Use our rumours form to send us liverpool transfer rumours.

18 Jul 2011 23:49:37
Hey Ed...when do you think Fernandez Suso and Rahim Sterling will be good enough for the premiership..from what i have seen they should be there now...it would save us millions in transfers... {Ed009's Note - I am not so sure they are physically ready for week in week out football, and if they were to play in a big game and be anonymous or make a big mistake they may well not be mentally ready to cope either. Their game is good enough though and Kenny has much faith in youth, so I imagine they will make a few appearances next season, likely as substitutes.}

18 Jul 2011 23:46:37
AC Milan and Arsenal are both interested in Enrique. Looks like his head is possibly turning towards these clubs.

18 Jul 2011 23:47:05
eds,
how much more signings do you think we will make.

Goochy Paul. {Ed002's Note - Two or three.}

Hi eds just came back from the bray wabderers vs liverpool XI and i spotted a few good and few bad things in the team i know it is only a friendly but some of the players were very very average two players in particular really didnt impress these two are nabil el zhar and tony sylva now i understand sylva is young and has time on his side so maybe he will flourish because before today i thought he was quality but el zhar if he cant do it against a part time team who made him look average where is his future
On a brighter note 5 players really caught my eye tonight they were nathan ecclestone suso brad smith david amoo and raheem sterling all young and have time on there sides sterling looks different class amoo is a big powerful wide man eccelstone held the line excellently and scored a very Impressive goal smith never stops running and suso gives everything both going foward and tough tackling just wondering if anybody else was there and what they thought

If Liverpool get auger I will eat my on **** more chance of Gareth haybale finally being realised as a crap player

18 Jul 2011 23:26:34
To see Man city spend big money on attacking players is becoming a cause for joy. There is every chance that Adam Johnson will be squeezed out which gives teams like Liverpool an opportunity to sign him.

lol, just as i was in the depths of despair at dispatches program, i read down the page and Carlos Tvez is getting mistaken for SWP, brightened my mood up :-)

Ed, do you think if we went in for him would we have a chance of getting Michael Owen. Would be quite cheap and a good backup, although united mightn't want to sell to us. {Ed009's Note - I am sure we would have a good chance but he is crocked and I am certain he will not be received well. I know of no interest at this time.}
TO THE CLOWN WHO POSTED THIS AM SURE 98% OF LIVERPOOL FANS AND THIS IS NOT A DIG AT ANYONE BUT I MEAN REAL SCOUSERS WOULDN'T WANT THAT LITTLE RAT ANYWERE NEAR OUR CLUB AGAIN AS AV SAID BEFORE STRIP HIM FROM OUR HISTORY ONCE YOU SIGN FOR UNITED THAT'S IT THE LOVE AFFAIR IS OVER.I JUST WANT TO POINT OUT WHAT HE SAID WHEN HE WON PREMIERSHIP MEDAL THIS GOES DOWN AS MY GREATEST ACHIVEMENT ONCE A RAT ALWAYS A MANC ( suarez's left ball )

18 Jul 2011 23:09:09
we need a left back at anfield badly and i think the man we should get is Cissokho from lyon forget price and get him

18 Jul 2011 23:03:18
Ed, sorry if you've already been asked this but i've been away. Is Skrtel injured cos he doesn't seem to of been with the squad in China?
Also, just come back from Las vegas and all the sports shops was full of Liverpool merchandise and I spotted alot of Americans wearing Liverpool shirts so it seems John Henry and his team are doing a great job of promoting is in the U.S. Think the club is in good hands. {Ed009's Note - his wife is pregnant and expecting the baby any time. Hope you had a good time.}

This site is a great example of the herd instinct.

Despite massive evidence to the contrary there are huge numbers of people now deciding Aquilani is going to stay because guess what - he provided some assists in a pre-season friendly.

A week ago many were bemoaning our lack of transfer acivity. A couple of deals later we're so smart for doing our business early.

The lists of 10 or more signings have been whittled down to one or two after Macca says the spending is done.

Almost all our top targets have been signed. FACT
More signings dependent on sales. FACT
Take all "we want to keep Alberto" talk with a pinch of salt. FACT
Expect one senior player other than Aquilani to be sold. FACT-ISH

Jus seen Carlos tevez in frankie and bennys in Liverpool with dirk kuyt Looks

We now need foreign talent in my view after the sales of el zhar, krygiakos, poulsen, maxi, mavinga, konchesky etc. For me we need a centre back, winger and back up striker (all foreign we have signed enough homegrown players, and need more flair and technical ability).

CB options - Lovern, Sakho, Kjaer,
Wing options - Mata, Bastos, Turan, Capel, Marin
Striker - Bojan, Munian, Negredo

I feel one from each category would give us a good chance of 4th place.

It's really funny when people post rumours from 'very reliable' sources then, in the same sentence, ask the eds for approval of their nonsense....

