Are big signings likely in the summer? Do you believe FSG will put a sizeable transfer budget in place?
Given some of the baseball deals they put together I think they shouldn't have a problem brining in some talent {Ed002's Note - You cannot compare baseball and football in that way.}

Well if you see how they look at the deal. Then you will notice that they never go into their own pocket for anything.

So our budget will be 38million which is our money from TV rights, ect. Now the question is who will they sell for a sizable amount of money. All our big name players have walked.

Only player worth anything anything more than what we paid for him, would be luis Suarez, but im guess Real would have to pay £50million + for him, Otherwise the euro-comp may increase the price on some of our players.

But i don't think Carroll will turn into a goal machine for 8weeks and help a manager-less england win cup.

I know the owners would pay for a player that had image right, boosted shirt sale appeal if they could figure out a deal to add towards transfer fee. Otherwise I cant see them going out of pocket.

So far Fenway group must see this a land deal. If they can develop the site at a profit then in the future they could sell the club for 600million. But online field side won't improve.

Any idea why Mr. Henry an co. are back this week? More sackings perhaps? Everyone from the coaches to the groundsmen are probably petrified of him, as if he'll walk by a staff member, turn round and yell "YOU'RE FIRED!" a-la Donald Trump in The Apprentice.

Also, on a side note; I heard that Drogba will be asked to play in the LD (Left Diver) position during Chelsea's next game after an astounding performance tonight.

Cheers,
McAlien

Interestingly I saw John Henry in Liverpool's 10th floor offices this afternoon on Chapel Street. I am also reliably informed that KK and SC were both suited up and in the building.

Drogba spent more time rolling around on the ground then he did running around. Personally I think this was decided before the game, because it did a fantastic job of breaking Barca's momentum. Barca will put three past Chelski in the return leg, remember Barca vs Arsenal....

It all depends on Messi. If Chelsea can shut him down, they will go through.

Hi Eds. Not sure if this has been said but a bloke I work with was at the Blackpool v Leeds game last night and he said all the talk amongst the Leeds fans was that Jamie Carragher has fallen out with the board over a broken promise of a coaching role next season. They were saying that FSG want a new manager in who will want his own staff and Carragher isn't seen as the man who a new manager wants. They have said Neil Warnock has offered him a player/coaching role next season at Leeds. Oh, and the new manager talk is because they said Kenny is moving upstairs. I don't believe it myself just letting you know just incase
RedSetter

BLX. In all probability Dalglish will be the next Director of Football and in turn a coach will be hired to replace him. (similar set-up at OT). Carragher is nearing the end of his time as a player and hands-on coaching experience at a lower pressure club would be a beneficial step to begin with. RED LENIN

He has to learn his coaching chops at another club, then come back. That's what Di Matteo did. That's what big Sammi is doing.

Also I believe his performances this season have done him no favors with the owners. Very, very poor.

He'd seriously struggle to get in the Leeds side. He's like a polar bear waiting for hip replacements

Ed, with Liverpool only getting 26,000 tickets for wembley and I presume 26,000 for Chelsea. What happens with the rest of the tickets?
Cheers
NotInTheKnow {Ed002's Note - Wembley season ticket holders, Wembley sponsors, press, other clubs, ....}

17,000 goes to wembley season ticket holders, the rest to the fa family.

Kenny Dalglish Performance this year:

If the fans admit Kenny Dalglish has no control at Liverpool football. How would they rate his media and motivational skills this season. I for one think his media skills have gone down the toilet with our chances to winning premiership title.

If the tactics are figured out before the game by tactical coach. Steve Clarke coaches them to play Damien Way.

The style of play is figured out in the boardroom using statistics + flowcharts. Player-recruitment done by the director of football based on his pie-charts and boardroom criteria of just enough bang-for-buck.

strongest formation, style of play and lineup is picked in the boardroom by committee of people. Then Kenny has no real control of anything that happened this season. He was just another yes man in the meetings.

Then really Kenny's Job is to look pretty on camera and give a decent press interview. So why hasn't he been able to do that recently. He seems to have developed an attitude with the media that has not won him any fans.

People would be praising him if he was on top of premiership table this season. Thinking King Kenny was the one man magic show that saved LFC. When good words are being offered it is easy for man to accept them even if the hard-work was not his own.

So why does he have a problem accepting criticism from the media who are looking for a juicy soundbite. Offering the man loaded questions so they can print the half-true story already written before the game had even kicked off.

Is Kenny Dalglish sub-conscienceless unhappy with the figure head role. Would kenny like the one hand behind his back untied. Allowed to play his brand of football and bring his people in to bring success.

Many people have said this season. "he is not a liverpool payer" is it time for quality over functionality. In the penny pinching world of American franchises, the word quality must translate into expensive. I remember last season our lack of follow through on sergio aguero and underbidding on Gael Clichy from arsenal.

Instead opting to overbid on functionality of Henderson, S Downing, José Enrique.

Would we be the title chase if we had Sergio Aguero this season instead of Andy Carroll.

He has better media skills than Fergie and Morinho and look how good United are & Chelsea were.

It is this simple: Kenny wanted British players of good quality so he sent Damien Comolli to look at who are the best available British players and he got them. Kenny does the tactics with Clark and Kean not Comolli. Comolli just picks the best bunch out of what Kenny whats. I doubt Kenny - who demands the Liverpool way - would let Comolli manage the team.

BthekingB

M8 i think ur theory on the whole thing is b****cks stop thinking and leave tht to the educated folk thts in charge

Overbid on enrique?
he was a bargain and i'd have him in my team over clichy any day of the week!

RE: : Kenny wanted British players of good quality

Liverpool football club and the boardroom at lfc wanted english players because of new squad rules and english quota.

Kenny wants what every fan wants, instant success that will feed his ego and reputation. Now this has nothing to do with kenny. So should we say this action was taken by the owners of the football club and forced on them by fifa or that french guy

Why do the fans think Kenny has total control at the club like as if it was the 1970's again. in a multi million pound football business, the manager becomes another expendable pawn on the table. A piece that can be easily exchanged without any change to the team style or personnel.

British players and quality?? bad match aint it?

A good night for Ed002 then...a bit lucky though but still well done to Chelsea...

Red PG {Ed002's Note - They have done well against them in recent years. We will see what next week brings.}

Im conflicted as i would like chelsea to win it all, they have been unlucky in recent years but i dont want torres to win anything after the comments he made, but well done was a great effort by all the chelsea players

If ed001 is a Liverpool fan, I would pay to watch ed002 and ed001 during that fa cup final. It must be insane. Tell me ed001, do you dim down your celebrations? Or does the misses not even let you watch Liverpool games in the home?
AnfieldUSA {Ed001's Note - wait, do you think 002 is my missus? Hahahaha, oh god my sides hurt!}

You were saying fellas? regardless of the second leg, you are a million miles away from beating Barca and we just did it

SHED END

Won't mean squat SHED mate, if you crumble at the Camp Nou.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

Whats up with this half time talk?

