The Ed's here can confirm my IP was one the most vocal negative posters after the opening against WBA.

But I'm seeing the idea, when fans said I had "to understand the system" I saw it as niave.

But this setup is good, potential to be great. I'm not gonna go "lucky/unlucky" like the feeling we all got last year, we're not quite there yet but I can see us schooling a Chelsea/MU/MC before the end of the season. We make the right passes >50% of the time today, another 6 months I think we turn them into better chances.

Not gonna use In Rodgers I trust, it's a re=hash. Brendon is the light/salvation

Rather than asking the Eds to confirm your IP address, a much quicker and simpler solutiom would be to leave your name...

How did jonjo shelvey get 90 mins.Give Hendo chance in centre. If Enrique is fit for bench he is fit to start.

Because shelvey is better than hendo?
JJ blackpool (should have kept ince but im not complaining)

Sahin last 15 minute

Hendo even sucked when he played for england u21 against norway u21.

Jonjo looked tired. not really good enough from a professional who's 20

Actually I'm sick and tired of the Shelvey brigade going on and on. He was simply disgraceful in the first half BUT did put in a slightly better second half. He is just not good enough and has an awful choice to success ratio in terms of useful passes!

Gerrard should have come off wfor the last 15mins but i think BR is scared to take gerrard off at any time other than if we leading 3-0 because of the grief gerrard will give him.

15 Sep 2012 23:10:12
Did anyone else think gerrard looked injured today? Well that or he just wasn't interested, he seems to be getting lazy in his movement he's not closing players down, not really driving forward or making him self availible and not playing like a captain should.

he's an absolute legend but He's making more mistakes than anyone in he middle and slows play down when he gets the ball. I just can't see a place for I'm when Lucas is fit again, Shelvey and Allen are really coming on and Lucas is the only thing missing from our midfield.

I also noticed once we get past the half everyone takes up positions waiting to receive the ball but no one drops deeper to give the person on the ball viable options leading to either log balls or having to pass back to retain possession, our movement off the ball is the problem with our attacking play.

Gerrard can't play like 2 years a go. he is more a England player rather then Liverpool

I'd cut Gerrard some slack for today mate. He's had an emotional week, as we all have, but especially him. Did you see his eyes in the post match interview? He looked knackered.

Gillinho

Yeah i get you..

we also shouldn't be in the final third in our side of the half at all. if we are under pressure then they should be able to get out of it without going to the GK that's waaaaayyyy to far back.

and it says something when a 17yr is star performer for liverpool.

suarez had a mild game at best but he did what he gets paid to do which is score so can't be too critical.

Gerrard.....who?

Stevie G sort it out i know everyone is entitled to bad form but you need a few lessons on the basics....first touch, ground passing and some enthusiasm would hurt.

Well brendon Rodgers wanted to create history, he's done that alright worst start in 100 years !! Well done brendon pure class. Red pete

Season has only just started give it a rest we have had some tough games dont expect top 4 this season i just hope we play well and improve with the system.next year im hoping for bigger things.
JJ blackpool

Think you are wrong with your facts

Actually the op's facts are spot on...our worse start since 1911 since it's the first time since then we haven't won one of our opening 4 games! Doesn't matter which way you work it out the op is correct!

15 Sep 2012 22:55:04
Right, I'm not having this criticism of Gerrard today. He was substantially better today than the three previous games. Just because he's not banging them in from 30 yards doesn't mean he's playing 'poorly'. I personally think he was our best player today, much better work rate than of late and played very well next to Allen. He was up against Cattermole, who is a right pain in the arse, kept him nice and quiet, won his 'battle against him. Stop thinking you're being edgy complaining about him. I seen a raft of comments after the Arsenal game calling for Shelvey to replace Gerrard... I like Shelvey but he had a very poor game today in my opinion. Also, Fabio Borini - Why is this guy apparently immune from criticism because it's his fourth league start? He was anonymous yet again. Rant over.

Gerrard is not as good as he was but he is still better than most. Critics need to lay off him, he is the same as everybody else and still learning a new method of playing.

Shelvey has got talent but can be frustrating. To me, he's not good enough to be a regular but, as a squad player can be getting some games to help him progress. Having said that, I think Suso is far superior to him in vision, technical ability, passing and goal threat. It is mystifying why he hasn't yet been given his chance - yet another mistake by Rodgers in my opinion.

redmersey

Theres none so blind as those who cannot see! Gerrard played well today. Granted, he might not be the dynamic player of yesteryear, but he still has quality.

I actually like the way the team is set up, but im still disappointed we did not add to our squad. That could be our down fall when we get injuries. Borini needs a couple to go in of his shin to get him up and running

The Irish Rover

Good assessment of both SG's and Shelvey's games today. I'm also with the poster that suggested Suso is definitely worth occasionally. BUT what stood out was that Borini through the middle is not working out...the whole team played better when Suarez went into the middle!

15 Sep 2012 22:48:47
Looks like Alex Ferguson's youth policy is still working well. He's started to give Michael Oliver games and, judging by the Wellbeck penalty incident, it's already starting to pay dividends.

15 Sep 2012 22:44:54
A very encouraging game I thought. We are coming on leaps and bounds and very soon someone is going to get absolutely flattened. Johnson is playing better than he has done for a long time and in my opinion was man of the match. Shelvey seems to be improving all the time and even Downing is starting to be a bit more effective. RED LENIN

How can you say downing imporoved?his play today was shocking!couldnt beat any men and his deliveries wer absolutely shcoking!1 of of the worst players in liverpools history imo {Ed063's Note - He made a difference today, he was the reason why Sterling started to destroy Danny Rose. Downing stretched the pitch creating more space for Sterling on the other side. He was alright today}

15 Sep 2012 22:16:45
Ok Suarez has scored again, but let's not beat around the bush he was shocking same against city. Gerrard can't pass anymore and don't get me started on Borini! Even downing looked better than him! Shelvey did himself no favours today and sterling we can all see what the boys got! The Sunderland goal was a shambles and we got some luck scoring ours. Personally think its time to move glen Johnson to the wing! He looks like one of the only players who can skin his man. BR it ain't workin, u need a whole new squad. People go on about what he did at Swansea but Martinez started it!

Gerrard cant pass? Are you on something?

Shelvey did well downing did nothing really and borini was unlucky.
JJ blackpool

Only part of post i agree with is about Glen Johnson moving to the wing. He's much better going forward than as a defender but all LFC fans have known that for a long time.

REDBILL 16

Op is very stupid! and JJ I think you watched through rose-tinted glasses because that is a truly bad assessment!

I'm not claiming to know everything about football but there is alot of people on here who haven't a clue. Every game away from home in the premiership is a dificult one and today we went to Sunderland and completly dominate in large spells. They had 1 shot on target, when do you hear a home side having 1 shot. We completly controlled the game and 9 times out of 10 we would have wont today.
Lets all get behinf the team and manager. I've said it before and I'll say it again, if the fans on here cant get behind the team when we're not winning then when we turn it around you don't deseve to get any satisfaction. True fans getbehind their team even more so when things are not going as well as we would like.

Do people actually watch the matches before writing rubbish on this site or just hear the score and make an assumption. We have played two poor halves of football this season, one with ten men and chasing the game, the other a second half against arsenal having played on the Thursday night when they had the full weeks rest. Yes we are not taking our chances that we creating and we did need another striking option in the last window but all the goals we are conceding are due to defensive errors and against the run of play. I for one am very happy with the direction the club is going in and just hope the manager is given the time and backing to take us back to the top of the league.

I watch every game, and although we are playing good football at times, we don't have a clinical finisher and we have been making some mistakes at the back. Am I supposed to say everything in the garden is rosy ? I hope BR is given time to turn it round, but have to wonder where the goals are coming from. It's obvious to everyone that we are a bit light in that department. Borini might come good, but hasn't shown it yey. However, early days and we live in hope.

15 Sep 2012 22:06:29
steven gerrard needs to be dropped, only ever gets up for a game these days if its in a england shirt, and jamie carragher shouldn't be taking sebastian coates place on the bench,if we are to move forward,we need to start to look beyond these two players.......

Don't agree with Gerrard being dropped but Jamie is looking as though he is not going to be part of this new system that BR has brought in for very much longer

REDBILL 16.

So true what you are saying. i think sahin should have played instead of gerrard. i dont think gerrard have been any good so far this seasons.

15 Sep 2012 21:55:34
I know.we.are are only 4 games in to.season but is anyone else getting a bit peed off with yet two points.out of poss 12 its gonna be a long hard season unless we get someone in in Jan thoughts please

Big Ben

I get a bit peed off when totally unconsidered post like this one, end with a "thoughts please"

15 Sep 2012 21:51:14
So much negativity on here. We were by far the better team today and played very well. We hit the post twice and had another few near chances. Have faith in this regime Rodgers always said success wasnt going to happen over night. We do need to find a finisher as Borini just isnt up to speed yet (but remember he is still young) Keep the faith fellow kopites. YNWA
JFT96

DSTEVE

Why are we paying over ten million for a young prospect we could have he jelavic, fletcher who are proven poachers

Can't agree enough; yes there's a lot of frustration after today's result and we're not sitting pretty in the league at the minute but some fans need to have a great degree patience for the way the Club is laying foundations for the future (with the aim of making us a self sufficient Club). Look at the positives - First team youth already in Sterling, Allen, Shelvey, Borini, etc. and great set of academy/youth players - Suso, Morgan, Ngoo, etc. - being nurtured for a switch to the first team (look at last night's U21's thumping chelsea), the tell tale signs are there that our future can be a bright and successful one.

Hopefully, though, the first team manage to find their form soon.

