Ed025 if u were a gambling man do u think keita will sign.

Believable6 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i am very much a gambling man brett and if i had not put all my dosh i the roulette machine i would be putting it on him to be a red next season mate.. :)

17 Jul 2017 23:31:04
Gentleman.

18 Jul 2017 07:07:36
He didn't say which red lol.

17 Jul 2017 22:49:44
Give Robertson a chance, he's left footed which for us improves us straight away while attacking and widening the pitch, no more stopping and turning back on to his right foot etc. staunton arrived many moons ago as raw a player as you could get but with proper coaching and a football brain turned into the ast decent left full we had. give the boy a chance and get behind him.

Great post mate!

18 Jul 2017 00:51:51
Cheers mate.

18 Jul 2017 08:28:01
Is right!

18 Jul 2017 09:15:11
Grow up, Peter.

17 Jul 2017 22:32:12
Whatever happens with any new signings coming or not, I have started to get that belly tingling feeling of the start of the new season. It's still too far away to get over excited, but it's now within reach.

I love the break in the season to take stock of the previous campaign and look forward to welcoming new and saying farewell to the old.

We are very lucky to be part of the best league in the world. I'm Liverpool through and through, my blood smells of Anfield on match day and all I want is to be part of those in the stands again this season chanting the words of You'll never Walk Alone"

Bring on the first home game and bring on the Red Men!

Liverpool FC FOR LIFE!
Amen!

{Ed025's Note - wheres that sick bag?.. :)

17 Jul 2017 22:45:20
Bit cringe.

17 Jul 2017 23:19:03
Thats not cringe. that's passion. Love it tilly.

17 Jul 2017 23:49:39
Its time someone told Brendan Rodgers its over.

And not to be posting under Tillys name.

17 Jul 2017 22:52:56
welsh, he makes a decent post, and you slate him.

17 Jul 2017 22:30:12
A quote from what RBL are saying.

""It's a huge compliment for us that we awoke such desires, but it's not the general idea of our path to allow players a transfer following the first available offer, " said Leipzig head coach Ralph Hasenhuttl""

I guess it's just down to us as a club really, I really don't want us to waste time on him if we're going to arse around with the fee, they know what they want, we "know" what they want from us, It's literally black and white.

Why do we do this.
LFC knew they wouldn't take 57mil like we know we wouldn't accept X amount for Sakho. It's embarrassing.

Believable3 Unbelievable8

17 Jul 2017 22:53:49
My mate just text me about transfers, he's frustrated:
"Money talks and bull---- walks. Liverpool need to do more talking and less walking".
😁 Bless.

17 Jul 2017 23:53:30
I suspect its all part of the dance,

RBL want to be seen holding us off and driving up the price.

We want to be seen showing ambition and commitment to the player.

17 Jul 2017 22:18:24
Question for Ed one if I may please.
When I was about 14/ 15 so quite some time ago, I remember it being reported that we were bang on to sign Damien Duff (he was at Blackburn then) .
Was this ever a transfer? and if so any idea why it didn't happen.
Appreciate it was a while back, or even that it wasn't actually true. Just curious.
Thanks in advance.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

17 Jul 2017 23:00:18
Seem to remember it's when Chelski first come into money and I'm guessing we put X on the table and Chelsea would say well give you X plus a extra 15% money talks.

17 Jul 2017 23:28:36
We decided it was better to invest the money in that scum bag el hadji Diouf and his side kick Salif Diao, Duff was twice as good as the 2 of them combined another great bit of business not!

18 Jul 2017 00:14:40
Always thought duff could of been a good signing. It was always him and Brett Emerton we were linked with.

17 Jul 2017 19:43:23
Hi Eds, can I ask is there any reason at all as to why Lucas hasn't had or doesn't appear to be getting a testimonial? I love Lucas and I'm genuinely sad to see him go, would have thought you would have been a nice touch on our part. Cheers!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i dont know mate to be honest..

17 Jul 2017 22:43:34
I believe that he will, he has to.

18 Jul 2017 14:13:46
Has he been at the club for 10 seasons? I think that's the normal criteria for a testimonial these days. It would excellent if he got one. What a great servant he has been to the club.

Red Sandman.

