Does Steve Nicol ever say anything positive about Lfc?

Believable9 Unbelievable3

17 Jun 2017 01:11:19
Never seen him play but he was supposedly a great player, although he knows absolutely nothing about football. Guy has claimed that salah won't start as our midfield is too strong for him, don't think the guy understands that salah is a winger and that he's very good.

17 Jun 2017 02:47:51
He was a very good player and remains a big fan. To say he knows absolutely nothing about football is embarrassing, show some respect.

17 Jun 2017 06:26:39
I grew up watching Nicol, he was probably one of the most versitie players we had in the 80's. He played right across the back four, though his main postition was right back after Neal left. He also played in midfield and on occasions up front!

To say he doesn't understand the game is completed nonsense and as Burkeyboy said, embarrassing!

Our current set of defenders would learn a lot from Nicol!

{Ed001's Note - I have never heard Nicol say anything that wasn't heavily biased towards Liverpool. That is his big issue, he is a properly biased fan, who sees everything through big red blinkers.}

17 Jun 2017 06:56:03
Loved Nicol, grew up in the 80s and always remember him for a hat trick v Newcastle.

17 Jun 2017 07:02:33
That's true ED001, in fact, there are quite a few players from that era that are the same and I have met a fair few, just like you have mate.

The three I found really Good to have a chat to were, David Fairclough, Alan Kennedy and Jimmy Case, he is a really nice fella. Rushey is also a top bloke.

I don't want people to think I'm name dropping here, there is nothing worse. I've just been very fortunate over the years, to meet these players. My line of work involves marketing and one of the company's our marketing team deal with is carlesberg. So can sometimes get entry into the Carlesberg suite, where some of the oldies are, mingling with everyone, signing autographs, pictures etc.

{Ed001's Note - one of the old timers, Nicky Tanner, is now running events based out of the south of England, where you can meet all the old timer players. He is a really nice bloke Nick, his events are well worth attending if anyone is looking for a chance to get to meet some legends of the LFC past.}

17 Jun 2017 07:09:02
Some players don't have a great knowledge of football. I remember when Ian Rush started his brief managerial career at Chester a few of his ex team mates (can't remember which) said in an interview they were shocked he was going into management as he didn't have the greatest football knowledge and not that big of a love for the game.

17 Jun 2017 07:18:13
Good shout ed001.

I didn't know this about Tanner, I would 100% advise anyone interested in meeting some of the legends go and do so.

{Ed001's Note - he also organises footgolf days etc.}

17 Jun 2017 08:32:15
Nicol also said this time last year Liverpool were making a huge mistake paying 35 million for mane. That turned out to be a good shout didn't it.

17 Jun 2017 08:50:01
To be fair, I would say the majority on here would have said the same about Mané before the season started.

17 Jun 2017 09:03:02
He may not be a good judge of players
He may make mistakes - we all do.
To say he "knows absolutely nothing about football" is disrespectful and ignorant.

17 Jun 2017 09:10:58
Totally agree Ron.

17 Jun 2017 15:00:54
Stevie Nicol (who I saw play) and his fellow deluded assistant Shaka Hislop, spent the whole of last season slating us on ESPN, saying we would not make top 4 and wound up with egg on their faces.

16 Jun 2017 20:47:37
Question for the Eds,

Do you think there should be a wage cap in football? Would FIFA be able to set such a thing. Such a cap where it s adjusted depending upon which country you play football in, so that all footballers can earn at the very maximum the same "real" wage.

Thanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - FIFA has no powers to do that and it would be impossible to manage unless the income clubs have is broadly similar.}

17 Jun 2017 00:03:12
At the moment wages and transfer fees are in a bubble. bubbles always pop. All this easy money floating around every where you look will disappear one day soon. when that happens everything will revert back to the mean and below as has always happended throughout history.

17 Jun 2017 07:13:13
It seems more than a bubble, it just seems to be going up and up. I think there should be a salary cap but it would be almost impossible to set up as it's got so far out of hand, you couldn't realistically reduce someone's contract to fit to a cap I wouldn't have thought?

