Man United are on the slide. Could only score 3 goals again tonight. Very worried...call a meeting with the referees...everyones against us!

We NEED to buy Liverpool "stars" Andy (roll out the) Barrel, Charlie Spasm, Jordan Senderson and Brian Dowling!

The boy Owen looks a good prospect though!

Sir Alex x

We need Brian Dowling Alex mate. He's the only player we have, who likes to drift in behind defenders and play on their shoulders.

Blair Mayne YNWA

You should be banned for child like comments like that.

Myk

I bet u have never even watch ur team play at old toilet have u, how sad u r

Alex, let me guess: your other favourite teams are Barcelona, Real Madrid and Spanish National team....By the end of the season you'll be cheering for Man City. Did you donate your hair to Rooney?

Blair

I accept your need for Mr Dowling and his "talent" is greater than ours!

Sir Alex x

Have you recovered from your hand shaking when you got battered, humiliated and totally outclassed vs Barca...

You don't need him Alex, you've still got Giggs. He's still one of the best at pinging the balls, from left to right.

Blair Mayne YNWA

Thankyou for your fan messages of support.

In response:

Myk

Childish...moi? Non non non...is this because I said I want a meeting with the refs, and everyones against us..can't think where that came from!

OK, you got me on the "United are on the slide", and that we want Liverpool players!

No disgrace in losing to Barca, probably the best club side ever Mr No Name. It is a pleasure to watch them.

The other Mr No Name, have you recovered from Stoke, Spurs and Sunderland?

I cannot cheer for or support any other team, I suspect you do though!

Sir Alex x

Not even Milan in 2005? I suspect you're a lying git
AC

I'm not going to stoop down to your level Alex. It wasn't that comment, but we'll leave it there because I've got fans posts to read. You might have some interesting things to read on your own site though.

Myk

About the 71st minute in the Brighton game this evening, play was stopped because there was an person on the pitch. So alex has gone from this banter page to gatecrashing Liverpool's games now? He must have a real strong passion for LFC to demonstrate such intense involvement.

Did anyone notice this during Sunday's game? When Skrtel was sent off, KD was trying to bring on Wilson. But I saw Carra mouthing "Jordan" to him and Henderson duly went to right back and Wilson didn't come on. It looks like Carra is up for the job already and I think his team selection would have been better on Sunday (ha ha). There was a definite lack of legs in the middle of midfield for a start.......

Was Wilson even on the bench?

We need a January spree and I am hoping we sign the following.

Jan Vertonghen. Ajax.

Gaston Rameriez. Bologna.

Esquvaili Lavezzi. Napoli

Lavezzi is a long shot but Here's hoping. Ed could you see any of these coming in January? {Ed001's Note - far too soon to say, there are so many things that can change by then.}

Dream on. Especially Lavezzi. Napoli could win Serie A this year so why would they sell Lavezzi? The other two are too hard to pronounce, especially for Kenny.

Buyout plus lavezzi would come

Napoli win the league? HAHA. They've only played 2 games mate. Eventhough they beat ACM, Cavison scored a hat trick, not Lavezzi. Lavezzi has scored once but that was only after 3 minutes in their first game. He is not proven and you will see. I follow the Italian league and I know what I'm chatting about.

Cavison or Cavani? Maybe you should concentrate more when you watch.

Cavani is a fantastic player though, I agree.

question.....front two of

Carroll and Suarez

or

Suarez and babel

Carroll and Suarez

Suarez Babel I like most Both ike to do a bit tricks with the ball.

I recall Babel doing tricks...someone pass him the ball and his first touch sending it out of play every time. I figure it was a trick since even an amateur would eventually catch one pass.

Babel is doing well at his new club. Scored three goals in 5 matches.
All the best to lad.

Red Indian

For the muppets who have picked Babel over Carroll. You are so wrong and clearly have no clue of Carroll's abilities.

Is Babel playing as a CF or a LM for his new team? Anyone know? I always thought perhaps he could have done better if we had played him more centrally. He was no winger.

I know the result against spurs was poor and the performance was at times shocking, and the mocking ive had from all my mates who are spurs fans(gits)and i had to walk home from white hart lane with my so called mates mocking me what they dont realise is little by little Liverpool under KD are getting stronger and stronger thats why i was still smiling on sunday evening to the amazement of those mates and the misses.Keep the faith fellow reds we are on the way back.
Up the pool
Redan

How much did you drink on sunday?

Nicely said Redan!
We are on the up. We are better now than we were last season and that's what matters. For the clowns who expected us to win every single game this season, stop dreaming. Any team that signs so many new players needs time to gel together. Any person knows that. The loss against Spurs is just what we needed. A big kick up our arses. Watch us turn things around tonight and on Sat.

Still cant believe people cant get over sun we need to move on and support the boys. I read a great piece on this is anfield about internet warriors and the grief KK got just cause of one game.

Any away game in the prem is tough and we dominated stoke and we were well in the game against spurs untill our second red card.

I think we can make the top three this season as long as we all stick together. The Brighton game is tough but a good one as we can show what we can do straight away.

Also eds do you see one or two youngsters involve
d in the squad for Brighton?

Mighty reds {Ed009's Note - Other than perhaps Robinson, Flanagan and Spearing (who I suppose is not a youngster at all), I doubt any will start. Coady could make the bench.}

Please help me im confused if we stick together we win and reach third place, how do we stick together lots of people on here live in differant parts of the world, tell me how im in .

I do actually feel quite sorry for the Arsenal fans. Losing to Shrewsbury Town reminds me of us losing to Northampton. The Arsenal fans deserve more, especially as their ticket prices are completely ridiculous. It is sad seeing a great club falling apart. Wouldn't mind getting van Persie though!

Rafa's Purple Goatie

I look a complete person now. They won 3-1. But I still feel for the fans.

Nothing to do with Liverpool or football really, but who do you think will win "I've Absolutely No X-Factor" this year? Here's the the phone numbers

Dial 0800 444 001 to vote and waste your money (just like Fergie) on Dimitar Berbatov.

Dial 0800 444 002 and vote for Michael Owen (part time footballer from Manchester)

Dial 0800 444 003 and vote for that Brazillian duet Fabio & Raphael, who named themselves after Michael Carrick's passing "No Direction"

Dial 0800 444 004 and vote for Jonny Evans, who makes Jedward look like the Charlton brothers.

Dial 0800 444 005 and vote for Slur Alex Ferguson and Shrek, with their great rendition of "Money, Money, Money"

Dial 0800 444 005 and vote for Ryan Giggs and his great cover version of "Papa was a rolling stone"

Remember if the lines are closed, your votes won't count but you may still be charged.

Blair Mayne YNWA

Ps. I think Jonny Evans could do it this year. He's already favourite for next years "Britians Got No Talent"

Quality Blair!

Dial 0800 444 001 to vote and waste your money (just like Fergie) on Dimitar Berbatov.

Seriously, Blair U can do better
May be u forgot about 100mn wasted by kinky penny on a few scumbags and how can u forget ur 35mn worth giant slug he makes berba look real quality.

Micheal Owen part time footballer, then what is Steven "IN" Gerrard (may be a second Owen Hargreaves).

Fabio and Raphael will pass the ball and run with it faster than Jimmy Carragher and Skertel charged by duracell batteries.

Jamie Carragher today makes Johny Evans look a great defender.

So may its Carragher who will win "Britians Got no talent"

Wait may be it may also be The giant Slug or the Blackpool reject or may be the whole liverpool team (May be that's why they for LFC because no one's got any talent )

Red Devil

PS
I can understand going 21 years without a League title, No UCL and 100mn worth of scums may just have "addled ur brains" Hope u get well soon also don't worry because YNWA that's because all lfc fans have addled brians.

Hope the "TRUTH" did not hurt much

It looks like you voted for Slur Alex and Shrek's rendition of "MONEY, MONEY, MONEY" Red Devil mate, good choice.

Your name is in the draw for a trip to OT, were you can watch your beloved United, for the 1st time.

Enjoy......

Blair Mayne YNWA

Typical clueless Red Devil. All you can do is refer to Carra. Sure Carra is ageing and might have seen his day but he'll still knock any of your players socks off. You have no response to whar Blair said and it shows in your hollow comment.

You don't even know your own players. The ref saved you against chavski, your days are numbered sh1te! Now sod off and go and play with the rest of your glory hunting packs of pussy cats.

No Blair rather I gave some more options so that LFC gets proper representation in places it deserves.
If u feel i should vote then i would vote for Kinky Penny's 35m purchase of the giant Slug.
Also i thank u for a trip to OT if i win (Though i doubt u have enough money to sponsor it, as i live in India)
And to the unnamed poster I just like to tell u that I have respect for carra but that guy is over as is evra and if he can't stop bale i doubt he stands a chance against Young or Nani. Ref did not save agianst chelsea those were just lucky desicions but i hope no one can deny the goals scored especially by nani was special. Also if u saw the whole game u will see chelsea were luckier as they had cole not sentoff.
Also i will appreciate it that a nameless poster doesnot call me a glory hunter after supporting Man Utd for 12 yrs.
If u have any more comments to make atleast signoff with a name Loser. {Ed001's Note - 12 years of United being at the top, that really hasn't helped your cause, if you had said 37 years or so that would be different. But 12 years of glory doesn't prove your love for anything, it is easy to support a club when it wins. But it is not your fault if you were not old enough to support the club before then, so I am not faulting you for it, just pointing out that you are not disproving the glory hunter tag. Secondly Carra was playing centre back and so not responsible for stopping Bale, clearly you have no idea what you are talking about, so it is pointless you posting from ignorance.}

My mistake ED, did not watch the game just saw the highlights and report it was Adebeyor who i wan'ted to refer rather thought it was Bale when i was posting, after u r comment checked the highlights agian.
And for u r info I M 18yrs old

what a beating yesterday embarrassing to say the least skrtle is a nine carrot plonker being saying it 4 months ed what is it with lfc these days they go 1 nil down and they crumble where is the belief ,determination ,passion gone, yesterday was not just a bad performance it was disgracefull they destroyed us {Ed001's Note - there is still a lack of confidence hangover from the Roy Hodgson days, it takes time to rid the club of that.}

Sorry ed but thats crap! we cant keep using hodgson as an reason,so when we win should we thank him? all the players and staff have been saying anfields buzzing! ? {Ed001's Note - it can take years to shake off a losing attitude, it took United 7 years under Ferguson to finally shift it. You can gob off all you like, but it is the truth and it is in spite of Roy wins come not because, so that was an idiotic thing to say.}

People should look at the game again before they talk about LFC being 'demolished' by Spurs.
We were still in that game until the sending off, although they did threaten more than us, and they had the upper hand.
We still showed some good movement and passes, but too many passes went astray. But the two key things were Adam's first undeserved yellow, and that Skrtel just had a really bad day- he gave away the ball a couple of times in dangerous areas, passed back to Reina under pressure who foofed it and lost possession, and Bale was in great form and caused all sorts problems.
Agger did his ribs in and was a shadow of his normal self until subbed anyway, and the ref was ridiculous booking Adam for that first challenge.
We were still in the game and could have turned in around and got on top, I firmly believe that.
Many teams weather the storm for half an hour in away games, and then take control and go on to win.
I reckon what stopped us getting back into the game was Adam's dismissal, plus Skrtel's awful form (remember, Modric scored from Bale putting the ball in from acres of space on our right- where was Sktrel then?), and also Agger trying to play on with broken ribs.
Yes, we were outplayed (especially on the right) but we weren't 'demolished' until after we went a man down, and then two.

I reckon we'll turn them over at Anfield.

Dude, you must have been smokin' before the game. Spurs spanked us.

No 'DUDE', you are clearly the one smoking. Spurs were playing better than us before the 1st red card but they were certainly not 'spanking' us. We could have turned the game around. Have some bloody pride, you loser.

Fella they were giving us a football lesson, you need to deal with it

No muppet, you need to deal with it. Anyone would have given us a lesson with 2 men down. Did you actually watch the game? They did beat us through and through but there was no lesson there learnt apart from starting quicker.

Hi Eds just wandering whats your opninion on Gaston Ranirez. Do you think he is someone we need, or someone who can improve our team? Thanks

Ghandi Floss {Ed001's Note - from what I have seen of him, he is an exciting young left winger. I don't see the need for one of those, we have Sterling! I haven't seen much of him though, can he play on the right too? If so, we really could do with a right winger and he has looked to have a lot of quality when I saw him.}

Thanks for that Ed mate

Ghandi Floss

The problem with being unfairly negative (for example, saying KK is a bad manager based on two bad results), is that on the internet it is all very public.

The players and media won't hear you complaining to your mate in the pub about how bad player x is, but on this site they can see it- and we need to remember how many people read this site.

Because our criticism here is so public and so widely read, we have a duty as supporters to make our criticism a bit more measured and thoughtful, and not simply panick and call them all useless after a poor run of games.

For example, saying that player x had a bad game is one thing, but to say he's just rubbish and will never be any good is unfair, and it can't do any good for the club.

I'm not saying we should be sheep and say KK is an infallible god- he wouldn't want that anyway.

But remember that some of the players themselves may well read a website like this, and it can only add to their hurt and frustration to know that their supporters are calling for their heads so quickly, and rubbishing their efforts.
Andy Carroll would be devastated if he knew that the fans he was busting a gut for on Sunday were saying he was a donkey and all the rest of it.

Personally, I think he should be used as an impact sub and not be an automatic starter, at least until he is more adapted to KK's style of play (and remember it would have been his assist on Sunday if allowed), but I would never say he was a rubbish player, or keep going on about the £35m price tag that he had nothing to do with.