Tekneek

You're gonna need a lot of luck for the second leg. Barcelona didn't even nearly get out of 1st gear tonight and they still pinned yous back for practically the whole game. Do you think/want Di Matteo given the full-time job Shed?
Kev79

Take my hat off to Shed end, Chelsea and all fans. Excellent result, take my hat off to you. Done all Britain proud, Well done.
Should nt say this but Roman give Di Matteo the job. he deserves it

Taffytel

Sh*t End, wake up, ye just about beat them, you wont win the tie, and youll be lucky to see Champ League next season, what a muppet!
JayB

Someone will get back to you next week, Shed.

Matt S - YNWA

And what.....

We are the only British team to win at the Nou Camp, done it a few years ago, Barca will knock you out the cup and then we will win the FA Cup...

Giving it large when you got lucky your cool
it could of easily been 5-1

Well done thought Drogba was amazing and Barca may still win but nice to see an English team win.As far as us beating Barca , you will find that we beat them last time we played them .honestly even with all your banter good luck in the return leg

It is what it is lads. Give them credit. Grow up. well played chelsea.

Taffytel

Good luck in spain. Your the last english team still in it, it could end up being Chelse Vs bayern Munich

Chelsea will beat you in the fa cup final, better squad and mentality than you, my prediction is 3-0 to chelsea sorry red men but it's gonna happen, chelsea are better than you, end of i'd say. JIMBO-EFC.

Hilarious, you all said we had no chance before the game, we win and still making excuses. When will you learn your lesson eh lads

SHED END

Fair play to Chelsea, somehow managed to win. Barca did outplay you though, hit post/bar twice, Fabregas missing chance after chance, I didn't look at the stats but they'll be highly in Barca's favour apart from the most important one. Drogba was immense!

Was great to see the flags out in force in the Shed End, created a "real" atmosphere I'm sure.

Arsenal beat Barca at home last season, and then Messi dicked all over them at the Nou Camp, so SHED END I wouldn't start celebrating just yet, its only half time in the tie.

RedSG

Drogba was immense? He spent the whole game on the floor...

Barca had 72% possession and 25 shots compared to Chelsea's 5 - overwhelming stats, but all means nothing when one counter attack is all it takes. Favourable stats dont win you games, unfortunately for Barca. They can feel unlucky, but Chelsea can feel satisfied that the job was done - no away goal for Barca could be crucial.

LIVERPRES

Barca are like man u give them too much respect and they take advantage , do not want chelsea to win , but i think fate may play a part and put them against jose in the final.
villa and forest have won the european cup so why not chelsea perhaps when they do win it the owner will lose interest.

I'm a scouser currently living in Newcastle, and been listening to the local radio discussing Newcastle's good fortune this season. The talk tonight was all about how Newcastle have performed well beyond expectations this season. Their point tonight was that they have a really good team spirit, and several of their players were on the programme making comments about this. Plus there were fans who said that the spirit has been good. One fan happened to mention a good point; he said that two of Newcastle's defenders were hated by the fans in the past, so much so that they even booed them when they were brought on as substitutes. However, this season the fans have really got behind the players, and clapped and cheered them, and this has caused a couple of fairly average players to step up to the plate, and play really well. The players also commented on this and said it had really helped team morale, to see their friends and colleagues go from being booed, to being supported by the fans.

This made me think that we should also always do the same. Yes, some of our newer players have struggled a little bit, but while they wear our shirt, we should be supporting them. We should also take some responsibility; if we clap and cheer the players, they play better, and feel part of the Anfield family. If we don't, they won't. So let's support the team for the rest of this season, no matter who is playing.
YNWA, Geordiescouse

Had they not had such a great start to the season, let's not kid ourselves they would still be behind those luvverly defenders of theirs.

18 Apr 2012 21:42:21
watching that game tonight i couldnt help but think back to messi's comments of "anti-football" after he played against rangers

I hate this anti-football rubbish. Is safety play in snooker 'anti-snooker'? No, it's tactis. Chelsea were excellent tonight, fair play to em

Red Ollie

Chelski's eleven man defence was utter boredom. Hope they paste you next week.
ND

Messi just gets a cob on when he can not do what he wants , i am a big reds fan and i would be very happy to be in chelsea's position , respect to them for the result but not for many other things they do.

Chelsea 11 man defence got the job done end off!

stop moaning like a kid and give credit!

great game plan from chelsea a long with drogba antics! rolling around all the time breaks up barca passing game and it worked

Worst Barca performance I've seen in years, very sterile. Lots of the ball but not doing anything with it and when their getting in the finishing is terrible. So far 78 mins gone and I can't see them scoring. Also Drogba is a disgrace.

They where lucky on the weekend, a pen from nowhere

Drogba is top quality whatever you think of him wish we had someone like him. tonylfcforever

Not saying he's a bad player, I'm referring to the rolling around on the floor, it's the one thing that really gets on my tits. The guy is huge, it would take quite a blow to knock him over.

You must hate Suarez too then and think he is a disgrace?

Gav {Ed003's Note - Has anyone actually thought the Drogba antics were done deliberately(my opinion only) to beat a team like Barca you have to get under their skin and basically wind them up and midway through the 2nd half they did get wound up,great shift from Chelsea tonight....is it enough though? set up great for the 2nd leg}

Ed003 I must say I did think it was a deliberate ploy by Drogba when he kept going over in the 1st half, not even looking for a decision sometimes but just wasting time. Whether that was his or the manager's decision is another matter but it did seem to unnurve Barca a bit!

Gav {Ed003's Note - Worked a treat didnt it,I had a conversation last week about this fixture,I was convinced that the media would have been used more, sort of Jose tactics to wind Barca up? they do get irratated quite easily,I fancy Chelsea to be honest(just a hunch) }

It did indeed! I bet Chelsea were expecting more play acting from Barca but they werent as bad as usual, the Drog put them to shame, lol

The 2nd leg should be interesting at the very least

Gav {Ed003's Note - Not for the purist but I would target Dani Alves(loose cannon,I want to say a lot more about him but I would end up blocking my own IP addy) cant wait for the 2nd leg,but my mind is more on the play off positions at the moment,I have no nails left lol }

18 Apr 2012 20:53:05
Barcelona are really tedious to watch, they've become the Phil Collins of football.

I agree, it's like watching paint dry.

Ok, 2nd leg. If chelsea score one at nou camp, then bara need to score 3 goals? so chelsea need to get one goal within the first 20minutes and shut up shop at nou camp

Phil Collins is an absolute legend you Plantpot

Would much rather watch Real than Barca. Overrated and overhyped beyond belief.

