So, I've only looked at the first few posts but, Suarez was a 'disgrace' and we should get 'rid' as soon as? We should drop Suso for Assaidi (even though they play in different positions?). I've really had enough of this b******* from the lot of you. Good win. Good performance. i thought the whole team played well. End the **** of.

Mate I was the one who said we should start Assaidi ahead of Suso and I think it is a valid point, you've completely taken it out of context with your mindless rant.

For a start I don't believe I said we should "drop" any player.It was plain to see Suso had little effect on Saturday in comparrison with Osama's performance tonight.

Secondly both Assaidi and Suso play as part of a front three which Brendan Rodgers has said on many occasions is interchangeable. Or did you not notice the fact that Sterling played on the right this evening whereas against reading he played on the left.

Just think before typing .... It will save you both time and embarrasment!

How disgrace was agger thats embarrassing tried to cheat

25 Oct 2012 23:44:13
Oh behave, it was cheeky and brilliant! Love that guy!

Have a word with yourself mate. Go to youtube and look for Gary Crosby goal against Andy Dibble, from the 89/90 season. Exactly the same as tonight and the goal was given. With FIFA changing the rules so often i can't quite understand when they snuck something in making tonight goal illegal. Control of the ball used to mean having both hands on it.

ChrisE

In fact more to the point have a look through youtube at more goals disallowed due to the keeper supposedly being in control of the ball, Robin Van Persie versus Man City for Arsenal for example. The ball here was actually in midair as keeper went to kick it. There are a few examples and in none of them is a player booked, in all videos i saw ref pulled player aside and explained rules and gave a free kick. Not one yellow card apart from Agger. Can LFC appeal the card?

ChrisE

He just really wanted us to win, can't knock him for trying. It's not like it affected anyone else, just thought he'd have a go. You wouldn't be saying anything against it if he did score. Just my opinion

Didn't count so no his didn't cheat and he was punished with a yellow card, if the keeper does not have control of the ball then a player is allowed to challenge the keeper. I'm sure dagger thought the ball was chucked in mid air. Honestly...

Well done, Danny Agger

25 Oct 2012 23:18:09
Can someone tell me why agger's goal was disallowed please? In my day that was allowed with the keeper only having one hand on the ball??!!

The keeper didn't release the ball into the air..

If Agger has waited a second or so more...

Lee YNWA

That's lies because RVP's goal wasn't given and the keeper had thrown the ball into the air.

Eds.great performance tnite asshadi ,sktel,stand out performers was johnson injured ?great síte

Forgot wisdom..the lad was solid

25 Oct 2012 23:01:52
Wisdom, wow if this guy doesn't get nominated for a PFA young player award it'll be a truly horrific farce. This guy (in my honest opinion) is the best defender we have on the team). The way he's so composed, his aerial threat, tackling, strength and pace you name it. When Flanagan and Kelly get back to full fitness their gonna have a real fight on their hands trying to force this guy out. All in all, great performance and thanks for an early eid present LFC.

25 Oct 2012 23:01:45
could someone explain to me what exaclty was wrong with aggers goal tonight? i felt it was fairly legit i mean the keeper one had one hand on the ball as such!
westcorkred

If the keeper is deemed in control of the ball with one hand or two its a foul...

25 Oct 2012 22:54:40
After watching this game...and many from the past year and a half, I feel like there are many times when Suarez puts his head down and tries to do too much. I think he's brilliant on the ball but when he picks his head up he can make some very good passes.

I really think he'd benefit from a true goal scorer playing in the middle of that front three that he could defer to that he trusted would finish a chance. This would take a lot of pressure of Suarez in my opinion and allow him to be much more creative and influential during the game. What do you all think?

~Fresh

What do you think everyone's been saying ever since January last season. We need a goal poacher full stop, borini unfortunantly is not that at all.

Suarez needs a CF that he trusts to pass it to. i.e. if someone like Higuain, Huntelaar were the CF then he would take the easy option and pass. {Ed063's Note - Suarez is playing as the centre forward though}

25 Oct 2012 22:40:52
Another clean sheet. Another three points. We are on the right track at the moment. Well happy for Downing. Suarez looked a bit off the pace tonight but let's hope he gets a rest against Swansea after he as destroyed the blues.

Good result and performance :D

As you know im a big fan of br, but now, theres a test on sunday. In terms of the goalkeeper. Ive been begging for reina to be taken out of some games, and like i said after our last clean sheet, (that he should play tonight ) and, hes gotten another.
So yeah, the test is to see if he sticks by jones....I really hope he does pick jones for bitters.

