Hi Ed001,

I love a bit of banter with the United fans, but on a more serious note, do you think Fergie fears Dalglish?

I just can't help but feel that he seems a little more rattled then usual.

Jatt YNWA {Ed001's Note - I think he does have a lot of respect for Dalglish, I am not sure it is fear though. I think he is rattled by City's growth, Chelsea's appointment of a top young manager and the return of Dalglish altogether. Though I think he is the type to relish the challenge, even if he doesn't succeed, he will keep going, like he did before he finally started winning trophies with United.}

You can't deny the things he has done, outstanding, i've always found that Dalglish has always had the edge over him........i think more because of Dalglish's charisma, it just seems to irritate Fergie. But finally are great club is somewhere back to where we belong.

Thanks for all the replies Ed001, really appreciate the information mate.

Jatt YNWA {Ed001's Note - they are friends Jatt, it is just the needle of wanting to beat your mate so you can give him grief afterwards and knowing if you lose he is going to give you pelters.}

Wow....didn't have a clue, i knew they were both proud Scots and generally would have stuff in common, but just thought the bad blood between our clubs would have voided that tbh, mind you it wasn't always this bad......haha.

Once again thanks for the info at this late hour :).

Jatt YNWA {Ed001's Note - Fergie wrote the foreword in Dalglish's autobiography, the first one I mean. There can be a rivalry without hatred, fortunately, it is far more fun to beat a mate's team than any other if you ask me.}

anybody got a number for marty mcfly? just thinking maybe we could go back 1995 and nab robbie fowler. problem solved. SCARFACE

We seem to be crying out for a really natural finisher with all the chances we are creating. Suarez is world class but I think we need someone in, dare i say it the Torres mould. Eds, any idea if this is a target of the club in the upcoming windows and any likely names if so?

Livermule
YNWA {Ed001's Note - I feel like I am just repeating myself over and over - Luuk De Jong!!}

Is it too early for young Adam Morgan, as he looks a natural finisher and some even have him as the next Robbie Fowler? How old was Shrek when he started?

Keith

Just a thought here. All these shiny happy people comparing us to how we played 12 months ago and saying how much better we are now, will u start comparing us to 6 months ago when steve Clarke was a saviour for our defence, Kenny had us playing excellent football and we were actually winning. Even better than that 6 months ago before games I felt pretty confident we would win, now I dread the weekends cos I'm so stressed about how we're gonna play. It literally ruins my week if we dont perform well.(sad I know)
But my point is, this season we have been pretty poor in comparison to the last 4 months of last season. Whether it's the new players gelling or just being poorer players- I'm not sure yet?!
now I'm not calling for changes cos I don't know what I'd do differently but just get pissed off with people always comparing us to 12 months ago (rock bottom) yes things got better but seem to b plateauing rather than improving this season.

Ps does downing ever beat a player? I can't remember a successful dribble.

Downbeat Jason {Ed001's Note - isn't that normal? It is always a case of taking two steps forward, then one back to take more forward. Last season we were getting results on the Dalglish effect, that wasn't going to last forever. The players were playing beyond themselves, now we can no longer rely on that week in week out. Now we have to give them time to get to know each other's game, to become a team rather than 11 individuals.}

We are playing excellent football at the moment but what we need is a natural finisher (which Suarez and Carroll aren't) who can capitalise in all of our chances.

We had 29 shots (I think) against Norwich and took 1. Now that isn't bad but it isn't good it just means that as I said, and as Ed and many other posters have said, is that we need to take our chances. So don't get so worried mate.

maka

Good points Ed and maka, cheers. I think I get more worried about the lack of clean sheets than goals. I reckon we'll thump someone very soon too. Just worry that we seem very fragile at the back. Hopefully dagger will make improvements. Just a thought- did our better defensive performances come when carra was injured last year or had he returned at that stage? Not that I think it's all carra's fault!

Jason

I'd love to see someone like Mateo Musacchio or Jan Vertoghen at the club.

maka

Ye we are playing great football at the moment until reina gets it and boots it up the park at every opportunity . every time we attack and worried about a counter attack which Norwich did to some affect sat and with out lucas in the team boy did we look nervous defending around our box .

u eds made it clear that our main target for the striker position is luke de jong. But I'm really interested to know what is the long term position Lfc are looking to fill. IMO we need another creative player, maybe a right winger or an att midfielder who will be seen as successor of Steve G. And also who are the most likely options considered for these positions. Maybe Gotz-Hazard-Kagawa-Johnson-Marin? I'd like to see any of those in red shirt. What's your opinion? thx in advance. {Ed001's Note - right wing is the main priority I am told, De jong covers right wing and attack.}

I'd like us to play johnson out wide in the next three games with kelly at rb as a tester.

Ed I see papers linking us with Marin again. What do you think of Marco Reus? I really rate him and he plays naturally on the right which is what we need. Downing is wasted on the right imo. {Ed002's Note - Marko Marin is contracted to June 2013 and will likely move next summer. AC Milan, Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs, Napoli, Juventus and Roma have all shown an interest in Marko Marin in the past and I hear that Arsenal are interested at the moment. Much will depend on whether or not Liverpool make the Champions League as to whether he is a viable option or not; and the summer is a considerable distance away at present. Perhaps Italy is the most likely destination, but you never know. Reus has been playing well and has a growing reputation - enough to alert Bayern Munich - his likely destination now that interest from Dortmund has slipped away.}

Sorry ed i know this probably seems that Im just throwing random names at you but what about Hoilet? I rate him quite highly and thought he came on well at the end of last season and has been a revelation this year. Would be a great option for the right and still very young.
Cheers
KiwiRed {Ed001's Note - he is very highly rated and being monitored by a number of clubs, he is likely to move in the summer, but almost certain to stay until then.}

Thanks so much for the info, ed001.

I hope as many lads as possible who have the potential are given a decent shot at making the grade here regardless of their size or physique or whatever.

I don't quite understand our obsession with size tho.

We missed out on george green because of his lack of physique.

The way things are going, we probably would overlooked david silva, messi and maradona.

Last I checked, LFC plays football, not rugby. Technique and skill can make things happen that physique cannot.

Juz ask any of the teams that come up against the smallest player in the barcelona team(messi).

YNWA
Singapore Red {Ed001's Note - it has been my pet hate for years, it is a ridiculous obsession with size in England, we miss out on quality because of it.}

Ah common the size thing is important for women

24 Oct 2011 20:28:03
Ed i haven't seen much of luuk de jong but i wonder why if he is that good then why would only newcastle and lille be interested and not teams like city, milan etc. Do you think if we buy him we are just settleing for second best to players like rossi and lavezzi or is he as good as players like this? {Ed001's Note - please don't judge a player on what teams are interested, try watching the lad then deciding. As for who is interested, there is a lot more interest in the lad than just Newcastle and Lille.}

24 Oct 2011 20:26:59
Hey eds, may I ask which of the following youngsters will likely eventually make the step up to the 1st team? I know it's hard to know for sure, but juz based on your impressions now.:-)

Adam Morgan
Raheem Sterling
Conor Coady
Andre Wisdom
Suso
Toni Silva

I was under the impression that Tom Ince was a real prospect. Was a bit surprised we let the lad go.

Singapore Red
YNWA {Ed001's Note - Ince was as arrogant as his father and wanted to be paid like a first team player, despite struggling to hold down a reserve place. He is simply not as good as he likes to think he is. The 6 players you have named have all got a very good chance, though Suso's lack of size is holding him back, though I personally think he needs a chance in the first team. Morgan, Coady and Silva are probably the most likely to make it, purely because they have the most all round games of them all, though Wisdom I feel could potentially be the best of the lot. I just don't think he will get the chance to make it with us.}

Why don't you think Wisdom will get the chance to make it with us ed? And even though he has a small stature do you think Suso will be in the Liverpool team for years to come?

maka {Ed001's Note - simply because we bought Coates, I think it is more likely we will buy someone rather than him getting a chance. Though I really hope he does get an opportunity. I feel Suso will get fed up of being held back eventually, though the club have tried to put him right in the centre of midfield to allow him the chance to build up his strength in the thick of the action. He really needs first team football though, a loan move if he is not going to get it with us, is needed.}

Personally Ed001, i think Wisdom will either move to RB or CM. A shame he wasn't a couple inches taller because he would've been a shoe in for future CB IMO.

Jatt YNWA {Ed001's Note - I think that is likely too, or he will drop down and prove himself with another club.}

What about sterling ed, I thought he was the pick of our academy! what about his future.

Abhi {Ed001's Note - he is an excellent young player, he has every chance of making it, but he has to do more, he is at that make or break age now. I do feel he has the pace to make it, but he also has that lack of brute strength that Suso has. Hopefully his pace will make up for it, but I worry he will just end up being like Aaron Lennon, great pace and trickery but no end product.}

Sterling finishes better than lennon

Suso needs to get playing time at liverpool i dont think a loan will do him any good because of his lack of physical presence.

sama i think will make it and would be able to go out on loan in the championship, bundesliga1/2 and belgian pro league because of his size, composer on the ball not forgetting his offloading is that of a creative mid

silva is and has been the most consistent performer in the reserves this season counting the nextgen series aswel.

I hope, they would all make it. Especially Suso, he is my favourite in the academy. His passing, technical ability, mentality, absolutely perfect. Hope, we are not making his size excuses. He is a real quality. can be a huge asset for us. YNWA

Your young guns dont have chance in playing 11 specaly striker or midfielder. not even in Carling cup

24 Oct 2011 20:26:27
ed do you see jordan henderson as a possible success?
personally i think he was too expensive {Ed001's Note - yes, but as you called Jose Baxter world class, I would have to conclude your judgement is extremely suspect.}

24 Oct 2011 20:24:48
why haven't liverpool made an offer for jose baxter from everton? world class player and extremely cheap. Vellios also?

