Believable1 Unbelievable2

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate, I don't ask so I don't normally get told. So no, I don't get loads of those posts mate. Thank you very much, be interesting to see if it is right. Fingers crossed it is a win for us!}

23 Sep 2016 23:12:18
Your welcome.

23 Sep 2016 22:22:23
Hi Ed01

Are you living near Osuna then? Great place. I live nearby myself.

Incaman.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed001's Note - yes mate, staying not far at all from it for a while. Whereabouts are you?}

24 Sep 2016 07:22:25
In Seville itself. I've been to Osuna a few times to eat. The restaurant on the top of the hill next to the church is worth visiting.
At least it's cooled down a bit now!
Hope you enjoy your time here.

{Ed001's Note - that is where we had lunch in the Game of Thrones chairs there. It is beautiful there.}

23 Sep 2016 21:49:08
Match preview is up on the teams page now.

23 Sep 2016 22:07:29
Very good again ed

I see you said Mignolet to keep his place. All over the net tonight I have seen Karius is starting. Any idea where this has come from?

{Ed001's Note - Klopp is refusing to be drawn on it mate, so people are guessing, including me. I have no idea which he will pick, so I am assuming he will stick with Migs until he makes a major error.}

23 Sep 2016 22:18:28
Cheers mate for your rapid response. I would love to see Karius but your point of keeping Mignolet in makes sense. Think my 4 year old kick more accurate ha.

Hope your well mate.

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate, all good here, hope you and the little un are good too.}

23 Sep 2016 23:22:57
Migs should start Not saying he should or he, s better I just think it's better karma for now! Less distraction 3 steady points then review these things can take time if managed properly let's not sprint.

24 Sep 2016 09:08:57
The difference between klopp and the top managers will be clear today.

Karius to start and he has the ruthless streak he will need if he is going to succeed.

Mignolet start and it just shows what he did at Dortmund, far to loyal. Hoping he will learn.

Before people kick off. Ask yourself DO YOU WANT TO WIN YHE LEAGUE TITLE?

Now we can't lose. Not while city are in this form. Leaving migs in to make a major error could lose us the game today. It shows him as reactive rather than proactive. Which isn't s good sign.

Be ruthless jurgen. Mignolet has made enough errors, get karius in and stleast gives us a a better shot. Canny lose momentum now. This si the game every Liverpool fan is dreading, the one we no we normally struggle or lose after beating the big teams. We need a really convincing win today, with complete dominace on the ball.

24 Sep 2016 09:17:20
I'd been told that Karius would av started the season as number one if he hadn't been injured. Which has also been reported on here and elsewhere.
But it's an interesting decision because creating competition for places is good for the team, but it has to be based on merit otherwise it has the opposite effect.
I'm not a Migs fan, but has he performed poorly enough to be dropped? If Karius is that much better than fair enough, but I've not seen enough of him to assess.

24 Sep 2016 13:19:49
Sir. 3 seasons you have had to watch mignoelt be not good enough for us. Are fans blind?

24 Sep 2016 19:56:44
Sirshanks, I don't know about you but three years of Mingo's errors that can easily be up in the double digits, is enough for me that he no longer has any merit to be first choice GK for LFC. Time to make the change and give Karius who would have been the starter had he not broken his hand, the chance to prove himself as Mingo has been given three whole years to do that and he has shown to be unfit for the job.

23 Sep 2016 20:08:35
Wasssup anyway I was thinking has anyone had a better cameo career than Dossena, scored against Madrid in a memorable win, scored against Man UTD in my second favorite win of all time, thoughts?

Believable4 Unbelievable7

24 Sep 2016 01:09:23
Dossena played a number of times though. Istvan Kozma, if I remember correctly, came on as sun and rescued us in a league cup tie against Chesterfield. Don't remember him playing many more games than that.

24 Sep 2016 01:47:20
Obviously the 5 disagree s are Utd trolls lurking as usual in our underbelly.

24 Sep 2016 05:07:54
BobbyF I know but it wasn't a huge amount of games he played so I was wondering who's if any have had a better short stint at LFC
John L8 Lol XDXD.

