hi eds, great site, it seems to have gone quiet over the possible recruitment of Arda Turan , just looked at some previous news on him and his agent hinted that he could be available this summer as he only has two years left on his contract and we could get him for £15 mill . The guy has got good skills and he suits F S G criteria just wondered if you had heard anythin ed.......Welshred {Ed002's Note - Arda Turan looks Atletico Madrid bound. Talks have been going on for a while and he will move this summer. Dortmund apparently, remain interested but Villarreal have dropped any interest that they had. Spurs have dipped their toe in the water over the player and I suspect Valencia are keeping a watchful eye on matters. I am surprised that Liverpool have not followed up the interest they previously had in the player.}
------------
Don't watch a lot of the Turkish league and only saw Turan play a couple of times, but if you have saw him play before Ed, do you think that he is a good enough player to play for liverpool, Thanks Ed.

jordon henderson is very very average. would b an absolute waste of money!! will b so annoyed if we waste yet more money on players who arent good enough!!

I also agree that dunne is a great player. He is a leader, organises a defence, great tackler and header of the ball. But he is 31 and we have carra. I feel he is too old to replace Carra.

I think Carroll will be like a new signing for us next season. He has hardly played since he arrived and clearly never looked really fit. Didn't look as dangerous or as mobile as he did playing for Newcastle early in the season. If he remains fit - I believe stevey G will be on fire next season. Gerrard had a fantastic couple of seasons playing with Peter crouch and scored a ton of goals. If stevey is given a free role with no defensive responsibilities you will see him shine again. He will live and thrive off the space and havoc andy caroll will create. We will never produce or see another player of gerrard's quality in our lifetime wearing the liver bird shirt so let's hope he stays injury free and we get another 4/5 years enjoying this immense player.

Also..... I think downing is a top player. Technically very good , great left peg and has that vision that all good players have. He won't burst down the wing and take on 5 players - but he will provide quality passes and crosses for our strikers. Can also play inside left and eventually centre mid. With him, gerrard, Suarez and a few more quality additions.... It will be pass and move the Liverpool groove all the way to the top!

personally i dont want one player draining the whole liverpool kitty when we cud get 2 or 3 good players one of the reasons liverpool will try and get aguero is cos he would sell the shirts!!!

My cousins, best mates, sisters, husbands, brother works as the tea lady in Anfield he hear these strong rumours:
Kun Aguero has been signed for £10million, David N'Gog and a packet of seabrooks crisps.
Fernando Torres will not return despite his 'come and get me' plea, Dalglish sent him an e-mail saying he's not wanted.
Simon Kjaer has been spotted a a local barbers in Anfield amid rumoura hes coming here, Denmark have been given two crates of marmite for the transfer, Paul Konchesky will be kept on at the offical Liverpool barber were he only offers number 1's.
He also hear'd Kenny turned down a move for Messi after signing Harry Kewell for £500,000 a week which will result in the closure of the Liverpool academy due to bankruptcy!

You hear'd it here first!

Ed's, is aguero an LFC fan? {Ed002's Note - So I hear.}

"Hahahaha we have ngog r u serious lol ngog my god wat an amazing player he is lol kuyt is ok but not great, we have suarez and carroll we need a 3rd striker left winger right winger cb and left back 1 winger would do for now tho i guess we also need a cm cos gerrard i think is finished, lucas i dont think is great hes ok but not great, meireles is r best midfielder, and spearing is a good youngster but wee need someone better than lucas"

your laughing at my post, Gerrard finished? I dont think so. At any club bar man city and utd name 1 club where all the strikers are of the same ability? At every club you have your best two and two back up. Yeah N'gog isnt world beater but he is back up, and have you been watching kuyt and lucas since Kenny has been in? Idiot.

Also on marveux, we are obviously signing him to play each week. We arnt gonna go out and sign him and mata coz neither would want to sign if they where not going to play.

Ed001, u seem to have conections in the North-East, is there any truth in the Jordan Henderson rumours? {Ed001's Note - there has been some kind of contact between us and Sunderland, that is all I have been able to find out.}
------------------ I heard we have agreed a fee?

01 Jun 2011 22:08:11
serdar tasci/simon kjaer for CB backup
enrique LB
mata and maveraux LW

would even take a look at Scott Sinclair tbh

01 Jun 2011 22:07:32
If Liverpool got rid of Joe Cole who is reported to be on £90.000 a week for sitting on the bench , that could help pay good wages to a decent said player.
After all the fee is not the problem.

01 Jun 2011 22:02:09
I truly believe that mata will be a liverpool player and also that we are really close to Aguero, my source ( a bit of a sado hangs around at melwood for 30mins or so (amateur photographer) to see what's up and he said he may have seen the two players mentioned, nothing concrete but it's a start and atleast hes not saying he definetly saw them so

Mr Botros
------------------------------------------

Who is the sado ? {Ed002's Note - Both players are on International duty on different continents.}

Honestly reading all these rumours and transfer stories tells me one thing. Liverpool fc are back doing their business behind closed doors and i for one am glad. This is what the club has been built on and shall now create a new dynasty by doing.
All we know for definite is that we have the right man at the helm and that he along with some opinions from others inside the club will sign the CORRECT players needed and not the biggest names/fees getting spoken about in the media.

Sorry lads but I left the Citeh and Manc site after my daily gander over there and I haven't stopped laughing since. Citeh are talking about spending 450 M on some sort of team with the heart of a dodo and the mancs are bitching about Judas's 1 year extension as a sign of intent of their club for the summer. God I love the Glazers in a strange twisted way.

Chi-Paul

p.s. wouldnt it be great if they sent Berbaflop to spudz + 20M for Modric and Shrek runs away to Madrid at summers end.

p.p.s. Anyone thinking our site is nuts, go over for a good laugh and see how rational we really are.

01 Jun 2011 21:41:49
{Ed001's Note - I haven't no, but the difficulty has never been in paying his transfer fee, it has always been his wages that are the problem.}

With his wages could we offer a high percentage of his image rights? He would have the same sort of brand as Torres did for us and Torres's number 9 shirt was the biggest selling shirt in Europe for 2 years. {Ed002's Note - Sadly it is rather more complex than that. Clubs have already failed to build an acceptable package for him.}

01 Jun 2011 21:31:51
i think people forget this is not the January transfer window, its the summer window. the British market is open for 3 or 4 months. people are making out we have days left to buy players lets just chill out and wait for a couple of weeks and see what the king pulls out of his hat instead of making stupid allegations of players signing days into the window.

01 Jun 2011 21:34:08
I think kd and dc are doing transfer deals behind closed doors and I expect a few surprises just like the Henderson bid today whether it's true or not I just can't wait the next few weeks are gonna be interesting

to the chap who said aguero is average he's still a kid and has scored 125 in 290 its not exactly average is it, i personally don't want him i'd rather get lavezzi who i think is more suited to the prem.

fester

Aguero is far from average player. He is extremly expensive player it's not just 25-30-35-40m for transfer his wage would be 150k at least per week. Can we afford that?

Having given up trying to second guess KK, DC, SC et al for the time being (my tips for the surprise transfer(s) - Seb Larssen and/or Craig Mackail-Smith - I'm joking of course), I think the future of Aquilani is worth contemplating. Now it would be easy (and possibly quite wise) to side with the Eds and suggest he'll probably head back to Serie A, or maybe even La Liga, but what's the counter-argument?

If look at KK's comments during his tenure thus far as reported in the press (so maybe genuine, maybe not) we know that he doesn't want players at the club who don't want be there. And we also know that Aquilani has been oft quoted in the even more reliable Italian media as saying he wants to stay at Juve and didn't want to come to England in the first place. So that doesn't sound promising does it? Definitely a score for the Eds.

Except.... First, despite not being known for his prowess with the english language, alberto has also stated his happiness to play in England for Liverpool - both around the time he was playing here and then again about a month ago (when it became clear that the new Juve regime weren't overly enamoured of him). So which is his true feeling - or should we just translate these comments as "I just want play football and get paid. Please like me."

