Eds as you seem to shout down any suggestions that come in can you suggest any players? {Ed002's Note - We don't shout down anything. You want an honest answer then ask.}

The Eds are only being realistic, without champions league or oil money LFC are not going to sign half a dozen world beaters. We might sign one, if we time out bid right, but the vast majority of fantasy signings are not going to happen.

Exactly you should listen to Eds, Jeffren, Hooper and Austin will be signing any minute now

Some Eds this time last season were convinced Suarez was a certain goner, I myself was convinced he'd go. It's a banter site and all opinions shouldn't be taken to heart. If Suarez were to be sold it will because he want's to. He has been absolutely fantastic for us this season, and as a result his valuation as rocketed.
If you ask an opinion to the eds whether they think he will go they can only give you there thoughts, I have been a poster for 2yrs now to know that they have insight into what may happen regarding interest. But I think the way some fans abuse them is not on.
You can see that Ed02 dislikes most Liverpool fans and can see why if he has to read abuse, just because he relays something we might not want to hear. Ed02 said he would go last yr and he didn't, but it cost the club a new contract to keep him. He has said this season that there is behind the scenes interest, and I for one believe him.
Whether I like the thought of it or not the truth is that it will be Suarez who makes the decision to leave or not. Giving Ed02 Sh** is silly. You don't get people to change there opinion by shouting at them, swearing at them, or even logically debating with them.
This is a banter and rumours site, look the words up, if you don't understand them. Keep up the good work Eds.
The Cricket {Ed002's Note - I have nothing against Liverpool fans. It is a game, you shouldn't take it so seriously.}

I thought it was a business ed? ;-)

The Irish Rover {Ed002's Note - The club is a business, football is just a game.}

I sadly believe suarez will be gone in summer the only way I think we can keep suarez is if Liverpool do there buying and selling very quickly in summer with the likes of skrtel, assaidi, coates, shelvey, borini, allen, downing, carroll, reina, being sold to generate some money along with hopefully some extra from the club i'm sure there will be some money made available for transfers as the owners will know unless we spend on some quality players we will lose our better players and we will remain a top half club and never get any better the last 2 transfer windows have been quiet and I feel this is a pivotable window for us more so than the last 2 to determine where we are going in the future but I do have faith that the club see this also otherwise we will of lost 2 of the best strikers ever to play in epl and will spiral further down. any views

22 Mar 2013 23:35:55
Anyone else you want to get rid of in the summer?
Try to make sense mate!

So you think the players I listed there to sell are good enough players to keep us the likes of suarez and entice other top players and win us the league

Whilst I get what Iran Red is saying, how many of the players listed would get into the United side, City or Chelsea?

Not many

Nicky D

Reason I listed these players skrtel not happy, assaidi what's the point, coates not good enough, shelvey not good enough, borini not good enough, allen not good enough, downing only played when threatened to be sold, carroll unwanted, reina not what he was and doesn't want to stay, only my opinion but these players are good enough to keep us where we are but no better and if they are not good enough for top teams why us, think iran red must like sitting in the league where we are if he thinks these are the players that will transform our fortunes or help us entice top decent players

So in another interview done by our magic number 7 he slating your man that plays for them ferdinand as much as I love suarez I wish he'd jus do he's talking on the pitch jus like he has been doing less talking luis because u will always be the bad guy in the media eyes OH and I've jus seen the tackle on the lady that plays for US to me jus shows he wants to win I'd say he would even kick his GRANNY that's why we LOVE HIM his commitment YNWA luis JON96

You know that's actually just a joke. He's saying nothing like that

22 Mar 2013 20:38:37
My son was asking about what it is like on the kop and showed him the champions league semi final versus chelsea in 2005.

Reminded me what a night it was and how I would love to get that atmosphere back.

22 Mar 2013 22:13:45
Dream is all u can do now. U'll never get Champions League again. There's more chance of EVERTON than u lot. Who will u replace in the top four? Get real and rather mellow in your so called past.
ManUp

Form is temporary, Class is permanent.

