Liverpool Rumours
Chinese businessman Kenny Huang is set to give up on purchasing Liverpool as he is frustrated with the lack of progress his bid for the club is making.

With current Reds owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett looking to sell the club, Huang is one of the parties interested in buying, and submitted an offer for Liverpool.

The Liverpool board is verifying that each perspective owner has the funds they have offered and are deciding which bid they will accept, with the bidder that receives the majority of the votes getting control of the club.

According to The Guardian, Huang is growing impatient as he hoped to buy the club before the transfer season ends so that he can provide Reds boss Roy Hodgson with funds to strengthen the squad.

Has anybody heard anything on the takeover in relation to the fella from dic?

Former Chelsea and Manchester United Chief Executive Officer Peter Kenyon is negotiating for QSL Sports Ltd. in its effort to buy 18-time English soccer champion Liverpool, according to three people familiar with the situation.

Kenyon, whose teams won five league titles with him in charge, has been in talks with Liverpool Chairman Martin Broughton and Barclays Capital, after they were hired by Liverpool co-owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks to sell the club in April.

Kenyon, 56, wouldn't have a seat on Liverpool's board if Hong Kong-based QSL bought the team, said the people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of sensitivity of the talks. Kenyon was named CEO at Manchester United in 2000, then joined Chelsea following billionaire Roman Abramovich's 2003 takeover. He left the West London club last year.

Hill & Knowlton, a public relations company hired by QSL co-founder Kenny Huang, declined to comment. Liverpool spokesman Ian Cotton said the club doesn't comment on the sales process.

Hicks and Gillett bought the club in February 2007 for 219 million pounds, including debt, or $431.7 million at the exchange rate then. The team's parent company, Kop Football (Holdings) Ltd., now had has debts of 351 million pounds ($549 million. Prospective investors must prove they'll pay off the current owners' 237 million-pound debt with Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc, fund a new stadium and pay for squad development.

RBS Debt

The RBS debt matures Oct. 6. If the club isn't sold by then and the owners can't get an extension, the U.K. government- controlled bank could take over Liverpool.

QSL is among as many as four bidders for the club, including Syrian Yahya Kirdi, who lives in Canada.

Liverpool's board said in an Aug. 13 statement it was reviewing a number of bids and would take its time before recommending one.

"The board will continue to act in the best interests of Liverpool Football Club and its supporters, doing all that it can to ensure that the club is ultimately sold to a buyer who has the resources and real commitment to give it a long term, stable and secure funding position, " the board said in a statement.

The people said Kenyon, now a director at management company Creative Artists Agency, has been involved in the talks for months and was hired because of his experience in English soccer. He is charged with determining the feasibility of a bid and to understand the financial structure of Hicks and Gillett's investment in Liverpool.

Well after seeing the game tonight i thought it was a really bad start for us and we struggled but we got a good goal and hopefully we willl build on that. well as for players going or staying is aquaman injured??? if anyone knows plse comment if not i think it will be him who goes and masch then i would defo try to get vdv as not only set piece taker also a quality player, also on tonights game maxi has no future at the club thought he was woefull.

is there any truth in the rumour we have funds of 25 mill if so then roy should go get another striker

19 Aug 2010 22:01:02
Two rubbish defensive midfielders and no recognised strikers at home. Same old negative tactics and why take babel off just after scoring, absolute genius!. Get rid of hodgson before he buys more crap players and turns us into a laughing stock. Not happy.

Why all the VDV talk, great player, yet he is attacking Mid, not striker, do we need another one?

Yes i think we do because he can play centre mid just like Gerrard when hes in centre mid he pushes forward and makes things happen when he's not there we end up with Lucas there and god knows what he does just plays 5 yard passes and gives away the ball. if we are playing mash or palson in def mid then the other mid needs to push forward and make things happen and appart from Gerrard no one does that.

