I have been very impressed with Di Matteo's West Brom side. They play good attacking football and it is getting them the results. I would like this guy at our club. I think he has a good amount of experience for a fairly young manager and he has had a lot of success in England.

23 Oct 2010 22:50:55
Realistic Managers

1. Frank Rijkaard
2. Roberto Di Matteo
3. Manuel Pellegrini
4. Bert Van Marjwilk
5. Slaven Bilic

Personally out of these 5, I'd pick Di Matteo. He's young, ambitious, knows the premiership well due to playing in it for many seasons, did a great job at MK Dons in League One, Moved to West Brom, did well with them last season, and again is showing his ability in the Premiership with them and would have more of an affinity with the fans & the players.

Anyone agree?

To all you people backing hogdeson : do you people have any idea how hard it is to defend your team knowing they are 19th in their league? Its disgraceful. Liverpool are officially the laughing stock of world football! How often do you see inter, real madrid, bayern, barca, ac milan, lyon, benfica and so many great teams in their own respective countries 2nd from bottom in their leagues? I ADORE LFC and i love everything this club stands for, but lets face it people. We have an excellent team but the wrong man in charge. Gerrard, torres, pepe, agger, aurelio, mereleis, johnson(sigh), jovanovic(sigh), cole, kuyt, pacheco, mavinga, shelvey, wilson, sterling, jesus fernandez, jones, ecclestone. Those are way too many good to great players for us to be considered an average squad and in "a relegation battle" as quoted by our manager. Bottom line is, great team but average manager. No offence roy.

Man . Believe me! Roy is insane . dis guy surely needs some treatment!

how can the board keep him after the his comments like . it would be unfair to play Kelly and keeping Kyrgiakos or Skrtel on bench! ! ! ! Maaaannnn . you have to play players on the right positions to get the best out of em . please tell Roy about this . or he would start using Kyrgiakos as Striker. he hass beeen soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo wrong with his tactics . and yet he says, the team played very well. how he wants the team to be? . an average defensive team?

I watched Wolves today against Chelsea, though they lost, but em nt sure we do play that kind of football like Wolves do .! It hurts badlyyy when i see the team play like this and lose and draw each tym . just look at the league table . WBA is 4th! :0 . ! and mighty LIVERPOOL . 19th :'( .

I can easily say we do have a decent squad! . Jova looks pacey . wheneve he comes he attacks more. . has good techniques but each tym roy don't put him in starting line up! wth . never have beeen soo disappointed with Liverpool . :'(

if its possible that if we loose tommorrow and roy gets sacked then be it . i would rather pray for losing one than to just have hope of getting seasong back on track each week! .

Roy . please if you are reading this . its my humble request to you . Please resign . pleasssee! for team for fans. and for yourself tooo . you are just not good enoughH!. Pleaseee . . em feeling like You are a coy of H&G! . and they want to take revenge through you! . sooo please RESIGN!

If iam to believe what i have red, the boston redsox are the second highest spending team in their league, now i know that they are not arabs or russians with limitless wealth, but i do believe that nesv won't be shy on spending on a/ player/ s as long as it is viable and would be a purchase to take the team forward, not a purchase based on a famous name, and that's where stats come into it because if there is a cheaper option who can perform as well that will be the rout they take, they won't be silly with money, but i am sure they will buy to progress!

23 Oct 2010 21:22:19

This is my first post as a female, but passionate liverpool FC fan. i feel it's time to make my feelings clear.
IT'S TIME TO BACK YOUR TEAM LADS, YOUR MANAGER, THE CLUB & THE PLAYERS! Instead of slagging off, talking of ridiculous transfers, & who the next manager is going to be - SUPPORT YOUR CLUB - LIVERPOOL FC! ! Then maybe we can get back on track where this fabulous club should be - AT THE TOP!

