Use our rumours form to send us liverpool transfer rumours.

To be honest with you guys, if you look at the managers who have previously taken charge at liverpool, they could never bring Liverpool to the postition that we're in. I don't want Woy to get sacked as he does deserve more time but to be honest with you guys, when you've got a team full of quality players and we're playing matches that's below semi pro matches, its' hard to stick up for the guy.
I can't see Woy changing his style of play as it doesn't suit the team and especially with the players that we've got. I would love to see the 3-5-2 again as we got the right players to play in them positions.
In terms of the transfer market, i doubt we should look too far ahead. No matter who we buy, aguero, turan etc, we won't be going nowhere near the top half of the table if we carry on playing crappy football.
I just hope Woy stops playing negative football and start approaching games with free flowing football.
I would love to see momo sissoko back at anfield as he would chase players down like masch did.

Martin ONeill and Kenny Dalglish are also linked with the job, but it's unlikely both to leave their current club for Liverpool.

[[ yeah i noticed that when it was put up. lol . it was on an asian site. someone gave a link to it on lfcglobe.

To Harry5

Martin O Neill doesn't have a club unless i've missed something and Dalglish is currently in a role with Liverpool.

Im sick and tired of morons like allardyce taking pot shots at Our club, You know who your friends are when the going gets tough.Howard kendall, allardyce, redknapp are all going to own us an engraved apology. And all this talk of changing manager's 8 games in is rubbish, get behind the team or f*ck off youre giving real fans a bad name.Liverpool fans always backed there managers and were not gonna start calling for there heads now especially after only 8 games. If you don't like go to eastlands, im sure they will be changing managers reguarlery.

Anybody else got a sense of deja vu? We did the manager back & forth throughout the summer along with transfer wishlists & ownership speculation. It's all getting kinda tedious. We all gave Hodgson our support but we all had our reservations, we go into games hoping we can win or nick a point, we watch crap football week after week. I'm at the end of my tether. We should be going down the local or to the match if your lucky enough cocksure of winning, not taking a ribbing from your mates when outclassed by Blackpool amongst others. we can all see the young talent need to be blooded & a change of manager is wanted. Why can't the club just do it?
Anyway changes in january:
Kyriagkos & Skrtel out-Ayala and Wilson chanced
Maxi & Babel out-Turan in, Amoo chanced
Ngog loaned Poulsen out-Honda, Defour, Suarez in
Lucas loaned, Konk gone-Coentrao, Pacheco in.
We might aswell get the new players in January & be used to premiership pace for the 2011 season.
Any thoughts ed?

Last night two events happened and out of the two events. I saw more attacking outside wayne rooneys house, then at the napoli vs Liverpool game. What an abysmal draw, the fact that napoli really didn't pose a threat(apart from the shot cleared off the line) and were there for the taking makes our disjointed performance hard to take.

Pellagrini will become the new liverpool boss in the nxt few weeks. even if results improve, the damage has been done, and nesv will not be trusting roy wiv 3om plus sales in jan. pellagrini will of course be raiding his old clud madrid, there squad is massive and they need players off the wage bill. theres a few players that wud do a fantastic job for us, gago in perticular. drenthe wud be a great buy but is currentley out on loan at hercules and mite be an option in the summer. wot do think ed sound likely?

Thanks ed for your reply on the babbel. wot uthink of hodgson?i think he an ok manager but needs to stop playing 4-5-1 , why not play simple 4-4-2 attacking football. it seems for me we take one step forward and 5 back wot as happened to the team it seems no one is trying hard enough fair play torres aint getting support or service but he looks as if he got things on his mind .i don't think gerrard is even on par ed , sum thing needs to happen fast ed wot u think?. . . . . . . . .ynwa

Torres has contract until 2013, mate. And i can assure you, now that we have new owner, new manager soon, with some investments in jan window, everything will be fine again and Torres will definitely stay.

"One trophy here at Liverpool - maybe the Premier League - means more than three or four with another club." - Fernando Torres

think gerrard said that

22 Oct 2010 21:07:24

Torres will go i can assure you! i got this rumour from the same guy who told me on Thurs night that Rooney was staying. I didn't believe him ( who would ) but he assured me that this was genuine as is the Torres rumour. The Scum want him at all cost as they haven't been scoring since they sold Ronaldo and they promised Shrek this when he signed new contract or he would have gone too. They know that Torres contract only has 18 months left and could pick him up for £30mill.

do a bit of research on his contract idiot

"Man city would sell to english team if the offers decent enough, , and if not then bad business sense and they need to look to sell the club to someone who knows business lol cos they won't make money by given players worth 20mill for less than they r worth to a team outside the premier league jus so they rnt selling to the prem teams they cearly don't have faith in there team to be better than what they r selling to others lol

Citys owners don't give a toss about making money though that's the whole point. .They'll keep throwing and losing cash at it till they win"

And why do you want wilshere when we have Shelvey. Shelvey is as good if not better. I think he will soon move into the u21's for England and if we start picking him ahead of Poulson and Spearing. I just want to see Pacheco and Shelves on the pitch. Even on the wings. Joe Cole has not been doing the business of late. Give these lads a chance.

After just watching this weeks Europa league highlights. liverpool could really do with buying HULK because he has got great pace, strength skill and finishing abitlity, and can play wide but is mainly a ST.

Napoli were there for the taking the other night and he left our two best scoring options at home, then he substitutes carra our most experienced ch and captain resting players my arse, there is more to it!
nando and gerra could have both scored against napoli and allow them to go into the blackburn game positively charged and build on a win, after all what is there to build on from another mediocre draw.

Ola- Rafa here again. Could we at Inter possibly do a deal for El Zhar in exchange for Sneijder, or am I under valuing El Zhar a little?

And remember- In Istanbul we won it five times!

