Do we go unchanged at the weekend?

Believable6 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Just turn them inside out and they'll last a bit longer.}

18 Oct 2017 22:58:15
I think Klopp will def bring back in Mig (Karius) Gomez (Taa) and Henderson (Milner) for Spurs with the rest unchanged. However personally I'd prefer to see Karius or Ward as our keeper continuously for the rest of the season and I'd push Coutinho back into midfield and Ox into the front 3 until Mane is back.

18 Oct 2017 23:01:09
'However personally I'd prefer to see Karius or Ward as our keeper continuously for the rest of the season and I'd push Coutinho back into midfield and Ox into the front 3 until Mane is back'

Me too Jayden.

19 Oct 2017 00:12:26
Robertson will no doubt miss out again 🙄.

19 Oct 2017 01:39:27
I expect Migs, Gomez, Hendo to come back in and I’m fine with that, especially away from home.

19 Oct 2017 02:01:20
Perhaps Klopp has discussed it with Robertson and has assembled a squad where the best 11 will play, and cover is brought in for injury, burn out, or loss of form only; not simple ‘rotation’. This is strength in depth. Moreno doesn’t deserve to be dropped atm. Perhaps Robertson is happy to be part of what Klopp is building.

19 Oct 2017 02:13:50
Not a Moreno fan Ron?

19 Oct 2017 06:22:36
I just think Robertson is better and has proven it on the pitch.

{Ed001's Note - when? I don't get this love-in for Robertson, he was not good for Hull and he has shown nothing for us, despite the hysteria against Palace when he actually hit most of his crosses nowhere near one of our players, despite having the freedom of the park and all the time in the world to place a cross.}

19 Oct 2017 06:48:43
Still think our best midfield is Gini-hendo-can and I'd like to see that vs spurs. Coutinho doesn't have the engine or energy to help us dominate the midfield.

19 Oct 2017 07:05:33
Oh I am sorry Ron but Robertson can’t defend. We never brought in a superior full back and that is bottom line and tried another gamble in Robertson which hasn’t paid off!

Oh yes just like VVD, We tried, We tried.

Moreno is a mistake waiting to happen while Robertson was never good enough in the first place!

Another position need to be upgraded in the summer!

19 Oct 2017 07:15:51
Faith

You definitely need to read the article above and the part 1. Coutinho is not here to dominate midfield I am afraid.

19 Oct 2017 07:27:34
Every time I've watched Robbo he's shown more awareness and more positional sense than Moreno has in his entire LFC career.
Defending is not just what you do with the ball (crosses? ) or what you do when your direct opponent has the ball. The shape of the team is vital and Moreno is usually 20 yards more advanced than the ball. This gives opponents options when attacking. Robbo has far more tactical acumen than Moreno who probably puts in 3 times as many "crosses" and sometimes gets lucky.

Just my perspective.

{Ed001's Note - sorry but you are not watching them if you think Moreno puts in 3 times as many crosses as Robertson. That is crap. If anything Robertson is the one who puts in more crosses. It is pretty much all he does and all he has to offer. As for awareness and positional sense, they are both bloody hopeless in those areas, neither of them show any. Moreno does get advanced too early, I agree, but Robertson is not the answer.}

19 Oct 2017 08:23:16
No brainer for me, we bring in Faouzi Ghoulam and sell one of Robertson/ Moreno - neither are good enough let's be honest. Robertson I do want to see more of but it seems he was bought just to keep Moreno on his toes.

{Ed001's Note - Moreno was expected to be sold.}

19 Oct 2017 08:30:26
Ron, Robbo was already not well-liked when he signed as many including myself, thought we could do better. Same with Ox. Moreno is not great and that much is clear. However, This Robbo-love in is baseless. Moreno is showing great improvement (I know, it is a low bar) BUT that much is true. Robbo is not better than Moreno and Moreno is just about shading it right now. Klopp thinks Moreno is playing well and many have agreed on that. It is your opinion and we respect that BUT that's all it is, your opinion.

19 Oct 2017 08:43:35
You're telling me what I see from the stands is baseless.

Ok, well if you already make you're mind up about a player based on TV images playing for a poor team then there is no point in trying to convince you and obviously your opinion has more basis than mine 👏

All I will say is TV tends to be focussed on the ball. From the stands you see the whole pitch all the time. Whether you want to admit it or not, you get a better perspective of team shape and player positioning when you can see the whole pitch.

{Ed001's Note - if you are going to be a prick about it then don't bother discussing this with me. You have no idea what I have seen but you carry on being one of those tits that thinks they know more because they are lucky enough to get to games. By the way you can't have seen much from there as he never plays for us for you to watch. I am done with this. You were the same with Brendan blinkers on refusing to accept what anyone else said. It is pointless discussing this with you as your head is clearly so far up the lad's rectum that you have turned on one of our other players just because he is keeping Robertson out the team.}

19 Oct 2017 09:01:44
Ed, I'm replying to Bingo who called my opinion "baseless".
I have no problem with your comment on my opinion, I don't like it when someone says another's opinion is baseless. Everyone's opinion is equally as valid. Calling it baseless is disrespectful and more "prickish" in my opinion.

