Ojo's loan spell seems to be going well. Do any of the eds know what the plan is for him after the loan? Will he have a place in the squad?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - There won’t be a plan.}

24 Dec 2017 23:11:57
I hope to see more of him when he returns but I fear we won't, it seems so difficult for youngsters to progress at our club. I hope I'm wrong of course, I really like Ojo and have done for some time now, he deserves his chance with us, he has so much potential, give him his go.

25 Dec 2017 05:58:13
Wilson go leave, Ojo to get a chance in preseason to prove himself as a squad player on the wing, and Woodburn to develop into a midfield attacking role like Lallana or Coutinho IMO.

25 Dec 2017 15:04:52
Wishful thinking thinking Liverpool have a plan for the loanees. Should know by now we ship them out with no real focus on the future.

24 Dec 2017 22:03:45

Merry Christmas Irish . Blessings to you and your family and to all Liverpool supporters worldwide. And to you eds25 and ed002.

24 Dec 2017 19:11:57
Hi fellas, would just just like to wish everyone a god Christmas and new year. regarding the goalkeeper situation, we will not win anything consistently until we get a top class keeper in. you only have to look back to see how clubs fortunes have changed and a top class keeper has been at the heart of it. (a good team as well, but a defence play better if it can trust the keeper behind it. forest had shilton, Arsenal had seaman, man united started winning titles with schmeichel, Everton had southall, Chelsea with Cech, Tim flowers was the best keeper around for a couple of years when Blackburn won the title. top keeper save you the extra eight points or so a season to make the difference . no coincidence all these clubs started periods of success with a top quality keeper.

24 Dec 2017 21:43:42
Mostly agree with that Rob but man city had Hart. Best bit of management I've seen in a long time is that Pep bombed hart out before he even worked with him then got bravo for a season until he could get his first choice. I actually think we should give Karius the rest of the season to give him a chance to make the no 1 spot his own. Have a great Christmas eds and fellow reds.

{Ed025's Note - and you ace mate..

24 Dec 2017 21:50:43
Fair point mate, but I would also say hart did have a couple of decent seasons then seemed to get too full of himself, to be honest he doesn't look like he takes the game seriously anymore, just my opinion.

25 Dec 2017 12:18:14
Rob, if Adrian is benching you then you are right, Hart is no longer interested in the game of football.

24 Dec 2017 18:20:47
Ed001 have a great Christmas mate your work is very much appreciated. Ed025 you make me laugh and think we agree on most football issues. Merry Christmas.

Now to the legend Ed002 thanks for all the information you pass on. You have changed the way I view certain topics. The most knowledgeable football person on the internet. All the best.

Would like to wish everyone associated on the site a Merry Christmas and a happy new year. In all honesty it's been a good year to be fair for Liverpool and a decent building block for 2018, so hopefully we carry that thru to the new year and push on!

In the event Coutinho is sold are we looking for a Left Wing to replace him or a Center Midfielder?

The way Lemar plays I could see him filling both roles Coutinho plays (except he's left footed)

24 Dec 2017 16:10:02
De vrij rumors are heating up again. I personally believe there's a more chance of seeing him in a Red jersey next January than Van dijk. Agent Lucas is also there to convince him.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

24 Dec 2017 17:59:15
Don't think we will get de Vrij and rumours and paper talk on vvd is so boring there's no way he's coming nailed on for man City after the other night goal keeping position needs to be addressed how come everyone can see it but klopp it's beyond me I no we are crying out for a cb and a defensive midfielder but it ain't happening guys.

24 Dec 2017 16:01:17
I don't understand the rationale about buying Maquire for CB ahead of VVD. If VVD is as bad as is being suggested on here then you have to question not only Klopp but the other interested managers like Guardiola and Conte. Surely the logic of buying a Maquire for half the price is nonsense as you would simply be purchasing at the standard we already have. Liverpools defence is not bad (apart from individual mistakes) against 14 of the premier league sides because we attack for most of those games. Against the top five teams who put pressure on us we crumbled therefore any purchase must be an upgrade on what we have not more of the same. comments please.

