Not MOTD fever but Liverpool should be breaking the bank to sign Eriksen for next season, his delivery is first class and looks like a long term successor to Gerrard.

Surely if we win the league people will be lining up to sign for us??

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Do you understand about money at all?}

He signed last year, so probably got 3 years at least on his contract, and why would spurs sell their best player to us, that's like us selling Suarez to arsenal last year,

Agree0 Disagree0

Chelsea can't buy everyone Ed02 ;)

The position Eriksen plays is definitely an area Liverpool will be looking at . so it's a valid opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it is idiotic to suggest he will be joining us. He has a long contract and Spurs do not sell cheap. Do people not bother reading the accounts?? We lost £50m, we can't just suddenly go on a spending spree because we are in the Champions League! It is far from a valid opinion to talk about breaking the bank on anyone. We have already tried that approach and it nearly destroyed the club. Why do people have such short memories?}

Good post Ed001.

Nice to have you back.

FBI let you off with a slapped wrist?
(LOL)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it is amazing what kind of internet access you can get in caves these days. You can even run a dialysis machine for years apparently, and move seriously ill patients around in them without getting caught for years, until they need something to show on TV to lift a flagging president......}

Thank god for that Ed001, i'm not the only one who remembers! We need financial stability before we can go out and buy these ridiculously priced players, or we'll be back to square one again. We got this far without breaking the bank, why change it? And eriksen as a successor for gerrard? The day he plays in a central role rather than number 10 or on the left i'll believe you.

Agree0 Disagree0

After that comment ed001 I can imagine the NSA will be sticking a big Flowers By Irene van in front of your house. Haha

Surely what Mourinho is inferering about the head of referees, is match fixing. "Thanks to mike (dean?) for making the title race exciting for everyone" or something like that. That's bringing the game into disrepute, and questioning the integrity of an official. 02, I know you may not be in the best of moods, but what is your take on these comments?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I don't get upset over football Benny so I am in my normal chipper mood. I have not read the transcript of what was said but you would do best not to worry you about it - I guess he has your attention. I am sure he will be able to afford any fine that is coming.}

Mourinho is a piece of work

Agree0 Disagree0

I have to agree with you Chris. I couldn't have him at Liverpool. Some of his behaviour, and that of his staff, is absolutely disgraceful. The man will seemingly do anything to win, some people may see that as a virtue and a strength, but I think it's rather sad and depressing.

Surely there's some honour in winning fairly and in the right spirit, otherwise what's the point?

Agree0 Disagree0

Mourinho rarely means what he says, he just says outrageous stuff, so the media focus on his comments more than attacking his players personally, eg a schwartzer mistake or ba's miss! He gets the rap, but selflessly prevents his team getting a beating!

Agree0 Disagree0

That's fair enough ed, I only ask because I'd like to know how a Chelsea follower perceives these sort of comments. Like when br used/still says things a bit wreck less or uneducated, you point it out. A few times this season you've said br needs to basically shut up, do you feel this was the case for nose after today's game? I've given my view on his comments, I'd just like and outside of the box opinion, if you don't mind?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The nose is fine thanks.}

As UEFA once said, Mourinho is an "enemy of football".

Agree0 Disagree0

After Rafa won the Europa league with Chelsea:

"I don't want to win the Europa league. It would be a big disappointment to me."

On Wenger:

"He is a specialist in failure. I am not."

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I really don't understand the obsession with Chelsea that everyone has. Numerous posters crave after pretty much all of the Chelsea players and at one time the manager. I recall Mr Mourinho putting a Liverpool case on his phone once and the mass of posts here about him being a boyhood or closet LFC supporter. He did the same with other sides.}

Mourinho is a clever man and he plays the fans and the press to his advantage. However yesterday the mask slipped and he let himself down. He must have realised the title is getting beyond them now.

Hi all Super Reds

I have been using this site for a long time now and sent many posts, and over the past few years I have been a little p**^ed off with the a lot of the posts, lots directed at the heart of the club e.g Dalglish, Gerrard, Carragher, Lucas etc. Everybody has the right to put their point across, however I am an old git and reminisce about my childhood when we were top of the world and the team suppoted like no other.

However I am so glad all the younger fans are beginning to see and feel the way I used to in the late seventies and eighties. When Liverpool were great where there was an aura surrounding the club, the club were revered around the world, they were unstoppable when the fans were behind them, as Shanks said they were the 12th man, teams were terrified of playing Liverpool. they way they played was fantastic to watch, and the support was unconditional.

Thats why I got so disillusioned over the years, to me being a Liverpool supporter, is being a Liverpool supporter for life, its something you cannot take away, its a part of you.

The aura around the club at the moment is so so similar to that of the eighties, the passion and the strength of our supporters is so powerful it terrifies our oppnents, Man City, Chelsea are now seeing the Liverpool of Old, they are seeing the true size of the club and the support they have. Its a long time since I was in the kop, singing were going to win the league.