23 Oct 2010 21:05:56

Players can only play as good as the manager will let, if you are shackled what can you do, play them in there positions and take the shackles off.
If a manager is going to hold a player back then you are not going to see the best. The deffensive play that we are doing now is putting to much strain on the deffenders, deffending with 11 men is just asking for trouble, if the ball is cleared where does it go? I on`t have the answers and unfortunatly I don't think Roy does, but after tommorow I think it should be anounced that he is leaving th club and , if needbe , put Kenny incharge for a few matches while a replacement has been settled in.
Yes some of the blame is on the players but if your an attacking midfield then that's where you should play.
Johnson on wing and Kelly in his place and maybe try N`gog and torres upfront, can't be any worse than what we got now

Will get slagged for this, but Lucas should be given more opps to get forward, he enjoys it and given the oppertunitys would be good for liverpool.
Play them where they enjoy playing and see them mature
The squad is there just held back, yes 2 or 3 additions would be better but give the players the riegns and watch them flurish. Ed?
sorry for the spelling

23 Oct 2010 20:48:12

Hodgson does not know what he is doing from one match to the next , week in week out you can see it in the players faces and performances that they don't want to play the way he tells them to, they know they are out of position etc. but he's the boss and they only do as they are told to!

The blame for our position is 50 - 50 between Roy and the Players. It pains me to watch the boring, negative football we have been playing for some time now, even under Rafas last months.

Maxi is terrible, poulsen too. Jovanovic looked ok pre-season but now seems to have sunk with the rest of the teams poor morale.

I would prefer to see some playes like Amoo or Eccleston deployed out wide with Babel each game in the hope that they may actually use their pace and attack the full back.

Every ball we play seems to be backwards or at best sideways. We have no pace at all in our squad - including Torres. Yes, he has been injured, but he looks so deflated with life at LFC at the moment.

I would prefer now to buy wisely. By this I mean, spend a lot of money on proven players rather than try to fix all of our problems in one or 2 windows. The 4 or 5 players we seem to buy each summer, always seem to be shipped out within 12 months.

Someone commented on thinking that Everton would beat us last week. I see all teams beating us until something radical happens. Look at Blackpool, why would you write them off against us? DJ Campbell has bags of pace and Varney and Adam are good players.

BUY WIDTH, BUY PACE AND BUY PROVEN QUALITY THATS NOT SHIPPED OUT WITHIN 12 MONTHS!

It does beg the question who our scouts are to think Voronin, Dossena, Itandje, Poulsen, Ngog and co are any good.

Believe if you feel my pain and agree.

In 18 months would be a great squad player and he would allow us to sell poulsen and Lucas to fund more attacking players

Plus he's said to be a famy lad and this would put him a little trip down the 62

Any support?

I just had a look at our fixtures up to xmas. As far as i can see if hodgson is to "save his job" he must get 8 wins from the next 10 league fixtures. I say 8 not 10 because chelsea, even at home, is a fixture no club would 'expect' to win. And spurs away is a tricky fixture for anyone. The rest of the games are those from which i think we should expect nothing less than a victory. As such there is no way roy is going to last because there is no way we can win any of our next 10 league games playing the way we are.

I think (even if we manage to beat blackburn & bolton) the visit of chelsea will be roy's last game in charge. We will get destroyed in front of our own fans by the team we are looking to emulate and the owners will finally see just how hard this is going to be if we continue to be managed using negative, rigid, toothless tactics.

So the bad news is we will continue to suffer, but the good news is that this suffering is necessary to bring change and shouldn't last too much longer.

Months after getting rid of Hicks, The Texas Rangers have made it to the World Series, having just beaten the New York Yankees in the American League Play-offs.

See. once he's gone there is always a brighter future. . Here's hoping Liverpool turn it around soon!

Not a rumour but does anyone agree Alan smith is worth considering? I know he's ex Leeds and manure but has several good points
He's crap
Has pride passion drive and talent in abundance
He's crap
Can play in any central midfield role
He's crap
Has played for England as a striker and who would be better at holding the ball up and playing in Torres or waiting for the midfield to join
He's crap
He would not be expensive
He's crap
In 18 months would be a great squad player and he would allow us to sell poulsen and Lucas to fund more attacking players
He's crap
Plus he's said to be a famy lad and this would put him a little trip down the 62
But he's still crap! !

