I just read some of Suarez's interview with El Pais and he says Dalglish speaks in Spanish to him about is family and other players and stuff. Is is just me or is the thought of KK speaking Spanish hilarious...just shows how good a man-manager he is.

GuvTOB {Ed001's Note - probably easier to understand him in Spanish!}

Kenny speaks spainis**to?

18 Mar 2012 22:55:43
Why oh why didnt we go for javi martinez or sissoko instead of adam in the summer, 100 times better players and i dont see any reason why they wouldnt be realistic either. Big mistake.
Frank

1. We don't need a CB as we have the best pair in the league - Martinez
2. We don't need to spend massive money on a CDM as we have Lucas to return and back up in Spearing - Martinez
3. Sissoko will be a good buy for around 8 million if we can get him

If we finish top 4, which I think we can, do you think we can get these players:

Just yes or no please:

1) Edison Cavani
2) Mesut Ozil
3) Ezeqiual Lavezzi
4) Marek Hamsik
5) David Villa

Not saying all of them : Not saying we have all the money : just a thought of a few players which can get us goals and improve our squad!

Thanks .

To be polite lad, not a hope in hell

Mr Controversy

No, Thank you ... but you are mad.

Top four in the bag. And yes, we will get all these guys. Including the guy with a broken leg.

C

I'd love Ozil but I think Hamsik is terrible.

None of them realistic though mate.

BthekingB

I think are first signign should be the head scout at Newcastle fair play for signing Demba Ba and Papaye Cisse

Red said Fred

Not a chance, but nice to dream though. We will attract players that are befitting of our current standing in Europe.

1) no
2) no
3) yes
4) yes
5) hell no

Does anyone know the anything about the pricing for fa cup final tickets? I know they went up for last years final but have they stayed the same or what?

Ashy

Wouldnt buy the Final tickets yet!!
I'd be gutted if I was sat there watching Sunderland v Chelsea

Lyndon

Wasn't planning on buying them yet, just want to know I have the cash put aside for when we go through.

Ashy

Love your optimism, Ashy mate lol

If we wasn't optimistic football wouldn't be the same would it? ;)

"We won't play on the 15th. The FA and UEFA have always been exemplary and very supportive, and that's great credit to them, so I don't think it's even worth a line in a paper that we might play on the 15th because we won't." - KK on the Budweiser FA Cup Semi

18 Mar 2012 21:27:04
Well that was the game I fully expected... Carroll was never going to score today but we didn't half need his physical presence. Downing scoring a nice goal. Suarez a nicer one. But I would like to say how impressed I was with Skrtel and Spearing, Skrtel was immense and Spearing ran the midfield. Great win lads now lets go tonk QPR. YNWA -McMenemy

Agree with you on Skrtel & Spearing...

Skrtel has to be the player of the season, I don't think he missed anything today.
I thought Spearing proved that he is more than capable of looking after the DM role whilst Lucas is injured.

Just need more goals!

dmedly

I disagree that we needed Carroll's physical presence, I think if Kuyt or Bellamy had started we could have concentrated on playing some nice passing football, we never got going with our passing

18 Mar 2012 21:22:45
Likely not get posted since anything anti pool seems to miss the cut but I hope u do reach the final since watchin u lose in the final would be so much better than watchin u losin earlier

What a tasser. did,nt even have the bottle to leave a name.

Is that the best you can do? Seriously?

Well thanks for showing us your bitternes anyway, it shows us we must be doing something right to wind up oposing fans

GREAT win boys!!! A proud red here. We played well, but 'scruffy' if thats the word. Sometimes this season we havent played 'scruffy' or dirty to get the points. Doesnt matter, great won and we are going to WEM BER LEE. Had to say this, 2 games without Charlie Adam.....2 wins. Lol. Jks charlie, love you mate. Special mention to skrtel, played awesome
and has been playing well all season. Also, jay spearing. Had a good game and threw himself for headers against crouch, was never gunna win them but its great he showed some determination.