Jose baxter, world class?? i think the best talent they've in their youth is Barkley. Baxter was over-reated and is yet to make any impact at all, and he is not much younger at 19, now.

24 Oct 2011 20:34:09
we should be supportive to the players and the manager and stay united. I would only hope that the manager and the coaching team be a bit more firm and stricked with the players so their permormance is top at all time during the 90 min on the pitch. I would also like to see our captain to be more agressive and instact the players on the pitch. Also In would like to see our manager not holding the metal bar on top of his seat and give a few shouts out so that tha players are aware that they have been watched when they holiday or hide on the pitch. The managers have to be more demanding and the players should be more productive. Once we score a goal they thing the game is over and relax. They should be like a storm over the ocean when they are on the pitch not like sheep grazing on the grass

24 Oct 2011 20:32:07
Ed,or anyone else,what do you think of playing maxi as striker? He doesnt do much in a game,but he does make intelligent runs and has a lethal finish. Just an idea.
Capetownred {Ed002's Note - I'll leave it for someone else.}

I think its worth a try. He has good positioning skills. It couldnt hurt seeing as no one else on Saturday was able to add a finishing touch.

LIV3RBIRD

You're right: "he doesn't do much in a game". He shouldn't be in the team, let alone play in a specialised position that he's not used to. He's another that gets mentioned because results could have been better and he didn't feature. The grass is not always greener and it isn't in Maxi's case.

I would give Maxi a run at RM instead of Kuyt who has been dire. We desp need a quality pacy skillful RM in jan.

I can understand the frustrations of some of the posters as you can read most Liverpool games like a book. We start well, creating chances and usually missing them. Then we'll get a goal, usually midway through the second half, after which we gradually drop deeper until the opposition equalise. The we'll have a little flurry which peters out and the game is drawn. We have seen this scenario too many times over the past few seasons and it is still happening under KK. I think the reason is lack of belief, no killer instinct and, most importantly, a severe lack of quality in the penalty area.

Although this is very frustrating, I think supporters need to take a reality check and remember where we were just 12 months ago. To criticise KK at this stage of the season is ludicrous, let him get on with the job. Not just this season but for the next 2 seasons. We will then be in a much stronger place. Nothing happens overnight. We are competing against 2 teams with virtual unlimited wealth, plus another with nearly double our capacity. If we took our chances, we'd be right up there alongside them.

If I have any crib at all it's with the lack of quality in finishing, vision and crossing. Why do opposing keepers always have man-of-the-match performances against us? It's because the shots always give them the chance to make a great save. They are never clinically dispatched into the corner where they have no chance to save. On at least 3 occasions against Norwich, players blindly hit balls across the six yard box, without looking up and spotting teammates unmarked awaiting a tap in. Even Suarez was guilty twice of this. Also, the crossing from wide positions is very poor, always hit more in hope than conviction. Despite this, I think the players will eventually get the confidence to do these things right. They will relax and start thinking about things rather than rushing them. With regard to the poor finishing, if I were Kenny, I definitely get Shankly's old sweat boxes, with the numbered boards, back at Melwood and have them taking endless shots at them until they get the message. If they were good enough for Hunt, St. John, Keegan and Toshack, they can't do our toothless strilers any harm.

To summarise, I'm as frustrated as anyone, but I realise we are going in the right direction, so we need to be patient. Becoming hysterical every time we drop a couple of points certianly won't help.

redmersey

I would not disagree with your points but loosing two or three points every game would not take us anywhere. Arsenal is two points behind us as well as Norwich. Spurs are a point ahead of us with a game in hand. This week was our chance to climb towards the top with the misfortune of Chealsy and Man u loosing to their oponents and close the gap. We missed two points so the gap gets bigger.

To the above poster. Chelsea and united lost, we drew so the gap doesn't get bigger it gets smaller. We were 6 points behind united we are now 5

It's about were we are after 38 games not 9

hi ed.I know are youth players the likes of sterling,Coady,Morgan and suso are still very young.but do you think they will have futures at liverpool? i believe they have the quality but i am saying this because in the past we have had good young players and let them go and not give them the opportunity.like pacheco and eccleston.I think we should try and loan them out asap apart from sterling still young.i'm looking forward to seeing jonjo shelvey perhaps in are team next year as i think he will come back a much improved player.

danny {Ed002's Note - One or two will make it - Morgan is closest right now I am told. Certainly Morgan, Suso and Sterling are too young to loan out at the moment due to the regulations. Perhaps in the future.}

Cheers ed

danny

I think Pacheco and to a lesser extent Eccleston have had chances in the first team but they haven't taken them. Maybe the Ed will be able to help but I think Pacheco had an attitude problem which has restricted his chances.
I think the difference with Suso, Sterling and Morgan is that they look like real talents - I hate to put pressure on players so young but Sterling in particular looks as if has potential to make it to the very top.

JRG {Ed002's Note - Pacheco is out on loan and won't be returning. The problem with the kids is that they are simply not old enough to be allowed to go out on loan yet.}

Pacheco basically ruined his own chances. RED LENIN

Obviously he is very young but do you think that Morgan can be as good as say owen ,fowler?
Sorry to change the subject but i'm fed up of people criticizing jordan hendo. the lad has a first class attitude.He says he practises longer than the overs to work on his shooting and over things.For me he has the talent and desire to be a very good player.just please play him in the middle kenny :)

Hi Ed's, thank you for all the hard work done here, and for moderating and facilitating the flow of info, ideas and exchanges.
Great job!
Could you clarify the FSG and Lebron James relationship!.
I love the idea that such a high profile 'non football' sports star is associated with LFC, hopefully more such synergies are planned by FSG.
Regards, Shankly's Red Army.

{Ed002's Note - If you search the archives there is a fuller explanation back somewhere, but it is a real simple deal that FSG gave up a tiny percentage of the club as part of a deal to have the rights to market James around the world. He has worn a lIverpool search during the occasional interview.}

Sir alex x is currently holidaying in THE CANARIES, and he entrusted me to keep you cheerful, positive, and motivated.

Ahh that explains why just few months back you were an Everton hardcore supporter and now you are a glory hunter united fan ..
Its your multiple personality disorder playing up again, it seems to explode whenever the team that is in-vogue --in your head-- suffer a spanking.
I guess your next personality will be a man city long time follower?
--By the way are you still after Bob the Red?, or have you now accepted he is not interested and moved on.

Roy

If any united fan forgets the score turn your 19 titles upside down and you will see it

Im a united fan, and to above comment - i actually hadn't heard that one yet, quite witty. Made me chuckle.

No sarcasm intended :)

Just saw a post "90% of liverpool fans would tale dzeko over carroll and the other 10% need there heads checked! Come forth,oh wise one! Show yourself. Ever heard of a thing called form? Look at the two this time last year? Who would you have chosen then? Honestly? Boo ya fool! Welshboy Dave!

Carroll 31 goals from 80 appearances 17 of which came in the championship

Dzeko 66 goals from 111 appearances all in the bundesliga
Carroll £35 million
Dzeko £27 million

What is your argument again?

Chris in Tamworth

Last Season

Andy Carroll 19 apps 11 goals for Newcastle

After January

Andy Carroll 7 apps 2 goals
Edin Dzeko 15 apps 2 goals

In Andy Carroll's first season as a genuine first team player and only at the age of 21! he was unplayable for most sides.

When he arrived at Liverpool he was barely fully fit for any games and yet scored as many goals as Dzeko who was fully fit, started most games and was 24 years old.

Edin Dzeko was panned last year, and now look at him. players need time to gel and understand how their teammates play.

Did anyone watch the last 10 minutes against Norwich when Andy got on? They were in fear.

Jatt YNWA

It was me that posted about dzeko weshboy dave,i gues thats what you are just a boy,bless ya thats why your football knowledge is a little on the poor side,well if football was played with just the head and 1 or 2 long shots per season id choose carrol,but it aint so i stick with dzeko all day,i'll compare for you :)

speed, dzeko wins this carrol is like carra!
finishing,dzeko but you know that yourself!
touch,dzeko,carrol aint got 1 mate
heading,close but ill give it carrol
movement,dzeko,carrol is needing work on this also :)
strength,draw for me

dzeko is class compared to carrol i will stand by what i say and even sign this. i hope he comes good proves me wrong but sorry i cant see it,look at marcus stewart in his 1st season in prem what did he do after?

24 Oct 2011 18:41:38
after analysing the last few games, it's crystal clear we are in need of one type of player in january to really set our team on the path to glory.

it's a finisher, in the mould of fowler, owen, rush even torres. i honestly believe if FT had stayed in Jan and with the signing of LS, we would have taken the chances we've missed against stoke, manchester and norwich plus not forgetting sunderland. add these points to what we have and we'd be 2nd.

candidates for clinical finishers?
in the prem i'd have to say defoe and anelka, maybe even Bent. but i can't see the first two leaving and bent would cost £20m at least plus Villa will play silly buggers again.

out of the prem
i'd say benzema, soldado or rossi from spain and
cavani from italy. i would also include Klose but he is gettin on a bit and just moved to lazio but is still a quality finisher. add mario gomez from germany.

all of these would cost a few but if i had to pick one, as a long term investment as well as for now i'd go with Rossi.

for me he is as near as we're gonna get to owen/fowler again. he'd prob cost £20-25m minimum but i can see him playing off luis/carroll for years. he's had experience of the premiership at manpoo and newcastle and is a top finisher. so good that barca are looking at him. i say pay what it takes and get him in. imagine if he'd played the last 2 weekends...

in the 2nd half of the season he'll more than make his money back by firing us into the champions league again

ynwa...sinner786

Don't think so! FSG is certainly not a sugar daddy like Sheihk Mansour of s**tty.
After spending close to 100M, with stadium issue on the rise would be surprised if FSG are wiling to splash another 40-60M but surely not out of the question.

