Why are some pool fans happy to put stupid prices on players heads like 13mil for downing and 15mill for Enrique? I'll be mad if we sign average players at these prices! also 9mill for Adam is a joke! And we wonder how clubs get into debt! We should buy quality players only! I'd get in baines 8mill, defour 8mill, benzema 20mill and a.Johnson 14mill and I'd pick up mcarthy from Wigan when they get relegated, I would also go for arshavin! If we can't get benzema I'd go for lorente again

So funny to see people posting that King Kenny is going to buy one big player and introduce the youth more, trying to fool us into thinking they actually know, when we've all seen it on the Liverpool website in 'transfer gossip'.

Are we going to split that 1 player into 2 wide players, Has Kenny found a way of doing this. Could save us millions, Why even bother posting this rubbish when it is obliviously wrong. {Ed007's Note - Is the "big" player Charlie Adam??}

You love Charlie Adam Ed007. After today's performance, I think he should get his coat, and switch the lights off, when he leaves.

A host of clubs are looking at Papiss Demba Cisse dubbed the next eto'o he is having a excellent season in the bundeliga playing for Freiburg do you think its worth a go ? he wouldn't be expensive at all !

16 Apr 2011 22:59:08
With the rumoured 80-100m that dalglish has to spend, I think the best option would be to secure the services of:
Cissokho 12m
Santon 12m
Ganso 14m
M'vila 18m
Sanchez 30m

In my opinion, this would give our team more pace, strength and depth and I believe that this could potentially be a Premier League winning side.

What do you think ed? {Ed001's Note - I think the best option would be to let Dalglish choose the players.}

Adam Johnson could be a real possibility for LFC.

Johnson had limited playing time with city since the arival of Silva.
It is also known that Johnson and Mancini have not been seeing eye to eye, with Johnson publicly insulting Mancini after there 5-0 victory over Sunderland saying; that Man city owed their victory to the club owner who gave a pep talk to city players before the game.

KD think Johnson can become a world class central midfielder with more playing time.

Part of me wants to say f##k off Owen. He let us down going to the scum. But can you blame him he had nowhere else to go.

All the good times he gave us then leaving
But guessing there's not been a day he's not regretted it.
2005 CL winners medal missed, But how much did Rafa want him?
He could of had him back but said no every time.

Hard to forgive I know, but prodigal son returns,
but maybe there's unfinished business for us all and maybe one last chance for Micheal Owen

If it's true that he maybe on his way back to us, I will be willing to forgive the past if he's going to show a leval of comitment that's been lacking for the last 6 years at other clubs.

I was 10 years old at the time of the Hillsborough distaster - at the time I was desperate to be the next Grobbelaar, all my classmates had an LFC jersey & we took it for-granted we would win everything. As such a young boy it was difficult for me to take in the sheer magnitude of what happened that day. I made sure when I got older that I would visit that stadium (I watched Owen score a hatrick there) and the feeling was without compare. One of my most loved bands - The manic Street Preachers wrote a song on the subject - it remains one of my my most cherished songs to this day - not for the song itself - but the content - exert as below.

South South Yorkshire - mass murderer
How can you sleep at night, sleep at night

The reason for this song
Well maybe it's a pointless one
But thank you Jimmy McGovern
For reminding me of what lives on.

YNWA - all of the 96 & their families.

Adzii {Ed001's Note - is he the one that moves like a rocket? Nicknamed Dynamite or something similar? I have heard the name mentioned, though it's spelt Guerron isn't it? Or am I thinking of someone completely different? Only the lad I am thinking of is Ecuadorian, but I have not heard him linked with us sorry.}
, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,
had a look at him on yt, bygeez the lad can run, he would be liverpools answer to former rugby league player, Martin Offiah, there was nobody on 2 legs that could catch him, jimmybosun,

A name mentioned little, Roberto Soldado, cracking player, much like the rest of the Valencia team, though he was only bought recently they do have Aduriz for backup who is also a good player. Would be a great signing and add another dimension to the squad. He's also good as a lone striker.

Also perhaps Hernandez as Mata would be very difficult to get. Valencia are a very class side at the moment.

Thanks Ed.

