Use our rumours form to send us liverpool transfer rumours.

19 Jun 2011 23:40:59
All you fanboys who keep posting stuff about Arda Turan in an attempt to make the transfer happen drive me insane WE ARE NOT SIGNING HIM.

Also you havnt just seen him in your local chippy. Only place you'll be seeing him is in your wet dreams.

Now can we have some realistic rumours at least?

ed if in a few weeks mata signs for us what will be your reaction?DORSET RED {Ed001's Note - I won't have time for a reaction, I will probably be too busy editing all the whinges about overpriced foreigners and how we should buy English players ;o)}

Things are beginning to look decidedly gloomy hen Sylvaine Marvueux prefers Necastle over Liverpool and our No. 1 target is Charlie Adam. hat started out to be a transfer indo of hope is becoming one of desperation. Mata's performances at the Euro 21's has also placed him as a class above Liverpool. Roll on another season of mediocrity.

19 Jun 2011 23:26:24
Liverpool was heavily linked with EDEN HAZARD and he openly said he wasnt interested in joining liverpool so instead of wasting time tryin convince him that liverpool is the right team to join.
I would find a alternative and look no further than ERIK LAMELA practically there attributes are bout same QUICK, SKILLFUL, EYE FOR GOAL AND A GREAT TEAM PLAYER also FSG'S idea of an investment in young talent.

Ed,
How do you put up with some people? They complain when there are no signings and when we do purchase a player they complain about the player signed! Good luck for the rest of the Summer Ed(s), try not to tear too much of your hair out (if any of you have any left after January ;)).
Thanks
Glov3z the Red {Ed001's Note - don't! I am looking forward to September when they will just whine because we aren't 15 points clear after the first few games.}

Hey Ed(s)...wanted your thoughts on the following:

With all the potential high-calibre signings ManCity are likely to do, now they've got CL's football and you'd presume they're going to push for EPL, do you thinks it's wishful thinking that we'll go after Adam Johnson, given the FSG transfer policy. Plus, the figures people are quoting (i.e. £21m+), to me, seem silly. Surely we can get him for less than that...City have wages to drop, books to level (yes, even City have to...), and not too mention players to keep happy. I'd imagine if they do spend, A Johnson wouldn't stay there just to train and warm the bench (if even selected!).

Would appreciate your thoughts...rumours page please too. Peace!

REDLuke {Ed001's Note - Mancini is not too happy with him and would like to replace him and get rid. But I fail to see why they would sell on the cheap? It will be hard enough convincing them to sell to a rival.}

since NESV have come in we have signed Carroll, Suarez and Henderson.
Firstly, they are aged 22, 24 and 21, respectively.
We also bid for Phil Jones - 19.
Secondly three of the above are English. Damien Comolli said that LFC would choose English over foregin talent, provided the comparable players are of equal quality.
Thus i would expect the transfer of players such as A. Johnson to be more accurate, (provided man city buy sanhcez etc, and are willing to sell).
On this basis, i expect that LFC are after C.Adam - 25, A.Young - 25 (although i expect man u will get him), L.Baines - 26 (although everton are unlikely to sell to us)

Raheem Sterling, what a goal and what a performance.

19 Jun 2011 22:54:17
I would love to see us sign adam and n'zog but I just hope liverpool break the bank for mata! I feel like the board dont want to be held to ransom, which I agree with but we need to push the boat out for him! We seem to be starting to think we're a mid table team! I have faith in the owners and kk, dc I still have my doubts (i hope to be proved wrong)! We need that 1 world class player! Ive no rumors or inside info, I just hope we dont bow out at some of the askin prices/wages! Ed's any news on any targets other than adam? {Ed001's Note - only that it is not money that is stopping us signing Mata right now, so please just forget about him until he has finished in the U21s, then things can happen there.}

So lets get this straight, your idea is throw a shed load money at it no matter what. FSG are showing common sense, yes they will spend big but this will be balanced by selling players in order to absorb the costs involved. It's simple theory really, spending big but keeping the costs of doing so down. I'd rather KK have a net spend of 20 million than chucking out 150 million essentially on that huge spending means instant success! A small bit of realism is needed, spend wisely, KK will bring in quality players that I have no doubt.
In relation to new/refurb stadium, this all part of the rebuilding process. By gaining champs league this will increase revenue that can ploughed back into the club in terms of transfer budgets and investing in the stadium.
I think some fans need to realize that yes FSG will invest money but won't do so stupidly , it is a business after all. United didn't become worth 1.2 billion over night, they won the league , rebuilt the stadium and added on etc.

Rebel_Red

------------------------------------------------

Firstly, you say KK will bring in quality players? Have I missed something but I don't see any quality players scrambling to get to Anfiled.

Secondly, you mention the ground refurb/ rebuild but associate Champions league football in the same context. This is my point, if we don't spend heavily now, we won't get champions league football and like these pyramid sale scams, the system comes tumbling down. So in order to reach phase one of the plan and get champions league football in order to enhance revenues to assist in financing a new stadium a significant investment in players is required. Luckily for FSG we seem to have an acadamy system that should produce at least 3-4 players capable of first team slots in the forthcoming 3-4 years. So they need to spend now not just for short term success but to get the ball rolling.

Thirdly, your're right Utd didn't become worth £1.2 billion over night but their journey in getting there has involved regular British transfer record signings from as early as Bryan Robson. These signings were brought in to fit around a core of talent in Giggs, Neville 1 and 2, Butt, Scoles and Beckham. We have it coming through in Kelly, Flannagan, Coady, Sterling, Morgan and Robisnson. FSG need to pay the bucks for a good centre half, left back and two wingers. They need to stop dithering and act swiftly.

Have you just seen that Raheem Sterling goal ?- who needs Mata or anyone - the 17 year old is pure class - well done son - are you watching Kenny?

i seen charlie adam last night in town, i told him to hurry up and sign for liverpool as i walked past and he just put his thumb up

19 Jun 2011 22:37:14
{Ed001's Note - the same Jones that ballsed up to allow the Czechs to equalise? That Jones? This kind of whining is boring now, Kenny is in charge of signing players, not Comolli.}

-------------------------------------------------

How can Kenny be in charge when a transfer target has to go through the Moneyball/ sabermetrics authorisation system. I'd say Kenny was a million miles from being in charge and in no doubt 10 years from now we'll read how frustrated he was with it all in his next autobiography. {Ed001's Note - you have no idea what you are talking about whatsoever.}

U21 over for England so I think we can expect to see some transfers rounded up after that as alot of players would have been waiting for it to end.

Liverpool and Valencia are going to have a friendly August 6th @ anfield. Ed last time we had a big euro friendly was against Athletico Madrid after we bought torres. I have no sources and don't pretend to. But could this friendly have been put into place as part of a deal for Mata?

He played well today getting 2 goals for Spain U21. Also all the nzogbia rumours are false just some person on twitter started that rumour while posing as a football agent.

Remember take all the rumours with a pinch of salt.

I. {Ed001's Note - impossible to say, we have friendlies with clubs every pre-season that are completely unrelated to signings.}

FSG global marketing masters.

Just seen a document regarding the 5year PR and marketing campaign which will take the Liverpool brand to the top of global sports franchises.

The principle owners John Henry, Tom Werner, Oprah Winfrey and Will Self met in Miami last month to finalise the plan.

Let me summarise...
1 NEW KIT DESIGN SIMILAR TO NFL MADE BY WARRIORS(OWNED BY WERNER WHO WROTE AND DIRECTED THE WARRIORS MOVIE IN THE 80S)

2 NEW STADIUM WHICH WILL BE THE "ECHO DOME" AND OPENED WITH A CONCERT OF TOP SCOUSE BANDS LIKE THE LAS AND THE SMITHS BUT HEADLINED BY A REUNITED BEATLES

3 "WILL", A HOLLYWOOD BLOCKBUSTER BASED ON JAY SPEARINGS FICTIONAL CHILDHOOD

4 A BOLLYWOOD MUSICAL BASED ON 2006 ISTANBUL FINAL TO PENETRATE THE MASSIVE INDIAN MARKET

5 UK RESTURANT CHAIN BASED ON LFC CALLED "KOP OF THE TABLE"

6 WE WILL ALSO ATTEMPT TO HAVE MORE HOLLYWOOD STARS WEAR LFC GEAR SO FAR SNOOPY DOG AND SAMMUAL L JACKSON, NEGOTIATIONS ARE ONGOING TO SEE BOND SPORT THE SHIRT IN THE MUCH DELAYED "TOMMOROW IS NOT TODAY" PROJECT

7 FURTHER DEVELOPMENT OF "MONEY BALLZ" AND POSSIBLE RELAUNCH OF THE 80S BOARD GAME BUT WITH LFC BRANDING AND RED NOT SILVER BALLS

Over the next year we will see many of these iniatives take root it is greatly encouraging that we are looking at every angle to improve the club.
I feel with Henry and Winfrey we have wealtlhy and very savy owners.

