Amazing watch! Maybe there's a career for Migs after all. Car advertising! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘.

Thanks for the reply EDD'S, were is Ian Ayere when you need him, normally he's at the front with his megaphone telling everyone it's nonsense, also could this take-over have something to do with him stepping down at the end of the season, also the quick turnaround in the reduced pricing of tickets for next season, they could be having an input already. if any of the EDD'S are going the races next week, any tips for the GN would be welcome.

Well Reds,

With the season conclusion on the horizon and the majority and with majority of our squad fit a strong run in from here will propel us to a strong finish. As soon as the season concludes we will be introducing Joel Matip and Marko Grujic as well as offloading the players that Jurgen Klopp deems surplus and being replaced by quality reinforcements. We all know our weaknesses but let's focus on our strengths:
Dejan Lovren who has improved vastly playing under JK and compliments Mamadou Sakho perfectly
Nathaniel Clyne is more than the Glen Johnson clone that I thought he was and adds solidity to our defence and is a good passer
Jon Flanagan has recpuerated from his career threatening injury and is showing why we have given him a new contract
Lucas Leiva has been his usual self by quietly organising our team and performed excellently in defence
Emre Can is adding consistency to his performances
James Milner has proved his adaptability and has played all across the park during his short spell with us so far and has scored some vital goals
Adam Lallana has come into his own recently and has been taking more shots and has both goals and assists to show for his efforts
Phil Coutinho as amazing to watch as ever and is vital to our plans going forward
Roberto Firmino is proving why we paid so much money for him and has been consistently our best player under JK
Divock Origi has adapted well to the BPL and has shown the qualities we know he possesses
Daniel Sturridge is still our main goal threat and one of the best finishes in the world

Other honourable mentions go to Kolo Toure, Joe Gomez, Brad Smith, Kevin Stewart and Danny Ings.

Great to finally see some positive post coming in.

01 Apr 2016 19:06:32
On this site has to be an april fools ๐Ÿ˜‚.

01 Apr 2016 20:35:50
Scouse pride that post was bang on mate. Really positive. Bravo mate ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘.

01 Apr 2016 22:38:45
Great post, mScouse. On point.

02 Apr 2016 00:57:06
Sorry to put a downer on this post - but how easy do we think it is going to be to get rid of players that no one else wants - or doesn't want at the price we are expecting - this really might stop some of the incomings if we can't move players on!

02 Apr 2016 15:50:00
Henderson not play for us anymore?

Moreno and Mignolet ignored for obvious reasons.

01 Apr 2016 11:10:38
This is the rumour I've heard this morning - Could be something to do with April 1st but please don't shoot the messenger!

LFC have produced a new DVD. It's a true story about your average every day journeyman, who signs for Liverpool FC as a defender, played as a striker and then quite literally disappeared as quickly as he arrived - The Steven Caulker Mysteries is available in all good DVD retailers now apparently. Also hear that LFC have sent a montage of his clips to ITV's You've Been Framed in the hope of a ยฃ250 appearance fee. Oh the irony.

Got to be an April Fools joke ;)

01 Apr 2016 10:09:57
Haha you're not getting me with these April fools jokes.

01 Apr 2016 10:55:45
I wish Cameron being prime minestery was an April fools choke. He doesn't give a toss for working class people trust me I work on a blast furnace ( steelworker ) I'm absolutely bricking it lol.

01 Apr 2016 09:37:12
Yes! Apparently that also means he wouldn't be leading the line in the Euros. Pretty sure that would have kissed him off.

01 Apr 2016 11:45:33
Hope you get through unscathed hmasson. I have a lot of friends in and around Corby who are looking at losing their jobs at Tata. Government has billions to bail out the corrupt banks, other EU countries and to host bbq's on expenses; but they can't be asked to rescue an industry that so many working class heros rely on. Sad day to be a British Engineer.

01 Apr 2016 12:03:21
Actually it was the Labour government led by Mr Gordon Brown which gave billions to prop up failing banks.

01 Apr 2016 13:15:21
Urm how's this gone from sturridge to Gordon brown?!

01 Apr 2016 13:37:17
Hmasson you not at the hartlepool plant are you?

01 Apr 2016 15:34:21
I live just down road from Hartlepool plant.

01 Apr 2016 17:43:05
Hmasson2, I'm ignorant of the UK steel industry and I'd be interested to hear your thoughts. It would be great if you posted the situation as you see it on the politics page.

01 Apr 2016 18:18:35
My thoughts are I don't blame tata at all they have invested loads of money in the steel industry but where other European government s have helped their own countries our government has blatantly turned a blind eye to what's going on because they are walking hand in hand with china who are dumping cheep steel and they don't want to upset china. Our government has been caught out now due to all the publicity that's going on. And are bricking it themselves now because all can see what they have been up to.

