Suso and Sahin too lighyweight for'The Derby'. No matter what skill they have. Shelvey MUST start {Ed063's Note - Oh my word. Our two most classy players, yeah lets drop em. I'm please you aren't Brendan}

Maybe not for the derby but the player to drop for shelvey would be a certain Steven gerrard how much I hate to say it.

And i guess you'd have Downing on that wing?

Did you go today Ed? Aint saying they have'nt been good. Today both were missing. In a physical game such as the DERBY you cannoy play them both-be overun {Ed063's Note - I don't live in England so no I didn't go}

Suso played a beautiful long ball to sahin behind the reading line (which was timed to perfection as onside around 5min mark that would have been 1-0) and he played 2 long balls to suarez, 1 suarez passed to sahin and he got put off by the other player and the other 1 suarez got and played a lovely cross to shelvey.

that's three chances instigated by suso.

suso might be slight but i haven't seen him once get bullied of the ball and to me he uses his body to protect the ball really well like sterling does. he has played vs manu, stoke, norwich and reading. and the times he did get unfair treatment he got freekicks.

So with respect Ed your giving a view against someone who goes. B.R subbed the two i mentioned. Aint denying their talent. But were a small, lightweight side. We need more presence. Dominating games with space maybe, but take it from one who goes-play them two and they'll get smashed everywhere v Everton {Ed063's Note - Why just because you go does that mean you are more knowledgeable on the subject? That is the most illogical thing I have ever heard. Firstly Sahin is no way in hell lightweight and secondly Suso is bigger than Silva yet City would never drop him because he is too 'lightweight'}

Whats story behind Shane Long's t shirt saying'We know what you are'. Anyone know?

20 Oct 2012 23:39:31
Bet Carroll would'nt have got the pen decision if in our shirt. Ref's at home untrue

20 Oct 2012 23:31:14
Any chance of the dissolusioned Adeybyour or even Dzeko? Even on loan? Do like Defoe, And Nando doesnt look happy(again) {Ed063's Note - No to either of them}

20 Oct 2012 23:29:26
Apologies for bringing up again! Only do so after comments made by the guy....yes-Torres.Eulogising about his time at LFc and love of the club.Yes he aint player he was,BUT him and Suarez?? With Stevies understanding? Who would take him back? And What do people think he'd cost? {Ed063's Note - Nope. And I'd say 25-30mil to get him back}

Yawn, yawn. Move on.

cozinoz {Ed063's Note - I agree}

20 Oct 2012 23:28:57
What 'loan' options for a striker do we hve,because we really need the extra cover up front.
We played well against Reading, but the finishing was terrible again.
Tough matches coming up, and we are going to really need the extra firepower.

20 Oct 2012 23:22:55
Tevez dived, Ballotelli shoud've been sent off-will we see a witch hunt against them two ala suarez?

Give it a rest

Why give it a rest? did you go today? most on here dont! Anti Suarez decisions from officials are costing us. Lads getting belted.Will you say give it a rest if costs us dearly? Its unfair and dishonest.

Media dont let up, so were just suppossed to accept it?-clown

gary hooper

any word eds on any of these three? {Ed002's Note - Try the search function.}

20 Oct 2012 23:14:40
Ed, not a rumour, just a question. What exactly is wrong with Suarez's hand? Judging from it's position and composition, the lightweight cast would hint at a small fracture or some ligament/tendon damage as opposed to an outright break.

Just curious, really. If he falls on that badly it could spell trouble.

His wife is well fit should have to do that!

Brilliant response there ed002.

Heya Eds, I am wondering can you answer the Goalkeeper question. Doni has seemed to be cast aside in the team. He has not been in any team sheets this year. I know Brad Jones has seemed to really improved and seem to be the preferred number 2 now, but today Gulasci was called up as sub keeper. Can you shed any light on this? Do you think he is better than Jones, or do you think he will be moved on in January or next summer? Does Rodgers rate him as a keeper at all? {Ed002's Note - It is clear that PR is first choice, BJ second. Gulasci is coming up through the ranks. I don't see any issues with any of them.}

Isn't Doni in Brazil for personal reasons?