KK said it himself when he first took over- if everyone pulls together we stand a much better chance of success, and that includes the fans.
Remember that your words here are in full view of a lot of people, possibly including some of the players themselves- if you wouldn't say it to their faces, don't say it here.
And remember, we're not just sheep, but unity and loyalty are all-important to a team, and to its fans.

Totally agree, brilliant message

tel1949

Agreed.. I just hope if they did manage to read some of the tripe posted on here, then they might get to read posts like these aswell..
Full faith...

Myk

I disagree. You think Kenny and the boys are reading Liverpool banter? If they are, then they are wasting valuable time. They could use more training!

To the muppet who disagreed, you are a total idiot. You think all the players do is train? Muscles regenerate when relaxed, so down time is just as important as training. Ask any Sports pro. Flipping idiot.

Hi i was just wondering if anyone on here can give me a email address for the body which is in charge of the refereeing in the premier league. Is it the FA?

It's my opinion that the referring is shockingly inconsistent and usually very much to the expense of my favourable team LFC (although not the only team who suffers at the hands of appalling decisions)

I thought that i would voice my complaints and spring to action on the matter as opposed to just moaning about it to my mates. Whoever is in charge needs to get it in the ear as it's getting beyond a joke. The Refereeing seems to be biased against or for certain teams (we all know who) and i am very close to boycotting football (i really don't want to but the frustration has reached the "enough!" level).

The rules of football should be upheld and the standard should be the same with all referees

Any help on this matter would be appreciated.

The Crow

Until the EPL start using foreign referees the whole system is never going to be fair. I think the refereeing is absolutely unacceptable, in particular towards LFC.

maka

Absolutely spot on mates.English referees are disgrace. They are on pitch for one team only and we all know who

The refereeing has gotten beyond a joke. Adam's first booking was totally undeserved.
In any other football league game that weekend it would not have got a yellow, but trust us to get the over-anxious d**k of a ref.
If that challenge was a booking then there should be a dozen yellow cards given out in every single PL game.
And nothing for Parkers off the ball kick?!
Absolute disgrace of a ref.
How the FA could allow this highly-strung person to totally destroy what could have been a great game for literally millions of viewers by sending off a man unfairly is just beyond me.
And how we as the fans don't have any power to make these awful refs more fair and consistent is an outrage.

Hi eds do u know how long agger is listed to be out for as KK did not confirm. I feel sorry for him but he can come back strong at least its not calf or back or even hamstring.

Wilson and Coates to start wed. On sat i think it will be carra plus either coates or skrtel. We have good competition for places.

Also eds any idea when kelly and aurelio available?

Mighty reds {Ed001's Note - month on Agger, Kelly is back in training and Aurelio I have no idea about sorry.}

We've commissioned Loctite to make a special superglue to try to mend the poor broken Aurelio.

He's out for at least 4 weeks. 2 cracked ribs. It's really bad for him and for us. It has nothing to do with his previous injuries, it's just sheer bad luck.

20 Sep 2011 17:45:40
Thanks for your reply Aintree Dave, and i'm glad i'm keeping you sane the Real KB because some of the posts i've been reading are dangling me off the edge never mind tipping over it. Cant belive Mancini moaning about his lack of midfielder's ha ha. That cracked me up a bit. I'm sure Milner,Barry,Toure,De Jong can all play in the middle of the park, prob missed a couple out their as well. Cheek of him ha ha. Jonson6

20 Sep 2011 17:35:01
D Agger you are the definition of injury prone... Holy shishkabobs I say sell in January and get Cahill to replace him.

@Ronillz ny red ynwa

This is injury was an accident not the result of his back or legs which he has suffered from.so get your facts right.DORSET RED

He broke 2 ribs. he is clearly prone to injurys but this was nothing to do with it.
cahill is the definition of overrated, agger, carra, skrtle, and coates are better than cahill.

MIKEY

Cahill will never get to the standards of Carra at his best , but now Carra is fastly becoming a liability to the team. He has cost the team goals in the last three games.I don't want Cahill and I am sorry to say it,but I no longer want Carra.Like the mighty Emlyn, Thomo, Hansen and big Sami, all good things come to an end.

Micheal Mouse

He trips and falls on his face and breaks 2 ribs. Common mate, softie of note.

Agger is a fantastic player,

Carra aint better than cahill, maybe 3 years ago! carra couldnt outrun my nan !

Noo aurelio is

Softy?? Are you kidding me? I'm sure he'd knock your socks off. He is not a softy and his previous injuries have nothing to do with the broken ribs. He's not a flipping boxer, he's a footballer.

20 Sep 2011 17:19:57
Daniel Agger is expected to be out for at least a month after fracturing two ribs in the 4-0 defeat at Spurs on Sunday.

The Denmark international sustained the injury when he fell heavily in the first half and had to be substituted before half-time.
Anfield boss Kenny Dalglish confirmed that Agger has suffered a break but would not speculate on the timescale for his return with the home clash against leaders Manchester United looming on October 15.
"Daniel has got a fractured rib, so he's struggling a bit," Dalglish told liverpoolfc.tv.
However, Agger's agent Per Steffensen has told a Danish sources that the elegant centre-back is already out of the fixture.
"It's the worst possible news. He has broken two ribs, and he must keep still for four weeks," Steffensen told sporten.tv2.dk.
He added on tipsbladet.dk: "Daniel is way down now and I certainly sympathise with him.
"He will miss the two (international) matches against Cyprus and Portugal and there is a match against Manchester United he also misses. It's insanely annoying."

So while Dagger is injured who would you guys rather have in defence out of Carra, Skrtel and Coates?

MJ

Carra and Coates.

I didnt even know he played sunday are you sure, and when are we going to give henderson a game?.

20 Sep 2011 17:13:05
Good afternoon Eds and reds,

Everyone seems to be getting things off their chest recently and I feel that since it is a free for all, I will add my two cents.
Sunday was a crying shame, we got done by probably our biggest rival for 4th spot and we got done 4-0. I was gutted, we didn't gel, our team play wasn't up to scratch and we seemed to lack ideas. . . As every team from Man Utd down to the bottom of the table do at least 3-4 games a season.
I'm not going to suggest to think how things were 12 months ago as even though we are in a better position, I would rather concentrate on the future as opposed to the past.
Let's have a realistic look at where we are:
People keep mentioning how Aguero has fitted in straight away and is already performing. As did Suarez may I add. Most teams that have added players, have done just that, add players. In 9 months we have a new front line, three quarters of a new midfield, a new left back, new bench, new manager, new first team coach and new owners. Have we been excited about this, yes. Are we naive enough to think that because all this has happened that we automatically should be playing world class football week in week out, can't answer for everyone but most supporters know that we won't be. Why? Simple, a team needs to learn to gel, it doesn't happen overnight, it takes time. When Man United lost Keane it took them a while to start playing a different type of football. When Arsenal lost Viera, Henry, again, they had some off games whilst they experimented with different combinations, replacements, etc. These are one or two players and had an impact on the way they play. We have changed just about everything. Right back for most of last season was Johnson/Kelly/Flanno, we played Skrtel there and rightly so, Carra knows he was more useful in the centre than trying to man mark Bale. Centre backs, Skrtel and Carra all season more or less, Agger has started nearly every game this season so thats a new centre defensive partnership that needs to learn to gel. Left back, we finally have one. As I have stated, Midfield and Strike force are new, learning to play with each other in Midfield, Learning to play with each other in attack, and finding the best way to link the 2. We have new tactics, a bench that is strong, we are in the best shape we have been in for a long, long time. But patience is required. When the team understands each other fully, I believe we have the team/squad to be winning by 3,4,5 goals frequently.
As for singling out players for abuse, it doesn't help anyone. Some players will fit into a new team instantly, others do take time. Like I said, this isn't one player trying to gel into an already working team, its 7 or 8 players trying to begin a new team, find their style of play, find what works for them and make it happen.
Is Kenny the right man? Damn right he is. Not only does he have experience of winning as a player and a manager but he breathes LFC, and if it hurts us seeing us lose as we did on Sunday you can be damn sure its killing him. But he will take stock, re-assess certain positions, and start again, and he will get it right, that I am sure about.

That's my rant over, I've always supported Liverpool in victory and defeat and I will continue to do so and get behind my team, I hope everyone else starts doing the same. Eds, do you think I have missed anything here because I think patience is all we need at the moment, it will happen.

So thank you all for your patience in reading this :)

YNWA,
WelshScouse

I have t agree with all of this I was absolutely gutted on sunday after this performance, it's probably my expectations now raised because of kk coming back and all the transfer activity. in my opinion, (and lets face it i'm not itk any more than any one else) we changed the team too quickly. too many changes all in one go, henderson is a good young player but the word here is young, he has potential lots of it but he should have been introduced more slowly, his confidence is shot now. adam is a squad player and thats fine people will mock me for this but personally if fit i'd play aurelio alongside lucas he can do everything adam can do and more he's better on the ball, good in dead ball situation excellent passer of the ball and again he has the talent and vision to do a good job for us in that position . up front we have to drop carrol til we can find a way to play him to get the best out of him play 442 in most games and again if all fit it would be reina johnson, carragher, agger, enrique, - downing, lucas, aurelio, gerrard,- kuyt,suarez. introducing coates instead of carragher and bellamy as an impact as kuyt tires p'raps with twenty minutes to go. yes i know that it's a big ask for them all to be fit but one day it might happen. in addition does anyone else have doubts about the general fitness of all these players cos i'm thinking maybe this new set up for monitoring fitness sports science {Ed001's Note - Aurelio in central midfield? That has happened before and there is a good reason it didn't happen on a regular basis, he simply isn't a central midfielder.}

Sorry ed hit the 'send' button in error, meant to finish with - fitness/sports science just isn't working they're turning out athletes not footballers, this may seem like a contradiction but they're not necessarily the same thing, as you've responded may i say yes it has happened before and as i recall it didn't go too badly however it seems that a good player such as he could adapt given a chance and lets face it he wouldn't be the first player to be played out of position and make a success of it

D Agger you are the definition of injury prone... Holy shishkabobs I say sell in January and get Cahill to replace him.

@Ronillz ny red ynwa

Its was not a pulled muscle fella it was unaviodable and could happen to anyone, not as if he had weak ribs! Keep Agger but buy another quality centre back in January for sure. We have room and also room for another centre mid and winger/striker.

Was he elbowed in the ribs? Kick to the ribs? Oh wait, he slipped and fell on his face and broke 2 ribs.... What are his ribs made of?

20 Sep 2011 17:02:10
Ed I see AVB is after been complaining to Hackett refs. If a few more complain surely something has to be done. I think the standard of refs this season especially is very very bad.

I haven't seen as many soft penalties given ever. In fact the reason so many have been missed is probably Karma

20 Sep 2011 16:46:20
I see Villa Boas has rightly complained to Mike Riley about the poor refereeing performance (Phil Dowd again!) against Man Utd. Expect 2 sendings off for Chelsea in their next game coz Riley doesn't like to be challenged.

20 Sep 2011 16:45:22
Liverpool fans, just wondering if anyone knows when Gerrard is due back and if you feel he will have an immediate impact for you. It surely has to be between you & Spurs for the fourth spot despite recent results. From a Reading FC fan.

Could be on bench tomorrow from what i understand! if hes kept hes pace he will be hard tom stop i guess!

Thanks Royalman. Nice to see decent supporters of other decent clubs here.

Gerrard'll be on the bench vs. Brighton and I think he'll get a run out if we put in some early goals.

Contrary to what you said and eventhough Spurs thrashed us on Sunday, we will finish above them without any worries. They are not going to challenge us. We have been unlucky at Stoke & Sunderland and have played very well apart from the Spurs game. Not only do LFC supporters believe that, most of the footballing community know that. Ignore the young generation on this page criticizing our squad and manager, they are glory hunters as are practically most of the youth nowadays. No one wants to work hard these days, they only want a quick fix.

When we finally get to the top of the league (2 more seasons) we will stay there and dominate. That is the real LFC and that is our game plan.

hi eds all reds re the andy carroll debate. i feel that we arent feeding him the through balls and crosses he needs. i read a very interesting article this morning( 20th sept) by mick dennis in the daily express. he pointed out how carroll was fed at newcastle, mainly by barton, with diagonal crosses and passes. mick dennis gors on to say ,downings crosses arent the same and he cuts back in. ive had a thought since reading dennis this morning. maybe the players we have are the right ones just in the wrong place.downing on the right inside him henderson, next to him lcas, and adam left. now i know lots of you will say charlie hasnt got the pace,i agree, but neither did ray kennedy! adam would provide the passes and crosses carroll needs. im not saying play like this every game , or even all match. but it would be a different approach, mix it up. really hopeing we get back to winning ways on saturday,im taking my 6yr old son to the match, we are in the mainstand see you all there. god bless 96 all reds steviep48

It is a little strange with regards the service to Carroll (when he has played), noticeably I've only seen a handful of good crosses in the box... mostly from Enrique. I would like to see more crosses from Downing and Henderson. We seem to either cross (ahem...Carra=lump) it from too deep or ignore him in the final thirdpreferring intricate play as opposed to good whipped in balls.

I'm hopeful when Kelly/Johnson and Gerrad are back, and the new players get used to their surroundings and each other this will change, our play will vary and we'll get the best out of him.

