next week will be a very busy time at Anfield. Mostly outgoings. There will be at least one more signing, two at the most. Forget G Cahill, he won't be signing for us. It will be Arsenal if he leaves. Shawcross or Metersaker will sign for us, not sure who.
I think we will sign a cover striker. who is anyones guess. (The Red Oracle)

P.S. If i'm wrong I will pots again and appologise to everone.

35 million for Carroll. We could have had Aguero for that.
Sell Aquilani and Mireiles.
Let us buy boring British workaday players.

Hello to the editors and my fellow LFC supporters. Like many true fans before me, i claim to have no sources and no friends or family linked to our famous club, but i do know that i visit this site many times during the day for updates and i have the uttmost respect to the guys who run this site, coz they must get really pissed with all the rubbish rumours that are spread every half hour, but the editors continue to inform of all the goings on that they are led to believe r true from their sources. Guys, keep it up, top work and i think i can say on behalf of all the true reds that we appreciate it. Lets all hope for a good season and next season champions league football, which is where we belong. I wasnt too sure of Kenny come back at first , but i have been proven wrong and as long as we pick up from our top form in the latter part of last season, i believe the glory days will come back to Anfield and we will have that premier league tiltle at Anfield and we will be the best team in the Premiership which is what we all expect.

Tomorrow against a depleted Arsenal side i expect a victory of 2-1 or 3 - 1 in our favour. We have still to gel but i believe we can suceed.

I apologies if that seemed like a rant, but i felt i needed to comment.

Youll Never Walk Alone my friends.

Hi ED, Whats our chances of getting Messi? All these names being chucked about, thought I might as well just try the best. Think he would be good squad player for Carling Cup etc

BREAKING NEWS...................Liverpool FC are in the market for a CB and possibly a striker. Reports suggest KK is looking at either GC or SD......We have no other news on whether any bids have been made.......
That's it in a nutshell, stop posting dopey rumours and just wait for one of the EDS to make an announcement when or if there is any movement

Keep up the good work guys...................

I agree that with the posters who named his team for tomorrow and most of the post after that as well. 2 things i do disagree with is that we'll have recognised centre back on the bench as in Soto or Skertl if fit even though Kelly can play their. Cant see 2 young full backs in Flanaghan and Robinson being sub, Flano will be used as cover for both fullback sides imo. Can also see Maxi on the bench tomorrow as well. I'd always have him on the bench because he's always a goal threat and gets into some great positions at the far stick. Think Aqualani should be on the bench against a team like Arsenal,might just suit him playing ,maybe he can leave us in some style. Good post though. Jonson6

Ed do you know of any interest in adel tarabt anymore as we were linked earlier in the window? i know he is a risk but he is proven in england and will provide an added spark also very versatile {Ed001's Note - there was never any interest in him from Liverpool, it was nonsense based on DC being the one to sign him for Spurs.}

I hope now that the deadwood is gone.....we can finally give Raul the pay hike he deserves and let him stay.

I still belive that AC Milan or some other Italian side will make a move Aqualani.

But honestly I am getting this feeling that we might swap Aqualani + Cash for some player from Seria either Jovetic, Lavezzi or even Zarate.

Or to Ligue 1 in swap for Jimmy Briand,André Ayew,Loïc Rémy,Yoan Gouffran

Or La Liga for Diego Perotti,Iker Muniain,Antoine Griezmann.

But ED wouls love to get Aqualani swapped with either of the 2 Davide Santon or Philippe Coutinho.

Marko Arnautović would be ideal striker to come off from bench.

Not a rumour but a question: does anyone know what the game is the players seem to always be playing in the pics on lfc.tv... the one where they are flicking each others ears?

Anyone know the logic behind doing this?

