Use our rumours form to send us liverpool transfer rumours.

17 Aug 2010 22:59:38

As that old girl says on The Catherine Tate show says

" Wot a load of s* t ! !"

Let's get our priorities right.

Let's get our heads out of the fog. .

WE NEED NEW OWNERS.

LOOK AT THE DEBT these pair of Cowboys are putting us into every week. YES every week.

Everything at the moment is a smoke screen to take away the attention of everyday Liverpool fans in trivial issues such as Rip Van Winkel or Toy something for centre forward.

Lets face it Liverpool have been crying out for a decent backup for Torres for 24 months and every fan out there knows it.

We need quality not dross we have enough of that with Ngog, Kuyt, Babel, we have had Keane Bellamy, Crouch to name a few.
It's proven in Torres buy quality pay the price and stop buying s* t that after all amounts to a world class player such as Suarez, Tevez, Higuin or Aguero.

The club sold it's soul the day Moore sold to Dumb and Dumber and it is to this day being run by idiots.
Every fan knows what the reds need and have needed, SO WHY DONT THEY SORT IT?

You know why ? because they are just theives leeching off the club for their own financial gains. .

Moores, Parry, Purslow, Gillette, Hicks anyone else oh yes the Chelsea fan Broughton who decided that the date of bids should be in 2 weeks before the end of the transfer market ?

Wot a knobhead or is he thinking about his beloved Chelsea!

Why oh Why did he not bring the date forward 6 weeks so a transfer kitty could be in place for Woy.

Again the club is being run by knobheads! !

Someone such as Purslow should show some balls and go and sort a deal out with the banks for additional funds to be released to buy quality not s* t!

Don't forget the cowboys are selling and if all these bids are in RBS will now this so why not??

Is there any bids, that's my great worry.
Kirdi was just a puppet for publicity for the sale for the cowboys.

How thick do those pair think we are, were not American, we understand fully what's going on and what them clowns are upto.

Knobheads!

We need Bridge LB
Scharner (free cover)
Turan LW
Suarez or Aguero CF. End of

Cheers

Big Roge. . . . .come on u reds!

Wow mate your really angry, most of what your saying is spot on, I think you may be wrong about Purslow and Broughton, as the power of the club is being removed from the yanks by Barclays, the people selling the club, The two of them are now starting to assert there authority. There was a little rumour flying around that the chuckle brothers(Hicks and gillette) were trying to refinance until October, evidently the club will be worth more then. The board though this wouldn't be in the interest of the club and blocked it, so I think P & B have the best interests of the club in mind. As far as Broughton being a Chelsea fan, that is irrellivent, he is paid to do a job and will do it. The Sale will be done when its done, then will be the mighty Reds again.

Enemy of football. .like those old school youth coaches who got angry when a kid showed off new skills in training, yet got excited when the striker ran 30 yards to hurry the keeper up into kicking the ball!
SI
I still disagree with you on Kuyt. however your completely right as regard the youth coaches. football coaching and coaches especially who are badge passing friends of the club, are to put it mildly Disgraceful. i have been closely involved in alot of clubs and have seen some of the greatest potential players ousted for shall we say fast n mongy. these players released at say 14-16 are brought up from say 6. training 4 times a week maybe playing once, the growth of these kids is minimal due to too much training, so at say 14 the club go an get a kid who is 6foot who hasnt got the skill but can muscle hulk hogan off the ball. the skillful kid is released(shattered), then goes hunting for a lower club. unfortunately 1st and 2nd division clubs are looking to survive in their leagues and so are looking for 1st and 2nd div style players(big n mongy). .take a good look at clubs for relatives of ex players, coaches and even chief executives. don't get me wrong the odd couple get through, but with better coaches you could magnify that. our system is packed wth football players. . and not enough footballers. . .SMF

This is his twin brother David :-)

17 Aug 2010 21:17:26

In reply to georgie, yes it was great goal but myself thought keeper was to blame, but credit where its due he did well, but what about the header he should of scored instead of nearly hitting the corner flag , hes total waste of space and will never make it as a liverpool player in my eyes

