Best not bother they'll be well more than £77 on 2nd hand sites x.

20 Feb 2016 00:45:35
There's a few scallies outside the ground who will meet you in a jigger and sell you as many tickets as you want.

Genuine too.

Honest.

hi eds do you know of any more players we are interested or close to putting in a offer great work thanks guys.

Believable0 Unbelievable8

{Ed002's Note - I will do an update soon.}

19 Feb 2016 17:11:51
Why are so many people whinging about last night, yes it wasn't a great performance but we got the result (isn't that the making of a good side) .

Yes we smashed Villa but they are awful and I think they will struggle next season too!

As for us we are inconsistent, the manager started mid way through the season and has barely had chance to breathe. We have two big games coming up and if we win both, our season isn't going that badly. (just look at the utd page if you were in any doubt)

So can we have a little positivity, EDS can we have one of those positive post only days. It will give Harry a day off posting :p.

Believable5 Unbelievable10

{Ed002's Note - We will try that again soon.}

19 Feb 2016 17:27:20
We got the result? Bloody hell this is delusional.

We didn't win, or even score an away goal, against a relagation threatened bundesliga side with no european experience at all.

Not only that, we didn't even threaten, or even show significant intent to win the game AGAIN.

I actually think the 6-0 win against southampton was the only time liverpool have ever actually looked arsed in a cup game since 2013. Its tragic.

19 Feb 2016 17:31:55
I really do not understand y people target me always. Everyone makes me a bad person on this site. I was a topper at my school and college.

19 Feb 2016 18:18:36
Negative Nancy would be the answer to your question.

19 Feb 2016 18:30:36
Performance was ok last night but that's it.

People probably pull there face because we could have done with an away goal.

Harry I've got the violin out pal lol.

19 Feb 2016 18:47:36
People happy with this 0-0 draw, just shows how Liverpool have fallen far from where we use to be.

19 Feb 2016 18:57:34
We had 3 clear cut opportunities, firmino scuffed shot should've scored, sturridge 2 yards out tap in and toure 6 yards out free header. If any one of those go in last night it would have been a brilliant night. That didn't happen so suddenly it was an awful performance? No. It was exactly the game we wanted apart from we didn't score the goal we deserved. If we'd drew away to west brom would it have been an awful performance? No.

19 Feb 2016 19:34:51
Neggies have become "doubters" since Jürgen came in.

Don't worry about it Transition you only get it because people know you can take it. 😉.

19 Feb 2016 20:00:00
Harry I was winding you up. Ron you sure he can take it haha. And I never said I was happy just don't feel the need to bash the team for an ok result in a two legged tie. We should have scored at least one to make it a perfect result. Yet utd need to win to go through and so do we, their away goal doesn't make too much difference.

19 Feb 2016 20:04:27
Dear me, the expectations of some 'fans'on here. Even when we had the best manager ever, we had the occasional poor away result (Dynamo Tiblisi, Trabzonspor, etc) . We're still in it and that's all that matters currently.

From what everybody is saying, Klopp is working his butt off and that's all I ask. Give him time and everything will work out just fine.

19 Feb 2016 21:00:17
Thanks Ron. You are very kind.

19 Feb 2016 21:55:04
Harry just cause you was a topper at school and collage as you put it, it's quite obvious you know very little about the subject of this site which is football lad!

20 Feb 2016 00:42:50
At no point did i criticise klopp, doubt him or demand he do better.

I'm just stating a fact. Since we won the league cup in 2012 literally every cup apperance for us is a painful affair where we don't even look like we care whether we go out or not.

How you can possibly say that a 0-0 draw against anybody, no matter who the opposition is, is 'getting the result' is beyond me.

The objective of a football match is to score more goals than the other team. Did we do that? No.

Did we even get an away goal to make the second half of the tie easier? No.

Where the hell in all that is success in any form whatsoever? Klopp was fuming at half time because he knew what was happening, and i imagine he was fuming that we couldn't muster up 1 measly goal during the 90 minutes either.