Hah he's got a point, maybe we should look into buying an arsenal player to win the league for us?

Doesn't really count when all the players who gave you class retired years ago though!

Graphite whizz

Form can be bought. Class cannot.

Hmmm, remind me, where were Moneybags United before the riches of the Premier League?

Nowhere

Nicky D

United won the 1st Premier League having won the FA Cup in '90, the Cup Winners Cup in '91 and the league cup in '92 when they finished runners up. Are you seriously suggesting it was the launch of the Premier League that caused their success. You are either very young or very stupid.

AJH

Please post this Ed's

AJH, first off, I'm not stupid and I'm certainly not young, watching football since the mid 80's

Times changed for United in the summer of the 89/90 season when the first shoots of the Premier league were being mooted.

Martin Edwards was aware of the riches that were to come with the Premier League, hence the decision to sacntion the purchase of Danny Wallace, Mike Phealan, Neil Webb, Paul Ince and Gary Pallister all for an astronomical amount of money for the time. Fergie was quatoed in saying "we need to spend big to topple Liverpool"

As you will be aware the club floated on the stock exchange for the first time in 91.

I stand by my quote that United's honours were very lean pre Premiership years.

Nicky d

Nicky, not sure I agree but putting that aside, it's been 20 years when all the teams have had the Premiership money and City and Chelsea have also had bottomless pots of money, and achieved some success through it. Other than United, the only clubs to win the Premiership are Arsenal, Blackburn, Chelsea, and City. Only Arsenal did it without being bankrolled by a rich owner. I think it will get increasingly difficult for anyone to compete unless FFP kicks in and has teeth. Should this happen, Liverpool will be on a more level playing field.

AJH {Ed002's Note - Actually, right now Liverpool are in very, very poor shape for FFP. Haven't you noticed the vast amounts spent on transfers and significant losses the club are making?}

AJH, I do know you visit the LFC site and make decent comments unlike some of the dross I read.

The main reason I quote success before the 93 season is the fact that United had not won a league title for 25 years prior ( something we're about to face ) and I think the league is the benchmark for success. Yes we've won the European Cup in 2005 but it's that Premier League most Liverpool fans want.

I totally agree with you with regards to Arsenal, you have to admire Wenger for the way he plucked the likes of Henri, Viera, Petit, Overmars, Bergkamp etc and turned them into stars.

Not every team get's the same amount of money from SKY, the higher up the league table you finish, the bigger percentage you of revenue you are given (read this somewhere on line) - more featured televised games etc.

As for FFP, I'm not realy up to speed on this and as ED 2 said we made a loss this year.

What really frustrates me, is the fact we had the money to spend last season but blew it (in my opinion ).

Nicky D {Ed002's Note - Liverpool have been making a loss for a number of years. Search on FFPR and perhaps you will find something yseful.}

Thanks ed, will do

Yes but ed002 that's because FSG are stream lining the business and as with any business that you inherit that is not doing as well as it should you have to identify the problems and rectify them with a good business model and targeted investment.
Or you can talk complete carp like I just did!
In my humble opinion is what I meant to say:) {Ed002's Note - The club has lost more money thatn ever before year-on-year since they took over due to (a) no income from the CL, (b) massive spending on players.}

22 Mar 2013 19:19:20
why does everyone care so much about making anfield bigger, we need to get the atmosphere right in this small anfield first, also I don't really want a bigger stadium like old trafford or nou camp or all these colossus places. top european teams still dream about playing at anfield make no mistake, its about what we do on the pitch, not how tall our stands rise above it. save the money on tranfers and attract some top names

YNWA

Because we would make more money with a bigger stadium

Can we not maintain our same great atmosphere while generating more money from ticket sales in a larger stadium?

Why do you think west ham are moving, they have great fans and atmospere but bigger ground more fan better comfort etc ok they getting the ground for next to nothing but all in all good reasons to move.