17 Jul 2017 20:49:18
Kieta vs Kante - who's better video! They look so similar!

Believable5 Unbelievable2

17 Jul 2017 21:20:26
Keita wins 👍🏼.

17 Jul 2017 21:22:56
Imagine both in centre mid.

17 Jul 2017 21:27:15
Thanks for the share. I really really like Keita (I'm sure people know that already if they've seen my posts), he's got everything except height but Kante doesn't exactly suffer from his height (or rather lack of it) .

17 Jul 2017 21:37:55
I've got to think that, if we do actually get this deal over the line for somewhere around 60m, then, in this market, I don't think that's too bad a deal. Most people reckon that Kante in this market would fetch 50m. Keita is untested in the EPL, but is considerably younger.

Add to that his team don't want to sell him, and any deal around 60m looks reasonable.

I'm going to have to lie down now, never thought I'd use the words "60m" and "reasonable" in relation to a transfer fee!

17 Jul 2017 21:41:35
Wow, he looks special. Can dribble, tackle and pass. Looks quick and strong too. But would Chelsea sell to us?

17 Jul 2017 21:47:08
Really hope they can get this deal done.

17 Jul 2017 21:48:09
If you are still not convinced after watching this video, then GOD help you! This player will take us to heights!

17 Jul 2017 22:16:36
Both in midfield?
Good at 5-a-side, but you could just chip it over them 😁
They're both about 5 foot.

17 Jul 2017 23:37:44
Completely different midfielders, but both class.

{Ed025's Note - a poster on here before stated that jordan henderson is better than keita CFC.....but he has now been captured and put in a rubber room for his own safety mate.. :)

Ed025, whereareya son?

{Ed025's Note - back now mate..

17 Jul 2017 19:09:37
Just seen an article on Juan Bernat and he could be available from Bayern. Still only 24 and has years in him, versatile and from what I remember of him he was a good player.

I think he only has two years on his contract remaining. Can play both left back and left wing would be a good squad player/ starter for the right fee.

Just a thought.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

17 Jul 2017 19:32:22
I'd take him, quick and quality going forward.

17 Jul 2017 21:33:32
Brandt left back? Not sure about that 🤔.

17 Jul 2017 19:08:16
The order in which we sign players is determined by the selling club. I am sure defence is our top priority. However it's proving difficult to get the players we want. Salad was signed first because he was available. If we'd waited until we sorted defence he would have long gone.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

17 Jul 2017 19:47:25
salad wassigned because we don't want the players getting fat like rooney.

17 Jul 2017 20:44:08
Salad.? Yumeee!

17 Jul 2017 21:31:29
Salad is alright in summer, but in winter you need a meat 'n' Keita pie.

I'll get me coat.

17 Jul 2017 21:37:27
It's this time of year I'm all about salad. Think it's the heat.

17 Jul 2017 21:38:33
You don't sign salad, You eat it.

17 Jul 2017 21:53:56
The irony of a Pieman talking about Salad, lol!

17 Jul 2017 17:51:48
Was hoping we'd have prioritised the poor defense by now. Keita may be a good player but he's not going to fix the huge amount of easy goals we ship every season. Top fullbacks and at least one top CB in my opinion should be the priority. Not another midfielder.
I know it's early days but I would have thought getting your priority really weak positions fixed would be a no brainer.
Thoughts?

Believable3 Unbelievable7

17 Jul 2017 18:02:19
I don't disagree, but which left backs are you referring to? Mendy I'll give you, but losing out to City isn't a surprise is it? I must admit, I am shocked at the dearth of full back talent available. VVD is clearly out first choice CB and we look well placed to sign him, despite our idiotic transfer antics.

17 Jul 2017 18:17:31
It isn't only defenders that defend!
If we have someone in front of them that is an exceptional reader of the game and able to read up play- that would be a massive bonus.

Also- it's not just the CBs and FBs that defend set pieces- so the signing of defenders is not am automatic fix.

JK and coaching staff need to put some serious defensive drills on yo get everyone on it.

17 Jul 2017 19:08:42
I think breaking certain teams down last season was as big a problem as our leaky defense. Keita could well be the answer to that, he's a cracking player and would make sense signing him imo.
VVD would be a massive signing for us as well, our defense was at times terrible and he would definitely improve it, i just hope our sillyness hasn't cost us the move.
I really thought we would have used this window to sort out a top quality left back, like you say a no brainer, but that doesn't look likely for some reason. Clyne and TAA can have another crack at RB for me, but to not spend big on a top LB, i just don't get it.

