"Ed can you set up a petition to get Kenny knighted, and let people sign it? I remember the Newcastle fans doing this for Sir Bobby Robson.

Blair Mayne YNWA {Ed001's Note - yes I could set one up, if any man deserves it then it has to be the King of the Kop, not for his on field activities either. He did so much for the families and does so much for charity in general, the man is an inspiration.}

I agree mate. That's why i said one time on here that Kenny is the best person ever to walk through the corridors at Anfield. I know no one is bigger than the club but Kenny comes pretty close.

And they still call Geoffrey Archer "Lord Archer" it's a f***ing joke.

Blair Mayne YNWA"

If this happens can you post it round the other forums? I'm more than happy to put my name down on it and i'm sure the majority of football fans will also be happy to do the same.

A schoolboy holds a leather ball
in a photograph on a bedroom wall
the bed is made, the curtains drawn
as silence greets the break of dawn.

The dusk gives way to morning light
revealing shades of red and white,
which hang from posters locked in time
of the Liverpool team of 89.

Upon a pale white quilted sheet
a football kit is folded neat
with a yellow scarf, trimmed with red
and some football boots beside the bed.

In hope, the room awakes each day
to see the boy who used to play
but once again it wakes alone
for this young boy s not coming home.

Outside, the springtime fills the air
the smell of life is everywhere
viola s bloom and tulips grow
while daffodils dance heel to toe.

These should have been such special times
for a boy who d now be in his prime
but spring forever turned to grey
in the Yorkshire sun, one April day.

The clock was locked on 3.06
as sun shone down upon the pitch
lighting up faces etched in pain
as death descended on Leppings Lane.

Between the bars an arm is raised
amidst a human tidal wave
a young hand yearning to be saved
grows weak inside this deathly cage.

A boy not barely in his teens
is lost amongst the dying screams
a body too frail to fight for breath
is drowned below a sea of death

His outstretched arm then disappears
to signal thirteen years of tears
as 96 souls of those who fell
await the toll of the justice bell.

Ever since that disastrous day
a vision often comes my way
I reach and grab his outstretched arm
then pull him up away from harm.

We both embrace with tear-filled eyes
I then awake to realise
it s the same old dream I have each week
as I quietly cry myself to sleep.

On April the 15th every year
when all is calm and skies are clear
beneath a glowing Yorkshire moon
a lone Scots piper plays a tune.

The tune rings out the justice cause
then blows due west across the moors
it passes by the eternal flame
then engulfs a young boys picture frame.

His room is as it was that day
for thirteen years it s stayed that way
untouched and frozen forever in time
since that tragic day in 89.

And as it plays its haunting sound
tears are heard from miles around
they re tears from families of those who fell
awaiting the toll of the justice bell.

The Moon.

Hi guys, I know we're normally at each other's throats and always arguing but i'd just like to say myself and i'm sure every other person in the country football related or not are thinkin' of the 96 people lost all those years ago.

I'm sure they're all sadly missed by friends and loved ones.

So here's to those 96 people, Their Families and Friends.

May they All Rest In Peace.

Just watched the Mourinho press conference, which he never said a word. How f***ing arrogant is this man? Spanish reporters got up and walked out in protest.

The only time i want to see him at Anfield. Is when he brings one of his teams to play us. The Spanish and Italian press both detest this man. But yet the Engish media think he is the best thing since sliced bread.

Just goes to show how stupid and naive the British media really are.

Blair Mayne YNWA {Ed001's Note - it is not just the media in Spain that hate him, me mam and dad live there and they were telling me it is pretty much a universal hatred of him in Andalucia where they are.}

Meireles not even on the bench? Some people have no clue.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Where would you put him then? I love Meireles, he's top draw! But I don't know where he would fit in our team if every midfielder is fit. He's not quite physical enough, nor a strong tackler to be CM in a 442. Also with the wingers coming in he won't be playing out wide. So where? That's why he weren't 'even on the bench' cause Adam would be ahead of him in the pecking order. If your gonna claim I have no clue atleast explain why.

Please excuse me for ranting on this very sad day. For you 96 will never be forgotten. Justice will prevail!

