Use our rumours form to send us liverpool transfer rumours.

15 Aug 2010 23:39:51
Why is it when anyone says anything remotely negative about Liverpool then 'they shouldn't be posting on this site' or 'should go and support another team'. Liverpool supporters are renowned for being knowledgable about football and whilst some people may not have liked certain aspects of todays game then their opinion should be respected. If we were not critical of our own team and deluded ourselves that we were great again then people would start comparing us to Man Utd supporters. Yes certain aspects of the game were very good but some were rubbish and just because we state our displeasure at what went wrong, it does not mean that we love the club any less.

15 Aug 2010 22:22:42Mascherano out eto in. next wk

inter just sold ballotelli to man city mate, why would they let 2 brilliant strikers go in the same window? eto'o is fantastic and i would love him at anfield but theres no chance inter will let him go unless they receive at least £35m cash so they could replace him. besides, his wages alone would cripple us financially

Liverpool FC eyeing more signings before transfer deadline & News On Sale

Liverpool managing director Christian Purslow has hinted that the club will try to bring in 'one or two' more players before the close of the transfer window.

Roy Hodgson welcomed Milan Jovanovic, Joe Cole, Danny Wilson and Juventus midfielder Christian Poulsen to his ranks this summer ahead of today's opening draw with Arsenal but has remained tight-lipped on adding more players to the roster before the end of this month.

However, speaking on BBC 5 Live's Sportsweek program, Purslow revealed that he expects some players to arrive at Anfield in a bid to help Hodgson restore the club's place in the Champions League, following last season's failure to qualify for the competition.

"The target is significant improvement. We think our club and players belong in the Champions League - so that is where we would like to be, " he said.

"I think there will be one or two more ins and outs. There are a few people who will move on.

"Javier has been wanting to go for personal reasons. We have not had any offers for him, and the manager is very happy with him, but it is true he is looking for a move."

The Reds MD also insisted that the club will not rush any takeover proposals despite the need for new ownership.

Chairman Martin Broughton had harboured hopes of a deal being completed before the close of the transfer window on September 1, but a club statement on Friday indicated that the sale process is continuing after the board reviewed a number of proposed bids.

Purslow, one of the Anfield board members inspecting potential investors, refused to place a time limit on finalizing a deal to end George Gillett and Tom Hicks' reign as owners due to the necessity of choosing a buyer who can meet Liverpool's long-term ambitions and needs.

He added: "We have had a number of bids [and] will take time to examine those extremely carefully.

"I am not going to put a time limit on it. The challenge now is to sort the wheat from the chaff.

"We have just received some written bids at this stage, and it would be wrong to characterise anybody as a front-runner."

Do people actually think about some of these rumours before they post??

I mean some I have read on here are so far off the page they should be on another website called spacecadets.com

Be under no illusion after today's performance. This is just the same rubbish from last season. Hoofing the ball up field, no creativity in midfield, Johnson cannot defend, Kuyt is a headless chicken and letting in late goals. There was more effort than last season but that is the affect of a new manager, which will fade as the season goes on. Unless there is new ownership soon and fresh investment in the squad then I fear that we will not be any better than last season.

The person who wrote this above must have been watching a different game to me.
Kuyt was excellent, Jovanovic was awsome, Ngog is like a new man(still needs 5 chances to score 1), Carragher was amazing. Agger was a hero, Joe cole done well but needs games, Gerrard didn't play well, and needs to give other people a chance on free kicks, but he will imporove, Mascherano stunk and needs to go now, only interested in kicking people. I respect your views, but I think we are looking good, possibly great.

15 Aug 2010 22:28:29
Why do so many dick heads post s* te on this site, if you are really LFC fans then stop supporting them as you haven't got a clue, if your not fans then you are so sad.

We need a striker to cover for Torres and Ngog, yes i said Ngog, the lad is bursting with confidence and currently deserves his start. We're not gonna get a big name as they won't play 3rd fiddle to the other 2.

I want Bellamy back, but don't think it's gonna happen.