20 Oct 2012 23:05:31
i think the need for a striker is a top priority come january , but until then we could get more goals if we get more players in the box , a very good goal from sterling , but it was from the edge of the box , we dont have enough tap in chances because the passes to goal are not quick enough , the posession play is good but we need to play more direct and get more players into the box , then we would have more chances to score ,

Pepe must come back for the derby.
Suso should drop to the bench shelvey to come in stevie to play on the left.
thats what i think should happen for the everton game.
Remember we have 3 tough games ahead.
Everton away... We won.last season.
Toon at home. We won last season
Chelsea away. We won last season.
9point required lads. No problem lads.

Great to play ok and win
Sure beats playing well and losing .
Br is getting other rite.
Thursday nite Will show purpose intent again a strong team Brian Will play yesil or Morgan. Which ever plays it Will make our season.
In br i trust.

I can really Shelvey being a top top player

20 Oct 2012 21:50:26
Like I've been saying about jones and reina...
I'm personally a goalie, at my club the 2nd choice would only play if number 1 was injured. Jones took his chance, kept a clean sheet, should start next game?
Benny baller

He will on Thursday

I am a keeper as well and Jones did his job today. Made himself big when needed and made saves comfortably. He was also good in the air and didn't have another moment like the one at West Brom. I say start him again because he has earned it and is one of the most humble guys I've ever seen. Im proud to have him at Liverpool.

Red Rat

I'm not a keeper but I reckon the Pepe we've seen over the last 12 months would'nt have made the block that Jones did and he would have then sulked with his defense for the rest of the match! He seems to be constantly frustrated and unhappy at the moment, a bit of competition might be just what he needs. Ged

20 Oct 2012 21:47:45
Watched game online and had to suffer the commentary of Barry bloody Horne who wants a bluenose commentating on the reds completely at a loss with some of his comments don't think hes been to another ground lately called the crowd a baying crowd trying to influence the officials in their decisions he musnt have been to stoke or Sunderland or Newcastle or west ham could go on but wont.

Anyway good win for the reds just got to put these chances away and things will look better

TC YNWA

My stream had the stupid commentator and the "ironic applause". Come on, what did you learn in english? There's a difference between irony and sarcasm!

20 oct 2012 21:02:47
apart from obvious fact we need finishers(plural imo) at times no one in the box. that aside other occassions when were well overplaying-stepping over dummies etc. just fookin hit it!

20 Oct 2012 20:57:44
iv had so many memorable memories of sitting in the KOP but none not as funny and as entertaining as today when suarez won his first free kick and anfield errupted!!
brilliant.....

We're gonna have a party.....when Suarez gets a pen.

The celebration was louder than the goal. Good to see the crowd in Luis corner

Louder and longer

{Ed027's Note - you know what its time for a change in management, there ive said it, ive seen us not being able to break smaller teams down for years now, we have possesion and do nothing with it, wenger fails to motivate all of his players, he fails to get the best out of some too, ive seen enough, this isnt just this season, this is the past 7 as a whole........ dire, weve lost serious quality, yhh cole nasri rvp, are on more cash, but they dserve more than they were getting at arsenal, i stand by arsenal no matter what, but this is just my opinion
_________________________________________
Not Liverpool related. This was in Arsenal site where Arsenal ed and fans want Wenger out. Those are very,very,very strong words from their ed. If you look our eds on our site they are always positive no matter what. Ed2 mate if eds starts posting those words then what happens to posters mate {Ed002's Note - Clearly a radical.}

Think the arsenal eds theme is revolution, something where in the middle of, i tend to agree with him tho, aresnal need new impetus and maybe a new manager is needed, in the meantime lets take the spare 4th spot they're leaving
huddz red

Ironically, it's Arsenal we're turning into. Pass, pass, pass, pass and no end product.

Ozone

We have no end product cos we have only one recognised striker at the moment, hopefully in jan we can get a poacher, someone who's always in and around the six yard area as in my opinion that's what we need.
Huddz red

I think if RVP was still at arsenal with the addition of Cazorla wilshere and podolski they could have won the league. {Ed063's Note - I think the arsenal ed needs to chillax}

BUTTT we know to how to use the youth to get to a cup final then play seniors to win it.!!