Believable4 Unbelievable4

24 Dec 2017 16:52:51
Not a great choice - pay a lot of money for someone no better than what we have, or get your pants pulled down in public by paying a ridiculous fee for someone no better than what you have.

There must be an option C.

24 Dec 2017 17:14:13
Maguire is 2nd most overrated CB in the league. First being Van Dijk of course. Everyone really seems to believe Van Dijk is some supreme leader at the back, which is what we need. I have probably watched 90 mons of Vdijk twice in my life so I don't know about him.

On a side note Ben Mee is lauded a bit here now and then, he was awful against Spurs with Lovrenesque errors leading to goals.

24 Dec 2017 20:51:34
Ben Mee is a very average player in a system that suits him so his limitations aren’t exposed.

24 Dec 2017 21:33:50
I honestly think Vvd would be a good fit for us. Forget the price forgetting current attitude that's coz he doesn't want to be there full stop.

24 Dec 2017 22:04:06
MacGuire is a poor to average CB who is as slow as a slug, lacks positional sense and were he not English, NO ONE would care for him as I'v seen milk turn quicker than him, he is that poor. VVD has hios flaws and his attitude stinks as well so not sure about him anymore tho, I was never a fan of his. As for Mee, he had a bad game vs Spurs as he and the CB standing in for Tarkowski, were exposed by their midfield which is unlike Burnley cos they play a defensive formation to begin with.

Truth, you cannot ignore those issues you raised under the guise of VVD not wanting to play for Saints anymore. These issues in addition to his lack of positioning, tactical awareness, laziness out of possession and headless defending, were already there to begin with. Thinking all these would go away if he were to sign for us, is pure fantasy, IMO.

24 Dec 2017 23:23:07
For £70 million pounds he would have to be the best CB in the world. VVD isn’t even close. Worryingly he could actually turn out to be a liability. No one can predictably say he is the answer to our CB problems. Seems absolutely crazy to even think about buying him.

25 Dec 2017 09:37:35
£70m wouldn't buy the best defender in the world, so bit of a pointless comment.
In today's bloated market, £70m for a top defender is good business, and he is a top defender.
So going on your comment, who is better and available? Oh and also will be willing to come to the club?

Merry. Christmas everyone.

25 Dec 2017 12:02:10
"Liverpools defence is not bad, apart from individual mistakes" 🙈 oh my god, some people are totally delusional. Forget stats and look with your eyes, my eyes tell me mignolet is awful lovren is awful matip awful moreno awful. If we continue with these players we'll win nothing, and I'll go one better. If we don't get at least two defenders in in January then we won't make top four. That's how good they are.

24 Dec 2017 13:47:35
Hi Ed's what's the chances of us going in for jack butland in January or the summer? Surely he has to kick on in his career now and Liverpool would be a perfect fit for him. Also, listening to klopps conference after the arsenal game surely he has now conceded defeat that he simply cannot make lovren, klavan and mignolet better footballs and simply not good enough for this club or even this level. What are our realistic targets for January? Vvd? De vrij?

Believable1 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - He is a random player that Liverpool are showing no interest in. What do you think?}

24 Dec 2017 16:34:27
He’s struggled since his injury IMO.

24 Dec 2017 19:30:59
Banks1, I posted and asked about Jack Butland myself week or so ago I really believe he has got the talent and woudint cost an arm and leg like most transfers these days (well I suspect) I think he could be a really good keeper for us and top side he has all attributes potential and age on his side.

24 Dec 2017 22:06:29
Butland is poor, injury prone and severely overrated. He is STILL at Stoke for a reason. I propose people stay well clear of these English players in general like Macguire, Butland or Hart cos had they not been English, they would not get the ratings they get cos I've been watching these players and they are not good enough, IMO.