And KK has gone on the record with his admiration for the fickle Italian I "to me it would be like enew signing". So, Eds, I reckon that's 1-1.

But, let's look at KKs comments again, and think critically how Alberto would fit into his plans for next season. There is another way of reading KK's comments - after all, publicly saying "oh god, that Italian bloke with the girlie hair and the glass ankles is coming back. What we going to do wi' him." Is hardly going to get the great and the good of European/US football pulling £10m out of their wallets is it. So perhaps KK was just protecting AAs value. Hmmm.

Let's leave it as 1-1
:-)

John henry and tom Werner are due in London within the next 48 hrs or so, they are to conclude some business talks whilst over here, but they will then take time to deal with some matters then relating to Liverpool, but in essence this to "meet" with comolli and a player..who will be introduced to the "main" players of fsg, who will then share their vision of where Liverpool are heading etc.

And I can confirm that after a few conversations I've had that a serious attempt to sign aguero is still being hammered out with his reps

-------------------------------------------------

That my friend is total rubish, soon Mr Henry & Mr Werner , will be in liverpool to sort out the stadium situation, I do believe that this july decisions need to be made to avoid the loss of some funding, I dont here a lot here in the states but im 99% certain the club will remain at Anfield.

Ed please inform me, as I understand it Kenny said he doesn't want greedy players at the club, does aguero not fall into that category? Is he not holding out to see who offers him the most money or best deal? {Ed002's Note - You may have a point.}

01 Jun 2011 20:54:19
Ed, you heard anything on Sammy Lee leaving Liverpool? {Ed002's Note - No.}

01 Jun 2011 21:21:27
Just A few Things>>>

People on hear are posting rumours that we are signing players that are supposedly not good enough for LFC?!. Does anyone really think that KK is gonna buy players that aren't LFC material. He's a lifelong fan for heavensake he loves the club and wants it to win!.

Furthermore do you really think FSG are going to buy a director of football who isn't good enough to be the LFC director of football. I'm quite sure that Comolli is a very good scout and that we will have to watch and see what they give us over the coming months. We are all liverpool fans yet we are slagging both players and staff off!

one more note - Am I the onlyone who would be delighted to see Charlie Adam in a LFC shirt next season. Being a consistent performer at a crap club takes alot of doing and he could only play better in a better team!.

For gods sake can we stop with the Aguero talk. This site was great till all this crap started. We dont need him, weve got a strikeforce worth 50 million in Carroll and Suarez AND we have kuyt, Ngog, pacheco as back up.

Now some realism. All we need is a left back and 2wingers. If marveux is a done deal then our money will go on a LB and a RW. Am guessing on Ashley Young and Izaguerre.

Also we dont need a cb, we have carra, agger, skrtl, kelly and Ayala and wisdom.
---------------------------------------
You are wrong. Firstly, Marveux is not good enough to start for us; he is of similar ability to Maxi, if not worse. Also, we do need a Centre back. Agger is always injured and Carra is getting old and slow now. The only Centre Back I think worth getting however, would be Sakho from PSG.

I wish all you f****n muppets would shut up about aguero..he's not coming end of!!

01 Jun 2011 21:03:25
Am i the only one that wants gervinho to join..?

noone seems to be talking bout him and instead are linking us with 50 million pound players.. gervinho would be an excellent signing as hes quick strong and good dribbler.. not sure about crossing ability but would be a good addition to our right wing and can play ST aswell

ED have our chances improved off signing Mata in recent days, thanks,

Conor {Ed002's Note - I suspect that in order to get the best deal, Valencia may want to wait (a) to see if Barcelona show an interest; (b) until after the Under 21 Championships where he could well put in a very good performance.}

Ed002 - Do you honestly believe how Mata performs at the U21 Championship will make any difference to a buying club?
Do you not think Barca, Lpool etc etc not know this guys capabilities?
Clubs will wait to after the Championship so he aint injured and nothing else mate

{Ed002's Note - It would be naive to think the clubs do not take a hard look at players at European Championships, World Cups etc.. It may not make a difference to Liverpool or Barcelona who have already been closely watching the player, but perhaps it will ignite interest from someone else as well?}

Messi Rooney Torres all these player's did not score in the WC, my point is big players dont always preform on the big show, so dont take anything from the U21 Championship, Ed correct me if im wrong but was'n Babel player of that tournament a while back

G

{Ed002's Note - Your point being that no clubs should go and watch players in tournaments. Fine. We may as well end it here as we will never agree.}

i dont agree that we shouldnt watch out for players playing for their international team, but i have to agree with the comment of players not performing well for their country look at messi he doesnt play anywhere near as good for argentina as he does for barca, , , england players dont perform for england as good as they do for their clubs, when it comes to international football u need to take into account that fact and not jus go off how they perform for their country but dont stop watching international football cos there is alot who do perform well too {Ed001's Note - you make no point whatsoever. Ed002's point is that Valencia might well hope to stir up more interest if Mata plays well. Now that is a sensible point and any dispute is idiotic, we all know that many players are signed off the back of a good international tournament.}

For the left back spot how about phillipe lahm? Great player, great attitude, a leader on the pitch (germanys captain) and would be a great person for the likes of jack robinson and co to learn from. Plenty of experience! comments welcome....

For those who say that Liverpool don't need Sergio Aguero don't have a clue how good he is. If he signed for a top 10 team they would make 4th place. Liverpool need more technical players in the team. Technical players played on the wing adapt to that position easily. If you look at Barcelona they have technical players all over the field. Pass and move doesn't work as well without dynamic technical players. Yes we need width but make sure the wingers are technically gifted. Suarez, Aguero, gerrard, Mata and perotti on the same team will be as good as any team in the premiership. If Liverpool sign Aguero I doubt anybody will be pessimistic. Liverpool have at least 75 million to spend not including money left over from buying Carroll and the sales we make this summer. We are interested put it that way.

Players should sign for Liverpool now then wait for Champions League because I believe they will get it especially if we sign some of the players we're linked with I believe we will sign
J Henderson
S Downing
J McCarthy
P Jones/S Dann
J Enrique(Even though Rumours have went away)
Gervinho

On a positive note the John Carew and Sol Campbell deals should be wrapped up by the weekend.

if that's the standard of signings we're making, i'd like to say fairwell to luis, stevie, pepe and raul - it's been nice having ya!

01 Jun 2011 20:29:01
It was early morning today when I was walking in Madrid, near the Vicente Calderon (a magnificent stadia, I must say) during my 3 day tour there.
A black Cadillac parked about 8 metres from us (me, my brother and mother-in-law.

As the (left side) doors of the vehicle openned, with two men about to get off, suddenly came 4 running young men who being chased by 3 guards.
They sped past us and, as the two men in the Cadillac were about to make their way out of the car, two of these young men tripped and crashed into of the man emerging from the back of the Cadillac.

The man fell very hard and dropped his suitcase which smashed against... I think it was a steel bin.
The suitcase openned and it's contents, a couple of documents, got all over the place (it was quiet windy).

Strangely, one of the documents fell right on my feet.
As you would expect, I picked them up. I couldn't hold them firmly as the wind was blowing them in all directions and I was also carrying my baggage.
But I managed to see a few lines.
I'm not sure but I believe one of the things I saw was "Liverpool Football Club; Atletico; 45m; Sergio Aguero; cash".

Before I could read for more, the man who had fell, the owner of the documents, had quickly raced to me and grabbed them.
He was white, had black, neatly tidied hair and wore glasses.
He said something of this effect to me: " this is supposed to be a surprise, okay? So help me keep it that way. I know what you saw, but just, keep it hush-hush."

"Sir", I replied, pointing to my LFC shirt, cap and keyholder, "is Aguero going to be turning out in these next season?"
He smiled and said, "Stop asking questions. Know that you'll be delighted and thrilled 12 weeks from now, if of course you're what I think you are."