Benny baller.

(ps, we havent kept 3 clean sheets in a row since 43 games ago......could we make it 4 against everton? )

I would take a 0-0 draw against Everton but other than that, if we get goals I'm sure they will too.

I agree to some extent, but our clean sheets of late are mostly down to the defence having found it's balance again. Well done Jones anyway.

pronin

Good man Benny. It will be interesting to see the GK position this weekend if Pepe is fit. I fully expect 3 points this weekend and if I can get 2/1 odds I lump some on it. Pronin, I agree. BR said after the game in the interview something about adding steel to the defence. The're beginning to gel with the new play from the back system. Wait until Lucas gets back and shields them too, we'll be even better.

25 Oct 2012 22:26:02
suarez was really frustrating tonight, on the refs back too much. i mean most of the ref's decisions were correct, he wasnt fouled alot of the time.

and with him being our only real fit striker he has to cop on and not be getting yellow / red cards for dissent

I agree, come on we have to honest and admit suarez is looking like a liability lately.The hard done by attitude he has is making the refs not do us any favours, he needs to keep his head down and get on with it, it starting to do my head in!!

We won! give it a rest! unsigned posters.

Would have to agree. Suarez was not playing well and the constant falling down is getting a tad old now.

25 Oct 2012 22:20:32
good result with a not bad performance,although I thought Suarez was a disgrace,offered nothing,doesn't look up and tries the same thing all the time.

Personally and I know I am going to get slated for saying this,but I would get rid in Jan transfer market and get 2-3 other strikers

alan50

Ready through your numerous posst on this page in the past i have to say your one of the most synical and depressing fan I've ever came across. Your not a fan and not a supporter, I've read all you post and all but one is possitive so how about giving it a rest, shutting up and stop the BR bassing, Suarez bashing and in general liverpool bashing. I fail to see how your a fan and not some pathetic troll. Away back under your stone and givews us peace. We one, keep another clean sheet against a team thats spent close to 250 million on there team and can afford to pay eto £5000 an hour. Would rather have borini,suarez,stering and assidi in front of him all day. They play for the cause, maybe time you got behind it to.

25 Oct 2012 23:18:04
I would never suggest that Suarez offers nothing, what frustrates me is he could offer so much more...he has clear cut chances every game he plays in, yet he often doesn't pass the ball, and will try to win a free kick rather than stay on his feet and score a goal. He could easily be the leagues top scorer if he just kept it simple and stopped trying to over complicate every opportunity he gets. Instead he has a reputation as a diver, a cheat, a faker and a massive whinger. I would HATE him if he played for United. As it is, like everyone else, I realise that the difference in culture is to blame for this ie penalties are something you 'win' not compensation for another player denying you a goal scoring opportunity. If he switched his mindset to the way of playing in this league he would be SO. GOOD.

Without suarez we would not have a striker , and tell me how many goals he has scored , plus how many chances he sets up , with fans like you who needs the FA , suarez has had NO rest from his international dutied which seen him travel 1000,of miles but you dont care about that do you , maybe you have not been that far to get jet lag , try it some time and see if you can play 3 games in a week , a clean sheet without reina says more than you have ever wrote ,get behind the team or shut up as we all know whats wrong with the team , but we got shafted in the summer , the kids that have come in have been brilliant , why not say that ,

mickey b

How can anyone disagree with this? It's spot on truth.

Mate your chatting dung,little suarez has his moments admittedly,but where the fick are you or anyone who thinks they know better,gonna find anyone as near as good,ey,best case scenario,werw 2 points clear after tonight,come sunday every blue nose in liverpool will be chatting suarez,so whatever side of the fence your angling from the little fella is a source of stimulus whatever he does and in my book thats a positive not a negative,so who gives a shut what everybody else says,god bless his duckin and divin i say.

Disgrace for having a off game?

What a muppet!

what about Gerrard he offered nothing is he also a disgrace for not even hitting the target?

lets bring carroll back so he can make suarez look good again hey?

Wisdom for me was superb...

25 Oct 2012 22:15:46
Assaidi has got to start on Sunday, he was immense tonight. Think he should take Suso's place, nothing against him but didn't really show up against reading and Assaidi is hitting form!

The ultimate knee-jerk. Assaidi was mediocre in his previous game and Suso was superb in the one before his last. Assaidi might need a rest after tonight whereas Suso will be fresher. Both are quality players and I'm sure BR will put the correct peg in the correct hole.