24 Dec 2017 12:51:49
I’ll start with the obligatory “long time reader, first time poster” introduction.

It’s been interesting reading what others have to say about our possible transfer targets, so just thought I’d put my two cents in. Sorry if I ramble!

Firstly, in regards to Max Meyer. He is being talked about as an attacking midfielder and a possible replacement for Coutinho. This season he has actually been converted into a pretty successful centre mid/ defensive mid so I’m not sure he would be a direct replacement as such.

Secondly, my Dad is a Southampton fan and I have watched them and VVD a lot over the last few years. Overall I think he has the potential to be a very good addition, but it comes down to whether he can make the mental step up.

I wouldn’t judge his footballing ability on performances this season, quite obviously our ridiculous antics over the summer have had a damaging effect on both him and Southampton.

He definitely has all the physical and technical attributes to be a top defender. Quick, strong, good on the ball and tackles well etc. Some of his performances, mostly before his injury, have been immense. In games during Southampton’s time in the Europa League (against Inter Milan comes to mind) he was simultaneously their best defender, play maker and attacker. If Klopp can get his head right he also has some of the leadership our team is possibly lacking. He was their captain before the summer, and from what I saw was quite good at it.

I do think criticisms of laziness are valid. Getting back quickly from advanced positions and positioning seem to be the weakest parts of his game, though this may well be down to attitude rather than a lack of understanding and reading of situations (not sure which is worse really! ) .

To me it has shades of the Mane transfer, there was plenty of criticism and concern regarding consistency and attitude before he signed and with a combination of Klopp and playing at a ‘bigger club’ and he has become a superb player. If VVD makes the move, I hope he can make the same progress.

On a wishful note, if Coutinho goes to either Barcelona or PSG and there is any possibility to get Sergio Roberto or Thomas Meunier as part of the deal, we should. I think they both would fit very well and be a significant improvement over Clyne. A quality right back with TAA as understudy (I’m presuming Clyne will leave fairly soon) would also enable Gomez to play centre back next season.

Merry Christmas all.

Believable15 Unbelievable1

24 Dec 2017 13:07:36
Good read, I'm not to sure we will go back in for vvd
But I do think he will become a great addition to which ever team he joins.
Merry Christmas to all.

24 Dec 2017 13:38:51
Excellent post, well thought out and argued.

24 Dec 2017 13:51:22
Great post and fully agree. Watched him a lot in Scotland and yes not great level but he just stood out in every aspect. And watching him last season before his injury he was brilliant and so dominant in the air especially in set pieces which is a huge issue with us and has been for sometime.

24 Dec 2017 14:56:16
VVD is nailed on. KFC, I mean Indy kalia has gotten the secret texts confirming this.

24 Dec 2017 17:15:20
The pros of VVD are that he is a leader, he's good in the air and has the pace and ability in a one on one situation. I'm sure there are "better" defenders than him out there, but are they available, would Liverpool interest them and are Liverpool interested. Answer is probably not.
Whoever we sign we must support and back them. Whatever happens we can not influence. I personally feel vvd would be a great addition and would bring a lot to the club.

24 Dec 2017 22:13:12
VVD has his flaws and they should NOT be ignored. He also has attitude issues which predate his injury and transfer saga. He is not the leader people claim he is cos at Saints, Fonte was the glue that held the defence together (he made Lovren look good like he did VVD, mind you) . He is supremely talented BUT he seems not be arsed about actually improving his game which is why he keeps being dragged out of position, is lazy and has a poor attitude. Watch our game at Anfield this season and you will see how he goes walkabout several times, leaving his defenders high and dry. He was doing this way before now BUT Fonte was there to cover for him. Fonte is gone and the errors are glaring. If Klopp wants him tho, who am I to dispute him.

25 Dec 2017 12:08:45
Koulibily?

24 Dec 2017 12:17:45
Now the VVD rumours have started again I find it very odd to see the posts and edds saying he is not very good. Everybody has every right to have opinions and I must confess I have not watched him enough or have enough knowledge to really asses him, but when I read the opinions of some of the experienced ex pros and the fact that Guardiola and Conte are reported to like him ido hope we sign him. I am not talking about how much he is worth I know that its obvious he has got to be better than what we have.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - he is a good player evered, his attitude is questionable though mate and imo has acted appallingly towards his club..