24 Sep 2016 10:07:48
Said it before on here - David Speedie

6 in 12 games. Debut goal against Utd at Old Trafford followed by two against Everton. Impact.

23 Sep 2016 19:32:29
So it looks like karius starts? I think this is the type of game you'd hope for when coming back from injury. Shouldn't have to much to do you'd like to think.

Believable5 Unbelievable7

23 Sep 2016 20:58:40
He was always going to be the No.1 choice. Might as well happen now.

24 Sep 2016 12:17:22
I hope Karius will start, but I will believe it when I see his name on that starting lineup.

23 Sep 2016 18:46:34
Hey Ed001,

Any chance of a preview for the game against Hull?

Cheers.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - oh shoot yes, sorry I was just busy, went to have a look round where Game of Thrones is shot just down the road. I will get to work on it now, thanks for reminding me.}

23 Sep 2016 19:29:48
Thanks Ed! Wow did you manage to see any of the cast?

{Ed001's Note - no, they are not filming right now, but we did have dinner on a part of the set. It is a hotel and you can sit on some chairs that are apparently in the series and eat. Shows how little notice I have taken, I never recognised any of the places or props from the series at all.}

23 Sep 2016 19:42:47
What do you make of Game of Thrones Ed?

As good as the critics seem to rate it?

{Ed001's Note - no idea, never read any thing from critics about it. It's ok, I just always forget to watch it and lose track as there are so many characters. With my memory, unless they play football they just don't stick in my mind, so I can never remember who is who.}

23 Sep 2016 20:03:08
Do you enjoy the series Ed1? I can't profess to be a huge fan, I've read the books instead because I just love that paper lol anyway I find the thing is a lot about sex an just sexed up as a whole? Anybody else find that or am I getting too old at 20? XD.

{Ed001's Note - it is alright, I don't mind it but it is not something I go out of my way to watch. I much prefer Lucifer. I have not read the books so I can't comment on those.}

23 Sep 2016 20:23:40
I'm exactly the same Ed haha. My mates will bring up an obscure footballer expecting nobody to know who they are and I'm like "oh yeah, 24 year old Nigerian who plays for Red Bull Salzburg and scored a hat trick on the 29th of May, 2014".

Then the mother would pull up Eastenders and I couldn't tell you a single character!

{Ed001's Note - I have never watched Eastenders, so I would struggle to name anyone in it. I have my home page on my browser set to show news when I open it, and it seems to concentrate on 'celeb' gossip. I must be getting old as, until the Jolie/Pitt thing, I had found that 99% of the people on my feed I had never heard of and have literally no idea who they are or what they do. I still have no idea what that bird you used to have as a profile pic actually does, though I do know she has made life more difficult for modern men. No longer do you know the answer your woman is looking for when she asks if her bum looks big in this. It has become a minefield, she might be pleased that she has a fat arse these days.}

23 Sep 2016 22:17:05
Game of Thrones is without doubt the greatest TV series ever, Sopranos, early 24 hrs were good but Tirion and Co walk it sex, comedy, violence and intrigue, what's not to like.

{Ed001's Note - I dunno, could do with some martial arts too...}

24 Sep 2016 00:29:53
Noooo ed don't tell me your a martial arts fan.

{Ed001's Note - love martial arts films mate.}

24 Sep 2016 07:57:46
Hey ed01 how you getting buddy. Enjoying the hot sunny weather in Spain yeah lol. Seeing your a martial arts fan who would you say your fave martial artist is? I think Jackie Chan was really good before he went mainstream in US but my personal favourite is Jet Li, who I've met a few times. Really down to earth guy and amazes me how much he does for charity. I've met Donnie Yen a couple of times but as good a martial artist he is, he's one arrogant knob.
In terms of football i was thinking about the stuff that was posted about paul ince strutting around like he owned the club. Who would you say has had the worse influence in the club and for what reasons?