15 Aug 2010 22:20:46
Liverpool will be a title contender if we get three more players a striker, left-back and a decent winger. I believe these players will probably be remy and probably hleb both of these would be good signings, but the money will only come from a deal for mascherano. Who ANDY GRAY said this afternoon had played his last game for liverpool and is going because of his WIFE and Daughter who are unsettled in merseyside.

15 Aug 2010 22:18:53
For the first time in a long time Liverpool looked strong and confident, admittedly we weren't very good in the first half and Arsenal looked better, but 2nd half after we got the goal we looked good and in fact looked like scoring again. Joe was unlucky to get sent off, I think he just overdone the block and followed through. Pepe was very unlucky at the end and we'll let him off with that as he's the worlds best and can make mistakes once in a while. It's amazing how a couple of goals give you confidence, Ngog is playing like somebody who thinks he's gonna score every chance he gets. Jovanovic was very busy and very involved, Gerrard wasn't very good at all, but will get better. We were excellent at the back, amazing what happens when you bin zonal marking. Still loads of room for improvement, but that is excellent as we nearly saw the Gunners off with a mediocre team. Don't expect us to buy anybody in the next 2 weeks as the club sale has bollocks all that up and will cost us any chance of the title. Top 4 finish and rid of the two Yank t* ts will do me, also a cup win, for Nando.

Few things:
We had our creative midfielder sent off (didn't deserve it either).
I can only remember arsenal getting behind Johnson twice, which isn't bad against Arshavin/Walcott.
Kuyt was one of our best players, as he always is, and looked more creative than usual today. Anyone criticising Kuyt must not have seen the match.
Late goal was a rare mistake from Reina, apart from that we were pretty solid, considering we had 10 men and Agger was concussed.

15 Aug 2010 20:20:40
We need loic remy badly as at least we will up a fast 2 footed stricker up front

KUYT! first 16 touches he had, he gave it to Arsenal 13 times. Like Dutchy says but that doesn't matter because he works hard! haha. I'm with you Dutchy, he's the worst player to put on our great s* t and utter disgrace!

Why do you bitter blue or Manc fans keep coming onto a LFC site pretending to be Liverpool fans?? Because trust me NO true Liverpool fan would attack one of our own players, if you are a Liverpool fan you are a disgrace to our great club!

If these reported prices are true then are net spend so far is £0 with a positive balance of £600k not including any Insua and Masch deal that will happen this window

IN
Wilson £2m
Shelvey £1.7m
poulsen £4.5m

OUT
riera £3.3m
yossi £5.5m

IF RH had £15m to start with, bundle that with masch & Insua money and that's a tidy pot. could buy a good ST and LB

15 Aug 2010 18:58:40
Best liverpool team:

Reina(GK)
Johnson(RB) Carra(CB) Skrtle(CB) Cole?(LB)
Banega(CDM) Mashcerano(CDM)
Aguero(RAM) Gerrard(CF) Villa(LAM)
FERNANDO TORRES(ST)
BENCH: Hart(GK)-J.Cole-Aqualani-Agger-Kelly-Ngog(give him time)-Kuyt.

If mashc leaves which is really likely i think lfc should buy alonso or give lucas a chance
this would probably cost around 100m because of masch sale

15 Aug 2010 18:55:49
Kuyt is a quality player Did you pair of n**s watch the world cup ? We played well today all round team performance fair play to masch.Unlucky for Cole , too enthusiastic, but about time We were. Agger struggled last 10 and shouldnt have been on , you could tell he was concussed. Keeper was great just wear a friggin cap next time!Am very happy with what I've seen , a couple of signings and we'll be up there. any1 who can have a go at any of them players today. .well you best get ome the cottage homes closes at 9. Before slating people get YOUR facts right. . .

""""Would people please stop saying Mascherano only has a year left on his contract and could leave next summer for free. At least do some research before commenting, it's well known he has two years left.""""

Mascherano has a year and a half on his contract he signed a four year deal in feb 2008 this will leave around 18 month's, so not the 2 years stated.
YOU DO YA RESEARCH !