19 Oct 2017 09:12:04
Moreno has obviously pushed himself up another level. (There's still a few before he becomes dependable) Perhaps Robertson will rise to the challenge which can only be a good thing. I don't think we've seen enough of him yet in a red shirt to really comment. I would imagine he will get his chance when Moreno gets a ban. One thing, is he definitely fit? As in to the level klopp expects? I just wonder if he and ox aren't quite ready for the amount of running klopp has his players do in preseason.

19 Oct 2017 09:12:56
Robertson was a waste of money. Just another player signed for the sake of it. Moreno has stepped up and there is no reason right now to drop him for an average left back signed from Hull that 90% LFC fans deep down knew would never make the grade here. Moreno has developed an understanding with Coutinho and Mane on the left, while Robertson simply kept getting in Mane's way every time they played together and KLopp obviously saw that.
I was against the Robertson signing from the get go (Ed002 can attest to me as a Robertson hater) . Nothing against the player but it was painfully obvious there was no logic behind the signing.

19 Oct 2017 09:23:08
Ron, I never said that Robbo was disliked cos he played for Hull. You made that up on your own. And the fact that you think you know more than the rest of us who disagree with you cos you go to games and we don't, shows that you have NO argument on this issue and the ones you have, are nothing but hollow rants, the ones Ed has appropriately responded to. You were the same not just with Brendan (I read all your posts then and they were nuts), but with Karius as well, with you saying he would NEVER come good as if you can tell the future which clearly, you can't.

Now you are saying Robbo is better whereas the guy has only play two games for us so to you, two games is enough to say he is better than Moreno? Have you bothered to ask yourself why he's only played two games this season? Could it be that it is cos Moreno is keeping him out?

Again, your opinion is baseless with no facts to support it and if that rant is all you have to offer as a rebuttal to my comment, then you are swimming upstream, bro. I normally love your posts and optimism BUT here, you have embarrassed yourself royally, my friend.

19 Oct 2017 09:55:06
That part of it I disagree on. I think Coutinho could do everything ed says he could in midfield but imo doesn't have the engine yet to do that all game.

19 Oct 2017 10:36:55
Faith

He just don’t need to run and chase shadows all when not in possession, hence we play with two or three B2B ball winners. His role is not to dominate the midfield nor win anything and if he does it it’s actually a bonus. He is what Ozil should be doing at arsenal and for what he is getting abused for. I would be happy if he just pick players ahead when he has the ball and forget every thing on the pitch. Our team is set up to help him not the other way around.

The team play with 2 power tanks in Can, Hendo, Wijnaldum. Why do you need an extra player just to run around? Once went have Keita then we will just dominate the league let alone any matches!

19 Oct 2017 12:21:37
Whatever Bingo. This has nothing to do with Rodgers so you're engaging in "internet warfare". I have no time for that

I respect others opinions. I do not call them baseless.
You have no respect for differening opinions, that much is clear by your comments.

19 Oct 2017 13:00:17
Anyone is better than Moreno and I think Robertson deserves to be in ahead of Moreno.

Why is Klopp so meticulous about Goal keepers then? Migs for PL, Kaurius for CL and Ward for the rest?

Same with Grujic. Can gets in irrespective of his quality.

I don't like AOC but he can't be worse than Can. Grujic and Woodburn deserve some game time ahead of Can with the amount of playing time.

I agree with Ron here.

Cheers.

19 Oct 2017 14:36:45
Bit harsh that on Ron. Everyone has their opinion. Let's keep it civil guys.

19 Oct 2017 14:53:20
Samikwell, I think can has earned his place in the team to be honest. Yep, he's had a few quiet games but he's also had a few man of the match performances as well. Something to think about this early in the season. Moreno is improving. Still lots to learn but his attitude is great. As I said earlier, I hope he and Robertson push each other because obviously that will benefit the team as a whole. Woodburn is a kid. Let's not put all the expectation on him just yet. They're not even sure where he plays yet but I'm fairly certain it would be in a more attacking role. As for grujic, I could be wrong but I thought ed2 said things might change with him soon enough. Its still a little early to write aoc off or indeed build him up. I'm hopeful he finds his feet under klopp. And finally goalkeeper. nobody has a clue what's going on.

19 Oct 2017 16:40:36
Sami, that is your opinion, one which Klopp and many others on here and on other fan sites (as I visit some of them) disagree with as he can't beat out Moreno. Saying anyone is better than Moreno makes little sense as Robbo can't get in the team ahead of him so by that, we can conclude that anyone BUT Robbo is better than Moreno. Cos you think Robbo is better does not mean he is and that he should play. Klopp makes the decisions and frankly, I don't care who plays provided they can do the job and right now, Moreno tho not great, is doing the job to a certain extent. That is the reality.