01 Apr 2016 18:56:58
Baz I literally live a stone throw away in hartlepool from it can hear the banging on a night . nice to find a teesside scouse!

01 Apr 2016 19:20:55
I'm trying hard to work out the link between Danny Sturridge, China, the British government and Teeside. I'm also trying to find the remote control for the cable and I can't find that either.

01 Apr 2016 19:28:14
I think it went a wee bit off topic haha.

01 Apr 2016 23:21:13
You do know the government can't help the industry as its dealt with by the EU.
The banks were saved because it was a last resort; unfortunatly steel doesn't end with tata.
I'm a steel fabricator btw.

02 Apr 2016 07:46:26
They can help benny, there are ways to help subsidise the industry to make british steel more competitive. The tories are all about market forces and leaving it up to the markets, but when the market is heavily skewed against u the government should totally safeguard the livlihoods of hard working men and women who contribute to this countries gdp. Jobs are not readily available in the ne like they seem to be in london and towns that rely on an industry will suffer leading to other social problems.

02 Apr 2016 09:18:33
I get all that, but they physically can't step in to help due to eu law.
They can appeal to the eu but it only takes one member to say no. Which they would because A, we are the U. K. And B, why wouldn't other countries want less competition in the industry.
British steel is better quality than the likes of China with its iron content, but I'm afraid it costs too much to produce. Our plants will shut down and thousands will be out of work, it's inevitable. Then everyone will be blaming the Torries for the sector failing, Blame the Eu for not allowing our government to help our own people ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป.

02 Apr 2016 09:49:03
Barnzy the NE is already on its arse before Tata decided to shut down probarly even before SSI aswell . I'm a welder myself and I'm having to go back to night school and get a different trade because unfortunately it is only going to get worse welding used to be a skilled job with a very decent wage now when looking for work your looking at 8 pound an hour and I'm sorry but if companies think I'm going to sweat my arse for 10 hours a day for just for over minimum wage they are highly mistaken. now I'm not blaming the government I won't even blame the polish coming over and killing welding by doing it 50% cheaper but 70% worse than a lad who's done 4 to 5 years training on the job but something has got to give the north east used to be booming with docks ect now it's on its knees and it's a shame it really is.

02 Apr 2016 10:29:34
Why are you not blaming the government for the systematic dismantling of our major industries and public services?
It is clearly the fault of a succession of politicians from both major parties, this current shower seem to be speeding up the process with glee.

02 Apr 2016 11:09:05
To be fairly honest ron I don't know why I'm not blaming the government to be honest because since the current government come in there has been a even quicker decline. why is it that the working man get the flack off all this though the like of the politicians and the bankers who caused this spiral should take it yet the rich get rich while the poor scrape enough money together to pay the bills and eat.

02 Apr 2016 12:04:20
Bankers rule the politicians and the politicians rule the electorate.

31 Mar 2016 23:34:04
Hi Eds,

May be a tricky question and wasn't too sure where else to post this as it doesn't apply to any club, but do you think social media had a positive/ negative impact on football?

Believable1 Unbelievable7

{Ed001's Note - both for me, mostly negative because it is misused to such a degree by the players.}

01 Apr 2016 08:36:07
I would have to disagree somewhat with your view Ed001. Being a supporter of LFC since the mid 70's, my support was distant and gradually diminishing. My interest was always fueled only by newspapers, football magazines and the odd televised game here and there (I have never lived in England, never seen LFC play live) . And then 5-6 years ago I discovered your website and goal. com, and frankly, my support and interest can correctly be called a daily obsession. Not just in LFC but football in general. So my argument is that social media is probably one of the key factors in reviving global interest in the game simply because it brings supporters of the game into contact, and accentuates communications and eventually support. Yes, of course people abuse it. Players, coaches, managers, owners and even the fans use social media for their own purposes sometimes. But from a distant and very general view, I really feel it has increased interest in the game and been mostly very positive.

{Ed001's Note - that's why I said both. I never said a proportion of each, just that both apply. It will vary from person to person as to how much it applies to which. Some people will be put off more by the abuses of social media, others will not even notice them.}

01 Apr 2016 12:42:45
We wouldn't hear from #Wonderdog Sparky, the Nose and Kirikou without social media ๐Ÿ˜„.

01 Apr 2016 23:59:11
Cheers Ed001 for the response. I agree it can be good and bad, and there have been a lot of bad instances. For exampple Berahino sticks to mind. It's not ideal when footballers families get involved too. I think Lovrens wife had a rant last year because he wasn't (rightfully) being started at the time after poor performances.