Suso played about four key passes in the reading game 3 to Suarez and 1 to Sahin (which was wrongly given offside).

25 Oct 2012 22:14:09
Liverpool were good tonight not great but they won which is the main thing. I really hope it wasn't to the detriment of the Everton game though.

25 Oct 2012 22:08:08
Another win and clean sheet - very happy! Assaidi, Sterling, our whole defense were great, only disappointment was Luis going down too easily resulting in nothing from the ref and giving the ball away. We all know he can stay on his feet and how amazing he can be, he doesn't do himself any favours sometimes

25 Oct 2012 22:00:14
Great all round performance - everyone played well and a few stood out - Wisdom, Assaidi, Skrtel, Sterling, Jones. Lets hope there's enough juice in the tank for Everton

Assaidi and Wisdom both superb so far. The ability of our youth is scary

Assaidi is 24, not really youth

25 Oct 2012 20:59:14
Gerrard is off pace today and assaidi quality purchase in the summer.

I thought Gerrard looked good today, if unspectacular. Linked up well and got back to defend. Assaidi looks a bargain

Not football related, but Sahin looks like a young elvis. Could make himself a few extra quid as tribute act on the Liverpool club circuit if he can sing.

That's mad ! & true ! Thank you for the titter! Ha ha!

So far wisdom and assaidi have been the stand out players.. the futures bright

Hey lfc fans

Rogers has turned us into arsenal a few yrs ago

Pass pass pass..hardly shooting... AND NOBODY EVER IN THE BOX

Just watch as soon as the ball is wide.... No one is in the box we will never score enough with this type of play

Red lobster

Also I don't mean this game..all of them

No one's in the box or shooting because we haven't got a proper striker on the pitch

Bang on there lad fazak lfc

This is true, but so is the reply. It's genuinely because everytime we whip it in no one will be a threat anyway. Has Suarez even scored a headed goal? We need a striker ASAP. I will be fuming if we faff around in jan looking at other areas. 1 quality striker and where done till the summer.

25 Oct 2012 20:27:09
Assaidi is ready for 1st team, really exciting player and get him in the EPL to get more experience, his final ball/pass needs work but makes all the right moves otherwise.
BR has such a good team and its coming together, I see good things coming.
Good to see Yesil on bench and hope he gets a go.
Suarez is our new god, he is class so far tonight.

Hi Eds,

Any chance of John Barnes coming back? I realise he's gettin old nd fat not but a few weeks on the treadmill he'll be back to his best. what do u reckon great mentor for our wide players and could maybe do a job up front

FalsaRed {Ed023's Note - He's in better shape than Adam}

LOOOOOOOL BETTER shape then Adam

Cant do any worse than downing

25 Oct 2012 17:30:20
Why do I keep seeing 'maybe Torres will come back'. People who say these things obviously don't know much, lets be fair we got the best deal out of his situation, shame we pissed 35 mil on Carroll. The problem with our team and what has been for a while is that we buy about 20 different players to get 1 decent one out of it all. We need to really get some research done before we spend stupid cash

Hence k.k and comoli bin shown the door

25 Oct 2012 16:29:05
Jordan Ibe rejected Man United and Man City to sign for Liverpool, even though Man City offered his family a house and car.

Respect!

Aneesh

Everton offered Jack Rodwell £250,000 in cash upfront to sign him at 17. Its not just City who throw money at kids! RC {Ed023's Note - Made a profit in the long run didn't they. Also remember what LFC paid for Sterling}

25 Oct 2012 18:13:06
He's the kInda lad we want to keep on board, not only an awesome player with loads of potential, but he knows what it means to play in the red shirt

Yes because he will get in your team but wouldnt any top team, what does that say about you lot ha ha ha.

25 Oct 2012 16:20:57
Whats happened to Doni? swear he was brought in for our main back up but never seen him play for us {Ed002's Note - And you won't. I would expect him to be released fairly soon.}

What actually happened to doni? Thansk eds {Ed002's Note - WE are not interested in gossip nor "prison" talk.}

But ed why has he just upped and left, did he not want to be here or was there a falling out, im not saying anything sinister has happened However he is a Liverpool player and should really be .......... Well in Liverpool!

25 Oct 2012 16:10:21
theo walcott rejected a 5 year deal worth 75k pw as he wants 100k pw

Liverpool can easily offer him between 85k-100k as he wouldn't cost much to bring in. plus he is young and just what we need.

chelsea has torres, sturiddge, hazard, marin, moses and are looking to bring in a established CF with falcao and higuain as targets.

why would he go to Chelsea who wouldn't guarantee him playing time over the same amount of money and playing time and in the position he wants to play in which is no10.