Cuchulainn's Hounds

15 Sep 2012 21:50:33
I think story of last season is repeated again we dont have clinical finisher...Gerard used to chip in with long shot nd goals I can't remember seeing Gerard scoring from long range for some time..he is still good player but doesn't want to defend nd should be used in forward or advancing role on attacking 3 on right side...all we need is someone clinical Finisher nd Shelvey had few changes but rubbish finish let him down..god s sake BR do whatever but finishing is what is required nd when you score goals other area such as goalkeeper nd defender look better nd less pressure on them...
Harry Oldbury

Gerrard didn't seem to get into the game today and looked halfhearted at times. When was the last time he managed to grab the game by the scruff of the neck? I've always maintained that we need a natural poacher/clinical finisher as we've badly lacked that since the Fowler days.

Cuchulainn's Hounds

Er Fernando Torres was after the Fowler days?

Evening all have just read some of the post match posts people really do need to wake up and have a good look at where we are as a club. The last three years we have been no more than an average team who on our day could beat the best.Consistency has been poor regardless of who has been the manager. We need to be realistic I know that is very difficult for many fans because they are stuck in the past and all they can do is look back too our glory years.People talk about patience and don't understand the meaning of the word.We have just come out of a summer where we have lost a great number of players and replaced them with few.The manager was left high and dry with obvious targets that never came to fruition. But what that will do is give some of our youth a great opportunity to stake a claim.I watched the 21s beat Chelsea and am excited by quite a number of these kids.Raheem has proven he is ready,so maybe more can make that sep up.We are not a top 4 team so why do we expect so much,in time I believe we will regain our place as a top 4 side and we will do it with a young hungry manager and team.BR will get us where we all want to be and playing the football we all look back too but it will not be in 4 games,it will not be in 1season but I am confident it will happen.

Liverpool dominated the game from start to finish. Sterling was excellent. The only problem at the moment is the finishing. This will come with more games. Have patience. Rome wasn't built in a day.

I blame Rafa for these 'out' brigade.
I mean look, under Rafa we was consistantly in the champions league and became europes no1 ranked.
Then the 'out' brigade created cracks because of league frustration.
They blamed him for the Alonso fiasco ( forgetting the fact that Alonso became lazy and average before his last season.).
They blamed him for Torres's uninterest and attitude. They blamed him for over spending but always on the gross spend.
Then he has a bad season so his end would come without a successful and proven manager set in place.
Then came Woy!. The guy tried his best but would never succeed because Rafa put us on a high platform with champions league that unless he gets us there then he would be outed.
Then came king kenny!. A proven successful manager who tried to bring back attacking pass and move football. We averaged 20shots per game, became attractive and got to 2 finals to which we won a trophy that we preclviously hadn't for 6years. But that wasn't good enough as its all about the champions league which Rafa kept us in.
So I blame Rafa who's own success brought the demise of his own rein and those after him until the perfect guy gets us back in it in 1 season.
Well in Rafa for these 'out' brigade.

Ted the red

You blame rafa for being sucessful as the reason weve sacked other managers? Surely we should blame shankley and paisley then cause no one else has been as sucessful. I blame shanks and paisley for our manager sack rate.
Clown.

Hi ted you are right about us being the number 1 team in europe but its nots Rafas fault at all ,its just timing. when we had rafa we had rubbish owners and off field issues when we got good owners we started we woy and then kenny, who did his best but overspend in every way possible. now we have BR who will come good but we didnt have a proper transfer window. just think instead of robbie keane if we had suarez we would have won the league so its all bad timing we will get there we are LFC and we willnot give up just we have to belive in ourself
RED 316

The "out" brigade wasn't around with shanks or paisley.
This is a new phenomenon created by the media, Internet and arguebley football manager games. Nowa days everyone's an expert.
The media creates the cracks by giving a reason and the few fans follow to create a storm.
Some fans believed we could simply replace Rafa with Mourinho but that's not realistic. Others wanted Roy after a Uefa cup run.. He wasn't wright man.
Many outed Dalglish before giving him a chance but why replace him with a guy who has no experience and whose success at Swansea could be argued started with Martinez?.
I just think fans got it wrong 1st sacking Rafa then Dalglish.
But what would I know, there's far more expert arm chair fans than me.

I do wish Rodgers all the success as possible and unlike these inexperienced arm chair experts, I will give the lad a chance.

Hey Eds and fellow reds
I've been reading some posts about how BR isn't good enough and honestly i beg to disagree. Its been a frustrating start to the season but despite the results, i am quite optimistic. The lads have been playing well but its been frustrating and we've been out of luck. However its important that we go through such a phase in order for the players to learn the system the hard way and avoid being complacent. I firmly believe that with BR in charge we will be the best side in the world in 5 years. If we sack him it will be our downfall. He could actually be our own SAF. In Brendan we trust

Cheers

15 Sep 2012 21:34:26
We played well in patches and IMO the formation is not ideal for our current team any how my point is are we cursed or what because most 50/50 decisions we lose I reckon it's more 75/50 lol so I have a cunning plan to get it off Barry fry used to p#ss in each corner flag well we could get kenny to do it cheers pk

Haha very good

Even SAF would not treat us so badly

My money is on H&G

15 Sep 2012 21:29:59
Eds just read match stats we are not even getting a quater of our shoots on target ,same problem as last year .but difference is this year we have 4 less strikers . Looking good then .

I know they train all week and this sounds petty but when the players are doing their pre match warm up and it comes to practicing their shooting from the edge of the box you would be supprised on how many can't hit the target and they laugh and joke with each other about it but it really annoys me!

15 Sep 2012 21:16:29
The standard of football from both sides was pretty dire.
We won't hammer anyone.
A decent side will hammer us !
Sterling only shined when the Sunderland defender came off. He is only 17.
Poor play, poor positions. A multitude of excuses, as usual.
Let's see October.

Although its obvious we need a poacher, we certainly do have a goal scorer. 7 in 11 from Suarez. Not to bad considering

Liverpool have a history of creating world class strikers.. Rush, aldridge fowler Owen etc etc
Maybe it's time to to give Ngoo a chance

Better then Borini for sure.

15 Sep 2012 21:20:04
Rodjers have same problem as AVB when he was at chelsea. Very stubborn doesn't want to change formation or tactics and we all know AVB paid price next is Rodjers. Americans will not give him time they will give him big boot like Hulk Hogan. Once Guardiola said when AVB was sacked by chelsea. Football its all about results then ability

Rodgers is Rodgers and he will play his way and that is all there is to it. The players will adapt or he will get shot of them and replace then with players that fit. And quite right to. He's manager - the players adapt to him or leave, not the other way around. RED LENIN

15 Sep 2012 21:16:45
this is to all the moaners an haters out there, each time when rodgers has taken over a team it has taken the roughly between 7- 11 matches before they got their first win. it is the team bedding into a new style/phiosophy with a new manager, after the team has their first win many more come as they are more and more used to the style. have patience it will come and when it does.....i told u so. ;p

I think Borini is a waste of money and prefer Carroll. Hope we sell Borini in Jan and bring in a decent finisher.

4 EPL games is all players get now. God help us all.

Papa G

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Did you post this time last year, saying we need a decent striker rather than a ponytailed lump? Thought so....
Bigbadben

Even if he plays 40 games he still won't become a good player where do we get these expensive flops very year

15 Sep 2012 21:03:46
We need to play this side against united:

Reina
Johnson Skrtel Agger Enrique
Sterling Sahin Allen Assaidi
Suarez Borini

Subs: Doni, Kelly, Coates, Gerrard, Henderson, Suso, Pacheco

Gerrard was poor we need to show he is not guaranteed a start if he plays poorly. 4-4-3 is clearly not working, mainly because we don't have a forward who can play as a lone middle man and get the goals, so we need to play a pairing. Assaidi needs to play as he has the flair that could unlock defences, not to mention the fact United know literally nothing about his playing style so they wont know what to expect! Sahin's spliting passes could also be the key to getting many goals this season.

Bruce

Gerrard is one man

Do the other 10 alongside him play no part?

To be honest you always raise your game hugely against us and I wouldnt be surprised to see you win maybe 3-1 due to the way you play with 3 midfielders which will over run us as we will have 2 in there probably Carrick and Cleverley who will not be able to keep up with Allen, Sahin and Gerrard as I think those 3 will play not because of ability just out numbered

I doubt we'd be allowed to play 4-4-3

4-4-3 mainly not working cos I'm assuming your playing without a goal keeper between the sticks!

Jonjo was shocking.how he played 90 mins i dont know

We should be allowed to play 4-4-3.... and we should be allowed to play 2 keepers too.

15 Sep 2012 20:59:25
Let's put this into perspective shall we? They were the home team and were very lucky to get a draw, when that happens then you have to conclude that we were very unlucky today. I thought that we played really well today apart from just after they got that lucky bloody goal. Definate signs of improvement today.

You need to get suarez to stop doing tom daly impressions he is a disgrace to youre great club.

Sterling is absolute class! Just worrying about us getting a £20m plus offer for him and it being accepted with those mmm... Flipping Americans in charge. If he is sold his only replacement will be a £7million striker aged 25+. And for Rogers if we play the way we are playing at the min all season Rodgers won't get sacked as FSG won't sack another gaffer.
Worried but loyal red here.

That one crossed my mind too.

£20million for Raheem Sterling is a bit steep mate he has had a handful of decent games..... More like £10million and that is if he keeps up his standard.

Sterling will defo go,buying cheap and selling for big money is part the financial plan now.when he will go no one knows, but if he keeps improving the way he is it wouldnt surprise me if hes gone at the end of next season cause liverpool wont be able to pay the wages certain other teams will offer him.i suspect he might go to a certain loads of money london team

It' amazing how many ignorant supporters we have these days. Seems as bad as the glory seekers everyone keeps talking about. Show me where the club policy is to sell-on young stars coming through? Genius, go back to school and learn something about football before you comment again.

Can't believe some of the whinging posts we played very well today but my god when are we going to get some LUCK.

I think we are now going to be a mid table club For a long time we won't sign any world class players the owners want us to be in the premiere league and run the club so it makes as much profit as possible without high wages

W/o the CL there is no real $$. the plan is to win. anything else is a not going to make money.

