I just want to wish Harry Kewell the best of luck for his retirement! It was sad his Liverpool career was over shadowed by injuries! But he still gave his all for the club he supported as a boy! Highlight reel showed his immense potential!

Dale

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - gave his all? I must have blinked and missed that moment!}

Lol!!!
i just gave myself a hernia
laughing!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - sounds like Kewell's Anfield career there, described very well Mike.}

I remember when Carra was asked about injuries and he basically said he has to be 100% unfit not to play, as opposed to the like of Mr Kewell who only liked to play when 100% fit. (Yes, I do remember 05 final, but it was the CL final, who wouldn't want to play?)

Agree0 Disagree0

Eds you have aurelio in your Liverpool best 11 in prem era! Yet he was never on the park! All I was doing was wishing him luck. I agree he didn't live up to the hype but can't agree with your opinion about lack of trying! I read on here about lack of support daily!.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Aurelio was actually injured, not a whiny little git who cried off with injury for every little thing. There is a huge difference. Aurelio was made of glass and couldn't even play footy with his kids without hurting himself. Kewell was a lazy get who never got fit. There are players who deserve support, then there are the Collymores, Ruddocks and Kewells of this world, who deserve nothing. Though Kewell wasn't as bad as the other two being fair. He is more like Aquilani, decent talent but was far too busy whining about every little thing to actually play footie. At least Aurelio was genuinely injured when he was out.}

Fair enough fellas

Agree0 Disagree0

I took SWMBO to a match once and she even commented on kewell saying why is he stood on the half way line with his hands on his hips while the ball is way over there.

Agree0 Disagree0

I couldn't stand the fella

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - me mam just said to me, "what do you mean he is retiring next month? He retired the day he signed for us didn't he?" I think that sums it up, he was lazy, feigned injury, didn't care and didn't try. A complete waste of talent.}

Harry Kewel he only plays in champions league finals

Eamon Dunphy

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair enough I'd of been about 9 but I loved harry kewell but obviously I didn't know much back then anyway!

Agree0 Disagree0

The only good thing Kewell done in his football career was to retire.
Money grabber!

Agree0 Disagree0

Forgive my lack of knowledge here but Ed1 can you tell me what the issue with ruddock was/is? I wasn't a fan of Collymore or Kewell but I didn't mind Ruddock! My biggest issue with Kewell was the CL final! Going off cause he bottled it saying he had a leg issue then sprinting second only to carra when celebrating! He should have walked up to Vladi and Didi to thank them for getting him out the mess his lack of interest and bottle helped get us into!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Ruddock was a pain off the pitch. Too much partying, not just drinking binges, on the eve of games, such as the cup final against Man Utd, when he got dropped and then had the cheek to moan in all the papers. He was lucky his excesses were covered up, the fat *censored*. He could have taught Mutu a thing or two about the party lifestyle.}

hey reds I am coming from australia and I was supposed to have tickets but it fell through
does anyone know where I can get 2 or 3 tickets

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Aussie I think you'll really struggle to get them via the main networks now. Try special ticket sites etc

Agree0 Disagree0

You may want to add Match Tickets no touts on facebook, a lot of fans of all clubs are selling or even in some cirrcumstances giving away match tickets for free rather than allow touts to make a coin off each club, I kno personally some people who have gotten tickets from the site, a few of my lower blue mates got free tickets for Newcastle away last night, by mates I obvs mean at the bottom of my shoe haha, jokes, give it a go, I only mentioned this as I kno we have a lot of travelkling fabns who don't always get the chance to get tickets and hope that this site or fb page can be of help to those who find it!

City were never going to lose to Manchester United and I also think they'll beat Arsenal too. They will slip up against the lesser opposition like Southampton, Villa and Everton.
Keep the faith

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 Mar 2014 07:55:35
They Beat Arsenal and Arsenal would drop out from Top4, They beat Everton and Everton would miss the Europe.
If City Loose or draw against these teams, We win the title.

Agree0 Disagree0

City are certainly the favourites.
However - everyone loves an underdog!

