Pep segura left coz he was promised promotion instead Rogers promoted mike marsh who haven't even coached for 2 years. I'm afraid about Rodolfo Borrel coz he sayed he left barca coz he wasn't getting promotion
-------------------------------------------
Mate get over it. Rogers is only the man to take us foward if he thinks to promote mike marsh instead of pep segura then be it. Pep segura is biggest fool he left coz of promotion very sad if Borrell wants to follow him then be it it won't be end for us will get another coaches who are better then them and are not crying for promotion. Very dissapointed with Borrell he talks all the time about promotion in his some interviews maybe forgoten he was brought for accademy and he should stay there if not then the door is open. No one is bigger then liverpool

To be honest I don't care if they were promised promotion or want it. They both deserved/deserve it. We have probably the best youth academy in Britain. Thanks to Rafa, Pep, Rodolfo, McPartland and Kenny.

If Rodolfo wants a promotion then give him it, he deserves it. He would make a good 1st team coach and someone who could relate to our kids better. When/if they were to make it in the 1st team squad.

Do not underestimate Rodolfo's importance to our club. If we want to promote within, then this is the guy who can make it happen.

Blair mate Rogers doesn't want them near 1st team and has brought his own people and promoted marsh. I know how important they are to us but Rogers have different plans and we need to support him I believe Rodolfo will go back to barca as they want him since last year sad but true {Ed063's Note - Rodolfo is the worlds best youth coach - so unless he was promoted as the Manager of Liverpool football club then he should be working with the kids, producing future stars.}

Pay the man big bucks and try to keep him.

are you really that stupid? Do you know anything about football? Because clearly you are struggling with the concept of a manager managing and getting the players he wants. After all, what turned things around at United for Fergie was the board backing him over the players, no matter who they were. You really should try learning something about the game before typing, then you wouldn't be so stunningly dim. Though, if we went by your idea, we would still have Dalglish and Rush up front, after all, they have played longer than the manager. Sometimes I am ashamed by the idiocy of some posters.}that was really funny edd001.. had to copy and post it again..who was the bloke that made you rant this way {Ed001's Note - someone with no understanding of the game. He seems to have missed the fact that our most successful manager ever had no experience in management before taking the job. Also that Mourinho was just a translator before being given the chance to manage. Sick of stupidity regarding Rodgers age, like it is relevant. Anyone that backs players over manager, they just have no idea about the game.}

Hi Eds. If Mario Balotelli is upset and wants to go what about a loan deal in Jan for him until the end of the season, tbh I'm not sure we can afford or attract any quality going on the owners work in the summer. He would guarantee goals and lots of laughs with his behaviour so should fit right in.

Balotelli persuaded Borini to sign for us saying that our fans are amazing. Before you click dislike read the Borini in FourFourTwo magazine.
Scouse_Pride
Mancini won't loan him out unless they get a replacement in January. {Ed063's Note - Balotelli has a major attitude problem, as we all know. He is, however, undoubtedly talented and could be the best player in the world if he is nurtured right. Does his attitude outweigh his talent? I'm not sure I would risk it personally}

Balotelli...........NO THANKS....

It's crazy what position in league that were in,but for some reason im refusing to panic,as i have absolute total faith in brendan rodgers.I firmly belive we are on the right track,and are only missing a quality striker.With the emergence of sterling,suso,wisdom from the youth team plus the undoubted potential of samed yesil and a few other,the future is really bright.Id go as far as saying i firmly belive we have the best youth system and the most talented group of kids in the country.I hope the owners sanction some cash for a top striker,and then watch watch us go from strengh to strengh.

Would also like to see a playmaker and a new keeper,as i think reina is nowhere near as good as he used to be.

I agree with you I have 100% confidence in BR. If we are patient and wait for BR to work his magic we could be the dominate force in England in 5 years. All you have to do is listen because every time he speaks genius comes out.
Andrew

I also agree. I am finding my self defending Brendan to my work colleagues. They are trying to wind me up by saying he will be sacked by Christmas same as Hodgson. My reply is that even though the results are bad we are playing good football and I can see the plan and everytime we play we seem to be better but under hodgson we were not getting the results and we were just crap. There is definite structure and future plans with Brendan and it can be seen on the pitch.

Gazza

Yeah we are allowed to understand Brendens philiosophy.. Hodgson esp and other previous managers keep it hidden (maybe they didn't have a clear philosophy) Having this communication with the fans is important..

I see you manager has excelled himself again Anfield Andy. Well in Moysie.

Not a rumour just about the squad.

