great site :) {Ed001's Note - it says 'You'll Never Be Alone' nothing to do with the YNWA at all, which is why it is in the dodgy sightings.}

Just a quick question to anyone who can help ! i am having my brothers season ticket next year he currently sits in the centenary stand is it possible when i renew it to move to a different stand ie the kop or main stand ??????

Have nothing to back this up but thought i wd post it, my mate just text me ( spurs fan, went wit a few portugese mates from college ) he was at the game in dublin tonight and when falcao was celebrating hes shirt said with jesus youll never walk alone, he said he didn't get a good look at it ( i didn't even watch the game ) but every1 in the stadium was talking about it. .

great site :)

Edd im quite confused liverpool aparently bidded for hazard who id love to see at the kop, but didn't hazard say hell only join barca or arsenal. {Ed002's Note - As far as I know Liverpool have no bid for Hazard. A simple story of asking to be kept informed of the player's progress seems to have escalated out of all proportion. Remember last Saturday when Liverpool had bought Aguero? And yesterday when mata joined up? I think we need to take a step back to see if the interest is real.}

I'm sorry but this freidel stuff is a load of. . We would get about 3 seasons about of him at the most! And even that's pushing it.

Hello Ed's, been a fan of the site for a while now, but this is my first post. Just wanted to sound off at the young fanboys and their wet dream fantasy football posts linking every big name to the club that they heard the rumour from their "best mates, brothers, window cleaner" or what have you. I wish a few of them were true but I sure we'll find out in due course as Kenny handles the transfers the Liverpool way. As a side note I am not totally convinced that Carroll was the best decision on our part and will have to prove me wrong from the get go next season (anyone agree?), if he does, I predict a very successful season. Anyway rant over. Keep up the good work Ed's its much appreciated.

Paddy B
YNWA {Ed001's Note - thanks mate, I do agree with you, but I back Kenny's choice over my own regarding Carroll!}

Maybe I'm a moran but what about Cameron Jerome as cover up front for Big Andy. Great pace, strength, and bags of potential in my opinion once he figures out how to score. Remember that the knock on Torres was his inability to finish when at Atletico. Probably wouldn't cost much. Hit me with your best shots.

It's 10:00. I'm still waiting mate. ;)

18 May 2011 21:58:53
I've a strong feelings that KK is going to deliver and challenge for title next season. We will be making 2-3 signings. Just so you might know that he has said that he is not interested in greedy players rather he is interested in players that are hungry to play football so don't expect big signings. From my source, Ashley young is one of the greedy player asking for big wages and don't expect him to be a 'pool player

18 May 2011 21:54:57
Hey ed was on youtube there, type in luis suarez 60 yard shot, its absolutely unbelievable!

18 May 2011 21:54:27
Ed with Liverpool making an official bid for Hazard and strong links with Young. Do you think they will be our major summer signings with others like Adam, Marveux just used as squad rotation relying on the youth set up more to provide a squad?

Especially if we don't qualify for europe i don't see the point in a massive squad. What are you opinions? {Ed002's Note - Official bid for Hazard?}

18 May 2011 21:38:21
Have you heard anything about this Kelly Cates 'slip up' Sounds silly to me, what is it?

Are there any new rumours out by the way?

{Ed002's Note - Please don't get taken in over such nonsense.}

18 May 2011 21:36:58
Hi edds i no people have all ready said about eden hazard and i said for a long time i would love him at liverpool but would you want him at liverpool? and do you really think we can get him thanks
lee {Ed002's Note - I think it unlikely - but there is much information further down the rumour page.}

I know no1 will believe me but thought i might as well say it, i saw rumors linking us with james milner and as off this time, there is nothing in that, i actually know hes agent, not hes best mate but i know him, he said theres nothing into and him and most of the city players are still thrilled about champions league football :)

great site lads :)

. . . . . .

They might not still thrilled when they buy extra players and knock them further down the pecking order.

18 May 2011 21:24:40
Will we follow up on our January interest in Stephen Warnock?

For £2-3million surely he'd do a good enough job in that slot? Picking from a fully fit Aurelio, Warnock & Robinson would be our best option if we can't get someone of Baines, Coentrao, Lahm or Cissokho's quality.

Ed002 the hazard rumours are not old recycling , its the press just finding out what i already knew yesterday , i know u think theres no chance of signing him but the club have been in talks with lille and want to sign hazard again as i said yesterday its up to him he has options , but won't be played at real and i think hes got more chance of winning silverware with us next season instead of arsenal.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
The Ed obviously believes this story is new because when asked to rate 1-10 chances of him signing he no longer gives a 0 now it's a 1 lol!

{Ed002's Note - I changed it from a 0 to a 1 to stop any more grief.}

One for the Eds and fellow Liverpool fans to lighten the mood! Please show ed, it's not that bad! Lol

A man is queuing at the 5 items or less checkout. The girl in front of him turns around and looks at his basket. He has a 4 pack of Heineken and an Indian meal for 1. Shes smiles at him. He looks in her basket and sees a small bottle of wine and a Chinese meal for 1. He says to her "You're single aren't you?" She gives a girly giggle and says "yes, how did you know?" The man replies "cause your an ugly t**t.

If you had something to sell would you accept the first offer knowing other offers would come in for more money or would you sit tight and wait for the highest bidder. Do not expect anything as soon as the window opens it will take time. Trust in KK they don't have to be word beaters with massive pricetags to play in a world class team, look at Hansen, Dalglish, Rush etc. .

mata
hazard
falcao
marin
cissokho
m'vila
sissoko
lukaku
muniain
rolando
jose angel
turan
a.johnson
sakho
payet
matuidi
just some of the people weve been linked with all excellent players all under 24 with potential some we won't get but just glad weve been linked with them not rubbish players

If liverpool have £25million they could buy Leighton Baines, but im guessing he wouldn't want to play for a team that doesn't have champions league football

He's been playing for teams that have never had a sniff of Champions leauge football all his career.If we sign him he'll have to wait one more season as we'll be back in CL soon.£25 MILLION is totally unrealistic though.

Ed do you think we'll sign any players? who do you think we'll sign? I know you spend all your time working hard on this site without pay but I wanted to know who we might sign and i can't be bothered to read the whole pages. With all of the top six teams spending this summer I don't think we'll make the Champions league, what do you think? when do you think we are likely to win the premier league? I am sick of all theses mancs saying we have never won the prem league. When do you think we'll get a new stadium ed? or when will Anfield be modified to a 90k seater? now that KK is back do we have a btter chance of attracting good players? how long do you think KK will stay for ed? KK, Bob Paisley and Shanks are all better managers than Alex Ferguson. Ed do you think if we win the prem league do you think Alex Ferguson will retire because he is not the best manager in the league any more? Thanks.