Brighton are no push overs, Kenny to go back to tried and trusted formation and personnel but team Gerrard with Suarez up front from the off. Maxi and Kuyt should deserve their chance to show what we have been missing. I wouldn't rush Kelly back as he will be needed against Wolves so Flanno should get a start. Aurelio in to add experience and communicate with Coates. One half of the team English the other South American. Bring the pace of Downing and Bellamy on in the second half.

----------Reina-------------

Flanno-Carra-Coates-Aurelio

-----Spearo---Lucas------

Kuyt-----Gerrard-----Maxi

---------Suarez----------

Subs: Doni, Robinson, Wilson, Shelvey, Bellamy, Downing, Carroll

Suspended: Adam, Skrtel

Injured: Johnson, Kelly (not match fit)

Gerrard is not in physical condition to start.

If he does start and playes badly all the "FXXXXXX" will come out of the woodwork and say the usual stuff about him being finished etc.

I actually want Suarez and Gerrard to come on in the second half.

First half:

Reina

Flanno - Wilson - Coates - Robinson

Kuyt - Spearing - Lucas - Maxi

Carroll - Bellamy

We're allowed 3 subs in the match, if things arn't going well then put on Suarez for Bellamy, Stevie for Spearing and Downing for Maxi.

So then the midfield becomes more like this;

Lucas

Kuyt - Gerrard - Downing

Suarez - Carroll

RenegadeRed

Surely Suarez can be rested and Bellamy can start? Gerrard will never start.

Why Carra? why? He is'nt that good anymore, as he plays yards behind the rest of the team.

Not a rumour but just a suggestion, what about Edinson Cavani from Napoli. Maybe we can persuade him with Suarez, Coates and maybe Ramirez if we get him.

Would rather have Lavezzi

He would cost 40-50 Million Henry aint got that money

You'll not get any.

Guess you watched highlights of his hatrick last night so now he is the best thing since sliced bread....

If Napoli done well in CL then Cavani will sty there if not may be Real madrid will jupm for him.

Henry and his firm def have the money but he wont be giving it all to us! he aint a charity and im guessing hes seen kenny pay 35 mil for a palyer thats worth 10 max! and thought enough is enough!

Lavezzi all the way! we need another saurez, plus someone like douglas costa(who played with our lucas at Gremio at academy level) or willian.

To build anything you need to start from the bottom up. If Liverpool are to compete at the top of the league they need to generate enough money to fund the purchase of top quality players. Therefore clearing out all the dead wood was imperative. Players like El Zhar, Poulsen, Konchesky etc were never going to play for the club again so to get them all off the wage bill and save the club £30m a season in wages was a master stroke by the powers that be.

I see people on here say Aqualini this, that the other. Adam got sent off. He should of known better being on a yellow card but then he shouldn't of been on a yellow in the first place. Im sure the same people wont be pointing out when Adam has a good week and Aqua is injured. But the whole top and bottom of it is Adam didn't want to talk to any other club he just wanted Liverpool, Aqualini wanted to go to any club in Italy rather than stay in Liverpool. I know which I prefer at the club.

The haters on here need to get a grip. Just read through the posts. 1 person saying we should of got Hazard, Aguero, Higuine, etc etc after last season and with no European football even if you could possibly persuade any of them players to join it would have been for the money no other reason.

Then there are others saying we should of just signed 2 or 3 £20m players. Again I refer to the above. Who would we have got? Plus that would of still left holes in the team and left us seriously under strength if we picked up injuries.

It pains me to say it but the most successful team of the last 20 years has been that lot down the road and despite having the Rooney's, Ronaldo's, Beckhams etc they have always had solid players in the team to compliment them. For every Rio theres a Vidic, Every Evra and Neville, etc etc.

They have won the league how many times over the last 20 years? With the likes of Brown, O'Shea, Fletcher, Neville, Carrick in their squad. These players aren't stars But have been pivotal to the squads produced for years by Rudolf. Its simply unrealistic to expect 25 world class players in the squad.

Here is a thought though. Is it possible that maybe – Just maybe Kenny and DC have built a squad of players were everyone in the squad are fit to wear a Liverpool shirt (some admittedly if needed due to injury). A squad that despite paying over the odds on some transfers they have compiled within a much more structured wage budget. That will ultimately lead to the club having more money to spend. A squad of players that want to play for the club rather than simply collect there wages. A squad that contains stars like Gerrard, Reina and Suarez. A squad That is capable of finishing 4th.

Maybe the plan (which the owners and manger has stated all along) was to balance the books putting the club on a sound financial footing going forward, leave the club with players with the right attitude and a squad capable of finishing 4th.

18 players left this summer and 7 came in. That is a massive upheaval and was always gunna take a while to settle. So far we have played 5 games (in which may I add have all had very dubious refereeing decisions go against us) and 2 difficult away games on the bounce.

If we fail to get 4th place with what is effectively Kenny's Team then is the time to question him not when we are 3 points behind Chelsea and 4/5 at the bookies to finish in the top 4 (Bookies rarely get it wrong). However I would suggest that the plan has been all along a solid team to get 4th then in the summer with all positions now covered we can go out and attract players with the lure of Champions League football at Anfield rather than simply breaking the bank.

For a Net spend of £40m we have replaced Jones with Doni, Konchesky with Enrique, The Greek with Coates, Johanivc with Downing, Poulsen and Meireles with Adam and Henderson, N'gog, Babble, and Torres with Saurez, Carroll and Bellamy.

Would just like to take this minute to Say THANK YOU to KK, DC and FSG for in the space of 8 months completely turning our club around! Thank You Soo Much for making my season ticket value for money again and Thank You for getting rid of G&H.

In Kenny I Do Trust – Hes Earned it!!!

Mushroom. as my phone cant reply to posts in the normal way, if your on about the counting thing it was about a guy and his mate counted together how many headers Carroll had won and came up with 5 between em, i did forget to put Carrolls name their so fair enough. If it was anything else like Henderson's price being bandid about at 20mil again when it was 16, cant be that hard to understand or Reina clipping one with his left peg straight to their player in our half what can i do mate. Jonson6 {Ed001's Note - I worry about someone that bases their decision of a player's worth on the number of headers he wins.}

The main problem we have right now - apart from all the morons who want instant success, managers sacked, and generally have no patience - is a definate lack of pace throughout the team in imprtant areas. Carra, Skirtel, Adam, Lucas, Carroll, Kuyt, none of these is the quickest of players. When we compare to our main rivals, it appears to me that they have pace in abundence - and real pace frightens the opposition. Especially if this pace is complimented with trickery. Suarez has both, which is why we all love him, but again I think most of our major rivals have one or two more of this kind of player than us. Bellamy still has pace, and hopefully will fit in better this time around.

When I watch the scum, you get this impression that they play at a much higher tempo thn we do, and their players seem to be moving, interchanging, pushing forward a lot faster than we seem to do.

This is also the reason we give away so many silly free kicks, because if Lucas or Adam lose the ball - that's it - they are too slow to win it back and end up trying to tackle from behind. Remember Lucas was always giving free kicks away just around the edge of our box.

Maybe when Gerrard returns to action we will improve our pace in the middle instead of having 2 'slow' players there.

I must say having Skirtel at right back on Sunday was not good, but remember Bale can get past any full back on his day, including the like of Ashley Cole, and so called quicker full backs.

I'm staying positive for now, although I am starting to feel like I did last year, that who ever we play can beat us.

Kenny Dalglish: He was given the role as caretaker manager last year when Roy left. He did not walk straight back into a long term contract based on sentiment
because he is a Liverpool legend. His appointment was based on winning results obtained since January 2011 and has earned the right to be Liverpool manager again based on the results he obtained. He will of course be judged long term on his performance as manager and the new owners are expecting results and the club to move forward. But surely being so critical of Dalglish after just 5 games is premature (immature)?

Who would Liverpool have convinced to be manager in January 2011 better than KD? How much has it cost the club to get get rid of both Roy and Benetez? Surely it's time to stop with these non-Liverpool half-arsed managers'? I believe that KD is the best manager Liverpool could possibly hope to have in Janauary 2011 with the club in such a transition and all of the problems from the last owners. Maybe we could convince a big name manager like Moreno to come to the club, but for me he is not a 'Liverpool Manager' and I would not like to see Liverpool playing the same defensive football as Moreno created at Inter Milan and I don't want to see someone like Moreno at the club. So for those criticizing KD, please provide us with names of managers you think we could realistically convince to come to the club and who you think will be better than the current manager? Because in all honesty, I can't think of anyone.

RedAce.

Couldn't agree with you more about everything except Jose m , would love him as manager in time but we need to stick with kenny and everyone else at the club for now . Hope we do succeed , and think we will , get behind the team an stick with what we have . Kelloggs96

I'll say it again, I cannot believe some of the shile of pite comments on this site from short sighted, knee jerk 'fans/supporters' of our beloved Reds.
I would urge you to grow a pair and do what someone else suggested and that is, make yourselves known at Anfield on Saturday by chanting your anti KK comments instead of ranting and moaning on here 5 games into the season with a team that has been overhauled during the summer with a manager (whose record speaks volumes) who was a popular choice and understands the club and who needs time.
Lets see what you are all writing at the end of the season - that'll be interesting eh.

Befor the transfer window open lots of Rumers about at least 3 French player join us. and its end with 0. why ? is our Transfer Buget been finish just buy 2/3 players ? I thought JH say money is no problem if we find the right players?

Money is a probelm

Commoli has said the "team is complete"

Don't expect big transfers in the january window!

Kenny didnt want french players obviously.

MONEY IS NOT A PROBLEM

One thing I would seriously point out is the French players don't do well at Liverpool. I can't think of one which worked out well, unless you think Cisse was a huge sucess? Arsenal have had huge success with French players and man united also. In principle the french league had been a good place to recruit players because most of the clubs are small time and don't do anything in champions league. No money I suppose, but Paris St Germain are going to challenge this problem in the near future. One the other side, which I don't understand but it is probably because of great acadamies - France does produce great football players - Zedane, Henry, Benzima, Cantana etc etc etc. But almost all of these player have played outside France.

Maybe some French fans on this site can explain this too us?

MONEY IS NOT A PROBLEM FFS !!!!

Who told you that rubbish? Commoli also did not say that the team is finished forever. He said we would look at our performance and take it from there. If we feel we are lacking, we will sign. I mean, how hard is it for you to understand that?

Since when did all of you become a bunch of desperate rumour mongering housewives??

I need to go and hang myself. We have had 1 bad performance and all is lost. Because of this one bad performance I now believe, after all the years of experience and trophies won, that the king has lost all sense of reality. Comolli, who helped us get Suarez pretty cheap, has bought a load of garbage, even though I was singing their praises after previous performances. FSG who have spent a fair bit of money, have not put any money into the club at all and have left me completely clueless in which direction they are taking the club.
Whoa is me, the end is nigh. FACT

An interesting programme on Talksport last night. Former Liverpool player Stan Collymore and there commentator Sam Matterface had compiled a table of the greatest English Footbal clubs based on what they have won since Association football began in the late 1880s. Liverpool were first, just ahead of Man Utd and Arsenal third. But arch Liverpool hater and fellow presenter Mark Saggers did not agree and wanted Chelsea who were seventh higher up the table. Collymore had Forest(14th) above Leeds(15th) because of their two European Cup wins and Aston Villa in 4th ahead of Spurs and Everton on the account of therir European Cup win. This was not compiled in anyway relating to global fan base, but when Collymore pointed out that Liverpool's fanbase is as much as ManUtds, Saggers would not have it. Clearly Saggers believes football started in 1992.

Liverpool were rated first because of the number of trophies we have won since we were formed in 1892.
It also puts to bed the myth that we were a nothing club before Shankly arrived.
Can I also say to those who say we haven't been successful for 20 years, we have won plenty of cups, which is why we stay above Utd.

I agree about Forest, and about Villa. The European Cup is the greatest club competition on the planet, and to win it twice you have got to be special. To win it 5 times....well....

Aintree Dave, this isn't having a go mate so calm down before you read on. Just you never put who you thought was the best centre half. I would have to agree with you there i would of said vidic but on reflection i think you're right mate,oh and people on here are calling supporters sheep for supporting our team and manager i think they need to look up the meaning of support in the dictionary, and before you shepherds say it,it's not blind faith it's called giving people a fair crack of the whip, looks like like we'll have to dig a proverbial bunker on this and wait for us to start winning again then all is for given and they will say they knew this player and kenny were brilliant all the time,ps your post's are spot on most of the time lad you and blair know more about football oh and eds than

So sorry that I have a mind of my own and actually know something about the game. You dicks that go down the "In Kenny we trust Bollox" need to wake up.
Stop and think about things for a minute before you type, perhaps even have a thought of your own?
How any of you can say that any of the mistakes I pointed out have not got an element of truth in them I don't know.
Did Skrtel play well.? Has Carroll done anything at any stage to show he fits our pass and move game.? Has Carra got more experience at RB than Skrtel.?

Not difficult questions to answer fellas. And to insult a true red of over 40 years with a unsigned Manc comment just shows you know knothing.

All of you are Sheep that fall in line, braindead. bet you were all Lucas haters too.

Matt b

********************

Matt b,

I completely agree with you and admire your honesty and courage to post your free-thinking views; knowing you will be bashed as a Manc by "real" fans and sheeple.

Fair dues.

It is completely confusing and ironic to me that it is us who criticize the squad, performances and manager (God forbid don't critize Kenny); that seem to be more passionate about the club!!

Why aren't they telling Mark Lawrenson to F*ck off MOTD, and "Go support Citeh, if you can't support the team"?

