Can the Eds shed any light on the Gerrard situation? Any chance of a return?

22 Oct 2016 23:41:30
Would he be a good influence?

Anyone get the impression that Klopp isn't interested?

Love Gerrard and he was one of the best, but if he was given a role, then surely it would be far away from the training ground.

23 Oct 2016 00:02:38
In the best interest of Liverpool Football Club. I sincerely hope that Jurgen Klopp is NOT interested in having Gerrard anywhere near. He's history and let it remain that way.
Klopp is a breath of fresh air to our beloved Club. There seems to be a fantastic atmosphere amongst the players. No one is the big ' I Am ' anymore.
Let's keep moving forward, and not being dragged backwards!
Time to move on. and be grateful that we have a fantastic Manager, as well as all the Staff he's chosen to work with him.

23 Oct 2016 01:02:21
Gerrard should stay exactly where he is.

23 Oct 2016 02:01:32
I don't want him back as a coach or anything else.

23 Oct 2016 10:51:20
Hey that's not right now. Despite all that is spoken on here, of which most may be true, we have to remember he stayed loyal and gave liverpool his best days (years) when he couldve left to win trophies with any club he wanted.

Who knows where liverpool would have landed up if Gerrard hadnt stayed with the club.

And now people don't want him back even in a coaching role?

23 Oct 2016 11:48:58
Its a bit Randy Ryan at Utd.

If Stevie wants to be a top coach drop down the leagues build your team to suit that divisions style of play and build your credibility.

Sometimes the great players who things came naturally to don't make great coachs as they did not struggle to make the grade and so find it impossible to lead players to be the finished article.

Stevie is and always will be a Liverpool legend and I hope he does make it as a coach and cimes back to us in 5- years time if and when it suits the club.
But it has to be earned.

22 Oct 2016 22:49:54
Was there a hand shake with Klopp and Pulis after the match? Saw Klopp shake WBA staff, but not TPs

Just miss it or not happen?

Believable2 Unbelievable5

22 Oct 2016 23:42:29
I thought that Pulis Gareth Baled after the match, and who would blame him after that performance?

22 Oct 2016 23:48:28
Didn't happen Pulis went straight down the tunnel.

23 Oct 2016 00:05:36
Klopp looked to shake hands with Pulis at the end. but it looked like Pulis had already . ' left the scene '

23 Oct 2016 01:04:56
Cos he got completely owned by Klopp even tho the scoreline sadly for us, does not reflect that. Stone Age football lost again and long may it continue.

22 Oct 2016 22:25:32
As we didn't win last week it would be great if we dedicated this win to little Xavier. This one was for you little man.

Spot on mate.

23 Oct 2016 01:05:23
Absolutely, Irish.

23 Oct 2016 03:16:11
Hey irishrover. Thanks so much for that support. Even tho the game was on 2.30 am here in brisbane i still get up to watch it.

This post really touched me all the support from you all.

23 Oct 2016 07:29:31
To Xavier. You'll never walk alone.

23 Oct 2016 21:39:19
I agree to Xavier the win was for you . YNWA.

22 Oct 2016 21:04:40
Glen Hoddle "they need to start doing it against the big teams" . Unbeaten against Arsenal Chelsea Spurs United and last seasons champions, I see your point Glen.

Believable21 Unbelievable4

22 Oct 2016 22:02:45
He obviously does even know who we've played. He tried to correct it on the after show but everyone knew he ****ed up.

At least the sky lit know their stuff.

22 Oct 2016 22:07:51
Annoyed me too!

He just talks rubbish half the time.

22 Oct 2016 22:24:50
Only half the time? I was waiting for him to slip in the "West brom must have been terrible people in their past life" comment!

22 Oct 2016 23:06:39
It was worse. He actually said they've done it against the small teams but I want to see them play like that against "arsenal, chelseas and city's". Shocked tbh haha

Smashed arsenal, comfortably beat Chelsea and ripped city a new one twice last year in the prem.

22 Oct 2016 23:23:30
In his previous life he was reincarnated as WRONG.

22 Oct 2016 23:48:56
Get everyones point, but can't have anyone slagging Glenn Hoddle.

Maybe he was misunderstood.

23 Oct 2016 00:11:40
Why let it get to us, we've had a great start to the season, just enjoy it :-)

23 Oct 2016 01:07:23
He must have been in that alternate universe along with Donald Trump, when we were battering the so called Big Teams. Wake up, Glenn!