Hey guys, just wondering if you had a choice of Arsenal or Everton in the champion's League, who would you pick?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Everton - Arsenal are the greater threat long term so if they are out of the CL it makes them less attractive to players that may also be of interest to us

Agree0 Disagree0

Arsenal, I despise everton

Agree0 Disagree0

Arsenal over the bitters any day!
due to their supporters having more class! and the fact they always play good football!
however I don't like wenger much! brilliant at spoting talent (henry, fabregas ect. )
but seems to have an excuse for every loss! which is irritating!

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Mar 2014 07:58:42
Arsenal whole life

Agree0 Disagree0

Given 3 of evertons best players this season are loanees. I'd rather see Arsenal in the champions league. Everton would need Rom, Deo and Barry to try and be simply competetive. Arsenal have the squad to make teams a little scared.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Mar 2014 10:11:20
Bobarton

Barry would end up at everton, Lukaku future is up in the air, can't see him returning to Chelsea and with CL, he would continue at Everton.
. ONLY AND ONLY IF EVERTON HAS MONEY.

Ed001 can you think of a player in the premier league that you really like but wouldn't want at Liverpool? Mine would be Snodgrass, anyone other posters think of any?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - certainly not Snodgrass, he takes average to a whole new level. I can't think of one off the top of my head, sorry, I am sure there must be one or two though.}

LOL. I like Snodgrass as well for some weird reason. My other one is Albrighton. I really like the kid although I really have no idea why.

Agree0 Disagree0

He is average which makes Norwich look even worse this season haha

Agree0 Disagree0

For me, that player would be Youssouf Mulumbu. Really like him, but not sure if he would improve our squad so much.

Another choice? Not a player, but I can certainly think of a manager (clue- he's a football genius!)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I have to admit, the Moyesiah is growing on me more and more as the season goes on too. It takes some amount of brilliance to spend £68m on two players and not have a clue what to do with them.}

Crouchy for obvious reasons :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Also purely because we don't need him but I'm a big fan of koseilny too, Moyes could make messi look bad at the moment I mean can they really trust him with transfers in the future?

Agree0 Disagree0

Or to take the Champions, add £70M in players, and then subsequently finish below your old club.

I'd say United have been Moyedered. (apologies, just couldn't help myself)

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed001, when did I say David Moyes? I was obviously talking about Gary Megson!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - you couldn't possibly mean him as everyone would want him given the chance!}

You're right Edward 001. You have to love the spirit at Manchester United. The only thing is, Fergie drank it all before he left!

Agree0 Disagree0

To leave Everton and then for the first time in PL history they finish above united is beyond hilarious if it happens!

Agree0 Disagree0

I know he's playing mata out wide which isn't his favoured position, but what has he done, zip! Due respect to moyes for selling a sub for nearly 40 million to be fair to him. Pains me to say that. Many other players just haven't performed at all. They have to take some of the responsibility.

Agree0 Disagree0

When he was still playing PL football it would have been Taarabt, hands down. Now probably David De Gea

Agree0 Disagree0

Huddleston, I think he's a good player when given a chance to play, but wouldn't be an improvement on our 2 holding mids now

Agree0 Disagree0

Weimann, much like Lallana of last year, plays really well every time I watch him live, so could in theory have a Lallana-type season where his value heightens to >£20m. That said he seems to be subbed every other game and receive a 4/5 match rating so I doubt he'd benefit the team in anyway

Agree0 Disagree0

The player I really like is Tomas Rosicky.
I would not want him at Liverpool as I feel we have better options.

hi guys just wondered if joe allan has managed to change peoples minds about having a future at the club for what its worth I think he's a good player that will get better

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I always believe he had enough quality to make it as a Liverpool player and he is showing it now. We only need to see how mentally capable he is, when things aren't going well. Personally I think he will be a valuable player in the years to come.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm still not sure about him to be fair
I'm sure many will tell me I'm wrong including Ed001 but I'm not sure he's got that little bit of something extra that can make the big difference
I'll be happy to be proved wrong though

Agree0 Disagree0

He is a decent squad player.