17 Jun 2017 09:04:06
There is potential for much change in the premier league once Brexit is complete.

17 Jun 2017 09:12:49
I would be interested to hear more on that thought Ron.

17 Jun 2017 14:58:35
Well Costa, why can't we impose a maximum of 3 non-UK players in the first team anymore? It would be a restriction of trade under "EU law. "
Why can't we impose a wage cap? - EU law.
Why do players leave "on a Bosman"? - EU law

I'm not saying Brexit is good, I'm not saying EU workers rights are bad. I'm saying, in the case of the premier league there is the potential for much change if it is deemed beneficial to the game as a whole.

16 Jun 2017 19:39:59
BBC reporting that Donnarumma is not going to sign a new contract with Milan. Any possibility we could sign him eds? Ever had any interest in him in the past?

Believable0 Unbelievable7

{Ed002's Note - Absolutely none.}

16 Jun 2017 19:45:45
How about Ronaldo?

{Ed002's Note - Nailed on. A "done" deal so to speak.}

16 Jun 2017 19:56:21
Q the VVD 'are we signing him' questions.

16 Jun 2017 20:11:17
He's not our 1st choice for the left wing, but I think he will do!

16 Jun 2017 22:31:54
just put a bet on, Liverpool to sign any Southampton player, 4/ 1, what do you think .

16 Jun 2017 20:02:34
Your knowledge as always on who we will sign is appriciated ed02 😂.

16 Jun 2017 23:56:31
That would be an expensive window to get donnaruma and Ronaldo. I'd take it though!

17 Jun 2017 07:13:54
Redforever-seems a good bet.

17 Jun 2017 07:15:09
Seeing as Van Dijk is 11/ 8 to join us, how have you got any Southampton player at 4/ 1?

16 Jun 2017 19:30:53
I have started playing Championship Manager 01/ 02 again. It is legally free to download of the net. Have not been in touch with football management games for many, many, many moons now and thought I would give it a try again. CM 01/ 02 has to go down as the King of all football management games ever! Hands down! Just hope not see your life disappear in front of you when you 'just' want to play 'one' more fixture. Truly addictive! Fiance is having a fit.

Anyway, I wonder if Klopp is going to give us any news on two new fullbacks once the transfer window has officially opened?

I'm off.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

16 Jun 2017 20:10:12
Sorry max but the daddy for me was premier manager 2 on amiga. So easy to play and so quick. Just wish I could get an app for it

Crooky.

16 Jun 2017 20:52:34
I am too young to have played Championship Manager 01/ 02, but I've played Football Manager since 2014. I would highly recommend it, it's addictive as hell as well, I've lost so much sleep playing it only to realise it was 5am already and I had to wake up for school in 2 hours anyway! Just started a save with Inter, am going to try and emulate Herrera's great team of the 60s using catenaccio tactics. Went off on a tangent there haha, but most definitely I would recommend you give FM a try.

16 Jun 2017 21:10:21
Champ manager on the Amiga was the one.

Boss game.

LMA manager of the ps was decent.

16 Jun 2017 21:42:02
Champ man 02/ 03 Richie Partridge and Lionel Morgan on the wings.

16 Jun 2017 21:49:27
Kick off 2 was the best Amiga game for me loved that!

17 Jun 2017 00:05:44
Sensible Soccer was amazing.

17 Jun 2017 00:09:46
95/ 96.

17 Jun 2017 00:23:31
I am coming to the close of season 28/ 29 on my current cm0102 file. Definitely the best game ever.

17 Jun 2017 09:16:58
Yep, Championship manager 01/ 02 almost ruined my degree, social and sex life back in the day!

*it was all worth it!

17 Jun 2017 11:39:58
Sign mark Kerr, sergi nikiforenko, maxim tsigalko. Best players on game also mike dunn for rb.

17 Jun 2017 17:10:24
CM 01/ 02 was the best. Ruined my social life and CGPA - but would happily do it all over again.
Always played with one striker upfront - the great Maxim Tsigalko.