25 Oct 2012 16:09:03
More news coming out of Chelsea about how Torres still loves Liverpool FC. Is it time we buried the hatchet and welcomed him back for £15M

If u look at the schedule, Chelsea are visiting Anfield in 3 weeks, so he is trying to lure the fans in order to not get rubbishe

Did you mean £1.5M ? as he is nowhere near worth £15 million.

You'r living in the past,he's not the player he was when he first came to anfield. better off spending the £15 mill on wages for walcott

I think you are absolutely right!

I'd welcome him back if they paid us 15m

I hope you meant £1.5 million cos that's all he's worth at the moment
Huddz red

Why is he coming to anfield? The games at there place isn't it?

Yeh he is still worth that cut him doeth he still not bleed red

Between the lines, he is far from the player we had, maybe in the red shirt he would become world class! We will never know as it won't happen!
Would I welcome him back... No we must continue moving forward fellow reds.

25 Oct 2012 15:43:19
Ed any chance of Ngoo, Morgan, Yesil, Paceco involved tonight and therefore'The Derby'? {Ed002's Note - I have yet to decide who will play tonight.}

Lol nice one ed

How would a bloody Chelsea fan know what the team will be? If you can't answer the question, then don't. {Ed002's Note - Another shaven-headed, lager-swilling, pot-bellied, tattooed, knuckle-dragger sticks his pock-marked face above the parapet to share his wisdom.}

How do you know that thats martin skrtel ed?

Lol ed very detailed

Gee man

Ha ha ha love the Banter, that's what this site is about.

25 Oct 2012 15:27:11
Ed02

Fair enough bud. Maybe I was a little harsh there. Point about this europa league is that it's regarded without disdain by the top clubs, who rather see it as a hindrance more than anything else. Thats fact, regardless what you and me think.

If they could be bothered fat cat Platini and his cronies could improve its attractiveness.
Like say, the winner goes straight into the champions league group stages and runner up enters into a qualifying round.
There would be incentive then for participants to take it seriously and I would think it would generate more interest than it currently does.
Has such an option been looked at ed? If no why not? Whats your view yourself? You happy with the format as it is?

geronimo {Ed002's Note - Which "top clubs" treat it with "disdain"?}

Totally agree with that I think they should make the UEFA Cup more by making the winner progress into the champions league {Ed002's Note - Would you trade that for England having only three places?}

Personally Ed I would be more than happy for the Europa league winners to get a champions league spot. In fact I would only give CL spaces to league winners and cup winners so England would get 3 spaces
League winners
FA cup winners
League cup winners
I would make this the same for all countries in the CL then you actually have a CHAMPIONS league

Chris in Tamworth {Ed002's Note - There are not many countries that have a League Cup Chris and do you really think the Slovenian cup winners deserve a place. If Liverpool were in the top four I am sure you would not be clutching at such straws Chris.}

Yes id trade it {Ed002's Note - Ok, another question. Would you trade the 2004/05 Champions League title for it? Liverpool would not have won the Champions League in 2004/05 if you traded that fourth spot - because they would not have been entered?}

If those were the rules Ed, we would have to live with them.
Personally this isn't about Liverpool, I just think it would be the correct way to go about having a so called champions league.
It would give every club in europe a chance of qualifying by maybe having a good cup run etc.. It might make the so called lesser cups worth putting stronger sides in and make it more of a spectical.
Just my thoughts.

Phooey...

25 Oct 2012 17:51:56
In cup games you may not know. The likes of Cardiff (no disrespect) can win the league or fa cup. This will make champions league less attractive. But surely AW and Arsenal will oppose the idea of chris.
st
ynwa

Totally agree with you Chris mate, It should be the CHAMPIONS league.
So yes the winners of the Euoropa should go straight into next years champions league pot.
Also i think it is wrong that the teams that get knocked out of the champions league drop into the europa league.

Phooey...

Honestly Ed I am not clutching at straws I honestly and genuinely (been saying it for about 12 years) believe that all the cup winners (ie champions) should join the league champions in the "Chamions League" from all over Europe whoever they may be. It is quite simply the ONLY way it will really be a Champions League.
I'm aware that England have one more cup competition than most and on that basis I would allow all countries to make sure they have 2 cup competitions if they so wish.