Red Rum

Agree0 Disagree0

He is a fantastic player. Everyone will see his worth over the next few seasons.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think in the next two seasons he will have to improve his decision making; when it goes right he looks amazing, however sometimes it doesn't go right - however he is still v young and looks like a strong player capable of direct running and looking good in an attacking team.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think if he stays injury free for a season he will show that he will be a very valuable team member.

Agree0 Disagree0

The joe allen that played against man city in his fist game is still his best game still imo he need to play like that more but I can't fault him this season just the miss at everton really

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally I don't rate him . I understand he keeps playing thinking over and is intelligent when closing down the spaces but other than that I don't think he offers anything more. If suso was to come back I'd like him to be coached to press and keep play ticking over as Allen does, but what suso offers more of is a greater offensive threat! Allen offers nothing going forward I feel he has no killer pass and his finishing is bad . Suso can play the final ball and shoot a lot better also he has a better turn of pace . I could never see Liverpool recouping half of that £15 million back either! Wouldn't see many interested in a high price . If Brendan coach nurture suso defensively I think he could be ten times the player off allen

Agree0 Disagree0

I still don't think he's good enough for champions league footy. Still to weak, turns 180 far to often and passes back. Just don't think he has any dynamism to win us matches. I THINK He'll be found desperately wanting at the next level if we get champions league. He's not exactly setting the world alight going forward either.

Agree0 Disagree0

I really rate him.
I can see him doing the same thing Hendo has done (Given a good amount of game time)
Think his pressing and positional play is amazing.
Really think if he proves us wrong he can be a fan favourite!
Just needs to work on his shooting.

(In my opinion)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Home-Fan,

I'm starting to agree with you mate, lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Unlucky DG, I don't mind where you lot finish (as long as it's behind us :P), I've got a lot of respect for Arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree0

BigRedF,

mate, we were shocking tonight but nearly pulled a result out of the bag.

Hi Eds,
I know financial questions aren't necessarily a favorite topic, but was discussing City recently and someone mentioned that City have 100% ownership of image rights of their players (thus one reason for the City players unusually high salaries). Doing some cursory research, this appears to be correct. Do any other teams in the PL negotiate for ownership of image rights in this fashion? It wasn't something I was aware of being done in the EPL so was a bit of a surprise to me at least.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - the image rights are always involved in the contract negotiations these days. Very few clubs get all 100% of them though.}

25 Mar 2014 18:07:26
Looking at our fixtures, I feel as though we're going to be considered favourites for every one of them, which is obviously good. However, after winning 6 in a row, and having 8 left, it just seems too unrealistic for us to win 14 games in a row - then again, never say never.

On the plus side, city have got to play united, Everton, arsenal and of course, us away from home, which will be no easy task, as their away form suggests. Hands up if you could imagine wanting united and Everton to win at the beginning of the season!

Chelsea have the easiest run of fixtures on paper. I hope they make it through to the semis of the champions league. Every distraction will be all the more welcome by us.

Arsenal will surely prioritise the FA cup now that it looks unlikely they will win the league, and also have to play at Everton, so it looks like Everton are going to have a massive say on our final finishing position!

All in all, let's not forget we've made tremendous strides this season, and even finishing third would be a brilliant achievement for BR and the lads.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Arsenal will prioitise the Champs League IMO - look at their form since Wenger joined them; Champs League = players wanting to join - FA CUP is good (not undermining it) but the money and prestige is in the Champs League IMO.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Mar 2014 18:07:09
First off squawka has 4 reds in the team of the season no arsenal or utd players. Finally I can flip the script and tell my brother no utd Player would get a shout in our squad! Secondly who would you rather see get a place on the bench suso or texeira assuming only eh two of them were in contention

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Suso 100%. He is a lot better than teixeira. Suso will no doubt be a huge star in a few years, not saying teixeira won't but I'm more excited by Suso

Agree0 Disagree0

I used to like poyet but he has pi55ed me of today saying with out Suarez we would be mid table we were flying first 6 games with out him and hey do people not realisd with out him we will have 70million or more like rogers has helped Suarez become a better player to if you ask me especially his finishing

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I used to like poyet too until I seen that I was wanting him to keep sunderland up but now I hope he's flushed lije the turd he is hopefully we can help to put them in more trouble

Agree0 Disagree0

Flushed line the turd he is : D Love it giblet!