Ed is there any truth in that niko kranjar repersentives have contacted liverpool about a move ?

Also I read that renia is in the second stage of signing a new contact ( what ever the second stage is I haven't got a clue) ?

Thanks

Welshred

{Ed002's Note - There is pleanty of interest in Kranjcar from Italy - I don't know that there has been contact with Liverpool but it is possible.}
- - - - - - - -

Krankjar is only a backup choice if we miss out on other targets. Liverpool contacted spurs and asked for a price and if hed be interested.
This is part of our new transfer strategy this year by comoli. So if we miss out on players we would potencially have a player lined up already. cause in recent years if we missed out on players we would simply go without. (makes total sense really)
Trust me, we are in for better players than niko.

No mate I won't be calling for KK's head but obviously you would rather he wasnt the manager because if you had your way Rafa would still be in charge. I wasn't looking for any negatives when Rafa was in charge but unfortunately they became too obvious to ignore. I know Rafa was a great manager and I know a lot of blame lies with the yanks but it was Rafa's team selections and Rafa's tactics (not to mention the Alonso mess) that cost us valuable points week after week. I hold him in the highest regard for what he has done for Liverpool, the club and the city. I just felt he had run his course. Don't slaughter me just because your opinion differs to mine let's just stand full square behind our manager now and stop all this yearning for old managers and players. I believe the future is bright so let's concentrate on that.

Don't think that anyone who pulled your comment is yearning for Rafa to come back while the king's on his throne mate. I personally just felt compelled to pull somebody (you) because they are clearly looking at the few bad points from a top manager's reign at our club to make out he was some sort of Roy Hodgson.

All in all he had one bad season. End of story my friend.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
Actually there is an awful lot more to the story "my friend" but I'm not going to bother anymore, as another poster pointed out the argument is futile. You have your point of view and I have mine so let's put them to one side and concentrate on the future can we?

Chris in Tamworth

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I'm sure that the story would have more points than a Icosahedron if we based them all on personal opinion pal. To be honest, it was more the point from No1SAfan that got me. No1 Sir Alex Fan? or No1 South African/ American Fan?? Who knows. but like you say, can we look at the bright future with out current manager. Yes we can! (my friend) ;)

Hi Guys
Although I'm a Man United fan and I'm a day late I would like to pass on my best wishes to everybody that was involved and affected by yesterdays ceremony.Its times like this when the banter has to stop and the footballing community as a whole should come together and think of those who lost loved ones who were supporting their teams.
Once again my heart goes out to you all.

Bazza.

And also to any other teams fans who posted on here yesterday.
It means a lot.

Man City want Alberto Aquilani this summer. Roberto Mancini is known to be an admirer of the Italian international and hopes to lure the creative midfielder to Eastlands. Maybe a swap deal with Adam johnson or james milner coming to anfield. I know who i would like to c in the team alone with some of the younger players being given more of a role lie they are at the moment and i believe one or two more players would make us a top 4 team and could make the future of the club a more successful one than it has been in last season and a bit.

Ed this is not a rumour but what do you think of the idea of us offering to city Aqulani and asking for Johnson in return

If West Ham go down, I would love to see us make a move for Scott Parker. He might be available at a discount considering West Ham's relegation, and as he's basically carried a whole football club on his back for a couple years now, I think he could do some good things as a Red.

"Some would say that we finished second in spite of Rafa and that we could have won the league that year but for Rafa's failings. Also nice to see you pick out all his very good signings and only mention one of his bad ones! That picture is a bit skewed. You are obviously one of the "in Rafa we trust" brigade who, and let's not beat about the bush on this, watched us decline badly with bad team selections and poor tactics while blindly supporting a man who I respect greatly but who had obviously lost his way. "

So what you are just going to look for negatives? Think positive. You will probably be the first one who will calling for Dalglish's head when we are not doing well. Alonso + Masch + Torres + Kuyt + Reina = easily makes up for his bad signings. No one is perfect.

Some would say that we finished second in spite of Rafa and that we could have won the league that year but for Rafa's failings.