17 Jul 2017 21:26:19
Defending is a team game in Klopp's system. A defence is not great due to the individual talent it has. Cahill is a woeful defender individually but was great alongside Terry, Azpi and Ivanovic as he was part of a unit. That is what we need at present esp. cos our system demands it, IMO.

Mendy had chosen us initially but he wanted about 200k a week, reportedly. If that is the case then City are welcome to him. I've known Mendy since his days at OM and he is very poor defensively but fit the way Monaco plays as they won the league by outscoring their opponents. There are not any good LB's out there unfortunately and personally, I would have liked Ghoulam from Napoli as he is less of a defensive liability than Mendy. Well, Andy Robertson it is then.

17 Jul 2017 22:07:50
We take risks, Why we score in abundance! This has consequences. We concede plenty. VVD and Kieta wil bring much needed stability unit our team.

17 Jul 2017 17:46:50
I was just looking through the squad that has traveled to Hong Kong and was surprised to see that Ovie Ejaria had not been selected.

Do you know why this is, ED001? I thought the lad was highly thought of, selected by Klopp himself, if I remember correctly. But, he is not even going abroad with the rest of the potential youngsters.

Is it in response to that injury he picked up, are they allowing him more time to get back to full fitness at Melwood. Or, has he really fallen down the pecking order.

Although, now that I come to think of it, if Keita does join Ejaria's chances of breaking in will be completely gone. Feel a little sorry for the lad, he looked pretty capable when played.

Thanks in advance ED.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - I don't know sorry. I know a lot were being kept behind to work on fitness issues rather than take them on a long flight.}

17 Jul 2017 21:51:23
It is likely because of the injury he suffered towards the end of last season. Like Ejaria, Ings and Mane who are both fit, didn't travel either.

17 Jul 2017 16:40:41
The only good way to remain involved in football during off season is this site. My favourite thing is to read all the rumours everywhere then coming to this site to verify their validity.
Great job ed's.

Believable9 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - cheers.}

17 Jul 2017 17:48:51
I agree but the same questions are asked of the eds every other question it must do there heads in.

17 Jul 2017 16:34:15
The club want VVD and Keita and that's fair enough but their comes a time when you have to walk away. The worry I have is we will end up with a panic buy or loan ( Caulker) . As the saying goes don't put all your eggs in the one basket.

Believable3 Unbelievable13

17 Jul 2017 17:55:30
The management can't really win with either approach. If we sign our first choices for mega money, it's a waste, or we shouldn't be "putting our eggs in the same basket". If we sign a player further down on our wish list, we're "settling" for second/ third best.

If we sign Keita and VVD, this will be the first time in years we have been willing to really go for our top targets. I'm happy with Salah regardless of where he featured in our wish list.

17 Jul 2017 18:02:28
I am talking about a timeline. If we keep pursuing 2 players that we don't get then 2nd and 3rd choices will be gone by the time we get around to it.

17 Jul 2017 20:08:30
I am not convinced that either will happen tbh. The money being talked is huge considering on current transfer record is around 37mill. But I would think by the beginning on August they would look to have both VVD and Keita done if they are going to happen at all. Plenty of time yet. If not I think they are dead in the water.

17 Jul 2017 21:21:35
It is a fine line that the club is walking. I think the prob is that many of our fans get caught up with what other teams are doing and think we are lagging behind. They seem not to understand that all clubs do what is best for them based on the squad they are building and what they want to achieve. City are buying massively cos Pep has to deliver this season, no but's about it. Utd as well. Spurs haven't even bought a soul yet and I don't see their fans throwing a fit. Also, club's almost never get their first choices as Chelsea (even them and all their money) is now facing that problem right now and when has that ever been a problem? People just need to calm down and trust that our club is doing the job and Klopp knows what is needed.

17 Jul 2017 16:31:17
So what happened to the rumours posted on this site that Robertson was going to sign in the next '3 days' or something like that?

I think it is more a situation of Liverpool having to make space in the squad at this point before adding new faces.