24 Dec 2017 13:52:54
He's a bloody good player when he applies himself. Has been a runt, so were Suarez and mane at previous clubs. Just part and parcel of the game. Look at coutinho and half arse can for example. Just got to get the right players, at the right time, in the right mind set. Never going to eradicate player power now, that ship has sailed.

24 Dec 2017 13:08:30
In wgat way ed? You mean the way he has performed when picked?

{Ed025's Note - he threw his toys out the pram when he was not allowed to leave and has been awful since with his cant be arsed attitude mate..

24 Dec 2017 21:37:25
That's purely because he doesn't want to be there when we came calling. I sort of see his point although I see yr point of view ed.

25 Dec 2017 11:36:35
How many players have good attitude when they want out very few couts wants out let him go same with Sanchez vvd and ozil . ddg was an exception real messed up that transfer not man u if it was other way round he d be the same.

25 Dec 2017 12:01:12
He’s been so awful that he has the same goals and more assists than Everton’s top scorer this season so far.
He’s been the same as every other season, world beater in one game, indifferent in the next, that is nothing new.
I’m not making excuses for the summer, that was a joke. But he is no worse/ better than last season.

Good read that Sturridge Wave, nice one mate.

24 Dec 2017 12:13:45
Thanx Salah! This being my first article, any sort of feedback (positive or negative) is highly appreciated!

24 Dec 2017 12:28:56
Well done. Great article mate. Good read.

24 Dec 2017 12:43:50
Good read that SW15. Thought you were a little harsh on Robertson mind.

24 Dec 2017 12:53:06
Good article, agree with everything.

24 Dec 2017 12:54:22
Good Read and always nice to get your first one out there for us all to read.

Hopefully see some more from you mate :)

24 Dec 2017 14:54:57
Yeah kind of liked Roberton Friday personally.
Otherwise well done buddy 😊.

25 Dec 2017 06:23:42
Thanx everyone for your feedback! Point on Robertson is noted. I'll watch the game again to see if i have a change of opinion.

24 Dec 2017 11:20:08
I don't understand fans on here. In the summer everyone wanted Van Dijk and was not impressed when we didn't get him.
Now he hasn't played well once his head as been turned. Know one seems to want him.
Strange!
I ask the question, would anyone on here not take Alexis Sanchez now because of his below par performances since not getting his move.

Believable12 Unbelievable1

24 Dec 2017 11:49:05
Also, we have to improve our defence. He may not have been playing at his previous levels, but he is no a brain-fart defender like Lovren, so our defence is immediately improved. He's also, quick, strong and good in the air.
Drop Mignolet (he must have a folder of naked pictures of Klopp or something to continue getting picked. If it's not by blackmail, then I have no clue what it is) and replace Lovren with VVD and the opposition gall threat I greatly reduced.

24 Dec 2017 11:51:34
LL for me and several others, VVD is not the answer no matter how much the media and the fans fawn all over him. His flaws that you are seeing now if you watch him, have always been there and there were already reservations about signing a CB tho extremely talented BUT very flawed BUT he is who Klopp wanted so I defer to him. We are now seeing those flaws being more manifest due to him checking out of things, mentally. For some, you may be right that people are turning on him. For others like Ed01 and myself and many others, it is no news, really.

24 Dec 2017 11:52:31
Well said. And can you imagine the same lot. If he goes to city, and is brilliant!

25 Dec 2017 11:37:35
Who wouldn't want to go to city now.

24 Dec 2017 10:08:37
Morning all and merry Christmas to everyone.
Long time reader and first time poster, so go easy on me .
I'm having an argument at the moment with a mate, who thinks Rodgers was a brilliant boss and doesn't rate Klopp at all. Can someone help me out with an argument, so that I can please shut him up over the Christmas period? Lol
Also one question for ed 01 if I may?
Just wondering what your opinion was on John Toshack as a player and did he ever really have a chance of becoming Liverpool manager as he has said?

