Can not believe some people are saying we should swap Kenny for AVB. What has AVB done? He got sacked because of poor results! If anything he is worse than Kenny! He had funds, he had the team and he failed. Why are people saying give him a chance unlike Chelsea when we aren't giving Kenny a fair chance?

BthekingB

How can you say AVB was sacked for poor results when he had money to spend when we are lower in the league than they were and Kenny spent more? Double standards!

Ash

AVB took over Chelsea as a top 3 team, had money to spend & left them in a lower position than he started. Kenny took over Liverpool in 12th spot, had money to spend , has won a trophy & possibly another. A bit of a difference Ash!

The Irish Rover

AVB got fired because he is a greedy, arrogant to*ser, who at 34 years wanted to treat seasoned professionals of 32 and 33 years as children, his credibility was affected. He was stupid, should have stayed at Porto, but his ego got the better of him.

We are actually playing some decent football (pass move / keep possession etc) but one small tactical change - commit more players into the box - will result in more goals
We need to pick a system and then stick to from 1st down to the kids
KK must stop this nonsense of consistently playing Henderson (especially out of position) that kid will not recover from such a poor season - Shelvey did more in 20 min than Henderson has done all season
Reina is out of form he has let in more goals than saves made. Most games he has nothing to do apart pick out the ball from the net. Put him on the bench to until he regains form
Sterling showed watch a bit of pace, trickery and skill can bring to a game
If we are going to play pass and move / keep possession then there is no place for the likes of kuyt and Adam in the midfield ( thank god we no longer play the containment/counterattack philosophy that rafa had installed into the club)

Leam Red

Ps
Stick with Kenny but just make these small changes !!!

You really think putting reina on the bench will help him regain form?

Dalglish is not entirely at fault... I honestly believe its Keen and Clarke. The team set up is based on defence and you can see its not working with us leaking 5 goals in 2 games. KK is at fault cause he picks the team that goes out but the rest is on the players. We cant do anything now to make the situation better as we are stuck with the rubbish we have bought but what KK can do is throw some youngsters into the mix now and give them the chance. Shelvey for me has more than Hendo. He seems to be able to use the ball better and wants to attack. Sterling is still not ready for the premiership but showed glimpses of what he can do. Cameo appearances should be his new role and possibly one full game just to see what he is made of. Players like Coady Suso should be getting game time as well. Not all game but lets give them the confindence of first team football. We cant get any worse than what we are doing so why not give them 10 or 15 minutes here or there. I think Carrol and Suarez should start together every game now unless he plans to put Stevie G up front with Suarez.
Thats my opinion... but I think Clarke and Keen has to go

Speeds

Yeah sack Clarke and Keen and you'll suddenlt start winning games - get real! your just a mediocre, mid-table side that's all

Gav

Who sacked Sammy Lee and brought in Keen? Kenny! he sacked a man who was steeped in the Liverpool way for over 30 year's not only as a player but as a coach! then bring's in a championship coach Kevin who? the negative's are starting to out weigh the positive's! {Ed001's Note - Sammy Lee was an awful coach, he had to go.}

Really unlucky today guys. You were up against a seriously good side today in Wigan. All the money they spent in the summer and Caldwell is a world class player. The £120m you spent in the summer just isn't enough to beat teams as good as Wigan these day. I'm totally neutral and I must say its a shame to see whats happened at Anfield over the last 20 years. Must be a shame knowing what Liverpool FC is today given those couple of half decent years you had in the 70s ? Don't worry though guys, im sure youl be shown early on MOTD sometime soon having won a game. Still, every cloud... With exciting young talents like flanaghan and spearing (the next Steven Gerrard?) you guys must be optimistic of being able to fight for a mid table position next year?

Good post...this pretty much sums up Liverpool's current situation despite the high ratio of dellusional fans there are at Anfield

Gav

Liverpool fans dont seem so cocky now do they? Usually you will have posts saying that the peno was wrong and if you watch the replay the player dived. Also the second Liverpool goal was fine, if you look carefully several times the defender fell and suarez used his head to score.... lol no chance....
Lets face facts, and I have been syaing this for a while now Suarez will leave - PSG now a bigger club with more spending power and Kenny will be sacked or moved upstairs as director of foolball

We may of lost, but how did Raheem Sterling play when he came on?

Alex

Did well and lifted spirits

He was brilliant.

Disappointed no Hansen r Lawrenson on MOTD 2nite - I luv watchin them when u lot r beat (common occurrence these days) but I see Hansen was there to see it up close and personal lol

Luis Suarez really does disgust me!

CT13

Why, because he doesn't play for your team?

Jealousy's a bitch eh son?

MR EM

What has he done now?

24 Mar 2012 23:00:34
We have played brilliant all year week in week out (sometimes maybe not a full 90 but still we have owned every team we've played) what were we missing? Goals we have the highest number of corners, highest number of shots, our completed passes are high and also tackles, only City have a better goals against tally.
We have had a serious luck problem
If Suarez hadn't been banned I don't think we'd be up the with city and the scum but we'd be a good few points better off than spurs and arsenal
We have 1 cup, probably another, and have the Europa next year (not ideally what we wanted, but like I say UNLUCKY!)
Now let's give the youngsters a good run of games and players we want to advertise to sell in the summer and have another go next season

De-lu-sion-al !

Gav

We have played brilliant week in week out all season? did you not see the Spur's away game? Bolton Away? Sunderland Away? Now Wigan at home? Did you just blank those game's out of your memory? your also saying that if Luis had'nt of been banned then we'd be better off than Spur's? Luis been playing since the beginning of Febuary how many league game's have we won since he's been back?

I dont know if its just me but i think its pretty disrespectful to KING Kenny that people are already talking about his replacement?

Maybe it's because he's done such a sh!t job?

Hi All,

Another bad day for us but it was coming and most of it down to players not sticking to plan and manager not making sure they do what they told..Downing is biggest culprit as he is winger and he was playing in midfield and only time he looked good when he bothered to go to wing and tried to cross, im not sure about what kuyt does. he is not winger or finisher or creative midlfieder so what is he someone who can run and look busy all the time.. Henderson looked scared and didnt turn up and i dont think spearing is as good as we think he is and Jamie well well, he needs to hang his boots as when he plays skrtel has to play on left side and when agger its is very evident skrtel prefer and plays better when on right.. Streling did more then i thought he would have and created 2 chances in 5 times he touched ball and that lad needs to be played more and more along with shelvey who i think is litte more fearless then henderson and can be suited to wing/tuck in midfielder role and his one corss to caroll was evidence of that, but more he plays more he learns and if kenny and liverpool board already think season is almost over streling and coady and suso should be given cameo roles where stick to policy of 1 of them 3 should be on pitch all the time and then decide on end of season where they are.. Andy Caroll we like him or not is LFC player and when big andy started for us in league we have only lost 4 times, spurs, city bolton and fulham i think. nd all away games.he needs to be played from start as he is not instant impact player but kuyt is so caroll should start and kuyt as reseve..caroll should be given target for remaining 8 matches and lets just see then.. kenny needs to take blame for poor perfomences and replace player who are not performing. Sacking a manger is not easy and before just 8 games left in season and no imapct will be made to our season regardless of who manager is,, we are in euorpa and leauge position if we are noth bother then take little risk and give youngsters some exposure..i would love to see Glen Johnson played on right wing for 3-4 matches and streling on left and Caroll up front with suarez in free role...

Is Pepe wearing lead boots, his feet seem rooted to the floor recently.

Derek

I think Pepe want's out!

Was wondering how many times that goals have been scored right through Pepe's legs. His reaction seems to have slowed this year.

please get rid of PEPE REINA. Absolutely useless

24 Mar 2012 22:42:47
right , the truth is after the gunners result , most of the side are playing within themselfs , the intenisty over 90 mins is not there , so the remaining 8 prem matches is the right time to bed in sterling , suso etc , there is no differennce us finishing 9th or 5th in real terms , we can get 3 or 4 of our young players ready for the first team squad , for next season , if we add 2 or 3 good signing , we all know the forward line needs it , then our squad for next season could do really well , we might even get a break in front of goal with a few going in off the bar , posts etc. give it all in the fa cup , and who knows , if we learn from our mistakes from this season , we could make a title tilt , because even with this crazy season , we could win 2 trophies , which most of the other teams would love to have , so keep calm , cause we and kk carry on................lfc

Lfc

Given your current form you will struggle to finish 9th, bottom half of the table is looming!

Also, by 'get a break in front of goal' do you men stop being sh!t? LOL

Admit it, you're beginning to realise that your team is poor, your manager is clueless and the foundations he has put in place for your future have been an utter failure!

I honestly wouldnt be surprised to see the mighty Liverpool relegated within 3 seasons....

I wish you all 'luck' though ; )

Gav

Thanks for that gav , theres nothing like looking at the problem with a thoughtful outlook mate , and your right gav , we just need a little bit of luck, the thing is gav , football can turn around quickly , its not wrong to make a few mistakes , its only wrong if you dont learn from them , and put them right............lfc

Have you been on some positive-thinking seminars or something lfc?

if not, you will need to (considering lfc's future)

Gav

Lfc i read your post and your comments seemed fair enough, until you went all delusional on me and mentioned going for the title next year and i thought, naa!.a champions league spot next year would be a more realistic aim.anyway keep taking the pills mate, and bring me back some barbequed goat from outer mongolia.lol
trev the gooner

Are you still hanging around trevTheSpanner

Will they not let you on the arsenal page mate I seen some Arsenal posters who thought you were Arsinine even for them

Hi Edd's & Lfc fans

I'm 23 years old I've supported lfc for 20 years, all my life i've heard work in progress associated with our club. Surly you can't be work in progress for 20+ years. Now what pisses me off is just because I say I Want Kenny Out it doesn't make me or anyone else a less of a fan, Don't get me wrong I love kenny but he just doesn't have what it takes to take us to the next step.
The sadest thing is I really can't see us getting more than 50 points this season, if that's not a step back from last season then I don't what is. I've read coments over the last 7/8 months excuses such as players need time, how much time do they need? They all speak English (apart from Suarez maybe). Our biggest problem is our buys for the last 3 season have been really poor, to be fair Rafa didnt have a lot off money, thank god Woy didn't get to spent too much because we would've ended up with Carol Konchesky as our No 9 :). Let's not kid our selfs kenny's spending has been a total joke.
We need a new manager Kenny should move up stairs.

TheBA300

It just makes you wrong , that's all .

24 Mar 2012 22:29:35
Before spending millions on possible remedies why not use some excellent solutions already at the club, Sterling, Suso, Adam Morgan and Conor Coady to name some!?
KTfaith

And what do we do if they don't have what it takes? Spend another season out of the top 6?

Im afraid that looks inevitble anyway...

Check out some of shelvey's tweets after the match guys.
It seems to me like he actually cares about the result which is a good sign.
He deserves more game time IMO
Bean

Just checking ... we are not basing team selection on tweets now are we ?

Qwerty

Did I say that erm no I didn't I was saying that by his reaction on twitter to the performance of the team it shows he may care about the shambles
No I also didn't say he should play because of that, he has a genuine talent and deserves more of a chance in the 1st steam now that Adam is out and the league is effectively over
Bean

Yeah he must be class then, lol

I was not asking if 'you said it' , I was just checking that the selection policy has not changed ...... errrrmmmm Ok .

Qwerty

Shambles ? I do not know what LFC you support .

Qwerty

What has the section policy got to do with what I originally said?? Shelvey should get more game time as he has potential and is better than Adam and Henderson
And yes shambles losing to qpr and Wigan or is that a good result in your eyes?
Bean

There is a football club to support , not nit picking at each setback .

I made the point about selection policy clearly , but enough said I suppose .

I don't believe some fans on here who believe 4th place is better than a possibility of 2 trophies. What message would that send out to a Deschamp,We haven't won a trophy in 6 seasons Kenny might end up with 2 and he's not wanted.Let's put this into prospective for you,if Lucas, Agger and Johnson where in the team,we would not be conceding goals.Spearing Carra and Flanno might be local, but One's past it,one's not ready yet and Spearing is average at best.I know the Carra brigade won't accept that, which won't surprise me.Our squad still isn't up to scratch yet.Carra should be shown the door he's too negative.

4th is FAR better than the Carling Cup. No top flight team wanted it, really, and we then won it by the skin of our teeth against a team in the second tier of football. Who've we beaten in the FA cup? United. League form is all that matters if we're to get back to what we do best.

Liverpool results in last 7 games Andy Carroll's started: WWDWWWW
Last 9 with him out/on bench: DDDLLLLLL

Stone YNWA.

Carroll's an easy target for criticism. Personally i think he'll come good but he won't when we don't have anybody in the team who can cross a ball. He looks frustrated all the time and i can't blame him. No supply, no goals.

How on earth do you class that as criticism?

24 Mar 2012 22:18:41
Any other manager with this run of results and all fans be screamin for his head to roll ,only thing savin KK is his status as a hero ,personally would give him more time feels he needs at least 2 full seasons to get his game plan and players up to speed .My biggest point of concern is us globe trothin all over back end of europe and middle east for europa league games and then playin catch up to rest of league cause were goin to be out on sun and mon nite after rest of league has played on sat .We have big squad so hope we sign 1 truly great player in summer and not 3/4/5 players who are mediocre .RED2TOE

24 Mar 2012 22:12:29
Catch 22 situation, no CL football = no star names. We obtain average players & therefore we are now are in the position we are in.

Honestly from the starting XI today which players are going to move us up to the required level the fans demand - Skrtel, Enrique, Gerrard [who wont be around forever], Suarez & Reina maybe [judging by past performances he's not a certainty]. Ok agreed we are missing Agger & Lucas who can be mentioned with the others but who else? The rest squad players at best. Thats 6-7 who can be considered good enough so at least 4-5 quality players are missing if we are going to compete for CL qualification each year.

So whats the answer if we are stuck in the catch 22 situation? Sign 1 quality player per transfer window & hopefully 2-3 years down the line we are reaching our goal or maintain this policy of signing average players which may win us the odd cup or two but not able to compete for CL qualification or PL?

Would like to see Carroll being given a run of 6-8 games on the bounce to prove his worth rather than the 2 he seems to get & then he's back to the bench, this cannot help his confidence. This is probably the only criticism I have of KD because whoever was manager would struggle to obtain CL qualification with the current squad of players due to too many average players.

24 Mar 2012 22:01:52
boys, i come inpeace. Kenny is not the answer. He is a legend for you,but he should have left it like that.same as Keegan with us. Kenny ruined a good side with us. He will do the same with you. Henderson is pants. Carroll needs the ball quickly, not slow slow pass. we are not playing well but are getting results. you lot...?

24 Mar 2012 21:59:19
Eds does playing sterling today mean that those news reports saying he wants first team football are true? {Ed001's Note - no, it means the club had accepted the top four was out of reach completely and we have already qualified for the Europa League, so our league season is basically over.}

24 Mar 2012 21:48:14
Was it not the directive of the owners (FSG), that LFC needed to bring in more British players, to comply with pending UEFA regulations about the number of 'home based' players that teams would need to play in Europe.
So based on the 'advice' of reputable scouts, LFC acquired 4 British players (Downing, Carroll, Henderson, Adam), these were 'vetted and approved' for purchase by LFC Management and Owners, and purchased.
One I might add, was a last minute replacement (AC) for "Judas Torres".
All players were bought for the future, and for hopeful European qualification.
So these players have proved to be 'flops and disasters', but at the time they were regarded by many (press, media, clubs, scouts) as some of the best talent available (and available, and willing to join LFC).
So fast forward 14/15 months, and many people/fans are blaming the manager for the 'failings' of these signings, when in all truths the collective of LFC (management team, owners, scouts etc) should all share in the blame being directed at KK.

Let's be fair folks.
The players bought, are not as good as was originally thought, so why blame one, when all should share in this 'blame'.

KK is a hero, a true servant of the club, a man of great integrity and virtue, he was just given a 'bad batch of players' to choose from.

I believe in KK, and will support him no matter what, as he is doing what is best for the club.

LFC for life, and King Kenny is the best man and manager for the club, and he has my 'TOTAL' support!!!m
Red Apple.

Has been springs to mind.ruined us will do the same to you.Toon for life.

I agree with most of your post and Kenny is the right man for LFC, but most of these british talents are international players at some stage or another, i think some hame under performed, i think next year will be totaly better wit Kenny in charge!
JayB

Carroll, we got muffed in the winkle over carroll. Players like Carroll normally cost £10million pounds. He wasn't proven, he had half a season in prem and a rep for drinking Jagermeifter. I would of paid £18 for Defoe or Bent because they are goal scorers, A target man like Crouch £10million. If you found me someone with stupid amounts of speed like a Owen I might pay the £30million. If you got someone special a top 10 striker like rooney I would pay £40

Carroll doesnt have a footballing brain, he is never in the right postions. He is strong, i havn't seen him a header a ball well since he moved to anfield, but at newcastle he could do that. His type of player matures at the age of 28. so why would u buy him at 21 when he isn't up to the challenge. He will need 3 seasons before he gets into half the player we paid for. So signing him over a world class player like Sergio Aguero was a major mistake

Rafa would of killed himself to sign Sergio, he is the type of player rafa would settle for as a replacement for Torres who is a top 10 player.

Downing, has done everything that has been printed on the tin, he can be a match winner, but needs to improve delivery into the box, which could happen.

Henderson, I would of bought Cattlemole a harder tackler and someone with character. Henderson sounded great at sunderland, the youth player of the season. Fans player of the season.

Adam. Adams is Scotish and cost £8m,. That is about right for his type of player. he is a player with ability, but lacks defensive awareness. Its a trade between good balls forward and tackling.

We where shown a world class player in Xabi Alonso. we never replaced his quality. Xabi is a 10

Bo Derek was a 10

24 Mar 2012 21:41:44
I said all along when we had the nuggets push rafa out the door to be careful what u wish for u didn't realise what we had til it went

2nd that. Im to young to remeber the last time we won the league. But i would rather have Raffa in charge than kenny. Just from what i have seen in my life time that is.

24 Mar 2012 21:33:04
Kenny 4/1 to be the next manager sacked.

Think is a foregone that Kenny will be gone buy the summer. Was goofto steady the ship, but should never have been given the role full time. He would be best suited upstairs now adays
What are peoples thoughts on who should take over.

Next Permanent Liverpool Manager
Martin O'Neill 2/1
Andre Villas-Boas 4/1
Jose Mourinho 5/1

Quite shocked that Mourinho would have such low odds, given the state that we are in a the mo.

We all know its a rebuilding job for us. For me i would rather have a young dynamic, tactical aware manger to take on this role.
Any thoughts

Would love to see Andre Villas-Boas in charge. We all know that we have a massive rebuilding job ahead of us. I think that he should be the man to do it, young, dynamic and tactically aware. Never given the chance at Chelsea, and with the right backing and some funds could makes us a top team again.

I think it time to forgot about the past, and look forward. We cant keep living in the past, we where the best team in england. We have to make things happen again.

Personaly i hope Kenny is LFC's manager for the length of his contract at least. this year and most of the signing's havent been great, and i think he's realised that buying british wasnt the best choice. We have 8 games in the league left, lets see what happens. Plus side its nice to see the likes of Sterling get a run out, and theres a few others who deserve the same opportunity, shud be a good summer of ins and outs, lets get it right and get behind the King!

How many people would take mourinho at this present moment. King kenny has done a fantastic job, but i think its time to move aside. Hate to say this but mourinho would be the only manager that can win liverpool the title.

He has won a title with every team he has coached, so I don't see why it would be different with us.

How dare any of you on this page criticise King Kenny and the Brilliant job he is doing. When Sir Alex knocked you off your perch, i didn't realise that you would just keep falling and falling. Now we have agent Dalglish in and he is doing a brilliant job. He has wasted a £100 million and you lose more games than you win and you are still scared to say that he is sh*ep. Brilliant as he will keep you down as the mid table mediocre team you are. In Kenny we trust . I AM KLOOT

Can you imagine if we had signed say Moussa Sissoko, Keisuke Honda and say Soldado instead of Carroll, Adam and Downing. I said a long time ago that Kenny's signings would be the undoing of him a very long time ago and sadly, its happening.

I reckon we should give him until the end of the season and let the man (hopefully) go out on a high with the F.A. Cup. He deserves that. After that though, he has to go and how the new manager deals with the British players signed for massive fees should be interesting.

Ash

Thats like saying we couldve scored, rather than hitting the woodwork

So who would you get in to replace him?

Ash my mate, its boring, we have heard it before.

No, it's not like hitting the woodwork at all. Who would I have to replace him? Rafa, for one. I'm not in a position to l know who's available. Bielsa (sp) from Athletic would be a fantastic choice.

Ash

It's absolute nonsense suggesting other playersmight be better. Picking players doesn't come with a written guarantee. Why weren't other clubs knocking down the door for Honda?

Ed 01 what did you make of the brief appearance of raheem sterling? And can we expect more 1st team action from his part? {Ed001's Note - there were always going to be more, but he is not going to suddenly become a regular starter over night. He did play fairly well, needed more time and to see more of the ball to really get going though. He certainly did enough to terrify Wigan's defence, who just couldn't handle him in the slightest.}

Exciting, the only thing that is keeping me going tonight was his electricity on the pitch

As u all know I never thought kenny was the answer , I'd have rafa back with proper owners !! But to slag him off in such a vile way is so wrong , do I think he's a great manager no ! The greatest ambassador this great club as ever had , yes ! Yes !! I think it's time for him to move upstairs !!

So you thought getting rid of Alonso and bringing in Barry was a good move did you?

If Benitez had the money Kenny has had he would not have had to sell one good player to buy another

Alonso had a stinker season when rafa wanted to let him go for barry, are people still that stupid

Alonso had a stinker season!?!?!? We finished 2nd mate! He was the player of the season in my eyes! He was the vocal point, the one that made us tick. Can't believe someone actually said that. Pffffffft.

BthekingB

Alonso stinker was 2007/08 season, not 2008/09 where he was magnificent for us. Alonso was great for us in 2004/05 and 2008/09 where we finished 2nd. The other seasons he was ok, not outstanding. Barry/Alonso saga was in summer 2008, and we ended up with robbie keane. Alonso was sold in summer 2009.

BthekingB That was the season after Alonso had his stinker of a season!

No. Alonso was magnificent in every season and got better and better every season.