18 Jul 2011 22:03:44
i realy hope we get rid of the dead wood soon, im sure ive no need to name them lol, then we can look at bringing in a few more players cb and another striker happy times

18 Jul 2011 21:56:44
Does anyone know or seen anything of the young lad 'NACHO' whos on trial at liverpool at the moment so called the next SUSO???

Just watching the channel 4 dispatches programme, looks pretty bad for Fergie lol Corrupt

18 Jul 2011 21:53:37
What happened in that channel 4 programme? Sorry, i missed it.

18 Jul 2011 21:47:52
I hate the idea of missing out on Scott Dann.
A few years ago LFC were in for Ashley Young but missed their chance. Hope the same thing does not happen because Dann would be good enough for LFC.

18 Jul 2011 21:40:03
Stuart Downing picks on the official LFC website are brilliant, he trains with a smile on his face and looks very fit. He surely will be a quality addition to the LFC first team.

Liverpool Football Club set to sign Jose Enrique from Newcastle United for a fee of around £13 million pounds.

Sorry ain't round a tv just now, someone explain to me what fergie has done on that dispatches thing?

18 Jul 2011 21:18:05
Hi Ed(s) do you think all our next signings are not depandant on shifting the 'deadwood' but LFC may want it to look so, as that may drive the price down abit and we have our sights set on players in the Copa America and need that to finish to complete any deals, im not saying all our targets lay there but is there a chance we have set our eyes on someone there, im not a deluded fan so who do you think is a realistic target?
INDIANred. {Ed002's Note - Sadly I don't I am afraid.}

Hi ed's / Macca

I am an avid reader and lover of this site and ed002 is a cracker with his comments but seems to have lost his sarcastic whit a little.

Any way i have read Macca's comments about Steve G's groin. What seems to be the problem and does it look like bad news?

thanks
Rocket {Ed002's Note - I think you will find that Macca's comments were more about Gerrard's groin injury rather than just his groin.}

After a 15 year wait I have recently got my season ticket :-) and would just like to say with all the recent rumours about departures I really hope Aquilani stays a red after his performances in Asia. His vision and passing are Alonso like (nearly) and If there is a chance of him staying I think it would be a great benefit to the team I know we will have to get rid of some of the midfielders but with Aquilani, Meireles, Gerrard, Adam and Lucas we have depth in the middle of the park and a great bench Hope we sign Cissoko and Dann and give the younger players loan moves ie Shelvey Spearing. We sould get rid of N'Gog as he really isnt good enough technically or mentally for a place up front. Pacheco should be given more time on the pitch as he's a real gem along with Suso. Exciting times for us and I cant wait to sit on the kop every home game untill I snuff it YNWA

18 Jul 2011 20:56:09
Hope you've been watching Dispatches tonight. Martin Broughton seems to have done a great job, Peter Lim (The Singapore bid) just been exposed as a bit of a Con Man. Fergie's gonna have to do a lot of explaining tomorrow......he'll never move from Sir to Lord that's for sure. Liverpool fans; sit back and watch it all unfold

-Shane.

18 Jul 2011 20:54:59
Is it wishful thinking, to hope Fergie gets suspended pending a full FA investigation into tonight Channel 4 documentary?? Shocking to see the loan system being abused.

Judging by one of the ads I've seen on this page, I expect a single Filipino to sign for us by the end of the transfer window

18 Jul 2011 19:44:56

i know it does not matter now but do you remember that pic of andy carrol a fan and stewart downing with a scarf? well if you do could you tell me if that was indeed fake because now hes come to us it makes me think it might have been real.

Aly Cissokho has yet to play three consecutive seasons for one club in his career, so loyalty is a big question mark.

His teeth indicated potential spinal problems, which could occur in the future.

According to Daniele Perticari at Goal.com, Doctor Renzo Mandozzi said Cissokho s teeth could also be linked to the presence of granulomas, which could affect human muscle or the heart.

hi eds, on the dann saga what do you think the chances are, im sure i heard stoke had made an offer a few weeks ago but nothing has happened, do you think this is because he is holding out for liverpool which i beleive kk will sign him but they need to remove a few off the wage bill first also with the left back position i think we should give insua a season he has matured and bulked up alot and he has got pace and can cross a ball why waste any money on a left back in my opinion i dont no why they loaned him out in the first place last season and as for dani pacheco he should get a good run he would certainly be good cover for carrol saurez and kuyt i rate him alot all this aguero rumours would love to see it just think his wages and fee will be to much but i could be wrong...what do you think eds.... {Ed002's Note - It all seems plausible.}

18 Jul 2011 19:31:27
Please Please Please no more about Adam Johnson - he isn't for sale, City will not sell good players to rival, and more impoirtantly why do we need him, he is average at best.