Thanks in advance and Merry Christmas to you all and thanks to the eds for all the hard work you put in.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - as a player he was before my time, sorry. Yes he had a chance to become Liverpool manager, he was in the running a couple of times in fact.}

24 Dec 2017 10:37:17
Get a new friend I would say lol. It would be far easier than trying to make your current one learn.

24 Dec 2017 10:34:43
Thanks for the quick reply ed, much appreciated.
Have a great Christmas.

{Ed001's Note - welcome mate, so I couldn't help on him as a player, I can only remember seeing him and Keegan winding up the telepathy testers on a TV show as I have seen it recently.}

24 Dec 2017 11:15:41
Suarez carried the team and Rodgers. Klopp has a handful of players who can do the job. Apart from the defence and Migs, when we add Keita, we have a solid team, we didn't have that under Rodgers. We had Suarez who made Sturridge look incredible, who helped Sterling improve his game incredibly. Now we don't just have 1 player carrying the team, we have Firmino who is not only scoring goals but probably the most technically gifted in the team not to mention Mane and myself. Hendo, many don't rate him, I personally do, I rate him alot. Ox, has shown some impressive moments since he joined, maybe not at the beginning but certainly the past month or so. Moreno has just improved, he's impressed me, say what you want about the lad but he's really stepped it up under Klopp this season whether that's down to Klopp or not who knows I don;t know that much info but it would seem so.

24 Dec 2017 11:53:58
Great post, Salah. You are just as brilliant on the pitch as you are as a poster. Bravo, sir.

24 Dec 2017 11:59:32
Rodgers did a brilliant job with Sterling, Sturridge and Suarez to be fair, but he lost the plot badly when the money came in for Suarez and he failed to replace him. IMO in his arrogance he tried to change the entire setup of the team around a large CF, breaking away from the fluid attacking play of the 13/ 14 season.

When it didn’t work we ended up with a mishmash, with no clear style of play or identity, ending up with the 6-1 loss to stoke.

Klopp on the other hand has established a clear style of play and an ability to create significant number of chances against even the best sides, meaning we are almost never truly outplayed. It’s only our poor defensive and weak GK that have kept us from a much better set of results than we currently have. If we can figure out how not to panic when put under pressure we will be right up there with the best.

Klopp over Rodgers every time for me, I just hope he can fix the Defense before it’s too late.

24 Dec 2017 12:32:21
Cheers BRover - I love reading your posts mate.

25 Dec 2017 11:30:58
I remember Toshack very well. I wouldn't put him in the class of legend, but he was a very good CF. Him and Keegan up front worked very well as a partnership, with both making goals for each other. When he became the manager of Swansea and took them from the 4th division to the first, and finished 6th in that first season, there was a lot of speculation that he would indeed become the manager of Liverpool one day.

25 Dec 2017 11:31:01
Tell him to look what happened when Suarez left, he was sacked. Ask him who signed Allen Balotelli mignolet lovren Clyne lambert sahin bogdan etc. The only two signings he made that were any good were couthiho and sturridge who after a sportsman's dinner that Jamie carragher spoke at that I attended I found out he was advised to sign them but didn't want them but was talked into both signings.

Look at who he replaced Suarez with (see above) look at the embarrassing champions league performances from him (playing a weakened team away at Real Madrid, ) the man was an embarrassment a schyster a fraud and was eventually found out. Hope that helps you mate, personally I think you should cut him straight off when he brings it up because he clearly knows zero about managers and football.

25 Dec 2017 11:34:10
To me, is this even a debate btw Klopp and BR? Klopp got to two finals with BRs team that BR himself trashed in the media on his way out. Debate over!

24 Dec 2017 10:19:10
Am I the only one excited about the prospect of getting vvd in January. I don't care if it's 70 million pound cause I think he is worth every penny and considering we need a commanding cb badly we need to pay what it takes to get him.