BthekingB {Ed001's Note - did you actually watch us play then? He was poor for at least a season and a half after Lampard stamped on his ankle.}

Why does Kennt talk some much Sh*ite to the media.
How the hell can players be tried, we have not been in europe this year. God help us next year if this is the case in the Europa.
I think Kenny will be gone come the summer. But why does he have to be so stupid with the media. Roy was bad, but some of what kenny says is just stupid. It makes the club look daft, he could at least be professional about it.
YorksRed

He's out of touch, and has a chip on his shoulder. The game has moved on massively since he was last a manager.

24 Mar 2012 21:14:22
Today's result has certainly divided the camp. On one side you have the 'Kenny must be sacked' gang and on the other you have 'If you want Kenny sacked you should support United' gang.

Now undoubtedly both sides have valid arguments, as we can all see the team in under achieving for one reason or the other.

You have to look at these things objectively and not let your heart rule your head;

Should Kenny get the sack? In my opinion, taking out all notion of legendary club status etc, no he shouldn't. Why? Because, and let's be honest, who would be available/want to take over to take over?

We still have an F.A cup semi final to play, so the season is definitely not over. Obviously we are all disappointed with the league form but with the squad we have, could we really expect more? Which leads me to my next point; the signings we have made...

It is ridiculous to write off the likes of Carroll and Henderson so early in not only there LFC career but also just their careers as professionals. It is unfortunate that these two inparticular have not reached the heights hoped of them, but, does anyone remember Lucas? However there are certain players that have brought in and have been playing regular first team football for years who are consistently no performing, there is no excuse for the level of under-performance week in week out. Yes, certain players have shown flashes of what we know they are capable of but on the whole have been pretty dire.

Somebody should be held accountable for the poor business that was done over the summer. Now I'm not saying we bought bad as we certainly have a stronger squad than last season, but I'm not sure 'potential' is worth £35m, and this is not anti-Andy Carroll, I loved the guy when he was at the toon and was excited when we got him, however that hefty price tag will always bring with it bring high pressure/expectations and that is not necessarily what all players need to blossom.

In my opinion Kenny will step down at the end of the season no matter what. He knows the team is under performing and it will hurt him as much as it hurts us, which will lead me to conclude that, as much as it was the appointment by the fans, we need a manager less emotionally involved at the club. I know to some that will sound ridiculous, because of the 'Liverpool way' etc BUT, the most recent success we have had (and don't tell me the Carling Cup) was with a Spaniard with no emotional attachment to the club (at least when he started, then looked what happened!) I don't want Rafa to come back and I don't know who should replace Kenny, but these are my thoughts on the whole thing. Feel free to comment, I won't tell you too support City if our opinions differ! Cheers for reading the epic post!

Sensible post mate and a close reflection of my own opinions.

As a side note i'd be more than happy if we could convince Joachim Loew to manage us.

SMc

Hi dave i agree with you to a certin extent.
I think kenny will step down after the cup final and I think he should. I think he realises he bought very badly last year and at this level his absence from management for so long has left him tacticly inept.
Everyone must remember that the owners have no real passion for our clubs history and are tough business men , so I doubt they are going to give kenny another 100 million to spend.
I can see them employing a fairly young european manager with good man management skills to try and get the best out of our squad.
I hope we win the fa cup so kenny can go out on a high as i think he needs it as much as we do and maybe more.
long live the king

Well Dave I am a Utd fan and want Dogleash to stay if he chokes it
I want Rafa back

hi eds, this is just a thought, after the abject displays shown by the team over the season alot of people are calling for the removal of kk.
ok but my thoughts are no1 the owners would have to hold a board meeting in order to remove kk, so they would have to be here in order to do it. (i dont know whether they are here or not).
no2 kk can resign his post, but going off the post match talks kk has never put himself to blame. therefore he is unlikely to offer himself for removal.
so it is more likely that going off what has been said regarding objectives for the season, the owners are more likely to allow kk to finish the seasn and then make a decision. this would be seen as correct as it would also allow kk to make the decision for them thus allowing him to remain in the eyes of many as a legend, and not a failure.

8 points this year. 2 wins, 2 draws, 7 loses. 3rd from bottom in the form table below only just ahead of QPR and Wolves.

Not good reading!

To me cup wins are irrelevant when our league form read like that. Portsmouth once won the FA Cup and followed it by relegation.

I'm not gonna jump on KK's back like some. But my support for him will come down to how he responds in the summer.

1 or 2 cups don't equal success when u finish out of the top 6 (unless it is European cup!!)

Shanks once said 'We've never won the fairs cup because we've never finished low e'nough to Qualify!

Why do fans constantly hark on about shanks, paisley, et al? they were incredibly successful managers we know that, you older fans never let us forget! But those days were 25 years ago+.. I wish the club would move on and accept that those days have gone.

We need to focus on the future not the past

SMc

In the days between 12th and 14th March Liverpool were the best team in the Premiership - winning every match by at least three goals and conceding none - anyone can bring up statistics over a short period - it means nothing. Today the majority of the team had no interest - there were at least two occasions when Liverpool were in attacking positions that players allowed the ball to go out for a throw-in when it would have been easier to keep it in play and try to do something with it. I see also that a lot of fans are finally agreeing with me about Carragher. I think that it is a disgrace that he is back in the starting line-up.

Eds, these results have to stop they are happening to often and if they continue it will end up not being a surprise no more. I admire kk and I do things he will win the double but I feel his decision making and change gaming subs are rubbish and just not good enough! Liverpools answer to the goalscoring problems is soldado.... He's just got another for Valencia he would tear up the premier league and bring out the best in Suarez.

24 Mar 2012 21:14:57
Can everyone just ease off with the criticism of the manager. The players look disinterested and this s reflected in some performances.

We need stability at the top to be successful. IMO winning the Carling Cup and FA Cup will be a successful season. But these should not be allowed to mask a poor season for most of the new signings- I know this wont happen but I would get rid of

Adam- £8m
Henderson-£15m
Downing £12m
Carroll £20m

and replace them with

Javi Martinez -£30m
Soldado - £25m
Promote some of the youngsters to the flanks or buy two new wingers

- who would pay those prices for that toss ?
adam - maybe a team promoted from the championship would have him - £5m absolute tops
henderson - as above or maybe someone like blackburn or bolton - £10m tops
downing - again - he's for teams fighting relegation - £7m if you're lucky
carroll - who on earth would pay £20m for him? do you know what you could get on the continent for that? Arsenal are getting podolski for £11m, just to put that into perspective... he's unsellable unless newcastle sell ba and get carroll back - but you wont get any more than £10m

Managers fault full stop. He moans about tiredness but we have a pool of talented youngsters ready to play. Why dont he pick them. Its all excuses. Its the same he couldnt motivate anyone now. The aura of his return has gone. He just needs to get back down to basics and get rid of Keen and possibly Clarke as their defensive coaching has daaged us immensly

You lot don't get it.
Lose at home to Wigan.
Blind faith, rose coloured specs.
Like a real friend, you don't indulge them. You tell them when they have got things wrong. That is what a real friend is about.
Liverpool have got it wrong.

Am totally gutted today but in fairness i didnt expect a win,we got our arses handed to us and deservevd nothing less,we really need a torres type player as carroll is not up to standard and regardless of what the torres haters think we need him back, what about raffa advisor kenny front man and bring nano, would love to see him back

100% boss totally agree

24 Mar 2012 20:57:31
Not rumour but a fact. Liverpool will finish outside top 10. Watch how Everton, Sunderland and Swansea get past us. What a shambolic season for us. Not top class player will join us. Just forget it. And Suarez will leave in the summer 100%. Any of the Eds has any opinion otherwise?

Who cares?
It will still be Liverpool and it it will still be a blast following their trials and tribulations.
And if they end up in league one, I might be able to get a ticket to see a game - so that suits me.

Times like these fans need to rally around the players and the king, not criticise. Dalglish is the best thing that has ever happened to Liverpool fc and the way some fans are treating him is disgraceful. I bet the fans at Anfield Dalglish remembers are those who sing no matter how the team plays and never get on a players back. Wow how times change today fans seem more keen to criticise players then get behind the team. I hope beyond hope that Dalglish gets another year to prove all these fickle people on this page wrong.

Previous liverpool teams played for the jersey lad and never gave up,this lot stevie and a few others aside are "show me the money "stevie ,agger ,skirtel totally and a small few are an example the rest are knobs, they spoofed to kenny

The only thing I would disagree with in your post was the word 'fans' because some of the rabid and vile abuse of here does not come from Liverpool fans.

Hi Ed's

I know this is probably a stupid thing to say but there is a reporter from the papers always on the Sunday supplement who was at Chelsea when Mourinho was there and also kept close to him when he went to Inter and he has said time and time again that Mourinho's ego is one that the Liverpool job should it come up would be something he would snap up! The chance to make us title winners again!! I myself would go for one of three managers.

1) Brendon Rogers - Has a great Barca philosophy. pass and move. Shanks style in retaining the ball. young, vibrant and a winner!

2) Jurgen Klopp - His teams are set out to attack, go for the jugular and tear teams apart. He is also a great tactician when required!

3) AVB - Now you might say no chance, This guy would be awesome given the right amount of time and also money! He loves to blood youngsters and is tactically astute! A young Benitez/Mourhino that sets his teams out to attack! He never had a chance a Chelsea!

If and a big if! What would you go for Ed's if the choice was yours and your reasons why please and also anyone else's thoughts on this subject??

Love the site Ed's

Jon LFC {Ed001's Note - sorry I am really not interested in speculating on this subject.}

Chelsea fan here
About the first two manager they would be good options provided Kenny actually leaves which i dont think should happen.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading the comment on AVB. Did you see his last few months at chelsea? He didnt play any youth at all, where was lukaku, piazon, bertrand, hutchinson, josh mceachran for the first half of the season.
Jono cfc syd

I know you think KK is the right guy Ed! I think he is close in so many ways with the way we play and control games! It seems that we miss just someone or a few players to get the goals and we would be challanging but then in other ways I see him a bit behind in terms if tactics, Whats your thoughts on KK then Ed1?? {Ed001's Note - I don't know if Kenny is the right guy, but he certainly hasn't had a chance to prove it one way or the other yet. It takes time to build a long term project, time we haven't given him yet. My issue is the lack of confidence in the players, it wasn't like that last season, something is clearly going wrong and that is down to all the coaching staff.}

Maybe its the two liverpool lads running a muck backstage LOL

24 Mar 2012 20:52:29
There's a lot of people trying to decide which is better: Carling Cup + FA Cup Vs 4th Place.

To be honest, I couldn't care less about the Carling Cup, FA Cup or even The Champions League. I would like to see Liverpool win the league at some stage in my lifetime. We need to get a title, it's what clubs are judged on. Kenny knows that, the fans know that and the owners definitely know that.

The truth is that we're nowhere near this, and have gone backwards this season. Kenny needs to get the players he payed an awful amount of money for performing. Simple as.

-Shane.

Shane i hope your a young fellow

Young enough, got a few years in me, enough to hold on until we can do it again.

Grew up on the Evans era and saw the success in the Rafa years, while all the time being told by my uncles about the wonders of Kenny.

If I was to pick a coach to get us near the title again I don't know if would be Kenny. Rafa got us closest in the last few years. He had the tactics and an eye to spot cheap talent. He obviously had it in the past, but it's hard to call whether Kenny has this anymore...that being said, I am very much a Rafa man so it's easier for me to admit that as opposed to someone who grew idolising Kenny.

-Shane.

Kenny played in a team full of A list players.

Gerrard has played with substancially less.

In 20 years we'll hear of the gerrard heroics, pity we can't enjoy him now!

Could not watch or listen to any of the match today due to my baby's scan. Obviously a disapointing result but could anybody reply to this and let me know how the kid sterling got on please? So I don't have to trawl through all the usual kenny out crap.

Cheers

Put it this way MIKEY, he was more positive in the 8 minutes or so he played than Henderson has been the whole season ;)

AG

5min cameo, pace, balance & skill, looks ready to me, achieved more in 5 mins than that donkey kuyt did it 85!

Sterling did well in the few minutes he was on, he had a couple of useful runs, and for his age, he handled the occasion very well.

There you have it 3 games in a week is to blame for our shambles of a display today, I'm not listening to it anymore just so many excuses it's actually an insult to the intelligence of us fans. We can see quite clearly why we lost, not enough players on the pitch fit to wear a reds jersey.

If 3 games a week is the problem well what the hell would we do if we had champions league

24 Mar 2012 20:38:47
I have from a good source that Liverpool will sign Darren Ambrose, Richard Stearman and Hugo Rodallega before 1 of june. You heard it here fyrst

Please let this be true...add the firepower of Stephen Fletcher and the glory days are back

24 Mar 2012 20:38:24
Hmmmm it's a tough one without using every cliche like "it takes time" "the team needs to jell" but it's true, it is disappointing that we won't be in the CL next season (unless there is a miracle) but I hate the way people talk about kenny he has done so much for Liverpool it's amazing granted some things havnt worked but I really think we should trust him in the long run! Some people want instant success and it very rarely works like that, I'm 22 years old but I've watched all the old footage and he is a legend I think some people are just incredibly disrespectful and need to shut up and support through thick and thin.

Square tomato

You are absolutely wrong! Why shut up? We are made fun of in every part of the world. The players could as Well s**t on our jersey! Do we deserve it?

Well said Square mate!

AG

I think every1s sick of the excuses... We've gave kenny alot of time... He literally bort the worst players possible 2 our club I mean just tell me 1 team anywhere that have a manager that hasn't managed for 20 odd years ?? {Ed001's Note - a lot of time? Don't be stupid, he has not even had one full season yet, that is not a lot of time.}

Well said Square Tomato!

MR EM

Ok well if the majority want him gone along with the players why don't you go and do a protest outside anfield instead I whining?

Square tomato

I'm glad some people agree with me and if people really want him out then I'll be waiting for the spray paint "kenny out" on the walls outside the training ground like we did with Hodgson.

Square tomato

But Ed001 Look at our league season so far! and to get beat by each of the bottom three one of them at home plus all the home draw's is just not on! {Ed001's Note - at times like this in the season, you are more likely to be beaten by teams scrapping for their life than mid-table teams with nothing to play for.}

24 Mar 2012 20:36:03
It's everyone's fault, not just Kenny's.
Yes we've signed some duds, but everyone manager does. And if you sign as many players as we've done in such a short time, some are bound to fail.
Fergie built 2 sides before he won anything - and he spent big doing it (Webb, Phelan, Wallace, Milne, Leighton, etc). They looked unbalanced and clueless as they went - but blagged a cup that bought him time. All the while he was building up the youth, and eventually it clicked for him.
Sound familiar ?
We are trying to get back to the top, but it will not happen overnight - for fecks sake, Citeh have spent £300-£400mil, and may only have 1 FA cup in 3 seasons to show for it.
Yes, we should have won the last 2 games, but is that all KK's fault ?. Given the players available, most of us would have picked the team that started both games - and most of us would expected some kind character-showing response to Wed, not the lily-livered, pansified surrender we got.
The biggest fault in this season lies with the players - we are carrying too many big-time charlies. As a previous poster said, they'll turn up for the big games, but not for games like today. And that's the bit that really hurts..

We need to stop thinking about back then! This is NOW! It hasn't worked out and we should just change the manager in the summer

We have signed almost 100m pounds of duds

24 Mar 2012 20:33:05

Does any of Eds reckon KK will resign before the end of the season? {Ed002's Note - Only one Ed can answer at a time - but I really doubt that he will resign. Just need to ride out the rest of the season and then the management team can sit down with the board and make a rational decision on what is teh best thing to do to move the club forward.}

Liverpool 1-2 Wigan =should have won
QPR 3-2 Liverpool =should have won
Liverpool 3-0 Everton
Sunderland 1-0 Liverpool= should have drawn
Liverpool1-2Arsenal
Bolton 3-1 Liverpool = should have won

=Tottenham 55points
=liverpool 52 points. 5th position.

Seems to me, that the fans are to blame for the latest poor form. Footballers are creatures of habit. The fans shouldn't have started bad mouthing them this mouth.

Ive been doing the same comparisons all season bar, today, Spurs away, Man U away, Fulham away and Bolton. Still though, we are lacking something..so very confusing and frustrating...

Lee YNWA

Could of , should of, would of!!

Vs. Bolton - bad performance, no heart commitment or desire and deservedly beaten.

vs. Arsenal - played superbly and did everything but score.

vs. Sunderland - lazy, lethargic and 2nd best to everything. Had moments but certainly did nowhere near enough to win it.

vs. QPR - choked.

vs. Wigan - no heart, no desire, too many players being carried and not enough of them with any real guts or passion. The way we lost is whats dissapointing, not the loss itself.

SMc

You guys are forgetting that historically we should have won these games.

So what went wrong

Coulda woulda shoulda. "Should have won" is absolute crap. We scored fewer goals than the opposition so how does that warrant a win? We're worse than under Woy but because he's not KK, he was never given a chance

24 Mar 2012 20:24:12
Guys those of you who are still supporting Kenny take your blinkers off, I don't think you realise just how serious this situation is. The standard of football is shocking, If we had started the season like this then Kenny would already be gone. Never in my life have I seen drivel like this from any team, I strongly believe with this level of football we wouldn't survive in the championship never mind the premier league. Emotion can't rule how we all feel about Kenny, we're talking about LFC not some mickey mouse club, we have to do something sooner rather than later.

Rubbish!

To the guy who said rubbish. If you think what you saw today is ok then respectfuly you know nothing about football. My god I've seen better pub teams than that.

Instead of saying 'to the guy' , why don't you people leave a name and then you can be referred to ?

Qwerty

Qwerty? that's a strange name, is it Scottish?

I hope to god we don't turn into Chelsea, new manager every season because it just does not work. Give kenny the team and players more time and see what happens next season. Eds you always have educated and reasonable arguments what are your thoughts ? {Ed002's Note - Chelsea have been very successful changing managers when things are not going right. Manager is just another employee of the club. If you wake up one morning and find a rotting gangrenous finger on your hand, what do you do? Right, you cut it off.}

Ed.lmao, i like it

Reli Ed002 U think roman was right to fire ancellotti and mourinho? {Ed002's Note - Mourinho was not fired, and the decision that Ancelotti would leave was taken over the new year - and it was taken for footballing reasons.}

Agree with ed002, it was very succesful to get rid of the manager who just gave them a second spot {Ed002's Note - Try looking over a longer period and your comment will look very stupid.}

If you wake up one morning and find a rotting gangrenous finger on your hand, what do you do? Right, you cut it off.

not exactly

You keep putting astringent herbs into a gauze and apply it on to the finger in less than a month the finger will re-cover.

ooops

Freudian slip

Chelsea are in the FA cup semi's the CL quarter's 5th in the league with an outside chance of 4th! what chance have we got? And their having a bad season!

Do we think that's all were going to see of sterling and the likes for the the rest of the season or will they be on the bench all the time now?

Players should be in the team based on performance and he performed well, I think this one of the few things Kenny gets right

Agree, Robinson are a starter after great perfomances. Irony could be used

24 Mar 2012 20:14:49
Been saying it for a while, Gerrard only shows up when he wants, not a captain in my eyes.
He stifles some players, it's as though he thinks he owns the ball, having it played to him on every possibly occasion. Carra should not be playing, give Coates a good run, get him settled in for next season.

Yea yea yea! both are legends, but it's time to say goodbye.
Kenny should have a good look at himself as manager and take a bow, move upstairs, he would be a great ambassador for the club but not a good manager, as he is proving of late.

What Kenny has done is get a lot of good youngsters at the club who should (fingers crossed) get us back to fighting for thr title once more.

Big Bill

Good ambassador, gulp, are you sure about that?

I agree regarding Carra and GerrardBill but not Kenny.

Liverpool Football club have the funniest fans in the world. I remember the beginning of the season when Liverpool were 'guaranteed' a Champions League place and some actually saying that they have 'overtaken' Arsenal and Spurs but the reality is that Newcastle have a better squad at the moment. People like Downing, Carroll, Adam and Henderson wont get anywhere near that team. Swansea, Sunderland and Everton are a couple of points behind you and are closer to Wigan then Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal. The fact is Liverpool have definately not improved despite spending truckloads of money. Arsenal have sold two of the most creative midfielders in European football and are miles ahead of you. Tottenham havent spent anywhere near how much liverpool have spent and are also miles ahead of you.

What makes me laugh even more is that I hear Liverpool fans saying that we need to buy 'Soldado', 'Munain', 'Llorente' but why would they come if say people like Spurs or Arsenal, City or United want them then you have no chance'. You might say that Liverpool have won a trophy and fair enough you have but it is clearly covering the cracks at Liverpool. Teams like Leicester City and Birmingham City have won that competiton.

PS: I would rather finish 3rd/4th in the league than win the league cup.

Islington Gooner

30m isn't truckloads

Yes birmingham who beat you in the carling cup you tool go bak on the gooners page u person poster...redman matt

Your very fortunate run of form has certainly covered over the cracks at Arsenal as well. RVP will very soon be running in to the final year of his contract, to keep him you need to scrap your wage structure, in doing so will mean increasing the wages of other players.

If RVP has brains he'll realise that the only way he can win trophies and have a career worth remembering is to leave.

I think even the most hardened Gunner would admit that you're a mid table team without him.

You Gunners can't for a second slate any fans of any club. 2-0 down against Spurs and every Arsenal fan was giving Walcott absolute grief, calling for his head. 5-2 up and all of a sudden he's a hero, the best winger in England.

Boy I hope you're an Arsenal fan, if not I'll grab my coat,

Stone YNWA.

Islington Gooner, ye tried to win the c cup, you tried to win the CL your now settling for 3rd or 4th and youve done this for the last 7 yrs, wheres the improvement, anyone that does not win a competition is the runner up, or losers if you want...you werent talking so much a few weeks back, infact when yer losing ye vacate the stadium, gr8 supporter!

I have supported kenny all the time and i still give him my full support. I think it goes to show what a mess hicks and gillett and rafa and hodgson left us in and how long its going to take to turn around.

As i say whether some fans like it or not he is the only manager to win anything in the last 6 yrs. Its so hard to take over a club that was virtually on its knees and out of business and expect everything to turn around in just over 12 months.

Some fans need to get realistic and just because we lose one game its not the end of the world. We need to be patient and back kenny, one season is no where near enough. Like i mean some fans say try youth he does that and he still gets slagged off. sometimes the bloke cant win but we all know he can win trophies for this club.