Hey wat up lads?
I don't see the fixation with bale. He insults the city and people, can run very fast and spends nearly as much time as aurelio on the treatment room. Yet people still want him he is a tosser a very fast one but a total tosser. We want defenders who can defend and wingers who can dribble pass players and deliver a heck of a final ball. He has had a handful of good games only, if we are looking for pace we should prob go for Usain Bolt he's kinda quick. Bale reminds me of an injury prone Kevin (Zinedine) Kilbane just kick it into space and run like hell after it.

Cissoko (Lyon)
Pander ( german)
Payet (St.Etienne)
Mata (Valencia)

These are the type left backs and wingers we should be after.

Fowler is God

Just bumped into Pepe Reina with his family in Costco. Big smiles, happy to pose for photos with my kids and seemed a genuinely nice bloke. He bought a massive new barbecue, a kids playhouse and a huge bouncy castle. I think he might be staying seeing as he's doing up his garden! The box of big chocolate muffins weren't much of an indication either way because they'll be gone before Sunday.

Just watched the service, very emotional like it is every year. pleased to see rafa got a special mention. I know some people blame rafa for recent problems but for me the problems came with the two yanks. I personaly believe he done his best to hold the club together under difficult circumstances. I felt both sad and proud for the man because its plain too see he still very much loves liverpool football club and everything being liverpool fc manager brings. The way he shed a tear means he understands the passion and emotions a scouser goes through every year, its hard to get that connection with fans and managers never mind passed managers. rafa benitez you are a true red stand proud ynwa. justice for the 96.

Connor wickham and alex chamberlain will both sign for liverpool this summer but will return on loan to clubs for the season.
this will guarentee there signature for liverpool give the players a year of first team football and there clubs cash for promotion push and keep players as well.
its a win win for everbody.

(6) (5)

i think maybe one of these might happen, but not both, neither of these are gonna come cheap, and to loan them both back would not benefit us next year, it would be a huge investment and not strengthen us in the slightest.
we need investment in the first team to push for a top 4 return.
ed would you agree?

matt 27 {Ed005's Note - I can't see us spending the amount required to get both players and just send them out on loan.}

After just watching the memorial service it still brings tears to my eyes. All those young people lost just watching football on one sunny afternoon, a tragedy and a monumental injustice. It puts the day to day trials of football into perspective, who shall manage who shall we buy, just don't seem to matter on days like these.
What really matters is the personal side, Torres has recently stated that there is no loyalty in football. I hoped he watched the memorial from his London penthouse and hung his head in shame as he saw thousands of loyal people fighting for what they feel is right and seeing people like Kenny Dalglish, Steven Gerrard, Ian Rush just to name a few giving their support, sometimes theres more to life than money and winning. Also I would like to mention Rafa Benitez who made a very generous donation to the cause and has always given his unreserved supported to the people of Liverpool. We should never forget Benitez as all he ever wanted was to give Liverpool the success he believed they deserved. What ever people say about him I will always respect him, a true gentleman. Lets hope we get the justice the families deserve and to all the brave soles, you'll never walk alone.

Ok ED yes it is a banter site but Ed 05 wasarrogant in his summing up as he said the guy can't even score regulary in the championship using his career total 1 in 4. I don't care if he disagrees I just don't like him trying to belittle my comments. I said the lad has improved this season and he has 1 in 2.Whether he makes the step up who knows, but when you ask an Eds comment.It should be measured not loaded. {Ed005's Note - Just because I don't think Shane Long is good enough for Liverpool doesn't mean I am arrogant. How could he possibly move to a club our size when he isn't even proven at Premiership level yet? Sorry, but he's simply not good enough and do you really think if Carroll or Suarez picked up an injury this guy could come in and produce the goods?}

Square tomato {Ed001's Note - can I pick neither? I really don't want either myself.}

Ye fair enuff ed but who would you realistically prefer? because these are the sought of players I can see coming sadly

Square tomato {Ed001's Note - probably Downing, he is less prone to hide if he gets a kick. Seemed a nice lad too when he was at Boro, but he was just a bit overshadowed by Johnson who was a class apart.}

****************************
I'll fly the flag for the local boys then Ed. Any of: Jarvis, Young, Albrighton, N'Zogbia, Downing would be great additions! Marveaux is a risk (lightweight & injury prone) - as we have seen with Cole & Jova - a free agent can cost you if he flops unless you wanna get stuck with him. .