Rossi would also be my choice but believe me Villarreal won't be letting go of their prized asset unless we offer 35-40m pounds.
If Rossi are to sign I would expect some players to move on so we can get back a few quids. Most probably Kuyt & Maxi.

pytbull

The money is there as per Kenny. The owners recouped 50m from FT and stronly desire Champions League football. If Kenny wants to splash another 35m but this time on a lethal finisher - he will. {Ed002's Note - The money from Torres has been long spent - or do you think Kenny has it stashed under the floorboards?}

Bent would be ideal for us right now, but he had poor patches in his career too. We should back Carroll to come good. If we do sign a striker I hope it's Roberto Soldado

Red Ollie

Carroll will come good. The problem is formation. Really we should be playing him with Suarez in either a 4-4-2 or a 4-3-3 but quite how we do that is a matter of some debate. For instance, if we go 4-4-2, who is the first pick midfield?Downing, Lucas, Adam, Gerrard? What a bout 4-3-3 front three of Bellamy, Carroll and Suarez? Who would be midfield trio -Gerrard, Lucas & Downing? We have a problem in that half the team is ideal for one formation and half for the other - but which way do we go? RED LENIN

We don't need one good player, we need several. Aside from Suarez, nobody offers any threat whatsoever. Top teams have 3 or 4 offensive players on the pitch at all times. We are just as unidimensional as we were 4 years ago, with the difference that Rafa knew how to make the most of it, and Kenny hasn' t quite figured it out.

24 Oct 2011 18:25:09
Can't believe the negativity on here about our team and Kenny and people wanting Rafa back.lol. He was a good servent but he left at the right time after signing some incredibly bad replacments for top players. Henderson needs time to play in his right position and I'm sure he will come good as will downing and adam. Suarez and enrique have been class buys and Kenny is actually giving the youngsters a chance. Its a big game for us on wed let's hope we progress and we owe Stoke one anyway.

It's OK if anyone label me being too negative, moaning, bitching & whinging. But I am not going to stay relaxed and watch as our team aren't playing up to my expectations & not wining. I don't like to hold my frustrations in, it gives me relief when i put its out of mind. So don't hold any grudge against me!
I am fully behind Kenny & players but still what is wrong is wrong, No matter who it is! Dalglish, Stevie, Carra, Carroll, Kuyt, Pepe or Suarez. No player is bigger than the club.

I also have this strange feeling that we will be knocked out of league cup and slwoly drifting away from that 4th spot behind the likes of Spurs, Newcastle & Arsenal

pytbull

'I am fully behind Kenny and the players...'

And then

'I have this strange feeling we are going to get knocked out of the League Cup..'

Being 'behind' a team usually means trying to emphasise the positives in their performances, build confidence, be optimistic within reason, AND especially just before a game.
If the team that you are behind went into their games thinking as you did, we'd be relegated next May!

You might do 'your' team more good by getting yourself behind Spurs I think.

AC

I understand your frustrations pytbull, and find it ludicrous when posters come in here and attack anyone that dared to express a critical view in the team or the way we played and then gets accused of not being a supporter. I think all of us here behind the team 100% , and when we dont get the results, its frustrating because we know we can do a lot better, we had an excellent end to last season and I am very disappointed we couldnt build on it. And the worrying aspect is we dont seem to be getting better, the same deficiencies since the start of this season, which is hitting the target, we do all the hard work up to the last third.
Roy

I don't think the final 3rd is the problem Roy mate. It's the final 6 yards, we are struggling with.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

Our season is certainly not going according to the plan as far as i am concerned. I cant stand there saying it's ok everything is alright.

Great post AC - I really don't understand what some people expected this year. If they had their way we would sack the manager and sell all the players after every six games.

Ladies (predominantly) and Gentlemen,

I have read some of your posts today, and i keep seeing the name of "Sir Alex x" or "Slur Alex" being mentioned on a regular basis. Please, it is not all about this character, although lets face it he is the most intelligent, not to mention most handsome poster on here.

This poster has distracted you. It's about Liverpool's many, many, many, many, many, many years of failure and it's deluded, whinging, whineing, poor poor me, self proclaimed bestest fans in the world, who wouldn't know a good player from a bar of soap, but think they are "knowledgeable"!

Please get back to concentrating on your miserable under-achieving synchronised diving team, who's manager is an out of date old relic, who has paid ridiculous money for players who arn't good enough, resulting in a team that is average at their very very best.

FOCUS PEOPLE, FOCUS!

Talking of out of date relics - has the much older Alrx Ferguson found you a new mid-fielder yet?

rich from a team that had ronaldo and still has nani, little piss, wig rugney and berbatoss. they've spent more time on their backs. with their feet in the air screaming foul, than imogen thomas. suppose thats what happens when ryan giggs is around you all the time...:)
if you weren't so worried by us you wouldn't be making up your little stories and your mindless dross. but making up lies seems to be a manutd thing lately.... isn't that right patrice?

You know the way city have spent big on player prices and fee's and have now hit form, do you think FSG will buy one or two players who are real star quality who demand big wages...

MJ

Ed? {Ed002's Note - The answer is going to be no. I don't really know what is meant by "star quality" but I guess you are thinking about the likes of Neymar, Ganso, Hazard etc.. I am afraid that you need to accept that it is not going to happen any time soon.}

Hazard is a done deal as part of Joe Coles loan.Why do you keep saying it is'nt Ed ? Common knoledge.

{Ed002's Note - There is no agreement in place as part of Cole's loan deal, or any other sort of agreement in place for Eden Hazard to move to Liverpool in January, next summer or at any other point. You really need to look elsewhere.}

I think he may have been taking the mickey a little there ed but I see why you dont indulge the joke because then some plonker will be going around saying "were signing ganso". Anyway keep up the good work mate. Cheers

Dont know why we go all over europe for young talent what about our own Suso and Raheem. when can we see they come out and Rock in Epl {Ed002's Note - Perhaps the opportunity of a loan next season, but still a couple of years away from the opportunity to be a regular in the first team.}

Once Rafa Mix Out With His Routation policy. Hope Kenny dont do that. For me in Norwich game Kyut must sub for Hendo not Bellamy he was good touch in the match. Gerrard look a bit tired , spearing should replace him. Carrol should have 20 minute rather then 10 minutes.

Just wanted to say that i admire Enrique or gettin behind his team-mate especially Suarez, this is what he had to say. "Last week, he (Ferguson) defended his team because we played them. The truth is Luis is a really dangerous player and is a really nice guy. He doesn't dive.

"Some of the Manchester United players (go down like they) dive into the swimming pool. They defend their team, we defend our team - that's normal."

Love it!

Oh and great work eds! ;)

Last season
Sunderland home drew
Arsenal Away Drew
Bolton home win
Stoke away Lost
Spurs Away Lost
Wolves home lost
Everton away lost
man united home win
blackpool home lost

This season
Sunderland home drew
arsenal away win
Bolton home win
stoke away lost
spurs away lost
wolves home win
everton away win
man united home drew
norwich home drew

Last season results against the 9 teams we played (if we swap Blackpool for Norwich) we had lost 5 drawn 2 won 2 leaving us on 8 points and future was looking bleak under roy, now were 7 points better of and playing well just need to finish better and we will be flying - i dont see why all the negativety?

We are still playing excellent football but we just need to capitalise on our chances.

For me I would like us to look at the following players for January.

Sergio Canales ( currently on loan at Valencia ) he's a quality midfielder who would add so much class to our team.

Ever Banega, Valencia quality midfielder who would add strength to our team with his tackling and passing ability. Could get him for 10-12 million.

Ibrahim Affelay quality right winger with pace to burn. Currently injured but would be available for Less than 10 million.

All the above are much cheaper options than the likes of Marin and Goetz. Who I think are out of our reach at present.

In attack. I would prefer Lavezzi of Napoli. He would cost around 20 million but a quality addition. Napoli could be out of the CL come Jan and if we are pushing for a top four place then he could be interested.

I would love Soldado of Valencia, he is exactly what we need, a natural finisher.

maka

Canales and Banega would cost a lot of money and Affelay has a pretty bad injury i think.
RustyNigel

I'd love Giuseppe Rossi, he'd be perfect but expensive.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

Banega would of cost roughly 9-12 million this summer gone, Affelay is injured but I'd think he would cost less than 10 million.

Canales could go for 12 possibly, to be honest I'd pay upto 17 million for him.

Careful Blair. People will talk, not least your missus.
Iggypop

Rossi would come cheaper than the missus, Iggy mate.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

Ps. To the unnamed poster, Canales is on loan at Valencia for 2 years and he got injured at the weekend and is out for 6 months.

I think Valencia also have an option to take him on a permanent deal after the 2 years for around 12m, am I right ed?

I don't understand why Madrid would want to possibly lose such a talented young player..

maka {Ed001's Note - yes, and simply because he was a flop at Madrid and failed to live up to expectations. Though they barely gave him a chance to be fair to him, Madrid prefer to buy stars these days.}

There is the chance that he returns before the end of the season, gets his fitness back. Liverpool qualify fo CL football and show an interest. Canales shows an interest in a move to us and Real are keen to offload to recoup some cash and the loan agreement is terminated.

I'm sure Real can call the player back if they want.

He's a quality player so out of

C. Eriksen.
I. Affelay.
K. Honda.
A. Johnson.
M. Marin.
E. Banega.
I think we have a chance of signing two of these in the summer maybe three.

24 Oct 2011 16:44:41
Ed can you confirm if we actually have signed Bueno? It seems to have gone quiet on that front.

If he has do you know how he's progressed since he joined?