I given ngog alot of stick since hes put on the red shirt . but i'll be honest and say that this chap migth be finally starting to show wot he can do . i thought he played very well against arsenal and that goal he banged in was bleeding super . if he can score , i think was it 8 goals last year when the teams was playing poor . i reckon he cud prob bang in at the most 15 to 20 if the team is playin well. does anyone else share my views

IN RESPONSE TO

. .Kuyt would be the least player i would want to play against, he NEVER stops running can you imagine having to mark him, you would have to match his work rate which i am sure not may right backs enjoy, and to say if i do not agree with you then i have never played the game is a very childish way to try to prove you are right, for instance if you don't agree that Kuyt is great then you abviously have no knowledge of football, can you see how pathetic that type of argument makes you sound!
. . . You say that that type of argument makes me sound foolish yet then go on to use the argument that Kuyt MUST be class because he played in the world cup final! Are you for real?? . .And Kuyt played so brilliantly in that game didn't he?. . And then you go on to say Rafa, Roy, and the dutch coach and Jol loved him so i must know nothing
. . Listen, its not my fault that footballs modern manager values strength and effort over skill and technical ability!. .and in my opinion that's whats wrong with football today -bar a few like Barca and Spain- which is why the world cup was crap
. . Kuyts best work is done when we don't have the ball, and that dosen't say much for someone who was bought as a striker.
. .In my opinion if we totally dominated posession like Arsenal do, we would have sold Kuyt a long time ago!
. . .To cut a long story short. .I think people like you are whats wrong with football today. .You are Anti-football. .You are an Enemy of football. .like those old school youth coaches who got angry when a kid showed off new skills in training, yet got excited when the striker ran 30 yards to hurry the keeper up into kicking the ball!

If liverpool is not sold by end of august which looks likely h & g will get fined 20m and i think 60 mil in october, does this mean they will put more debt on the club or is there something in place sayin it has to come from the pockets? Ed or any1 else do you know?

Inter Still Have The Chance To Land Liverpool Midfielder Javier Mascherano - Report

Inter could still snap up Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano this summer, according to tuttomercatoweb.
The Argentina captain had been linked with a move to the treble winners since Rafael Benitez was appointed coach at the San Siro, but recently it had seemed that Barcelona were on the verge of signing the 26-year-old. However, Blaugrana sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta recently denied reports that the club have reached any agreement to acquire the former Corinthians man.
With the Reds star seemingly unlikely to leave for the Camp Nou, Benitez could still link up with one of his favourites in Serie A after looking like they had been beaten to the punch by Barca.

Toivonen would be a stronger addition to the squad than remy. even though he is 6ft 3 he is quite quick. would be a very astute signing and a perfect foil for torres. forget 5 million though it will be a fee closer to 10 (as sky are reporting)that will bring him to anfield.Furthermore, this transfer is not reliant on the sale of masch. i would expect psv to recieve the money in installments and add-ons rather therefore making ola an affordable option for roy.

17 Aug 2010 17:20:14
I swear all the Masch to Barca talk is rubbish. Aren't they having to take out a massive loan this year just to pay players wages?

Yes, they were going to spend £30 on Fabregas (and nothing makes me happier than the knowledge that Wenger stood up to those player poaching dicks) , but he would have been a marquee signing for the new president.

Out and out defensive midfielders don't fit the whole exciting, big money, marquee signing mold.

17 Aug 2010 16:54:51
Mancini has already said that he won't sell players to rivals (apart from Ireland to Villa to seal the Milner deal) so please stop will all this Robhino, SWP and any other City player.

On another note, Roy please buy another striker - we would have won the league if we had kept Robbie for the rest ot the year !

17 Aug 2010 16:15:09
Never heard of wolfswinkel, but if he turns out to be as good as the last players name i laughed at arshavin he'd be a welcome signing in my book. somehow though I don't think were going to buy him

17 Aug 2010 16:14:50

To Dan, who wrote this:

if the moves do go ahead expect Toivonen to get the number 15 shirt and Wolfswinkel to get the number 25 shirt (although if he got the number 69 i would definitively get him on my shirt).