18 Mar 2012 20:55:06
Just to say I hope we get Chelsea in the final - they are scared of us. And it would be nice to see various ex-Liverpool players with bad haircuts sulking up the steps to collect their losers' medals.
-SH-

Its destiny to beat chelski in final as we put brigton stoke and on final day chelski out of both cups

I went to the derby on tues and i watched the game at home today and i think that Andy Carrolls touch as improved unbelievably since the first part of the season. He is not wasting as much ball. He is also doing a lot of good things outside the box compared to the start of the season.

I believe goals will come within time as i believe that Liverpool are trying to change him as a player and its starting to look good for him. I mean he as only just had just over a year at premiership level. But he looks a completely different player now and if he keeps on learning i believe we will have some player in years to come. Next season i believe he will score for fun. But keep up the good work big andy.

Mighty reds

Did you watch the game today? He was his normal poor self

His touch has improved a lot. But what's with all these fancy flicks and drag backs near the half way line ?
Get in the f'in box big man, that's what you're there for !
We need AC to be scoring 15-20 goals a season and I can't see where they're gonna come from at the minute.
On the plus side, really good to see Martin Kelly getting himself in there. He's starting to look like he can pinch a goal or two now.
And Skrtel is playing brilliantly.
The Real KB

^ what did he do wrong? Shut up mate.

AC is only doing what the coaching staff are asking him to do....if he was not, he would be dragged off pronto! Hence KK must be asking him to do what he is doing and be happy with him?
Iggypop

18 Mar 2012 20:32:51
'I would like to stay. Despite everything that happened, I'm happy here, on and off the pitch... and at the club they're happy with me and want me to stay,' Suarez said in an interview with the Montevideo daily El Pais.

does this now rule out the move to psg or any other club in that matter?

Not nessicerally, the club may want to cash in...

dmedly

18 Mar 2012 20:32:44
Mods, I dont think the club need many signings, just first team quality. I'd say around 5 players short. What do you think. I hope we go for quality technical players. A striker, a left wide, RW, CM, CB.

In ideal world Luuk de jong, Ozil, Hoilett, J.Martinez, J Vertonghen.

Do you think we can attract this type of player? {Ed002's Note - That "type" of player, sure.}

Why include holiett with a group of talented Europeans?

Have you personally seen and vetted these players?. did,nt think so. Have you missed your calling in life? must have. so much talent on these various sites that have been missed, its a shame but life is like that. ah well , keep on dreaming that you are the best manager/coach/talent spotter in the world and next time at the job centre insist that you have missed your vocation in life and you now want to be englands/ liverpools/ everyones next manager

Not a rumour just a question

Would Kenny and Liverpool fc refuse to play and withdraw from the FA Cup should the FA attempt to force them to play on the 15th April? {Ed002's Note - No I would not have thought so.}

Liverpool fc will not kick a ball on the 15th april

gee man

The powers that be would not ask us to play on that date surely. Such a sensitive subject as it rightly is, this would not happen.
We should play the 14 which will
Hopefully unite the lfc family some more.
The game goes on but the 96 will never be forgotten.
Andy the red

We should definitely play on the 14th. In Autralia that will be the early hours on the 15th of April. Which is my Birthday.
Every year I stop to remember the 96 and the sinking of the Titanic. Would be so much better to remember them with a third trip to Wembley booked.

RedOz

If Liverpool kick a soccer ball on the 14th, I will no long support the Kenny regime. {Ed001's Note - why the 14th?}

18 Mar 2012 19:49:10
I feel sorry for Big Andy, he's not getting enough service and even when the crosses do come in they're very poor. If only Jose had the crossing ability of Aurelio & Kells had of Finnan, then Carroll would be banging them in.

However, I shouldn't really be criticising the team that has got us to Wembley AGAIN! Get innn.

Tell me Maa, me Maa...