Believable1 Unbelievable12

17 Jul 2017 19:16:51
Did you miss it?
Our transfer business gained momentum last week.
Come on max 😁.

17 Jul 2017 21:23:01
Max, you are aware that a transfer is not concluded the same way you go to a car lot and leave with the car a couple of hours later, right?

17 Jul 2017 14:56:14
Ed01/ 25 Has Klopp been impressed by Kent? Seems strange we were all talking about Ojo and Wilson coming into the team this season but they have been left back while Kent has been brought on the tour? Do you think that Klopp sees him as an option this season instead of sending him out on loan again?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - Ojo was away with the England youth, hence a longer holiday. No idea about Wilson. Kent is as much about putting him in the shop window I believe.}

17 Jul 2017 15:08:01
Likewise with Solanke and played every game in that tournament where Ojo hardly featured. so there's no reason why Ojo would have a longer holiday, think he's off elsewhere to be honest.

{Ed001's Note - Solanke was not recovering from a serious back injury which has affected him badly.}

17 Jul 2017 15:37:08
Ojo is off on loan that's why he's at home still. He wasn't having a longer holiday the last few weeks of training and the game he played in.

{Ed001's Note - he doesn't want a loan.}

17 Jul 2017 16:12:04
Mad considering Wilson scored 30 goals for the u23s last season. Maybe he's going on loan.

17 Jul 2017 16:47:22
He got injured with wales I thought.

17 Jul 2017 21:23:59
Ojo wants to leave LFC permanently.

17 Jul 2017 14:46:27
The correct exposition of the facts with respect to Nabbe Keita, RBL and LFC.

It is fact that:

a) Liverpool want Keita.

b) Keita wants Liverpool and has informed RBL as such

c) RBL do not want to sell

It is NOT fact that:

a) RBL have set ANY sort of asking price for Keita

b) There's ANY sort of agreement with/ acceptance of bid by RBL

c) Personal terms have been agreed between Keita and LFC

Where we ARE:

a) LFC had a (first) bid rejected by RBL

b) RBL's 'not for sale' stance remains. at least officially anyways, but.

c) LFC nevertheless remain firmly convinced that RBL will deal at the right offering are working hard at that offering. Crucially, RBL know and accept this as well.

d) There has been NO 2nd bid from LFC, although one is expected 'imminently'.

e) Of that offering, the challenge will not so much be the fee as the payment terms, as Ed002 correctly pointed out yesterday.
The pressure will be the structure of the payment. LFC must put forward something acceptable.
The room for negotiation is pretty little. LFC know this.

The VIEW:

a) LFC seriously wants Keita and intend doing what they view as necessary to get deal over the line. RBL's stance is certainly not carved in stone.

b) Keita unlikely to hand in a transfer request. There won't be a need to.

c) It is likely that the deal will happen than not.
LFC working very hard behind closed doors.
But there's no time lines.

Lastly:

Pay little attention to the media reports/ twitter. Much of what you read there is much make-believe and just filling gaps.
Fans are (perhaps understandably) hungry for any sort of good news stories.

Every Tom, Dick and Harry take it upon themselves to be 'ITK' this part of the season. Fat Kid from Bolton phenomenon that Ed002 has warned us about.

Believable6 Unbelievable9

17 Jul 2017 16:50:40
Bit harsh on Harry. 😂.

17 Jul 2017 17:17:05
I think Graeme kelly on twitter is fairly reliable.

Macca on this site is overall very honest and very reliable.

If you take the 2 above opinions and cross check them with what the eds are saying then you won't be too far off.

And if that's the case then Keita is likely to sign as is VVD.

HOPEFULLY.

17 Jul 2017 17:50:56
It's graeme Kelly the fat kid from Bolton? If so what's he done to be considered reliable? As far as I can see he's done nothing more than guess what's going on this summer.

17 Jul 2017 17:59:40
Ok so i will give you the latest on both keita and vvd.

Keita - had a boiled egg for breakfast and a slice of brown bread, he drank coffee as this helps to keep him awake during training and suppress his appetite. He kissed his girlfriend on the left cheek before leaving her to the equivalent of jeremy kyle on german tv.

Vvd- He has been having problems with knots in his hair and scheduled a late session with an Austrian hairdressers to get his perm refreshed. Before training he gave his room mate a serious wedgie that made his baloons swell and was reprimanded for wreckless behaviour. He is frustrated by his non move to lfc and trying all he can to make a general nuisance of himself.

