Great start to the weekend united losing. I shouldn't be so bitter but I am. Great win for Huddersfield! Huge game tomorrow I'm hoping for a win but its going to be very tough. I see a lot of people calling for ox to come in and coutinho drop into the 3 man midfield but I think we should stick with the team that played Maribor except for Gomez to come in for TAA (better defensively) . I know wini hendo and can aren't the most glamorous to watch but against united we looked very solid and restricted them to very few chances. Same again boys except nick a goal or 6 too and make my weekend by finishing in the top 4.

It just shows you how crazy this league is, Huddersfield beating them is fantastic, utds last 2 league games now have been poor so long may it continue. Tomorrow will be a difficult game for both us and for Spurs, but we'll do it, I'm quite confident about this one. I know we absolutely annihilated Maribor but I think we need to do similar to a big team in the league and show others we mean business, let's do it to Spurs and get cracking on with the rest of the season!

21 Oct 2017 20:49:08
would like to see Milner keep his place tomorrow they looked more balanced with him in C. M but got a feeling Henderson will be back so more sideways and backwards passing from hendo.

21 Oct 2017 20:57:42
Our Record against top 6 teams is very good. So I expect us to win tomorrow. No excuses!

21 Oct 2017 21:21:16
And if we don’t you’ll be on here digging out the usual suspects.

21 Oct 2017 21:55:35
And if we don’t, We ll have one less usual excuse covered lol! “ We are very good against the top 6 teams and only struggle against the bus parking. ”.

21 Oct 2017 22:08:00
Good shout Harry missed you in the week when we won 😉.

21 Oct 2017 22:17:05
Back to business for utd. Title winners? Do me a favour. I don't think they will finish second either although their good start may help see them finish top four although even that is far from guaranteed.

I wish I shared everyone's optimism for tomorrow. We have a good record against them true but we are away and kane is in good form, so is their keeper. I think we need the win.

21 Oct 2017 23:05:53
More sideways and backwards passing. can I just say that a huge part of keeping the ball is to not give the ball away. This funnily enough means that sometimes you pass sideways and sometimes you backwards. You'll also find that you can pass forward doing this as well. Hendo's first thought is and will always be to get the ball forward hence why he always looks up to find a player in a more advanced position. This however isn't always on. Hope this clears up the negativity by a few on our club captain. I hope he returns tomorrow but I also hope Can plays where he plays best as a DM which will allow Hendo to play where further advanced. Either way I'm happy to have him anywhere. Good luck tomorrow reds. This post was by know way. meant as sarcasm. 👀.

21 Oct 2017 23:51:47
CJ FARMER.
everyone has there own opinions on players and i respect yours on Henderson i just think they looked more balanced with Milner even emre can looked better this is just my opinion hopfully we bag 3 points tomorrow.

22 Oct 2017 01:58:09
Hendo does so much more than switch the play. His running off the ball is first class, his ball winning is as good as any midfielder in the league. He is involved in nearly every goal we score. Miner was great midweek and it's great to have these problems.

22 Oct 2017 02:17:00
CJ, please dun mislead people, Hendo first instinctbhas always been to pass back or side way. It's only on rare occasions. When its too convenient and obvious that he pass it forward. that's the problem with him. And he can't even dribble past my grandma for goodness sake.

{Ed001's Note - you are the one misleading people, get off Hendo's back. This nonsense about back passing and sideways passing is just that - nonsense. You are a boo boy who makes up lies to have a dig at a player you don't like.}

22 Oct 2017 03:54:45
You can’t compare Hendo playing in a deeper role with Milner playing in a more advanced role. Hendo’s role by definition is going to involve a lot of switching play and playing the percentages, while Milner’s role was to get forward and create chances knowing there was cover behind him.

First priority against Tottenham away from home should be to keep it solid in midfield and shut down the space for Erikson and to prevent dangerous balls into Kane, then look to use Salah, Firmino and Salah on the counter. I would go for Hendo deep, Can and Gini further forward, the bring Milner on for Gini if he’s not performing away from home.

22 Oct 2017 06:43:35
LOL! Did I Read Hendo always looks up forward for a pass? Hendeson looks up where he see a player which is 95% either Matip or Lovren why he pass backwards. He has no ability to turn the ball from own half and carry it forward something Can does brilliantly!
No one is booing him, it’s observation you ll see next time you watch him.

{Ed001's Note - that is simply not true, he can do it, he just doesn't because that is not his role in the team. He is there to keep it simple. That is what he is instructed to do, which is why he doesn't play the long raking passes unless they are defo on.}

22 Oct 2017 07:19:26
Which is what I explained in my previou post that he is not suited to play deep and his best attributes lies elsewhere. You are shonning him to a role which will see the end of his spell at the club! Instead of buying couple of players to sit deep we signed relatively 3 similar Henderson’s in Milner, Wijnaldum and now AOC ( however you look into it ) . Have you ever thought why we don’t progress as a team? This is the reason! We keep buying the same players over and over again!