Lot of people on here seem to be a bit deluded regarding both transfers and takeover. Firstly we will not be buying numerous players, we simply do not have the money and before you all start listing the amount of players we have sold an so forth look to common sense. We are a club in huge debt that needs to be repaid by a deadline and as the owners Gillet and Hicks need to make sure that if we do not have a buyer before then they will have enough funds to pay this or risk RBS taking full control of club. Furthermore look to last season where did all the money go from Alonso sale?? we didn't spend it all on Aqualani did we, it went towards the debt and the same has happened with this season. IF and that's a big IF at the moment, Mascherano is sold we will NOT buy another replacement that is what Poulsen is for. It is more likely we will only get 1 more player, a striker (maybe two if Insua is finaly sold) and even that is questionable as tonight shows Roy is willing to use Bable up front with Ngog and Kyut as back up and obviously Torres. For left back it would only be a cheap option NOT a wold class left back that would cost 8mil or more. We probably only have about 8mil to play with in total as it is! Lastly the takeover, this will not be a quick buy, Broughton and Purslow are making sure all bids are sound with funds finances and backers which at the end of the day only benefits liverpool. This can not be done over night which both Broughton and Purslow have said. Takeover will probably happen late September to October. Lastly regarding the Guardians article, please show me one single quote from either liverpool or kenny huang? this maybe correct but don't take it as gospel

what do you think Ed?? {editor's note - I agree with you, I have said all along not to expect anything before October on the takeover front. The only way it would be done quickly would be if there was just one bidder. Luckily there are a number of offers so it is going to take time to ascertain which is best for the club. As for players, we have little to no money to spend, we need to sell to raise the money for top class additions.}

I am still hooked on this site and go on it daily just for the slightest bit of truth and a rumour based on genuine info not just something your 12 year old lad can dream up. NO ONE knows when the takeover will happen yet but i am sure that the people "in the know" will not rush on to this site to tell us first. I am finding it as frustrating as anyone but believe that on paper the squad is stronger than the one that finished 2nd 2 years ago. Roy is slowly getting rid of all the dead wood that Rafa bought but ask yourselves. do we really need ANY of the players we are being linked with. are they really good enough for Liverpool FC? I don't think so. Yes we could do with a forward or 2 but Roy won't waste what little money he has and the best are way out of our price range. In Woy We Twust. Anyone agree or are you just fantasists?

Liverpool Rumours
RE Carlton Cole will not be joining Liverpool from West Ham. If there was the remotest of chances this was going to happen Joe Cole would be wearing J.Cole 10 and not Cole 10. They wouldn't sell thousands of shirts that were then going to be changed.

{Editor's Note: I am sure that those responsible for selling the club have knocked on the door of everyone who has previously shown an interest. My opinion - not to be confused with any opinions held by other Eds - is that Huang is not a viable option; that he has funds to buy the debt and perhaps a little more; that he will borrow funds for the day to day running of the club; that the club will need to be mortgaged to pay for the stadium. Not the solution.}

ED- Do you think IF Haung is being backed by CIC then he could be the best choice especially IF he gets us into the so far untapped Chinese market?

{Editor's Note: I have not seen anything to say he is being backed by CIC - it would be a much better situation if he were of course. We should ask ourselves why a large business such as CIC would want to run this transaction through a pretty much unknown third party - it makes no sense.}

You also said earlier "Have Faith" have you or any other ED's heard anything? And do you have faith that the 5 man board will make the best choice for the club?

{Editor's Note: For me it is all about the best for the club and the long term. We have to stick with it until we are done.}

Usually people post rubbish and without a hint of truth.But this is not so much a rumour as 90 percent fact.Kenny Huang's bid has been rejected by the lfc board as they have already turned the liverpool books and accounts over to rafed al Kharafi's accountants.The bid has been accepted and liverpool fc are in the due dilligance process.When kharafi tried to by the club 18 months ago he had already won support from members of the liverpool board.Purslow stated that the process could take a few months but in reality it could be completed as early as next friday, Purslows statement was released to dampen down media interest.