15 Apr 2011 20:24:23
Cheers Ed03 If your not convinced by Long fine, but i am disapointed in ED 05 comment Long is improving 2nd in top scorers table in the championship 21 in 40. Ed 05 says he as a 1 in 4 ratio.The guy as just turned 24 and his improving as his stats for this season 1 in 2 proves I appreciate your imputs Ed, but in his summing up ED 05 as come over as arrogant. {Ed003's Note -Ed 005 is not arrogant, he simply doesnt rate Long,the whole idea of a banter site is everyones opinion can be given and that includes the Ed's,Long has improved after his injury problems and you may be proved right but at he moment I dont think he's good enough for Liverpool either}

15 Apr 2011 20:01:48
Shane long as improved rapidly over the last year Ed he as netted 23 goals in 50 games so far. So your manipulation of his career games to goal ratio to back up your comment is abit unfair He has only just turned 24 and as I said its my opinion he would make a decent squad player. you can be a bit fairer in your comment as the player is improving. {Ed003's Note -Different Ed mate,but i'm not convinced by him either}

Sure mate, Young is no better than any winger we have and Adam is no better than any midfielder we have, M'Vila is no better than Poulsen, Cahill is no better than Kygiakos, Baines is no better than Konchesky. . Seriously, what is your issue? The Sanchez, Aguero's, Cavani's, Hazard's of this world are not coming! It's not like we linked with C. Cole anymore! !

'Why's people so worried about Kenny's knighthood, it's stupid. He is the KING, come on.
Long Live The King.'

Too true, my friend. In all my years I have never met a scouser who game a rats arse about the royal family so it surprises to see people going on about it all the time. Kenny is a good Glaswegian lad, so I would have thought he feels the same - although Sir Alex (makes me laugh everytime I hear it) obviously didn't have the same scruples.

April 15th is the saddest day of every year and my thoughts are with the 96 and their families. I was there and was lucky, my prayers go out to those who weren't so lucky. You'll never walk alone.

It was great to see Dave Kirby's poem 'The Justice Bell' reproduced on this Forum, so I thought I'd post a poem I wrote about 4 recent tragedies at British football grounds. I hope lessons have been learned from all these tragedies and that football supporters are not taken for granted, so that they can go to games in complete safety in the future. We may support different teams but we all belong to the football family.

THEY NEVER CAME HOME

At Ibrox, on a cold misty January day,
The Old Firm boys, they came out to play.
The year was nineteen seventy one,
Wee Jinky scored, the Gers set off home.
Then, a late equaliser, swept in by Stein,
Chaos ensued on Stairway Thirteen.

Remember the 66 who never came home.

Bradford City v Lincoln at Valley Parade,
In May 85, 3rd Division Champs celebrate.
Cardboard and rubbish left under the stand,
Carelessness kills, they should understand.
In no time at all, the flames they rage wild,
Trapped where they stood, man woman and child.

Remember the 56 who never came home.

Two weeks after Bradford, do they have no shame?
With families still grieving, thugs kick off again.
Let down by UEFA, who chose the wrong ground,
Heysel was crumbling as screams rang around.
With Italians and Belgians laying lifeless in rubble,
They played out the game to prevent further trouble.

Remember the 39 who never came home.

On the 15th of April, in the year eighty nine,
They set off for Hillsborough to have a good time.
Wembley was close, Forest stood in the way,
Disaster unfolded after just six minutes play.
Breathing their last as Police just stood by,
They covered their backs, telling lie after lie.

Remember the 96 who never came home.

Two hundred and fifty seven innocent souls,
Hoping to see some spectaculour goals.
They gave unconditional love to their teams,
Taken for granted, their joy turned to screams.
Now they look down from the stand in the sky,
They never came home from a football game - why?