{Ed001's Note - you said he can't do more and that he never looks up. The problem he has is the same one Lucas did in the deeper position, and almost every other player playing there. The options are limited as they are restricted from moving forward with the ball themselves. They are wholly reliant on movement ahead of them to give them an option to pass. The usual option, and mostly the best, is to go wider to create better angles and to drag the opposition around. The problem is that every time a midfielder in that role goes wide he gets stick for passing sideways when it is the right thing to do. You go to one side to draw the opponents over and create a gap on the opposite flank. It is not like a midfielder like that can do what Boufal did yesterday, so the options available are limited.}

22 Oct 2017 07:59:31
I also doubt his ability to play in the deep Ed01. He for me has none to play there! Lucas was a good stopper, read the game well and did the job what was asked out from him ( pre injury ) which is to stop any attack. Lucas was also a better passer and always liked to spread it forward.
Henderson has none of these qualities to play deep. Hence I would have never played him there! He is a compete misfit as a stopper of a deep playmaker.
Henderson for me is a like a scared kid on the pitch who pass it another guy and be safe! You got to take risk at times which he doesn’t.
Cam tries, at times he looses the ball but his intentions are always to start an attack by himself. Neither are good passer of the ball.

Now for a moment take out the passing stats, does he protect the defense enough? Absolutely NOT another task which he is asked to do in that role!

Henderson is one of those players who is good in quick one two with another player. But we have enough players to do that anyways!

He doesn’t have the confidence / ability in spraying passes when he is given time and space! Hence why our midfield struggles when opposition sit deep.

Just my view.

{Ed001's Note - he has the qualities though, the issue is not that, it is that it stifles his best qualities, the forward runs and the movement he has are useless in the role he plays.}

22 Oct 2017 09:09:13
Genuine question as I don't watch the England games. What role does Henderson play in them? If a different role does everyone see a different Hendo then who displays all these other qualities?

{Ed025's Note - he does exactly the same thing for them jayden imo "busy doing nothing" i describe it as, he touches the ball a lot and runs like the wind but never really achieves anything, im sure lots will disagree with me mate but i can only say what i see..

22 Oct 2017 10:16:42
He Plays alongside Dier and basically does nothing other than running around which was so boring that the midfield lacked creativity and the manger dropped him favor of Winks. I am 100% with Ed025 on Henderon. Absolutely limited player who wouldn’t get into any team above us.
7 years at the club and stil don’t know what his true position is. Just had one good season in which he was neither a deep creator or a playmaker.
I like him he is very passionate about the club and genuinely nice lad. But ubforntunately the bus stops there.

22 Oct 2017 10:47:39
I don't understand the dier hype either though! Redknapps joint 11 had dier in which baffled me I would rather have gini/ Henderson/ can/ Coutinho/ Ali/ dembele/ erikson dier is probably the worst midfielder either of us have.

{Ed001's Note - this is the problem, all of you only see attacking play and none of you understand the defensive side. It is because of that you all want Alli etc over the ones that defend. Dier is excellent at shielding a defence and is very good on the ball. His role is not about doing any more than having a good touch and protecting the back four.}

22 Oct 2017 13:28:16
When Henderson got that red against city, we lost the league. That should be evidence enough of the value of a fit and fighting Henderson. I think if he gets fit and played alongside keita next season, we might see the same player. And to be honest, I'd prefer an out of form Henderson to Milner against any other premier league team.

{Ed025's Note - an in form hendo is not worth a carrot aoe so what the hell an out of form one is i dread to think mate..

22 Oct 2017 13:37:59
You don’t understand the hype on Dier, Coz you clearly don’t understand the midfiled or the midfielders
You realize Ed01, why I insisted you to write that article 😎😎😎.

{Ed001's Note - and yet you criticised Hendo for sideways passing, despite knowing his role is to just move the ball quickly! People just only care about attacking, that is why the best player awards always go to forwards, they see a last ditch tackle as a great piece of defending, but only because they have not realised that the same player could have just positioned himself well and never needed to make the tackle at all.}

22 Oct 2017 13:55:48
Would Stevie G not have slipped then if Hendo had not been suspended.

22 Oct 2017 14:11:51
I criticize hendeson coz he doesn’t shield the defend enough. Henderson is not great on the ball either. I have seen the pair of Dier and Hendo it was schoking as well. He is no holding mid Hendo and I have said he should never play there. I also don’t rate his partner Wijnaldum either. In fact I don’t rate any of our midfielders.
They are all misfit hard core runners lacks quality on the role they should possess.