Can people please stop going on about paying £18-£20 million for Jordan Henderson.It was a undisclosed fee.Only Liverpool, Sunderland and the player know how much was paid.And to judge him on a european U21 tournament cop on.From what i watched its Pearce's fault he has not got a clue.Ed will you tell people to stop posting false transfer fees just to be dramatic.(RD.RED) {Ed001's Note - people are far too busy whining about anything they can find to whine about to actually listen mate.}

Zapata says he will join to Liverpool and the fee is in the region of 15million, my friend is Sammy Lees cousin and he told me that he will travel to Melwood when the foreign transfer window opens

Evening all,

I'd be glad if we got n'zogbia. He's got pace, a few tricks, and can deliver a cross.

He causes other PL teams problems whether he's on the left or right.

Admittedly he's not world class, but xabi wasn't when we bought him and there were plenty of sceptics when we broke our transfer record for Torres.

I would much rather we were a club that bought low and sold high than spend millions on players who might not be worth it (kaka to Madrid and robinho to citeh spring to mind).

I trust dalglish, he's forgotten more about playing for Liverpool than any of us will ever know. If he's saying n'zogbia is good enough then that'll do me.

Hello to ED'S and al liverpool fc supporters....ill start by saying that this site is awesome and ive been hooked on it ever since i found it :) on the other hand its rather stressful reading absolute rubbish that people send in for example Xabi Alonso coming back etc etc. Can we not have a page for good solid comments which state the truth or at least speculataion that stands a chance of becoming the truth?

As for transfers i have to say that the amount of money that we are paying for home grown or english/british based players is quite embarassing and were getting too carried away with it....why on earth are we talking about purchasing the likes of Connor Wickham and Charlie Adam for more or less a combined fee of around 22mil? when last year for the same price we could have bought Ozil and van der vaart and Bojan for about the same total? We NEED to be looking at putting in an offer for Bojan is Roma have had a bid accepted for 9 mil!

I know the players we are buying are alot about the future of our club but every year we tend to keep our big name players by promising to buy big name singings in the summer. Yes we bought henderson for 20 mil but watching the match tonight against the Czech's he looked nowhere near the standard of what we already have at the club. Andy Carroll is another example of an over priced player as he's not up to the standards of our club or half of the money we paid.

On the other hand even though we only have an outside chance of securing Mata as our "Marquee" signing tonight he looked yet again awesome and definitely the type of player i would love at the club to take us into the champions league placings next season.

And for the person who said that Luis suarez wont be around at liverpool for very long is a complete joke....He loves life on merseyside and although his play is outstanding he wont be breaking into the barcelona team at any point in his career!

Adam Johnson seems like he would be a good buy and the only worthwhile british signing but again being valued at 15-20mil is way over priced!

Gary Cahill could be the mna to succeed JC!

Lets hope KK and DC have got something special planned for the rest of our summer!

I for one wouldn't mind if the rumours linking us to NZOGBIA are true.. As I was at our game away at Wigan last season when we scored in the first 5 mins and from then on Wigan dominated the game and deserved there equaliser and we ended up lucky to come away with a 1-1.
Reason Nzogbia ran us ragged and turned in a great performance, the crowd up at Wigan love him.
He's still only young with plenty of experience, beats his man and gets down the line ( instead of coming inside all the time) and has also got an eye for goal.
So rumours could be right as he ticks a lot of boxes where LFC and Kenny are concerned.

im a worried red, i must be missing something with henderson, in 3 u21 games hes failed to make a tackle his passing is awful, no way on this earth is he worth 20 mil, 5 tops and thats a risk! if henderson is 20 whats wilshere 50-60mil? its the worst signing ive seen, hope im wrong but guessing im rite!! you can see why he got dropped half way through last seaon by bruce!

good news is spearing is looking a top player i know its just the kids hes playing but you can see hes class, he looks like a full pro playing a junior team, lets hope he puts a bit more muscle on quick so he can start getting some minutes for us!

19 Jun 2011 21:55:07
Given Mata's continuing ridiculous performance at the U21s and the extra competition it will bring, I think it's safe to say that if we get him, it will be a tremendous coup. I am therefore not optimistic in any way about it, and neither should be any of you.

19 Jun 2011 21:49:25
hopefully tonight was a wake up call to KK & DC. its good to buy english but we need to sign players across the globe with amazing potencial. For Example :

- Eden Hazard ( Belgium )
- Erik Lamela ( Argentina )
- Steven Jovetic ( Montenegro )
- Antonine Griezman ( France )
- Jeffren Suarez ( Spain )

So the point i am trying to make is that Man Utd took a risk on Ronaldo and it payed off. and they are so many examples across the globe. so we need to take a risk on some these young, Wingers above.

Edd could i get ur view on this statement and on our chances of signing these players.

Holy crap england u21's are rubbish. Cant really say anything about henderson as stuart pearce is a crap coach and doesnt play him properly

19 Jun 2011 21:38:01
OK FSG, lets look to buy young British talent. Have you been watching the U21 European Championships? There is none? We missed out on the only half decent bit of talent in Jones to our bitter rivals. they snubbed henderson after scouting him before January. What was it Bill Shankly said, if you need to look at a player two or three times, he's not worth signing. The Liverpool way is dead and buried. Repent, we've all had it!

19 Jun 2011 21:37:52
Although i trust Kenny, i do hope that the rumours about Charles N'Zogbia joining stay as rumours! I do rate N'Zogbia but not so much to want to see him play for us. People may disagree but if we are to go with a 4-4-2 formation next season i would like to see Kenny give Glen Johnson a role on the right of midfield with young Martin Kelly behind him.
As for all of those slating Henderson, get a grip! Yes he hasn't lived up to our expectations so far in this competition but look who's giving him the directions! Pearce is a shocking manager in my opinion! Henderson is being played out of position, WAY TOO DEEP and due to this aswell as Pearce's horrific tactics it looks like England will be going home from Denmark empty handed. Judge Henderson after 10 games into the Premier League under Kenny and judge him then not under this fella!
With all the specualtion and rumours etc i honestly don't have a breeze anymore who we'll bring in.
After reading Kenny's book it seems as if he is an admirer of Aquilani who i'd like to be seen given a chance to see in pre-season at the least.
Maybe if the likes of Carroll, Spearing or Kelly had been brought to Denmark, England could be set for the semi's but who knows.....

Mata might not want to go to them.}

Liverpool now have the template for success. Carroll and Suarez will be a success up front. This set up of Carroll and Suarez is like no other in Europe. Of all strike partnerships, this one looks best set to benifit from decent wingers.

Quality wingers that could be a success that are reasonable targets for Liverpool:

Payet
N, zogbia
Downing
Jarvis

C'mon lads think you all need to lay off Henderson abit.
The lads probably tired after a long season , which is why wilshere wasn't selected for the squad.
Let's just remember last summer which in my opinion was the worst world cup I've seen due to players playing to much.
Also who ever said Henderson would be our biggest signing you are deluded.

{Ed001's Note - Liverpool is a self-sustaining club, unlike City or Chelsea, let's keep it that way instead of whining about the club paying big money. That is what did for Leeds and Portsmouth.}

------------------------------------------------

No problem, lets just accept that we are now a mid table club then. In my opinion, with a new 60,000+ stadium, whether it be an Anfield refurb or new ground, either way should cost circa £325 mill. An investment of around £150mill in players, which would allow us to compete with the big guns and maybe bring success and FSG have an asset with a valuation on a par with Man Utd at circa £1.2 billion plus. If self sustaining is the way it has to be then top 4 should be regarded as a fantastic achievement with the odd flirt here and there in the champions league. We may as well forget ever winning the title again. {Ed009's Note - mate what happened? Fancy talking about it?}

Why are we judging Henderson on 3 performances in the Euro's after he played 30 odd games this season

not one member of the team is playing well (typical England)
trust KK and we can all make judgements after game 38 off next season

i seem to recall when our once "beloved son" Torres had a few barron games - he was called all the names under the sun, but as soon as he scored in one the next games - he was loved once more

Liverpool bos Kenny Dalgish has reportedly prepared to use Scotland internation Danny Wilson as a makeweight in a deal to bring Celtic's £15million-rated left back Emilio Izaguirre to Anfield. former(recent) ger's player to celtic am i the only 1 that this is a little far fetched why why do ye keep entering all the same players that we could sign over and over and over and over again lads we all know the list of players that have been linked since Jan why do ye keep repeating the same names lets have a few new ones if none pls pls dont repost the same c**p

Christopher butchmann is going to make a return to the club this window..

...Unless Buchmann has had a major attitude overhaul, I would seriously doubt that we will see him at Anfield again. This was why (despite his undoubted talent) he was bombed out of Liverpool and Fulham.

Pretty please can we have out 16m back, it appears we made a big mistake with Jordan Henderson, he plays like my pet octopus.

"Liverpool are trying to persuade Wigan to part with Charles N Zogbia as the influence of agent Paul Stretford grows at Anfield.

Wigan have slapped a £15million price on the French winger, with Liverpool only willing to pay half of that fee but still hopeful of finding a compromise.

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish made a personal check on N Zogbia during Wigan s draw with Fulham last weekend.

The Anfield club s move for the Wigan star has been driven by Stretford and his business partner, former Newcastle chairman Freddy Shepherd."