16 Jun 2017 17:30:24
Quick question, when spelling is put in brackets after a player name, is that done by eds after correction or the poster?

Believable2 Unbelievable1

16 Jun 2017 21:50:36
Let me see Lallana (Llama)

16 Jun 2017 16:49:41
Ed001. How are you. You enjoying the recent glorious weather? What are your thoughts, expectations on the upcoming season? With the money and calibre of teams in the EPL do you see next season as the toughest and closest yet?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - recent glorious weather? It was the usual here!

Despite the money spent, the quality of player is not really any higher. So far anyway. It just makes me wonder what the point is in the academies.}

17 Jun 2017 14:17:35
returned home yesterday after 3 eeeks in liverpool (training course for work) the weather was absolutely atrocious!

16 Jun 2017 16:10:36
Well our neighbours across the park are showing us how to operate in the transfer market. Already 2 really good deals done, and no drama.

Hopefully, we will eventually learn how to do the same.

Believable8 Unbelievable17

16 Jun 2017 16:36:27
I'm not convinced Pickford is a 30 mil Gk, at least not yet. shown some great promise sure but also had his fair share of mistakes, normally glossed over because Sunderland were poor and usually already losing.

Klaassen is an interesting buy but again expensive, be interesting to see how he gets on.

Not sure you can call either "really good buys" yet.

Also silence doesn't mean nothing's happening at pool, could mean they are finally doing business without the leaks and everything turning into a circus - wouldn't that be a nice change.

16 Jun 2017 17:57:32
Really.
They have spent 50 odd million. but how do you regard that as good business. if we had spent 50m on those 2 players id be worried.

16 Jun 2017 18:09:46
I would not want either of those two signings in our team as they do not improve us in any way and are not better than those already here. I will agree that they don't seem to be wasting any time getting deals done. I just don't know what is going on with us and getting deals done. I thought we had moved on from this farcical manner of dealings but alas, this may take a while.

16 Jun 2017 18:51:37
It's not so much the actual players is it. Everton needed a keeper, they had a no.1 target. Got him, rated as future England no.1.
Barkley is going they had Klassen as Koemans top target. He will replace Barkley will play exactly like Koeman wants and is a quality player.

Two top targets secured, no drama paid up and did the business. Is Pickford worth £30m maybe not, isn't Salah worth £40m? We still haven't got him and he was 2nd choice, maybe even 3rd.

That's the difference people should be looking at.

16 Jun 2017 21:12:53
Sound Max, and I wish Everton well, but which other teams were interested?

Also, it would be interesting to see if the spend anything more than what they receive for Lukaku.

17 Jun 2017 00:37:08
Pickford is a good keeper. But world class I'm not so sure. A world class keeper in my opinion isn't who pulls off lots of saves during a match but makes a world class save when he's practical had nothing to do all game. Again, just my opinion.

17 Jun 2017 07:46:18
Who's suggested Pickfords world class? Missed that one.

21 Jun 2017 00:27:07
That wasn't a direct response to anyone Max Renn, just my opinion.

16 Jun 2017 15:05:16
So when are we putting a bid in for Ronaldo?

Believable5 Unbelievable5

16 Jun 2017 15:23:01
Yes, we are just waiting for someone to pay 30 million for Sakho, 12 million for Moreno and 20 million for Markovic. Once those deals go through, FSG will proceed with the world record signing of Ronaldo who has been left dumbfounded after Papa Perez refused to protect him from the tax authorities. John Henry has assured Ronaldo he will always have his back no matter what and that is what will convince him to join us.

16 Jun 2017 16:09:21
When the transfer window opens 😉.

16 Jun 2017 16:15:26
as soon as john henry cuts down on the stogies.

16 Jun 2017 16:24:53
Buy out clause of €1bn, that might be an issue with FFP?

16 Jun 2017 16:38:55
Oh ron you've been coming here long enough to know that a buy out clause is of no consequence to Liverpool.

