Mate that's history which will be there. What has liverpool got in the present don't get me wrong Rodgers is nice fella but taking liverpool back to glory years its just wishing or dreaming rather than reality. If you want reality then here it is

Since premier league era livepool havent won league titles.

Liverpool have been surviving so called big club title for past glories rather then present

Liverpool haven't finish top4 for few years and are not looking likely to finish in near future

Times have come that now fans have excepted finishing top7or8 its a achievement. Thats how liverpool have fallen.

Before players use to dream playing for liverpool but now times have come top players are not interested playing for liverpool or think liverpool is a big club. That's how liverpool has fallen

Liverpool is no more then midtable team at best dispatching Manchester united or manchester city or chelsea or Arsenal from top4 its a more wishful thinking or dreaming then reality.

Liverpool have and will always talk about history coz there is nothing to talk about present. Liverpool club will always be History rather present.

Fantastic post. Fans who criticise FSG or moan when we don't buy top players or abuse eds when they are told things which they don't like. This is how our club is in mess. People forget we were just hours away from administration. By the way ed which club blue moon supports

How is an immature post by a bitter oposition fan spouting nonsense i've heard a million times before when i was at school a 'fantastic post'?

MR EM

The way to success these days is to be taken over by a billionaire. Simples. Who needs hard work, grit and sustained progress when you can get it overnight? {Ed063's Note - I think Ajax proved that billions still can't buy you the Champions league by thumping City don't you?

City fans have lost their class...it went when the money arrived.

Blue moon i saw you standing alone with out a ground of your own ,untill recent owner came in ,ynwa red mick tag

Eds what's the price money on wining the europa league??{Ed002's Note - It depends on various factors but assume perhaps 8-10M euro.}

Dont worry, you wont be in it much longer

The above posts and ones similar make me laugh so much, dont know who they support as they haven't said (never mind even put their name).
Just strikes me as typical bitter blue nose who care more about Liverpool than their own team.
The fact is we are in the Europa League, a European competition, more than can be said for everton, we are still in the capital one cup, more than can be said for everton, we are also more realistic these days which is more than can be said for everton.
They have a good start to the season (the only difficult game being Man United at HOME) and suddenly its "top four here we come", LAUGHABLE!
Liverpol fans realise a few good results doesn't mean we are going to win the league and a few bad ones doesn't mean we will be relegated. We are realistic and a top 6 finish this season will be good progress.
A few cup wins along the way also sweeten the season (FA Cup semi final memories from last year still cheer me up) and a derby victory is always nice.
FOCUS ON YOUR OWN TEAM AND STOP BEING ENVIOUS OF LIVERPOOL!

Jay

Don't worry the guy above me has an IQ of 27

I LOVE how many fans from other clubs come on our page. It speaks volumes :)

Expect Jones,Coates,Robinson,Henderson,Downing and Yesil to ALL START tomorrow.

AsianRed

Expect a good beating then

Jones, agger, skrtel, gerrard & suarez will defo start

24 Oct 2012 21:58:35
IF we do go for Huntelarr i'ld wana see a younger forward come in aswell. Not a kid(got enough of them) but someone who can learn, and be prepared to learn, off likes of Suarez or maybe Huntelarr. We have a decent group of promising younger attack minded players in Yesil, Morgan, Ngoo who could also learn off more experienced GOALSCORERS-that need bringing in

Someone like borini?

MIKEY

So you want a young promising striker, that is hard working and prepared to learn. I head theres a lad called borini knocking around.

You dont want much do you , so lets see if im right , you dont want older strikers like suarez and huntelaar but you want them to be older than 18 , good luck in finding a top stiker within you age range that will want to come to us instead of a C/L football also they wont be the finished article because they would learn off suarez and other older players , good luck

24 Oct 2012 21:33:57
Good Result, great to get our first home win, Gerrard was class in the first half, still think Allen will get much better, Suso Sterling Wisdom, fits in seamlessly, well done Jones I say keep him his commanding in the box with crosses. Given time and some funds Rogers build a good squad. Well done boys Leem

24 Oct 2012 21:29:01
Get onto Huntelarrs agent now

24 Oct 2012 21:28:33
Man u admitted planning for Taggarts successor today. Compare that with Martinez no Rodgers no er em-Way were run is large part of recent years failings

24 Oct 2012 21:26:03
Great finish Huntelarr, that will put him more in demand. Shift your a ses LFC

24 Oct 2012 21:07:39
eds whats happening with the lad Texeira we signed?i know he's been injured but what i mean is do the coaches still have as high hopes as when he was signed?looked na smashing little player for Sporting {Ed001's Note - yes, still got high hopes for him, for the future, he is very highly rated.}