Although the results haven't been great there hasn't been much talk of 'well we'r missing lucas and sahin isn't playing much yet' which in my eyes is great because it shows how good allen gerrard and shelvey have been. U add Lucas sahin in the mix and we now have as good a central midfield for years. now for wingers which has been a problem we have sterling, suso, assiadi, downing (not great), borini who apart from downing are all under 22 and can only get better....a lot better! sterling and suso who only played in Europa and some of the united terrified defenders at the age of 17 and 19. For the defence now and although we have shifted goals I believe we have been very unlucky. I believe skrtel agger coates Kelly wisdom johnson Enrique flanno and Robinson will give us great options back there for atleast another 3/4years and again the young lads will only get better and don't even look out of place at present.
Big problem for me though is....we need a proper out n out goal scorer. Can yesil or Morgan step up let's hope so but at the same time u look at the top teams at present they all have 4 or 5 strikers. I think the owners if Brendan can find a striker that's suits his style should release the funds as long as he is under 25. With this player added the young players getting more expierence and still making the occasional more expierenced signing in some windows there is no reason why in 2 years we will be right in the mix for top four and who knows after that. Patience is needed but a think exciting times ahead but not just because we will be winning but winning in style!

SPARKY now in australia ha

Everton brilliant singing justice for the 96 a few times tonight

I agree. But what were the Leeds fans singing I thought they were provoking them.

Mighty reds

Leeds fan here! We werent provoking their tributes. We were holding a tribute of our own. We were singing about Gary Speed. Significant match in that that he played for both LUFC and EFC.

Justice for the 96.
RIP Gary Speed

Shelvey Out, Step up Suso/ Henderson
Kelly Out. Step up Wisdom
Agger Out, Step up Coates

Team Against Norwich (In my Opinion)
433:
.........................Reina........................
Johnson....Coates...........Skrtel....Wisdom
........Suso...........Gerrard........Allen.......
Sterling..............Suarez..............Assaidi

Like I said this is just my opinion but thoughts would be appreciated.
AsianRed

I think Brendan will go more youthful like he did last Thursday against young boys. I expect to see yesil as well, plus downing.

That is the exact team I would field tomorrow, although the bench would look pretty weak.

Watching the game against Utd, it looked very much as though Gerrard has been given a lot more license to a) Roam around, and b) hit longer range passes. Do you know (probably one for Ed001, but I'd be interested in opinions of others) if BR has spoken to him about his form and happiness in the system?

Ash {Ed001's Note - Rodgers has worked with him, as well as the others, on how to play the system. Sometimes players just need time to fit in and figure out their role in it. Gerrard is showing signs he is adapting to it well, but he needs to play like that regularly now.}

But do you think Rodgers has adapted his system to accommodate Gerrard rather than vice versa? He seemed to play in a different manner to the other games.

Ash {Ed001's Note - Gerrard is adapting.}

This is the team I'd pick for trip to west brom....

Jones

Wisdom, carragher, Wilson, Enrique

Henderson. Sahin
Suso

Downing. Yesil. Assaidi

Surely coates needs to start with Carra.

Mighty reds

Sahin won't start as he will need rest for the weekend.

Replace downing with pacheco, robinson for enrique and wilson with coates

Coates over Wilson (he can cope with two games this week)

Ed Daren Burgess has left the club. Do you know why this is?

Frog. {Ed001's Note - this is just confirmation of an old story. He left due to being replaced by those Rodgers brought with him from Swansea.}

25 Sep 2012 20:21:46
Where's jack Robinson?

25 Sep 2012 22:27:32
Right now? I'd imagine Jack Robinson is in his house or apartment.

Ahem. He was on the bench last Europa game. Rodgers probably thought it more important to try and rehabilitate his first team left back (Enrique) than play Robinson.

hi eds and all i am contently seeing posts from lads saying what are,are chances of getting llorente lewdawaski 'sp'this top name and so on so on,well lads here it is in a nutshell we have no chance of getting any players of this calibre,we have no pulling power as regards money r potential at the moment for challenging for top spots in lge r getting champs lge football,and are big name in world football means nothing to these top class players at all,i wish i was totally wrong about this but i am not so lads maybe its time to start being a bit realistic about things,but i guess its no harm to dream,please god 1 day are dreams will come true but not anytime soon i dont think.ray

this must be the nadir it has to improve from here players out of form Reina & Enrique injuries Leiva Kelly & Agger refereeing errors Shelvey & Johnson the only way is up
Avoo

All teams have players out of form, injuries and bad
Refereeing decisions. That's what a squads for. So

25 Sep 2012 19:05:12
Boy, a few injuries and have to start scratching your head to try and think of a descent team to defend the only trophy we have.

I assume with Borini injured that Morgan or Yesil will get a start against WBA. Jones in nets, Wisdom, Enrique,Carra or Coates (whoever doesnt play will play on Saturday),Wilson (is he still there?). A midfield of Hendo,Sahin and Suso. Up front Downing, Assaidi and Morgan. It doesnt leave much for the bench, does it? Maybe a few regulars in the hope that we dont need them. I have to be honest, im not hopeful for tomorrow.

The Irish Rover

We can still put out a strong team

Reina; Johnson, Coates, Skrtel, Enrique; Henderson, Allen, Suso; Sterling, Suarez, Downing

Subs: Jones, Wisdom, Carragher, Sahin, Gerrard, Assaidi, Morgan

25 Sep 2012 18:43:42
From what i saw in the match kelly's injury looked worst than agger's. I know because i twisted my both knees. Feeling sorry for the lad.