{Ed001's Note - I love all three of those, Yuen Baio, Sammo Hung as well but my overall favourite has to be Tony Jaa. He is incredible.}

24 Sep 2016 09:19:53
Omg i don't think there is a martial arts film i have not seen and if i have not its because its some obscure film that has really dodgy fighting where all you see are close ups of their face, much like the seagal films as he got older lol.

Nice to know you are a well rounded bloke ed who doesn't just perv over footballers everyday. šŸ˜.

{Ed001's Note - I love martial arts films mate, I used to have a huge collection on video, which I then had to replace on DVD and blu-ray. I gave them all away when I went to Dubai and it damn near broke my heart. When I want a break from football, that was what I would do, pick a martial arts film and watch it. I had hundreds of really obscure ones as well, the dubbed ones, that I picked up cheap over the years or friends would bring me back from China or Japan when they went home. I never had a clue what was being said but would watch them anyway. There are some good Korean ones out there as well, Arahan is a favourite of mine, though that is a comedy martial arts film.}

24 Sep 2016 09:33:39
Yep good shout Ed, Ong Bak is decent.

{Ed001's Note - that is one of my favourite films ever. I just wish he would stop wasting his talents in crappy Hollywood movies.}

24 Sep 2016 09:47:45
Haha! I absolutely love really old classic kung fu films! I much prefer them to the Jackie Chan type of modern ones, I've seen so many stick on white bearded masters its untrue haha! The plotlines are often really similar but there's something honest about them, not only that but ya can't beat an old classic kung fu film for a good old evil laugh hhhooohaahaa! Genius!

23 Sep 2016 17:38:18
Hi Eds,

I vaguely recall a few posts over the summer with regards to Clyne being unhappy and looking for an escape. I just wondered if in your knowledge or opinion things had changed? He's had a good start and seems as though he's bought into Klopps ethics etc.

Thanks for your work as always. ynwa.

Believable0 Unbelievable9

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any change in the situation.}

23 Sep 2016 17:43:33
Thabks for taking the time to reply! šŸ‘.

23 Sep 2016 17:48:42
Clyne has been alright, he's crossing's improved but still isn't great and he does get caught out of position. However, his athleticism somewhat makes up for this and he has a great work rate, plus looks like he is fit enough to play practically every minute of every game as have never really seen him look tired.

23 Sep 2016 18:56:12
Theres just a complete lack of world class full backs across all leagues. I agree that he's not the best, but i can hardly think of a right back to replace him if we did sell.

23 Sep 2016 19:32:32
Fullbacks especially LB`s, have become a rare commodity these days as they are mostly asked to attack more and defend less rather than the other way around.

23 Sep 2016 20:35:02
On the way back from the game tues night I thought what would we give in January for for two fullbacks who can deliver, hindsight tells me I think mr Klopp has it right, I will be amazed if we're not in the mix or is it too early,

23 Sep 2016 16:11:07
Question for the Eds, do you think Sturridge will be allowed to depart due to the Klopp "style" of play he adopts doesn't seem to compliment one another?

For instance firmino is often preferred due to work rate in the position and both ings and origi seem to be more willing to work hard off the ball.

Thanks for any response.

Believable0 Unbelievable10

{Ed001's Note - even though Studger has started over Origi?}

23 Sep 2016 16:29:25
klopp once said that he heard a lot of stuff about sturridge from the fans and when he actually got to see him in training he said oh wow, he understands why fans talk about him, somewhere along those lines.

i personally think (may be wrong though) that klopp is managing him, he want sturridge fit for the whole season pointless to play so much while he's not fully fit. klopp knows he is quality i'm sure.

23 Sep 2016 16:38:30
I assumed that was a fitness issue re Origi may be wrong but I thought he was injured and being working back to fitness.

There is also the idea if he is to sell him then he would need to showcase him to maximise potential interest.

Not a statement by any means just a question as to whether this was a possibility for a near future transfer window especially considering firmino is clearly Klopps main man at present in that position. I would assume Sturridge will want game time and will not like to spend too much time out of the starting 11 all leading to the question.