18 Apr 2012 20:40:48
I think a closer look at some of Lyons players such as gomis 18 goals in 30 app and lloris as bk up

Lloris would definitely be a backup for Liverpool! Really good idea!!

Lloris as back up? No chance.

How is it people complain how big Andy dived against newcastle, yet Drogba has been diving all over the pitch tonight, yet low and behold not a peep from the tv coverage.

PM

Also, according to Sky, Lampard has had a "very disciplined game." I guess that's the new phrase for being worthless.

Seriously Drogba diving this is Barca we are on about Ashley young and saurez would get told off for staying on their feet if they played for barca

How nosey can u b

watching the champions league always makes me kinda sad these days. we're so far away from that standard and would probably go down in group stages IF we'd ever make top four. anfield needs proper european nights again.

Well we are far away from Barca's standard, but if we could get Chelsea every round it might be different!

The Irish Rover

I think wed do rather well

Judging by our cup form this season we wud of probably won it!

Never mind champs league we are far from being ready for the europa league

Well done Chelsea for holding out for a 0-0...

Mystic Red ;-)

It's funny but don't mock them. Every other club in the world would love a 0-0 against barca including us, bar Real madrid and maybe blackpool too haha.

Well thats that prophecy out of the window then

You can't go for 0-0 at Home... that mean to have to win at the Nou Camp -McMenemy {Ed002's Note - Or score draw.}

Hi Ed any progress on commoli replacement how much time u expect will take to find replacement. Do lfc have any interest in Goetza or mvilla or benzema. Hw many strikers u expect lfc will sign 1 or 2. thanx great site. i also want to know what fans think. {Ed002's Note - No idea about replacing Comolli; Goetze - no; M'Vila - no; Benzema - no.}

There is no rush for a replacement. It will take as long as it takes and the club will employ the best that is available at the time. RED LENIN

18 Apr 2012 18:53:51
i dont want to start a rumour but luis gustavo was amazing for bayern last night against real he broke up the play the same way mascerano used to do for us. if we didnt already have lucas i would like us to have been interested in this guy when he was for sale (jan 2011).

Never mind that, i never knew how good toni kroos was, he is top class

18 Apr 2012 18:35:57
the FA are a disgrace and we should all boycott the final , an half empty wembley stadium would speak louder than any person , and liverpool should put up a big screen at anfield and we can have 46,000 watching the final and all the money goes to our club and not the FA , but i know it wont happen , but money talks and by doing this it would speak volumes

The corporate section always looks half empty to me. Very embarrassing to see.

MIKEY

I don't think that would do any good mate, we have to be there. We are there to support the team/management, in trying to win another trophy. And not just any trophy, the FA's pride and joy. How sweet would it be to win the FA's own trophy?

Imagine if we did boycott Wembley and lifted the trophy? The lap of honour and celebrations, wouldn't last very long. lol

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

I know what your saying but our team will need all of the 26,000 (pathetic allocated amount) fans in presence to cheer them on.

A e-petition on the gov website demanding a complete review and where necessary, overhall of the FA is long overdue.

This is the interest of ALL fans and not just LFC as some suggested below.

The Crow

Bad idea. No matter how much we you disagree with the FA the team needs support.

I can't believe that 25,000 tickets have been allocated at the Chelsea end. ;)

DaveyBootle

I meant to say 25,000 corporate tickets at the Chelsea end.

DaveyBootle

This is the point of the 1st post , i knew us the fans would not do it , but you all moan and moan , take some action instead of moaning about the tickets , we are sheep in this country , what the fa is doing is greedy and i bet some of the tickets getting sold on the black market are being sold by the people in the fa , but if you keep wanting to take it up the jaksy then be my guest , but stop moaning about it , accept it and carry on , if you cant miss 1 game wich the players the manager and the club would understand then be the fools of the fa , my post was made so maybe if we done it then in the future we would get a better ticket allocation , how on earth can the fa get away with giving us more tickets to the semi final than the final , its because the final is a bigger show case , and theres more money to be made in the final , i will ask it a different way would you all miss one game if it meant we got more tickets in the future

18 Apr 2012 18:33:17
What are the chances of Raheem sterling actually playing any part this season or next? possibly one of the brightest youth english players and scored five last season in reserves? {Ed002's Note - He will have a small part to play but keep in mind he is only a child right now. Once he is 18 perhaps a few more opportunities as he will be able to train full time.}

18 Apr 2012 18:32:38
Watch out for Dani Alves tonight. When Barca are attacking he is a full on right winger with Masch, Puyol and Pique playing as a back three. When they have to defend or want to hold on to a lead then he drops back as an orthodox right back and Puyol or Pique goes across to left back in a flat back four. It is a fantastic approach, invented (i think) by Guardiola. While Glen Johnson is nowhere near Alves level, he is a similar type of full back. Surely Liverpool should try out this system for the rest of the season? It would make a massive difference in tight games against defensive sides at Anfield.
Kelly, Skrtel and Agger would be an ideal back three with Agger moving to left back in a four.

Hugh Pugh.

Watch Dani Alves tonight - crying like a spoilt little girl whenever a decision goes against him, diving like Tom Daley, and feigning injury all the time. A talent? Sure. A disgrace? Definately. He is more embarrassing than Ronaldo and Nani rolled into one. Nick.

Ronaldo and Nani rolled into one. Nick.
====================

I dont think any player in the world can be worse than them two when it comes to crying like little girls, diving like Tom Daley and feigning injury.
Roy

And just Nani rolled into one would be bad enough.

JB

There just making the best use of the best players available in their squad, which is one of the key factors for success. How many posters myself included have suggested our best right sided players for defence and attack would be Johnson right mid with Kelly right back.
kidmillions

Remember when Rick Parry didn't sanction a £10m move for Dani Alves in 2006?

He may love his theatrics but read any of the recent articles about him and the facts speak for themselves, he is a a top quality player!

RedSG

Dani Alves is a superb player and instrumental in Barca's success.

He is a much better person and a very good team man.......

LiverBird

He is without a doubt, one of the best RB's in the world. But still an embarrassment. Just watch him closely tonight. Nick.

He's not dived or anything so far, unlike Drogba.

I would like to give my opinion on the Flanagan posts.Flanno, should be loaned out for a season or two and gain the experience playing regular games would bring. He certainly has the ability to succeed as a liverpool regular. At this present time,it is a case of him trying to hard to impress.I remember watching a a Jay Spearing interview, and him saying that he went out at Anfield to get the fans on side, by making big tackles. This in my opinion has been Flanno's undoing. We all like to see commitment, but in this day and age, big tackles, get yellow cards.I hope he gets a loan and learn his trade, then comes back for an illustrious Liverpool career.