Chris in Tamworth {Ed002's Note - That is OK Chris if you are wiloling to give away 2005.}

Personally I would have:

EPL - CL spot 1
FA Cup - CL spot 2
EPL runner up - CL spot 3
League Cup - spot 4

Previous season's CL takes first spot and League Cup drops into EL if CL winner is an EPL team. EL winner should have a chance at a CL spot by winning Super Cup...

EL spots given to 3rd, 4th and the team
with the best disciplinary record :-P

I think it would give more importance to the domestic cup competitions, and reward the teams who actually achieve something during the season - 4th place is only an achievement as it gains CL football, but in reality it's not achieving anything...

Also, teams don't treat the EL with disdain, it's something used by opposing supporters to discredit teams playing in it. The way I see it we need to look like we can win the EL before even thinking we have a shot at the CL.

Cheers guys

25 Oct 2012 14:20:14
Ed why is Brendan Rodgers playing our key players tonight in this non-descript eurapo league with the derby just 3 days away? This is a compo for also-rans... not crowning jewel of British football and european giant.
Its a disgrace an institution of our virtue, prestige and standing should participate in this farce with fodder like machakakala, young boys.
Diminishes our stature and reduces us to some bloody caricature.
Im wondering ed, can clubs refuse to participate in this competitions? How much we gonna get winning this compo?

geronimo {Ed002's Note - That is a Dear Brendan question I cannot answer. A club can indeed agree not to take part in UEFA competitions but it would mean excluding yourselves from teh Champions League. So you think Liverpool should get autmatic qualification to the Champions League then? Pretty embarrassing stuff I am afraid.}

You are the disgrace, wind your neck in.

And if we lose tonight will you still have the same ridiculous opinion?

I'm sure Atletico Madrid wish they had pulled out last year when they won it, then they might not have earned the money to sign the players that are helping them keep joint top this season. I don't see the problem the Uefa Cup before it was renamed used to be a good competition and at the moment this is the level of European football we are at and I'm sure if we won it most fans although it isn't first choice would be pleased to win a European competition albeit the Europa League

It's not all about money it's about pride an 2 win games everytime u put the shirt on u apsaloot joke post tha plse. fazak lfc

We are LFC and we need to put trophies in the cabinet. At the end of the day there is only two European trophies on offer. We play all year round to qualify. It means too much just to throw away.

Mighty reds

What chance does brendan rogers have when u get people like geronimo, say he rests all the senior players and the youngsters get tonked at anfield tonight I guarantee that u will be on this site screaming what is rogers doing another comp we are out off and sack him cos we are going nowhere, let him do his job, he's the one who picks the team and we as fans support him so let's do our job and support him then

25 Oct 2012 14:09:46
There seems to be a trend amongst first and academy strikers to hit the ball AT rather then AWAY from the keeper.
Maybe during training we need 3 keepers - shoot at the right and left side keeper and they will always step aside - shoot at the middle keeper and he will always try to save.

Surely we keep aiming at the posts and bar? I blame Soccer AM and all that crossbar challenge nonsense!

Thomas

Eds, Macca,
Personally I don't see Chelsea signing Falcao in January. I can't see Atletico doing business for their star player half-way through the season, although as a summer transfer it's definitely viable. So... let's say Falcao does go to Chelsea, could you see Torres coming back. I've just found a quote from Gianfranco Zola who said something along the lines of "Torres doesn't love Chelsea. You can buy his services but you cannot buy his love for Liverpool." Having him up front with the creative talent of Suarez and the telepathic understanding he's got with Stevie, I could see us actually challenging. Any chances?
Also, Xabi Alonso would love to come back to Liverpool and if he leaves Madrid in the summer I'm sure he'd come back in a heartbeat, even if he'd have to take a pay-cut, but it would depend how much. It would also depend on whether Rodgers would want him (how could you not?)
Severance

3-0 to Everton
suarez selected for diving competitions worldwide

Brilliant, how about Babel, Bellamy, or perhaps we can ask Jason MacAteer to sing up again. Move on

Torres loves and only ever loved one club and that's Atletico Madrid, so don't go kidding yourself that Liverpool is the club he loves.

4-0 to liverpool and jelavic and mirallas selected for the European diving team

What is the current situation on Sterling's contract talks?

Anything in the pipeline? {Ed002's Note - When he is old enough to sign a long term deal I am sure he will.}

I thought once you're 17 you can sign a professional contract....which he is on?

GuvTOB {Ed002's Note - The rules changed a while back. He counts as a child until 18.}

A bloody good child at that!