I think EDs should refrain from even bothering to reply to ppl asking 'what are the chance on a scale of 1-10'. Its the same Q&As everyday!
Also if you can't be bothered to read the rumours posted then don't bother asking EDs to do a round up for you, the rest of us don't want to keep re reading the same blooming answer!
And if you really have to make up something in order to try and sound important or ITK then its a bit pathetic. .
Starting a rumour does not a signing make!

Yeah ed marcus trinidad here the pundit was andy townsend i think {Ed001's Note - ah that says it all! I do wish they would use pundits who are actually worth listening to. Much as I dislike George Graham, there is no getting away from the fact that he knows more about defensive positional play than anyone else, why he isn't used as a pundit any more I will never know. He used to do tactical talks in Sky's early days and you could learn so much from him. Whereas these days we are 'treated' to the likes of Andy Townsend and Alan 'Drones For England' Smith giving their 'expert' opinion on games.}

Just watching the europa league final. .

I am really impressed with Hulk. .Eds, is there any chance Liverpool could sign him. He wud be great to team up with Suarez and Carroll.

Also. .Is there any truth about Liverpool making a possible £20+ million bid for eden hazard? I was made to believe he didn't want to join Liverpool.

{Ed002's Note - Please read the earlier posts. Start first thing this morning and you will find everything to answer your questions.}

Eds have any of the players you want for your clubs ever come true in the past or recent transfer window.DORSET RED {Ed001's Note - McAllister is the only one I can think of offhand, I have always rated him since I saw him play for Leeds against us at Anfield in 92 when they won the league. He absolutely ran Coventry for a couple of years before we got him as well, though I did think it might be too late for him to do much.}

I really love the optimism and enthusiasm we have as LFC supporters but realism is being thrown outta the window. Unfortunately all the players that are being linked to Liverpool won't come unless we outbid the competition. and force the club selling to sell to us. Mata, Young etc will not come to LFC unless they have no other option available than stay at their current clubs. We may have to make do with players from 2nd tier clubs who will offer less of an attraction than Liverpool.

The problem is the players we are chasing are players who are being linked to clubs who will offer a higher level of football, the only way we can prise these players away from 2nd tier clubs is to outbid and force the hand of the selling club.

So forget Mata, Hazard, Aguero these r players who we cannot outbid other clubs to their signatures. Young, Adam, Arda, Baines, Shawcross, Cahill are some of the realistic targets.

Dont want to sound like a party pooper but i think Reds fans would agree that we have been let down for many years.

I may be wrong but im only trying to be a realist. Too many times have we have been let down by media reports. Lets keep focused.

One player id like to see at anfield next year is wait for it! ! aqualani! he wasnt giving a fair crack, when he joined we knew he had this really bad injury and that when he was ready to play it would take him time to get use to the premier league, but by then the season was over so after a good pre season hodgson ends up loaning him out which may have been good for him but i think he is a good player who would make our squad better maybe not a first 11 but defo as a squad player, i say bring him back and get shot off poulson, jovanavic, greek, ngog and more, wot u reckon guys give aqua a chance????????

Ive noticed alot of people on here are stating that they want to be rid of gerrard.
Gerrard has been there for us for many years, he has dragged us up off the ground countless time, there arent many players who have been as loyal as him. Lets not forget that he could of left us for another team at anytime during his career but he chose to stay with us and fight to put us back where we belong.

He is undoubtably someone that the youngsters look up to seing how he came through the academy and went on to captain the team he loves, surely having him around the club would spur the kids on to want some of that glory.
He isn't as fast as he used to be but he can still fit into the team.

I know his wages are high but he hasnt got that many years left in his playing career so lets just look at what he has done for us, he stayed when he could of gone elsewhere but he chose to stay.
He desereves to lift a premier league trophy in liverpool colours and i think we owe him that for the years of service that he has given us, or at the very least he should be given the option. {Ed001's Note - I would rather not have the youngsters learning off him! He is extremely arrogant and full of himself, we need less of that at the club and more of the down to earth graciousness that Kenny Dalglish displays. We have no need of any player to teach the kids how to be great when we are managed by our greatest ever player.}

Do you think ed he was trying to tell me who we are going to buy ;D

18 May 2011 18:51:26
Ed I know he probably wouldn't like to leave Chelsea but wouldn't Kalou be a good back up striker for us.
Already formed an understanding and deadly partnership with one of our own and doesn't mind being a benchwarmer.And he did show quite a bit of form recently as well so could be a good buy for us.But maybe the ginger beer I had this morning has gone to my head and im rambling like David Hassellfoff ova a big mac.

RED WILLY {Ed001's Note - I think you must have been on something when you watched him, he is a terrible player, he loses the ball constantly.}

LAVESSI AND MATA are the two attacking players liverpool want wickham and shane long will come in as back up to main pair

That midfield would destroy a lot of teams. take our carroll and put sissoko with gerrard and lucas and we would win the league.

18 May 2011 18:34:40
City are keen on signing him, i cannot see Juan Mata rejecting City over us. Unless he is a Liverpool fan . . ?

I've heard he's good friends with Pepe Reina and as we are on the rise and he will see we are a very big club he might join. I can see it happening.

If he does go to City, it would probably be the last straw for Adam Johnson who would want to leave, most likely for us.

Though I believe Mata would be a fantastic signing, so would Johnson.

On the transfer targets , I'm sure the owners know what needs to be done for us to be challenging or winning the league.
So some of these mediocre players were linked with I can't see the owners being interested in signing them.
When they came in they commented on the wage bill being so high with the lack of talent.
So I'm sure FSG are going buy us some real talent , because if they don't splash the cash we will end up with everyones 2nd choices.

Ed/ s

Now i am most likely to get shot down over this but in my opinion are we not looking to finish in the top 5? Has KK really aimed for 6th and no Europa league?

My reason for saying this is re Sundays game, we didn't play at our best like the previous games against Fulham etc. Were you would have thought with 5th place up for grabs we would come out like a red rag to a bull! Also the decision to play Carroll, knowing full well he is not 100% fit. So we are at disadvantage to begin with, as we know he's not match fit etc.

Also KK comments today about this weekends game, to me he is not coming across as to say we will win it, its just "let see what happens"!

With no Europa league to upset our season and Spuds (not saying they stand between us and CL) having to fly all over Europe on a wet Thursday evening etc that leaves it clear for us to nab at least 4th spot (I 100% believe we will win the premier league next season) giving us vital rest days in between.

I have always maintained that missing out on Europa will be a benefit to us in more ways than one. So come Sunday don't be surprised at another 3points lost as i think KK has set his sites on bigger fish.

I await everyone punishment for my post.