Also do you know how Coates has been doing since he joined? I've seen his appearances since he signed but how's he getting on in general? If you are privy to this info of course. {Ed002's Note - I know the club offered a trial to Marco Bueno but I don't know that any agreement is in place. Plus he could not make the move until he was 18 at the earliest. Coates is having to adapt and learn a new language. He is young and it will take time.}

24 Oct 2011 16:41:51
Even if Carroll does start scoring I still feel we need another striker to cover injury, suspensions and loss of form. I'm aware we have Bellamy also but strength in depth is required.

I think Kuyt needs to be sold in January as I think it's the last chance to get a decent price for him ( 8-11 million ). I also think Rodriguez will move in January as he doesn't get a lookin this season.

For me the ideal two players in my opinion would Ibrahim Affelay of Barca. Admittedly he is injured at present but he's still young and is quick and very skilful, plus Barca don't seem to be able to give him a game.

The other player would be Lavezzi from Napoli. He's such a good striker his movement is superb and I feel he's one of them players that would instantly adapt to the prem.

Don't get me wrong I'm not slagging Carroll off as I don't slate the players both Carroll and Henderson just need time to settle.

Enrique has been a bargain so far and it's good to see that nightmare position actually being solved for once.

Downing has been ok upto now but he's the only out and out wide player we have at present so another one at least is needed. Was sorry to see Marvueax not sign as he would have provided competition in that position.

Bellamy has been great (when he gets a game) he adds pace skill and passion, a shrewd piece of business by the club for the short term.

So it's Lavezzi and Affelay for me for the January window and if not Affelay then Johnson from City would be second choice.

Carroll needs time to settle? 10 months is a long time.

Now he Carroll has to be shaped in the way of the dragon or something else mysterial what rubbish either he can play or he cant?

I am not making you out to be a bad fan and i apolgise if thats what you thought. But we can only win three comps this season and the Carling Cup is one of them. All developing teams win a comp before they challenge for a title and silverware is the most important thing at Liverpool and also it would be nice to win at the Brittania somewhere we have never won.

Also we need a win to take the frustrations of norwich away. I also believe we are in a very good position in the league only 5pts behind Man U. Who whether we like it or not have been the bench mark for the rest in past seasons and are still title favourites even after what happened yesterday. The winter is just around the corner i believe then you will see how good city are and cant wait to give them a good going over on the 27th nov.

Mighty reds

Yeah I will be fully behind the team on Wednesday. Now that the club is taking the Carling Cup seriously, and has stopped treating it as a way to give playing time to youngsters and reserves, I am taking it seriously too. All I meant before was that for a few years I haven't thought of the Carling Cup games as a key part of the calendar - they've been more of an unwelcome distraction in a crowded fixture list. Even now, if I could choose between beating Stoke and beating West Brom I'd pick the league game any day. But that doesn't mean I don't see the Carling Cup games as important fixtures

As I see it what the owners have done so far is just stage 1. What people did not realise was how far we was behind the rest of the teams in and around the top 4. There obviously is still a problem with the amount of goals we are scoring compared to the amount of opportunities we are creating. Without a shadow of a doubt this will improve if we keep playing the attacking football that we are. We still need to get rid of a few players ( Aurelio, Spearing, Maxi and Kuyt in my opinion ) and buy a Defensive midfielder, Right midfield and another forward ( I wont name names as that is down to everyones opinion but they have to be top quality and wont come cheep).
Dont forget all the great work that is going on behind the scenes getting great sponsors for our club and the very to be soon announced stadium plans. It wont happen overnight but our great club will challange for the very top honours soon just dont get downhearted when we have some games which dont go the way we want. Norwich was a prime example, we battered them and we all know it.If we create that amount of chances in every game then I for one will not be complaining as im sure the goals will start to come.

Do you not believe luck is required in any sport? The ref gives a bad decision & you get a penalty? Maybe the ball hits the bar & hits the back of the keeper on the way in! Or maybe the football hits a beach ball & deflects into the goal? Or do you beleive that every thing that happens on the pitch is down to the skill of a footballer & the good refereeing decisions?

Any game Liverpool play in is a big game in my eyes? Anybiody else agree?

Yeah of course, but I bet you weren't debating formations and tactics for that friendly against Rangers were you? The Carling Cup is always treated like a friendly/youth competition when we have European football, don't make me out to be some kind of bad fan because I haven't taken the Carling Cup seriously for a while

Red Ollie

Well im afraid you are a bad fan if you have taken any competiton we are in lightly over the years

Jimmy Cater Was Pants

What? I took it seriously when we played our full strength team and tried to get far in the competition. I stopped taking it seriously when we started fielding the youth players and going out in the early rounds. I'll take it seriously again now that the club is taking it seriously. But still, if we win the Carling Cup I'll be less excited than if we win the Premier League - does that make me a bad fan?

Fellow Reds.
It is truly embarassing to read some of the posts here.
Moaning, whinging and bitching, is this how some of you support the team.
Are you true fans and supporters or merely miserable people, who have nothing better to do than criticise the manager and players.
Stop all the negativity, and support the team.

i could not agree more kiwi, i went to the norwich game and we were all over them for most of the 90 mins. we are playing some cracking football and when it all clicks into place we will be challenging for honours!
we have an almost entire new squad and i seriously believe it takes more than a few months to gell, city took about 3 seasons to get there with 100's of millions of pounds and wages above 100.000 a week.
some people are so impatiant, this is not football manager and this is not fifa.
also i think people need to signb up to lfc tv and watch the whole match and not just snipits on motd.
carroll should of been on from the start yesturday with suarez bellamy and downing behind him, he acctually looked pretty handy (excuse the pun) when he cam on!
one last thing if u like deko and aguero so mnuch go support city(your starting to bore us all), get behind kenny and the boys and lets push on. when we start smashing it i will be here waiting for your apology.
and before you sart spouting cr*p at me sir alex i dont wanna here it.

Spot on mate. Like I said at the start 4th place is prob the best we can hope for this year.

MIKEY

Bang on mate. I think that Carroll is improving a lot and his touch and movement inside the box has improved no end. He no longer waits for the ball to come to him in the box and rely's on his size to get the ball, now he is moving around and getting across defenders. Just needs a decent run of games in the starting line up and he will be scoring with much more regularity.

Kenny: "I just keep waiting for our luck to change. As soon as our luck changes we'll be all right. And that's all it is."

Well King,
Agree with the fact that luck is not quiet on our side, but blaming luck & the refs for everything is not a responsible response i expect from such a well respected footballing genius like you.

Have noticed, Kenny is getting some of his tactics wrong recently and some times it makes me feel whether Kenny is having difficulties in deciding what to do next. Have a look at Norwich game why on earth he pulled out Bellamy when he was doing excellent down the left & Downing was awful on the right, when we were crying for Andy Carroll to come on, he puts him only 5 mins to ko & shocked me by replacing him with Downing when Kuyt was doing far worse than him. When Henderson was countless times mentioning his best position is CM not RM & when he is doing poor on that position again & again still Kenny tries to put him there. We paid Andy Carroll 35M pound to play & score goals not to sit on the bench when we are crying for him to come & make an impact on the game still Kenny don't think the time is right to come in. If Kenny thinks he has done a mistake in buying Carroll then sell him! I would certainly be happy.

Come on Kenny get your tactics right enough of this blaming the refs & luck!

We've hit the woodwork 8 times in the league this season. We've also had some outstanding saves against us (Begovic, Hennessey, De Gea, Ruddy), missed 2 penalties, had some absolute corkers scored against us (Larsson, Modric) and still we are on 15 points in a respectable 6th. Anyone saying we're playing poorly is talking out of their arse

100% agree mate (whoever you are). Couldn't have put it better. These so called fans who continually slag off KK, AC, Hendo, Carra, Stevie, Downing, Adam and anyone else they can remember who play for LFC - have pretty short memories. It'll be the owners next. Makes me feel embarrssed they call themselves supporters. 9 games in and it's all over for some of this lot.
Some team will be on the end of a spanking soon then they'll all change their tune.

In many ways we have a similar issue to United. We both have good young players coming through. United have Smalling, Jones, Cleverly and Welbeck coming through the ranks. But United's best first team imo wouldn't include any of these players:

De Gea
Fabio-Ferdinand-Vidic-Evra
Young-Fletcher-Anderson-Nani
Rooney-Hernandez

We have Kelly, Coates, Henderson and Carroll, of similar ages. But again, our first choice team would not include these players. Many of them are being played anyway because development at this stage is vital. United are rejuvenating their team, and it is perhaps no surprise that they lost to City, a team full of established stars. Their rebuilding, just like ours, will take time. But United have the upper hand in that their team was already better than ours. So we have got the future coming through the ranks, as United do, but, unlike United, our first-team wasn't good enough previously to sustain results through this developmental stage

Agree about the development being vital, Xavi at Barcelona was bloodied at an early age, I remember Seedorf in an interview saying there were better players than him in the Barca squad but they chose to blood him at an early age as they could see the potential and now they have the reward of one of the best midfielders in the world.

I think we will benefit by playing Kelly, Flanagan, Henderson, Carroll, Coates and the likes of Coady, Suso and Wisdom in the next few years.

We are in a rebuilding phase, I am happy with the amount of chances we made at the weekend, soon we are going to really put a few away just like citeh ;op

Development is vital but I hope we reap the benefits sooner rather than later

I think all the doom mongers need to cheer up a little I mean for the last couple of years all we have ever moaned about is not creating enough chances and right now we are creating bucket loads we've just been really unlucky in front of goal I mean I would love to see how many times we have hit the woodwork compared to everyone else we seem to do it at least twice a game so sooner or later they will start to go in and then we will be up and running in Kenny we trust...