22 Oct 2017 15:18:12
I feel for you Ed1. There are opinions and then there are people who have no clue.

{Ed001's Note - sometimes it is just not worth bothering.}

22 Oct 2017 15:53:25
I think stevie g slipping cost us a goal in the first half of a game. Over the years I think gerrard has been guilty of quite a few things but losing us the league is not one of them. I think Henderson this season is a Henderson out of form. I think a Henderson in form - is our best midfielder regardless of what way he passes the ball. I rarely disagree with you ed 25 but I really do think he is invaluable to us and hopefully he gets 100% fit and proves himself (yet again) . As I've said before, my only issue is his composure in front of goal. I think he is well capable of getting more goals a season than he does.

{Ed025's Note - we will have to agree to disagree on this one aoe mate..

22 Oct 2017 18:18:02
So many times I’ve read on this forum people, so called Liverpool fans, referring to Gerrard’s slip against Chelsea costing us the title.

Is there a common illness that some suffer. short memory loss?

Did we not lose 2-nil?

Does no one recall the abysmal team performance when we lost 3-1 at Hull?

What about Kolo Toure’s inexplicable pass across the box to Victor “Barn Door” Anichebe in the last 10 mins away at West Brom when we threw away a 1-nil lead?

And let’s not forget the 3-3 draw at Palace after being 3-nil up!

All those games we dropped points in. We didn’t win the league when we beat City 3-2, so how can we have lost it against Chelsea?

I think there are those who can only repeat what dumbdits (pundits) and opposition fans say!

Rant over!
Thanks.

21 Oct 2017 16:56:11
I Love the Wagner ha ha what's the excuse this week.

Believable9 Unbelievable0

21 Oct 2017 17:23:14
think they left there bus at home 😃.

21 Oct 2017 17:49:08
Always nice to see them lose. And Jose's face during his interviews is a sight to behold.

21 Oct 2017 20:08:12
what Klopp could not do, his pal has done it.

Wanger shows the way to Klopp.

Cheers.

21 Oct 2017 21:33:02
Thing is samikewell, Mourinho could hardly park the bus against Huddersfield like he did with us.

21 Oct 2017 16:49:51
Here Ed001 good call about Mykitarian he really isn't all that at all. I think we dodged a bullet mate.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - I am a bit surprised how bad he has been though.}

21 Oct 2017 16:57:39
I thought he'd be brilliant to be fair, he's far from it, glad we didn't get him.

21 Oct 2017 17:53:38
Obviously you don't become a bad player over night Ed but he really is terrible at the moment.

{Ed025's Note - hes the second worst player in the prem barry...your ox is out on his own at No 1 mate..

21 Oct 2017 17:59:30
Ah hello Ed025!How is life in Southern Comfort land?

{Ed025's Note - its good thanks barry, weather is crap though and im sure you know that quite well living in louth though mate..

21 Oct 2017 18:08:16
Ed25 😂. Im pretty sure a few Everton players will be pushing Ox for that title. When is Sigurdsson due to make his footballing debut for you anyway after his big money move 😉.

{Ed025's Note - i dont count any of our mob jayden..as it was about footballers mate..

21 Oct 2017 18:17:08
Ahh tell me about it. I made sure I was well stocked up with a pallet or two of Jim Beam just in case mate.

{Ed025's Note - being wet inside sure beats the hell of being wet outside barry.. enjoy mate..

21 Oct 2017 18:31:15
Cheers Ed.

21 Oct 2017 18:39:22
Ed25 😂 Great response. looking at the table though it's not all that doom and gloom for you. A couple of wins and you could find yourself in the top half of the table.

{Ed025's Note - its getting them couple of wins though jayden, we dont actually look like scoring never mind winning at the moment mate, its a very difficult time for the boys in blue at the moment..

21 Oct 2017 20:16:46
Ed's

Never expected you will say this say.

Micky has been Armenian player of the year and shined at Dortmund before.

His form may be off but comparing him against Ox and saying 2nd worst playet in PL is going over board.

And our fans celebrating for not getting him is silly.

This is the same fans going ga ga over Can, Moreno etc.

Cheers.

{Ed025's Note - i may have been a bit over the top sami but he has been awful mate, he has talent thats for sure, but he has to start producing week in week out or he will just go down as a wasted talent who never cut it in the prem..

21 Oct 2017 19:52:13
Ed what's your take on the VVD situation? Surely JK will/ should have a plan B if VVD doesn't happen.

{Ed001's Note - should and I would hope will, but I am not so sure he does.}

21 Oct 2017 20:49:35
samikewell hows it silly us been happy not getting a player who obviously can't handle the premier league? I don't think that's silly mate it's sense is it not? He was a good player but he isn't in this league, so I think we can count our blessings he's at Utd.