We only need 5 players even if we sell all the deadwood(10 players).thay never play anyway.
left back
central defender
midielder(playmaker)
2 wingers
and a striker
i have no idea who we will sign, but trust me if we don't sign ERIKSON from ajax, we will be talking about years to come.
i saw him last sunday this kid has it all, a mix of iniesta and xavi.
sell
kyriakos
poulsen
cole
ngog
jovanovic
aqua
aurelio
insue
degen
darby

not being in europe is a good thing for us right now.we will play for the league and cups.no need to replace all the players this window.
if we get 5 real quality players in this window next season we will be in the cl and then we will buy 2/ 3 players.
WE ARE STRONGER THAN WE BELIEVE TO BE.QUALITY LIKE SUAREZ MAKES A DIFFERENCE AND WE HAVE A FEW MISSING THATS ALL
NEXT SEASON WE WILL HAVE AGGER KELLYAND GERRARD BACK.
I CANT WAIT FOR NEXT SEASON.
WE COULD SUPRIZE EVERYONE

I'm sure you've all seen that Pepe Reina has come out saying how a chat with Damien Commoli has convinced him to stay for the long-term. .

He now says he fully believes in the 'project' headed by FSG etc.

He goes on to say that summer transfer targets were discussed in depth and the gist of it all was that big investment in the summer was coming

Seeming as previous top players at the club left because of a lack of investment in world class players (Torres, Alonso, Mascherano. ), surely this suggests these 'promises' about high summer investment will bear fruit since Pepe's convinced?

Anyone else excited for the summer transfer window?! To me, it seems as if we've lined up one or two world class marquee signings by the sounds of things. .your thoughts?

And also to add something to my earlier post about who I think we will/ won't buy, I highly doubt that we will get Marko Marin, Mario Gomez, Charlie Adam, Adel Tarrabt, or anyone of the players people are mentioning. Where would these purchases put players like Lucas, Meireles, Spearing, Kelly, Kuyt, who have been playing very well for us so far? There is no need to buy new players to replace already quality players and make them sit on the bench. It just doesn't make sense in my eyes.
Once again, this isn't a rumour, just a realistic opinion of things to come.

Now i took this to mean that the player or players they couldnt mention was involved with an english club . Could anyone clear this up for me . Is it the same all over europe ? And can't say because the transfer window is not open yet ? Forgive me if im being nieve .

18 May 2011 16:49:12
Okay, all of this talk about Kun Ag ero and Torres coming to us is, in my eyes, complete nonsense. Why would we splash around £45 million on a attacker when we have Suarez, Carroll and an in-form Kuyt? And why would Kenny Dalglish bring back Torres after the remarks he made about the club when he left? My view is that the only realistic targets for us will be Ashley Young, either Mata or Hazard, Clichy or Enrique or Cisshoko, Cahill and *maybe* Adam Johnson. This isn't a rumour, more my perspective of the current situation and a reply to some of the idiocy that gets posted on this site ( which may I add, thanks Eds for keeping this up, it's great to keep up-to-date with any transfer possibilities).

I know it was reported on various sites (metro, mirrorfootball, liverpoolfc tv and many others) back in December that he was being watched but I haven't heard anything since
I don't have any inside source at Anfield so I have to rely on Internet rumours for my information. I do have a sporting tipster friend (who's horseracing info has been terrible for the last month by the way!) who still insists that our top target is Lukaku.

"Lets buy the Ba from west-ham. " Well we cannot do that as he is on loan from Hooffenheim and will go back to them now. We could still buy him from them and for a reasonable fee but I agree he would be worth looking at. Certainly better than Cole!

All this talk of signing Aguero, Mata et al being unrealistic is daft. We have to be realistic, if we're going to compete with United, Chelsea, Arsenal and now City, then money HAS to be spent on top quality players, not someone who'll cost a couple of million and will hopefully do a job. We need top players who'll deliver consistently, and unfortunately in today's market that costs big money, £25 mil upwards.

To The Ed's, Macca, or anyone else with some inside information. What is the situation with Joe Cole? We have already seen KK get an extra 20% out of most of the LFC squad since he has been back, and We have also seen that KK is not afraid of giving under achieveing/ players struggling for form some game time, so why does J.Cole only come on with 5mins to go?
Is he truly past it, Is he not applying himself in training, or has he just not settled to life at Anfield?
I hope that something clicks for him pre-season and we start to see the Joe Cole we thought we were signing cos that could save us a fair bit of money.

Cheers

Tommy Walsh {Ed001's Note - he is just simply not good enough, he gives his all, but he is not the player he was, which wasn't really good enough anyway. He will be allowed to leave in the summer if a buyer can be found.}

Just wanted to clarify something with all the fans that keep mentioning a 'transfer budget' I don't recall there being a figure set. That's not to say there will be a bottomless pit of money but Henry and Werner have both said that money is there if the transfer makes sense financially.

So theoretically Aguero, Mata and every other world class player mentioned could be signed although we all know that won't happen but as for KK blowing the budget on one player I think this is a moot point as the board will decide if a move is viable.

The way I see it is whether we get Aguero or not I think being linked to players of that ilk and I mean seriously linked is a positive thing we are clearly moving in the right direction. Keep the faith look at what KK has done with the squad we have now if anything he has given them belief the summer will be exciting

First of all NOBODY would pay 25 million for Baines and secondly, he currently plays for Everton for christ sake who never had European football this season or next season, and Liverpool would be a MASSIVE step up, so go back to your own site and stop making a fool of yourself!

Hey Ed,

hope your having a fine day. i just wanted to let everybody know that although their rumours about messi, ronaldo c. adam and the next door neighbours dogs brother are all fun to read it is also getting quite boring. all i keep hearing is "the surprise signing will be. ." firstly, how do you kno there will be a "surprise signing". secondly, if there is one, he will be none of the players you hav mentioned because apparently its a SURPRISE! ! Jeez! however, i will settle for opinions, and in my opinion the only signing that would be a "surprise" if it DIDNT happen is Ashley Young to us. the man utd talk is his agent just trying to call liverpools bluff. well done agent of a.young but we r better at poker than you!

I predict he will be future England capt. and I hope he achieves it when wearing the red shirt of Liverpool Football Club

Sergio Aguero , Eden Hazard, Alexis Sanchez , Juan Mata and Yann M Vila are just some of the names that Liverpool have been linked with in recent months. For any Reds fan, such names sound exciting but I feel we have to be realistic about the sort of players that will arrive at Anfield in the summer.

Due to the fact that Liverpool will not be in the Champions League or possibly Europe at all next season, it means our sights have to be lowered somewhat. In the case of somebody like Kun Aguero who is expected to leave Atletico Madrid in the summer, the Argentine s price tag alone of £40m+ will be enough to put off the Reds. On others such as Eden Hazard, Alexis Sanchez and Juan Mata, price would not be an issue but it will necessarily come down to the specific aims and desires of the players themselves.