Stone YNWA

I think he made the best cross of the game.

Red raj

He is a donkey lol

@Red raj

Haha yeah he did aswell. If only he could be in 2 places at once... could another £35m make that happen? ...

Stone YNWA.

I don't know what this mystical "good service" is. Natural strikers go where the ball is likely to be, and pounce on any chance or half-chance. Case in point- Cisse for Newcastle today.

Carroll simply does not have the mobility or instincts to do that.

The fact Cisse can speed it past defenders helps Oh and the nice early cross by Guttierez so case in point they are two different players completely getting different service from a different team member in a different team in a different game on a different day in a different location wow all these differences get a grip ya spud at the end of the day he has helped us against Stoke just because he hasnt scored doesnt mean its the end of the world go pull one off over Torres finally scoring you probably call him the best striker in the prem now.

I cant believe somebody is having a dig at suarez. Huth stamped on him today and should of been sent off lets hope the fa take the appropiate action against Huth.

Ok suarez is a bit naughty sometimes but thats what i love him for and is one of my heros.

I also thought that carragher was superb today and is starting to shut a few people up whinging.

Mighty reds

Shawcross and Huth would of been given the Mission of diggin and fouling Suarez all week in training By Pulis "ya Dad in a Tracksuit" it's all they do week in week out.
Except when they Play Manutd and it's Kiss Sir Alex's Apse and don't upset him!!
At least Wimbledon played a bit of Football when they did it

Lyndon

To be fair to Stoke they can play a bit of football too... I hate playing against them, but I respect them a lot. Their fans are great aswell.

Stone YNWA.

It's not so much the Style of play for me and I take your point.
It's just the endless sky fouls then talking to the ref about the player diving when he didn't. But to be fair I didn't see them play much football today.
My next door Neighbour is a season ticket holding and they must be Great fans to travel and watch that week in week out. Hats off to them.

After every game when the players/managers get interviewed it the same PC response " you know it going to be physical and a hard game when you play em"
Put you can tell what they really want to say. I'd rather play like Wigan and go down!

Lyndon "rant over sorry"

As for their 'great fans'- all I heard from them today was torrents of abuse at Suarez and Carroll. Must not have any songs about their own players. This is the kind of abuse that unfortunately we see in the eepl all the time now. Another poster saluted the Bilbao fans the other day- they were great fans...not these bullies and Neanderthals more interested in abusing opponents than supporting their teams.

Stoke player r bullies, coached by a world class rugby manager. S**t team to watch.
Indian Buzzer

They didn't get away with it in Europe for long. The Refs were having none of it their was a freekick every other minute!

Lyndon

Stone YNWA, Do you respect them because you actually come from Stone?

Get well soon Muamba!

All our thoughts are with him and his family. So sad, hope he pulls through.

YNWA Fabrice!

P.S. What kind of sick person would have pressed the disagree button on this post?!!

Who would disagree with this??

Who ever hit disagree to that statement should hold there head in shame..

When you cycle down the mobile site you can accidentally clip the "disagree" button. I don't think anyone would really disagree to what is a horrendous illness.

Never heard such nonsense in my life with some of this Jay bashing on here, some people just cant give the lad credit, he was immense today, working, tackling, trying to push on when he could, hes improving all the time this lad, lets get behind the boy for a change he deserves it, every squad needs lads like Spearing to put a shift in now and then you cant just have 26 superstars in your squad you need grafters and good loyal club men too, Hes easily one of the most improved for me.....Bring on Wembley!
YNWA JFT96
The Guv 81-9

Spearing was man of the match he was awesome today.