There is a HUGE difference between criticism and support/passion, yet they are intertwined! Maybe the "real" fans should learn what PASSION is. What do you reckon Matt?

Who supports the club less? A "fan" who doesn't question the results, performances, players and management (Which indicates they are happy with mediocrity and lack of ambition); Or a passionate critic who wants the best for the club and expects everyone to be ambitious and perform well from the top levels of the club down? (No Kenny isn't exempt).

I haven't been impressed with Kennys managing abilities at all since pre season (INCLUDING freindlies). And I honestly think he does not exercise the tactical or technical side of football. And that's my only worry with him, that and how long he's been out/much football's changed. However I think he's a great man manager, and can lead us to a top 4 finish...But he really needs to brush up on (especially) his tactical side. It's evident he and our team lack it.

PS:

Passionate critic = Agree
Mediocre "fan" basher = Disagree

That's it really, hope results and performances improve from now until 1st Nov. That would be great and give all of us the lift we need. Oh and GERRARDDDD, YOU BEAUTY!!

Chipkin9 (Eire) (Forgot to sign off - Eds post this instead of the other please?) thx {Ed001's Note - so you think whining after one bad performance means you are more passionate? I think it just shows you lack the maturity to step back and see the bigger picture and the intelligence to understand the game.}

No ED we need a world class manager like all the top clubs! All those clubs that win every game every season and win every trophy! Kenny has had enuf time hes been back months, I thought the writing shudda been on the wall when he failed to win the PREM, THE FA CUP AND THE EUROPA LEAGUE. The fans should drop their support stop singing everytime the team makes a mistake. We cannot tolerate anything.

Roy Race {Ed001's Note - sorry, I stand corrected. By the way I used to love your comic strip but you were never as good a player as Kenny.....}

Have to agree with ed on this one there is nothing good about creating doubt in our club.just remember roy hogson last season are you telling me that kenny doesnt know more about the the game than the likes of Roy who has been a manager in the premier league for 4years or so.i just used Roy as a example just to refresh peoples minds what state we were in this time last year.
we don't need critic's within the club we have enough outside the club.
we as fans should back the club kenny and the players and show them why we are the best fans in the world.
king henry YNWA

So if i'm reading this right Chipkin9 and Matt b, you 2 think you actually know more about football our players etc, more than Kenny?

Apology's if i've read your posts wrong, but it does sound as if you think you could do a better job than Kenny?

Blair Mayne YNWA

Can you please explain to me how football has changed since Kenny has been out of the game? I am not aware of any major changes to the rules that make everything that KK knows obsolete?

It is interesting that you say a man who as manager of Liverpool won 3 championships in 5-years including our first ever double needs to brush up on his tactical side! Even if it was true that KK is not tactically aware enough - what do you think his back-room staff do all day? I am sure there is discussions between KK, Steve Clarke and Kevin Keen to determine the best possible tactics, formations and line-up before a game.

I think KK would be the first to admit the performance against Spurs was nowhere near the level it should be, and that some mistakes were made regarding the line-up, but he doesn't need anyone to tell him that. No-one on this site will be hurting more about that result than KK! He has more passion and respect for the football club than people like you will ever know or understand, if you believe that 'passion' is about criticising the players and staff after one bad performance.

JRG

Thanks Chipking for your reasoned response.
What a shocker we got some responses that say KK has never and will never make a mistake purely because he`s KK.! It`s such a ridiculas argument.
None of us want KK to fail, indeed as was pointed out he has done a fantastic job until now, what I don`t agree with though is not seeing/disgussing any faults along the way. This serves no purpose at all apart from encourage the same as Sunday.
Blair I`m not saying I know more than KK of course I don`t, but I`m not blind and I do know enough to point out simple things that were wrong, it`s not an attack on anyone just a point to discuss.
Matt b {Ed001's Note - no, you are accusing anyone who disagrees with your views of being sheep and not being able to think for themselves. You are worse than those you are whining about, because you clearly know better and can see others doing it and then you go and do it right back to them. That makes you a hypocrite as well as judgemental.}

The major change is that refs are obliged to give decisions in all games that favour Man Utd. If this one change was reversed then KK's job would be much easier.

I see blair is up to his usual old tricks

I am just saying why can't we criticize KK and the players without being branded "unsupportive"?

How is being a critic being "unsupportive"?

It shows that a fan is passionate, and therefore obviously supportive.

What is this nonsense about "whinging about one bad game makes you passionate then?"

Who said that?

My post has been largely misconstrued as an unsupportive rant (well it was a rant). It was a rant about team support, and what is worse a fan criticizing poor performances, or a fan insulting other fans.

Alright, and a little bit of KK bashing, but in a positive manner.

What's this about "looking at the bigger picture" ed001? Because you haven't looked at it in my OP.

King Henry I agree with your post about Roy.

Blair please highlight where I bragged about being a fabulous manager and could do better than Kenny.

Chipkin9 (Eire)

JRG...I won't go into depth about how I think the game has changed, so i'll keep it simple by saying that the quality of managers has improved greatly in the PL and so has the style over the past decade.

"Smaller" sides don't have the "respect" that they used, and aren't afraid to attack and put pressure on you. These make it a bit more difficult, no? And i'd imagine kenny would need a little time to adapt to such changes. And the tactics would have "evolved" too.

Chipkin9 (Eire)

All we have been hearing since sunday is faults and hes not good enough donkey this
hoofer that, ive noticed there is posters on here trying to lift the spirits of fellow fans like Blair and the eds im just really tired of all the negativity we had one bad game,we need to pull together and get on with it.
king henry
king henry

Chipkin9...I give you credit that you sign or posts unlike most of the moaners and groaners on here.

I still fail to see how the game has significantly changed since Kenny was last in management. The only thing that has changed is the money in the game and the players egos. Like I said he has a modern back-room staff who can help with the tactical side.
Also by saying that managers have improved do you think that Shankly, Paisley, Clough or Busby would not be good managers if they were in the modern game?

JRG

Team selection is the result of the training and fitness of the players prior to the day of the match, it is dictated by the players performance on the training ground a day or so before matches, also there are many secrets and players conditions which only the manager and staff will know about, some times a player do so well in training and get selected, but does not preform on match day, there are many other reasons to why a team is selected, also when one player is not preforming in the first 15 or 20 minutes does not apply that he is rubbish, if we can see that one player is not doing the job, for sure the manager and staff can see that as well, but they know what it means to the players confident if he is withdrawn after 20 minutes, what is important is we can say what we like about the team performance and admit it if we were bad, but to talk about them as losers and tha manager as if he was born yesterday, is not a a gentlemanly way or the Liverpool way, we must respect and trust our manager, love and support our players as if they were our best mates, we will succeed and we will be up there where we belong, together as a family, players, supporters and the one and only Dr KK.

So it was fine for everyone to criticise Woy? But not Kenny?

Not a lot were behind the team and manager then. Did we all give Konchesky our undivided support?

Roy was given plenty of time.
king henry

Kenny has his faults , remember when we were unbeaten and we went away to arsenal and he selected a strange team full of full backs but we learned a lesson and that will happen again .we are not as good as other teams at present but we have to play them and get the 3 points against these teams , this means every one has to be up for it ( DID ANY ONE THINK SPURS PLAYED AGAINST US THE WAY WE PLAY AGAINST THE OAPS AND FERGIES TEAM) .i do not think several players should be playing for us because in my opinion they are not good enough but its my opinion its kennys that counts, we can opine on here but not at the match , ynwa . red mick tag

You cannot win this argument on here. This site is split between people who ask legitimate questions of management, and people who would follow Kenny into a fire. I just hope Kenny is the saviour they all seek. It is always dangerous having a cult hero take over a team long term. What will happen if he doesn't deliver and owners are forced to look elsewhere?

For all those who think King Kenny is not human & he is a perfect sort of creature who is immune to make mistakes better open your eyes & see what is happening!
Of course i know nothing in Football when compared to a person like Kenny Dalglish but seeing Liverpool beaten & still praising King is not my way. Even Kenny himself believed he indeed had done something wrong against Spurs. Like wise he has done mistakes in transfer market & some of them very huge! All these Kenny loving non moaning, cool headed people will understand what i meant when the season ends, Liverpool in 5th. 6th or even 7th. Andy Carrol not even scoring half of what he has scored last season. Henderson left out of squad in last few games. & at the end Suarez & Reina jumping away from the ship.
Hope how many Liverpool supporters ( including ed-001) will be still applauding what Kenny have done!

What a very very silliy post off what must be a scum or blue nose . You obviously know nothing about are football club do you think by posting such crap on our banter page that we will some how try to start some sort of outing of kenny , were much better than that . People I understand are pains seeing us get beat on Sunday let's not be too worried though , look at the positives , we beat Brighton ( do able ) we beat wolves ( do able ) we beat the blue s**te ( do able ) , then that leaves the other lot from up the road , they hate here have done for years probally 1 of not to many they know they get a game know matter what are form his . I know everyone is entitled to there say and good on if yous support the red men , it would nt be the same if we did nt have an opinion , let's at least give the lads , club , manager , owners , everyone at the club a chance till the end of the season , let's not forget we Roy till at least jan , this is kenny , look how much we have come on since jan . What Cracks me up is that, is that Henderson's price has gone up 4 mil again to 20. **** me, i thought Liverpool fans were the know for their support of the players. Now calling for K.K to be sacked. A blip, maybe we thought we were playing that well and Spurs mediocre at best, that the players undersimated them. Dont forget it was 1-0 till we went down to 9 men. Spurs get battered first 2 games play half decent to get a result at Wolves. And we play well in all our games bar, second half against Sunderland until the Spurs game. Talk about fair weather fans. Enough beating about the bush, yes everyone's entitled to their opinion but a freak result with 9 men is not i repeat is not the end of the world. Calling for the Kings head is a joke, not a funny one either. I can see us going on a tear, a kick up the asse that were not good enough yet to just turn up and roll teams no matter what their form or style of play. Against Stoke, we knew we'd be in for a proper battle and prepared for that, matched em and over matched em in every department but the finishing one. Was a bit unlucky in the end but Stoke defended well, and the Europa league will catch up on Spurs mark my words. Re our our attitude at Spurs, just think the players thought we dealt with Stokes physical way of playing. Spurs on form will be a breeze. I was worried the moment we nearly got caught out early doors fannying around at the back and thought what the . Reina, coulda cleared one later on his right foot, put it on his left which he can strike a great ball with but ended up being closed down and clipped it straight to a Spurs player putting them on the front foot. And if it takes 2 of you who posted before to count to 5, the number of headers you say you and your mate counted he won, is that what its come to how sad is that. Count how many passes Henderson passes sideways or backwards next time, but get a few more mates round if it took you 2 to count to 5. Seem even Downing is getting it now. Get a grip. Wolves will know there will be changes, and that as hard as they try, the'll have to expect and will get an all out barrage from first to last min. Think if Coates plays well tomorrow, he keeps his place instead of Skertel moving to centre half. He let his team mates down going in like that when he was on a booking. Jonson6

What you fail to mention is that spurs were giving us a football lesson at 11 a side, and also if you had noticed also is that they play their kids in the europa league! All will be well though I'm sure

If Kenny didnt do well until end November Then he must be replace by some one new. We Respect KK what he have done last half season is a great Job- but Liverpool club is Biger then anyone.

It takes me most of my time to try and work out what the bloody hell you're on about most of the time, but the Coates instead of Skrtel remark I'll agree with.

MUSHROOM

Jonson, your posts have helped to keep me sane this last couple of days. Even when you and Chris are going at it hammer and tongs. Cheers :- D
The Real KB

Jonson6, I think you hit the nail on the head saying that our boys went into the game thinking they could cope easily after Stoke, and that Spurs were basically there for the taking.

But as usual Spurs turned in a great home performance against us and were a completely different challenge than Stoke, and I think it took 20-25 mins for us to start getting our act together and get back into the game.

But of course after Adam went off we couldn't get back in- it was really just about hanging on and seeing if we could nick something back for a point, which became impossible with 9 men.

I agree Skrtel was rash in going in the way he did on a yellow, and he'll probably be dropped and Coates will get a start tomorrow, with Flanagan at RB.

I hope KK doesnt keep Skrtel in at CB to cover Agger, just to prove everyone wrong and/or give him a chance to get his confidence back.

andy carroll came up against probably the best or second best defender in the league when fit (ledley king)he only plays in the big games now or so it seems so he can be forgiven for not doing great against this experienced pro,no body played well except jose, when the team start playing well again andy will fall in line and play well too, remember this is a confidence game and thats all he needs and wont get it with all this hateful bile spewed at him same goes for all new players they've hardly played together they need a season to gel properly it's only fair for gods sake ronaldo and i hate saying this but i need to make a point took two seasons to come good at old toilet then was called one of the best players in the world, and no ime not saying any of our signings will but give them time they deserve that at least and who knows look at lucas for example i think we need to be patient it's not a sprint even city couldn't get where they are now in a season it took them 4 and there still not all the way yet so prospective is in order here lads.
aintree dave

Must say ledley king its probably the best centre half I've seen in a very very long time certainly the.best british centre half bar none, in fact il take the words of thierry henry and zidane! Henry said he was the best defender he had ever played against, and zidane said thank god I only ever had to play against him once

Andy Carroll is strong, good on the ball, has a teriffic left foot, but anyone notice he can't jump to head a ball? I have never seen him jump and power a header into the net usually he has crosses then are aimed straight for his head and all he has to do is use his strength to beat the defender to the ball and head it in to the back to the net. He is also extremely lazy, can't be bothered to defend. My friends who live in Singapore that visit this site should have read an article by Aleksander Duric in the Straits Times today. "Adebayor shows Carroll how it should be done" Essentially he compared Adebayor with Carroll. They both have a similar physique but the key difference being that while Adebayor worked hard to create space for the midfielders, Carroll did absolutely nothing. I quote "Football has changed; there is no more 'fox in the box'. The days of the big guy standing up front waiting for long balls are long gone, but Carroll does not seem to know that." "Even before Liverpool had men sent off, he was already guilty for giving the ball away to easily. Worse, he did not fight to win it back" "Adebayor will show you what it takes to lead a side from the front. And Carroll will demonstrate how with all the talent in the world, if you do not put in effort, you and your team will suffer." I think this article hits the nail on its head. However, one thing it did not mention is that Carroll is only 22. Time is on his side for him to develop into a world class player. Whether he wants to change for the better or not, is up to him.