15 Sep 2012 20:39:31
Boy what I would do to get Kuyt back...we need a clutch goal scorer who scores big goals at the most important times in games....We gave him away for 1 million, I know he is not the future but I still believe he would have helped and could teach some of the young kids...

Did you not see Kuyt play last season?

Mighty reds

Now hold on. We had a goalscoring problem last season when he was here. It was time for him to move on.
derryred

So we have replaced Kuyt on the right with Sterling....sounds like a Genius move to me. At 17 he is causing more problems to the opposition in one game than Kuyt could do in 5. - and I liked Kuyt.

Kuyt. Worked hard and offered an aerial option too that borini offers nothing at all ten million what a waste

I know Kurt wasn't as solid last year as in past years but he did score some important goals and really didn't play a whole lot. Sterling has been brilliant but downing and borini have been lacking quality. Kuyt is also very effective up front if called on.....

Is anyone else happier midweek when we aint playing? Mind you I cant believe Im actually getting used to being rubbish. Years ago I would sulk for days after a result like that. Now its becoming the norm Ive become imune to it. God I miss the glory days.

How were we "Rubbish" today!

Also the idea is to support your team through good, bad and indifferent times at a guess.

3 words for johnson and anyone else shooting - "low and hard". for god sake i am so sick and tired of watching our players whizz shots miles over again and again!! johnson was terrible today in my opinion.

Then we watched different matches - I thought he was class!

I'm not one to complain or moan about my club and I'm all for getting behind the players and manager but this is starting to take the piss now Rome wasn't built in a day granted but maybe gerrard has become the achilles heel of our club once a great leader and superstar now just a washed up English middfeilder living off his status downing is obviously playing the wrong sport and pepe well I'd rather have Jones in goal at least he has heart and passion and just isn't playing for the 90k week wages god bless and good night YNWA

We hit the bar, we hit the post, we should have had a penalty, we scored. Very very soon someone is going to get hammered. Keep supporting the team and the manager, things will get a lot better.

I keep supporting the team but my fear is that we are going to get a good hammering soon if we dont start playing football.

Memories of last season? It didnt keep Kenny in a job!

The Irish Rover

Will always support the team but didn't we keep saying someone will get hammered last season.and guess what we did

Ah, another genius! We didn't play football he says, spitting his dummy. Have you looked at the stats and the chances. We do lack finishing, but I think we are playing football, no?

15 Sep 2012 20:28:11
What a load of nonsense people are spouting on here. So some supporters want Brendan out after 4 games? Great idea lads. Ok, so Brendan gets the boot tonight.... Who's the miracle worker who's gonna come in and get us top 4 this season? Roberto Martinez? Harry Redknapp? Fabio Cappello? Didn't we go through all this just 4 months ago. Anyone who thinks Liverpool FC can attract the likes of Klopp, Mourinho are deluded. I have every confidence in BR and his signings. If we beat Man Utd next weekend you'll all be kissing his ass. What a fickle game this is. Brendan is paying the price for Kenny's unforgiveable transfer activity. If LFC sack BR before the end of the season then this great club has turned into an absolute joke. We have a young manager and a young'ish team. We have a reputation as being the best supporters in the world, so lets be patient and prove it!

It's the Rafa kenny out brigade all over again

One of the few sane posts today, well done mate. Seems like this place is inhabited by kids who don't yet know the first thing about football (and if they aren't kids then there's seriously no excuse for them. Had it not been for the debacle of not getting in a striker on the last day I would have backed us to do better than last year. But BR deserves a chance and we are starting to play some good football. Changing a system is never easy, I'll wait until Xmas before being judgmental.

Wonder how those fans would get on as Liverpool manager? Premier league? League championship? The Conference National probably...

I'm still not sold on henderson, other than that I agree with your post

Assaidi is 24

joeyk

Safc fan here henderson is garbage mate no pace refuses to tackle cant pass further than 10 yards and hardly shoots. Thanks for the 15m

What about Coates mate.
JohnnyBoy

At safc fan......not a problem with the £14m plus add-ons for henderson mate, so pleased you spent it so well on???
very clever post if you had replaced the lad. he may be considered average but at 21 and the captain of the england u21 team he's still capable of producing better than what you put out today.
nothing bitter, just reality pal. {Ed063's Note - I love Henderson and would like to see him in the middle rather than Gerrard. I think the lad is class.}

Hi guys,

Man Utd fan here, looking forward to next week it should b a great game, you lot always turn it on against us n it's always close so it shud b great! Anyways, iv read a lot on here saying Rodgers needs to go? Wow guys it's four games, u get nowhere chopping and changing like that, give the guy a chance, I'm sure he will come good, without having a go I think Liverpool fans expect too much too quickly, IMO I think u should b looking at 6th-7th place this season n then take it from there.

Big Mac

Well as much as i dislike agreeing with a united fan you make a few good points.
The ones calling for the sacking of rodgers are ridiculous.
Our over ambition in recent years has caused us to switch coaches far too often. Man U and arsenal are pefect examples of the benefits of stability.
I do disagree with you, we should always be looking for a top 4 finish however i would take a top 6.
Your post is actually respectful despite what the ther comments may say.
derryred

What we are doing is not so dissimilar to what Man U did when Fergy was hired. they went through a transition period as well and that seemed to work out. I think the same will happen for us. Within three years, we will be a serious contender for the title.

15 Sep 2012 20:13:00
If we beat the mancs next week, we'l only be 4 points behind them.....so all is not lost!

United will beat us next week. We don't know what we're doing on the pitch yet and we haven't got a striker and they have.

We held the league champions at home mate, unlucky not to have won either.

I would just like to come on here and apologise from the 99.9% of Man United fans about the 0.1% minority that were chanting and singing horrendous and despicable things about the horrifying Hillsborough accident... They are not true fans they are in it for the hatred and I know we are huge rivals but please do not let this tarnish what respect if any you have for our club due to some moronic behaviour..... In the end we both have suffered great tragedy in the footballing world and I as most hope that we have an understanding as we are the only two clubs that truly understand each other when it comes to disaster....

Thanks
George

Well said. In a strange way we should cherish the rivalry, we are the only clubs that have vintage and heritage. Remove the poison of the mindless minority and you have throughout history, begrudging admiration and envy from both sides.

15 Sep 2012 20:06:23
Hey everyone, frustrating game really yet again coz we should have won, we r giving silly goals away, they never troubled Reina n only had that one shot on target which they scored from, we had the possession n controlled the game for long periods, I'm backing Rodgers but some people are right on here..... 2 Pts out of 12 isn't good enough for Liverpool but I'm going to be patient......to sum up , Good performance but need more cutting edge

Andy

Br - why oh why only one sub and that was Mr Ineffective? BR has no plan B and Im seriously worried about plan A. Has he got the balls to change the system?

Agreed, no plan B and I feel we play don't know what to do type football. after we score we not try to win the match. but we play for draw and think that is best result for us. why only 1 sub when you have sahin in the bench. so many good cross in every match of Liverpool . Caroll can be a perfect Plan B bur BR name start with a B so he never going to have a plan B :)

r-r

You are ridiculous. Downing did well and added to the game when he came on.
derryred

Echo derryred's comments on the garbage sprouted by the above posters. Please go and support someone else. Liverpool fans have also been known for their football knowledge, but you guys know as much about football as Maggie thatcher

If yes sir yes sir is only way to be a Liverpool fan then why let Hodson go? why current england manager just get 6 month with Liverpool?

15 Sep 2012 20:02:35
br tactics are poor no back up plans gets rid of only striker on deadline day tries to bring in dempsey who is a midfielder .leaves the ground early instead of staying to try and get a striker in borini will not get many goals in premier.we wanted a top manager not a novice.

15 Sep 2012 20:01:58
I feel sorry for gerrard. He wants to score goals not just pass sideways. Can someone please explain how this style of football is good to watch? Counter attacks are the way to go in this leagie!

Hounsred

I find it hard do explain things to persons.

Bring on man united next week. My goodness is Sterling a good player. Cracking player at only 17.

Just been on the lfc tour today. John aldridge and Alan Kennedy are truly class. Such a great atmosphere and a real sense of greatness in those walls. I just hope fans will just give brendan a chance I really think he has what it takes to take us back to the top. Let him set the foundations this year. Get in 2 goalscorers in jan and just watch this space.
Can't believe how much we are suffering with the lack of stadium capacity. We have around 35 exec boxes thats sell for around £35,000 a season where as Chelsea utd arse ect have over 150+ which can be sold up to as much as a million!
Anyway keep the faith!

15 Sep 2012 19:57:17
am i the only 1 who thought gerrard had a good game

Sterling, Gerrrard, Allen and Skrtel all had a good game....Sterling with a MOTM performance.....It's just so good to see a 17 year old give the creepy shakes to those established "experienced" players....ra1969

Short answer...yes

15 Sep 2012 19:56:13
I thought we played really well today and some of pass and move was great. We kept plugging away and its a decent point.

We lost here last year so its a bit of progress. I thought Steven Gerrard was superb today and I have been one to say leave him out for a game or two. But his passing was superb.

Suarez will get twenty goals this year.

Mighty reds

What game was u watchin he wasnt that good pal

At last someone with a bit of sense. We dominated the game at a tough place to go and could have won 3-1 easily! We played great football and they couldnt get out... People keep saying br out, answer this! Who do we replace him with? i think some of you on here should take over cos ur football genious the lot of you. Last season we would have lost this game, he has the balls to play youth which the others didnt so give him a chance for goodness sake.

Ian the red

He has the balls to stay after the tranfer F up Adam had gone with a few others and he didnt have the bottle to say I'm going for DEMPSEY the bloody yes man

Suarez is really really struggling right now which he is happy to admit but, he has scored 2 goals in 4 games. the orignal poster suggested 20 goals. at his current rate he's looking at 19 in 38 league games.
i'd say the original poster has a fair point! {Ed002's Note - Using the same statistical approach that would also be the same number of points Liverpool will have at the end of the season. Sometimes statistics aren't everything.}

15 Sep 2012 19:44:34
All you moaners!! Didn't we lose this fixture for the last 3 years? Today we drew & dominated the game. .. Citeh drew, chelsea had a goaless draw, both against supposed lesser oppo', why don't you sod off & whinge about them instead.