{Ed001's Note - exactly. Keep the players off it and things would be much better.}

01 Apr 2016 00:50:38
Hey Ed, seen it reported in the Express that we could be subject to a takeover bid from the middle east come the summer and wondered if you could shed any light on the situation? cheers.

Believable0 Unbelievable7

{Ed002's Note - I can't I am afraid.}

01 Apr 2016 09:39:17
Is that not having any information or having information that you can't tell?

{Ed002's Note - I know nothing of any takeover, sorry RD.}

31 Mar 2016 23:34:04
Hi Eds,

May be a tricky question and wasn't too sure where else to post this as it doesn't apply to any club, but do you think social media had a positive/ negative impact on football?

Believable1 Unbelievable6

{Ed002's Note - In some ways yes as it allows information to be shared quickly. In other ways it can be quite bad with players saying things which are inappropriate and there being a lot of misinformation.}

02 Apr 2016 00:01:07
Totally agree there Ed002.

01 Apr 2016 07:29:03
My source is solid and we are going be taken over by the middle eastern group called the al-ballerina-das-volks-dmitri-petro-nier ujbek-ur-billygates-am-nike-ul-mastaf.
Congrats to all fellow fans and eds001. FSG has to sell the club for 1$ because henry lost a bet at some LA casino.

in further news a enrique offtered 600,000 $ a week for retaining his insta and twitter services. the new owners believe he plays an important role in the global marketing and image of the club.

Eds
BBC gossip have it we are subject to middle eastern takeover.

Take it that's rubbish as it would have been on here first?

Believable1 Unbelievable3

{Ed001's Note - I am not sure what BBC gossip is, but my understanding is that they just report 'stories' from the papers in it. It is difficult to be sure with this kind of thing, everyone involved would be under an NDA. There is interest out here, but I know nothing of any 'advanced talks' as it has been referred to. Due to the NDAs, it would be impossible to prove or disprove conclusively, so it is an easy story to make up and spread, which makes me suspicious whenever I do hear stories like this.}

01 Apr 2016 07:20:44
Come on people stop being so gullible on the 1st April.

01 Apr 2016 00:38:47
Any truth in the rumours that talks are at a advanced stage for a middle Eastern takeover?

Believable0 Unbelievable6

01 Apr 2016 06:06:07
Depends if those talks take place on april 1st or not.

{Ed001's Note - good point, when were the talks reported? I never noticed the date until now.}

01 Apr 2016 07:11:32
Tabloid rag Ed.

01 Apr 2016 18:07:41
I seen it Wednesday or Thursday night, it was being reported by metro.

31 Mar 2016 23:01:09
It loathes me to say this but Buttercup (Eds 001) has been vindicated about Skirtl. For as long as I can remember now Eds 001 has been deriding Skirtels game but the majority of us thought he was being over zealous in his criticism. Well Skirtel may have just cost us a champions league place after his horror show against Southampton. Taxi for one me thinks!

Believable2 Unbelievable4

01 Apr 2016 06:06:58
Ahilst i agree that skrtle is poor, it is a bit far-fetched to say he's cost us a CL spot based on what happened at southampton.

01 Apr 2016 06:43:43
So Skrtel cost us the CL place next season? Lol.

01 Apr 2016 12:43:58
We'll be in the CL next season ๐Ÿ˜Ž.

31 Mar 2016 22:32:35
Ed 01. Can't find your players fitness comment. Pls direct?!

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - ?}

31 Mar 2016 21:59:20
Ed001 thoughts on dr ryland morgans who's left today was he pushed or did he jump? Was the blame for the hamstrings and other fitness issues being thrown at his door?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - I don't know off the top of my head, he was part of the previous regime, so probably did not enjoy the different demands placed on him. He was expected to get the players fit, unlike the work he did under Rodgers, when they were barely half fit most of the time, and was clearly struggling. It is no surprise that he is going, really, just the timing that is the surprise.}

31 Mar 2016 23:22:42
Any truth about FSG in advanced sale talk with Middle East group?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - Is that the Alp-ORF Oils Group thing?}

01 Apr 2016 02:16:46
It is I think

Huge returns posted in financial year ending April 2015 so expect the same this year too.

01 Apr 2016 03:20:37
seems to be earning a lot from liverpool fans in the month of April that it has earned its own slot in the notes to their financial statements for 3 years in a row.

01 Apr 2016 07:26:33
Alp-orf oils group. very good ed.

01 Apr 2016 08:25:42
Their ceo is Lirpa Loof, and the MD is April Fuller. maybe.