Agree0 Disagree0

Abolute person!
We have got an awesome team at the moment.
And I think it is quite difficult to find weaknesses in the starting 11.
We just need to bulk up the numbers to gain a better bench

(In my opinion)

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Mar 2014 17:59:12
It took a few JD and cokes but I am finally able to say I hope united win

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Mar 2014 17:58:27
Poyet "Liverpool would be a mid table team if it weren't for Suarez" & he wished he gets "ill" before the game.
Id hate to have a bitter manager in charge of our club.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Poyet is a nice guy, he supported Suárez in the Evra case and always seems decent. I disagree with him, but he does have a point. And he was joking when he said he hoped Suárez got ill mate :)

Agree0 Disagree0

People easily forget the run we had when he was suspended.

Agree0 Disagree0

He is Uruguayan, he's probably just supporting Suarez rather than slating Liverpool although it appears this way

Agree0 Disagree0

Just like Sunderland would have been relegated already without Borini. Haha.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sunderland would be a mid table side if they had Suarez.
But they don't so they're going down.

i think our team now is like the old brazil team, they had a dodgy defence but 1 heck of a strike force and they use to out score there opponents just like what we are doing now. I say don't change anything keep going as we are and we will win loads of trophies good times ahead kingred ynwa

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree lad, the Brazil fans will be singing " it's just like watching Liverpool in the summer ". I say just enjoy the ride we're on

25 Mar 2014 14:05:49
Could an ed clarify this for me please. Right, so Gerrard gets a 2 game ban if he gets a yellow.
However, there's only a one game ban for 2 yellow in a game, providing it's not violent conduct.
If Gerrard got 2 yellows, would it be 3 match ban? Or would getting sent of via 2 yellows actually help him?
Either way, I think he should take a yellow tonight so he's available for city and Chelsea, we beat spurs without him 5-0.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - the ban for number of yellow cards is on top of any ban he may possibly get for a second yellow card in a match, for instance.}

Ok cheers.
We've seen a certain manager at a certain Spanish club purposely ask his players to take a yellow in the past. Do you see BR asking Gerrard to take one? I can't see him going the next 3 games without a yellow tbh, would you rather he missed spurs and west ham?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I would rather he just played his normal game and see what happens. Once you start asking someone to deliberately get a yellow, you are treading on dangerous ground. It is so easy to then pick up a second or for the yellow to be deemed a red.}

I remember a few years ago Xabi Alonso got a very suspicious yellow at the end of a game for kicking a ball away when he gave away a free kick. It happens, but I don't think Gerrard will do something like that - I think he will try to see it through till April with his 9 yellows.

Agree0 Disagree0

If he goes clear tonight and can manage another clear against Spurs I would put him on the bench for West Ham as a precaution. Second worst scenario he gets a yellow tonight and misses Spurs & West Ham. Worst scenario he gets one against Spurs and misses West Ham & Man City. Get Lucas in there early second half tonight to be safe.

Agree0 Disagree0

If he hadn't stupidly (and arrogantly) removed his shirt after scoring one of his goals we wouldn't need to worry about him getting another yellow. It shows that these silly actions sometimes come back to bite you. At the same time he, or any other team member, could get injured and miss more than a couple of games. Let's just take things as they come and hope for some good results.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it wasn't arrogant! It was excitement.}

I'd say the worst scenario is getting one against west game actually, then missing Chelsea and city games

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Mar 2014 20:17:21
If it were me, I would have removed my boots, socks, shorts, pants, AND shirt!
If ya going to get a yellow anyway, might as well go the whole hog!