And the point most are making is we need to get best money for him while he still has some time on his contract as come end of jan he'll only have a year left and we have all seen how this, (short contract) is a major factor in reduced transfer fee's, or even lead to players running out their contract or buying it out."
- - Following months of speculation, Mascherano signed a four-year permanent contract with Liverpool on 29 February 2008, ending Javier Mascherano association with Media Sports Investments. The transfer, which reportedly cost Liverpool £18.6 m, which covers not only the transfer fee, but also the players' wages for the four years deal.- - - - - -

15 Aug 2010 18:13:35
Ngog has now showed us throughout pre-season and today against arsenal that he has great ability that dos'nt change the fact we need a proven quality back up for torres, but atleast it takes pressure off RH and allows him to wait and find the perfect up-front option.

Latest in the LFC sale News;

Liverpool managing director Christian Purslow says the club will not make any hasty decisions on their future.
The Reds are still under the ownership Tom Hicks and George Gillett, but Chairman Martin Broughton is on a mission to find the Americans' successors.
"We have had a number of bids for the club. We will take time to examine those extremely carefully, " he told BBC Radio 5 Live's Sportsweek program.
"Second to that is [the need] to sell the club as soon as possible."
Purslow insists nonetheless the right buyer - Chinese businessman Kenny Huang and Canadian-based Syrian Yahya Kirdi are reportedly among the interested parties - is much more important than the quickest one.
"We will make sure we take our time, " he continued.
"I am not going to put a time limit on it. The challenge now is to sort the wheat from the chaff.
"I would not expect it to be a lifetime - but I would not expect it to be tomorrow either.
"We have just received some written bids at this stage, and it would be wrong to characterise anybody as a front-runner."
Lucky Arsenal, Ngog the new £20m striker ;)

I hope your man enough to now admit you are wrong. as he was one of our best players today, it always surprises me how little knowledge some fans have about our own players and football in general!

Why Are Some People Unhappy With Hleb Being Linked With Liverpool, I Mean The Guy Was Amazing For Arsenal, Arsene Wenger Really Didnt Want To Let Him Go But Hleb Forced The Move Through Because He Didnt Like The Physical Nature Of The Premier League, Id Take Him As Part Of The Masch Deal, Maybe Not 10 Million Of The Fund But Id Still Have Him, Personally I'd Try Get A Few More Players Thrown Into The Deal, Maxwell Or Abidal And Maybe Keita !

Just a thought regarding Masch. Everyone keeps saying that if we sell Masch to Barca and take the cash as well as Hleb it would be a carp deal just think on this my old chums. If Barca are only offering Hleb and no one else and, Inter don't come in with the money what other deals are on the table for Masch. . None is the answer so for everybody that keeps saying get Bojan or, whoever it aint gonna happen. We are over a barrel with Masch, Barca and Inter know this, I personally think take the deal with Barca get shot of Masch take Hleb who in my opinion is not that bad a player we will have some cash out of the deal look at buying some other players, or player. Its either take the deal with Barca or, we end up keeping Masch for another season he will be pissed off that the deal did not happen get the arse, then the following season he will be sold for about £10 Mill. Then everyone will say we should have taken the deal when it was on the table.
Its not hard is it my friends ! ! Think about it !

H&G WILL KEEP MOST OF THE MASCHERANO MONEY TO PAY OF PENALTY FINES AND INTEREST , ROYS SHOULD JUST SWAP MASCHERANO FOR HLEB , BOJAN AND ABIDAL , THIS WOULD HLEB AND JOE COLE PLUS MAXI BABEL , AND GERRARD WOULD BE ENOUGH ATTACKING POWER PLUS TORRES AND BOJAN , KYUT AND JOVONAVIC . ITS THE DEFENCE THATS SUSPECT HAS BEEN FOR THE LAST TWO SEASONS. WE NEED A RE4PLACEMENT RB FOR JOHNSON AND A DECENT CENTRE HALF WITH PACE. I LOVE CARRAGHER HE, S A GREAT TEAM PLAYER ND A REAL LIVERPOOL P-LAYER , BUT HE, S GETTING ON NOW AND JUST DOESNT HAVE THE PACE TO DEAL WITH ALL THE PREMIER LEAGUES FASTER AND TRICKERY PLAYERS. .AGGER AND SKRTEL ARE INJURY PRONE AND DONT HAVE SO MUCH PACE EITHER. .