And yes actually, if we drew 0-0 against west brom i would still be disappointed, i can't believe someone has actually just set that as a barometer for something to be happy about.

I'm sorry if it sounds like i'm being venemous in having a go at everyone here but i really don't see how people thought that performance and result was a 'success' or 'good' in any way.

19 Feb 2016 16:07:55
OMG you have to hunt down Suarez's goal in training.

Believable3 Unbelievable10

19 Feb 2016 15:53:46
Hi Eds, to me Lucas Moura is a similar situation to Coutinho. Both moved to big clubs (Inter and PSG) prehaps to early in their careers. Both showed plenty of promise, and Coutinho since moving to Liverpool has got stronger and better. Can only see the same happening to Lucas, if he does move to us.

Believable3 Unbelievable9

19 Feb 2016 17:28:01
Is he moving to us? Havent seen anything like that but wouldn't turn him down.

{Ed002's Note - Wasn't he announced at the same time as Granit Xhaka last night - just before the game at Augsburg?}

20 Feb 2016 00:06:56
aren't we buying a complete team of german based footballers ed 002? I look forward to seeing your list of players we are interested in.

19 Feb 2016 15:26:33
Question for Ed 01 .

Hope you are well mate.

What do you think about playing Coutinho or Firminho as one of the midfield three, then leaving space for another attacker with pace up front.

For instance.

Firminho Can Henderson/ Milner

Coutinho Origi Sturbridge.

Cheers

Macca.

Believable6 Unbelievable2

{Ed001's Note - I think Coutinho and Firmino work too well together to leave one out. If anything, maybe drop Coutinho into a deeper role to create a space for Origi. I would certainly not leave one out.}

19 Feb 2016 15:52:04
Been saying this for ages meself mate.
Personally, I'd use a diamond with Coutinho as one of the sides and Firmino either at the tip, or as the deeper of the 2 strikers in front of it.
I understand people may have reservations about Coutinho here, but Cazorla plays in a similarly deep position for Arsenal and has excelled there.
I also believe a diamond would get more of our better attacking players on the pitch, at the same time.
However, I don't think Klopp favours this formation (unfortunately)?

{Ed001's Note - Couts has played as a central midfielder for us before and was excellent.}

19 Feb 2016 15:53:31
Sorry Ed, i meant play them both but one deeper.

{Ed001's Note - defo then, Couts in central midfielder.}

19 Feb 2016 16:04:34
Macca good to hear from you again mate.

19 Feb 2016 16:05:47
Thats what i meant Ed, both of them playing but one deeper.

Cheers

Macca.

{Ed001's Note - I would defo do that, but it would need to be a very disciplined mid alongside Couts.}

19 Feb 2016 16:24:20
agreed. coutinho was class when he played in the middle 3 - 2013/ 14 season.

19 Feb 2016 17:31:17
I agree with the diamond approach, have been thinking it for a while.

Coutinho in the left hand side central role, henderson right, lucas holding, firmino at the tip and sturridge and origi/ ings up front.

I think we should give that a try, but obviously, i'm not the manager.

I'd just like to see, at the very least, jurgen give chances to the plethora of young wingers we have - ojo, ibe, kent, markovic (if he comes back) etc.

19 Feb 2016 17:53:44
Anonymous

I doubt Klopp would field such. That's too much attacking to me and he would prefer 3 CM instead ( my summation how he has set up through out this season )

As Ed01 said to have that kind of set up you need a very screwed CM alongside Coutinho.

19 Feb 2016 18:07:22
I agree with continho in a deeper role but I don't see the diamond thing working to well, for me it would feel a bit unbalanced only really having 1 DCM and poss a right sided midfield player who would track back. I'd prefer Coutinho in a mid 3 with x2 DCM then three attacking players 2 of which out wide with pace and can track back when required.

19 Feb 2016 18:27:22
It worked brilliantly in 2013/ 14, we conceded a lot but that was with gerrard in the holding role, who couldn't defend, and the dodgiest defence ever, which is still in the process of being fixed.

19 Feb 2016 19:13:53
Any news on potential transfers Macca?

Thanks.