I know he hasn't played the best I get that but his head has been turned by a move he thought was going to happen last summer. In fairness regardless of whether he wants to be at Southampton or not he is getting paid a salary so the minimum he should be doing is giving 100% which I don't think he is doing but if people think he is going to put in half arsed performances for liverpool need to wake up.

He chose us over man city (this year's champions) and Chelsea (current champions) both better teams so let's get behind him. He wants to play for lfc and I for one want him to be at lfc. He is a monster of a defender. Hopefully stefan de vrij comes also in Jan.

Believable6 Unbelievable2

{Ed025's Note - when i first read that i thought it said you were excited about getting VD in january IR...now i have read it properly i think the result may be the same mate.. :)

24 Dec 2017 10:35:47
Ed0025. Ha classic mate. My favourite eds now.

{Ed025's Note - cheers mate..

24 Dec 2017 10:56:31
I'd be excited to get some top class defenders in and a top class keeper. We could have a backline of Maldini's in there but we would still concede with Mignolet in goal.

24 Dec 2017 11:20:42
True Jayden mate.

24 Dec 2017 11:25:30
Jayden23. I agree 100% mignolet is a massive problem. Hopefully klopp has come to his senses now and karius will be in goal v Swansea. Karius is not the answer for me either but I would love for him to prove me wrong. Don't think we will get a new gk in Jan but hopefully getting vvd and de vrij should stop some of the rot till the summer.

24 Dec 2017 11:58:01
Spot on, Jay. The GK is and will always be the prob. Utd have gotten away with this for years with DDG in goal and are to some extent still are. If the GK is sound (not even world class), you can get away with just putting a system in place like Klopp has, which limits the amount of chances conceded which Klopp has done brilliantly since Spurs (12 shots conceded in 9 games) .

In fact, any decent GK would do well as we don't allow teams to attack us as much. But Migs is not just any decent GK, is he? He is the poorest and the most fundamentally useless GK I've ever seen as he does not even do the basics right. The fact that Klopp had to say that he should have used both hands after the game is damning in itself.

25 Dec 2017 11:30:32
I must admit I am not sold on VVD and we really messed the situation around in the summer. I say stay well clear now and put it down as a massive balls up by the club. We are apparently looking at alternatives anyway so let’s see who we see doing the melwood lean in Jan and wish them the best of luck.
As for the players, you don’t always get what you want and should still be putting in maximum efforts for their current clubs as they are the ones paying massive wages.

25 Dec 2017 11:35:01
Much like lovren BRover?

25 Dec 2017 11:38:27
Back 4 need confident goalkeeper behind them and great dm in front we have neither buy them and things will improve especially in big games.

25 Dec 2017 14:51:37
Waro, are you obsessed with Lovs or something as you seem to mention him all the time?

24 Dec 2017 10:00:17
To the Eds the very best this Christmas. Despite not always agreeing with the replies given I have to say you are the most professional site on transfers, tactics etc. Well done to you all.

Hello and mary xmas too you all.
A keeper question for one of the eds who feel they can answer.
If we are out too buy a new keeper in either jan or the summer, witch ones are realistic to purchase, I have no knowledge of any top qualty keepers out there except the ones that are allready in a top class team. But does anyone know if there is a oblak in the making somewhere, how is the keeper situation around europe, is there a possibility someone who can make a list of keepers that we can realistic go for.? 😁.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - January is not the time to buy a goalkeeper - particularly for a club that has four registered for the league already.}

24 Dec 2017 10:04:53
It would be great if we did sign one ed, just de-register the others and pay off their contracts 🤝.

24 Dec 2017 11:31:17
Yes that's true, but imagening we sell migs att ward get a loan, is there any top keepers you guys know of that would be realistic.? Im just asking of anybodys opinion really if there some really good keepers out there because I have very limited knowledge in keepers besides the highe profile keepers like de gea, neuer, oblak etc etc.

