Why do people keep comparing us to Chelsea? They have had a ridiculously easy run of games the last few weeks. The only tough opposition they faced, WE beat them 2-1 at Stamford bridge and Arsenal hammered them 3-0. I am not worried about Chelsea in terms of title rivals. They are a good side but in 2 weeks time we will be back ahead of them. They have Spurs and City next, we have Sunderland and Bournemouth.

City are still the biggest threat if we consider ourselves title rivals. Even they still need to play us though! We've played against every Champions League hopeful except City and the majority of them, we played away from home.

Make Anfield a fortress now, and we are in a great position. Stop focusing on other teams. Only team we should be worrying about right now is Sunderland. Win your next game and league position sorts itself out.

You should be worried though.

6 games 17 goals 6 clean sheets, a system that works, players improving confidence and no Europe.

Spot on, MK. Chelsea is also a more experienced team than us even tho, Klopp has experience in winning things as well as Conte does. The difference is that Conte had the best team in Italy while Klopp was going against a monster team in Bayern and beating them to titles and Cups. The core players who won the PL with Chelsea in 2015 are still there so they have a leg up on us on that front. However as Klopp has shown, you have to win the PL on the pitch and during games and that to me, is the big equalizer. Personally, CL footie should be our focus for now. The title? We`ll see what happens after CL footie is secured.

Co7ldnt agree more mate.

Ridiculous post I'm afraid, chelsea like every other team can only beat who's put in front of them and they're currently doing so. That's all that matters if you want to wun titles.

23 Nov 2016 17:02:31
I think they're playing excellent, but they will soon be found out. Their form is just that, form.

I believe they have holes in their squad that will soon be found out, players such as alonso, cahill, luiz, moses, azpilicueta out of position, pedro, these players will be found out sooner or later.

I think the groundwork for a great team is there and their recent form shows that, but i do not think they have what it takes to win the title, and will be hot and cold for much of the season. Top 4 would be a realistic target for them.

23 Nov 2016 17:22:57
Purple patch for Chelsea. They won't win the league.

23 Nov 2016 17:33:47
PakRed. The only time we should worry about Chelski is when we play them. Any other time it's a waste of emotion. Why worry about what you can't control? In Istanbul. so by your logic we should just focus on Sunderland. I would agree with that.
If our players thought about Chelsea as much as our fans do, they'd be putting themselves under a lot more pressure.

23 Nov 2016 15:22:03
Ridiculously easy? The Champions, Utd, Southampton and Everton? Dude, they've score 17 goals without reply in their last 6 games, whichever way you cut it they're the form team in the league right now.

23 Nov 2016 17:16:56
Couldnt disagree more, they have recent experience of winning the title and are confident and playing well. They are a dangerous side and i think it will be close run between us and them with us winning it obviously.

23 Nov 2016 18:15:03
To score 17 goals without conceding is a brilliant achievement no mere fluke.

23 Nov 2016 18:20:42
Their system is fundamentally flawed. We've seen it time and time again a team goes to 3 at the back and has an upturn in form until they get found out and drop like a stone. We will finish above Chelsea I have no doubt. Whether that will be enough for the title I'm not sure but I'm looking forward to finding out.

23 Nov 2016 18:59:32
Agree with pips except I think we will win the league.

23 Nov 2016 19:11:26
Me too Ron, there's no team in the league that really worries me.

Leicester are getting smashed by everyone, and United and Everton are mid table teams ;)

No team with Cahill, Luiz and Moses playing can claim to be impenetrable!

We will see though I guess.

23 Nov 2016 19:26:25
Yeah ParkRed, it's true
, we should tremble and fear becuase we did not score the last game we played! Big deal.

23 Nov 2016 20:25:08
regarding Chelsea's three at the back being found out, don't we play a similar formation when our fullbacks push forward and hendo or cann drop deep, everything is fluid the only time all our players are in their positions is when the TV shows the squad with little red checkers pre kick off.

23 Nov 2016 21:37:47
You got that bang on Marko
David Luis plays the deep midfield role with both Magic and Kante acting as the B2B players.

23 Nov 2016 21:47:55
I believe Chelsea are a threat all the time Costa is available. If he is missing I don't know that they have enough options of the same quality. The advantage we have is that we have a proven PL goal scorer waiting in the wings, as well as Origi who I believe has the ability to be excellent given a run of games.

Banter please.

In lieu of our next draw or (whatever you believe in God, Gods anything else) forbid a loss.

Can you confirm the number of teams in the last 50 years that have picked up maximum points in every game and won the league?

To my knowledge only aresnal have remained undefeated for a season and that included draws - 1 every in every 3 games = think about that ;o)

Think Milan and Juventus have both went through a league campaign undefeated - Milan's in the 91/ 92 season being especially creditable the standard of Serie A at that time being very, very high. Juve's in 11/ 12 is not quite as impressive given the quality of Serie A at that time.

23 Nov 2016 07:12:14
Preston North End did it when I were a lad int' good ole days.

23 Nov 2016 09:30:21
Ron must be older than Ed025 then ☺️.

{Ed001's Note - only Ed003 is older than Ed025. Ed003 is older than time itself.}

23 Nov 2016 13:27:17
That AC Milan team of 91/ 92 was really something. I flew down to see a couple of games. Ancelotti was in that team; Maldini, Rijkaard and Gullit too. And Van Basten's last season. Magical times.

23 Nov 2016 15:01:21
That AC Milan team had legends almost all over the pitch. From the back four (Maldini, Costacurta, Baresi and Tassotti) who were all starts in the Italian national team, to Donadoni, Gullit, and Rijkaard in midfield, to the great Marco Van Basten in attack and with Marco Simone and Demetreo Albertini as youngsters coming up. That team went 58 league games unbeaten until a free kick from Asprilla for Parma ended it in 92/ 93 season. That team was the reason I support Milan even till today.

23 Nov 2016 17:23:28
I really admired that ac milan team, was a fan of van basten and gullit, remember the van basten volley from an extremely acute angle that went in the top corner, excellent player. Second best dutch player ever behind cryuff of course.

23 Nov 2016 19:24:43
Funny you mention that, Barnez because Marco is considered the 2nd best player ever to come out of the revered Ajax academy, after Cruyff. And strongly considered as simply, the best and most complete CF to ever play the game, period. He and/ or the Brazilian Ronaldo own that spot, IMO.