Sorry but I had to comment on this one. Is it just me, or does anybody else believe that all these Rafa haters need a good word with themselves in the nearest shop window or maybe just the bathroom mirror, so that they can come to terms that they are talking from their rusty sheriffs badges?

You can throw the bad signings into the mix, as well as last season where we finished 7th. You can post links and figures to show how much was spent and recouped. whatever.
All I know is that people started getting disgruntled at the first sniff of decline in the team, and turned on our then manager. In reality when you use your own 2 eyes, ears and brain, the man was consistently in the champions league and brought us back to being a force in Europe. And that also answers the questions about his consistency in the league as we wouldn't have been able to compete in the champions league if we weren't.

I remember it all well, and it all coincides with the ownership issue getting worse and worse. You can give me your Rafa was in control of all things team related and the blame has to be laid at his door line, but numerous managers would have crumbled much earlier under the circumstances Rafa worked under. Like I say, I'll use my own mind to come to any conclusions of Rafa over the term he managed our great club, and the only let down I can think of (besides from a few dodgy signings, but he's not alone) is the fact that we finished 7th after we finished 2nd, and obviously expectations were high for challenging for the league. No matter who agrees or disagrees, Rafa was a top manager in all but one off season, top man and an honorary scouser, no matter who has an opinion otherwise because that's the reality of it.

Cheers

So the Americans didn't have an affect and that Purslow dictating the signings had nothing to do with it? Is it a coincidence that Rafa won two trophies in his first two years but when the yanks started interfering with things he won none? We also lost in Athens because none of the die hard season ticket fans were there because of the new ticket allocation, meaning only fan card holders got tickets. And is it also a coincidence that now we have new owners theings are looking bright again, both on and off the pitch? Rafa was a great manager!

So what you are just going to look for negatives? Think positive. You will probably be the first one who will calling for Dalglish's head when we are not doing well. Alonso + Masch + Torres + Kuyt + Reina = easily makes up for his bad signings. No one is perfect.

I for one am happy that Kuyt has signed an extension. He is a great role model for the youngsters and has a tremendous attitude on and off the pitch. I think if each and everyone of our player has the exact same attitude as him, we'd never lose a game. The slack he gets from some sections of the fans here is unwarranted and ridiculous. Even van marwijk said during the WC that Kuyt's name is the first on the team sheet. Besides that he never complains, moan or sulk whatever is the situation. Kenny obviously knows how valuable he is to our squad, hence he has given him the extension. Pity some of our 'supporters' don't feel the same way. . .

Hi ed who are we likely to sign as our third striker? {Ed005's Note - Not sure mate, bids were made for many strikers.}
Agbonlahor/ Defoe would do me. Benzema would want first team football and would be expensive. same for Gomez. i personally would prefer a striker with pace as a third choice so id go for Agbonlahor.Hulk is also another alternative but he would be very expensive and he would have to leave champions league football to join us!

6-0 is 6-0.
We started just 4 U-18's today and withdrew 1 for the reserve game on monday. The FA youth cup game was not a fair yard stick either as there was a dodgy refereeing decision at a critical time in that game. KI'd take our u18 and u17 and u16 over the mancs current batch any day.

Can we please stop the crap regarding Liverpool and the transfer market. Firstly no one outside the club knows details of the future transfer budget. Secondly cut out the rumours/ guessing about mediocre players signing for Liverpool, we will buy the best players we can that fit the needs of the team, and the future plans of the Manager. We will not buy players who are not as good as the ones we already have, just because the papers say so or becaause they are British. Most home grown players are really poor value for money.

Thirdly this is a rumour site, not a I am guessing site , or I made this up last night and decided to share my fantasy will you site, or this was printed on another crap site or in a lieing newpaper so I copied it to this site and claim it as my rumour.

So please this is a really good site most of the time only let down by berks, And Ed please can we insist the posters add a name so they can be identified with there posts. It noticable most of the good rumour are from a named contibutor, ie Blair Mayne

Please post on the rumours page.

Fair point Ed001, although that kind of money is lost by every football team, and comes as no fault of rafa's. The club sold a lot more shirts than ever before due to his signing of Torres, and he put Liverpool back on the football map with his CL success. I by no means want him back, but he deserves his credit where its due.
He cost us hardly anything in the long run. The club made a lot of merchandise money because of him, and his success in lots of competitions meant more games and therefore more revenue. He didn't fail, or waste hundreds of millions like he is constantly accused of.