Jiminy Cricket

Some people are thrown into a a situation they are not good enough/ready for, they make mistakes, which sets them back even further. Yes, he should go on loan and get experience, but I doubt he will be back. Good young player, but unlikely to get to the level we need. Best to him.

Spot on Jimmy.

Good balanced argument and i hope you are right. I was probably wrong to judge Flanagan so harshly.

So infuriated about the allocation for the FA Cup final. 25'000 each in a 90'000 seater stadium is disgusting! I thought football was the people's game?

I only managed to get to Brighton and the Semi so I don't deserve a ticket. But I have a mate that went to every single FA Cup game and chances are he will not get a Final ticket, because the FA want their buddies there!

Stone YNWA.

It's a scandal mate!
ANFIELDPETE

So Liverpool are allocated 25,000 and Chelsea 25,000 what about the other 40,000 seats? Do the F.A give them away for free to sponsors and so on?
Lpoolkris

Its a discrace, its even worse for CL final allocation, remember Athens ?

It is a joke, but it's nothing new. I think all the clubs get some tickets, & obviously the major sponsors would get a fair amount. I don't know if their is a website for the breakdown! Maybe if it was more transparent. 40,000 is a lot of tickets tho!

The Irish Rover

Me and my da went to every game in this cup run. Fair enough we couldn't go the Carling Cup final because we weren't there at the early rounds, but we were there singing our hearts out at Oldham, United, Stoke etc. and supporting the lads when we thought we were down and out against Everton. I think it's a disgrace that the fans get such a low allocation, those FA suits don't deserve to be there more than my old man

Why would we want to buy Mertasacker??

Mertesacker? For what exactly?

Square tomato

You want to buy Mertesacker?
Do you know anything about football

Chris in Tamworth

Bellamy???????

DaveyBootle

Fair enough, but Mertesacker is dreadful- slow as hell- he has all the same attributes that are making people question Carra's place in the first team. Also, if we sign someone like Mertesacker, we may as well just tell Coates to find another club. If Carra goes, Coates should be 3rd choice CB with someone like Wisdom/Kelly/Wilson coming in as 4th choice imo.

Also, Bellamy has been outstanding this season, has just one more year on his contract anyway, it would be daft to sell him this summer.

However I do agree with letting Kuyt go and bringing in Muniain if at all possible. But personally I think fans need to let go of the idea of bringing Alonso back, for now at least- Real don't exactly appear to want him out the door. Whilst ever he's a key player for them, it's an utter non-starter.

But lastly, I don't think you can say we need to give Henderson more chances... he's been as involved as anyone this season.

DP

Mertersacker ?? he makes carra look like usain bolt

So you STILL wouldn't buy a striker??!

I agree on henderson sterling kelly xabi alonso and chris in tamworth you know nothing about foot ball so shut up

Reply to The Liverbird 's post

Agree with you, I don't know why people rate Flanagan this high, may be he performed well in that Man City match we won. I rate Mendy & McLauglhin ahead of him.

I don't think it would be wise to sell Johnson and say Kelly & Flanagan for RB.
Kelly is very much injury prone & Flanno is a liability when he is on the pitch.

Johnson is one of the best RB in the league & if we let him leave I think thats gonna effect significantly if don't buy a quality replacement. Johnson is not only a rb he can play very well at lb too.. so if Johnson leaves, & Enrique gets injured we would be in trouble as we arent successful at playing CB at fullback positions.

Yes if Johnson wage is that much high than we can cash on him but if we want to improve thats a step backwards. That weakens our squad.

Unless we cant get a young player similar to Johnson [Isla] who is versatile enough to cover both the fullback positions it would be not wise to let Johnson leave & putt Flanagan in his position.

Bosco

Good to know I'm not alone. People were trying to shut me down saying I am being unfair on the young players but wtf I'm not judging them at 18 or calling for sterling to play in the first team. Of course they will get better with time. I simply just think we have too many right backs for next season and was thinking who may leave/go on loan.

Just like to say a big Thank You to Lee YNWA, Tekneek and Indian Scouser for their kind words about my son and his future...Cheers Guys means a lot.

The Bailiff

I'm guessing nobody answered your question.
At your son's age, it is better to develop the fundamentals ( first touch, shooting, passing, dribbling ) and his desire to play football. There is no such thing as to much desire. The more the better.if your son is in an Sunday league( I'm guessing that's what they use in britian) and is enjoying it; let him play there. It is better to let him enjoy football with his mates. When he joins a club academy, the training will be intense and without a major build up of desire he will want to quit ( it happens to even the biggest football fans ). Your son should practice at home daily with his father, and go to practices for a non academy organized team 2-3 times a week for an hour. After a year or so, if he's not practicing football at home without you telling him to, he needs to wait another year before joining a academy team. Around age 10 the tatical part of the game will come ( your son already being skilled in technical aspects ) should already be in an academy. Already have been there for like 4+ months to make friends and start enjoying it more.

Ps. Don't put him in a very small local academy, wait till a semi- pro club gets him

Just watched a re run of the Semi Final and Andy's goal if you get a chance watch it again and ask yourself - What the hell was Fellaini looking at when the ball was in the back of the net?

I think you should get out more mate

He was looking for the ball,You would think the lfc fans cheering would of told him where the ball was :)

Get out more - really - even the muggers go around in 2s here - my friend.

Ya man even i watched it several times and kept wondering fello was like "Wheres the ball , where am i? "

i dont understand why people are so set on us buying premier league proven players..? suarez, torres, alonso, lucas, kuyt, luis garcia, hyypia, agger, skrtel, arbeloa, reina... list goes on.. all of whom never played a minute of pl football before coming to us.. they didnt do too bad... didnt cost us the world either compared to those bought within the league.
just a thought...

ryan c belfast ynwa

Sauez and torres 45mil for the pair! didnt cost much! .i would love to have a look at your bank account

Totally agree I know some people will tell Diouf etc then You have Konchesky Pennant Downing etc too so called Premier league proven flops, accept or not Premier League quality is quite poor now even below Bundesliga, Bilbao Bayern AC Milan all have proven it in Europe

Torres we sold for 50mln. Had he been in a good form would have been more . Suarez we bought at 23mln. But if he goes in a season or two.(pls no) he will be valued at 30mln+ . Totall 80mln+ which we bought in 45mln. It shows a good deal.

And also they are not avg players both have spl talent . And such players do cost a bit

Can anyone here advise how to make a complaint to the FA without needing to register on their site to do so?

I think it's time action was taken over the horrendous team ticket allocation amounts and the cost of what ever remaining tickets one is lucky enough to get.

The extortionate prices are denying any fan without a bankers salary the chance to follow and support their chosen team.

Maybe a e-petition should be started on the gov website?

Who is with me?

The Crow.