He buttoned his tuxedo and, with a fine French accent, "Walk on, friend."
He walked away, and entered the Calderon.

Make of this what you will, but I know what I saw.

Jesus this is getting a bit much! Man you have way too much time on your hands to write that shat.

WHY ARE LIVERPOOL GOIN TO VILLA AND AFTER DOWNING AND YOUNG WHEN THE BEST WIDE PLAYER THEY HAVE IS ALBRIGHTON. I RECKON ALBRIGHTON AND ADAM JOHNSON FAR BETTER OPTION THAN DOWNING AND YOUNG! ADAM JOHNSON NOT HAPPY AT CITY EITHER!!!

01 Jun 2011 20:14:37
hey ed
has there been any movment in liverpool today with transfers or any info ??
fagan81 {Ed002's Note - Read the posts please.}

01 Jun 2011 20:14:21
Aquilani is a better passer than Adam. He just doesn't seem it because we expected more from him but look on YouTube at Aquilani and you will see. The only reason Adam looked so good was that he was a big fish in a small pond. Imagine if he played for Chelsea. He wouldn't be so good then would he? In my opinion, he is a waste of money however a player that we should really push to sign if we where getting a Central Midfielder would be Javi Martinez. Dont know how likely it would be though; do you know ed?

thanks. {Ed002's Note - 0/10. Martinez has signed a new Athletic Bilbao contract.}

01 Jun 2011 20:08:18
Young reportedly saying he wants to play champions league football. If true that's closes that option.
--------------------------------------------------
Most players you ask in the premiership want to play champions league football ?
And Liverpool the season after next will have a great chance of getting Champions league football.

Any good player with the right ambition and attitude would know that and want that also ....

01 Jun 2011 20:03:17
ed, in your opinion who's better aguero or benzema? and what's the latest with hazard? {Ed002's Note - I am not going to compare Benzema and Aguero. Hazard signed a new contract with Lille and if he cannot get a move that suits him (Barcelona and Real Madrid were his preference) then he could stay and play in the Champions League next year. Juventus are very keen but cannot offer football at the highest level right now. Arsenal, Liverpool, Juventus, Real Madrid, Spurs and Barcelona have shown interest or admiration for the player. I would not be surprised to see Manchester United throw their hat in to the ring as well. If he does move and I was pushed for an answer, I think he could end up in Italy, possibly at Inter. The recent Liverpool bid rumours seem to be little more than the recycling of the story of Damian Comolli asking to be kept informed of any movements for the player and this is several weeks old. If it were Arsenal or Liverpool I would say Arsenal.}

01 Jun 2011 19:53:55
We need a left wing/back and Coentrao is just that, do you think there is any chance of the reds signing him?

01 Jun 2011 19:53:13
Watching Nigeria vs Argentina and that perotti is awful first touch is awful if we sign him I will not be happy

01 Jun 2011 19:47:32
cant see aguero going to real to be honest but ido like the idea of higuain becoming available he is class.doubt very muuch if 15 mill would even come close tho , try doubling it. jonny m

01 Jun 2011 19:36:39
We need a wingback...Coentrao is out there...sign him kk!

01 Jun 2011 19:36:35
The latest news from my reliable ITK is that Aguero will definately NOT be joining Liverpool. The club has made rather tentative enquiries and were stopped short by Aguero himself stating that he isnt prepared to play for a team without european football. Liverpool were even prepared to offer Suarez in part exchange as he doesnt like life in Liverpool and wants a move to Spain.

On a positive note the John Carew and Sol Campbell deals should be wrapped up by the weekend.
-----------------------------
Is this bloke having a laugh !
Suarez been best player in the second half of our season and we were gunna part exchange him!
John Carew and Sol Campbell !

lol people who say we definitly not getting aguero havent a clue because aguero told madrid press he was hoping liverpool bid for him cos he would like to play for liverpool as hes a life long fan of LFC we have jus as much chance as anyone at getting him, they also say juventus is the only team whos made enquiries for him but juventus r in same place as we r they finished 7th so they have no europe either we would get him over juventus any day

Please can someone try explain the love affair people have with Downing?? I feel Liverpool need exciting wingers e.g mata or a Nani (just an example). Suarez (although a striker) has lifted the team, with his trickery and movement along the front line(mostly coming from wide areas) an exciting winger/striker will bring a decent balance to the front line, i just don't think Downing is that type of player... We need wingers that will take on defenders... Regarding Aguero, The South African Real Madrid Association President is adamant they are still in the hunt regardless of the club statement. I do feel we do have a chance to get him though
South African YNWA {Ed002's Note - I have said repeatedly, do not discount Aguero moving to Real Madrid, regardless of what has been said. You will need someone else to explain about Downing.}

lets stop the fifa gravy train and get to their sponsors like adidas, coca cola and others by boycotting there products until they cut ties with blatter and co.STOP football being screwed

HIPKOP07

{Ed002's Note - The biggest threat to FIFA remains a breakaway regional organisation splitting, say for example, UEFA. And this is not as far fetched as it seems. I know of several side meetings that have taken place when club representatives have been gathered for the Champions League draw. A European Super League has been discussed and there could be enormous ramifications if it happened.}

The latest news from my reliable ITK is that Aguero will definately ....
----------------------------------
Stop making crap up idiot, bad enough you say we would get rid of Suarez for aguero, then you link us with players who have no place wearing the shirt, god I hate half ter

01 Jun 2011 19:04:42
We all know we're looking for a 1st choice Lb, after that nobody knows where we're looking to strenghten only KK because its down to the system he has in mind that he wants to play.If he's going for carroll up front with suarez and another player of similar mould either side of him in a 4-3-3 then i cant see us goin for too many wingers, in the same way if he's going to go 4-4-2 with carroll and suarez up front then i cant see us signing a striker of kun's standard cos none of them 3 will want to be warming the bench so it'd be wide men we'll look to bring in for a 4-4-2.it'll become alot clearer after we see who our 1st/2nd signings are.i'd love to see carroll with suarez and aguero either side of him causing mayhem but i cant see us signing him.....hope im wrong.

01 Jun 2011 19:02:30
{Ed006's Note - I have never seen him play so I can't comment. I'd rather see Agger fit or stick with Skrtel.}

Is that not a comment???

Kjaer is pure class, plays with Agger at international level, Would be a brilliant addition.

01 Jun 2011 19:00:03
The latest news from my reliable ITK is that Aguero will definately NOT be joining Liverpool. The club has made rather tentative enquiries and were stopped short by Aguero himself stating that he isnt prepared to play for a team without european football. Liverpool were even prepared to offer Suarez in part exchange as he doesnt like life in Liverpool and wants a move to Spain.

On a positive note the John Carew and Sol Campbell deals should be wrapped up by the weekend

Every last word written in this posting is complete tosh - why this has been posted i have no idea.

Re ITK news post re aguero. Wot a load of tosh, 1 aguero wouldn't dismiss Lfc just coz not in Europe 2 we would never part ex Suarez He is just 2 gud & 3 utter carp re Suarez not settling, he has settled with kuyt, Lucas & maxi at club.

Eurosport: ATLETICO MADRID: News arrives from AS as the paper reveals Sergio Aguero is about to sign for ... Adidas! They neatly tie this in with the fact that Real Madrid are also sponsored by the company. Putting two and two together? Well, Nike were influential in taking Ronaldo from Barcelona to Inter all those years ago...

WE ARE ADIDAS TOO?

Some interesting news fellas. I was outside The Goat pub in town when a black mercedes pulled up. I initially backed away thinking it could possibly be a drug dealer or some other gangster. But no, the man peered out the back of the car and requested the way to Melwood. Through the whirling smoke in the back of the car I caught a glimspe of non other than Kun Aguero! He gave me a swift wink and with that the car drove off. Interesting summer indeed chaps.

Regards, Ken.