For Eden Hazard for example, he has stated recently that he doesn t want to move to Real Madrid because he fears he wouldn t get a first team place at the Bernabeu. A potential opportunity for the Reds to exploit then, but Hazard then goes on to explain that Inter or Arsenal would be his preferred destination. Places where he can get first team football but also, crucially, play in the Champions League like he can with Lille next season.

A similar problem would most probably arise when trying to purchase Juan Mata. The Spanish playmaker is a player I have long admired, but if the reports are true that Manchester City are indeed interested, the Reds may have little chance of acquiring the Valencia midfielder. City can offer more money and Champions League football next season, while we would have to hope that our history and stature alone could attract the player. The same could be said of another winger Alexis Sanchez who is also attracting interest from Eastlands.

At the end of the day, Director of Football Damien Comolli has been tasked with the responsibility of bringing players in who are good value for money. The task will be to find players, near to Hazard, Mata and Sanchez s abilities, but who are valued at less money and are more likely to come. For that reason, the Reds have also been linked with the likes of Ashley Young , Stewart Downing, Charlie Adam, Marko Marin, Eljero Elia, Iker Muniain and Blaise Matuidi in recent months. Players not necessarily less sought after but more likely to move to Liverpool due to their own contract situations or the circumstances at their own clubs. Young and Downing s Aston Villa are currently 13th, Adam s Blackpool are 18th, Marin s Werder Bremen finished 13th, Elia s Hamburg finished 8th, Muniain s Bilbao are in 6th with Matuidi s St Etienne lying 8th in Ligue One.

Pepe Reina mentioned yesterday that he had spoken to Damien Comolli:

Recently I have talked with Comolli, asking about the future, and I believe in the club and this project. I am happy here. We know how much work there is to be done, but I believe we are in the right place and we are going in the right direction. Next season will be more positive. The quicker we improve, the better for the club, but we cannot change overnight. The owners are preparing a big summer and hopefully the players that come in will improve the squad.

It is clear he wanted to be reassured about the targets the club were pursuing before committing his future. It would be interesting to know what Comolli and Dalglish have in store for the summer but my instincts tell me that the list more like resembles the ones I have listed second, rather the first list at the top of the article. What do you think?

RE: Why do people still want Adam

Liverpool want a cheap knock off of paul schoes and they can't afford real thing. They will just have to make do with bargin knock-off. Like those cheap watches you see on hoilday. It seems like a good buy but it falls apart within a week.

My 2p - past his peak and regularly goes missing. Unless we get a LB who slots in perfectly straight away we'll need a winger on the Left who doesn't mind tracking back. Arshavin's still got some skills but he has a face like a smacked backside and chooses when he can bothered putting in a tackle. I'd rather take someone of arguably less talent, like the Jarvises of this world, but who Dalglish can mould into a team player.

RE: NESV want to buy young, up and coming players

RE:Giving everyone a Chance of Champions League Football

The system needs to change. This top four system doesn't for for the premiership. The Top three should go into c/ l eg man utd, chelsea, arsenal.

4, 5, fa cup, carling cup should go into play off for c/ l spot.

So at the end of season.

4-man city
5-tottenham
fa/ runners up-stoke - stoke
carling cup- Birmingham

The winner of the knock out competition (play offs) gets to go into the champions league. The rest go into Europa league cup.

This competition can be played as an exhibition match in different country for barclays prem league. To show off the game to the Americans/ Asia/ Australia. It can be played anywhere.
It would be a quick playoff competition held over a weekend/ week.

*The fans from different countries would love it would love it.

*The English premiership would have a NHL style game shown aboard.

*Americans love the word Play-offs

*The FA and Carling cup all of sudden become worth something. The chance of champions league football

* Teams like Totteham, Man City, Aston Villa, Everton, Liverpool who hover in 4 or 5 position will get a chance at champions league football.

It the system needs to change. More english teams need to have the chance of playing in the Champions league

{Ed002's Note - (1) Would you want this change if Liverpool came fourth? (b) This will almost certainly not be allowed under UEFA rules.}

We should remove Steven Gerrard from the squad £140,000 a week £7, 2million a year. Getting ride of one high earner be better than getting ride of three medium earners

Depends on the medium earners mate, I can think of a few people combined at the club that are no where near as good as Gerrard. I can't beleive people want rid of him, hes class, and was made for the prem. Our loss will be someone elses gain.

Ed, which of the following free tranfers would you like to see at Liverpool?

Harry Kewell, currently at Galatasaray
Morgan Amalfitano, currently at Lorient
Simone Perrotta, currently at AS Roma
Clarence Seedorf, currently at AC Milan
Cesar Delgado, currently at Lyon
Sylvain Marveaux, currently at Rennes (already likely)
Hamit Altintop, currently at Bayern Munich
Thiago Alcantara, currently at Barcelona
Andrea Pirlo, currently at AC Milan
Miroslav Klose, currently at Bayern Munich

{Ed002's Note - A lot of these belong in an old folks home. I am not so sure any other than Marveaux and Altintop have any chance.}

Just seen on Spanish TV that Juve are in pole position to sign Aguero (was in a bar getting lunch). Not a definate but most likely apparently.

On another subject completely, why do people and eds continue to mention "Koptalk" in your posts if you all hate him so much.? surely you can see that you are playing right into his hands by keeping on bringing it up.? crazy.

Mb {Ed001's Note - because people keep mentioning him and using every thing he dreams up to tell us we are wrong.}

I hope you are right as a 3rd striker and if under £5m this would be good business. However I thought anelka was offered as part of the torres deal and lfc refused. Is that right eds?

Actually, I think it was Anelka who said he wasn't interested in coming to LFC.

-Red Socks {Ed001's Note - he wasn't even asked, we were offered a choice of players and told Chelsea we didn't want any player. He might have said that anyway, but it wasn't an issue as we refused to consider a part-ex.}

18 May 2011 13:20:06
My thoughts on the below is that Arshavin does not even look interested anymore, he lit up the prem when he arrived and hasn't performed the same since. Wouldn't want him - Arsene seems to sell players when he can get the most value for them when they have a few years left of worth to give to the club.

I was reading that Arsenal are going to cash in on Andrey Arshavin . I think he could be a good buy for Liverpool. Proven in front of goal and has Premiership experience.

Your thoughts . .

" KK is not going to blow a huge proportion of his transfer budget on 1 player"

If i hear this one more time i think i will explode! !

We do not have a transfer budget, we have a list of players that we will attempt to purchase if the deal is right

If Aguero makes financial sense and fits the ethos then we will try and sign him. If we get rid of the fringe players and loanees then that would cover Aguero (or ANother players) wages
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -There is a budget, it may not be known by anyone other than the owners but they will not have written a blank cheque for this summer, there will be a limit, John Henry & co are not stupid enough to run the club into financial difficulty.