Jus watching sky news and allardyce press con, he has the fattest I have ever seen! On this lad lavezzi I for one would not sign him don't think he is anything special. Also to sort out the centre back prob we need a left footer and a right footer. Skrtel and the Greek are no-footers absolute rubbish. Ed how can I apply for roy's job? Will we sign 3 players ed I just fancy 2 wingers and a striker. I'm gonna put my team out like this against Blackburn.

All the people who r slagging babel off need to think hes a striker and hes never bin given a good run of 5 or 6 full games to get judged on,
it was ok 3 seasons ago every one loved him when he was third top goal scorer for us just being a super sub every time hes given a chance they give him 45 min a then say hes no good wot u say to that ed

{Editor's Note: His time has come - it is not working at Liverpool and he should move on.}

To the donkey that said this is a rumours page
well its the banter section so go back to your rumour page like a good little boy

22 Oct 2010 17:45:26

Just a quick question: why did Roy leave Gerrard and Torres at home? How do you expect to keep the lads going if you show them that they are nothing more than bodies to fill shirts? What have those two done this year to merit special treatment? Couldn't they at least travel with the team and cheer the guys on or offer advice to youngsters? Aren't those two the highest paid players at the club? Current form is one thing, but a bad attitude is inexcusable.

Also, everyone on this site should stop throwing out established names as possible transfer candidates. Everyone knows Liverpool are looking for premium talent and prices will be insane. The best thing to do is to go for players on the verge of establishing themselves. Forget Mata, Benzema and others. Just look at Van der Vaart is there anyone who believes that we would have gotten him at the price Spurs got him for? We need deals such as Meireles'. Hopefully this will be the NESV way of doing things.

Did anyone catch Holloway (sp?) on Sky last night? What a phony! What was he ranting about anyway? Rooney? the Bosman rule? Fifa? UEFA? 24 year-olds? I hope Sir Alex sends him a pair of his undies so that Holloway can sniff them from time to time.

Olivier

I don't know who is worse Poulson as a player or Hogson as our manager why oh why did we sell one of the best defensive midfielder's in the world and replace him with that thing they call a footballer poulson is no fit to play for liverpool he probably would not get in some championship sides and Roy his the worst manager for liverpool for 50 years useless! to loose against blackpool is bad but Northampton is embarrassing then when we got totally outplayed against Everton he said that was a good performance i mean is he on drugs did he pass out during the game he never backed torres when fregie called him a cheat he then said he was powerless to stop him from leaving during the rooney saga he gets worse by the day when he gets sacked im having a party

The pressure is on before every game we can't afford the luxury of a draw or even another loss, we have got to start winning! can we imagine the negativity roy has caused throughout the squad and the increased pressure of expectation, is the man blind to the way he has us playing. . .he is killing us! !

Going on what i've seen and heard in the last couple of weeks, it would suggest to me that Hodgson's last game may be chelsea at anfield. The new owners did say they would give him time and from what i can see we will probably draw against blackburn, draw or lose against bolton(our away form is awful). .and theres no way roy can put out a team that will beat chelsea even at home.

so, 2 points in 3 games leaving us in the bottom 3 possibly in 20th. . . . .NESV are not going to put up with that. . . we were in the bottom 3 before they came in and we will be after the chelsea game.

so, Roy to go 7th November. . .

not very far from my thoughts before everton game that i posted sp site. i said 6-9 point upto spurs game, roy, he will be gone for that game. and king will come and revive team and start with a win just as harry did startin with liverpool when spurs sitting bottom table under ramos. after the everton game iv thought he has to go now and i would welcome the dutch magic man to do a barca and play nice sexy football that's watchable.

Editor, I asked you yesterday to speak to your sources about engineering a move for Eden Hazard and Mathieu Debuchy. In addition to this, I also ask if you can suggest that Sami Hyypia comes back as a coach. I would also like to see Smicer and Hamann back coaching too. I honestly think with these guys in the dressing room, new owners and a new manager we could become a big force again. They wore the red shirt with pride. It's a long shot editor, but you don't get if you don't ask.

I think we have the team to play 4-1-2-3-1

{Editor's Note: Just the twelve players then.}
some ppl having voice on here need a brain but as long as you buy a liverpool shirt each season then fine,
with woy as manager i think we do need tha 13 man playing for us but still i could not see liverpool competing with top 10, and for the ppl who keep saying we not sticking behind manager, and not right. we have reason for not sticking behind him. he isn't good enough, as for these ppl saying you all wanted him when named to get the job i don't know anyone who said YES to roy, and i live right in the heart of liverpool. ther was not many scousers at all saying they wanted roy. i didn't come on here when roy was hinted for job so i carnt say what ppl said on here but on the streets no one wanted him, everyone one i know said no he isn't good enough, i actully said if he gets job i will never go to another game again, that hasnt happened and hand on heart never will, i will always go to game, i won't stand on kop singing for roys head, but i will sit down like a man full of blood red in me and say roy is not good enough to our beloved club for the managers job. am sorry he is a nice man but that does not win games.

i have to get this point in, as far as i know evry football fan knows about liverpool and manure, the last liverpool to manure or other way round was in the 60's so what the hell is roy saying he expects manure to come in for a liverpool player for, should he not be putting it across STRAIGHT AWAY THAT ANY OFFER FROM MANURE FOR TORRES OR A GROUNDSMAN for that matter WOULD BE LAUGHED AWAY WITH AN EVIL LOOK THATS SAYS DONT YOU EVER COME TO OUR CLUB EXPECTING TO TAKE ANYONE AWAY. WETHER IT BE A MANAGER, PLAYER, STAFF, OR PROGRAM SELLER. plus if roy didn't know, should sammy not be telling him the unwriten rules we have. far to friendly if you ask me. he didn't back him up when whiskey nose was on torres's back and now he actully sayin he expecting future talks involving a sale to them

22 Oct 2010 16:00:16

Im going to stick my neck on the line with all the talk that Roy is going and say that the new owners will give him the time that he deserves. But believe me , a bad display against Blackburn and even i may turn against Roy, But while he is still out manager guys, get behind Roy and the team instead of hearing all the ' i hope we lose just so Roy goes'. Now that is not on for a Liverpool fan to say that, we back our managers until it gets out of control and at the moment, i know it aint looking brilliant , but fingers crossed, Roy is the man to turn it around.