To clear things up.
The UEFA regulations say "a player who has been fielded in the first, second or third qualifying round . . is entitled to play . . for another club as from the group stage, provided that his former club did not qualify".
hope this clarifies this argument for people about players being cup-tied

To the person who said cole wears j.cole 10 is stupid if you watched more often then you would know that

you do not and cannot know anything about who is going to buy LFC, so please stop posting your lies and wait for an announcement from THE BOARD, which doesn't include you!

For all the peolpe talking about the take-over,

A small report was done on S.S.N. today around midday, in which they stated that Kenneth Huang has started making noises that he is getting restless, he is the only person that has so far proved that he has the funds to pay for the club. But he thinks the process is taking too long.
They then went on to say that some media are speculating that this will be his way of backing out and saving face, (blame the time taken) as he doesn't have the money to fulfill all of the commitments. Others are saying it's him getting annoyed because he wanted the sale done before the transfer window ended.
One point they did all agree on was the fact that the board is split down the middle as to whether this was a good offer for the club. Some of the members are really not sure about the involvement of the chinese government.

I think Gillett & Hicks should send a message to Sheikh Mohammed and tell him 'this is the current offer on the table, beat it and the club is yours' its not like they would need to spek face to face, and they could always lie about it, we all know they are good at that!

What do you think Ed? any of this ring true from your sources?

{Editor's Note: I am sure that those responsible for selling the club have knocked on the door of everyone who has previously shown an interest. My opinion - not to be confused with any opinions held by other Eds - is that Huang is not a viable option; that he has funds to buy the debt and perhaps a little more; that he will borrow funds for the day to day running of the club; that the club will need to be mortgaged to pay for the stadium. This is nothing more than opinion (1st time poster). In 2004/ 5 when Houllier went I wanted Rafa for the job as I felt he was the best candidate at that time. Eevn with hindisght I still believe he did much more good than harm to our club in terms of acquisitions and success (not saying he was perfect - far from it, but given the clown-like ownership / Rick Parry etc I still maintain that view).
Since the club has been up for sale I have only ever wanted one person: Sheikh Mohammed. Look at ghis hotel in Dubai. His comercial property and outlook is ALWAYS to be the best of the best.
I hold a faint hope still that he could come in for us, and then the sky would be the limit for LFC. Believeable?

19 Aug 2010 17:29:08

Not only are the two yanks l*ll**s but by not selling up earlier and for whatever real reason the takeover is taking too long we are now goin into a new season without the four or five world class aditions torres asked for back end of last season (cole the only exception). With what I have heard behind the scenes torres and gerrard are in the know as to what is happening regarding takeover but even those too must realise that strength in depth wins the premiership and with 11 days to go to the end of the transfer window we are realistically still short of quality players compared to our rivals. It pains me to say it but if torres or gerrard suffer injuries this season we can forget the top4 and at the end of this season it will definatly be goodbye from torres. And to make matters worse the thought of that sneering scotish h**r with the 19th premiership title will finish all reds off. Wits ya thoughts ed?

{Editor's Note: The key thing about the takeover is that we get the right owners in. Roy is rejigging the team just a little. Have faith.}

19 Aug 2010 17:26:39

Just like everything in Dubai the new stadium will be bigger that originally proposed

No it wont, the two cancers already tried that one, the council won't sanction a stadium any bigger than 60,000, because the infrastructure around Liverpool has been deemed not sufficient.

Please get your fact right before posting as it makes you look stupid and reflects on the rest of us who actually do some research before posting.

If Ola Toivonen does play for PSV tonight he would not necessarily be cip tied if he were to join us.

UEFA have said that qualifying rounds would not count as having played in the actual competioion.

I have it on pretty good authority that the Huang bid is not the best for the club, hence him trying to rush it through with the promises of trying to buy quality players before the transfer window shuts, conning the fans into thinking his is the best offer. This is a massive decision for LFC that should not be rushed. This is the most important decision the club will make this century. . I also have been told that DIC (Sheik Mohammed is very close) to buying the club. .