Dude, we've already got a play who wears number 25. He's name is Pepe Reina and I think he plans on keeping that number.

17 Aug 2010 16:13:08
Man City won't sell or lend any of their players to a rival top 6 team.
Toivonen looks odds on to join having been scouted 3 times in a week and scoring 6 goals. the fee won't be above ten million as some people keep saying. Between 5 and 8 is my hunch and that includes add onns.
gignac please did any one see his appearance at the world cup, he was awful, and isn't he a gypsy?, doesn't seem the type of player liverpool would want on their books to me. When buying a player you have to take into account their temperement and background, and even if that's a little debateable, it may be worth the risk in some cases pennant 6mil, although that back fired, your never going to shell out 15 mil on a gamble when your on a limited budget

17 Aug 2010 15:56:37

Any news on the takeover, Ed? Thanks.

{Editor's Note: Still quiet.}

17 Aug 2010 15:15:41
Ricky van Wolfswinkel. I want him, just so I can buy a jersey with his name on the back. . .Class !

17 Aug 2010 15:10:49
Thanks Rafa, indeed - and Houllier - I think, despite the debt, the squad and the club itself is in a lot better condition than people think.

Our fringe attacking players have great potential and if our two main men stay fit and in form we're going to be dangerous. I think we havn't rushed to buy another striker because Roy has seen what we've got and likes the look of them.

I reckon some of our players need a softer arm approach to come out of their shells and Benitez, for all the good things, wasn't that kind of manager.

17 Aug 2010 14:53:33
I cannot believe we get people on here moaning that the sale is taking too long. Who cares if Blackburn are getting bought? We screwed up the sale of the club once already and it's almost brought us to our knees. If it happens again, that's it - Leeds or worse.

Screw the transfer window - the squads better than outsiders give it credit - this shouldn't be rushed.

Can't believe Bellamy has gone to Cardiff, what a waste. Also Ireland gone to Villa with Milner going the other way. Starting to get a bit worried about a new striker, nobody seems to be linked apart from Remy and he seems to prefer Spurs.

The kuyt issue is that ok hes no out and out winger but if you were to play 4-3-3 which for some reason everyone seems to think this is the style to play all of a sudden. .then i would class Kuyt as a better inside right and jovanovic as an inside left. .kuyt in this position is better than lennon , wrght-phillips. . .ok not sure if hes as good as johnson but he IS a class kid. .he Isnt a winger! SMF

AGREED

I just found this on epl talk, ''The World Cup has shown that in terms of killer passes, creativity and endless labouring, there are few better in the Premier League than Dirk Kuyt.'' And some people think he is not good enough for Tottenham, Villa, Man City??

He was joint highest in the World Cup Assists table and was voted the best EPL player in the World Cup by epl talk, agree or don't agree, he can't be as bad as people like to say!

IN REPLY TO THIS POST,

And if you were a left back who would you rather play against?. Adam Johnson, Wright Phillips, Lennon, Yossi Ben, Maxi Rodriguez, or Kuyt! . .You cannot tell me left backs would rather face the rest than Kuyt, and if you do, i have to assume you've never played the game!. . .I love the club and would never use bad language to describe our players, and to be honest i didn't even want to say what i just have, but I'm forced to when people voice opinions which are in my opinion indefensible or not thought through. .

Kuyt would be the least player i would want to play against, he NEVER stops running can you imagine having to mark him, you would have to match his work rate which i am sure not may right backs enjoy, and to say if i do not agree with you then i have never played the game is a very childish way to try to prove you are right, for instance if you don't agree that Kuyt is great then you abviously have no knowledge of football, can you see how pathetic that type of argument makes you sound!