22 Oct 2010 15:57:19

Well, I would volunteer to be manager and I feel I'd do a better job than RH. Of course I would have the same squad but I would make decent signings and play a far superior team.

Reina
Kelly Skrtel Carra Aurelio
Johnson Meireles Gerrard Jova
Pacheco/ Ngog Torres

I feel two banks of four with Stevie and Raul alternating would work so well and have two upfront so Torres isn't always stranded.

_ _ _ _ _ _

Totally agree with you mate. Its the Poulsen signing that has summed Hodgson up for me. .

Why would a player who wasnt good enough to get into the Juve midfield when they finished way outside the top 4 in Serie A, be good enough for LFC in our quest to get into the top 4 in the Prem? We already had Lucas and Spearing. That money should have gone twoards a winger/ striker/ decent left back.

Simply not good enough.

I do feel sorry for Hodgson as he is a decent bloke who genuinely wants to do the best he can for us, but he clearly is the wrong guy (2 spells at Inter - Nil trophies). I just hope NESV will act as decisively as Ed suggests they will.

22 Oct 2010 15:56:03

Lfc should forget about Babel now, i think players like Pacheco, Amoo, Ecclestone would benefit a lot more if they had the chances Babel has had.Shelvey should deffo have more playing time he could be a star.

Made a mistake before ( although it wasn't posted ).

1984/ 1985 SEASON - 20th Oct 1984 - Played 11 - Won 2 Drawn 5 Lost 4 - grand total of 11 points after 11 games.

Can we stop panicking - as the GREAT man said, it's a marathon - not a sprint. We finished runners-up to the Blue s*eep.

Start panicking if we lose a few more though. Contrary to popular belief on here - we do actually have some good players at LFC.

Babel is the worst £50,000 a week player in the prem he has wasted chance after chance and then he complains GET LOST BACK TO HOLLAND Hogson has 3 games if we loose to Blackburn and the Hammers win which i think they will liverpool will be bottom of the prem how long can a manager be given until something is done he clearly has not got a clue about liverpool the fans will turn just wait and see them boo against blackburn i sit quite near the dugout and the abuse was really bad during the blackpool game after the game it got worse he has not got a chance of keeping his job until the transfer window and i think fulham over achieved under him they got lucky to stay up then had one good season which they finished mid table

In response to:
"Like the team, with the exception of Joe Cole"

Yet you would agree on Babel!
Someone here is really taking the mickey.Obviously a joke.Trying to wind people up.Good effort

Have you watched Cole this season - In fact, have you watched Cole over the past 5 seasons? I can count on one hand the number of decent games the lad has had - He was not regularly on the bench for Chelsea no reason!

He is a one trick pony whose work rate is very poor and I for one (as a Chelsea fan) was pleased to see him go

Team for blackburn 4-4-2:
GK reina - obviously
RB Kelly - didn't have the greatest game against napoli but better than johnson
CB Skrtel and agger - time for carragher to play be on the bench
LB Aurelio - played well when he came on
RM Johnson - If he plays well great if not, he should be a squad player
CM Gerrard - Obviously
CM Meireles - looks like he is adapting to the english game
LM Cole - showed glimpses of skill when he came on
ST Torres - No matter how bad he is playing, one goal could bring him back into form
ST Jovanovic - Naturally a striker, scored 24 last season, looked very strong, pacey and creative at times against napoli

subs: carragher, krygiakos, shelvey, spearing, ngog, babel, pacheco

shelvey, pacheco and babel to come (babel on up front, if he plays poorly he really has no excuse)

Final score: Liverpool 2-0 Blackburn

Goals: Torres, Jovanovic

Looking at the squad, it's not going to take much at all to get a competitive team together and for us to start competing with the very best again.

This is just my option!

With all the usual suspects out the door such as Lucas, Poulsen, Maxi, Soto, Aurelio, Kuyt and the boys out on loan, except Insua who I would keep.

I feel we need about 5-6 quality players to come in who are young and hungry to play for our glorious club. Players I would choose would be Lopez (Lyon), Defour, Turan, Honda and Dann. Apart from Lopez (27) all the others are about 23/ 24 years old.

So with players going out I reckon we could get about 40m and around 50-60m for players coming in.

So here it is, (yes, before you say it I would keep Babel. I still feel he will come good with the right manager)

ST
Torres, Lopez (Lyon), Babel, Jovanovic, Ngog, Pacheco

CM
Gerrard, Cole, Meireles, Defour, Turan, Honda, Shevley, Spearing, Amoo, Ince

FB
Johnson, Konchesky, Insua, Kelly, Mavinga

CB
Carragher, Agger, Skrtel, Dann, Wilson, Ayala, Darby

GK
Reina, Jones

What do you think Ed? {ed's note - you lost me when you called Babel quality, he is not fit to wear the shirt, far too lazy and so poor on the ball it is embarrassing.}

In normal circumstances the liverpool way is to give a manager time to put his own stamp on the team!
but please gentlemen we are not experiencing the norm at the moment i.e midtable in 7th or 8th place are we ?we are stuck like fish out of water IN THE RELEGATION ZONE! so i am sorry time is of the essence here we need a competent replacement for roy, to get us out of the sin bin before he does to us what he did to blackburn . loyalty is a commendable thing, but to all of you calling for him to be given more time, for what reason?so he can bury us deeper, and if that is what you want then roll up your sleeves, buy a shovel, jump in and help roy dig that hole we are in a lot quicker and a lot deeper, many hands make light work!
i just can't see him turn this around!