I think Wenger needs to spend some money. If it was liverpool I would be furious that we lose all out best players and then reinvest in 16year olds. If Wenger spents some money his teams would be unbeatable. He probably has enough in the bank to buy Ronaldo if he wanted.
Andrew

Hi guys/gals/eds,Its great to have a win but Im amazed at the missed chances suarez 3 & shelvey 1, just not good enough a this level we certainly need someone who knows where the onion bag is.(godin)

20 Oct 2012 20:44:54
are we the only club that buy players, and sell them at a loss. if you look over the last few years, how much we have lost on players bought and then sold. the value of the club is its stock, but we have become a laughing stock.

Im pretty sure that the 25 million we made on torres wasnt a loss?

Really? Made quite a profit on a certain Spaniard. And it depends on how you look at finance, getting bad players who sit on the bench off the books is profit to me.

Nevada

Well 50 mil for a past it Torres, and 30 for xabi wasn't bad but agree we have lost some serious money Aqua being the most frustrating for me

Yes i agree, but that will be wiped out when carrol is sold.

We shouldn't have bought such rubbish players then, alonso, Torres and mascherano brought in some ££ because other clubs actually wanted them.. arbeloa is really IMO the only player we could have made some more on

Or the £20 million we made on Alonso.

We could make money on Skrtel, Agger, Reina (despite his current form), Suarez, Lucas etc but do we really want to sell all of our top players?

I know we'll take big hits on Carroll and Downing but you can't blame Rodgers for that. Mistakes have been made, but we're trying to build for the future.

Papa G

Well said Papa.

20 Oct 2012 20:44:14
Anyone else think Suso is wasted on the wing?
I am not getting on the lads back coz I think he is a great talent but I feel he will lose confidence the more he gets played out of position then gets subbed through the second half.
I know we have an abundance of talent in the central midfield position such as Sahin, Gerrard, Allen, Shelvey, Henderson, (Lucas when he is fit) so its hard to fit him in his preffered position, and I would rather him play than be left on the bench but he seemed quite ineffective today.
Also, disappointed Rodgers didn't have a reserve striker on the bench. Surely now is the time to blood Morgan, Ngoo or Yesil coz if Suarez gets injured (which he nearly did today) we are in serious trouble.

Jay

Hi jay ive got news for you we are in trouble now.

5 points off 4th place and 3 points behind Arsenal! Its getting better keep the faith! Ged

reina have to get a rest.jones played very well today.serious in january we need a leftback n a strike.johnson back to rightback.not happy with wisdom but he will improve(for the future)

Not happy with Wisdom?! The lad has done everything right, and he's out of position too.

Red Raw

Im happy with him but he didn't have a good game against reading

20 Oct 2012 20:06:42
Aaron Lennon on Rodgers radar.

That's why we got sterling!

And assaidi

20 Oct 2012 20:04:50
Good result , average performance.
I have to say I that some people are never happy . Moan about looking good without a result ,moan about getting a result without looking good.

I think that you can only play with the cards that have been dealt to you & Brendan Rodgers had a bum deal from Ian Ayres inability to sign a striker.

I think that despite it all we will be looking a lot better come January and as long as we get a striker we should start to see the lads rise up the table.

Keep the faith

20 Oct 2012 19:40:44
Well done lads well done Raheem, Hopefully go on a good run from now starting with the derby we usually step up in this game and Suarez has a good record against them.lets kick on

20 Oct 2012 19:28:20
With spuds and arsenal losing 4th place can be a realistic target. 7 points out of last 9 with only 1 goal conceeded. Finally finding our feet and a settled team.

Are you drunk

Have you banged your head? 6th would be an incredible achievement.

AJH

Think its early to be talking about 4th place just because 1 weekend of fixtures went our way, see how we feel in a few weeks time with our next run of fixtures being against Everton, Newcastle and Chelsea.
Think we might live to regret that draw with Stoke after the following run of games.

Jay

You can't live to regret anything mate. You just have to improve as the season goes on.

20 Oct 2012 19:04:58
i missed the match today. its great to see sterling score plus how did suso do today? I heard Jones had great game plus who else played well?

Thought Suso was a bit quiet today, I don't like him on the wing anyway, seems more a central attacking mid to me but we have so many options in that position its hard to fit him in.
Still think he's great though and will only improve as he gains more experience playing on the wing.