Hey ed which of our youngsters would you put on the level of wilshire at arsenal or rodwell from the other side would you say that shelvey spearing amoo and pacheco are all up there? ?

{Editor's Note: It is difficult to compare players in such a way, but Shelvey shows a level of maturity and confidence that leads me to believe that he is going to shine in the future.}

We need to win by 3 clear goals to even get out of the bottom 3 tomorrow.
Even that will only be one place above and the team directly below us will have a game in hand!

The way we are playing I think the most we will get is a draw against Blackburn, a draw at Bolton and a loss to Chelsea.

I predict we will be pulling clear at the bottom of the table, as we will only have 8 points after 11 games.

That is relagation form for any team.

I am really worried! ! !

Wo senior officials of New England Sports Ventures have been appointed as members of the Liverpool board and will be at Anfield tomorrow for the Reds' match against Blackburn.

David Ginsberg, one of NESV's two vice-chairmen, and investor Michael Gordon have been appointed as club directors and will be at the match alongside new co-owner Tom Werner.

John W Henry, the principal owner of NESV, is unable to travel to the UK this weekend due to illness.

Henry said however: "Sunday promises to be a special day at Anfield in more ways than one. I'll be watching the game from home and although I have only been here for a few days, I already miss Anfield.

"We are hard at work setting a course for the future including the search for a chief executive officer.
"I wish the club and the fans all the best for the match against Blackburn."

Boston Red Sox chief operating officer Sam Kennedy will also be part of the NESV delegation at Anfield tomorrow.

"Sunday promises to be a special day at Anfield in more ways than one". . this line could be interesting though

I am not a Benitez fan and certainly don't want him back. But I can't help thinking that we'd be at least 5 or 6 points better off this season if he'd been in charge."

Possibly, but we'd also be one or two star players lighter. After replacing Alonso with Aquilani would you trust him to replace the other key figures?
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
he wouldn't of needed to. because i feel he would have kept aquilani also persuade masch to stay, and got a better left back than wht roy got and possibly got mavinga and pacheco onto the bench on a regular basis."

I was talking about Gerrard and/ or Torres in particular - would you trust them to have been adequately replaced given Rafa turned down numerous Madrid players in part ex for Alonso in favour of a lightweight injured man who wouldn't kick a ball for six months of the season? Also, given Masch was pushing for an exit whilst Benitez was in charge, what makes you think he'd have stayed? A good DM, but he proved he'd say anything, even using his family to engineer a move, and suddenly professed his admiration for Benitez after spending large parts of the previous transfer window desperately trying to engineer a move away from him. Aquilani is too lightweight for this league and one of the great crimes during Benitez's tenure was his lack of blooding youngsters - he continued to use Lucas out of position at DM instead of taking a risk on Spearing, do you believe he'd now suddenly choose to utilise talented youngsters when he's never shown such a want in 6 years? I think it's time for Hodgson to go, but keeping Benitez wouldn't necessarily have put us in a better position.

Gettin a bit sick of people say give the youngsters chance and then go and list several playerrs they want buying in january. I think that we are 2 world class players and 2 top end premier leaugue players away from having a good team. This sounds obvious and silly comment but people saying they would only keep reina, carragher, gerrard and torres are deluded.

So far this season when I have seen kelly play for example i have been very impressed. I don't see the need for another right back to be bought so don't know why van der wiel is being listed as a target or wanted by some of the fans.

I would like to see a new CB, LM, ST and creative attack minded player at the club come january.

If i was manager I would do something like this:

out:

Lucas
Babel
Poulsen
Rodriguez
Sotirios Kyrgiakos

These players would hopefully generate about 20m

in:

Chiellini
Muntari
Honda
Llorente (1st choice)/ Benzema (2nd)/ Milito (3rd) - dependant who we can get all realistic i think.

I think all these players are realistic and would raise the standard of our squad and also please alot of the current players.