19 Oct 2017 17:15:38
I don’t always agree with Ron but I think he deserves an apology.

19 Oct 2017 18:02:55
Robertson isn't playing because Moreno is yet to do anything to justify him being removed from the starting XI. Simple as really.

19 Oct 2017 18:32:17
Spot on, Hijkle. It is as simple as that but some on here think Klopp is mistreating Robbo by not playing him or something, which is preposterous. If Robbo wants to play more, he should convince Klopp on the training pitch and dislodge him, end of story.

19 Oct 2017 21:20:16
Can we all wear shirts for the spurs game saying #PrayForRon?

20 Oct 2017 10:46:40
all these are subjective what we know as fans is that they both play for our team and at the least should be fighting hard to improve and earn the LB spot. I will agree with Ed on this 1,Robbo tends to hit crosses that miss most if not all our players, something he can improve on over time. Has Moreno actually improved on what he really needed to {defending) or is he just attacking more? Granted the kid is trying and working hard on his game which shows maybe that alone should at the least keep him in the team. let's support them both to improve.

Naby Keita

18 Oct 2017 19:24:49
{Ed's Note - we have posted a new player profile about, Naby Keita

Believable11 Unbelievable2

18 Oct 2017 19:34:01
Good one Ed001, I can't wait until he joins in summer he's going to be a major signing for us. I didn't actually think he'd end up coming so to know he IS coming is exciting. Every time I've watched him play he's impressed me, he is much needed for us.

18 Oct 2017 19:36:08
Could you write something about Romario Ed01? My first super hero and without him I wouldn’t be kicking a football?

{Ed001's Note - I have added him to the Legends list for you Harry. I am just starting on writing up Puskas now, just another 80 or so before I get to Romario for you!}

18 Oct 2017 19:43:21
That list grew quick Ed mate lol Knew it'd be a popular series the legends of football.

{Ed001's Note - very quick mate, lots of people making suggestions for it.}

18 Oct 2017 19:50:56
Excited to see him at the club eds after reading that. We need a little bit of bite in our midfield.

{Ed001's Note - I am excited mate, every time I see him he looks excellent, though the sendings off were silly.}

18 Oct 2017 20:18:35
So it's Romario's fault 😁

Good player, especially for Barcelona vs Man Utd 🏆.

18 Oct 2017 23:20:36
I would love a really good DM next to Keita next year. Oh and a keeper 2 CB I shall start my Christmas list 🤔😂.

18 Oct 2017 21:49:46
Ed01 how about another 2 argentine's mate riquelme and aimar 4 of my fav players of all time have been from Argentina, maradona, batistuta, requelme and aimar. Cheers mate.

{Ed001's Note - added them mate.}

19 Oct 2017 08:30:55
Riquelme was some player.

19 Oct 2017 15:41:20
Riquelme was awesome. Weren't we close to signing Aimar at one stage?

19 Oct 2017 18:57:23
Cheers for the write up 01,02 alluded to some off field attitude issues lately, have you heard anything about that with him?

{Ed001's Note - yes mate, there were a few, though I believe it has settled down a bit now. Fingers crossed it stays that way!}

19 Oct 2017 20:39:08
Walkon, i think you are right we was close to signing aimar. i also think newcastle was close to signing requelme at the end of his career but he chose to go home instead if I remember rightly. Requelme was such a silky player in my opinion played the game with ease.

20 Oct 2017 01:00:29
Hi Ed's

Do you have Pirlo in your list?

Didn't see much of him but the few times I saw him, he was been exceptional.

Always thought we are previleged to see Gerard and Lampard but Pirlo is another planet to these guys.

Cheers.

{Ed001's Note - he is on the list, but I don't see what you see, he was just like Fabregas, can play a great pass but offers nothing else to the team at all.}

18 Oct 2017 17:36:36
Much preferred Millner as captain a real driving force.

Believable9 Unbelievable8

18 Oct 2017 18:21:45
Until he has a poor game or we get beat mate and everyone will winge again.

18 Oct 2017 18:54:14
Captain material? After one game? Come on, man. You are aware that Hendo had a very good perf. vs Utd and bossed the LC game where he scored the winner, right or are we going to act that all that did not happen? At least, be honest in your assessment is all I'm asking.

Kloppsreds17, I agree with you as well. The moaners will be back moaning after Milner screws up as if our players are not allowed to have bad games anymore.

18 Oct 2017 19:10:26
Another fan moaning about fans moaning 🤦🏻‍♂. Everyone is entitled to an opinion.

18 Oct 2017 19:37:03
Emre Can, He is a Captain in 2 years time. Make him one now!

18 Oct 2017 20:05:45
Captain of Juve in two years though, unfortunately.

18 Oct 2017 20:40:36
Jayden, you are correct about everyone having an opinion. That is not the point. The point is that having a go and slating a player relentlessly just cos he had a bad game is just useless and unproductive as that will not help the situation. Everyone knows that. Frustration is normal BUT self control is more important as you don't ever wanna throw the baby out with the bath water just cos you're peeved.