Regards.

23 Sep 2016 16:57:54
I thought in the last couple of games Sturridge looked like he was working harder for the team, could be that the penny has dropped that Klopp expects him to expand his game.

23 Sep 2016 17:51:30
OP, there is a great article written by Tony Barrett on the The Joe website called "How Jurgen Klopp redefined Daniel Sturridgeā€™s Liverpool career". Pls, google it. It will answer all your questions about the Klopp/ Studge relationship.

{Ed025's Note - i dont need a journalist to explain their relationship hamilton, its the same as the one i have with my mother in law.. :)

23 Sep 2016 20:41:14
Sturridge actually had a great game against Chelsea, also winaldam in my opion is going be a great asset to this great club.

23 Sep 2016 21:00:44
Ed025, me and my mother-in-law have a great relationship. Is it like the one that exists btw Klopp and Studge? I`m not sure.

{Ed025's Note - in my view hamilton and its purely that of an outsider it seems a bit frosty to me, i think klopp demands total commitment from his players and i dont see that in daniel mate..

23 Sep 2016 14:53:44
What do Eds make of press reporting LFC interest in Italian CB Andrea Ranocchia?

Believable0 Unbelievable10

{Ed025's Note - not seen enough of him to form an opinion husni, but liverpool dont have a great history were italians are concerned mate..

23 Sep 2016 17:20:35
Woah woah woah.

You have clearly forgotten Andrea Dossena. Scores against Real Madrid and Man Utd in the same week. A living legend if ever there was one. šŸ˜‰.

{Ed025's Note - anyone who thinks dossena was a legend...should be in ward 26 of sefton general hospital.. :)

23 Sep 2016 17:52:32
Spot on, Ed. By the way, the Ranocchia link is from last winter. Old news.

23 Sep 2016 18:35:16
If you visit ward 27 you may run into Ed025 :D.

23 Sep 2016 19:24:14
Nah just for his goal against the mancs dossena will always be a leg end in this house.

23 Sep 2016 13:37:00
Didn't finish that last post. Sorry Eds. I was going to say by the law of probability, given that there are more winnable on paper games than fighting the top 6 games there is more chance we will drop points and it will stand out more than losing a tough game.

This post makes sense in my head anyway but I doubt I've written it very well.

Believable3 Unbelievable8

23 Sep 2016 14:12:49
What. care to explain?

23 Sep 2016 15:11:28
You should have just posted the full thing again with that part added on at the end.

23 Sep 2016 15:26:34
Ugh! I was responding to the thread about why we tend to focus so much on the dropped points. The original thread was discussing the importance of tomorrow's game and why we see it as more important than (for example) the game against Chelsea.

The heart says these games are so important but my point was trying to say that it's just another game albeit statistically there are more winnable games than non winnable games which is why we focus so much more on the lost points for this type of game.

23 Sep 2016 18:01:39
G1dgo, The big games are to me more like "you MUST not lose" games while games vs teams like Hull especially at home, are games "you MUST win". Why? You can have the best record vs the big teams but if you screw up vs the lesser teams you won`t win the PL nor make the top 4 because games vs Chelsea, Utd, Arsenal, City and now Spurs are only worth 15 points. games vs everyone else are worth 66 points. That`s why games vs the lesser teams matter more and are "must win" games. Case in point, we had the best record vs the top 4 teams in 08/ 09 (beating Chelsea and Utd home and away and drawing with Arsenal in both games) yet we only won 12 and drew 7 at home (mostly vs the lesser teams) . This is where we lost the PL, IMO. utd had the best winning record at home which is how they won the pL. This is where we need to improve and if we do that, then we may be in for an incredible ride this season.

24 Sep 2016 00:18:17
I don't understand the distinction between games. Just go out to win every game. Who cares who the opposition is, every game is a must-win.

24 Sep 2016 01:53:38
There are no lesser teams anymore.

23 Sep 2016 12:58:02
After I posted a Karius or Migs to play against Hull yesterday it seems most of you that answered said Karius and reading reports it seems like he may well start
Today's question
Sturridge or Origi.