Macca

Would love this to be true Macca after all Sheikh Mohammed has been shafted twice when he tried to buy us. Once by Moores/ Parry (scumbags) and then by Hicks (parasite)

Sheikh Mohammed is a LFC fan BUT i don't know if he's even interested.

Im not saying your wrong in your post as all the facts point to the conclusion that a deal maybe off but Hodgson has said that that the league is the priority this season, so maybe he thinks that we have enough firepower for the europa league we Torres, Ngog and Pacheco and Toivonen will be used for the Prem (if he does in fact play tonight)

Ola Toivonen has started against sibri Novosibirsk. He is cup-tied now. Means he is not moving to Anfield.
Earlier today Roy confirmed that he was one of his target. As he is cup-tied now, so, i believe he is staying at PSV.
ED, what do you think? {editor's note - I don't think it makes any difference when the priority is the league.}

hes not cup tied unless he plays in the group games

19 Aug 2010 15:33:31
Couldn't agree more - City is going to be a mess. Too much, too soon - shame, the club used to have heart. We should beware of going down the same route.

19 Aug 2010 15:33:18

To all who are saying a player is cup tied because he played or is going to play in the Europa Qualifier.

"The executive committee has agreed that a player who appears for a club in any of the preliminary rounds of the Champions League or Europa League can play for another team in the competition proper, so long as his original team is eliminated in the preliminary competition."

19 Aug 2010 14:57:32
Whatever sheikh or tycoon eventually takes over, the last thing we need is a larger stadium than the one already proposed - the atmosphere at Anfield has been terrible for years (other than on big European nights) without diluting it any more.

60 thousand tops - any more and it'll be embarrassing.

19 Aug 2010 14:54:05
I don't think anyone is learning. At left-back we now have Fabio Aurelio and Emiliano Insua, we do not need, therefore will not be signing another left-back. Roy is looking at positions we need, which is currently just the striker role. He has identified Ola Toivonen as the best target here, but of course he is having difficulty stumping up the £10m to sign him, hence why we're looking at Roque Santa Cruz. He's a good striker with a good eye for goal and competitive in the air and would only cost us around £6m.

We have 3 goalkeepers on our books, Reina, Caviliera and Intandje (sorry about spelling), but still signed Jones. So I reckon second guessing is not working. I was'nt sure at first, but I am now liking the fact that Roy is our man.

The only true rumours are the ones that are signed, sealed and delivered.

YNWA {editor's note - Itandje is not wanted and Cavalieri wants to leave, that is why Jones was signed.}

. .is it just me or does anybody else actually prefer the fact that we havent had some rich sheikh bail us out just yet? now don't get me wrong i am indeed desperate for J arthur and Sue Ellen to hot foot it out of Anfield back to Southfolk. .(i mean South Park) where they truly belong but in the meantime it seems to me that having to be slightly more thoughtfull in the market is resulting in us actually getting players who want to play for the club and not just these citeh slickers who are only interested in the fast buck! Manchester City will emplode before christmas mark my words! What we have now is a true team spirit and a camaraderie between the players that just hasnt been there for years. .with the addition of just one or two more we will be in and around the area we want to be come April without having sold our souls to the devil. Take a well deserved bow Mr Hodgson for giving the club its heart back. the futures bright. .the futures biege.

According to The Guardian, Huang is growing impatient as he hoped to buy the club before the transfer season ends so that he can provide Reds boss Roy Hodgson with funds to strengthen the squad.

When are you fools going to realise that Huang is a charlatan? There is no way he is going to be the next owner of Liverpool and is very clearly the type of person that doesn't fit the profile of a good owner

If Huang was that confident he had made the 'best for the club' bid, he would be happy to sit back, keep his gobshut and let the powers that be get on with the deal.
I see two possible reasons for him to be postulating, either 1, He's not the best bid, and he knows it, or 2, he wants a quick deal before anything, shall we say 'disturbing' is discovered in the searches that the board/ club are making.
His is not the right and proper way to do business.