18 Oct 2017 21:23:39
Jayden you blame people for stuff you actually do yourself lad you keep winging about other people bringing other teams into it, yet yest you did with spurs. Yes everybody is entitled to there opinion but when you do it 10 times a day it gets tedious, stop dictating and putting folk down thinking you control things here ha ha ha grow up instead of thinking you control people if you don't like what people write why not just pass by instead of thinking you need to give an opinion on every single post that gets wrote trying to micro manage every posters views.

18 Oct 2017 21:28:59
Knuckles telling people to stop dictating 🤦🏻‍♂🙈.

18 Oct 2017 21:34:14
Bingo I totally agree with you on the slating of players relentlessly part is out of order. But people predicting he is going to get slated on the assumption of him playing bad before an actual game is being a bit OTT.

18 Oct 2017 21:54:01
Yes you jayden every post your name is up turning on other peoples posts And your turning things round to make them suit you. Honestly kid you need to grow up fella like you keep saying people are entitled to there opinions without you trying to make out they saying stuff they aren't lad.

18 Oct 2017 22:22:17
Jayden, I am said that cos it happens all the time on this forum. Have you not been reading the post on here after games? Look at what people have done to Ox. The guy (tho I did not want him hereBUT still gets my support) is yet to play 500 mins for LFC and was getting slaughtered on here cos he did not do a Lionel Messi when was was making cameo appearances. The lad scored vs Maribor and was still getting slated.

Same with Hendo. People want him canned or sold and say he's not been good enough this season, knowing fully well that he is carrying his heel condition and is trying to get fit while at the same time, forgetting that he bossed the LC game and got us the winner and was imperial in the Utd game. You would not know that with the way he gets ripped to bits on here incessantly and even when he plays a good game, nobody mentions that and he gets the blame whenever we lose. That is what I can't stand and will continue to speak out about.

18 Oct 2017 22:38:50
Bingo my initial post wasn't aimed at you mate. And reflecting now I probably shouldn't have posted my initial post in the first place.

18 Oct 2017 22:46:05
Oh, sorry Jayden. I too was surprised at the content of the post myself cos I know you must have seen people moan for moaning sake, slating players after having one bad game. Once again, my apologies.

18 Oct 2017 22:48:34
Well that thread was just ridiculous.

19 Oct 2017 00:14:55
Bit like a romantic drama.
I hate you. 😡
I'm sorry😥
I always loved you 😘😘.

18 Oct 2017 15:44:36
Gomez or Trent?

I was having this debate last night with my brother, he prefers Trent at RB but I think Gomez provides better balance defensively and still has enough about his game to contribute in attack aswell.

What are peoples thoughts?

Believable11 Unbelievable0

18 Oct 2017 16:09:24
Though I rate both it'd have to be Gomez for me mate.

18 Oct 2017 16:17:12
Am hopeful in time we shall see Trent battle with Clyne at rbk and Gomez one of our 4 cbks with Vvd, Matip, Lovren. Both look very good players and seem very grounded. Long may it continue.

18 Oct 2017 16:23:47
I think Gomez more naturally thinks along the way a defender should, where TAA is more naturally attacking. Both have great potential, though I don't think RB is either of their long term positions. For me I would play Gomez for the reasons you have mentioned Carra, though against teams more expected to park the bus TAA may be better option and still help develop both players.

Either way its good to see both get a chance.

18 Oct 2017 16:13:26
Play both and remove lovren. simple!

18 Oct 2017 16:51:04
I don't see any reason why we can't play both.

TAA has shown enough in the games he has played for us not to be too worried about him and Gomez looks better every game at the moment.

Gomez can't be any worse at CB than Matip or Lovren so I would put him in instead of one of them and give him time to forge a relationship.

I would also have TAA and Clyne fighting for RB. Like someone has said TAA especially when we need quality delivery from out wide to unlock stubborn defences.

18 Oct 2017 17:30:49
At this moment in time its Gomez for me.

18 Oct 2017 17:37:51
Gomez for me.

TAA is not ready at all. Watch him play again and you will see how much he struggles.

18 Oct 2017 18:56:35
May see both of them in the team in the future but maybe neither at RB. Gomez could be our long term CB and TAA may end up further forward. who knows just glad we have them both.

18 Oct 2017 18:57:12
In terms of RB, I would play Gomez vs teams that offer more of an attacking threat as he is a better defender than TAA even tho, he's not too shabby in the final third either with one assist vs Arsenal and a near-assist for Can vs Utd. TAA can play vs teams in games where we will have more of the ball and is very good in front of goal.