United are where they are now through finance and investment. Unless we move with the times we will be left behind, further than we are now!

Nicky D

22 Mar 2013 13:56:52
Ed001, I would just like to know your thoughts on how you feel the club is progressing under Brendan, do you see signs that given time he will bring us back to where we want to be or is it a job too early in his career? {Ed001's Note - there are signs he will, given time, there are also signs it is too early in his career as well. I think it comes down to him learning from his mistakes now and taking note of what he can do better. It will be next season before we see whether he has done so or not.}

22 Mar 2013 16:34:16
Why would we sell shelvey, for me very much a young lampard, we know rodgers rates him & even if his tackling stays woeful there's an old fella playing for Manchester United with very similar attributes also

Swamp monster, Shelveys played a lot of games and hasn't done enough in my opinion. I believe he will fall quite a way short of Gerrard and Lampard level. I don't see where he fits in. Someone will pay semi decent money for him and we could use that towards a faster, more technical player with a better attitude.

A loan away would be a better option I think.
He did well at Blackpool and he might do well again elsewhere.
He needs some experience before he drops back too far.

MIKEY

I would keep him another season but loan him out. He is not as good as some reckon.

Shelvey the new Lampard? Mate you need to go to specsavers, Shelvey is an inmobile pudding who your right can't tackle to save his life.

Lampard isn't exactly known for his tackling, shelvey is only 21 and would benefit from another loan period. so many people are far too quick to write people off

I know Shelvey is young but he needs to improve his workrate on the pitch.

For this reason I don't think he will make it. You expect work rate from a young player.

I'm not saying he's lazy. It may just be he doesn't have the engine for midfield. I'd sell now if I'm honest while he's got a good rep and may get a good price.

Anything less than 6 or 7 mill though, I'd rather see how he develops.

Davey Sulls

I think he's a bit limited to make it at the very highest level but he's still a saleable asset so Rodgers is always going to back him as it's part of his job to do so.

We don't really have any dynmamic CM's. Henderson, Shelvey and Allen are avg at best. Hendo & Allen offer nothing real in defence or attacking third. Shelvey is ok around the box but lazy getting back. Suso & Adorjan are too lightweight for CM and not really pacy enough for LF/RF postions. Bit of a problem for a 4-3-3.

23 Mar 2013 08:51:24
With his goalscoring form earlier in the year, i'm quite certain he would have gotten into double figures.

Which for a 21 year old, playing in a 3 man midfield, is no mean feat.

I'd keep him, or loan him. Even if he isn't in Rodgers long term plans, perhaps a successful loan move would increase his value.

Either way, at 21 he has plenty of room for improvement.

22 Mar 2013 16:27:21
3 possible signings for the summer are:

GK Guillermo Ochoa
CB Bruo Ecule Manga
AM Henrik Mkhtaryan

We are probably looking at around £25m for those 3, so I wouldn't expect any more incomings unless Martin or Luis engineer moves away.

Mr Yellow

Don't know about Mr Yellow. More like Mr Obscure with those names.

I don't know why people keep mentioning Ochoa. Didn't the FA block a move to Fulham because he had 6 fingers on his right hand which meant a larger glove?

JFT 96

JP

The 3 names that Mr Yellow put forward aren't good enough.

22 mar 2013 16:12:12
hi ed great site was just wondering my fellow reds thought of rangel/moutinhio/and chapel/ as summer signing keep up the great work jft96

U buying this round?

22 Mar 2013 15:48:19
3 top players needed this summer. Dede Eriksen Sanchez. That'll do. Keep Reina and KEEP SUAREZ!! There's no point in my eyes wasting money on bit-part rubbish like Borini. Skrtel and Carroll look most obvious for leaving so that'll bring in a small fee. But there's no need to entirely dismantle the squad and overhaul it with Swansea players. let's buy 3 good young players who will make an IMPACT. DBol

Des Sanchez for a right winger and I like it. Dede hasn't really done much neither so I'd say stick with Kelly wisdom Agger plus someone else.