16 Jun 2017 16:47:24
Fair enough Jezza, can Jürgen speak Portuguese?

16 Jun 2017 22:38:02
Heard Klopp has tapped him up already, but I don't want him, he is throwing a big stropp, all his toys out of the pram, the big baby, everything has to go his way, needs a good slap .

16 Jun 2017 13:47:16
Ronaldo says he wants to leave Real Madrid.
I hope he doesn't go back to utd because if he does it think they will run away with league.

Believable5 Unbelievable9

16 Jun 2017 13:56:36
We will bring back Suarez then! World's best winger vs best striker! 😎.

16 Jun 2017 14:06:05
He's been playing in Spain a long time now.
He might find it harder playing for Jose's bus against Stoke than Madrid's all-stars against FC Gijon.

16 Jun 2017 13:14:04
Can someone please tell me, why we have not made a bid for lacazette? Deal fell through at A. Madrid so why not capitalise on that? Surely if we was prepared to pay 50m for VVD, we can pay that for lacazette, a 20+ goal a season striker that we desperately need! Baffles me.

Believable7 Unbelievable5

16 Jun 2017 13:55:49
How do you know we haven't?

16 Jun 2017 13:57:02
Coz we are not looking at strikers and have already signed one!

16 Jun 2017 14:20:18
Ron, I think it's time to give up. You appear to be bashing your head against a brick wall unfortunately with some people!

16 Jun 2017 15:42:23
Could it perhaps have something to do with the fact that Lacazette is not of interest to LFC. hence not putting in a bid for him? No?

16 Jun 2017 21:20:33
How can he not be of interest? Superb player.

16 Jun 2017 12:24:30
good to see that Harry is back on form, fit and functioning!

Unfortunately some on here are. Knuckle-draggers!

16 Jun 2017 12:50:38
I concur. beyond football there is humanity and I can not even imagine what those families have gone through and are still sadly living the nightmare. Respect to Raheem.

16 Jun 2017 08:31:36
Hi Eds

Is it true Moreno is not actually a left back? I was speaking to a few Spanish friends who told me the season we bought him he'd spent a year covering left back and before that he was a pacy attacking winger with a bright future. I mean I'm not sure if it's true but it's not totally out of the question that Brendan would of bought a winger to play left back. He bought Caulker to play up front ;-)
Just though Moreno could be an option in attack with a bit of work.

Believable0 Unbelievable8

{Ed001's Note - no he was a failed winger that got moved to full back to try and make something of him. You do realise it was Klopp who took Caulker on loan right?}

16 Jun 2017 10:37:44
Erm I'm not 100% on this but I think he was in the Spain u20s with Suso, delefau and Jesé so the manager at the time there moved him to left back for the tournement and he did really well. The same team also had the likes of Oliver Torres. So I think that was the moment he was switched.

16 Jun 2017 11:18:51
He was being touted for Chelsea and Real and had a few caps for Spain at a young age. Hindsight says he was an awful signing but at the time it looked a decent buy.

16 Jun 2017 12:17:43
I actually think he is a good footballer. He has pace, the workrate, good technique on the ball, and the energy. I also think he is a good character to be around in the dressing room. However, he lacks a footballing brain, making him make rash and stupid decisions on the field. e. g. remember him hacking down steven naismith twice in the penalty area in front of the referee at Norwich?

16 Jun 2017 13:29:39
First game of the season against Arsenal too despite all the criticism he had after the EL final.

16 Jun 2017 14:00:18
Exactly pessimist - he lacks football intelligence which makes him a poor footballer.
If you can't rely on a player then all their technical ability is worthless.
Xabi Alonso and Maldini have an interesting take on football being a game of intelligence. Maldini saying "if I have to make a tackle then I have already made an error".
You have to be able to understand the game and read the game. Intelligence is what separates the good from the great in this game.