And my opinion is very defensible, Kuyt played in the final of the world cup, Johnson, Philips, and Lennon was not even regulars in the England team so maybe you should think through your arguments before hand, i also notice Hodgson seems to like Kuyt, you must be some expert if you know more that Hodgson, Rafa, and van Marwijk

By your argument unless another team wants to buy a player then they are no good, how about Carragher, Agger, Reina, Johnson etc are they all no good? And Kuyt would never get into the Tottenham's side? Martin Jol tried to buy him for Tottenham, you really know your stuff don't you?

One more thing please copy and paste anywhere where i acused you of using bad language, i said ''some morons come on here using bad language'' so before you reply please think through you post before hand and do a bit more research, i probably won't reply again as i am have to say i do not think you know enough about football to have a worth while debate with, sorry!

Ed thanks for replying to my post yesterday. Fully agree that pacheco needs to play more, maybe even suso and amoo? But that's not my point. I think someone posted yesterday that he works twice as hard as kuyt and six days a week. I fully agree with him. Players are paid probably 10 times more than the average person a month for playing 90 minutes(or less) of football once or twice a week, which is ridiculous. Whatever kuyt's work rate, he is an awful winger and striker. No pace, creativity, technique, dribbling skills, etc.(same old argument) and he gets paid bags of money to play for the most legendary football club in history. Think about it. Does he compare to valencia? Pienaar? Ronaldo? Navas? Messi? Silva? Malouda? Robben? All who play for much lesser clubs compared to the mighty reds.
Red blooded!

Does brad jones signing as a no 2 mean Cavalieri and itandje will be leaving? No point Having 4 of the 25 man squad as keepers when we have under 21's who don't count towards the 25.

17 Aug 2010 12:48:30
I remember a while ago reading an article saying that Lukaku was a massive chelsea fan and was obsessed by Drogba. .an was only interested in signing for them?. listening to harry the dog the other day on about bellamy, , seems everyman an his dog is a target for spurs, an harry actually tells you where as ours are just fan rumours. must be unsettlng for their players. SMF.

17 Aug 2010 11:51:26

Ed, what do you think about the signing of Brad Jones {editor's note - decent enough keeper, good cover for Pepe, but I am not sure he will ever be good enough to push for the No 1 jersey.}

To all the people that keep mentioning Hodgson's 'agreement' with Fulham regarding LFC not signing their players

It only applies to players they are trying to keep i.e. Hangalaand, Zamora etc

If there are players that Hughes/ Fulham are prepared to let go then of course they can be sold to Liverpool, and Konchesky falls into that category

ALSO. . hodgson an al fayed had a 'gentlemans agreement' which i believe that al fayed broke by openly criticising hodgson in the press. so who knows whether or not woy is still willing to honour that 'agrrement'. .

Hi Ed can i have your thoughts on this,
Ive heard from from someone close to the squad that we are paying £10 million a month in interest to the banks plus that whoever and whenever the takeover happens major funds will not be availabe to RH.I know everyone wants to believe we will sign load of quality but doesn't look like its going to happen.

{Editor's Note: You have been seriously misled about the interest payments. Nobody knows what if any funds will be available to improve the squad.}

In Response

And if we're all honest. .would he get into our competitions starting 11's?? - Man U's? (PROBABLY) - Chelsea's? (NO)- Arsneals?(NO) - Tottenham's?(DEFINATELY) - Man Citeh's?(DEFINATELY) - Villa's? (DEFINATELY)-. . And what really kills me is that just before Rafa bought him, on the late night football programme -"Goalissimo"- which used to be aired on channel 4 or 5, I can remember like it was yesterday the young Sergio Aguero of Independiente saying how much he'd love to move to a club with great history like LIVERPOOL. . I then remember Rafa saying Aguero wasn't the type of player we needed when asked about transfer targets! Kuyt?. .Aguero?. .Kuyt?. .Aguero?. .mmm WHAT HAS COMPARING KUYT TO ANOTHER STRIKER GOT TO DO WITH HIM BEING A GOOD PLAYER OR NOT??