So its up to kenny to try and sort things out and hopefully in the summer he will make things even better for next season. But i am 100 percent sure we have the right man in chaarge of our football club.

I think the americans will do right and stand by kenny and give him time. Its a case of getting the squad right for newcastle and building toward the semi final know.

Rome wasnt built in a day but an empire can be built over a number of years.

King kenny you are the best man for the job.

Mighty reds

Lets be honist, I f you cant turn ir round with 150 million pounds then you are clearly not the man for the job.

Or it just shows how much of a poor manager Kenny is?

But we havn't just lost 1 game have we,it's 10 out of 30, only 11 wins, absolutely pathetic, I'm not saying sack Dalglish but it hurts to be the laughing stock of England, we won it 5 times, 18 titles, the history is actually a burden because we give it large and look down our noses at 'smaller clubs' yet we r battling it out with Swansea, Everton and Sunderland for a top 10 finish, Shanks and Paisley will b turning in their graves to see what a shower of sh*t this once great institution has become, if something isn't changed it'll be another 22 years till we can even think about competing again, we r an average club, average ground with average players, the glass is not half full!!

He didn't have £150 mill, net spend zero come the end of the season. Just have a good think about the extent of the overhaul before posting nonsense. It's work in progress and will take a few seasons. Fergusons first 3 years, 2nd, 6th and 11th.

Do you still think King Kenny is the 1-2 lead you to glory?

24 Mar 2012 20:03:34
A team spending 100million on players should be guarenteed 4th and challenging for the title but Liverpool are 7th and next week you have got Newcastle away which will be another loss and your only 6 points ahead of 14th and could easily be 9th next week. I think Dalglish NEEDS to go for you to progress.

*30m can everyone please get this right

Not even £30 mill. Net spend nearly zero come the end of the season.

Ozone

30? He spent over 100 million check the facts

24 Mar 2012 20:03:19
mr henry will not tolerate dalgish any longer surely? -usa dont like spending money without getting results and it hurts to lose from 2up v barcelona let alone qpr-somethings just not right at anfield an many players need to go too or maybe we gotta accept we are a mid table team now we just cant compete financially-great to see sterling at last though

24 Mar 2012 19:56:24
I know Liverpool people are renowned for their generosity but why o why do we have to donate 3 points to the teams at the bottom of the league.

Very disappointing result today. Not seen or heared the match so I'm not in a position to make any comment BUT, as kidmillions has said earlier, we ARE a work in progress and this season was always a transitional one. You can't deny that progress has been made and hopefully, after a good summer of investment in players, the progress will increase exponentially.

Don't let this bad run of form detract you of this.

Gordy

As you and Kidmillion's say we're a work in progress! but where's the progress?

Support Kenny and the players and if you go the Match sing his name Daglish!! even Louder!! sing You'll never Walk alone!! at the top your voice!
Why? Because that's what we do! That's how we become World renowned as the Best Supporters bar none! We recognise when someone gives their Heart and Soul for the Club and back them through thick and thin. We laugh in the face of adversity and always have done! That's why were no ordinary Club that only sings when it's Winning.

24 Mar 2012 19:41:47
Firstly i think Kenny deserves more respect than what he is currently getting. The abuse is similar to what hodgson got and he doesnt deserve that.

I personally think the lack of a proven goalscorer has cost the team. We were just getting buy because the defence was solid but since agger was injured we are leaking goals as well. Lack of goals affects confidence and if there is one thing that the whole club has got wrong is the signing of Caroll. We should have learnt from the acquilani transfer that you should never buy a player who has a long term injury. If we had bought a proven goalscorer who consistently scored goals over a sustained period (e.g falcao, gomez, soldado) we would be seeing a

He had a proven goalscorer and then sold him, then had 150 million to spend and didn't buy one.

And Kenny signed Carroll...

So Hodgson deserved the abuse but dalgleish doesn't are you mental?

Pardoe

We've just been beaten at home to a side that has been at the foot of the table all season! so we should say Ah well there's always next week!

Ed just a quick question to all these KK haters. If we win the FA cup along with the carling cup will people be happy at the end of the season? I think if we did and finished 6th/7th i'd be happy for KK to go again next year.

No where not a cup team. 4 place min simples
rushdentiilidie

If KK is sacked at the end of this season it will simply prove how worthless that silverware is, and I am hoping he isn't sacked for that reason only. Otherwise....well....you give Rodgers, Wenger, SAF, Rednose, Moyes, Pulis, Jol, and O'Neil the 100m odd that KK has spent and I think you'd find Liverpool sat firmly in the top 4 or 3. Utter disgrace. Him going on about how commercial contracts are as good as silverware is an embarrassment - his job isn't to bore fans to death with behind-the-scenes money chat, it's to win You're closer to the bottom than the top, KK is very lucky to be in employment right now considering the current nature of management. That said, longevity is good and I think if KK had this squad next season he'd do better.

No i will not be happy, £100 mil on players I expect atleast champions league football , Lpoolkris

24 Mar 2012 19:35:18
The questions are should he shouldnt he? or will they wont they? alot of politics involved in the future of kenny dalglish. If it wasnt dalglish in charge there would be a witch hunt from the press hounding the manager out, as the results have been apalling in the league. Any one expecting him to walk are wasting their time it wont happen, he did it once he would lose his king kenny status if he walked again. The owners must be looking on and saying what has he done with 100m, when they took over the club we were in a right mess, now in the league we will end with a worse points total and terrible goal tally than when they arrived. The boardroom decisions will be can the players that have been bought prove their worth, adam/carrol/henderson. If the answer is no the players must go, which then creates the situation do you trust the same manager with the cash, the answer has got to be no again. Winning the cup or cups will be the saviour of the campaign, i just hope the way the club and kenny decide on seperating is one to suit both parties and with dignity, because the club the fans and kenny himself wish for better.

haha its funny y'know i have been saying on this site for a few months now that raina is poor and needs a boot up his bum and yet again people are going to shoot me down we need a new keepers doesnt have to be a superstar just someone to keep pepe on his toes because these poor performances have to stop and yet again all of kenny signing have been world class once again when will we learn we need quality not second rate rejects that none else wants and call me a manc if you want but i was born and bread a red and im getting tired of watching rubbish wear the red shirt shankly would be turning in his grave if he had watch our last few games

Ed if I am correct the europa league that we get is qualifieng round right and it will start in july?
It will impact us next season badly..with euro 2012 also on..
What u think ed?

Red indian {Ed001's Note - I doubt it, just gives some of the youngsters a chance to play in Europe.}

I tend to agree with the editor in this respect. The Europa League will be an advantageous opportunity for Liverpool's younger players next season. The senior European experience will be invaluable. I also feel that an early beginning to the season might help the team to hit the ground running in the league. Red Owl

So you think the the club is going to put our entire European campaign in the hand's of youngster's at the club? i'd think again! {Ed001's Note - well it won't be in the hands of any players going to the Euros will it?}

24 Mar 2012 19:14:23
Ed where has all the optimism gone that surrounded the club. When the new owners came in there was so much excitment around the club, we would finally see a new stadium, we where going to compete on the pitch and off the pitch. Now however none of this seems to be true, we dont compete on the pitch, we dont go after the worlds best players as we dont have the money, the stadium isnt going to happen this year next year or any year that FSG are owners of the club. Henry is only seen in Anfield once or twice a year. Personally I think the club is quickly becoming very ordinary in every aspect ie manager, players, stadium capacity and transfer budgets. Such a shame because when Fenway came in the future looked good now its very very grim.

NA87

I'm actually rather pleased at the number of times I HAVE seen the owner/board at the games. Certainly better than H&G!

The honeymoon period has well gone! did you actually watch the game today? as if you did apart from Sterling how could you be optimistic of what you saw?

I worry that KK has really lost the plot with his latest interview. Tiredness? What a joke. What will he say next year when we have the Thursday EUROPA games to deal with as well. Hand the disallowed goal. It was obviously handball and Kenny is saying it should have counted. I have stood by him but this is getting really embarrassing now. CougarPlayer

I no everyone will disagree but we just got to think about next season to try and get back into the champions league it was a very tall order before this game and it's virtually impossible to get fourth now and anyway we would need arsenal to lose a few too, and they don't look like dropping points very often, let's really push to win the FA cup let arsenal/Chelsea battle to "win" fourth spot and extra cash it's all about trophies we've got one let's try for another! I'm behind kenny I no what he's trying to do.
YNWA.

Square tomato

I half agree, it is all about trophies but just being in the Champions League is a trophy. It's the elite of European football, and next season will be the 3rd season. What does that show regarding Liverpool's current status in Europe?

I have a great deal of respect for what Kenny has done for LFC. It was always going to be hard at the beginning of the season with so many players being bought into the team and trying to integrate them into the team, but we seem to be a little stagnant at the moment, and I am not sure he knows how to get the team back to winning ways, his record this year has been poor. And I hope he can sort this out as we need to get back into the CL and I would rather be in that than win the Carling Cup Ross

Tomato you should check the league table more often that way you,il see arsenal are in 3rd position.the odd positional mistake in the league may not bother liverpool or liverpool fans, but us gooners prefer it a little more precise thankyou
trev the gooner

Hmmmm it's a tough one without using every cliche like "it takes time" "the team needs to jell" but it's true, it is disappointing that we won't be in the CL next season (unless there is a miracle) but I hate the way people talk about kenny he has done so much for Liverpool it's amazing granted some things havnt worked but I really think we should trust him in the long run! Some people want instant success and it very rarely works like that, I'm 22 years old but I've watched all the old footage and he is a legend I think some people are just incredibly disrespectful and need to shut up and support through thick and thin.

I do wonder if some players, when they come to Liverpool, think they have arrived and somehow change in the way they approach their game.

Liverpool are huge from a historical point of view but you can't live of yesterdays glories! You ain't made it coming here, you've just come to a place where the steaks are higher... For crying out loud, man-up and prove something is what I want to say to some of them...

I wish the "steaks" were higher in big Charlie's and hungry Carroll's cases.........it might stop them eating too many......
Rigsby.

Original poster here... lol - I meant stakes not steaks! Maybe, some of them have been eating to many steaks on their loads of dosh a week!

Still really meant it though - you've proved nothing getting here.

Ive always thought this great players like robbie keane, morientes, harry kewell, joe cole, would come to liverpool and push on and become even better only to go downhill and not be able to cut itat this great club:(....redman matt

I think what happens maybe they just try to hard to succeed instead of just playing there natural game....redman mat

24 Mar 2012 19:02:51
I don't know what the answer is, but it is NOT Rafa!! His football was booooooorrring! Just like Houllier, just like Mourinho (even with the £billions he would cost us - that would bankrupt us).

I agree that things are going tits-up, but apart from the last few games, I've actually enjoyed watching Liverpool play this season, for the first time since Roy Evans (Blimey!)

I really believe we have to lower our expectations long-term, and just try to enjoy watching football, rather than dictating 'solutions' which will probably fail anyway.

If football was ONLY about winning trophies, 99% of the teams in the world would have no supporters.... just think about that for a moment, please.

Jimbo77

Best post! Got a couple of mates that support Tranmere and a couple that support Everton and at the moment they would put some of our so called supporters/fans to shame.

Can add my two pennies worth....

1. We're officially further behind points for game on last season by 3pts. Last season 30 games 45pts, this season 30 games 42pts.

Someone said that this is because Kenny has a new squad to work with... let's bring back the old squad then :-)

24 Mar 2012 18:54:01
My opinion on players.

1) Reina = Doesn't look interested anymore. Hasn't been the same for 2 seasons now.
2) Enrique = Good start to the season, but his weak points are now starting to shine. Tries to be too clever on the ball in dangerous positions.
3) Carragher = Has been a legend, but he is finished.
4) Skrtel = Some good performance lately have hidden the fact that he is still rash along with poor positional sense.
5) Flanagan = One for the future, but not for now.
6) Gerrard = Still has some class moments, but nowhere near the player he was.
7) Henderson = Totally out of his depth at a big club, no disrespect to Sunderland.
8) Spearing = Tenacious, but panics when put under pressure and his passing is poor.
9) Downing = A bit better lately, but overall not good enough.
10) Suarez = A class act, needs to score more goals, Will he still be here next year?
11) Kuyt = Been a great servant, but a squad player at best for one more season.

Liverpool need to realise that the cracks that have been papered over are now beginning to appear again. Some serious thinking needs to be done.

Thanks for that. Just goes to show how good a Manager Kenny really is! To get that lot that you've assessed as being thoroughly chite! To win a Cup and be in the semi's of the Fa Cup.

24 Mar 2012 18:43:46
thought the younger players actually did really well today, shelvey was a breath of fresh air and imo should be started over henderson, sterling looked bright and definately deserves a few more appearances, skrtel was abit disapointing today but he has played well this season, personally i feel we should give KK till the end of the season as changing managers would only jepadise our chance in the FA cup then i think he should go back upstairs, would be nice to see a foreign manager as i think we play better under them

Well that was shocking , everyone is blaming KK , but once the players cross that line , they should take their share of the blame too , okay , we can all see who is not playing well , and the league is over for us , so , it was plain to see that carra kuyt hendo need to be benched , also buy a new keeper too in the summer , three things made me some bit happy today , stevie g and suarez linking up for our one goal , shelvey , he was brilliant when he came on , all his passes went forward , and he tackled , take note hendo , then sterling coming on was a breath of fresh air , prove that he can , and will indeed be a future star of Liverpool , we had a clear -out last summer , another one is due soon , I thought that maybe , we needed 3 new players , make that 5 , why on earth did coates not play today , why did shelvey not start , he was the stand - out player in mid-field , he took control , I would like to think that KK and his motley crew can see were we are going wrong , 1st up , buy the best striker that we can afford , and work back - wards to the keeper , ship the dead wood out , come on KK , sort it out , oh nearly forgot , win that Cup-Final for all the Liverpool supporters .

i think that next season will show more progress as the fondations are there for a top 4 finish:
likely first team departures(excluding loanees) and replacements:
maxi: promiting sterling
kuyt- luuk de jong (around 15 mil)
johnson- kelly
doni- promoting a youngster
less likely but possible departures and replacements:
carragher(retirement): coates
adam: shelvey, spearing, gerrard and lucas already ahead but if need be promote coady
riena: sommer (15-20 mil?) or given (10-15mil?)
squad bolstering singings:
gaston ramirez (15-20 mil)
rossi (>15 mil) or soldado (25 mil)
all except maybe rossi are within reality so expect more action in the market.

If getting rid of reina then krul, better than given

Embarrassment!
No points against two teams in the bottom three, five goals conceded.
At least Sterling showed he can beat Premiership defenders with ease, for gods sake let him play till the end of the season and get some experience.Shelvey showed he wants to play not many others did, nothing to lose now as we have already lost all credibility as a top team so why not give the youth a chance until the end of the season, bedding them in now may be worth losing out in the F.A Cup if they can save us a fortune in the transfer market especially given the absolute waste of money spent recently.
Roll on next season we can start believing again only to be disappointed very quickly again.

24 Mar 2012 18:40:53
Perhaps this is a little unprofessional of me, but I feel like I need to add my opinion into this.
I have been a Liverpool supported all my of my life, and in recent years it hasnt been easy has it? The highlight of recent times was finishing 2nd in the Premier League a few years ago.
I do believe there are some major issues within the club at the minute, and all of our players just seem to be so depressed. I don't mean to be rude, but I could never, ever be depressed playing for Liverpool, I'd do it for free!

It baffles me how players can be playing with their heads down so low, but the coaching staff need to take responsibility as well as the players.
I believe that not much would be achieved from sacking Kenny now, as we don't have much to play for in all honesty, and I think it'd be a bit pointless.
Now, would I take Rafa back? That's very difficult. He did have limited funds and pulled out some world class players, but even with money, would they come to us with no Champions League football? Perhaps not. Rafa had a few shocking seasons also, but then to counter had some good ones also.
But who else is out there? Villas Boas? Would we prefer him over Kenny? I'd say that I wouldn't mind AVB at the club, as I think he's a very good tactician. But how would he deal with our players when they're so low? He'd struggle.
To sum up, the club is currently in a very bad state, and I leave you with 2 points to think over:
1: Why is Damien Comoli taking 0 blame for this? His job is scouting talent is it not? He was awful at Tottenham, and I don't think he's improved, but got worse.

2: Liverpool bought the likes of Henderson, Adam and Downing over the likes of Mata etc, as they had Premier League Experience and would likely gel very quickly and get the season off and running quickly. Yet I still see many people saying 'give them time to gel' - a bit concerning. Obviously you can see from the performances that they haven't gelled, so we need to ask, why aren't they?

I still believe Henderson is a very good player, and is just having a nightmare season.

I hope to hear back from you lot soon, and see your opinions.

Thanks all,
Hooch {Ed001's Note - Mata was not interested in joining us when he had the choice of a team in the Champions League.}

I do apologise Ed001, but you get what I mean with regards to choosing players that'd hit the ground running yeah?
Thanks,
Hooch.

24 Mar 2012 18:40:39
Do you not think that the way refs are now with fouls, Sterling could use this to his advantage?

He gets between the opposition and the ball they can't come through him or to the side of him...

24 Mar 2012 18:38:46
I've not long got back in from the match. And now that 4th place as gone and a europa league place already obtained, I do hope Kenny uses the league games left to give Coates and Shelvey a run of games. I have said for a long time now that certain players are getting a run in the team, that are either on the slide, or not quite up to the standard. To me Henderson needs to be used in the centre, but for the time being I would take him out of the firing line.I just can't see what Jay Spearing brings to the table. He chases everything, leaving gaps where he as been. His passes are normally sideways.I hnow he tries his best but if he was from Sunderland he wouldn't be anywhere near the first team.An average player and no more.Raheem should be given cameo roles at Anfield, which I am sure will bring the lad on.I do feel Kenny as an opportunity to give players like Roberts a chance to show what he can do I saw him in the mini derby against Rodwell and Osman and he won everything in the middle.I am not over hyping the lad but he deserves a chance. Most of our games left are mid table affairs so it would at least give the lad an opportunity to show his talents.

Michael roberts is a replica of whelan and lucas . does all the dirty work that no one notices also two footed .

24 Mar 2012 18:36:20
{Ed001's Note - Carragher was poor, on the second goal he was stood watching. In times past he used to have the ability to see the danger and throw himself in the way, that was what made him the player he was. He didn't need pace, he just knew where to be, but now he has no pace and seems to lack that ability to be where he is needed. He should have never have been brought back into the side, Coates should have been given the chance.
Agger is the big miss, not just for his ability to defend and organise, but for his ability to bring the ball out of defence. Enrique leaves the centre backs far too exposed to have someone with Carra's lack of pace in there as well.
Gerrard is still not looking himself, we miss his drive in midfield, especially today when Suarez was having an off day in the main. I fail to understand the point in bringing in Shelvey today either, he was far too deep to get into the game due to deferring to Gerrard. That has to be classed as an error, it was a poor decision.
Henderson's confidence is just non-existent right now, there were so many times he was trying to be careful and ended up wasting possession because he bottled out of shooting or the difficult pass you could see him look at and then change his mind.}
No opinion on Carroll Ed?

Chris in Tamworth {Ed001's Note - hard to give an opinion on a striker who got little service, but he didn't do well, he spends far too much time out of the box and on the flanks. He needs to do what Shearer did his entire career, stay within the width of the 18 yard box and always right up against the opposing centre backs pushing them back. At least he tried to stop the second goal though, no one else bothered.}

Shows that he cares then if he tried to prevent us losing rather than the others

Fair enough assessment Ed

Chris in Tamworth

Totally agree ed. Cant understand why he is not in the box when he should be. Thats the managers fault if you ask me.
kopfiend 1978 ynwa

What nobody is mentioning is how much Lucas Leiva is being missed. There is no one else who has been a "destroyer of danger", and ball winner since his injury. There was a chance to buy someone for that role during the Xmas break, but nothing was done. I'm willing to bet that Henderson's play would improve in the center of midfield with Lucas next to him, next season. ra1969

Agree with most of your post , but Shelvey was our best player when he came on , he tried to pass forward on every occasion , and sterling will def make it as a star , hendo will not make it with us , shelvey is way better , hendo cant tackle a hot dinner .
redforever

True eds carrol shud be in the 18 yard box 75% of the game looking to be on the end of crosses not on the wings or defending like he sometimes is. he will clear a ball with a header out of defence and il think fair play but u shud be heading in the other box!....redman matt

Now its a time of waiting for the end of the season when the season ends, the sooner it does, I want to see Mr. Keneth Dalglish stepping down as manager.

Feel sorry for him, he didn't deserve this!
But his end is all down to the sh**t mega money crap signings he made.

Especially the likes of Henderson, Carroll & Downing.

Henderson: a good young player but I would choose Shelvey over him any day, anyone see the sharpness, cleverness & confidence Shelvey has when he is on the pitch.

Carroll: Crystal Clear not worth 35M and no wonder why we are suffering a lack of goals.

Downing: A decent winger but not worth 18-20M may be for 10-12M but since he is British he is worth that much. No did he made Carroll score nor he has been impressive enough of a 20M player. The money should have invested in a more quality player.

People make excuses that players were not willing to come but its unreasonable though the likes of Aguero's, David Villa's and Snejders won't come but there are lots of player whom Dlaglsih could have got if he moved for them, likes of Mata, Valbuena, Falcao etc.. but instead he choose the overrated British players. His vision of the players with BPL experience will need little time than the likes of players from other leagues to settle in also failed to work, look at Mata, look at Demba Ba..

The damage is done, precious money wasted and Dalglish is not able to make the best use of resources when it came to our hands after such a long time.

In the summer I would like someone as Jurgen Klopp, Didier Dershamps, or a certain Rafa Benitez as coach.

But who ever comes need to make important decisions, some players needs to leave and needs replacements. The likes of Henderson & Carroll should be sent out on loan, & Adam must be sold out there will be plenty of suitors for him. Carragher needs to hang up his boots. Jonjo Shelvey should be playing for First team the kid has talent see those passes he made even the long balls is pin point accurate.
A new CM, AM, right winger & a striker no doubt needed. And please don't buy overrated British players any more, money for quality this time needed. Plus promote the likes of Ngoo, Flanagan, Wisdom, Coady, Silva, Adjoran and Sterling to first team and use them much often though not regularly.