If hazard really did just want champs league as some suggest surely he would stay where he is? I personally think we are prob most likely to get him as he said he wants to move to a big club which in my opinion leaves 2 candidates in england, utd or lfc. Arsenal are not a big club

I urge all people posting "AGUERO' favoured rumours to rise above mediocrity.
= = = = = = = = = = =
bit harsh calling aguero mediocre. but i agree now we have suarez we have no need for aguero. brilliant player but not one we need, let someone else pay the wages. 45m pounds or euros can buy a pair of very decent wingers, and i imagine both wingers wages would be less than agueros alone.

{Ed002's Note - I guess then it begs the question of Mata or Hazard? Who would you prefer as the surprise signing?}

For me it would have to be Hazard. It's more of a risk but has the potential to be better than Mata and he would ask for a smaller wage.

Who would you choose ed?

{Ed002's Note - Mata by a mile for me.}

We should remove Steven Gerrard from the squad £140,000 a week £7, 2million a year. Getting ride of one high earner be better than getting ride of three medium earners.

Hi eds U people keep on saying we have no chance of signing hazard. But today he was linked with us and only arsenal in the running with us having upper hand. Isn't this something u said about suarez in january and still we signed him. So it seems like u people don't know everything.

{Ed002's Note - I think it is perfectly likely, as I have said, that there will be one surprise signing. I have suggested that could be Mata when pressed for an opinion. If it turns out to be Hazard then so be it, I will be wrong. It is absolutely impossible to get everything right and I appreciate that there are people like you hiding behind the anonymity of the internet who take every chance have a dig at the Editors. 1000 curses on Ed002 for having an opinion. Don't you know that "registering an interest" means that he's living in the Malmaison right now, eating his lunch whilst a signed contract is being couriered to Anfield? And curses too for missing the "not" out of your post. May you be plagued with 10 posts an hour from him asking for your opinion on the "Sanchez, Aguero, Mata and Thierry Henry sharing a taxi on the way to Melwood" rumour.

The copy and paste below is taken from 'The Fields of Anfield Road' status on facebook which was posted at 12.30 today. .

'We never reproduce stories from other press sources as so many are unreliable. But Eden Hazard story in the Daily Mirror has some grounds. We have 2 emails from trusted insiders confirming this story.'

'Kenny and Comoli told, you find the players, we'll find the finances. Werner may soon find himself with legend status.'

Payet looks class and has a similiar playing style to Ashley Young.

M'villa looks tough and built to play in the premier league. He can have similiar playing ability to Michael Essien.

Marveaux, although hampered by injury looks like a good addition to the team.

Vertogen, good defensively for Ajax. He can fill in for the injury prone Agger. He is also good friends with Suarez.

Enrique, can do a job at left back. He will also boost the Spainish continguent in the squad.

Hi Ed's. First time poster, long time reader. Just a quick message to highlight some food for thought. I know our current transfer policy is to look for the brightest young talent and for those reasons some people are writing off the potential of signing older players (e.g Scott Parker). Gary McAlister was regarded in the same light when he arrived at Liverpool and look at the difference having that older head involved in the engine room of the team made. He became crucial to our success in the cup winning treble. Surely having that steadying player in the absence of players like Gerrard would be of massive benefit to any young player we bring into the club? I think he would be an excellent addition to our squad. As for other players, I trust that DC and KK will do what is best for our beloved club. Some of the rumours on here make for fantastic reading and in my dreams I would love all of the players that seem to be linked. But I think we all need to keep a sense of perspective and trust the people who are paid to make these decisions. Ed's - Keep up the good work, I appreciate you must be working all the hours God sends to keep this site going, and I for one appreciate the hard work and effort. {Ed001's Note - isn't that why we have Kuyt and Carragher?}

I posted the following back in Feb this year and after seeing crazy statements of players wages, I feel it adequate to remind people of our players wages. This is facts and summations that I've found from extensive research. Where *** is found shows where I have updated these stats to the current date.

Liverpool Rumours
The following is research I have undertaken on potential out-goings of Liverpool and in-comings and how they will affect the wage bill of the club. Most of the figures are taken from a variety of sources, more than one source has been taken for the figures. In some instances there were no sources found so estimates based on common sense is used.

Ageing players expected to leave in summer:
Milan Jovanovic (will be 30 in summer) - £50,000 per week
Joe Cole (29) - £90,000 per week ***(Based on signing on fee over the period of his contract)***
Sotirios Kyrgiakos (will be 32 in summer) - reported £26,000 per week
Maxi Rodriguez (30) - took a pay cut to join Liverpool, was earning £85,000, now rumoured to be around £70,000

Dirk Kuyt (Will be 31 in summer) - Estimated £30,000 per week ***Donates 40% of his wage to his charity and this figure does not take into account his new contract or whether the £30,000 is before or after his charity donation***

***Chance of Dirk Kuyt leaving this summer is slim to none which slightly alters the end calculations***

Paul Konchesky (Will be 30 in summer) - Couldn't find out wage but would estimate around £25,000 per week
Christian Poulsen (Soon to be 31) - Couldn't find but would estimate £30,000-£40,000.

On the lower estimates of these wages, that would reduce the Liverpool wage bill by £321,000
per week or approximately £16, 700,000 per year.

Seeing as Liverpool sold Ryan Babel (£60,000 per week) and Fernando Torres (£120,000 per week)
and brought in Luis Suarez (estimated £60,000-£70,000 per week) and Andy Carroll (£80,000 per week)

There's a further saving of £30,000-£40,000 per week decreasing the wage bill by £351,000-£361,000 per week.

Now, Liverpool owners said that they wanted to increase the wage structure of the club and Kenny Dalglish has said that he wants to remove/ decrease the amount of players in the squad ***and bring through youth players***. With over £350,000 per week/ £16,000,000 per year to spend on wages (minimum) it's becoming a very tantalising prospect to imagine the amount and quality of transfers we can expect in summer! So for those who think that we won't be able to compete with other clubs in terms of wages, think again!

In response to this post

I've heard of some interest in bringing Anelka back to anfield. Apparently he believes he'll get more first team chances over Suarez and Caroll than he'll get ahead of Drogba and Torres should they both still be at Chelsea next season. Maybe one of the eds can clear this up? Also, are we really interested in Brad Friedel? Surely too old for the kind of squad we're looking for. {Ed001's Note - Friedel yes but I have heard of no interest in Anelka.}

I hope you are right as a 3rd striker and if under £5m this would be good business. However I thought anelka was offered as part of the torres deal and lfc refused. Is that right eds?