18 Jul 2011 19:28:38

just wondering what you made of young Conor Coady's first two games and wether or not you think he will get many chances of a run out this season ?? Brilliant site by the way a real infectous rumours page with great insightful comments given in response to nearly each and every rumour... Hats off to you lads... YNWA

18 Jul 2011 19:25:09
Hi eds, how many eds are there??? Anyway you guys are doing good job Not not, only jokeing. Anynews on any buy? {Ed002's Note - There are 40 some odd.}

18 Jul 2011 19:07:06
Hey ladies and gents, was watching the match on sat and gotta say was not overly impressed. I have to say cant wait for the new season and to see all the new lads playing but that game on sat was a reality check for me and i think people are getting a bit too carried away too soon. Now people will prob jump down my throat for saying this and tell me go support city and all that but someone has got to say it and there has to be a few more out there that are not believing all the hype, even do its hard not to somtimes.

18 Jul 2011 19:06:47
Ed what is turan's injury record like as many people say he is injured a lot? {Ed002's Note - Short of me digging the detail out which I don't have time to do, he has been Gala's captain for a couple of years and I don't recall problems of note until his injury that kept him out for much of last season. So I guess whilst he has been injured recently up until then it was run of the mill knocks.}

18 Jul 2011 19:00:19
Hi ed, do u thing there will be more signings this window? If so who do you think would be most likely? Cheers, dan {Ed002's Note - Yes but it is near impossible to say who the most likely will be. I would suggest a centre back, a forward (possibly right sided) and perhaps a left back.}

18 Jul 2011 18:41:35
Ed or posters, does anyone know where I can watch the Bray vs. Liverpool XI game? Thanks

18 Jul 2011 18:40:55
Ed more of an observation really.
IMO Kenny seemed to persuade Pepe to stay on at Liverpool as there was lots of rumours that he could be looking elsewhere to ply his trade.
Do you think that the promise of top transfer targets
Charlie Adam
Stewart Downing
Jordan Henderson
(and i'm not knocking any of these players, coz i'm pleased with them all)
But do you think that he thought these are the players that will push us on the win the league?
Or do you think that we might have something else lined up under the radar?

Beggers {Ed002's Note - I suspect it is all conjecture. I imagine that Comolli told him that the club were committed to moving forward that the owners would be supportive and generally gave him a hug. GHe would not have said we will be signing a, b and c.}

18 Jul 2011 18:37:12
Hi ED,

I was just wandering if you think Joe Cole's pre season performances have made liverpool think twice about selling him or do you think he will still be sold.

Thanks Raj {Ed002's Note - I don't know that the club had thought about selling him this summer. I have always maintained that I thought he would stay.}

18 Jul 2011 18:33:29
I rekon you should give irish kev his own banter file defo. Eds wat do u think?

crazy-legs ynwa
-----------------------

Erm....i don't know what to say "crazy-legs ynwa".
My first online stalker?? Lol
Have had a couple of them in real life but this is my first online :O)

This would be a very very bad idea crazy-legs
I am 100% sure that i would only drive the Eds even crazier than i do already & not to mention turn some of the posters into night owl, schizophrenic, potato hating, dribble rubbing weirdos.
I know it'd be an improvement for some of them i suppose you could say (lol - joking) though. Lol

Cheers,
Irish Kev.

18 Jul 2011 18:26:02
We don't need an up and coming left back, and we don't want a poor journeyman on high wages. I hate the term stop gap, but Aurelio, Johnson, Robbo, Insua?, and Agger can cover the left back spot until at least January.. Cissokho is only 23, how would that impede upon Robinson's development into the first team if we dropped big bucks for Cissokho, it won't be good news for our youth

18 Jul 2011 18:25:47
Sorry Ed, you wouldn't mind confirming weather Bruna has been sold or is on loan?

Thanks, James. {Ed010's Note - it is a permanent deal.}

Why Is Everyone Righting Off Henderson He Is A Young, Hard-Working, Creative Midfielder

18 Jul 2011 18:17:50
ed, please if you could give us any insight to the story going around with regards to Gerrard's groin not responding all that well, is there any truth to it?

I would be really miff if that is the case.

red4ever {Ed009's Note - all there is at the minute is rumours. I can't see Kenny telling everyone he will be back for the season if it wasn't the case. Perhaps there has been a slight complication but that certainly isn't uncommon and provided he recovers for the most part of the season I believe that is all that matters.}

18 Jul 2011 18:17:34
Yet again I post and it don't appear - You swear I was bad naming someone. Ye post the stupid Aguero rumours quick enough

Corkpoolred {Ed009's Note - what did you post? There is no way a post would be deleted for no reason, unless it repeated what someone had just said.}

18 Jul 2011 18:21:08
Macca, those lottery numbers you gave me were useless. WTF is going on. Seriously mate, keep posting, those of us who have been on this forum long enough know that you have posted rumours well before anyone else which turned out to be true. As you say things change or some times dont come true for a multitude of reasons. Reality Red

18 Jul 2011 18:09:51
We shouldn't get too excited about who performed well in the friendlies so far. As i recall a certain pony tailed Voronin had a blinding set of friendlies and look how he turned out in the premiership.