16 Jun 2017 07:57:44
Hi Eds

I have a question concerning Danny Ward.

Is it true that we turned down a bid from Huddersfield Towns that would have seen him join the Terriers on loan?

If that is the truth then I really do have to question the logic in this decision.

Why would you not allow a young, promising Goalkeeper, who contributed immensely to bringing Huddersfield to the Premier League, the chance to play regularly in the Premier League?

And for what, so he can be our third choice and play a total of five games in our season, if that. It makes no sense to me, surely this decision will stifle his development. He has gone on loan twice, Aberdeen and Huddersfield, and impressed. Yet, the chances of him pushing Mignolet or Karius are minimal. Klopp is a huge fan of Karius and will provide the lad opportunities, Mignolet has impressed and made the position his. How does Ward even begin to push those two when Klopp clearly has a preference for Karius?

I thought a third choice keeper was always an experienced veteran who could provide insight and his experience to younger Goalkeepers in the squad, rather than playing. A veteran is far more suited to this role.

I know we have a lot more games this season but do we really need three Goalkeepers? Ward is better than third choice, in my opinion, and Klopp's decision could affect all the hard work he did in progressing to this stage.

Hopefully, my fears are wrong and Ward will join Huddersfield. If not, then I fear we would be depriving Ward of regular football and the chance to play in the Premier League.

Fingers crossed this doesn't happen.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

16 Jun 2017 08:25:44
I believe he will go on loan to them and was the reason I was rooting for Huddersfield in the play offs. It's makes perfect sense for him to Joan them on loan this season. It's essentially a win, win win situation for all parties.

16 Jun 2017 08:49:03
Other possibility is Migs doesn't want to be backup and leaves and we keep Ward. when you consider our previous backup was Bogan we could do worse than let Ward play for us in cups and selected other games.

16 Jun 2017 08:51:02
His season long loan ended but it doesn't mean he isn't going back this season. i assume allloan players come back to the club at the end of their loan. unless klopp has something else in store for ward i doubt very much he would stop him going back especially considering the klopp/ Wagner relationship. i actually expect maybe another Liverpool player as well to possibly go there on loan.

16 Jun 2017 08:59:23
I think Huddersfield want to make it permanent but Klopp wants competition. Competition being the operatice word.

If that's the case the young lad needs to keep out of the press knuckle down and show the club that developed hin that he is not a no.3 or a no.2.

There are hundreds of keepers out there who would give tbeir eye teeth to get the chance to challenge for the shirt. Its a once in a lifetime
KLOPPORTUNITY.

16 Jun 2017 09:10:23
I don't know why people believe Karius will all of a sudden become first choice. Another Klopp masterpiece in transfer!

16 Jun 2017 10:10:34
I think Form Fit and Function has a man-crush for Klopp 😍.

16 Jun 2017 10:37:24
Zimbo, why would Migs leave? He's not going to be understudy.

Are you another one with Karius posters on your bedroom wall? It must be his looks you are fascinated by, as we've seen nothing of his ability.

16 Jun 2017 10:40:08
Best thing for Ward himself would be to move on, loan moves have benefitted him and given some experience and game time, it would be no good for him to end up as 2nd or 3rd choice, he needs to play and if he comes back would expect him to be 3rd in line. Klopp has made it clear he sees Karius as part of his plans and Migs is in pole position at moment. Something has to give over one of them this summer.

16 Jun 2017 10:41:26
You are a legend Ron! This page wouldn't be the same without you mate! 😎.

16 Jun 2017 12:08:01
Kloppometer - was only saying there's at least a chance (going by Eds previous comments) that Klopp has Karius in mind to be no.1 next year - and if so Migs may may not be happy

In reality I suspect Ward will get another loan and Migs will retain his spot given his recent form and Karius competing - think that's the fair thing to do given his improvement in form.

16 Jun 2017 12:30:58
Migs had a good 6 months after 3 and half dreadful years. various had a bad few months. perspective needed.