23 Oct 2016 12:10:51
He needs more sessions with Eileen Drury, that's if she's still working in this dimension.

22 Oct 2016 21:01:58
Always happy when Liverpool win and they deserved to win today, however they need to learn when to shut games down quicker, we had the 2 goals when it became apparent the 3rd goal was not coming ok fine take a 2-0, the last 10mins were all of our own making and not necessary imo, having said that it was a important win, home form is going to be vital to our ambitions this season, we are not top tonight because once again we could not keep a clean sheet, we need to stop giving away cheap goals because sooner or later it will cost us big time, the attacking display was a joy to watch however, we need to find a happy balance.

Believable4 Unbelievable10

22 Oct 2016 23:26:59
Great post.
But I think the only way this team can defend is by attacking and closing down the space asap.
It showed how we tired a little bit in the last 20 minutes.

23 Oct 2016 00:30:32
Think they could have switched to a 4-2-3-1 (doesn't alter the team on the field to much) Put a second d minded player on deep and still maintain an attacking attitude.

23 Oct 2016 01:09:16
I get your points but we should also have taken at least two of the clear chances we created and job done. I do agree that we should know when to just shut up shop and control the game.

22 Oct 2016 20:58:07
I might be the only one who thinks this but a lot of people on fb are saying how well foster did but I don't think he made any great saves, they were all saves i'd expect the keeper to make, if anything i'd say our shooting was right at him or very reachable for him. i'd also say he has a talent for making an everyday save look like a worldie with his over diving. just my opinion. also were was firminos shooting boots he hit everything at the keeper, ah well not bothered glad he had one of those days when we didn't need his goals.

Believable3 Unbelievable9

23 Oct 2016 01:11:29
You are so what right however, we created two or three clear chances that should have been converted.

22 Oct 2016 20:40:05
if anyone read my post on the other posts pages:

19 wins to go!

have a great week ahead.

Believable2 Unbelievable7

22 Oct 2016 21:14:15
Why? 19 won't be enough to win the league.

22 Oct 2016 21:46:05
We have 20 points now. with 19 wins we will be at 77 points. Combined with those inevitable draws, I think it will be enough.

22 Oct 2016 20:32:40
Klopp: "Who wants a clean sheet when you have all three points. "

Believable14 Unbelievable6

22 Oct 2016 22:22:47
Well i would want a clean sheet every time as well. Not only could we attack for fun but we would be as tight as a ducks arse at the back also. i'm pretty sure Klopp would love some clean sheets also.

22 Oct 2016 23:28:30
Jose mourino. is fond of them I think.

23 Oct 2016 01:13:24
I think he only said that to get the reporter off his back. I'm sure he wants clean sheets as well.

23 Oct 2016 12:15:20
He was concentrating on the positive s
I'm sure Monday bright and early the negatives will be dealt with privately to not undermine our fledgling team confidence.

22 Oct 2016 20:05:54
They're goal should never have stood.
There was a player in between Macauley and Karius who was offside clearly interfering!
Anyway, as Klopp said it would have been a joke if they'd got a point.
We we're awesome apart from the little panic we had after their goal. Even then we could have scored another hatful.
Can't believe we're joint top after the fixtures we've faced!
Awesome.
Long may it continue.

Believable7 Unbelievable7

22 Oct 2016 20:12:48
Their goal.

22 Oct 2016 20:19:51
I couldn't believe their goal stood but not seen a replay yet. Was the player between Macauley and Karina offside? Played well today but we do need to finish teams off. Plenty to be positive about - just need to ensure we make the most of the run of games we have coming up against the mid/ lower half teams. By mid December we COULD be in a very strong position.

22 Oct 2016 22:58:32
Whos Karina.

23 Oct 2016 09:55:17
Ha ha flipping auto correct on my phone. I meant Karius.

One thing I have enjoyed this week is asking Man U supporters. don't you wish you had klopp?

Believable6 Unbelievable7

22 Oct 2016 23:35:40
If Utd scrape into top 4 this year Mourino could very likely win the champs league with them next year by playing the same tactics he used on us.
Hes done it with lesser teams.