Btw, it is great to see them all having a laugh together

RWM: Boudebouz, Payet, Mata, Perotti, Jeffren, Hazard (not likely to happen until earliest in january)

RF/CF/LF/ST: Sturridge, Ruiz, Remy, Lavezzi, Higuain, Rossi (last two i can't see unless we wait until next summer)Dead wood to be cleared out now or within a year: 1.Jones, 2.Degen (could be on his way to QPR), 3.Kyrgiakos, 4.Insua, 5.Poulsen, 6.J Cole, 7.El Zhar (gone to Levante), 8.Ngog (could be on his way to Bolton)

Other players to go, go out on loan or retire: 1.Pacheco (looks like he's on his way to Rayo Vallecano on loan), 2.Amoo (it feels like he's heading out, perhaps just on loan), 3.D Wilson (was a lot of talk about him going on a loan back to Glasgow, but i don't know), 4.Maxi (don't think he'll stay longer than this season out), 5.Aquilani (good player, but too many rumours, don't know if he'll go now in August though), 6.Meireles (could be on his way if the right bid comes along), 7.Aurelio (don't think he'll play more than this and maybe next season, then retire or going back to Brazil), 8.Carragher (will retire after this season or maybe next)

Heard there is still money available for transfers thats not the problem the problem is the wage bill with the fair play rules coming in thats why were not asking for fees for milan,nabil ect kenny still has funds because FSG know the longer were out the champs league the longer it will take to turn around a profit and they have a 5 year plan. please post on rumours, chambo27.

I really hope we dont sell Raul, and certainly not a another prem side, get Aquilani out and give Raul his promised pay increase. He's a top player

ED a bit of a different question, but pictures of training have just been put up on the Liverpool website, do you know what the seeming obbsession with flicking eachothers ears in every pictured training session is? {Ed002's Note - I guess it has replaced flicking each other with wet towels - probably a Health and Safety thing.}

Exactly when did we LFC supporters become so intolerent, impatient, resentful and sometimes downright rude? OK, some posts are the same thing over and over but do they deserve some of the abuse they get (it's not the posters that have to answer, it's the Eds). Do posters think they are bigger or better supporters if they shout or abuse others. We all agree that the Eds do a fantastic job and I'm sure they get annoyed with certain post and questions but they don't abuse people. What gives us the right to abuse, shout and rant at our fellow supporters? Where the hell is our sense of humour gone? Chill out and let people ask their questions, post their rumours and banter. If you don't agree or like, just ignore. We are supposed to be the best supporters and have the best sense of humour but I don't see much of that lately Good work Eds and some regular posters, stop taking yourselves so seriously

19 Aug 2011 15:33:49
Hey Ed - I have it on good authority that we are being linked with none other than - wait for it - Gary Cahill.

Owen Coyle has denied any approach from Liverpool FC for Mr Cahill. And is pleased that Gary remains focused on Saturdays game. So it seems more of the same for EDs next week. more speculation, more pestering and maybe more people ringing bookmakers assking if they have heard anything about Gary Cah. Its odds on if we make an approach it will be the final day of the transfer window.

The transfer windows get more and more crazy,more intreaguing and I know you EDs get bombarded with daft questions and the readers on this site can't read between the lines no matter how clear put our info over. But and it is a big "BUT". Is the transfer window more exiting for some football fans than the football season itself?

Lets be honest ED's you love it as much as most on this site and give yourselfs credit for producing a very addictive site.
The only thing I don't like is the stick you EDs reieve at times, nor the stick posters recieve if users don't agree with peoples posts.

My feeling on the of chances Gary Cahill arriving at Anfield are not very good. He is a cracking player and Bolton are desperate to keep hold of their best players, which in my opinion He is. Owen Coyle seems pretty determined to keep hold of him right now. and Bolton have some players out long term. So I feel January there would be a great chance of us signing him then. if we are intersted in him.