2 points from 12...

Yeah! but your missing one vital point!
Sunderland were KAK..

Genius- like 2points from 12 is some clever way of saying we are rubbish? Get a grip. First match was poor and Arsenal match unfortunately played a few days after tough Hearts game and it showed in tried performances from Gerrard and a few others. We took City to pieces despite letting them in for a draw and totally outplayed Sunderland today - and yes, one can outplay the opposition and yet only draw, but then I don't have the time to teach you the obvious.

15 Sep 2012 19:41:28
This game was a point in the right direction. We had 66% of the play and had more shots on goal and on target. So please the people on here saying crap football etc,we hit the woodwork twice and totally dominated the game. Take the positives we are getting better every game. Man utd is a test but if we can come through that the future is bright.

Future is bright if we can hold on to the talented young lads we have.

And if you dont?

Total rubbishe we dont create chances 2 shots out of 18 from inside the box thats been the problem for 2or3 years not just the last 4 games

15 Sep 2012 19:39:35
Thank the lord for Raheem Sterling

LFC1

15 Sep 2012 19:39:10
BR- if we play like that we will win many game.
Hit agree if u think BR is right.

15 Sep 2012 19:38:55
Why is everyone hating on gerrard today, obviously shelvey played as the attacking cm, also yes I admit gerrard didn't do amazing with the short passes but what about the 10 or so passes to sterling and a couple to downing that started attacks no one ever mentions those because they need to hate on someone. How about you look at our defence being wide open and being scared to actually make a tackle...all I see from our defenders is they would rather let the player shoot and hope they miss rather than try to get the ball.

On another note though I believe johnson and sterling linking on the right and enrique and suarez linking on the left with borini up front could maybe get us some goals...also gerrard needs to play as the attacking cm and allen and sahin should sit back because however many times we attack our opponents are not scared.

Jonjo was the only attacking midfielder we had today. Allen and Gerrard playing too deep. They need to get forward more and help Suarez and Borini, but they don,t seem to have the energy. Raheem was excellent again !

15 Sep 2012 19:37:20
i saw progress today;overall, I liked what I saw, however I agree with others that it was frustrating to watch, we clearly need a goal scorer. I still think this is a three year project; we will finish bottom third this year, see much progress next year, and challenge for the title the following. I like the style we are playing and again, with a pure goal scorer, we will be a formidable side.

Everything was making sense until you mentioned bottom 3..... erm calm down

clm96p

We outplayed city and Sunderland despite the draws, and this at a time when a new manager is bedding down a new style and our crucial defensive mid Lucas is out. bottom third my eye

What i meant was bottom third of the table. sorry if i wasn't clear and I appreciate your comment.

15 Sep 2012 19:33:19
Sterling deserves a pay day. Absolute quality. Out shines the whole team. BR this is a clue. Bring the youth through! Yesil, suso, ngoo, assaidi! Downing is trash he doesn't know if he's playing lb or le. BR needs to take control of this team . Sit some veterans that aren't producing (Gerrard ) I believe Gerrard and carragher are the issues at present with the team, and gaffer. YNWA.

Let's keep a lid on it sterling started slow but grew as the game went on. I really think this kid is a great talent but let's just keep a lid on it.

Mighty reds

I think the secret is out mate lets not lose the kid to politics. every game he played this season he has been top 3 players on the pitch for us. there is no lid or blanket big enough to stop the exposure he is getting or praise he "Rightfully" deserves by the fans and media.

It's always important to keep young players on there toes though, that's the only way they get better.

Mighty reds

15 Sep 2012 19:32:04
Another ineffective performance from Borini and what does BR do? He brings on Downing, the most ineffective player in the squad. Why did he not give Assaidi a run for 20 mins?

None of this is impressing me and there are no signs that it is going to change any time soon. I honestly think we will have to settle for a mid table finish this season.

FT

You expecting us to reach top 4?! If we have to settle for mid-table this season, and push on from there on to challenge next season, I'm all for it! Singred

Downing gave width ad continuity to the team, he forced their defence back and stretched them. Yes his final ball wasn't perfect but he did make an impact.

Wouldn't have been the right time to throw Assaidi in, in my opinion. He's a flair option and wouldn't provide any real defensive cover if they countered.

Papa G

Borini is being played out of position.....the lad tries hard but he,s a centre forward not a winger!

Papa G, Downing gave us nothing today, in fact he nearly cost us when he got caught dilly dallying in the middle of the park and then made no attempt to recover the ball. The only decent games he has had have been at left back.

FT

Assaidi wasn't even on the bench, I do believe.

McSnuggles {Ed063's Note - He was on the bench mate}

15 Sep 2012 19:31:56
you know, we often hear players called hero's the real hero's are the fans, the away supporters who traveled up there and made noise in support of our team, players get paid a lot to do a job fans spend a lot to watch, best fans in the world

15 Sep 2012 19:28:36
Woohoo, a draw! 2 points out of 12, GREAT! I'm sorry, it doesn't matter what you optimists say, this is not good enough! We needed to win this! Worst start in 100 years?! Pfffft...if we start playing next week then great, and I would be happy as can be, but right here, right now, this is awful. I dont want BR out, but he needs to do something, starting this week. KD spent all last season waiting for us to score and it cost him his job. Don't make the same mistake Buck

Ok so why u guys are disagreeing is beyond me...you seriously think 2 out of 12 is good enough? Seems like you've given up already. Shameful

Your comments get my genius of the week award. No need to even spell out why (dunce cap and in the corner)

15 Sep 2012 19:28:22
Give that michael ngoo a chance upfront hes gt some pace, powerful and really can finish the ball and where was suso today?

ACHILLES.

He's a good player so your post is a thumbs up

The people that disagree are obviously people that didnt watch the u21 last night.

I've been raving about ngoo for a year now.

he looses defenders, he had composure and appetite to score. he has the pace, strength and most importantly the MARBOLs to put him self about.

he is 19 but looks a beast he is nothing like Carroll at all apart from the height. he is stronger than carroll and got the footwork of messi. (not really but scares the daylights out of defenders)

i'd say if he keeps progressing like this he could well be headed in the same direction as Henry.

15 Sep 2012 19:28:15
Reina- Didnt need to dive out for their goal, hes hesitent.
Johnson - i know it was a weak tackle for their goal, but his weight was on other foot, apart from that, fantastic.
Skurts - did well? nothing major.
Ageer - same really? thought we was strong at the back
Kelly - didnt have the best game i think, the noticed he was weak link and came down that side alot.
Allen - Does his job, good game
Gerrard - Ill just say time to have someone challenge his spot in the team
Shelvey - when was on the ball did well? but my god is he lazy!
Raheem - hes my boy, you all know that, and hes proving it every week how good he is. not just in attack but defending
Borini - was a nuisance for them, should have scored
Suarez - hmm i think he did well, some great dribbles, should of had a pen .

Look lads, we should have won it and we know it. Its not often sunderland, at home, sit back and time waste for a draw....we clearly had them worried...hmm chins up!

Benny baller

15 Sep 2012 19:26:48
I don't know what everyones moaning at, were only 8points of Chelsea and we've now played the hardest teams.
Clearly we look too strong to beat and the right manager is in place now.
Thank goodness we got rid of Rafa & Kenny as we look far better now.
Tic tac toe football is clearly our strength and we look like a Barcelona right now.
Obviously we don't need Carroll with Borini in the squad.
Brenda your the man!

This has got to be the most senseless post I've seen for a while. What a bad opinion you have

He was being sarcastic.
St. Helen's Red

'tongue in cheek' you would think..?

You only finished what 35 points behind city last season man u next ..your worst start in how long?
played four games and eight drift already

15 Sep 2012 19:26:08
What did we ever do to deserve downing at our club for 20M.
Oh wait kenny bought the whole set in hendo, enrique and carrol.
Red indian

Enrique is actually quite good especially going forward.

Red indian yet another kenny basher, Dear oh Dear when will these move on

I believe red indian was a Rafa basher a Woy basher and a kenny basher so soon to be a Brendan basher...
One has to question his loyalty and his support.
There is other clubs yano!.

15 Sep 2012 19:24:36
1-1

Not bad and signs of improvement but
we really dont look like scoring many!!

Hmm, let me see... We had a few hit the woodwork, some good saves and dominated play. But we don't look like scoring? You're a genius!

15 Sep 2012 19:24:11
So 88th minute we get a free kick right by the goal and gerrard decides to whip it in? That's why we're not consistent. Poor decision making. We made 1 sub and that was downing...we have sahin and assaidi on the bench... 1-1 is not a good result.

15 Sep 2012 19:23:49
At least we're not bottom 3!

15 Sep 2012 19:22:58
We've been robbed of 4 points against man c and Sunderland we completely out played them again :| our 16 attempts against there 3 seriously?! Although I'm disappointed that we didn't go for it more at the end we deserved that win again.. LIVERPOOL ARE THE MOST FRUSTRATING TEAM !

It's a game of goals and we havnt scored enough it's that simple.
Last year we outplayed teams, was more attacking, hit the woodwork ridiculous amount of times but we lacked goals.

It's a game of goals and if your team doesn't score enough then either the club is in trouble or it's the manager.

We arnt unlucky we just can't score simples!.

Against City we made 2 fatal mistakes and it was not down to bad decisions to be honest.

Those 'fatal mistakes' were bad desisions..

15 Sep 2012 19:22:38
suarez can be so infuriating at times its unbelievable how he can be so good and then at times just neglect a simple pass through to gerrard charging foward into the box. on the bright side sterling continues to impress me alot.

15 Sep 2012 19:22:08
I have no faith in BR . sorry to say it but thats truth. come back from behind you hav e fresh leg like Sahin, Henderson and he sty back Why ?

hhh

15 Sep 2012 19:19:41
I believe it's now 2points with Man U next. How awesome are we? Surely title contenders this season!.