Jay

Well reading a few posts you would know Jones had good game. Along with Suarez and sterling motm . Suso good first half dropped off second half... reading really
pressed second half but held out and secured a vital win

All of the youngsters played well.....but a special mention for Andre Wisdom who is growing into the part (even though he's a CB by trade).
Same script, though, for all of our home games........creating but not scoring our chances and dodgy refereeing.
A welcome win but could easily have gone the other way.
Good performance from the Kop with the longest "ironic cheer" in history when Suarez was awarded a free-kick (a 5 minute standing ovation for the ref)
ANFIELDPETE

We should continue with the ironic cheers everytime we get a decision doent matter the ref or the opposition let the world know what we all feel abourt the treatment we get from the ref and the FA

Glad today was like it was, boring game yet 2 great positives, 3points and a clean sheet! I think its what we needed after so many games we should win and have to say at the end we deserved more. Chuffed for Sterling grabbing a great goal, nice finish! plain to see today why we need a real finisher but at least we get the chances , 1 decent purchase and i think we will get plenty of goals. Still think we`re a fair way from the BR 4-3-3 Plan but these kind of wins will do while we wait for his masterplan to blossom.

More than one decent player needed

Just as one superstars power seems to wane a new hero emerges from his wake.

Dalglish-Rush-fowler-Owen-gerrard-Sterling?

MIKEY

Owen does not belong in that group and neither does Sterling he has a lot more to do before he can waft in that exalted company

Hense the question Mark after sterlings name mate, please keep up. Owen was a bit of a superstar and gerrard kind of took over that status when he left.
There's always some person who comes on and tries to bring everyone down isn't there.

MIKEY

It really pisses me off when people slag Owen off. He won so many games for us and people have such short memories. With out his goals no treble, no champs league qualification so no Euro cup!

Without Smicer, no Euro Cup.......but is he a legend?

20 Oct 2012 17:59:23
stats say 23 shots 13 on target people will say only stat that counts is the finishing stat the 1 nil win,but i find this alarming,no striker on bench yesil scoring every game for german u19's, morgan scoring for u21 and pacheco,yet dont even get a place on the bench,when its the most obvious thing in world football that where toothless infront of goal,and we have no strikers. surely 1 of these lads deserves a chance even half hour against likes of reading where we are going to boss the game and get these chances,and who knows 1 of them could just do well and keep us in touching distance till jan when we can get a striker..delighted with the 3 points just wish we where scoring as many as are play deserves.ray

Yeah but how many youngsters can you realistically play? The front 3 is sterling, suso and Suarez so who do you drop?

MIKEY

If it was that simple, it would happen. I'm sure Brendan isn't blind to any facts, there is always more to it than that...

Myk

20 Oct 2012 19:06:12
Mate Rodgers wants to play Suarez in centre doesn't want to play him left or right in our front three and has got his on reasons so that rules out Yesil or morgan. That's why morgan has been playing right hand side for our under 21 to improve his movements same with Yesil if you don't play him centre then his wasted and if you play him left or right he will get exposed badly and won't do well as sterling or suso in that position

20 Oct 2012 19:20:28
Very,very happy today even ed2 must be happy coz he won't need to edit lots of depressive posts at the sametime his chelsea are on fire anyways just hope whatever budget we have for january we should use it for striker I mean all our budget we should use to buy atleast a class striker who will solve our goal problems for few years rather then buying 2 or 3 players. Ed2 mate I didn't expect Di matteo to do that well but his on fire you must be happy {Ed002's Note - My understanding is that the Chelsea coaching staff are very pleased that the new players have slotted right in. And no depressing Liverpool posts.}

20 Oct 2012 17:36:50
Brad Jones had a great game, nice to see us grind out a win, suso brilliant in first half but faded abit, shelvey needs to start i feel

20 Oct 2012 17:15:55
Keep Jones in goal and let Reina work for his position. Jones played really well.

Get Enrique back on the left and Johnson on the right and we should start racking up the clean sheets.

Suso went missing today and Sahin did not look confident at times.

Gerrard was disciplined, running the channels and stopping Readings play at crucial times.

