Thought I'd change the tone a bit from the Gerrard debate and Harry bashing.

Very pleased to see Liverpool branching out in Asia. Indian fans on here will be pleased to know that the club is opening a full scale academy for players up to 18 years old. I think that is a really good move for the club. The complex will include full size pitches, a gym, Changing facilities, a canteen and lecture halls. India is a massive untapped market. Due to lack of funding the country has never really produced any top footballers, but with a pool of a billion people, surely one of them has got something? I think its great. Not only are we helping make better lives for people, but we could get first dibs on some top talent as well as expanding our fan base.

Speaking of academies, congratulations to our 16 year old Harry Wilson who yesterday became the youngest Welsh International in history. He rather fittingly replaced Craig Bellamy who played his last minutes for Wales on the same night Harry played his first. Good luck to the both of them. Lloyd Jones apparently refused a call up after deciding to pursue an England career.

There are millions of fans in India for Liverpool. They Equal Man UTD

Unfortunately mate, I am not. I am from a small place in England called Northamptonshire. Its, erm, quiet? Haha. Not a lot going on here mate!

I know Harry, I think it's great.

Harry, unfortunately the number of Liverpool fans here in India is not equal to the number of United fans. The proportion of United fans is pretty high, but I'm sure we don't need the masses seeing that a majority of the fans of United here, couldn't even spell Januzaj or list their substitutes properly.

Nothing against the United fans personally, but a large majority of the people support them only because they are the team dominating the PL and the CL. Which brings me to another point, that winning titles breeds support, which in turn breeds more financial income for the club and a very good profile in any country.

Just another reason why we should be aiming for the title after the next couple of seasons, providing Rodgers keeps continuing his impressive management.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yup, Agree with sama491. I am from India and I am an Arsenal fan. The thing is Football is catching up in India of late so most of the people here are United Fans could be as high as 70%. Then we have Chelsea because of their recent success and Arsenal although very few because of their playing style or if they are following football from early 2000's like me. Sadly Liverpool fans are very few and far in between.

But I can understand why LFC's strategy because many people in india actually have not decided which team they support they would just watch those super sunday's game between the top 6 sides just so that they know what's going on in EPL. And now these ESPN guys are promoting EPL a lot and they now have commentary in our Official Language Hindi. So I guess there are a lot of Fans to Gain here but then as sama491 said it all depends on on pitch performance.

We have got everything. superb academy and pretty good young players.
But common. How does Athletico and Spanish club produce Genius.
I just trolled out to see more about Koke.
he is just 21 and he is an outstanding player. I wish we buy this guy.
2 goals and 6 asist in 9 games already this season. he has the highest Assist than any player in Europe. This Lad would take us into the next Level.
I think The only team in EPL who makes profit by sale of their young good players is Aston Villa.
Young, Downing, Milner, Barry.

21 years old, 9 appearances and he's 'Taking us to the next level?'
Since when do we support Wigan?

God help us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Young, Milner and Downing were sold at a good profit but Villa didn't buy them cheaply. They made around 10 Million on each player including Barry who they bought as a 16 yr old.
But what about Reo coker and Steve Warnock bought for decent money went for free. Darren bent 18 million on loan at fulham. curtis Davis sold 5 million loss, Luke Young, james Collins, sold at loss. Stephen ireland 8 million on loan at Stoke. My point is you can't quote Villa as being a success with selling on there kids when none the players you mention apart from Barry you can actually class as brought up through the ranks as kids. Downing 12 million Milner 12 million Young 9.6 million that's what they paid for them.Yes they made a profit on them 3.But look at how many failures they made.Southampton recently are the team you could say that make profit from their youngsters. {Ed002's Note - You ned to sign in.}

Hi Eds

I live in Newcastle but have supported Liverpool all my life because of my dad who has luckily brought me up well! Just wondering if anyone has any spare tickets for sale for the Liverpool end this Saturday? 2 if possible. Thanks in advance

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'm not going this weekend, but am wondering if this £20 ticket deal is going to happen?
Anyone?

Agree0 Disagree0

You will get tickets outside around the ground Kenny 2, but they won't be no £20 each!

Agree0 Disagree0

:0) Jucier.
What I ment mate, was that Newcastle offered away tickets at £20.00 as long as the away team matches the offer to their fans when they returned to Anfield.
I think it's great idea.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeh, I saw that in the press.
I wasn't trying to dig you out there, but I don't think Liverpool will run with this.
It is a great idea though, I agree with you there.
I can't see it being in the business plan unfortunately but.