18 Jul 2011 18:08:58
Hey ED. Just wanna know if theres a possibility of signing Royston Drenthe from Real Madrid as they have signed Coentrao. I still think hes a very good player and he fits the FSG policy.
Thanks. {Ed010's Note - I Don't think any players will be incoming till some players are sold}

18 Jul 2011 18:08:49
Eds/Macca, what are ther chances of me signing for Liverpool on a 50k p/w wage? {Ed010's Note - Just make a Wikipedia page for yourself!}

18 Jul 2011 18:06:28
Same old s**te from now to September, us being linked with any and all decent players. Get this in your heads, our spending is over for the year. The next 6 weeks will go easier for you if you accept this. MCFC and CFC will now take centre stage. Seriously guys, we should now be talking about who will be leaving more than who will be coming in, trust me on this.

18 Jul 2011 17:37:09
Hi Ed- Im goin a bit mad with all this surmising of who will come , who wont- just want to know what your opinions are on who you think will come to Anfield, if any? {Ed002's Note - I am sorry but you need to read the messages.}

18 Jul 2011 17:35:30
Steven Gerrard
Martin Skertel
Glen Johnson
Daniel Agger

These payers can be like new signings next season if they keep fit.

18 Jul 2011 17:35:07
Ed002 could you not have a transfer section with a list of top players then you could up date each player then we could choose each player to see your updates on each player, if they ask about aguero just refur them to his section

oh yeah

crazy legs holyhead {Ed002's Note - Sadly it does not work - the questions keep coming.}

18 Jul 2011 17:16:03
liverpool are playing galatasary becos they want to scout arda turan

18 Jul 2011 17:13:15
Hi ed just thinkin is it better to keep Agger cause when fit he is well worth his place but of course that is not for long spells or keep Skertal who is like old booth leather but imo not as good only ask cause see bits of talk that one or other could be off if the money right .My posts are fairly random from one topic to another as live in Rep of Ire so have no source wont ever see limos pullin up outside melwood or hear from some ex players ballsac that such and such is a done deal , cheers ed love the site

18 Jul 2011 17:00:14
****** NEWS FLASH ******
For all the people saying Gerrard is injured I can put your lies at ease... Gerrard is in Ireland for the Bray Wanderers Vs Liverpool XI game... Just seen Gerrard, Aurelio and Kenny Dalglish arrive :D

18 Jul 2011 16:51:40
Beginning to get worried about some LFC fans. If we have to get rid of a few players before we can buy another striker or centre back (10-15m with avg wages), how the hell would we be interested in Aguero with a transfer fee of 35m and wages or 250k a week? Seriously guys, you lot are embarrasing.

Fensh

18 Jul 2011 16:36:15
Hey Ed's I just wanted to thank you personally for all you do. You spend hours on end working really hard, answering questions over and over again you have to research stuff and I for one certainly don't take your magnificent work for granted. You have a great site, that I am addicted to, so keep up the good work, and that goes for all of you. Thanks so much {Ed002's Note - Post of the day.}

18 Jul 2011 16:32:20
hiya ed does anybody else think that aguero will snub man city i think he must have at least spoke to tevez about the club and with him saying there is nothing to do in manchester and he would never go back even for a holiday do you think he may have second thoughts i know you must be fed up with peolple going on about aguero but nobody can say 100% whats going to happen with him

18 Jul 2011 16:29:39
Why didnt we bid for nasari instead of Henderson. He would have only cost around 5 mil more and is a way better player.

18 Jul 2011 16:25:13
I have question regarding Cissokho (don't worry Ed, I keep up to date with the site). A lot of the rumours are saying Lyon are willing to let him go round around £9m mark, however Lyon only brought him two years ago for £13m. Surely they won't want to make a loss on him if he does move on or are they really resigned to loosing him?

18 Jul 2011 16:19:54
hey eds is there any truth behind some posts on here that stevie g is in trouble fitness wise or even worse hes got have another op?? {Ed002's Note - I am afraid that I am unable to answer that. Certainly he was not fit enough to go to Asia and the club have already said that they "hope" to have him ready for the season, so clearly there is a risk. Obviously he won't be rushed back so it remains a case of wait and see.}

18 Jul 2011 16:05:14
Noticed a sergio aguero update for members on craptalk. Guessing this will fan the flames of the aguero to liverpool rumours, or quite simply fleece desperate 'we need a marquee signing' fans of their hard earned cash

Also, what happened to ken aguero? There were some rumblings about sightings early in the transfer window but nothing since. Maybe this is the surprise under wraps signing we have all been waiting for?