How far in the future eds?

thanks {Ed002's Note - Maybe a cameo toward the end of this season and perhaps a little more time next season.}

Do you know anything about how the coaches rate Sam Gainford Ed? I never hear him get mentioned as one of the particularly promising ones but he always impresses me! Cheers {Ed001's Note - I don't know sorry.}

24 Oct 2012 21:16:48
I have to say that the atmosphere at anfield is a joke, it seems to be declining every season! It's no wonder that all away fans sing " where's your famous atmosphere" ..... It should be like it was against man city in every game.....!

Ack17

So it was a good atmosphere against City then? Why is it therefore a joke? Je ne comprend pas.

No1 can reply to this and say the atmosphere is good! It's not!! So so quite it's because we play so slow its unbelievable,I start to think about not goin because am so bored,and save my dough! Record it on motd an show it to the kids to put them to sleep...

How funny to see the Manc millionaires getting tanked and going out of the Champions League!

redmersey

Not that funny, we need that 4th spot.

Rafa's Purple Goatie

P.s cue the Farfan rumours, he had a fairly decent game

Almost as funny as Liverpool having no strikers

24 Oct 2012 20:38:11
i wouldnt mind seeing that lewis holtby or christian errikson in a red top , they are both great players on and off the ball and could easy replace our skipper

Do like holtby from what I have seen,quick skilful

24 Oct 2012 22:04:30
Also, his dream move would be to Everton...

24 Oct 2012 23:41:44
What's there to disagree with? He said himself his dream move would be to Everton! His dad is a scouser, him, his dad and his granddad are all members of the blue neighbour brigade! Doesn't matter how much you don't want it to be true.

Ajax players already wear a red top...silly

24 oct 2012 20:34:09
if you guys win on sunday then well done but you still havent got 5 champion leagues and 18 first divison titles and fa cups and so on!
redmanluka
just posted this on the everton page! :)

Wow, what a big man you are. Give yourself a pat on the back.

Thanks for that nugget of gold. You almost sound like you expect us to lose. Quality banter right there.

What do you want? A medal

This is the kind of drivel we need to stop! Do nottingham forest fans go on about European cups etc.? No! We need to move into the present and respect the past! Get behind the team now!

You my friend, are an embarassment.

Ed2 mate you know Rodgers since he was at chelsea. What you think about Rodgers managing liverpool as neutral mate {Ed002's Note - He was well liked and well thought of at Chelsea. He is a pleasant enough guy but I did think that maybe the Liverpool job was perhaps a job too soon for him. However, he is in and it he has to be supported.}

I agree the Liverpool job being too big too soon, but I do think he'll grow in to it and really big good for us in the long term.

Ed2, i'm curious to know, did you have the same thoughts about mourinho & di matteo when taking over at chelsea?
s.p {Ed002's Note - Mourinho no. AVB yes, Di Matteo no.}

I totally agree with you ed002 and there is nothing also in his cv to say that he should have been even considered for the job. So in your opinion what did Henry and Co see in him first of all to give him an interview and then the job? His 150 page dossier orlack of suitable other applicants. I appreciate this is only your opinion. Cheers

The Irish Rover {Ed002's Note - I suspect it was him presenting his vision well. The dossier is not new - he was working on it whilst at Chelsea.}

Dont forget he turned the job down at first,so they must have been interested before seeing his dossier to want to interview him in the first place

24 Oct 2012 22:44:30
That's fair and honest opinion from ed2 there is no doubt that Liverpool job is a big challenge for any manager. We have to hope that things go our way and Rodgers can handle the pressure which comes managing Liverpool fc. Everyone forgot that Avb was one of the most promising young manager in europe but we all know what hapen with him at chelsea. It can go either way

24 Oct 2012 19:36:52
Could a ed let me know...
Ive noticed we are playing 4 games in 9 days in november.
22nd young boys
25th Swansea
28th Spurs
1st Southampton

Are there any rules that limit the games to day ratio? Like minimum amount of days before next game...or so many games per week?

Cheers
Benny baller {Ed001's Note - not that I am aware of.}

24 Oct 2012 18:47:56
we will buy sturidge for 30 million then sell him for 6 million then buy another overated english and do the same

Yeap bang on

Great prediction mate!

24 Oct 2012 19:37:32
not any more

Ed2 as you are a Chelsea fan. How highly do you rate Sturridge? I believe he can add goals whoever he plays for.