This was run by the Mirror on 22/01/11.

Paul Stretford mentioned above is Footballagent01/TripleSSports on twitter. Looks like the footballagent01 account was hacked a short time before 7pm.

ello all
not a rumour at all more of querry.
away from all the usual suspects being linked to the club i have a young lad in mind that would sort out the wing problem we have at the mo and that is the young danish talent of christian erikson.

a tasty player with bags of flair and a deadly delivery, how can this kid not even be on the radar?
he ticks all the boxes,
winger: check
young: check
passion: check
dont know if he is over valued but i do really think this kid fits the bill.
what do u lot think {Ed001's Note - we tried to get the lad in January, Chelsea tried to get him this summer, Ajax refuse to listen to offers.}

henderson has been crap in this tourny, even allan smith saying his passing been bad, 16+ m is v steep, javi martinez must be worth 40m if hes that, redknapp was rite he couldnt lace modric boots, why cant we aim for better players;-(

19 Jun 2011 20:25:28
Post in rumours please. Im afraid to say, im starting to think that henderson will be our best signing. We're doomed! Guys, get used to the empty feeling. Sorry KD, but im losing faith...i would love to be proved wrong but i get the feeling i wont. No europe next year either guys! According to my impeccable sources, we will be signing the following players: N.E.One, Evree.One, Thumb.One. I can't reveal my sources for two reasons: A) I and my immediate family would be at risk (always sounds dramtic) and B) I have none and have simply made all this up (an excuse instantly recognisable to most posters who publish rumours). This is 101% true and twice as true as whatever you say, naa naa naa, Rmemeber the name, ty heard it here first, yadda yadda yadda

Firstly, let's stop all this nonsense about sources & inside information...
Most players & club staff our still on holiday, but will be making their way back to rainy England next week, that's when the fun & games begin.
The ONLY concrete player next on LFC's agenda is Charlie Adam as Blackpool chairman has said there has been contact between the two clubs. I don't know at what stage the negotiations are at, but more than likely a deal to be done in next 7/10 days.
A lot of what you read is agents whipping up a frenzy so that their player gets top dollar & he/she representing the player gets a nice pay day.

why doesn't henderson move into the space i.e. the centre circle to reiceve the ball, he is either right by the centre back or up front. He has talent but so far his postional sense is not great certainly no where near wilshire or even Shelvey from what i;'ve seen so far. check it out on SS1 {Ed001's Note - have you ever thought he is just doing as he is told by a manager who hasn't a clue?}

19 Jun 2011 20:13:18
Why are they playing Henderson so deep?? He never played like that for Sunderland and it's not his best position! It doesn't give him a chance to express himself and influence things like he can. And it's not like be can keep popping 60 yard passes around because the movement up front is awful. Oh well, at least I know Kenny will use him correctly...

Chelsea are to bid for Hamburger SV winger Eljero Elia, write the Metro.

Wigan Athletic Premier League fixtures

Ukraine U21 v Spain U21 live streaming

The Blues' former sporting director Frank Arnesen is now in a similar role at Hamburg, and has worked hard to try to secure deals for Michael Mancienne, Jeffrey Bruma, Gokhan Tore, and Jacopo Sala.

Chelsea have long needed some pace on the flanks in order to become less predictable with their play - which was often pedestrian build-up through the middle.

The Metro claims their strong working relationship with Arnesen will help secure a deal for Elia, and that his 17m price tag will be reduced in compensation for the Stamford Bridge starlets headed to HSV.

That 17m figure has reportedly put Liverpool off, despite widely published interest in January, and it now appears Chelsea lead the race for Elia's signature.

The speed and trickery of Holland international could provide a valuable counterattacking element to Chelsea's arsenal, and perhaps help get the best out of 50m man Fernando Torres up front.

KK will sign Erik Lamela from River Plate for 11million with Maxi as part of the deal

This rumour might actually have some legs as River Plate are in a relegation battle for the first time in their history and the player may want to leave (even though Barcelona is his 1st choice). Personally I would prefer Pato Rodriguez.

16 mill for Henderson
20 mill for Suarez
35 mill for Carroll

Yea of course mate, NESV don't want to spend big do they.
Do all reds a favour, and SHUT UP.

-------------------------------------------------

Wheres the big spend? Carroll and Suarez are covered by the Torres and Babel revenue, and if Meireles ends up leaving, that balances the Henderson fee. Moreover, given that FSG bought the club at a snippet, why are we still hanging around bargain basement corner looking at the NZogbia's, Enriques, Danns, Downings and so on. I'd rather have 1 or 2 additional big signings and filter some of the acadamy lads into the first team. We should have paid the necessary for Jones, he's the only player in the England U21's who looks half decent, but yet again Commolli dithering in the shadows. We need a good centre half, left back, and two wingers and we should be paying the premium for these positions. £70 mill spend for the right players. All other areas we have quality and emerging quality coming through the system. Pay the bucks now to get us the success and the pertaining revenue to self fund replacements as and when necessary. {Ed001's Note - Liverpool is a self-sustaining club, unlike City or Chelsea, let's keep it that way instead of whining about the club paying big money. That is what did for Leeds and Portsmouth.}

LFCTHB007 good read till you say £21m for johnson, bolloxs nowhere near that amount.

19 Jun 2011 19:51:34
A couple of things for you, Firstly i believe Charles N'Zogbia WONT sign for us, I have no idea who we will sign on the wings but i am led to believe that Dimitri Payet is Damien Commoli's top target, its up to King Kenny to decide if we pursue a deal for him, the player and club (St.Etienne) are happy to talk to LFC

Secondly, i'd imagine that were all loving Luis Suarez at the moment, i have been told by several people that he loves Liverpool life and would like to stay here for 3 or 4 years. His dream and ambition is to play for Barcelona, and should he continue playing to a high standard, the Catalan club are likely to move in the next few years - so don't get too used to him being around !!

Thirdly, - Juan Manuel Mata, the big question - will he sign or wont he ?
I've been told that Liverpool and Valencia are both willing to speak, but no conversations have taken place YET, the player is happy to stay but would prefer a new challenge in a foreign country, our main rivals are Manchester City - who could lure him with the prospect of playing with David Silva again - time will tell on this one

Finally, should City sign Alexis Sanchez or even Juan Mata - we will put in a bid of around 21m GBP for Adam Johnson, City would then be willing to sell - but this one we all probably know

19 Jun 2011 20:00:55
I have myself reliable sources to tell people that Liverpool will not be signing Juan Mata, his heart is set at Valencia and even if he does go anywhere it will be Man City. The rumours about Fernando Gago are true, he could sign on the first day of the International window on July 1, with his agent stating "Liverpool is a perfect club for Fernando to start playing Football again".

With every-one talking about Edinson Cavani is ludacris, he will not be signing at all and neither will big names too. Liverpool will be signing the likes of Charlie Adam, Conor Wickham which wont win them anything and I'm here saying this as a Liverpool fan. The deal for Cristian Zapata will be done very soon, he's regarded as one of the best centre backs in Serie A and has snubbed Munich, Arsenal and City to come to us. And one last thing, Sergio Aguero, is absolute rubbish, he will never pull on the Liverpool jersey, wage demands SKY HIGH

....More regurgitated BS passed on as fact

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish is to move for Celtic midfielder Ki Sung Yueng instead of Blackpool captain Charlie Adam,

The South Korean is three years younger than Adam at 22, and has demonstrated his vast potential since joining Celtic.

He has a similar style of play to Adam, dictating play with long diagonal passes from central midfield to wingers. He is also a real threat from set pieces, and fluent in English from his scholarship in Australia.

He is also taller than Adam at 6'2", and with Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston proving difficult for Liverpool to negotiate with - particularly with Tottenham Hotspur also keen - Liverpool may look elsewhere to secure their man.

This was written by Adam Davies I guess based on a Talksport(!) rumour.

I like the look of him to be honest!

Was getting me van signwritten the other day and a lad from Wigan was getting his van done at the same time
he said he knew a man who walks his dog in the the same park as Zoggy (nzogbia) and told him he would be signing for Liverpool FC.
The guy seemed real genuine and was definitely from Wigan as he had his van signwritten.

Just a thought eds.
I know yous have said that Lpool don't have a set transfer budget as such.
But I presume the club's bank has to agree to any fee paid ?
At how much notice, and with how much freedom, are the club able to handle their deals?
Are we working to an agreed overdraft or do our backers show assets to cover any debt?
What I'm saying is, there's no set transfer level but there will be natural constraints - do u know what these are?
The Real KB {Ed001's Note - you forget that transfer fees are not paid immediately, there is plenty of time, minimum of 28 days, to arrange funding.}

I have heard it will be N'Zogbia, Adam or Johnson.

N'Zogbia is not good enough for Liverpool!!

A twitter page called 'TripleSSports' have announced that Liverpool have agreed terms with Charles N'zogbia and that the deal is only subject to the player passing a medical. It all depends what you mean by failed. Marveaux's medical revealed concerns that did not mean that he could not play but did suggest he might spend a lot of the timeon the treatment table. In view of this risk he was offered a lower salary which he rejected. So arguably he didn't fail his medical he just got a D instead of an A*. I'm glad we didn't buy another Harry Kewell.