One mans misfortune is another mans fortune

25 Sep 2012 16:09:23
Eds,

I understand that Kelly's injury will give more opportunity to Andre Wisdom, but I am getting more worried as to what the form of John Flannagan is. He seems to be getting more obscure with time, what exactly is his state now?

I was expecting to see more of him during pre-season and this season in cup matches. Has he lost his form?

O'seunfunmi (Anfield Red) {Ed001's Note - he is injured.}

Im afraid you run the risk of a red card with flanno his tackling is reckless he is a certain red card when he plays

25 Sep 2012 17:49:24
It is clear to see that we are playing some really good football but that does not help when you concede more than what you score. Only four scored and ten conceded in five games is terrible.

Don't get me wrong, I am happy to have Rodgers as our manager but he made one major mistake and that was letting Carroll go out on loan. Sure Carroll hasn't exactly set the world alight since joining LFC but the match vs UTD on Sunday would have seen Carroll as the perfect fit even if he would have had to come of the bench. Plan B could have been used whereas now it is just stick to plan A and hope for the best.

Last season we struggled to score but this season it is even worse. I know It has only been five games but that can become ten games and we might still be in the same boat which means we are going to be in massive trouble should our woes in front of goal continue like they are at the moment.

Suarez does not seem to be a player that will get us 20 a season and Stevie still needs to find the form we were used to seeing many seasons ago.

I am worried my fellow Reds, take Stevie and Suarez out of the picture and who do we have left to score goals? January is going to be a difficult time to buy when it comes to price and availability of players but it is as clear as day that we need a player who can score us 20 or more a season otherwise we will be asking ourselves again next season on when we will get back into the top 4. (sorry but we will not finish top 4 this season)

Don't know what Rodgers has up his sleeve but if he ain't going to get someone in this team to score then we are in for a very very very rough season.

Not trying to be negative but just very concerned about where the goals are going to come from.

Red4Life

Take Stevie and Suarez out of the picture like last thursday an we score 5
red rrab

Rodgers has already stated that he only let carrol go out on loan because he was told new players would be coming in,so the ones to blame for the size of our squadis ayres and no one else

My biggest concern also

I agree with most of this mate, but Suarez is a big problem for us. He obviously doesn't score enough goals but the biggest problem is he doesn't bring anyone in to play or even try and link up in the last third. The way he tries the impossible all the time is making my siht itch.

Shmickles

I believe firing a target man up front is more hoping for the best than playing a system.
derryred

Even if Rodgers was told that new players were coming in then why did he let Carroll go one day before the transfer window closed? Bank on one day to find a replacement?

Rodgers also needs to take some of the blame for our this transfer window. Rodgers even admitted that we were thin up front even before letting Carroll go on loan. Leaving it for one day to find a replacement was a chance that Rodgers forced on himself and look where it has left us.

Things do not always go according to plan so hopefully the club has learnt it's lesson now. Leaving it for the last minute to find Carroll's replacement obviously was not the brightest idea. West Ham inquired about Carroll towards the end of July so why did we leave it for the last day to get a replacement for him? It is not like Rodgers was trying to keep Carroll anyway so we should have had a replacement lined up before Carroll was sent on loan, not the other way around and we had a month to do this but left it for ONE day.

Anyway, whats done is done and hopefully Suarez gets his shooting boots on!

Red4Life {Ed001's Note - I wish people would just man up, he's gone, get over it. He was never going to get games, or perhaps people would like him to play in place of Sterling?}

25 Sep 2012 22:40:57
Red4life mate there is no doubt that Rogers has made some big mistakes as every manager does difference is some are really coasting us eg striker he exactly knew we needed prolific striker instead wasted money on Borini which has already ended our season before even started. If FSG doesnt Back him in junuary as we all know how difficult is to get players in january then he will be in big big trouble will even be harder to finish midtable as we don't have players who can score regular goals and will get even harder to attract players if we don't finish respectable position in league

Future team;

---------------TerStegen---------------
----------Coates---------Dragovic-----
Kelly---------------------------Robinson
-----------------Suso-Lucas------------
------------------Shelvey--------------
Assaidi-------------Borini--------Sterling

Even if it dont look like it, there is huge potential in that team!

At least 3 years into the future

Where Carra & Stevie?

I would prefer:

---------------Ter Stegen--------------
----------Coates--------Wisdom--------
Kelly---------------------------Robinson
-----------Suso--------Allen------------
----------------Shelvey-----------------
Assaidi-----------Yesil-----------Sterling

25 Sep 2012 22:52:36
No Lucas?

25 Sep 2012 17:38:29
Pep segura left coz he was promised promotion instead Rogers promoted mike marsh who haven't even coached for 2 years. I'm afraid about Rodolfo Borrel coz he sayed he left barca coz he wasn't getting promotion

25 Sep 2012 16:55:43
So according to the Daily Mail, our owners are about to announce that Anfield is to be redeveloped with a capacity of 60,000, with the Kop being very much the focus. Apparently the council have done a u-turn and are happy for a redevelopment to go ahead. Have you heard anything yourself regarding this ed? {Ed002's Note - You appear to be reading an old newspaper. Try the search function.}

25 Sep 2012 16:34:04
Is there any chance Ed liverpool been intreasted I'n Robert lewandowski I now Dortmund says he's not for sale but they might be tempted cash I'n seen as he wont sign new contract {Ed002's Note - Don't hold your breath.}

I am holding my breath and now turning blue?