Greggers

18 Jul 2011 15:53:41
Quick stupid question... I have been wondering this for awhile, but is "macca" the real"macca?" (as in steve mcmanaman?)
YNWA USA {Ed002's Note - No, he is Macca.}

18 Jul 2011 15:51:24
Kenny Daglish will start to get rid of the deadwood players. Aquilani is looking likely to stay, and so is Joe Cole. I believe Poulsen, Jovanovic, Degen, and Jones are to definitely go, as these have no chance of breaking into the team. Cole, Ngog and Insua are possibly going to stay until January in order to try and convince the management that they have a future. older players who are staying at LFC have been asked to take a pay cut, or to lose some of their bonuses.

18 Jul 2011 15:46:20
So ed002 you dont think that we have made a bid for joel campbell? Scouserseb {Ed002's Note - I never said that.}

18 Jul 2011 15:44:16
A question to all who keep saying buy Arda Turan.

He played 8 games last season for Gala(4 as sub) as he was injured most of the season. Surely with the rigours of the Prem this would be a gamble and this is maybe why KK hasnt renewed any interest. I am sure it has been stated by the club they dont want to look at injury prone players? I am not saying he isnt a good player but if he is always injured it is pointless

I am sure if it was a British player with that record and we bought him there would be uproar

Another point, why do we never loan players with aview to buy like alot of other clubs do, as this would take alot of the risk element out of the buying? a bit like Juve dod with Aqua man

John Wigan

18 Jul 2011 15:41:33
this isn't a rumour, but i just wanna know if everybody still has faith king kenny and his transfer signings?

18 Jul 2011 15:40:23
Im hearing rumours of bad news soon to be officialy released from melwood all ovr facebook
Any thoughts ed {Ed002's Note - Not at this juncture I am afraid.}

18 Jul 2011 15:23:55
Hello Eds,
This is a great site, extremely addictive. The only frustration is about this site is that there should be a section for people who want to ask questions about transfers, ie Do you know anything about Dann, Arguero, Mata etc... There should be a section purely for Transfer Gossip, sightings, inside info etc ie. My uncle seen ?? in Liverpool, My dad works for LFC and told me...etc... It would eliminate all these repetitive questions.
Keep up the good work... YNWA... {Ed002's Note - But it doesn't, and you would have known that if you read a similar point made earlier. The Editors are in a completely no win situation. If we refer repeated questions to earlier answers we get the pathetic complaints saying that every question deserves an answer; if repeated questions are deleted you get the delusional folks saying that that we are censoring posts for our own means; if standard off-the-shelf answers are given you get the piteous bleatings that we are not showing enough respect by writing different indivual answers to each question. So it will stay pretty much the same as it is.}

To the poster who thinks a quite a few fans bar the realists i.m.o has wrote Jamie Carragher off. I couldn't agree more mate. I posted a couple of posts last night vigorously defending him. Alberto Aquilani
Date of birth 7 July 1984 (1984-07-07) (age 27)

we bought him at 25. so this is his peak years. are we really going to keep loaning him out and lose all value in the player.

Juventus got huge benfits from AquaMan then payday came, they decided to return him used to the store. Where not a blockbusters for players. Someone should buy him so we can move on or let him stay and prove his value here in the premiership

But just loaning him out for a season, then having him returned is stupid. He is at his peak and anyteam loaning him would be getting a super player this season with none of the risk.

If they hurt him, they just return him to us broken. So we have to pick up the peices. Its really not on.

He should be sold or kept. Not loaned out, returned and loaned out again untill his playing days are eaten up. Italian teams are so tight with the money.

Just have to say this im 35 , im supporting Liverpool 30years , sick of people saying we need one player here or there then we, ll be good...its as simple as this , we, ve aload of crap players at the club and we need to get rid of them all , and replace with quality good enough to play for Liverpool Skrtel , jovanovic, Poulsen, maxi, N'gog, Aurelio, Degen,
Soto, J.cole, Miereles, Lucas get rid of them all ..
we all know their just not good enough or consistant enough..well consistantly poor ....Aqualani hasnt been given a fair chance yet id keep him for this season
Bring in Cahill or Dann , Juan manual Vargas , Capdevilla free and he, d be better than Aurelio , Ever Benega , Arda Turan and Edison Cavani or Lavezzi ..then just concentrate on bring through as many of our younger players as possible ...

Anfield Andy, i wasn't taking the piss yesterday mate. I was being serious about you knowing Cattermole's bird and that he aint coming. You really did make my day with your reply. I live 20 mins from uclan mate, know Tarleton quite well, and like i said all your info about Runshaw college made me think that you are genuine I.T.K re Cattermole mate. A poor mans Spearing, and a Tramps Lucas at best. Hope this goes up so you no i wasn't tryin to take the mick mate. Jonson6

instead of selling all the deadwood and getting at least 10 mil why dont we use some of them as swaps im sure lyon would be happy with 6 mil + ngog.that would make both teams and players happy.i am sure ngog would like to go back to france.