I am so so pissed of as any reds today, no passion, no enthusiasm, no spirit, a dis-jointed team, these are the types of displays I saw when a certain Roy Hodgson was in charge.
I for one is now pretty much convinced the Kenny has lost the authority on the players, his soft attitude towards players & over protecting the players has not done any good. Player favoritism, playing players out of position the list goes on.

It is pointless to sack Kenny now and might be a bit disrespectful so lets support the team and get behind Kenny till the season ends. Then we 'll see where it goes from then, I WOULD LIKE HIM TO STEP DOWN AT THE END OF THE SEASON & I FEEL and hope THIS IS WHAT MAJORITY OF US THINK OF THE SITUATION.

The storms just keep on coming, anyways, walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart, you 'll never walk alone.

Armando

Post of the day by far.

This is the same post that every manager gets when things are tough .

Let the squad and the team get built and all will be well in due course .

I hate to say it but i think times almost up for kenny.

Why say it then?

with these players, we'll win the EPL....and with Dalglish as manager. gosh, we are giving so many extraordinary performances on the pitch.

24 Mar 2012 18:15:29
well guys to be honest that was a shambles of a game...but its not all kennys fault, the players have to take some resposibility,at the start of the season i thought enrique was a great signing, now he believes his own hype and thinks he is messi when he is on the ball, i have no idea why on earth carragher started today ahead of coates especially after that goal mid week, flanagan had a decent game, henderson was terrible and i dont know how he starts ahead of shelvey,i also think kuyts time has come to leave in the summer, hes just too slow.I thought sterling was brilliant whaen he came on!
I ask all u moaners who want kenny out,do we really want to be a club who will have 4 managers in 4 years if kenny is sacked?we will be like chelsea.
Anyway for the rest of the season i would love us to play 442 with sterling and downing on the wings and carrol and suarez up front!

Quinn

But Kenny bought the players, so he has to take some responsibility. Players like Adam, Henderson, Downing and Carroll either aren't good enough or don't have the character to stand up and be counted when needed; or both in some cases.
Some of Kenny's selections and tactics are also questionable, to say the least; so, again he has to accept some criticism.
I'm not having a go or calling for his head but you can't blame the players and not him.
Rigsby.

I regularly see 'it's not all Kenny's fault' and that is certainly true...BUT...the manager decides who will be bought and who will be sold. He decides who goes onto the pitch and what position they play. He decides the tactics and changes tactics and personnel during the game according to how things are going, He is
the man to motivate the team - in whatever way works....the last two results alone show that many many things are not right. There is only one person responsible for ALL the above pieces in the jigsaw and that is the manager. Sentiment
is fine.Loyalty is terrific, but the most important thing is the club...Not any one person. We seem to be locked into a downward spiral and some 'fans' on here think we should do nothing about it...I
am a fan of the club...not of any one manager or any one player.
To suggest a comment like this one (and
there have been quite a few over the last few months) means the person saying it cannot be a fan smacks of childishness in the extreme
Puzzled

Rigsby-i was only saying its not all his fault,of course some of it is,but the players arent performing either.
Puzzled i never said any such comment,i was merely suggesting that its like the players realise they have nothing to play for in the league now and some of them look disinterested,i realise keny has made mistakes but what if he does get sacked in the summer and we get someone like AVB in in the summer, and he has a bad first season will u then be calling for his head. One of the main things we need is stability,as i said do we want to be known as a team who fires there manager if he doesnt bring instant succes!

cant wait for todays pathetic one liners,feel totally embarrassed by all these results,he used to sit their like cesaer in the colleseum and watch hodgson get pelters,any decent person would of stayed away but he turned up at every match to make it worse for him.well now its his turn to do the right thing and resign. Great player but very ordinary manager and certainly not good enough to take us any further .Magsman {Ed001's Note - are you for real? Dalglish came to watch the team he loved, why should he not be there? Should we just have kept Anfield empty so Roy wouldn't have been shown up as being totally out of his depth in front of the crowd? What an idiotic comment.}

Idiotic comment I agree Ed. But I do have to agree with Kenny now being out of his depth as much as Roy was. Clarke and Keen look like muppets on the bench aswel.

24 Mar 2012 18:12:04
Terrible. Loosing is bad enough, but to loose in that manner was shocking. Was expecting a reaction at Anfield from the players after the QPR game. But no, nothing.

King Kenny will always be the King in my eyes, but his honeymoon period is over. The players aren't reacting to him anymore. It is them who should be blamed not Kenny. If i was the owners i would fine every player a weeks wages for that, and i would refund the home crowd.

Changes need to be made, this is no knee jerk reaction, its been festering away under the surface for a while now, and these run of results have been coming because the players are not good enough. Look at our mid field today. Spearing, reserve quality player, Stevie, past it, Downing, not good enough, Henderson ditto.

Its clear that Kenny has wasted money. But surely Comolli has to shoulder some of the blame.

So what do we do? Well here is my take on it. First up ship Gerrard and Carra out. Then the King. There is no place for sentiment in Football. All 3 are past it. Then i would ship Comolli out. Then i would re-install Rafa as manager. I would love hm to return to oversee what he has started with the youth set up. Love to see him get backed with the cash Kenny had. We would have british sub standard players we would have genuine quality.

Dear Editors - I'm sorry you have to read this absolute tosh, especially with the intelligent posts you lot always have, and the smart points of view put forth in a legible manner... But today is ridiculous. I'll stop inciting a riot by disagreeing with a bunch of pissed off kids in secondary school and stick with the club - win, lose, draw - no matter what, eh? Some fans might call me a sheep for following blindly, but I'll be a fan of the club no matter WHAT happens. Of course I want progression towards improvement and future goals, but I'm not gonna jump off a bridge over one season, over some bad performances, the like. It's a game, it's a passion, it's a club - and it's something I'll have in my heart til the day my heart refuses to beat again! Sorry that there's a boatload of drivel on the pages, but there's only so much you can tell the newer generation of supporter...

What happens tomorrow will be a test of FSG's ambition. It's not as simple as sacking King Kenny because like for all triumphs, it is the entire management (and I include Ayre and Comolli in this) that must also be accountable for all failures. Let's see what they do. But it's clear today's loss to Wigan was a tipping point...... YNWA ra1969

i have to say after watching that disgrace of a lfc team attempt to perform today ....we need some major investment in that squad ....we need at least 5 world class players .....we've gone back a country mile ....its a sad day to be a red ...if this mis-management continues we will go the way of leeds utd ....mark my words ...bye bye premier league in 2 seasons ......fergie's ribs must be hurting from all the laughter he's endured during 2012

24 Mar 2012 18:28:40
Terrible game today.

Can people please stop saying Kenny has spent £100m. Say if he sold £200m worth of players and spent £100m would you still say that's £100m spent? Of course not. If I go the bookies and spend a tenner and win a fiver ive spent a fiver. He's spent 30 odd million. Stop reading the headlines!

OK, some, if not most of them haven't worked out yet but thats always the case when buying players. What Liverpool have to do is learn from recent times and not to hold on players too long in the hope they'll come good.

I still believe Kenny will get it right.

Wavertree Red

No he has spent £100m, it doesn't matter were the money came who we sold,he has still spent a £100m !!!!!!!!!!

Maths not your strong point then.

Wavertree Red

Doesn't really matter what has been spent. We should not be losing week in week out to teams that are going to be relegated.

Basically, we are a Championship side at the moment.

24 Mar 2012 18:27:06
Kenny, I love you, but the time has come.

Fall on your sword.

... but I keep telling myself, 'be careful what you wish for'.

I honestly believe we could be in exactly the same situation next year with a different manager.

Where's my noose?

Jimbo77

So, we should not do anything because may be we'd be in the same situation next season. keep this all going along and forget to see Liverpool being crowned as Champions of England. Kenny needs to go. What has he bought has been average. henderson is absolutely a disgrace to watch as for an example. :(

I'm not saying we shouldn't do anything, I'm saing I don't know what we should do.

Henderson is not a disgrace, that's harsh. He didn't decide his transer fee, and I think he'll be a decent player in 3 years time.

I refer to my post some months ago, that Shelvey should be ahead of him, but he's hardly had a sniff.

24 Mar 2012 18:26:56
People saying they hope Kenny goes at the END of the season, why the end,he needs to go NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And just WHO would you have takeover, that's available at this point in the season?

After todays pathetic display and the shocking collapse against Q.P.R its about time the KD worshipers started thinking with their brain instead of their heart and accept the fact that KD is not good enough to be a modern day football manager.Time and again this season he has shown that he is tactically clueless and the only thing he is doing is turning LFC fans who idolised him against him.If KD loves the club as much as Im sure he does he should do the right thing and step down from the managers job NOW before any more damage is done because right now we are the laughing stock of the Premier League. Thanks E.C 05

KD loves the club, and the fans love him. There are many ways to serve the club other than as manager.

24 Mar 2012 18:22:54
I'll play FIFA now and beat Wigan just to make myself feel better. This form is so depressing.

Are you AVB ? :)

24 Mar 2012 18:21:54
I think the most annoying thing that has happened to Liverpool this season is the fact that between the start of the season to Dec31st we should have won more games after dominating teams (spurs away exception). During this spell we put our failings down to bad luck, hitting the woodwork too many times, not having the rub of the green, and new players taking time to settle in at our club.

Since the start of 2012 our home and away form has been terrible, even in the cup final we were poor and it took some terrible misses from our opponents to allow us to end up winning it. We have lost 5 out of the last 6 in the league which is the worst in the league.

KD week on week keeps coming out and defending the players even though we as fans know that KD has got it wrong with his tactics and style of play he has set out. KD instead has become a lot like Benitez was with the press in the end, gone is the happy go lucky character he had at the start of the season instead we are treated to the constant denial of his inability to see that he keeps playing sub standard players in baffling tactics.

Players like Kuyt and Carra although great servants to the club no longer cut the mustard and both won't be at the club next season, therefore why keep playing them, why not play youth in Sterling and Coatez? Adam and Carroll should never ever have been bought both are useless and will never make the grade, again why not play Maxi and Shelvey?

KD is tactically naive and his signings have been a huge disappointment this season. I know a lot of reds on here are in agreement with me on this but the owners need to further invest heavily before we are even mentioned in the same breath for finishing in a top 4 position again. Do the owners really trust KD with another huge war chest of millions, I think not?

KD will be moved upstairs at the end of the season and a new manager will be the most important signing next before any player. The search starts NOW....no more excuses KD do what you preach "do the best thing for club"....and go..

Curled1

The whole premier league are above us ( form wise), bar wolves

24 Mar 2012 18:21:24
Let's see: Lucas, Agger, Kelly, Johnson, Bellamy, Adam (all injured). Flanagan, Shelvey, Coates, Eccleston, Sterling, Spearing (half the squad are youngsters). Considering that that's half the first team injured and the other half comprising youngsters including a debutant, you would think Kenny deserves some slack, eh? But not with you lot Singred

Well, most of them have been injured recently. were we in the top 4, when they were fit. C'mon get a grip. This is Liverpool, not Wigan, we can't live all our life on excuses.

24 Mar 2012 18:19:01
kenny out? you should all be ashamed of yourselves. we arent chelsea. give the man a chance, its his 1st full season back. hes only had 1 summer transfer window to work in and january isnt usually a good time to buy. yes, we should be better off in the league but we are league cup winners, fa cup semi finalists with european football next season to look forward to, not to mention playing some nice football right now. we are 3 players short of a 'perfect' team, which i think will be sorted this summer. next season i genuinely believe we will push back into top 4, if not contend for the title. obviously after todays result that is hard to imagine but dont change the manager, all thats needed is a little fine-tuning and we will be immense. stop moaning about where we are in the league now and take a step back, look at the big picture.. where are we going? the new era has just begun and i, for 1, am excited to see where its going. kenny in charge next season and for the next 10years!

Red indian

I also see where you could have replied versus making a new post, but you gotta be the center of attention don't ye, eh?

End of season is fair enough, but the most awful players pound for pound?

In recent history, I'd hardly say that Fernando Torres at 50m and Veron at whatever ridiculous fee he commanded were by far worse, pound for pound in the premiership for their new clubs. And the league position is not acceptable to whom? You? the league position is what it is, you can support or you can choose not to, and as probably the most or second most negative poster on this site for the past few months AT LEAST, I think I know the choice you've made..

Whine, or support? Which is easier? Which is more worth it?

Why does reina just stand there and let the ball go past him without making a move? Then just stands and give daggers to the defender? is there a serious issue there? its not just happened once....

thanks Harley

Totally agree. Reina is so over-rated, and full of his own importance!
We should make a new goalie our first priority next season.

Is it possible that the players know that CL footy is all but lost so are not too bothered about breaking too much of a sweat to win these points? I hope not because we are playing for pride now, the players need to be playing for the respect of our badge and us the fans.

I wouldn't be surprised if we go on to win the FA Cup and if we plan on bringing in any big name players in the summer, it is vital we do so now.

I'd happily take 2 trophies over competing in the champions league which we are obviously not good enough for at the moment and most likely would get knocked out in the group phase.

Can't polish a top 4 finish so 2 trophies right now I'd take any day,

But finishing top 4 next season will mean everything and the owners need to take decisive action to ensure that happens, and by that I mean buying proven quality players, with or without Kenny but for me it boils down to the players on the pitch doing what they were bought to do

We've seen this season that they are capable of dominating and playing some world class football so it can't all be Kenny's fault I think if he had better players then most of our missed opportunities would have been taken, soft goals wouldn't have been conceded, crosses and free kicks wouldn't have been wasted, etc etc

I hope to see a golden sky around the corner

Walk on, walk on

The other point to your post suppose you win the FA cup does that make for a great season?

Will the fans still want Dalgleish out or will it keep him in his job?

Do you think if getting the cup double the team will be anygood next season?

I can see IF you win the FA cup, Dalgleish staying on do you seriously think next season you'd do better in the league

Personally the whole suarez episode sealed his fate for me regardless

All I'm going to say is that had any other manager had the recent string of results that we have currently experienced, most would be baying for their blood.

The people who have posted for him to get out of the club obviously have no appreciation for what King Kenny has done for this club. But the longer our current run goes on, the more the legend that he has established will begin to diminish.

Kenny should not be exempt from criticism because he is a legend, but he needs to do something fast to turn things around, otherwise his time at the club may be cut short.

Loads of unsigned posters on here! Shouting Kenny out! Totally unable to Look at the Bigger Picture?
WE ARE A WORK IN PROGRESS AND THE TEAM WILL SOMETIMES BE GOOD AND SOMETIMES BE BAD AND WE HAVE ACCEPT THIS AS A LEARNING CURVE.
On another point which is quite relevant to all the whingers! There are lots of posters saying how good Sterling looked: which is a fair comment as I also thought he looked pacy and skilful!
"Raheem don't ever have a bad game!" or you'll get absolutely slaughtered on here!
Thankfully Kenny is a tough Glaswegian and will carry on! and eventually make you lot eat your words!

{Ed005's Note - Has a lot of work to do that. Chances are we'll not even reach the points tally we did last year.}

ED 5 your reply just reiterates my point!
I'ts not about if we finish lower than last year? we've qualified for Europa Cup and our pass and move play is the only to way to bring sustained success. 3 or 4 players need to be moved on in the Summer and 3 or 4 brought in that can fit better into the system. Rome wasn't built in a day, took Fergiscum years to win anything.
kidmillions

Sick of hearing that were a work in progress. How long exactley do you think that progress should take. With the amount of money KK has spent we should not be a work in progress, and lets be honest with some of the signings KK has made I can't see much progress being made.

Blind faith in a relic from the past.worshiping a past idol that can do no wrong, because its king kenny the second coming. yeah thats just what a football club needs for success. a weird supersticious lot you l/pool supporters are

Work in PROGRESS, what F----N planet are you on,PROGRESS you say,we have DROPPED MORE POINTS against lower teams this season than I care to remember,we are heading DOWN the league not up,we have played S----E football ALL season,we just about won a Mickey Mouse cup against Cardiff, and we might not reach the number of points that we got last season and ALL this AFTER we have spent £100 mill and you call this WORK IN PROGRESS,I call it ABYSMAL and an EMBARRASSMENT

Alan50

I'm fed up of the work in progress rubbish, it's true but it's not an excuse for the results, no points against QPR or Wigan is not acceptable, there is no reason with the money spent we keep dropping points against poor teams. I can see a lot of problems on the team, Henderson for example everyone knows his best position, except the gaffer. I want kenny to continue as rebuilding does not take a season, but he is by no means excempt from critisim, there was only one team who has less points than us in 2012 and they beat us today.
Points speak louder than words my friend

You lot of knee jerk quitters would of got rid of Fergiscum for the mancs years ago, cos it took him years to win anything.

Thank God the "work in progress" types don't own the club, or we'd be "working our progress" in the Championship. Because that's where we're "progressing" to.

24 Mar 2012 17:56:48
Been telling you all for nearly 3 months that kenny is not a good enough tactical manager. Every time iv been on an mentioned it i get berated by fickle fans with the belief that things are on the up, because Dalglish says so, despite the fact that were dreadful in the league and riding our luck in the cups.
We may have made wembley twice as im sure many of you will tell me, but do you want to get there for the cup and sacrifice the league? Kenny is not good enough tactically. Every now and then he gets it right but more often than not he doesnt. I mean one of the worst teams in the league and our only idea is long ball to Carroll?
We are worse under Dalglish than under Hodgson, accept that the legend doesnt cut it at management anymore. People say hes out of touch and needs time well Liverpool should expect better. A top club like us should have a line of experienced and sharp managers queing outside Anfield for the job. By the time most of our fans have realised all of the above we will be closer to relegation than the title. Every year we miss out on Champs league we miss the opportunity to sign elite players who want to play in the best competition, but worse, we allow someone else the chance to sign those players and catch us. Look at Tottenham, Van der Vaart and Adebayor.
Then theres these who say weve got Europa no matter where we finish, play the kids, each position dropped is millions in prize money.
Face it, we are not good enough, we need someone to come and spur us on. Its no good Kenny saying we were unlucky every week, because luck doesnt make you struggle week in week out for the past 6 months, maybe the odd game. Maybe Carroll is a good signing, after all hes the only player we have who has experience of bouncing back from relegation...
Fair enough is not that bad, yet, but if something does not change then our 'unlucky' fun becomes a vicious circle of reduced revenue and reduced ability to attract top players, if you dont believe it can happen head North East and you will find two teams who have precedent that it can in Leeds and Newcastle. Rant over.

Anfield Andy

Tactical Manager? WTF! Barca are the benchmark and they don't have tactics and are not over coached or burdened with tactics.
Just a pass and move ethos with a sprinkling of World class talent some bought and some that develop through the system and become World Class. And no matter who they play or whatever the venue? They play the same Way.
That's what Kenny is trying to do with us? And it takes time and assembling the right players not tactics. Keep it Simple!
kidmillions

Barca don't have tactics! ha. Wait, let me guess - they don't train either! Oh, and they don't have the best player of all time. Yeah - it's easy - just be like Barca.

What are you on about? Saying he needs to get his squad, what Dwning, Henderson, Carroll are gonna play like barca? Behave fool, wwe dont have time, we need yo sort it now, like i said every year wasted is millions!

Hello Eds,
sorry to say that but today's defeat should seal KK's fate. We love him, we admire him, we salute him. He is a legend. But the team has just gone down to another home defeat with poor side. We can forget about CL for good, our last hope is the FA Cup. But it doesn't change the way the club looks. A lucky win in Curling Cup doesn't change that either. Another sad weekend for the club, the players and the fans.

The players let kenny and us fans down again!

Should the King transfer upstairs?

The thing is, its like doing something really important with your Grandad, you love him to bits but you know what he's doing is wrong! you just never want to tell him! so you stand back and love him no matter what. At what point do we stop standing back, however the important thing is that at no point will we stop loving him. Transfers, playing style, big game attitude is all wrong. 34 years as an idol won't change, LFC must!

Lovely analogy... I love my Grandad, but he makes me laugh with his ridiculous comments, and strange behaviour! That's prob why I love him!

I,m sure Fenway are planning an exit strategy for Kenny.

Quite simply put our big names were bad today and therefore shows how average our side are, sterling should have come on earlier and kuyt was average and gets slower and slower. Also is it just me or does anyone else think reina has had bad season?

The other teams have spotted a weakness - when one on one kick the ball at him, it will go through his legs - otherwise he has always been a bit sus at corners, bur great otherwise as his record of clean sheets shows.

Yes all the teams now have a game plan , were they pressure our goalie and back four , just look at the two goals we conceeded today , its like my old school report , must do better .

The whole team were poor. Can't blame KK for that.

Kenny needs to finish the season off

Only then can he go with any credability

We as fans of Liverpool Owe it to Kenny to finish the season off

In the meantime DC can draw up a list of new managers and put feelers out that don't embarass Kenny

The season is over apart from the FA Cup lets accept that

Lets support Kenny for the FA cup

Who is to say a new manager will fare any better than Kenny?

ITs a money game now and Liverpool FC are not Rolling in money, so any new manager will have to develop players and will need time the days of Liverpool going out and buying the best are over at least for the next 5 years or so until the Financial fair play rules kick-in if they do

History will judge Kenny Kinder than many "Fans" here on this site. Yes Kenny shoud be criticised I am not saying he should not be just lets keep it in perspective, Kenny has done a lot for our club.

What's another month or two?

Its a sad time for Kenny and all supporters of this great institution that is LFC.

How about at the end of the season you go - for the good of the club ?

And people wonder why others don't sign posts

The answer is simple they become targets for Qwerty and his ilk

My thoughts exactly.

davethebutcher

Liverpool spent 100m on players granted that its gross, but its still a huge amount of money

There is no chance if the manager leaves in the summer he will have any credibility he has shown himself to be completely out of his depth
Pardoe

It has nothing to do with signing a post (though there is no reason not to sign a post) .

Kenny Dalglish wille stablish a proper LFC team , the likes of which LFC have not produced in the Premier league era .

However these things are a long term project . Kenny Dalglish is infinately the 'Best man for the Job' .

However you have to know what the job is first , to understand what work is being done .

Dalglish's statement during the week that it would take a hell of a player to improve the team sent shivers down my spine, does he really think this? is he really this deluded? this team is a complete shambles, wining the tin pot cup on pens was just hiding the awful truth. the huge outlay on new players has been wasted, any other manager would have been sacked by now.... please please please resign!!

24 Mar 2012 17:48:57
Just a few questions.

Would it make sense to replace King Kenny now and give the new manager 8-10 games so that he can figure out what needs to be done in the transfer window?