Believable6 Unbelievable2

23 Sep 2016 13:07:41
studge does not deserve to be dropped.

23 Sep 2016 13:10:06
Sturridge every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

23 Sep 2016 13:13:57
Depends if Sturridge is fresh enough, personally think he'll end up starting with Origi.

23 Sep 2016 13:03:45
Studge all day long for me
Up the pool.

23 Sep 2016 13:16:46
Sturridge no he's not back to his best but he does deserve time, we owe him that.

{Ed025's Note - i dont think you owe him anything barry, rescued from obscurity, on fantastic money and with a terrible injury record...i think he owes liverpool big time mate..

23 Sep 2016 13:35:47
Sturrige definitely with coutihno mane and lallana behind him.

23 Sep 2016 13:37:34
Origi has scored last game sturridge didn't so if we are going on form then origi deserves to start.

Isn't sturridge injured anyway?

{Ed025's Note - probably.. :)

23 Sep 2016 14:03:42
Interesting way of looking at it there ed025. Though you are a bitter blue nose :) . Only kidding.

{Ed025's Note - not bitter but certainly blue Tj, but foremost a football fan mate.. :)

23 Sep 2016 14:49:04
That was me with my rose tinted glasses on Ed.

{Ed025's Note - and they really suit you barry.. :)

23 Sep 2016 15:27:20
Don't think either will start. Firminio should get the nod up front.

23 Sep 2016 16:03:09
Happy with either to be honest.

23 Sep 2016 16:13:24
Firmino tends to start at away games, particularly big ones where we expect to need a strong press from the front.

For home games against lower sides, Klopp tends to play strikers and I reckon it'll be Sturridge again unless injured. Sturridge has played very well last 3 games (except perhaps fading a little at the end of the last game) . If he continues to work hard off the ball then he's he more polished striker even if Origi is a big talent.

23 Sep 2016 17:03:34
I say Origi, he's young and needs more game time. Give him more of a chance. I think he's our next big thing I really do. I love Sturridge so if he's of fair enough but for me, Origi over him anyday.

23 Sep 2016 18:04:03
LFC owes no player nothing, period. As for who starts, I`m no longer bothered anymore as it seems that whoever we start as a front three will do the business. That is a testament to Klopp`s superb management and coaching ability.

23 Sep 2016 20:44:16
In agreement with you ed 25 perfect response.

{Ed025's Note - sturridge has the talent stevie of that there is no doubt, its heart that hes lacking for me mate which is a shame..

23 Sep 2016 11:57:03
Hi All, I've been a long time reader of this site from the days of only a main rumours page but only posted a few times, I've got tickets for tomorrows game, first I've been to since Gerrards testimonial, I've looked on the website and there is nothing about parking anymore, its all park and ride now, can anybody suggest where is best, I normally park at St Domingo car park but like I say the website no longer shows this as on option?

cheers Jonno.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - you can park by the ground in utting avenue jonno i think it costs about a fiver but you have to get there early, im sure some of the other guys can give you other alternatives though...have a great time mate..

23 Sep 2016 13:30:07
Last time I went I parked at Everton's ground car park. Well at least it's good for something! May have cost me a tenner though.

23 Sep 2016 13:37:19
Everton don't do it anymore this year, but round the corner you can park but there's not much space.

23 Sep 2016 15:56:02
I always park at lower breck road, near the cabbage. Ā£5. Usually always a space, can be a pain to get out though, need patience lol.

23 Sep 2016 20:50:39
Shield road always plenty of parking 15 mins max to ground, just past the Belmont heading out quick pick my in the Belmont happy days.

24 Sep 2016 10:00:34
Cheers guys! Going to head to lower breck road and just see where I end up. Now just hoping for the right result!

23 Sep 2016 10:24:18
Tomorrow's really important, if we win then Burnley can be viewed as a one off and we can consider 13 points from our first 6 games an excellent return. If we don't win then all the doubts come flooding back, "we can beat the big boys but not the teams that shut up shop" etc. Momentum and belief is so key to success and Hull at home is just the sort of banana skin we have to skip over if we want to be in this title fight.