Please check out what I'm saying if you think I'm * * ! . . and please be honest before challenging me on the Kuyt issue. NOBODY KNOWS WHO YOUR POST HIS DIRECTED TO AS THERE ARE MANY FANS ON HERE THAT DEFEND HIM AND UNDERSTAND WHAT KUYT BRINGS TO A TEAM AND ALSO KNOW JUST HOW GOOD HE IS!
. . . . .Firstly, I agree that no one should just say Kuyt is S* t! And secondly, my post was directed to ALL the fans who defend him blindly and who think they understand what he brings to the team!
Of course he brings something to the team, but he often detracts more, i.e, pace, creativeness, suprise, and you can't deny that! If he was SO good, why have we never recieved a bid from another Prem Club for him?? Really?? And if anyone says he'd get into Man City's, or Tottenham's side I have to say they're not being honest as City use Adam Johnson cutting in on his left from the right wing or they use Wright Phillips. . And Spurs use Lennon!
And if you were a left back who would you rather play against?. Adam Johnson, Wright Phillips, Lennon, Yossi Ben, Maxi Rodriguez, or Kuyt! . .You cannot tell me left backs would rather face the rest than Kuyt, and if you do, i have to assume you've never played the game!. . .I love the club and would never use bad language to describe our players, and to be honest i didn't even want to say what i just have, but I'm forced to when people voice opinions which are in my opinion indefensible or not thought through. .

So Blackburn is expected to be under new ownership from Ahsan Ali Syed within 14 days and Big Sam, it has been suggested, will have £100mil to spend.

Now, I know the LFC board is supposed to be finding the best suitor in the interest of the clubs future stability but I have to say I am getting really p*ssed off at this stage. It really, really should not take this long to finalise the sale of the club (if appropriate buyers have been found).

I know, nobody outside the club board & the proposed suitors knows what's going on but it's reminding me of how Newcastle was up for sale over a year ago with several potential buyers names all over the media etc and in the end nothing happened.

I have to say I am totally against the ridiculous amounts of money that these "Billionaires" are putting into their new play toys, it's ruining the game, but come on, are we going to end up have to challenge "big spenders" Blackburn for a top four spot too??

Rant over but give me some of your thoughts guys.

{Editor's Note: The promise for Blackburn is £100M over five years.}

Things have gone quiet . . . I mentioned this in a posting last week. We should not conduct transfer business in the glare of the media - and that seems to be the way we are working at the moment. It makes me feel comfortable about what we are planning.

Mascherano: I suspect there will NOT be a bid that will please RH and that he will remain with us until the end of the season. His performance on Sunday was an 85% commited one for me and that suggests he may well have the mental stability to battle through the season for us.

Babel: No matter what promise we think he has; no matter what dreams he may have; no matter how highly his agent rates him, unless we see him play, then we can't judge. I want to see him play behind Ngog/ Torres pretty soon and show us what he can do.

Aquilani: this is his big season and yet we have not seen enough already. RH may still harbour some doubts about his physical strength. I wonder if he will be offloaded within the next two weeks and Petrov from Aston Villa brought in?

Kuyt: I like him. Always works hard and I have overlooked his lack of precise technical positioning. But now I wonder if he will leave with that playing space filled by Turan. Yes I know what you're thinking. Why is Ada Turan mentioned and nothing seems to be on the map about him? I just think we might have work in progress on the righthand side of midfield.

Balotelli: What?! He's a Manchester City player! True. But he may hold the key to disruption at City and may allow Gareth barry (not my choice) to be the man coming in during the January window). Incidentally, I rarely make true predictions, but my sources in Italy suggest he will either fall foul of Mancini and a number of City players with his attitude, or the law and end up back in Milan very quickly.

Carragher: I was the poster who said Carragher was living on borrowed time this season. Sunday proved he has the skill and knowledge, but you cannot deny the lack of pace. He is not 23 and up against fast forwards it will leave him strapped for pace.

* Why have we not considered playing 3 at the back? Skrtel and Agger man marking with Carragher as the sweeper? Then we could play 5 across the middle and 2 up front.