This is not a rumour, but a personal opinion, I think Shane Long would be a good addition to our squad.He has plenty of guts, and in ways reminds me of Aldo.I can't see him being too much and would be perfect cover, much better than Ngog I remember him getting the winner for Reading in a cup tie, at Anfield, a header at the Kop end. I have took an interest in him since. He has been doing well in the championship.Yes I know it is a lower division, but I think he is a winner and would be a great addition to our squad.The keyword being squad.What do you think ED? {Ed005's Note - Not good enough to even be a squad player at our club. His record in the Championship is like one goal every four games - if he can't even score on a regular basis in that league how could he be a useful squad player here?}

Just wanna say after seeing the photos from Hillsborough Memorial Service that anyone who says Rafa doesn't care needs to have a rethink, I always liked him and this shows exactly how much he thinks of the club.
********************
I never liked Rafa as our manager, but must admit I never doubted he cared for the club and was a good bloke. If only he could stay out of the politics, stop the stubborness, learn some better interpersonal skills and try playing more positive football - combined with his tactical genius and the passion he has - he would be a top top manager.

Service today was a tear jerker, RIP 96. YNWA

Summer signings for me would be

S. Defour. Liege.
S. Cazorla. Villereal.
E. Banega. Valencia.
S. Canales. R. Madrid.
A. Sanchez. Udinese.(marquee signing).

Best midfield for years to come, all young talented and technically excellent. Would cost roughly 80 million but we could recoup around 30 million on players such as Aqualani (15), Jovanovic (5), Rodriguez (4), Degan (2), Insua (3), Ngog (5) and Kyriagos (1 if not free).

Do you think were likely to get any of these?

Not had a chance to see the memorial service yet but this site is a tribute in itself and you should all be proud of yourselves and the great Liverpool Football Club.
Man U might have more titles soon, Chelsea may develop a history but this club has more than trophies and an enviable record. It has a deep connection to the people who support it and it honors that relationship like no other club.
Just reading some of these posts brings a tear to my eye.

This is more of a question?
As the club are unlikely to be competing in the champions league next season does the fair play rules apply starting this summer to liverpool as well.
This applies to the three year rule on spending.

I am sat watching LFC now, and there was footage of the memorial service. I have to admit, I was dealing with the service pretty well until Rafa was mentioned my Margaret for his support and his contributions, and I am not ashamed to say I shed a tear when I seen a proud man like Rafa cry. Not only for the 96 innocent LFC supporters that were treated like animals and left to die, but for a man who gets a lot of greif from so called supporters. This bloke genuinely loves LFC and it's fans and did a lot for the club, so next time people think about slating the man, just think again. Top man. Justice for the 96. They'll never walk alone.

Just been told that Pepe has decided to stay at Anfield next season, he is happy with the way the club is going under KK.

Ok, enough of Pepe leaving staying etc, if he does not want to be there well bye bye Pepe you were a great attribute to the club but you can be replaced. is this not the same scenario as Torres last year and look the club didn't go in to meltdown new players came in that wanted to PLAY for the club without MOANING and hey were playing a lot better,

Ross. {Ed001's Note - you haven't seen some of the disgusting things that have had to be deleted today, some people are sick in the head. But then I know that, being unfortunate enough to have parents that moved down south for work I had to face the abuse after the story in the S*n was printed. Coming back in from PE to find someone had written 'murderer' on my brand new Liverpool bag in indelible ink, getting spat on and constant abuse and snide comments. - - - - - - - - - - - -
Sorry to hear that Ed, I watched the game myself, and it was horrific, But it was an accident waiting to happen, due to the way grounds were set up. the Police were incompetent to say the least, and no one has ever been made accountable. Fans were screaming for help, but yet the Police just ignored them, and when the fans started pouring onto the pitch they all stood on the half way line, and didn't help, and left the fans to sort themselves out. And they want to bring back standing terraces. I would not want that for sure, as this should not happen to any football fan. Ross {Ed001's Note - I fully agree mate, the police used to treat us all like animals back then. If nothing else the 96 have brought us out of those dark days, we should never go back.}

{Ed002's Note - I think the owners will be looking to improve the squad without doubt, but they are simply not in a position to throw very large sums of money at buying players. I don't really know what a "significant buy" is as such, but there will undoubtedly be players coming in.}

Ed What do you mean by that they are not in a position to throw very large sums of money at buying players. Please can you elaborate.