Keith YNWA

In my opinion, big Andy put in a decent shift defensively against Spurs after we went down to 10 men. To call him lazy after that game is very harsh. We all know he's nowhere near the finished article, especially with the way Kenny is sending the team out to play, but in my opinion the only plus point from Sunday's game was Andy's attitude and effort to win the ball back and contribute. Plus, Adebayor appears to be a bit of a ****, and i'm sure it's no coincidence any team he has played for hasn't won anything. He's a bad influence, and while i think he's a good player, i wouldn't have him wear the red for any money.

Rugby Parker

I seem to recall andy scoring a brillant header against man city last season.

We are further away from winning the prem than we were under houiller and thats a fact. We have no hope of changing that any time soon either with the bunch of crap kenny and comolli has brought to the club. They got rid of bunch of s**te players and bought another one. People need to open there eyes and stop all this defending of comolli and kenny. Sick of hearing all this bull about they needing time to settle in, its b****cks. Did phil jones and ashley young need time to settle in at the scum? No. Why? Because they are good players and for a couple of million more we could have had them, but no we keeping up to form go and waste tens of millions on bad players. Im just so pissed off since sunday lads and cant get my mood to change. Sorry for the rant

Have some faith lad.

That truly is a ridiculous rant, and I don't usually reply to criticise other people's posts, but the part about Jones and Young really stood out. Yes, Jones and Young have started the season really well, but lets not forget Jones wouldn't be playing if it wasn't for injuries, and we signed Coates at a fraction of the price. And after apparently missing out on Ashley YOung, we signed Downing, who, along with Suarez, has been our most creative, attacking threat this season. I'd much rather spend £25m tops on Downing and Coates than almost £40m on Young and Jones.

It wasn't about the money with Jones and Young, they chose United over us...simple!

I have been as unhappy as all the other's about the no-show against Spurs and I have posted about Kenny's poor team selection. But what I do not understand is the number of people calling for the manager's head. Keep calm and judge him on whether or not he learns from his mistakes (Skrtel at right back for example). I am sure Kenny is as angry with himself for getting things wrong as he is about some of the player's performances.
STOP calling for his head as the last thing we need is the type of managerial merry-go-round which has stalled Newcastle's progress for so long.

BTW I still think we have a good shout for top 4 but we will need to add a couple of players in January.

Heartless? The boys were down to 10 men after 27 minutes and held out a rampant spurs until they were reduced further to 9 men. Maybe lacked quality but wouldn't say the performance lacked heart.

Havent posted in a while was interested to see fans reaction to ur last two defeats. If anyone saw lee dixons analysis on motd2 of charlie adam was very good, lucas was having to run 40 yards to cover for his lack of effort he really is an average player not good enough. The problem is he wont improve as a plyer thats where hendo and big andy have time on their side, stop criticising the young lads. It has ben noticeable in the games weve played poorly in under kk this season and last how we didnt press high up the pitch and right from the ko you could see we were in trouble sunday, big improvements needed from certain individuals.
DCG

I agree with you about not pressing high enough up the pitch mate but I think it's only because of a lack of pace in CD i.e Carra. The lad is a legend but I do think it's time to get Coates and Agger a go (if Agger can stay fit). If not, Kelly - if the RB can be filled with Jonno.
I also think Adam will learn something but he's never going to have pace that's for sure
The Goatherder
JFT96

The problem was the amount of space that Adam and Lucas had to cover. This was due to the distance between defence and attack and is a symptom of Carragher and Agger playing a touch deep. Modric, Parker and Defoe dropping deep had a field day with space and time against our 2 midfielders. We should have played 3 in midfield.

Its down to carra being to slow

This will be carras last season as a starting defender. he will help bring in coates and help him settle and then move out the way so coates and agger are the 3 cbs. also the amount of space that was available to spurs was because the forwards werent getting back and helping. suarez had possibly his worst game in the shirt and didnt provide anything for carroll. downing was once again only seen in little 5-10min stints and then not seen for another 10mins. carroll only started getting back after we were down to 10men and at this point it was always going to be hard to get into the game.

I agree with the carra point but everyone knows the tone for the game is set by midfielders and the game more often than not is won and lost in the middle of the park. four times ive seen charlie aadam live and is work rate especially aay from home is very poor. I hope he proves me wrong

I dont have problem with British player. all of them not a Bad buy. Downing still our best player. stil too fast to say about Henderson. but We pay £20m for Henderson why not £10m for Honda? £20m for Downing Why Not Turan in half price? the Rumers that Elia will join us by £14m but he Join juventas for £7m. Did we miss something ?

Agree we need to take risks in the transfer markets, we need players with flair, and that will take someone on one-on-one which we don't have unless you count, sterling and toni silva. and i agree with that person that said that henderson and carroll are raw talents but they not there yet, in two years it will be different.

Morning everyone,
@ Blair Mayne from last night - Blair, the Qataris don't invest, they saturate. Throw a massive pile of cash to buy or build bright shiny things. It's vanity gone mad.
They have been allowed to seriously imbalance football. Was it Asamoah Gyan headed out there to play what is basically Sunday League football for over 200k a week ?
Good for him, but screwed Sunderland and their fans.
Let's be clear about this, they have shifted way upwards what will become the standard wage for a top player, 200k.
Out of our league, Arsenals, Spurs, even U*d I fear will get caught by their debt at some point.
FFP ? City already have received the 400m stadium deal. That's a joke in itself.
The final folly is the world cup to be held there. They'll build a dozen huge air conditioned stadiums, with all the glitzy infrastructure. In 50 years time it'll all be standing covered in sand like an ancient Egyptian pyramid.
And the biggest joke, its the peoples money from a national resource. The equivalent to us spending our north sea oil revenue on vanity.
The PL should be ashamed of themselves.
The Real KB

What kept you Real KB mate? I've been sitting up all night, waiting on your response. I'm off to bed now mate, thanks.

Blair Mayne YNWA

Lol. Im no night owl like you.
Go and have 40 winks in yr coffin, to emerge at dusk and pounce on unsuspecting plump young posters in the darkness. Lol.
The Real KB

City's potential £400m sponsorship deal is not just their stadium deal. It is everything all rolled into one. It's their kit sponsors, stadium sponsor, their training grounds and communal developments sponsors. It's all of their sponsors rolled into one. Also this is only £40m a year over ten years. City will need to raise closer to £100m a year to break even. So they are still some way off at the moment.

Also Spurs are well within the FFP rulings guidelines. As are Arsenal & United. All three of these teams have no problems with the fair play rules. United can "In theory" net spend around £50m each season for the next three seasons and still break even.

Sydney!

Just the Manc i was looking for. Hey Sydney/Spoof/Uncle Malcolm, the tax man is on my case concerning unpaid taxes, any advice mate?

Thanks

Blair Mayne YNWA

Interesting Sydney, ta. Very convenient all-embracing deal by City's owners' own company. Still a joke though. Where do you see wages, the 200k a weeks, going when FFP kicks in ?

If I'm honest, I'm personall disgusted with some of you fans. You are more than entitled to air your feelings if you give a balanced argument and justify your reasons. But to see people saying Jordan Henderson is less than an average player is complete, and utter, bull.
To be polite, I'm going to stop refering to these morons as fans, and call them 'Prosthetics.'
Liverpool have lost 2 in a row, and yes, that certainly sucks hairy go-nads, but in all fairness, doesn't every team? As long as we learn from our mistakes, and up our peformance next week, I'll be happy.
Football teams will win, and they will lose. But true fans will be the ones who stick with their team through the bad times just as much as the good times.
As for slagging players off, do not demand for them to be sold this early on. At the minute, and since Carroll signed, I have not rated him at all, however, I really hope he shuts me up, and proves me wrong. Once the seasons over and done with, if he still hasn't stepped up his game etc, then maybe, and thats a strong maybe, he should be offloaded, but in my opinion we signed him for 5 and a half years, we should at least give him 1 and a half.
Yes I would have loved Aguero, and all these magical names, however, we are in a rebuilding process, and thankfully on the up, so if we show the world we are back to being one of the best clubs in the world (which we are) then these types of players will be begging to join us.
Patience is a virtue, so keep the faith, and stop all the negativety.
I hate losing too, but now more than ever is the time for fans to show their loyalty and appreciation, you win some, you lose some, but now it's time to get back to winning.

Thanks all,

YNWA,
Hooch.

Great post, it was not as if the Stoke performance was bad either, it was only the Spurs one but before we had a chance to getback into it the sending offs prevented that, our perfromances since Kenny took over have been great bar a couple of games is all.

Well said hooch the players need time thats all.

So i guess your not a person who takes constructive criticism lightly? "PROSTHETIC" fans as you call it. post their TRUE feelings because thats how much they CARE. it's not like we want them to fail we want them to prove us wrong, but right now we feel as though some of them has got something to prove from henderson, carroll, carra and coates who can't be faulted because he hasn't been in focus. downing went through it and proved himself quickly same a enrique. lucas got it hard by everyone, and i just want to be fair to them by giving the same level of crit that i always have.

yh we support the team but WE ARE NOT ROBOTS and are allowed to comment on any result if we want to. just because your a YES man/woman and allow your thoughts or feelings to be bottled up wont change us, and then contradicting yourself by saying carroll isn't doing it for you. thats the same thing we are saying the only difference is your saying it as if you don't get angry or worried about a player's performance whilst watching a game and thinking he's not good enough because your in denial and quite frankly hyping yourself up.

we don't bash you for defending anyone we just accept it. so accept that people are different and have different options that they will voice (pro or anti).
another thing we are just as loyal, we are just passionate and connected to LFC in such a way that we feel that we have to share our options with others, as do you.

don't get it wrong, this isn't a I hate you rant.

About Sunday, perhaps we can and should take solace in the fact (last season excepted) (a) rarely do we concede 3+ goals more than once and end up on the losing side on all occasions and (b) all the "big 5/6)" do suffer humiliating thumpings at least once a season.

In recent times and years, Arsenal have been humiliated 8-2, 1-3 West Brom at home, 0-2 Villa at home;
Chelsea were embarassed by Sunderland 0-3, lost to City at home 2-4, were thumped 3-0 by Arsenal away.

United were walloped 1-4 at home by us, battered 3 nil by Fulham, mauled 3-1 by us;
City were thumped 1-3 at home by Arsenal, thrashed 3 nil by us;
Spurs have been mauled 1-5 at home by City, 3 nil by United, walloped 3-1 by Blackpool.

We've been teared 4 nil by Spurs, were humiliated 3 nil by City, were embarassed 3-1 by Newcastle and Blackburn.

It would seem that it's customary for the "big" teams to suffer embarassing, high-score defeats at the very least once a season.
So perhaps Sunday was to be our day to get humiliated.

And United's isn't far off either what with our Anfield rhendezvous with them edging ever closer.
As much as I don't think world beaters of this team, I honestly don't see us shipping in 3 or more goals again and end up on the losing side.

(I think it's fair to say that majority of last season was a write-off and shouldn't therefore count, an utter aberration.)

Imo, that's the only solace I can take from this weekend's results.

We are, by the way, still above Spurs and Arsenal and 3 points behind Chelsea, so not so worst I guess.
If we can gather all 9 points from the next 3 games, as I fully expect, we should be in a not-so-bad position.

For the game against Wolves, and perhaps even beyond, I'd bench Carra, Adam and Carroll.
Depending on the Brighton match, Coates and Skrtel should start at centre back with Flanagan taking the right back slot.
Young Henderson should be given a start in central midfield alongside Lucas with Downing and Kuyt manning the wings.
Suarez and Bellamy may lead the line, interchanging with Downing and Kuyt as is necessary.

I'm no fan of Henderson, but I'd like to see (and judge) the lad given a chance in his preferred position.
Nevertheless, his lack calm and confidence on the ball, drive, creativity and shirking of responsibility have left me less than impressed.

Certainly, the kid has potential to be a great, but at this point he's light years away from fulfilling this potential.
He's not an important player for this team presently.

I believe with time, good advice and other help and support from the seniors and fans, young Henderson will be an important player.
For now, aye, aye, aye! I don't know what unique, substantive attributes he'd bring to the team.

Perhaps, as per my suggestion, try him in the centre and he may just come alive.
After all, Raul M did whenever he was played centrally instead of the wing.

Baie dankie

Ray Burmeister
Ps: ed, what's the present situation regarding the stadium issue? Strong rumours of a new build had picked up some pace a few weeks back. Anything you may have, please. {Ed001's Note - nothing yet mate, still no definite decision, FSG still prefer to stay at Anfield though.}

Exactly mate. These results happen to every team. Always have, always will.