Shelvey looked good, coming back in and creating chances.

Well done to Sterling, you deserved it.

Well done to Suarez for keeping out of the headlines for a week. Have a well earned break from it all mate.

MOTM - Jones.

We still need a number 9! I'll be happy with just that 1 piece of business come January. A striker.

I cant wait for next week.

Lee

Wisdom done nothing wrong to loose his place though, he played well

And Allen showed today with a couple of runs forward and a beautiful 40 yards pass to Sterling why he is a bargain at 15million

I think your are wrong. I wouldn't have Enrique in the side. Wisdom deserves his place in the side and Johnson plays well at left back. Enrique is nothing more than a squad player. Enrique makes far too many mistakes. Two clean sheets in the last two games.

Mighty reds

Mighty reds, you could also say the same about johnson. Very inconsistent but when he brings it hes one of the best on the pitch...just like enrique. Im sure he'll play against Anzi on thursday.

I actually think that GJ is so much better on the left.
Wisdom does not deserve to be dropped in my opinion.
I though JE was awesome when he came on sitting in front of GJ. He must have created 4 chances in the limited time he was on the field.
I have to say that Suso is going to be absolutely immense. He has so much intelligence, composure and skill already. It's frightening to think what sort of player he will be like in 3-5 years and also how much he will be worth. He is CLASS!!

Suso and sahin poor today lad did you go??

20 Oct 2012 17:12:31
All we need is a bloody finisher, if the chances Suarez had would have fallen to any other of the top forwards in the league we would have won by alot more goals! BR just get a genuine out and out striker in Jan please?

Already on it mate

Brendan

Hehe! Need a striker you say! (Cue Evil Laugh)

20 Oct 2012 17:01:55
OMG! What a relief! But absolutely elated with the win - we really made hard work of the game and looked nervous at times but full marks to Jones and the entire backline from Wisdom to Johnson who were outstanding. My MOTM would have been Suarez, but Sterling was just that bit special with that fantastic goal. Great performance all round! First home win! Hurrah!

Singred

G.J had great game as did Wisdom

20 Oct 2012 16:59:29
Not the best performance i've ever seen, reminded me a bit of last season's headless-chicken-ness...great to get 3 points though, and our firs home win, and also very pleased for Sterling scoring his first goal in the EPL.

I's great to see us win when we aren't playing well - considering we struggle to win when are dominating games, Reading really stepped up in the second half and gave us a good run. If we are to make an attempt to win the EPL at some point, like City, chelsea and Utd we need to be able to steal a win even if we don't deserve it sometimes. All in all, VERY happy with the points

Home win?

Myk

20 Oct 2012 19:28:03
Yes...home win

20 Oct 2012 16:58:49
The only difference between us and the top teams is that they put away any good chances while we look like we dont want to score them. That was so nerve wracking at the end i couldnt watch when they got corners. And it didnt have to be like that if we had just scored one more. Suarez should take lessons from sterling on finishing!

Houmsred

20 Oct 2012 16:58:19
Of course Suarez and Sterling both played super good, for me MOTM would go to Brad Jones, he did a terrific job and right now in a better form than Pepe. I hope BR picks him for our next PL game too!

YNWA!
HK

Maybe for the anzhi game. We need pepe at his best in the derby next sunday.

20 Oct 2012 16:57:22
Well done Brad on the clean sheet and of course Raheem on his first (of many) goals for us.

if Suarez was at a better team he would never be a st he is a world class cam ,winger simple as his finishing is so bad love the player tho we need 2 st

20 Oct 2012 16:53:23
Omg towards the end of that I was so scared! I only got to watch the second half but we've played better then that and yet that time we get the 3 points! Football is a crazy game but let's start getting a run of wins now!! Come on LFC

20 Oct 2012 16:04:16
First time Poster, i know a lot of people are not keen on gary Hooper, but i am a big fan of his i watch alot of celtic games and think he is a perfect fit for our club at this moment in time. i also think he would be even better with the service of our midfielders and linking with suarez. He is a player with great movment and very clinical in front of goal, and is still young and with a resonable price tag. I really do hope we sign him.