We have already qualified for the Europa league, should we now use the PL to groom players for the next season i.e. Coates, Sterling and Shelvey?

Is it time for us to sell Gerrard? He has been great for us over the years but now IMHO he disrupts the rhythem of the team. Other players just stop playing when he is on the pitch and start passing the ball back to him.

Should we play Johnson on left midfield with Kelly or Flanagan at RB?

Sell Gerrard

Yeah that's the answer - Brilliant!

Maybe the reason they pass the ball to Gerrard so often is that they are poor quality players who should not don the shirt?

My answers to these questions

1.) No. Keep Kenny until the end of the season, then bring a new man in.

2.) Yes. I think Coates and Shelvey especially deserve more playing time. As for Sterling and the other young players, they should be used in cameo roles.

3.) Definitely NO. Gerrard is a legend and will probably be seen as the greatest ever player to wear red. He's just returned from a long lay-off and needs more pitch time to get back to his best.

4.) Perhaps. We have nothing to lose and I think both Kelly and Flanagan are great at RB so not having Johnson wouldn't be a great loss.

Kenny is a proud man and in order to retain his pride, he should now walk away with his head held high. He has helped us out a lot, did wonders after replacing Hodgson last January but this season has been abysmal, apart from our cup runs. The only thing Kenny has on his side is the Carling cup and semis of the FA Cup. I think any other man at the helm would have been gone now. FSG put themselves in a precarious situation by appointing him as if they were to give him the boot, would there be a severe backlash from Liverpool fans? I personally would love him to stay, but unfortunately football is based on results and he hasn't got a good enough record. We are not going to get a manager in now from another club so I wouldn't mind giving Rafa another crack of the whip until the end of the season and review the situation then.

Mitch

I'm sorry, but Kenny brought us to the FA Cup semi-finals and must be allowed to see it through. Why should Rafa claim the credit for a run that Kenny has placed so much emphasis and worked tiredlessly on? Singred

24 Mar 2012 17:47:59
I agree with most posters on here that Kenny Dalglish needs to be replaced. What I don't agree with is the way that so many of them express that view!

He's the greatest ever Liverpool legend, and deserves some respect! Yes he probably needs to go, but he certainly doesn't deserve to be abused!!

24 Mar 2012 17:45:59
It's a different era since kenny last managed at Blackburn it was that start of money and no heart but only very few players.

Now it's all money and 'I couldn't give a sh!t as long as I get paid' unless I want more
Money from a new club than I'm your best player.

Its not all kennys fault the players were just lying about wanting to play for the club.

The worst thing is, Kenny seems to genuinely think he is doing a good job. His interviews are embarrassing and delusional.

KD's interviews are ungracious
The media will be quite happy to start getting the digs in now

Yes his interviews are cringe to the point of extreme. I have noticed he has struggled to handle the increased media coverage that there is these days compared to when he managed before. He lets journos get to him far too easy and ends up looking silly by trying to make these random jokes and "witty" remarks.
The Gooch

He is not up to the media side of the job, for sure.

In terms of style and media management, the game has changed. The likes of Mourinho and Guardiola are exemplars. Bringing a manager out in a rumpled track-suit to make some grumpy remarks to the camera - that is the past.

The media have given KK and Liverpool a really hard time this season , if I was getting interviewed , by any of that crowd , I would give them all a much harder line , sure fergie has been doing this for years , anyone who asks a difficult question , is not allowed in next time , so all them diff questions soon stopped , lay off KK , let him take us to this semi-final , and maybe the Cup-Final , then he will make that big decision , will he stay or will he go .

Not directed at all of you, but....

To all Liverpool fans that are doing this, please just stop trolling the Arsenal site, your team can't even beat Wigan, and frankly it's laughable. We're on top form and Liverpool, well, aren't.
So basically, stop embarrising yourselves.

Have a pleasant evening.

By the time i get in 2nite i would have driven 13hours 2 go and watch that shambles and dont get me wrong we were awful 2day it was like we had given up on the league the highlight for me was sterling coming off the bench the noise when he come on was fantastic!but boing the the team off the pitch at full time is not the answer!! King kenny

24 Mar 2012 17:43:14
I am embarrassed to be associated with a lot of "fellow reds" on here. Fair enough it was a terrible performance today but the anger shown towards Kenny is shocking. Ok if you would like him to step aside with dignity but don't insult or belittle a true gentleman and great man.
I know he bought some poor players but hey have been much much poorer than they were last year. Downing seems scared and lacks bottle and i feel most let down by henderson as he seems so scared to tackle, pass or shoot. 3 things a footballer should really be able to do.
To make things worse carra, reina, kuyt and a few others have had poor seasons.

Deflated Jason

24 Mar 2012 17:43:09
I did say this before. Let the young players get chance to play and more playing time. See the impact of Sterling and Shelvey today. Henderson 20M for what? Cariol 35M for what?. I would rather promote the young ones. The only good thing is that King Kenny will give these kids chance unlike any other manager we choose to replace him. Verdict: Keep King Kenny for the younger kids to get promoted. Clear all the old and new players except Gerrard, Reina, Suarez, Enrique,Downing.
What do you think EDs?
Disappointed.
Fusc {Ed005's Note - Players like Sterling aren't ready to play on a regular basis for a full season. The young players deserve a chance but at 17 they are just not physically able to do that. I think Shelvey should play more though I like him.}

This is getting ridiculous now...

Eds,
please give me an honest answer, I want to know your opinion.
Do you think Dalglish should get sacked? {Ed001's Note - no, the season is over, except for the FA Cup, give him a chance to win that and then assess it. I think there is more at fault than just him though, there seems to be issues with a number of the coaching staff. A complete lack of confidence throughout the playing staff is a major issue, only Skrtel seems to have any at all. Kenny might well have to go, but the whole coaching set up needs to be assessed as well. Why are they not filling the players with confidence?}

Maybe there is nothing to get them pumped up for if they know the season is over and we are already in Europe then maybe they feel like there is no point. The only time the players bother is in the fa cup now and I agree ed it's not right

people calling for Gerrard to be dropped are just idiots. genius for 10 years, bad form for a few weeks and he's past it.... KENNY OUT.

24 Mar 2012 17:29:39
Absolutely gutted by our performance today. Now I am sure that KK is not the manager who can give us the title. He is so stubborn with his tactics. Everybody can see that Kuyt was unable to play in the 2nd half but why wait at the 85 mins to replace him.The only positive of this match is the introduction of Sterling who was superb for the 5 mins he was on the pitch.

24 Mar 2012 17:24:42
Ed001 what are your thoughts on the game ?

I hope if KD has learnt anything today he understands somethings
1. Carraghers place is on the bench . He looks past it and playing aside him skrtels performance drops too.(play coates until agger returns)
2. Play Carroll , suarez and gerrard together in as many games possible .(Just when they start clicking he breaks the team)
3.Keep Kuyt on the bench and rather give the likes of sterling , ecclesston , shelvey the Chance to shine.
If he does this I am damn sure we will finish the season well.
HERES HOPING
LFC fan from INDIA {Ed001's Note - Carragher was poor, on the second goal he was stood watching.
Henderson's confidence is just non-existent right now, there were so many times he was trying to be careful and ended up wasting possession because he bottled out of shooting or the difficult pass you could see him look at and then change his mind.}

Oh dear, what a shocking result but please leave my friend Queen Kenny alone.
He obviously listened to me when I said Adam was worth £10M, sorry Kenny it was a joke.
Kenny shouldn't be blamed for losses to great sides such as QPR and Wigan, truly world beaters!
Can you stay ahead of the Toffee Men and Sunderland who are both in good form, oops they will be your opponents in the FA Cup.
Please please please don't ever call for Kenny's head as I want him to stay in the job forever.

Kenny should stop protecting the lads and give every player a right good kick up their arse for letting the fans down with their can't-be-arsed attitude. I expect that he will recognise that a couple of his signings are just not LFC standard and will ship them out. We need just 1 or 2 strikers and a winger, and yes I still expect him to be in charge next season. Singred

Hope Liverpool sell Carroll, Adam, and Kuyt in the summer. What should that get us, about 20million for a quality signing.

and what is wrong with Reina.... he was one of the best goalkeepers in the world for years and now he hardly makes a move right.. :/

20m i dont think so, would get 5 mill for adam or caroll and kuyt is past his best, the money has been spent so porrly it wont be made up by finishing top 4 or by selling underperforming player and thers only 1 person to blame for that. kenny!

24 Mar 2012 17:37:24
Is it just me or do you find it strange that Wigan were given a penalty for a high kick when in reality that infringement is only punishable with an indirect free kick?

HA! take that FA licensed referees!

24 Mar 2012 17:36:59
And if Kenny were to walk away, WHO'S GONNA MANAGE US TIL SEASON'S END?

McSnuggles

Who would want to

If left to their own devices. I have a strange feeling that Jurgen Klinsmann could be a contender... U-S-A and all that...

Just a little feeling. Quite the dilemma though.

I feel Martin O' Neill could get the best out of our current bunch though - a continental manager will want to rip the squad up entirely!

He would have more funds - and be under less pressure to sell his best players than at Villa - and he really is Mr Motivator, he usually overachieves.

He always said he'd like a shot at a top club (no jokes utd fans) - but would he leave Sunderland so soon?

Klopp has ruled himself out of the Chelsea job - likely means we can forget that.

Bielsa? Don't see it.

Mourinho will never happen.

I'm torn on AVB - he handled Chelsea very poorly.... abysmal misuse of talent imo -

but he may have learned a few lessons - and i'd love to bring in a young manager, one who could build a dynasty, he would certainly be interested - and he knows a few languages and has a good reputation, he could work well with existing staff - and didn't get much time at Chelsea. (Kenny has had more than twice as long as him at LFC!)

Considering Kenny had the 2nd half of last year to assess the squad and target signings - and had a full pre-season to prepare the side for a league campaign unhindered by European football - in a year where he didn't have to contend with a World Cup or European Championships which tired his players - Kenny really hasn't done well in terms of progressing - AVB had relatively little time to assess and make changes.

I wouldn't write the guy off.

Van Gaal would not have widespread support, but I wouldn't object - he'd raise some hell with those lazy gits out there today!

Any ideas?

Personally - either AVB or M'ON for me.

AVB is the riskier choice though imo, we would all need to be patient with him if he took over.

In Martin's case - I feel he would handle Downing, Hendo, Carroll et al much better though - and he will give youth a chance to shine.

At the risk of sounding uncultured - I'm also a 442 junkie - and proud of it.... what can I say....

We don't have the players to play like Barca..... FACT.

I know what you're thinking too because I said FACT.

No.

Politely of course. Enough going back.

BJH YNWA.

Guys/Gals,

Missed the game for the 1st time in ages. Just looking at the stats and hearing the abuse!

Can someone who watched it-was at Anfield enlighten me at what the freck happened?

1. Was the crowd its usual quiet self? (we used to have a 12th man through good AND bad.
2. What has happened to our defence?? Reina culpable AGAIN?
Etc etc

Cheers,

Lee YNWA

Only atmosphere was when sterling came on and the whole defence bar flanno were woeful especially carra and pepe yet again

First thing that springs to mind is your comment about our defence! What has happened to it? I know Agger is a giant - but is Carra making us play his style(ie long balls)? Getting sooooo much stick from other fans right now - Only positive.... The FA Cup. Roll on Wembley and the summer.

24 Mar 2012 17:36:49
A couple of months ago I said 7th. It's looking worse than that now.
Dalglish will not get sacked, he will walk.
The world of football has changed so much since he was last in management.

24 Mar 2012 17:36:25
Far too many Kenny should be sacked comments to reply individually. I have been critical of the team and purchases since october -- so I am not one of these with red tinted specs , but I think loosing the manager at this time of the season will be extremely stupid, we dont have a Matteo to stand in until may, and no other sane manager will leave their job and jump in at this time. I dont think Kenny will be the manager at the start of next season, I think even an FA cup wont change that, too many things have not gone according to plan and at the end of the day , the manager is responsible.
So lets just hope for a better finish than we have had, and come May things will most likely change.
Roy

24 Mar 2012 17:36:09
No one likes to join our team this summer, no one would play with theese heartless bunch of idiots. The players has no Liverpool spirit, and we fans must demand some changes! I love Kenny Dalglish but i love Liverpool the most. Remember what Daliglish once said: no one is above this club. Including the King himself

24 Mar 2012 17:34:19
well look at the mess kenny has us in. i think he will step down if we get knocked out the fa cup or win it. our team only shows up for significant games. if rafa came back, he would be thinking, wtf is a henderson, carroll, downing! who is this adam guy.where have all my world class players gone? ahh well my youngsters can do the job better, just a shame i didnt get all that money to spend!

24 Mar 2012 17:34:05
We all knew that this problem would arise as it always does when you appoint a club legend as manger and things go wrong
People need to remember that nowadays history means nothing to the league table and that never mind who the are legend, king or not, no-one is bigger than the club
We all know that it is a hard fact to believe but it ultimately is true.
JP

24 Mar 2012 17:32:12
COMOLI should be first for the GUILLOTINE.

Why!!

And kenny right behind him, reason, because they are the people who sanction paying such a huge amont of money on very average players, i mean how many team in the top 10 would have carol, henderson or adam in their starting line up.

24 Mar 2012 17:31:10
I said earlier that on current form it's a Wigan win - only wolves and Wigan (b4 today) with less points this year - gr8 reading isn't it lol

24 Mar 2012 17:28:14
Some awful criticism at Kenny. Yes it's clear that he isn't the man for the job and we will need another more tactically apt manager to bring us on to the next level but Kenny is a legend. He settled us 12 months ago when no one would come near us. Things have not gone to plan this season but Kenny will always be king at Liverpool just hopefully in an ambassadorial role at the club. I think the club will also have to quit being stubborn and admit that Charlie Adam and Andy Carroll are not Liverpool players, cut our losses in the Summer please. For some reason though and don't ask me why but I still think Henderson can be a very good player in a more central role and when he grows a pair of balls! Sterling is the future, unleash him on the Premier League now is what I say.
The Gooch

Good post apart from hendo he's in the same league as Adam & Carroll and Downing

I love kenny he never lets us down, lol

Kenny is ALWAYS the king, but one full season at a club isn't enough for players to properly settle and gel. Adam and Carroll can be central to our success if they can better immerse in the team's philosophy.

Sterling is STILL SO SLIGHT, he's little. He's definitely getting a LOT bigger, so we might be seeing him sooner than we ever thought, but not yet. Cameos. Cameos only.

McSnuggles

Seasons over league wise. Hopefully win the FA cup double not bad!!
I still won't lower myself to levels of some of the "fans?" on here
I'll give you more than one season Kenny means as you've done more for the club than any other man ever has or will do

Skrtel only works well with Agger

Its a pity Agger is so fond of the physio/doctor!

It stands to reason. Who on Earth could do well alongside Carra?

Kinda like ham & cheese

Skrtle doesn't work well with a gobby know it all, who keeps the whole team playing deep, would be more precise Imo.

24 Mar 2012 17:26:23
1 win in 6, relegation form, dalglish out NOW

Along with Spurs then!!!

Big difference, spurs are 5th and will easily qualify for champions league, we will be lucky to finish top 10, sunderland and everton are both in form and would suprise me if they both finish higher

Will easy Qualify???

24 mar 2012 17:25:58
dear kenny dalglish

please get out of our club !!

How do you have the Nerve to use the "OUR" club to get him out. Have some respect it's more His club than yours.

Fair dues if you want him out. Try having a bit more respect for the man

24 Mar 2012 17:25:27

I'm ashamed that I support the same club as a lot of you.

"Kenny, get out and take your $120m signings with you."

Did you just ask the greatest man to ever don the red, to ever step on the hallowed Anfield turf, to leave the club?

Sickening stuff..

All true supporters can do at this point is gear up for the next one, because when the sun rises tomorrow, I'll still be a Red, through and through. And like the ink on my arm says, you'll never walk alone (as long as you deserve it)

That is the most idiotic post ever! No man has a right to manage LFC let alone one who breaks transfer spending records to deliver form worse than the previous manager who was sacked for poor performance.

I love Kenny but he is making a mess of the club.

TIME TO GO

So we aren't true supporters if we think Kenny is not up to the job and because youv'e got a tatoo?

What do you expect, we just lost to WIGAN at home!

Gerrard is the greatest man to ever wear red then Tommy then Kenny

Sorry I agree with the sentiment that Kenny is the best ever to wear the red, but tactically has proved he and his coaches are inept, and don't know when or how to change a game. 1 up front at home is a joke

Piss off masnuggles. If your happy with this sh1t then shame on you ya clueless fool. Get a grip and stop living on past glories.

I agree, how many would be calling his head as a player or player manager in 1990?

Times have changed since he last managed and it's not all Kennys fault. He is only doing what he is used to.

Dublad

Dont be delusional, because he did something good 20 years ago doesnt make him the right man now. Anyone else and it wouldn't be acceptable. You're the one who is sickening because you clearly don't want the club to progress. Theres a reason people get so angry. They want the team to WIN.

Well said Macsnuggles.
I love this team, no matter what, through thick or thin.
Its kind of like a marriage, it takes real commitmemt, belief, love, and a comprimising attitude.
LFC for life.
Shankly's Red Army.

I agree with you mate the name less wonders on here are not real supporters i dont want kenny to leave give him a chance to put it right but i fear fsg might not be so patient RED KENNY

I'm saying that he has earned your respect, but the question I posted actually further up the page (more recently)

..If Kenny leaves, who manages us? Who's available that will be our long-term future, that is willing to jump into our squad AS WE SPEAK, going into April.

Seriously, who?

McSnuggles

And of course I want the team to win, but I have more class than to throw my toys from the pram every time a result doesn't go our way!

McSnuggles

Throw toys out the pram? Are you for real? QPR, Wigan, home draw after home draw a narrow victory over a Championship side in the cup no one really cares for? Mate I love The Who but there last few albums were s**t should I hang my head in shame as a Who fan? I love Kenny. I am 39 and remember it all first time round and I was there! but he has proved that unfortunately he is not up for the job and his purchases have mostly been poor. Did you back Woy with the same gusto?

we need to protest, we are showing relegation form, get pack up ur rubbish and get out of our club now you fool

The fact that you just referred to Kenny Dalglish as a "fool" makes every single point you will EVER put forth on this site invalid, but I guess that wouldn't matter to a nameless tosser.

Hi Eds and Reds

posted this a few months back and got slated on here..i wonder have attitudes now changed....

Hi Ed's and Reds

I just want to say..I feckin love Liverpool..my club means everything to me and has done for the past 34 years..but i will never be called a non supporter because i dare speak my mind against KK..In my book he is JUST another manager of our great club..I am well aware of his history and what he has done for us..but lets be honest..he has done very little of note since Blackburn..and since then the game has moved on dramatically..very few foreign players(all mainly British)and no big money CL to try and get into..If KK had applied for another big clubs managerial position does anyone really on here think he would have got the job..ask yourselves this...because the answer is no..he got the job because we wanted him in..to lift and change the spirit and attitude at our club..and a job he done very well..but this is now..hes been given money too take us onward and upward..and to be honest i think it might be beyond him..i just fear the game has changed more than he thinks it has.

atlfc70

The game has not changed. There is a ball, you get it, you keep it, you put it in the other team's onion bag - in the mean time you do not let them put it in your onion bag. Under our previous two managers we managed the first two (mostly) .....under KD we have progressed to perhaps the third point. This is progress.

I was sceptical at first with the KD appointment. Thought he may have been out too long and not impressed at Newcastle and Celtic. HOWEVER, he has brought back attractive footy and values at the club that have been lacking for a long time. Despite my earlier reservations and recent league results, I would like to see Kenny given more time to turn this around........we are a big ship after all. We cannot expect to get this right in one year with a major squad overhall!

Here it comes again kenny out Carroll shot. Yes that was a terrible performance yes they showed no commitment, but there is no but, that was shocking kuyt, hendo I don't get it. Bring aqua man back at least he can pass it

24 Mar 2012 17:21:50
I never thought that I would say "Fire Kenny!" But, alas, it is time. He needs to go. This is unacceptable.

Putting the game aside...
what do you guys think about our youngsters Shelvey, Sterling, and Flanagan?
Personally I think Flanagan played did well today, might as well be our best player on the pitch today. Shelvey didn't seem to get much of the ball today but Sterling's debut is quite good, he's got lighting pace as to what I have seen in this game. He should be able to rip apart most PL defenders with his pace I think. What do you guys think?

Flanagan played fairly well , but gave away a needless free-kick that led to their winner ,carra was half asleep for that goal , now Shelvey was in my opinion our best offensive player when he came on , compare his game to hendos , sterling 10 min were better than some players 90 mins , I reckon he will be our star player in years to come , def give him more game time ,

24 Mar 2012 17:17:04
Embarrassing, thats all I can say. I've been saying all season, stick by Kenny, give him another season but that was awful. We played a team bottom of the league and created hardly any clear cut chances. Wigan looked comfortable on the ball and passed it better than us. We should be beating these sides 3, 4, 5-0. They are a championship quality side. Kenny will always be a legend and I really hope we turn this around with him in charge but am losing patiance. we're 6 points off 14th place. I'll back the players all the way and never turn on them but if I'm honest with myself when we made all those signings in the summer none of them I really wanted us to sign. I've been surprised by Enrique which was a brilliant signing but the rest are just average players and with average players you get a average side. we never addressed the lack of pace in are side exspecially down the right hand side. We need a out/out winger. The best player was Sterling when he came on. I feel the side is no better than last season's, we got rid of dead wood and never replace with quality players. Saurez and enrique cost about 30m so we've wasted 70m. I'm not one to shout manager out after every poor result but just feel so gutted how we have declined in the last 3 seasons.

Enrique is ok no more he is starting to look like he looked like at newcastle just before we bought him he is great going forward but gets caught too often at the back

24 Mar 2012 17:16:35
Will Rafa return?

Nope, rather Kenny any day
Invernesian

Hope so but Some deluded fans don't Want him back, why is beyond me. Maybe they are happy with kennys 1980's tactics?
Lpoolkris

The tactics re 'LFC tactics' - not owned by any one era .

If you don't like 'LFC tactics' , go and support someone else .