Joel Campbell's Father and Agent

"We got another very good offer from one of the great English teams, which is just as interesting in sporting terms to Arsenal, but also more economically.
"I will meet now with my wife and together we will make the decision whether to sign with Arsenal, the other club, or wait for something else."

Do you think who is one of the great English teams that he said? have chance it maybe us?

And I have a question. When's Lucas back to Melwood? and can he play against Sunderland or Arsenal? {Ed002's Note - I have no idea which teams the kid's father was talking about but don't hold your breath. Lucas will have a couple of weeks off and then report back. I don't suppose he will be rushed back in to the side.}

I was speaking with a mate last night who is friends with one of the players. He says that Gerrard needs to have another operation which could rule him out for the next 4-5months. I really hope this not true.

lfc need to get rid of many players who will not feature or are simply not good enough.these players are:

degen
kyrgiakos
jones
jovanovic
konchesky
insua
mavinga
amoo
ince
bruna
eccleston
ngog
poulsen
el zhar

then theres the maybe list:
cole
meireles
aqualani
aurelio
maxi

getting rid of both lists would in my mind generate around 35-40m and save over 500k a week in wages.
then we can buy a cb lb and another winger for that money.and still save on wages.

scott dann 10m
aly cissokho 12m
a.johnson 18m
all for probabaly under 200k wages saving us 300k in the long run and net spend being around 40-45m.i think the top list will move on 1st then the bottom list if clubs are found for these players.DORSET RED

First time post but long term reader. If we are not to make any more signings the team will most likely look like this:

Reina
Kelly Skrtel Agger Johnson
Adam Lucas
Suarez Gerrard Downing
Carroll

For me this teasm dosnt scream out quality, I think forth could be difficult but if Arsenal are to loose fabregas, nasri and van persie then I think we'll get it. People saying we can push for the title but that is extremley unrealistic, we have not signed any pure quality players.

Alright Eds,

Just wondering, you say certain players like El Zar and Degen will be hard to unload due to the high wages they're on at Liverpool, well wouldn't an idea be to terminate their contracts. They wouldn't bring much in transfer fee's so surely that would be an easier way to get them off the books. Just an idea. {Ed002's Note - Sure that can be done. Obviously Liverpool will then have to pay up their wages that are remaining on their contracts and send them on their way.}

Just an observation.
Over the weekend we were linked with a move for Lee Cattermole... Today Steve Bruce said he was baffled by the reports Guess who the source was for this rumour? Yes, the terrible Mirror newspaper... Why do people bother reading this paper, just made up rubbish and this story just proves it

18 Jul 2011 13:56:41
Hi Ed, you are doing a great job. Have heard a rumour from a friend who works at John Lennon airport that he has just seen Neymar & Pastore both off a plane from Argentina as they r now both out of the Copa America strange place to fly into as neither play in england....could they be coming to the Reds? Medicals today? {Ed002's Note - The medicals will be tomorrow rather than today giving them time to recover from their easyjet flights from Argentina.}

18 Jul 2011 13:51:57
Hi ed any chance of lfc getting aguero read sumut on eurosport earlier , his agent saying future yet to be decided {Ed002's Note - I refer you to early answers on this very question.}

18 Jul 2011 13:36:12
Any Eds. If their is 1 more signing before we have to get the deadwood who's wages our f***in our killing us, who do you think will be the priority position or first signing will be, a left back or centre back? Jonson6 {Ed002's Note - The priority is to address the cost of maintaining all of the fringe players - not making any more signings until that is done.}

18 Jul 2011 13:30:13
hi eds, great site just wanted your thoughts on jermaine defoe? he's a class striker and think we'd get him at a good price why don't we show some interest in him maybe even a part ex inc aqua or cole. sound like good business to me.

18 Jul 2011 13:26:57
KK is buying the exactly same way he bought in 1987
Mainly british proven players
Back in 1987, Dalglish entered the transfer market to sign four key players that took Liverpool to another level.
THE STRIKERS: 1987 JOHN ALDRIDGE, 2011 Andy Carroll
THE NUMBER SEVENS: 1987 PETER BEARDSLEY, 2011 LUIS SUAREZ
THE LEFT-SIDED MIDFIELDER: 1987 JOHN BARNES, 2011 Charlie Adam/Stewart downing
THE RIGHT-SIDED MIDFIELDER: 1987 RAY HOUGHTON, 2011 Jordan Henderson

Dalglish knows how important balance is to a top team and he will look to Charlie Adam and or stewart downing to supply that to the modern day Reds.

18 Jul 2011 13:26:05
Why all these rumours about Joe Cole leaving eds? Steve Clarke has said he has been impressed with his pre season form and his attitude on and off the field and will make a BIG contribution at LFC this season. Any chance of Houllier getting a job as part of LFC's backroom staff?

Personally, I think it would be great to involve him somehow. He loves the club and has a great knowledge of the game.