Red Kev {Ed001's Note - I am having a break this weekend, need one before the summer madness starts! Only trouble is I miscounted my weeks when I booked it and thought it was the week after the season finished not the last weekend. Oh well it would have cost double next weekend because it is half term so that makes up for it.}

Re: I work in the sports media and i can say however much Liverpool offer for Hazard he WILL REJECT the move he will only move to a champions league club so Arsenal is his likely destination. [. .]Raj

Raj - if yu do work in sports media I can only assume your sport is synchronized swimming or netball or something as it clearly isn't football. Firstly Arenal do need to buy this summer but not a wide man like Hazard - Arsenal's main needs are a keeper, a centre back and a centre forward. Wenger will never shell out the sort of money to bring in top talent in these three positions and still buy Hazard. Secondly a player such as Hazard will not be looking at a one season deal - they will look at where a club is going and will realise that beyond 2011/ 12 Liverpool have as much chance of Champions League football as Arsenal do.

Just a question to the Eds, as a person living outside of the UK, it's sometimes confusing as to which UK newspapers and other sources to trust, regarding LFC transfer rumours and accuaracy. I know the Scum and Koptalk, talksport and caughtoffside are all rubbish. . Daily Mail is also very dodgy. . Any suggestions from your side?

Keep up the good work gents {Ed001's Note - the only one I know of that has a decent strike rate of being correct is the Guardian.}

"the only clue being that one player being looked at has the same name of a former player of ours who now drives a black cab"

not sure what the black cab means, but we don't have an ex player called Eden!
the player would have to be Llorente - his full name is Fernando Llorente Torres, and our ex was Fernando Torres Sanz. close enough!

18 May 2011 12:17:59
Ed, it would be silly to spend £20m of KK s transfer budget on Fabio Coentrao or even £10m on Enrique. Robinson has already shown that he has a great future. He needs however another season of being gently eased into the first team. The best choice in my view would be to snap up Warnock for £3-4m (with the cost more than being covered by the sale of Insua, Konchesky and the release of Aurelio. This would give Robinson the time to he needs. Glen Johnson has shown that he can cover the left back position if needed. Reality Red

So because we paid £35m for Carroll that we'll spend money like that again for Aguero. . Dont forget all this happened on the last day of the Winter transfer window: We sold Torres for £50m, Suarez (£22.7m) was waiting for this deal to be completed to sign, then the very last moment Carroll came in for £35m. . Why didn't we sign Suarez before Torres left??? Suggests to me the owners were a bit reluctant to give money out. . There's been no guarantee from the owners so far that they will give any transfer funds, yes Kenny says he wishes to do some business and that it will be an important summer but who's to say we're gonna be given a transfer kitty??? And this marquee signing that everyone has stuck in their head, whoever said anything about that? People need to wake up, its not gonna be an easy summer for the club, finding buyers for the useless players we need to get rid of and then players Liverpool have enquired about are not really willing to come at the moment, without Champions/ Europa League football its gonna be even harder to get players in this summer. . I'm sorry if people disagree but that's the harsh reality

Probably a stupid question, but how do owners of clubs actually make money out thier investment?

{Ed002's Note - Typically the only return on investment comes when teh sell the business. If the value can be improved and the owner does not wish to sell, the business may be used as collateral for loans.}

I think we might be jumping the gun a bit when we talk about glory next season. Like the King says we've got to take it one game at a time. Frankly I don't think any of us want to be humbled by the toothless mancs if we don't win the title, so let's just relax a bit yeah.

Hey Ed's,
Im heading up for the Europa League final tonight.Gonna do a bit of up close scouting for the King(I wish) but really looking forward to seeing Falcao in full flow.I believe the player has serious potential.Are we still interested?Ed 001 you believe Adam is Spuds bound? Is James McCarthy liverpool bound.I now can only see 1 CM coming in. I said before xmas that my boss is friendly with a guy who has a box an Man City and we were interested in Adam Johnson for Jan and had enquired again.He told me that we have been told forget about it.He is giving it 1 more year.Milner is available he said though.
Ed002 has said that Micah Richards is off I believe to a foreign team can you shed anymore on that ed? I would be sceptical of us signing him but still believe he has more to offer than Gary "hoof the ball" Cahill, and with King Kenny would develop Richards into a versatille defender.Any hope we could sign him?
Sorry been on for a bit ed's but Im up to my noses in work to make time for flying over to games you know.Baines is a no go id say the bitters are refusing to talk is this correct? I hope they pull someone out of the hat here as I don't rate enrique.

Cheers
Fowler is God {Ed002's Note - I don't recall saying Micah Richards is leaving for a foreign club, but I do recall saying that I don't know of any interest from Liverpool. Do you think Liverpool need another right back?}

Hi,

I work in the sports media and i can say however much Liverpool offer for Hazard he WILL REJECT the move he will only move to a champions league club so Arsenal is his likely destination. Mata will be priced out of a move the new owners will not meet the valuation which is extremly high around the 25-30 million mark. Cahill will not move to Liverpool as Arsenal is his first choice, Ashley Young will move to man u again for european football, i can see liverpool buying average players again like Brunt and Jarvis and Downing although a massive club we cannot attract the top players as we are not involved in champ league. Also expect Enrique, Maveraux , Phil Jones

Raj {Ed002's Note - I am guessing you are an Arsenal fan Raj.}

So Raj, you think Pepe Reina is staying because he's excited by the prospect of Brunt, Jarvis, Downing etc joining the club? I think he'd be out of the door now if he was told that they were the transfers we'd be making.

Hi ed, just a quick question regarding Taarabt, i have read on here that Tottenham would get a large percentage of any future transfer from QPR, What would Tottenham receive if a player swap was arranged? e.g Taarabt for Aquilani? {Ed002's Note - If there is a sell on cluase they would still get the same amount as they would do if it had been a straightforward transfer. They would need to agree the value or an independent tribunal would do so on the clubs behalf.}

If Parker arrives i won't necessarily be overjoyed, but then i thought the same about old man McAllister before he arrived. If he helps steady the ship in a transitional phase and doesn't hang around long enough to hinder the chances of the youngsters coming through then it might just be a sound stop-gap.

Surely the perennial failings of Arsenal to sustain a challenge for any major honours must work in other clubs' favour when trying to sign players who are also coveted by the Gooners? I see in the papers today that we are ready to battle Arsenal for Edin Hazard's signature. Surely the guy must look at Arsenal (who look like they've stalled, again) and Liverpool (who are on an upward stroke) and think we are the better option for his future?

Where does these people get the idea that Liverpool are gonna spend a massive amount on 1 player? please. We are finally being run-well again, and KK & DC know that there are players out there in europe available for knock down prices who are still young. If we do sign someone for a fair amout of money I can see it being Mata of Valencia.