Qwerty

Rafa's tactics got us 7th in 2009/10, or have you already forgotten? Singred

Rafa back

So you want a conveyor belt of average players passing through the club

And while rafa is at it let him buy some expenisve Itals that are not suited to the EPL that will take us back to the big time

As we have seen with Kenny going back is not the answer, a fresh approach is required

{Ed005's Note - Rafa had his hands tied. When you are going to spend say £6m on a player you won't get a world class star. When Rafa got big money to buy players we ended up with Mascherano, Alonso, Torres, Johnson (great under Rafa) and not Carroll, Henderson and Downing. But everyone has their own opinion.}

Was Rafa hands tied for aquaman?

I don't think so, do you?

Yes they were, he was not given the alonso money to spend and Roma said we could pay I think it was 3million a season so that's one of the reasons we signed him

What a load of old bull, but you go on believing

24 Mar 2012 17:16:25
what really pisses me off is that when the big games come round, the players and the fans are always so up for it, but when we play these 'lower teams' no'one is up for it whatsoever, why do you think that is ed?

They don't care simple as that
There is a definite problem and we need to sort it out quickly, no matter what it is

24 Mar 2012 17:15:24
Hope Sterling is on the bench next week as well. I feel bad for players like Gerrard, Suarez, and Enrique who are let down by their team every week. Don't understand how Coates didn't earn a starting place ahead of Carragher given his efforts in midweek.

What do you mean you feel bad for Gerrard? His performance today was shocking!

Enrique has been shocking the last few games and as I keep saying he thinks skill and dribbling wise that he is messi
Stevie has been trash the last few games and Suarez was out for 9 games
I feel sorry for no-one only us fans who have to sit through it every game

24 Mar 2012 17:14:52
Leave kenny, before you get sacked

Dont go kenny every other club loves you..

24 Mar 2012 17:14:42
I don't care what other posters say about this. BRING RAFA BACK NOW.

Rafa with 100mil to spend, Liverpool to win the prem with ease, got to better then this poo now, I respect kenny but his tactics just don't cut in 2012!
Lpoolkris

Rafa already spent 100mil infact you can double that and we still didnt win the league

24 Mar 2012 17:14:33
Get out kenny and take your 120m of shambles signings with you

24 Mar 2012 17:14:32
Where are all those self-proclaimed "true supporters" with their bollox of "work in progress"?

Here's one.

You want to try it sometime instead of constantly moaning and slagging of the team you profess to support, we have Agger, Kelly, Johnson, Lucas, Bellamy injured, great kids coming through and we just won our first trophy for six years.

MR EM

If yo can't support the club thrrough the dark times , do not support the club at all .

Right here - but this will be the last time I respond to nameless posters. I hate talking to WUMs like you. Singred

I'm thinking the same they should be here by now telling us to support some1 else fact is... We've bin turned into a average team... AVB got sacked and he had Chelsea above us...the onli manager that will Kim is rafa n he can take us up if he gets the funds

24 Mar 2012 17:14:21
Hi eds,
Now champions league football is out of question and with European football already, for the next up and coming games the youngsters should be given a chance. Surely they're not going to be any worse than Hendo, Caroll and Adam. With the fa cup game soon we could find a youth player stake his claim for a start.

24 Mar 2012 17:14:09
Hodgson now has a better record than dalglish, please p155 off kenny, cant stand your rubbish anymore

The LFC players had no respect for Hodgson

24 Mar 2012 17:13:55
well done to wigan..

24 Mar 2012 17:13:41
Clueless, gutless, useless. Perfect opportunity to show Wed night was an blip. Perfect chance to show all the people giving us stick that we are a decent side, and this is what we get ?. Seriously ?.
Everyone associated with that performance should hang their heads in utter shame. Bar 1 or 2 players, Wigan and QPR are championship teams with championship players - and we've got 0pts and conceded 5 goals in 2 games against them.
If that's an exceptional squad, i'd hate to see an ordinary one full of hiders and shirkers.., oh hang on...

24 Mar 2012 17:13:30
King ? Dont think so, get out of our club you imposter

How Sickenly

24 Mar 2012 17:13:11
This is possibly the worst performance I have witnessed, and as for the squad, is it really any better than 18 months ago? Carra past it, Skrtel had a mare, Enrique has not performed since Xmas, Reina is having his worst loss of form since being here, Kuyt gives 100% work rate but no product, Spearing flatters to deceive, Downing has just not settled, Stevie is out of sorts, Hendo is not a finished product, and Luis can't do it on his own. Carroll does not get enough game time, and Flanno, Shelvey and Sterling were only on because of injuries. We are just not good enough, where next I have no idea?

Terrible post. I am not even going to explain why.

BthekingB

Btheking your a fool. The original poster was spot on.

I will reply to my own post, who out there today would get in to any of the top 4 teams apart from Stevie and Luis, none, so what does that tell ya. Enough said

24 Mar 2012 17:12:55
Well, i'm dreading Monday now ! Time for KK to go now but I've been one of a few saying this since February. I'm afraid you justify losing at home to a team in 19th place. We are Liverpool FC and this isn't good enough for us. One of our motto's is "Never accept second best", we should not settle for 7th (Could be lower by end of the season) and the Carling Cup (plus possible F.A Cup). Kenny is a legend and will always stay that way for as long as there's a LFC but it's now time for him to go. I'm a little tired of people on here backing him due to his status, as Kenny himself said "No one is bigger than the club". Thanks for the memories Kenny but I feel he has just 8 league games left at Liverpool.

Hans

24 Mar 2012 17:12:53
Another disappointing game, another sloppy loss.
I'm struggling to come to terms with what's happened over the past 3 days. We've conceded 5 goals against Q.P.R and Wigan. When in both we should of been able to win.
Suarez took his goal brillianty and Sterling looked really good when he came on. They were the only two who would properly run at defenders and actually put fear into them! Enrique had a few good runs but his final ball was poor. Having said that, i do think he's been one of our better players.
For the 2nd Wigan goal, it was Carrol who attempted to block it (even if it was lucky how it fell to their feet) but Carra was too busy appealling.
I have all the faith that we'll come out of this bad spell and i will always stick by our beloved team but some questions do need to by asked.
I just hope F.S.G make some changes soon and don't just sit back. If Kenny is the man for the job, he needs to make some changes. Whether it's the squad or even by attempting to instill some belief in the team, something needs to change.

To be beaten by 2 clubs who will probably be religated is painful....weren't Wets Ham relegated with 42 points...maybe we will be the 3rd to go down..don't bet against it.

24 Mar 2012 17:12:22
Downing ,henderson kuyt nd spearing were awful nd sterling created 2 chances in 5 touches..i would start him nd relegate others to reserves..atleast we will know if youngsters are any good...kenny time is running out...

Kenny and Steve Clarke were at Wigan last week, you'd wonder what notes they took?
Wigan had loads of chances last week but di Santo couldn't get on the end of them

Wigan score in 67 minute and LFC still couldn't equalize

Today, Sunderland had no problem beating QPR 3-1

24 Mar 2012 17:11:49
Oh yeah now I see why Carroll should have started....or not!

If we'd beat QPR on wednesday and Wigan today we would be 2 points off Chelsea, 7 points off Spurs and have a realistic chance of top 4. I'm sure Kenny would be being viewed in a totally different light today. A week in football!!!

Ozone

But we didn't.

I'm not anti Dalglish, but there is no point in going over all the 'what ifs'

davethebutcher

If! But we didn't and that's been the story of our season. No more if's and but's, we're just not good enough. Oh sorry i nearly forgot, we've made progress.

24 Mar 2012 17:11:13
BBC - To paint the reality of Liverpool's situation this season in facts: today's defeat to Wigan sees them lose two Premier League matches at Anfield in the same calendar month for just the third time, after January 2005 and September 1999. The Reds have won just five of their 15 home league matches so far this season, which is their fewest in the top-flight at this stage since 1953/1954, when they had also won five. Thanks for the good times Kenny but you shouldnt have a single penny to spend in the summer. Awful signings. El Pistolero

24 Mar 2012 17:10:35
We spent the summer last year offloading all the deadwood and now we have to spend this summer doing exactly the same. They are all s**t. Carragher, henderson, downing, spearing, caroll, reina even gerrard is starting to show his age. Kenny and clarke need sacking asap. The players dont know how to play together because kenny keeps changing formation. We are a joke and the whole world is laughing at us. Im fed up looking at this sh1t every week. Big changes needed and another year in transition next year. I dont claim to have the answers to our problems but this i do know kenny doesn't know either and that is what he is paid a lot of our money for. God help us.

Really pissed off

Dalglish out...Far too many poor performances. Disgusting that today embarrassing

I'm sorry, but we finished 7th last year.
This year, we could finish 7th, win the carling cup, and maybe the F.A. Cup.
Progress, my dear friend, progress.
whilst I'll agree, we havn't been spectacular this season, we have a much better team than last season, and he's doing better than woy.

I think KK should step down before being shown to the door by the owners.

There is nothing to suggest Kenny Dalglish will not fulfil the 3 year contract the owners gave him .

Qwerty

24 Mar 2012 17:10:05
If Dalglish is not to blame, then it's obviously down to the players. If this is the case, then it's either, the players aren't good enough, some of them are Dalglish buys, or, the players are not responding to him, which can only mean one thing. TIME TO GO KD.

24 Mar 2012 17:09:56
I dont think fans have to call for Kennys head. He is digging his own grave.
Hell be long gone by the end of the seasons. Was never going to work for him, out of the game to long. Great player but not a manager.
Raffa back ASAP.

Rafa back?? Have you forgot why the squad was that bad in the first place!!

Yeah yeah we lost blah blah blah but can someone please tell me why Henderson gets a starting place ahead of Shelvey. Shelvey has more on Hendo. Sterling looked good.

Depressed but encouraged red (cause kk looks like he is going to go)

Lost for words!

I adore Kenny and will never question his desire or love for Liverpool. I don't want to see or hear hatred for Kenny, it is not necessary, and he will know that it is not good enough. He will be hurting as much as anybody today......

I believe he will know in his heart if he can or can't turn this around, and will come to a decision that is best for LFC, probably at the end of the season.

100m wasted on heartless wasters, dalglish hasnt got a clue about formations, tactics or pride, get him out of our once great club. he is a joke

24 Mar 2012 17:06:44
never mind how bad we have been this season. if we had won are last 2 games which was very possible, we would be 2 points behind chelsea. 7 behind spurs, would of been a great fight for forth. we would of been better off not spending so much money in summer and played some promising youngsters who want to succeed...

24 Mar 2012 17:06:12
Kenny is the worst manager ive seen in the last 10 years he should be sacked in the next few hours

24 Mar 2012 17:06:01
This season is getting tough to take.Fair enough,we've won the Carling Cup, but lads & lasses, we're Liverpool!! one of the two greatest football club on these shores, the other being Man Utd. We should be looking at a top 3 league position at least. This is not good enough, & mark my words S'land & maybe Everton are going to be above us at the end at this rate.

I never thought that I would say this, but I really hope that Kenny moves aside over the summer. I hope that he tells the board now so that we can get somebody in place as soon as the season ends.

I think this is what most likely would happen. But I dont think Kenny will stay at the club, he will leave altogether.
Roy

Who should take over then I believe that this job like the Chelsea job is incapable of being fulfilled properly maybe it's impossible

In the summer? More like right now!

Come on, he keeps changing formations and players week in week out. There is no consistancy and it's seriously damaging our results.

24 Mar 2012 17:05:16
We are the laughing stock of the football world, Thanks a lot 'king' kenny.

Its alright, you will beat newcastle when you go up there, then its not to bad!!

24 Mar 2012 17:05:12
The only thing to come out of today is that Raheem made his debut, The players are letting Kenny down badly. They should all be ashamed of themselves.

Sooty

Kenny is letting the players down by playing 1 forward who isnt even an proper forward at home against the worst team in the league. And we wonder why we cant score?

I am a big Kenny fan, but you have to admit he got it very wrong today, if you have lost 4 of your last 5, you make sure your strongest team is out there (including sub), even if its against a supposedly much weaker team, and he should made sure of a win.

I am 64 years old, watched my 1st game at Anfield 1963. Went to every home home and many away games from then till 1999. Emigrated to South Africa in 1999. This is totally unacceptable! Losing to Wigan and QPR. What is going on! This is not Liverpool FC. Lost5 or last 6 games. Big changes need to be made SOON. We are now a mid-table team-- thats it. I am devestated. Love Liverpool , hate whats going on.

This is a long term project. remember how spurs were a midtable team ? remember how poor barca were during the early 2000's one season they finished 6th ithink it was 2003. we are building and we are making progress. the foundations are there. our squad is good but squad must be added to in wings and up front. thing will look up cheers.
derryred

Long term project. im normally very reserved, paitent and calm, but for f's sake, lost to wigan and qpr in a row, 5 out of the last 6, questions need to be answered a bout the players and coaches, im feeling sorry for the fans paying top money to see the average performances at anfiel this season.

love liverpool till i dide so i dont want to ever see them in a bad shape. long term progression, transformation, watever u want to call it, has to turn around,

Fellow Liverpool fans

If any other manager in the world was in charge right now and not kenny, Would you be asking for him to be sacked ? Of course you would, It is beyond a joke at this stage. He needs to go.

And if we win the double and sack kenny what manager would want to manage our team. stop being united fans here. it is a 3 year project. in our first year we can win the double! get behind the team and the coach

24 Mar 2012 17:04:32
They have problems, that's very clear. Short on confidence at the moment, not helped by a shaky defence. Still some positives: Suarez worked his socks off and Sterling looks really good on his debut. Should let him have a go for the rest of the season. Anyway onwards & upwards the Reds! Singred

24 Mar 2012 17:04:21

24 Mar 2012 17:04:16
We get a free kick-you may as well give the opposing Goalie a goal kick
We get a corner-you may as well give the opposing Goalie a goal kick
I love my club and because of that I would like Kenny to do the decent thing LFC style and move upstairs get Rafa back until the end of the season or even Gerrard/Carragher and then pull out all the stops (his club recently said he was going nowhere) to get the man who can change things around-Jurgen Klopp

Rafa YES - Gerrard/Carragher NO - I'm not waiting while they learn how to do it!

I agree but it highlights the desperation maybe even Pep

24 Mar 2012 17:04:14
despite the match i am still optimistic for our youngsters will learn from this defeat it is a well known fact that to become a great you have to take a stuffin or two. sterling looked dangerous when he came on shelvey didn't make a massive impact but he is another boy for the future. flanno will learn from this. would've liked to see coates though, he should be given match time now that we don't have anything to play for. coady may get a run out in a while as may ecclestone. don't expect to see suso or morgan this year. this season is done it is about next year now(xcept an fa cup semi and a final). dagleish is the right man for the job. so thats my view but here we go roll on the haters

Yes he is the football is good. this was a 3 year project and next seasons window will see better players brought in to improve our squad. if we don't see significant improvement come the end of next years season then i will say we need a new manager, but now you are willing to press the button too quickly and we will have to start from scratch again with a new manager.

Absolutely woeful.

Last 20 games for Liverpool:
Dalglish avg 1.20pts (6 wins)
Hodgson avg 1.25pt (7 wins)

The real proof is that if Carroll, Henderson, Downing & Adam were to leave in the morning, we wouldn't miss them.

Kuyt, Carragher, Maxi, Johnson & Reina will all probably go in the Summer too. Big rebuild needed.

-Shane.

Let them all go. They are all sh1t players anyway. Even reina has been terrible this season.

Kenny should be sacked after this f**k the carling cup he can take that with him

24 Mar 2012 17:01:09
Not good but
Unite when you
"walk through a storm"

Only thing I want is Saurez Carroll and Downing to play 3 consecutive games, then judge.

Pistol Pete

Tell Kenny that.

And be sure to 'unite' over the correct decision on what is to be done.

Come on Eds, surely you must be thinking it's time for kenny to go!

4-5-1 at Anfield, his losing the plot.

Look forward to your thoughts

24 Mar 2012 17:00:14
when is enough enough he may be a legend but no one is bigger than the club

24 Mar 2012 17:00:07
Sterling got 5 minutes to prove himself by dancing pas 11 wigan players who all stayed in their own half after scoring...poor lad couldn't have done something now...Kenny will now come out and say we fought till the very ending we won't give up on 4th and look we have the Mickey mouse cup and in semifinal of fa cup and Kenny lovers will call that progress and people like me won't know whether we should cry or laugh seeing our performance

24 Mar 2012 17:00:06
ed alls i wana say is if this was (woy) or any other manager in charge they would be calling for his head is kenny really yhe man to take are great team forward????? great to see sterling come on looks like a gem an deserved a chance in the first team

24 Mar 2012 17:00:00
i've never seen a liverpool side play so poorly, disgrace

I have seen plenty of LFC teams play worse during the Premier League years , at least this team is going in the right direction .

Bring on next season as Cup double winners .

24 Mar 2012 16:59:53
I'll say it again. Hoping for top 10 this year. Really embarassed (also) by todays performance. Disgrace.. Barcelona game up soon, can't wait to watch some good football.

The best thing about the match today for me was Sterling coming on.

The Crow

And he wants to go to chelsea

24 Mar 2012 16:59:12
I think that John Henry will fire Kenny at the end of the season because he needs the club to be in the Champions League as soon as possible. Shame really if it does come about, Kenny gave us good football its just not gone our way this season.

24 Mar 2012 16:58:44
Absolutely unbelievable...our days r so bad we are getting beat by relegation teams...kenny,Carroll,Henderson,downing have to go they've had 2 many chances...

24 Mar 2012 16:58:18
we can still get top 4 lads. its still mathematically possible. lol

Please tell me you have had lots of beer and can only just type, but not think.

Get a grip man that bus left along time ago.

At the moment I would be more worried about Everton and Sunderland than the top 4 that you have NO CHANCE of achieving.

Go to bed and have a rest and you will see in the morning what sh""e that post was.

24 Mar 2012 16:57:59
Beyond embarassing now!

Love kk but this is awful qpr wigan . Paisley is turning in his grave. Time for a rethink relagation form

100 million andno progress anyone else would be away

24 Mar 2012 16:57:36
Progression yeah?

Go support united

No, I support Liverpool and our current for is not good enough and if you're happy with the team under performing then you go support Wigan, that showing was not good enough and I think some fans who are too soft on their team are the root of the problem I've been patient all season but our recent performances are an insult to us the fans.

Yes you can't win them all but the players just didn't want it apart from I'd say Suarez. Pathetic.

I would start living in the real world mate, if you think we are progressing you are much deluded, that today was a disgrace, 1 up front at home to the bottom club you are having a laugh.

'Go support united'

Get a hukcin grip, we were shocking today and people should be able to vent, if they want, without being told to support other teams. Bob.

It was the players who undrperformed not the manager. enough our football has been good this year we are just in poor form atm

Did more than kuyt did in the 5 mins he got.
Did you see his jinx? Skrtel was so surprised he reacted so late.
And all his deliveries ultimately failed considering no one was in the box for them!

Kenny Dalglish's position at Liverpool is now untenable. It's gone too far, too many poor tactical decisions by the man.

24 Mar 2012 16:54:20
wen do we kops think its enuf and time to let kenny dalglish go i just hope we dont realize it wen its to late wat do u think eds

24 Mar 2012 16:52:46
I've had a sign. My texts on teams and scores for lfc games failed to tell me anything about today.......hope they fail to charge me as well! How can we fail to beat Wigan at home? Players to blame in my view. They are capable enough to win these games and do not. QPR game is a game in point. 2-0 up with 10 mins to go shocking! I was doubtful of KD as manager but still support him. He has brought our club respect again, brought attractive footy back to the team and we are generally in a better lalce than last under RH. Still, words fail me if we fail to beat Wigan........

Iggypop

Attractive football I'd rather win scrappy 1-0 every week then play well and lose

24 Mar 2012 16:52:17
You have got to question the ability of our apparent first team when our youth players are the ones who are showing any signs of positive play... Kenny will always be an anfield legend but he needs to accept its not going for him and allow someone else to Take the reigns.

I thought that aswel, seems rather deperate to me, the lad looked good tho

24 mar 2012 16:51:27
you people never listen when a wise man speaks. i told you once and i told you twice and you all shot me down, mocked me and told me i was being "negative". no i was being real and you guys should try it sometimes. kenny is not fit to manage this club, not even close...why is it you have to wait until we're this low before you realise he aint ready. benitez or mourinho are the only way forward, the only way. there 's no other manager who would realistically come that is world class. they are the only risk-free options.

leo

If you want a new manager in, then the scouse mafia have to go too. Fresh start all round, but be careful what you wish for.

I agree !! Name any top managers who would come ! There's only one ! He lives here , loves the club , the people , understands the people and club and would do if for nothing !!
Rafas warriors !!!

Beniez is the way foreward is he. our club is still recovering from his final year here or do you only have a 2 second memory. dagliesh is a good manager. one month doesnt make a season. if we win the double will you call for him to be sacked? phase one of his 3 year plan is nearly completed and i do see an improvement both in performances and on paper. dont like it go support united. rant over.
derryred

You people are so short sighted. Benitez had NO MONEY and had to buy cheap AVERAGE players...thats why our squad was full of rubbish when he left. Also Benitez had to deal with boardroom politics and arguments with Rick Parry and all that nonsense...it all took its toll in his last season. Benitez OVERACHIEVED when he managed us...I hope you all now realise how world class he was. He loves this club with all his heart, is the best tactician in the world and his judgement on players is excellent. He tried to bring is many world class players such as silva, stam and c.ronaldo but many factors attibuted to them not coming. Benitez is truly world class and with financial support from the board we would be challenging for league under him. Dalglish cannot lace his boots...he is so rubbish I just dont understand what u guys are smoking.

24 Mar 2012 16:50:04

Yes nearly 30 pts behind man u progress?

Kenny should resign

24 Mar 2012 16:45:06
Steve Clarke out!

Bring kenny with him

And carragher

It should be Carra out. He's having to much say, just like JT at Chelsea,Whenever he plays we concede goals. As for Spearing chasing around the middle of the park waving his hands, and playing like a crab when he gets it.Lets face it there are players in our squad who are living on there birthplace rather than their ability with football.Jay and Jamie are average.I know they are not the only average players we have, but these 2 are hyped up so much it makes me sick.

24 Mar 2012 16:43:44
Waiting for the post match press conference.
Kenny will undoubtedly praise the lads "for their brilliant efforts in trying to get the match back on track" and will "promise to keep pushing and working hard" because according to him "everyone at the club deserves their place and any player who they sign will have to be one hell of a guy."

PITSILFC

Yeah, and gt ready for more hard luck stories too

Come on now, I believe kenny when he say we can get the top 4 still.
The team above my still yet go into admin lol.