Actually the last couple of yrs I have been moaning about the hoofing of Carra. AKA, Can't be blamed at all, AKA the greatest defender of all time, AKA Mr Liverpool AKA Quicer than Usain Bolt,AKA undroppable,

Hi all,

Its amazing to see the likes of "Sir Alex" still having a pop. Their "mighty" new defence has been well and truly found out like I've been saying all season.

Anderson has got to be the most over weight player in the prem as proved when he knocked Micah Richards over using nothing but his bus sized back side!

Anyway back to my point relating to the new Stadium. I said a while back an announcement will be made at the end of Sept which obviously didn't happen. It was supposed to coincide with FSG 1 year in charge.

I have looked into why this hasn't happened and discovered there are 2 reasons.

1) FSG believe the council are feeling the pressure at the slow developments and feel this can work in their favor. Although national and European laws can't be waivered (with regard to CPO's) the board believe the council can legally grant planning permission for a larger capacity stadium to finally generate the investment in the area.

2) The club are waiting to see the definite capacity of the new stadium before signing off the naming rights deal. They feel a bigger ground is worth bigger sponsorship deal.

The new ground WILL be built and current planning permission has been extended to the middle of November to allow negotiations to continue. The problem is the club knows the council is desperate for the new ground to be built and feel like they are holding all the cards!

Huyton Red - Thanks for the site Ed

Anfield is in despair at its worst start to a season since 1953-54, when Liverpool were relegated

"Dalglish! Dalglish! Dalglish!" was the plaintive cry

Ian Holloway's team was outstanding: well-drilled, committed to attack and spirited in the face of adversity. Everything Liverpool, under their floundering new manager, are not.

"Their great result is our nightmare result," Hodgson said, and for the next two weeks there will be no escape from the ignominy of the bottom three.

October 3rd 2010 Liverpool 1 Blackpool 2. A little over 12-months ago this was our third defeat of the season, at home to newly promoted Blackpool, the next game we lost 2-0 away to Everton and we were firmly entrenched in the bottom three.

12-months later we have the manager most fans wanted and are now playing with fast and dynamic pass-and-move football. It's arguable that apart from Spurs, our performances in all the league games we have played so far have been more than acceptable. There has been a massive improvement from this time last year. We are creating chances every game and with a bit more luck we could have easily won the last two home games. If we can pick-up a goal scorer in January I think this team will look really strong - especially if we can stop the individual defensive errors that have cost us recently.

Been rebuilding for 21 years mate. Of course we will still support but we don't have to live in la-la land do we? Our team is not good enough, we have players who need to move on and we need to buy better quality. Don't u agree?

No name you expecting us to win the league this year if you are there some fan's on another page that will call you deluded and they will be 100 percent right.

The best we can hope for is 4th ( and even that will be tough ) or a good run in a cup comp ( Stoke hard game ) were mile's behind city ( money bag's ) chelsea ( oil man ) and united ( massive ground and big support ) .

Be realistic lad's , let's see what's happen come jan , maybe we might get 1 or 2 good addition's to are squad to help us kick on for the second half of the season , finger's crossed ( and toe's ) .

21 year's re building , 1 European cup , 3 fa cup , 3 carling cup , 1 uefa cup , an 1 or 2 more thing's i reckon , some team's have never won that in there history grow up lad . K96 .

if carroll was pick'd from the startn for the norwich game he would have got one header ...mabey one that kuyt missed

What about the one carroll actually missed clean header and sends it wide. RedTurk

That wasnt as easy as it looked RedTurk

Red turd prob never watched the game and he always bashes Carroll no matter what. It was a diff header for sure.

Carroll should have scored however the header wasnt easy as he was crouching down and trying to head it side on, not easy. Plus he had only been on for about 8 minutes.

Gooooooood Mornnnnnningggg Uuuuuunnnniitedddd !
This is your friendly DJ The Real KB coming through loud and clear from Radio 616 on the Mersey Delta.
Weather this morning in Salford City is low low cloud and rain, this afternoon rain, tonight rain, boy it's rainy.
We got a traffic update from the Mancunian Way from our eye in the sky reporter Penny Lane.
How's it going there Penny ?
There's real bad traffic backed all the way into Trafford. Maybe 70,000 cars stuck fast, been like that since around 4pm yesterday afternoon, they're just not moving, all trying to head south.
Thanks Penny, avoid that one folks if you can.
In the news, King Kenny I of Scotland has offered emergency aid to the beleaguered people of Manchester after a seismic earthquake at the weekend. Geologists say the quake was caused by the impact of half a million jaws dropping to the floor at the same time. King Kenny is to fly out ten planes worth of Alan Hansen's new DVD "Shocking Defending" to keep the people amused whilst the army tries to get to grips with the disaster.
But it's music time folks. Its 10.54am on Monday, start of a new week. We got a dedication to the guys - Stevie, Jamie, Charlie, Glen - of A Company currently on a training exercise in the highlands of Melwood. This one's by the Godfather of Soul himself, the one and only James Brown.
Yessirr, it's "I Feel Good".
Wowwww, hit it James....

You forgot to mention the serious threat of flooding in salford,due to the rest of manchester pissing themselves laughing,jimmybosun,

Great post mate! It really made me laugh aloud. I work in Manchester and couldn't wait to get in this morning.
Lots of responses already to the Utd helpline 0161 616 6161.

"Absolutely diabolical"... Had Hansen's voice going through my head there (with reference to yesterday's game, not your post Real KB - that was just priceless mate)

in order to win the league you need a strong squad and we dont.
if suarez doesnt play we have a problem gerrard will be bck but needs a few more matches.
enrique has been outstanding for us.
henderson needs time
suarez the real deal
adam a squad player
coates for the furure
downing a good player.
we need 2 defenders 1 midfielder 1 winger and another striker all these need to be class.
buying caroll for 35mil was a mistake we could have bought 2 player for that money.
this winter and next summer are crucial if we will get back were we belong.
carra kuyt need to be replaced with pure class.

Carra & Kuyt not starters anymore. Agreed.

After 20 matches last season we under 25 points. This took us just into the new year. That should be our next goal/target. To try & get to 25 points asap then see how many we can accumulate in the 20 games. No point lookin too far down the Line.

The Irish Rover

ARE YOU JOKING?

We have spent heavily on new talent and I expect us to have at lesat 35-40 points by Christmas if we are still to be in the hunt for a top 4 place next year.

Liverpool team vs Stoke

Reina

Kelly Coates Carragher Agger

Henderson Spearing Lucas Maxi

Bellamy Kuyt

Subs: Doni, Flanagan, Wilson, Gerrard, Downing, Suarez, Carroll

Neither Kuyt nor Carragher will play on Wednesday .

I know i sound like a stuck record but carra would not ever again make my team sheet unless agger and skertel were both injured. too slow and hoofs everything into row z

Have you seen the state of some of the comments on the official liverpool site in regards to the norwich game?! shocking.....who are these so called liverpool fans...some of the comments are unbelivably mis-guided....Im all for freedom of speech but who else reckons liverpool should do away with the comments section on the site....Its slightly embarrising.

Booo to the doofus comments

Hi ed,
Any news on stadium issue?
Heard we are building a new 65K stadium at Stanley park.
If it is true by any means, i think 65K may be little bit too less for the future, how ever if the stadium is expandable say up-to 70-75K then it won't be a problem.

pytbull
{Ed001's Note - the decision hasn't been definitely made yet. But Stanley Park only has permission for a 65k stadium due to the infrastructure in the area. Any bigger would require a complete overhaul of the surrounding area and regeneration, plus a submission of an alteration to the planning permission granted.}

We are Lazy Decision maker. more then a year and still not confirm what we want about stadium? even in transfer market we are same Lazy too .

No mate, Pepe met David de Gea on Friday night for Tapas. De Gea passed some goalie tips on to Pepe about Norwich.
Unfortunately, Pepe was daft enough to listen.

I am going to throw something out there and id like everyones honest opinion: I dont think the owners trust KK and thats why they made sure an experienced quality coach in Steve Clarke was bought in to oversee the coaching and Commoli was brought in to oversee all the signings. I reckon the pressure to appoint KK was so emphatic that the owners didnt really have a choice but to appoint him. I dont believe for one second that if there was no pressure from fans that they would have appointed him in the first place.

Leo Idaho
----------------------------------------
Surely it was KK that went after Steve Clarke & not the owners. Commoli was already at the club before KK took over the reigns again so this is also wrong. I also beleive that some of the Eds have stated that other people were interviewed for the managers job.

Listen, I really don't know what fans are expecting. They keep coming up with the money spent & reckon that it should be enough to wipe the floor with all teams around them.

If we had stuck 5 past Norwich, all the fans would be drooling over how fluid we look, because we didn't they start questioning team formation & player selection. There is no rational thought into their posts, just rants & moans. I look at the game on Saturday & see the only we missed was putting the ball in the back of the net, some down to bad luck & good defending & some down to poor finishing.

Our inability to beat lesser teams at Anfield has been a monkey on our back, not just this season but for the last 20 years. Find the solution to this & we find the answer to winning the league.

The Irish Rover

12 months ago we were leaving oppo' goalies virtually unemployed... 12 months on & we created 25+ goal attempts with 3 in reply against Norwich. Norwich in turn had more chances at Old trafford but were unlucky. Keyword 'unlucky'... I'm gutted but not disponndent. Bring on West Brom!

dd

According to the gaffer, we need luck!

SingRed

The Irish Rover - I picked up on this also mate but if you read the original post it is obvious he is a folklorist so there is no point trying to explain it to him.

Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

JRG

What we need is a striker not a prancer

Dear Santa please could you get
Real Madrid to please buy Suarez

The Elf

"I look at the game on Saturday & see the only we missed was putting the ball in the back of the net"
lol you do know you have to score to win games. Stupid post.