Mate, i would love to see hleb surprising me. But, i don't see that happening. . he would be an another kuyt for us. Work rate, but no end product. Come january he would be a liability for us. . sorry, but no to hleb.

And, mind you he still has to find the back of net in barcaa colors in la liga. Hleb scored only 7 goals for gunners in premier league. Only 7 !

Blood is 'red' for a reason.

In reply to the person who said this:

"BUISNESS STILL TO HAPPEN @ LIVERPOOL:

IN:
Stephen Warnock - Aston Villa - 10m
Aleksander Hleb - Barcelona - 8m
Andy Carroll - Newcastle - 7m
Brad Jones - Middlesbrough - 2.5m
27.5m

OUT:
Javier Mascherano - Inter Milan - 28m
Emiliano Insua - Atletico Madrid - 5m
Maxi Rodriguez - Espanyol - 3.5m
Diego Cavalieri - Fluminese - 2.5m
Damien Plessis - Benfica - 2.25m
Charles Itandje - Marseille - 1.2m
Jay Spearing - Hull - 1m
Nabil El Zhar - Burnley - 800k
Peter Gulasci - Tranmere - 250k
Total: 44.5m

TEAM:
Reina
Johnson Carragher Agger Warnock
Aquilaini Poulsen
Kuyt Gerrard Cole
Torres

Subs: Jones, Skrtel, Aurelio, Lucas, Hleb, Babel, Carroll"

Are u serious andy caroll is no where near liverpool standard, hleb is not worth 8m, roy hodgson has stated he is not buying warnock to reinforce the LB situation, an y would we want to get rid of maxi as he had a good world cup and we need more depth in our squad so y sell him to build funds for. . no-one, as u hav put we will spend 27.5m and bring in 44.5m, wat about the left over 17m?

Takeover will not be completed in time for this transfer window. Hence Purslow coming out with 'taking our time story'. . RH will have a Plan B, but as we all know it all depends on the Mascherano deal. LFC have now tried to call Inters bluff and this week we will probably see the outcome. If Inter fail to make an acceptable bid and Barcelona can't come up with the cash then Mascherano will probably bide his time till January & RH gets a chance to work with Masch.
Probable squad after transfer window shuts:

JOHNSON- - -CARRAGHER- - - -AGGER- - - -AURELIO

15 Aug 2010 09:45:56I live in germany and have just read the german papers saying that liverpool are after mertsacker.

we now have 5 1st team centre backs not to mention a few kids who are able to stand in when required (ayala, darby and kelly can play there also) so why do we need to even consider signing another? besides, mertesacker is trunks. hes too slow, easily turned and is a complete ball watcher. not suitable for PL style of play.

Reina
Johnson Carragher Agger Aurelio
Lucas Gerrard
Kuyt/Maxi Cole Jovanovic
Torres/Kuyt

Bench:Maxi/Torres, Pacheco, Kelly, Aquilani, Babel, Cavalieri, Ngog

Lucas will start ahead of Aquilani. It's obvious considering that RH handed him the armband in pre-season instead of Aquilani

Torres may start on the bench due to injury. Kuyt to play lone ST and Maxi will play RW

Poulsen will not be in the squad. He had just arrived. .

neither will Masch. Guess he will play as back up player until he can find a new club.

neither

Liverpool team to play arsenal: ( This is 100% the line-up. )

Please post this Ed, I posted it last night but you didn't submit it.

- - - - -Reina- - - - - - - - -
Johnson-Carragher-Skrtel-Agger
- - - -Masch-Gerrard- - - - -
- - Kuyt-J.Cole-Jovanovic- - -
- - - - - -N'gog- - - - - - - -
Bench: Cavalieri, Insua, Kyrgiakos, Maxi, Aquilani, Lucas, Torres/Babel

Now, onto rumours:

RH knows he has inherited a quality squad, and felt - when he first came - he only needed a couple of signings to push on in the league; last season our squad majorly under-performed.