What to do next?

25 Sep 2012 16:33:47
Who wants to watch pretty attacking football, with no prospect of winning any cup. Rather grind out results, which is what all our opponents seem to have done since the season started. Can't see Norwich playing any different from Sunderland.

If you want pretty football for Lfc we should've just changed the name of the team to Swansea and saved alot of trouble.
Jmac

Bring back hodgson?

25 Sep 2012 16:32:25
Shelvey is banned. Uh

25 Sep 2012 16:36:12
V Norwich 433
Reina
Johnson
Carragher ( Agger is injured)
Skrtel
Enrique
Allen
Gerrard
Henderson
Borini
Suarez
Sterling

25 Sep 2012 17:06:04
.............Reina...
wisdom skrtel coates johnson...
.......gerrard allen..
suso.....hend.....sterling
...........suarez

In my opinion henderson deserves a start. Coates is getting better with every game and is starting to look like some player for the future. In addition the arrogance of suso when he came on the pitch against united was unbelievable. He didnt look one bit fazed at all, he is ridiculously composed in possesion. Wisdom was brilliant in the europa and johnson has been superb at left back while enrique is struggling.

cheers JTG

Swap carra for coates

Huws

Henderson is to lightweight goes missing for long periods just not good enough he had found his level at sunderland and should have stayed there

Sahin next to Allen and Gerrard just ahead then I think you have cracked it

Poor start to the sesason from a points perspective.

I cant help feeling that (given time) Brendan will get this very right at liverpool and to aqn extent he has already made great strides.

He needs backing by us and the owners but we need to start picking up the pace again from a points perspective. A tough away game at Norwick but we need 3 points (our season almost starts here).

25 Sep 2012 15:25:47
Brendan rodgers is seriously starting to get annoyed with the owners and there cost cutting.With 2 more members of the backroom staff leaving,add to the massive summer clearout of his playing staff,he feels they have seriously gone back on theire word of investment when he took over.A major row is about to break out!. {Ed002's Note - Rubbish - you are just trying to panic people after reading confirmation of month old news.}

Fail.

Poor, sad, and badly informed attempt at trolling.

Must try harder.

SpudRed

Read into the facts first.
1st - this is old news.
2nd - it's pretty much an effect of BR taking over, so I'm sure he's well aware of what happened and why. He will also know that it is nothing to do with the owners cost-cutting (as you put it).

You should know by now that these sad people have nothing better to do in there sad little life than try and create drama, I bet they don't even have a job and watch Jeremy Kyle all day lol

Have long have you been asleep son? Burgess and Segura left ages ago. Is your life that boring that you have to come on here and make stuff up? I feel quite sorry for you.

davethebutcher

Burgess left as his role had changed significantly and he now wants to return to Australia.
Segura left as he was either promised something by KK, which now won't happen under BR or the fact that he was not promoted in some capacity when BR took over.
Either way BR is fully aware of who left and why they left.

Segura - The 51-year-old cited a desire to return to his family in Spain as his reason for wanting to step down from his role in Kirkby. However, there were rumours that his decision was also influenced by the fact he missed out on a more senior role at Anfield this summer.

Burgess - "Brendan wanted to bring in some staff from Swansea," said Burgess following his departure from the club, "and Brendan has been fantastic, but my role has changed and it's not really worth living on the other side of the world for. It's tough, because I worked for 15 years to try to get into the Premier League”it was my dream. But I leave thinking it's the right thing for my family."

Oh look!! so many people that disagree with the posts contradicting the original troll.
He must have been telling the truth after all.
I'm going to change my mind now and believe him, even though I was one that replied to his post.

With enrique out of the picture and likely to be sold in january,expect young Ryan McLaughlin to be given a chance very soon.The club have very high hopes for him,hence why they took him on the north american tour.The manager will have only limited funds available in january so will not sign a left back as a striker is his priority.Another young player who the club have high hopes for is Alex O'Hanlon,they see him as the future too the left wing solution.

McAlves is going to be a top class FB, I think. He is, however, still very young. 16, or maybe 17. Him and Ibe will be playing U18 and Nextgen footy this year with the occasional U21 appearance. 1 or 2 years from now they'll be excellent down the right side together.

For now, Andre Wisdom and Jon Flanagan (once fit) will be filling in for Kelly. We also have Jack Robinson as LB and moving Glen back over to RB if needed. Full back cover is not a huge problem for us. I was more concerned about losing Agger, which fortunately doesn't look to be too long a period off and he'll be back after this international break.

SpudRed

We really do have some outstanding youngsters at our club,and in the long term they are going to save the club a lot of money.Sterling,suso,yesil,wisdom and the 2 irish lads mclaughlin and o'hanlon could be the core of the team for next 10-15 years.

25 Sep 2012 15:04:24
Andre wisdom is expected to play at right back against west brom,with johnson at left back,if wisdom does well he will keep that place as will johnson at left back.The writing is on the wall for enrique who will be sold in january the manager simply doesn't rate him.Suso and yesil willbe given theire chance too.