RH may have decided not to bid for him, but being cup-tied for the Europa cup doesn't necessarily mean the deal will be off is RH wants him.

19 Aug 2010 13:51:43
All this talk of players not coming to Liverpool because they've played in the Europa league already is nonsense as earlier this year uefa relaxed the rules to say that any player appearing for a club in any preliminary round of either competition can still play for another club in the competition proper. I'm not saying were going to sign turan etc but it won't be because they're cup tied. I thank you. {editor's note - isn't the rule that they are not cup tied if the team they played for fails to make the group stage?}

I hope roy plays a 4-1-2-1-2@diamond system with joe on the right-mid, aqua boy on the left-mid, mascherano or lucas as DM, gerrard as the head of the diamond with jovanovic playing as left striker and torres playing on the right striker position! ! when attacking aqua or joe can provide long range or intelligent passes with one of them dropping deep and either aurelio or johnson will provide the overlapping runs and gerrard can make his trademark runs into the box or outside of the box and you people know what torres can do and jovanovic putting pressure on the defense with his pace and he can cut inside to blast one! ! and if nessesary our DM must drop deep and allow agger to make run into the midfield!

when defending gerrad aqua and joe just need to drop deeper making it a four man miedfield and jovanovic should put presssure on the CB or WB so as torres and finally a disciplined old fashion back four with skrtel/ cara, agger/ wilson aurelio/ ??/ kelly, johnson/ darby. . .

I read regularly on this site comments moaning about the fact we do not give the youngeters a chance, so why all the negative comments about Ngog ?

Face facts, unless a take over happens in the next few weeks (which is getting more doubtful by the day), we have very limited funds, maybe £10m at the most and I for one do not want to see Hodgson risk the funds on an unproven player.

So lets save it for January (or even next summer), add it to any funds we may receive post takeover, and buy quality and, in the meantime, give the likes of Ngog our full support and appreciation - Who knows, if he carries on like he has started, come January, we may be asking if we actually need another striker !

19 Aug 2010 13:39:35
I would be interested to know what "Bamba" thinks of Kenny Huang's proposal for the stadium. Perhaps you could pose the question for me?

Sharkey.

Come on Sharkey, get with the game pal, Kenny will now have another outlet for all the red paint he buys in China, expect Anfield to smell very strongly of freshley applied dulux 'pillar box' red in the weeks after he takes over. .

Ridgebackred. .

As usual, Sharkey remains one of the smartest and sensible posters on this site. . Huang is not even close to gaining control of Liverpool. And for that all Liverpool supporters can thank their lucky stars as he would be worse than H&G.

19 Aug 2010 13:37:12
Why does it matter if a player is cup-tied for the europa league, it's the premiership we are most interested in!

Just read in the echo that the takeover process could take another 2 months, does this signal the Syrian bid is the front runner as they did ask for a two month extension to the process ?

Hope not as they have links with the two current clowns.

I heard on radio city that the Huang takeover is not going to happen. Normaly i whouldnt care too much as we have all been guessing who is going to takeover the club. I work security and lastnight a man i work with said his daughter had a new job, long story short her new job is working for the law firm that is handling the Huang bid! She showed him how much he is worth if he sold all his shares, bonds ect and it came to a staggering amount £1.553 Trillion! ! This is no word of a lie i kid you not.

Wow - he's even richer than Bill Gates!

It never ceases to amaze me. . not only is it clearly BS but the poster doesn't understand that nor a bunch of other people who click on believable. Huang is not even remotely rich. He will not be the next owner of Liverpool.

I wasn't even going to furnish this post with a reply, but I couldn't resist.
You're a **t**. In Premiership football club ownership, Huang doesn't have a 'pot to *ea* in'
The guy is all mouth, the people he's bidding for have the money, and they're not being very forthcoming in revealing themselves now are they?
Do you not wonder why?