Thanks KB {Ed001's Note - personally I hate the transfer windows and would love a return to the old way of transfers being able to be done all through the season.}

19 Aug 2011 15:20:10
ed if we get rid of poulsen,meireles and aqua
do u think we could buy gotze or the japanese lad from borussia or pjanic from lyon, top players with flair, just wat we need i think {Ed001's Note - no.}

19 Aug 2011 14:58:06
personally i think all we lacked last season was a good solid defence... we need a player like gary cahill.. scott dann... i would personally prefer cahill but hey id take either at this minute... cahill/dann and skrtel/agger at the back would be a promising and strong defence... i also believe we should try and use players to lure other players... mainly because it looks like nobody wants our fringe players... i think we should offer ngog and poulsen plus cash for cahill.. i think then we could use aquallini and offer him plus cash for lennon... i also think we should then buy a decent striker.. maybe not somebody world class.. but someon who can serve his purpose... for instance jermain defoe... would love to see him in a liverpool shirt... i think we should then try buy adam johnson... yes it probably is unlikely but he's a class player.. i also think that we need to play young flano give him game time he looks good... i also think we should play young kelly he was class before he got injured... i think if we were to sign the above players we could push for fourth maybe higher...

19 Aug 2011 14:52:04
Eds on the 14 th macca posted saying he couldn't get his post up has that been fixed because he hasn't posted anything since great site by the way {Ed002's Note - Please just stop the nonsense questions like this. You are simply wasting everyone's time.}

19 Aug 2011 14:47:36
All this talk of an easy win tomorrow, against a sub strength arsenal team is rubbish. Never never never underestimate arsenal and wenger. I will be happy with a draw, which will be a good result at the emirates.

Hi Ed,
I was just thinking that i am surprised that nobody has mentioned vicente rodriguez from valencia. He is now fully fit, available on a free and I personally think that he would be a great back up option on the wings as he can play left or right. Have you heard of any interest from us?
Thanks. {Ed002's Note - No, no interest.}

19 Aug 2011 14:08:38
I did realise so many players ate out of tomorrow's game through injury or suspension for arsenal, hopefully you should win tomorrow and score a few goals.

19 Aug 2011 13:53:44
So thats moreiles and cole going to arsenal fair play to them, do they want ngog, poulsen and aquaman we could do well here, where do some of you get your rumours from. My old school buddy my a*se, wenger has trouble paying the cleaning lady wages never mind joe coles

19 Aug 2011 13:51:14
Ed who would work well with Luis Suarez as a attacking force. If you could partner him with anyone currently playing {Ed002's Note - I am sorry, but I don't do fantasy football.}

19 Aug 2011 13:40:45
We all love a good rumour and scour the internet for stories, and for the first time in quite a few seasons our pre-season has been filled with exciting and genuine stories and links to players who are going to, and have improved the team.

However, some of the rumours people post / 'make up' are getting a little silly....
E.g. 'My friend is the uncle of a man who once drove past Anfield and has heard we're gonna sign Pele' and then finish it with......'you heard it here first'......or link us to a player who has already signed for someone else e.g. Coentrao etc.

Any chance of a Jackanory section for the total BS rumours Ed's?

Hats off to the guys who do have genuine contacts and to the Ed's for passing on their genuine info. Also to the ED's for answering the ENDLESS enquiries about the same players over and over again, we salute you I, like many others have become addicted to the site and check it 4 or 5 times a day.

Unfortunately I have no contacts so rely solely on this and other sites for my info so I hope the rumours of Cahill and an attacking player come true as with those additions truly believe we can push on for silverware and a min top 4 finish.

Here's to a confident 2-0 (Carroll and Suarez) win tommorow guys.

Mark the Selby Red {Ed002's Note - There is a dodgy rumour section already.}

19 Aug 2011 13:35:49
With all the links supposedly popping up with regard to Raul Meriles i.e Chelsea and now Arsenal interested Surely does should tell us that he is quality and that we shouldnt be letting him go ? I for one hope he stays as I really rate him as a player and think if he gets his wages sorted out he can be a really great player for us. Is it looking like he will go or stay Eds ? great job and site by the way :-) {Ed002's Note - I refer you to earlier answers.}

19 Aug 2011 13:35:19
Next Captain after Stevie G and Carra?

Some possibilities:

Charlie Adam

Martin Kelly

Luis Suarez

Lucas Leiva

Pepe Reina

Who do you think?