Anway, Perdictions and preferations for tommorrows line-up?

Predict:
Reina,
Flanagan, Carragher, Skrtel, Aurelio
Spearing, Lucas, Meireles
Kuyt, Carroll, Suarez

Prefer:
Whatever the king picks!

YNWA! (Adam) {Ed001's Note - but the fault was his because he couldn't work with players to improve them, the coaching at the club was awful apart from fitness under Pako. The blame has to be laid at his door because he was the man in charge and he has to take responsibility for the revolving door. If the coaching had been better we could have worked with some of his buys and improved them. But instead Rafa would look to replace them, costing huge sums and causing the players to have to knit all over again after each transfer window.}

Maybe we could buy Bilyaletinov (spelling) or Venegoor of Hesselenk. I've also heard John W Henry has saved loades of money on his car insurance, so we will be battling it out with Plymouth to sign Dietmar van Nostrilboy.

The guy is a horouree scouser in the mould od Xabi or Molby and should be given his due. It's not his fault he plays out of position but you never ever hear him complain. Great man Great worker and all round Great person. He deserves his contract as he earns it.

Liverweb.org.uk/ benitez.asp

Please post this link Ed's. We need to dispel the Rafa Rumours of wasted cash. This list of in's and outs is without the £50m for Torres and £6.7m for Babel. All in all Rafa only cost us his wages and:

£229, 125,000
-
£148, 130,000
-
£50,000,000
-
£6, 700,000
-
Whatever Aquilani sells for (a low estimate of £10m, could be higher)
=
£14, 295,000

Thats was Rafa's net spend with which he won a champions league, an F.A. Cup, two more minor trophies and left us with a squad which was no weaker than what we originally had when he turned up. In the long run, we didn't improve, however he gave us some nights to remember. The fact he kept us competitive spending only £80, 995,000 in 5 seasons (An average of £16, 199,000 a season) is impressive. And in the long run, he has cost us relatively nothing after the sales of 3 more of HIS signings.

YNWA! (Adam)

P.S. Long live the Rafa fan club, but there's a new King in town, so lets get behind him! {Ed001's Note - this kind of list is utter nonsense, it makes no mention of the players' signing bonuses (which are in the millions) and their wages. By having such a high turnover of players Rafa cost us millions on top of these figures. The players that leave also get a percentage of their remaining contract paid up, which also adds to the huge sums that went out of the club. None of those figures are included in these lists, which is why they are just nonsense.}

Great to see Kuyt get a new contract the player should be an example to all the youth players, if they put a shift in like he does they won't go far wrong. All the talk of buying a third striker i think we already have one in Dirk.

I caught some of the under 18's today and there are alot of really good players. Apart from the obvious Sterling and Morgan a player that really stood out for me was the defender Sama, he look calm on the ball and look solid with out it. I think before the club spend £20m on Gary Cahill why not give the players we already have a chance, with Ayala probably being the closest to being ready.

And it looks like Kenny will finally be given the recognition he deserves, but what would it be 'Sir King Kenny' abit wordy lol.

As I've said before on here Rafa will always have a special relationship with Liverpool, the club, the fans and the city however, he had run his course in terms of being manager. In fact we held on a bit too long because of our respect for the man when really he should have gone sooner
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
So your saying we should have got rid of him the summer before after we had just had the best season since we won the league. It was the Americans' and Purslow's fault we went into decline, not Rafa's. Oh, and for those who say he was poor in the transfer window;

Torres
Mascherano
Alonso
Reina
Kuyt
Agger
Skrtel
Johnson
Garcia
Benayoun

All quality players! There was obviously some bad signings (like Zenden) but there is at any club and Man U and Chelsea have wasted more money than we have, but people who can't develop their own opinions just listen to the media which ignores Chelsea an Man U's signings an jumps on Rafa's back!

I can catagorically tell you all now that Charlie Adam will NOT be playing for Liverpool next season or any other season.
Liverpool will invest in another midfielder in the summer but the likes of Defour and Banega are more favourable as they offer a better long term solution.