19 Feb 2016 19:36:12
AW

Gerrard was directly or indirectly responsible for 60% of the goals scored in that season. Who do you think would spray passes like him today?
His passing is first class.

19 Feb 2016 19:46:17
'A very screwed CM'?

20 Feb 2016 00:46:09
I wasn't criticising his contributions going forward at all harry, he complemented our forwards very well that year.

Truth is though that he, along with skrtel, johnson and mignolet all contributed to the ridiculous amount of goals we conceded that year. He couldn't defend properly like lucas can, and lucas isn't even a top class holding mid.

19 Feb 2016 14:02:47
Hi Eds,
Do you know why Flanagan isn't getting more of a run out? Are they just carefully easing him back in?

Believable3 Unbelievable8

{Ed002's Note - Right. They won't take too many risks.}

19 Feb 2016 13:56:05
Good day all reds and eds, long time reader but not much of a poster! I'm going to Liverpool for the first time in my life in April while Stoke are coming to visit the off the boil cauldron that is Anfield. I haven't managed to secure tickets for the game against Stoke but I'm coming to Liverpool to get a stadium tour a day before the game.
Now, the thing is that my missus is treating me to this as its near the time of my birthday so we're spending the Friday, including the weekend, in Liverpool. I was wondering if there are any places in Liverpool that show the game but you can also have a few cocktails as the missus will be with me. I don't want to go to an all lads kind of bruiser pub, where everyone is off their hooker. I would like to go somewhere that sells good food, which sells cocktails and is near the City Centre. But, is also a nice venue where there will be an okay balance of genders.
I hope some of the posters that live in Merseyside will be able to help out! And hopefully for my birthday next year I can finally realise my life long dream and see the red boys play on the holy grail of Anfield.
Thanks guy! YNWA

Ps my uncles gardener has a son who's friend's auntie is the dinner lady at the school that Steven Gerrard's second cousin's daughter used to go to. He said Ken Aguero is going to sign a pre contract agreement with Liverpool after his latest move to Southampton broke down. Apparently the sign on fee is about £52 and a pack of rolos. He will be given the number 1 shirt and hopefully he can put a word in for us with regards to Lee Messi.
Straight out the horse's mouth!

Love this site, long may it live!

19 Feb 2016 15:11:08
Hope you have a fantastic day buddy.
Love the Lee Messi link. Fingers crossed! What do you think Ed002. Are you a fan of Lee Messi?

{Ed002's Note - Cute kid.}

19 Feb 2016 19:39:20
MCR, the Albert Dock will have all you need and is a stones throw from city centre so plenty of choice within a mile or two.

19 Feb 2016 19:37:36
Depends on what you like but Hannah's near the bombed out church is pretty chilled to watch match, near city centre, do cocktails and food.

{Ed025's Note - a very good choice there RD...you could also watch the match in Hannah,s then walk over the road to Bistro Jacques restaurant which is french cuisine at very reasonable prices and i recommend it, you can book it on 0151 709 1998..have a great time mate..

20 Feb 2016 00:15:31
Thanks for the replies guys and eds! I'll definitely have a look at the places that have been mentioned! I can't wait and I'm absolutely buzzing for it! Hopefully the red boys won't let us down! Thanks again everyone!
YNWA.

{Ed007's Note - And if you go into that Bistro Jacques you'll spot an old git in an Everton top feeding his face for free for on the back of that shameless plug!}

19 Feb 2016 13:29:44
Why is everyone so panicked about having to play a strong team in the second leg? It's 70 hours before the cup final. That's just under 3 days.

If professional athletes can't play tice in 70 hours after having a 7 day rest then they're not athletes!

Most jack the lads play amateur games on Saturday and then the next morning in the Sunday league! 70 hours is more than enough time to recover and we have the next 7 days to work on our gameplan and tactics for both the Augsburg and Man City games.

Besides, if you're a believer of the mythical "match fitness", you probably don't want our players having 10 days off before the final.