Mighty reds {Ed002's Note - I tend not to rate players per se. Sturridge has done OKish but perhaps not as well as hoped. If, as it seems, he is not happy with his lot then he will be allowed to leave.}

I heard we're to bid for Bellamy as well. A fee in the region of £20m then we will loan him back out to the Bluebirds

Dexerino

Ok, ed002 if you had your manager hat on would you fork out £20 million to buy Sturridge? Cheers.

The Irish Rover {Ed002's Note - Way too much.}

Do you have a replacement handle yet? Because comments like that usually lead to trolls like you changing their handles or disappearing completing with egg all over their face.

ChrisE

Here we go blue shxxx have a good start now they think the gona win the league

I intend to, right after we've bagged three points.

Only if you're buying mike!

Yawn....We heard all this before our two games last year then again before the FA semi final.......when will you learn?

MR EM

Ok....I always get smashed after a nice victory

Do you have a replacement handle yet? Because comments like that usually lead to trolls like you changing their handles or disappearing completing with egg all over their face.

ChrisE

Chrise, why is the original poster a "troll" as you so nicely put it? he's only having a bit of harmless banter, he's not insulting or threatening anybody. this is a banter page after all.

Smashed on the face when jelavic volleys comletely missing the target shooting way over the crossbar over goodison nd onto stanley park.

Have you just waited on our banter site so you could disagree with our comments Good crack . There nothing going on on your own banter site ?

Jeez, lighten up, it's a BANTER page. The clue is in the header. 3-1 Everton

None of us are claiming we're going to win the league. What is not in doubt though is that we're on our way up and you're firmly on the slide. But a derby ? Yes, cliches apply but don't be surprised when you get soundly beaten. PS. I will be the first on here if we get beat, after all it's only a game. 3-1 to the mighty blues

On the slide & still winning the odd trophy it's not all bad my blue friend...

24 Oct 2012 22:54:55
Oh no no no no my blue neighbour...you will be the ones crying when Stevie smashes three past you AGAIN! May the best team win! Can't wait!

24 Oct 2012 18:22:54
What positions at we looking to sign players in - in h January transfer window..

Cheers, {Ed002's Note - A striker.}

24 Oct 2012 18:17:08
Evening eds fellow reds , just read the artical on hick and Gillet get there trail .this should be very interesting they feel it was under valued when sold but if RBS were being truthful then the club had missed out on admination by one day .best keep an eye on this one when it happens . {Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with the club so no one needs to worry about it.}

Ed002 . Psv again ,so there no risk of H&G winning there case for underpriced sale and then trying to take LFC and FSG to court to get compensation ? Noing the fat Texas get he will want about £3 billion pounds . {Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with the club or FSG at all. Their claim is specifically against RBS and a number of individuals.}

24 Oct 2012 17:56:54
Pls rodgers have the guts not to start carra..anzhi are not a joke they play fantastic football..I just can't see him handling eto anyday..coates wud definitely be busy with their 6'8 striker traore.and they also have boussafa another talented footballer..we could win with our first team which won't happen.so I hope we don't see another udinese though..fingers crossed

hey lfc fans........

to eds.....or any other fans.........

surely we have to rest key players for everton on sunday after what happened against arsenal after a europa game?

red lobster {Ed002's Note - Other sides have players manage to play in European games and league games without major problems. But if the Liverpool players are overly delicate and not up to playing in all these games then perhaps they should be rested.}

I think this is a tricky 2 games i think we need to play our strongest side in the europa league because if we lose were pretty much out

Dont worry about everton lad they have no pienaar, fellaini and i think gibson out so thats there midfield not playing, they will have neville in midfield so dont worry about them.

Ok thanks for replying guys

just wanted to know what other people were thinking

Everton fan in peace here, first time I've ventured over to your site because I wanted to see some banter about the derby and see what your thoughts were on the derby etc. To the poster who said pienaar is suspended=correct. Fellaini injured=incorrect. Gibson injured=correct/incorrect described as having a 50% chance of playing. So you might want to rethink your post...

Hello everyone...! This is for ed002. I know we cant buy world class players or splash the cash on big signings as we are making losses. If we qualify for UCL we can then attract big names and have enough cash to pay for them. But i wonder with City and Chelsea so much stronger than us and Utd with so deadly attack the 3 out of 4 positions are gone. Then realistically speaking Arsenal and Tottenham have better squad than us let alone Newcastle and Everton.
So with so much competition can we ever go into top 4 qithout splashing the cash...?