As for VVD Barry mate, personally I don't think we'll get him so I hope he has other players in mind otherwise it's a problem lol but trying not to let my brain go into overdrive about the CB situation right now, we need reinforcements, good ones, biggest problem here is there aren't that many free/ good ones about these days but I'm no scout, let's hope they find a couple of gems in Jan/ summer :)

21 Oct 2017 21:59:23
Corleone that is something that I can't get my head around why did he not have a back up CB to sign in case the VVD deal fell through which lol it bloody did mate.

21 Oct 2017 22:22:04
Yes me too mate, no matter what position needs strengthening there surely should always be a second or even third options ready to fall back on.

22 Oct 2017 00:32:46
I think he will get better, the man u player who's name I can't spell.

22 Oct 2017 03:59:22
You mean Shaw? Haha.

I know it would be hard but I would love to see us offer up big time for either one of the Tottenham CBs. surely they’d be tempted with a big move and salary.

22 Oct 2017 06:40:49
Mkhitaryan is world class on his day. Unfortunately for him, those days come very few times in a season. On his off days, he would be lucky to make the Everton match day squad, he can be that bad.
Also, Im not sure Jose is the right manager for him. He needs someone to back him up all the time and coax the best out of him, more of a motivator.

22 Oct 2017 07:33:58
Maybe the passengers don't agree with the driver of the bus about the direction he is taking them,

22 Oct 2017 10:48:31
I've even seen the arguement of 'miki' over Coutinho put forward by some Manchester United fans. Always raises a chuckle.

22 Oct 2017 13:35:43
Sure I heard somewhere that he can't be bothered if he's not up to it, but if he feels like it, he can be a master. Alas I think it's intrinsic in many modern day footballers.

21 Oct 2017 16:48:18
Just a quick note for Ron Keague - the Jansson player profile is going to take a bit longer as he was dropped today, so one chance gone to see him.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

21 Oct 2017 16:25:20
Sorry I meant Mooy of Huddersfield.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

21 Oct 2017 16:22:46
Murray as Coutinho replacement ok?

Believable0 Unbelievable2

21 Oct 2017 16:16:52
Eds001 if your about, watching soccer Saturday they keep mentioning a Craig Johnson in the Stoke match.
Do you know what happened with our Aussie CJ back in old days, he just jacked football didn't he, I used to like him when I was a kid.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - his sister took seriously ill so he went home to look after her.}

21 Oct 2017 16:32:18
He was a bit of a"Preditor"😁.

21 Oct 2017 17:00:06
Cheers ed.

21 Oct 2017 17:00:06
Cheers ed.

{Ed001's Note - welcome mate. The club did keep the door open to him to return.}

21 Oct 2017 18:06:04
How did you rate him, I thought he was fast as, all action, tough and chipped in a few goals to boot.

{Ed001's Note - loved him mate, he never stopped working though he was not technically perfect.}

21 Oct 2017 19:57:03
Didn't he work his backside of tho ed to try and make his game better? I'm sure I read somewhere he set targets on his garage wall and would spend all day practising trying to hit the same spot over and over again. Commitment that.

{Ed001's Note - he did work very hard on improving his game and practised for hours. Not sure if that targets on the garage wall was him or not.}

21 Oct 2017 21:35:42
I loved Craig Johnston, he had the same do or die attitude that Dirk Kuyt had. Not the best but a player you want in your team because of the application and will to win.

21 Oct 2017 23:34:57
I was named after him, dad loved his style and my mum liked his looks!

22 Oct 2017 09:05:51
Yep, that was him. Not a bad biography. Talks about how hard he worked to make up for deficiencies. Scored an FA cup final goal against Everton and tried to knick Rushie's as well.

21 Oct 2017 15:07:48
I've been thinking and this weekends game is massive (like they're not all massive, I know) but if we win there is no doubt the confidence will be firmly back in high levels. It will turn our season round if we win and if we lose people are going to write us off completely.

I'm not usually happy with draws but I got a feeling that we will see one tomorrow. That said I think we have a fantastic chance of winning.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

21 Oct 2017 15:28:52
Reading my post I feel I really pinned it down eh! Lol.

I think we might see a draw, although we could lose or win! Sorry guys, I hope there is a point in there somewhere.

21 Oct 2017 16:02:24
Don't worry mate, we've got it, we'll win I have no doubts. Should we not, then it's no the end of the world, we move onto the next game but I really do think we'll do it tomorrow.

21 Oct 2017 16:41:07
Yeah am with corl here after midweek our heads will be up and hopfully we get an early goal and we will win the game.

21 Oct 2017 17:56:05
A draw against Spurs isn't a bad result but if we're still harbouring hopes of a title challenge then (due to ours and City's previous results) it's a must win.

21 Oct 2017 13:54:31
I know this isn't Liverpool related but. When Marco Silva leaves Watford it would have to be to one of the big clubs in the world.
Where ever he goes he does an amazing job no matter what players or county.
Massive respect from me. 👊🏼.