Believable8 Unbelievable7

19 Feb 2016 14:12:34
I think the threat of injuries has more to do with it ems. if we had a few goals in the bag we could rest some of our bigger players for Wembley. The nightmare would be injuries to coutinho, sturridge and firmino for example. I hope you are well and good luck with your job hunting. love reading your posts.

19 Feb 2016 14:57:11
I also think the fact that City has two games prior to the final including an away game at Kiev, makes this less of an issue.

19 Feb 2016 15:27:54
And hopefully won't go to extra time and penalties!

19 Feb 2016 22:59:13
I seem to remember last season after the away game at Besiktas, people thought we would not be able to perform vs City at Anfield because City had two extra days and we virtually ha one to no days rest. That didn't stop us from handily giving them the business in that game dominating them handily. All this rest stuff is excuses. The Wembley final is our biggest game of the season and if you're not ready to play a Cup final at Wembly then you don't have a pulse nor any adrenaline pumping in your veins and I suggest you don't bother showing up.

19 Feb 2016 12:23:03
Hi eds, not lfc related ...

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - I have dealt with this before so you could try the search engine - but this is not the page to open it on again.}

19 Feb 2016 11:57:50
I understand that some people seem positive with yesterday's result but I myself have mixed feelings.

We should have taken our chances when we got them. The reason for my anxiety is the away goal thing.

If they score even one goal at Anfield then we have to score twice.

Also Sturridge, Coutinho and Hendo won't be playing the complete game as we have the final against City so probably Benteke will come on at some point and we all know the problems he is facing in front of the goal.

Just sating we should have done better yesterday.

Anyways what's done is done, hope we get the early goal at Anfield to calm the nerves.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

19 Feb 2016 12:18:55
If you don't think we can score 2 against them at home, then last nights result is great!

19 Feb 2016 14:28:08
I usually avoid to give my view on the last match or so, because unlike the Ed's and some of our fellow Reds, my football knowledge is limited at best.

Maybe I should keep my view to myself, but I hate to say it, last nights game was quite unpleasant wo watch! Mainly because I saw a team of players that played their game with composure and the will to surpass themselves. And unfortunately is wasn't our team.

Don't get me wrong, our boys did what they could, but I missed a team. I think those guys all know how to play football individually, but they don't work as a team. You might be right to argue that Augsburg played their 4th game since the winterbreak and we played about the 1475th game since christmas, and no winterbreak, ok. But that can't be the only reason.

So many individual mistakes cannot only be due to fatigue, but also to a lack of composure and maybe individual quality. And yet, the individual quality of our players is far higher thant that of the Augsburg team.

Nevertheless it's my team and I'll support them through thick an thin. But your thoughts would interest me.

19 Feb 2016 23:00:39
It was a very poor game by our boys. Very disjointed and lacking focus. Must do better next time.

19 Feb 2016 11:01:59
Which all players do u like to see at Liverpool :

1) Gotze
2) Xhaka
3)Subotic

And a straight swap : Benteke to Leverkuesen and Chicharito Comming to Liverpool.

Believable2 Unbelievable11

19 Feb 2016 11:19:56
Subotic is a possibility while Xhaka is the necessity.

19 Feb 2016 11:38:05
Not bothered about Xhaka, I don't see what the big deal is with him, a load of money for a half decent player. Massively overrated.
Subotic is unlikely with Matip coming.

Götze is a class player as is Sane but if they came it would likely mean a mass clearout and I'd worry about the futures of Markovic, Ojo and Teixeira.

19 Feb 2016 12:58:54
We desperately need a top class keeper, that is for sure.

19 Feb 2016 13:04:34
Lucas Moura would be nice, ed002 said we had him watched earlier on in the season so could be possible.

19 Feb 2016 23:01:49
Moira won't be coming for the money he will command as well as being preferred to Cavani.

19 Feb 2016 10:33:36
Hi Eds, ...............

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - Try the European pages Liam - nothing to do with Liverpool.}

19 Feb 2016 10:45:02
I know the result of this but am i the only one. who thinks couts is better on the left. Is it he gets more space or something.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

19 Feb 2016 10:56:44
Some time ago Ed01 said something about his role and I pretty much agree with him on this one.
Give Coutinho the free role. Play him left or right. He will cut inside and run through the middle. That's where he is so brutal. Moreno and Coutinho did combine well with Coutinho cutting inside and Moreno pushing high up.