Why would Liverpool go for Juan Mata and Adam Johnson? Both play same position, are we really going to fork out £40mil for a pair of players who won't be on th pitch at the same time.

It is Juan Mata who is our number one left wing target, talks have been on going on for some time, and the Valencia friendly next month may just be an indication of agreement between the two clubs.

Adam Johnson hasn't been considered at all, it's just a lot of wishful thinking. Man City would not sell to us as we are rivals for a Champions league place this coming season. Nor do they need the money.

The other winger we are likely to sign is (the right sided) Jeffren Suarez from Barcelona. A deal likely to go ahead if Liverpool offer in th reigon of £8million.

Leighton Baines rumours hotting up once again. He was the best leftback in the prem last season. If we want to be challenging for League titles, then thats the kind of signings we should be making. Although I think Gael Clichy is good value for money and still has great potential that KK can help him fulfill.

I perfectly remember Macca saying Marveaux had a medical on thursday and passed it. Shame for you. {Ed009's Note - Marveaux did pass his medical, so Macca would not have been mistaken. It was the contract dispute due to potential problems with his body which caused the issue.}

I think he means we'll give spurs cole plus cash for defoe.

I highly understand that people who doubt Macca's posts to be fair do not get posted on this site. However, hear me out. I don't know who or what source Macca has nor do I care. I am not going to insult the man because I see he has his own opinion on who we will sign and I have mine. Now on to business, looking at the 'Macca Rumours' page I found this piece of information which has no doubt been echoed throughout this site.

'Adam will sign..
Downing wants to come,
Enrique or Clichy,
Dann
Wickham.'

I for one have stated one piece of information on this site for a couple of weeks and I feel it has not been admitted on to the site. I feel that Adam will not sign for Liverpool. Nor will Downing, Dann or the two quoted left-backs. My views on Wickham remain that he does have the possibility of coming to Anfield. I feel our transfers this season will come in the form of unexpected transfers not what is being quoted in numerous newspapers at the moment. People may feel what I have mentioned is aload of BS and that Macca is right as he has been with numerous other things but this is my view and we will see who is correct on Sept 1.

The Daily Star Sunday says Chelsea last night launched a stunning £50miIlion bid to sign Aguero after it was revealed the player was close to joining Juventus.The Blues' dramatic move for Aguero, 23, comes as Atletico coach Gregorio Manzano warned mega-bucks Manchester City who are also interested in the Argentina striker to make an offer or face the prospect of having to meet his £45m release clause.

So can we PLEASE stop talking about Aguero to the pool, because it is not going to happen.

This rumour seems much more realistic and a major reason why that judas signed for Chelski in the first place.

Keep the faith though everyone-the king has bigger fish to fry to build a team worthy to challenge next season and we all need to have faith in his ability to spot talent and mould a team we will all be proud of!

And I just want to give my support to Macca-the poor lad is only posting what he is hearing and I for one hope he continues to post without the backlash from armchair fans!

Can somebody actually officially clarify the position regarding Merveaux and his medical? Did he pass it or not?

North Wales Daily Post (part of the 'Echo' family) and the Mirror and CEEFAX and SSN all carried reports on saturday morning that he failed due to an on-going groin injury.

Is this true or not? {Ed001's Note - sort of, the medical flagged up problems that his recent op was supposed to have cured. Apparently the op wasn't a complete success and there is still a weakness there. So we changed our contract offer to be more based around appearances than a basic salary. He chose not to accept that deal.}

We need a left back and this lad is coming back from loan. Surely if we told him to get into shape a bit more we have a young defender willing to learn and develop?....

Not a rumour as such but a great insight into the statistical way decisions are made by the new owners. For all you knockers who slag Fifa or Football Manager I can reveal both play a central role in player aquasition.

In the States John Henry used a system called MONEY BALL, this was derived from a simple board game popular in the US in the 80s MONEY BALLZ made by mattel. It had players guessing the probable roll of small ball bearings. Henry used the model to stastically assess player potential.

The model does not effectively translate to football so an alternative was sought.

So at present the club employs 200 young coaches to play FIFA and FOOTBALL MANAGER and also pools trends from online gaming to work out % trends on player impact.

I reveal that Jordan Henderson was aquired after featuring across the board in 21.7% of title winning teams.

So the approach is systematic and scientific with only created or edited players proving difficult.

Henry Werner and Winfrey are winners fear not the title will be ours.

Moneyball is a novel written by Micheal Lewis. It tells the story of the Oakland A's (baseball) general manager Billy Beane & his use of sabermetrics (the analysis of baseball through objective, empirical evidence, especially baseball statistics that measure in-game activity).

This is a practice for Baseball, not football. Does FSG use some of the same principles? probably yes. Do they base everything on statistics? probably not.

Have faith in the management team. The right man is in charge at Anfield now.

Eds

All this talk off attacking players on the wings what do you think of Liverpool buying higiaun, defoe or that type of player and playing Suarez on the flanks? What you think eds I think it would work as Suarez has plenty of ability in beating defenders but finishing can let him down.. I think he would be better than downing.

19 Jun 2011 15:48:07
I think the fact that we may have lost out on a few speculative targets is in fact a positive thing. Now don't go spitting your dummies at the screen, read my reasoning. It shows composure and steadiness when under pressure, we did not panic and throw all our eggs into one basket to obtain their service, which can only imply a relaxed, methodical approach with plenty of irons in the fire. If we do not have other suitable options available i can't help but think we would have put up more of a fight for their signature. Taking the January window into consideration, when we had a muteness dog jumping ship, the decision was made to bring in Carroll with what ever it took, because we needed a replacement their and then. So if, as everyone is implying, we 'needed' to sign these players we lost out on, i'm %100 certain more waves would have been made for their signatures, we still may have lost out, but we would have put up more of a fight. These two approaches, the slow, steady and methodical, combined with the decisiveness they displayed in January when we needed it, is how a respectful football club/business should be run. I have read some people preach this mantra but on the other hand whine when we don't throw all we have at 'stars.' We can't have it both ways. Soon, when FSG's plans come to fruition, and we are back amongst europe's elite, these players will realise their mistakes, because by then, these players will want us more than we want them.
Feel free to discuss/sling mud in my direction.

Hi Eds,
Can someone please tell me why people are panicking over lack of transfer action. Henderson deal done, it's only 2 weeks into window and international even open yet. Barring under 21 tournament , majority of players on holidays at the moment, so any dealings will be done when players return. I am sure KK and DC know who they want. I would be far more worried if there was no more additions come September 1st. There's is 2 1/2 months left, relax and if your a true fan you'll realise this . A lot of people seem concerned that we have lost out on the likes of Marvaux, Jones, Doni and possibly Adam and Young. With the exception of Jones I remain unconvinced that any of them were/are really high priority targets. The owners have shown their willingness to move quickly and decisively and pay high prices where the player has the right characteristics - Carroll & Henderson.

I for one, got frustrated under Rafa/Parry that we repeatedly paid top dollar for under achieving players and then sold failures for knock down prices to get them off the wage bill. I think we got a reputation for being a bit of a soft touch in our tranfer dealings under Parry. The new regime seem to be using the likes of Marvaux and Adams to let other clubs know we will not be bullied into bidding wars and paying over the odds for anything other than top targets. If we miss out on these players but gain a reputation of knowing what we value a player at and sticking to it then we may well reap the dividends with superior targets later in the transfer window.

Hi Ed's and fellow Reds. Hope I'm not alone in disagreeing with a few people on here about some of our reserve players. I personally don't rate Ayala, Pacheco, Eccleston or Amoo. I get why KK and DC are searching for young English talent such as Wickham because these players would never make the grade in the prem. I do like the look of Coady, Sterling, Suso and Morgan. But we need more than this. And the time has come to stop buying/signing second rate trash like Deggen, Poulson, Konchesky and Jovanovic. In Kenny we trust and I think he and Commoli will sign some class players. No need for us to start getting worried that we've missed out on a couple of "targets", the fall through of Marveax was a perfect example of not signing someone for the sake of it, giving loads of money per week to an injury prone winger.

hi eds, i may be being a bit thick here but with the whole charlie adam situation, if oyston is holding out for a better offer from another club can adam not turn round and say he wont accept a contract from any other club that way oyston has to accept the lfc offer or force him to stay and run down his contract for the final year and go for nothing, if adam really has "his heart set" on a move to lfc as a lot of people seem to say then he could try and force oystons hand a bit, although oyston could be stubborn and keep him for the final year just out of spite i suppose. what do you think? {Ed001's Note - Oyston is just refusing to sell Adam to anyone, there is no holding out for a bigger offer from someone else.}

Why are people so negative?? All is good at our brilliant club, good owners, good management and we have the ability to buy good players and add them to our potentially great squad..

We have a brilliant youth set up and some wonderful prospects coming through..

Lets enjoy what we have and look forward to the new season..

Cheers

No negativity here Macca, thanks for all your efforts on insight, most of us greatly appreciate it.