Stop with the slagging off of the players brought in.
Fantasy team wish-lists are not relevant.

Compare the players in with the players out and we have improved the overall quality of the squad.

Have you ever thought that the reason these fantasy football players did not arrive could be down to:-

- Wages/add-on's etc being too high?
- The players themselves not wanting to play for LFC when we are not in the champions league?
- The fee being too high -especially when you have to take into account the overall cost over the term of the contract.

A team is being built and when we get back into the champions league it can be improved with one or two of these extra quality players that everyone seems to want.

Don't forget, we have gone from Torres and Babel to Suarez and Carrol with a Nett outlay of only £1m extra.

Konchesky to Enrique - major improvement
Jovanovic to Downing - major improvement
Torres to Suarez - major improvement (when you factor in how bad Torres had been for the best part of 18 months)
Babel to Carrol - major improvement
Ngog to Bellamy - major improvement
Henderson & Adam in - improvement to the squad as it gives more overall quality and balance
Coates - again an improvement to the squad and in time he will more than likely be 1st choice CB.
Doni - decent back-up should Reina get injured.

Take a chill pill people and relax

Lets compare the current crop from the best players from recent history:

Riise to Enrique - evens

Hypia to Coates - have to wait.

Riera to Downing - so far Riera wins but downing should start assisting/scoring soon so Downing wins this one for me.

Young Torres to Suarez - Old Torres wins so far but Suarez will start assisting/scoring soon so Suarez wins this one for me.

Young Crouch to Carroll - although Andy has potential Crouch wins this one i'm afraid.

Alonso to Adam - 100% Alonso

Mascherano to Henderson - 100% Mascherano.

Young Lucas to new Lucas - 100% new Lucas

Arbeloa to Johnson - Arbeloa gets my vote due to injury free solid consistency and marked Messi out of postion at left back in the Nou Camp. Kelly and Johnson too injury prone.

Young Gerrard to new Gerrard: 100% have to wait and see.

Young Kuyt to new Kuyt: evens

Although we have added a bit more pace with Downing are team is overall slightly weaker than the class from 2007-2009.

In January if we can add a ball retaining complete monster of a dominating centre mid, a fast right back/centreback and a fast rightwing/striker we will be challenging for the title. Right know we are good for 4th spot but we need to get back the eye of the tiger, fight up in teams faces spraying the ball quickly and looking to beat players back asap. We play best when pushed into a corner and written off so hopefully the boys will come good and we can get those special nights back.

In short, we need Alonso back

Did you say babel to carroll major improvement? babel's right foot was sensational, not to mention the speed and all the assists. don't let the media confuse you child. {Ed001's Note - Babel was a lazy get, his right foot was sensationally bad more often than good and he was more likely to give the ball away than create anything. Yes he was quick, but he offered nothing other than pace and lack of ability to keep the ball or provide an end product.}

Non of rafas Top buy going flop. we make Good amount of money From Torres, Alonso, Mescherano. Pepe is £20m keeper with us How much we pay for him? Rafa dont weast money His £7m player sold £30m £25m buy Sold £50m and £7m pepe u know how much man u want to give for him. 1CL win and 1CL final. if Rafa win that Final then sure He will be the greatest in Red. unlucky Rafa one lost cost him hate of few fans. Rafa back or not but he deserv respect

There are lots of kids who born in that time is named Rafael. yes we Respect Rafa

Morning everyone, just a thought, do you guys think it would be a good idea to get rid of DC and get rafa in to look for new players and future prospects, the players he wanted where all really good (except Barry). Silva, mata, sanchez all all better then what we have now.

Rafa would be best utilised as a consultant for tactics in European games.
DC must have a contract with high salary. Don't think FSG would pay him off unless LFC fail to meet their targets. Then more back room staff will be moved on. Any true LFC fan does not even want to contemplate failure so keep the faith, it's early days. YNWA

AKLFC

For me this sounds a very bad idea. Rafa has a very mixed record in the transfer market - his success as a manager at Valencia was with a director of football who identified where the team needed strengthening and chose the players to buy; his success with Liverpool was in the first two years when the team was still mainly Houllier signings.

I don't see any reason to get rid of DC. Everyone has been saying that Spurs ripped us apart and their players were so much better than ours but didn't DC buy most of them when he was at Spurs?

JRG

What about all the bad players he bought... Anyone remember Nunez a swap for the once great Michael Owen... Also Rafa signed all the 'deadwood' people on here gave out about for so long..

Quigz23

Ridiculouse comment. Rafa had a lot of failed signings. DC has done it at many clubs and while he has also had his failings, he has also had immense success.
Rafa is a coach, not a talent scout. DC works well with KK and we should leave it the way it is.

Like ngog, babel, voronin, keane, riera, and so on and so on, rafa lost the plot big time, nice enough fella but no way has he got commolis nouce, Commoli is doing good for liverpools future.

Rafa have a good Knowlege about player in whole world its true. if Rafa's time we have this much money sure Barry, Silva , Mata is our player now.

Why surely? On what are you basing your certainty? It's only your opinion. If Rafa wanted this job, he would have stuck with us through the bad times under G&H. He did not. We don't want him back.

Ngog cost £1m sold for £4m, Babel was an enigma he was furture of holland and great prospect he flopped at anfiled but is playing well in Germany. Voronin was a free, Keane was Rick Parry's buy, Riera was only £8m and has so far outshone what Downing provided for us. The one thing that is clear is that Rafa bought mostly well i.e. Mascherano, Alonso, Garcia, Reina, Torres, Arbeloa, Benayoun, Agger, Aurelio, Sissoko, Crouch, Bellamy, which were mostly bought for bigger money than the rest. And the rest i.e Ngog, Nunez, Kronkamp, were usually sold for a profit hence the net spend argument. If Rafa had been granted to spend over £40m on a couple of world class players of his choice in 2009/2010 he would have probably prevented the decline.

Rafa would have taken the risks of buying aguero, mata and silva if we had the investment of FSG then. it was the problem of generating money to buy players by selling players that caused us to be where we are. we couldn't just strengthen our team we had to sell. but i'm positive if rafa had the money to buy the players he wanted everything would have been better.

please...owen wanted to go...get over it.
ngog is a back up striker(cost 1.5m at 19) who scored 8 goals a season consistanly. i would like to see how many goals carroll will score in a full season then judge how bad ngog really was. babel always played out of position, riera was good and cosistant until he had a small injury run which didn't help him getting back.

Very nice post. Rafa Didnt use £20m £35m for much player his high paid was £25 for Torres. then £18 for Aquilani. rest all is £15 to even £1m. Liverpool FC Thanks Rafa for bring few young player in the team. hope some of them come out a Owen or Gerrard for us.

Is it just me or is there anyone else who cant stand John Aldridge, I cant stand him on the telly or even worse on the radio, i know hes fanatical but come on lad calm down, and he hasnt got a clue about jack, he was the one who wanted lucas sold, I say keep it quiet lad and stop acting like a big kid.YNWA AL 1976

Have to agree with you. I stopped watching LFCTV as some of ex players and fans they have are so negative its just awful to watch. And how wrong was he about Lucas

Totally disagree- Also was the one public figure linked to LFC who openly talked about getting rid of poor players such as Ngog and Degen, even when Rafa was in charge, and long before the other pundits dared to rock the boat.

When he talked of getting rid of Lucas, the lad was not playing well, and hadn't done for a long time.
It took Lucas 3 seasons to find his form- an don't forget that in that time LFC did pay a heavy price for having a player in the middle of the park who made rash challenges in our own half, had a poor touch and very little passing skill on show.
In that time we could have had another player- someone as effective as Masch or Alonso- and who knows how much better our results would have been.

Lucas found his form last season and is now a very valuable player, but make no mistake- LFC paid a price during his long development period in the first team, and when Aldo said he was a poor player, it was pretty much true- he was.

Look I admit he is a die hard red, but can someone please tell him to stay of the radio, he ruins it for all of ous fans who cant get a ticket or who cant afford a ticket with his moaning of wasted chances before the commenator as even had a chance to explain whats happening, One tip John pack it in your the worst pundit ever.
AL

Still not that great imo. Avg at best.

Just wanted to add that I find it more interesting to listen to ex-players with real passion such as Aldo, rather than the more laid back style of David Fairclough on LFC TV- David's very knowledgeable and a great guy, but he always sits on the fence, and never seems to dare to say anything controversial.

I don't blame Aldo getting frustrated in 2009-10. We all were.
He was watching our team run out week after week with players who were just not good enough to enable us to compete at the highest level.
In Rafa's last season we had Ngog leading the line when Torres was injured- this is a player who would never get into the squad of any of our rivals, and he was our first choice striker.
Like the rest of us, Aldo watched the bargain basement players like Kygriakos struggling to get to the standard needed, and the underachievers like Babel.
I think its a massive shame he isn't on LFC TV to be honest- he tells it straight and he shows his feelings when he's frustrated with good reason, and that's what those shows should be all about.

ALan Hansen is far worse IMO. Leave Aldo alone. He has a right to criticize the way he sees it. At least he's on our side.

carroll - out, henderson - out, adam - out. all not good enough and cost lots of money. kk you have lost the plot big time!!

5 games into the season and people are moaning already. Would you rather have hodgson and the previous owners in charge??

He's a manc

So what you want wait Midseason we will no 10 that time and think ok we need change. and then run for Rush transfer and wish to get no 4 finish no 6 and say not bad at all?

Hendo asnt been bad if you actualy watch thwe games except spuds but the whole team suffered that day and Adam what has he done wong except get sent off. Who needs rival fans with a dunce like this... probally only a fan since 2005 numpty...

Henderson was nowhere to been seen in attack or defence.

20 Sep 2011 09:10:10
One of the main problems regarding Sundays result happened before a ball was kicked. There is no way that Skrtel is a right back. I know Johnson and Kelly were injured but where was Flanagan. I know he is young but ask yourself , is Skrtel a better right back than Flanagan? I think we all now the answer. Henderson should of been on the bench with Bellamy and Downing as the wide men. Not saying we would of won but it would of been a more balanced side and would of given us a chance.
EST.1892

Lets get this straight a bad decisions were made before we kicked off, As mentioned Skrtel instead of Flanno, Carroll Playing instead of Bellamy, Kuyt. for example.
Then once the game starts and we are playing badly KK has the chance to change it, Agger off so why not move Skrtel to CB and bring on a RB (was Flanno on the bench?) or even drop Carra to RB. Failure to change the set up again at half time was a bad decision, Skrtel got the Red card he was always going to get up aganst Bale and we`re up s**te creek.
Not just a poor performance on the pitch but worryingly off it too.!

Matt b

Ahhh Matt the manc returns

So now you know better than KK? You're a joke. Back seat driving muppet.

Is this the same Flannagan who was ripped part on these pages after the Sunderland game? It is so easy to be wise after the event.

JRG

So sorry that I have a mind of my own and actually know something about the game. You dicks that go down the "In Kenny we trust Bollox" need to wake up.
Stop and think about things for a minute before you type, perhaps even have a thought of your own?
How any of you can say that any of the mistakes I pointed out have not got an element of truth in them I don`t know.

Matt b

Matt think you got called a Manc due to your arrogence. It's easy to point out mistakes after an event. You do actually have a valid point about playing cara on the right but if we would of brought Flanno on instead of Coates that would of really snookered us when we went down to 9 men. All just hypothetical now.

The real point I want to make is as fans don't we have to be sheep like in some respects? Only 1 team a season can we the league even SAF makes mistakes now and again. Some times we just have to accept things don't pan out. We don't want to be changing managers every 6 months. Spurs are a prime example of my point. There team has came on leaps and bounds since they settled down the management with 'Arry. No one on Sunday pointed out he'd bought keane back for £15m, crouch, pallasios etc etc. It's football no manager gets it 100% right all the time. Truth is with 11 men we coulda won the game with 10 and 9 there was no chance. Let's not forget. No goal came as a direct result of a skertle error until after he left the pitch.

20 Sep 2011 08:50:31
We all know that matching Spurs with 4 in midfield was a huge mistake. Hopefully we learn our lesson for any other big away games, especially with a midfield that was so mobile. Putting Spearing on maybe just to man mark Modric might have worked.

I don't really blame the defenders one bit. If you get no protection then during the course of the game you're going to make mistakes. We lost the match in midfield on Sunday, they are the engine room of a team. Cut the supply & your jobs done.

Carroll put in a really good shift, as did Spearing when he came on. Suarez dissappointed me with his attitude. Adam & Skrtel? Well what can you say? Poor decision making after getting their first yellows. I have my fears for Adam, especially against better opposition. If he is to play against better teams then playing as a 5 in midfield might help. He just doesn't have the mobility to do both defend & attack. He will tho have better days than Sunday. Get back soon Stevie G! Your club needs you.

The Irish Rober

Carroll put in a good shift. Are you having a laugh mate.? He was useless, I sat in a Spurs bar with a mate and we counted the amount of headers he won in the whole match(I had stated how poor he was and did it to either prove or disprove my thoughts) He won less than 5 in the game.!!

20 Sep 2011 08:47:30
Quite agree with the recent post concerning transfer activities at LFC by KK. To pay almost 60m for Carroll, Henderson and Adam is a joke, a waste of money. They are only average players (in Hendersons case not even average). They do not make the team any better than the personnel we had beforehand. Sorry KK you got it wrong big time with these signings.