22 Mar 2013 15:22:21
I am very much of the view that Martin Kelly will do a Sergio Ramos in a few years and move inside to centerback. Thoughts on this?

It won't be in a 'FEW' years, most likely to be 'FROM' next year.

The real AG

Kelly is a centre back anyway.

LAVERS

Well kelly ls a natuarl CB

Hopefully he plays more than a few games in a row without getting injured.

Kelley is the ideal CB and with pace, another of his calibre and a new RB and hopefully we will progress.
Move Agger as a Def -mid and get rid of GJ and Skyrtle in my book.

22 Mar 2013 15:17:20
Suarez "loves" Liverpool? Heard it all before. Means very little in practical terms. Like many before him, he'll "love" and leave LFC. Nothing unusual and to be unexpected about.
Fans would do well to stop clinging onto his "love LFC" talk.

Luis Suarez is a red herring. The real question with which we should be concerned is, will BR spend wisely, replacing our star forward and overall strengthening of the side?

No doubt he'll have significant funds. The sales of Suarez, Carroll, Coates, Skrtel, Spearing and possibly Downing, Henderson, Assaidi, Reina etc plus what little support from the owners may give us 80m+.

Now that's enough cash that, with excellent scouting, would allow us to bring in at least five quality players.
Based on rumours here and media reports on who we may be looking at, the ff options would be more than (financially) viable:

Alexis Sanchez
Stefan De Frij
Mamadou Sakho/Dejan Lovren
Selcuk Inan
Jeremy Menez

These are just some of the options there are.
It's absolutely CRITICAL that we get it right this summer, absolutely CRITICAL. We cock this one up we are doomed. There won't a Suarez to save our bacon then.

Suarez is an enormous player. Replacing him will be no meat pie. Rodgers and Ayre will have to pull off something big.

It's not the impending departure of our icon forward that has me shivering in my boots. My worst fear is that we spend the resultant cash on sub-standard at high fees, they get found out and we genuinely become midtablers.

Coutinho will take the spotlight and shine and become our new icon. Months later he'd have impressed and got the big CL teams interested, and with us battling likes of Swansea, Everton and Newcastle for Euroapa, speculation about his future (which will lead to his eventual departure) will.
And the cycle will go on and on.

Unless Rodgers gets it right this summer, that, gentlemen, will be our future.
Buy huge talent (Torres, Suarez), fail to surround them with equally gifted support, and then lose them.

As I said, Coutinho will be an enormous player for Liverpool. I'll even put my head on the block and say that he'll usurp even Suarez. But, true to our nature, we'll force him out the club by time and again failing to bring in players of a similar calibre to support him.
Big, big summer ahead.

Roel

Let's get rid of everyone! Manager, stadium and fans

What about the players?

You been on the sauce mate

22 Mar 2013 14:45:53
Out:
Skrtel, Coates, Shelvey, Spearing, Assaidi, Gulacsi, Wilson, Pacheco and Carroll.

In:
Dede, Williams, Alonso, Mertens and Gameiro.

I would prefer to loan out Coates, we don't want him going out and becoming the next Pique, and either keep Shelvey for depth or loan him out to someone like Blackpool again to build up experience and confidence. And I do not feel that bring in a CB to replace Carra that is almost 30 will be a good idea. I feel that it is just the media seeing him retire and that BR came from swansea so they are putting 1 and 1 together and getting 5. We need someone that is around 24 or 25 that can partner Agger. I haven't seen much of Dede but I personally would like someone like Sahko.