01 Jun 2011 18:55:48
{Ed002's Note - No need for Mata and Perotti then either.}

I wasn't implying that there was no need for wingers, as we all know there is, all i was trying to point out is that buying Aguero would give us the option of going 4, 3, 3 with quality, strength, pace and top quality goal scorers up front. And another point i would like to make is, if rumours are correct and Liverpool wanted to buy Carroll in the sumer (for £35million) and have 3 strikers of Suarez, Torres & Carroll, then why not Aguero in the summer???? and have Suarez, Carroll and Aguero......

SteTheRed

{Ed002's Note - That is my point - if Liverpool are going to move to a 4-4-3 formation the whay are the club looking at Mata, Perotti, Payet, Marin and all of the other wingers that have been linked. Additionally, the club are seemingly focusing on strikers like Gervinho and Moukandjo - who are good enough to provide great cover as strikers but not great strikers such as Villa or Messi.}

01 Jun 2011 18:55:16
no need for Aguero, we need 2 wingers on left back and we need to make sure there all international quality players and consistent. we have dirk kuyt as a back up forwardand no need to spend stupid amount on Aguero

Just to back up what has already been said,
mates from Sunderland area have stated Jordan Henderson has signed for you. All you need now is Charlie Adam and you will storm the Europa League in seasons to come.
KevDarko

I was just on another page(mancs)you posted a rumour on there as well talking about Adam and Henderson, not being sarcastic, but are you OK??????

hi ed's with all the names mentioned who do ye think would be the most realistic signings that we can expect
thanks {Ed002's Note - It is impossible to answer that I am afraid without heading for the obvious answer of Sylvain Marveaux. You see, what if Liverpool fail to offer enough money for a target; what if his club won't sell; what if the player won't move?}

01 Jun 2011 18:26:06
i think we need a left back, 2 centre halfs, 2 wingers, a centre midfielder and a cover striker because to be honest we are not going to get anywhere with spearing and lucas in the midfield.

01 Jun 2011 18:25:58
Are their any truth to the rumours that xabi is coming back? There are hints everywhere, plus there is a stupid rumour that we are gonna sell suarez in exchange for gervinho, i dont believe it one bit but hey its a rumour aint it

Wrong page you are on, good try, ya wont stir up us Pool fans, i heard Rooney will be sold for 40 Mill to Real Madrid.

01 Jun 2011 18:25:53
hey ed,

want to start a topic of discussion: STRIKER

I think we definitly need one, my first choie wud be walcott. I know the chances are slim but arsenal aint using him right, he needs a good CF behind him, and he needs to lead the line. A through ball for him to run on to would be a wondorous strategem. He played lead striker against spurs and scored 2 in 10 minutes. But i think a striker who is similiar to him would be the best signings. So fans some questions for you: Do you agree with my point, is there anyone similiar out there that you can name, or if no what kind of striker would you partner with suarez, seeing as we already have the tall option.

Plus a question for the ed, is there any interest in that monaco guy?

me14 {Ed002's Note - If you mean Moukandjo, it is reported that he is being considered as an alternative to Gervinho. Park-Chu Young from Monaco would be an even better option.}

01 Jun 2011 18:24:43
Ed and all posters, for everyone's sanity, PLEASE no more Aguero rumors! Do not post any! Love the site otherwise...

01 Jun 2011 18:22:57
It's pretty clear that LFC is in a tough spot this summer. We need to sign top players to help us fight for 4th place, but can't offer European football or massive wages.

You obviously dont know King Kenny that well, he wont be buying players to help us in to 4th spot he will be buying players that will be pushing 1st place..Keep the faith sick of saying this but senior players are not excited about the likes of Adam, Mavereux etc coming in, think it might be a bit better than that..

Red Dave.

01 Jun 2011 18:22:39
on a facebook page called bleed red it has stated this:
" DAY of uk transfer Window :
Sunderland have accepted an offer of LFC for Jordan Henderson [7-12 mill].Young or downing are coming here. Monaco's Park to LFC with a fee of 6 million quoted. Simon Kj r has publicly said he is a huge Red and wants come here.Adam deal is still on. LFC, low offer for Mata, like [like Suarez] because he wants to come here. And the day is not over yet"
is there any truth in this eds? {Ed002's Note - I am not going to comment on FaceBook stuff - we will be here forever then.}

01 Jun 2011 18:21:06

We are signing.
Charlie Adam
Carlton Cole
Shaun Wright Phillips
Mathieu Valbuena
Scott Parker
Joey Barton

We will defo get in europa league next season la's. {Ed002's Note - With Barton I am assuming you will not be planning on getting in via the Fair Play League then?}

--------------------
that sounds mostly like roys wishlist with the exeption of valbuena they are average at best

01 Jun 2011 18:14:38
Ed 002, do you see us signing any on Suarez's (match winners) level. While on the topic of Suarez did you or any other eds see him signing. I know atleast one of the eds was adamant that we wouldn't be signing him. Nobody knows who we will sign. Through the process of elimination you may get a hint but I feel it is all cojecture. {Ed002's Note - I did not expect Suarez to sign because Liverpool were not dealing well with teh negotiations as evidenced by Comolli heading to France to look at Hoarau and Gervinho. Fine, I accept I was wrong. We have a very good idea which players the club are looking at and you must remember that players for other less attractive areas than "match winners" are needed by the club. I have confirmed the interest in Mata and Perotti so it is clear that efforts are being made to make improvements to the squad. Again, we know that a bid has been placed, and rejected, for Enrique.}

01 Jun 2011 18:09:40

H Eds , Great site by the way.

I don't know how solid your inside (if that is one part) information or people you know somehow connected to the club is or are.
I just generally like all you Eds and fellow reds out there.

In your opinion Ed(not sure which one) we do not require a CM and therefore you may be surprised if we sign Adam (personally I'm not his biggest fan).

But if Poulsen were pulling his weight and actually impacted on a game rather than refracting from it, we would welcome the diversity.

So as you say, and I agree, CM is not one of our Main priorities (these are:- LB, Wingers x2 poss 3 and back up striker) I think that offloading that bag o's*"te Poulsen and bringing someone with proven talent at spraying balls, a la Alonso, it would be somethng we would consider...no?

Thanks for all the work you guys put into this site, my posting is not intended to irritate.

London Red - We All Will Never Walk Alone {Ed002's Note - I agree in that I am not a fan of Adam either. But assume Poulsen is leaving and Aquilani is not returning. Spearing has come on a lot but the club have been looking for someone else, possibly as a long term replacement for Gerrard. Moussa Sissoko of Toulouse has been looked at as an example.}

01 Jun 2011 17:49:59
01 Jun 2011 16:20:09
i think liverpool should keep Alberto Aquilani, and give him a chance i think he would be a really big threat behind carroll and suarez... and behind him merieles and gerrard with 2 good wingers on the side of him. all round with him on the pitch we would have a great season i reckon

-------------------

are we gonna play 3 at the back then? i think we'll be going 4-3-3 personally

Offcource Wolfsburg was falling apart since idiots sold Mislimovi &Dzeko. They also had brainless manager. Magath bearly managed to save them. Diego played 3 seasons in Werder than he wasn't troublemaker! They sold him for 25mEUR to Juve. {Ed002's Note - Who took a significant loss and sold him to Wolfsburg because he was trouble, No Wolfsburg are taking a significant loss moving him on because he is a trouble maker.}

Stop dreaming about Aguero he's not coming to LFC. Kranj ar would be signing for LFC(last season he missed games due to injury, then Harry prefered RVV-when TH managed to get 4th place Kranj ar was one of their best players) as well as Adam or Diego. We can get Downing(maybe Mata if we are very lucky-wich means he doesn't go to MCFC or CFC) Young Cole+cash or Gervinho. Even Adam is ? since MUFC has interest in him. Enrique should be done deal but not for 4m(6-10m). Sakho is too expensive and now PSG is in hands of Arabs french MCFC. I can't belive that everyone in EPL missed K.P.Boateng he went to AC Milan for 7.5mEUR, Ozill for 11mEUR, Khedira for 10mEUR and LFC payed 36mpounds for Caroll?????????!