Disclaimer: all of this is complete ballsack but better than reading some of the other itk nonsense. 😊.

17 Jul 2017 14:35:33
Been reading the aguero is being allowed to leave city, I can only assume they have their sights on someone to play up front. Whoever it is must be good as Sergio has been one of best strikers in the league constantly for years. I feel he would work well at Liverpool, has his name been mentioned at all? If he's willing to go to Chelsea he would surely be willing to join us.

Believable2 Unbelievable6

17 Jul 2017 14:50:31
His fee, wages and injury problems would warn me off him. Absolutely class when fit though.

17 Jul 2017 14:57:05
We already have two injury prone stikers we don't need 3.

17 Jul 2017 15:00:11
Personally, I do not think he would suit our style. He couldn't cope with high press and does not work hard enough. Plus we could never afford his wages.

17 Jul 2017 15:30:40
I'm pretty certain they said he wasn't available and will be staying at City.

17 Jul 2017 16:33:29
He is too good but doesn't suit Klopp's style of play unfortunately.

Cheers.

17 Jul 2017 17:21:57
Aguero would be an unbelievable signing for us.

It can't be true. That would be some first team squad. Too good to be true.

Carlsberg don't do transfer windows.

17 Jul 2017 19:21:49
For the money the whole package would cost as in transfer fee, wages, signing on fee, agent fees etc would be a huge financial package. You could probably get Mbappe for less in terms of financial package and a lot younger than Aguero.

Obviously I don't expect either to sign.

17 Jul 2017 14:30:43
Eds, Macca thinks we will get both VVD and Naby Keita. What do you'll think? I know, right now both clubs do not want to sell their players, but can the situation change with improved future bids for both of them? Or is the club wasting its time behind both? Your view?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - it really depends on how much money they are willing to spend. Both players are attainable, both want to join, the issue is the cost and so far we have been well short of the valuations. So I have no idea. I don't know how high we are willing to go.}

17 Jul 2017 15:41:46
Ed01 do you know if it the actual fee that is the problem or the payment structure as many are reporting? I understand fully it's business but it confuses me why we would go for 2 players from clubs that don't want to sell if we were not prepared to pay what was needed.

{Ed001's Note - both.}

17 Jul 2017 13:10:32
Please someone tell me what is going on with these transfer one report says we got our players another we don't which is it confused. com.

Believable0 Unbelievable6

{Ed002's Note - Read the posts.}

17 Jul 2017 13:24:12
Ed don't bother wasting your time replying to these, literally every single post is about it, just look half a scroll down the page.

17 Jul 2017 13:03:54
As good as we were last season going forward I still think we could do with a proper Ian rush type that score allsort of goals,
Just my opinion but I still think we will rue letting aubameyang slip by without a sniff.

Believable1 Unbelievable9

17 Jul 2017 14:35:54
Aubameyang is not an Ian Rush type player.

17 Jul 2017 16:29:39
I just meant frequently scoring hitting 20/ 25+ goals a season like rush used to I wasn't comparing playing styles exactly mate.

17 Jul 2017 12:58:44
What does everyone think of the new orange 3rd kit?

Believable10 Unbelievable2

17 Jul 2017 13:03:53
It was designed to lure VVD and make gini happy, genius move if you ask me!

17 Jul 2017 13:06:01
It's just a bit meh, to be honest. Nothing special about it.

17 Jul 2017 13:11:31
Netherland national team jersey!

17 Jul 2017 13:21:01
I really don't like it.

17 Jul 2017 13:22:49
I like it.

17 Jul 2017 13:44:12
The future's bright.

17 Jul 2017 13:50:38
The orange color is simply to attract VVD to the club. Who wouldn't want to play more often in their national team's colors?

17 Jul 2017 14:02:30
Classic Ron.

{Ed001's Note - I never realised it was only just out, I got mine over a month ago.}

17 Jul 2017 14:03:34
Love it just bought it for my daughter.

17 Jul 2017 14:05:57
It's probably the best 3rd kit we've had since new balance took over. No excuse for a misplaced pass with the brightness of it.

17 Jul 2017 14:27:36
With all the trips to Blackpool to tap up players, we went for an orange third kit so Klopp can blend in with the locals. Less likely to get caught that way!