Eds, really confused now. Not only has the site continued to log my phone out of the site, but it's also automatically logging me back in? I don't really know what's going on haha. I sign all my posts and provide an Email address every time regardless. Just so long as when it happens, my post still gets through, I suppose it's not a problem.

I will try and change some settings on my phone, see if that helps.

YNWAdam {Ed001's Note - it should just log you back in automatically, if you tick the check box. Other than that, your browser will log you out as soon as you close it.}

Ahhh, didn't realise that was there. I've never clicked it on my PC and it always keeps me logged in. I've just logged out on my phone though and I clicked it as I logged back in. Hopefully it works! Cheers Ed. I'll open my eyes next time!

YNWAdam {Ed001's Note - no worries Adam, it is hard to see things on a phone screen, they can be just off screen or too small to read, I find. Or maybe I am just getting old? I think that may be it, as a friend of mine was telling me the other day about her experience working the Oktoberfest. She was complaining about being hit on by a really old man, who was, to quote her words, "like 40 years old or something". I decided it would probably not be the time to mention I am 39 meself!}

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Oct 2013 11:45:35
Phone screens are quite awkward. Particularly when it comes to webpages! It was just too small without me zooming in and as soon as I clicked on the username box the zoom auto switched so the tick box was off screen 39 isn't old! You are younger than Giggs and he's still playing Pro football. My Grandad once said to me "You are only as old as you act". 69 years old now, he is still fitter than me, 50 years his junior! You should see the man baling hay! One 30kg Bale in each hand slinging them in the trailors, running round playing football with my little cousin haha. When you start acting like you're 39, you'll feel it ;) I apparently act about 10 years older than I am because I take an interest in politics and quit drinking at 18 years old. I guess I'm buggered because I moan like an old man already!

YNWAdam {Ed001's Note - my daughter tells me I am too immature, and she is 12!}

Agree0 Disagree0

Hahah, now we know how old is Ed001! This a special friend Ed001? ;) {Ed001's Note - well I do tell her she is special, though she seems to think it is an insult......}

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Oct 2013 13:04:33
Immature is just another word for fun :L 12 year old saying that though! My 13 year old little sister says things like that haha. What are girls like? 12 going on for 21! Have the strops kicked in yet? Until she stomps up the stairs screaming "I hate you" you've got it easy!

YNWAdam

You should worry, I've got two sons, one 24 one 22. How old do you think I feel sometimes!

Hi Eds
Are any teams intetested in Mario Suarez?
Seen quite a bit of him last year. a fantastic defensive midfielder and will only get better. would love to see him and Will Hughes at LFC, think in a year or two they will be quite awesome. {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest right now.}

Is just me but as pleased as I am that England go through with a sublime performance from the captain. WHat does it mean now but a huge chance for media companies, BBC, ITV, News Corp, advertising agencies, supermarkets, etc to fill their pockets with huge amounts of cash

I always remember Michael Owen running round a supermarket advertising some product five minutes after getting through some years ago.

I find recently England a rackety distraction from the actual football in recent world cups. I hope I am wrong this time and we just try and play positive football.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Here, here. The dreaded international break. Yet the argument is that the league is too taxing on the players for the international tournaments every two years.

Too bad, so sad Mr F.A excuses, next they will tinker the foreign quota, then when that doesn't work (it won't make us any better as a nation) and after they've gifted English players jobs ahead of the best players for the job, the job and regardless of nationality (football politicians are almost as bad as governmental ones in my opinion.) then they will blame something else, most likely the Premier League, again! This time for there not being a winter break, then when that fails (anyone else notice all these buzz word initiatives fall flat on their asses time and time again?! :) It will be something else with purpose and the ability to pull on the patriotic heart strings to sell us yet another failed policy so someone can claim ''i left a legacy.'' it's tiresome, real tiresome.

I support Liverpool F.C, I love and feel proud when I see Liverpool players in the England set up, especially when they are club produced through the academy like the captain of Liverpool and England is. :) But i'd prefer seeing : ''Kolo Toure pass to Lucas, who then passes to Coutinho who chips it forward into Suarez run and GOAL!''

The F.A seemingly want to restrict teams to 3 outside of the E.U. players. You'd not be able to see the above if that dream is realised. How does that in any way benefit Liverpool F.C or any other club in the Country? If English/British players are good enough then they'll play, if not then they weren't good enough. This liberalization of football is getting worrying, if you love the game, these people and their magic word ''Reform'' should scare you!