Believable8 Unbelievable0

21 Oct 2017 14:17:54
Spoke to soon 😂 Still good though.

21 Oct 2017 14:19:31
Agreed he is excellent.

I fully expect him to take over from Wenger at Arsenal if i'm honest. Or maybe Barcelona will be in for him.

21 Oct 2017 14:38:10
Or may be Liverpool ☺️☺️😌😌😌.

21 Oct 2017 15:10:19
I like silva a lot but let's be honest, he hasn't done enough to become the next utd/ Liverpool manager. I can see him as a Liverpool manager one day but I hope it's after fifteen years of klopp winning titles.

21 Oct 2017 16:03:13
I think Everton will approach him.

21 Oct 2017 16:39:21
You could be right there corleone. Or SD from burnley.

21 Oct 2017 17:58:55
Rodgers and Hodgson were our last 2 managers mind and they were hardly setting competitions alight with their previous clubs. I'm more than happy with Klopp but if the situation ever arose where we were looking for a new manager then I think Silva would be an excellent option.

{Ed025's Note - i like him as well jayden..

21 Oct 2017 19:55:03
If Bilic gets the sack, Gold might turn to Silva.

21 Oct 2017 22:33:16
Very good, Rigsby lad 😂.

22 Oct 2017 09:02:23
He is brilliant and if klopp was to leave (which I hope he doesn't) he'd be my first choice to replace him.

21 Oct 2017 08:44:33
Has anyone an idea when lallana is back from injury? Is he training yet?

Thanks.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - november mate..

21 Oct 2017 15:11:18
Can't come soon enough for me motm. I think we have really missed him.

21 Oct 2017 07:21:34
Morning Ed001.

Do you think Klopp will be able to assemble a squad to really challenge for the league?

Our first team on paper can beat anyone on their day IMO but it's when the injurys kick in and squad depth comes into play is when we will struggle.

I honestly think if we'd have had Lallana and Mané fit last weekend, we'd have beaten the red mancs, they were poor.

It's hard though to see past the Manchester clubs with all the money their managers have at their disposal.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - if he is given the time, yes I do think he can. He does need time though and, as was said repeatedly when he came in, it will be a rollercoaster ride of ups and downs. Klopp will have to develop youngsters to compete with the richer clubs, which means there will be blips.}

21 Oct 2017 07:49:05
Unlesss it goes horrible wrong, I really hope he’s given time, the last thing we need is yet another manager implementing new methods and ideas etc.

The only other concern is keeping hold of our best players if we’re not winning trophies, again it’s the likes of United that can pay huge salaries to keep the players,

21 Oct 2017 07:51:38
The real test will be holding on to the few top players already at the club. Coutinho's got one foot out of the door already and we need to replace him properly. The others like Firmino, Mane, Salah, Keita need to be in it for the long haul for Klopp to have any chance of building a title winning team. You cannot challenge on a consistent basis if your best players keep on leaving.
Also to make sure that the few quality young players like Woodburn, Kent, TAA, Gomez get plenty of game time in the future. They cost us next to nothing and should form the spine of our team for the future than being used as squad paddings as they clearly have the talent to be regular starters.
Oh and stop signing squad players like OX, Klavan, Robertson, Gini etc. Serves no purpose in the long run.

21 Oct 2017 08:16:38
Exactly my point above Buzzer, need to keep our best players if we’re going to challenge.

21 Oct 2017 08:28:51
The best players only remains if you constantly challenge for the title.

21 Oct 2017 08:37:11
I think anything is possible over time, look at Leicester. I do wonder how much patience managers have when fans start calling for sackings and being constantly critical, he might walk in a few years anyway.

We know that we need to be better defensively and it frustrates us but I have to trust that a bunch of managers and coaches who have won trophies are working on it whilst still trying to keep to their beliefs of how they want to play the game.

Klopp is the best fit for Liverpool right now.

21 Oct 2017 08:52:13
Salah and Bobby seem to really love the club. I don't think we'll ever see either player force their way out.

The real hope is that all these relatively expensive youngsters (Gomez, Grujic, Solanke etc) come good and that one or two of our own grads make the cut to (Woodburn and Arnold clearly have the best chance) . I know we have a lot of other talented kids, but those 5 are the clear standouts for me.

That's half a team there if Klopp and Lijnders can get the best out of them and help them develop into the players they're threatening to be.

We can't compete with the Manchester sides, or Chelsea in the market. But we can be better than them at bringing through young players because we can't just buy-buy-buy.