15 Sep 2012 19:18:35
BR wrote a 180 page dossier on his philosophy I can sum it up in one word CRAP

Never a truer word has been spoken

Srange is that because john barnes was extremely happy bout the performance and he knows a damn sight more about football than you! I can sum you up in one word, JIRK!

'Waheeem Stewling!!' Yes Roy, that's our boy! However, seriously speaking, it's a shame to be relied upon 17 y.o lad... Where's ... forgot his name, new moroccan guy? Jackie, JFT96! YNWA!

15 Sep 2012 19:01:11
Bring on sahin fresh leg good talent.

15 Sep 2012 18:59:54
sterling man of the match so far at 17 , give coady and a few others a shot also.

15 Sep 2012 18:59:27
Sterling is future ,we need one proven goalscorer and then we can play Sterling ,Striker and Suarez, that would be joy to watch.Serbian Red

15 Sep 2012 18:59:22
One thing i hate about football is supporters, Watching the slow mo of Suarez celebration how many people can you count giving the V's and particular wrist action signs. Bloody disgrace in my eyes.

I clicked on agree, but all fans are the same including Liverpool.

You are playing against another team not supporting them... It is a passionate sport and that makes it the greatest sport in the world you take away those fans you have a ground full of families with no atmosphere.

Considering suarez had not long been booked for a disgracefull dive in the box what do you expect

15 Sep 2012 18:59:14
Please 1-1 now make the positive change and get the liability that is Gerrard of the pitch

Another "fan" from the twlight zone

15 Sep 2012 18:56:13
Suarez is not STRIKER.Serbian Red

15 Sep 2012 18:54:56
Today was kind of a must win, and it looks like we're going to lose it. I doubt we'll be able to get a point against united the form their in. So 1point out of 15 is atrocious. Poor on every aspect of lfc, the players=poor, the coaching staff = poor and the owners have displayed themselves the worst. No one can say anything to back up what is currently happening.

15 Sep 2012 18:54:32
The words 'luck' and 'didn't deserve to lose' are going to be spouted out after the match, the same as have been under the last 4 managers.

It's nothing to do with luck, and if you lose then you deserve to lose. The players need to get a grip, start performing and stop feeling sorry for themselves.

The squad is even thinner than last year and now we've no striker. Starting to lose faith in Tom and Johnny.

-Shane.

Already lost faith in rodgers {Ed063's Note - Why the hell for? We killed Sunderland, they didn't play football. They did the same thing against Arsenal and they couldn't break them down either. We hit the post twice and could have had 3 or 4 on another day. We were robbed 2 points today.}

I have not lost faith in Rodgers one bit......just fed up of excuses....fromt he club as a whole. Again, the line today is: "We deserved more."

If we deserved more then we should have worked harder to get it. It's pretty empty to say, "we deserved more." Plenty of people deserve more....but only sum go out and get what they're looking for. At the end of the day, hitting the post isn't being unlucky, it's being inaccurate.

The reality is that we have players earning on average 50 grand a week, and a lot of them aren't good enough. They failed to get a striker in for the manager, and the club has wasted millions after millions for the last few years.

Just sort it out through hard work, not by feeling sorry for ourselves.

-Shane.

Ed063.not to sure about that ,sunderland where away from home in that game and didnt even try to get beyond the halfway line at arsenal,at least they tried to get forward today which left some space in behind.arsenal would have mullered them today

Well ed63 makes a change that scousers are the ones being robbed and not the ones doing the robbing eh, ha ha

15 Sep 2012 18:54:24
I still think we'll come good given time...

15 Sep 2012 18:54:06
Gerrard's legs are gone!! he isn't defending or attacking and shooting for no reason........get Sahin on

15 Sep 2012 18:53:47
Losing 1-0 bring on downing, change the channel now ?

15 Sep 2012 18:53:13
change shalvy . Bring Sahin.

15 Sep 2012 18:52:50
Gerrard gives it away all the time, simple passes.
He should take a look at the little fella playing next time him
On how to keep the ball.

Normally I would agree but Allen had a bad game as well.

Allen keeps the ball its easy to do when all you do is pass sideways and backways with 5-10 yard passes

Allen is never going to hit the hollywood pass

So far this season after watching Allen for us, I think he's a good player but he passes side to side and back a little to much and his tracking or tackling isn't quite as good as a 15m price tag player should be. However he is a good player and will learn, adapt in time.
The good thing is how young are our midfielders? Jon jo, Allen, Sterling, Henderson I mean this is a great thing for our future

15 Sep 2012 18:52:07
Hold on to your hats ladies and gentlemen......here comes Stuart Downing

15 Sep 2012 18:49:38
We're getting closer, another 100 attempts and we actually might score.

15 Sep 2012 18:49:06
so many cross where is Carroll. oh BR what is plan B ?

Think our plan be is to keep westham up!!!!!!

15 Sep 2012 18:46:30
Sunderland using tiki taka football against us!

15 Sep 2012 18:46:06
Gerrard is killing us

Rodgers is klilling us

Where is andy?

15 Sep 2012 18:45:13
borini totaly rubbish in trouble till january
ya can have all the posetion ya want its a waste when ya cant put the ball in net

15 Sep 2012 18:45:02
Telling you guys if this keeps up then Rodgers will be sacked by xmas, the Americans wont put up with this even if we will.

Henry is lov'in it

Rodgers unfortunately will be Kept

Henry aint got the money to change things

If so then they have to sack themselves. they are terrible at making decisions relating to actually football and players to be signed for the first team.

15 Sep 2012 18:43:29
1-0 down at half time a few years ago? Wouldn't have been worried. We had the guts and strength to dust ourselves off and get on with it! Now? Very different story, all the passing counts for nothing atall if it's sideways and backwards! This is suppose to be pleasing to watch football! I'm sure it's not only me, but I feel uneasy whenever we have the ball as I know the second we lose it we're vulnerable!

Its got to the stage now where I dislike watching the team I've loved for so many years! It's a sad state of affairs!

And before anyone replies with ''Stand by your team'' the club / support ratio needs to work both ways! LFC have given nothing! If something doesn't change soon, we won't only have ANOTHER wasted season, but we WILL be ina relegation battle!

For years, Chelsea, united, city and arsenal have been edging further and further away from us! The sad thing now is that most mid table teams are doing the same!

Sad sad state of affairs!

Genuinely gutted

Dex

You talking bwt the time benitez was are manager?

The worst thing about supporting Liverpool now is that there are so-called supporters with no idea, like the previous poster, who can't even see that we were playing and winning Champions League finals and semi finals under Benitez yet are satisfied with tactically inept displays from a team now nearer the bottom of the League than even qualifying for CL.

where is Sahin ? is this tiki taka ?

Hopefully this is Rodgers sacky Sacky and the sooner the bleedin better {Ed063's Note - I think you are being ridiculous. 4 matches. You are giving a young talented manager 4 matches to turn a club around and adapt to a new style of football? You do know that Fergie was terrible for his first 15 matches and was very nearly sacked at United but they stuck with him and look at them now.}

How long was KEnny given

BR will have to live or die by the same tennants that befell Kenny

I respect your opinion ed , but 2 points ............ am i the only one getting fed up hearing"brendons phylosphy" at lfc we have always tried to play pass and move football . last season we looked good but didnt score enough goals in relation to chances created which cost us dearly ......secondly the comparison with fergie cant be made . because managers lasted longer when he started at united . where as if it were now he would have gone . i want rogers to stay but results are important and every manager knows this
devon red {Ed001's Note - what the hell is that ridiculous statement about it being a different time got to do with anything? You make no sense, you might want to try and think about what you said, because it was just incredibly silly at best. Rodgers needs to be given time and comparisons can be made, because they prove why a manager should be given time and why modern practices of sacking managers are just idiotic.}

The attacks on Brendan after 4 matches are unadulterated genius. So you want him to be sacked like Kenny? now let me see... How much did Kenny spend including wages, and how much was Brendan allowed to spend and wages were cut! But sack Brendan? You're a genius, mate!

15 Sep 2012 18:42:22
Borini is hopeless

Gazman

15 Sep 2012 18:38:11
Br needs to get sacked and fsg need to sell fast

Hooray

The only good post

Bring in 'arry {Ed063's Note - Wow. I can't believe how little patience people have.}

Rafael benitez, arry, he can stay in london, rafa got unfinish bussines, and by the arry wif tottenham never could bet man u.

15 Sep 2012 18:35:47
Need new owners that will spend big on players and wages, otherwise we will never compete with the top 3 or 4 clubs in the prem. Thats plain and simple. Brenden Rogers is soley to blame for our run of form, be that good or bad form its down to the managers tactics and his mental approch with the team prep before the game. The board never backed BR in the transfer window enough so we are short on players in key areas, wingers and goal scores. Come xmas we will be in a position that would be sackable for BR had the board of signed players in the transfer window that we could all see we needed. For that reason only BR will not be sacked. Alot hangs on who we sign in January and what impact they have for the remainder on the season and on how BR can turn things around. Right now things look grim and I can see how it's going to turn out. How ever you view my comments the one thing you can't doubt is the fact that we need to have the finance to compete with the top 3/4 team in the prem on all levels

Can't agree more mate. The top 4 teams are the ones that spend big and buy quality.

We have no money fro the traditional more expensive January windows get real FFS

15 Sep 2012 18:35:21
really dissapointed and saddened by what we are seeing. there is way too much talk and no progress.

15 Sep 2012 18:35:12
Everyone in England and elsewhere should just be glad they don't have to listen to Eric Wynalda and his rubbish analysis of the game!!

RyanWhittington&hisCat

15 Sep 2012 18:33:17
Same old same old first half . all the ball chances n one down rubbish:-( . Keep going boys heads up and composer in front of goal lad ynwa.