20 Oct 2012 14:48:26
hi eds have to say just after seeing team news there awhile ago and have to say disappointed not to see striker on bench,br is saying he wants to nurture these young lads but surely they shhould get run out against reading and the likes,no disrespect to reading,anyway surely we should have enough to beat them today but thought same for stoke..

20 Oct 2012 14:32:37
Suso to bang one in with that left peg of his today boys! Just you wait and see.....

Just wanted to ask everyone.....Am I the only person who's glad we never got Dempsey? I've never rated him n last season was a one off for him scoring all them goals he got! Over priced and over rated IMO

Ack17

Sigurdson and Gaston Ramirez haven't blown me away either. Maybe Rogers knows more than the rumour-mongers?

20 Oct 2012 14:38:50
To above poster Rodgers was desperate to get Dempesy when he failed everyone was blaming Ian Ayre for not getting him

Yeah that sigursson never impressed me either, not to sure about gaston Ramirez really, but maybe Rodgers thought well we have sterling and suso coming through youth ranks so why do we need to go and spend 12 million on him

Ack17

Personally I'd want him, its great the kids are getting time and they're proving they're good enough. But we are short up front and Dempsey would definitely bring something to the team in any of the front three positions, it would also take some pressure of suarez

20 Oct 2012 14:03:49
Predictions for today's game?
I'm saying 3-1 to the mighty Reds. Shelvey, Suarez and Skrtel to score.
Would love to here others predictions,
Cheers,
YNWA.

5-1

Suarez, johnson, Suso, Agger, Allen.

Once again no strikers on the bench, so we might need a defender to score.

20 Oct 2012 13:53:33
Glad we didn't sign Dempsey, doesn't really add anything to Tottenham! And wouldn't have given anything to us! But now iv just said that hell probably score!

20 Oct 2012 13:41:01
A lot of people don't want Sturridge & tbh I'm not really a big fan of his myself but BR has was a part of CFC's youth program when Mourinho was there & I'm sure he has put in a lot of time with Sturridge. Sturridge proved his ability to score consistently while he was on loan at Bolton. I wouldn't play him as our no.9 though. I would have him playing on the right so he can cut in on his left foot with Assaidi on the left & Suarez in the middle. I don't want to tire the Academy players out. Slodge

Rodgers left Chelsea in 2008 whereas Sturridge joined Chelsea in 2009 mate.

RenegadeRed

Well if thats right renegade maybe with less knowledge of sturridge on rodgers behalf he may well turn out to be a better signing than borini

20 Oct 2012 12:57:40
I'm not being spitefull towards Brad Friedel but hoped he wouldn't get a game today just to p**s him of I no he doesn't want to be back up but I'd have him back to put pressure on Reina who I still think is class.

Why would you want a 40 year old back at the club? Why not get David James back too

Ack17

Bloody hell mate just until we get a suitable back up keeper I'm not saying forever.

20 Oct 2012 12:56:31
Shut up Mark Lawrenson, just SHUT UP... This guy is really starting to PISS ME OFF with his anti Brendan Rodgers stance. >-Z

Stevie. {Ed063's Note - He's a tool, try and ignore him mate}

Te LAWRENSON is a kn8b

I must've missed what he's done this time he is a d*ck. What was it he said lol?

Lawrenson was a hero of mine when I was a kid then he got the media disease "compleatus bellendery" unfortunately it is highly contagious amongst ex-reds notable sufferers jim beglin & Jamie deadkrapp in the latter case it is beyond treatment and appears there is no hope...
Paisley's genius

He's an absolute tosser, who actually thinks he is funny. He must definitely be a Manchester United supporter, which he kept well hidden when he played for us.

What really annoyed me with him was the Suarez penalty incident against Utd. Earlier in the day, Sky slowed it down and blew it up and proved that Suarez touched the ball first and Evans took his ankle afterwards. On Match of the Day, Lawrenson just dismissed it and said 'no penalty' without even properly analyzing it like Sky. If he's not prepared to do that, what is he actually getting paid for?

edds would it be to much hasstle to make a page on the most popular posts i.e most commented on and most agrees?
would make people write interesting posts,maybe?! {Ed002's Note - There are enough pages already so I don't think it would help.}

20 Oct 2012 12:19:26
In my humble opinion I think the most realistic striker target who would best fit into Rodgers style of play would be Loic Remy
Thoughts Eds?