{Ed001's Note - Salah said he was a Liverpool fan as a kid. Very believable as the club has a huge following in Egypt.}

21 Oct 2017 09:07:00
Mane might though. He forced his way out of Southampton to take the next step and he might do the same with us. Klopp's project is heavily reliant on the understanding and play between our forward players. We are already losing Coutinho and seeing Mane go too will be disastrous for us.
Keita, Mane, Salah, Firmino. These 4 senior players cannot be let go at any cost. Coutinho is gone, the rest need to stay to allow Klopp the breathing space to bring through the kids and keep the project going. Especially in a competitive league like the BPL, managers don't have the luxury of blips. Klopp needs his best players to stay and make sacrifices while the kids learn their trade.
It all comes down to our best players wanting to stay put. The above mentioned 4 players are the key, the rest (young players aside) can be easily replaced.

Isn’t the Ox and LFC fan too?

{Ed025's Note - that depended on how much they paid him drogie..

21 Oct 2017 09:42:02
LOL Ed025 Classic ☺️☺️☺️.

21 Oct 2017 09:53:52
To the above posters who are proposing infinite speculations.

How about, Let’s actually win a trophy than bottling the finals and celebrating to reach the finals lol!

Why do you think Hazard is sticking with Chelsea or Silva / Aguero sticking with City?

Trophies are like magnets. You win and you keep the best players! You don’t then you lose them!

21 Oct 2017 12:22:14
I would agree with Harry. Unless you compete on the trophy front then the top players will want to leave or at least attract interest from the bigger clubs. Klopp will need a bit of luck with the young players coming thru, some of which have the potential to be very good, especially Woodburn who, for me looks the real deal. I think Klopp gave himself 4 years to win the league, so next season then? A big ask at this point in time but things can change quickly in football. He needs a couple of lucky breaks.

21 Oct 2017 14:06:45
I would rather we give Klopp more time than change manager, I really like him, Like eds said lots of ups and downs, on our day our attack is unbeatable. We have to look to find consistency in attack to keep scoring, some games we look a bit devoid of ideas. As well as improve our defence and keep a solid balance between to two.

If it takes a bit more time of development the team and manager have my full support TAA i rate highly and additionally gomez. Think Moreno still is questionable but has been better this season, looks like some form of discipline is creeping in. Unfortunately when i was born Liverpools dominant era was coming to an end so if it takes a bit more time of waiting to happen i can live with that aha.

Hopefully we pick up some points today!

21 Oct 2017 14:21:06
Gini Robertson and oxade chamberlain are good players who will all have a massive part to play if Liverpool are to be successful. Klavan is the signing that I question but he is left footed and huge and I can see why he was brought in just not enough quality.

21 Oct 2017 14:46:09
Klopp has that charisma to connect with the fans something our previous managers never had which is what keeping is job and reputation safe. Everyone likes Klopp incluing the neutrals. Touch line celebrations. Hugging players, waving hands! He is slowly becoming the face of the club! FSG’s most important investment till date!

I could see him at the club for a good period of time inspite of winning NOTHING in between. He is a long long way off from being a good MANAGER! And I am pretty sure fans will never question him even if he don’t win the league.

We are safe as long as the money is being pumped into the league by Sky, the moment it stops we would then need results and trophies!

21 Oct 2017 15:32:42
What's the point of worrying about Keita leaving before we have even signed him proper! Coutinio isn't gone yet. I'm sure he will leave but it isn't set in stone. Mane won't be off, no way.

21 Oct 2017 15:39:52
The kids will only get better if we play them ahead of others when injuries and poor form strike. If sturridge isn't doing the business we need to give solanke a go, wijnaldum henderson etc need a rest and to be dropped to make way for grujic and coutinho to drop back into midfield.

21 Oct 2017 14:09:54
Didn't the Ox accept a pay cut to join us Ed025 🤔?

{Ed025's Note - apparently fornax, but if he was on minimum wage you will still have been ripped off mate..

22 Oct 2017 09:00:27
IB, i agree with you. I can see Mane forcing his way out in a couple of years. Much as i love him, he seems like he is quite selfish. Not in a bad way, just in that he'll put his career before appeasing his adoring fans. He has forced his way out of every club he's been at when he has decided he's outgrown them.

If we don't win trophies, and Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan etc come calling, odds are he'll ask to go. Might not be an issue in a couple of years though because Alexander-Arnold (who started out as a right winger) could be ready to take the mantle.

He is explosive, great on the ball, clearly has an eye for goal, and is a set piece specialist. I am almost certain Trent will end up as a midfielder or a winger. He's wasted at right back and his defensive side of the game isn't developing anywhere near as quickly as his offensive side is!

On a side note, trophies are made from non-ferrous metals Harry, therefore it is impossible to make them magnetic 😉.