Can a good word can be said about Roy Hodgson's time at Liverpool?

Name one thing that has been improved?

(all I have come up with is Ngog scoring more, I discounted Joe Cole signing as he has yet to justify wages spent on him)

Realistically, with not much to spend in Jan (£20m or so from the owners and whatever we make from sales), the team I can see playing the best football would be:

GK: Reina
RB: Kelly
CB: Skrtel
CB: Agger
LB: New signing (maybe Fábio Coentrão, at what £12m or so?)
DM: New signing (I'd go all out for Lassana Diarra)
RM: Johnson
CM: Gerrard
CM: Shelvey
LM: Cole (and hope to h*ck he starts playing)
FD: Torres

22 Oct 2010 13:30:50
Right im going to be the very first person on this so called FANS site to say it. We are going to SMASH blackburn. Torres and stevie are going to be fired up at all the carp being slung at us (mainly by our own fans i might add, everyone else can see we r just a step away. .) and then you lot can go back to pretending that you support LFC rather than just success. Torres' reps have said he has no intention of leaving us, so you don't have to worry about that. Henry has said he'l spend in jan so u don't have to worry about that either. All you have to worry about is supporting the team. And to be honest you all really suck at it. This site has just become a ream of people moaning (including me moaning at ur lack of testicular fortitude) and it's really disappointing. Fortunately in the wider world people don't seem to be aware of how much fan abuse is going on at the moment or im sure it would have been reported and completely ruined ANY chance of a turnaround. Football is supposed to be about fun. Do you not remember Norwich? Their fans lost nearly every game and STILL outsung everyone, and managed to have fun, create a family atmosphere and ENJOY FOOTBALL! Thats what footballs about, that's what Shanks instilled and that's the reason we were successfull, because we could be proud of our club and players and their DIGNITY. And because WE SING WHEN WE'RE LOSING. John Henry understands Shanks' message of family and solidarity and is sticking with it. He's the daddy. You lot are the spoilt, bickering children blaming everyone and making accusations. I don't think that's quite how Shankley wanted it. Duckula

Carragher should be preparing to move to the coaching staff. What a motivator he would be. For now he should be on the bench, he's ideal cover for the whole back 4 or holding midfielder, (if we insist on playing one) he's the ideal substitute. He's past his best and being caught out too often now. We should be putting Wilson in and grooming him into being our new Alan Hanson alongside Skrtel or Agger (Aggers my preference due to his ability to get forward). Ideal lineup (with what we've got)

Reina

Kelly Wilson Agger Aurelio

Johnson Meireles Gerrard Jovanavic

Cole

Torres

Subs Kuyt Carragher Pacheco Itandje Shelvey

Ed - I think were all in agreement that woy should go. But I've noticed something interesting and wanted to know what everyone thinks.
Rafa didn't trust stevey g in the middle of he park always opting for two defensive midfielders shifting him to the right and then eventually to second striker . This system stopped working the moment alonso left. But he persisted with it and hence- we had a bad season last year. Woy has come in, and after assessing his options has opted for the same system which the dumbass can't see is not working!
Why do you think woy has gone this way and why did he sign raul meriless. Causes more problems then solutions when that money could have been used elsewhere {ed's note - the only person that knows that is Roy.}

22 Oct 2010 12:49:30

Kelly's impressive but lacks composure and frequently boots the ball upfield. (carragher anyone?) He looked assured defensively but i've seen maxi put in better crosses than he has and his touch needs improving. obviously he's young but he needs to learn that a 5 yard pass to keep possesion is better than a hopefully hoof upfield (not poulsen style though!). i think we're all getting a bit ahead of ourselves with regards to how good this lad is. i hope i eventually eat my words though.
ed?

Rafa.is.King {ed's note - he is a centre back playing at full back, it is difficult to judge him.}

He nearly looks too big to play right back, if you know what I mean. Maybe lacking a bit of mobility?

The Irish Rover

yeah i thought he was a centre back by trade. why the greek is chosen over him to play centre back bewilders me. and i know what you mean by lacking mobility, he's no ashley cole but then again look a maicon. even bigger and better. spose if you've got the talent it doesn't matter what size you are. i'd defintely start kelly on sunday. and shelvey for that matter. .

22 Oct 2010 12:46:14

Why not go for three at the back in carra, agger and skyrtel with Johnson and aurelio as wing backs. Midfield three of gerrard meriles and Lucas with jovanovic and Torres up front?

22 Oct 2010 12:43:10

Shelvey is liverpools future captain i have no doubt about it, he oozes calls and confidence, the only central midfielders we need to be playing now are gerrard/ spearing mirelles/ shelvey lucas if these boys are injured.
Until jan.

22 Oct 2010 12:39:21

Just read the post from the guy highlighting the strength of the youngsters and I have to agree - but we will never see them whilst Hodgson is in charge.

In his defense, he wants to play it as safe as possible, but now is the time to maybe take a risk or two - we cannot get any worse!

22 Oct 2010 12:39:15

It really does pain me to see people criticising Roy. Do people not think that the players need to step up and be held responsible for their poor performances. We are Liverpool FC and whoevers pull on the shirt needs to step up to the plate and that includes the likes of Torres and Gerrard. Repalcing the Manager will not help. Everyone was blaming the off field antics and now it is the manager. Get behind the Reds, one win will install their confidence. G

I know it is not like LFC to get rid of managers without giving them a chance but let's be honest since rafa has gone nothing has changed on the pitch for the better so the longer ROY is in charge the more likely relegation is, since he has come he has been using the problems at the top of the club as an excuse but now that is all done and he can not win on sunday I think his time is up.