22 Oct 2016 19:25:39
Got the result, most important thing. Two fantastic goals. Poor goal conceded. Karius deserves the season however. Excellent passer from the back. Has to work on crosses and set pieces.
Can and Henderson the biggest positive. Potentially great midfield partnership for the season.

Believable8 Unbelievable8

22 Oct 2016 19:45:01
Doesn't Hendo miss our next game due to 5 yellow cards.

22 Oct 2016 19:49:16
Henderson misses the carling cup match against spurs mate.

22 Oct 2016 20:01:56
Spot on, Big Al. In fact we could/ should have been out of sight before that goal as we created several clear chances but the GK stood on his head and still had a chance to go top if Wiji's brilliant shot hadn't missed by inches. Karius had a very solid game and his distribution is very good. The goal was unlucky as Firmino actually wins the header but off a freak ricochet, it gets to MacCauley's path and he scores. We managed the game well and got the points. We get back to work and continue improving.

22 Oct 2016 20:12:57
Thanks mate.

22 Oct 2016 19:09:20
I really do despair when it comes to our goalkeepers.

Karius is so lax when he comes out for the ball

That should never have been a goal.

Believable9 Unbelievable21

22 Oct 2016 19:23:01
Migs scares me less to be perfectly honest.

While they both have faults I rate migs higher.

22 Oct 2016 19:35:08
2 comedy posts of the year.

22 Oct 2016 19:38:11
When Karius signed, one of the eds (not 1 or 2) said that he would take time to settle and that he WOULD make mistakes. Evidently a man/ woman who knew what they were talking about. Fortunately the mistakes aren't costing us points, they may do in the future but that's the way it goes.
Give him some time guys.

22 Oct 2016 20:05:39
Can't some of you just give the lad some time,

De Gea was weak in the air when he first arrived but Fergie stuck by him and said he would be top class. Maybe we should stick by ours and if he gets anywhere near De Gea'a current level, we'll have a top GK.

Let's back our players and help build his confidence

Keep the faith! YNWA!

22 Oct 2016 20:06:04
Spot on, Sid. Both post make no sense. Karius had a solid game bar being caught under the ball once which he has to work on but his distribution is top class. The goal was not his fault nor was it anyone's fault. It was off a ricochet and they score. Karius will get his chances as Klopp has said so his detractors need to get over it and themselves because Klopp has confidence in him.

22 Oct 2016 20:36:54
lol already calling him when he has barely began it's actually quite pathetic, give the lad time, mistakes happen, he's young, how does he improve if he's sat on the bench? he needs game time. I hope he's on every single game. The most important thing is support from the fans.

22 Oct 2016 23:42:58
The only thing Mingolet have proved since he signed, is that he will not improve. He have been costing us goals and points for years now and he had premier league experience when we signed him. Karius is younger, does a lot of things better than Mignolet already, while trying to adabt to the league and he is just getting started. Why anybody would drop him to the bench for Mignolet is beyond me. Slating him is nothing less than outrageous. He needs the season! Atleast his mistakes isn't costing us points at the moment.

23 Oct 2016 03:37:52
Ive yet to see anything from Karius to suggest he is an upgrade on Migs. I am hoping he will improve with time but so far he hasn't produced. c'mon Karius, prove me wrong please.

22 Oct 2016 18:23:31
Gotta be happy with that first half eh guys and girls.

Believable6 Unbelievable0

22 Oct 2016 19:12:47
very good tho the GK still gives me concerns.

22 Oct 2016 19:38:01
He's just come back from injury and is settling into a new country. Give him support, not concerns :)

22 Oct 2016 20:07:08
The GK had nothing todo in the first half so how is he a concern to you or do you just want whine for no reason?

23 Oct 2016 09:53:53
I replied at 2-1 to be honest Hamilton Red, I thought it a great team performance but clearly the GK needs confidence and that passes to the defence. my concern has been based on the games I've watched when he's been nervy at crosses and when challenged - that's all. JK has confidence in him so that's all that really matters but I would expect teams to focus on him to see whether he's susceptible to an error.

23 Oct 2016 12:28:02
Liverpools first team keeper like the rest of the position s should be the finished article.
Thats what the U 23s are for.
.
If you're willing to spend 20-30 mill on outfield players then you should do the same with the goalkeeper and get a top drawer keeper who Karius can test himself against and lesrn from in training.
Who has the lad got to learn from now?
Mingolet, no wonder he's weak on crosses.