{Ed002's Note - PSG is in the hands of Qatari investors. If anyone is the new MC, then it will be Malaga.}

sorry to cut and paste, and no disrespect meant, but just because some player turns down man city, this does not mean that we are automaticlly ruled out, city is not as great as a club as us, nor as big, some players may actualy, have some pride. im sure champions leauge isnt the be all and end all for all players, im sure we couldnt of been the only ones in for suarez, so stop with all this they wont come to us, WE ARE LIVERPOOL

Arsenal and Chelsea target Philippe Mexes has still not ruled out a summer move to the Premier League (talkSPORT)

Even though this is not a Liverpool rumour i am posting this to show how wide of the mark some rumours can be from well know sources.

Mexes agreed to sign for AC Milan some time ago, and it was also confirmed by the club alongside Taiwo a few weeks ago.

GH15

----------------------------------------------------

Well said, everyone ruled us out of signing Suarez and i also recall somebody getting abuse for linking Carroll to us. Its unbelievable how far from the truth some people and their sources are. I'm a Newcastle fan and was showing one of my mates who is a Villa fan just how delusional you boys are, but his takes the biscuit... I m sure that Newcastle have got a sell on clause with Carol, so wouldn t that mean you re getting Enrique for free? Oh and Sergio Aguero for 39 mil... lol too funny. Coming to this side of the rumours page always makes me smile....

Hey Ed,
Just wanted to know if F bio Aur lio is still contracted to LFC? Will he be shown the door during summer? What sort of contract is he on? Is it pay as you pay? And should LFC decide to sell him, will we get a nominal fee?
TQ ED. {Ed002's Note - He is contracted to next summer and was recently out injured. I do not know the terms of his contract but it is unlikely to be pay as you play.}

ed, just wondering do yo think kuyt will be dropped next season if the likes of mata nd perotti join?
thanks {Ed002's Note - Maybe, but Kuyt has played well and can play as a striker. I doubt he will eb short of games.}

Hi ed. Is it possible to stop responding to all these numpty's who are too lazy to read the posts. I am getting hacked off with coming on here and reading the same ol "oh ed, what's the chances of signing so & so out of ten?" etc. Not to mention having to read the standard ed response which we've all read a million times. To all the lazy numpty's out there, the eds have about as much idea as the rest of the people on here of what players will come in. Not to mention they have usually been wrong just as much as regular posters have.

As for all the tools saying we're going after players who just happen to some of the worst players around, get this into your head:

1) Werner said he wants to increase the wage bill.
2) We can afford the transfer fees and wages to most of the top stars mentioned on here. Just getting rid of the likes of Cole and Jovanovic (who we hardly use anyway)would free up about £200,000 a week
3) Signing Aguero for example, how would it affect the wage structure?. People in ALL businesses are paid more or less than the next person. Why would it make any difference in football?. Players are on different wages to each other now aren't they?.
4) Your not going to win the league these days, let alone compete in Europe with a team full of Carton coles, charlie adam etc. You need quality and class players. Ok so the scum won the league with their squad but everyone knows certain refs helped them out. (The amount of dodgy decisions given in their favour in the 10th minute of extra time over the years is just too suspicious.) Look what happened to them in the CL final!. Got walked over. Why?, cus Barca have a team full of class players.

Sorry, had to get that off my chest. Thanks for your work on the site eds, you do a great job. (a job which could be made easier if not for the repeat posts)

The Crow {Ed002's Note - As we get busier repeat posts will be dumped - have no fear.}

My opinion on who we should go after in the summer:

A GK to back up Reina (would have been Friedel but is more likely to join spurs)

1/2 CB's- dependent on if Kelly moves to CB and how long JC continues to play. Sakho and Dann are top of the list, Kyriagos will leave.

RB- set with Johnson, Kelly (for now) and Flanagan

LB- keep aurelio (back-up) , offload insua. Baines is unlikely but is a better option than Enrique. Coentrao will not happen.

CM- 1 or 2 at the most again. Gerrard, Meireles, Lucas, Spearing and Shelvey along with youth are promising. Charlie Adam would be useful, Jordan Henderson (allegedly) would be an excellent capture. Aquilani will be sold to an Italian side.

Wings- in need of strengthening, especially the left side. A.Young will go to United, we should be looking at 2 of Mata, Elia, A.Johnson and Perotti to cover the wing positions. Haven't seen enough of Marveaux to know how much he will contribute. J.Cole could leave but Maxi and Kuyt will be retained.

ST- Carroll and Suarez are clearly the starters but need depth. Kuyt is a good option and links well with Suarez but is more beneficial on the wing. potential targets should not be Aguero as KD will not play 3 up top.
Klose or Obasi could be realistic but we don't need another £20 mil striker.

Ryan Giggs is being heavily linked to a move to Swansea after he admitted that he "does miss Wales". Maybe we should try to get him?

Bob

- Is this that Giggs "does miss Wales" or "does Miss Wales" ? ;-) Lucky girl - Not!

Anyhow, great website.
I have no info or sources to share but I do agree that there is no point spending £50mil on Suarez & Carroll if we spend buttons on our wingers and full backs - so fingers crossed for this summer!

Hi there fellow Reds and Eds, not a rumour I 'm posting just an opinion. Theres been a lot of speculation about certain strikers being linked to LFC recently , ie, Aguero, Benzema, Gervinho etc. Do we need another "TOP" striker? Is KK gunna change formation and play 4, 3, 3? Seems like a lot of bother to me when the money could be spent on areas of the squad that need it more. I'm not saying don't go for another striker, just don't spend big money on one. We've got Kuyt, Suarez, Carroll and a couple of the kids at the academy look to have real potential.
If it was up to me I'd go for a striker that is coming towards the end of his career, give him a 1 year contract and send the academy kids out on loan for the season to give them quality first team football. Someone who fits the bill perfectly in my opinion is Kevin Phillips(dont laugh!) He's scored goals at every club he's played at, he said recently that he feels as fit as ever and i think he's been released by Birmingham so he won't cost anything. Hardly a marquee signing I know but could be a smart one.
So what do you think fellow Reds and Eds would it be worth a punt on a player coming towards the end his career?
All comments would very welcome, cheers.

----------------------------------------------------

You may get knocked for this one abit mate but i dont think its a bad shout either. Hes your good old fashioned striker who will grab you goals at any level. He would also be good on the training field. We got Morgy who looks like hes going to be a great striker in the future, Andy Carroll is still young and im sure they would learn bags of things of experience like him. It would be similar to the henrik larson United move.

I don't think we'' hear so much being leaked in terms of targets. Dalglish wants to return the club back to its tradition of doing club business behind closed doors. This is a two way operation in that the selling club and player must also stick to this, Liverpool will insist on it, so if you hear any negatives it doesn't really mean anything either way.

For example Dave Whelan stating today when asked about McCarthy, that no bid had been placed, this doesn't mean its true.

When a player is signed, and only then will we know for sure who we have been seriously targeting......

01 Jun 2011 13:50:18
These eds always say X will join inter Milan or chelsea or united or juventus. .
Do you guys need to be reminded that liverpool are now owned by FSG nicknamed winners! And not Hicks and Gillette nicknamed losers!
FSG have given Daglish and Camolli full backing to bring LFC back to the top ! And they are shrewd businessmen to know that Marveaux on a free is not going to be first teamer and future captain and not gonna take the PL by storm! He is signing if he does, to be a good squad player. So that if one of the 1st team regular is off colour or injured he could come in instead of the likes of poulsens, ngogs. These guys are gonna be impact subs. .
But we are looking to make atleast 5 first team signings!
We ve now become from a Two man team to 3 man ! That is going to become 6-7 man.
So eds when we are linked with say hazard, aguero , contraeo, mata do not rubbish it saying we wont pay their wage demands!
Dont sit in the past. We sold torres, so thats a considerable decrease in the wage bill. Cammoli wants to replace torres. Which is why we are linked with aguero be benzema. We can pay their wages! And we are going to clear the wage list alot more by selling deadwood. AND on top of all this! FSG and LFC have finances to have players earning 200k a week!
And as far as stevie G is concerned! He wants titles! He s not bothered about salary! So there are gonna be players who earn more than him.
So the likes of aguero, mata, benzema can happen. The probability is the same as it is for chels**te.
And not being in europa is daglish's master plan! Its not gonna affect bringin players like aguero.