15 Sep 2012 18:32:29
Titus Bramble on! There is hope!

Ash

Kenny's team doesn't look so bad now does it ASH, The lad always on here going on about him wasting money. At least that team got to 2 finals but this team will fight relegation at this rate.

Kenny signed Bramble, troll?

Ash

Kenny was going places

Needed more investment and 3 or 4 key players

Rodgers has rebuilt and its a shambles

Not a troll bighead ash but a fan of liverpool for 45 years how long have you been lad ?
Fact is you have called for kenny on a few occasions and im spelling it out to you lad !
Officially the worst start in a century for liverpool and yet apart from today you still put a lot of blame at kenny's spending.
Your problem is your not blaming the right people concerned lad .
.

Rodgers has had 4 games! Lad!

Ash

15 Sep 2012 18:31:42
harry redknapp anyone!!!!!

Deffo no!.
A good manager that he is he wouldn't be suited at Liverpool. Anyway he prefers to stay in London

Then if u say rednap is a good manager,i really undervalue your football xpertise.with all the mone spent at spurs,he just wastes his buys and turns them into rubbish..hez rubbish at best

15 Sep 2012 18:29:03
Just saw the slow motion on the "dive" by suarez, O'shea caught his knee, all the commentators said it should not have been a card and most said it was a pk, once again Liverpool gets f*cked by the refs. Next transfer window forget a striker we should invest in a couple refs.
Andrew

15 Sep 2012 18:28:33
I've said it countless times before and I'll say it again and again, Glen Jonson is an awful player and is at fault for so much of what goes wrong for us, be it attacking or defending. The day a Liverpool manager notices this and gets shot of him the better!

Scarface

I give up, football appreciation 101 required here. Glen is highly rated by so many coaches/managers for a simple reason...oh you don't know the reason? He occasionally makes a defensive slip up, less often than you imaging, and in some games has made superb tackles when CBs have been out of place. And last but not least, he is one of the most creative attacking fullbacks around and if he were Brazilian or Spanish, pundits would be calling him world class and overlooking the few times he does let us down. Oh and he was playing out of position.

15 Sep 2012 18:28:23
i honestly think this tiki taka aint working for us because its the opponent that are pressing us, we shuld be the one to press the opponents. shouldnt habe gambled wid rodgers.

redh0t

15 Sep 2012 18:28:19
Not overreacting but the factis we are getting closer to a bottom half team than a top 4 and to be honest the team for me if i had to bet wil finish in the bottom half because when u look at teams around us they are almost better in every position. Agger - 24m thats a miss. But we are so so so poor its sad but this is real now and it will be hard to accept it but we are going down the road of leeds and before people jump down my throat i am backing my team i am only saying what deep down everyone knows and there is nothing to prove otherwise. Not only are we only scoring 2 goals so far which is in the same game we are starting to leak goals grave consequences its bad and very upsetting

15 Sep 2012 18:28:12
this 443 is really not happening is it. We really need to change it pronto.

You're so clever you don't even know that 443 doesn't exist. Don't let the fact that Barca and many other top teams use it blind you to the fact that 433 is better than 442

15 Sep 2012 18:27:03
Rafa keep ya coat on son, you might have a job come Christmas!.

15 Sep 2012 18:26:35
absolutely shocking

15 Sep 2012 18:26:12
Gerrard off Sahin on. Gerrard looks lost!

15 Sep 2012 18:25:53
So Weldon't we cross dives and UTD get penalty Suarez dives, he gets a card.. For all the dancing and prancing in and around the box by our players Sunderland score with a simple cross and tap in the net method.

And for people who decide the transfers at Liverpool, just to clear you guys matches are won by scoring goals and thats what strikers are there for.

Musicnation

15 Sep 2012 18:24:44
We NEED rafa back. Systems like Barcelona have only work if you have the players. Rafa is class in all ways, we all know that. Not always pretty but the results matter. He is desperate to come back. Seems he is just waiting.

In rafa i trust! bt i would like see how brendan rodgers does first the guy has potencial to be a great aquasition for LFC

ACHILLES.

15 Sep 2012 18:24:19
So predictable...one attack by SFC and they score. We try to attack but are toothless. I did predict BR wouldbe out by November and that we'd lose all first matches of the next season. Bar draw against City, that's exactly what's happening. FSG have saved LFC true but they've been a flop since.

15 Sep 2012 18:24:11
People that try to blame Pepe are just unaware of the real world.

poor play by poor Liverpool team.

we need 3 attacking players badly.

AM, RW, CF

Llorente - CF (FSG need to step to the plate, man up and back BR fully. they got him in then to show lack of faith in transfer window should be a criminal offense is there any worse case of betrayal?) £12m

Bastos - Winger, Wide Forward, Left Back (who wouldn't want this guy on their team great option from the bench as an attacking option even at LB, plus 7m is cheap for a guy that guarantee's goals, he would be our best set-piece taker) £7m

Isco - AM, LAM (Malaga needs money we need creative Midfielder) £13m

Gameiro - CF, ST, WFD (get him in on loan PSG might want to keep him for the future but don't need him right now) £3m

= £35m

if we have to sell to get them in the fine

Henderson is not favored at all, 5th choice and will be 6th when lucas gets back. £11m

Downing isn't worth having in the team and Bastos would be a huge improvement from him. £10m

we have 6m from adam, spearing and carroll. that's £27m generated by selling and loaning players out. and if FSG can't Afford to give £10m-15m then what is the point?

.............................Llorente...........................
............Gameiro..........................Suarez.......
................................Isco..............................
......................Allen.............Lucas..................
Bastos.........Agger...............Skrtel.....Johnson
...............................Reina.............................

Jones, Enrique, Coates, Gerrard, Sahin, Sterling, Borini.
plus; Shelvey, Assaidi, Kelly, Suso, Henderson, Carragher, Doni

15 Sep 2012 18:22:23
sorry boys but that was just poor, youd think theyd be fired up after this week too...we never ever look like scoring and is it me or is suarez wayyyy too greedy for his own good?........disappointing.....if this happens for the next 6 games id fear for Rodgers and that would be a shame.
YNWA JFT96

15 Sep 2012 18:22:11
At the end of last year it was clear we need a top striker.
What do we do we weaken our goal scoring capability!

We will not finish in the top 10

15 Sep 2012 18:21:55
Any one who still thinks that our club isn't jinxed needs to have a look at that first half, they are totally sh**e and are incredibly lucky to be leading. Same old bull**t story for us I'm afraid where nothing is going right.

15 Sep 2012 18:21:41
what a disgrace our team is a mess we have no striker and it is so obvious!if you think we can go to january we this team then you need locked up!lets no kid ourselves we look a team bottom to mid table if we are lucky!i hope mr henry and co are watching cause boy have they alot to answer!and mr rodgers 11 mill for borini your having a laugh!am so disalluissoined!

15 Sep 2012 18:22:15
Just disappointed ...
Andrew

Rodgers should go no finisher he tought he found a finisher on borini, and then he let carrol go, this is unfinisher problem already created, so byby rodger so u can learn to dont mess wif a player from whom u cant replaced. Xxxxxxx R

15 Sep 2012 18:21:57
I thought the idea of replacing Dalglish was to improve? So far the football is a lot worse than last year and the league position speaks for itself. 8th place is a dream away.

All those who called for Rafa out and then Dalgleish must feel pretty silly now

Liverpool were brilliant against man city. two bad mistakes cost us the win.We never played that good with kenny.p.s big dalglish fan

15 Sep 2012 18:21:19
I think we can kiss goodbye to any position to get into Europe and say hello to relegation battle this season. Let's hope we buy someone in jan, otherwise we can say hello to the championship next season!

I think your getting ahead a bit, disappointing yes, but to suggest we're looking at a relegation scrap i think is ott

15 Sep 2012 18:20:42
I have lost hope for the rest of this half of the season. From January we can talk again.

FSG can't complain and can't blame anyone but themselves Poor transfer dealings or lack of.

Can't look to Downing for encouragement he isn't a game changer in the slightest he's a safe player.

Downing just come on??

15 Sep 2012 18:19:45
Jesus Christ we are awful. God bloody awful. Why oh why didn't we buy a goalscorer? We are shocking again in the final third. The players simply don't believe.

Gaz man

15 Sep 2012 18:18:38
Feel sorry for br the big name players are letting him down, johnson was so poor for that goal. Stupid mistakes costing us all the time.

It makes me feel sick how bad we are

15 Sep 2012 18:16:32
This Tic Tac football is exhilarating.

It's like watching paint dry!

Watching paint dry isn't painful in a deep down place.

15 Sep 2012 18:14:51
If there's one manager who's going to earn his money its Rodgers !

15 Sep 2012 18:14:36
I really dont think liverpool have the right quality in mid to play 3 we should play 4 4 2 think it work alot better jus my opinion gerrard gettin older now shelvey not consistent enough cant judge sahin after 1 game but think a 4 4 2 would do the job boss the midfield and like everybody already knows we need a goal scorer desprately STEMLOCC1

The next couple of transfer windows will be interesting!!
Too many current 1st team players don't appear to be good enough.

Totally agree mate. one thing for sure is this 4 3 3 tiki taka carp ain't going to be part of Liverpool folklore for the right reasons if we are not careful.

15 sep 2012 18:13:57
breden rodgers is clueless

why use 4-3-3 when its clearly not working!

15 Sep 2012 18:13:55
My post was yesterday play 3-5-2 see I was Right. BR tiki taka will go down if away match play 4-3-3

15 Sep 2012 18:13:29
It's not workin is it?

15 Sep 2012 18:12:35
JUst look at this performance, absolutely rubbish. What the hell is going on?

The passing is terrible and in most cases pointless sideways or backwards.

I' sorry but I cannot believe how bad the team has been performing for all games so far with the excusion of City.

I don't care what anyone says, if this continus we will be fighting a relegation battle. Surely I can't be the only one who can see this?

I'm not calling for anyone's head or for FSG to sell the club etc, but something needs to change quickly as we are lookign worse every game we play?

PLease feel free to tell me the positives, because I can't see any.....