24 Dec 2017 12:00:55
Lisv, I don't see any "top GK's" outside the ones you mentioned as they are hard to find so IMO, we should put Karius in till the end of the season and if he can prove that he is the right man, we go with him. If he can't then we know what to do next. The uncertainty is killing me and Klopp is to blame for this. If he plays Migs again vs Swansea then he will be responsible for any error (s) he makes as Migs does not pick himself.

24 Dec 2017 13:34:07
No player pick themselves so you’re saying Klopp is responsible for all the players errors?

24 Dec 2017 21:31:44
I would take a look at Donnarumma myself.

25 Dec 2017 12:55:50
Don't know if that was tongue and cheek, Ron. No the players' errors are not the manager's fault. They will begin to be his fault if he does not remove them esp. those he knows are not good enough and for whom he signed their replacements already.

24 Dec 2017 07:58:54
We keep hearing from Klopp " we must learn from our mistakes" with regards to our defending It's like groundhog day.

Keeping Mignolet between the sticks is one mistake you can eradicate straight away.

24 Dec 2017 09:28:50
Drogie, I like you, can in one way, stomach Gomez's error for the first goal (tho, he should have at least try to put Ozil off instead of just letting him walk by him for the 3rd) as he has been great for us this season. It is the Migs error that I can no longer stomach. As I posted earlier, if he continues w/ Migs vs Swansea then I give up cos Karius is chumping at the bit to come in and take his chance and he has been solid for us this season in the PL and CL. At that point, any mistake Migs makes will belong to Klopp and if he wants to get the sack then, let him keep Migs in goal. It's his choice.

24 Dec 2017 09:52:27
If Klopp sticks with Migs for the next few games I can understand it.
If he doesn’t sign a great keeper or a great defender in January then he’s turning believers into doubters I’m afraid.

24 Dec 2017 10:21:14
We have now thrown away more points from a winning position than any other team in Europe since Klopp has been in charge. We are in that winning position because of our attack force so it is not their fault. Mignolet and our defence do not just make mistakes they make mistakes that gift opposition goals and a foot back into matches. Klopp not only continues to not replace these players in transfer windows but he also continues to pick them to start games week in week out. I'm a Klopp fan and he is not afraid to rotate our forwards. But his stubbornness towards our keepers and defence could bite him in the arse.

24 Dec 2017 12:03:22
Ron, what type of logic is that that he should keep playing Migs even after he "equalized" for Arsenal. Pls, enlighten us on how that is understandable cos you are the only one on here I have seen, to ever say such a bizarre thing.

24 Dec 2017 12:13:46
RK: “If Klopp sticks with Migs for the next few games I can understand it. ”

BR “Ron, what type of logic is that that he should keep playing Migs even after he "equalized" for Arsenal. ”

I think you need to read those statements again, you’re misquoting.

25 Dec 2017 11:32:43
BRover why is it OK for you to criticise and insult mignolet, yet anyone who says anything even remotely negative about lovren you trot out these excuses for? How do you know what's going on in mignolets life?

25 Dec 2017 11:33:13
Ron like BR asked, could you explain to us how you can understand if Klopp plays Migs for the next few games after his howler vs Arsenal as I do not understand that thinking either?

25 Dec 2017 14:50:21
Waro, calling a player who is a proven crap player, a crap player, is not an insult. It is disprovable fact, period.

Regarding Lovren, I have criticized him Yes, BUT the only way we know about issues in his life is cos they are so serious that it is out in the media. I see what you did there BUT thanks for playing.

24 Dec 2017 05:53:31
It was a thrilling match vs the Gunners and posted a few days before the match that it was not going to be about defending.

After the first half I was thinking 3 points but then two massive errors by Gomez and Mignolet saw us trailing 3-2.

The transition from defence to attack from our players is simply mind blowing to watch. Arsenal can be lucky we were so wasteful in front of goal in the first half.

We came back with the equalizer so job done. 1 point from the Emirates and we are still sitting in 4th.