19 Aug 2011 13:20:02
hi ed is it true that real madrid want suarez {Ed002's Note - I doubt it.}

Hi all Reds. Have you signed the petition, on KK's Twitter? Justice for the 96. (EJ)

Many thanks

19 Aug 2011 13:12:25
Hi eds,

you seem to have gone from being adamant a big name signing from not signing to very open to the idea. Is there something you're not telling us?#

J {Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you are referring to. If you are expecting Aguero still he is not available.}

19 Aug 2011 13:08:51
If Aquilani is sold, I believe we need a very similar player as his replacement not necessarily a central midfielder, just a technically gifted player. We lack this type of player, as we only have Suarez and Aqua at the moment, and as Aqua is never going to be given a deserved chance we might as well sell him and get a similar player who obviously would be played.
So i'd like to see us sign the following - Godin (14m), Diego (15m), Negredo/Roux (12m/8m)
These players are not likley to sign because of our Prem only transfer policy but I feel that Godin would be a better signing than Cahill, Shawcross or Dann. Diego would add some much needed flair and versatility to our midfield and Negredo or Roux would be decent back up options to our two main men up top. I think at the moment we can gain 4th at best with a couple of new additions though, 3rd could be possible. Although this season, I feel United and City have too much quality, depth and consistency (for UTD) to budge from 1st and 2nd respectively.

Carl {Ed002's Note - Aquilani wants to leave - you make it sound like the club are at fault. Diego will sign for Atletico Madrid.}

19 Aug 2011 12:39:41
Wow how many time does the question need to be asked about Cahill, yes as fans we want answers but let's all just chill out and wait to see what happens in the remaining 12 days of the window because even if he does sign it won't be until towards the end Red4life

19 Aug 2011 12:33:56
So the big news today is Kuyt saying he's fitter than ever.

Great.

Hi Reds, Celtic fan here with an interest in clubs histories, heard Liverpool used to play in Blue? Did you change because of clash with Everton's strip? When and why did club colours become red? Cannot imagine my club Celtic playing in any colour but green. Hail hail Timalloy

{Ed006's Note - We used to play in a blue and white kit, much like Blackburns, as we used to be called Everton. Then there was a fall out with the partners at the club I believe and we changed our name to Liverpool and a different Everton was set up. The kit used to be a red shirt and white shorts this was changed by Shankly to an all red strip as he said it would make the players look bigger and more menacing. That is the best way I can put it.}

Just read something interesting that Jonathan Pearce said in the BBC match preview of Arsenal vs Liverpool.

'Andy Carroll has the height and power to bully them just as Didier Drogba has done so often in the past'

I think this is a really good observation. Although Carroll has had many critics, I think he should de well against a very poor Arsenal defence. Also especially since arsenal are so depleted in the CM area at the moment, people like Adam and Downing will be able to deliver better crosses for him.
Just something to think about ahead of tomorrows game.
Great work as always eds

Paul Merson on SSN has predicted that we'll win 3-1 tomorrow... And for once he has given a fairly fair assessment of things.

I am very optimistic that we're going to win on Saturday, and it's been a while since I felt this confident about going into Arsenal's backyard and getting all 3 points. If Kenny is instilling this much confidence in me, I can only imagine how solid the dressing room must be right now. Happy days. Hopefully a win will start to shut up the doom and gloom merchants who continue to crawl out from under the rocks and tarnish this site with their inane drivel.

Im fed up of posters doubting our team and our ability to do well this season. we have a great squad capable of def finishing fourth and maybe even winning the league if all goes well- its time to support the team and not harp on about this player and that player, get behing the team, King kenny will guide us, YWNA

Hi Ed..
Do your think We should have signed Mata instead of henderson? He and kuyt should have played for right side..saurez carrol and mata...??
Becoz we already have Aqualini and Meirels in Midfield...and we have seen Henderson was poor in right side. I think KK has got it wrong...no Offence Henderson is great talent.but we need someone who scores goals, who is quick and dribbles well...

regarding the Transfer?
Y are we not signing a Striker? do you think saurez, and carrol can manage 60 goals for us..?? Since we are looking at Top 4. we need atleast 3 good strikers.
Chelsea..Torres, drogba, anelka, sturridge
Man utd : Rooney, Hernandez, berbetov and owen
City : tevez, auguero, balletolli, Dzeko,
Spurs : Defoe, pav, Crouch, Adebayor
Arsenal : Vanpersie, Gervincho, chamakh, alex
liverpool : carrol, suarez, kuyt (then Henderson needs to play on right??)