My evaluation of Spearing has shot up over the past couple of games. His passing was neat and forward-looking today, cool as a cucumber and he didn't look like a red card waiting to happening. Definitely MOTM. And the longer he keeps Adam in his best position, on the bench, the more I will like him. -SH-

These last two seasons jay has been one of the most improved players in our squad. I am sure he will be even better when Lucas is fit as they were both great at the end of last season.

mighty reds

Spearing was alright in possession today, passed it sideways a lot but kept the ball well. He had a poor game defensively though, he should have prevented Walters from having that 1-on-1 in the first half and he had a number of poor touches. I see his skills as closing down opposition midfielders quickly and keeping possession, so given that Stoke might as well have not had a midfield today due to the number of long balls they played, and the need for good passing to break them down, I felt he was a little wasted

Red Ollie

18 Mar 2012 19:31:00
A post containing facts,
Carroll is sh1te, his 2 defensive headers were his only decent contribution today.
Downing is sh1te, until his goal all he did was give the ball away.
Spearing and Skertel were immense, big defensive jobs required to see us through today.
The result was fantastic and whether we win the semi or not the draw was good too as avoiding Spurs and Chelsea is a good thing.
We were poor today, pleased to see Maxi continue his FA Cup performances, intelligent player who weighted his 1-2 return to Suarez perfectly when others passing today left a lit to be desired.
Good to see KK has finally realised what a liability Adam is. It would be great to win the FA Cup, even make the final with this squad. KK has a big summer on his hands however as the league table does not lie.
3 wins in 2012 tells it's own story, fortunately for KK they were 3 high profile wins. He must sign better quality in the summer and ship out Carroll and Adam, papering over cracks at present.
ALB.

Please don't take that job as a councillor for Samaritans will you!!

The Suicide rate would shoot up!

Lyndon

So you're only dealing in 'facts' then? Here's a fact, Tottenham haven't gone through yet.

I've been supporting Liverpool for over 20 years,& I have never felt an unease about any of our players actions.Sure, there's been odd occasions that have made me cringe, like the Diouf spitting at Celtic. But I feel compelled to point out that Luis Suarez does not act in the way I expect a Liverpool player to act. With professionalism,& dignity.
I know he is the 'darling' of the kop at the moment, but I feel embarassed by some of his actions on the pitch.I guess your all going to jump to his defence, but if you imagine if he played for Man Utd,& acted like he does during matches. He'd be public enemy no. 1 in Liverpool.
He is without doubt a great player, but in spite of this,I personally would not be too sorry to see him leave at the end of the season.

Mick D

He claiim's handball or foul every time he's dispossessed, it's embarrassing. yes he is a top talent but he's a bit af a disgrace IMO

Gav

He does exaggerate far too much and needs to stop it if he's ever going to re-build his reputation. But if he's delivering top class performances week in, week out, then I can live with it.

Stone YNWA.

Just enjoy suarez for what he is a world class talent. If he signs a new contact then happy days all round.

Cheers mighty reds

If he does stay over the summer, i think that the team and coaches will tease this out of him as he really gets used to the PL.

Suffolk'n Red

I think I've got to agree with you Mick.
Suarez is already a fantastic player, but he would be an ever better player if he gave up the theatrics. We are LFC, we are better than this. I don't condone diving for or against us and have to agree it is embarrassing and you're dead right about if it was united vice versa.
good post mate
Mr controversy

He is a character that feeds off the crowd and when they react it makes him react. He's always followed his heart by the stories of younger life and as he gets older he will mature. He gives 100% in the shirt and that will always make me biased and supportive of him.

I am absolutely behind Luis Suarez. He is precisely what we need. Not only is he a world class talent, he also has the strength of character and the determination to succeed that enable him to overcome adversity. Has there ever been a match in which Luis has shirked the challenge ahead of him? Can you ever imagine Luis Suarez hiding? No. The combination of extraordinary talent and a will to win is incredibly rare. Liverpool must do everything they can to keep Luis at the club.

Red Owl.