This should then leave us with a squad looking like this:

GK: Reina, Jones

DEF: Johnson, Kelly, Carragher, Skrtel, Agger, Konchesky, Aurelio, Darby.

MID: Meireles, Gerrard, Cole, Spearing, Muntari, Honda, Shelvey, Amoo

FWD: Torres, Llorente, Jovanovic, Kuyt, Ngog, Pacheco.

People will question which category some players I have gone in but this is what I believe to be the strongest position for the players listed.

Considering the game on thursday I would like to see this team against blackburn:

Reina

Kelly Carragher Agger Aurellio

Gerrard Spearing Meireles Shelvey

Jovanovic Torres

Subs:

Jones, Johnson, Skrtel, Amoo, Cole, Pacheco, Kuyt.

Good Balance to the team and also gives us plenty of options on the bench.

23 Oct 2010 14:37:57

Liverpool need to apply less defensive midfielders into the pitch. We need to be lightened by attacking play. We play like we are in preschool. We need to make sure the goalkeepers don't spill the ball. WE are one of the top clubs in the region. We are England's version of Real Madrid. Forget what is written in booklets. The ball must be placed into the net and it increases the likelihood of goals. Torres has a thirst for goals.

Who agrees?

Liverpool should sign

A grassy forward. A player who loves the turf

A midfielder on a mission

A defender who is not gloomy

A full back who makes less mistakes

A winger who eclipses expectations.

23 Oct 2010 14:18:41

People please stop complaining about who we are 'supposed' to be looking at, there is no way on this earth we could compete with anybody like Arsenal, Everton, Man Ure or Chavski. Why would a player choose us over a champions league / Premier league challenging side?
We need to spend time re-building and re-establishing our identity, sort out the manager (whether he's going or staying) then lets not forget NESV are not going to plough obscene amounts of money in so we need to off load our dead wood and who is gonna pay anything like we have for players like Babel or Aquaman?
We have a mid table manager with alot of mid table players that play like championship players, if you were someone like Aguero watching our season unfold would you come? lets re establish our identity first.

What say the Ed's? {ed's note - I agree mate, time to just steady the ship and get things moving in the right direction.}

Im sick and tired of morons like allardyce taking pot shots at Our club, You know who your friends are when the going gets tough.Howard kendall, allardyce, redknapp are all going to own us an engraved apology. And all this talk of changing manager's 8 games in is rubbish, get behind the team or f*ck off youre giving real fans a bad name.Liverpool fans always backed there managers and were not gonna start calling for there heads now especially after only 8 games. If you don't like go to eastlands, im sure they will be changing managers reguarlery.

in responce to this. . al i can say is do you got ot the match? hodgeson has had a cpl ov relagating battles and for 1 can see him going through another if liverpool decide to keep him. does lfc meen so little to you to sit back and watch what is going on and do nothin. i have never in all my years called for a mangers head , but we have always had a manger that had us up ther or ther abouts. with roy we have a manger that will that will have us down bottom or ther abouts and i form am not going to call for managers head at game but i will say he needs to go. the sooner a new manger comes in the sooner he can start to get team playing the way we should do.

Well Roy won't say anything back. But I loved it when rafa said:
"'They do that because they find it more difficult to do their job. He (Allardyce) is a model for all the managers round the world. I'm sure his style of play and behaviour is the perfect model for all kids and managers everywhere.
'I'm sure parents everywhere will enjoy this model and tell their kids, "This is how it should be done." In fact, I believe Barcelona are thinking about copying this style."

Rafa clearly picked up some typical english humor during his time at pool and he beat allardayce . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Well as Allardyce said he is ''good enough'' to manage barsa or real, tw#t he can't get two words out of his mouth without saying when i was at Bolton WGAF.What about when you was at Newcastle, he's bitter because no real football club will ever look at him

ED can someone just summarize what Bale said about LFC he has played in my FM team for years and won countless trophies but I gave him the boot cos of these statements but the squad is weaker WHAT DID HE SAY CAN I FORGIVE HIM?

Sorry I have retreated into a fantasy world on FM due to the fact LFCs current reality is to hard to bear.