I do agree that TAA is Clyne's competition while Gomez should be at CB long term.

18 Oct 2017 19:56:12
To me TAA is only playing RB to have game time. He's a midfielder all day and is where he should be play imo from next season onwards.

18 Oct 2017 21:49:42
I think both players have an extremely bright future at the club. Both impress me more and more with every game. If I had to chose 1 now though Gomez just edges it for me.

18 Oct 2017 21:50:48
Gomez for me, although I see him being a CB like many on here. I think we will see major investment at CB and RB next year as Clyne is not wanted according to the eds and Trent is definatley more suited either a wide or central midfield role. That said I feel comfortable with Trent at RB just feel Gomez is the superior defender.

19 Oct 2017 02:04:15
I’m with Bingo

Gomez is clearly the more accomplished and mature defender while TAA struggles a bit in the air and positionally at times. On the other hand TAA looks a lot more natural when he gets forward, is a better crosser of the ball and has a decent shot on him.

While TAA’s learning the defensive side of the game I’d play Gomez at RB against the most teams, and TAA against the likes of Maribor. In those games Gomez can then be used at CB so he can gradually adapt to that position.

19 Oct 2017 13:34:39
Terence Trent Darby all the way for me, I find Selina Gomez a little too saccharin.

Maribor v Liverpool Match Review - A Liverpool Perspective

18 Oct 2017 10:21:24
{Ed's Note - we have posted a new article entitled, Maribor v Liverpool Match Review - A Liverpool Perspective

Believable9 Unbelievable0

18 Oct 2017 10:29:49
Spot on mate.

18 Oct 2017 11:21:12
Great review that Ed 001. Honest and fair and great to see you mention not getting carried if we don't build on it.

18 Oct 2017 12:00:58
Marvelous review Ed01 😘.

18 Oct 2017 13:17:15
Just wanted to say, thanks for the reviews Ed001, thoroughly enjoy reading them and the longer articles. keep them up!

{Ed001's Note - cheers everyone, thank you!}

18 Oct 2017 14:36:04
Ed001, why do you think klopp keep playing henderson in deeper role in other matches when it is quite obvious that Can play better in that role and probably henderson would perform better in like box to box role?

Did henderson prefer to play in deeper position?

And do you think it is possible that henderson and Can will be switch with each other?

{Ed001's Note - I think it is mainly because of Henderson's injury.}

18 Oct 2017 15:16:27
Could we possibly have player ratings (/ 10) included in your match reviews from now on ed?

{Ed001's Note - I guess so, if I remember.}

18 Oct 2017 17:55:43
Is there nothing that can be done with Hendos injury Ed001? No room for sentiment here - if it's always going to restrict him then we should probably let him go for the good of the team! sorry Hendo fans 🤔.

{Ed001's Note - it should clear up on its own eventually.}

18 Oct 2017 19:05:41
Good read, Ed. Make no mistake, Maribor may be poor BUT they are no slouches. Their first appearance in the CL group stages was in 2001 when they eliminated Lyon (who were on the rise in France) at the time. They have been in the CL multiple times since then and NO English team has won there ever in the CL.

We went there, completely respected their pedigree and their team, respected the game and gave them the hammering they deserved while at the same time, being 100% concentrated, no mistakes, no sloppiness and job done. In games like that if you are professional, you win 1 to 10-0. If you start mucking about, you either win 3-1 or draw 1-1 as Spartak did. Well done, Klopp and redmen!

18 Oct 2017 21:41:25
Good post that Bingo lad.

18 Oct 2017 09:39:25
Just thought I'd say, James Milner last night looked fantastic.
Okay it was weak opposition, but I think against the lesser teams He should start from now on instead of Hendo.
We don't need sidewards passing in these games we need all out attack and he was a big part in that 7nil.
Shocked me, well done Milly.

Believable20 Unbelievable4

18 Oct 2017 10:19:30
I think he should start against spurs on sun CAN looked better last night with Milner in the team if hendo is still carrying an injury give him a rest for a few games.

18 Oct 2017 13:17:37
Until he makes a wrong pass and everyone is calling for his head as usual.

18 Oct 2017 13:33:35
I saw nothing special from Milner yesterday - against better opposition his mistakes would have been punished and his best moves were nothing we haven't seen Hendo do even during this below par season.

18 Oct 2017 15:19:37
hjikle i respect your views on Milner but does it make sense to keep playing hendo if he's carrying an injury i think it's unfair on the player himself.

18 Oct 2017 18:26:23
redsteve - if Hendo is carrying an injury then by all means I'd be happy to go with Milner against more attacking teams and Grujic against more defensive teams until he has recovered. I always think that unless a player is really something else (Coutinho level minimum) then they will not be as good with an injury as another PL level player is without one. But if Hendo was actually just being managed after playing a lot of games recently after a long injury (including 90mins in both England games), then I'd prefer seeing Hendo back vs Spurs.