ConnorsLFC.

I totally agree with you mate, This is very worrying so far.
Half timw now but if we get beat today thats 3 in 4 games at the start of the season and i dont see us improving, Relegation form is spot on talk and with utd next up only the optimists will see us beating them.

15 Sep 2012 18:12:12
It's clear Gerrard doesn't want to play this way. put him on the bench and make him work his way into the first team.

15 Sep 2012 18:11:39
Shelvey could at least try and look like he cares

15 Sep 2012 18:10:42
Can't score, can't defend; can't pass. Gerrard is a liability. Another loss!

Its only half time mate, you watch us come out and score 2 or 3 just wait dude.

Still waaiting for the second and third DUDE

15 Sep 2012 18:08:25
That's another loss then

15 Sep 2012 18:04:56
60 min countdown to the messages of Rodgers out

Dublad

And rightly so, cos we are rubbishe.

15 Sep 2012 18:03:56
We are rubbish. We will never score again

15 Sep 2012 18:01:50
I actually said as soon as the Liverpool 6 attempts Sunderland 0 attempts pops up they were gonna score.. WTF !!!!!

15 Sep 2012 18:01:35
Absolutely fed up of reina....world class? get real. maybe once upon a time.....now he is not hungry, making mistakes. Replace him....show him hes not indespencable!

Benny baller

Agree 100%.
He's been very poor for the past 2 seasons!!

Funny the guy you just describes in Gerrard

Excuse the poor spelling on the last word...

He should never of dived for that ball? do you not know your limits reina? im a pro-am goalie and i went through a bad patch, i was on £40 a week...and it made me think i was big time charlie, and stopped putting the effort in. I came out of the phase, i really hope he does...

Benny baller

15 Sep 2012 18:01:29
It's hard work being a Liverpool fan. I remember when it was exhilarating.

How I miss the highs of 3+ years ago.

Ash

You wanted Rafa, Hodgson, and Dalglish all sacked. You got what you wanted.

I never wanted Rafa sacked. The other two, yes. You should know that. And I still fully support Rodgers.

Ash

15 Sep 2012 18:01:05
Im not a doom sayer whatsoever but this is beginning to get ridiculous.

15 Sep 2012 18:00:57
Ill get ribbed for this but I think Gerrard has been one of Liverpool's worst performers this season. He always tries the 30 yard pass and gives away possession and breaks up the rest of the teams hard work of short, precise passing. They lose all momentum and he ruins the system Rodgers is trying to implement.

You speak the truth.
He should only play one game a week these days.
He also needs to be dropped and picked on the right attitude in training.
He does not appear interested anymore.

15 Sep 2012 18:00:17
cant believe it, very very poor

15 Sep 2012 17:54:05
Suarez, please look for your team mates!

He has and thought they're SH*T.

15 Sep 2012 17:42:41
waddles voice is up there with Mick Mcarthy for monotonous and boring!

And talks rubbish.

15 Sep 2012 17:25:01
eds, quick question.. any meaning to the fact that suso wasn't in the u21s last night and not included in squad for 2days game? is he injured or something else i've missed

CyprusRed {Ed002's Note - There is nothing we know of.}

15 Sep 2012 17:14:07
If we loose today Rodgers will not have long left no matter what fsg say. How many more times can we loose

Well they should have backed him on the final day of the transfer window then.

We spent 30m this summer plus we had a 35m striker sent out on loan before a replacement was found.
FSG could argue that Rodgers spent 10m on a striker of his choice.
10m is lot of money so the lad must be good.
Then again fans compare our spending with chelsea and city nowadays

15 Sep 2012 17:05:39
We are second from bottom? What a joke

Yeah but we are playing and looking like a relegation team

And were gonna stay there

15 Sep 2012 16:53:11
so the two left out were Coates and Suso. why Coates is left out I don't know for me Carragher should only be on the bench is when one of Skrtel and Agger are not on the team. and downing hasn't got a future at liverpool so why not give Suso the spot on the bench? we have Assaidi to come on as an attacking option and suso should be the other 1.

Completely agree with you mate...

Carragher never should be ahead of Coates...even if that is on the bench.

And what to expect from Drowning.. useless would be better to put Suso or Yesli on the bench, I trust the youngsters more than Drowning..

Bosco

15 Sep 2012 16:47:38
Official team
Reina
Kelly skrtel agger Johnson
....Gerrard Allen shelvey....
....Suarez Borini sterling.....
Subs
Jones Enrique sahin assaidi Henderson downing carragher
No suso then. And assaidi ok for bench.
I'm going for 3 to 1 win for us
Gerrard Suarez and sterling goal. Gerrard and Henderson yellow cards
:-P john a

Worries me having Kelly on the pitch

15 Sep 2012 16:45:19
ed's assaidi on the bench i though he had a bad injury and was not available? or was this a past injury that he's recovered from {Ed002's Note - See earlier answers.}

Previous answers that i can see stated by Eds is that he is injured - just saying

ChrisYNWA1977 {Ed002's Note - Fine, by all accounts make a big deal of it.}

jerry swinger. {Ed002's Note - The Eds do this for nothing and give the best possible information to you. Sadly there are filthy cocks*ckers like you that just want to make it difficult for everyone - and believe that is what you have just done.}

Ed you really should hang your head in shame! :)

15 Sep 2012 16:21:11
We better win today.

Reina starts
Liverpool lose
Simples

Give Reina a break lad, we will win 3-0 easy today just wait and see.

I'm waiting and all im seeing is 1-0 sunderland..

15 Sep 2012 16:11:21

In light of last night, Suso is in the 18 man-squad for the Sunderland game.

Starts from the bench, of course.

You're on a role here mate.

Keep trying, you'll guess something eventually.

15 Sep 2012 15:16:08
I believe Brendan will set his stall out over this season, and if any mistakes are going to be made in his tenure at Liverpool, he will make 80-90% of them this season. As a Liverpool fan I can only hope the fans and supporters can be patient and get behind the team and manager, whatever happens this season. If we don't get top 6 or win any trophies, at least the new players that have and will come in this season will get the chance to gel with the existing players, so we can have a real go at winning something next season. Obviously the season has just started, but the fans would have to be foolish to think we will gain a top 4 place and win a cup. As long as Brendan and the players are given a bit of time we as a club can start winning things.
(Hopefully that will start with a win at Sunderland today). Ant B

15 Sep 2012 15:03:28
We are tracking Juventus Striker Richmond Boakye with a view to a move next summer. {Ed002's Note - He has only just joined Juventus and he is now out on loan. He also has third party ownership.}

15 Sep 2012 15:02:18
No need to thank us for our support on the Hillsborough, anyone who is a decent person would want justice for the 96 and their families.

so like i said no need to thank us, just because we are united fans or fans of another club doesn't mean we don't want justice for our fellow countryman and women, some things mean a lot more than football.

PS hopefully we can put an end to the vile songs about Munich and Hillsborough.

JK92

Just want to say a big shout out to all the Celtic fans who sang JUSTICE FOR THE 96 during their game today.Nothing but respect for that club and their fans.

Different class celtic,one love

Just hold on their a minute.are these the same fans that regularly chant their backing for the I.R.A. ,a terrorist organisation tha killed 100s of innocent men women and children.yes they are a different class, gutter class, and before you comment, yes i have heard the chants on T.V. and yes i am a victim of the troubles and yes i do live in N.IRELAND,so i am qualified to comment.

Very emotional week. Lots of pride, tears and anger. One person who seems to have escaped the flak is Margaret Thatcher. Nobody can tell me that she never knew about the lies that came with the cover up. Hope she is hanging her head in shame and is feeling a little bit nervous at the moment. JFT96, Brian.

She never did shame while she still had her marbles - she won't be doing it now either. At least it shows her legacy for the divisiveness and hate it engendered in society.

15 Sep 2012 13:41:46
Just watching some of the Celtic game at the moment,Celtic fans singing JUSTICE FOR THE 96,absolute class from a great set of fans and a great club.

15 Sep 2012 12:31:36
Everyone download or buy a copy of 'you'll never walk alone' this week and get it to number 1 in the charts, the money will be donated to the families of the 96 YNWA

15 Sep 2012 13:04:37
There is no doubt we need to win, i like brendan rodgers but ultimately he should be judged with the same brush as kenny and rafa, that is results. We need to take 3 points today just to stay close to the top teams otherwise we could find ourselves in a bad situation. I would play doni in goal if he is available, enrique, agger, skyrtel, johnson, sahin, allen and suso in the attacking position or shelvey. Sterling (left) borini (center) suarez (right). Subs: ngoo, pacheco or morgan, gerrard, coates, robinson, downing, reina. Let me know whats your opinions on this team, thanks. RedTurk

Half of the players you mentioned didn't even travel to the north east, and Doni's AWOL. Typically bizarre post.

Kieran

Nope - he needs to be given time to shape the squad and playing style to the way he wants.
Give him minimum 3 years.

Minimum two years

Kenny and rafa had strikers

BR was the one who got rid of the strikers so he's accountable. He cannot blame it on the owners that nobody was signed in the last few days of the transfer deadline as that was leaving it way too late and shows he didn't have any real target

I havent seen the team sheet, so if i included some players that are not playing sorry. Anyway that is the team i would like to see on a regular basis, if anyone knows where i can find out the team that travelled please tell me. RedTurk

Small list of who I think have been some of the better players for LFC in recent times, along with approximate ammounts how much we bought and sold them for:

Hyypia. 2.6m, free.
Fowler. Free, 12m.
Gerrard. Free, still playing.
Carragher. Free, still playing.
Owen. Free, 8m
Alonso. 10.5m, 30m
Torres. 25m, 50m

Totals:46m, 100.6m

That's how you run a football club, if we sold gerrard a couple of years ago we could of got at least 30m then.

To think aquilani and keane almost cost 40m then it's easy to see the way forward isn't spending big money on players but investing in youth, better scouting, and buying and selling players at the right time.