Chris in Tamworth {Ed063's Note - Hmm, Im not too sure he would be worth what Marseille are after. They want nearly 20mil for him. He's good - but not 20 million pounds worth.}

I agree Ed, I thought we would get him for less but I suppose that would depend on possible interest from others Chelsea being one
But would you take him at the right price?

Chris in Tamworth {Ed063's Note - Yeah of course at the right price. People say we only have 2 strikers in Suarez and Borini, but between all the youngsters they make up a 3rd striker. So we only need one, and Remy would be an excellent acquisition for about 10-12million pounds.}

Didn't he almost end up at stoke a couple of seasons ago?

GuvTOB {Ed063's Note - I don't believe so.}

Ed you seriously classing borini as a striker? {Ed063's Note - *Facepalm*}

Redmond has little over 18 months to run on his current contract and was expected to be offered a new deal in September but so far Birmingham have failed to put fresh terms on the table.

This has left the youngster frustrated and he could leave the club as early as January, with Manchester City, Tottenham and Liverpool all sending scouts to watch the teenager.

However, Liverpool are said to hold the most significant interest and have been tracking Redmond for over 12 months, with Rodgers weighing up the merits of a January move

From the Telegraph.

--------------

I hope we can get him as there is no point going to Cty look at Sinclair moved from Swansea and ain't played. Spurs have Lennon & Bale as 1st choice wingers where as we have Sterling as 1st choice.

Nathan REDmond make it so mr Rodgers lets build & mould a team/squad for the next 10 years

20 Oct 2012 09:45:16
i know suarez overacts all the time, he gets picked on by everyone whos not liverpool,the reason i think its cos there jealous weve got him,hes worldclass,i bet the other big clubs wish theyed signed him,
our problem is hes the main man,we need more class to produce a bit of magic on the pitch
i have a bad feeing he will get banned or injured before jan,i dont think our young strikers are ready yet

question 4 edds, is there any likelyhood of signing brad friedel in jan?reina is quality but he needs some quality compotion,his place shoujdnt be automatic.jones is not prem quality
dorset liam {Ed023's Note - I very much doubt it Liam}

Mate the mancs had the same with ronaldo just let it go over your head he is ours he is a red lets just be thankful for that

20 Oct 2012 11:17:29
Guyz mike marsh thinks if needed then Ngoo has got better chance to play in our first xi and Morgan is been played Right hand side in front three for under 21. I think its to improve his movement.so guyz forget about Yesil for sometime

You really are a baffoon yesil I ahead of both which is why yesil didn't play and wasn't involved with the u21's yesterday. Ngoo will not make our first team even if he scores 110 goals this season

20 Oct 2012 11:03:08
Isn't it funny how as soon as people find rumoured interest in a player to be real, they immediately decide he'd be a 'great buy' and 'just the type of player we need.' I'm positive almost all Liverpool fans would have been horrified by the prospect of Gary Hooper just a few weeks ago, but now Ed002 has informed us the interest is genuine, opinion has become eerily positive. Come on guys, don't kid yourselves, Hooper is not the signing of a team aiming for Champions League and beyond. He would be a poor, poor signing. Would much rather just stick to what we have and see if Yesil/Morgan can step into the fold some more.

I have faith in Rodgers as a manager, but he has to aim higher than that. Just my two cents...

DP

DP that stand for Dani Pacheco, if its you mate nice try. ;)
huddz red

Faith in BR

What next faith in the tooth fairy

Mate im a celtic fan and a liverpool fan and Im not going sit here listening to your pish about Hooper. The wee mans quality and he now's where the net is trust me a watch him week in week out and hes scoring in the champions league, remember that league were all desp to get back into. Your going come back at me about Scotland being a backwater of football and all our players are rubbish, Sorry forgot about all those players that have graced the game in Scotland. Mmmm Im sure the king game from celtic, jelivec, hanson, sounes, law,bremner the list goes on and on and on so how about giving it a rest. If BR fancy gary im happy with that. get behind the team stop moaning and be happy were going forward as a team, have owners that are he for the long term and a bright bright future. YNWA remeber what that means mate.

Scottybhoy 1888

Well said Scottyboy.