Aji {Ed001's Note - it is simple - they are not one person who can just stick their hands in their pockets and throw some cash at it. So they can't be a sugar daddy in that way. There is the FFP ruling which makes it difficult to spend huge sums direct from the club's coffers. Then there is the added difficulty of funding a new stadium/upgrade to Anfield.}

I want 6 signings.
-Charlie Adam
-Leighton Baines
-Karim Benzema
-Adam Johnson
-James Milner
-Sylvain Marveaux

And here would be the breakdown of the squad by position.
Gk: Reina, Gulacsi

Rb: Johnson, Kelly*, Flanagan

Rcb: Kelly, Ayala, Carragher

Lcb: Agger, Wilson,

Lb: Baines, Aurelio, Robinson, Mavinga

Rm: Milner, Kuyt*, Gerrard*, Sterling

Cm: Lucas, Adam, Gerrard, Shelvey, Coady, Spearing, Suso, Milner*

Lm: Johnson, Marveaux, Gerrard*, Silva

Cf:Suarez, Pacheco, Gerrard*, Suso*, Benzema*

St: Benzema, Carrol, Kuyt, Suarez*, Morgan

* denotes a player who is not in his natural position. For example I have Gerrard all over the pitch because I don't really see him starting many game next year but rather coming off the bench every match.

Does this seem reasonable to every one?

Hoping Dalglish gets a knighthood for 2 reasons:
1) he deserves it
2) i think he could then do a bit of a Sir Alex and stay with liverpool for a good number of years, even though he's 59, he could manage till he's almost 70. . 10 years of Sir Kenny :)

Hey Ed's

Ive heard Liverpool are monitoring Joffre Gurron. Could be a load of rubbush to be fair as my source isn't the msot reliable, just wondering if anyone has heard anything on this?

Adzii {Ed001's Note - is he the one that moves like a rocket? Nicknamed Dynamite or something similar? I have heard the name mentioned, though it's spelt Guerron isn't it? Or am I thinking of someone completely different? Only the lad I am thinking of is Ecuadorian, but I have not heard him linked with us sorry.}

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Yes that's the fella, sorry about the spelling! i never heard of him before today to be honest! Aparently he's one of the fastest players on the planet! Still reasonably young, i think hes 25 plays for Cruzeiro, winger. Youtube'd him before, looks pretty decent to be fair.

Sorry mate but Ive been told hes nailed on to join. Doesnt it seem fishy Wickham signing 2 contracts in 3 months? Ipswich are just looking for more money. {Ed001's Note - nothing fishy about it, it is a new broom that is changing things, Wickham was out of favour under Keane, he is very much first choice for Jewell.}

The new contract just has an added bonus in it for them. Trust me, Wickham and Benzema will be signing. Just like Macca said, Kenny wants 4 top strikers, and that we will get.

I Also Heard Liverpool Are Only Expecting The Best:

Centre Back - Sakho - £10m

Left Back - Coentrao - £20m

Right Wing - Sanchez - £30m + Insua

Midfield - Hamsik - £20m

Forward - Lavezzi - £17m

Striker - Cavani - £20m

Liverpool Should Go For Cavani To Play With Suarez And Suarez Could Persuade A Move For Cavani.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I dnt believe that napoli will sell their top prize assets like cavani, lavezzi and hamsik to us especially when they are in for champions league next season . .
Plus why would they come to us if we dnt have champions league. .

The Justice Bell:-

A schoolboy holds a leather ball
in a photograph on a bedroom wall
the bed is made, the curtains drawn
as silence greets the break of dawn.

The dusk gives way to morning light
revealing shades of red and white,
which hang from posters locked in time
of the Liverpool team of 89.

Upon a pale white quilted sheet
a football kit is folded neat
with a yellow scarf, trimmed with red
and some football boots beside the bed.

In hope, the room awakes each day
to see the boy who used to play
but once again it wakes alone
for this young boy s not coming home.

Outside, the springtime fills the air
the smell of life is everywhere
viola s bloom and tulips grow
while daffodils dance heel to toe.

These should have been such special times
for a boy who d now be in his prime
but spring forever turned to grey
in the Yorkshire sun, one April day.

The clock was locked on 3.06
as sun shone down upon the pitch
lighting up faces etched in pain
as death descended on Leppings Lane.

Between the bars an arm is raised
amidst a human tidal wave
a young hand yearning to be saved
grows weak inside this deathly cage.