We spent 71 millions on 3 players who dont play for us anymore.. I mean for that much money 3 world class talents could have been added to the current squad..
I know it's old news but it still makes me so mad..

I am very impressed and hopeful of Brendon Rogers but we need players and world class players...
Musicnation

P. S i am just angry with Suarez wasting so many chances.. {Ed002's Note - Liverpool were in the top ten net spenders in the world again this summer. The team is playing attractive football and perhaps have been a little unlucky in some of the results. I will stand by my prediction that they will be fighting for European places come the end of the season. However, I really don't see a Champions League spot. It is not simply a case of throwing money at new players constantly.}

I think LFC can be in the top 6 by January then make a push for 4th. But we need to bring in somebody who can hit the back of the net cause we are creating more than any other team in the league. If he could put away just 1 of the avalanche of opportunities we create we then I have no doubt in my mind that we could get into the champions league within a year or two, depending on how much time it takes the player to adjust Slodge

To the lad who said were creating more chances than any other team thats not true because everton have had more shots on target and hit the woodwork more than any other team this season and no am not a everton fan before you say am just stating facts.

Well said Ed. I completely agree.

BthekingB

Technically speaking u may be right but i was just drawing reference to the fact that we are creating more than enough chances to beat any team out there. We ran both manchester teams off the park but only got a point because of no end product. This team needs time cause there are a lot of new face in our starting x1 like Sahin Allen Sterling Suso. Gerradrd hardly played with Suarez last season. So I stand by what I said which was bring in a goal scorer & give it time & I think we could get 4th maybe this year or next year. Slodge

Hi just a quick question for anyone who may know.... Why have liverpool blanked the warrior logo on the back of their training gear? Its in the pics on the website... {Ed002's Note - It will likely be a sponsorship issue for the Europa games.}

24 Oct 2012 14:50:26
Liverpool will reportedly look to land West Ham defender James Tomkins as part of any deal that would see striker Andy Carroll complete a permanent move to Upton Park.

Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers is an admirer of the young adaptable Hammers star and will push Sam Allardyce to consider a part exchange deal if the West Ham boss looks to make Carroll's temporary move a permanent one.

No no not tomkins please

24 Oct 2012 14:49:55
Anzhi landed here about an hour ago, just seen them at the airport. Cheap and nasty purple tracksuits, I know LFC have had a few fashion disasters back in the day but they deserve to get trashed tonight for them alone.

MIKEY

Have you not seen the cheap & nasty purple Liverpool 3rd shirt then, Mikey?

Atleast ours is only a third kit.

The games tomorrow

I actually like our third kit. :)
Must of been another Russian team called anzhi I saw today then mate if the games 2moro.

Which player would you guys out there prefer to arrive in Jan?

Agree for Walcott, Disagree for Strurridge.

Walcott if I had to pick one or the other.
I don't think we are going to get either though I just don't see it.

Not sure why the Huntelaar and Llorente rumours persist so much Huntl is the same age as Dempsey and we all remember what happened with that because of his age, also Llorente is i think a year younger so same rules apply if the "club" wouldn't release that money for him why would they for these two..... So who else is there of that quality around 23/24? Not many and any who are, are around the 20m+ plus mark which the "club" wont spend after Downing Hendo etc.. and lets be honest here Sturridge, Wallcott Hooper are good but will never be world beaters EVER!!.... Ed have you got any realistic ideas

We are not a top 4 club at the moment, we need a goalscorer to get us back into the top 4, if we pay lets say £10m for Hunterlaar who at the age of 29 will not have a re sale value, but the most important thing what is if he were to get the goals we so desperatly need and get us into the Champions League he would of payed for his fee 3x over, look what Fergie did with V.persie payed £25m for a 29 yr old and yes its a lot of money but i can guarantee that V.Persie will win Utd trophies & possible the title with his goals which then makes it very good business for Utd.

BigD

Huntelaar is a proven goalscorer for ten years.
dempsey was and is not good enough for what we are trying to achieve.
comparing dempsey with huntelaar is madness.

I dont think he was comparing there age was more there age and price... but there is a point to be made there... im sure if we get carrols 18m they will spend that with maybe a little extra on a worldy as long as we can get them on a wage around 90k a week..