He has signed Poulsen, Wilson, J.Cole, Jovanovic, Aurelio - all relatively cheap signings. He knows pretty much every Liverpool fan is begging for a new striker to back-up Torres. He has addressed this issue, and has Kevin Doyle, Peter Crouch, Roman Pavlyuchenko and Craig Bellamy lined up. Despite what he stated in his pre-match conference.

He does not want to splash out on an Aguero, Tevez, Dzeko because he knows there won't be any room for them in his line-up ( and there's no funds )

This will also depend on the sale of Javier Mascherano, if he doesn't leave, expect to see only Kevin Doyle/Peter Crouch/Craig Bellamy. If he does leave, Pavlyuchenko is more likely as he costs a bit more than the rest. Also if he does leave, expect to see a replacement: Roy has stated Poulsen is not a direct replacement for Mascherano. Mario Bolatti, Steven Defour and Axel Witsel have been lined up. ( Bolatti was watched by Dalglish in the Argentina/Ireland game, no-one else was watched )

Liverpool managing director Christian Purslow admits his club need to find new owners "as soon as possible" but will not make any hasty compromises on their future.

The Reds are still under the ownership Tom Hicks and George Gillett, but chairman Martin Broughton is on a mission to find the Americans' successors.

"We have had a number of bids for the club. We will take time to examine those extremely carefully, " he told BBC Radio 5 Live's Sportsweek programme.

"We have just received some written bids at this stage, and it would be wrong to to characterise anybody as a front-runner

This is part of the interview Purslow did for BBC R5L today.

For me personally this is excatly what i want to hear IF we have "Written bids" on the table instead of purposed bids then there's no doubt in my mind they are doing the right thing and not rushing the process. We don't want a repeat of the disaster that is G&H.

I don't care if it's not done before the transfer window closes just as long as they pick the right custodian for the club.

Then with new owners in place we can use the January transfer window and strenghten the squad if need be we don't need that much strenthening anyway.

This was a story reported by Foxsports in Australia today. . . The Royal Bank of Scotland is preparing to take over Barclays Premier League giants Liverpool as the search for a buyer looks increasingly likely to end in failure.

The Sunday Times is reporting that negotiations last week, including with Chinese sports tycoon Kenny Huang and Syrian businessman Yahya Kirdi, proved fruitless.

None of the buyers was able to prove they had the money, said the paper, citing sources close to the talks.

If a new owner cannot be found, the club's main lender, RBS - which is 83 per cent owned by the British taxpayer following a huge bailout during the financial crisis - may have to take it over.

Liverpool owes the bank £237 million (A$370m) which must be repaid by October 6 or a penalty fee of £60 million (A$104m) will be due.

The bank wants to find a credible bidder by the end of this month. RBS is not keen to seize the club but talks have taken place with officials at Anfield in case the search for a buyer fails.

If RBS took control, there would likely be a new bidding round.

Liverpool was put on the market by American co-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillet in April after RBS lost patience with the club's mounting debts.

Reports have said Huang's bid is being funded by the Chinese government but the businessman has remained tight-lipped on the matter.

Bruce Buck, more like Uncle Buck. what an @**E to say LFC are a smallish club. Chelsea think they are big because they have a wealthy owner, but everyone knows they ain't even the biggest club in london. LFC maybe has less funds but we are alot bigger than chelski will ever be.