Also worth remembering that Milner is almost 32 and just played a full game. Whether he will have the juice to give the same energy on the weekend against a team that will require him to track back a lot more AND who will spread the play a lot wider with attacking full backs is a big question.

Spot on, Hijkle. I would put Hendo back in vs Spurs as he has been playing well of late vs LC and Utd. He may have just needed a rest so he'll be fresh for Spurs cos we need his energy vs Spurs in midfield where Spurs simply have not been able to match us hence, we are undefeated against them in 9 games in the PL.

18 Oct 2017 19:41:45
Hjikle ta for the reply to my post you made some good points hopfully we get the 3 points Sunday fancy us to beat them.

18 Oct 2017 20:10:44
Pretty sure that Milner is more than fit enough to play 90 mins on a Tuesday night and then again on a Sunday afternoon mate, even at 32! 👴🏻😂.

19 Oct 2017 02:21:40
He looked like his old self again, the player I though we were getting from City a couple of years ago.
That was easily his best showing for us.

18 Oct 2017 09:21:34
Will you be posting a match review ed?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - yes mate, will write it in a bit.}

18 Oct 2017 09:50:36
That should be fun Ed01. I look forward to reading it mate. What a game eh. that is some of the nicest football I've seen since Spain were winning everything. Were we really brilliant or were they just awful? or a bit of both. To me it looked like they were simply blown away, two nil down before they had even got a proper touch of the ball.

who's goal was it? Firmino or Salah? it looked like Bobbies to me, Salah kicked his foot. not sure though. it is possible for two people to kick a ball at the same time. Has that ever happened? has a goal ever been awarded to two players?

That is what Klopp is aiming for. If we remain clinical we will be pretty unstoppable. It will make everyone in the UCL look up at us for a sec and say "wow"

{Ed001's Note - I don't actually know if a goal has been awarded to two players, I would assume not though. I believe the goal has been awarded to Salah though.}

18 Oct 2017 11:17:30
Im surprised Bobby hasn't called for that goal to be his as it would be a hat trick for the lad!

18 Oct 2017 11:24:55
I know wyred. Thanks for the reply ed01, I thought not (2 player goal) but that looked pretty close to it last night.

18 Oct 2017 11:36:41
Personally I thought it was Salah who scored but haven't watched it back.

18 Oct 2017 09:01:35
Ed01, If you are around, Do you rate Harry Winks mate? I think I like him.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

{Ed001's Note - he is ok, never going to be anything special but he will have a decent Prem career.}

18 Oct 2017 09:31:53
He is decent player. Like the way Poch plays the youngsters, tho. He plays them cos he thinks they can make a difference and not just for getting game time. I wish Klopp could do the same thing BUT I'm sure he can't cos if it does not go well, the daggers will be out and his on fans will turn on him and said young player.

18 Oct 2017 09:44:25
You got to admire / Give credit to Poch in many aspects mainly on the very limited budget to work, work under Levy and the way he bring the youngsters to the first team. Harry Kane, Harry Winks, Dele Ali, Eric Dier and how many more! Winks stood out yesterday against Real. A good little player for England.

18 Oct 2017 09:50:35
Bingo I'm sure every clubs fans are the same. Positive/ negative. Or are you insinuating that LFC have the worst kind of fans otherwise.

18 Oct 2017 09:52:59
Decent at best in my opinion, he's somebody I personally wouldn't have at Liverpool but he's alright. We have our own youngsters to give chances to, problem these days is it's so difficult for youngsters to come through the ranks, at Liverpool the only ones I see really coming through are TAA, Gomez and hopefully Woodburn.

18 Oct 2017 09:57:13
Klopp isn't too bad at playing youngsters though bingo mate. TTA and Gomes are pretty much regulars now. Grujic isn't far away, Woodburn is there. When you are in our situation right now, we can't afford to take risks. The senior players need to perform. it is great to try youngsters when you're winning but if you're not, Klopp would get so much stick for it. I am honestly happy we are not in the league cup, we have too many games atm, but last night was amazing.

Sadly though, I think Danny Sturridge IS done. I really like the guy and i'm always the first to defend him but he doesn't look the same player does he?

18 Oct 2017 13:18:49
Good player, got potenial for sure. One thing that I really like about his game is the way he drives with the ball from midfield.

18 Oct 2017 19:12:03
Superred, I agree with that as well regarding Klopp having played the likes of TAA, Gomez and Woodie. I just think others like Grujic should come in cos he believes they can make a difference even tho, I agree that in our current situation, it is tough to play them. I's a touchy issue, really as you say.

18 Oct 2017 21:28:08
Agen jayden why are you making things up to start an argument a swear you would argue in an empty room by urself. Why do you feel they need to turn peoples posts around and make them into somthing that's not there.

18 Oct 2017 21:40:18
knuckles no need to bawl your eyes out at my comments or become passive aggressive again. Care to point out where I have made things up again. You questioned me last night and I replied but you never answered so I'm guessing your mum turned your wifi off as you had school today.