25 Sep 2012 14:22:19
Liverpool today confirmed Pep Segura and Darren Burgess have left the club.......... Do the Ed's know of any reasons why this has happened?? {Ed002's Note - It is no more than confirmation of something that happened more than a month ago.}

Burgess has just said that Rodgers brought conditioning coaches with him from Swansea to implement his methods quickly. Burgess also said it has been excellent work being done but because his role is lessened he just doesn't feel like its worth living half a world away from the majority of his family anymore.

Segura is a different story and we will miss him a lot. Not sure we'll ever get the full story behind that. Maybe he felt he was overlooked for promotion, maybe Rodgers wants more input in the academy training methods that Segura basically owns these last 3-4 years. The youth, at all levels, have being doing Barcelona type training and conditioning accross all age levels for 3 years now. Consistant for all kids. It's all been Segura's vision back by Frank McFarland.

Time will tell. Rodgers does seem more than capable of coaching and bringing on youth players.

I was really impressed with Suso. Right now I don't think he is a forward. I'm not saying he won't prove me wrong at that position given time & games. I just think that he would create more from deep rather than directly up front. Looking forward our midfield should be Suso Shelvey Allen. Front line Yesil Sterling (Morgan). Back line Robinson Coates (Wilson) Wisdom. I think Wilson & Morgan will eventually make the cut. The rest are like money in the bank.

25 Sep 2012 13:18:54
i dont understand why we dont get some braziliens like ronaldinho or luis fabiano or some young talent

We have - we got Lucas and we have another youngster that rafa bought some years ago

If only it were that easy.

Why dont we get some young talent? we have a very young average age for the team that we put out if we get any younger we will have an average age under 16 ray3037

Sterling, Suso, Wisdom, Yesil, Robinson, Flanagan, Dunn, Pelosi, Adorjan, Ngoo, Morgan, Ibe, McLaughlin, Smith, Roddan, Lussey, Peterson, Trickett-Smith, Baio, and Teixiera. To name a few youth stars of the future.

Youth development and scouting is a problem for us at the moment.

Sinclair is the number 1 youngster we have,will be the real deal in 2/3 years time.

I think it's to do with work permits etc. You can just fly in a team full of Brazilian 15 year old wonder kids.

Alright Lads,

I see a lot of people moaning about BR cause of the start we had to the season. Personally i like BR and his style of football. I think we just had a whole lot of bad luck and things will pick up eventually. We are maybe only missing one or two players that is stopping us from finishing in the top 4. And a lot of teams up the top half of the table will start slipping up eventually (Everton,WBA)

Im confident things will turn around and we will get the results. It makes you laugh though, with Benitez he was negative with his tactics but he brought us success, BR brings this exciting attacking football but as of yet hasnt had the luck. Ask yourself would you rather the boring defedning football, or the attacking slick passing ball we are playing at the moment

Barry B

25 Sep 2012 15:09:22
Mate Benitez wasn't negetive as you say before coming to us he was known is spain master of tactics you don't win against teams like barca or humilate teams like madrid or manchester united or win league titles with valencia against teams like barca and madrid. And I'm surprised you say teams who play preety footy needs to win. Look at Arsenal since they started playing preety footy haven't won anything or look at Mourinho he is one of the most successfull manager ever since went to spain has won 3 trophys in two years.

Spot on mate Benitez legacy will stay forever especially with our accademy. He signed players like raheem,suso,kelly,shelvey,robinson and many more who are going to take us foward.THANK YOU BENITEZ

Rafa's signings :

Raheem - Kenny
Kelly - Local
Shelvey - Hodgson
Robinson - Local

You did however get Suso right.
Keep trying to re-write history, that what Rafa fans do well.

Sterling was a Rafa signing as was Shelvey who was probably Rafa's last signing though I can't be sure on that. Feel free to get your facts right moaner.

Your trying to rewrite history. Shelvey wasn't bought by Hodgson at all but Rafa.

25 Sep 2012 17:31:26
To the guy who's saying Rafa didn't sign Sterling and Shelvey:

Sterling's signing was agreed in February 2010, I think you'll find Rafael Benitez was Liverpool manager at the time.

Likewise, Shelvey's signing was agreed in early May. Again, Rafa was Liverpool manager.

You seem to be confusing when someone was signed with when they made their debut mate. Rafa signed both of 'em.

25 Sep 2012 17:52:45
To above poster these is for you what kenny sayed about Raheem
"It's funny the amount of people who are jumping on the bandwagon and claiming credit for Raheem Sterling's development now after they've worked with him for a couple of months.

"The people who deserve the credit are the people who worked with him at QPR, Rafa Benitez, who brought him to Liverpool, and the people in the academy at Liverpool who have furthered his football education.

"The NextGen...competition is also one of the reasons why he has made such a lot of progress. You can see the benefits of the experience he gained in the fact that he is in the reckoning for the first team at Anfield now".

raheem and shelvey both rafa buys
who's rewriting history now

I think you'll find that Rafa signed Sterling. It was a record transfer for a teenager from QPR.