In the name of a song Well done Brendan for bringing that old loving feeling back.

From an Old Git of a Liverpool Supporter

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - This is from Evered who failed to sign in.}

Great comments, I am a red through and through, the boys pen, Anny Road End, Kop in full flow, watching my heroes as a kid to watching my heroes a an old fart! (as my kids would say). Never lost my passion despite clowns and cowboys. Enjoying the moment with my lad and dad. We are Liverpool, Poetry in Motion. Back to the Future.

We've got to win. Make no mistake about it they're going to make it almost impossible for Suarez. No Sturridge so he's going to be up against 2 maybe 3 players. Coutinho and Sterling become our best bet tomoz. COME ON LIVERPOOL!!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

19 Apr 2014 21:05:10
The result doesn't mean much unless we win tomorrow. So let's go out & take the game to them. Maureen-yo showed pure class in his post match comments. A good manager but be a man & stop blaming everyone else for the defeat.
Onwards & upwards.

It does not matter the City and Chelsea - Sunderland results. They both mean nothing unless we win tomorrow. Tomorrow is decisive. If we win. and If. it puts us in a good position. Nothing is given to you tho, you have to take it.

What I found I most interesting tonight watching Chelsea, was the atmosphere. If that was Anfield, going for the title (and Champs League), it would have been rocking. What summed it up for me was the pre-match atmosphere, boo's at half time AND fans leaving at 85-86 mins. Awful support. Then you have Mourinho's post match comments. Awful. How can you comment on officials like that? It plagues him through-out his career. Always moaning at officials, deflecting in his teams performance. Would Brendan do that?

'And if they did'nt believe me then, they believe me now'.

Kosovo Joe

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If at the end of the season Liverpool and Manchester City are equal on points, goals scored & goal difference, there will be a play-off to determine the title.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Doesn't it also come down to the results of the two games played against each other? Therefore we have a higher goals scored than them over the two games, even though we have one win each.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - No.}

19 Apr 2014 21:08:45
Given that we've conceded 8 more goals than City and they only have 5 games left, we'll either lose on good or beat them on Goals Scored.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah we're not gunna concede 8 less than them over the course of 4/5 games and still be level on points!

To Muzzled and all the Liverpool fans out there, congrats to you guys, think you just deserve this a bit more.

P.S' please, oh please don't remind us of this thriumph every single day of the summer and our natural lives. Anyways hats off to you guys, as a chelsea fan it hurts saying that but i'm also a football fan so congrats again. :)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Its good to hear such grace from a chelsea fan. Especially after a defeat. I hope all my fellow reds fans have such grace should we win or lose. If we win, its for the 96. If we lose we must have been beaten by the better team over the full season. Fact.

Norwich (A)
Chelsea (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Newcastle (H)

Keep us dreaming.

Still not there but things are looking good. Regardless of where we finish we will still be red, if we win the league then I'll be ecstatic but we should finish top 3 at the very least. People who doubt Borini should see that he kept his cool at Chelsea and also scored in a cup final.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

19 Apr 2014 20:07:21
Man City saying this week, Liverpool can't win 14 in a row. we don't have to - out the remaining 4 games we just have to get more points than the other teams. Norwich will be tough tomorrow, fighting for their lives and have some quality players that can hurt teams. Nothing is won yet!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

19 apr 2014 19:42:06
this sunderland result means nothing at all yet, we still need to win tomorrow, don't take anything for granted

come on reds

Agree0 Disagree0

Sunderland did nothing but save their own skin. They did us NO favours at all. WE GO AGAIN, TOGETHER!

Agree0 Disagree0

Absolutely.
we need to fight at norwich as if we were about to get relegated ourselves

come on you reds

Yes it does, it means Chelsea don't gain the three points and we stay two ahead with a game in hand.

Totally agree only look to the next game.

Think the next tattoo might be "We Go Again" - love it

Of course the Sunderland win does you a favour, be humble, be the peoples choice, be popular champions, be great champions.
Dont do a mourinho

Agree0 Disagree0

Thank you daveybootle. Sunderland win is excellent for us. Of course we just need to worry about what we are doing, and if we go and win every game, the title is ours no matter what other results happen. The players are the ones who needs to take one game at a time not us. The words written on these pages mean absolutely nothing to the players. We will score at least 4 tomorrow.

Let's be honest, if we don't win this title we will be devastated and the top 4 finish we all dreamed of at the start of the season will be less enjoyable. Sorry for the negative spin to the post of course I am just as nervous as you lot but people just need to remember this page is not read by the players or Brendan Rodgers. Just enjoy this amazing run and not worry about "one game at a time".

Agree0 Disagree0

Gunners62, I am humble which is why I`m not making a mel of the result because it means NOTHING if we don`t take advantage of it. Remember that if City and Chelsea could drop points against bottom sides, so can we. All in all, we stay calm and WE GO AGAIN!