Ed...Whats ur Opinion?? {Ed002's Note - I would guess that you should give support to the players who are at the club, and suggesting after the fact that Mata would have been a better buy than Henderson doesn't really move anyone forward at all. Liverpool had the opportunity to move for Mata but the manager set out looking for Downing - and got him. Liverpool have striking options in Kuyt, Cole and no doubt a couple of youngsters. It is not out of the question that someone else could arrive. Aquilani is considered gone for all intents and purposes and I am not so sure Meireles will be staying either. Perhaps some sort of "Kenny Out" flag at the next game would get your point across?}

Ed002, gun on your head- is Gary Cahill going to sign for LFC?
No flannel.

Westridge {Ed002's Note - This is an example of why it is pointless in providing any sort of useful information. I have explained what I know. I have said repeatedly that I expect a CB and what the options are. So if I say "yes", I then get a mass of abuse if he doesn't sign.}

Tottenham have been linked with an audacious move for a trio of Liverpool players, should they decide to accept the advances of Chelsea and sell star midfielder Luka Modric.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp made it clear yesterday that the club would consider parting with the Croatia midfielder if the funds were sizable enough to land three of four new signings.

"We've got two options with Luka; either we keep a fantastic player or we sell him, get the money and bring in four players and have a better team," declared Redknapp.

"I want him to stay but if he's going I want the opportunity to get other players in. There's no chance the chairman (Daniel Levy) will sell him on the last day of the transfer window. He did that with Berbatov a few years ago and ended up with no strikers. He won't do that again.

"It's a difficult situation for Modric. We all love our club and everything, but what would you do if someone offered to treble your wages? He's had his head turned by the chance to play in a team that could win the Champions League this season and I think people can probably understand that."

Just one day after these comments, Fanatix.com are reporting that Spurs may launch a sensational raid on Anfield as the they and tempt Lucas Leiva, Dirk Kuyt and Joe Cole to leave Liverpool.

Cole was close to joining Spurs at the end of last season when he decided to leave Chelsea but eventually chose Liverpool, where he has struggled to hold down a place in the first team.

Kuyt was also linked with a move to White Hart Lane before he joined Liverpool. Despite being a regular under Rafa Benitez and Roy Hodagson, the Dutch forward has seen the likes of Stewart Downing, Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez all arrive at the club, limiting his first team opportunities.

Brazilian Lucas has also been linked with a potential move away from Anfield, though Liverpool have often stated they would not want to lose the tough tackling midfielder, and could act as a replacement for Wilson Palacios, who appears on the verge of a move.

Should Tottenham bring in £35million from Modric then it is likely that Redknapp will look to make a number of signings before the end of the transfer window, but they may find it difficult to convince the Liverpool trio to make the move.

Hi EDS,

I was wandering if there was any truth in the groundshare rumors Kenwright has said Henry is willing to discuss the possibilty this is a discrace i will burn all bridges with the club if this happens i dont even like sharing a bus with everton fans. And also is is true fenway are involved in the takeover of Roma great job your doing by the way all the eds are great giving us the latest news before print and tv keep it up

Thanks

Raj {Ed002's Note - The owners are well aware the fans would not be happy, but it is possibly a practical solution to a large financial problem facing both clubs - and should not come as a shock. I am sure the Liverpool owners were expecting a better opportunity to be able to work on Anfield to increase the capacity and provide additional revenue. That option seems now to be fading away. A new stadium would require significant investment over and above any deals for naming rights that could be pulled together - remember £100M naming rights deal for 10 years does not go far, when you consider Spurs raised more than £30M from their season in the Champions League after taking account of match day sales. So a balance is required to ensure that sufficient efforts and investments are made to achieve Champions League football as soon as possible. Sustaining a position in the Champions League will go a long way towards paying for a new stadium. FSG are smart and responsible owners - it would be dumb not to explore every option before possibly having to commit to a significant investment and the associated costs.}