22 Oct 2010 12:20:05

Hi ed have to say this is the worst period for me as a lfc fan ever, one good thing was getting rid of h&g, now we have to move roy on , im not gonna go on bout if raffa was still in charge cos i loved the man but we wouldn't be 2nd from bottom , but looking at the current team under roy - no fight no system no direction no fluencey players out of position players unhappy it has to stop time for nesv to make a statement and sack roy hodgeson today, mabye bring in frank rikguard buti don't thing he is great but deffo better than hodgeson frank rikguard would bring in young players who are comfortable on the ball n fast that's what we need hungrey players who arent afraid of a challange , i dint know how long roy will still be in charge but i hope he is gone before the blackburn game

I don't mind Carragher getting a new contract but I do mind him still being a first-team regular. He should be getting intergrated into the coaching set-up now and only be used in dire circumstances (which although the results are currently very poor)have not arrived yet. J.S and J.S had good games yesterday and both deserve more time in the first team. I think the only changes for Sunday should be Gerrard and Torres for Babel and N'gog and Krygiakos should remain in place of Carragher. Wilson and Pacheco should be on the bench and if the opportunity arrives brought on for some valuable playing time. But as we all know it won't happen like this - Poulsen, Lucas, and Maxi will be back. By the way, as Liverpool are no longer in doubt surely they are among the best-placed when the new financial rules come into place for the Champions' League!

"Tonight we have to be satisfied with a good result after a good performance and I think we deserved it."
Seem to be some good words, if spoken after a victory and getting 3 points. .
but Roy speak it after an average performance, where we were dominated by napoli and were lucky to come out with a draw. . we don't have a winning mentality at all.
Please sack roy. what u think, ed? {ed's note - he seems to think any result and performance is good, I am seriously worried if he thinks that is a good performance and result.}

Hey, remember last Saturday? How good did it feel last Saturday. . between Tom Hicks tears and Tim Cahill's goal I was feeling on top of the world about Liverpool. Shame it only lasted one day.

22 Oct 2010 11:01:28

Reina
kelly carra skertel konchesky

gerrard

shelvey cole meireles

ngog torres

my team for sunday wot do you think ed?? ?sleeper10. . . love this site {ed's note - personally I don't think Ngog deserves enough opportunity, he was dreadful, yet again, last night. If Babel hadn't been on the pitch being even worse, we would all have been moaning about his terrible touch and how he constantly gave the ball away. One good moment in 90mins is not good enough to get a place in the team for me.}

22 Oct 2010 11:01:01

Got to admit i was pleased with some of the performances last night ie kelly, shelvey and spearing but i've got to say enough is enough now regarding babel, he's lazy, useless couldn't trap a bag of cement and couldn't score in a brothel it's about time amoo was giving a chance, he's got pace which is something the team lacks and he can actually cross a ball, team for sunday should be
reina
kelly carra or the greek skrtel aurelio
gerrard meirles
amoo or johnson shelvey cole
torres
what do people think ?

22 Oct 2010 10:53:19

I don't understand why everybody is so hard on Roy. We are doing very wellin europe and he is giving our youngsters time to improve and already he has shownus shelvey kelly and spearing who in time will come into thje sarting 11. In the carling cup he sent out a good team with ngog kelly etc etc and it waznt his fault they played badly, you carnt play northampton with stevieor nando. In the league if we get a couple of wins in a row then we jump into the top half. The players are happy and it will take time with a few new players in the starting 11.
And don't forget he signed cole with hard work (who will come good) then kept stevie at the club and was so concerned about nando he flewto nando in spain, and convinced him to stay. Weve only had eight prem games and played :
Birmingham
Utd
Arsenal
City
Everton
Sunderland
who allfinished around the top 8 spots next year.
Give him time as at the minute our defenders are all getting injured, nando isn't firing and the team hasnt gelled. Wait to christmas when he can field a fit, strong and in form team and then we will see goals, attacking football and wins(the only reason we are playing defencive is we have noone to score with nando out of form)

22 Oct 2010 10:51:57

Although jamie carragher has been a loyal servant to liverpool fc, i find it unreal giving him a 2 year contract,
Jamie's a good defender, but not a world class one, Now in his later years, things have gone down hill even more,
If liverpool fc keep playing him, we are going to concede more penalties and fouls than we ever have done.

22 Oct 2010 10:51:39
We need too sort it out now cus if you leave untill jan and get rid off him the new manager will look at wot he's got to work with then know there not good enough. . . by which time there's only 2 day off tranfer deadline left and it all starts again! sleeper10

22 Oct 2010 10:45:13
Blackburn to get 1 or all 3 points at the week end, expect an airial bombbardment, they will go to anfield and play 2 up front, theres no fear playing Liverpool any more, what if you get rid of Hodgson and results stay the same, how will you change things then, you still need to amass 20 plus points by dec 31st, if not its relegation, it will take until the middle of Feb, for the incoming players to settle, the players you want out, they will not bust a gut for you, they can't wait to get out.

22 Oct 2010 10:40:55

Manchester United "Ultras" ha they are all scum! Gathering outside his house abusing him. Im sorry but even if it is Rooney no one deserves that, they have a young child! Football is a joke and won't be long untill it all goes pear shaped. Holloway is secretly Jesus.

22 Oct 2010 10:21:06

My team for sunday, maybe some might not like this. but this i think is the best we have.