Suarez is a world class player. If the referees started protecting him more then he would not have to over exaggerate. We would hate Suarez regardless if he played for Man Utd. As long as he doesn't get himself banned for a long period of time again, then I don't care.
P.S.
I hope Muamba recovers and gets back to his best.

skrtel, no 1 cb right now. so consistent, strong in the air, scores goals with his foot and his head, knows when to clear, and when to bring the ball out, not bad on the ball for a defender. hell, he is the perfect defender.

Kaizer

Another one who endured endless stick not too long ago!!
Great when someone shows the Critics.

Lyndon

Have to agree Skrtel has been rock soild under Kenny
Invernesian

Kenny and the Staff seem to of taken the Dirty/Rash out of his game.
He also seems to use the ball better and brings it out of defence with the ball at his feet instead of goofing it.

Well done Kenny

Eds, sorry but just realised the significance of the weekend we play the semi final (hillsborough memorial). I take it that we will play the 14 then, still can't help but feel strange knowing we will be playing a semi final on such a significant weekend.

Well played Stuart Downing, great goal today!
Also, when I was a kid and me parents were skint,
me mam used to cut me hair to save money paying
the barbers - She wasn't a great one with the scissors,
but every time I used to end up with a hair style like Stu Downings! Who'd a thought, that cut would actually become fashionable.

Lol, when I was about 6/7 my family were in the same boat! Always skint, so I also got the same treatment. In fact, my haircuts were that great I got my nickname from them! Square Bap! 36 years later & as many people know me by that than my real name.

What a brilliant result and a great week. I thought we played well today and it was a professional performance against one of the toughest teams in England.

Both were cracking goals today and lets kick on in the league know and get as many points as we can. I would say that Skrtel was MOM.

I bet those doom mongers and fickles are feeling shall we call it a little silly now.

Tell me ma,me ma to put the champagne on ice, were going to wembley twice.

Looking at our prospects of next year, the Europa league could be a good way of integrating some of the younger players into the team... The likes of coady, wisdom, Robinson, silva, suso

The southern red

What about Raheem Sterling

Sterling....

Adorjan? {Ed001's Note - I like Adorjan, when he plays well the rest of the team does too.}

I merely left him out because I am still unsure on whether he has matured enough physically to play first team. You forget how young he really is... But I'm sure if he is ready then Kenny will be the first to play him.

The southern red

Adorjan reminds me so much of Jari Litmanen.

Jatt YNWA

Spot on Ed1 when he has a off game side doesn't look as good.
With regards to Stering in a lot of reserve games he looks a long way off first team football

Lyndon

We always say the youngsters should be given a chance and they never are, no matter what the competition :(

18 Mar 2012 17:18:33
Notes on game:

1. I am not a huge Adam fan, but I think he would be ideally suited for today's game. Did we need Spearing? He is feisty but really cannot pass forward.

2. We simply cannot seem to play to Carroll's strengths. At times it looks like he is simply on the field to distract the defense so that our 'good players' can try and score. Is he not a striker?

3. Nice to see Downing score. Big goal too .

I think Suarez has another goal in his boots.

Coop

Are u sure? i thought spearing is doing very well now.

Kaizer

Spearing has been just fine as for Adam, no thanks.
Can't play to Carrolls strengths? The only thing I see is he wants to stand still in the box (usually behind a defender) and waits for the perfect delivery, it doesn't work like that I'm afraid

Are you Shmad...I'm quite happy for Adam to sit on the bench all season spearing isn't great but at least he'll put himself about unlike Adam who doesn't do anything but give away fouls.

GuvTOB

Spearing had a great game, kept posession well, switched the ball to the flanks and gave it to more creative players when pushing through the middle.

Welcome to Liverpool FC Stewart Downing :-)

Matt S - YNWA

Lmao - priceless post.

Let's hope he carries some confidence and goals into the remaining league games.

Thought Downing grew in confidence once he scored , think that once we get agger back and we start to play better , and win , downing will improve .

Crowd at Anfield so flat...Very disappointed.

Not backing Suarez up when the Stoke fans were booing and chanting sh*t....Unbelievable.