I would sign it Crow mate. The FA are a shower of useless she*p. And I don't think it would be just us LFC fans saying this.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

Good look with that one mate.
The only way they will ever listen is if the fans boycott these big games and I can't see that happening.
They only care about money not about the fans

MIKEY

Theres no point they will never change

Just leave it. You are not the only one/club who gets upset by the FA's decisions and just like everyone else the FA will just ignore you. Save yourself the effort.

I joined the lfc fa cup scheme,I've been to all 5 fa cup games but I'm still not guaranteed a ticket,I have entered my name in the ballot. Zaydan123

Blair mayne, yes other fans would agree with you,but backing liverpool fans?i think your bridges are burnt there

I will join you no problem. we must take action on this. 25,074 tickets from approximately 90,000. the prices are scandalous. The clubs need to back us up as well. Also the train situation needs to be addressed. the FA new of the maintenance 18 months ago they could have chose a different date to play the final.
Red Robin.

It's not about backing LFC fans, unnamed poster. It's about all of us as football fans (no matter who you support) telling the FA they are useless.

I'll give you a recent example of how useless they are. Shaun Derrys red card was not rescinded, when Ashley Young dove and got him sent off. In the same weekend, Balotelli made a leg breaking tackle on Song. And after reading the refs report and watching the replays of the game. Balotelli walked away scot free.

The FA and the English media continue to criticise FIFA. When the truth is, they are no better.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

Hmm wasnt much back up for chelsea regarding f.a. cup semi,s date fiasco.quite the opposite in fact, they got the 2 fingered salute from most liverpool fans

Of course you are perfectly correct Blair.
The FA are nothing but a bunch of old school tie brigade

The fact that they have criticised FIFA recently is laughable considering they were complicit with almost everything FIFA did for years (again while it suited them). It especially cracks me up when I hear ex FA men come out in the media and criticise the current FA members when actually they did nothing about anything while they were in a position to do so!
Snouts in the trough

We've got other things on our mind on the 15th of April, unnamed poster. That was a stupid comment imo.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

Couldn't agree more mate.
I'm a season-ticket holder and a supporter of over 30-odd years. Because of work-commitments I couldn't go to the Stoke game....because of that I didn't qualify for the Semi-Final and never got a ticket through the ballot. That already precludes me from a Final ticket. Wembley holds 90,000 and I can't get a ticket!...Liverpool and Chelsea's combined average attendances would comfortably fit into that stadium but a great many true fans (the same ones who'll be expected to cough up thousands again next season) will miss out. Why?...because of the complete inadequacy and disregard for the true fans the FA demonstrates every year.
A third of the people in that stadium in May will be "guests"....the "others". Fans of neither Liverpool or the Plastic-Flaggers.
The people who run this game of ours are corrupt, unfit for purpose and embarrassing.
The FA, Premier League, LMA, PFA etc. are all feeding from the same trough....Sky mainly but the billions generated globally from our football (the people's game) have led to a complacency beyond belief amongst the "top brass".
The game is suffering in this country and when Barcelona bitch-whip the Plastics tonight the gulf will be highlighted even further.
----The number of football coaches in this country is about 10% of what it is in Spain.
----The number of Clubs under foreign-ownership in England is considerably greater than in all of our "competitors".
A shift in popularity of English clubs (another couple of seasons like this one) could see revenue plummet and Arabs, Yanks and Russians taking their money elsewhere.
------The standard of refereeing in this country is a joke!...Getting into refereeing seems to be like getting into the Masons. Let's encourage coaching and refereeing so it's accessible to all.
-----Gordon Taylor and Clark Carlisle do absolutely nothing to improve the game in England. Within a billion-pound a year industry we have these two muppets who are, basically, very very weak reps.
The morose Taylor takes longer to spurt his sh!te than it takes me to drive to work and Clark Carlilse just sides with black players regardless......predictable and wrong!
The Premier League boss is so good at his job he managed to arrogantly proclaim England as masters of the World before leaping into the pool pissed......in a Moslem country!!.....You couldn't make it up!
The "National Stadium" has to be paid for but I'll be damned if I'm going to foot the bill for a few La-de-dah rich-f***ers to eat duck livers on toast and drink champagne surrounded by naked Russian slave-women before watching a game of football they couldn't give a toss about.
FA Cup Final? .......Try business meeting.
ANFIELDPETE (Extremely pissed-off!!)

We all feel the same about the FA , so why not boycott the final its the only way they will listen , an half empty wembley will speak louder than any complaint, as ive posted before , the owners of liverpool fc should get very big screens in anfield and sell tickets for that , then that way more liverpool fans can watch the final with a great atmosphere , its just a thought but a good one ,,,,,,mickey b

Same in 65 but we only got 15,000 tickets, and so did leeds , seven and six to get in.

Your right Mickey b, I've been to all FA cup games, in fact the only games I've missed thus season are Spurs, Arsenal an Fulham away and I'm not guaranteed a ticket. The only way to protest would be to boycott the match and let the corporate bas***s have their business meetings.

Hi Eds & Reds,

Just a thought on the younger players in the squad, I think with the league been a dead rubber as it stands, maybe the likes of Silva, Sterling, Coady could be given run outs.

Now this also poses the question - are they ready?, well lets be fair, if your good enough your old enough, yes they will make mistakes, but Carra and Stevie G did at that age as well, they didnt turn out too bad did they?

Rebel_Red

Well said m8, season is dead and buried so with 4 or 5 games left we may as well give them a start or at least 30 mins each game, Wenger and Fergie do it so its about time we do as we have some very promising youngster, and if they ain't getting a chance they may well be snapped up by another club and be world class, remember Sturridge of M.Cty wasn't getting game time so Chelsea snapped him up for a mere £3m through a tribunal and now he is worth potentially £20m...

BigD

I agree mate, in particular in relation to Sterling, id give him 30 mins instead of Hendo on the right, the lad has blistering pace.

Id also like to see Morgan get a run out. Say if Morgan,Coady,Silva and Sterling each got half an hour or so here or there before the end of the season it would do them the world of good.

Rebel_Red

Yea play them all now so when they have a poor game you can say how crap our kids are, like poor old flanno against Bburn.

anyone else see revista la liga last night an hear guilleme balague say he wouldnt be surprised if guardiola ended up at liverpool. I stress he only said "it wouldnt surprise him" not that it was gonna happen, he said that he reckons guardiola wants to "take the barcelona model to another club"

eds do you know what his relationship was like with bergeristan while he was there?

wishful thinking probably but if we brought in bergeristan, already have borrell and segura and i believe pep has already said that we have the best youth setup outside of barca then what are your thoughts eds? can you see it being a possibility?