Believable13 Unbelievable0

23 Sep 2016 11:48:04
Agreed, if we don't win. I'm going into hiding for a while. Lol

Merse got it right, if we start beating these lower teams then we will be very dangerous this year, if we don't then it's same old.

Strange being a lfc fan as I have no fears going away to belong teams yet a newly promoted comes to anfield and I'm nervous.

23 Sep 2016 12:04:20
I can see your point muscatred but I think isolating games like that just adds extra unnecessary pressure from the fans, I'm sure klopp and the team aren't looking at it that way, it's a game we need 3 points from and they'll approach it like any other IMO, I'll be disappointed if we don't win but it won't be the end of the world.

23 Sep 2016 12:53:20
Fair point Waro. The result is probably more significant in terms of the mood amongst the fans than it is for the league.

23 Sep 2016 13:03:34
Waro, it's quite pleasant when you engage in debate, I hope this continues. Although I agree it shouldn't be seen as different to any other match the reality is if we drop points it will be the story for the next week, pundits will talk about our inconsistency, fan opinion will swing again and the team can't be sheltered from that. If we can string a few wins together in these type of games then we can weather the occasional mishap but if we lose or draw tomorrow then it starts to look like a trend.

Keep your fingers crossed that we have an easy day tomorrow.

23 Sep 2016 13:53:05
Correct muscatred, I agree with what you've said in principle but I don't think the sky will fall in if we don't win the game, for some people and the media it will, but personally I just blank them now as it's just knee jerk reactions for me. Hopefully your right and it's an easy day, but they've played quite well so far so I'm not counting my chickens on that one.

23 Sep 2016 15:50:07
I don't understand how, beating top team after top team then loosing to burnley beating top team after top team then not beating hull at anfield can be a knee jerk reaction. It's a pattern that needs addressing. The media don't talk about it because it's a figment of their imagination, they talk about it because it's what we do.

Just my opinion of course.

Having said that I think we will cut through hull like a hot knife through butter.

23 Sep 2016 16:19:45
Well said Waro. the sky won't fall in and we're bound to have slip ups, and Klopp deserves to be judged over more than just Burnley and Hull (even though I think we should put Hull to be), especially since we played so well in other games.

I reckon over 5-7 games against the so-called "second tier", we will see Klopp has added a more clinical edge through the additions of Mane and Wijnaldum and playing in the new 4-3-3.

23 Sep 2016 18:06:17
You are right, Waro. Nothing will be lost or won if we beat/ don`t beat Hull tmrw. I just think many are anxious to see if we have turned the corner regarding consistency as that is what is needed right now. After 10 games, we will have a better picture of where we are, IMO.

24 Sep 2016 02:10:56
How will beating 1 team prove we have turned a corner? think the keyboard fans need to turn a corner. 1 min we're fave for the league next we're finished. Obviously some of you actually believe the crap you write makes sensešŸ˜„.

24 Sep 2016 02:10:56

23 Sep 2016 07:22:19
Predictions for the Hull game?

They've done a bit better then some expected. But on the day, at anfield and against this squad I think we'll slam them.

5-1.

Believable10 Unbelievable1

23 Sep 2016 08:56:22
I'm going 6-0.

23 Sep 2016 09:42:42
I'd be happy with a comfortable 2-0.

4-0 if Karius plays.
4-3 if migs plays.
Only messing I can see it being 2 or 3-1.

Up the pool.

Well yeah I agree i'd be happy with 3 points so 1 nil would do me. But I feel we'll breeze past them and score more.

Perfect game for Karius to start so let's hope he's put on.

I'm going for 3-0.

3-1. Phelan will set them up well but we'll break them down and when we get ahead, pick them off as they try to get something.

I`ll just be happy with three points and a clean sheet.

Eds. I am from the states so do not get to watch the youth teams much at all. Can you give me your take on the Ben Woodburn?

Seems a player.

Thanks.