Lee YNWA

Suarez doesent need his nappy changeing everytime. He could handle himself.

When Gerrard had the chant about his voice start - the Liverpool fans immediately reacted(rightly so) ... So I was expecting the same passion for Luis.

Put yourself in Luis' position, when he got substituted - more boos than cheers...

As for the performance?

I think Spearing is playing like a proud Red, but Skrtel is just immense right?  Can't quite believe how much the lad has improved!  Everyone had their moments today, albeit a bitsy performance all round.

Suarez - just love the guy, so so Dangerous!  #worldclass

We have our fair share of good and bad decisions but the Stoke goal was a bad one. Should never have been a corner and Pepe was impeded. It's about time they introduced a Best Ref award at the end of the season for consistently good refereeing - might give them some incentive to make better decisions.

cozinoz

Yes because they make bad decisions on purpose lol grow up they do the best they can. You think if they were getting an award they would have seen who's head that came off? The goalkeeper was not impeded the guy stood still.

They do the best they can? Well thats ok then. Let's not criticise a referee because they are trying. Numpty.

cozinoz

Reina might've been impeded, but this the premier league, it's up to him to make the necessary space to get to that ball, throwing your hands in the air and appealing for a penalty is not the way to deal with it. Sorry it was bad goalkeeping

Yes agree , most teams would have put a tall player between Pepe and their player , to protect the keeper , so bad defending by us , but although stoke played with a lot of spirit , they seemed to run out of steam , and 2nd half , we were by far the better side , and back at wembley next month .

Lyndon

The lad tries his hardest...,

Ha ha, sods law for sure. Nice goal but we bought that clown for 16-20 million to provide quality service to the strikers and no goals and no assists in the pprem tellsits own story. I believe the club will give him another season although I personally would not. . I hope for his sake he can turn things round but I won't hold my breath. Not the type of player who will roll up his sleeves and get stuck in. Needs to grow a.pair in my opinion.

Im watching the match on ESPN Europe and its called the Budweiser FA Cup - how does that work? I didn't realise it is sponsored or is that just abroad?

cozinoz {Ed002's Note - Budweiser are the sponsors of the FA Cup - this is year one of three.}

Wow. I've been out of England too long. Thanks Ed002 didn't realise it is now sponsored - another fine English tradition thrown to the commercial dogs.

cozinoz {Ed002's Note - Eon Energy, Axa and Littlewoods have all sponsored it as I recall.}

I'm sure they have had previous sponsors but I can honestly say in the 35 years I have been watching football I have never heard of the Eon Energy FA Cup. This was advertised as the Budweiser FA Cup so I guess I'm astounded they have prefixed it with a sponsors name.

cozinoz {Ed002's Note - You probably need to pay more attention then. Even I recall these sponsors and I was living in the South of France for much of the time.}

How much cash money?

The F.A. Cup has always had a sponsor, just like every other competition.

It's depressing when Carroll is our best crosser of a ball

If he was a bit faster, he could put one in the box for himself.

What is with these sky commentators and their constant bagging of Liverpool against Stoke. Every 3rd word from their mouth is a cheap shot at the team. Not very professional....

Sky = Murdoch = News International = The Sun. Call it a conspiracy but you are never going to get pro-lfc commentary from that lot. Better off watching through another source.

Mr Paranoid!
It's on ITV.... The worlds against me.lol

Sorry, my mistake. Not sky. Still these donkeys are slating them at every chance.

Yes the itv commentators are slagging liverpool off because the sun hate Liverpool, I have never heard anything so deluded on my life.

Not everyone hates us you know.

The commentators were slagging Carroll because he was simply awful against Stoke. Any neutral observer can see that.

good team selection, maxi starting, hoping for good fast, sharp passing from suarez, maxi and gerrard, stoke a tough team to break down and get in behind their defence.

i think henderson has just about played every game this year so will be interesting to see how him not being there affects the team, and adam on the bench.