Question for ed02.
Ed02 when I asked u the question relating to arsenal on liv page you said that please ask on the arsenal page but when I ask the same questoon on arsenal page any other ed reply that ed02 will no longer reply any question on arsenal page?
Ed please can u tell me what's the problem?thanc {Ed002's Note - You need to ask questions about Arsenal on the Arsenal page - as that is where questions about Arsenal are answered. Whilst I am not answering any questions about Arsenal, there are other Eds who will do what they can to answer you question.}

How come you don't answer about arsenal {Ed002's Note - Because of the tentaferes.}

Out of curiosity what differentiates a standard transfer bid from a 'cheeky bid'?! This has always bemused me
Thanks

Standard transfer bid : £20 million bid made from Liverpool for Sanchez

Cheeky bid : deadline day £3 million bid plus Borini, Coates, Allen, Downing, Skrtel, Shelvey and 2 rice crispy cakes baked by Mrs Ayre, made from Liverpool for Messi

Somebody mentioned some time a ago the definition of a cheeky bid.

A "cheeky bid" is offering 3 million pounds less than what Everton offers and a signed Emile Hesky jersey :P

The real AG

"here's 10 million big ones, I'm taking your star player in return, like it or lump it you sons of b!tches"

that would be a pretty 'cheeky bid' in my book

HB

A cheeky bid from PL history:

H. Wilkinson: (rings Ferguson) Alex, how much for Denis Irwin?

Ferguson: Sorry Howie he's not for sale but I'll give you 1.5 million for Cantona.

Wilko: Ok Al, sold.

23 Mar 2013 10:22:03
'A cheeky bid'

We'll give you £6 million for Mignolet.

Deal

Nah, just kidding, it was a cheeky bid!

Someone else posted that a while back, thought it was funny!

West Ham have dropped on with the Olympic Stadium. I still think its all talk with Anfield. Millions spent on designs ideas ect but nothing ever changes. There's still thousands of cars cramming into Goodison carpark every week, there's still restricted views all over the stands, still pi$$ing on programmes in the Kop with a Yellow Sea behind the goal. Well maybe not quite that bad but we STILL NEED A BIGGER STADIUM! DBol

Makes ya wonder, 50mil or so spent on de-funked stadium plans and goodness knows what else and a new stadium drops onto west ham, s lap paid for by the british tax payer, somthing not right!

West ham the next premier league club to be bought by foreign investors as there is no need to splash mega money on new stadia

As soon as Gold and Sullivan sold Birmingham and moved to W Ham the writing was on the wall -

22 Mar 2013 12:32:01
luis suarez will not leave in the summer. he will be convinced by the club to stay 1 more year and then if we don't qualify for champions league he will be allowed to leave.

it makes business sense to hold onto him at least until next summer as this summer money will be spent and a wage budget will be set for the future and if we keep him til next summer then the money from his sale can be used to fund new signings then were as if he's sold this summer and we then don't qualify the year after, we can only spend our net profit plus an extra 30% over the following 3 seasons.

the americans are smart! {Ed002's Note - You need to read up on teh FFP rules as you clearly misunderstand them.}

The real point is that if Suarez. es advises can convince him that he will earn more at another club, with his profile and image rights, then he will go, I personnaly think he may well be headed to Bayen, let's face it when are they not in the Champions League, new high profile manager, next seasons title winners, domestic cup success more or less on the cards, what can we offer him to keep him?maybe CL, footbal in season 2014-2015, title winners next season, nope, domestic cup winners next season, maybe, so put yourself in his shoes, what do Liverpool F, C. have to offer him, and please be honest with your answers. Red Gerry

I have no doubt Suarez will leave in the summer and I couldn't really blame him, however I also think he owes the club some loyalty after the support they have given him.

If he does stay, then I think he will only give it to January next season and access how the club are doing in terms of progression on the field.

was doing some research into Bosman players available this summer and I came up with a list of these names. any interest shown by LFC?

Ryan Babel
Miralem Sulejmani
Keisuke Honda (Jan Window)
Tomas Necid
Mathieu Flamini
Vladimir Weiss (2 Year Club Option)
Franco Di Santo
Brede Hangeland
Maynor Figueroa
Alex Pearce
Thomas Ince (1 Year Club Option)

Thanks in advance {Ed002's Note - No.}

Honda would make a difference if we could sign him.