JRG the only person is you if you are seriously gonna sit there and tell me that Dalglish would have been appointed if there was no pressure from the fans? Get real mate. Any liverpool fan that tells me any different is living in a fantasy world.

I dont tust KK as a manager of this football club. Can you imagine the state of our team and where we'd be without the tactical genius of Steve Clarke? It is the not the 1990's where attacking one touch quick passing fluid football is enough to win games...the league and the game has changed and this shows with the decline of arsenal who havent been able to find another dimension to their play....I dont feel Dalglish is ready for the rigours of this league. He flopped at Celtic, He flopped at Newcastle towards the end and it ended disastrously at Blackburn too. He has not demonstrated that he can build a team that can sustain a title challenge year in and year out.

If it was judged purely on paper there's no way dalglish would have been considered for the role, it is only due to his ties to the club and his iconic status that he was appointed....this is not the way to run a business or a football club.

It will all end in tears and Dalglish will buckle under the pressure and quit like he has done in every one of his managerial roles.

Leo Idaho {Ed001's Note - you clearly are out of touch, Barca, have you heard of them? They are doing exactly what you say can't be done in modern football. You also have absolutely no idea of Dalglish's record, he took Blackburn into the Prem, then he won it and, as had been agreed, he stepped out of the role of manager. Celtic he was only a caretaker manager, though it was not a good spell I agree, hard to do much more with the shambles Barnes left him. At Newcastle he was brought in with a mandate to reduce wages and was not allowed much of a budget to work with. He also had to reinstate the youth system that the idiot that was Keegan had dismantled. Yes it didn't go well, but it was not like he was doing what Wenger is doing, it was more like the way Leeds were during their plunge from the Prem. It was not a case of keeping costs down like Arsenal or Everton do, it was a case of slashing outgoings completely. Perhaps you should do some research before spouting nonsense.}

Ed maybe you should learn to read my posts more accuarately and not just read what you want to hear. Your Barca analogy is redundant as a basis for argument as my point referred to teams playing in the epl. Arsenal have demonstrated this. Tactically you need to be multi dimensional in the EPL. Yes in italy and spain it is a different ball game but i am not talking about foreign leagues so you're reference to Barca is out of context bro.

You have written a whole paragraph regarding Dalglishs managerial career and all you've done is confirm what I originally said in my post. I didnt say he was unsuccessful at Blackburn or Newcastle I was referring to how all his spells ENDED. He hasnt hasnt has any sustained success anywhere and alwys ends up quitting or not committing.

Theres no need to be so aggressive Ed...my original post is cohesive, factual and well written, if you dont agree with it then thats you're business. Next time try actually reading it through properly first before jumping to wayward conclusions.

Leo Idaho {Ed001's Note - are you being serious? You clearly have not read what I said, just carried on with the same media based lies about Dalglish. You original post was nonsense, United won the league last season playing good football, City are top this season playing excellent pass and move football. Are you being deliberately obtuse to try and dig at Dalglish? Or are you just a WUM? You know nothing about why Dalglish left his jobs, you are clearly not even intent on understanding any of the situations in those jobs he had afterwards. You also know nothing about the man, or why he has always held out for a return to Liverpool. Typing a few long words in an attempt to seem clever means nothing, understanding is not based on vocabulary. You certainly did not understand. After all you don't even understand your own posts, or you would know that to say the game has changed, which does not restrict your subject to the English league as they also play the game in Spain, just in case you didn't realise.}

Ed are you for real? The spanish league is a different beast altogther...its less intense, slower paced, players get a lot more time on the ball and it is a far less competitive league.

Yes Man Utd have won the league playin good football and yes man city are doing the same but they both have balance. Man city have a strong backbone and are organised to within an inch of their lives. My point is I dont think Dalglish has the ability to find this balance. All his teams in the past have been attacking and fluid going forward but not always having the defensive stability. It worked back then but it it a different league now and Arsenals decline shows this...they have no plan B and nor do we atm.

Dalglish knows one way to play and that will be our undoing this season. Man city and utd know how to balance it out and usually have a plan b, c, d and e.

Look i am not trying to be clever or argue for the sake of it Ed, i am actually being pretty honest. Its just that you made a comment about barca when I was referring to how much OUR league has changed so i dont get why you're bringing barca into the equation.

We have different views, there is no right or wrong but I will say that you will probably concur with most of what I have said come the end of the season if things carry on as they are

Leo Idaho {Ed001's Note - because you said the game had changed and I was pointing out that it hadn't.}

Ok fair enough sorry for being an idiot. I did just mean our league but i read bk my post and i can see y u thought i said different.

Until next time...

Leo Idaho {Ed001's Note - no worries, I would have gone with the United/City metaphor to start with if I had read it that way. I understand what you are saying, but I feel good football always brings results myself. Look at Blackpool, they pay peanuts, they spend nothing on transfers, yet they managed to reach the Prem purely because they played good football.}

Hi Ed - surely his opinion that pass-and-move football can not be successful in the modern game is countered by the fact we have brought players like Carroll and Downing? This gives us the option of sending crosses into the box for the big guy. When was the last time Arsenal or Barcelona played like that?

JRG

Eds

I strongly disagree with reports that we need yet more defensive cover, as when fit our starting bk 4 is -- johnson-carra-agger-enrique and bk-up is -- kelly-coates-skrtel-aurelio, with flano,robinson,wisdom and sama as even more cover..

As for all the Carroll critics, be patient as he will come good soon, but he needs to sharpen up and look more lively then he will be in the team and get a good run of games behind which he needs and then the goals will come, Also Henderson is awesome, Him, Shelvey and Spearing the future Midfield, Futures bright ! !

BigD

Carra should not be starting 11!

Lol- Spearing for the future, u must be kidding! he is not a kid anymore, he will be 23 next year, he is not good enough. He hasn't really developed up-to our expectations. Being a local lad don't mean he has to play when he is nowhere good enough. Was surprised when LFC offered him a new contract him, sell him!

pytbull

So you think Johnson can defend - have you ever been to a football match ?

Carragher is , and always will be , a Liverpool legend but he is starting to look silly now , and that is a real pity .

Mind you , when I was 34 ( next birthday ) I could hardly get up the stairs .

24 Oct 2011 07:02:40
Hey Eds - What do you think is going to happen with Joe Cole at the end of the season? He seems to be doing well at Lille. Would we take him back? If not, how much could we sell him for?

Which of the loaned out players do you see coming back?

Great job with the site eds. Cheers. {Ed002's Note - He will leave for a smallish amount at best. He is owed money by the club so don't expect any profit.}

--------------------------------------------------------
Lets face it we will not be getting Eden Hazard in any deal involving Cole, but Cole can still make a huge difference to our team because when fully fit he is with out doubt World-Class, just a shame he was hammpered with injures shortly after he joined. Id expect us to get £5m for him.

Joe Cole is not & never was World Class! Wise up!

The Irish Rover

He done realy well in chelsea. and with liverpool he is like Aquaman not enough chance.

Joe cole was finished 3 yrs ago after his injury. n btw he was never world class.

24 Oct 2011 06:37:56
its not a rumour but I would like to know if Liverpool was interested in Silva as I still remember someone wrote here silva was not first choice for liverpool as firstly he is too fragile for EPL and secondly we have better options. I think Someone at LFC mis-judged silva. Anyway how long will our attack hit post. It pain to see the balls hit the post and city taking all their chances. Today we could have been the team who hit Manchester 4-5 goals. Anyone can also inform us what Dalgisg wanted to say by asking protection for suarez to referees.

When he was at Valencia, he was their best. Villa was getting more spotlight but he was always amazing.

I recall Benetiz always wanted him but couldn't get any money out of the owners at the time. He spent enough on Aquilani which I's have liked to have gone towards Silva but I expect valencia wanted money upfront and we had to pay instalments for Aquilani.

Shame, imagine Silva playing back when we had Alonso too, too much damage was done to the team over the last few years, we have to be patient to get back to where we belong.

If we'd signed Silva instead of Aquilani and Alves instead of Johnson we'd have an amazing team now

Red Ollie {Ed002's Note - Right. And Aguero instead of Carroll and Hazard instead of Henderson, and Messi instead of Downing, and Ganso instead of Adam. I can see where you are coming from here.}

Now your being silly

No Ed002 is not being Silly that is Standard she has to endure you have my sympathies Ed002

24 Oct 2011 06:14:23
Hi Ed....Great site and Great work...

Can i ask u something?? Is Spurs a good team than us? whats ur honest opinion...
I mean they keep winning..and we keep dropping...
they have spent 9 mil..and we have spent 100 mill
we say about 19 titles we won...but they have 19 points out of possible 24.....
thier away form is better than our home form..

Are we not ashamed that we are competing against them for 4th CL spot..as we have already surrounderd 3 position?

One more think...ed..lets leave about potential...whats special in charlie adam?
is that KK from scotland likes him a lot??
we have given him 9 games...and tell me what has he done??

the only happy incident happened with me this weekend was...utd lost by goals..and chelsea also lost..

i was analysing spurs with our team..
modrich is almost equal to gerrard.
they have 4 strikers..
we dont have anyone..apart from suarez.
their midfiled is 10 times better than us on any day..
they have vandervart, city has silva...we after spending 100mill does not have any one...

KK says team is above everyone...if so..y is he starting carra??
if he knows that we play brilliant in 4-2-3-1 formation...y did he bought carrol...who is never playing...and downing who was actually bought to supply for carrol??

KK will miss aqualini and meirels...u cant blame players for leaving...
if we dont qualify for CL...i can smell someone bidding 50 mill for suarez...