GK - Reina (by no doubt the best keeper in the world) wouldn't swop him for anyone. .
RB - Johnson / kelly either will do for me in this position.
CB skrtel and either agger/ carragher depending on which one is fit.
LB - Konchesky - i know people think he is crap but for me he is better bet then anyone else at the min. plus we need experience at the min.
RM - Gerrard played there awhile ago, and scored from this area over 20 goals a season. he doesn't like it out there but for the good of the team. he can play this positon. .
Holding Mid - Spearing - he deserves his chance, better than poulsen, and lucas. won't bottle out of any tackles and can hold is own.
the other 2 centre mid players Mereles and Shelvey both can tackle and create pefect balance in the middle.
LM - Joe Cole - i know its not his favoured place but he played out there for chelsea for years and did well.
all these midfield players can also swop places throughout the game too which would make good attacking and defending sense.
upfront obviously torres. but he will be supported then, by shelvey, cole, gerrard. and even mereles.

i doubt this will be the team though, as its far too attack minded for hodgson.

22 Oct 2010 10:15:07

Play Aurelio in central midfield with Raul. He is a good passer and could be the hinge we need there. I remember against Pompey two seasons ago he did a great job in that position.

My Pref Team

Reina
Kelly
Carra
Agger

A few plus points from last night i.e kelly and shelvey who both need some game time but look like they can be real quality, but on the whole another dissapointing result that roy seems happy to accept . i think the first step we should take is to get some width in the team we are crying out for it.
p.s if ryan babel can play for lfc then so can i and where the hell is pacheco

Very sad watching lastnights game, the team looked clueless and played like there was no plan of attack.

I Can't believe any self respecting Liverpool fan could have been 'delighted' with that performance. . let alone the MANAGER! !

Poulsen is $h1t, my Gran can keep the ball, pass and tackle better and she's 85! Seriously!

Babel must have forgotten to take his ipod off cuz he certainly wasn't focused on the game at all. It's a shame someone whith so much natural ability can't be bothered to put in the effort.

And Ngog has to be one of the most lazy/ clumsy strikers I've ever seen in a red shirt (yes, worse than Heskey). He's young for goodness sake, he should be tearing around the place getting in the box for crosses and harrasing defenders. . but he did none of that and still looked shagged just after half time.

Spearing and Kelly looked good for youngsters. Kelly had a few defensive slip ups be they came to nothing and he got forward as much as he could and put a few balls in on attack.

Jova looks solid and you can see he'd shine with better players around him.

Shelvey was our man of the match. Great young prospect. Loved that Gerard'esque cross he placed on Ngog's right boot for him to lob it safely back to their keeper. Takes a good corner too. He definitely needs to play more PL games

Would have loved to see Pacheco come on at half time to replace Ngog and Cole for Babel. I think Jova, Cole, Shelvey and Pacheco would have caused the Napoli defence alot more problems.

Anyway. . It's obvious to everyone that Roy is not the man for Liverpool, but I think the new owners are the type to not do anything until they get the person they want (please let it be Hiddink). . so either we're stuck with Roy till Jan (or worse the summer! ) or they listen to the fans and put Kenny in charge now till they can appoint the right man.

I'd rather see Kenny there now just to hear after match comments from a manager who has a passion for LFC and will not be 'delighted' at a mediocre performance.

Hello Frenchy here again just wanted to say that i personally think that roy will come good just give him time he can't fix his squad in a season and by 2012 i think we will be top 4 contenders.

When I read people defending Roy it makes me angry, yes he's a great man bla! bla! bla! but so is my dad, surley he has to go now. I know its breaking Liverpools tradition of looking after there managers but times have changed and watching Liverpool is like watching an episode of Eastenders its s* t but you watch it just in case you miss something good, which never happens. I'm reading on here that people thought yesterdays game was a good performance are you s* tting me, we were garbage and to waste two of our subs by replacing defendors with defendors when we could of won this game by making more attacking subs is beyond me. In my opinion you play your best eleven get the result then take your players off. Roy you can't blame the players you inherited because Poulsen and Konchesky are by far the worst players i have seen in a long time in a Liverpool shirt and we have Lucas. It is simple if Roy stays then we lose our big players fact! and will be reduced to playing mid table football with the only chance of silverware being in the Carling Cup and even that depends on whether we avoid the big boys like North Hampton. We have new Brains at the club in NESV now give us a new HEART please before its to late and we go down.

The Future is Red!

On the official site Johnjo was MOM tonight with 47% of the votes. How can he be left out on Sunday. Will Roy have him in the squad. I'd like to see him in midfield with Meireles and Gerrard off Torres. I think his vision is real good and he could be a great supplier to Gerrard and Torres. Somebody earlier said that Gerrard cannot play in the hole behind Torres anymore as teams have snuffed them out. The only reason they are snuffed out is because nobody has the vision Alonso had and so there was no supply. Johnjo could be that guy and I'd like him to get the chance ala Wiltshire at the gooners. Isn't it time to look in the field at some other cows. Now i'm off for a glass of milk. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .MOOOOOOOOOOOO

Spot on Paul, Shelvey needs to start this weekend, the lad was fantastic, remember Houllier gave Gerrard a chance to shine in the first team when other managers would have not, hope Roy can do the same and give Shelvey a chance - Poulsen is terrible, last night he made more passes sidewards and backwards - now there is nothing wrong with that when a team is playing well but its making the team play deep, it making the play slow and frustrates the forwards by isolating them. . we need forward think, creative players and i think Shelvey would gives us more than Poulsen ever could.

Give the lad a chance ROY!

Will people start spelling Skrtel's name correctly! I've seen Skyrtle ad Skrtl now whats going on?! I think against blackburn we will be a different outfit because of Styven Geyrard and Fanindi Totres.

22 Oct 2010 08:50:27

Everyone us saying Hodgson going to get sacked! I don't think he will unless we get Beat by blackburn! Letd be the 12th man and get behind the team!

Steven Gerrard and Toress have had clear the air talks and been told to get on with it!

Jay spearing should start in the middle of the park with Gerrard and play 2 up top and two wingers

Reina
Kelly agger carra konchesky

Johnson spearing Gerrard cole

Torres jovanavic or kuyt

22 Oct 2010 08:31:46

Morning Ed. What didi you think of last night performance? I thought it was a good display by some of our younger players last night but the main problem is still there. The system Roy plays is carp. We play too deep and there is no support for Torres as the team is to streched so until he changes the system we will be no better off.