Players we should/ could be looking @ IMO-
Mata, Banega, Canales, Vargas, VanDerWiel, Perotti, Capel, Bojan, Coutinho, Boateng (brothers).

Add some these to the likes of Young & Cahill, we're left with a very competitive team.

Reina
Vargas Cahill Carragher VDWiel
Banega Gerrard
Mata Suarez Young
Carroll

m8 the boateng bros h8 each other now because of what kevin prince had done to ballack which ruled him out of south africa

To all those so called top players in Europe and the premier league, you may opt not to sign for Liverpool due to our not being in the champions league, but let me tell you this, Liverpool football club are on the rise, nothing or no one is going to stop the Red machine when she go's at full pelt next season under the country's best Manager in Kenny Dalglish. We will have Champions league football in 2012-2013, so if it's big bucks and CL footie you seek so be it, but mark my words you'll be crying in your pay packets come May 2012.

Did any of you boys see the FA Youth cup first leg last night. 30,000 turned out just to see our youth team play Sheffield United that is their biggest crowd for 18 months. Seems like whatever age you are you pull on the most famous shirt in English Football and people will come and watch you. scott dann and matt jarvis are being targeted by kenny and could well be the first signings through the door. Teddy

why don't peope believe that we are willing to spend £40 million on aguero when we spent £35 million on Carroll? Sure his wages will be higher but he will bring in massive revenue in his own right so surely he would be a good investment on an off the pitch??

18 May 2011 10:26:35
Ed's why don't you give yourselves a break from the answering all these questions. This site used to be for people to post rumours nows its a Q&A.

i would like it to go back to being a rumour site. {Ed002's Note - So your suggestion is we just delete all of the questions? Like this one?}

18 May 2011 10:23:22
Where does these people get the idea that Liverpool are gonna spend a massive amount on 1 player?

Carroll

(Its not football manager, you can't add 6 new players into your starting 11 and expect them all to gel)

18 May 2011 10:16:12
belivable-lfc to get young
unbleivable - lfc to get hazrd

18 May 2011 10:12:29
{Ed002's Note - I guess then it begs the question of Mata or Hazard? Who would you prefer as the surprise signing?}

Both Please !

18 May 2011 10:10:56
{Ed002's Note - I think it is perfectly likely, as I have said, that there will be one surprise signing. I have suggested that could be Mata when pressed for an opinion. If it turns out to be Hazard then so be it, I will be wrong. It is absolutely impossible to get everything right and I appreciate that there are people like you hiding behind the anonymity of the internet who take every chance have a dig at the Editors. We make a great deal of effort to keep these pages running for you and to provide regular updates of the posts. You quite frankly don t deserve these efforts. In my opinion it is absolutely pathetic for you not to provide your e-mails or to even sign your posts. Please do ever ask for an opinion on this site.}

Sorry ed if i offended you. I just did not write my e-mail since it mentioned its not required as mentioned. Iam a die hard fan of Liverpool from india and iam so annoyed that we can not get quality players for the reason we are not in CL. Didn't Mancity got many players past 2 years. Ok they were attracted to money but we have a brand name and history and most important of all we are on the rise. We beat 2 of the top 5 teams. So i think there is a very good chance of us signing some of them if not all. I know u were hurted by my harsh remarks. It is the same to me when we cannot get atleast some good players since we got suarez in january. Iam not dreaming about aguero, hulk, sancez etc. But we have a good shout for hazard, mata, marin, young. Once again sorry for my remarks. But i was hurted by some negativity among some people. Anyway great site and great work by u all.

Abhi [LFC INDIA]YNWA

{Ed002's Note - Thanks for standing up and writing back in Abhi. One of the major differences is that Manchester City could attract players with levels of financial reward that other clubs simply cannot do. They are very much an exception to any of the rules as they do not have the natural draw of Real Madrid, Barcelona etc.. However, they then hit the barriers when you run out of space in the squad and players are PO that they cannot get a game - Adebayor is the perfect example. So a year at the club, a year on loan and now on the market. Liverpool to be successful will need to get stability at the club. Off field they have done this and over the summer we should see the playing staff being trimmed and improved.}

18 May 2011 10:08:28
Just out of general curiosity, when ronaldo went to madrid much was made of the fee which madrid claim will be paid for by his shirt sales. Could the same not be said of any player who would sell a lot of shirts? Hence the tranfer fee would be a little less relevant for players with a high marketing value yes?

Mr.E {Ed002's Note - No. It is a rather long and complex story about how Real Madrid justify the borrowing of money from banks. You would be surprised if you saw how little revenue for merchandising makes its way in to the club coffers.}

Raj {Ed002's Note - I am guessing you are an Arsenal fan Raj.}

Muppet. . .Suarez an average player then? yeah some players do want Champs league. .but we can offer first team Football. .to a decent winger. Know one knows who we will sign but I trust the king will buy quality not spend stupid money on some idiot ego. The mighty reds will rule again.

Hey Ed, after viewing the earlier post from the guy talking about the fields of anfield road post I went and checked it out. They do seem convinced that we will get Parker, Young, and someone else. I am not convinced we need Parker, but his experience will definitely help the CM. While our midfielders are good I felt in the absence of both Stevie and Meireles we were lacking a bit of leadership/ experience against Spurs. {Ed002's Note - Doesn't seem like a long-term solution does it.}

Anyone can make a facebook page and write what they like on there wall as fact, now i am not saying they are wrong, but i have a LFC facebook page too and i could post anything off as fact, then other LFC pages get to see it and quite often they will pass it off as fact too.

18 May 2011 10:01:28
Reina would not be staying at the club if he didn't have assurances that we were not moving for avarage players. Kennys way has always been the liverpool way, keeping things behind closed doors. The players will have a idea who will sign, They must be good signings, or pepe would be gone. Good times ahead. great site eds, Keep up the good work.

18 May 2011 09:42:11
Ed realistically, out of the players we are linked with who would you like to see in a red shirt next season? Pops {Ed002's Note - I am not really the Ed to ask about preferences and nobody else will likely be about for a while. I can tell you that I think a centre back is needed and would suggest Sakho. Width is needed and players like Perotti and Payet should be looked at. A left back is needed, an additional midfield player and possibly another striker. Talk is of Enrique and Adam and I get slated when I say Adam is not good enough, but I really don't think he is.}

18 May 2011 09:04:40
Ed2 clearly as a Chelsea fan can not see anyone of any value or ability joining Liverpool this summer, so we're alsolutely doomed & Chelsea are joining to sail off into the sunset. Obviously you knew about the Meireles deal last summer. {Ed002's Note - Another anonymous keyboard warrior - it's so pathetic. Skipping school today?}

18 May 2011 08:54:09
Anyone who thinks Joey Barton or Charlie Adam are the players to take this club forward need their heads looked at. Adam is good but for a lesser team. I would much prefer to see Marko Marin signed and Javi Martinez or Ever Banega plus a left back until Flanagan/ Robinson are a bit older.