19 Feb 2016 11:39:01
He's always looked better on the left, no idea why 😄.

19 Feb 2016 13:39:44
Certainly like him more on the left - seems to both score and create more when he is playing there. I really think it looks potentially lethal with Coutinho on the left and Firmino centrally just behind Sturridge. If you add a good and pacy winger on the right - could be Ibe or Markovic in time or somebody else - i think we have a great foundation attacking-wise.

19 Feb 2016 23:04:00
He's been given the free role behind the striker and has been poor which is why he's better on the wing where he can come in centrally and see a wider pitch in which to slide in those deadly thru balls with the outside of his foot that I adore.

19 Feb 2016 09:46:22
Hiya lads am I the only one who thinks we played well yesterday? Okay we never created much but our defence looked solid. We were so right and compact especially in Europe aswell and away from home. I for one am happy with the result auberg is a team who should not be underestimated at all. Sick of a lot of fans on here moaning and knit picking every chance they get.

Believable16 Unbelievable5

19 Feb 2016 10:16:16
And I am a bit tired of fans who gets enthusiastic after a 0:0 draw. It was the same after the first games with West Ham and Exeter. But then it was at least the youngsters. Yesterday we played our best team.

The aim in football is to score goals which we didn't do yesterday. You can say whatever you want about how great Augsburg are but they 14 in the Bundesliga out of 18 teams and there are much stronger teams in this competition which we hope to win.

We were solid defensively but they still had at least 3 good chances which a team with better forwards would score.

If we win next week then no one cares about yesterday, but first of all it is a big 'if' and second, it still wouldn't make yesterday's performance a good one.

Any game in which you don't score and don't create much unless maybe you play Barcelona or Real Madrid or Bayern Munich away, is not a great game.

19 Feb 2016 10:34:34
Agreed. Although I've ranted about it enough for this morning ha.

19 Feb 2016 10:39:28
So what about if we had played the first leg already won that 1-0 and then went to Augsburg and did a job like we did last night? As far as I'm concerned we are stronger favourites now then before the kick off so job 1 done.

19 Feb 2016 10:52:22
Kloppo said he is satisfied with the result but not the performance.
I think I agree with that. We didn't play well, we weren't consistent and we can do better.
We all know the team can do better so I think we just put it down to an off day which produced a decent result and move on.
I'd rather we play like that is the first leg of a Europa game than in a league game.
We have 14-21 games left depending on how far we go in Europa.
I like the fact Kloppo said he's not really a patient man. I think some of the players are on thin ice with him, I'm thinking of Benteke.

19 Feb 2016 11:15:02
I thought we played well.
I'd have bet my house on Sturridge scoring that tap in.
Plus the pitch was in a dreadful state.
And have you seen our record in Germany?
There's an article on the LIverpool Echo website called
"Why omens point to a difficult night for Liverpool FC in Germany"
This is the first paragraph
"Reds have won only twice in 16 matches in visits to face teams from manager's homeland"
Two times in sixteen attempts.
We should be happy.
We came away with a draw and it's all set up for a home victory on our lovely flat pitch at Anfield.
ps Check out the Chelsea page. The positivity on there after they lost 2-1 to PSG is commendable. Liverpool "fans" take note.

19 Feb 2016 12:47:25
Fanobip why have you just compared Europe to the English cup games? It's a totally different ball game I'm sorry for being enthusiastic for being happy we never conceded again. Yes we had chances but a Sturridge with 10 games under his belt would of smashed that in. I just feel asif everyone thinks ay it's only ausberg that when stuff goes bad we didn't we gave them the respect they deserve your banging on about them being 14th. When it was last year they finished 5th so don't have ago at people for being positive.