Will everyone please stop getting carried away with the idea of Morgan being our substitute striker. He is a 16 year old boy who is light years away from the 1st team and is unlikely to even feature on the bench for a carling cup game for another 12 months.
People keep calling for the likes of Morgan, Coady, Suso and Sterling to be promoted to the 1st team squad but they played along with Shelvey and Robinson in the Next Gen cup the other night and we were soundly beaten at home against Sporting Lisbon.
These boys still have a lot to learn before they are ready to become first team regulars.
Kenny did put his faith in Flanagan last week and that backfired.

hi ed
the fabregas deal is so unusuall
Arsenal has only been paid 15 millions upfront and the rest in instalments.

as far as LFC
I think we have a great chance of pulling it at the north london this saturday.
the latest is that kenny is keen on cahill and showcross.
Bolton is not agreeing on fees for cahill, which might be resolved in the next week after the ngog deal is completed.
ed just a question- el zahr has been released , so have lfc paid his complete wages or not.
Degen will leave,insua will also leave,aqualani will also go .
Cole will stay raul will also stay.
poulsen is the only worry kenny has, as he is not willing to move.

Great work eds.

Red is in my Blood

{Ed006's Note - I am not sure if we have paid him is wages but Im sure that he will have had some kind of pay off. There is no excuse to not go and get a win at Arsenal. They are really going to struggle this season.}

right, i'm sure i'll come in for some serious stick here, but some 'fans' need to stop playing fifa and get real. stop with the higuain and hazard rumours please, you only make yourselves look stupid.
now onto what i think, i would love to see djibril cisse back in a red shirt as replacement for ngog, pace, power, with a tendency for the sublime, but most of all, he was fun, he brought something different to the squad off of the field that we seem to have lacked in this age of over-profesionalism.
i have to say i admire the eds' patience, as you do get some real fantasy football managers on here who of course could all do a much better job than the king himself.
good job, especially ed002 for bringing idiots back down to earth

Everton chairman Bill Kenwright remains determined to find a buyer for the club.

Kenwright continues to insist that any potential purchaser must be the right one to protect the long term future of what he has again described as the 'greatest football club in the world'.

He told evertonfc.com: It's a difficult question and it's an easy question. Firstly, because there's no one out there that has wanted to buy us and secondly for me it's difficult because as you know, as everyone knows, I think it's the greatest football club in the world.

"No, I don't think it's the greatest football club in the world, I know it's the greatest football club in the world.

"We've got a lot of people out there, committed people, like Keith Harris, like banks, agents, lawyers, trying to find the buyer. I thought about saying the right buyer for the Club – and, of course, it has to be the right buyer for the Club - but we're actually trying to find a buyer for the football club.

"We haven't got that billionaire or even multi-multi-millionaire because I'm neither of those things and we really, really do need the buyer that we have been searching to find for three years.

"The maths is simple, we've actually got an income, as you know, in round figures, up to £80m but the costs are £85m so you don't need a calculator to work out what the problem is."

who would want to buy a shadow football club thats situated next to the greatest club in the world? haha

Before anyone says another word I suggest picking up a copy of 'My Liverpool Way' and reading it. There's so much we know about KD on the pitch and as a part of our hostory, but to really be able to speculate how he will manage this club it requires looking below the surface. His footballing values, communication style, players he trusted on the pitch and why he trusted them, what qualities he admired in his managers etcetera et cetera... bottom line is if we want to get a clear picture of what's going on behind closed doors (without raiding the James Bond toolbox) we need to get in sync with what KD is thinking. Then we could make proper judgements on why Andy Carroll or if we're ready to compete bc at the end of the day -despite all the wisdom and opinions of the collective mass of supporters- only one man will directly influence where we stand next May and beyond. I know everyone thinks they know best, but who cares? We're here to support LFC and to join them on this journey to the top- not tops in EPL, but tops in Europe- and the man who's in charge has the experience to make it happen. Only question is how he'll go about it, so again- get to know Kenny and then we may begin to speculate how the future will play out. In Kenny we trust. YNWA azkop