I believe we will be the squad can be a championship winning team. In the championship that is.

24 Mar 2012 16:43:33
I'm not surprised payers have nothing to play for but puts manager in trouble.

24 Mar 2012 16:42:55
At the start of the season John Henry gave KD his objective for the season it was as follows

Finish in the top 4, KD has failed miserably and the players know that. The cup win was good but did nothing but cover the cracks in KD overall poor management this season.

Therefore KD has failed and although still a legend, he should do the decent thing and resign. The players have now given up on the top 4 and also given up on KD.

Curled1

Why were u in the meeting when John Henry said this.

24 Mar 2012 16:42:17
we are a laughing stock, new manager and new players needed! i didnt think it could of got worse wehn we were under hodgson but this is shocking

24 Mar 2012 16:39:24
Roy in his short carreer at Anfield won 7 premier league games. That was 20 games.

In 30 games this season Kenny has managed 11 premier league wins.

Kennys position is no longer tenable! He has wasted millions to achieve nothing. Rewatch the Carling Cup we were humiliated.

It is now

TIME TO GO

24 Mar 2012 16:38:12
Rafa must be smiling big..media were after his life for playing kuyt on right..now kenny plays him on left as a winger..and just when you thought kenny has done. Enough wrong he takes off downing who is our 1 natural winger and can cross for carrol..
Brilliant kenny..just brilliant..

24 Mar 2012 16:37:54
As of now we r 3 points ahead of a team which was in the championship last year and 2 points ahead of everyone and sunderland and by the look of us playing I wouldn't be totally surprised if we ended up below 7th or even below 8th and if the kenny lovers tell me we have made progress...please if u call this progress go support wigan....for the performance in the match so far our best winger who is the most capable player tomput in a good cross, downing that is playing mostly through the middle...really wigan have been the better team apart from the 1st 10 mins of the 2nd half we have been crap....Kenny has been a tremendous servant to the club but I really think he should leave next summer he has done his job for the time being helped us to Europe and got us away from the relegation from last year. He should step down and give the reins to someone younger who will stay with the club for a long time

24 Mar 2012 16:37:38
I support Kenny and I still believe he can be the man to take us back to glory. However to do it he MUST admit that he got it wrong with some of his signings and get them out and look for some foreign talent because quite simply most British players are a million miles behind in terms of technique
Nothing to be lost now in bringing the kids on either

24 Mar 2012 16:37:35
Time to go kenny. We have turned into a bring side. This is the last straw. We just about beat Cardiff on pens. He needs to go.

24 Mar 2012 16:36:05
Omg take kuyt off...he is not playing well at all.

Tekneek

I wish I could hit agree a billion times. This should also be a standard comment every game!!!
Jason

Ed001 probably thought he was great - he plays his best football for Holland of the left eh ed? lol.

Seriously though....

It hurt.

Sterling, Flanagan & Shelvey deserve credit though. They showed some heart and ability.

As for the result.

Nothing we (well, some of us) didn't know already. It's all been said before.

Changes needed.

BJH YNWA. (wish I could hit agree two billion times) {Ed001's Note - petty little dig for something I have never said. Sad that you think that you failed to understand my point all along. My point was that he can play well there, when he doesn't then it is not down to him not being able to play there like you were claiming. But obviously that went over your head because you were far too busy assuming that you know more.}

Come on now...

I clearly do know (a little at least!) more than you give me credit for ed001.

I think you too may be realising that all really is not going as well as [we had both] thought earlier in the season - also, that the problems I mentioned are real, and that my comments were not kneejerk, but were considered opinions. This has been going on for a while now.

I had little faith in our chances today once I realised how the team lined out.

I wasn't afraid to say so either, or to name my posts - even though we were at home to the team bottom of the league.

I risked ridicule openly - because I truly believed in what I was saying.

Sadly, judging by the responses today - there really is little left to defend KK with. He doesn't seem aware of the flaws that are evident to many of us, or where his players best positions are.. and there's all the other stuff I brought up too....

When I said I fear we will finish 10th or lower if we continue playing this way - I wasn't kidding.

Now he's saying the squad isn't big enough - and that they're tired - this is only 5-6 weeks after KK declared himself very happy with the size of the squad and said that no additions were needed..... Oh dear..... and claiming the disallowed goal should have stood... oh dear! No Kenny - it shouldn't have...

Whatever though. Lets just let it go - I'm too sickened to get involved in rows/debates like this again tbh.

Ed001, don't take my comments so to heart.

We're all hurting ed - Our little back and forth was just a bit of banter/debate where two opinionated people who both love LFC were both standing their ground - it's all cool as far as I'm concerned.

I'm sure if Kuyt played a blinder and scored a goal or two, you'd be having a little dig at me too - and in all honesty -

I wouldn't blame you either!

You'd be entitled to feed me my humble pie... It's all fair game and just a bit of craic -

To our credit, neither of us reduced ourselves to trading expletives etc - it wasn't so bad. There's no need to become sworn enemies over our views!

We're all LFC fans ed, it's been a sad day.

I need a hug.... and you probably do too...

So come here big guy!!

(If you'll have me!)

BJH YNWA.

ps - Fair play to Wigan though ed - we may have been poor, but they really did play well - all credit too them.

pps - Expect posts of a lesser length from me this week ed - I have little more to add tbh - and keep up the good work.

ppps - If I try really, really hard to be optimistic:

It's not all a total loss.

An FA Cup final perhaps? And Guaranteed European football next year.

Think of a shiny new season, starting with a clean slate, some shiny new players - the kids a year older and a year wiser - (perhaps) a shiny new manager too - one who can get the best out of the players - no need for the cull of the playing staff that some are suggesting - not at all.

Giving us European football will likely be Kenny's parting gift to us.

Even if the league season was/has been disappointing - European football is a good gift for whoever replaces him. If it wasn't for the league cup win - this season would really be f*cking disaster!

Good luck ed, eds. {Ed001's Note - I never gloat, I wouldn't have mentioned it unless you had, gloating just comes back to bite you and I can't be bothered with it. We have enough to put up with from idiots looking for reasons to dig at us as it is.}

24 Mar 2012 16:35:42
Is it just me or is this worse than Hodgson?

24 Mar 2012 16:34:28
We're all over the place at the back and it's no coincidence that Carra is back at the centre of defence. He's been a great servant but 5 goals in less than two games is evidence that he isn't even a good squad player anymore. sorry Carra you need to recognise your playing days are over.

24 Mar 2012 16:32:09
To hell with the result - get Sterling and Eccleston on now - Suarez is the only attacker interested!
DM2012

24 Mar 2012 16:32:02
Aimless defence with fruitless attacking, What has happentd to the liverpool team of old. How can we be losing to Wigan? some serious questions have to be asked now.

24 Mar 2012 16:31:35
Has Kenny taken us as far as he can, despite winning the League Cup?

I think so.

24 Mar 2012 16:30:35
Kenny will be going at the end of the season. 100% fact. Even if we win the FA cup aswell.

24 Mar 2012 16:29:30
Can someone tell me what we achieved last summer in the transfer market did we strengthen the team? Does Kenny need more time more money? We righty got rid of Roy but this is now worse than Roy and he didnt blow the budget. Can anyone defend Kennys position? I am not looking for an emotional argument, I know what Kenny did for the families I know LFC flows in his blood and he loves the club HOWEVER he is not the man to rebuild this club he is moving us backwards. He has to know the fans must know the owners must know it is......

TIME TO GO

Never thought in a million years id be saying this but i am. Times up kenny. If he loves the club then he should resign. That was shocking and there is no excuses anymore.

Totally and utterly agree,I have been saying ALL season NO other team plays like us,too defensive, don't tackle, don't close down, play far TOO deep, not enough flowing football,we have been utter S---E ,we HAVE gone BACKWARDS and YES KENNY HAS TO GO SOONER rather than later

Alan50

It's getting harder and harder to stick with him. It took 10 minutes to react to Wigan putting an extra man in midfield to boss the game. It's just very, very strange. Nothing is working.

-Shane.

How on earth is this worse than when we had Roy in charge?
Think u better get your dosage checked mate

wow i was thinkin this referee was gonna be a w*nker from early on in this game. does he want us to lose?

24 Mar 2012 16:09:49
Rather anemic display thus far from both the supporters and the team, to be honest. If we don't want to play perhaps we should just forfeit? Least that's what I hope KK is telling the players. Someone really needs to light the fire, pretty dreadful stuff in the first half.

Atleast Kenny realized the error with Henderson at halftime. Carroll should have started. Not sure what Kenny is thinking all the time with Henderson.

24 Mar 2012 16:08:14
Yes! Suarez GET IN THERE! Hopefully we can start playing better now.

Tekneek

Apparently not....

24 Mar 2012 16:03:27
Swansea city have climbed from the championship to 8 in the league in a few months...now that's proper progress Kenny, your still a legend but it's time to go

24 Mar 2012 16:02:05
If we go on to lose this (which I hope not but judging by our form it's possible) we can't use the bad luck excuse again. We're just a poor team at the moment, we just have to admit that and figure out what's needed...which is probably another 7-8 good quality players.

There's a reason Downing performed brilliantly under O'Neill and not Kenny, that Carroll was excellent at Newcastle and not Liverpool, that Henderson showed great potential instead of panic, and that Adam was confident instead of scared. It's up to Kenny to find out what those reason's are.....but it's pretty impossible to fix 4 or 5 problems all at once.

-Shane.

I just dont understand why we allow teams time on the ball under benitez that wouldnt off happened!

secondly DOWNING the lad is to lightweight, Doesnt get a tackle in n looses the ball alot why keep playing him if he aint up to it? Hendersons putting himself about n ive been very critical against him this season but keep it up lad.

We need a goal so better put coates on see what he can pull out of the back lol sterling n eccleston should get a run out after the lack off chances we created in the first half saee what they can offer.

ACHILLES.

my goodness we are now being outplayed by wigan, i hope wigan doesnt start an unbeaten run by beating us

24 Mar 2012 15:57:25
what a load of rubbish, there is no confidence in the team. kuyt has done nothing worth mentioning, henderson why oh why is he playing, the omens dont look good for lfc at all, i honestly dont think kk has any answers to what is unfolding in front of him. we are actually making wigan look good. sorry but even if we do wini think the time has come for the owners to start looking for a new manager for the next season.

24 Mar 2012 15:56:22
Carragher should retire already. He's starting to hurt the Club more than helping it each time he plays.

HK

Shouldnt they know when their past it,and gracefully step down? Why oh why

Absolutely! He's become a fossil of a player. Slow, clumsy, clueless!

24 Mar 2012 15:56:20
Just no fluency in Liverpool play. Yes, I can understand there's nothing to play for between now and end of season in PL but if we lose again today, it'll shown how current players don't care except for their fat wages. KK needs to rethink his plans for the summer and bring in at least 3 quality players: right wing, striker and a creative midfielder. That's the minimum he can do if he's still around that is.

Sadly it looks like your right

We already hired our team of the future. Live with it.

24 Mar 2012 15:56:06
definate pen, tricky one with skrtels eyes on the ball not the player, moses head just got in the way ha.

pretty decent attack, alot of passes not reaching their intended player and first touches are pretty aweful at times

kenny better put a rocket up them at half time, especially hendo, just cant see any improvement at all, good volley towards the end, but its as if hes been cutting the oranges for half time cause he didnt do much in the first half.

suarez is a lone striker and needs some one as effective as he, gerrard is giving him great support but we need kuyt off and .... anyone on, give carrol and sterling a run, kuyt and hendo off.

how good in flanagan going, good play by the young fella.

Players are not inspired to play the league games the same for the crowd, it'll be like this the rest of the season.

Nothing to do with inspiration. They really aren't good players. I would have thought that was obvious by now.

24 Mar 2012 15:52:59
Come on lads! SORT IT OUT.

davethebutcher

Doesn't look like its going to happen

24 Mar 2012 15:52:22
The lack of quality is so apparent throughout the squad. Most of the lads lack composure on the ball and cannot even do the basics right.
Im actually beginning to accept the fact that the champions league is beyond us let alone the title! Next season will be much the same in all likelihood.

Too early to talk about Next season mate a lot can happen between now and then, we could have new players or even a new manager.

24 Mar 2012 15:51:32
Bad passing, kicking people in the nuts, handballs.. Hell yeah!

24 Mar 2012 15:49:51
Why downing is on right and kuyt on left..play them where they should play..oh I get it ..its kennys team..all things are alowed..and our 35M striker is not good enough to. Start against wigan??

They swap sides all game, numpty. try watching the match instead of looking for targets to whinge at

Clearly - they are there because Kenny thinks they can play there.

And if Kuyt stays central, then scores - no doubt in some twisted way, people will say that it vindicates him being on the left - unaware that he is only useful in central areas.

Good lord he's bad. Poor Kenny - he really meant it when he said he had no answers.

Lets hope we go 442 and give them a game.

Downing on the left, Henderson move right.

Suarez and Kuyt through the centre. Gerrard supporting.

I wouldn't object to changes either. Shocking, we look like we don't know what we are doing -- no shape, cohesion....terrible.

That Kenny doesn't seem to know what his players best positions are is crazily frustrating now.

"Fading into oblivion" - I just heard the commentator say about our season.

I hope we win - playing 442 - but even if we do, Kenny will just revert to the same nonsense - it's being going on since the new year.

Sad, nut true.

BJH YNWA.

Downing playing well I think

And those two swapping sides is a good thing?

I see...........

Same rubbish from liverpool just a different weekend not enough players getting in the box. Ref is useless too. He is quick too give wigan everything and nothing for us.

Was it a penalty? Sounds like a poor decision from what I can gather.

It was

Yes it was a clear penalty

Skrtel kicked Moses in the head in front of goal. Not only a penalty, probably a red card. {Ed001's Note - hardly, he wasn't looking at the player, it was not deliberate and Kuyt and Gerrard have both been kicked in the head by Wigan players during the match too. Neither of those were given as cards.}

What a fk8n shambles!!!!! carroll shud be starting!!

You are joking right? Based on what?

Chris in Tamworth

No hes right Chris we all now you dont like him get over your self, why change to a 433 and drop the big man. Hes gtting games and getting better then dropped what would that do to your confidence. Its KK that needs to take a good look at himself. I feel if we get beat today he has to resign tnrw. IN KK I DONT TRUST

Scottybhoy1888

Based on the fact we're at home and he's our only striker Chris! Henderson is a complete waste of a space.
Jason

Based on the fact that he is a striker

Probably based on the fact Luis is too isolated up front on his own!!
LeeWils

Oh sorry I thought the job of a striker was to score goals, do you want to tell me when he suddenly found this "form" and if he's had it how come still no goals?
Nothing to do with me not liking him if he plays I'm behind him but there has to be a reason KK isn't picking him

First 20 mins as expected. Not even a glimpse of goal. However, we finally have something to look forward to: a cameO for Sterling!

Good to see Sterling and Eccleston on the bench for todays game. Hopefully we can establish a comfortable lead by the second half so that there's more chance of them getting game time

I think it is mild form of epilepsy that Didi Hamann in that way .

Tim Howard the Everton goalkeeper does the same thing , and sites epilepsy as the cause .

Hi ed, great site, Ecclestone is on the bench today, is it because of injurys or do the management think he has a genuine chance of making the grade, nice to see Sterling getting a chance

Andy O {Ed001's Note - it is because it is hoped he will get the chance to prove he can be good enough, against one of the weaker Prem teams.}

obviously dont know exactly what has happened with the sterling talking to the media about needing a first team spot, i dont think anyone really does.. but ive watched him a few times and he is a great young talent, his size is my only concern, but if carrol can get pushed off the ball so easily. then give this guy a go, just hope his selection has been earned and not come about with being a sook.

come on you reds, just need a win, who cares how it comes about. 1-0 or 10-0 who cares... 3 points please!! cant go through another qpr game... not sober anyway!

When Kenny returned he was forced by necessity to play young, hungry lads like Flanno, Robinson, Spearing and we went on a great unbeaten run. He them spent a lot of money and the young lads were returned to the shadows. Now is the time for Kenny to have courage and replace the underperforming big money purchases with young lads like Morgan, Sterling, Flanno, Robinson etc. With no chance of 4th spot let's give 'em some experience.

Well, Suso missed mostly on ur list. he is among the best in the academy. He and Sterling of our current academy lads can be great. Well, wish Sterling would come of the bench today. Would be great to see him. Plenty of talent in the academy. Wish they'd get their chances. YNWA

HI EDS
i just wondering what you think about dalglish
in the cups we are doing well but surely his aim from the board would have been to get top 4

i love kenny he is my footballing idol.
and everytime i think he is turning it around
we then get beat by silly teams

i dont know who it is who buys the players
normally it be the manager.

but players like henderson carrol downing adam
ok we get money back on adam proberly and downing has been doing ok of late.

but the question is do you think the board will replace kenny at end of season even if we win the fa cup to go with the carling cup and who is likely to replace him
{Ed002's Note - We will see at the end of the season what happens.}

24 Mar 2012 14:41:14
I am made up, brilliant to see Flanno, Sterling, Eccelstone and Coates in the squad. The future in bright.

p.s. Please don't expect Sterling to score 5 goals and 10 assists if he gets a chance.

Very happy to see Sterling get near the squad. I reckon Suso would have been there instead of Eccleston if he wasn't injured. Do you think Carroll will leave in the summer? Squad suffering from injuries but still can't get in the starting 11. After all the talking up of him Kenny does, and he still won't pick him. Very confusing.

Hi I'm not here to post any rumours. Just watching the Spurs vs Chelsea game and in particular been watching Modric playing wide right.

The fact that one of the premier leagues best central midfielders has not been effective on the right means it is unreasonable to suggest Henderson (a CM) by trade should be able to to the same.

Henderson has some of the characteristics of Modric in his brilliant stamina and one touch passing and he will no doubt improve his overall game on the right but if a current star in Modric can't perform on the right, then I think it isnt an unreasonable request for the fans getting on Jordan Henderson at the tender age of 21

AZ

Please dont compare modric and the shambles of a signing that is henderson, its embarrassing

Whats the difference between Manchester United and Liverpool FC?

28 points!

I'm here all week ;)!

Liverpool are the new leeds!!!!!!!

Is the difference that we are'nt bitter due to the fact we have won more trophy's, so we don't need to spend all week on the Man U site?

Ed is Raheem Sterling on the bench today?

No he was not at the marseille game
He may have been on the bench but why would he not start?

He is indeed on the bench I wonder if this has anything to do with what's been in the papers recently? I'm not sure he's physically ready for first team footy.

How bad are we really? In all honesty today, Were playing wigan today at anfield and im not even confident of getting a victory, We are the laughing stock of football this season, I cant wait for this season to be over and for kenny to leave and take all his waster signings with him, in rafa we trust

Broken record, ffs you Rafa brigade really are dim

Do I detect some pessimism?

I'm never confident against Wigan mate, one of those sides that always do well agianst us.

As for the IRWT bulls**t, i don't think you have the right to call Liverpool "we".
Try a little support.

So if kenny gets us a cup double you'd stil want him out? glass half empty kind of guy i see. in raffa we trust r u on drugs. look at the state our squad was in wen he left and then what happened at inter wen jose left him quality after winning cl. try getting behind the team person poster!...redman matt

I think the majority of us are rather bored of this brand of anonymous drivel.

Theres an article on talksport detailing what games we should have won. I still believe not all of them are there but from what they have said we should be 3rd with 62 points. Go take a look it made me put my head in my hands and just think: holy damn.

BthekingB

Should woulda coulda, we didnt win, we wernt good enough, end of.

Any team could do that

Ok so they concentrating on liverpool because they have missed quit a few chances...saying that the top four have also missed a few...didn't talk sport do a run down of the premier league on conversion percentages from chances created? Every team has missed loads..think one of the worst culprits were spurs...surely that would take us back down a few pegs?

24 Mar 2012 12:33:03
We have a team that are still learning and the QPR result will have taught them a real lesson. This is a team that is still learning how to play together to understand how they all play. To change the manager now would be a huge mistake. All that would happen is another clear out another group of players having to learn how to play together another season of transition. Like any true Liverpool supporter I've been disappointed by results, I'm disappointed that we aren't challenging for top 4, I'm disappointed that we've not advanced on last year in the premier league. But let's not let that disappointment turn to pointless calls for Kenny's head, continuity and patience are required if we want to get back to where we wish to be. A club isn't built on kneejerk reactions it's built on stability and loyalty. YNWA.

no sterling. so is he playing? we all know he does not actually want to go back to london to play. but i guess we will probably give him a sub today

24 Mar 2012 11:31:30
Armero I cant see being a regular starter... a backup for Enrique and Downing if either got injured because Aurelio is off... He is quick as lightning though. Suarez probably recommended him, what with him being South American... personally think we should ask Suarez and Lucas for their suggestions on signings, we need to build around them.

That is right. In the Summer I feel like we tried to build a team around Andy when he wasn't playing well. I think we should send Andy Carroll out on loan to a relegated team for next season to get his confidence up and then bring him back next season. I do believe, however, you are right that we should build a team around Gerrard, Lucas and Suarez who are our best players without a doubt.

BthekingB

There is no way Liverpool are going to send a £35 million footballer out on loan to anyone, but he might be sold!

The Irish Rover {Ed002's Note - That is not as funny as the thought of Suarez recommending Columbian footballers to the club.}

This is true Ed! South America is such a small place. A bit like Gerrard recommending some Greek! A Kyriakos maybe?

I have been reading everything being said about the King and it really hurts. You see I doubt we will ever know what goes on behind the scenes at LFC. Obviously there is a plan to get us back to the top. How is it that we have not made any progress when we have won the Carling Cup and nearly have a foot in the FA cup final. Alot has happened since Roy was sacked. Basically we have a new team this year. Sure at times I wonder about Kenny's selections but once again we dont really know what is happening behind the scenes that make those selections happen. We were all calling for Lucas to be sold. Now we are all saying that he is the missing link along with another striker. I am absolutely sure that Kenny knows what he is doing. A person like Kenny just doesn't lose his ability to motivate or understand players. So can we blame Kenny for the QPR loss. I think our boys got a little bit to confident and stopped playing for the last 15min. Every game that QPR play will be like a FA cup final for them. I suspect that the boys do have the FA cup on their minds even though Kenny may say they don't. As i was growing up I always dreamt of playing for Liverpool and winning the FA cup. This year it appears that the title may not be that important but bringing some pride back to the team and the city is important and if that means that we win 2 cups this season instead of a title well I will take that any day. It will take time to rebuild but we are heading in the right direction. Have faith people. We wanted Roy out and Kenny in. We now have what we all wished for so, let the legend finish the job before someone else stuffs it up again and we are behind the eight ball for another 5 years. Now the Eds have suggested some names in the past that may have been worthy of managing LFC and the Eds were very critical of the Kenny selection only because they never wanted the legend to be placed in a position where the legend status was compromised. So maybe the Eds have a little more insight into the workings of a professional football team than we do. Dont forget it might be what we live for but in the end it is just a business. In business it is not the subordinates that make the decisions just remember that.