Yeah but Ed it never hurts to use Suarez as reason for good Uruguayan talent like Coates and if it happens to be a friend of Suarez's than it's all good -McMenemy

As much as it is against my nature to send to much 'love' your way fellas, watching Man Utd Vs Wolves which has started with a minute of applause for Muamba. Terrific sentiment, but I have a feeling the KOP may be able to do a little better. I have suggested the Chelsea fans do something similar to Tottenham but think it is probably more likely to happen at Anfield.

I know it is not your responsibility (for lack of a better word) to show such signs of support to a rival player but I think it would send a very strong message of how united the footballing world is at such times. Think it would take some stress off your PR Department aswell.

Melbourne CFC

Why the hell would it matter who does it the best? nothing will come close to last night, both fans singing his name inside and outside the ground! also to the spurs fan who rushed onto the pitch...well done, a heart surgeon that just may well have helped along with the first class medical staff to save the young players life!

I think you are reading into something that isnt there mate. I'm not going to bicker with you today.

18 Mar 2012 13:21:49
Hi eds,

I was wandering if they do many tests which involve your heart during medicals. And good luck to the lads today hope we get another trip to wembley.

Thanks

Red raj {Ed001's Note - some clubs do, interestingly the cardiologist who rushed onto the pitch yesterday to help Muamba, has been amongst a number trying to make heart screening compulsory for all professional players.}

They do in most teams. When my mate got called to the Irish u18 he had a medical and found he had a rare heart condition that could cause something like yesterday to happen anytime he had is heart rate raised. He has had to give up all sports now but if they check at youth Irish level I'd imagine they would at every top team

I believe we need a Centre back,Attacking midfielder and a Poacher then we're a complete team, I'd put G.Johnson as our new Right midfielder but if he leaves we will need to find a replacment.

Ed, do you rate Serdar Tasc. And who's watching him

Cheers

Dano

P.S Get well soon Fabrice Y.N.W.A {Ed001's Note - I have not watching him play, sorry I can't think of who I have heard linked with him, though I have heard clubs linked to him hence I know the name.}

VFB Stuttgart's Serdar Tasci is CB, and a pretty good one at that. I believe Arsenal were interested in him before they bought Vermaelen. He, funnily reminds me of a right -footed Vermaelen!

eds im just wondering but would champions league football be massively more beneficial financially than winning the double with europa league football ?
{Ed001's Note - depends on how far you get. If we didn't reach the group stages, no, it would not be worth all that much really.}

18 Mar 2012 12:31:07
Eds, how's the performance of Wilson at blackpool? {Ed001's Note - he was showing promise, but Ed003 tells me he is making a fair few mistakes and is not really pulling up trees. Last report he gave me was a 6.5 out of 10, so not all that good.}

So , what do u think we will do with him ed, I always hoped he would turn good and replace Agger in long term. But after watching Wisdom for reserves i think he could be a top player and could be a right footed Agger. But i think Wilson's contract will be up in 2013. So what are the plans regarding him for next season. Also what do u think of Shelvey, I personally would start him ahead of Adam provided an oppurtunity.

AJ {Ed001's Note - I think Wilson will leave, we have Coates, Wisdom and Sama, who have all been performing better. Nothing has been decided with regards to his future yet, that will happen in the summer, when the staff will sit down and assess his performances. Though a good offer would be accepted, I believe. I like Shelvey, I think he has a lot of potential, but he needs to play, I would play him ahead of Adam on current form.}

My Brother in law (Rangers season ticket holder) said we had got a gem of a player, but tbh from what I have seen of him, I don't see it! I remembering thinking at the time, we should have loaned him back to Rangers, but that's history now!

Keith

Sing and Pray for Fabrice Muamba tonight.

How can anyone disagree with that?! You are a sorry excuse for a human being!