WE WON IT 12 TIMES!

23 Oct 2010 12:28:07

I think that we should lay off hodgson. I am watching the rabotinicki game and he got
it all right. Playing cole behind the striker and he got man of the match. Playin Kelly at full back. Jovanovic on the left. This should be our team:

reina

Kelly/ Johnson
carragher
agger/ skrtel
konchesky

kuyt
meireles
gerrard
jovanovic

cole

torres

bench:jones, agger/ skrtel, aurelio, poulsen, maxi, Lucas, ngog

with this squad we will do really well! Joe cole is much beret behind the striker

YES! !

23 Oct 2010 12:16:50

Liverpool need to apply less defensive midfielders into the pitch. We need to be lightened by attacking play. We play like we are in preschool. We need to make sure the goalkeepers don't spill the ball. WE are one of the top clubs in the region. We are England's version of Real Madrid. Forget what is written in booklets. The ball must be placed into the net and it increases the likelihood of goals. Torres has a thirst for goals.

Who agrees?

Although I am baffled by Hodgson I must say I am more than peed off with the players. A couple telling Ed RH will be leaving soon. It is quite clear that is rather in hope than fact. Ed you should turn it back on them and tell them they are disgrace. They get paid thousands and should put in a shift in every week quite clearly they are not at present. Also if they want to leave fine have the bottle to say so. The only potential they have at present is potentially to part of a squad that gets relegated. They will be remembered for all the wrong reasons at Anfield. Quite clearly these 2 players should not be putting on a red shirt but hey if they want to hide behind you and allow you to spread cowardly rumours then I want them out. Week in week out we are slating Hodgson and he is taking stick why don't you name the players and at least we can start telling them what we think of there own performances. Doubt it though - Cowards With No Bottle. I am not happy with Hodgson like the rest but the players also should be taking reponsibility

Thanks to Ferguson for giving Rooney a payrise to 250k per week, will now have rippling effect to other clubs. Torres will rightly say " hang on I'm better than him" then will require a better payrise the Gerrard will say " I'm mr Liverpool" and he'll want one etc etc. Cheers mr Ferguson for hckn up the EPL

Just a quick question to every1, lets just say roy plays his normal boring football on sunday and we scrape a win (i.e own goal or a bit of luck) does he get another chance. for me the napoli game summed up liverpool under roy, very negative to say the least. for christ sake SHOW SOME BELLS.
hope gerrard and meireles in the middle, thought shelvey was ok when he played on the right towards the end and any1 on the left. then cole behind nando. ed any thoughts

FOr once i want the blue noses to win today and shut that cockney monkey up and start him "twitching" on the sidelines

As i said last night, lets make this utter Tw4t pay when he visits anfield.

Also i think its time LFC made a public statement to Spuds telling him to worry about his pending court case (the dodgy to553r) not bout what's happening in L4

It seems to me that Drenthe, who is currently on loan at Hercles, has a come and get me sign on his back. He caused us no end of problems when he played against us with his skill and his enthusiasm and energy. Perfect left sided midfielder and can even play Left back although a bit wasted there, what do you think Ed?

Sooty {ed's note - I believe he has attitude problems and extremely high wage demands, hence why he is still a Real Madrid player.}

I do think the high wages could be a problem, but the Attitude could be a good thing if aimed in the right direction, you have a ready made pain in the arse to all other teams. .

Editor whether you post this or not am not sure. this is my fifth post in a week and i haven't seen the previous ones on the wall.
Any-who, i have already started loosing my appetite for Sundays game when i read what our manger said. its completely absurd to see a player like Kelly play the way he did in midweek and not being given a chance because he isn't too old. for other managers its the other way around. People talk about 8 games are too small and everything. but here he made another mistake on the 9th one. see who we will have at the back. carragher right back, skertel and the greek will pass the long balls to torres and it is gonna be another disappointing performance in Anfield. A good manager won't make decisions with fear, he will go for what he feels is right. Roy knows, Kelly is a better Right back than carragher don't know why he made these decisions. i hope it pays off for the sake of him and our club. He is using Rafa's system while he has no clue on how implement it. The system he had with fulham was everbody gets organised, know their positions, work hard on their roles and just play the ball with no urgency and pressure. i don't think that works for a big club like Liverpool who need to fight, play good football and win all the time not when the opportunity comes. we don't want to play not loose. we want to play to win all the time.