Schone - free
Sana - 250k
De Jong - youth product
Babel - free (originally an Ajax youth product)

A lot to be said for having the infrastructure in place for developing youths.
At LFC we're fortunate to have a Manager who believes in the acadamy and has the confidence to bring young players into the first team, whether by design (Sterling) or necessity (Wisdom).

Digger

Correct it's the right way to go about things, they've also got that fantastic youngster victor Fischer Ajax are a great blue print to follow they have been for years.

Square tomato

And a previous manager with the foresight to build the infrastructure

They won the champions league with a team of youths in 93-94 didnt they? Litmanen, van der sar, davids and so on!

Hi Ed 002. {Ed002's Note - Put it in a post and I will deal with it if I can without posting.}

25 Oct 2012 12:57:17
hi eds ive heard that br is really impressed with a young player called nacho and may look to give him some experience in the cup games do you know anything of this? {Ed002's Note - Nope.}

I believe that Nacho is not long back in training after a bad injury. He and Marco Bueno scored a lot of goals between them while on trial in pre-season 2011/12 - Nacho signed and Bueno supposedly signed a pre-contract but hasn't been heard of since especially as he is now a regular for Pacucha in Mexico.
Ben Terug

Nacho is highly rated at the academy but hasn't played a lot due to injuries. he needs in run of games.

Just a couple of questions for the Ed's. Obviously any one else is free to answer as well! Do you think we are experiencing a 'golden age' of youngsters coming through, ie- Suso, Sterling, Ibe, Sinclair etc, or is our youth academy and youth recruitment set up so that we will continue to produce players of similar qualities?
Another question is what has happened to English football? 4 or 5 years ago, Liverpool, United, Chelsea and Arsenal were all beating top sides. I know we have had problems with owners, players leaving etc so our downfall in Europe can be expected and perhaps similar things can be said of Arsenal. But despite all the money of city and the prestige and experience of United, neither side seem to preform very well against European opposition. I know Chelsea won the cup last year, and no disrespect to them, but they never out played anyone in the later stages in my opinion. When Liverpool were in their prime under Benitez, I'd have counted ourselves, Chelsea, United, Arsenal, Bayern, Barca and Madrid as the top 7 clubs in Europe. Now, Bayern, Dortmund, Atletico, Barca, Madrid, Juventus, Ajax, Porto, PSG and Milan all look much stronger in my opinion. The so called 'smaller' teams also tend to get results against English teams now. Now I've said all of this, Chelsea will probably retain it haha! And good luck to all of them, we want English football to be the top league. So Ed's, fellow red's, what do you think has caused this shift in power?
Thanks
Daniel YNWA.

since trickett smith came in i have been very impressed, him and j sinclair upfront for the u18's looks class!
anyone else agree!

billynwa

Totally, I think they should also let Jordan Ibe play more for the u18's he looks different class at that level (we might have another Sterling on our hands)

The future is very bright for LFC!!

Why we as liverpool fans have turned bitter. Its very dissapointing that we are now praying or wishing other teams to struggle or enjoy when they loose rather then praying or wishing our own team to do better.
For some time I have seen some posters bashing Abramovich for no reason. Why slate a man who tries to do best for his club is it jealousy? We were known for our class and reaspect for other clubs. Some fans say we are cursed that we play so well but don't win but ask your self when you wish bad for other teams then what you expect

The views of the "fans" on this site do not represent the views of 99% of the fans in general.

MIKEY

Yes mikey i completely agree!

billynwa

Sorry but I don't buy into this opinion whatsoever. I respect and enjoy watching other teams, but strategically speaking of course I want certain teams to lose. I wanted Arsenal to lose against Norwich, now we are only 3 points behind them. Does that make me less of a 'fan' than you? No it doesn't. I love LFC and am 100% behind them every match, but being happy that another team loses doesn't make me a particularly worse fan - it makes me happy because it means LFC can go further up the table.

JFT 96

JP

Abramovich is helping to ruin football. It's not jealousy, it's disappointment that there is no longer a level playing field and that titles and competitions are being bought by the highest bidder {Ed002's Note - If it were as simple as that the league tables would reflect the money spent and that is certainly not the case.}

I kind of agree with JP, the original post talks about having respect for other fans and teams but hes on here slagging of our own fans. Liverpool are not the glorious team they once were and fans cannot simply hope for liverpool to be better, whether you like it or not LFC are reliant on other team slipping up. I think we should continue being respectful but also understand its differnet times and things have changed - this however does not mean your are a better fan for not voicing your concerns.

My point after a long rant is each to their own.

Igor Biscan

JP I with you on this one mate.