A boy not barely in his teens
is lost amongst the dying screams
a body too frail to fight for breath
is drowned below a sea of death

His outstretched arm then disappears
to signal thirteen years of tears
as 96 souls of those who fell
await the toll of the justice bell.

Ever since that disastrous day
a vision often comes my way
I reach and grab his outstretched arm
then pull him up away from harm.

We both embrace with tear-filled eyes
I then awake to realise
it s the same old dream I have each week
as I quietly cry myself to sleep.

On April the 15th every year
when all is calm and skies are clear
beneath a glowing Yorkshire moon
a lone Scots piper plays a tune.

The tune rings out the justice cause
then blows due west across the moors
it passes by the eternal flame
then engulfs a young boys picture frame.

His room is as it was that day
for thirteen years it s stayed that way
untouched and frozen forever in time
since that tragic day in 89.

And as it plays its haunting sound
tears are heard from miles around
they re tears from families of those who fell
awaiting the toll of the justice bell.

. . . . . . . . . .

Our Hearts and Prayers go out to the Families of the 96.

Gk

we need another keeper if reina goes or not.

lloris, neuer

if he stays i still think we need a decent understudy

cb

Cahill
sakho
richards

lb

coentrao (can attack and take on players but he can also tackle, a must buy)

wings

dzsudzsak (great crosser, goes past players with ease, skillfull)
turan (runs at players, very skillfull)

striker

hulk (big strong player)
but i think we need a youngster ideally as back up to carrol and suarez so the likes of wickham, lukaku would be ideal.

There are lot of good players coming through from the academy. so we have good depth in most areas

If you think Sakho has what it takes, then so does Mavinga. They are both very similar players! Fast, strong, good in the air, good going forward, and can play centre back or left back. Mavinga may be playing in the Belgium League in contrast to Sakho in the french league, however Mavinga is two years younger. The two actualluy know each other apparently as both graduated through the PSG Accademy around the same time. Mavinga prefers the left back role, whereas Sakho is more comfortable in the centre. Could be a good pairing for the left side of defence for the future imo.
2 years time:

J.Flanagan- - Kelly- - - Sakho- - -Mavinga

However next season should be

Kelly- - Carragher- - -Sakho- - Enrique

I like Robinson too so perhaps he can challenge for the left back spot with Mavinga. Two young players developing and battling for the same position at the same time would be extremely beneficial to them both. Same goes for Wilson who will undoubtedly challenge Sakho for the other Centre back position. Competition will be vital in a few years time.

Why do we need enrique when we bought Chris mavinga a few seasons ago cos he is under 20 and is on loan to genk in Belgium and is apparently flourishing so why not give the lad a chance for next season ps he has bags of pace and is a tough tackler and very good going forward just what we need

reason i think is mate is that he has been playing in the belgium league and its not very competetive compared to the epl we need experienced players so the youngsters can learn from them and then come through same as flannagan, kelly and spearing has. i agree though enrique wouldn't have been my first choice would have rather had either baines or warnock.

If I may add my bit to the Michael Owen debate, I would say that we should not sign him. That is strictly from a football and economic perspective because I don't believe he would be worth the wages. If you look at our young Morgan (recently scored in his Ressies debut) I think we have a goal poacher that is actually a lot like Owen, but Morgan has the pace that Owen had before he got injured. I see no reason why Kenny shouldn't blood in Adam Morgan as that 4th striker for next
year. That being said, I think we need to be more sympathetic to a player who did so much for our club.

He left at the wrong time and I am sure he now realises it was mistake. Joining ManU was pretty much his only option because he wanted to come back home but us and City did not want him, and Everton could not
afford Owen's wages.

So no I don't hold a grudge, but I still would nit have him.

Right troops, I'm looking for something and try as I might I cannot find it. Does anyone know where I can get a replica 1978 European Cup Final Liverpool shirt, with a plain '7' on the back (no names back then) in XL (for my slim, sylph-like frame). Tried the club shop, e-bay and loads of other outlets.

I'm a bit surprised they aren't commonplace given that the goal he scored was really the start of the legend that is Dalglish

"Glov3z the Red {Ed002's Note - I don't know if Liverpool have shown any interest, but there is no reason why not.}"

Steve Kean revealed a few months back that both ourselves and Chelsea made enquiries about him in January. I would expect us to revisit this in the summer. He's young, English and can play centre half or defensive mid, so he very much fits the bill. Whether he would be available at the right price is another matter considering we are not short of young CB prospects.