ReBORN LFC

no way perotti is better then mata his good and i won't mind him signing for us he can be good player and improve us but mata is world class it's a no brainer plus mata stat's looks alot better 30 goals and 32 assists in the last 3seasons which is good where as perotti is talented but his still quite rough around the edges where mata is already a class player and perroti last 3seasons he racked up 11goals and 13 assists and they both are the same age but i hope we get both of them but if 1 mata all the way lad is class

Right I'm not Kenny Dalglish's brother and I don't know any one to do with the club. My point is that look at the Suarez situation in January we all heard he was coming and then it dragged on and we all thought it would fall through but look at him in the end playing for us. So for everyone who keeps saying about it may fall through just look at suarez and realise we have to trust our leaders.

I dont know if the Barton rumours are true or not, but if they are perhaps its to give Carroll some support both on and off the field. Carroll seems to be struggling a bit and if he had a close friend in Barton there to support him it may help his morale and form, and help him settle a little easier. KK and DC may be doing this for the long term benefit of Carroll

straight from the club rumours

in
BRAD FRIEDLE.............................FREE
FABIO CONTRAO........................£22 MILLION
PHIL JONES...............................£12 MILLION
NEVIN SUBOTOVIC......................£18 MILLION
SCOTT PARKER..........................£8 MILLION
CHARLIE ADAM...........................£7.5 MILLION
JAMES MCCARTHY......................£11 MILLION
ALEX CHAMBERLAIN....................£7 MILLION
ASHLEY YOUNG..........................£13 MILLION
JUAN MATA................................£17 MILLION
SYLVIAN MARVEAUX....................FREE
SERGIO AGUERO..........................£27 MILLION
CONNOR WICKHAM .....................£9 MILLION

(9) (16)

Straight from the club eh? Would that be the packet of club biscuits which speaks to you on a daily basis, you are clearly a very optimistic and positive, albeit totally delusional individual. Roughly an outlay of 155 million, not counting the crippling wages invoved, if Liverpool get four of those players it will be an awesome window. But really, give it up on aguero and contreao, they are never going to happen.

People and Ed(s).
People - Nobody knows what transfers are going to happen as we are doing it 'The Liverpool Way'. So all these people saying there in the know are talking bull. Only the club knows wants going on. You can guess which players are coming in or who you want to come in but the fact of the matter is you don't know for sure who is coming in. And most of them will happen after the 1st July.
Ed(s) - You guys are doing a brilliant job ! How you have kept this site going for so long is unbelievable ! I would like to thank you guys on behalf of everybody on this site especially after all the crap you guys get for ruling out possible transfer targets and you just accept it and carry on ! Amazing !
Thank you Ed(s) for creating such a wonderful site !

Plenty of names being put out there, but let's face it nobody knows apart from Kenny and Comoli.

Kenny has always been secretive in his dealings, as he sees this to be "the Liverpool way".

It would be pretty stupid for him or anybody else at the club to release information about who we are looking at signing, especially since Ferguson has always tried to gazump Kenny in the market.

Let's just wait and see, and be content with whatever our manager decides is best for the club, rather than suggesting we sign some random kid who scored a couple of goals for you on FM 2011.

This isn't a rumour, it's a reality check.

Good site Ed, shame about the sh!te that people fill it with.

Hi ed. For the money who do you think liverpool would be best in buying, Mata or Perotti? I think Perotti is a quality player, he's quick, skillful and a good all round passer. What has mata got that perotti hasn't? I personally think Perotti is a much better buy as he will be cheaper. {Ed002's Note - I think Perotti is more likely than Mata.}

perotti is mainly a rw and right footed

mata is mainly a lw and left footed

i would rather see both as they would give us a real balance and dimension we've been missing for years.

players signing are dann, gervinho, mata, adam and believe it or not tim cahill"

Dont think your right about Cahill mate- I am from Australia and he's just been giving interviews about the world cup bid/his career etc. He also said the one club he can never play for is Liverpool. As for the others i hope Mata does sign, and if Aquaman should return, we can trust King Kenny to get the best out of him.

Good Morning Ed's

It appears Aquilani will be heading back to Anfield and will be part of our pre-season set up. With new backroom staff at Juventus it seems they don't see him as part of their plans at any price. I think its going to be a tricky sale, we still owe money on the player and trying to recoup even half of the £20m will be challenging. he was mooted with moves to Napoli, Fiorentina and coincidentally back to Roma. If we sell back to Roma, they will just see the debt is cleared on the player. I cant see any of these possibilities, i do rate him but he just isn't a premier league player. Would fit in well in La Liga but i haven't heard of interest from there. How do you rate the player Ed and have you heard similar stories regarding a transfer?

Adzii (north west) {Ed002's Note - I can certainly dispell any thoughts of the player returning to Roma just to cover the outstanding payment. There is no way at all that is going to happen as the amount outstanding is 5M. Aquilani does not want to return and Liverpool are looking to off load him. The situation is clear.}

--------------------------------------------------

The situation is far from clear. If Juventus dont want the player ad there is no chance of a return to Roma, what will be the potential outcomes? He may have no other choice than to return to liverpool for pre-season as i cant see many teams matching our valuation on the player.

Adzii (north west)

{Ed002's Note - It is very clear that Liverpool want to sell the player and there are options being looked at; but they are not going to let the player go for 5M euros as you suggest.}

01 Jun 2011 10:55:59
"This may give us further info about the Brazilian Kenny stated the club needed"

Are you sure that he wasn't just suggesting that the squad needs a bit of a trim? :-)

"People always think as players we know what's going on with transfers but we are like the supporters"
-Jamie Carragher

Therefore the next time anybody says, "i just asked Gerrard and Reina who we're buying and they winked at me, and said somebody big!", for the love of God, stop lying!
As for the "2 big whoppers" post yesterday, comedy genious my friend; shame most these children on half term holidays didn't realise it was a joke.

YNWA! (Adam)

P.S. I'm on a business trip in London and the buzz here has nothing to do with Liverpool surprisingly.

and NEYMAR for BENFICA (benfica want him not Liverpool... benfica just want money to be able to buy him and them sell him for a profit later.. so they will sell want-away Hulk)
-----------

Slight problem being here that hulk doesn't play for benfica.. He plays for porto. I'm sure they'd love to sell him to raise money for neymar but it's actually not allowed in football, selling other teams' players unfortunately, or we would've sold Rooney years ago!

Adzii (north west) {Ed002's Note - I can certainly dispell any thoughts of the player returning to Roma just to cover the outstanding payment. There is no way at all that is going to happen as the amount outstanding is €5M. Aquilani does not want to return and Liverpool are looking to off load him. The situation is clear.}

Big shocker signing for Liverpool this summer will see Xabi Alonso make a sensational return to Liverpool for a fee of £26m!!!

How can LFC sign alonso for £26 ? Do you consider how old he is ? Wake up lad because we are not going to eat that

01 Jun 2011 10:25:14
Hey, so addicted to this site! Just want to say that I think we'll signal our intent this summer and bring in some big names! Manchester City did it and there no way near as historic as us, yeah they have alot more money but I believe there are a lot of class players who would come to us for who we are and realise we'll be back in the champions league very soon! Just want to know who the Eds think will be the biggest name coming to Anfield? I think Mata will be up there but not our major signing!