Agree0 Disagree0

I can understand him getting exciting and taking his shirt off. I would if I had Alex at home. What I can't understand is why any player has to remove his shirt after scoring a goal especially in the knowledge that he is going to receive a yellow card. Don't put it down to excitement. It took more than 100 years before somebody decided that it was the thing to do and is really pointless as they only have to put it back on again!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - who cares? If a player wants to celebrate by flinging his shirt away, good on him. It is all good. The ruling is idiotic, only brought in because shirts used to have layers making it difficult to put them back on. Now they no longer have layers, taking their shirt off is not going to stop the game for ten min while they put it back on.}

It was brought in to stop Ryan Giggs ever doing his Planet of the Apes impression again ed.
So it has to be a good thing.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it was because of a United player thinking about it. Was it Forlan who spent 20min trying to get his top back on after scoring?}

26 Mar 2014 01:22:32
It was Forlan, heres the proof,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9s_oJaFXVrE

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate, I wasn't sure, so glad to get that cleared up.}

If it was excitement over arrogance then thank God it was his shirt and not his pants!

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Mar 2014 13:05:36
Hi Eds,

What do you think about the following.

1) Johnson - Has had a mixed season. Maybe past his prime. But versatile player. Will LFC cash in if we have buyers or offer him a new contract

2) Aspas - Don't think Rodgers rates him too much. he's already 26, will we keep him for another season or book a loss and sell?

3) Luis Alberto - Another player who looked promising but not got enough chances. Age is by his side but again lack of opportunity and confidence of manager

4) Martin Kelly - Fallen behind in the pecking order. Even further after Wisdom comes back from loan.

5) Suso - Will want regular first team football which looks tough at the moment. Has had a decent season on loan though. Looks a great prospect.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - 1) has already been told that he would need to accept a pay cut to get a new contract, not sure it will happen though.

2) Rodgers wanted him but it hasn't worked out well so far for various reasons. No decision has yet been made, but right now he would be available for sale, it is up to him to change that over the last few weeks.

3) He is young and will be given a bit longer yet, unless he asks to go.

4) Had a really bad injury, but he is still wanted at the club, they are giving him time to get back to his best. It is up to him if he wants to stay and fight, like Flanno did, or look for a move. The club are not shopping him.

5) Again it is up to him, the club want him to stay.

What are the reasons for aspas ed001? lightweight? other than that?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - more that he was bought with more game time in mind, he is a bit too expensive for a bit part player. The club still has a £50m loss per year to try and cut out. The role he played could have been performed by a much lower wage player, for instance Ibe, Dunn or Teixeira. So he needs to prove that he is worth the higher wages, rather than selling him and promoting a youth player.}

Good call Ed001; I'd love to see Ibe, Dunn or Tiexeira get some game time ahead of some players, I suppose on the downside would you want them covering a 10 game injury to someone - tough call.

Still hopefully next season some more of the young players will get an opportunities - great we have so many in and around the 1st team.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Mar 2014 12:47:35
Regarding Luke Shaw,
We all agree he's a quality player, and he is someone I never considered for Liverpool because the big spenders will be sniffing around.

But.
If you are Luke Shaw (I don't think I am being biased here) and you get the following options.

1. Utd - Regular Starter / No Champs League
2. Chelsea - Rotation? Might not start every game? / Champs League
3. City - Rotation? Might not start every game? / Champs League
4. Arsenal - Regular Starter? / Champions League
5. Liverpool - Regular Starter? / Champions League

I'm not sure if Arsenal are interested, or even if we are, but if he is looking for his best future, I would think it would be between us and Arsenal.
If you factor what Rodgers has done in a year to turn us around, then that might be enough.

This does reply on:

1. Us being interested
2. Us having the money to match the big teams bid

I would be interested to hear what the Eds and Reds think about the above though?

Thanks

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - why would he be rotated at Chelsea? He would start most games for them and he supports them. Then you have to factor in that we simply can't afford to buy him. Just a wet dream with no basis in reality at all.}

25 Mar 2014 13:08:17
Shaw is great, but he is not £30m great. I personally think he'll burn out like Michael Owen. With the type of wing back he is, he needs his pace and it won't last with him playing twice a week in the Premier League from the age of 17. I'd pay £15m for him, but no more and Southampton just wouldn't accept that.