Lfc have a conveyor belt of young strikers. Borini, Yesil, Morgan, Ngoo, Nacho, Sinclair, Ibe that I can think of. Raheem's finishing will improve as he develops also. I have a good feeling that Yesil & J. Sinclair will top this group & score many goals for Lfc & win us many trophies. Sorry I got off the point but my point is that a player like Huntelaar could bridge the gap if we could get 3 good years out of him as a 90 minute player & a year or 2 as a starter who comes off after 45 to 60mins so that our youngsters can be slowly & patiently bought in. For example, I expect that to be the case with Shelvey & Gerrard. Slodge

I recently said the same as you Big D, it makes perfect sense as long as the price is right, which also fits to what you said Slodge.
I did read earlier in the week that Shalke have put his contract talks on hold until Decmber. So maybe he is waiting for someone to come and get him?
Have you any new news on this Ed002?
Cheers

Phooey... {Ed002's Note - Right now there is nothing but that could change. Schalke certainly do not want to sell as it is going very well for him in Gelsenkirchen and they want him to sign a two year extension to his contract - and he wants to only sign for a further year. This is the reason for the impasse not him waiting on someone to make an offer. However, Schalke said that they would likely sell if he refuses to agree any contract extension, and he hasn't - although that threat was there in the summer and they didn't sell. Atletico Madrid and Lazio would appear the most likely destinations if he were to move in January, but several EPL sides are still looking for a striker: Arsenal (but they have other clear targets), Chelsea (again he is by no means near the top of the shopping list) Spurs and Liverpool - both of which could be potentially be interested at the right price.}

Just a question for the ed or anybody who knows. Concerning the Suarez/Huntelaar partnership at Ajax. Were Ajax playing a 4-4-3 & who was the centre forward? Slodge {Ed002's Note - You think they played without a goalkeeper do you?}

Sorry, i meant 4-3-3 BR's system

Ed dodges question lol

I'm not sure of the formation but Huntelaar was the CF and Suarez played mainly to the right of him.

Phooey...

Huntelaar has said he would only go to a CL club here. Kind of rules you out.

I ask, why suddenly after 6 or 7 years do we hear what Robert Kraft thinks of LFC, what is the reason I wonder?. {Ed002's Note - He is here in England right now and someone asked him the question.}

He was put off by the prospect of building a new ground and also there being no cap on wages sounds like a sensible man . good luck to the new england patriots and the st louis rams hope they enjoy the trip to london.ynwa

So its the case of "the press" scratching around for another worthless and outdated story. {Ed002's Note - There is no story really. He has given this answer when asked the same question in the past. I recall a few months ago someone asked him about it when he was in London on business. He is here for the game at the weekend and is mixing some business with pleasure. I know when he arrived at Heathrow he had a large suitcase with him - maybe it is full of cash to buy Liverpool?}

Wow..I still see some fans saying they wanted benitez..yes he won us the champs league and some other cups..but he spent 229 million on 76 players..and we still didn't win the league when there were basically. 4teams competing back then..if you're talking about the master of scouting flops it can only be rafa and his team..he keeps writing H&G didn't back him..rubbish when he was spending their hard earned cash on mediocre players!!so when they are struggling for funds and says he wants jovetic!!who would believe he is a quality player..benitez should stop blaming H&G..he failed himself..and I hope whoever used to scout players for liverpool under benitez are no longer there..only 17 players of that 76 contributed positively to the squad during his tenure(johnson,alonso,torres,crouch,reina,skrtel,agger,mascherano,sissoko,luis garcia,kuyt,bellamy,arbeloa,benayoun,lucas,babel,aurelio)..what a joke.and please don't u dare talk about the academy because they are not regarded as first team signings..

I'm not one of the bring back raga brigade mate but I don't believe it's as simple as that. Quite often rafa wanted a player that not enough funds where given for and do settled for a cheaper/worse player in the same position. Now I think he should simply have waited til the next window to get his man, rather than settle for a lesser player. But certainly on about 5 or 6 occasions he seemed to do this.
But it's all ancient history- lets all move on shall we?!

Jason

Bit harsh on rafa that. Why trash talk him when he gave us the champions league and possibly the best game of football ever. His scouting wasn't great and he had more misses than hits but we can be thankful for the work he put into the accedemy and signing Stirling. I wouldn't have him back in any role but I like to remember the good times he brought us.

MIKEY

Disgusting to see people talking about rafa like that lots are great to point out the players who flopped but the same people dont point out how he made us a champ league regular or how he vgot us our best title challenge since early 90s or about the likes of agger,skirtel,reina,johnson,masch,torres,alonso etc.... #ungratefull

On the kop when we beat inter Milan 2 nil on the kop when we beat real Madrid 4 nil thank you rafa
Paisley's genius

Don't want Rafa back at all but I know he was denied the funds to buy great young players Falcao and Ronaldo come to mind so I don't think your scathing attack on the man who bought so much success to the club is fair. However he is not the manager and will not be again so lets focus on BR and the lads and support them in trying to get us back to the top of European and domestic football!