17 Jul 2017 16:13:27
A lot better than the away.

17 Jul 2017 16:50:54
So orange is the new black!

17 Jul 2017 17:26:15
I'm not a fan but it doesn't really matter seeing as we change our kits every season.

17 Jul 2017 12:14:21
Just want to wish lucas all the best he was a great player and great man to have around the club and when he hangs up his boots I hope he's offered some type of position in the club.

Believable9 Unbelievable1

17 Jul 2017 12:46:47
Im gutted to be honest. Hopefully doesn't prove to be a massive loss. I really thought he might give it one more year seeing as this could just be a special one for us.

17 Jul 2017 13:34:32
Really sad to see Lucas go, but he's not an old man, and obviously loves to play football, so it's the right thing to do to let him go and test his mettle playing regularly somewhere else.

One of my favourite players of the last 10 years, i'll never forget the fact that i've never wanted a player to curl a beautiful 25 yarder into the top corner more than every time Lucas got the ball in that position. knew it wouldn't happen, but always wanted him to add to his rather modest goal tally!

17 Jul 2017 15:09:12
Thank you Lucas Leiva. You'll never walk alone.

17 Jul 2017 11:25:20
With the possibility of Keita coming in, Emre signing a new deal and Grujic looking to get more game time I wonder if Spurs could be interested in Adam Lallana again? Would the club entertain such interest?

I wondered that too, although Lallana was one of our best players last season, for a lot of it anyway!

I'd like to get our significant incomings tied up soon and then sit back to watch the outgoings, as long as Couts is not one of them!

17 Jul 2017 11:30:05
I would drive him there! £40 mill and Thank you so much!

17 Jul 2017 11:31:15
Hope not. Remember how much we missed Lallana when he was injured on England duty? I'd sell emre can before Lallana any day.

17 Jul 2017 12:19:54
I feel a good offer for Lallana at his age may well be considered carefully (if Keita does come in) . His stock is really high right now off the back of a pretty good season. Whilst he is an excellent player in the big games he is often part of the problem with his dawdling and pirouettes when we're facing a "low block". Perhaps if we had not signed Gini and Grujic last summer this wouldn't even be a consideration!

Or maybe everything is being readied for some big Coutinho bids!

17 Jul 2017 12:49:09
I'd get rid of Henderson before lallana, injury has hampered him its only a matter of time before he is replaced as captain of the team.

17 Jul 2017 13:13:44
I find it really interesting how different people perceive different players. For me Henderson is up there with Coutinho as our best player, for others he's surplas. Some rate Can as the future of the club, I see him as someone who'll never command a first team place.

As for Lallana to me is clear that Klopp sees him as an integral part of his team but you guys think he's not needed. It's funny how we can all watch the same thing and come away with totally different conclusions.

17 Jul 2017 18:23:41
Thats true putney, I personally don't rate lallana either but would pick him over Henderson who is average at best, I'm not sure what he has done to be held in such high regard rather than having good endurance.

Rumor has it the CIA are looking into making suspected terrorists editors of Liverpool rumours during the transfer window. They think waterboarding is a walk in the park compared to being an Ed.

Morning Ed01, on the subject of a few posts I seen about people wishing we would sign a 20+ goal a season striker like Aubameyang do you think Firmino could do this for us? Do you think he's capable? I love Firmino but I think he needs to be more greedy infront of goal and take more shots instead of always looking to put through someone else. He definitely has the attributes to be a top stiker but I still think Sturridge should be number one choice upfront because he will score goals. And just wondering if we could sign any striker in Europe currently no necessarily one we are interested in who would it be? My choice would be Morata I think he could light up the premier league.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - he has everything needed to be a 20 goal a season striker. Greed is the easy bit to develop.}

17 Jul 2017 10:30:13
Just going to throw it out there. what about edin dzeko. bit of an under hyped striker. No reak nonsense. banged in goaks last year easily.

Would anyone take him. I would. May break fluidity of the midfielders but can finish a cross.

Believable1 Unbelievable13

{Ed002's Note - So Liverpool, who already have Firmino, Sturridge, Origi, Ings and Solanke, in addition to Brewster who a lot is expected of, should add a 31 year old? I assume you would let Firmino move on as it would be his place he would be taking?}

17 Jul 2017 10:39:00
Crazy suggestion Humancenterpide.

Ed you forgot to add the return of Suarez.