Ed is it true that KK doesnt like spanish players??

if u ask who are the top 3 players for every position in epl now...u wil lfind 2 spanish players in it..

was watching city against UTD...silva...OMG...he is outstanding...
rafa wanted to sign..but he did not had money..
we missed Mata...

lets analysine our next three games.
West Brom away...its gonna be a draw...
swansea hom...win for sure..
chelsea away..loose..
then we will be sitting 7th in the table...

something is going wrong...
we cannot excuse ourself everytime with our history, pride, etc etc..
every club is recognised by the trophies they win..
we need something this season...

I am a reds fan for life...cant see my team loosing...

money cant buy success....but is there any team..who has won without money?????

city beat UTD 6-1......worried wen they travell to anfield..

but lets keep faith
Ed i need your reply....

{Ed002's Note - Spurs are a decent side like Liverpool. I am pretty confident that at the end of the season both will be in the mix for the Champions League places and Europa League places. It is true that a great deal of money has been spent and I appreciate that the fans are getting a little frustrated with some of the players, with being told some were bought for the future and they will take time to "gel". However, it is yet again a case of reaping what you sow and if the players were to be replaced with another batch of talent then again it will take time for them to work together effectively. If Liverpool had defeated Norwich I suspect that many of these types of posts would not have been written this weekend.}

As usual Ed002 you are the only voice of reason here

Sorry ed002,posts like these have been coming all season,you can NOT defend kenny and his team paying out 55 million pound on 2 players to sit on a bench,there worth 20-25 max every other manager in the prem knows it! can you defend bringing kuyt off for agger? bringing bellamy off when he was our most exciting player,nothing happened once he left the pitch! {Ed002's Note - Posts like this come when there is a losing or otherwise not up to expectations performance. It is down to the frustration and fickleness of the fans. Many of the fans seem to need a hate figure each week - we have already had Carragher, Carroll, Henderson, Kuyt - now we have the manager and no doubt soon the owners. This time a year ago we had the manager, Lucas, and eventually everyone else. An inability to suck it up and move on is behind most of this. If Liverpool had won the game on Saturday I could be sat here reading about the preparations for the next game and you could be speculating over the arrival of Ganso and Higuain in January rather than painting your "Kenny Out" flag.}

PLayers have to gel, Man city spent a wad load more than us over the last few years and took them a couple of years to get to Champions League, you have to be patient with many new players so they can learn how to become a team. We've had to start all over again practically due to the good players who wanted to leave and getting rid of the crap Benetiz and Hodgson bought

^^ You are wrong about so much - Agger was brought on as Kenny changed to a 3-5-2 formation. As for nothing happening once Bellamy left the pitch I remember the goalkeeper making a world class save from Suarez and Carroll missing with a simple header. Don't distort the facts to fit or own hate filled negative point of view. The performance on Saturday was more than acceptable - we just missed our chances.

JRG

Players have to gel? They don't meet up once a week you know they do train together and have done for some time now....get a grip

We were in the 89th minute when agger came on

What do you think we were going to accomplish with the time that was left on the clock?

As Norwich were in the ascendency when Agger came on I am not surprised at Kenny trying to park the bus and at least get one point

Well the chances that fell to Suarez and Carroll were in injury time so it must have worked!

And how is changing to three centre-backs considered parking the bus? You obviously know very little about football if you believe Kenny was playing for a draw.

JRG

Silva joined Man City to play in the Champs League.
Until we can offer that we will not be able to attract the best.
So, I suggest this, get behind the team, support the manager, and believe!.

Sorry to repeat myself but if you watch the whole game and not just motd you can crearly see bellamy was absolutly knakerd.

billywa

Kenny was not playing for a draw how did you come to that conslusion from what I said - it beats bannaher

However with 3-4 minutes kleft to play he did not want Norwhich to win yeas we had chances at the end of the match but so to had norwich

Be fair in your analysis to Kenny mate, what would you be saying if Kenny had sent on maxi instead of agger and we lost

24 Oct 2011 05:22:20
Not being too critical..
We dominated Man utd and norwich if only we have taken our chances we would have been level on points on 2nd place..
We only need to give carroll time on pitch to be the natural finisher we are lacking..
Given Adam all Dead balls... and Carrol the chance to get on end of it..
Drop Kuyt to bench and play 4-3-3
Downing/Bellamy Carroll Suarez front 3 ...
Gerrard/Henderson Adam/Lucas to be mid 3 ..
BTW wheres Maxi ..is not he a good finisher atleast?

Suarez is a natural finisher people the goalie was just good on the day.

Your in denial

24 Oct 2011 04:42:40
Hi, Eds.

just wanna share my opinion regarding our players. It's not that I against Kenny's preference to recruit British talents, but I strongly feel that we also must combine with world's best talents outside Great Britain who are used to play in the highest competition.

I believe we need someone who can deliver final pass (apart from Stevie G) and a striker with a killer-goalscoring instinct.

What do you think, Eds? feedback would be much appreciated.

Cheers.
IndonesianRed {Ed002's Note - The club appear to be looking for a right sided striker right now. Anything else would probably driven by people leaving or injuries, at least in the short-term.}

All well and good but until we are back in Champions league the worlds best talents won't come to us

24 Oct 2011 04:06:26
Sir Alex.
Surely you have to admit, that it is a sad sight to see fans leaving after 60min, as was the case at Old Trafford on Sunday.
I am sure that you view fans like these in a "less than favourable light, and with some annoyance".
Fans like these are the 'seasonal variants', support only when a team is doing well, and nowhere to be found (as the left after 60min) when the team is struggling.
Are these the fans that best represent your club?.
These are the stupid, ignorant and "sub-intelligent", poor losers (the recent 'trendy fans') that no doubt piss you off, and generally annoy the crap out of all other supporters across the UK.

I was shocked at the fans leaving,they missed the last 3 goals!

In order to truly appreciate success, you need to have experienced failure!.
Food for thought.

It has been adressed to all the manunt fan that ferguson couldn't sleep whole night thinking about new name his team should have? Then he found that its not CHAMP19ON! Its CHAMP1-6N lolz...
And as per yesterday's game we deserved more than a point but norwich too deserved a point!

24 Oct 2011 01:56:43
Under Rafa, we had the ability to shut out the opponents and close out a game after taking the lead, but it's not happening anymore. We have conceded too many late goals. Something's wrong: are we too anxious to score more and leave our defence, which is already decidedly shaky, exposed?

SingRed

We need to bring back rafa...and give him a 100 mill...he wil lfirst sell carroll, adam downing and henderson..and will bring great players like alonso from spain...

I am not for the bring back Rafa as he rubish

However the selling of Downing Henderson, Suarez, Carroll etc. is good

Hence why Benitez can't get a job anywhere. Grow up kids, there's not a chance that John Henry or any intelligent club owner will ever employ Benitez again.
Josek

Do you forget that downing was liked by rafa? he wanted him. i also think hed go with henderson and carrol,and why would any manager sell suarez? so he falls over easy but he aint a bad player! i remember 2 months ago suarez was our new god1

Suarez was only the new god to people who understood little about the game

Check the old posts I was also sayin he aint good enough

He's no Torres just a cheap immitation

Rafa cost us Alonso and Masch.

Also we're playing much better football now... under both Houllier and Benitez we could boast of good defensive records but our attacking play was pretty damn poor unless one of our stars worked their magic, it's so much nicer to see us playing quick pass and move football (except when carra lumps it up the park!)

We are in No position to purchase top players right now. Why would Cavani, Hulk, or any other star player leave a winning, CL team for a 6th place PL team? Simple answer is they wouldn't and is the most likely reason Kenny spent millions on useless British trash. Either that, or Kenny has dementia. Downing for 20 million? Pure insanity. Carroll for 35 million? Think I will stop there.

Don't stop, don't stop. Henderson for 20m and fat Adam for anything over two bob is further examples of insanity. You are the best, most thoughtful and intelligent Liverpool poster I have seen. And I thought you were all dopey, but I was very wrong!

Sir Alex x

Mate we all know we overspent a bit on these two players , but kk has net -spend around just 30million since taking charge building a new squad, we have been a bit unlucky in a couple of games , so dont be too critical , i am sure we will add a bit more flair to the team over time , and we have a few very good young players near ready in a season or so to come into the team , rome was not build in a day , keep the faith in kk...........lfc

We have conceded a goal a game we have played crap he spent 100 million and we still have crap players SACK HIM before he buys carlton cole for 40 million.

Overspent a bit on two players

We overspent on all the purchases during Kenny's reign

Sack him, are you being serious? Were playing some great football but just cant stick the ball away. This time last year we were in/just above the drop zone. God how can you be serious? If we had simply taken chances against sunderland at home, united at home, and norwich at home we would be second now. 3 points behind city. Some people dont know anything about football, show the man some respect for god sakes! Sorry for the rant but man this really irks me.

KiwiRed

I think you'll find that spam paid 30mil for a certain striker that can't even make the bench. And as for Anderson Carrick etc etc, don't make me laugh about waisting money.

We have not been playing crap, we've been dominanting games, playing well, just some lapses in defence to iron out and need to be more clinical in front of goal. On any other day these 1-1 could be 4-1 in our favour. I'd be concerned if we were playing badly but we're not. Not bad for a team with so many new players and shorn of Gerrard for so long.

ed what do you think of negredo, and what sort of price will we be looking at? thankyou . hibsylfc {Ed001's Note - he seems a bit cumbersome to me, just another big lump, doesn't really score enough for me either.}

Negative comments from a frustrated fan:

Carra has only two passes he can make: back to Reina or long to the opponents defender/or goalkeeper. I know he is ageing, but surely a professional footballer can complete ONE PASS!!!

Kuyt: God love him for running around like a dog all day, but in reality he is running super slow, and when he has possession he is less dangerous than when he's chasing the ball.