Personally I think Danny ward long term could be excellent so a loan deal to see how he handle PL would be great. if he does good bring him back next season to challenge for number 1 letting one of the others leave.

16 Jun 2017 07:44:35
My take on this transfer business:

Everyone is assuming LFC hasn't done any more transfer business because they are waiting to hear from the FA.

Everyone is panicking because Teams X, Y and Z have announced signings A, B and C.

We have skirted as close as possible to the edge of the law with respect to transfers. I'm certain we are not the only offenders but we may be one of the worst. Accept that fact.
How stupid would we look, or have to be, to announce more signings before the transfer window officially opens, considering we are being scrutinised by the FA.
Klopp has told us a lot of hard work has been done. I imagine soon after the window opens we will announce some signings.
Just chill and wait a few weeks. All will be revealed 😎.

Believable8 Unbelievable4

16 Jun 2017 08:27:21
I don't think you are getting the point nor half of the people on this page. To agree a transfer with any club you don't need a window! Milan has agreed to buy 3 players from their respective clubs including medicals. It's absolutely fine! Window is just an official time frame for the clubs to REGISTER THE TRANSFERS WITH FA.

My worry by the time this WINDOW gets open and running the good players would have already swapped clubs!

Bernardo Silva will join City and I don't think you need a window to explain it!

16 Jun 2017 08:41:18
Your sensible post will be in vain. Very well put though, and hits the nail on the head.

16 Jun 2017 09:19:45
"Form fit and function" - I get the point, I RTFPs from ed002.

My point is to look at things from LFC or even FSG's perspective. Our club is being scrutinised. We have to appear totally legit. I would not be surprised if FSG have said "no more leaks or announcements until July 1st or someone loses their job! ".

We want our club to behave better in the transfer market. From my point of view - we are.

16 Jun 2017 09:39:48
Ron

I have absolutely no complaints over FSG. They are in no way responsible for the mess we are in. I replied to you on the context of ". Window hasn't opened yet. " which has been ongoing on the page from sometime.
You just don't need a window at all mate! All you need to agree with the club and player! It's that simple!
We bought a lot of players in the past even before the window was open.
My only worry is the club missing out on first choice targets which has been one of the reason for our decline over the years!

16 Jun 2017 10:00:53
Second and last time:

I know you don't need a window, the whole world knows that!

We are being scrutinised.
It makes sense for us to appear to be playing by the rules.
It makes sense for us to not make any announcements until the transfer window is open when we can legitimately give all the correct paperwork to the FA.

What benefit is there to announcing players before you can register them? Only benefit is it stops drama queens from having daily paddys about the club being left behind.

Quite frankly, the drama queens will have to get over it!

16 Jun 2017 10:37:19
@ Form fit and function

We could already be working on a ton of signings that no one knows about. Just because it's not out in the ether, doesn't mean it isn't happening.

16 Jun 2017 10:43:15
Ron

I will be happy if the club has completed the business behind the doors and are waiting for the window to open to announce. I am afraid that's not the case here! 🙄.

16 Jun 2017 10:57:56
Well F, F&F to know that you'd have to be Klopp or Henry or Edwards.

16 Jun 2017 11:08:10
Form Fit and Function

U have no idea. All the team at liverpool fc must be doing absolutely nothing then. Going into work every morning, just checking a few emails. Having a cup of coffee and then going home again.

Get a grip, they are working everyday to get deals done, just because we do not hear about it doesn't mean it isn't happening.

16 Jun 2017 12:10:20
I'd rather we didn't hear about the deals they might be working on after recent weeks to be honest. might be stressful to not have any Colour, but better to judge the window on results rather than Rumours.

Ed002 and Ed001.

Sky sports reporting Conte is not happy at Chelsea and could walk away.

Now we all know how unreliable Sky Sports are but. Should this be the the case, would you swap Klopp for Conte.

A bit of light hearted banter to distract away from our tapping up shenanigans.