On the ale when we won it 5 times,nice one rafa.ynwa red mick tag

The game on Thursday will be a very difficult one against AM. Since they were bought in 2011 by Suleiman Kerinov who is worth a conservative $6.5 billion he has brought in many great players, including Samuel Eto. He is turning them into the Chelsea / Man City of the Russian Premier League. Maybe, just maybe, they are not at that level right now, as he has only been the owner for 1 year or so.

With the way Udinese turned us over at Anfield, and the strength of Anzhi it is probable we will finish no better than 3rd. It will not help by having to put out a virtual second string.

It's a good experience though for our kids.

KBL

KJH,
I'd take that in Indian Rupees.
At current exchange rates, it's aprox £1.1 bn.

Redjinal

I can't see them ever enjoying the same success as Chelsea or man city. Nobody supports them, nobody goes to there games, nobody ever will because it's a rubbishhole, nobody can pronounce their name properly so nobody will ever support them.
They will be the first team (if any) banned from euro competition, nobody will want to join a pan euro league with them because who wants to play anzhi every week?
They are little more than a retirement home for mercenary players.
If we lose after me saying all that the colour of my face will match my top. Ha

MIKEY {Ed002's Note - You failed to mention that the players live 1,200 miles from the stadium as well.}

Ed002 Am I remembering correctly in saying the club flies them all (or at least the big names) by private jet for matches? 1200 miles would not be far enough for me.

MIKEY {Ed002's Note - Right, they live in Moscow and fly in for their home games.}

I've just been scrolling down all the player Liverpool 'Will sign'. We all know that deals can fall through and hit problems however it is definite a positive sign that we have 100,000,000,000 to spend

Is that rupees ?

saw it on a website dont know if its true,joe allen makes 11.1percent of his passes backwards,while stevie g makes16.8.so for those critics of joe this should shut their mouths.

I love the way you say dont no if it true but still tell people to shut their mouths you my friend would be no good in court

Maybe the critics should extend their views to other players as well ;)

Stats reveal less and hide more. you can not always pass forward when you are playing in the final third.
Allen is doing a terrific job for us, so is Gerrard for years.

Shail.

Joe Allen is a waste of space like Henderson and Downing. Waste of money the lot! - £55m!

88.9 sideways though!!

Only joking Great Player.

Waste of Money! He Keeps the ball and rarely gives it away
Possession is 9 tenths of the Law.

I would of thought you'd had the judge
tell you that a few times at least!!

Its not about backwards passes its about how many key passes he makes

I do believe that shanks once said you have to go backwards to go forward

Eds do you know how long suso has signed for? When will sterling be able to sign? Thanks {Ed001's Note - I think 3 years, and players can sign professionally any time after their 17th birthday, so I don't quite understand the question. He has a pro contract, the talks are simply about improving the terms of the contract.}

I thought it was a 5 yr deal for Suso ?

Ed001, just want yer opinion on this. Everton can quite be a good side on the deck, yet whenever it's the derby they seem to adopt this negative, kick-em-about approach.
Have they always been like this? Or is it their players who maybe get overrawed and bottle.
You hardly see end to end stuff.

Must admit I do fear for the wellbeing of Suso and Raheem. You can bet your last dollar Moyes will have instructed his foot soldies to 'rough 'em up'.
Just hope they come out in one piece. {Ed001's Note - it used to be blood and thunder, but only to win the right to play. Over the years Everton dropped back, they were fighting against relegation and they employed managers who wanted dogs of war rather than skilled players. The derby became their main aim of the season, it became bigger because they were very rarely in the running for trophies. Now that is changing, Everton no longer go into the season hoping to finish above us and beat us in the derby. So I would expect that they won't have that same fear of defeat and be able to actually play.}

They are a decent side.

Everton tactics : -

''if it moves kick it, if it doesn't move, kick it until it does.''

Yes but their main playmaker is Pienaar and he is out- any news on whether the other main threat, Fellaini is able to play or not as I noticed he was missing last weekend.

Any chance of huntelar my brother raves over him just look at his figures 385 club games 253 goals 6 days older than Rvp out of contract in the summer also scored more goals for holland in less games he played two seasons with Suarez while playing together the scored 68 goals in 52 games come on this is a complete no brainer if you don't agree you need help

No, it seems arsenal, spurs & newcastle are better placed than liverpool are!? Personally I think turkey or russia is where he will go!?