I hate the idea of a quick fix, but is there any chance we could just go for experience Ed and bring in a player like Ashley Cole on a short term contract? I'm asking this as I really rate Brad Smith, Flanno and McLaughlin and although the latter two are not strictly left backs, it could still hinder there progress if we sign an expensive long term solution. Rodgers was happy to draft in Toure for experienced centre back cover so I wouldn't entirely rule it out, but I am not as in the know as you lot!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - wages are far too high for Cole to be an option, unless he is willing to take a substantial pay cut.}

Ed - I don't think he would start ahead of Azpil I can't remember the rest of it? And Ivanovich has nailed down the right back spot for years, so Azpil wouldn't be moved across, especially since Jose loves the physicality of his players.

I would see Shaw as 2nd choice left back, and in fairness, Azpil+9 is a very very good player. Been one of the standout fullbacks this season, if not the standout for me.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Ivanovic is not nailed down at right back, Azpilicueta would move across if Shaw was signed.}

25 Mar 2014 13:44:46
Shaw is great, But with 30 mill, we would get a decent Lb and a good LW, that's more than shaw alone.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Mar 2014 13:59:51
Shaw will move to london! Lfc I believe isn't an option for him!

Agree0 Disagree0

Saying he would be rotated at Chelsea seems like a stretch and, despite the options given, there is also the small issue of a £30mil+ transfer fee and what are likely to be equally exorbitant wage demands. I don't see us blowing what would likely be our entire transfer kitty on a left back whom has made it pretty obvious he wants tom play for Chelsea.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with you Seano - would love to see him here but it's not going to happen and until we're at least breaking even I can't see us breaking the bank for one player - unless we can through sales.

Agree0 Disagree0

In my opinion he is nowhere near worth the money required to get him. A lot of good players struggle when they step up to a "big" club, and at such a high fee, the pressure would be immense. Too risky for the money - buy two decent squad players for that. He is another young British player overhyped in my opinion.

There is no 'I' in team but there certainly is one in Sterling. I agree that he will be disappointed that Suarez did not pass the ball for the 6th goal but his reaction was completely wrong. Celebrate the goal and not sulk. Suarez was quite right to go for goal himself and he deserves the treble (not a hat-trick). Had the goalkeeper moved a different way then Suarez would have passed the ball and given Sterling the opportunity to score but that doesn't actually mean that he would. We have seen him miss from similair positions before.Let us all hope that Suarez carries on scoring as he is.

Suarez is more then guilty of the same thing himself. Have you not seen the strops he throws, both hands go up, he kicks out with his right boot at the grass.

Agree0 Disagree0

He doesn't get into a 'strop' when a goal is scored - only when a chance is missed that he thinks he would have taken. He also doesn't score evry time either.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think I am right in thinking if Luis had passed to raheem then he would of been offside.?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - no because he was behind the ball he cannot be offside.}

Have to agree with bobatron on this one.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't care who scores as long as we win the game to be honest. It could of gone in off Bellamy's arse for all I care.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think had it been 1 - 1 he would've passed; has done at other times this season.

Other players have moaned at others as well this season - I suppose that's the difference we actually have more players in goal scoring positions this year.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with zh - Sterling shouldn't have reacted. Immature and unprofessional. Suarez scored - end of.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sterling was greedy for his hatty against Arsenal - nearly stuffed it as the first effort was saved. Scored on the rebound and Sturridge I think it was in support, was delighted for him.

Gerrard is facing a 2 game ban so its likely he will miss 1 of these 3 teams
Spurs city or Chelsea
Gets a yellow tonight misses spurs and west ham back for city so what's people's ideal answer what would be the best thing to do

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Not get a yellow card and play all the games?

Agree0 Disagree0

After seeing a referee sending off the wrong player I would not be at all surprised to see Gerrard get booked in the Manchester derby tonight.

Agree0 Disagree0

Also can I add that if Gerrard avoids getting a yellow untill April the 13th the ban will not include cheers

Agree0 Disagree0

Wait and see if he actually gets a ban first then stick Lucas in as a like for like replacement. Easy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope he doesn't get booked to night. But if he does it will have to be by the police cause we're playing 2mara night!!! YNWA come on the reds.