Finally, what hopes that the younger ones WILL see some action. I would prefer to see Amoo, Eccleston and Wilson play rather than pay more £ for foreign players.

Just one to consider. With the yanks on way out and the RBS repayment penalty looming. All proceeds from a Masc sale going towards the above. Therefore I pose the notion Masc has been asked to stay until Jan by RH at least because Roy won't see the money from the sale.

Ed, be honest - you've 'out-sourced' havn't you? There was a time when you hardly wrote a word, and when you did it normally was the common sense view, but I've just read about you protecting 'your sources', and criticising LFC players like Kuyt.
You're starting to sound very 'Kop Talk' - big Dunc reveal yourself.

come on. .dont insult the ed by saying that. .he is only telling you the truth. .if you want to hear lies and bullsh*t then go to koptalk and listen to big dunc's crap. .
you say that ed' barley spoke a word?ive been coming on this site for years and all the editor has ever done was answer questions from people like you, and from my point of view don't ask if you don't wanna hear an answer. .he is good enough to respond to you lads. .yes he does have good sources and you should know if you start telling the world who they are, there not gonna tell you sweet FA. .

What on earth does any of this mean? Surely textspeak, and abbreviations generally, originated to make information keying-in quicker and more efficient (ie. more characters for your 10p), and potentially long-winded (see this message as case in point) items easier to use and understand (think SCUBA diving, etc). The achievement of your message style is to make yourself almost impossible to understand, precisely the inverse of your intention. You're not the only one of course, but the thing I find really worrying is that you may well have as much difficulty in following what I am saying as I did you. And that, m8, wub b a reel bmr.

To the person complaining about this site going down hill - fair play, Since we've had our own site it's hardly worth reading.

It only works when you get a mix of supporters - it is depressing to read how stupid many of the LFC fans are now. There was a time when we had class.

From Sooty,
To be fair my friend, the stupid people tend to be non LFC fans, if you notice the stupid ones tend to slag our players off which proper LFC fans don't do.

Ola Toivonen has a release clause of 120 million swedish kroner. Thats about 10 million £. A lot of money for a unknown player not even a regular on the swedish squad.

Guys,
I have heard on good authority that Liverpool are delaying transfer for a striker. Roy H has been promised £60M to spend on transfer deadline. The big rumour is that Sergio Aguero is the target "Last week it was confirmed that Chelsea had their interest in the Aguero, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or a striker, but the Argentine talent is holding out for a move to English side Liverpool".
This looks like another Robinho deal.

Pssst. Wanna know the inside info at Anfield? The owners are stalling to try and get as much for the club as possible. In the meantime aquilani, babel and mascherano are being touted around Europe as part of the ongoing asset stripping program. All money received is syphoned off into H+G back pockets and also will be used to pay their ever increasing interest payments. All not well, expect a prominent senior player to speak out this week. Don't tell anyone I told you!

Yes i have heard from my friend whos brother's girlfriend is a nephew to a twice removed aunt of girl who is friends with the cook of a gardner for some arab who is interested in buying liverpool. He said that they will buy LFC by Man City game and sign Coentaro, Vidic, Maicon, Messi, Robben, and Aguero. They will also appoint Mourinho, Wenger and SAF as managers of Liverpool. They will build a new 300,000 seat stadium and will make an official 50 million bid to the Premier League for 30 points. As an added bonus the The FA will throw in the FA Cup. Another 50 million will go to FIFA who will announce that LFC are in the final of the Champions League and winning 5-0 on 60th minute. So LFC for the treble next season.

The above has a much more likelihood of happening than all the rubbish that is being posted here. Please stop all the nonsence. Thank You

P.S. LFC only need a solid backup for Torres and that's it.

Hey Ed, just wondering. Are Liverpool not interested in Klass-Jan Huntelaar anymore? Cos I would love to see him come to Liverpool.

{Editor's Note: I think the only serious interest being shown in Huntelaar is from Marseille and it is clear that Milan are in no rush to sell.}

Thanks for the info. By the way, great site. Keep giving us Reds hope!