He has said he wants to play in England, i doubt he would join Arsenal where he would be rotated as they have Podolski, Giroud, Gervinho etc, Spurs mite be a chance as they only have Defoe & ade and Newcastle have Ba, Cisse & Ameobi, also as he and Suarez played together at Ajax hopefully Suarez can convince him Anfield is the place to be..

All the media are focusing on the police's role in the Hillsbourgh tragedy, but we should not take our eye off the ball and let them distract us, there are other people and groups who are culpable.
Nowhere (only Sky for a short period) did the media report about the Liverpool MP's calling on the FA to be brought to justice for their role in Hillsbourgh.
Let's give the FA a present next year and see them in the dock.

Hey ed002, I just read that we have an interest in Andreas Laudrup, it's who's reporting it and they are reporting s**** most of the time! But do you know of any interest from us? Cheers, Scouserseb {Ed002's Note - I know nothing of it at all but will check - I know someone who would have an idea if there is interest.}

hi eds do you think we could buy another keeper? i personally think doni should be allowed to leave and i believe jones should be allowed to leave to find 1st team football as he has been a loyal servant with no complaints. we all know reina is world class on his day but butland could challenge him and would be brilliant for the future {Ed002's Note - I don't see it as a priority.}

Doni will probably leave once his personal issues are sorted, he'll want to return to Brazil. Or if he is committed he could stay, he has a sweeper-style approach Rodgers likes in keepers and is an excellent No. 2. If he was around now, he could be 1st choice with Reina's form right now.

Jones is doing well for us in the Europa, but he will probably leave end of the season. Rodgers likes ball-playing keepers which Brad isn't unfortunately, but he is a good reader of the game. Gulasci will leave too most likely, he is Championship level best.

Next season I wouldn't be surprised if the whole GK setup changes. Reina leaves and there is a new No.1 choice GK brought in, Doni returns to be No.2 choice, and Ward/Belford push to be the 3rd choice. RC

Ed2 we all know owners have spend but looks not enough at the same time they have expressed few times they didn't know how expensive is to own clubs in Epl.do you think if they sell their shares will be good for both parties in order to move liverpool foward {Ed002's Note - It might lead to them ridding themselves of fans like you, so sure.}

FSG will not sell until they have maximised all revenue streams surely? The club would be worth more when the build has been completed and they can get Liverpool profitable. Finding interested buyers maybe be an issue, but there will be plenty willing to buy the club with borrowed cash so be careful what you wish for mate.

Eds is there any chance of Rafa coming being brought in a Comoli type role? He got top class players more often than not and at good prices? (Agger, Reina, Sterling, Suso, Shelvey, Alonso, Torres, Masch, Lucas)

Or have the owners given up on that position? {Ed063's Note - Rodgers condition to being appointed was that there was no DOF above him}

And so rafa had a same condition, sorry but rodgers its no were near benitez, just the way he handle our striking situation, im sure if rafa wouldve been appointed carrol wouldve been playin much much better than crouch, and we wouldve got jovetic and not borini. {Ed063's Note - Hahahahahaaha - such an absurd statement. You do realise that the amount of money available was not dependent on the manager. Jovetic was/is out of our price range. Carroll would of been sold as well. You make me feel extremely intelligent}

O thought Hogdson bought Shelvey? {Ed063's Note - Nope}

If rafa was so great how comes he pushed out Alonso while trying to sign Barry just one example for you there are plenty more like all the players money was wasted on and how youth never stood a chance under rafa how many Broke into the first team?

Deanalfie.

Haw many were ready 4 the first team none

24 Oct 2012 07:49:42
With no disrespect I hope Carra doesnt play tommorow, a performance like the one against Udinese and that could seriously jeopardize our chance of even progressing from the group. On the other hand, Coates is looking very good in these Europa games!

HullRED {Ed063's Note - Coates is looking good in Europa because he is very good}

24 Oct 2012 06:53:53
Strikers:
Gary hooper (Celtic)- £8-10mill 24
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (saint ethiene) £8-10mill 23
Tomer hemed (real Mallorca) - £6-8 mill 25

Fowards:
Daniel Sturridge (Chelsea) - £12-15mill. 23
Theo Walcott (arsenal) - £10-12mill. 23
Dries mertens (PSV) - £10-12mill. 25

In my humble opinion I think we'll be going for one player in January and all the players listed above have been linked with us and are quite likely for their own individual reasons. £4mill plus the sales of downing (£4-6mill) and possibly cole (£1-3mill), should be able to fund one of these moves especially with the owners stubborn to fund money.