Red from Shepp

I think kenny would agree we need a striker.

Gilo (arsenal fan)

Just remind me how many times you have won he european cup so its pointless arsenal being in it. Anyway dont come on here being all emotional and how you use to respect Liverpool fans.

We are building just nicely so thanks for asking, its good that you care and are you not the club that was booing our own manager and certain players (walcott) this season. So lets not talk about standards.

Look forward to seeing Arsenal getting there polish out at the end of the season after all there trophies they have won this.

Anyway thanks for double standards.

All the best

I'm sorry, plenty of Liverpool fans are very intelligent and very decent people.

But what is with your fans coming onto our page and slating a team which has hauled itself from the gutter, sorted itself out and are now 3rd in the league?

The one man team thing gets old quickly. He is a striker, he get's into positions to score goals. You may have forgotten what it is like to have a striker that can do that... It's not as if he takes it round the whole team and scores every time... It's not as if the whole team are just sitting back and wondering round the pitch aimlessly. Maybe, 2 or 3 players from your first team would get into ours at the moment Suarez, Gerrard and Enrique. (I wouldn't take Suarez into our team but he is a very talented player)

You have won the Carling Cup, well done it is more they we managed last season. But I will reiterate that EVERY Arsenal fan would prefer to finish in the automatic Champions League places then win the Carling Cup. You may feel otherwise, that is okay, but in my opinion finishing in the top 4 is more important. Something you have not achieved for a while...

So whilst you are wallowing in mid table contemplating whether even King Kenny can clear up this mess we are flying up the table with a team full of confidence and belief and a World Class captain who is the best player in the Premier league bar none, and we made him that.

I think you may have come down with a little case of jealousy... I'm sorry to see it. I have lost some respect for Liverpool this season but I have always respected your fans and your clubs history. Just please stop, it doesn't come across well.

Gilo

It was only a few weeks ago you arsenal fans wanted rid of wenger.FICKLE OR WHAT !

I'm a true LFC fan and have to agree, i don't know why fans visit other team fan sites! Maybe its the banter, but i feel it is done merely to be an arse. I also feel the silly manc, cfc fans that come on here giving it large tend to be loners with no sense of importance in their lives. (i for one would never dream of going across to their pages) Anyhow, can i say well done Arsenal for your achievements thus far, you had as poorer start this year as we did last yet you have pulled it together and dragged yourselves into a league position everyone was saying you had no chance of achieving so well done. And RVP can come to us whenever e wishes lol.

Gilo well wrote and thoughtout post and i agree with almost everything you say, im a liverpool fan, we're not ready for the CL yet, we would only embarass ourselves being in it, you're best team in london, top class striker, who is the difference in most games for you, Liverpool will be up there soon but not just yet

"but in my opinion finishing in the top 4 is more important" Gilo, love your standards, a few things for you to ponder on, you ve won nothing for the last few years, even with players you lost. you wont win the CL by qualify'n for it, only one team can win the prem league, meaning that any other team after that has shown no progress, wether in 2nd or 2nd last, Kenny gave every L/pool fan a boost when we won the C Cup, im sticking by him, in his last term he won the league every second year. we have another cup to contest, ye havent, your neighbours are still in it doh, so have they progressed more than ye??
JayB

The trouble is Gilo, we have to put up with fools like this muppet below,

''Was just checking on the intelligence and pettiness of scousers.
Poolgunner''

Most Liverpool fans are just giving it back.

MR EM

Fair point, RVP is one of the best strikers in europe right now. i hope for football he does something that none of your ex european players have done and that's pay back some of the faith the club have had with all his injuries and signs a contract extension.
arsene deserves someone to stand by him finally but i wouldn't bet on it. not with the podolski chase being made public and the similarities between them both. i'm a liverpool fan from london and there's blind belief that rvp will do the right thing and stay, amongst the arsenal supporters i know anyway. i'm not too sure, barca/real will call. 30/40 odd goals in the premier league is a dead cert that they both will knock(roooney/ronaldo as examples). good luck, great recovery and return of form. but rvp, he's in the lap of the gods. will he take the £250k a week carrot.......he'll be the 1ST player 'ever' not too.

RVP is going to Spain, Barca!

Just for the record where on your honours list does it say top four finish if your first your first, but if your second you are nothing.

gee man

We made him that my arse its about time rvp started scoring hes been there long enough

gee man

Most Liverpool fans on here are more fickle than Arsenal fans don't give them that kind of attitude.

'''Just please stop, it doesn't come across well''

Neither does coming over here and being a little butch

Im not a poster that does that but plenty of other fans from other teams come on here, it's all just a laugh mate now put your tampon in, dry your eyes and don't get so emotional. It's just words and a game.

hey lfc fans...........eds...

i always had a feeling early in the season coming to xmas times that kk ensured that the cups were more important than the league..........
and it clearly shows this season in terms of the players priorities..........i strongly believe if u are a manager and you drill into players how the lague is the most important i guarantee no matter which team we play we would go all out for the win and not fall short of motivation.

and everyone knows that lfc have been more efficient in the cups, and now you can see why with kk clearly telling the media that the cups were more important.

i just have no confidence in the manager ensuring this team can finish within the top 4 next season. And my reasoning is because kk focus this season "was not to finish higher in the table than last yr"...it was to win a domestic cup

and i feel a new manager should try to better the league position......and 2nd priority the domestic cups

all he says now is the stats show we have more corners, or we hit the post more...ok u want stats kk..how about losing so many games, being 30 points behind first place, being the worst finishers in the league and still no better than last yr league position! theres some stats for your a**!

red lobster

REDLOBSTER. Were did Rafa finish in his first season? Thank god he concentrated on the cups that season or we wouldn't have kept the European Cup! Sort ye barnet out ye clown!

i feel that every game...we perform good enough to score 3-4 goals ..but we dont

the problem for last 4 years hasn't been solved..for last 4 seasons we have only 1 striker practically performing . before that was also the same torres alone but at that time city n spurs were not there.to trouble us. u see except spurs all other top teams have at least 3 main strikers .(only arsenal r exception well its a one off thing...when ur main man is scoring a goal or two each match )..

i know we have signed many players but thats how it is ..signings n money doesn't always give goals but still the signings were not that king...in last 5 yrs only 2 good n talented strikers have made here suarez n torres but...to our bad luck never played togather.sad...

anyways....the solution i think is ....i think yes we do need some winger n defensive midfielders n all....but we should at least sign 2-3 forwards....thats it put all our money in signing forwards....not trying to be a wheeler dealer or a smart a**....this time we should bye what we want n thats atleast 3 strikers mr. henry

As much as i repect kenny as a liverpool legend,i really wish he would change his attitude when being interviewed.his caustic and belligerant comments are embarrassing . i start to cringe everytime he comes on and hes not doing himself or the club any favours !

He has always been like that. It's the way he is. Look at the way Ferguson treats the press when they ask him questions he doesn't like.

I agree , hes turning into fergie but without the trophies

hi eds
raheem sterling could be on the bench today

About time!!

That doesn't mean he is going to play. Speeding on the score line, he might get 5-10 minutes.

So should suso.

After World War 2: "Between 1940 and 1945 Winston Churchill was probably the most popular British prime minister of all time. In May 1945 his approval rating in the opinion polls, which had never fallen below 78 per cent, stood at 83 per cent. With few exceptions, politicians and commentators confidently predicted that he would lead the Conservatives to victory at the forthcoming general election.

... it is hard to imagine anyone who could have played the role of national leader with greater success than Churchill ...

In the event, he led them to one of their greatest ever defeats. It was also one for which he was partly responsible, because the very qualities that had made him a great leader in war were ill-suited to domestic politics in peacetime."

You will probably be aware that Churchill is regarded as one of the greatest Englishmen we are likely to ever have. A stalwart defender of the country, admired and respected beyond anything an ordinary man could be. Grumpy and testy, a genius at inspiration and beloved by millions. Same with Kenny Dalglish. Churchill's loss in the election after the war was seen at the time as disrespectful to a man who had done so much for the country (KK + Hillsboro') and people were initially dismayed (pro-posters on here). But we have NEVER lost our respect and love for the man (KK and Liverpool). It was just one step too far and one day too long ......... in some people's eyes. Same with Kenny: no matter what we feel about him as a Red and legend, there will come a time for him to go. When that happens his stock will rise even higher. Asking questions never hurt anyone. They merely add to his lustre as an icon.
Surprised he has not been made Sir Kenny Dalglish - even if it is an honorary title from Liverpool City Council. But I'm still annoyed at some of his team selections. Such is the job of a manager and for £3m+ a year and the love we have for him he can put up with that - and so can you!

I think youll find Churchill was a woeful leader if you read history properly, he was an odious man. History forgets that Clement Attlee and Ernest Bevin did more for this country than any leaders in the Century, shame the English were too stupid to vote them in again in 1950, but then look who the English voted for in the last election!

Kenny is a club legend always will be but we should not be held to ransom by his legacy. Current form dictates he needs to go.

LFC is not the story of King Kenny he is a part of the clubs story but now we need to turn the page and begin a new chapter......

TIME TO GO

i posted at the start of the season we needed a striker and that the rest of the team was going to suffer because of it, i still think that is all we need and if we get one then im convinced we will def be a force to be reckoned with, our all round play has been superb this year at times. Its just the end product we need a striker.

gee man

24 Mar 2012 09:33:26
Here's the players we have missed for a long term this season. Lucas, Gerrard, Suarez. To be quite frank I would say there our top players not tell me if Van Persie had gone for 8 games that they would be in the same position. -McMenemy

Results since Gerrard and Suarez returned would suggest the team performed better without them. Just saying.

Its lucas that we're missing i think.

Kaizer

Yes because the games we had Adam, we were so good? Without Suarez we can't break any team down.

24 Mar 2012 09:30:56
Seems to be a lot of LFC obsessed mancs getting on here lately.....Id more concerned with the state of your own club if i were you as if City win the league your potless........

At least we are in the position to be challenging in march.
I heard butlins is your sponsor next year. Their season ends in November as well.

jamesmack8

Oh... so the original poster was correct. Hmmm..is that where all the negativity is coming from?

YoungRed

If you read my previuos post, i actually said i want you guys to start challenging and make the league and rivalray back to what it was. harmless banter. but honestley, a club with your history etc.....is a carling cup and 28 points of the leaders a good season?

jamesmack8

24 Mar 2012 09:29:10
wow. reading your page is sometimes unbeleivable. I understand that dalglish is held with high regard at your club, totally correct too. his handling of the tradgedy that hit your club was impeccable. won alot of respect from all fans there.
But football wise, he is killing your club. 28 points behind the leaders is a joke for a club your size. i know your captain is injured most of the time but so is ours! how is henderson near your team with the displays he has put i?. I genuinely miss the banter with liverpool fans over trophies. the season you were challenging for the epl was so exciting, nail biting stuff. Just cos it was united v liverpool to the wire.
I think as fans you have to say thank you to kenny but goodbye. anyone else would be out the door right now. get a new manager, some dwecent signings and let battle resume!!!!

jamesmack8

It's obviously rattles Utd fans that Kenny is where he should be. The manager of Lfc. I believe kenny should be given at least the same time as Old Red nose got.Remind me now, how long was it before he won a trophy, not mentioning how long it took him to win the title.

I honestly think all the mancs are hoping Kenny goes. You are scared sh#tless that he is doing what needs to be done to make us a force again. It isnt a quick process but it will come and the great LFC identity will be back.

Houllier & Benitez could never grasp this concept and over the long haul took us backwards. Kenny is moving us forwards, just like whiskey nose did you lot unfortunately.

You just dont get it. how are we going to be scared of you. 28 points behind us with city, arsenal, spurs, chelsea miles ahead of your team. kenny won the league with blackburn 17 years ago. he has been out of the game for ages and you seriously think he is the man to lead you to a title. you have never been further away from it. kenny has blown money on average british players that he hoped would come good. henderson is shocking, adam thinks hes gerrard, downing is. inconsistent and andy carroll, who i feel for. 35mill was too much and the team does not even play to his strenghts.
we aint scared of ya............in fact we kind of feel sorry for ya.

jamesmack8

Having mancs appear on here worrying about the King is a sure sign that they are squirming with the fear we'll be after them soon, just as whiskey nose heads for the hills. I for one can't wait.
ND

Id be more worried if rafa was in charge. your football has been shocking this season........at least you got a good kit deal eh? thats what fans of a football club want aint it.
the fact is by the team you win your 19th we will be in our 20's. your not even a rival anymore. newcastle are ahead of you with a new team. how do you explain that?

jamesmack8

Jamesmack8, it seems you only think about the current season whereas we, the board, the team and the manager are thinking along the lines of a 3-5 year plan. Rome wasn't build in a day and unless you're owned by an oil baron, middle eastern prince, it takes time.

Eds why are u absolutely sure that kenny dalgish will remain charge aftet extremly terrible season. For me this season is worse than previous. Owners are not blind that can't see liverpool' league position. He also wasted 100 million.
AN INDIAN LIVERPOOLIAN.... {Ed001's Note - what's a Liverpoolian? Anyway, none of us have ever said we are sure he will remain in charge, though how winning a cup makes it an extremely terrible season I will never understand. The whole point is to win things after all, but I suppose that is the sad thing about football these days. It has forgotten that it is a competitive sport and become purely a business and even the fans have lost sight of the true idea of the game: to win trophies. You get nothing for coming 4th other than money.}

Indian Liverpoolian (lol) where were you when Roy was in charge?! You are a bitter! Singred

Sorry but you get alot more than money for finishing 4th you get to play in Europes most prestigious competion which is where all genuine top clubs belong.I live abroad and hate the way our clubs reputation has been damaged by missing out on champions league football and dont think alot of uk fans realise that in europe we are no longer considered one of the top teams and more of another fallen giant of the game
ted

How can this be a terrible season? not good enough, i admit, but terrible? were still in fa cup, and we won carling cup. atleast we are already in europa next season even without getting 5th. it still can attract players, and did u not realize how much better we are playing compared to last season? i so love the way we play now, apart from a few games, but i guess u cant do that every game. just abit more tweaking, and hope that our stars dont leave, we'll improve next season.

Some people on here seem to have unswerving faith in kenny dalglish. Not on what he has achieved as a manager this season but on what he achieved as a player a quarter of a century ago. We all love him to bits for his playing days but no one can deny its turning into a disaster on the pitch.
Throwing away points all season when we do manage to get the lead, and losing after we are two ahead are signs weakness. Often we look weak when carra is in defence, I hope Coates starts and carra is on the bench we need to blood a new centre back, we can't go in to next season with carra being our main cover, he is way to slow and looks lost when the ball is crossed into our area.
Wigan at home today, we should all be happy and relaxed that 3 points are ours for the taking. It's a sad reflection of our season when the nagging feeling in the back of your mind is hoping we bit Wigan but not expecting too.

I have total faith in Kenny. Our home form this season has been the best in years. I have not came away from one game accusing the players of lack of effort. We have controlled all the games including the teams above us in the table. We need to address the lack of being able to finish the job,but I am confident that will be sorted in the summer.Rome wasn't built in a day,and gradual improvement as been shown with one trophy in the bag and the FA cup still a possibility. In the words of Kevin Keegan If we win 2 Cups and City win the Premiership.I'd love it! love it!

24 Mar 2012 06:39:32
I didn't realize our youngsters only won two games in NextGen series.. both games against Molde.. so why are they so good?

There not! Prior to them taking a mauling against ajax, we played spurs and lost 1-0, spurs were without five of their best players who had been loaned out to championship teams to gain first team experience!! they brought in two underaged players who were not registered! so they beat us with a vastly under strength team containing underaged players! But lfc went through because spurs realised their mistake and with drew from the comp!

Maybe they are over hyped, like many other things, could it be so?

Hello everybody

I can't believe I'm gonna say it but I can't see us winning today :"(

24 Mar 2012 05:08:26
will gulasi be given a chance as backup for reina next season?

No

If Reina does not play every game he will toss his toys and want to leave, has that not dawned on you!

Sell Reina and buy Vorm from Swansea

Vorm has been aproached by clubs in mancester and London. He rejected all advances and stayed with the wales based club. He is not for sale, if u want a player, doesn't mean he will come. It's as simple as that. I want messi instead of Carroll. Did that happen?

As a younger fan (25) I understand what kenny has done for the club and have maximum respect for him and everything he stands for,

But,

I also look at position in the league and to say its not good enough is perhaps an understatement.

In the last few days I have thaught a lot about where I stand on whether kenny should go or stay, and I have a definitive answer in my mind.

He should stay.

The reasons being:
First whole season with 4 or 5 new players.
Also loss of gerrard for most of season has been unlucky.
The Suarez 'incidents' havent helped.

I now have faith that next season, when kenny signs another good forward and winger (which is obviously what is needed), and providing most of our first team stay fit without long term injuries, we will be in the hunt for champions league place at least.

I am going to the game tomorrow and the club, manager, and players will have my FULL support, and to anyone else going, I only hope you will do the same.

Tom in wolves

Also loss of lucas for the whole season was a massive blow

And Lucas was getting even worse abuse 2yrs ago than Kenny's getting now!!
How the tables were turned by that Boy!!

Lyndon

No one is questioning what kenny has done for the club and 99% off LFC fans have maximum respect for him. But as a manager hes out off his depth, look at our league position not good enough, we've spent over £110m I'm sure if a team like wolves spent £110m they would have more points than we do. In any other job Kenny would have been shown the door by now.
Let's stop with all the if's/but's at the start of this season I was expecting a top four finish & a cup run, if you told me we'd spent all that money and we're still no closer to the top four (in fact we're 12 points behind the team in fourth place) I would have kicked your ass.
If Woy was still in the hot seat I'm sure we'd see fans outside Anfield protesting but because it's kenny then no one says anything bad about the team or kenny.

Mr B

I agree but I just have a nagging feeling in the back of my head that we are not going to get the type of striker and winger we are hoping for. I think he/they will be second rate purely because we have not reached our goal of champions league football next year. There are soooo many good footballers out there ready to be signed and I think this transfer market will be massive for other free spending clubs like Chelsea Man City Man u PSG Real and Barcelona. We will be left behind again. Our only hope is that KK and Commolli have decent enough scouts out there to grab players who are not quite there and hope we are lucky and not get Traore and Cheyrou type players.

Speeds

Well said young man.... Its nice to hear such judgement from a young Liverpool fan. Liverpool's season could be described as a partial success. On a scale of 1 to 5 with very poor being 1 and very good being 5 we are a 3 IMO. 1 cup won, another possibly on the way but disappointing with the league posistion even though the large majority of performances in the league have been very entertaining with Liverpool playing some really good football but not finishing chances created. There are a whole host of games we can point to this season and say "we should have won that 10 nil". I know football is not about if's, but's and maybe's but in my opinion the quality of football has improved at Liverpool this season by at least 25% when compared to benitez and 100% when compared to "owl head". I feel sorry for Liverpool in the sense that the lack of goal scoring problems we have had this season are because torres decided to leave.... We did not want him t go but he decided to leave! We had to make emergency arrngements (carroll) to fill the void and to this point it has not worked out brilliantly YET. My only criticism of daglish this season has been his treatment of Carroll. When Carroll scored in the derby earlier this year he was then dropped for 3 games and this more than anything affected his confidence IMO. He should be played in every game for me from now til the end of the season with Suarez to try and develop the partnership for next year. I would only like to see maybe aquallani, cole and kuyt leave in the summer.... I dont really want kuyt to go but strongly believe that if we sign the right players in the summer then his position in the team would be under threat. We all know what type of players we need for next season. A right winger or wide player with quality and another striker because all the teams above us have plenty of striking options but we only have 2 really as kuyt and bellamy are used in wide areas. The progress the club has made is obvious when you look at my last statement. Before Daglish took over from "owl head" if you were to ask the question "how many players do we need to improve for next year?" your answer from many Liverpool fans would have been " A whole chuffing team mate" and now we are saying just a striker and wide player which is the general consensus. If a builder was building an extension at your house would you judge the work at the beginning of the job? no... half way through the job? a little because you would want to see the work taking shape but you would reserve judgement for when the job is completed.
In my opinion, next season is the time to judge daglish for real... its not a cop out... he deserves another year because he has won a trophy, not the one we all want but a trophy and a clear sign that we are "progressing" (maybe 2! fingers crossed). We have been poor in the league and I was more annoyed with the qpr result than any other this season as it shows that the team not the manager are becoming complacent because of the progress in the cups.... But even the most ardent daglish critic cannot fail to appreciate that we have been battering teams and not been able to stick it in the net! The commentator at the qpr game said that if it was a boxing match it would have been stopped at half time eventhough it was 0-0.
In my opinion we have moved on from 1 yr ago. The squad is much stronger than last year and we have a squad of which the nucleus is about 23-24 yrs old which bodes well for the future.
The flak that Kenny is taking is largely coming from the internet and from papers that already dislike him and liverpool because they would not like us to return to our former glory. Everyone has an opinion and is entitled to one but I would have thought that Daglish above anyone would be given more respect and more time by the average Liverpool fan because of what he has achieved for our club. I hope that the owners are not foolish and stick to the mantra that this is a long term project at Liverpool. because regardless of our position in the league, I have seen enough of an improvement to warrant another season for Daglish and then we can judge him in a years time. Champions league football next season is an absolute must and the minimum requirement and anyone who says that was the goal this season needs to give their head a wobble.... We are not ready yet because the team is not ready and is still learning to play together but the tactics used by daglish have workd this season because apart from 3-4 games this year I have watched Liverpool be the better team more often than not but without the finish... So should we rip it all up and start again or let Daglish build on the foundation we already have in place... I know what my answer is.....
jonnybarnes89-90
p.s sorry for the rant...

Wouldn't it be great to be younger than 25 again