Cheers :)

The thing is Balague likes to spread gossip, because that's what his job his and he makes his money by talking.
It would make sense that a manager is attracted to the 'project' at Liverpool, because any manager that would win the League for us in the next 5 years or so would become an absolute legend across the world, because of history and what it would mean.
But Balague just talks anything, that's why when he he said Torres wanted to leave last January, nobody took him seriously even though he was right, like the boy who cried wolf.
Pep is quite unpredictable though, he might want a new job one month, then decide he's tired and wants something different, or time off. He'll probably stay with Barca, mostly because of his family history and connections there.
A pinch of salt, but not out of the question I'd say, Txiki would make it interesting, but I wouldn't be a fan of completely copying one club's other philosophy and system. We should do things the Liverpool way.

How about showing a bit of class and support for your manager who has taken us to wembley 3 times in what will be 4 months, insted of speculating about new managers as if he has been sacked.

Waro

Agree with the poster above.
Also its all well and good trying to copy a style, but Pep would need years to get the right players. The team just isnt the same sort to do that. You cater more for a long ball/counter attack play.

Downing
Caroll
Bellamy
Suarez

These arent the great passers that you need.

Finally, Keep in mind, Pep never signs a new contract untill the end of the season and always gets 1 year extensions. Incase anyone wonders why, its largely down to two things, 1: Incase he has a bad season he wont get replaced, and secondly. The players don't know if he stays or goes at anytime so they dont get worried when he hasnt signed a contract again. *see old Arry for an example.

NG

I watched Revista last night mate and i'm pretty sure Balague was talking about Bergeristan. Because Bergeristan did an interview with Balague, for Revista. It's the 1st interview Bergeristan has did since he left Barca, in 2010.

Pep, will probably sign a new deal with Barca.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

He was talking about Tixi Begiristain not guardiola.

Guadiola nearly signed as a player houlier wanted him as a player and coach

My bad, i only tuned in halfway through and assumed he was talkin bout guardiola i didnt see the interview with bergeristan before it, still he wouldnt be bad as director of football :)

oh no rumours going round that we are after kalou .....well lord help us if thats the sort of quality we are going after in the summer ggggggrrrrr

Mate Kalou is too good for you, he could get somewhere like Everton or Villa

SHED END

Wouldn't take anyone from chelsea tbh, maybe cech i guess if jones doni and reina all get sent off in next few games..

They're the ones who buy our players to 'try' and improve, or rather, find a way to beat us!

Zenden - No. - Middlesborough

Hateley, Spackman and Speedie are a little dated and not really relevant to the 'Roman' Empire...I was kinda referring to 'direct' transfers etc.

Nice to know you took interest in my reply Ed002(and you know your history! ;)

Lee YNWA
{Ed002's Note - If you were considering moving directly you should have said. Joe Cole? What difference does it make anyway?}

I just re-read my comment and hold my hands up Ed002. I said 'ever' so I'll take my medicine.

Lee YNWA {Ed002's Note - Lee, I can't see that it matters. It is only a game.}

Ed002 - Apologies for a pointless debate.

Was only answering the initial op and Shed.

It's not just a game tho Ed, it's a RELIGION.

Lee YNWA {Ed002's Note - No need to apologise Lee.}

I think Kalou's really underrated and would add some of the pace vastly lacking from the squad on the cheap. He's not the best on the ball and may not create much himself but he's a damn site faster than Henderson or Kuyt for the right wing and got a better end product than Walcott

can anyone tell me if marco reus is a striker or not ? he seems to be scoring freely in germany

Great question. I argue with my German house mate all the time about Reus.

I say he's an attacking midfielder played out of position. My flat mate say he's a winger and that it is common knowledge.

He plays as a second striker currently, but it's not his natural position. He played as a central midfielder for Ahlen for two seasons before moving to Gladbach, but he is going back to Dortmund, where he was born, and started in their youth team .

The question of the ages goes on....

Marco Reus is an attacking midfielder who currently plays for Borussia Monchengladbach, but who will be transferring to Borussia Dortmund, (he was born in Dortmund), in the summer.

Does anyone else think Flanagan is not as good as we thought he was...long term I just don't think he will make our first team.

1) No space for him currently in the first team sqaud. Johnson and Kelly are miles ahead of him.
2) In terms of youth Mclaughlin is a far better prospect and he would benefit massively if promoted to the reserves next season. Mendy would also provide cover if there is another Nextgen series, leaving Flanagan in a state of limbo.
3) Most importantly Flanagan can only play fullback and he lacks three key attributes a fullback needs: pace, passing ability and composure on the ball. ( Trust me I watch him a lot even for England u19's ) He looks so uncomfortable on the ball and I only need to watch Carra at right back to see what this would be like long term in our team i.e. a liability.

I struggle to see how people are saying Johnson should leave and Kelly and Flanagan should be our 1st team RB's next season. Johnson is overpaid yes but his contribution to the team is underated.

I think for the sake of his career he should build a career somewhere else instead of just being a reserve squad player. I know he is still young but he could benefit from playing first team football elsewhere and look to build a future there. He looks average at best in terms of a prospect for LFC and we need better prospects than him if our long term goals about the academy are to be reached. To put things into perspective think about how martin kelly was performing at this age. ( The lyon game at anfield comes to mind...)

Anyone agree? I open to debate I could easily be wrong...

The Liverbird

Give the boy a chance! He is still only young
LeeWils

Agreed Johnson is 1 of best right backs in league need to keep best players if we want to progress past a mid table finish

Kelly will be moved to cd at some point, and ur joking surely he is just a boy he has made 1 mistake and you rats jump on his back.
the same posters tht shout for sterling to be give game time.i would hate for sterling to be given game time at mo with people like yous i mistake and you lot are ready to pounce.remember theres are kids give them time ffs.
mrbrown

A loan move next season is what he and a few of our youngsters need. Regular 1st team football in a more competitive environment than the Reserve League but not as pressurised as the Premier League. He showed last season vs Man City he could be a good player for us, but he hasn't played enough football to really push on. He is still young and its far too early to write him off!

RedSG

Another youngster gets a few games to impress only to be shot down as a failure by the unforgiving fans who want to see more young players given a chance. {Ed002's Note - This is one of the problems that comes with playing the youngsters before they are ready.}

Because he had one bad game for us you're writing off his career already? he is young and will learn from his mistake.
Mclaughlin is the 'far better prospect' because he's yet to have a chance for us fans to tear him apart yet after a first team error. Give the lad a break, he was good for us in the tail end of last season when we needed him.

Also you say he can only play full back, i may be wrong in this but have i heard he's been played in central midfield a couple of times?

x

He's had more good games than bad and he's young. Im not sure if you are saying Carra was a liability at RB, if so you are way off there mate.

Flanagan is still an extremely young guy, we have to remember that he came into the first team last season probably before he was ready, and really stepped up for us. His tackling at times was fantastic but I agree that a few times this season his inexperience has shown.