BREAKING NEWS: Australian international Brad Jones has signed for liverpool for 2.3 million from Middlesbrough. Mascherano's move to inte milan or any other club is looking increasingly unlikely however, if no deal is concluded Lucas may be on his way out instead with West Ham interested in him to replace Tottenham-bound Scott Parker.

TRANSFER TALK:
Likely: With Insua's transfer from liverpool on the cards Roy Hodgson has been looking at Paul Konchesky as a replacement

Rumours: Roy Hodgson is weighing up a bid for PSVs forward Ola Toivonen. The Liverpool boss is also keeping tabs on South Korean and bolton wanderers attacker Lee Chung Yong.

Ola Toivonen to take the number 7 shirt at LFC (coincidently also his number at PSV). Roy has been to see him play recently and is very impressed with his form. And who wouldn't be? 6 goals in his last 3 games - 5 for PSV and 1 in front of Roy for Sweden . Overall, 18 goals in his last 24 league games. Amazing. 5m is off the mark for a player like him, especially since hes tied to PSV till 2012. it will be closer to 8 or 10m if we do get him.

Ust heard that Hodgson has pulled the plug on trying to sign Carlton Cole, he has instead turned his attention to signing another English player, Andy Carroll. Carroll would welcome a move to Liverpool and he could be the perfect foil for Torres as he is big, strong and pacy and can hold the ball up well. A fee in the region of £8-10million will be accepted if Hodgson does decide to make his interest concrete with a bid. The reason why he is looking at Carroll instead is due to the fact West Ham won't sell Cole until they have signed a replacement and Hodgson doesn't want to wait.
I've also heard that Brad Jones' medical is showing signs of a recent injury that still is healing. My contact is unsure of what the injury is, but more tests will be conducted tomorrow to look into the injury in a bit more detail, but everyone expects it to be okay, and he should sign a 3 year deal and pass the medical tomorrow afternoon.

I would personally like to see aqua play in the same role as cole did on sunday. i thought the line up was strong and hard working, the back four was solid and i thought masch showed alot of commitment for a player who doesn't want to be there. pepe was really unlucky and i hope this won't knock his confidence. I would like roy to give you pacheco a chance to show what he can do if torres is not fit. BRING ON CITY! TOP FOUR HERE WE COME! YNWA!

Am I just being pessimistic or am I right to believe that we'll be walking through a storm for a helluvah lot longer yet? The Chuckle Brothers will be allowed to continue plunging us into more and more debt by a combination of the Bank's ongoing "generosity" to them and by the determination to bleed the very last drop of blood out of the Club (retalliation for the hatred they've had).
And while we haemorrage money at a staggering rate we will have to scrap it out with the likes of Stoke, West Ham and Fulham for players who, frankly we shouldn't even entertain.
Although a first-time poster on any site I've been a reader of it for a few weeks now and I'm amazed at the blind-optimism and naivety of some of the comments. . . . stuff like "guarantee Aguero will sign on last day after we sell Masch for £40m. 100% true" and "oil-rich Arabs spotted at Melwood ahead of takeover. RH will get £150m to win us the League". . . . .etc.
I've been a supporter ever since I saw Keegan make his debut v Tranmere (1971'ish) and all that came afterwards and the fall from grace since Moores took over has been steady. However, the decline could accelerate into spectacular unless something dramatic happens soon. All this is stating the depressingly obvious but I'm pretty much responding to the comments someone wrote earlier about the RBS extending the credit even further (unless I've mis-understood ! )
The way I saw it was that J.R. and Bobby could be out-voted by the other Board-members whose reputations were at stake and that the worst-case scenario was for the bank to take control (NOT to give the Yanks more time! )
Please tell me I'm wrong somebody !

I think we are all being dilusional about prospective owners and the money to be spent.
If we are bought before the end august the first thing the new owners will do is sell Mascherano to pay for any penalties incurred by Hicks and Gillett.
I seriously think our main priority is a quality striker to fill in for Torres and let Ngog do the donkey work.