22 Mar 2013 13:22:15
I'd take Honda and Figeuroa. Honda is class and Figeuroa is a good squad option as he can play left back or centre back. We need a player like Hangeland, but Brede is 32 and has lost all his pace. He'd be another Kyriakgos. If we signed Honda, Iturra and Figeuroa on frees, that'd be decent business in my mind. Then the remainder of the budget could be blown on a world class winger and a centreback or two.

typical scousers, banging on about your youth acadamy, yet when you look at the nextgen series which incidentaly is a lot stronger this year, Liverpool are nowhere to be seen. in fact Liverpool went out with a whimper when faced with tougher opposition yet all I here from Liverpool fans is (we have the best accadamy in the prem LLF. the fact is lfc didn't have a cohesive youth strategy and youth coaches good enough, and not until very recently have they revamped their youth setup to compete when others have been doing it the right way for years. its no coincidence that chelsea, villa, arsenal are still in the nextgen and spurs have only just gone out. so please stop describing minced beef as if its fillet steak, unless of course you enjoy being laughed at. {Ed002's Note - Putting aside your pretty poor attempt at banter, it would be fair to say that generally the English academy systems have come a long way in recent years and Liverpool's is doing as well as any of the other clubs you mention and has already borne fruit with a number of players.}

I Suppose you need a bit of comedy on a day like today.

I was going to write a long, well detailed reply to your pathetic post, but then I thought, if you are stupid enough just to judge you players on their reserve/youth league status without taking into account their contribution to the first team, maybe you are just a fool?

The real AG

Some people are thick come on here with half the story trying to give stick we played that nextgen with a team that is one year younger than every other team in it I think we played a 16 year old in it to

Nice one ed002.
Speaks volumes when we had accedemy players playing week in week out (sterling, suso and wisdom) in the EPL and cups and playing well.
That's the real test of how good your accedemy is, not the nextgen.

If you must know why our accademy loses occasionally, It's partly because their are currently 7 players injured/on loan (Yesil, Pelosi, Ngoo etc. ). The main reason however is that out U21's are mainly U19's, our U18's are mainly U17/16's and some of the top players in our accademy currently train with and play in the first team. Imagine we dropped Sterling, Suso, Texeira, Yesil, Wisdom, Robinson, Shelvey, Ibe, Rossiter etc back into the lowest age group they could play in? My god it'd be funny watching the cricket scores. However, players develop more by losing against tougher opposition 3 years their senior, than they do by slaughtering their own age group, week in week out. I think Seyi Ojo (thats a youth player, not the Gangnam style lyrics) is currently playing 4 years above his age group!

The way to judge an accademy, is not by how well they are doing in the reserve leagues, but by how many players break into the first team. We've had Flanagan, Spearing, Robinson, Kelly, Coady, Wisdom, Suso, Sterling and Morgan all burst onto the scene this year or the last; and yeah, some might not quite make it at this level (Spearing and Flanno are mid table players), but what's really scary, is that by all acoounts, this is just the first crop of the Rafa revolution. The lower age groups are supposed to be even better. So come on here and bleat all you want about the next gen series results, its about the players you produce, not reserve team silverware.

YNWA! (Adam)

I think the England u21 game last night was the real test of where the LFC academy is at. At the end of the game half the outfield team was occupied by LFC youngsters. 5 out of 10 really says it all about the strength of the academy. And just to confirm the ignorance of the original poster here's a list of current England captains at all levels.
England U16: Jordan Rossiter (LFC)
England U19: Andre Wisdom (LFC)
England U21: Henderson (LFC)
England: Gerrard (LFC)

Steven Taylor 7m
Alexis Sanchez 15m
Frank Lampard free

Ahahahhaa. Good banter there.