This time last season supporters were claiming he was going to be a very solid player in five years or so, and I don't understand how, after a couple of poor games, he's not good enough. As supporters of the club and players we need to SUPPORT the youngsters, he's under enough pressure as it is and doesn't need us pointing out every little mistake he makes.

RO YNWA

Very unfair on Flanagan. I wouldn't be suprised to see him go on loan for a period next season, perhaps to someone like Blackpool, just to gain confidence and to beef him up a bit.

Just wanted to clarify that I meant in the eyes of some of the supporters he's not good enough, and not that I don't think he is good enough. I'm of the opinion that he'll become an excellent full back, and possibly a season out on loan would do him the world of good.

RO YNWA

He is 19 years old and really scouse , therefore he can stick around for a few years yet and keep improving - no problems .

Qwerty

Good job hes not a horse or he be shot by some[ thick fans ] sorrry the top scouts
red rrab

The fact is the step from reserve football to 1st team football is to big for most footballers, except the few that are exceptionally talented. Where the club is falling short is getting them loaned out as soon as possible to a team where they are guaranteed first team football. There's no doubt that Flanagan should've been loaned out to a smaller premier league side at the beginning of the season, which would've been a greater benefit then playing reserves at this stage of his career

He is pretty average like spearing and adam.

Loan him out to a Bolton or Wigan next season, would benefit him greatly to have consistent football

What difference does it make where it was won and how many times In the last decade? What matters is may the 5th we will have beaten you 3 times this season, and have 2 more trophys in the cabinet than you !!

G BOX

Your out on deep water, Barca needs one of theyr 11 players to preform and beat you lot..

And how many trophies you said you had?

Well when it wasn't at wembley we went and won it at Cardiff instead!

To the original poster....

Probably just motdf but I really think Gylfi Sigurdsson could be a perfect signing for us, provided it's not at the expense of plugging other gaps in the squad. We'll be playing Lucas and Gerrard when fit, but Adam has been a disappointment going forward and I think we're still lacking an attacking midfielder in the squad - a gap left by the departure of Meireles. Sigurdsson's young, he's good on the ball, got a bit of skill and he's certainly got a goal in him. I'm hoping this could come to fruition, he'd be cheap and he must have pretty impressive stats, so maybe a realistic option eds?

Red Ollie {Ed001's Note - I don't see the point, I would rather see Suso given the opportunity to impress, I don't see anything in Sigurdsson that Suso couldn't do better.}

Not good enough Swansea bout his level

Have to agree with the Ed here, we have our own players who could do the same job. Suso and Shelvey are better long term prospects than Sigurdsson.

RedSG

Agree with the ed on that one, suso should be given some game time i think

Sleepless nights yet lads?, bet you're all pulling you moustaches off with nerves, i wouldnt worry there is no shame in getting beaten in a Final by the UCL 2012 winners ;), you hang on in there

SHED END

Don't know where to begin.........

John

Please keep this coming dreamer We had all this from BLUE247 before the semi final.
Its you whose having the sleepness nights cause your always on here and as for you lot being UCL champs well that says it all dreamer ! Keep waving your plastic flags you plastic dreamer.

Not really shed end mate , as we have played in london more times than you have this season ,ha...............lfc

Cant wait for tonight's footballing lesson.
Maybe we wont hear from you for a while when Messi puts 3 past you.

The last 3 games against Chelsea in London ended in a Liverpool victory. This will be no different.

Kenny's got your measure lad.

P.S. See you in the Europa league.

The FA don't put flags on your seats so you won't know who your are there to support

Yet again shedie over here embarasses himself...

I hope you beat barca, i hope barca lose because of the play acting antics of the likes of iniesta and busquets, so you go out, play really well, stop messi, get to the final and get beat off a far superior munich side, because lets face it, we've got more chance of winning the CL than you

Beat off? that's weird

Magical messi will tear you apart.....yet again!

Said it once, I'll say it again... WELLITON is an absolute gem for any side and simply cannot understand why he has never represented his home nation, Brazil. Perhaps many are yet to realize his abilities because of playing in Russia. Mark my words, but if he were to come to Liverpool, he'd score plenty of goals and silence the critics of Liverpool. All the best to him.

Hi, eds. I was wondering, who is the scout in west ham,who signed tevez, mascherano and benayoun?
guess he did a good job and is he linked with us?

Bit late with this but just thought I'd congratulate all the Plasic Chavs on finally agreeing that, when the referee says the ball is over the line, it's a goal- even when, as in their case, the team captain acknowledges STOPPING the ball form doing so.

True sportsmanship at last.

(And, yes, Garcis's was over the line!!)

I dont see the rest of the liverpool team going up to the ref in true sportsmanship style when gerrard, saurez carrol, belamy and the rest dive and get penalties, funny that, people in glass houses shouldnt throw stones or in your case people in darkened rooms shouldnt throw stones in case it bounces of a wall and hits you on the head, but i suppose you can always blame it on someone else in true liverpool fashion lol

Yeah like Suarez' handball at the world cup - if he did that at Liverpool they'd all hold their hands up to the ref wouldnt they!

When will we find out who our next DOF is, I saw some guy say, that we are not gonna have one because, when KK, is gonna stand for transfers etc...

If you ask me I would LOOVE to see Rafa as our DOF, with him, we almost signed Silva, Villa and those kinds of players!

Surely we want someone who will ACTUALLY sign these players!

Cp

With decent owners he would sign "kwalitie"

Yes but he did sign Degan, vorinin, Pennant, josemi, Nunez, Gonzalez...so maybe not

Ha the above post is ace

Kromkamp, el zhar, dozzena, intandje, cavaleri, javanovic

I dont agree with u mate. Who said *but then he also signed degan n al zar and all.
He dindt signed any of them he compromised i would say. Had he given money damn sure aguero, silva, villa, etc not all but s ome one would have been here at least.
N when a m anager spends 5 yr at a club there would be bad signings considering the owners we had.
But it was rafa who gave us the best midfield trio of sg,-mascho.-alonso., also torres.

Liverpool have been linked with three targets which would see four players at the club share two names next season. Could such a quirky occurrence happen?

Do Liverpool have a bright future?

That is the question fans desperately want to know, after suffering numerous inadequate showing from the team this season.

It is clear, irrespective of cup success, that Kenny Dalglish's squad is not up to scratch and in need of new faces.

Who, is a matter of conjecture at this point, and there have been several interesting names linked with a summer transfer.

In recent days there have been a Spaniard and a Mexican, both by the surname of Herrera.

Lesser known is Mexican winger Hector Herrera, 22, who plays across the Atlantic for Pachuca.

He told television stations in his own country he had met with a Liverpool scout, while the club's director admitted they have some sort of 'first option' deal with Liverpool should they choose to sell.

More well known, but still very much considered a prospect at this early stage of the year is Ander Herrera of Athletic Bilbao.