When are you fools going to realise that Huang is a charlatan? There is no way he is going to be the next owner of Liverpool and is very clearly the type of person that doesn't fit the profile of a good owner

I would be interested to know what "Bamba" thinks of Kenny Huang's proposal for the stadium. Perhaps you could pose the question for me?

Sharkey.

Come on Sharkey, get with the game pal, Kenny will now have another outlet for all the red paint he buys in China, expect Anfield to smell very strongly of freshley applied dulux 'pillar box' red in the weeks after he takes over. .

{Editor's Note: Well the club has got Aurelio to return and I agree that Insua is on his way out. The fear is that we are slowly replacing Rafa's average buys with Roy's average buys.}

Roy hasn't had any money, be fair Ed. Who could he have bought for the money he's spent, Poulsen was bought to replace Javier, no matter what anyone else will have you believe. The only money he's spent foolishly in my eyes is on Joe Cole.
He's bought squad players and managed to keep hold of Torres and Gerrard. No mean feat after last seasons debacle.
Although the first 10m+ player he buys will indicate his astutness in the transfer market.

What happened when Purslow went to Madrid for a few days at the end of July?? Seems there was no follow up from that at all. Maybe we need to see what happens to Babel and Mascherano before some cash starts to flow. . . . . . . . . .

Mournin Ed's wi Ozil goin to Real do you think Van Der Vaart will be in Jose Mourinho plans an do you think there is any chance we could sign him, or was it just all paper talk linkin VDV wi us (LFC), one more thing ed liverpool play man city monday i like a good bet what score do u think it will be an who to score first as u could be my lucky charm an my paul the octopus for the year lol cheers

EL IRISH NINO {editor's note - we signed Cole to play the VDV role, no chance of adding him as well. I think that we will beat City 2-1, Tevez to score first. If you want my tip for a bet worth a punt, it would be Johnson to score at any time.}

Lucas Poulsen
Maxi Cole Jovanovic
Babel

I think connor wickham would be a great buy saw him play in u17 championships and he was quick strong and great in the air ideal back up to ngog and nemeth this year and id like to see in the hole.
trust he will hit 15 goals this year and be worth twice his fee next season

19 Aug 2010 12:08:37

In reply to the guy who said nobody is learning that we don't need a leftback.
sorry but i disagree emiliano insua still has no squad number and if he does not go id be very surprized and aurellio is not reliable when it comes to staying fit so we don't want to be playing the likes of agger or kelly out of position again no matter how good they perform.
if i was a betting man id put money on roy feeling the same and bidding for wayne bridge on deadline day

19 Aug 2010 12:08:20
Why woud roy want a left bak he has agger aurilo insua and kellly

but insua will proply not play alot this season after not even bein 2nd chocie left bak

As a liverpool fan reading these posts about roque santa cruz and swp, makes me laugh neither are good enough and if i am honest ngog deserves his chance after his excellent finish aginst arsenal, he showed he can score goals. We do need a good back up striker but i still believe ngog will prove his critics wrong

Hi Ed, hope all is well.

I've seen you comment on several occassions that we don't need a new left back? With Insua looking increasingly likely to move on, you can't think the strictly average Auerlio is the answer?

Thanks

Kopite70

I thought Broughton said he would pick the best bid for the future of the club, not the highest bidder.

{Editor's Note: It does not mean that a single bid can be both the highest and the best. There also seems to be an issue as to which are proposals and which are bids that are capable of acceptance. Also it is not clear what needs to give in respect of commitments for a new stadium, and where the funding would come from.}

I couldn't care less about huge money signings, I just want the debt cleared. I miss the days when the club was run properly and you could be proud rather than embarassed to support LFC.

Run the club right and the rest will follow - keep the faith.

Alot of people have asked. If a player plays in the qualification stage of a European tournament they aren't cup-tied. They will become cup-tied if they play in the group stage.