Does the Ki Sung-Yeung story have any legs? Any word about either Jeffren or Sergio Canales? The Gago story is good news, but I always get a little nervous about us signing a player who know one else really wants.

Are any other reds getting irritated with FSG's Moneyball/ Sabermetric approach to the transfer window? Essentially its an investment formula being applied to sport! This will not work in foortball. I'm all for having a degree of youth in the squad but this needs to be accompanied with well versed and experienced quality. Unfortunatley FSG need to realise that proven quality comes with a premium as their respective clubs don't want to part company with a proven asset. FSG need to get the mix right and realise that they can't buy every player for less than market value because the Moneyball calculation says they should do. They need to look at the overall picture and stop being short sighted. In any event, how are these young players, who supposedly hold latent value, realise that value if they're not surrounded by proven experienced quality players to learn from! I'm becoming increasingly concerned with the nature of this transfer policy and the targets we're being directed to because of it. This is a sport, not an investment in a commodity or a stock. This Americanisation is nothing more than academic eyewash.

KK will sign Erik Lamela from River Plate for 11million with Maxi as part of the deal

River Plate are due to play a 2 legged relegation play off.
if they are to b relegated i dnt see Maxi movin to a 2nd division Argentine team tbh.
Plus im guessin if they do get relegated we wont have to pay as much for Lamela.

I don't think anybody has any inside knowledge of transfers because lfc keeping things very quite, its all gueswork, just something I realised I been on this site for while and no one knew about henderson until lfc made a move for him, the charlie adam thing is also dragging on a bit, like marveux thing, it looks like its not gonna happen. I think alot of transfers are not gonna happen until august at the earliest as some teams are after crazy money, and lfc made a mistake for paying silly money for carrol and henderson hence why blackpool and other teams are putting prices up dramatically, the only deal I thought was good business was suarez.

All these rumours ... We need to sign someone big, proven, from a big club who has done something in Europe ... It will be same old, same old, if we are going for the likes of Charlie Adam and Connor Wickham we'll end up sixth again if we're lucky! We have to do something more positive on the transfer front if we are ever going to get anywhere near the likes of Scum, Chelski and M. s**tty with Tottenham now in and about too! Jeesus, all this talk of Barton for F***s sake has to stop ... We want winners to win things not these second rate players that, fair enough look not too bad at a small club, but we NEED to get rid of under achievers not bring more of the b**tards in!! Come on Lads this is Liverpool. We have Carroll now who in my humble opinion has still a bloody lot to prove to warrant the £35 mill: so lets have some positive feedback on who we need to offload first, because again it's only my opinion but there's at least five I could mention that I would sell tomorrow!

Hey ed, seen a rumor linking us with Ki sung Yueng of Celtic ??.. Seems like a fantastic Asian talent, only 22, with great vision and alonso style awareness on the field.. Surely a more intelligent move than for Charlie Adam... Plus his hero is reportedly stevie g so how could he turn down the opportunity to work with him in his last few years.. Any thoughts or news on this?? Thanks {Ed001's Note - none, he was just a backup for Celtic, not seen a lot of him.}

So Liverpool beenlinked with a hell load of players , wingers especially so adam johnson: if man city signed alexis shancez this deal is possible, Downing:dont get me wrong is good for villa coz there a mid-table club but dont see him doin anything big for liverpool !Juan mata: a whole different level got skill and pace overall would be amazing signing heard tht liverpool have pre season game on august 6th so mabey something could happen with mata dad saying liverpool is the best option ! liverpool also been linked with defenders cahill, dann, zarpta n baines , we only need two of them we have kelly , johnson, robinson, flano, carra, agger kyriarkos, skrytle to be honest get ship of agger n skrytle n bring in baines if not cahill n dann ! eds what you think of my post ? {Ed001's Note - how can you say Downing wouldn't be able to step up in the right team? Beckham had nothing but the ability to cross and take free kicks, Downing offers pace and the ability to cross. Just because a player is limited doesn't mean they can't be great players.}

With the transfer policy of FSG that Liverpool have adopted, i wonder if we'd get half the money back on Downing if we bought him for arguments sake 17.5 mil.What would we get happen If it didn't work out.We'd give him at least 2 years at least as not to look like knobs for signing him for that much if he wasn't much cop(no pun intended).We'd be lucky to get half our money back for a 29 year old winger that didn't make it at Liverpool.I just think that until we make the Champions League we've got to buy a couple of world class players re of age like David Villa and give him a healthy pay packet.Just be same situation as Downing sell on fee wise and wouldn't cost much more.I think we've got to be a bit more flexable without being silly on this buy young(not Ashley) sell for profit.Lets get C.L football nailed down first because without it were f***ed if we wanna attract world class players like. Ed have the Charlie Adam negotiations really broken down , and is it me or is it to early to say that we won't be having the special transfer window everybody is expecting ? ........ The chef kd7 YNWA JFT96 {Ed001's Note - Oyston is just refusing to speak to us, he set a price so we tried to bid that price and he refuses to even acknowledge it. Certainly his father's son that one. I agree, I think it is far too early and people need to get a grip.}

To everyone claiming Mata to City, he wants to move to a club where he's guarenteed first team his agent has stated and after watching Silva not always start it surely puts us as favourites ruling us out of buying him is just stupid he will be the marquee signing I feel

19 Jun 2011 13:14:20
as quoted on ssn news downing will not leave villa unless we pay 14 million but downing does want to play football at a different club and also alex mckleish has hijacked our deal will offer 9 million plus petrovs brother in the youth team

----------------------------------------

So Alex Mcleish is going to offer a player (who already plays for him) 9 million pounds and a youth team player to stay ?? Why would downing want a youth team player given to him ? is he interested in adoption ? and what does the youth player think about being involved in modern day slavery?

Please post on rumours page Eds;

I am beginning to feel a little disappointed in the fact that we are after relatively small and not so good players. Downing, Adam, etc are not good enough to play for Liverpool and Mata as good as he is, is way too expensive for a 23year old who still doesnt play for the senior spanish side. I dnt know how some guys can be happy, Im very very disappointed, the only player we have been linked with that brings me any satisfaction is Zapata, because he is established and has been for a long time. Guys, we arent in the position to buy young players and develop them, our starting 11 is not good enough for a top 5 finish at the moment, even under KK... We need players for our starting 11.. GET RID OF JOE COLE, JOVANOVIC, AND A FEW OTHERS.... KEEP MAXI THO!

19 Jun 2011 13:11:26
Dont get me wrong, I would love to sign mata, however if man city do come in with a bid, they can just blow other clubs out of the water with thier financial power. Therefore i would be quite happy with Adam Johnson, cheaper, still young and has bags of ability and potential. So other than mata, he would be my first choice. I would also like to see either of these on the other wing; Turan, Perotti or Payet. All young and quality.

I also think we will sign Zapata as that is very close, which i am also happy with.

Juan Mata to Liverpool is not as far as people may think.

Of course there has to be an agreement of a transfer fee, most likely a good percentage will be add on's as Liverpool will not pay that reported 18-22 million up front.

We cannot offer the same wages as city do and this has been the bigget pull for most stars who have ended up at city.

However what we do have in our favor are a couple of key factors.

1) Juan Mata senior is his agent and it has been reported in the past his father would prefer his son to go to a club that guaranteed playing time. now if he where to come to Liverpool that is a guarantee, where as at city if you dont have a good run of games you out as quick as you came in, some prime examples Jerome Boateng, Shay Given, Patrick Vieira, and looking more like Dzeko every day and am sure there is more floating round i just cant think of them at this time.

Factor 2) city are not currently interested in Juan Mata, ok that is a bit far of course there is interest there but only if Alexis Sanchez does not sign for city but reports show from the Udinese camp that is his most likely destination, and with money not an issue at that club am sure Alexis would sign on the dotted line. Dont you forget there where rumours city we getting close to Ronaldo of all players, the reported £150 million transfer fee, the reported 400 thousand a week wages, the captincy and number 7 shirt and with tevez still at the club today, i am sure that would of coursed a couple of riffs in the camp. Would Juan Mata really want to go to a club that could replace him evry six months.

Now this is just my interpretation of the situation, city have the pulling power and we have guarantee's it is ultimatley down to Juan Mata where he will play next season if he does decide to leave Valencia a club quite close to his Heart.