And he also says he cannot be without football in his life, although he probably won't go back into management as such due to his heart problems.

Any thoughts? {Ed002's Note - As previously answered, I suspect a quiet retirement beckons.}

hi ed, was wondering when you think gerrard will return to full training, and what game do u think he will return
thanks {Ed002's Note - Sorry but there is no way I can sensibly answer this.}

18 Jul 2011 13:15:43
I don't think this will happen but what if we came in with a offer for Aguero It would be a massive statement of intent and i think he would choose us over everyone else

Maybe try and include maxi or aquaman in some sort of deal, tho i'd like to see the latter stay. Any possibility of it happening ed?

SamBoss {Ed002's Note - It seems most unlikely and I am pretty sure that the owners are not in the business of making massive statements of intent.}

18 Jul 2011 13:04:12
I know that we have singed Downing but i do feel the need for another out and out winger. The reason for this is that if and when Downing gets injured then we will be back to square 1 as all the other winger we have cant put a decent ball into the box as they all cut inside. Just my thoughts what does every1 think?

18 Jul 2011 13:02:35

guys whats ur thoughs on aqua...should he be given onemore chance ?...

...i got this from a site is a part of an article abut aquilani

"Alberto is a player who has quality, game intelligence and can pass the ball quickly. He can play more offensive than Alonso did in the final third, and he has more accuracy in his final pass."

After enjoying a sustained run in the team towards the end of 2009/10, Aquilani actually ended the season with the best assists per minute rate of any player plying their trade in Europe's top five leagues.

lol i do believe in him ....as we have seen if magic of king-K can turn maxi in such player (before that 2 hatrics n good display i thought he is a crap ).i wonder what he'l do with aqua if he gives him a hand

18 Jul 2011 12:48:55
What's happening with squad numbers?

Please tell me that the training kits don't have the right numbers on. Downing taken 14 and Henderson now 3? 3?

Midfielders should not be number 3. Things like that annoy me, yes.

What numbers will they be? Cheers

Anyone know of any spare for liverpool v bray tonight

18 Jul 2011 12:40:11
Ed, why are we selling Meireles? In his first season in the EPL he was one of our best players
Olly J R {Ed002's Note - Meireles is uncomfortable with verbal commitments given to him when he joined not being met.}

18 Jul 2011 12:17:15
Every time I watch Shelvey play, i'm torn in two as to wether I like him or not. He has the ability, and one day looks like he will be a decent player. My problem with him is that his body language and effort around the pitch suggests that he thinks he is already the finished article. As things stand He is our 7th choice CM so I hope he gets sent out on loan and realises there is still alot of work to be done to get anywhere near our starting 11.

18 Jul 2011 12:13:30
hey eds have you ever considered doing a list of players names followed by the current info on them along with your own opinions rather than having everyone posting the same questions over and over and over again (when are we signing Aguero/Higuain/Mata, which players do you think we should be rid of etc etc...)

But then I suppose the forum comments would be greatly reduced to about 4 lines per day...and thats not good {Ed002's Note - Yes but people don't read it and unfortunately still ask the questions.}

18 Jul 2011 11:58:05
For anyone doubting and criticising why Liverpool are buying so many midfielders, consider that the club are contemplating life without Gerrard. As much as I love this lad, I have a feeling he's finished.

18 Jul 2011 11:31:16
Notice the way KK and DC are signing all of these English players, the reason I think this is, is because all the team with have a good understading, they become more loyal to the club, they bond and get along quicker. It's similar to Barcelona; the majority of there squad is spanish and alot of them are in the Spain squad. That is what I think anyway.

I think Aqualani and Meirles will be staying. Poulsen, Jovanovic, Insua, Rodriguez and Ngog are all off and will find a new club. We will then sign Lee Cattermole with these funds and will sign a backup striker and Cissokho will take LB.

LFCTraynor

18 Jul 2011 11:21:27
With all these rumors circulating of a right winger i think we may already have the answer within our squad.

Joe Cole has shown his ability during pre season and with him and downing alternating on the wings we will have the depth. Jordan Henderson and Dirk Kuyt can also play on the right side of midfield so we have cover.

If a right winger was to be brought in i think it would be an English player such as Mark Albrighton or perhaps Matt Jarvis.

18 Jul 2011 11:14:54

I am loving the fact that the owners are happy to buy players and I think we have a real chance this eason (especially now man City no longer have Tevez).

What I wanted to ask is who do you think we will sign next?
Do you think we sign anouther Striker?
and finally do you think we also get anouther CB or is that not a priority?
Thanks and great job ED :)

Hi Ed i was wondering with all the high profile players we have been linked with do you think that some are just a false statement of intent to keep fans on side. While I do appreciate the efforts been made behind the scenes i can't help but feel that this approach is a cute way of keeping the fans on side. What do you think.
regards {Ed002's Note - I imagine that there would be an adverse reaction from the fans to the club making false statements of intent. Genreally, the fans try and read way too much in to everything - there are no smoke screens or player bought to demonstrate statements of intent.}

Conceeding 6 goals in 2 games ??
=========================

Hello fellow REDS & EDS,

I didn't manage to watch either of the 2 friendlies.