19 Feb 2016 08:57:16
Agree or disagree. Hendo- milner-can exactly same players, work hard closing and winning ball back but no creativity at all to split a defence or with quick thinking passes, tink we seriously lack a confident open minded central mid player brave enough to try any pass, as coutinho soley bears the pressure of creating chances for others. with firminio still settling. while these 3 in midfield keep playing wide passes which don't end much. or obvious through balls which they can't complete. just my opinion don't ate me 😆. YNWA.

Believable7 Unbelievable10

19 Feb 2016 09:11:12
Totally agree, last night Coutinho was out wide where he is least effective.

We need a wide player with pace and sit Coutinho behind Sturridge.

As you say there isn't much creativity from can, henderson and milner.

19 Feb 2016 09:11:14
Absolutely agree and highlighted yesterday. We severely lack a paid good midfielder who opens up defense and one reason the team heavily depends on Coutinho to make things happen.

19 Feb 2016 09:38:38
We should of played smith at lb and played Moreno left wing with coutinho just behind Sturridge.

{Ed001's Note - the injured Smith?}

19 Feb 2016 09:40:19
I agree we could be better if we had a player of the kind of Sanchez or Di Maria. Someone like Ozil can also help. I don't think that Henderson, Milner or Can are similar players though. Can likes to run with the ball through the centre, Henderson will always look to make a pass, including some longer passes, he is the only one we have who sometime go for a long ball and is quite accurate. Milner will try everything, running with the ball, crossing, passing. 9 our of 10 times he will lose the ball although in the tenth he wil get an assist or even a goal. None of the three is top class unfortunatley although yesterday the movement of the three in front of them wasn't brilliant either.

19 Feb 2016 10:39:46
Completely agree with you mate. How we missed Gerard in this type of game. I don't know what is happening with Hendo and Can but they have made little progress in their game since joining us. This season should be their last one. If they did not up their game and we end the season without a trophy and missed the Champion League, then we should replaced them in the first team with proven midfielders.

19 Feb 2016 11:01:43
It's all very well saying we should be replacing players who are under performing but it's not as simple as that. Some club will have to take Hendo and Can off our hands firstly, then we have to persuade these proven players to join us with no Champions league and no trophies for 4 years.

It's unlikely.

My assessment of Hendo and Can : Hendo is still finding his way back into form after 2-3 months out. Being able to run pass and shoot in training is a lot different to the intensity of a PL game. He needs match fitness the same as Sturridge.
Can is jaded. This season he has played too many games IMO sometimes in defence and sometimes in attack. I think he needs a couple of games on the bench, and a bit of 1-1 training. He needs to learn when and how to play 1 touch football, he needs to learn to release the ball quickly and keep the pressure on the opposition.
He's a good player, he's just found it tricky adjusting to the pace of the PL especially when he's played in multiple positions.

19 Feb 2016 12:53:52
Sorry ed I thought he was fit been caught up with work latley so I haven't had time to look at the injury list mate.

19 Feb 2016 16:42:22
I agree with Ron there like, Hendo needs time. don't forget he has his injury to deal with hopefully it bursts and he recovers as he still has a future with liverpool.

19 Feb 2016 08:35:44
I have a conspiracy theory.
When premiership teams like Liverpool, the mancs etc play a first leg away in Europe against inferior opposition would they contemplate not winning by 2 or 3 goals for fear of playing in front of a half empty stadium during the 2nd leg.
I've often felt players do not put in a full shift in such games and occasionally wondered if teams are under instruction not to finish off the tie in the first leg.
Both Liverpool and the mancs will be assured a full house for the return leg now.

Ye sure, this is why we didn't score yesterday.

19 Feb 2016 09:11:31
Absolutely no chance.

19 Feb 2016 09:13:17
Disagree. We have a cup final on Sunday and the last thing we want is another 120 mts at Anfield and more. Should have dispatched the game yesterday giving the senior players some rest in the second leg and games for the youngsters.
Now we have two crucial games in the span of 48 hours.