Sorry guys just heard Adam could go to Stoke he said he would like to play in Europa league and in the future the champions league not saying Stoke will be in champions league any time soon also wickham to go to Newcastle 14 million for downing why are our English so much now it's really a joke money will ruin football with all these big transfers to tell u the truth I think we should keep aqua he had a class season better than Adam save the money kk

to the guy who sais juan mata will stay at valencia and then sais he may go man city lol, why dont you go back to your own site and sit on your chair and wait for your owners to spend stupid amounts of money, thats what makes you guys happy and by the way you wont be buying any trophies and it will take you more then your life time to reach liverpools stature. The world is officially crazy!! Henderson for £16 milion plus add ons and Bojan who could easily become the best player in the world in the next year or two you can pick up for a measly £9.6 million. Im telling you people, with DC in charge of our finances the bailiffs arent gonna be to far behind! Is it not obvious we need to pay a few million more to Barcelona and give Bojan a few quid more a week and secure his signature?? And what makes all of you think that Charlie Adam will pass a medical? I dont fancy his chances on a treadmill for 20 minutes! If its true hes on 4k a week then thats ridiculous, thats 3k too much!!! Peace, love and happiness...Jari_L

In around April time, I was very optimistic about transfers.
I thought we'd carry on the trend of January signing Suarez and Carroll and be title contenders next season.
However, now, with rumours of n'zogbia rather than mata, I am expecting the worst.
Eds, do you think we'll sign good quality players who are not just for the future. {Ed001's Note - yes.}

And one last thing, Sergio Aguero, is absolute rubbish, he will never pull on the Liverpool jersey, wage demands SKY HIGH"

Well you must have good sources if you've found out Cavani's secret identity - "Cavani is ludacris". I'm surprised he has enough time for his music career. Total BS (other than the Aguero bit).

What a bag of balls am I to believe your source is gago's agent and that quote was all over the net on Monday and I can tell you liverpool are not interested as for mata he never said anything about his future and won't until after the u21's but the choice is with his club who are heavily in debt. just a report on juan mata- anyone that watches him enough can see this guy is not just a class winger but he has great passing ability and reminds me of a young xabi alonso, exactly what kenny will be looking for, someone who can see a pass out wide or through the middle, can split defences apart and good at one touch football. i really hope hes our player at the end of the summer, i feel he will suit our team so well, playing with suarez infront of him. They have spotted, Cristian Zapata, Gokhan Inler & Alexis Sanchez, all quality players. I am hoping DC will send some one down to watch the Copa America and find hidden gems such as Sanchez & Zapata.

If FSG wanted to go about the job properly in order to compete and push for the title and champions league football, they should have requested a brief from Kenny outlining the players he wants to ensure a squad of quality and depth. Subsequently Commolli should follow this up by negotiating at realistic sums for the player which would serve to satisfy the selling clubs opinion of value and also offer the player an incentive to join the club, very much in the tone of Chelsea with Torres, Aguero, Modric and so on. Failing to do this will not secure the quality we need. Lets face it, its highly likely the Suarez and Carroll deals wouldn't have gone through if it wasn't for the Torres revenue. We're now back to scratching around in the bargain basement at £10-15 mill whilst the top clubs are paying £20 mill plus for the desired quality. To all fellow reds, don't get your hopes up to much next season, this pantomine in the transfer market isn't pretty and certainly isn't going to bring in any significant uplift in quality to what we have now. In fact the only semblance of a playmaker we have in the midfield (Meireles) is rumoured to be on the way out and appears to have been replaced with a young lad, who on the performances so far in the England U21 Championships, isn't fit to lace his boots.

BRILLIANT NEWS

I'm just home from my Sunday morning swim in West Kirby, I usually swim out and have a bit of a laugh with the dolphins about 1 mile off shore, I get on well with sea mammals because I am able to speak there language of clicks and beeps, today I came across a lovely little bottlenose with the plastic bit of a 6 pack of cans stuck around his beak, being the hero that I am I freed the helpless dolphin and he repaid me by taking me on a wonderfull journy skimming across the waves of the Irish Sea much further out than I had ever been, he took me into the shipping lines used by all the boats coming into the docks and we had great fun surfing the waves made by all the ships, we came across one very nice yacht on its way to Liverpool, the Dolphin swam right up along side it and I was able to see the passangers that were on board, to my surprise and delight I seen Sergio Kun Aguero, John W Henry and Tom Werner laughing, sipping champagne and looking over some official looking paperwork, so it looks like Aguero will be signing for Liverpool and isn't it nice to see the new owners doing things the Liverpool way keeping business behind closed doors and sneaking players into the country on private yachts to avoid the eyes of the press. Friend of the Dolphins, 100% accurate,

I agre with most that wrote but do not forget what SAF said about next season, he said that Liverpool will be one of favorites to win Premiership considering how well KD lead LFC in second part of season.

If we slim down the current squad and merge with some of the better rumours we could have this:

Reina, Some sub keeper.

G. Johnson, Carragher, Kelly, Skrtel, Shako, Enrique, Zapata

Gerrard, Mata, Lucas, A.Johson, Meireles, Adam, Maxi, Henderson, Spearing

Carroll, Suarez, Kuyt, Wickham

I know this is by far best case senario and Im sure there are some great players kenny is after that we don't know about but the above squad would challenge for the title.

By the way, I don't rate adam that highly at all. Think he is unfit and highly overated. If we didn''t have andy carroll he shouldn't even be considered. But the thought of his left foot and carroll has to equals lots of goals. would be a great squad addition.

Think kenny has a lot of work to do on henderson aswell to make him a real liverpool player. Kenny has done it before though

Ok lets look at the first team players looking like leaving this summer!

Jones GK 1 Mill
Konchesky LB 2 Mill
Cole AM/W 2-3 Mill
Jovanovic CF/W 2-3 Mill
Maxi W ?? Mill?
Ngog CF 5-6 Mill
Poulson DM 3 Mill
Aquilani AM 12-15 Mill
Degen RB 1-2 Mill
El Zhar W 1 Mill
Insua LB 1 Mill

These sale values are only guestimates but it still comes upto £36 Million! I know there might be some deductions from that meaning buying players out of their contracts or whatever happens but it could still come to £25 Million minimum! Now nobody knows our transfer budget but i'm guessing we'll spend as much as we need to. £15-20 Million on each wing, £16-20 Million on Henderson, £5-15 Million on LB and then theres speculation on C.Adam, GK and of course another quality striker! so basically our owners could be spending upto £80-100 Million. I think with whats been going on recently in regards to losing out on players and alot of speculation could mean if nothing happens in the next week regarding to the wings, LB and striker positions we could be making alot of surprise signings come July when the international window opens. Basically what i'm on about is i think nobody knows who we'll sign apart from people inside the club coz thats how it should be, just like the Henderson and Carroll situation. Expect the unexpected and trust what KD and DC are up to with the full support off the owners!

Gerrard Mata
Eto'o Carroll Suarez

top 4 maybe?

19 Jun 2011 12:16:22
hiya ed i know this is just a gossip and wish list site and you do a really good job but do you think anyone knows who our real targets are after all i dont think the signing of henderson would have convinced the likes of reina to stay so i am expecting a couple of really big names at least any thoughts {Ed001's Note - the players do not know who we are signing, it is nothing to do with signings that Reina stayed, I wish people would get that fantasy out of their heads. He is staying because he was promised amibition, not particular players.}

19 Jun 2011 12:10:53
Am starting to sense the same old story, Liverpool missing out on first choice signings, which I thought new owners new behind the scenes faces that would all change, once upon atime we would get any player we wanted, now we settle for players who should only dream of playing for Liverpool nevermind being linked and putting that red shirt on.
DAVID_K_o1 {Ed001's Note - it has always been the same, even at our heights we missed out on a number of players, such as Roy Keane.}

19 Jun 2011 12:07:20
anyone think we should try get lavezzi from napoli he would cost a bit but he is class

19 Jun 2011 12:04:19
charlie adam might not sign but its not to bad coz we have gerrard raul spearing shelvey lucas and now henderson i thnk we should be concentrating on another striker try and get bojan or someone like that a left back id go for clichy and we need a center back (scott dann or g cahill) and wingers we should get corzola mata johnson and a second choice would be downing if we can get two of them i think we will be ok

19 Jun 2011 12:02:21

19 Jun 2011 12:00:18
We shold raid Dortmund and get Gotze, Hummels and Barrios.And also get Honda and Mata what do you think eds?? {Ed001's Note - why would a player want to leave Dortmund to come to us? It is all very well saying we should get them but it is not that easy!}

19 Jun 2011 10:33:54
Mata, zapata, a.johnson, adam, jeffren... hopefully our signings this summer... whats your view eds? {Ed001's Note - would be nice but not looking likely right now that we will get all of them.}

19 Jun 2011 08:51:47
Morning all Eds.Would just like to know how do you rate Zapata and is he kinda as good as Phil Jones or better? And personally, I don't think Zapata will use us for publicity as mentioned by a few fans.He could well have used Barcelona, Real Madrid or other teams qualified for champions league to do so.
San {Ed001's Note - I haven't seen him play sorry.}

19 Jun 2011 11:58:18
i though we was promised a busy summer transfer window???

19 Jun 2011 11:57:30
I have been looking at this site for a while now and its a great site.Now loads of rumours have been posted about aguero, adam, zaplata, dann, clichy etc and thats good it gets me excited.But the one rumour that is constant is Damien Commoli's ability to do the job he has been given.He seems to be too slow in his dealings and we are and will lose players because of this.This is the one and only mistake the new owners have made so far.What is your opinion on this ed ?(RD.RED) {Ed001's Note - I disagree, he just won't be held to ransom.}

19 Jun 2011 11:55:37
We should sign ERIK LAMELA he would be are answer to john barnes QUICK, LEFT FOOTED, DEAD BALL SPECIALIST, DRIBBLING AND DELIVERY INTO THE BOX where big andy will be waiting.Someone mentioned that river plate are fighting relegation so he would opt for a move away.