Adam not cost £20m so dont judge him like Henderson. Adam just cost £8m

20 Sep 2011 08:44:35
Ed.....doyou think LFC will welcome Rafa Back?? I mean..i personally feel that he was an outstanding manager for Liverpool...people criticize him for only one season?? we finished 7th...if that is the case...look at juventus...or any other club...
lets be honest...rafa did all hardwork to make pool the most feared side in europe..beating chelsea, beating utd, beating madrid......
do you think any other manger would ever repeate it??
I consider him as the best man for managing pool..he knows the club, the fans...and the tradition..
his style is brilliant..only one striker...becoz he knew one chance to torres..and he will score..he always wanted 5 midfielders..who wins the ball and supply to torres..gerrard, alonso, and mascherano.....
and let us admit...we were execptional in those times..
atleast we were never hammerd by spurs or any other teams 4-0 home or away.......
KK is good , infact execellent..but he is not the feared man in europe...and thats the differnce..
look at the names, jose, SAF, guardiola, Mancini...managers do matters...
Rafa never got the backing from owners..12 mill and buy the best...with 12 million he could only buy babbel at best..
If 100 mill and new owners..rafa would have bought all the dream players to pool...or torres would have never left..if do..he would have bought another torres..

need all of you guys serious opinions...... {Ed001's Note - I am sorry but we suffered terrible, negative, defensive football under Rafa, he had plenty of backing but spent the money on 15 players when he could have got 2 or 3 top class players instead.}

I personally believe that, given the money, we would have a better team than we have now. It's a little harsh Ed to say he could have signed 3 or 4 top class players instead of the 15 players. He still needed a squad. Yes, he got a lot wrong in the transfer window, but when you cannot go for the expensive top-draw players, the risk goes up the less money you spend in my opinion. Ed?

Ash {Ed001's Note - how is it harsh? There was a squad there, but he failed to work with what he had at all, he wanted a huge turnover of players every single season. If he had brought in less we might have stood a chance of winning the league, instead we spent the start of every season waiting for the players to gel.}

Ed..teme are u kidding me?? negetive football..to win against chelsea...i hope u have watched that game...negative football against madrid?? ,negative against man utd?? u remember we came back and won 7 games under him...one famous against man city?/ u call those games..negative, terrible, defensive..wen we scored more than 100 goals in a season...if u dont like rafa..pls admitt..
tell me ed..rafa bought 15 players...if he would have bought 2-3 players..and they would have got injured...hope we will have to play... lets see what are we gonna do this season?? {Ed001's Note - you really think a couple of games makes it an offensive system? I like Rafa as a man, as a manager he was obsessed with politics and had no idea how to work with what he had.}

I like Rafa and appreciate what he did at the time, but like Ed001 am also annoyed at his transfer policy/ complete stubborness as a person... in hindsight it all started to go wrong with Pako's departure in my opinion.

Analysing Rafa's transfer policy is difficult to comprehend ... we had a huge turnover of players (i read somewhere this was part of Rafa's footballing philosophy), some good buys, terrible buys, and some decisions that left us all scratching our heads. Obviously this can't all be laid at the feet of Rafa, but there is an overwhelming feeling of quality rather than quantity was needed but ignored (apparently his philosophy was to replace players in similar positions to maintain energy... problem was we didn't have another SG/XA/FT so this kind of failed).

All in all it's time to move on and progress, not look back...

I do feel its harsh Ed. He had a net profit after transfer dealings for his last 2/3 seasons which highlights the lack of funds he had. I respect your opinion, but I think that had he been allowed to spend £35 mil on one player, we would have a far better striker than Andy Carroll. I know he signed players that didn't live up to what we had hoped but I feel a lot of sympathy for him when you cannot sign your first, second or probably third choice player in any said position. I seem to remember also that we were top scorers in the league one season with 77 goals so it isn't entirley true that we were completely negative. I think he simply played the best style with the resources and players he had.

Ash

I agree with Ash. I think some LFC fans need to extract their heads from their asses over Rafa, the fact is he managed us to crazy heights considering who the owners were. Obsessed with politics? don't make me laugh, when your owner tells you to buy better exercise equipment to make the players you have better, or better still, constantly talks about 'The Draft' when new players are discussed, you better believe you have to politic to protect your reputation, your job and yes, your club.
I've said it before, history will be kinder to Rafa than the plastics and the plain wrong would have you believe
ferd {Ed001's Note - what is your excuse for the petty politics Rafa played at Valencia then? The man can't help himself, it is the way he is. He is a lovely person but he likes to play power games.}

20 Sep 2011 08:17:33
Referee Mike Jones, who sent off two Liverpool players at Tottenham on Sunday, has not been given a match this weekend, he will be the fourth official at West Brom v Fulham, but the Premier League say it is simple rotation policy and both his dismissals were correct decisions.

I have a feeling that way he was so leniant against parker for kicking lucas off the ball and other spurs players might have caused this.
Just 1 word "karma".

Red indian

Whatever the reason is i hope he got a stern talking to with regard to how a professional referee manages discipline on the field... Just whipping out cards for every foul rather than taking charge and giving the player a talking to doesnt make for a good game!
Mr Jones seemed to be enjoying flourishing the cards in such a dramatic fashion that I wondered if he was expecting score cards to be held up for his performance each time..

Now that the dust has settled on the debacle at spurs I think It's important for people to get some perspective and stop being silly. We lose at spurs and stoke - get over it.it will take time to put us back up with the best, It's not going to be over night. Let's have a look at the league after 10 games and see where we are. Some of you have had a shocker over the last couple of days, it's embarrassing. Get behind your team.

Will I ever see my beloved Liverpool win the PL:(

20 Sep 2011 05:10:46
This is my perspective on our team:

Kenny is building a new team. He has a core of young players who have signed long-term contracts and will form the core of a winning side for years to come.

I was against Kenny's appointment as manager when he took charge in Jan. He was out of football for so long I thought he would struggle to adapt. We lost to mancs and blackpool, but then things begin to fall into place. The self-belief and confidence came back and we went on to finish strongly in 6th place (could be have been worse had we continued with Woy). I was convinced he is the man to take us back to the top

We are only into 5 games in the new season and we are already better from last year. Sure we were poor against spuds, but that team has been together for over 2 years and had a great run in the CL last season. That's why I predicted that spuds away would be tough and a draw at best. If you, for one minute, think that our young team could match them on their home ground, you are seriously deluded.

The dejectors here who think we can challenge for the title this season will be disappointed. The owners themselves know we can't mount a challenge because the mancs are too strong. You only have to look at what Fergie has done, i.e. constantly rebuilding, revamping. I believe this is what Kenny is doing, and you may not agree with me, but I have faith in our young team and... put it this way, if by Christmas we are still in the top 4 or 5, and the team has had time to gel and build a strong understanding, watch us go!

SingRed

P/S Suarez has faith in our team (via his twitter) why don't we show the same as well?

As a fan i have the right to express my view on the team, no player is greater than the team even King Kenny! He is not an Angel & he is prone to mistakes. It's like a dagger to the heart when i see my beloved team being destroyed by another team, it hurts, it made my happy day boring, it makes me waiting desperately for the next game. It also hurts when the club has spent millions of money on signing new players & they starts playing awfully and fails to deliver match after match.

THIS IS NOT MOANING! THIS IS THE PASSION & LOVE FOR LIVERPOOL FOOTBALL CLUB.

I think king Kenny & Commoli said their philosophy in bringing British players was:
1- addressing the home grown quarter
2- can settle well in the team as they already have premier league experience.

We brought Carroll, Adam, Henderson, Downing & Enrique, all from Premier league clubs. Enrique & Adam was pretty cheap wrt to their quality. But downing, Henderson & Carroll is believed to be worth no less than 75M. So far i have to say they are no where near what i expected from them & haven't really settled in well as expected. A player from abroad would also had taken the same time or even quicker to settle in.

* Andy Carroll - 35 million pounds:
Should have waited till the summer to replace him, so far he is useless.
Alternatives to him from abroad: Benzema (35M), Huguain (25M), Cavani (35M), Papiss Cisse (15M), Nilmar (30M), Soldado (15M)+ the rest etc...
All these players are more suited to pass & move football & are playing a lot better than Carroll.

Some say it took Ian Rush months even to score his first goal & become a goal poacher but comparing Rushie & Carroll is a joke! at the time Liverpool were playing wonderful football & were on top of the game, he had more than enough time to settle in, but we r not that Liverpool & Carrol is no Rush, his attitude & off field life is no match to Rush. Yes he is young he has years ahead of him but can we wait for him, i don't think so but the reality is we have to.

* Jordan Henderson - 20 million pounds:
was a complete surprise when i first heard we were buying him. Yes he is young & have quality but sorry he is not what we needed. We had Meirralles, Adam, Lucas, Spearing, Gerrard, Suso, Coady, Shelvy!

We don't need him even in the first place. we needed wingers & Kenny bought a another central midfielder to play in that position.

Alternatives to him from abroad: Affelay (15M), Eriksenn (20M), Hazard (25M), Marvin Martin (12M), Juan Mata (25M), Cannales (10M), Payet (12M), Gervinho (10M), all young players who are better & qualified than Henderson.

*Stewart Dwoning - 20M:
Downing so far is not bad but not quiet up to the expectations we want to see from him wrt to what Ashly Young is doing at UTD. I would have been happy to pay 15M for him but not a Penny more!

Liverpool needed at least two wingers & Kenny brought only one especially with the fact that we have Carroll who needs bucket full of crosses to score goals.

We should have signed someone like Cazorla, Payet, Gervinho, Elia, Adam Johnson or Mata irrespective to the signing of Downing as we were crying for wingers.

So far have to say Kenny is not getting it right in the transfer market, Kenny needs to face the reality this is not the best time to buy over priced & over rated British players! The performance of England, Scotland & Wales internationally shows how poor the players are, this is not the 80,s King Kenny!

THE DAMAGE HAS BEEN DONE! & THERE IS NO GOING BACK SO TIME FOR THE PLAYERS TO SHOW THE FANS THEY CAN MAKE IT HERE AT LFC.
IF KENNY WANTS TO SIGN ANYMORE BETTER SEARCH FOR PLAYERS FROM ABROAD!

It's long way till January but i think we need two or three more players! I think we need to sell Maxi ( he is more of a squad player but we need some one who can start matches & who can send some one on starting eleven to the bench to take Maxi 's place), Agger & Aurelio (the latter too injury prone though both have enough quality when fit). Sign someone like Vertongen (15-18M), Albiol (12-15M) & even Gary Cahill (12-15M).

It's also a must that we sign a winger in January not another Center Midfielder! Di Maria (15-18M), Ryad Boodabooz(12-15M) or Eden Hazard (20-25M). {Ed001's Note - cloud cuckoo land. Complete and utter fantasy. You want to spend 12-15m on a struggling centre back with 6 months left on his contract but think Di Maria is only going to cost about the same! This is why you are commenting while Dalglish is making the actual decisions.}

Thank you Ed001 for rubbishing this bloke's ridiculous thoughts.

Think that he is signing other Uruguayans in order to persuade Luis Suarez to stay.
but if we don't qualify for the Champions league, he'll be off. We were awful yesterday, with the exception of the said Luis Suarez, we lacked any sort of cutting edge, the deficiencies of the likes of Adam, Carroll, and Henderson are already well known. We didn't have any invention in our midfield, it was truly em-brassing to watch, and the problem is, that I can't see it getting much

I agree. I think to be considered a Liverpool fan on this site means accepting anything and everything Kenny does as magic. We'll see how long these 'fans' stick to that.

Dont live in emotion guys he is dam right. yes few price may over price but the poster have Logic. Elia Join Juventas for £7m when the rumers he join us it was £14m. dont u think we miss the price tag and miss the player too. we pay £20m for Henderson But £10m For Honda or £10m For Turan Both was ready to join us but no signal been made by us? £20m for Downing is ok he did well so far, but why we not go for Nzambia ? he will cost £10m then why we miss it ?

You're listing all these other players as if it's like popping down to tesco and putting what you like in the basket. Players do get a say in where they move to, if they see no Champions League do they really want to sign for a club? I can't be bothered to check them out in detail but I expect most fo them are in a Champions League club or moved to one that was.

Most players priority is money and fame, they will move to club for the most money and they will want o be seen on the biggest stage. They will move to a club where they aren't guaranteed first team football in order to get on the coat-tails of a club most likely to win something anyway rather than fight to get a club into that position.

We had one bad game, the perfomrances otherwise have been good and this is with many new players trying to gel. We can't get most of the luxury players without Champions League football, and we knew we are not in Europe so we bought players who know this league, once they begin to gel, we cna force our way into Europe again which opens up the possibility of many players who otherwise woudln't consider us. Doesn't mean we will go and buy them all as I still only want players who want to play for Liverpool. Those kind of players are hard to come by.

The editor is correct to tear into this inane drivel, and why do people keep claiming that Jordan Henderson cost £20m, when in reality the feed paid for the player was considerably less?

Interesting fact: we have played more away games than mancs: vs gooners, stoke and spuds (all tough away). Mancs have only played away vs WBA and Bolton and gooners, spuds and chavs at home i.e. expected to win. Their next 2 away: stoke and us! Let's see how they measure up then!

Andy carroll haters - watch the game again. He put in a huge shift, would of love to have his gps reading. After the game - I have a great deal of optimism after his game and efforts.

I have faith in the lad. he needs game time, a better attitude and a better work ethic.
i might be being a bit hard on him saying that, but i see a superstar in the making.
the lad just needs to get match fit and put in a huge ammount of effort.