Jonesred

Rafa signed sterling and shelvey clever clogs. The man is a legend

Suso , Raheem, Shalvy all 3 is Rafa's buy

Ya!! and Rafa did all the youth scouting
as well as Running the first team

Muppets

In regards to the original post, Rafa did amazing things with our academy and some great youth signings however I agree that, apart from half a season, we played negative football under Rafa. I would rather watch the current Liverpool and believe that things will turn soon from dominating games into winning games. No disrespect to Rafa, he did much good for the club but I simply didnt enjoy the football his teams played as much.

Alright lads, you always give me a laugh, so as you're all great conspiracy theorists could you tell me if its The F.A's fault for this bad weather? Thanks in advance.

You have a point there, the F.A are suspicious, I think your onto something..... To the bat cave .....

Absolutely they are!!!

Hi, 100% guaranteed, Reina is confident he will actually be able to save a shot BEFORE Christmas. He has been working hard in training and although he hasn't saved any here either he believes that the law of averages will eventually apply and at least one shot will hit him soon therefore constituting a save.

Whats up de gea not so sure he will make one at all.

A little down this morning Brendan?

2 points out of 15.
Relegation zone.
1 of 2 strikers injured.
The other can't strike.
Kelly out for season.
Lucas out til January.
Agger out til who knows.

The poor lad must truly fell cursed. Outplayed both Manchester clubs and a point to show.

I am no religious person, but I am praying for the club.

DG

You are so right with all your comments there except being outplayed by the Manchester clubs on both the occasion the best team didn't win.

^ DG stated in his post that we outplayed the two Manchester club's! And Ed's what's with the red underlined writing in some post's? Is that where your filling in word's that poster's have left out? {Ed002's Note - My understanding is that it is something to do with the new ad software. Folks complained about advertisements for a series of very groovy looking chicks (Ed007's words not mine) so there is a new ad supplier. No doubt some will see it as a conspiracy against Liverpool - and it may well be. If you click on any of the links it switches on your webcams and we can see what you are really up to. Perhaps you could put your trousers back on - you are as bad as Pepe.}

I think you need to read his comments again....

Whats happened to Sahin!?

He has hardly featured and the little i have seen of him he hasnt looked great, almost off the pace.

Question - do we expect to see him play due to Shelvey out, and do we think hes just not got to grips with the pace of our game yet!?

NS {Ed001's Note - he is just struggling to get back into things. When you watch him running, he looks like he is running through treacle, the mind is telling him what to do, but his legs just aren't reacting. It will take a while to get back into it.}

ED001 - I thought the same, the problem we have is he only has a season with us and from what ive seen it may take him a season to get up to full fitness! Shame I thought he would make a real difference immediately!

NS {Ed001's Note - it is more important to have him up to speed in the second half of the season, when the squad is struggling.}

Glenda's spot on. Referees shouldn't come with any preconceived ideas and stereotypes about.
Don't look at the name on the back of the jersey; look at and judge the incident at the time.

Fair enough it would be desirable of Suarez to quit often crying wolf, but still, it don't justify the predisposition to assume the worst of the player.
Make the call based on what you see or can reasonably see.

Suarez was fouled there and should have got the decision. It was scandalous of Halsey not to award the pen. It's even more ridiculous and unintelligent of anyone to justify that failing by citing Suarez's 'rep'. Utterly disgraceful.

I in no way condone the abuse referring to his, but the point here is that Halsey ****ed up monumentally and pissed off LFC fans and many other folks who advocate fair play. Fans rightly wanted to vent.

The indignation is justified. Players and fans alike invest lots of effort, practise and emotion in the game.
So to be treated in that manner is unpalatable and scandalous.

Worst, you're expected to just accept it and move on. What irks me more is the fact scoundrels like Webb, Halsey, Dowie, Riley and many of their ilk can glaring fail in their duties and not account for it.

Those who have more to lose due to such incompetence and ineptitude, club owners, directors, managers, the paying fans... when they complain, they're simply told to just shut it and 'respect' referees, even fined in some cases.
Yet the culprits, the real perpetrators, get away with murder, without condemnation, reprimand or accountability processes of any sort.

It's sickening; absolutely disgraceful. These so-called 'middle men' are bigger threat to the game and fairness than the much maligned 'sugar daddies'.

Thd risible PGMOL would do well to rein in it's own acutely abject and inept members and look at ways of producing well drilled, competent, efficient and most importantly accountable referees.
Cretins!

Halsey was doing well until the sending-off. he went to pieces from then on. RED LENIN

Good post mate, perhaps there should be a referee 'league table' or start bringing through young ref's who can keep up with a game.
Lee73

Totally agree mate,have been fuming with referees for far too long now,its about time we as fans should be given a choice of which ref out of a possible 2 or 5 we would allow to ref our home games,i used to think halsey was sensible to the point of thinking before the match wed have a good and fair representation from the fa.also i couldnt help but notice every time a major decision had to be made he took advice from another source,whats that all about are refs soon to be called the second official or what,its an absolute shambles.