Cheers

GazL {Ed002's Note - As I have said, perhaps Mata will be the unexpected signing.}

01 Jun 2011 10:22:06
I wouldn't mine us signing gervinho his talented fast strong and still young and can improve and has a good work rate, his been lille's top performer past season with 14 goals and 8 assist in there league. Think hazard got about 7 goals and 7 assists. So gervinho would certainly improve our team, his way better then cole maxi jova and under kenny he can be a class player.

hey ed quick ?about your opinion of martin skrtle saw him against newcastle and west ham away and he was awful do you think we will sign a cb agger is in jured alot carragher has lost his pace ?? {Ed002's Note - I expect that a centre back will be signed, perhaps Dann. Skrtel is perhaps not the most elegant of centre backs but he has at least been available all season.}

Barcelona are reported going to clear out about 10 players including Bojan and Jeffren. I know we were interested in both previously, would be good to get 1 or preferably both. They would fit the bill of players we want to sign

bojan would be an excellent buy but jeffren is no where near good enough

01 Jun 2011 09:45:39
{Ed002's Note - It looks to me that you have gotten hold of Kenny's list some how. Pato, Aguero, Alexis Sanchez, Neymar, Hulk, Coentrao and a young lad from Scotland all moving to Liverpool this summer. Spot on.}

hahaha ok Ed02 your sarcasm is spot on too... when i heard it i couldn't even THINK why we'd need two strikers anyway.. but this comes from someone who told me about Konchesky signing and then also told me in november that torres will leave in january and all the money will be reinvested..

and NEYMAR for BENFICA (benfica want him not Liverpool... benfica just want money to be able to buy him and them sell him for a profit later.. so they will sell want-away Hulk) - i know this could be hoswash so i'm running it by you to get some feedback.. seems you disagree.. good enough :)

Oh and LFC to sign 4 players including the Scott so three of the ones i mentioned (according to rumors)
.. be nice man
cheers!

{Ed002's NOte - There is a similar chance of Neymar moving to Benfica as there is of him moving to Liverpool. Nada.}

how can benfica sell hulk wen he plays for porto ???

Heard from close people at anfield that liverpool are lining up £20-25 million for lyon LB/LW Michel Bastos

********************************
Bastos wants a move to Italy or Spain:
"I have always tried to improve my game and for that reason the interest from Juventus is very flattering, " Bastos told Tuttosport.

"Would a lack of Champions League football be an issue? We are still talking about Juve here and I still think the time is right for a change."

"I couldn't imagine myself playing for another club in France so my dream is to go to Italy or Spain."

"England and Germany don't interest me at the moment."

I take it thats that rumour put to bed

*******************************

No he told me personally, after all i am his brother leo Bastos!!!

Guys..
Lets be Honest..Young will choose Man Utd over Us and i think its fair enough..let him warm the bench...but 16 mill is a waste of money on him..since we have already wasted a lot of money in the past..
for wingers i would recoken turan, Mata, and Perotti. turan will cost around 11 mill and mata will be for 18 mill annd perorotti for 8 mill..i would be very happy if we get A johnosn...but city wont sell him..
ed what you think both will be suerly better than Downing and young...??

We need a CB and scott Dann is superb.. we should go for him and 8 mill we wshould get him...he is young and good enough to handle the pressure..
Ed whast ur thoughts and do you have any other for this position cheap and PL experienced??

Now Midfield...do we really need someone...lucas has been outstanding..gerrard and meireles is enough for us to cover teyh position..
If aqua goes back..we can bid for Diego...seriously i rate him...lad has quality.
Ed whats ur opinion??/

strikers....
Big rumours..common man..we dont need auguero..becoz suarez and carroll should play most of the games..we need another good young striker..
what about zigic from birmingham..kool tall fit guy..or we did had interest in Ola Tiovonen from PSV..he is quality..and 22..
or if we really wanan spend money..
buy falcao or hulk...both are absolute quality and beter than Benzema or aguero any day..

Ed whats ur say?? {Ed002's Note - It is not simply a case of just going out and buying players - you seem to idnore that other clubs could be interested. Most of the players mentioned have been discussed at length previously, except Zigic. I have no idea if Liverpool have an interest in him.}

ed, don't you think that adel taarbat would be 100 times better than diego, wolfsbarg at the moment as a Liverpool player ? {Ed002's Note - It is impossible to compare players in terms of being "100 times" better for me. I will take your word for it.}

01 Jun 2011 08:52:24
ed why you keep slating aiden mcgeady saying he is not lfc standard. if you can name a winger that is better than him at lfc in last 20 years you, ll do well. go to youtube watch him in 2011 this boy is the buisness and i would rate him higher than young and downing. {Ed002's Note - Ed's are allowed their own opinions you know.}

ins-
cissokho/izaguirre/enrique
dann/jones/sakho
marveaux
adam/maccarthy/matuidi
mata
perotti/payet/downing
elia/benzema/gervinho

outs-
el zhar
degan
aquilani
poulsen
cole
ngog
jovanovic
kyrgiakos
konchesky

maybe outs/loans-
insua
pacheco
ayala
eccleston
mendy
mavinga
darby
ince
irwin
jones

i think most of the outs and maybe outs/loans would be penciled in. not including a keeper the squad could do with up to 7 players if 10-15 go. theres also next window and summer to replace cara and gerrad and tweek the squad, so when kk said 22 possible ins and outs it could go close.

Messi to liverpool this summer?
-----------------------------------------
As I work both in a bakery nearby Camp Nou AND part-time at albert's pub by Anfield, I've also heard this and can confirm it FACT. Messi and Iniesta will go to liverpool in a player exchange which sends Poulsen and N'Gog the other way FACT!

LFC need quality and not quantity. Four or five top world class players will cost at least 100 million. Have we got the cash? Selling all the dead wood we have will lower the 100 million by say 30 million the owners will have to come to the party with at least 70 million.
Lots of players have been mentioned few quality or world beaters. We just have to wait and leave it to the experts to handle. I would love to see our scouts getting players like man u hernanze, that's good business at 6 million. if we can get someone at that kind of money than i would say we understand the market well.
good luck guys lets hope this window drives us to the top, its been a long wait.

1. i remember 1 of the eds saying that we need charlie adam because we need a deep passing role, someone like alonso, then who will he replace in the starting 11? im guessing most probably it will be lucas, kinda sad to see our player of the season get replaced.. charlie adam is also a hard tackler from what ive seen. i dont see any other midfielder he can replace in the team. what are your views ed?

2. what kind of midfielder is James McCarthy? when i heard his name i told my friends and they said he was good, but ive never really seen him myself.

3. {Ed013's Note - rumours say we are looking at aguero and if we don't get him we will go for benzema}
been a Liverpool fan since i was a small boy (owen times) and been aguero's fan when he was said to be the next maradona (then suddenly messi burst out lol) i actually think we can grab aguero, we're still liverpool after all and like KK i want players who want to play for Liverpool, not for the money, if he does come i hope its for the shirt. top of the table or bottom of the table Liverpool will still be my team.

4. ed do u mind giving a list of players u think might be on their way out (or told to find a new club).

thanks
Kaizer {Ed002's Note - (1) If Lucas stays he will play. (2) We don't have the time to subjectively describe individual players. (3) OK. (4) It would be guess work to go bbeyond the obvious ones suvh as Jovaovic.}

incase some people still believe agueros real madrid bound then your wrong, aguero will not be sold to real madrid by atletico madrid, the 2 presidents have agreed that real madrid will not bid for aguero he has asked the real president to live up to his agreement to not be hostile and he has agreed.....the only club so far thats asked about him is juventus, and juventus are in the same position as we are, no european football, and i think we could have the upper hand on juventus, as he is a liverpool fan and he would prefer england over italy..we would have problems tho if barca, inter, ac milan, man city, chelsea, man united all bid too lol which will probably be likely from city, chelsea and possibly inter and ac milan, i cant see barca and united bidding tho cos i dont think hes the position they are looking to buy for specially for the price he will cost

01 Jun 2011 03:58:25
Liverpool are most interested in bringing McCarthy to our club rather than Adam. McCarthy is only 20 years old and is Irish. He is a central midfielder and has scored 5 goals in 50 odd appearances. He has much more time to improve and settle in than Adam would and he isn't as wasteful as Adam either. I think he would be a great selection for our squad. I think 8 million would be a good amount to pay for his services. In other news Liverpool have contacted Diego Perotti's football team Seville and has apparently upped his offer by about 1.5 million. Liverpool are battling with Juventus to secure him and if Liverpool beat Juventus to Perotti then Aquilani's price may be lowered for Juventus to buy.

whats him being irish got to do with anything? And 1 goal every 10 games is not overly impressive!! Fail to see what all the fuss is about.