I understand that they were only friendlies and we were there to entertain the crowds, but can anyone explain to me how we let in 6 goals in 2 games?

Is there something we need to worry about? Because I am quite concerned.

hey eds, please don't block me for asking this as this is not related to the club , but can you please tell me why roy hodgson was called woy ?

18 Jul 2011 10:36:31

I belive we have got some great signings in Adam, Downing, Hendo and Doni. I think we have spent lots of cash but on good players. I understand we need to get rid of some of our players but realisticly do you think we will make much to cover the cost of new players and do you know who if so we have an interest in?

Cheers Baz {Ed002's Note - I can only guess who is of interest but the focus has to be on clearing out fringe players right now. I think the bulk of the shopping has been completed.}

18 Jul 2011 09:56:10
Ed anytime you're asked a question on deadwood you mostly reply by saying big wages Who in the name of jesus negotiated these deals? Bad players on high wage - disaster

Corkpoolred {Ed002's Note - It goes back before the current administration. Sometimes there is compensation being paid for a nominally "free" transfer (Cole, Jovanovic and Degen are all being paid a little over the cost of living for example) and now the club are suffering from financial commitments (or perhaps over commitments) that were made when there was likely an assumption about Champions League football being played every year. The club will of course be fine, but the need to somehow be rid of El Zhar and Degen and others who are soaking up money every week without any likelyhood of appearing for the first team.}

I know it's off topic, but to that lad last week that said Messi is over-rated, i hope your words taste nice mate?

18 Jul 2011 03:32:53
Steve Clarke says Joe Cole has a future at Liverpool. Seems that we'll keep both Cole and Aqua - with Spearing and Shelvey going out on loan. I think that's a good call - both had a tough start at Liverpool but both are still good players. KK will get more out of them than Hodgson.

18 Jul 2011 02:49:55
Neymar would be terrible in the PL. The CB's in the PL would tear him apart. How can someone be rated at 40M+ playing in the damn Brazilian league. Thank god we don't have a chance of getting him. Will likely do well in a finesse league. In fact most of the "highly rated" stars in the Copa America, were severely disappointing.

About lee catermole in all of the match of the day matches i have seen with him in it he always got a red card and lucas got a red card in copa america so if they both get a red card and we get rid of aquilani and poulsen we are stuffed

18 Jul 2011 06:07:04
A little off topic again, but what the hell has happened to Brazil, they're doing what Italy did in the last world cup, they know they can play football, but that'd take too much effort, they think because of their history and the pedigree of their players that they just deserve to take the trophy home without playing for it, that they own it, and when another team doesn't let them take it they feel they're justified to dive, cheat and whinge. I remember a time when Brazil were beautiful to watch, but i really think the way the game is heading worldwide is to blame for this, while the likes of Spain, Barca and hopefully liverpool are happy to see a bit of flair and creativity, the rest of the footballing world have discovered the unattractive side of the game, who would have thought this would ever happen to brazil, they just seem unhappy because their natural flair has been stifled, even Neymar is looking terrible in this tournament because he's being coached to play like Vinnie Jones, no risks, no flair, just predictability(he's also over-rated, just another robinho). Now for how this relates to LFC, we have bought the likes of Luis Suarez, who's creativity has been nurtured over the years, it's nice to see that we still have the desire to have a bit of unpredictablity within our squad, i understand we can't have every player like this in the english game, but 1 or 2 is nice. The way coaches like Mourinho and Dunga are trying to take the game is criminal, yes it CAN get results, but when you meet a team with a bit of flair and creativity anything can happen, hence the elimination of Brazil and Argentina. So I'm looking forward to the season ahead, it's nice to have a manager that's happy to take a chance.

El fuego hermoso.

do u think that conor coady is a midfielder that could be in the roy keane monld?tanx

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

He is actually, well spotted mate. I know some people choose to ignore it, and other people just didn't understand it, but believe it or not but Roy Keane was actually a very talented footballer when he wasn't kicking the f*** out of people, and if his blinding rage didn't get in the way so often he'd be held in a higher opinion. But besides that he was a good passer, a smart footballer and could control the pace of a game, which is what i've seen in Coady. So yes there are similarities.

I think lfc should sell Lucas. He had a good season but I think meireles is a better player. Hes a proven goal scored or even aqua who can pass and create chances and hes having a good preseason so far.

eds with brazil eliminated from the copa america does that mean we will perhaps have lucas back for the 1st game vs sunderland

D690 {Ed009's Note - I'd imagine its definitely possible. He will have two weeks of holiday I suppose, so he could get a week or so training in before the game.}