Herrera has been likened to a 'Spanish Gerrard' and helped Bilbao take Manchester United apart over two legs last month.

He scored for Spain's under-21 side against England last season, on their route to tournament success. He would be more affordable than his also highly-rated teammate Javi Martinez, with figures of £15 million mooted.

The sticking point from Liverpool's point of view is the reported interest from both Manchester United and Manchester City, which makes any deal more complicated than the prospective capture of his namesake Hector.

The Latin pair would absolutely inject new life into Liverpool's squad, who could do with a new winger and a new central midfielder.

Interestingly they could be not the only duo sharing the same name in Liverpool's attack next season.

Luis Suarez, who recently announced his intention to stay at the club- distancing himself from PSG rumours- could be joined by Argentine Matias Suarez.

Suarez is a striker who can play on the wing, and is just 23. He currently plays for Belgian club Anderlecht and has also been linked with signing for Arsenal.

A report in the Mirror at the end of last month claimed Liverpool are leading the chase for his summer signature, but no less than 15 clubs are monitoring him.

Whether the club can pull off transfers for all three remains to be seen, as much as whether having four players sharing two names will be a commentator's nightmare or make their job easier.

Id like to see us sign Lucas Moura too.

Hi eds,is there possibility we wont be buying any british players.cause im tired of seeing overpriced british players who has rarely prove their selves(ie caroll, adam, downing, henderson)

Some seriously deluded 'fans' on here. Since when did this website become "Ask the Ed's" ....post transfer rumours and stop asking silly questions. Some of you linking us with Europes elite need to get a grip on reality... i.e Robben. Why would he come to Liverpool when he's one step away from the CL Final with Bayern?

Also, I don't see why Kenny is going to lose his job. The owners have already voiced their support for him. Yes we have had a bad run in the league recently but we've won the Carling Cup, got to the FA Cup Final and we're back in Europe. We were never going to get 4th place this year and if you thought we were, you were dreaming. Kenny is rebuilding the mess that Hodgson and Rafa left. The owners will be expecting CL Qualification next year though. Minimum.

Kenny will be trying to get Fletcher from Wolves on the cheap if they go down. He'll be looking at getting some quality out wide too. I don't think he wants to lose Johnson, but if he does, he won't be too worried as Kelly is ready to step in and Flanno is a fantastic backup.

Suarez will stay.

Paragraph 1 agree
paragraphs 2/3 disagree

I agree that suggestions of Gomez, Robben etc are wide of the mark - there are certain clubs whose players would simply be very unlikely to join us right now. But I disagree that the alternative to looking at such players is poaching players from relegated clubs, eg/ Fletcher. There are plenty of first rate players from less accomplished teams who would be perfectly likely to join us given the chance - Soldado, Ramirez, De Jong, Matias Suarez, to name but a few.

Red Ollie

Other first-rate players from less accomplished clubs: Juan Mata, Gareth Bale....

You say you wouldn't want players from any relegated clubs but I would love to see victor Moses come to Liverpool..

Kind regards

The southern red

Hi eds, great site.

Im going to get slated for saying this i believe, and it will never happen but, every time i watch a interview with paul di canio, he just makes so much sense.
He is passionate and makes everything about the fans, even if they are swindon, no due respect.
Could he ever be involved with lfc eds?

Ben the Red {Ed001's Note - I hope not! I would hate to have someone who makes Thatcher look like a communist in charge of the club.}

Lol ed. But tacticaly he is good, and not afraid of upsetting people and looks after the fans. I dunno, i guess he is just my guilty pleasure.
Ben the Red {Ed001's Note - sorry but I wouldn't trust him, he has hardly proven himself tactically yet. He has a very big budget for the division he is in, no thank you, he would just cause us grief.}

Am I right in saying that while playing for Lazio (famously fascist club from Mussolini era?) he made a fascist salute as a celebration?

maka {Ed001's Note - yes, amongst numerous other things.}

Any chance in messi I heard he's s Liverpool fan like pennant keane oh an Barry! Bulls**t!! We need some academy players born bred Liverpudlians with a heart to want to play for Liverpool because they love the club the city the people not because the money £££! It's about time scouts start going local there's plenty of talent out there being wasted because of foreign scouts in Britain! Let's start lookin round local areas such as L4 postcode L8 Postcode not las argueue (no such place) in Colombia! But you get my drift! Not arsed about England but it's why we are so s**te! We don't have enough talent being watched! Who's with me?

The problem with homegrown talent is they get in the team when they dont deserve to and hold the team back and halt any progress
I'm talking about spearing and car ragged mainly
Average to bad players who wouldn't be anywhere near the team if not scouse

Cp

How many of the homegrown talent are actually that good?

I cant understand some people on here. why are you taking a dig at spearing. he has done well this season and he will only get better with more playing time.

That's why we don't need homegrown players!!
Nothing personal but he is nowewhere near good enough for a top 4 team
Take the blinkers off dude

Cp

Do like Arsenal, and buy top quality talents who can come in the first team.
Danieldenmark

Spearing does the job lay off him

Spearing is doing a decent job, but tbh, he isnt liverpool standard. With marc pelosi n coady coming through, its pretty obvious spearing is on borrowed time.
Indian Buzzer

Liverpool does hav ethe talent just look at the players who have come from the city of liverpool i dont care what anyone says an attack of gerrard and rooney with the dann and carra (at his prime) at cb woul definitely challenge for the league

Have to say Suarez has been an absolute credit to the club since the Evra incident. Whether it happened or not he has smartened up his act and has shown a real positive attitude and commitment to Liverpool. I for one hope he stays and continues to excite the league regardless of those whose continue to boo him.

NeilP

I think he gives the very best defenders nightmares.

WE MUST KEEP HIM!

Only two, maybe three clubs in the world who we could negotiate with(in a few years):

Real M
Barca
Milan

Others of note - PSG, Roma, Juventus can kiss my behind.

Lee YNWA

" credit to the club " is the wrong phrase but he has seemed to have smartened up his act. You hardly see him dive either these days. Maybe the club gave him a bollocking i don't know...

Harry Kewell was in liverpool cavern walks today! I was guna trip him up but instead i said ite Harry he replied 'hi my friend' I was going to tell him that he was not my friend and that if he ever called me that again I would give his wife a good seeing too! But instead i said 'giz a tenner' he replied 'no!' so I gave him the finger :( fookin budgie smuggler :@

So you're saying you insulted a man that was being polite to a person who said "hi"?

Well done

LT!

Your a moron!

LFC 1892

All i read into this, is your a hobo who asked Harry Kewell, a man who served your club proudly to give you $10 and he didnt so you gave him the finger? If i saw you on the street ask to 'giz a tenner' I would punch you in the head.

Harry is in Melbourne atm aswell last time I checked.

Melbourne CFC

Why post this, what an absolute tool.