DaveyBootle

It's not an issue with Scotland, it's simply that Hooper is not good enough. Plenty of players know where the net is, but you need more if you want to compete with the Manchesters/Arsenal etc. Could you see them being remotely interested in signing Hooper? No and neither should we, sorry.

If we were to sign him though, I would support him to the hilt. I would appreciate you not question my understanding of 'YNWA'

DP

Hansen came from partick thisle,
me thinks?

20 Oct 2012 09:05:53

20 Oct 2012 07:25:37
EDs - Since we need a striker, what are chances of Hadji Diouf signing for LFC??

Salif D. {Ed063's Note - Well Mr. Diao, I would say not too good}

Lol. 6 goals in 79 games and a gentleman to boot. Give him a 5 year contract!

Len

Did you hear what he said about Gerrard!
NO WAY {Ed063's Note - That one went way over your head didn't it?}

Dont say that len knowing liverpool we will prob make him the top earner aswell

20 Oct 2012 04:46:24
What's your opinion on Pato ed063? Hard as nails that bloke!

Melbourne CFC {Ed063's Note - Enjoying your weekend? Kicking back in the sun with a beer are you?}

It's a lovely day on this side of the world mate so I thought I'd take a bird out. Got this mate Gareth that is hanging round like a bad smell though, any tips?

Melbourne CFC {Ed063's Note - I reckon a thousand dollars would probably get rid of him, or an iphone}

Thanks for the advice ed, appreciate it. Decided to just give him a smack in the head, was a little worried he would retaliate, but he is a pool fan. Hasn't been any fight in him for years now ;-)

Melbourne CFC {Ed063's Note - Hahahahahahahaha}

20 Oct 2012 08:58:12
For once Melbourne,you actually made me chuckle.
Suppose being funnys a nice change from just being funny looking eh? ;)
WelshBoyDave

Is your actual name Melanie Bourne and is this Gareth actually your boy-friend. This chicken you took out is probably a chicken-leg for on the barbie! As for your reference to 'giving him a smack on the head' he is to be commended for not reacting to senseless and needless violence! You must be really proud of yourself!
Ben Terug {Ed063's Note - Hahaha}

20 Oct 2012 04:28:10
In January Rodgers will have the funds to buy a striker of his choosing. (this window will be a true test if the owners believe in him as everyone can see we need investment into the team)

Alexandre Pato: £26m or 32m euros plus £2.5m in add ons. (full price could be 35m euros)

Michel Bastos: £7m

Player in total: £33m

Downing will be sold along with Cole and Pacheco: looking to get £11m for them.

out goings: £11m, plus £4m for adam and £1m for carroll loan.

net spending in January: £17m

=============PATO.9===========
==BASTOS.15=============SUAREZ==
=========ALLEN====GERRARD======
=============LUCAS============
JOHNSON==================WISDOM
========AGGER=====SKRTEL=======
=============REINA============

JONES, ENRIQUE, COATES, SAHIN, SHELVEY, STERLING, SUSO.

Why do you think those players would sign for us?there overated and have it easy in there leagues,id like to see more urugyan players join,they seem to have the fighting mentality,mix that with the kop=winning combanation
dorset liam

Bastos is more left back to left midfield, not playing behind the striker in a three! also believe he favours another team? if he moves.

20 Oct 2012 01:41:40
Eds, where do all the posts go between Banter 6-12 and Banter 2? Apparently there's been nothing between about midday today and 12th October! {Ed063's Note - Haha I actually have no idea mate}

20 Oct 2012 01:14:10
Hi Eds do You think we can go for Lewandowski or will he cost too much? Thanks {Ed063's Note - Too much and I'm still not completely convinced by him. He is very good, but theres something missing with him - just can't quite put my finger on it}

Ed063, finally a someone speaking sense. something's missing. did you know he was one of the reasons kagawa went to manu? because he's very selfish. {Ed063's Note - No I didn't know that mate. Its very interesting}

20 Oct 2012 00:03:27
No matter who the player is we have been linked with there is always some who comes onto this site who may have friends or family who know or are related to the player or have done there gardening and the player has been open and told them whats happening forgeting about journalism

Perfectly possible. They're only people you know.