We need to change the system to a 4-3-3 and play something like

riena
Kelly CArragher Agger fabio

Gerrard Meireles (a holding midfielder, poulsen? Do we have anything beeter at the mo?)

Cole Babel/ Jova and Torres

That way we have 5 forward think players that should be able to swtiches places and support Torres

Any thoughts and if we lose do you expect the crowd to lose (more ) faith in Roy and a replacement to be announced soon?

I hope we put in a performance but

Liverpool not to win against Blackburn and Roy to be sacked?

"The fans were running out of patience with Souness, but he made one last attempt at revitalising Liverpool by signing defender Julian Dicks and striker Nigel Clough during the 1993 close season. But a dismal run ended hopes of the Premier League title and Souness was sacked at the end of January 1994 when Liverpool had suffered a shock FA Cup exit"

3 edits to the above:

Change Souness for Hodgson, Dicks for Konchesky (who in my mind is challanging Paul Stewart for one of the worst players ever to be at the club) and Clough for Cole.

If the above changes are applied I'm hoping I can change January 1994 to October 2010.

My work here is done!

Have heard that Liverpool owners are desparate to stop Torres from leaving and are looking to clear the dead woods. . So, why not start with Hodgson. . That would just be more than great!

Regarding the rumours and speculation surrounding the current Manager's position at our great club. .

I, for one, was happy to give Rafa another year. Why? We finished 7th last season, ok that's pretty sh*t and not acceptable for a club of our stature and history.

BUT. .the previous season, we were TWO GOALS away from winning the league! (Whaddaya mean Matt?) Well. .without ONE of United's lucky late winners in the last few games, including vs Spurs (In April) when they were gifted a non existent penalty whilst 2-0 down by Howard Webb and went on to win 5-2, PLUS a late winner from ourselves in any game during the WHOLE SEASON (United - 2 pts Liverpool + 2 pts) we would have won the title on Goal Difference. Don't sack (or engineer the release of) your manager one season after the best season we have had in the league for nigh on 20 years! Don't get me wrong, I was as baffled as anyone by a lot of decisions Rafa made during his reign, but he *did* deserve one more season.

On to Roy. He was far from my first choice. In dream land that would have been Jose Mourinho. I h* * * g hate Chelsea but that man has the cojones to tackle any job in the world. He has an ego to match Muhammad Ali and the balls and record to back it up with. The man is a born winner.

Roy, on the other hand, has been managing for 34 years and Liverpool is his 17th job. I make that one club (country) every 2 years. If we wanted stability, are we gonna get that with a man that will (statistically) be gone within 2 years?

My second choice was King Kenny.

Let's compare Kenny vs Roy in the last 25 years (as managers) with regards to total trophies won + runners up (in leagues and cups)

Kenny - 22! vs Roy - 12.

Oh, and did I mention that Kenny hasn't managed in the last 10 years! Which means Kenny 22 Winners/ R/ U in 15 years vs Roy 12 Winners/ R/ U in 25 years. The last time either of these two guys WON anything was around the year 2000, Kenny with Celtic and Roy with Copenhagen. This, coupled with the fact that Roy has never WON *anything* in the British Isles is why I would have given Kenny the job, ahead of Roy, no question.

ED. .I know you've voiced your reservations about KK returning as manager, but (like us) he has the club in his blood, and, for me, there's *nothing* he could do to lose his legendary status with the fans as we know that he has our best interests at heart.

PS - The day our club started to go downhill was the day Kenny walked out (understandably after the senseless pain of Hillsborough) top of the league at the time and then 2nd at the end of the season and no higher since. In the meantime Fergie came in and (almost) stole our crown. Wouldn't it be beautiful justice if King Kenny came back and won us Title 19 (next season!) just as Fergie retired without having "Knocked us off our f* * * g perch? "

Keep the faith lads, we choose to remain as supporters of a club that has more heart and soul than any other. .

Only 6-8 weeks ago we where all looking forward to the new season, new manager and new players i.e Joe Cole etc. .
What has Happened?
All i'm reading now is how s* t everything is, The players are not playing, The managers tactics are wrong, We are going to sign all the best players around in jan. .
Can we all just STOP IT! I know things aren't great but we all love Liverpool FC! And the one thing our team is missing at the moment is our support.
Rikki

we are supporting are club. . . if we don't and just sit back and sing on the fields ov anfield rd were once we watched king kenny play we will be adding to that corus with we will be back in prem one day. all these comments about lets stop and support are club like wot were famous for. id like to ask just how many go to match and pay to watch the football that's being played, yes ill pay if i see a good fight to win. but its like a audley harrison fight. big show and no attack. I NO ITS NOT LIVERPOOL WAY TO GET MANAGER OUT AFTER 8-10 GAMES BUT IF HE DONT CHANGE HE GOT TO GO. everyone can see ITS NEVER GOIN TO WORK FOR ROY so the sooner jonny say go go go the better for lfc's future and we all know it. scouser know wen somethin is worth fighting for and this isnt. .

22 Oct 2010 03:16:40

For me (i'm from Ireland) personally LFC belongs to the locals Liverpudlians first & foremost. And we (the non locals) should count ourselves bloody lucky to be left / invited & welcomed to come support the club. I am a fan of LFC for numerous reasons since 1988 & will always be greatful to the Liverpudlians for their kind & genuine hospitality anytime i visit for matches. How i wish Liverpool was part of Ireland as its such a fine & proud city. An amazing city with amazing people & i for one love everything about it!
"Owners" or whatever you call them are all about money & nothing else these days. I will give NESV full backing for now because they rescued our club from the brink as i think we all should BUT i am realistic enough to know they really don't care about you & i. They will do whatever they need to do to make more money while spending as little as possible along the way to make their maximum possible profits. But they or any other future "owners" will never ever truely own Liverpool FC. That pleasure is all for Liverpudlians, & outsiders like myself will be there 100% if invited & welcomed as thankfully we are now. Could never imagine how anyone would support another team other than LFC. My life would be totally incomplete without Liverpool. There is NO other club that comes near it. Just ask Pepe, Gerard Houllier, Rafa, Sami, Didi, Jari, Jan & countless others that have come, but have left / will leave their hearts behind in OUR Anfield.
Cheers,
Irish Kev.