As an ardent Liverpool fan, im finding it stomach wrenching at some of the players we are linked with. . . Carlton Cole? GIGNAC? ROQUE SANTA CRUZ? Its like last season with Kenwyne Jones?? Why?? Average players. . I know we haven't the funds to splash on a player like Aquero, or nameless others. . BUT please lets have a bit of stability Liverpool Fans, our squad at the moment is more than capable to hold its own until a takeover is completed. . .AND even then we shouldn't be splashing silly money on players that may take a season or two to settle in. TORRES is an exceptional one off of coming in and settling down, his goal ratio is phernominal. . .we paid around 20-26mill for him. Where as at the same time United paid 32mill for Berbatov. .HMMMM which team came out better? We aquired Lucas, United paid silly money for Anderson, which team came out better?
WE HAVE ample cover for Torres at the moment in Babel, Kuyt, Jovanovic and N'Gog, under ROY things will be different, players will be given the chance, sometimes the shackles will be let off. . .
LAST SEASON was a one off. . . we didn't become a bad club overnight. I think a case of boardroom wranglings and RAFA's stubborness affected the players mentally, after finishing 2nd the other season, RAFA expected big funds to improve the squad. . it never happenened so he spat the dummy out. HE did have every right to, where did the 35mill of the ALONSO(sorely missed) sale go? The money from Dossena and Voronin go?
Now ROY has been brought in to freshen it up, its virtually the same squad. He's kept the likes of Gerrard and Torres as the papers say. BUT there was NEVER a doubt that they would leave the club, both very honest players that dissmiss the limelight and go about their off-field lives the best they can. Mascherano as good as he is with the right player alongside him, wants to leave for his family's sake. Now if he plays today against Arsenal. . . SUPPORT HIM! ! He is an expensive commodity and if a bid does come in for him, we should get the best deal and wish him all the best. HE doesn't need to be replaced. . .Lucas can play there and we ain't neccessarily have to play with 2 defensive midfielders, ESPECIALLY at home. Poulsen i feel has been brought in similar to Didi Hamann, bring a bit of stability when we are winning, losing or drawing. The settled no nonsence midfielder. Can defend a lead, neutralize an attacking team. Let the attack minded players unleash. RE-signing Aurelio was a bit of shrewd business, new fitness and sports therapists will not only help him but others aswell. Insua played too many games at a young age with no competition last season. The experience gained from that will have done him good, if we sell him then fair enough. . BUT this is a player ive said numerous times on other sites that would take the PREM like a duck to water with the right guidance. I also said on numerous other sites, that the likes of Pacheco, Kelly, Ayala and afew other youngsters with the right guidance will blossom. ROY will see this. .
Im looking forward to seeing a fit Aquilani, the talent is there and from what ive seen in pre-season, he's gained some pounds for the physical side of the game in England. We don't have to worry Liverpool Fans, we have to go in our droves to support them, get behind the team, be the 12 MAN. . . its our club and our team. . .things will fall into place, there is too much history and tradition that follows the foundations of this club, to let it slip away. . . . .SLICKY4 JUSTICE FOR THE 96 Y.N.W.A

I really have to recommend this post - superb sense and with LFC sentiments at it's heart! Stop panicking and TRUST. !

Im sick to death of all the names been mentioned all closed season that are cumming to our great club on this site. where do most of u get your info coz its crap and you just repeat each others rubbish.i mean who has realy if they were been honest to them selves watched anything of turan because i havnt and why arnt other top clubs being linked to him.the only player that has come this season that was quite a suprise was cole other tan that to others were already cumming from last season and rh told the press himself of his desire to bring in poulsen so there wasnt any suprise when he came.to sum things up if we are just guessing players that might come to our club i here messi is on his way with villa, alonso, xavi, scniejder, robben and drogba. .if i forgot any one im sure some of you will make it up.

Ya this guy obviously hasnt a clue about football or what its like to follow a team that's history doesn't fit on the back of a postage stamp. Or maybe hes just a bit upset that Joe Cole snubbed them for the best team in the world. Muppet.

I would just like to remind everyone what Yahya Kirdi was saying just a few days ago.
He said that a meeting would take place with all parties involved, H+G, Broughton and Purslow and they would decide on who was best for the club and the first part of the takeover would go through.
Now, I don't like Kirdi, nor do I want him at the club, but according to him, this meeting would take place hours before the Liverpool - Arsenal game, so I'd imagine a 12:00pm meeting. The owners would be announced and the FA would be notified. Now I am personally waiting until then to see if it was another lie from Kirdi, or in fact he meant that he could be named Liverpool owner before the Arsenal match.