The problem is, all the points you make pail into insignificance when persons (not you I may add) start a raft of sick tweets about his illness. The man had a bad day at the office - no doubt on that - but any moral high ground regarding decisions and any (remote) possibility of him reconsidering the red card are now firmly put to bed.

The guy doesn't need or deserve comments regarding his illness on any level...especially in the aftermath of the Hillsborough revelations, don't these people think before they engage their peanut brains? guess I've already got the answer to that one.....

Best wishes for the future Mr Halsey from an albeit disgruntled but empathetic Liverpool fan. Please don't judge us all on the ramblings of a couple of delinquents.

Marshy

From my perspective, the red for Shelvey probably should have been dual yellows for both players, but I can kind of see why he gave a red to Shelvey.

The penalty decision for Valencia was just bad. No way around that- terrible decision.

As for Suarez- for me, sorry to say not a penalty. Slight clash of feet, but not nearly enough for me to get a pen out of it.

^ That's your's and Mark Halsey's perspective not thousand's and thousand's of other fan's watching the same game! I can't understand how you can say no penalty concerning Luis? There was clearly contact with both foot and knee from Evan's! We were robbed! With the sending off and the two penalty shout's!

And the RVP yellow was a pretty ordinary call after the Shelvey decision. Halsey had a shocker and we can all be unhappy about it with just reason however there is no reason for the health remarks, low as low can be. While the calls made it very difficult for us and understandably aggreived, we need to take charge of our own fate and put away our chances. Suarez, despite not getting decisons he should, has somewhat brought it on himself and needs to manage his actions before pointing the finger at anyone else.

Team Vs West Brom

Pepe Reina
Andre Wisdom
Martin Skrtel (c)
Sebastian Coates
Jack Robinson
Jordan Henderson
Nuri Sahin
Suso
Raheem Sterling
Oussama Assaidi
Samed Yesil

Brad Jones, Jamie Carragher, Glen Johnson, Steven Gerrard, Daniel Pacheco, Adam Morgan, Luis Suarez.

...................... Reina
.............Skrtel ........ Coates
....Wisdom ....................... Robinson

.....Henderson ... Sahin ....... Suso

..........Sterling ............ Assaidi
........................Yesil

I would give Skrtel a rest for this one- we dont want our only fit first choice central defender getting injured in the Carling Cup- In fact we won it last year- lets just not take it so seriously this year.

I would swap Henderson and Sahin round. Hendo has a better engine on him to play the central holding role.

Mike in leeds

Suarez in for yesil and Shelvey for suso. Were defending the cup we need to go for the win and get momentum. Shelvey will be chomping at the bits to make amends

looking at the defensive problems we will have now that agger ,kelly are injured and the enrique issues are there any defenders that are being lined up for the new year.

25 Sep 2012 07:29:57
Little bit late but here it is:

Rodgers should be getting full back up. He clearly has a plan, he clearly makes us play wonderful football, the only sad thing in this year is that the owners knew we needed a striker yet they left it late and the result is the situation today.

I feel our only problem is our record in tracking good players for bargain. Borini is another player we wasted funds for again.

Also in some way the team/owners should be "fighting" the system. We can't be leaving the referees clearly bullying us almost every game. Dalglish tried last year and we need to keep on pushing them.

Morning eds and fellow reds...

Please can eds001 answer this question for me...

With lfc not being on top form, because they are getting used to BR's method, if at some point in the season, or at the end of the season, if this continues, who do you think willbe the beset option to become lfc manager?

Cheers, jack {Ed001's Note - I think the best option would be to replace the players that don't get it and keep the manager.}

Ludicrous!

So we should change our manager every few months?

You are clueless. Saying that you only have a point in that if I ever employed you I would surely have to replace you very quickly.

25 Sep 2012 16:30:15
eds how can he replace players with no backing from are dejenerate owners

25 Sep 2012 16:50:22
Stunning insight into Ed thinking.

Take one new unsuccessful manager, keep him irrespective if results.
And replace all the players including those who have attained top success and have played longer than the manager himself has been in top flight football.

Stunning stuff. So no accountability for BR for any of the decisions made, however bonkers. Fresh thinking. Probably deserves inclusion on page 1 of the dossier. {Ed001's Note - are you really that stupid? Do you know anything about football? Because clearly you are struggling with the concept of a manager managing and getting the players he wants. After all, what turned things around at United for Fergie was the board backing him over the players, no matter who they were. You really should try learning something about the game before typing, then you wouldn't be so stunningly dim. Though, if we went by your idea, we would still have Dalglish and Rush up front, after all, they have played longer than the manager. Sometimes I am ashamed by the idiocy of some posters.}

why are we linked with llorente when we got rid of carroll? i personally dident want carroll to leave but surely they wouldent buy llorente after loaning out carroll?

Quite agree. That's an 'achive nothing'. Llorente and Carroll are very very similar in style. If Carroll doesn't firt (which he doesn't) Llorente wont either. RED LENIN {Ed001's Note - not at all true Lenin, sorry mate but Llorente is nothing like Carroll at all in anyway except being tall! For starters, Llorente actually attacks crosses sent into the box, that is a huge difference. For second, he gets involved in the build up and then doesn't stand around admiring the play but looks to get on the end of it. He is mobile, unlike Carroll, professional and is fully involved in a pass and move system under Bielsa.}

The only place that Llorente and Carroll are even remotely similar is FIFA career mode.

our reserve, u21s and all the youth squad, are we playing the same way as our senior squad? this tiki taka thing?