Taylor, Lampard possibly but just can't see Sanchez at Everton.
You should really be posting this on your own bluenose page.

Frank Lampard H the same Lampard that's been constantly criticized for not being able to play with Steven Gerrard?

I would like to pull a Rafa and state facts:

Fact 1: Luis Suarez loves playing for Liverpool, and has said as much.

Fact 2: He has just signed a new contract

Fact 3: Happiness at our club does not preclude happiness at another. I have been in love with several women at the same time. Loyal to all of them :)

Conclusion: Luis loves our club. He loves football more and wants to be on the world stage that is CL. I for one will be surprised if he stays but will offer a thankyou if he leaves. If we tarnish him the way we did Torres, what does that say about our fans? We could draw upwards of 50 million for him. Sign up Eriksen, Lewandowski and a top center back and I would be happy. No, we won't have a player up front of Luis' abilities, but there aren't many of him around.

Coop

Exactly "there aren't many of him around". we should not be held to ransom over him. if Cavani is worth upwards of 60 million and Falcao is work up there in the 60's as well then how is Suarez not worth that. I would hold out for atleast 60-65 and not a penny less.

"Luis loves our club"

Bless, just like Henry and Fabregas loved Arsenal!

And the famous once a blue always a blue springs to mind.

On a positive note away from the Suarez saga and debate.

Our lads did well in the under 21's, Shelvey, Hendo, Wisdom, Sterling ( had a good game ) and Robinson who came on a sub and scored.

5 players from LFC in the team.

As a Liverpool Fan,
The following hurts to say.

Suarez is gone. He loves Liverpool, but he wants Trophies. And Unfortunately Liverpool are quite away from 1st, and in the next 4-5 years will be lucky to get into top 4. Also he wants to win a Champions League, So Bayern, Real, and PSG, Only big teams have a chance, He will go for around 45-48 Mil, which we hopefully use smart and pick up many good youthful talents, No Jumping off the Religion that is L. F. C. , YNWA! Go on you Reds! Get some goals! I want some Europe.

Hairy Yonk.

What a Donkey the poster is.

£35 mill at tops!

Jonjo Shelvey fired in a fine cross to the back post for Liverpool team-mate Robinson to volley in a second in the 64th minute.

The future is bright boys and girls.

Zaha stole the show.

Hopefully BR realizes that Henderson should be starting every game from now until the end of the season, he was playing well and then inexplicably gets dropped for Allen. I just don't get it. A midfield three of Hendo, Gerrard, Lucas and a front three of Coutinho, Sturridge, Suarez. Bring on Downing for Coutinho around 60-65 minutes. Maybe let Suso, Teixeira, Ibe make some cameos. Heads up Reds, the future is bright despite some poor performances/tactics/team selection. Had to expect some errors from BR this season but they've been few and far between in my opinion. Stay positive, stay optimistic, stay RED. Take care fellas.

Totally agree with you on formation and players. Rodgers will, unfortunately, defend his purchase of Allen for a bit more. How about the England. I mean Liverpool U-21s? I'm from Upper Darby btw

good line up.
but downing does a better work than sturridge and countinho defensivly.
but countinho is a little gem who links with suarez better than anyone.
so drop sturridge and let downing and countinho starts in wings with suarez. which has produced more goals than any set up.

Glen Johnson doesn't get into as many attacking situations with Downing there as he takes the space.
Your right in thinking a narrower midfield is needed leaving space for the fullbacks to overlap.

I think Rodgers has realised that he can't start Downing, Suarez, Coutinho and Sturridge at the same time.

One of these players needs to drop out in order to control the midfield, because obviously we havnt done too well with only two in midfield!

So i'd agree that Downing would be the one to make way, the other three offer far more attacking impetus!

But as someone pointed out, Downings defensive work is better than the above 3, so I would expect Downing to stay and play intermittently, until Coutiniho adds a denfensive side to his game, Or until we buy another CDM.