Kenny praising kuyt in today's echo, Kenny get a grip lad, he played well the other nite but 1 decent game in 20 doesn't warrant praise, we need pace pace and more pace if we are to get to were we want to be and that's top of the prem! ! and we won't get that with the chug chug chug of kuyt and brazil's best
Shut up and give the lad some credit done as best he can and has always been there for the big occasion and never hides. Not the best player but def worth his place in the squad. The Dutch coach can't be wrong either can he???

Great first half from the u18 suad against united. Some outstanding play from tony sylva (spelling! ) to score 2, the second one being a great solo effort beating 4 players. We go into the break 2-0 up, but could be more with young adam morgan missing a sitter to continue his impressive run of goals. .

Spanish Scouser, so you would rather have Kuyt then Bale? I thought we had knowledgeable supporters, dear me! Bale hype is a bit OTT but the lad is and will be a class act

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

i wasn't saying that i would rather have Kuyt over Bale, that was just to show that he hasn't been all that special in the league and that i feel there are better options to choose from. My choice for left wing would be Marcelo from Real Madrid because he has the same pace as Bale, but i feel he is a better dribbler who can also pick a pass and cross better

As afriend pointed out to me the other day
Dirk Kuyt has 9 goals and 5 assists in 27 games. Gareth Bale has 7 goals and 1 assist in 26 games!
Nani has 10 goals in 35 games

Nani has 9 goals and 18 assists in 26 prem starts.

I think we should buy one BIG NAME just for the mentality of the squad. Reina will be more motivated to continue in LFC. {Ed002's Note - It is a great way to really screw things up, buying a player because of his name rather than because he can improve the squad.}

I think you need to get a grip, part of the reason suarez has been so amazing is in part due to dirk. i think next season we will see him employed much more as a player used sparingly as a squad player.

Damien comolli will be going to watch freiberg Play this weekend to get a report on top scorer papis cisse. He is described as an adebayor-esque player who bags plenty of goals. He will provide backup for Carroll and Suarez if he gets the approval of Comolli. A fee between 8-12 million would secure him.
Any thoughts ed?

Liverpool will sign two left backs in the summer, to provide sufficient cover in that area. Enrique is done and will join in the summer for £9 million. The most likely other lb signing is Izaguirre from Celtic. We have and will continue to inquire about Contreau though we have been rebuffed and it looks also as though we will be priced out of the market by Bayern Munich or possibly Real Madrid. Contreau is ideally looking for Champions league football.
Cheers, Al.

I don't think Mallorca will be spending 3.5mil on anyone. They are stone broke floating just above the administration zone. Michael Laudrup is doing a great job with no cash.
Malaga is who I hear is interested in him and maybe a return to Espanyol but figs reported are close to 1.5 - 2mil so we can forget our 5-8mil asking prices.
14 + players will leave in the summer as said before

David Amoo - 500k
Alberto Aquilani - 12mil
Joe Cole - 4mil
Stephen Darby - 250k
Stephen Irwin - 250k
Brad Jones - 2mil
Milan Jovanovic - 4mil
Paul Konchesky - 1.5mil
Sotirios Kyriakos - free
David Ngog - 3mil
Victor Palsson - 250k
Daniel Pacheco - 2mil
Maxi Rodriguez - 1.5mil
Christian Poulsen - 1.5mil
Total - 32.75mil
Plus other youngsters not needed to leave on free transfers and free up the wage bill. Some of englands best youngsters will be purchased like Carson of Ipswich etc. .
What do you thinks eds all will go??????

I see where you coming from and probably agree it should be longer however from the owners point of view he is now 30, nearly 31. The contract is an extension which is until the end of 2013 season, by which time he will be pretty much 33.
There is nothing stopping him signing an additional contract on top of this, however by the I suspect he won't be such a major part of the first team and so the thinking might be he might be on a slightly lesser contract. I don't know, I'm just suggesting it could be the case.