Kenny Huang has emerged as the favourite to take over at Liverpool. It has emerged that he and his consortium have impressed and are Martin Broughton's and Christian Purslow's preffered choice. The only thing that is holding a deal back is that Huang is looking to purchase the debts from RBS which would leave Hicks and Gillett with little profit and lead them into legally challenging any potential sale of the club.

Expect this news to be printed in the press within the next couple of days.

Just to shed some light on the potential Liverpool takeover. The club's board have met this weekend with seven potential buyers (of which three have been invited to attend the Arsenal match and West Brom game) to discuss their plans in order for the board to decide which party they should choose and submit a notice of takeover to the premier league.

I have been told of a number of names who are suppossed to be potential buyer and mainly are from the middle east and asia. There is a consortium which im led to believe that have links to DIC but would purchase the club from personal fortune and not through an investment group.

Yayha Kirdi and his consortium are now out the running as they wanted to wait the two months to purchase the club from RBS and not the two cowboys. Gillett and Hicks cannot afford this to happen and are looking for a deal to be concluded within September.

From a source within the betting industry I have been told that Kenny Huang is still favourite to be the new Liverpool owner along with his consortium. This is purely down to the fact that Huang has had access to the clubs accounts once before.

14 Aug 2010 22:56:21Sick of deluded fans postin things about arda turan he is cup tied an he isn't coming this season so stop makin complete nonsense up, just because u post lies doesn't mean that it will increase the chance of him coming. Liverpool will sign 1 more player and it will be Gignac.

with all due respect, we signed maxi in jan and he was cup tied. im not jumping on the turan bandwagon, just pointing out that we still could sign him and use him solely for PL and domestic cup matches. as for your statement on gignac, isn't that a little lie of your own? no one knows if he will sign so to say 'liverpool will sign 1 more player and it will be gignac' is just sheer speculation. if you had put 'maybe' or 'i think', it would just be considered opinion. so you just did what your slabbering about what other people are doing. shame on you.

Due to Ballotelli's City move completed, Rafa will use the money to buy Mascherano for £22m or he may TRY and get him for £12m + Cambiasso. I'm not sure if we would want Cambiasso (as we just bought Poulsen) or if he'd fit in, in the current squad. However, Roy may take into mind that he is unlikely to see the money and therefore may use him as back-up or as a first team regular. Cambiasso may be 30 but he is still a quality player.

Also, there are still the possibilities that Barcelona are still interested in buy Masherano (though I think they have a perfectly sufficient midfield without him) and if true i would expect a bid of abiut £25m. Though, as I said previously it is unlikely we will see any money, though there is a slim chance Roy may get to use a chunk of it. Personally I think Ribery is out of touch at Munich so maybe Roy could haggle his way for him. Meaning Kuyt could to his natural striking role, which we all loved him for in his first season, to partner Torres. Any thoughts?

Ed - I agree, there should be a Want/ Don't Want section.

"According to French press, Gignac could be on his way to anfield."

^^came from his agent first, so is likely trying to get his client a move (and a personal payday)

"Santa cruz could also be a Liverpool player by the end of the transfer window."

^^doubt it. can't get a game for city. liverpool like to think that they're on the same level as city.

"Liverpool are also interested in young belgian striker lukaku."

^^his agent says that lukaku wants to stay in belgium for another year (good move, he's only 17 plus his contract runs out in 2012 so he could he could go to any club he wants in 2011 for cheap transfer)

My girlfriends uncle works for sheikh maktoum in Dubai. This isn't a my mums dog * * * on a girl who knows gerrards uncle type of rumour, BUT. . He's flown back to England and more importantly Liverpool unexpectedly and we haven't seen him yet because aparently he's too busy! He came over late Wednesday night/ Thursday morning. I'm not saying he is speaking to Liverpool but it's a bit strange no ones seen him and he's a massive Liverpool fan! He's not the MD or anything but he's something to do with accounts. Fingers crossed!