Sry jp mate but posting and enjoying when man city or arsenal or chelsea loose in champions league which even don't concern us is embarrassing

Of course, I had a little giggle last night with the results from the Champions League, but at least those teams are in there to cock it up! Chelsea seemed to have the nucleus of a good team before Roman came along, Man City have been far worse throwing money around in transfers and ridiculous wages, but the problem is the money in the game in general, Far to high wages etc. I have always believed that earnings should be capped/banded and dependent on the league you play in, and player values should be determined on the same basis, so a player playing for any team in the Premier League, would be in band A, in the championship band b etc. (but set and standard bonuses for International Caps, and final league and cup competition performance etc.) If all teams had to pay the same fees and wage more teams would have a chance, making the league and cup comps much more interesting.

El Diablo

To the unnamed poster, who said anything about posting when a team loses? I didn't, nor would I. My point was that in today's game positions can be switched on the hanging of just one or two points. It's a lot tighter than it has been before, and as a consequence of that I watch other games more closely to see how it will affect our position in the table. If a team loses who we're near to in terms of points and we win then good, we go up a notch in the table. Ultimately, I'm happy when a team loses which as a result has a direct positive effect for our club. I'm sure there are others on here who feel like this too. It doesn't make us bad fans, I think it's just a realistic outlook on the PL at the moment.

JFT 96

JP

So the fact that Man city and Chelsea have spent more than any other team in the premier league over the last 5-10 years doesn't have any bearing on the fact they are league and European champions respectively?

hey eds!

Hemed from mallorca looks our best bet .. a website are onto that story think its got a very good chance of happening ..

hes bangin them in in La Liga

are you convinced by him ?.. hes cheap and probably a strong option .. Maybe you could do a profile on him!

thanks {Ed002's Note - If you want a profile, ask on the profile pages.}

25 Oct 2012 10:17:14
this is a question for any of the eds,now before anyone starts i'm not slating or dissing BR but i'm interested to know have liverpool at any time tried to or been close to appointing guus hiddink as manager as he's probably the 1 man out there i would have loved to have seen manage us and i think the respect anzhi paid to the memorial yesterday was probably down to this guy,class act and great coach.

thanks paul d {Ed002's Note - No, Liverpool have never tried to sign or be close to signing Hiddink.}

Just wanted to know why Assaidi was not getting much game time in the league games, I understand Sterling is doing well and I'm not saying we should drop him. I just found it a strange decision to bring Joe cole on instead of him (can't recall which game it was). He seems a bit light but then again so is suso and sterling. is he not 100% fit? Coz what I've seen of him has been decent so far, he runs at players his quick and can open up team easily. Your thoughts eds? Leem {Ed002's Note - I cannot say why Rodgers picks the players he does, sorry.}

I am not an Ed

But Ic can tell you why BR does what he does its because he is inexperienced and is better at talking and manipulation the media than playing football

Maybe BR wants to sell Cole on and the only way to get appropriate interest is to put him in the shop window,

More important to choose the best player for the team, not play someone just to put them in thw "shop window". Jdog

Ajax, including a couple of Liverpool cast offs, Poulsen and Babel, hammered Man City last night. Really showed them how to play.

SO!! Your point???

A lot of specualation is surrounding Holtby of Shalke at the moment, any chance of us being interested in Draxler the Attacking Midfielder, could easily play either side of Suarez, and could be a good option if Suarez starts to bag goals, and hold down his position in the centre. Your opinion Ed's? {Ed063's Note - He would cost an awful lot and is a self confessed Everton fan. No chance in my opinion}

Agree with Ed

Everton fan here, in peace He wouldn't cost an awful lot Ed063 as his contract is up next summer therefore is free to discuss a free transfer in Jan or maybe available for a few mil

25 Oct 2012 05:11:55
Whats all this hype about Jordan ibe? I saw him pre season didn't look like he had what it takes!
People talking bout Ngoo to... Is this just cuz we've givin youngsters a chance this season or are they actually good? {Ed063's Note - He's like 16 dude}

There's also a clue in the fact it was pre-season...

Len

He won't be 17 till December. He's going to be a hell of a player IMO if he keeps progressing. Thats why I'm glad Brendan Rodgers is manager, he knows how to bring the kids thru. 3 years from now with the kids maturing we'll have a beautiful mix and I'm will to wait until then to rule the EPL . It's in the youth. YNWA

It's a mouth-watering prospect Chi-Paul mate, I really can't wait to see the young lads coming through the ranks in a few seasons & a just a wee tad impatient in that respect!

hi eds just a quick question but what do you think about matias suarez? could he improve our squad and would he be expensive? from what i have seen of him he would be worth a gamble if the price was right {Ed063's Note - He would definitely improve our team but would be very expensive}

He ain't no good ed just another donkey we don't need !