I think there's some truth in people saying "Adam a done deal" and "Kenny is interested in Barton". But, I guess they mixed and confused it up a bit. I think what might be true is that Kenny is interested in ADAM BARTON of Preston, and it's a done deal. Just my opinion, I cant back it up.

In my opinion Liverpool can get a player like aguero but his wages and the lack of European football may put both parties off. If aguero or some other striker does move to Madrid do you think benzema would come to Liverpool ed? I think he would be more likely {Ed013's Note - It would take a lot of persuading to get these players to come to Liverpool}

we persuaded reina who was sure to leave. and i don't think we are just saying what he wants to hear because hes had enough of that under that last owners.

01 Jun 2011 02:42:45
many of these players stating they want CL are players that havent played CL for a while.
Now all of a sudden they cant possibly play a season without it, i say p*ss em off and go for real players that see a challenge and want to improve.

01 Jun 2011 02:04:48
I think that having the likes of dalglish at the club, having dedicated and enthuastic owners, and Liverpool looking like they're on the up and therefore being able to offer Europe in the next couple of seasons is persuasive enough. If they have any sense then these players will see this and want to be a part of it. And Liverpool is now a place where they can enjoy their football too. I think Liverpool have a great chance of signing players they show interest in as long as they do it the right way {Ed013's Note - Well said mate this is true but a lot of players are based on money and i don't think the owners want to pay massive wages}

hi ed correct me if im wrong but i read somewhere the owners were willing to pay top wages but only for class players is this still the case do you think??

lfcscott {Ed013's note - they may have but that was my opinion. plus they have already said they need to lower the wage bill}

i thought they wanted to lower the wage bill with regard to the c**p we currently have on our books but wouldnt of mined so much had we of had a really strong team/squad.

lfcscott {Ed013's note - i dont think players will take a pay cut players like cole so they will need to be offloaded which could prove to be difficult}

{Ed013's Note - It would take a lot of persuading to get these players to come to Liverpool}

It would take a massive amount of persuading but I think Kenny Dalglish can sell a club like no other. I don't think we'll get Aguero but possibly couple quality players like Benzema, Mata.

Players who need a lot of persuading to come to Liverpool are not the right kind of player to play for Liverpool and we are better off without them. We need players like Suarez and Kuyt who will fight for the shirt not want to know how much they can get. {Ed013's note - very true well said}

01 Jun 2011 01:32:10
All of this talk of we cannot persuade players because we do not have europe. Personally I only want players who want to be part of the team and join the team cause they know we are on the way up.

Gervinho wanting to join a CL team? For me what is more impressive is a player up for a challenge to go with opportunity to say you were part of getting where you want to be. Not mercing yourself out into a team you did nothing to get to.

Thats the Liverpool way, and spending 20 more to persuade one to give us a chance can fornicate right off. We will still get talent that appreciates what they are entering. See Suarez. May not be his dream start to this team, but he had the sack to fight it to the finish and help put us where we are now.

Mata to Liverpool cause he appreciates opportunity and challenge.

Are schools out for summer already??????? The amount of carp on here from so called fans ripping the British transfer signing. As someone earlier said, AC didnt set the price. KK is the one who paid it. Shearer is the one who scouted him for KK. So, one of the greatest English strikers recommended him th one of the worlds best ever strikers and the price was paid. Along comes a bunch of snot nosed kids with there playstation game and they rip on AC, KK and our club. AC has 6 appearances and 2 goals vs Judas with 18 appearances and 1 goal. Put down your game controllers and spend your time reading the archives of what makes LFC THE BEST CLUB in the world. Andy Carroll will score plenty of goals for Liverpool and will give us some steel against some of the more rugged teams in the EPL. He is an old school No. 9. Now kids go look up what that is, and don't come back until you understand the definition of a supporter, a LFC supporter and a Kopite

Ed/fellow readers.

we are potentially spending £20 mil+ for Mata, brilliant winger/attacking forward i give you that, but for possible £10-14Mil we could sign Adam Johnson??? who is prem proven. just look at Silva for City came with a big rep over in Spain but not settled as well, Adam and Downing would be an awesome combination for a bit more than what Mata cost alone. then for the defence Dann and Jones CB and L Baines to cover the left back we could give Everton Konchesky as well. your thoughts always appreciated. at least i haven't said we are signing Hazard Neymar Aguerro.........

Is it just me or does anyone else personally think Silva is quality and alongside Tevez is probably the main reason why City are playing CL next season?(Maybe throw De Jong in there aswell, possibly Hart, Oh crap im running out of space ha). Im a red through n through and i am completely optimistic about possible signings for next season and the season itself cant come quick enough. patience is a virtue guys and gals, in kenny we trust! I really do believe we will sign some proven quality players which will help us along our journey next year, i remember at the height of Those who shant be named tenure and saying to my work mate not to worry and that the club would be sold(we did leave it a little late and by the skins of our teeth) and everything would work out, we are Liverpool, I obviously never knew who would come in, just knew that if you look at things with common sense that generally 2 n 2 equal 4. Ive just got that same feeling with KK back and although obviously every year I believe we will challenge for the league have neevr been so confident of it than now, and thats all down to 1 man!!!
PS ill give you Adam Johnson but think your estimate is very much on the low side, City dont ned to sell, even if he wants a move, would take a larger bid than 10 - 14 million in my opinion, which I think w would be prepard to pay i he was to become available

Can you please stop stating that mata's signing is delayed due to under 21 commitments he is 23 and therfore to old DOH! d.o.b 28/4/1988, go check it for yourself!!

It does not make a difference what the player is now as long as he was under-age whenever the qualifying campaign began - hence why Andy Carroll was going to be considered for England.

01 Jun 2011 00:09:53

Before you have a pop at other people check your facts people are having a go at a few of the eds lately regarding this you dont have to be under 21 to play for the u21s they are allowed i think 2 players over the age of 21 that is why Carrol was called up originally he is not 21 that is why Carragher was still captain at the age of 23 earning more caps then any other England u21 these are the facts and you need to get yours right before you have a go.

You can have every player in the squad over 21 if they were if they were under 21 at the start of the qualifiers. That is why Carroll would of been aloud to play. Some teams will have a few 23yr olds playin. Its the olympics with the rule of 2 players over the age limit
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------If you don't know, just admit and get on with it. Every one here knows mata will be participating on the tournament

Why does everyone seem to think that Liverpool have less chance than Spurs/ManC of signing big-name players? ManC and Spurs may be above us in the table, and therefore dip their toes into european football, but the fact is Liverpool are a massive club compared to both of these teams, and while they have had, or will have had one season of Champions League football each, we have won it five times, and will be back there soon enough. We have had two bad seasons, but things are looking up with KK and that is clear to see for everyone, including potential targets. Signing players of high-calibre will prove this and the two January signings were the start of things to come and a message of intent that people seem to forget about. Suarez and Carroll clearly didn't sign up for Champions League but to play for the greatest club in the world. With regards to Chelsea, players would only move there for a quick glory fix and a large sum of money, especially when the downfall of the Roman Empire has begun. Scum are a boring team, and Arsenal don't even buy any players do they?! We have as much chance as anybody else of signing the best players. Rant over!

Irrespective of what you think you know, Mata IS in the under 21 squad, which was announced last week by Luis Milla.
Go check it out.