Example:
If Javier Mascherano plays tommorow against Trazpanspor he will not YET, be cup-tied.

My understanding of the "cup-tied" situation was that if a player plays in any of the preliminary rounds, he will only become cup tied if the team progresses to the competion proper. If the team is eliminated from a competition in the qualifying stages then a player may still move to another club without being cup-tied.

Liverpool tell Javier Mascherano that he will not be sold cheaply

Roy Hodgson has warned Internazionale he is prepared to hold Javier Mascherano to his contract and let him leave Liverpool on a free transfer in 2012 rather than accept a cut-price offer for the Argentina captain.
Liverpool are only prepared to sanction a departure, Hodgson revealed, because of a gentleman's agreement made when Mascherano was refused a move to Barcelona last year.
Mascherano will miss Europa League play-off first leg against Trabzonspor with a calf injury. But Hodgson has told the midfielder to prepare for an extended stay should Inter fail to meet the asking price of £25m and admits an agreement struck last summer, when he was priced out of a move to Barcelona and asked to give the club one more season, has forced him to consider a sale.
He has a new contract offer, so that's up to him. As far as I am concerned, I'd be quite happy to work the two years with him. If he then wanted to walk away, then so be it. The nicest thing of all would be if he signed a new contract – it's there for him. But nobody is putting him under any pressure.
Christian Poulsen will make his debut, possibly in place of the rested Steven Gerrard, while Fernando Torres is fit to make his first start.

Was reading a post on Koptalk: it claims Xabi is to return?!?! says he is surplus to requirements with Jose and Real still owe LFC a fair amount of the transfer from last year.

*this could break the unbelievable button Ed*

As much as I'd love this to happen, i'm afraid it isn't, Xabi had a great season for Real last year, and Jose would be insane to sell him, he gets better and better all the time. What do you think Ed?

{Editor's Note: Maybe you should encourage the folks from KopTalk to come over here for their information.}

"Roy Hodsgon today said in an interview with lfc tv that there has been no contact from anybody for ryan babel therefore, the reports in the media are false he also goes on to say that he is expecting to have babel at lpool next season."

RH also said that he had no idea about any deal for Joe Cole and that was the day before Cole he signed. Things are being done in the true LFC way. Hush hush!

Personally think that if mash goes that we should play agger as the holding / defensive midfielder
he is good in defence good passer of the ball and comfortable going forward. it would save the club money buying another midfielder
wilson or kelly could play cd in future when carra needs a rest

Liverpool to announce takeover by Friday. I do not know the winning bid however I do know that a decision has been made and will be made public by Friday afternoon.

Got to reply to the large submission that sounded reasonable - until the last statement - about Tony from the Times.

If that is the same Tony ( Evans I think his name is, I had to turn it off every time he came on because he sounded like a bitter blue) that was always on Talksport telling us non stop that Stevie G and Torres were definitely leaving - listen to the man - and believe the opposite. If he says Huang is the best bid - it probably isn't.
That man has stopped me buying the Times, I couldn't bring myself to contribute to his wages.

Let's just wait, if and when we are bought.

Huang's take it or leave it offer

Kenny Huang is ready to call time on his bid to mount a takeover for Liverpool Football Club.
The Times reports he has issued a "take or leave it" offer to Martin Broughton.
Amongst Huang's concerns is a perceived effort to push up a selling price by talking up weaker bids, and, a fear that the Reds may miss out on a Champions League place unless Roy Hodgson is given funds prior to the summer transfer window closing.
Liverpool have spent a little over £8 million this summer and though players have been bought in for free others have been allowed to depart Anfield as financial constraints continue to bite.
More exits are likely before the end of August.
Huang's consortium is adamant they have met all the requirements set by the Liverpool board and do no understand the reason for the sale process to be prolonged.
If no buyer is found by early October the Royal Bank of Scotland may be forced to take control of the club.