ABSOLUTELY. I AM SICK OF THIS MYTH CALLED SAM ALLARDYCE, AND ALSO THE MYTH THAT HE CONSISTENTLY BEAT LIVERPOOL UNDER RAFA.
ALLARDYCE WAS A VERY POOR PLAYER AND A LIMITED MANAGER.

Is it wrong to hope for a defeat in a match that will keep us in the bottom 3 in the hope that change can be made before its too late?? what happens if we win against blackburn and then get a few good results that take us up the table and keep roy in his job but not enough to challenge for honours but just enough so roy can waste money in jan on players that probably won't be good enough?? ed do u think this could be possible?

{Editor's Note: I think it is a disgrace that a so called supporter is hoping his club lose.}

23 Oct 2010 09:28:31

Another defensive line up already announced, no kelly at right back so will play carragher out of position. Nice one Roy how about putting the tea lady in goal and the ball boys up front. We don't need experience we need youth and hunger not that you'd realise that when you're hiding your face on the sideline. What a muppet! !

23 Oct 2010 09:26:22

There are people talking about waiting until after the Chelsea game to replace RH. I'm not sure this is viable. It is effective the end of October after today's game, with Bolton away on the last day of the month. First, we could be bottom by then (as others here have stated). More important IMHO is it doesn't leave a lot of time for any incoming manager to do a proper job of assessing the squad, seeing who can be improved e.g. Babel?, what the priorities are for positions to strengthen, and then work out what the viable options are to target in a tricky January transfer window. All at a time when we could be in the same boat as Spurs a couple of years ago and most of his effort would be focused on getting results on the pitch.

If we are going to fire Roy, I'd rather it be done now. Give the new man as much time as possible, save money by exercising the clause in Roy's contract, and not least putting the bloke out of his misery - he constantly looks like his favourite dog has just died.

This is from the Daily Mail today. So maybe the bookies have got it wrong.

"Hodgson has also had to contend with reports that his job is about to be offered to Frank Rijkaard, but Sportsmail understands the former Barcelona coach is in no hurry to return to management after leaving Galatasaray on Wednesday.

Family matters are taking precedence at his home in Amsterdam, after a week that has included the death of his father and birth of his first child with his current partner, and he is unlikely to consider  another managerial post until the new year."

I am not a Benitez fan and certainly don't want him back. But I can't help thinking that we'd be at least 5 or 6 points better off this season if he'd been in charge.

23 Oct 2010 09:16:10

When torres was asked who is his best strike partner he has played with he said steven gerrard. not david villa not lorente! the problem is when gerrard starts upfront, he gets frustrated by the side ways passing and drops deep to get on the ball to try and make something happen, the only problem then is the huge gap between torres and the rest of the midfield. xabi alonso has been a huge miss for us, he was the play maker, and mach broke everything down allowing stevie to play in behind nando. so personally i agree with the post about torres not needing a srtike partner, instead we need a xabi style player in midfield, to play the ball forward so gerrard doesn't drop off. we need a hard working dm and a creative player next to him. 4 2 3 1 is the best liverpool have played for years, torres scored a hat full and so did gerrard. team for nxt year.

reina
kelly mexes agger taiwo
banega mereiles
sanchez gerrard turan
torres

both players in the defensive midfield are creative, theres pace and skill on the wing, the denfence shud be more solid and the deadly duo up front should be back to scoring ways
ur thoughts ed?