No!
Klopp is a better fit for us.

16 Jun 2017 08:28:28
Conte snubbed ". Name your price. " deal from Inter to comitt with Chelsea. He is staying put!

16 Jun 2017 08:51:10
No - Conte is excellent but we're on a journey and Klopp's the right personality for me. conte did extremely well but had all the tools at Chelsea, think this is a different project.

16 Jun 2017 09:00:34
Oh my God ooo! Stop Stop stop listening to any one who tells you that Klopp is not good enough for LFC. These stories of he has not won anything in I don't know how many years is irrelevant, the man has managed a relegation fond Mainz and a Dortmund under the shadows of Bayern, from there he joins liverpool to compete with the real English money bags, what do you want him to do? If the so called best manager in Pep had to struggle for a top four place with all the money he spent, what do you really expect Klopp to do? Do you think he is a miracle man? Or you think Conte is now the miracle man having made Chelsea which is fond of competing at the real top of the league bar Mourinho 's last season the champions. Klopp has his short comings but he is the best thing we can have at this time. For me, he is the best signing FSG has made.

16 Jun 2017 09:15:47
Conte is a brilliant manager. But he turned up at a team which won the league the season before he was there. The team was almost the same, all the key players remained from the title winning season. All he had to do was make them believe again and he had the passion and personality to do that.

With klopp we have another brilliant manager and one that suits us, who is slowly building us up, improving the players we have and making them competive and wanting to win. There is no doubt in my mind that klopp is there right manager for us.

16 Jun 2017 09:28:02
He also added the player of the season to a title winning squad in Kante. You don't need to be a genius to do that 😄.

16 Jun 2017 11:40:10
Never had so many thumbs down! Haha.

I'm with you you all on this and I would be over the moon if Klopp delivered the domestic title.

16 Jun 2017 12:40:54
Brendan said Klopp could ring him at any time for advice on football, tans and teeth while the managing a big club. 😁.

16 Jun 2017 07:33:33
Some reports in Italy have said that Everton had an offer of £26m accepted for balde keita but he has turned down the deal. Could we not go after him as an alternative to salah at a cheaper price?

Believable2 Unbelievable4

16 Jun 2017 08:34:05
He is an excellently player in fact there are lot better than Salah for the price they are quoting. Salah for €40 mill is way way over the tops and even Roma knows it. He is Just pace! A lot of people are going to eat their words I am afraid. His goals has come mainly on counter attacks and I am afraid liverpool dominate possession, He is nothing like Mane. We need someone as intelligent and creative as Coutinho with pace!

16 Jun 2017 08:37:41
Juventus will sign him.

16 Jun 2017 09:00:21
Hez an absolute pain in thr ass.

Do you know that the reason he isn't at Barcelona anymore is because he was kicked out of la decima as a punishment for his behavior.

Hes got the ronaldo attitute but not the work rate. Top top top player but attitude is awful, if klopp couldn't manage sakho then id leave this kid alone.

Also my worries exactly about salah boss. I haven't seen much of him taking people on one on one, its always seems to be with pace. Part of the reason i don't think he got in the chelsea team, very possession based.

I disagrre that we need another coutinho though, id take lemar and mendy as all our transfer business myself like. that's are left side sorted for years. Witb top top players who work brilliantly together.

16 Jun 2017 09:11:29
We need someone like coutinho with pace? Name that player please cos it sounds like you're describing the perfect footballer. Ronaldinho?

16 Jun 2017 09:15:16
Should go back to Julian Brandt. He is exactly what we miss! I am sure people have not seen the lad play. The way he picks out players is sublime. He will bring a lot more than just PACE!

16 Jun 2017 09:27:59
Zeppelin

Lorenzo Insigne, Julian Brandt ( potential but certain to be a world beater ) Duglous Costa, Thomas Lemar.
I man not responsible if you find similarities between Salah and Leroy Sane!

16 Jun 2017 09:32:30
FF and F seems to want to big-up players we are not linked to - Keita Balde and Brandt whilst slagging off players we are linked to.