Transfer window opening soon and will be interesting to see if Klopp signs that illusive CB he requires. Hopefully it is not some ridiculous amount on VVD who ain't going to solve anything.

There is a point to be made that if United go and park the bus and collect one point in a difficult away match, Mourinho is hailed as a genius, but Klopp gets a point in an away game playing attacking football and only really let down by individual errors and the press have a field day.

24 Dec 2017 07:53:43
We came back with the equalizer so job done. 1 point from the Emirates and we are still sitting in 4th. 🤦🏻‍♂.

24 Dec 2017 09:34:48
Max, I love you and your posts BUT I like Jayden, disagree. That was a win that we threw away esp. with the way the game panned out. We should have been 4 goals up at half time a d no one would have batted an eye lid and even the Arse fans. If that was City, no way Arse get back into that game as they would have been out of sight. Arsenal (regardless of what Wenger is spinning in the media along with their fans) are a complete shambles and in deep trouble based on that perf. It looked like we were toying with them at some point, we were that dominant.

We threw that game away and the criticism we and Klopp get, is warranted. We should not be sugar-coating this at all. Migs needs to be dropped and the key thrown away and Klopp had better wise-up fast cos if he keeps Migs in goal sstill, he will get himself sacked.

{Ed025's Note - i cant argue with that brover..

24 Dec 2017 09:59:06
That key needs burying.

24 Dec 2017 10:02:48
That result was not just down to Migs error.

Firmino should have had 2 first half goals and missed one header and hit the keeper with the other. He also had another great shot creep over the bar.
Mane missed a volley which he should’ve hit the target with.
Gomez failed to deal with the cross for the first.
Midfield went to sleep for the second and Can failed to try and close Xhaka down.
Gomez stood and watched Ozil wander into the box.

We miss too many good chances. We don’t close down space or track runners when we don’t have the ball and our keeper and defenders make too many daft mistakes.

24 Dec 2017 12:08:10
We can agree on that. What we are saying overall as you well know, is that even tho we should have converted our chances, the GK should be there to make the most routine of saves to help stem the momentum we were losing and he actually succeeded in screwing that up. That was where the momentum completely changed as the nerves jangled and Gomez (I agree, should have put off Ozil a bit more) to score. The defenders do not and have never trusted him cos they keep getting blamed for his own screw ups. It's not rocket science, lad. Bin him for good and put Karius in till the end of the season as he has earned that right with his solid perfs. this season. Oh and by the way, NO club will sell you their "great GK" so people need to get over that.

24 Dec 2017 13:30:23
I suppose that was Man City’s attitude when they bought Ederson?
Every player has a price.

25 Dec 2017 13:04:06
Ron, I doubt you nor I knew who Ederson was before City signed him. Spurs, Chelsea, AM, and Utd will not sell their GK's to LFC, end of story as we would have never sold Reina to any of these clubs if they came calling. Ederson is a young GK who is talented and NOT yet world class as he is nowhere near the Selecao.

Jesus christ were have all this VVD crap come from again? He is City bound. Move on.

Believable2 Unbelievable7

24 Dec 2017 00:02:19
A lot of mentions of VVD not being good enough and dropped recently so we shouldn't sign him, anybody consider he could have had a 'sore back'?

Believable3 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - Southampton need to get the finger out and punt VVD - Celtic's got a 10% sell on clause so hopefully the £70 million is just a starting price.}

24 Dec 2017 09:37:23
Spot on, Ed. VVD has checked out of Saints and he has been showing it all season to the point that Pello has dropped him for good. They will punt on him in Jan and move on BUT they may not sell to us due to some bad blood, IMO. City can have him as to me, he is average and his flaws are there for all to see.

{Ed007's Note - When he was at Celtic VVD looked as if he had everything to be a top player but since durung his final season here he's been acting like a billy big bollocks without backing it up on the park. He certainly hasn't improved as much as he should have and you'd get a better CB for the kind of money being bandied about.}