Premier League Match Preview Saturday 21st October 2017

{Ed's Note - we have posted a new article entitled, Premier League Match Preview Saturday 21st October 2017

Believable4 Unbelievable0

21 Oct 2017 03:07:56
Hello eds

Hope you are all well.
My question is regarding Emre Can if I may please .
Now we all know that it looks likely that he will move on at the end of the year due to reasons already discussed, however my question is that considering he is playing week in week out on a regular basis for well over 12-18 months and will do so going forward and seems secure in the team where are his concerns coming from?
Going forward is he concerned that may not be the case .

Also ED 1 iwith your legends articles which are absolutely fantastic could I add Dejan Savicevic from AC Milan who they called the genius, was an exceptional player during their great era .

Thanks again .

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - Can knows that Klopp is not entirely convinced by him, he is not first choice for us, so I can't see any circumstances under which he would change his mind.

Thank you for the compliment and a great shout. His name is always one of the first to pop up in any conversation about great players from that era.}

21 Oct 2017 05:39:23
Right now when all the midfielders are fit, Coutinho, Gini and Hendo seem to be Klopp's first choice midfield with Lallana the first backup. Can is basically 5th choice and I don't think he wants that. Plus Keita will push him further down the pecking order.
Makes sense for the player to move on.

21 Oct 2017 08:31:45
Wasn't he called The Professor?

21 Oct 2017 08:31:37
Then Klopp is blatantly wrong. Can is head and shoulders above both Hendo and Wijnaldum. Why do you think Alegri see him as first choice? It is not like Juventus do not have central midfielders!

How could anyone keeps picking Wijnaldum ahead of anyone is beyong me!

21 Oct 2017 09:25:49
Harry you should be the new manager mate, you seem to know more then even Klopp so why not give it a go?

{Ed025's Note - harry is contracted to this site corleone..so no chance mate..

21 Oct 2017 09:34:43
I don't actually rate Can that highly and won't be too bothered if and when he leaves. I know he has his moments and is a bit of a tank but he's not really that special and I don't think he offers much defensively or offensively.

Lallana and Couts in CM for me when everyone is fit again.

21 Oct 2017 09:45:39
Hahaha gutted mate I thought he could really improve things ;)

{Ed025's Note - im sure he would corleone but he has been head hunted before but his loyalty unquestionable mate...so its a no go im afraid..

21 Oct 2017 09:48:40
Klopp is as wrong as any other manager who is wrong out there when they are actually wrong! Ofcourse unless you are “ Klopp can’t do any wrong “ guy 😄😄. Klopp has been proved wrong for more than 10 times atleast!
For example he keeps picking Mignolet when it’s clear he is a terrible goal keeper! Or do you want to justify that selection mate?

21 Oct 2017 10:35:59
I can't argue with that Harry mate, point is, what manager doesn't get things wrong? Klopp isn't perfect, what manager is. He does get things wrong and I agree choosing Migs is a big mistake on his behalf but this doesn't mean he's as terrible as you make out mate. He knows more then us.

21 Oct 2017 11:04:07
The Gini-Can conundrum is pointless. Can is gone in the summer and Gini will be on the bench next season when Keita arrives. Neither are future first team players for us so Klopp is making do with what he has at his disposal. Our midfield options are not great right now but pretty sure by the time next summer transfer window ends, we will have a very competent midfield capable of scoring and assisting goals galore and protecting our defense.

21 Oct 2017 11:52:49
Not entirely true eds suggested if his form doesn't improve Henderson could be out the door which though sad is the right thing to do, sentiment doesn't win games. The issue is who would buy him and pay him as much, I doubt he'd want to go, none of the teams above us would take him.

21 Oct 2017 12:10:21
Exactly Corrlone! That’s all I have claimed on the page! He is sometimes wrong just like any other guy. What piss me off is when people cover it with big toilet papers! Let’s actually not pretend!

Wijnaldum is like the son of the god according to Klopp! If you think so you too could join the hands! I don’t! I still think he was another wrong purchase when the money could have gone in to buy a solid Holdng mid last summer and actually played Henderson in his natural position!
Now after almost two years you come to the same drawing point that this team need a holding mid which will see the end of either Wijnaldum ot Henderson!

I am sorry but he has got a lot of things wrong like Karius, Robertson, Lovren, Matip, Klavan, Grujic etc! I am not going into AOC yet!

21 Oct 2017 14:27:15
Klopp doesn't keep picking mugs because he has blue eyes. Clearly migs does enough in training to be picked.

21 Oct 2017 14:49:03
And then the same Migs bottle it on the pitch! Who cares a damn about training! No points are won on training. I assume Karius and Ward must be bonkers on training.

21 Oct 2017 15:27:57
Here we go again. Attacking Klopp based on an opinion as to why Can isn't signing a new contract.

Can has a contract and he is honouring it and giving his all. I have no problem with that. If he wants to then move on because he (or his people) has had discussions with team (s) that win their leagues and win/ get to Champions League finals then best of luck to him if he is out of contract.