Maybe we should have signed Kovacic, Insigne and Schneiderlin 🙄.

16 Jun 2017 09:51:00
Exactly Ron.

Harry, you say Salah relies on his pace? So does Mane, our player of the season last year!

Honestly, Brandt reminds me of Adam Lallana. Great vision and passing but no really speed or ability to stretch a game or push teams back.

16 Jun 2017 10:41:23
Salah was involved in something like 30+ goals for Roma last season including assists and goals scored. Obviously not good enough for LFC though.

16 Jun 2017 10:41:25
Are we not linked to Brandt, Ron?

16 Jun 2017 10:48:05
Lallana has no vision and passing. So please you need get over with the obsession. He is no where near to anything that people claim here. Hence Coutinho drops into the middle instead of Lallana to pick the player including his own runs! He has no role if there exist no space to move around.
Brandt is more like KDB and not even remotely to Lallana.
Mane is an intelligent footballer who has pace! But not pace alone.

Players like Townsend, Bolasie, Gayle, Downing are the proper out and out winger like Salah except Salah scored goals l!

I am sure you are coming from the back of YouTube videos of Salah and his goals. I have seen Roma play full 90 mts.

16 Jun 2017 12:49:47
Have you considered that the username 'Fourth Form Function' may be more apt?

16 Jun 2017 06:48:16
Anyone know any detail of Man City's Nolito? Seemed to be a good acquisition early last season but now surplus. Is he any good?

Believable0 Unbelievable8

16 Jun 2017 07:15:40
Was quality at Celta and seemed to be getting better with age. He had an okay start at city but then got thrown to the side and dropped for Sane. I think a poor work ethic was mentioned. He's now saying he hasn't settled in England and wants a move back to Spain.

16 Jun 2017 06:11:36
Congrats to our neighbours Everton, signed two of their first choice targets. Paid the price wanted and squad improved. Can see them doing a great push next season. With Utd and City also capable of buying players already, looks like an exciting season ahead.

You say that but is klassan any better then Barkley? Is Pickford that good? 50m spent and no guarenties. End of the day there gunna be busy this summer over the park with Barkley and lukaku probably leaving for good money and the extra sky money they will be kids in a sweet shop, fair play tho I'm not bitter I think Barkley on his day is great but as stones was last year he goes missing far to much and has errors in his game. Lukaku is mr lazy.

16 Jun 2017 07:16:59
I'm not sold on Klaasen but I think Pickford is a great signing and it's a problem position for Everton.

16 Jun 2017 10:43:41
I must have missed something with Pickford. What did he do last season for Sunderland that made him worth £30m?

{Ed001's Note - conceded lots of goals? They have bought him for his distribution, not for his goalkeeping. His distribution is top class.}

16 Jun 2017 11:35:12
I think he's more than just that ed, I watched him a lot playing for Preston and he looked special and looked good every time I saw him last season for Sunderland and won their player of the year (probably not the hardest achievement) . I would have been over the moon if we signed him.

{Ed001's Note - I did a player profile on him recently and I was not particularly impressed, good but ridiculously overrated and at fault on a hell of a lot of goals, plus error prone.}

16 Jun 2017 11:49:07
Good move for Pickford, he will play in what has been a problem position for Everton, will be interesting to see how he develops.
Barkley is in my opinion an average English player who is overhyped, Klassen will consistently perform even if not spectacular he will put in a shift. I really don't think Everton will miss Barkley at all next season and would expect them to improve overall as a team and club.

16 Jun 2017 12:20:53
Who will Barkley join? i don't see him as a regular in any top 6 team.

17 Jun 2017 07:39:52
But they've gone out early and signed two players. No problem solving two areas they needed and both first choice. Polar opposite of some teams. Yes both signings will improve them, they were the managers first pick.

16 Jun 2017 04:08:30
Hi ed's is there any interest in Juan Bernat from Bayern?