Suarez: People slating him for missed opportunities. I find this ironic since without him we'd have NO OPPORTUNITIES. Suarez is Liverpool. Wait til we start a game without him and see what happens.

Gerrard: I really hope he is just lacking match fitness. He is slower than Kuyt right now.

Adam: Nice passing. Absolutely clueless on defence, and his lack of tackling ability is so painfully obvious.

Johnson: Give up on this lad. We have a superior option.

Carroll: Don't know what to make of him. He seems to have slipped down the pecking order and Kenny has no idea how to use him. Can't say he 'failed'. Don't think he is being used correctly.

Kenny: It will be a sad day when he is booed like Roy Hodgson, but mark my words, that day is coming.

Downing: This lad is getting worse by the week. How is that possible?

Frustrated Red (20 years running)

I feel your frustration, but in a good way :)

When last year man city bought dzeko for 32million and he was literally crap all season, nobody said anything and look at him now he is always scoring he needed time to gel in and adapt, and this guy is older than Carroll and known prolific goal scorer . I am saying you are all being impatient, the performance against Norwich was good finish was poor it will all come. Kk has enough experience to do well without all of us amateurs giving him stick. No successful manager would have wanted to take on pool last year with the mountain of problems they had, but Kk took the job and has done well. The prem has become very very competitive not like 20 years ago. Good days will come,patience. The game has changed over the years money is a big factor and player greed makes it hard for us to get players because they will go for money over history anyway, therefore we miss out on the katas of this modern game. Hibsylfc

So we paid 35M for Carrol to mould him into something better

Carroll came form english football dzeko did not, you sound like ed001

Dear god my head hurts from reading this drivel

Id take dzeko over carrol anyday! so would 90% of our fans the other 10% need help1

Carroll is young and will get better. There is no question that we could have got better quality in the short term for the fee we spent on Carroll. Off the top of my head, we could probably have signed Aguero, Gomez, Falcao, Soldado, Adebayor or countless others had we kept the money until the summer. Personally I do think Carroll was a bit of a panic buy. But the belief is and always has been that he is an unfinished article and will develop here. There's no reason he can't mature into a great player. We've just got to manage him well and not knock his confidence too much while he's playing poorly, and he has to do the rest himself. It's a struggle to keep the faith in him but I'm certainly going to try

Red Ollie

We'd still have chances without Suarez. We'd just play a different style. With Suarez on the pitch, we naturally defer to him to take control creatively. But without him, Adam would take on a far more involved role with more long passes from deep. Downing and Bellamy would do the running, and Gerrard would take on a larger creative influence higher up the pitch. It could be very interesting to see us start without Suarez - I'd love to see Adam and Gerrard given more freedom in particular

Red Ollie

I'd love to see suarez being sold for 40M and lets gets a striker who knows how to find the net, this diving around is not good for the reputation of the club nor is it good for Kenny when he keeps defending the indefenceable

It shows how much Liverpool has fallen if our "hero" is suarez

This Zeal some people on here have for developing players is unreal

You can only coach or train so much

You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear unless you are a magician

Kenny cannot turn Carroll into a world beating Striker

Kenny just like every other manager coach has his limitations as SAF also found out yesterday

UTD ha ve a great buch of young athletes with reasonable skill however apart from rooney they have limited talent.

If only Kenny could take an average player and turn him into Messi but he Can't no one can!

A'rry doesn't even attempt such foolery

If I am sounding like ed001 it means I know something about football which is good, dzeko my friend his wage bill is four times that of carroll's, and he is an established striker, carroll not long ago was not even playing in the championship so wisen up and patience or you are in the wrong sport.
It is like when you were in school and you were struggling in a subject, when you got help you did not wake up one day and find yourself a genius it took time. Everybody is working hard to get results so just show your support and take bad results like grown ups. Hibsylfc {Ed002's Note - What if you are sounding like Ed002 rather than Ed001?}

If he was sounding like Ed002 I would take him seriously but ed001 erm not really {Ed002's Note - Post of the day.}

You misunderstand ed001 comparison with Dzeko and Carroll he says citeh have to change the way dzeko plays and liverpool have to do something similar with Carroll

My point is dzeko is a good player while I don't believe carroll is and I am not covinced as are many others that carroll can change and become good for Liverpool, Carroll is suited to being the main man with players like nolan and barton around with their aggression to match his and support his type of play

I hope Carroll proves me wrong I will be the first to hold may hand up

When I was at school, university etc. I never had a problem keeping up or adapting so I don't get your metaphor

Good players adapt more easily than average ones who may not adapt at all

My metaphor was simply to point out not that you personally or literally struggled in school, or uni but that improvement takes time and does not come overnight. If I sound like ed002 that is also very knowledgeable of me then, I am honoured. hibsylfc

Whilst I agree Pedro would be great I just think that we have no chance of signing him, he wouldn't want to leave, Pep likes him and even if he became available all top clubs would be intrested. That's why I went for people who if we wanted we could get and all people that we have had an intrest in.
I hope that we do sign De Jong in jan as he would add a lot to are squad and wouldn't cost to much and has an eye for goal. I think kuyt has ran his race for us and has been a great servent but needs to be moved on IMO as he stops a lot of our moves and is getting on a bit.

For me, Kuyt plays better against better teams. When we don't have as much of the ball and we need to stop them playing. His workrate is more valuable then, than when trying to break down the lesser, more defensive teams.

There's a lot of things annoying me about the team right now, but one is really bugging me:

Why did we spend 9 million quid on Adam and then let Downing and Bellamy take the corners?? Adam's an AMAZING dead ball player - give all the corners to him! It's not bleeding rocket science

Red Ollie

Red Ollie

I think you and I are going to get along. Can you explain the lots of things that annoy you about your rubbish team right now, I love discussing this stuff!

Sir Alex x

Hi Sir Alex x,

Well mainly it's the fact that we just c6n't bea1 our l6cal r1vals. It's really annoying me!

Hi Ed's i've seen you mention Luuk de jong abit. I've looked at a few videos of some goals from him on youtube. He looks like a slightly smaller version of Andy Carroll with better ball control. Is that what he plays like? Or is he more of a poacher like Gomez? Thanks {Ed001's Note - he seems to be able to play both roles and as a winger from what I have seen.}

Better ball control than Carroll? I didn't think that was possible!

24 Oct 2011 00:12:37
Caroll does not get the right kind of service. We build too slowly and give defenses time to get organised.

I hope you have to realise that, in the words of Ed001, "be a cog in the wheel rather than the fulcrum of the entire team". We are not going to change our playing style to suit Carroll, he is changing his playing style to suit us. I admit that I'm growing impatient with him, and frustrated that he missed a header from 4 yards? But he needs time to adapt to our style, which is why he isn't playing well at the moment.

Keith YNWA

I agree with you mate, I have noticed that usually when downing or any player that has possession wide, they either try and cut back inside or they play a pass infield. This is not helping Carroll at all, and yes it gives teams a chance to regroup. If we are to play to andy's strengths, then downing and Glenn Johnson should play on the wings, their aim should be to go out wide and put a quality ball into the box. Then Carroll will be scoring goals for fun. They could switch wings and cut inside occasionally to keep the opposition on their toes.

LFC 2929

We do need the right Carroll service, with everyone singing from the same hymn sheet.

was just watching motd, would anyone agree the fomica(spell) chap who scored for blackburn is a ringer for KAKA? SCAFACE

Lol i thought the same

I think we still need to sign 4 top quality players before we can challenge for the league. A top quality finisher in the Fowler mold, a creative midfielder like Silva, a winger with pace and trickery and a quick centre back.
My picks are De Jong
Kagawa
Munain
Mussachio

However I think there may be a few players in the acadamy that could do this in Morgan, Suso or Adojan, Silva or Sterling and Wisdom but these will still need a few tears before they're regulars.
I know its unlikely that we will get these players or have the money to this summer but that's my perfect picks.
Anyone else got an opinion? Open to the eds aswell.
JFT96
Andy LFC

I think that De Jong, Kagawa, and Munain wouldn't help us for sometime just like the academy players probably won't. Musacchio would be a good pick up. Although, I would like to see Agger and Kelly as the starting CBs with Coates as the backup.

I think we should try for Pedro from Barcelona. He could link up great with Suarez, provide good crosses for Carroll, and can finish as well; which we are lacking. Probably would cost 20mil+ but he has great vision, is proven at a high level, and is a true right sided player where De Jong usually plays more centrally. If we sold Kuyt to Inter we could probably fund half of Pedro's fee.

I have 3 dream signings:

Soldado
Muniain
Albiol

But we'll probably go for

Walcott
Jarvis
Cahill

I think we should try to get a player in on loan in the jan window, like pedro who is not getting first team action because I don't think barca would sell him also would like us to bag that andy polo who looks more ready than any of our youngsters. and in the summer i'd like us to buy afellay and luuk de jong and also as you said mateo musacchio. that would make the team.

(LW/RW/AM) maxi out - afellay in ? 25y
(ST/RW) kuyt - de jong 12-14m 21y
(CB/RB) carra - musacchio 8-12m 21y
(ST/W) bellamy - andy polo 1-2m 17y
(CM) sissoko feature gerrard replacement? 10-15m 22y

a replacement for either cole or aquilani might be nice aswel in the summer - (AM/RW)Renato Augusto would cost around 12-14m 23y

pepe, doni, hansen, peter.g
kelly, flanagan (johnson gone)
coates, mateo, skrtel, agger, wilson
enrique, robinson
lucas, sissoko, adam, henderson, spearing
renato augusto
afellay, downing
suarez, carroll, de jong, polo

good looking, young team that would allow academy players like, coady, sterling, suso, silva, wisdom, adorjan to make the odd appearance.

Right lets sign more average english crap