I feel it must be said, that we as fans and as a club have a history of not sacking managers at the drop a hat. As fans we are famous for our support even when at times we where worried ie rafa last season but in rafa we put our trust etc etc, however after the hell we went through with the yanks and the risk of us becoming leeds number 2 i think we have turned on roy because he isn't able to do it at this level and deep down we all know it and deep down we always did but when he was named as gaffer we all tried to support him but things are to dangerous and to get to jan in the shape we are in is not an option. I have seen the speed of mr Henry in dealing with staff in his clubs that are short of his expectations and roy is finished. Without the belief of us and the team he has no future so although i hate to call for the sack i feel we have no option.

One game down another to go before Roy's spell at Anfield is over?

I think everyone of the 'so called' Liverpool supporters on this site who have been calling for the managers head to roll need to start asking themselves some very serious questions.

Last night we seen the 'reserves' put up one of the clubs best performances of a difficult season against Napoli, in an environment many an experienced player has buckled in, and it still draws complaints! Roy takes a gamble in playing an inexperienced side which pays off, they come out with a good result, and still some knobheads can't see the wood for the trees. (Bluenoses in disguise?)

Take the crap being talked about on the so called 'Torres to United' article. Of those who took it as read that Roy was virtually inviting United to come and get him, did you actually take the time to read the full f* *ing arcticle and put it in its true context? No, did you f* *!

The truth is this so called 'rumour' page continues to be riddled with dickheads posting threads that have absolutely nothing to do with rumours. For example having just gone through an entire sale process in which every man and his dog claimed to be in the know, can anyone step forward and claim to have identified the new owners as NESV? I often wonder how many of those submitting 'rumours' threads have actually been to a Reds game, let alone put themselves up as being 'in the know'?

Now the media is supposedly picking up on the fans 'so called' discontentments on Roy via this site, what will this lead to? It will become ridiculed and untrustworthy, just like many on here like to ridicule the other so called fan sites.

Having followed the REDMEN for 40 odd years home and away, my loyalties run deep. And its still my belief that, as in all previous generations, and irrelevant of who the manager is, its the job of the owners and the board to make the decisions that influence what will happen on the park.

Moral of the story? If you can't say anything that's even remotely constructive about the club I love, then f* * o* and go and support the bitter b* tards across the park, or the s* te up the east lancs.

Can anyone name me a Liverpool player in the past decade with a worse first touch than Babel? Seriously, i'm struggling to think of one, it was like he was playing in wellies, he made Poulsen look silky smooth. Nice to see the youngsters getting an outing on a bigger stage, i hope it's not too late for Spearing to make a mark at the club and even out of position Kelly looks a great prospect. If Roy's out the door, what are the chances he'll field more youngsters against Blackburn or try something different? I know Lucas gets knocked a fair bit but i'd like to see him have at least one game in the position he flourished in at Gremio.

Steve Bruce brought the right kind of people in the summer. I would love to see a Asamoah Gyan and John Mensah at liverpool. The players have style off the pitch. They where great at the world cup too. Most of the time having a great time off the pitch visiting and talking to people. Not like Gerrard or Carra and rest of that england squad. IF you treat football like a game that has enriched your life. People will see that. Instead of stuck up moody super stars that would be in jail if they couldn't kick a ball.

Their is something rotten about some of these modem stars. The Ego on some of them needs clipin

Oh well, Looks like Roy wants to do it the hard way as he was qouted tonight saying he would never walk away.

I wonder if he thinks he will get a higher pay out if he is sacked although he should know the new owners have 28 days to get rid and he will get his 3 mil pay off. I just hope the next manager is for keeps as we need to steady this ship.

I would love Rijkaard purely for the players i think he would attract/ sign and the attacking football he would play, but on the otherhand, i think King Kenny would also do a great job. Football aint changed that much and what we need right now is for somebody to have a word with our under achieving players and who better than the king? ?

Gerrard and Torres would love it if Kenny took over too! Saying that, Babel and Kuyt would love the other fella too as they'd probably expect to be the 2 up top. Babel again showed tonight why he aint prem standard when playing against a poor Napoli side. Shows how poor the rest are in Italian football eh? Cash in now! !

Thanks Roy, but we need a King to make our castle conquer!

It seems that roy does not have enough time at melwood for training as he seems to treat competitive games like training matches, why the hell does he like the team to sit back and defend from the off? he seems to be making the players feel that they are not capable of winning a game before it starts he seems to like the expression "well at least we never lost" ITS NOT ACCEPTABLE ANY MORE! at least if he played attack attack attack, loosened the leash so the team played for a win over the 90 minutes at least he could say "we tried our hardest" and we would believe him and give him support. anyway, i think it is too late now he has shown his capability as our manager and things will never get better with him at the helm, what difference will he make between now and january if he had different tactics he would have used them by now? and come january i don't want to see the once mighty liverpool at the bottom of the relegation scrapheap! and roy would still walk with 3 million quid. . . and not quite the winning mentality that NESV like!

Why doesn't Henry take the players out and get drunk with them. Have a bit of party. It might help with the mood of players. More to life than football.

Other managers at clubs seem to know how to have fun with players. David Moyes took his player on a day out to military training camp. Got a bit team building in them.