17 Jul 2017 11:00:26
Geez mate. just a suggestion. more the point haven't heard his name thrown around this transfer season. Ill go sit in the naughty corner.

17 Jul 2017 11:15:54
Sorry mate didn't mean to sound like a tw## lol. I can see what you meant. I think we are well stacked in the Striker department. We need to strengthen at the other end imo.

17 Jul 2017 11:18:53
No need to sit in the corner. Just try a bit of common sense!

Giroud has more EPL goals than Dzeko, why not suggest him?

Or Tevez? or Torres? Or even Peter Crouch?

The point you seem to have missed is why on earth would we buy and keep younger strikers like Origi, Ings, Solanke, if we're going to take their place with a 31 yo on the bench?!

Just makes no sense whatsoever!

17 Jul 2017 11:34:30
Nah fair zeddicus. ill lay off the wacky stuff.

We should go for lukaku!

Hi eds and fellow reds,
Thank you for all your contributions to this site so people like myself can learn more about the game and this great club. Coming from australia unfortunately i don't hear any rumours of substance to join in. May i please ask a question to all. Reading everything transfer wise is it the norm for players we want to drag out so long? Should i be worried we will miss our targets or is there a lot of work going behind closed doors. I hope we do get some players to strengthen our squad. Thank you for reading this, i know you are all well versed with the game.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - There is work going on all of the time but sometimes it is difficult to reach agreements, sometimes other clubs are looking to the same players, etc.. There is nothing abnormal about this window at all.}

17 Jul 2017 10:29:35
Thank you ed2 for explaining.

17 Jul 2017 08:54:20
Hi Eds,

Whats the latest on Naby Keita to Liverpool. I'm hearing so many differnent things and it would be nice to hear the truth.

Are RBL still adamant that they won't sell?

Will Liverpool be making a 2nd bid?

If they don't want to sell, why make a 2nd bid?

Thanks.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - Read the posts please.}

17 Jul 2017 10:24:37
RBL don't want to sell as he's one of their best players but every player has a price and if Liverpool pay a fee which RBL accept then he will leave. LFC will be making a 2nd bid for the players. I believe £70 mil will get us keita.

17 Jul 2017 08:37:37
Don't post often but had to put on record that I'm gutted Lucas is leaving to sign for Lazio. One of my favourite Liverpool players. Hope he is a real success there and eventually gets his dream move to Gremio for the last few years of his career. All the best Lucas YNWA.

All you can do is admire and respect the effort he has put in at the club a loyal and respected person among his peers and I wish him all the luck in the world "Com respeito e amor de você família liverpool"

17 Jul 2017 10:15:30
Makes little sense to sell him when we need depth in the squad. He's a great squad member and can step into defence/ midfield when needed. 5mil? Keep him LFC.

{Ed002's Note - You cannot add players without others moving on. I don't get it that this is so difficult for many Liverpool fans to understand.}

17 Jul 2017 10:26:55
if we end up signing VVD and Keita he's going to be even further down the pecking order and his only way in to the team would be due to an injury crisis.
At this point in his career he will want first team football and it would be harsh and unfair to stand in his way after he has been such a good servant to the club.

17 Jul 2017 10:34:01
There are plenty of players to move on. Lucas shouldn't be one of them. It's not rocket science - keep players worth keeping when your challenging on all fronts, ship out the dead wood.

{Ed002's Note - Which dead wood would that be?}

17 Jul 2017 10:56:57
Red Reaper, and any others around who get confused between real life and a computer game. We are talking about real life human beings here, not commodities!

A player's not going to stay just because the club want him to, nor is he going to leave for that self same reason!

Not all players are mercenaries, the odd one may just have some pride and want to continue to compete and test himself week on week. So keeping Lucas cos "its only £5m, innit? " doesn't really work on so many levels!

17 Jul 2017 12:00:55
You should be thankful someone is willing to pay £5 mill for a player no longer in your plans and is 30!

17 Jul 2017 01:16:04
How do eds and fellow reds, just read that spurs are interested in Clyne? Don't suppose anyone can shed any light on this
Thanks.