I disagree, the front 4 of Downing, Suarez, Coutinho & Sturridge has worked in every game when Lucas and Gerrard were the holding players. fact is Rodgers changed the two most important players (defensively).

1. Lucas (which totally took the pressing and control away from us) & played Allen who may I just say apposing players have no respect for as an enforcer.

2. Carragher (granted he was injured but still skrtel was very rusty to say the least which cost us dearly) and if jones didn't make those two or three point blank one on one saves then we could have been 5 maybe 6 goals down.

100% agree with everything you said Philly Red. Good post.

Don't know if anyone has listened to the interview with Rodolfo, Inglethorpe and McParland. I like the way there is more interaction with the club and the fans.

I feel there would be no problem persuading Suarez to stay, IF he sees A World class forward, Central Midfielder, and Centre Half join VERY early in NEXT Window. But that would be backed by a quality right winger, left back and perhaps another midfielder or Centre half. There are people who could make way to fund some of that (we can all debate who) BUT A REAL STATEMENT OF INTENT HAS TO BE SHOWN BY F. s. g. Those players MUST have a real desire and will to win because we lack leaders and direction ON THE PITCH when it's going belly up. And though its harder without Champs Leauge-a) Were still a giant name b)you have to sell the project c)it's often about the package offered-Qpr proved that!

He should be staying if he appreciates how much the club and the fans think of him.
How the club and fans stuck by him during you know what and if he likes being here as much as he says

Not if we have to pander to his every wim

Lyndon

Whats another 100mil sure its only money!

I agree with Lyndon. Sick of listening to whining footballers now - if he wants to go - let him. Liverpool backed him to the hilt and he now flirts with other clubs.

Gazman

Gazman, has he ever said he wants to go?

The fact is Kaith if he's not saying he's going to stay, he shouldn't say anything.

Gazman and Lyndon would presumably be far happier with Luis gone, mediocre replacements shipped in, and the club likely to sink into the bottom half of the table, while those of us who actually fork out good money to watch the team are expected to pay more for the privilege.

Red Owl

Dede for CB
Wanyama for CM
Kevin Gameiro for ST

Red Owl. So your ok with the club bowing and scrapping to keep a player "IF" he wants to leave.

Grow a pair mate the Clubs always as and always will be bigger than one player who
ever that player is

Last thing I want is for him to leave. But the day he asks let him go

Hey ed just want to get your thoughts on young Marc Pelosi, I've seen him play a few times and he looks a great technical and versatile player, also I heard a few rumours that he was close to making his debut before sustaining the long term injury?

AsianRed {Ed001's Note - he was expected to get a place on the bench this season, he had made good progress, it was unfortunate for him. I like him a lot, but he needs to keep working and not think he has made it. The good thing with our current squad is that young players do feel they have a chance of getting football.}

He was the most consistent performer in the u21 this season, his match ratings probably never dropped below 8 out of 10.

definitely the best midfielder we have in our u21. he can play CM, DM, LW, RW, LB a pure footballer with a gifted left foot.

hello eds I don't post much and I haver never posted a question towards an ed. this one is especially for ed1. I have been watching every youth game and u21 game this year and am very impressed with ibe, sama, mclaughlin, dunn and jones. in your opinion ed 1 who do you think will be ready to push for a first team place next season. my personal choices would be mclaughlin, texeira, ibe and for a long shot I would say adorjan. I just wanted your opinion ed 1 on who you believe who has the talent to make a push next year? also I hear bijev has earned a visa I would like to hear your thoughts on him?

thanks

Calum Red {Ed001's Note - I haven't seen anything of Bijev to give an opinion sorry. As for the rest, for me it is likely to be Texeira or Ibe, purely because there is a gap in the squad for them to take. McLaughlin has Johnson to push out, I can't see him doing that yet, or Kelly for that matter.}

Kelly & Wisdom will most likely be covering CB next season so that could leave McLaughlin to cover Johnson.