As I've said before on here Rafa will always have a special relationship with Liverpool, the club, the fans and the city however, he had run his course in terms of being manager. In fact we held on a bit too long because of our respect for the man when really he should have gone sooner. I will always hold him in great affection but I do not want him back as manager, although I would be happy to see him back with the club if he could find a way to accept a smaller role.

Why is everyone going on about bale, he isn't even that good! how he is nominated for player of the season is beyond me. IMO, it is just the media hyping him up for one champions league performance and everyone following the bandwagon. he only has 7 goals and 1 assist in the league, and hasn't contributed a goal or assist since January 1st. if you compare this to Dirk Kuyt, he has 8 goals and 6 assists, yet you don't here all the hype about him. i am seriously struggling here to see why he has been rated one of the best players in the world and would like to be enlightened to how you have reached the opinion that he is worth anything like 30 million.

Summer targets have to be

S. Kjaer Wolfsburg centre half. 12 million
D. Santon Inter left or right back or wing. 10 million
K. Honda CSKA anywhere in attack or midfield. 14 million
S. Defour Liege centre midfield. 10 million
S. Cazorla Villereal winger. 14 million
E. Banega Valencia centre midfield. 12 million.
A. Sanchez Udinese winger. 30 million marquee signing.
S. Canales R. Madrid anywhere in midfield 12 million.

All of these are young brilliant technical players with sell on value if they ever moved on.

Ed would you take the above? I think all of them could adapt quite well to the premier league. {Ed002's Note - Some are viable, some are not.}

For me we don't need a Bale (great player) but would be in complete ecstasy if we signed the below five this summer.

A. Sanchez Udinese 30 million marquee signing.
S. Defour Liege 10-12 million.
S. Canales R. Madrid 10-14 million.
S. Cazorla Villereal 15 million.
E. Banega Valencia 14 million.

Sell Rodriguez, Aqualani, Jovanavic, Degan, Insua, Poulsen and Kyriagos to raise 30 million.

Leaves 50 million to find and we could assemble the greatest midfield in perm for a decade.

Gerrard is not getting any younger and we would also have Meirelles, Cole and Marvuaex for the midfield. We would only need say three signings to cover other positions and we would be unbeatable.

D. Santon 10 million.
K. Honda 14 million.
S. Kjaer 12 million.

No one could touch our team with these additions and our youngsters, would you take these Ed? I think they are all viable.

S. Kjaer

{Ed002's Note - Some are viable and some are not.}

Mallorca have offered Liverpool £3.25mil for Maxi Rodriguez (looks likely to be accepted). Atletico Madrid are also interested Daniel Ayala, but LFC have told them he is not for sale. Finally Emiliano Insua has told Liverpool he is willing to fight for a place in the squad once he returns from loan. Although there has been interest from several clubs from Spain and Italy in the last few weeks.

The 15th of April, of every year, is not just a day for Liverpool Football Club, it is a Day for Football.
It is a day when all teams, and their fans, no matter of any rivalries, for ALL of Football to come together and show our Support for the Families of the 96 fans who didn't make it home from supporting their team.

It is not a day for Arguements or Banter, it is a Day to show the Families they are not alone, and we Football Fans, from ALL teams, are with them and support them over the deaths of the 96.

Seems so stupid, it took the deaths of 257 Fans of Football to show that Standing should NOT be allowed.
257 INNOCENT Fans of the game they loved and payed to watch, had to die to show the World why Seating was required. Disgraceful.

JFT96.

Ps. You Liverpool fans should be Very Grateful that Rafael Benitez was ar Anfield today to give his support!

MPez {Ed007's Note - Every fan has been a credit to their club on here today, again, well done guys}

"To all the deluted liverpool fans who would any of the spurs players play for them. bale is worth at least 60mil don't know were you got 30mil from you payed 35mil for caroll and bale is much better than him as for modric personaly i don't see him going to liverpool because you lot play rubish football you just kick it up der and cross it! ! liverpool aint winning nothing for a good 5-6 years thay don't have it in them there like arsenal fragile! ! you think caroll and suares can win you the leauge you had alonso, masharoano and toress and still couldnt win it {Ed005's Note - LOL, you call Liverpool fans deluded yet value Bale at £60m? Also, perhaps some spelling lessons or even spell check would come in handy before posting what already is a paragraph of dribble.}"

- LOL! I'm a regular on the United site but this made me LOL! a lot!