Agree0 Disagree0

Did Gerrard get booked for taking his shirt off after scoring the penalty in injury time against Fulham?

Hi all the Eds and fellow Reds

Regardless of which pot we end up in, teams will not want to play us. Suarez will stay, reinforcements will be in place, we will be one of the baddest teams in the whole competition and will surprise a great many teams whether they've done their homework on us or not.
I have no fears of Suarez leaving and am confident we will just add potency to our squad.
We will do very well, with SAS we will score against anyone. ANYONE!

HERE'S TO A JOYFUL LAST 8 GAMES!

YNWA
P.S. Did anyone notice the last minute dash Sakho did at Cardiff? Did you see how fast he was? I'm telling you guys, future looks great!

Is there anybody that just can't bring themselves to wish for a Utd win tonight, even though it's the result that is best for our chances in the league? For the first time in my life I am hoping for a Utd win. They are an irrelevance at the moment with no chance of catching us or making the top four but if they take points of City, we are in the unbelievable position of knowing that if we were to win all eight of our remaining matches, we would win the league (I'm not suggesting this is a likely outcome but what a great position it would be to be in).

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think every lfc fan will want a united win tonight

Agree0 Disagree0

I wanted man united to beat Everton in 2005 they lost lucky enough we won the champions league

Agree0 Disagree0

I am wishing for a United win tonight. Now I'm going to have a shower, I feel sooooo dirty.

Agree0 Disagree0

A United win will also prolong the agony of moyes I would imagine also.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant bring myself to support them regardless. Hoping for a draw, that will accomplish all that's needed.

Agree0 Disagree0

I am not supporting a United win, I'm supporting a City loss.

Agree0 Disagree0

I want a United win, so knowing that lot as I do, they will bloddy lose tonight. They never do us favours, it's not the way the football gods behave. City win for me, but praying they lose.

Agree0 Disagree0

Draw will do for me. Could never root for them in all honesty just doesn't sit right with me.

By the looks of it I think they'll lose anyway, so I'm now hoping for a drubbing and a few suspensions for city.

Hi eds how come when ever I mention the 2018 world cup my posts get deleted?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - That would be the once then.}

No I posted the other day asking what would happen to the world cup with the issue of russia at the moment would it get moved or would certain countries refuse to play

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It is years away - no one will be thinking about it at all just yet.}

Good morning Eds and Reds

BR has come out and said that a new contract for GJ is priority in the summer? Heres me thinkink with what's been said he won't get a new contract as his wages are too high all ready? Eds have you seen a big improvement in his game or was he always going to get a new deal?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I don't see replacing him as a priority. We are heading down the usual road of the posters wanting everyone replaced in each window.}

Maybe he will be offered a a 1 or 2 year extension to his contract under reduced terms?

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks Ed

Im not one of those who wants half the squad replacing tbh i'm well happy with the vast majority of players we have and I think loaning players out to gain experiance is a good thing. I also think that GJ looks like he has returned from injury with a bit more about him. Left back is an obvious area that we need to look at strengthening in the summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

I imagine it will be a lot less than what he's currently on, if a deal can be struck. I think it's half the reason he's really trying hard lately

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm definitely not one calling for all new players every window, but I think we've seen the best of GJ come and go. He's too inconsistent and imo doesn't offer a real attacking threat or defensive stability. We can at least make a few million off him now and reduce the wage bill for other potential signings this summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

If he reduces his wage demands he is worth keeping. We don't have the money for a massive squad overhaul and it seems obvious that our left side (Both LB & LMid/Lwing) needs more focus. I've been very unimpressed with Johnson this season and was saying only yesterday that he doesn't deserve a new contract HOWEVER we need to be strategic in our squad management and transfer policy. On review it makes sense to try and maintain Johnson's services for at least next season.

Hi eds and reds do we have songs for Sturridge or sas, and what about BR? Thought it was time for the innovative Anfield crowd to come up with something.
