I was at the match, but I was the opposite side and didn't see the tackle. But you could tell from the reaction of the Irish supporters that it was a bad and nasty one.

Hey Ed002, question for ya.
Can players be guilty of tapping other players up? It seems like a major problem in today's game, and you've mentioned our club being responsible for it on a few occasions. I'm just wondering why players aren't more closely restricted when it comes to this. for instance, Neymar on coutinho. Every time there is a national break it gets brought up. (I seem to remember Gerard being accused a few times) .
I guess I'm more curious as to what's considered tapping up, and who can get in trouble for it?

{Ed002's Note - It is a questionable area. They cannot be charged neither can the club but I am aware of players being told not to talk about players from other sides. As I explained last year, Neymar spoke openly aboput Coutinho but Coutinho had spoken to four international players about opportunities at PSG and Barcelona. The situation with Gerrard was far more serious as he admitted calling other players who he didn't know on behalf of Liverpool at the request of the then manager - and that could have resulted in charges to the club and, in that case, the DF of a player.
In terms of getting in to trouble the charges would typically be made against the club and potentially the individuals involved. Again, as I have explained, Liverpool got away with two warnings last year - if they continue with their attempts to tap up players they will be in serious trouble. There will be no more options for two directors of the club to lay a grovellinf trail of slime whilst apologising as they did once before.}

A lot if the time people are not even asking about players we are rumoured to want. They are just plucking a name from their career mode on FIFA and sending in "any interest in this guy" posts.
It fills the page with rubbish and wastes everyone time.
I do agree though, it is shocking how people just abuse players we are actually interested in. Nothing wrong with doubts, constructive criticism etc. Done people have clearly never watched these players though judging by their posts and it usually just descends to vitriol or continuous slagging off on here.

Agree! Some people ask some rubbish, a random name they see late on tv one night and get MOTD fever. Annoys me too, often makes we wonder the age and mindset of some fans.

Really feels great knowing we have TAA for many many years at right back, matter of when not if now before he takes over from Clyne, great pace great delivery, reading of the game is brilliant too, Klopp must love him. On a side note hope Seamus Coleman makes a speedy recovery from that horrific injury.