18 Mar 2012 11:34:33
if johnson has a clause that he can only play right back which i dont think is true. why dont we play kelly right midfield then the two can alternate when game is going on. anyone think swansea are playing the way we were when kk first came in i.e keeping hold of ball and pass and move would love us to play like that next year .

alan waddle

We do play like that to an extent. i like the football kenny plays. we just need a top striker. i like kuyt becus he has given johnson lots of protection down the right side so not to expose his defensive weaknesses. if he were to go then we need a winger with a similar work rate to his

18 Mar 2012 10:56:50
The wage cutting remarks are true, unfortunately. However it does make sense - by freeing up the wages of players like Cole, Aquilani, Johnson and potentially Maxi and Kuyt, we will be able to afford to pay large wages to one or two playerscwho might actually play some games instead of moaning then being loaned out! I'm the OP btw and just so you know, Glenjo to Arsenal is actually from one of my more reliable sources, although they did say that it was just something theyd heard rumours of themselves.

Os red

Liverpool likely still pay a high percentage of coles and aqualainis wages. also we cannot bring such imbalance to the team. players will then ask for more wages so the low wage structure goes out the window. i think this may happen at arsenal.

And Poulsens wages!

While we all like to have cracks at eachother about the others teams, I think what happened last night with Muamba puts things in perspective for everyone. Thoughts are with him & his family. Good luck tonight boys

Melbourne CFC

Would also like to add that whoever the person is going on all the pages to disagree with well wishes for Muamba is a plight on the football world and the community as a whole. You may support a club but I guarantee that your club would not support you and your actions you faceless, nameless, gutless keyboard w*nker.

Melbourne CFC {Ed001's Note - the worst thing about it is that people are immediately assuming it is opposition fans and using it as an excuse to score a point about how disgusting the other team's fans are. Considering there is the same issue on every site, I think we can all be sure we just have some sick people thinking they are funny from every club's fans.}

Who ever is pressing disagree , karma is a bitch , you'll get what's coming to ye !!

I don't think it really matters as to what club the person supports Ed, in my opinion it doesn't reflect on the club that they support it reflects on the person themselves. Just upsetting that some people find it necessary to act so disgracefully for what ever reason, when such a serious thing has happened.

I have been blown away on a whole as how the majority of people have reacted. Shows their is alot of classy people on these pages. You boys on here have done yourselves really proud, and if Anfield was to show support to Fabrice through a chant I think it would be incredible. Best atmosphere out of almost any ground in the world on most nights as it is.

i think johnson should be tried on the wing be interesting because, he is a poor defender but good at attacking and its not like we are flooded with options worth a shot,,, look at bale started LB similar scenario,, not as good obviously but cant be worse than he has been..
opinions anyone??

MarcusLFC

I agree . i think his technique is good enough to allow him to play further up

Glen Johnson is one of the best if not best right backs in the league and it is total nonsense hearing liverpool should or are getting rid of the lad. He has been a huge asset to our side. However I would love to see him in action at right midfield as he does provide well in attack and martin kelly should be getting 1st team action. End of story.

In the last year Johnson defending has improved vastly i dont get why people say he cant defend when he can

Johnson still no1 RB. Kelly can take over his place next season if he moves on.

To the above post...

Glen Johnson is a shocking defender, he is good going forward but is lazy, wonders out of position, has cost us countless goals in past seasons and even this season, as the ED has pointed out many times, he plays best at left back as he has to concentrate so much more, he is on 90,000 a week and we have a homegrown player on the bench who is on the bench and better than him.

G BOX

Glen Johnson is a technically gifted footballer and is the least of our problems, think you'll find Reina has cost us more goals this season, if you feel the need to have a go at anyone. It never ceases to amaze me? Can't believe some people.
There's no substitute for skill; hard work alone! Will win you nothing..
kidmillions {Ed001's Note - no good having skill if you spend the match asleep.}

Typically weird comment! When does Johnson ever sleep through a game? Ridiculous.