Bale? £60 Million? a player that's had one good year in 2010 and has failed to come up with the goods in every single one of his 'big' games bar the first Inter Milan game. I think it's hilarious the way Yids put him in the same bracket as Messi and Ronaldo!

Modric probably won't sign for them but he certainly won't be with you next year if you don't finish 4th. i must of seen about 10 articles and they all show Modric himself saying he WILL be playing champions League football next year regardless.

As for the way liverpool play? Well they've only started doing that since Carroll signed. .No disrespect but Maxi and Kuyt aren't the best crossers of the ball and Torres wasn't the best header of a ball, so how you worked out their style of play is beyond me. . Correct me if i'm wrong but didn't you play through the middle with Gerrard and Torres linking up?

they won't win anything for the next 5-6 seasons? bit rich considering Spurs haven't won a major honour in decades (the carling cup is not a major honour). I think liverpool will start winning again but it won't be for a few years as they've got to rebuild a team, which of course is understandable.

You've got Modric, Van Der Vaart, Bale (who is so over-rated), Lennon, Palacios, Gallas, Niko, Huddlestone, Dawson, Defoe, Crouch, Pavy, the list goes on! and you can't even break the top 4 this season!

Last year you guys over achieved in my opinion.

Well. i have one last thing to say, why am i, of all people sticking up for Scousers? lol.

The Moon.

How many drinks has this guy had??? The spelling is woeful and the content is laughable.
'you lot play rubish football you just kick it up der and cross it' - Have you watched a liverpool game? Is this not what Tottenham do? Dawson long to Lennon down the wing, cross to Crouch?

Can people stop calling Charlie Adam, 'Charlie Adams'.
I know it is being very picky, but it annoys me.

Thanks

Standard Chartered are big in Asia but want to expand their business as have said that Liverpool should sign a top Asian player to help them expand their business opportunities in a tough Asian market and would also add quality to the Liverpool squad.

Ed, I have heard that Standard Chartered themselves are prepared to fund the transfer of Keisuke Honda out of their own company money in order to brand themselves further in Asia, and also help Liverpool break the Asian market and become a well recognised team in the Far East. My contact is usually quite reliable but he has heard this from a source unknown to himself. What is your take on this? Thanks.

O'Dell. {Ed001's Note - highly unlikely, Liverpool are already extremely well known in Asia, there would be no need to buy a player to break the Asian market, after all Torres' Liverpool shirt was the biggest selling shirt in Asia.}

also, far east/ asia isn't one country, by buying a japanese player, we aren't appealling to all of asia, just japan, and then in japan, fans of honda. i was in china for the world cup and the country is football mad, over 500 MILLION in china itself watched spain v holland. if we wanna hit asia, we wanna hit china, and i'm sure that FSV will know that, but by tapping into china, we won't need chinese players

KENNY DALGLISH has finally agreed terms to become permanent manager of Liverpool.
Kop legend Dalglish took temporary charge of the Reds after Roy Hodgson was axed in January.

There has been constant speculation the former Liverpool striker would agree to a second spell as full-time boss.

Dalglish, 60, settled terms on a deal believed to cover the next three seasons.

The Mersey giants expect to announce it at the end of the season.

They are also close to agreeing a permanent three-year contract with Anfield No 2 Steve Clarke.

I definetly agree Kenny should be Knighted, his work throughout the appalling hours, days months years and now decades have been invaluable to both the families and the country as a whole, OUR people died that day, when i say OUR i mean football fans up and down the length and bredth of this land, England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. We all love the game, some say we would die for it. . . .but would we. . . these people didn't get the chance to answer that question, the 15th of April, my Birthday, will and always has been a day of reflection in my eyes, and im humbled, i pray that the lost souls are still in the enclosures. . . and they are singing their teams song. . . . and they will never walk alone. . . . ever!

I know alot of people want these big name signings for the club such as elia and turan. but i feel the perfect signing for us at the moment would be downing, as he always get a cross in to the box, which would be good for carrol and he gets his fair share of goals as well.