I can't be bothered working it out but if you added up all the wasted money on transfers over the years, I mean the aquillanis, keanes, johnsons, plus all the wasted wages from the Coles, maxis, etc it makes you wonder.

I wonder if you added it all up if we would have at least half the cost of a new stadium/upgrade.

Next summer I would sell Johnson, promote Kelly, but start integrating all our promising youth this year.

In 10 years time someone else could be looking back and wondering how much in transfer fees the likes of sterling, suso, yesil, Morgan, Kelly, Robinson etc saved us.

Marcherano?
Luis Garica?
Arbeloa?

Alonso was not sold for £30 million. Alonso, Arbeloa and Dossena were sold for a total of just over £29 million. Its in the club accounts!

The Irish Rover

I wouldn't put mascherano or luis Garcia in the same bracket as those above. Despite being good players.
Reason being mascherano cost us a small fortune, was great at times but got sent off all the time, went on strike then we sold him for no profit.
Luis Garcia was a good little player but no better than what we can produce ourselves.
Arbeloa would be though.
Should never have sold him.
Bargain buy.
And I got Alonsos price on wiki but I am sure it was about 30m from memory anyway.

If we loose today BR might aswell stay in Sunderland. To let Andy go was the worst thing he could do and i think he will pay for it with his job . Worst start for 50 years and today we need 3 points because i can't see us getting anything at utd other then a hiding.

Pork Chop {Ed063's Note - We don't play AT United as you said, we play them at Anfield. Perhaps before you start slating Rodgers you should get your facts straight}

Give over you knob

Be positive we will win for the 96.

Mighty reds

Why dont you stay in sunderland and do one... get behind the manager and the team

Are you really a liverpool fan?

ridiculous thing to say. do you need feel the general vibe around the place that we're at the start of a 2 year rebuilding process? with emphasis on blooding youngsters, accentuating the link between the academy to first team and not buying £30M duds any more?

if you'll do you'll understand that we may lose 2-0 today, we may also lose next week. i think we have to accept we may finish in bottom 6 or 7, but we'll be better for it in the longterm / overall picture, with a quality young side playing great football as a project for years to come.

you don't get all that then no? so we lose today and BR should go? jeez. in your world why not just have 6 managers in a calendar year on a roll on roll off process. tool.

I'm not being funny mate but that is the most pathetic post I think I have ever seen especially in a week like this.

The tit of the week award by unanimous decision to pork chop! Ever heard of solidarity!

Alright lads, United fan here, I posted about Hillsborough on our page and haven't posted here yet, so I thought I would do it now.

Every 15th April I post the Poem 'The Justice Bell' by Dave Kirby, but I think this occasion deems fit for it.

"A schoolboy holds a leather ball
In a photograph on a bedroom wall
The bed is made, the curtains drawn
As silence greets the break of dawn.

The dusk gives way to morning light
Revealing shades of red and white
Which hang from posters locked in time
Of the Liverpool team of 89.

Upon a pale white quilted sheet
A football kit is folded neat
With a yellow scarf, trimmed with red
And some football boots beside the bed.

In hope, the room awakes each day,
To see the boy who used to play
But once again it wakes alone
For this young boy's not coming home.

Outside, the springtime fills the air
The smell of life is everywhere
Viola's bloom and tulips grow
While daffodils dance heel to toe.

These should have been such special times
For a boy who'd now be in his prime
But spring forever turned to grey
In the Yorkshire sun, one April day.

The clock was locked on 3.06
As sun shone down upon the pitch
Lighting up faces etched in pain
As death descended on Leppings Lane.

Between the bars an arm is raised
Amidst a human tidal wave
A young hand yearning to be saved
Grows weak inside this deathly cage.

A boy not barely in his teens
Is lost amongst the dying screams
A body too frail to fight for breath
Is drowned below a sea of death

His outstretched arm then disappears
To signal thirteen years of tears
As 96 souls of those who fell
Await the toll of the justice bell.

Ever since that disastrous day
A vision often comes my way
I reach and grab his outstretched arm
Then pull him up away from harm.

We both embrace with tear filled eyes
I then awake to realise
It's the same old dream I have each week
As I quietly cry myself to sleep.

On April the 15th every year
When all is calm and skies are clear
Beneath a glowing Yorkshire moon
A lone Scots piper plays a tune.

The tune rings out the justice cause
Then blows due west across the moors
It passes by the eternal flame
Then engulfs a young boys picture frame.

His room is as it was that day
For thirteen years its stayed that way
Untouched and frozen forever in time
Since that tragic day in 89.

And as it plays its haunting sound
Tears are heard from miles around
They're tears from families of those who fell
Awaiting the toll of the Justice bell."

Thanks for reading, and good luck today fellas, for next week no such luck shall be yours ;)

Would like to thank the stone roses, john robb, eric cantona & terry christian amongst many orher decent people from nanchester & connected with manchester who loked beyond the rivalry & stood with us & saw the situation for what it was an attack on the chracter of the working class god bless you all & the supporters from all clubs over the country......y.n.w.a. Paisley's genius

Touching post from a true fan of football regardless of team colours. Not been on for a few days with all that's gone on. It was a very emotional few days. I have to say I am very proud of the response on these pages from fans from every team. It just goes to show that despite the rivalry in the modern game, real football fans can show respect to each other. Long may it continue. I hope future games can return to proper banter between clubs on the terraces and not the vile tripe we have had to endure in recent times from small sections of every ground, ourselves included. It's time we carried the dignity that the families of the 96 have shown through every aspect of our lives not just in the stands. A couple of seconds thought before we speak will go such a long way to preserve that dignity. It's our football club, our family. We will have our ups and downs as most families do, but our love will be unconditional. Lets as fans make this a day to remember for the right reasons. A great match played in the right spirit win lose or draw. Let us sing shout and scream til our lungs are fit to burst as those that are no longer with us would have done given a chance to do so. RIP 96, you will forever be in our prayers and thoughts, YNWA Simonpw

Thank you.

Hi Guys
I'm a Man United fan and proud of it but as a football fan I'm also proud of the way everybody concerned with Liverpool have handled themselves in the wake of the result of this weeks findings about Hillsborough.
Those who have lost loved ones must have gone through every emotion possible since that fateful day and even now probably don't know whether to rejoice or cry.I hope those responsible get what they deserve.
I know our clubs have great rivalry and I think most of us will acknowledge it goes over the top at times,on both sides but I would really love it if next week United fans recognise whats gone on with a supportive chant for the Hillsborough victims.

Bazza The Red

Bazza, good on you lad. I was brought up with the vile chants and was fortunate enough to realise it's just plain sick. As football fans we are fickle yet many of us still portray this small-time mentality. It's tit-for-tat and will never end until one team/supporters instigates a truce and stops chanting the shabite. I fear it will never stop though mate. It's posts like that though that should make us all realise that it's only a fangling game. Long may our teams compete and long may our rivalry reign.

To everton football club: we may have our differences, our banter sometimes even fall out but in our darkest hour when we needed you most you where there for us. When we were on our knees you put your hand on our shoulder and helped us up. When the authorities and media attacked us you stood by our side and fought our corner. When we where at our lowest you put footballing rivalry aside and became one footballing community, one city and one voice. Most of all when we where going through the worst time in our history you truly made sure we never walked alone! Nil satis nisi optimum JFT96 YNWA

Eds do you know if Assaidi is in the squad today? {Ed002's Note - Assaidi is injured and will not be available for a while. He has Gilmores Groin which was an issue for Gerrard last year.}

Jose put a picture up of reina last night on twitter and assaidi was in the background

This is sad. when we r short on forwards especially. get well soon assaidi.

Kaizer

Hope he is not another sick note

Why the hell did we sign him then another carroll and whats that italian called again?

if mr hendry wants serious liverpool succses he must do sell the club for one like dic thats how liverpool can compete with the big guns or else sell red sox to concentrate only on one club which means liverpool {Ed002's Note - DIC are in desperate financial problems - and that is what you want for Liverpool?}

Thanks ED, when will people understand that we have sound owners who are on the right track yo making us sustainable...DIC are screwed because they have over-leveraged the company, exactlly what H&G did to Liverpool. It is a very aggressive business model that protects the liability of the owners.
Of course I want success on the field, but I don't the club to continually go through boom and bust cycles, we never want to find ourselves that close to administration again. People calling for the owners to sell really need to grow upp.
Finally, not comIng. from Liverpool myself, I did not comment out of respect but followed the news, posts etc all week and wednesday was very emotional. So happy that the truth has come out. Next justice. Also, appreciation to the others fans who posted this week. Pure class. Paul mc

In 2011 the club had a yearly turn over of £183,640,000. They showed a pre-tax loss of £49,317,000....an increased loss of £30million on 2010. The last guys were losing money hand over fist. More money going out than coming in isn't a great way to run a company. That's why our profile in the USA is being pushed to bring in extra revenue, the releasing/selling of players to cut wage bills. It might not guarantee success in the short run but by bringing the youth players through is a great way to keep wages down and signing on fees to a minimum. I personally want to see them build from the youth system, bringing die hard players through who WANT to play for the club. The likes of Gerrard, Fowler and Carragher are in our youth system and with the quality training we have at Melwood means we can bring this club back to where it belongs....at the top...playing against the best teams in the world and winning. We just need to be patient.

Agree with Alex Ferguson that vile chants from both LFC and MU fans must stop regarding Hillsborough and Munich.Liverpool fans are well known for their banter, wit and humor.I hope that this has not been lost because of recent seasons results, on and off the field that have not gone our way and we are envious of other sides finishing above us in the league. Some people call wit sarcasm, and sarcasm the lowest form of wit. For me a sarcastic remark takes a lot of thinking about and is mostly funny if well thought out.So come on LFC supporters lets get back to banter ,wit and sarcasm to get on the backs of the MU supporters to which we are good at and they are numpties.(Not very witty agreed but I'm tired)

REDBILL 16

Well said lad. Rivalry can be a great little addition to a game but when the subject is life and death, it's time to get some perspective.