{Ed001's Note - we were never going to 'dispatch' the game yesterday.}

19 Feb 2016 10:07:46
With our defense at times this season even if we had won 3/ 4-0 if we conceded an early goal at anfield it would still be nervous!

19 Feb 2016 11:03:53
I think and hope Trevor is getting into the spirit of banter and joking about his theory, he's not daft 😄.
Old Trafford and Anfield would not be half empty at all and he knows it. 😉.

Mng Eds
This one for Ed03. The one thing I enjoyed yesterday in the live chat was Ed03.

He is class. 😂😂😂.

Believable0 Unbelievable4

{Ed001's Note - that's not really a good advert for him, trolls love him.....}

19 Feb 2016 07:10:53
He called you a baffooon 😂😂😂 out of nowhere.

{Ed001's Note - and your point is?}

19 Feb 2016 07:19:21
Nothing mate. I was just kidding. No offense buddy.

19 Feb 2016 08:08:54
Ed01, If you are around, Do you have any plans for Easter? Are you back to UK? I might travel ll down to Middle East and if possible would like to meet you up.

Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - I can't afford to do anything at the moment mate. Have to sort out my visa now, as my current one is about to expire, so will be here.}

19 Feb 2016 08:26:00
That's Kool mate. Will meet up there. I would text you the details of my stay. Preferably on a match day. Do you watch it outside?

{Ed001's Note - no, I watch it at home, so I don't get stuck being asked about transfers while trying to watch the game like I used to get all the time when I went to a bar to watch it.}

19 Feb 2016 03:56:07
people really get on the team in here. i think a clean sheet away result in a European competition is a big result. also lack of credit given to Augsburg, i think they showed about themselves in the highest way, very welcoming fans. Also Augsburg has done well in this competition. it was a decent performance and we should be able to progress to next round at anfield ( albeit with a bit of drama like a 93rd minute winner from origi :P ) .
i think we did well, remember we could have easily lost this game as our season has been and then it could have been a mountain to climb.

19 Feb 2016 06:47:05
We were poor and I am not sure what game where you watching. I slept during the first half. Giving credit to opposition whenever we play dire isn't ideal.
That was the possibly the strongest and best 11 mind you. there is no one to come back.

{Ed001's Note - you would have hated the era when we won everything in Europe, as the aim was always to play like that in away legs. Some of the whines are embarrassing. You didn't even watch it and you think you are in a position to give an opinion on the performance! Just shut up about the performance until you have seen it.}

19 Feb 2016 07:09:19
Love Ed01's reply!

19 Feb 2016 07:11:59
I did watch the game Ed01 infact I saw us doing nothing in the first 45 mts. Not sure which game are we discussing here. I might be wrong.

{Ed001's Note - so you slept during the first half but still call that watching? Give it a rest, I am bored of your trolling already today.}

19 Feb 2016 07:18:32
I am sorry Ed01. I ll get used to such kind of performance without any complaints. I am not going to credit the opposition. Just because we were poor.

{Ed001's Note - we were the better side, we kept a clean sheet away in Europe. I do not understand why a few people think this is a bad thing. We were compact and kept things tight at the back. Hardly poor. Just an excuse for trolls to whine.}

19 Feb 2016 07:26:59
on what basis do you say that. i think you have slept through the season and woke up only to watch the aston villa game. mate we have been performing like this through the seasons and we have lost games performing similarly through errors and mistakes. yesterday was a decent result there were no visible glaring mistakes so to speak of. largely we defended well when we had to.
this is our strongest team on what basis? two of our best players just returned from injury and most of that defense with the keeper is shambles and we still have the result to have a real go at anfield. i don't know what you are on about. it is a good result, just not the best result. its not the end of the world for LFC as you make it sound. Manchester united lost, could have happened to us or any team. In a competition like this every team is good and at their home they give it a real go. we scraped through it unscathed.

19 Feb 2016 08:07:55
I had my opinion just like you Akshit. According to me it was a poor performance. You could glorify it to an average performance. And I am confident Klopp had a good look at some of the players and thier perfromance and infact he himself said similar in his post match interview.
We were sloppy in possession and gave away too many times. Our midfield got bypassed by the opposition on many times.