I think all this talk of liverpool carnt afford wagers to attract top stars will prove to be bull in summer. Someone or should I say some big players are anfield bound SOON, its not that owners carnt afford wage bill its that they DONT like they return for such high volumes of money going out, there seems to to be a buzz around the players and staff, of DC plans, they know something BIG is about to happen to this great club of ours, come the villa gave you will see every player probably giving there best game in red shirt, to prove one last time if any doubts about ability is wrong and they deserve the right to wear the shirt next season, I wouldn't say others clubs going to be envious of us with the amount we going to spend, as the likes city chelsky manchester united spend vast amounts, but will be envious of the club as we have the better wiser owners who will get what they want the right way rather than going out like city and trying to buy any star there is available 4 big bucks. Ive butterfly's whenever I think of next season. Ppl talk of rebuilding proses under Kenny, if Kenny had taken over from start on average points gained since we would be title contenters, with a few tweaks Kenny WILL BE FIGHTING FOR TITLE THIS SEASON.

I would just like to say great work Eds, i can, t belive how some of you hold your tongues with some of the idiots on here with that same rubbish all the time.

The site is well maintained, and i think that the opinions you give are factual rather then stupid off the cuff we have billions to spend. I am a realistic fan and i know that we don't have the types of money man city, man utd and Chealsea can throw at players. I just hope that we can start to remount a bit of pride and make the premiership a better lge to watch.

baz {Ed001's Note - fingers crossed we get top four next season and then we can push on for title challenge.}

18 May 2011 02:19:03
would just like to know if anybody knows how much we have to spend this summer? I'm hearing in the region of 105-120million!? Also I'd like to know are we gonna sign any big centre halfs, we need a big man back there to stop conceeding stupid goals or letting idiots like berbatov score hat-tricks! I think Diego Lugano would be ideal and Suarez could encourage him? would like to know if anybody has heard anything other than Gary Cahill, who is NOT worth 20million! Sound lads.

18 May 2011 02:01:56
i'd like to find out whether every single reds supporter thinks barton would be a terrible signing, his behaviour has always been pretty wild, but i haven't heard too much from the press about him since he pinged that fella outside mcdonalds, but just to add to this question, everyone would remember craig bellamy's little episodes over the years he was at liverpool, now surely joey barton bein' a bit of a peanut isn't as bad as hittin' riise in the face with a 5 iron.

Ed is it true that lfc will be mortgaged to build a new stadium {Ed002's Note - I really don't know. If a new stadium is built the money will have to be borrowed from somewhere - like Arsenal. But I am not aware of immediate plans.}

18 May 2011 01:11:03
hi ed have you heard anything on the stadium +do you think we will stay at anfield or move to a new stadium in stanley park {Ed002's Note - There will be nothing new on the stadum until plans are submitted for approval and then everything will be in the public domain. I am guessing they will work Anfield.}

There is so much stuff about who we are going to buy and how much money will be available, but the crux of what sort of club we are going to be is surely based on what stadium we are going to have and its associated potential for income.
Man Utd have a 75,000 attendance
Arsenal have a 60,000 attendance
Man City and Chelsea behave as though attendance is irrelevant.
Liverpoo's key weakness is the size (spend) of their crowd. This won't be resolved buy 'marquee' signings but by increasing the potential attendance figure.
All talk of buying player 'a' or 'b' is peripheral to the key point of when are we going to have a stadium that meets demand and produces corresponding profits.

My source within LFC (Close to First Team see them every game and training!) has informed me that the most likely targets and the ones we will see will be as follows:

- Ashley Young (Aston Villa) £22.5m
(overpriced with a year left on his contract. half that at most)
- Blaise Matuidi (St Etienne) £8.5m
(happy with that. good squad addition)
- Michael Owen (Man Utd) £0m
(mahoosively overpriced at £0m. should never be allowed to enter Anfield again. except to warm the opposition bench, or clean the sh****rs)
- Marko Marin (Werder Bremen) £16m
(again happy with this)
- Jose Enrique (Newcastle) £9m
(seems to be the best of the type of player we need without getting our pants pulled down re price)
- Gary Cahill (Bolton) £17.5m
(not good enough, we have carra/ agger/ skrtel to rotate. would rather see ayala and wilson given more opportunities)

RE:Someones laughing all the way to the bank harry.

Blackpool manager Ian Holloway leaves himself open to cynical accusations over Charlie Adam's fee.The Premier League confirmed that it was comfortable with managers receiving a slice of the transfer fee for players sold by their clubs to other clubs.

So Holloway is going to be driving a Ferrari come the summer.

Real madridd are preparing to raid Liverpool in the summer. It hurts me to say it but it looks like degan, el zhar, poulson, koncesky and brad jones could be leaving. This will leave our squad very weak but luckily real will offer higuian, di Maria, ronaldo, kaka and Ramos as a make weight. My source (hp honey bbq) tells me expect Liverpool to accept reals offer later in the window as they will need plenty of time to consider reals offer, as they are very reluctant to let our star players go. Also Liverpool need time to find feesable replacements as the players comming from
Real to Liverpool are mear bench warmers/ squad fillers.

The situation

Its actually shoking that after Charlie ADAM has had such a good season and very nearly signed for Liverpool that so many of the posters on here still can't spell his name. It's Adam there is no s on the end, he is not the brother of Sinn Fein president Gerry Adams, its hardly the hardest name in the world to spell there are only 4 letters in it, any way to summer signings, no one knows who the King will bring in so why doesn't everyone stop with the Fottie Manager wishlists and repeating the same names over and over and have faith, who ever we get will be the right player, Kenny and Comolli have been excellent in the market wherever they have been and I'm sure who ever they bring in, wether it be a marquee signing or an up and coming star, will be perfect for the club.

Not a rumour as such but more an opinion. With city being linked with players such as Sanchez, Sneider etc etc I think Adam Johnson may struggle to get a regular place and with him expressing doubts earlier in the season about remaining at city, may be worth a go.

I not only think he is one of the best English wingers but also internationally. I think he would fit in very well adding the much needed width to our play. The only issue I see is city's reluctance to sell to a rival.

Players I have been informed about are Marveaux who seems to be a given. Aly and Moussa Cissokho are 2 players heavily linked with Liverpool. A further winger (at the moment Matt Jarvis seems most likely). Contrary to what people have said, there are no done, nailed on etc etc deals. Many of the players linked are generated by their agents or the press.

Just wondering. .

has the liverpool team played above or below expectations. I said they would finish 6th at the start of the season.

Will i be wrong? Will they take 5th?

What did you guys predict at the start of the season. I didn't expect much from them. Mid-table.