But i have a feeling that we will miss out on him cos are attention is focused on the likes of downing and charlie adam on bout charlie adam we should sign JAVI MARTINEZ instead

19 Jun 2011 11:48:04
1)LFC will probably play with 3 midfielders nxt season since we sign henderson and later charlie adam..and maybe another DMF..
2)IF we sign 2 wingers, then i expect Kuyt will play as striker.
3)lfc need to sign stronger and fast central defender. kjaer/sakho/zapata all good options..DC really like Sakho..i wonder what is KD's choice....
4)cheap reliable Left.back would be Clichy but i doubt Arsenal will let him join lfc..so that leave Enrique/Cissokho/izaguire...Aly cissokho looks promising and hes young.

19 Jun 2011 11:47:20
Liverpool are reportedly on the verge of sealing a deal for Udinese centre-back Cristian Zapata after the South American star revealed that he is set to turn down the advances of Manchester City and Arsenal.

The Colombian central defender has been in talks with the Merseyside club over the past few days and has revealed that he would prefer a move to Anfield to happen before this summer's Copa America tournament starts.

found this on the liverpool website hope its true.sam37

Roll on 1st July, hopefully the transfer market will burst into life, all this" will he wont he sign" crap is gettin on my tits, I know its all rumours & whispers but gettin bit worried that supposed targets seem to be turning us down all the time

19 Jun 2011 11:47:05
I feel EPL has stopped being a soccer league and has turned into a playground for filthy rich men who has too much money to burn. Why play FM2011 when you can do it live? Sadly , players are no longer chosen to play , instead they are bought so others can't have them.

Its turning into show room for the rich and the famous. Instead of fighting over who has the most expensive car , the trend is to fight over who has the most expensive players. Managers no longer decide who will be in the team , $ does. Just look at Torres for a very good example...

Sad isn't it?

19 Jun 2011 11:45:13
hi Ed just a couple of questions onthe 1 player Xherdan Shaqiri do we have interest? how much would he cost? what are the chances of him coming? and do you rate him? i have been watching him in the U21s and he looks class and as a young player can only get better please answer i would highly appreciate it great site btw great job {Ed001's Note - Roy Hodgson was the one that wanted him, that says it all to me, a mid-table level player for a mid-table team.}

19 Jun 2011 11:44:36
People keep saying on here "football is squad game we need adam" I agree but how bout making sure we fix the first 11 before buying squad players! Were spending so much time working on our squad players that all the players for our first 11 will have gone by the time we cone to buy.

Mr E

19 Jun 2011 11:40:01
Y dont we just screw adam and keep meireles, problem solved. Oh and screw downing and get mata and a different winger like perhaps the zog or adam johnson, then sign a quality CB like Cahill.

me14

19 Jun 2011 11:37:34
Why do people keep saying that we are back to doing business behind closed doors and that all transfers are going to be surprises? Only henderson was a surprise. We known bout adam, young, enrique, suarez, marveaux waaaaay before discussions to place.

19 Jun 2011 11:34:51
Has anyone actually seen any storys linking us to adam? or is everyone just decided were signing him?

19 Jun 2011 11:32:21
Why dont we try and buy the whole of the bloody england u21 squad, seems to be what some people want just young and english.
Doing my head in not liverpool quality, be prepared for yet another season of crap signings and heavy disappointment

19 Jun 2011 11:29:58
Heres hoping city get sanchez and i would prefer mata to johnson any day

19 Jun 2011 11:29:08
I think some of us are getting either too excited about, or over anxious with the potential or lack of signings. I have often wondered why we need Adam, baffles me, its an area were not really weak in. Oyston is playing games, we should walk away immediatley and do so happily. I cant speculate on other payers as i have no connections or sources. I believe KK will get it right; there is, as someone has pointed out two half months of the transfer window to go.

"Also liverpool will most probably sign Gago, he wants to leave real, real want to sell him, his most preffered destination is liverpool the only problem is real want £15million and we will only pay £10"

If we get Gago for a tenner, I'm running down my street naked!

19 Jun 2011 11:25:41
{Ed001's Note - that is a good question, I think it would depend on who else moves for him If 10 teams chase him, then his price s not going to drop! But 1 or 2 only showing interest would see his value owered.}
---------

You're forgetting the tricky business of securing a work permit for players outside EU. They need to have played 40percent of their countries national games in last year. This is why youngsters from this region often go to italy or spain as the law is a little more relaxed there.

Rewflo {Ed001's Note - not necessarily at that age, they can apply for the special talent dispensation, I would expect Lamela to have no problems with that.}

19 Jun 2011 11:20:16
I think Liverpool must buy the attacking midfielder such as Charlie Adam. Just look at his performance last season. He may be Steven Gerrard replacement. Don't waste money to buy the player we EPL games. Think twice and Spend Wise.

19 Jun 2011 11:13:56
Ed's, t the risk of sounding snobbish, any chance of a ban on posts that use text speak? Drives me insane.

Roma close to signing Bojan. Would have loved to seen him at Anfield.

The Kun

Where would you rather live?

Livepool or Rome?

Weasel {Ed001's Note - I would take Liverpool every single time.}

19 Jun 2011 11:05:19
If we sign juan mata he could be the difference to us getting into the champions league and who ever kenny decides to bring in i have total faith in him and i know produce a cup this yeah and get us into the champions league and in years turn us into a title winning side.

Players i would sign

Juan Mata ( a must )
Mamadou Sakho (best young cb in world)
Connor Wickham ( best young striker in england)
Patrick Veira ( on a free i would take him for back up)
Adam Johnson ( kind of winger we need)

players to get rid of....

Christian poulson
David Ngog
Joe cole
Milan Jovanavic
Paul Konchesky
Sortiris Kyriagkos

Favourite liverpool player ever.....1.Ian Rush

worst liverpool player ever........Christian poulson

With all these players being linked to us, I am suprised we haven't heard... of a quadruple deal for

Joe Rock, Fabian De Guisson and Callum Angelo, who will all be out of contract since the Warbury Warriors went under! Rufus Lebonq will be the new back up to Reina!

Well..... its about as believable as smoe of the other stuff on here..

Which I may add is part of the appeal, I read this site several times a day and get a good mix of possibiities and amusement.

El Diablo!

"News flash- History in the making."

You won't say that when he whips a free kick in past De Gea next season.

19 Jun 2011 10:45:40
Not a rumour, just a thought, Since the arrival of Kk the old school mentality of doing business behind closed doors had returned to the club. I expect us to make a good few signings that maybe haven't been mentioned at all! The Liverpool way is always keep your cards on your chest until the job has been done! Ps great site eds. Marchy

19 Jun 2011 10:34:18
Mata, cazorla, zapata, adam, johonson, aguero, gago, wickham.....

120mil worth of players are you funding some of these yourself?

19 Jun 2011 10:32:03
So we've apparently had a 12 mil bid for Downing turned down? If so, i say leave it at that. I dont think hes good enough anyway. Also, i think the price we paid for Henderson is back firing as it seems that his over the top fee is being used to hold us to ransom. Also, how can Bojan be available for under 10 mil and we not go for him? Im starting to think that this summer will be an anti-climax and we will be very disapointed come the start of the season. From worried and concerned liverpool fan {Ed001's Note - Bojan has not played well in years, that is why his value has halved. He burst onto the scene and has since faded away, it has been a long time since he had a good game.}

19 Jun 2011 10:31:33
mata, a.johnson, enrique, dann n mabey whickhm wha u think Eds ? {Ed001's Note - I am not sure any more, I really think we will sign players that none of us expect.}

19 Jun 2011 10:27:29
Just read that Maxi is staying now he knows he's involved in Liverpools plans for next season.He still wants to end his career with Newells Old Boys.I know, as much as i like Maxi its not got me jumping for joy.Its just like whats gone on in this Window so far.Underwelming(spelling).My faith is still there but please sign somebody of quality soon Commoli.Jonny Boy

19 Jun 2011 10:23:52
morning fellow red fans. It looks like another dissapointing day with more targets not willing to join Liverpool. It appears that DC is acting too slow carrying on the great work of Rick Parry. We are slowly going to be running out of players to pick from. If its true we have offered £12m for Downing even I could have old you Villa would say no.

19 Jun 2011 10:20:28
Barcelona are willing to sell david villa we should go all out to get him no matter what the transfer policy is at the moment

19 Jun 2011 10:10:58
We need to sign Erik Lamela ( River Plate ) & Lucas ( Sao Paulo ) two promising young south american stars. great potential. and just go for it because we keep losing out on amazingly talented players to Utd & others. so if we are wanting to get back to the golden years we better start signing players like Lamela & Lucas or even Xherdan Shaqiri.

Edd would like ur opinion on this statement ? {Ed001's Note - I can't say anything regarding them as I have not seen them play.}

19 Jun 2011 10:07:52
we should try and tempt Felaine from everton to our club along with his team mate baines.KD should go for quality wingers like adam Johnson and the likes...

19 Jun 2011 09:49:15
Morning Eds and LFC family,

This is a thought and question to Eds and all.