He didn't grow up as a Liverpool fan like us and so perhaps has a different view of the world. A rumour coming out that it's because he isn't sure of his role/ place in the team is nonsense, he has played loads of games. Any player not signing a new contract going into their last year is taking a huge risk of serious injury. It means they have decided to go, like Sanchez and Ozil have. Best of luck to him, he clearly has something lined up.

{Ed001's Note - it is not a rumour, nor is it nonsense. He has made it quite clear why he has chosen not to sign.}

21 Oct 2017 16:42:40
Ok Ed01, fair enough. But I'm not fully believing him. He probably doesn't want to go around saying I want to run down my contract because I have an agreement to join a team that currently more successful than Liverpool, I'll have a better chance to win silverware, arriving on a free I will get a huge contract and my profile will increase for other sponsorship deals etc. and it will help cement my international place. It is basically the right move in my career right now.

Again, I can't argue with the lad. He is honouring a contract and can do whatever he wants after that. But some fans would take it badly and might turn on him if he suggested any club is better than our LFC. So saying it's because of his role in the team or game time is a bit easier and less insulting to some Liverpool fans. That's all.

I'm just saying to people having a go at Klopp about it, don't. Can isn't heading off to a mid table team for game time.

{Ed001's Note - but that isn't what is happening. He wanted to join them this summer, Liverpool rejected a number of bids for him. The money is irrelevant, we have offered him much more money than Juve can. It is that Juventus have told him exactly how they plan to use him, whereas Klopp wanted to replace him with Keita in the summer. You can argue all you want but you are wrong and this is not about opinions so this conversation is pointless.}

21 Oct 2017 16:57:33
Klopp is wrong. Do you have a problem Fitzy? Hendo and Wiji over Can is a proper joke! Wijnaldum should have never been brought and Hendo at the very best wouldn’t get ahead of neither Keita or Can.
Can wants to leave coz Klopp prefers Hendo and Wijnaldum!

21 Oct 2017 17:32:53
Do I have a problem Harry? Yes, your constant state of anger is boring me at this stage.

21 Oct 2017 17:34:37
Ok Ed01. Fair enough. I actually see your point. I can admit I might have got this one wrong. Keep up the good work.

20 Oct 2017 23:19:50
Evening all!

Just been thinking about past players and who we could choose as the best ever! I know it's a difficult one because we've had some extremely incredible players but if you had to choose 3 who would make your top 3?

I'm just going to throw a few in, I could choose so many but my three : -

King Kenny
Robbie Fowler
Ray Clemence

Be interesting to see others but whilst I'm here speaking of Ray Clemence - the best
goalkeeper we've ever had IMO. Any chance of adding him to the legends list Ed001?

Hope all have had a good day :)

Believable4 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - he is added. He was the one hell of a keeper.}

21 Oct 2017 07:46:06
Thank you mate.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome mate.}

21 Oct 2017 08:16:27
I only say this because I don't remember kenny or ray
So for me it would have to be
Fowler
Stevie G
Sammy H.

21 Oct 2017 09:04:46
Best I've seen in my time watching? Gerrard, Torres and Alonso. All 3 were the best in the world in their respective positions for a period.

Suarez was awesome, but he was never quite as good as Lewandowski or Ibrahimovic. He is better than them now, but it's hard to know just how good he was with us because as a club we didn't give him a single opportunity to play at the highest level in Europe. A shame because than 13/ 14 side would've gone to at least the semi's in my opinion, but we can only speculate.

Gerrard, Alonso and Torres actually played for us against the very best sides, and we beat the likes of Milan, Madrid, Barcelona and co. Those 3 have to be in there for me.

Looking back before my time, Liddell, Dalglish and Fowler were all the best in their respective eras, so I'll go for them. Though it seems sacrilege to leave out Clemence, Nicol, Yeats, Hansen, Smith, Souness, Barnes, and Rush!

21 Oct 2017 10:02:02
Good post MK, some top quality players there mate.

21 Oct 2017 09:52:03
How about scouse players ed. Mcdermott, Case, Sammy Lee.

{Ed001's Note - I have added them to the list, though it seems strange to suggest Lee as a legend when he took a fair bit of stick while playing. There were a lot of people at the time who grumbled he only got picked because he was a Scouser.}

21 Oct 2017 14:46:45
Yeah I love fowler but don't think he is in front of rush.

King Kenny

Steven Gerrard

Mcmanaman

Left field choice for number three but let's be honest, there have been so many top players at the club over the years. I went for my favourite player from the era when I was a kid. Won everything did Mcmanaman and was brilliant to watch and brilliant for england.

21 Oct 2017 15:24:42
Take out his appalling decisions as a manager- Souness
Complete midfielder - passing, scoring, tackling, motivating team mates

Let himself down massively as manager tho'