18 Oct 2017 21:57:50
Unfortunately we all are not on school holidays jayden and have time to spend all day on here i run a building site so only have half an hour a night to look on here. Maybe when you finish schooland get a job you will be in the same predicament lad.

{Ed025's Note - you and jayden need to stop this one to one war of words knuckles, its becoming tedious and is frankly childish, "both of you need your heads banging together" as my old dad used to say..

18 Oct 2017 22:03:53
Don’t think Grujic has a future here. Doesn’t seem anywhere near the first team. That said we all thought Moreno was on his way so I guess we’ll see.

18 Oct 2017 22:20:51
Ed25 apologies 👍.

{Ed025's Note - we just need things to be friendlier jayden and keep replies civil mate..cheers..

18 Oct 2017 22:21:11
Lol aye your right ed025 mate from now on i will skip his posts without coment hopfully he will do the same with mine.

{Ed025's Note - you dont need to ignore anyones post knuckles mate, just reply with a bit of taste mate..cheers..

18 Oct 2017 22:22:28
Lol knuckles and Jayden, you fellas should meet up for a pint.

18 Oct 2017 22:30:30
Knuckles and Jayden there’s only way to settle your beef and it’s on the street like men with a good old fashioned game of shin kicking. Go deep fellas.

18 Oct 2017 22:31:16
Any preferred flavour then ed025 mate.

{Ed025's Note - humble pie flavour sounds nice mate..

18 Oct 2017 22:36:59
Agree Ed 25 in the heat of the moment I probably sent the above without much thought. Knuckles I apologise for anything I have said that you seem to have taken to heart. No offence meant. At the end of the day we all want the same thing and that's a successful LFC (apart from you Ed25 obviously) YNWA.

{Ed025's Note - well done mate..

18 Oct 2017 22:58:28
Thats very true jayden and apologies back as i understand that it frustrates some more than others but I generally believe that we will win every game we play weather wedo or not is a different story.

18 Oct 2017 23:01:48
Ad have a pint with anybody corl mate, as am from the northeast and a lot of people say i remind them of gazza i must also be like him in other ways, one been i don't mind who i have a pint with.

19 Oct 2017 17:45:52
Ever thought of becoming a counseller Ed25?

{Ed025's Note - i think i already am one SG mate..

18 Oct 2017 09:01:30
Good morning eds/ all, I hope it's a good day for you all!

Very happy with that result! It was always a win in my opinion but 7-0? someone had to get destroyed by us at some point, it was them. Spurs next, let's do the same!

Believable17 Unbelievable2

18 Oct 2017 09:59:03
Kane will be a handful but the boys are on a role, 2 clean sheets in a row. I thought karius was decent last night, wish he'd stick with him.

tough game, we usually do em 2 0 though.

18 Oct 2017 10:10:31
Agreed, I would want us to play Karius again but something is telling me Migs will be on, which I don't understand but we can go on about that until we are blue in the face.

I don't see spurs as a team who will park the bus, not with them been at home, I think they'll really go for it, to our advantage, we stop them and counter, few goals first half, finish them off early, knock their confidence, the 3 points will be ours - In an ideal situation :) One can only hope, looking forward to the game, I'm not dreading it as much as I was the utd game.

18 Oct 2017 19:16:14
Spot on Superred and Corleone. Spurs don't park the bus and really, they did not park the bus vs RM either. They played a heck of a game and showed courage and ambition in their play while at the same time, being dogged and defensively sound for the most part. This puts paid to that pathetic notion that you have to either play attacking football or park the bus to get results. That has always been false and a false choice. You can actually do both and Spurs just proved that. It will be a heck of a game as we match up well against Spurs as a team and with our system BUT we'll see what happens. on to Sunday and Up to Pool!

18 Oct 2017 21:27:09
Too right Bingo mate, well said.

18 Oct 2017 21:29:27
Spot on corl mate onto spurs and hopfully another demolition bud.

18 Oct 2017 21:35:49
Fingers crossed knuckles mate :) I'm confident about this one.

18 Oct 2017 22:00:00
Me to mate all it takes is for us to take our chances coz without we will create plenty pal.

18 Oct 2017 22:23:30
and I think we will mate, I think the game lastnight will of boosted confidence incredibly, we'll go there and really give them a good run for their money mate I;m sure of it.

18 Oct 2017 07:26:03
What a great game last night hope we batter Spurs as well as they are not good playing at their adopted home, common you Reds!

18 Oct 2017 09:15:35
Madrid could have scored a hatful but for loris. The difference a good keeper makes.

18 Oct 2017 09:34:22
AOE, I watched the game and I'm not sure Madrid would have scored a hatful, IMO. Yes, Lloris made some good saves BUT so did Navas for RM. Could Real have won? Yes BUT so could Spurs and Spurs could easily have scored 3 goals and potentially should have had a penalty. Hence, a draw is a fair result.