Riverplate (Argentina) are facing a relegation playoff, with the much coveted Lamela still with them, should they face relegation, surely he would welcome a move?

Question is, would he be at a knock down price? And would Liverpool swoop? He fits ALL the criteria and I am sure many teams will be watching the situation!

Eds, I believe he was watched a while ago, what do you think?

Bazzaa {Ed001's Note - that is a good question, I think it would depend on who else moves for him. If 10 teams chase him, then his price is not going to drop! But 1 or 2 only showing interest would see his value lowered.}

19 Jun 2011 09:52:00
So what is the jazz with Adam Johnson? Anyone got anything concrete on this regarding him having a medical for us tomorrow? Like the other reader I'd love to see him sign for us but fond want get my hopes up to be let down again . Anyone anything ? ?

19 Jun 2011 09:42:15
How many likely destinations does mata have to choose from in england?. I dont think in honest opinion he will sign for us. Our new policy is very much english and kenny and comolli bevause of fsg strategy to only sign english and young players
It could turn out to be a disappointing summer, and although i fully back kenny, i am not to keen on the players who have been linked or who we have bid for. Clichy, enrique= not good enough as with adam he is not good enough too let him go to utd and rot.

19 Jun 2011 09:41:02
The transfers seem to be dragging out. Adam was expected to sign with downing at the end of last week but the fact that we have yet to hear whether any bid has been successful, the rumors just seem to disappear. Personally it's really frustrating. YNWA

19 Jun 2011 09:31:32
Could this be a positive sign for us about Mata by a chance or just coincidence?

-LFC will play a friendly match against Valencia at Anfield on 6th August. It doesnt necessarily mean that Mata is signing for us, but we know for a fact that Mata will be at Anfield on 6th August if not earlier !? We dont know if its part of the Mata deal but it shows the two clubs have good relationships and to let you know Manchester City played home friendly against Valencia last year too after they signed David Silva in exactly the same date as we will play this year.

Ed, Adel taraabt said he wants to leave QPR.is there any chance of getting him as we did not sign Sylvain marveaux? {Ed002's Note - Taarabt has already had a shot at playing in the ELP. If he leaves over the summer I suspect it will be to sunnier climes probably taking the likes of Liverpool and Dortmund out of the equation. There has been interest from Italy, notably from Napoli and Juventus, and I suspect he will head for the Mediterranean. I think Malaga will be in with a significant shout for him. He has said that he would like to stay in London with Chelsea or Arsenal. Lots of baggage.}

19 Jun 2011 04:34:31
The rumours are 99% silliness and speculation.

Adam - no serious offer yet and with other clubs interested it doesn't look like we're that bothered to lose out on him a la Marveaux.

Zapata - the whole story came about through a poor translation of an interview. "Close to liverpool" from the player does not mean the club is in for him.

Johnson - More paper talk. I don't think we've even made an inquiry let alone bid.

Downing - Interest but no serious offer. Overpriced compared to what's on the continent.

Enrique - Again, looks like we're going to be too slow to react on this one also.

Dann - Seems that we like the player but prefer other CB options. Another team will probably get him.

Mata - Mostly paper-talk. Fan favourite but no evidence of strong desire on our part. Maybe secret negotiations are going on.

Turan - Another fan favourite that seems to have fizzled out.

Clichy - Same situation as with Dann. As we weigh up options someone else will grab him.

Lots of others being linked like Lucas, Cassano, Bothroyd, etc., but hardly anything concrete in any of those instances.
...........................
so u want us signing players from league 1 and league 2.

players that liverpool are targeting are ok but seriously would u see barcelona going for charlie adam..... they would be better of with charlie sheen.....

Hi Eds please clarify:
DC has been working on transfers since the January window closed, yes?
Mr. Werner, our chairman was disappointed we didn't make more signing during January (LFC TV), yes?
Funds are available for talented and young players who may have sell on value, yes?

Can we, therefore, judge DC when the window closes at beginning of season, to see who he's managed to find, unravel or win over to Liverpool?

He doesn't have any other responsibility, as far as I understand (I may be wrong, though).

Please comment Eds as I'm getting a little frustrated, although I know summer hasn't officially begun...

19 Jun 2011 01:31:37
I guarantee liverpool will sign at least two players that know one expects....just remember DC and KK are not stupid, if they do things quietly then it stops other teams from outbidding. Some other players i think they will get are sakho, cissokho, adam, mata, a.johnson, elia probably. And we will keep aquilani (ed your opinion on this?)

19 Jun 2011 01:31:02
in relation to the adam johnson rumours... we wanted to buy him in january but the injury got in the way.. kenny would love him but city now unwilling to sell... shame, we could have got him in jan for the right money.. now its more difficult but i still expect an offer... unlikely it will go through though unless plus 25 mill

my trusted friend works for Liverpool fc and she told me that Andy Carrol is going back to Toon and we are geting Jose Enrique and Jonas plus cash, Andy had a fist fight with Suarez and that's why he is leaving us. Jose & Jonas are good deal for AC

hi eds, is it just me or does anyone feel the same, im not too arsed if we dont sign anyone, the wife went to bed about an hr ago and i stayed up and watched all the motd since kk took over, all the ones we won anyway, lol, i feel if we play like we did under kk next season we wont be far off the top with the squad we have, also luis is so much better than torres, hes a joy to behold, you never saw torres making goals for others like suarez does, and his trickery and footwork, hes got to be one of the best in the epl, as i said im looking forward to next season even if we dont sign anyone,
so lets all be patient and let KK and DC do their work,
jimmybosun,

We have made an approach for Shane long.

Disappointingly.

Adam is happening but it's to much like hard work and we will soon give up.

Jake, Glum (closed season) red.

well another day goes on and no news from adam..im gutted really, i hope another club wont sign him before us i have been banging on about adam loads on this site.Im a season ticket holder at blackpool and a life long liverpool fan(still got to 5 home games last season at anfield lol)and i really believe he will be top notch for us some of his passing is unreal at times and im nearly 32 and have seen some good passer's in my time but he is quality and we need to get it sorted! I have spoken to him a few times and he is a top lad who would love to play for us.Just one more thing everybody in blackpool hates the oysten's the guy just takes all the money blackpool gets and banks most of it nothing much gets spent and the most a player earn's is 10-15 grand a week.Holloway is a top guy and has kicked oysten up the backside in regars to blackpools training facilities which were awful before he took over but oysten is just plain tight and remember adam took him to court because he was trying to wrangle out of a bonus that adam deserved so he aint gonna let him go without a fight! semi rant over

goodnight much love JJ blackpool

To the person that says that Adam Johnson is to have a medical on monday...if this is untrue then please state that asap. I personally have already had enough of missing targets/been made excited by false links etc. If this is to be true then its great news and he would be a welcome addition to our club! K.Bennett

To this guy, come on man this is a rumour site, hardly anything is true, so just chill out and take things with a pinch of salt

If we do end up getting Johnson, does that mean no Mata? i don't want that.

could we really be back in for sakho would be two players in one as he can play lb aswell.maybe him and zapata lots of pace and versatile.

19 Jun 2011 00:34:35
Ed who is this Paul Thompson? Is he reliable? Do you rate whicham? 15 goals in70 games not signing to be excited by in my eyes

The freshmaker {Ed001's Note - I don't know who Paul Thompson is, I don't use twitter sorry. Wickham has ability, but he forgets to use it because he is so used to being bigger and stronger than his opponents and plays like a battering ram. He needs to learn to make more of his skills.}

"19 Jun 2011 00:24:25

Lots of others being linked like Lucas, Cassano, Bothroyd, etc., but hardly anything concrete in any of those instances."

I take it Unsigned is extremely optimistic then.

eds why dont we go in for the hearts winger Andrew Driver...he looks good and is young.. 3-4mill should do the deal {Ed001's Note - I am sorry but I fail to see on what planet he looks good enough? A very average player I think.}

Hi Eds, right I'm not sure if this really belongs in the rumours section but here goes... besides all the names that are being banded around I think that all the silly talk about Kun etc and all the other players that are currently signed to non British teams should be dropped until after July 1st as it's becoming a bit of a joke now.
Don't get me wrong, speculation is fine and half of the stuff posted on here is entirely that - speculation not rumour, but people posting on here saying so and so is nailed on or deffo ours, no one knows for sure until that player is officially unveiled.
After July 1st then i think that we should start looking at who is hiding in hotels around the North West as was the case with Saurez, what do you think? {Ed001's Note - players can be signed before July 1st, it is just their registration that can't be transferred until then.}

18 Jun 2011 23:58:49
i have a feeling we will sign a few shock players in july...for one i didnt see andy carroll coming in the january transfer slot..i think king kenny will pull off a couple of master signings...lets wait and see.what do you think ed?

redricho {Ed001's Note - I certainly expect to be surprised by the signings.}

18 Jun 2011 23:50:53
what do you think ed liverpool chance of signing ji dong son {Ed001's Note - who? Sorry I have never heard of him, unless you made a typo and meant that one Sunderland are after, is it Dong Won? I don't want to assume it is a typo because it could easily be just another player with a similar name.}