24 Oct 2012 05:57:59
hi eds, it seems tomor hamed is hotting up, among others are reporting it.not much info on this guy so could you do what you do best and do some diggin,also could you do a player profile on him. many thanks {Ed063's Note - Ask on the profiles site mate}

£20m transfer kitty

Center Forward; P-E.Aubameyang - £9m (11m euros) .. [Gabon did not qualify for AFCON 2013 so we won't miss Pierre but Assaidi and Morocco are]

Forward; Daniel Sturridge - £9m

Center Back; Angelo Ogbonna - £10.6m (13m euros)

£28.6m

outs
Downing £7m

Cole £1.6m

= £8.6m

£28.6m - £8.6m

£20m net spending

......The Trio of Aubameyang, Sturridge and Ogbonna is all that we need from this next transfer window.

.........................Aubameyang.........................
......Suarez.....................................Sturiddge..
....................Sahin............Gerrard..................
..............................Lucas...............................
Enrique.........Agger............Skrtel.........Johnson
..............................Reina...............................

jones, wisdom, ogbonna, allen, shelvey, sterling, suso.

henderson, coates, carra, assaidi, robinson etc.........

Br doesn't want Suarez playing wide. Suarez has been playing up through the middle in the front 3. Suarez creates goal scoring opportunities (assists) and players are better positioned coming in from wide positions for shooting. Hooper plays well coming in from the right. So does Walcott. Aubemyang?

24 Oct 2012 09:07:49
Not sure what Sterling has done to deserve to be dropped! {Ed063's Note - Nor Suso}

Nor wisdom.

Mighty reds {Ed063's Note - Especially not for Enrique}

Your team loses all credibility when you continue playing Enrique instead of wisdom and Sturidge instead of sterling.
CQ

I think we don't need a striker in the center, but a goal scorer from the Wing.

Reina
Kelly agger martin wisdom?
Lucas Allen
Gerrad
??? Suarez sterling.

We need definetly a STRIKER and maybe a WING FORWARD/WINGER.

Realistic targets No not Falcao, Jovetic, villa, llorente etc.

St options
Ba-7m release clause. Scores goals has all the attributes fast, strong, good shot&header, hard working.

Hooper-5m-7m - Great goals record, poacher type st can he do a jelavic??

I've been thinking n Huntelaar could be an option
But bit unsure on him at Ajax was on fire but kinder 'flopped' at Madrid and Milan but now scoring at Shalke.
29? Old? or is it we could get enough years out of him then replace with likes of Yesil?
Had a great partnership with Suarez at Ajax.
Could be fairly cheap since contracts up in summer.

Also Leandro Damiao?
Seems unlucky. BUT if stories on deadline day of us being close to signing him are true then we should try again, if not then its fairly impossible.

Wing forward/winger

Sturridge- wateva u say he is talented. Give us n option out wide up top as a impact sub. 1st half of last season was on fire under AVB then dropped to bench. UNDER 15M if not then NO.

Walcott- Give us raw pace, and has a decent goals nd assists record for Ars. in past couple of seasons.
Same as sturridge in terms of option as winger, game changer n price of under 15m

Also maybe

Kevin Gameiro- not getin games at PSG. Decent st 10m-15m?

Aubameyang-Very pacey attacker, tricky player 8m-13m?

And should look at young St from other european leagues i.e. Aaron johansson 21 y.old 12 Goals 12 Apps,
Players from leagues in Ukraine, Belgium, Scandanavia??
Some good emerging talents
I checked on transfermarket dot co uk. Statistic section. Good info on Top scorers across europe n best goal ratios.

F5

I disagree llorente is realistic

Gameiro and aubameyang are both CF

What a complete waste of a post. why dont you state what has been said and posted on here for weeks. Oh you have
person

Hooper & Merkel.

Just been on the Chelsea page to see how they performed tonight, not too good I gather. With all their attacking players they still want more and seem to be desperate for Falcao. It just goes to show that even spending the amount they did doesn't bring happiness or indeed time. Something to consider for our fans.

Tough game this weekend with Everton, I think the key could be how Sterling and Suso (if they start on the wings) keep Baines occupied in defence to stop him charging up the wings. Fingers crossed.

Oh and after the way our summer spending and targets went, I think people should just wait and see who we get because I think it will probably be another off the radar signing.

McB