22 Oct 2016 17:16:03
For anyone who still thinks that Henderson only passes sideways/ backwards (Mentioned a lot after the UTD game) have a look at this stat. Henderson has passed into the opposition half the 2nd most in the whole league. Stats can be deceiving, but I personally think is difficult to argue with this one.

Believable11 Unbelievable2

22 Oct 2016 20:08:40
It's his detractors that make such unfounded and deluded comments. Those of us who actually watch games don't really need stats to make that point. We have our eyes.

22 Oct 2016 12:23:44
First time posting but a big follower of the site. Huge credit to the eds giving us some great information and opinions. I do believe our fans need to have a lot more faith in the team, Using the Manchester United game as an example which I was at, I found a lot of fans getting on the players backs very easily, okay we didn't have a great game and you bought a ticket so your allowed to shout what you want but surely this negativity is only going to show in our play as the players are more worried about making mistakes than actually wanting to get on the ball with confidence and create chances. We are at our best when we all stick together, I was watching an interview with Souness and he talked about when he was playing and when they were having a bad game or went a goal down the fans always stuck with them because they believed in them and the players believed in the fans. We all have passion for this fantastic club, it's a big season for the club to push on so let's all do this together as one! Looking for the 3 points today against a well organised pulis side, need to break them down early! YNWA.

22 Oct 2016 10:07:40
is that it, absolute doddle ;)

22 Oct 2016 11:05:51
Such a wimp. We are gg for treble.

22 Oct 2016 13:26:43
Too many fans have too high an expectation this season and are too quick to blame the players or Klopp.

Anyone who saw the game knows Man U came with one objective!

Today's game is going to tell us a lot. Last season we dropped way too many points against mid table teams. Hopefully those days are a thing of the past.

22 Oct 2016 14:34:15
Please stop
Saying thing like "Man U came with one objective"

Man U came to anfield to counter our tactics, can't blame them for that.

Up to us to find a way of beating them, plus first half they didn't park bus we were just rubbish.

Please try to understand this.

22 Oct 2016 14:56:21
How can you have too high an expectation for this team? We have shown we are a match for any team in this league (except maybe Burnley 😄) .

22 Oct 2016 15:00:19
Wise one you need to change your name.

22 Oct 2016 15:08:26
Can lead a horse to water and all that.

22 Oct 2016 18:28:25
My point was that Utd came to kill our tactics off, and that doesn't mean our fans should get on our players case.

We should be optimistic that the team is heading in the right direction but again the comment was in relation to the over reaction to us failing to win the game against Utd.

For the record I had money on a 4-0 win! 😂.

22 Oct 2016 09:40:14
It's all about the first goal:
An early goal for LFC and you can open the flood gates. Anything else - a goal for WBA or a goal less first half and this game will be a struggle.
I'm going for the first option, a 4-0 LFC win and for some reason I fancy Origi to get a goal 😎.

Believable6 Unbelievable4

22 Oct 2016 09:49:19
That's what I'm hoping for too Ron, get that early goal and work on that.

22 Oct 2016 11:28:00
like your optimism guys, keep it;)

22 Oct 2016 11:10:52
Workman like today for me. West Brom will be difficult to break down, so a steady 2-0 win for me. Mane to get back in the grove today with a brace.

22 Oct 2016 08:44:36
I'm somewhat worried about this game today, West Brom are just one of them teams who know how to upset.

I still think we'll win it but they're going to give us a right good go.

Ed missing you and bennys repartee in the podcasts, please bring them back. Especially loved the special guests and terrible joke of the day.

On another note Karius looks a shadow of himself and i had really high hopes for this lad. Maybe he needs to make that one good hollywood save that kick starts his confidence. I really don't know what's wrong with him, but funnily enough we have not lost a game with him between the sticks so that is a good sign.

Believable2 Unbelievable5

22 Oct 2016 08:49:33
I agree about the podcasts, would be great to have them back again.

Karius needs time, still young and I think its a little early to judge him. I personally want to see him on every game, I have no doubt he'll end up been our #1 for quite some time.

Id also like to see Ward next season coming through the ranks, the kid looks special and deserves a shot in my opinion.

22 Oct 2016 12:05:07
Not heard anything from Benny from a long time. Guess I am the special guest for the upcoming Podcast.