Kaizer

No we are playin tika masala :)
Gaz b

No we are playing tiki tarka - its like massala but a little 'otter

Funny stuff. Seriously though, the answer is yes.

Frank McFarland has said that *all* levels of youth player development play the Barcelona style of football and that has been in place consistently for 4 years now. They play pass and move, press and possession football. 5 a side, 8 a side games and all ball work fitness conditioning.

McFarland said the whole system was very similar to the style that Rodgers wants to play in the first team but they have been looking at what ways it can be tweaked to be even more like Rodgers overall style of play.

Hi Eds,

Sorry to bring up an old issue but I have a question i'd like answering.

If John Terry is found NOT guilty by the F.A., does that not leave them exposed to some kind of legal proceedings by Liverpool over their handling of the Suarez-Evra affair?

The two cases seem pretty similar to me. {Ed002's Note - No. The cases are not similar. Steven Gerrard's case is a better analogy - Suarez's did not go to court.}

I expect to see Terry get a slap on the wrist and told not to be so rude in future.

At ed002,
'The FA has charged Terry with breaking rule E3(1) and E3(2) in his alleged abuse of Anton Ferdinand, an identical charge to the one Luis Suárez faced after his confrontation with Patrice Evra.'

as an analogy i thought the original poster had a real good point, same offences, similar cases of 'denial' in the context of how the words were used. the F.A persuing the point that the words were actually used when it's an offernce to do so-regardless of any situation.
s.p {Ed002's Note - The point is that like the case of Steven Gerrard this matter was dealt with in a court of law in teh first instance. What is happening with Terry has nothing whatsoever to do with Suarez and there is no come back from Suarez or legal proceedings by Suarez. Get over it and move on.}

If Carlsberg did dreams...realistically these would be my signings in Jan

All i think would be FSG approved...young,cheap, sell on value, and teams with same par as liverpool i.e. no champions league this season

GK Ter Stegen or Bernt Leno (both German, age 20, Leverkusen and Mochengladbach)

-Top class and would challenge Reina or maybe replace him

LB Serge Aurier ( French, age 19, Toulouse)

-Both footed, fast can also play RB, like a younger Glen Johnson...replace Terrible Enrique

DM Victor Wanyama (age 21, plays for Celtic)

-great player, versatile at CB and likes to play footy and set up attacks, great competition for Lucas and would allow Allen to play in his best position higher up the pitch. Even though Celtic are in CL how could he turn down the Pool if they came in for him

Wing/Forward Isco ( Dream Player ) typical spanish flair similar to santi cazorla and iniesta but doubt he would come to us unless we broke the bank so......

We need more pace to strech teams so ideally
Antoine Griezmann (age 21, french, plays for real sociedad)

Pace, direct and not afraid to shoot

ST/CF Facunda Fererreya (age 21, Banfield, Argentinian) he reminds me of Torres so much and he is a goalscorer

Anyway this who i think our are realistic targets at the minute...would love to see us getting these players

Through selling Carroll, Downing, Enrique, perhaps reina, we could balance the books for these players..
So hope this gets posted up..would you Eds and fellow reds think i am on the right lines on the players we should be after?? LFC for Life

Eire LFC

Players that we 'should be after' and players that 'we will probably get' are unfortunately poles apart.

cozinoz

Were more likely to get

The blackpool Donkey and only then if he does not get a better offer from Brighton beach

I'm relieved that Agger's injury isn't as bad as feared but sad for Borini and Kelly. Borini really needs game time to help him settle and Kelly is starting to hold down his place in the team... We have 4 players injured from our very thin squad already. But having said that would love to see Coates, Wisdom, Robinson, Yesil, Suso and Assaidi to get some games during this period

Keith YNWA

Good news about Agger!

You are right about Borini, he was playing well against Man Utd and you could see he was starting to settle in, a set back, but as u said it will give other players an oppertunity.

as we all seen it against manchester united we was the better team and how players proved they are better than there players i thought liverpool are making great progress cant wait to see lfc players in a year or two be a bit older and stronger just got to stick with brendan and get behind him i think hes going to get us back to the top in a couple of years, i can only say a couple of things about sundays game is that shelvey shouldnt be allowed to play for us again he cost us the game i thought loan him or sell him because he does tackles like that nearly every game i go to watch and we need a new midfielder and im close to lfc club and i can say there is a world class striker coming in in january llorente support to be might be someone else world class. and i can say that the owners are willing to give brendan 150m to spend next summer:)

YNWA96

Anyone willing to bet that the one person who agreed with this post is the person wrote it?

Oh sorry, next time Suarez doesn't score, or Allen's doesn't complete a pass, or sterling doesn't fly past the full back he shouldn't play for Liverpool. Thanks a ton!

- Brendan Rodgers.