Agree0 Disagree0

DaveyBootle's got it right.
redohio, with respect, I simply can't understand what you are saying.
It's gobble-de-gook!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sivy, the post is pretty simple. They did nothing but help themselves initially by winning the game. They didn`t win it w/ lfc in mind (except maybe Borini) and as long as they stay up, their fans won`t care if we win the league or not. Clear enough for ya, buddy?

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Apr 2014 19:41:32
What a result for Sunderland and it's even more satisfying to see an on-loan Liverpool player get the winner. One game at a time though, we still need to put in another great performance against Norwich tomorrow otherwise Sunderland's result will mean nothing. Come on you Red men, we all know you can do it!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

They gave themselves a chance at survival BUT did us NO favors at all. We still have to go and play, battle, and fight for 3 points and nothing more. Norwich is going to give us their best shot so BR had better get ready to coach the game of his life tmrw.

Agree0 Disagree0

Still be happy to return the favor and help them in their relegation battle by crushing Norwich tomorrow though.

19 Apr 2014 19:39:44
Hi Eds,
too early to be happy, still have to do our job but the results go our way in recent days, don`t they? 3 wins out of last 4 games seems to be enough. Let`s get the first one on Sunday.

We need someone to bring a "This does not slip" banner to Carrow Road tomorrow, I think.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No need for additional pressure. The boys are ready for a real battle because Norwich will not lay down and take 5 like they always seem to do. It will be a war

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Would only be over for chelsea city in theory if we dropped any points against palace and Newcastle and they can be back in it 1 game at a time norwich next then we can worry about the next game

Happy for Borini because that kid is FEARLESS and a true warrior. We stay calm and go out hunting for another 3 points. Nothing more!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - You need the Manchester City page for this.}

19 Apr 2014 12:50:37
Not too long ago some on here were singing the praises of one Connor Wickham.
Let's hope today he can prove you right today and let us pray that Borini can show us how lethal he can be in front of goal.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Wickham is on a one man mission to help us lift the trophy!

Agree0 Disagree0

Have my prayers been answered?

19 Apr 2014 12:10:12
Yes I've noticed that myself aspas shows emotion when we score when other players in his position may possibly not I just don't think he's the answer but I'm always happy to be proven wrong.
Tbh I can't second guess Rodgers. So you never know I think teixaira may make an appearance at some point too.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Doesn't seem ready for the prem and is in the shadow of SAS. Easy to say a bad buy but who knows what impact he could have made if Suarez for example got injured.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Apr 2014 12:04:08
Just read BR's interview after City's result. He's class in my opinion.

No mention of winning the league and subtly highlighted that we've not cemented Champions League football yet. He made it sound as the next game's challenge is to 'rubber-stamp' our place in CL and to do that with a win at Norwich.

Very good management to take pressure off players!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

19 Apr 2014 11:02:03
How ya lads just realised if Gerrard got a yellow card against Man City he would have been put for Norwich and Chelsea omagine him Hendo and maybe Studg out for those matches so credit to Stevie for been a pure pro!!!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Some players used to go a whole footballing career without picking up a single yellow.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes Mikey, but those were the days where you had to break some bones to get a yellow.
These days you get a yellow for kicking the ball away or taking your shirt off after a goal.

Rogers on Gerrard being the best holding midfielder in Europe. The only other midfielder that comes close to Gerrard was and is the great Xabi Alonso, both can control and also slow down the game, both has the vision to identity and pass the long ball with accuracy. Gerrard defensively and his powerfull drive to score just clips Alonso. What can we say of the man Rogers, My staff and I are here as facilitators. We can only coach them to become better

Thanks again Eds

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Gerrard hasn't burst forwad in 2 years mate but his leadership would help pip it for me

Hi Eds, the in's at the moment are harder to predict but what about the potential leavers, what is the plan for Victor Moses? My opinion is that he will be sent back to Chelsea. Will Aspas return back to Celta? Will Borini be shipped off to Italy? Finally has Alberto done enough, I doubt it to be honest. I see another busy summer for LFC this year.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Try the search engine.}

We will ship him back and Chelsea will ship him out

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Apr 2014 00:55:24
Eds, do you know our plans with our youth players such as who will stay, go, go on loan?

I've seen Coady mentioned as an outgoing and Baios' contract is due to expire in summer? What about guys like Wisdom or guys who have been at the club for a while but probably won't make it such as due to not being good enough/work permit issues like Hodzic, Adorjan, Sama, Roddan etc.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - For most clubs it is rather too early to discuss loans. Typically the squad will be assessed after the summer break. Else it is generally speculation.}

18 Apr 2014 23:58:33
Hi eds thanks for all the hard work, just a question about Harry Wilson, the kid looks like an exciting talent and I know he's way off the first team even though he's played for Wales but do the club see him as a potential first team player or are they not so sure yet?

Many thanks