18 Oct 2017 11:23:41
Fair point bingo- hatful may have been an exaggeration on my part. Was blown away by that loris save but in fairness both keepers did indeed shine for that match.

18 Oct 2017 19:18:43
AOE, I agree that save was insane. I was in the bar watching the game and we all screamed goal and then, THAT happened. Great game of gfootball and maybe the "busparkers" (they know who they are) could learn something from this game. Even Maribor had more shots at goal vs "them"

18 Oct 2017 06:26:16
Morning everyone. Fantastic result last night. Let's hope we can keep it up and get a positive result at the weekend. I have a question for ed001 if you're about mate. If I can remember correctly we were heavily linked with Raul in the summer of 05, as a kid at the time I can remember being incredibly excited and getting my dad to buy a paper almost everyday to try and keep updated. Do you know if there was any ever truth in the rumours? I absolutely think we'd have won a couple of titles with him leading the line, awesome player. Thanks for your time on the site.
Cheers.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - there was truth in the interest and the possibility, as he was a bit of an arse behind the scenes there at times. There was a portion of the club that wanted him out, but they feared for the backlash from the fans if Raul was sold, so it ended up going nowhere.}

18 Oct 2017 08:33:55
Good thing that did not happen. Love Raul to bits ans is a RM legend but like Ed said, he was a true definition of the phrase, "Cancer in the dressing room".

18 Oct 2017 11:20:27
But would he have been outside of Real? Was he a problem at Schalke (i think)?

18 Oct 2017 05:58:16
I wouldn't expect too much for the spurs game. we always look a little off the pace after a mid week ucl game. I guess they had one too. I think we will win but wouldn't be surprised if we drew. it is why we have drawn so many games, ucl takes it out of you and you get much less time for full training.

Believable4 Unbelievable4

18 Oct 2017 07:25:23
So how could they win?

18 Oct 2017 08:36:28
Superrd, I would not bet on that. Poch is known for being a merciless task-master and that Spurs team is physically built to play at a very high tempo every game. It will be a very difficult game for both teams as we match up well against them and we are the only team in the top 6 that Poch still can't beat. We shall see.

18 Oct 2017 10:02:32
respect to spurs but they have been punching above their weight the last few years. Not the same at Wembley either. We have a fantastic record against Spurs, without kane they ain't all that. They do have a high intensity bingo, but not as high as ours. I really think we win that game.

18 Oct 2017 11:24:45
I think we match up well because they come to play their game but they certainly offer a high quality challenge. I believe we are capable of winning but will come down to whether we are having a good finishing day and avoid brain fades.

18 Oct 2017 11:30:35
but you're right bingo. poch has done fantastic with that spurs side. very good team, with one of the worlds finest CFs. high intensity suits us, we have Brazilians.

18 Oct 2017 13:43:08
Seems fair to point out that Llorente scored twice against us with the type of service that Swansea could provide. Spurs are massively helped by Kane, he's a world class player. But they are lots more than just one striker.

19 Oct 2017 02:15:20
You wouldn't expect too much, but think we will win but wouldn't be surprised if we drew.
Makes perfect sense?! Lol!

18 Oct 2017 05:08:02
A few thoughts from the game

- Again a good balance to the side with a disciplined deep midfielder to screen the defence and another clean sheet with almost zero chances given away (not playing the best team but you can only play who's in front of you)
- I expected Klopp to rotate more but hats off for broadly sticking with his first team to build on the Man Utd performance. I expect the confidence boost of the 7 goals will be more important than had he saved legs for against Tottenham
- Salah excellent yet again, but so were rest of the front three, and Milner looked lively (might be a threat to Gini? )
- Can had a good game from deep, I think that's his best position to be honest
- Good play for the back 4 and nice for TAA to get minutes
- Solanke looks better than Sturridge
- nice for Ox to get on the scoresheet

Overall a great day and another step up the ladder of looking solid at the back while dangerous going forward. Let's hope we can beat Tottenham then I think we're in very good shape having played most of our top 6 rivals already.

18 Oct 2017 07:30:33
Milner is a threat to Henderon and did more than what Hendo did all season! Can was the key. He starts the attack from the deep. Only player capable of putting a tackle when needed. He is so powerfully built that he skip pass players when charging forward. His only downfall is his discipline and awareness ( when to charge and when not to ) He will excell alongside a proper holding midfielder maybhe at Juventus.
Coutinho was simply excellent. His vision to pick Moreno, Salah, Milner, or any outfield player is what place him inside the elite!

18 Oct 2017 10:05:52
you're right about Milner sgred. he was fantastic, really really good, looked like the milner of old. Glad he plays for us. Another bonus from the rebirth of Alberto Moreno, another fantastic match for the lad, I think I said it before but he is becoming one of the top left backs in the premier league.