25 Oct 2012 02:47:33
hi eds what ever happened to david texiera? we were linked with him alot in the summer so was it a case of br just not wanting him or something else {Ed063's Note - I think it was a case of people mistaking him for Jaoa Texiera - whom we did sign}

24 Oct 2012 23:45:15
Ed would u see us buying either Holtby, sama, draxler or isco in January {Ed063's Note - well we already own sama...}

Buy Sama that's funny

i think Sama needs to get first team experience in France or Belgium or Bundesliga 2

Probably meant Sana

I honestly believe that the government need to stop putting the Premier league at a disadvantage against other clubs. I mean look at Porto signed Falcao, Inter getting Alvarez & Coutinho, where as if a Premier league does buy a player like this then they have to loan them out until they qualify as a European player. I am pretty sure that if the Premier league teams sat down with the government and explained that if they had the ability to use none EU players then more spectators from their respective countries would buy merchandising. Merchandising equals more tax for the club to pay and that is what the government is bothered about over everything else. how does the special talent exemption work ed's?
Scouse_Pride {Ed001's Note - if you can prove a player is a special talent then you can get a work permit for him. It is to try and cut back on all the dross getting in just because they are cheaper. The line has to be drawn somewhere, most of those players would have got work permits.}

Rubbish!too many players coming into the leauges if you ask me.
NAVANRED

A young south American player is a lot more likely to go to a country like Spain or portugal anyway. The culture and language is a lot less daunting than moving to England. They are moving thousands of miles for a job, they are going to want it to be as stress less as possible.
We are lucky to have Coates.

Just buy Huntelaar in January...who cares if he is 29...hes a proven goalscorer...he would light up the kop no doubt...for christ sake he keeps van persie out of the dutch squad..says enough

jambomb

You must be talking about Paddy Van Persie cos his cousin Robin started, scored and played the full 90 minutes in Hollands last World Cup qualifier while Huntelaar sat on the bench the entire game collecting splinters.

I agree....he still has 3 years of top class in him.

History is one thing but future is another. It all comes round in a circle. Its WAS our day and it WILL be again. We had a dynasty then it was Fergie. He is retiring soon and it's no coincidence that Brendan has come in now. He is definitely one for the future. The league will be swapped between 4 teams and we will be one of the 4 teams. As long as we are in the champions league places (and I hate that as I am old school and think that it should be the top team that eats at the top table, but thats UEFA nowadays). The main thing is that we are there and there abouts and win the title now and again to keep the momentum going and the fan base growing. The future of football is money and as long as the money id flowing in we will have no problems. FSG are the owners that will see us through as long as it as level playing field.

The future is bright. The future is RED.

first time going to anfield tomorrow, anyone know how easy parking is around the stadium or got any decent tips? i know not transfer related but itd be great if you could post

Yep and don't eat yellow snow

We used to park at Four Oak School (think that's the name) on
Walton Breck Rd, a good few years back. Not too long a walk from there but dont know what they charge today.

Chi-Paul

Try to find a proper carpark, dont just dump the car on a side street or you will find when you get back to it a gang of youths scavving cash from you for looking after you car!

scott derby

Residents car parking in the streets around the ground good car park in utting avenue where the school used to be

Dont take the car...public transport is fun on match days.

Feels like we might be at a turning point right now.

A win against Anzhi tonight and another win against Everton on Sunday could be what the squad needs.

Those 2 wins could build confidence in BR and the squad to go on with it, as we know we can.

Come on lads, were behind ya'.

Lee

Unfortunantly that is not what the script is.

24 Oct 2012 22:44:27
Had to laugh and agree with Gary Nevilles assessment of Ryan Babbel tonight, from his days when he played against him. He said "he alway's played as if his feet were arguing with the ball".Could'nt agree more.

The man can control a ball further than I can kick it...

Ryan would do good for us now and he did good when he played for us , chelsea ,arsenal , and a lot more spring to mind ynwa

And Gary Neville was really skilful? Er No..

Babel was a disappoint no doubt.

In Eds opinion will Yesil, Ngoo, or Morgan feature tomorrow night? Merely to see what their made of whilst we struggle for goals {Ed001's Note - I think one will get a game at least.}

Yesil will be on the bench