{Ed001's Note - again, how can you have an opinion on something you admitted sleeping through? Pointless conversation this. If you haven't seen it, you have no idea if the performance is good or not.}

19 Feb 2016 08:29:40
Well I did saw large part Ed01. We were far away from spectacular of some here actually thinks.
Our problem under Rodgers were ther to be seen. Slow build up and no real push in the first half lead me to sleep in between. On the other hand our midfield were bypassed by opposition on more than once mainly due non presence of a top class Natual DM who does break up the play.
Moreno did charge on a couple of Occassion only time we actually used the width. We were wasteful in possession.

Klopp share the same view as I explained above in his post match conference.

we should have done a lot lot better than what we did yesterday.

That's my take on the match What I saw.

{Ed001's Note - nobody has said we were spectacular. However we were not poor, it was a professional performance that could be better. I remember when every European match was like that. It is why I am not a fan of European football, it tends to be turgid.}

19 Feb 2016 08:43:04
I think he meant falling asleep as a metaphor for boredom. I thought we played ok defensively, though they did have some good chances. Going forward we did very little. The important thing in awsy gamed is scoring those valuable away goals which we didn't. There are much stronger sides in this competition then Au gsburg who are bottom half. of the Bunbesliga so us going all the way in this competition bases on yesterday perpormance lookse unlikely.

19 Feb 2016 09:16:12
Now we are coming closer to the point Ed01. The reason I was Dissapointed as we had the the ball in our court and we never used it. Should have put the game in the first leg and give youngsters a chance in the second.
I always prefer the first game to taken seriously than the return leg.

On another note I really missed Stewart. He has become a very essential player in my eyes.

{Ed001's Note - it is never going to be an attacking match, European football just is not that type of game. It is always sitting back avoiding defeat away.}

19 Feb 2016 10:09:27
I really don't know why they make it that way, a poor side is a poor side and this year Augsberg are that, go at them and get a result, This whole thing about European football is correct but I really don't know why,
Anyway I thought we were bang average, granted it was a 0-0 away in a European tie but we were hardly playing Madrid, Henderson does not look the same player and is definitely carrying a problem that's all aside from the fact that if we want to win major trophies he's not the man to lead the line at all, Milner, slow, Can I just don't know what he does, I can see promise in all areas even Migs had a half decent game even though he didn't have loads to do but our midfield is woefully slow and I wouldn't be surprised one bit to find most of it gone in the summer,
Steady result but average performance from where I was watching.

19 Feb 2016 10:14:42
On what basis is Stewart "essential"?
A good prospect yes deserving of more chances between now and the end of the season yes. But essential is way over the top for a player who hasn't started a non domestic cup game if I'm not mistaken. Coutinho and sturridge could be argued to be essential but way to much on Stewart's shoulders for him to be essential or change our midfield the way you so desperately crave!

19 Feb 2016 10:31:45
Shanek

Y the lad is a necessity, because he is the only player that has the positional sense over our current CM. we deployed Can and Henderson yesterday and Ausberg bypassed us more than 5 times through the middle. Stewart is a good reader of the game as well his positional sense is top class to me.
You got to play a natural holding player as your DM than a CM.

That's my opinion.

{Ed001's Note - if you don't commit both fullbacks at the same time you do not need a DM.}

19 Feb 2016 10:43:14
Essential reqlly harry the kid has played what 2 games for us.

19 Feb 2016 10:51:08
Harry forgive me if I'm not mistaken but were you not also clambering for a natural winger at the start of the season and begging for ibe to be played. Now you've slated him quite a lot just this morning.
If Stewart starts having bad performances; and by no means is it guaranteed if Stewart was playing that anything would have changed; then would you start slating him?

19 Feb 2016 10:54:20
Also how the hell do you judge someone's complete positional sense over about 200 mins. It's all about adaptability to constantly changing scenarios and should be judged over a lot longer than 200 mins for you to conclude it's class.