MIKEY

No matter how hard he tries he is not born to play in a pass & move football system! Face the reality no pace, no ball control, no trickery, & an awful passing. He can run around the pitch but it's useless we should find a buyer for him as soon as possible! Andy Carroll is destroying Liverpool Football Club & King Kenny's legacy for the time being. If i were Suarez i would have been really bored & pissed of with Carroll who is a headache to play with. Wonder how Suarez feels about Carroll.

Firstly agree here, Carrol did a huge amount of running if you look back at the game. He was constantly trying to fill gaps down the left hand side of defence.
Secondly Carroll and for that matter Suarez cant operate if your midfield is completely dominated and thats what Modric did. No team, even Barca coudlnt dominate if clear service is not available. Kenny made a mistake playing Skertal out wide. He is a good central defender and plugs gaps well but lining him up with Bale who has pace to burn wasnt a good selection

We need a decent striker, two central defenders and midfielders. Basically, nearly a new squad.

Only three great players are Reina, Gerrard and Suarez. The rest are average (eg Lucas, Adams) to pure garbage (eg Carroll, Henderson).

Aquilani scored yesterday for AC Milan. Oh, and he didn't get a red card. Good thing we chose Adam. {Ed001's Note - you mean good thing he chose to leave?}

We dont want/need aquilani.

MIKEY

Yer, he needs time, he needs space
you don't get it in the PL.

Great response Ed001. Some idiots know nothing about LFC or about footie. If you're a glory hunter, please go an support another team. We would gladly do without muppets like you. Despicable attitude.

Reddie Sixx {Ed001's Note - it is frustrating reading about how we should have kept hold of players who were desperate to leave the club. They simply don't deserve to play for us.}

Like Aquilani would have made that header in the EPL.... He would have ducked for cover with a big CB flying in.

Get over it people.

You're raving about Aquilani in a game they lost 3-1. Big Deal, suppose you are missing Torress since he scored in a 3-1 loss too. They both still lost, both have zero points from the result which is what we got Sunday too, so it makes little difference

I think we should sign Aguero at Christmas. And Torres too. Imagine Aguero/Torres/Suarez up front. Any chance Eds?

Sarcastic Jack

Wake up! Wake up !

Sure they would all get along brilliantly and be big friends, if they earned the same, all played in the centre and could all get to score everygame.

still cant understand why people are calling for big signings.
liverpool cant afford to throw £30-£40 million on a player.
what we are doing is trying to find the superstars of the future and signing them cheap and early.
some of these players could come good quickly (suarez 20m in jan, worth 50m six months later)
some might take longer (henderson 16m this summer, maybe 30m in 2-3years)
lets get behind our future stars and not slag them off. some are still very young.

this might be our team in a few years along with possible price tags, this is why we are now buying early.

=========reina (priceless and captain)=========
kelly(free)=coates(25m)=agger(15m)=enrique(15m)
hendo(30m)=lucas(30m)=suso(25m)=sterling(30m)
=======suarez(50m)===carroll(35m)=====

were not going to win the leauge this year, maybe not next year. i think the owners have a long term plan in mind, maybe 10 years, get a new stadium, get a world beating team in, FFP rules will hurt a lot of top teams but not so much liverpool with our transfer statagy in place.

the futures bright, the futures red.
i see few teams especially in england as well prepared as us for when the FFP rules start to bite.

MIKEY

Stop playing championship manager Mikey./ You are in cloud cookoo land.

angry Red

Carroll £35m in Jan - £8m now?

You are so funny

I dont care about the price. I just have been saying for years we need more pace, skill and creativity in our team. Surely there are players out there who don't cost the earth and could bring this. Downing was a start although a bit overrated.

Only truth in that Dream is Suarez Can be a £50m all other is Dream. Pepe can be £20m too.

Ok guys, so many different answers and methods on here today on how we should of played, but really does one bad game really means the end of the season? Answer NO! As long as the squad and management have learnt from a big mistake then from here we should be able to move on, correct?

I'm sure this time next week all of this will forgotten about and everyone will happy apart from those on here who are not true liverpool supporters!

Kk and fsg have done a great job, or would you rather have h&g I rest my case, it will take time and no from the club us saying anything but this. So let's stop sh!t and support the the team!!!

really disappointing to see liverpool fans turn so sharply, wev had one bad performance so far and theres guys calling for kk's head, thats a joke, and as for andy carroll critics, the guy gave it his all yesterday even when asked to move into midfield,he'l put his shoulder to the wheel unlike many guys iv seen play for liverpool in recent years and things will come good for him and goals will start to flow and im sure everyone will jump on the band wagon again, hope all the true reds get behind the team right now.

Irish Red

I completely agree with you mate carroll ran his ar** off chasing the ball even when we went down to 9 men thanks to spud's 12th man oh i mean the ref. We made mistakes but some people think this rebuild will happen overnight it wont it will take time but the signs are promising every new player take time to gel.
I think alot of the people slagging our players off arent fans anyway theyre just other fans from other teams posing as us and stirring it up.
So all us real fans lets get behind our boys an show tham that NO MATTER WHAT they will never walk alone.
we have 2 games coming up that are winnable and can get our confidence up and our captain is back so lets draw a line under sunday and move on.

Keep the faith. Bellamy and Suarez will lead the line this weekend with Kuyt and Downing on the wings. I see us winning 4 - 0 and restoring confidence. We need Martin Kelly back at RB. That boy has star written all over him. Stevie. G on the bench. Probably only come on for 10 mins, but imagine the noise at Anfield when he does!!

I predict we will be in top 6 by Christmas and then with a half season experience, Stevie firing on all cylinders (and a new CB and right wing for Christmas) we will push on to capture the CL spot we want.

5 games down. Just a pre-season. Season starts now.

I watched the game again today. Not on purpose, but it was playing on the tele while I was running at the gym. I agree with Kenny that it was the open that cost us dearly. Modric's goal was all world, and really we haven't played anyone of Tottenham's speed and passing ability this year so it must have come as a bit of a shock (to players and management). I think the two tactical issues that stood out were Skrtel at RB and Carroll up front. I can see why kenny chose Skrtel, as he looks mean and in theory could intimidate anyone running at him, but clearly his pace is detrimental at RB. Carroll would have done just fine if we had any of the ball, but when playing on the counter we really needed a faster player able to come back and defend. Most people would have chosen Kuyt, and with good reason. i suspect Kenny chose Carroll as it would have come to a surprise to Harry, and in truth, I don't think any of us would have thought Tottenham were going to be flying out of the gates after losses to Man U, Man C, and a so-so performance against Wolves.

One thing is for sure, no matter what any one here says: the game against Wolves is huge, and Kenny is under pressure to deliver. Three losses on the trot ( however inconceivable it may be to lose at home to Wolves...Blackpool did it last year) cannot be acceptable. I don't think kenny would be cut, as we have understanding management. However, a loss (or even tie....) would certainly increase tensions, destroy confidence, and do all the other negatives which inevitably affect play.

I am so glad we are back at Anfield against Wolves. Lets show the team we are behind them. We need Gerrard on the bench, even if he cannot play.

Coop

I also think the game against Wolves is crucial. 2 equal teams facing each other, it should be interesting. Could be a relegation 6 pointer. I'm going for Wolves to edge it 2-1. Didn't they win at Anfield last year?

Hope i'm wrong though, I think you've all bonded with me, recognising I'm bringing a ray of sunshine into your lives.

Sir Alex x

You're deffinitely bringing somthing Alex mate, but not a "ray of sunshine". It's your own brand of banter/bullsh*t which is pretty refreshing to be honest. It's nice to hear what kids who support inferior clubs have to say.

Cheers

Blair Mayne YNWA

I must admit, this was a funny comment. Well done Alex. Nice to know that Mancs fans read Liverpool banter sites.

To be fair, Man U's dominance of the prem has roughly coincided with Ferguson's period as manager.

Players have come and gone, but old Whisky Nose has been the mainstay- the single key factor that's kept them around the top for 20 years, and no-one can take that away from him.

But how long can he continue? One more season? Two, maybe?
And when he goes, they will be left trying to choose a new leader from the Rijkaards, Mourinhos and Ancelottis of this world.

Without Ferguson, their aura will be gone. They will be just another side competing for a top four place, but without the budget of City, Chelsea or LFC.

After Ferguson leaves the slow decline will begin. Utd will never dominate the prem again, as they have for the last two decades. You have to respect him for what he's achieved, but his time- and thus Utd's- are coming to an end.

I look in on this site when i have the time, to read the quality posts and see what people have been saying. And everytime i do so, i have to check my phone to make sure this is really September 2011 and not September 2010. There's soooo much negativity on here, it's like being back in time to the dark days of Hodgson and Hicks & Gillett. It was a bad, bad performance on Sunday but to listen to some people, the end is nigh. Anyone who thought we were title contenders were either kidding themselves or highly optmistic. The reality is and always was we would buy players to get us into the CL and MAYBE make a reasonable effort to finish no lower than 2nd. I know we are LFC and we should be talking about League titles, FA Cups etc, etc..But we have to accept that the PL is harder to win now, more than ever, especially considering the wealth of City and Chelski. I said at the start of the season i would take 3rd and the FA Cup and run if offered, i was slated for it. I wasn't lowering my standards or demeaning our great club, i was just being realistic. After watching all the highlights and some games from the 1st 5 games, i'm pretty confident we will get at least 4th.

I don't think i would've started Skrtel at right back, i would have started Flanno. We all know the kid needs more time but IMO he would have had a better game against Bale than Skrtel. The kid has pace and everytime any club plays a pacey RB against Bale, he seems to struggle. Bale has been playing RW for Spurs in the past few weeks and i knew he would play LW against us because this is a major weakness for us at the momment. Me thinks if Glen or Kelly would have been fit for us, then Bale would have stayed on the left. I said it beore we bought him and i'll say it again, Charlie Adam is not mobile enough to play in the 4-4-2 formation, which was exposed big time against the Spuds. Adam and Lucas as the 2 CM's just dosn't work. The only time i can see Charlie playing at his full potentional is if/when we play 4-3-3, and have Lucas and Stevie in alongside him. When Stevie returns and we play 4-4-2 Charlie will have to get used the bench. Kuyt would have been one of the 1st names on my teamsheet against the Spuds. He would've been better than Hendo to help an out of position defender (Skrtel) against a pacey big eared monkey (Bale). Thought Carroll looked a lot fitter on Sunday, considering the positions he had to play. He was one of the very, very few who looked to give 100% all game. We did not lose because of the ref, we lost because we just wern't good enough on the day. We had a bad day at the office and we have to give some credit to the Spuds. We've played 5 PL games and should have won 4 of them, but we didn't. The reason we didn't is, we didn't take our chances against Sunderland and Stoke, it's that simple (to me anyway).

I've read some people wanting Rafa back and some vicious posts about Kenny. I don't know if these posts are coming from other clubs or opinions from fellow reds. If they are from LFC fans then GET A F*CKING GRIP! The Rafa sh*t is bad enough never mind slagging Kenny off. This is the same Kenny who was part of a team that won us numerous trophies. This is the same Kenny who won us numerous trophies as a manager. This is the same Kenny who was voted our greatest player EVER. This is the same Kenny who was able to get us within touching distance of Europe when he took over, instead of scraping our way out of the threat of relegation. This is the same Kenny who acted with so much dignity and stength during our darkest hour (if you don't know what i'm talking about, hold your f*cking head in shame). I'm f*cking ashamed reading all this bullsh*t about Kenny but most are unsigned, so who knows who posted them. But if you are LFC fans, then i've good reason to be ashamed as you should be.

Relax it's only 5 games, i'm convinced if we beat Wolves the optimism will return.

Blair Mayne YNWA

Ps. How's you Eds? {Ed001's Note - hiya Blair, I was happy until I started editing the posts! Now I am just wondering where I can get some rope from.....}

I've the f*cking tax man on my case Ed, make that rope long enough for the both of us mate.

Blair Mayne YNWA {Ed001's Note - sorry to hear that Blair, I know how much of a pain they can be, even when they have made an error they just refuse to accept it!}

Well said Blair mate.

I've tried to cheer up your supporters, but even I have found it difficult. 2 defeats and 1 draw in the first 5 games is brilliant, considering the players you have. I am sure you will avoid a relegation battle, keep it up!

Sir Alex x

ps i said Carroll would be OUTSTANDING in league 2, not an ordinary average joe! A bigger compliment I couldn't pay the lad.

Things arn't that bad "Sir" Alex mate, we are Liverpool not Arsenal (thank f*ck).

Thanks for the kind words and reading my BS, cheers.

Just for fun who do you think will score the most goals out of the following "big price tag" strikers.

1. Berbatov currently 0
2. Torres currently 1
3. Tevez currently 0
4. Carroll. currently 1

My vote goes to Carroll and still think he will score 20+ goals in all comps by end of season.

D 2308

Berbatov & Tevez don't get game time, so surely Andy will get more than them.

I wud be very surprised if carrol touched the double figure mark for goals. I expect torres to get 15+ goals coz he is class, which carrol isnt.

Eds, is there any chance that skrtel may be sold in january with cahill to possibly replace him? Its been clear for a long time that hes not up to Liverpool standards and the weekend highlighted that further. Thanks. {Ed001's Note - to be fair all the weekend highlighted is that he is not a right back. While I personally think he is too rash and lacks composure, plus he has been suspect in the air since his clash of heads with Carra, it seems he is seen as a good option to have in the squad. I am not sure why anyone is still wanting Cahill, he has been terrible so far this season.}