{Editor's Note: Playing two defensive midfield players and two wide players leaves the whole of the midfield unprotected. No team can ever expect to change seven players overnight and expect them to play together either.}

In reality Inter thrashed Spurs last night. Rafa completely out thought Redknapp tactically. The scoreline was made respectable by 1 very good Spurs player.
But can you imagine if Rafa had taken Liverpool to Inter last season and been beaten in such a manner, what would the West ham, Spurs supporting London TV, Radio and press have said. It just shows how Redknapp is the current media darling and the bias against Liverpool.
Reddknapp is nothing more than a reasonably good manager who can only take a club so far. Benitez on the other hand has an excellent record in European competitions. Yet Redknapp keeps making stupid comments supporting Tom Hicks about the finance he had from Hicks' back pocket.
Both Redknapp Snr and Jnr are both becoming hate figures for Liverpool fans, continually making totally incorrect comments about the club.
The media ought to be looking into why Harry Redknapp and Kevin Bond are regularly seen in a north London branch of WH Smith making regular purchases of Large A4 brown envelopes. I wonder why?
- - - - - - - - - - - - - -
THE MYSTERY WORLD OF MR HARRY REDKNAPP. CAN'T WAIT FOR THE PETER STORRIE TRIAL TO UNMASK ALL THOSE 'DODGY' DEALS THAT REDKNAPP WAS INVOLVED IN. THE WORD 'BUNG' COMES TO MIND.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
H.Redknapp again making incorrect comments about the managerial position at Liverpool today. It's getting absolutely ridiculous the regularity of these comments from the Redknapps about Liverpool.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
PORTSMOUTH FC COULD BE LIQUIDATED AND CLOSED DOWN ON MONDAY! SURELY EVERY TV STATION, RADIO STATION AND NEWSPAPER SHOULD BE LOOKING INTO THE ROLE REDKNAPP PLAYED IN THIS. BUT THEY WON'T BECAUSE HE IS THE CURRENT MEDIA DARLING.
BUT HE IS PARTLY TO BLAME. HE BOUGHT PLAYERS THEY COULD NOT AFFORD AND PAID THEM HIGH WAGES THEY COULD NOT AFFORD.
MR REDKNAPP LOOK AT PORTSMOUTH AND YOUR ROLE IN THEIR COLLAPSE RATHER THAN THIS CONSTANT CRITICSM OF LIVERPOOL! !

The demise of blackburn rovers, by roy hodgson-from league champions to relegation:
Roy Hodgson joined the club from Inter Milan in the summer of 1997, and appeared to have had a positive effect on the club. He marked his arrival with the signings of highly rated Swedish striker Martin Dahlin and promising defender Stephane Henchoz. Chris Sutton and Kevin Gallacher led a prolific attack, and were able to help the team overcome the disappointing form of Dahlin, who struggled with a back injury. UEFA cup football was secured with a 6th place finish, and there were plenty of entertaining games, such as a 4-3 defeat to Leeds which saw all 7 goals coming within the first 32 minutes, and a 5-3 success over Leicester at Ewood Park. Although some of these results went against them, it summed up Hodgson's newly installed attacking ideology. With European football coming up, and the prospect of a title challenge on the horizon, things looked promising at the start of the 1998-99 season.

However, Rovers made a poor start to the campaign and Hodgson was sacked in December less than an hour after a 2-0 home defeat to bottom side Southampton, a result that locked Rovers in the relegation zone. The £7.5m signing of young Southampton striker Kevin Davies was a disaster, with Davies only netting once, against Charlton in a rare win, in 24 games. To make matters worse, team captain and midfield enforcer Tim Sherwood was sold to Tottenham Hotspur, leaving the side without a leader. Brian Kidd, the hugely successful Manchester United assistant manager, was named as Hodgson's successor. However, he could not save them as the club slipped away, relegation was confirmed with a scoreless draw at home to Manchester United in the penultimate game of the season. So, just four years after lifting the Premier League title, Blackburn Rovers were now back in the second tier of English Football.
and if we don't act now he will do the same to us!

Agree with the first part of your post but the part about Roy and giving him more time! are you deluded, did it ever occur to you that in the past we stuck by our managers because after 8 games or 28 games we could see things were being done the Liverpool way, even Souness who I feel set the club back yrs was 100% better than this clown. Roy has go to go now.