It's a special breed to be a scouser, and a special breed to be a member of the LFC family. May Gos be with you all today.

Hello editors i have been lookin on this site for about 3 years and have come to the conclusion that now Kenny is in charge it's best to just wait for the surprises as nothing is being let slip anymore. However some sources of info remain legitimate, so the following you can deal with as you see fit, don't even post it if you don't want!
I was workin for a builder yesterday who went to school with and is a good mate of Kev Nolan! He went for a bevy with Nolan this week And Carroll rang and said he'd meet up but is it ok if I bring a few of the lads like! ! He then turned up with Miereles, Pepe and Aurelio! Which i think is brilliant by the way! After a few pints said builder got speaking to Pepe and ended up asking him what hes gonna do next season and said he reckons he'll stay now coz of Kenny and the way things are goin! He could of just avoided the question if he had any doubt! {Ed007's Note - Why wouldn't we post it? It's not offensive or anything apart from saying a builder was actually working it's fine. Just kidding guys}

Hi ed, who do you think are the 3 most likely players that we will sign this summer? I'm only asking for your opinion based on what you have heard so far. also, do you believe that if we make 3 or 4 'strong' signings, we have a shot at winning the league or at least coming close? {Ed007's Note - Not an LFC man myself, but I have said before, 3,4 or 5 quality signings is all LFC need, not the major overhaul being touted. And Charlie Adam is NOT included in the 3,4 or 5 lol}

If the Reds follow up on apparent interest on Dzsudzsak, Payet, Sakho, Enrique and Benzema, that would make the first team (and squad) pretty formidable. Hopefully KK will concentrate on bringing Martinez to Anfield though; I think he's going to become one of the top midfielder's in the world over the next few years. There are certainly plenty of solid rumours relating to the lad and a move. Either that or test the water where Xabi Alonso is concerned; i'd love to see him back at Liverpool. Any thoughts on these notes ed?

Potential 1st 11 + subs (if 4-4-2)

Kelly Sakho Agger Enrique
Payet Gerrard Martinez Dzudzak
Carroll Suarez

Subs: Gulasci, Carra, Lucas, Marveaux, Johnson, Benzema, Aurelio

I think we need to look carefully at this situation I like many Liverpool fans were disgusted at the way he left but and I find the following difficult to say he may be a viable option for the following:

1. He did want to return after Madrid but a combination of things (1st team football, wages) ruled it out.
2. He'll be a free and with the way we are now running ourselves his wages will be assessed.
3. He wouldn't expect 1st team football.
4. He would be 4th choice I still think we will sign another striker. He has still shown over the past two years that he can turn a game.
5. KK is no fool, if he feels Owen can offer something then he will get the best out of him.
6. Another home grown player who understands (although not displayed very often) the passion of the club.

I know a lot of fans will disagree and I would prefer not to see him return but we need depth and there are few better naturally gifted strikers available for a free. Having said all of the above I still think him signing is a long shot.

Ed, what does the New York Times' and LeBron James' stakes in Liverpool mean for the club? I don't like the sound of bits and pieces of LFC being sold off. {Ed002's Note - The LeBron James % is very small and part of a deal involving his branding/marketing company - nothing more. The NY Times % is significant (greater than 10%) and will be a simple investment probably negotiated as part of the original purchase. There may be other small amounts already passed on to third parties as well. I don't think there is anything significant to read in to this at this time. It should have no impact on the club itself.}

What made Robbie Fowler special was that he was phenonamal in a team that wasn't particularly that good. If he had been playing for the Liverpool team of 5 years previously he would have been unbelievable. In addition, he didn't rely in the service from other players. If they weren't delivering he would go and do it himself.

I wpud raste him as probably the most complete striker I have ever seen in a Liverpool shirt since I started following them in the days of Roger Hunt.

Our starting XI needs about four players to be "complete" if you will. The players I would like to fill in these rolls would be: Gary Cahill, Jose Enrique, Yann M'Vila, Gervinho. Added to perhaps a further one or two smaller deals which would increase our squad depth.
Ed would you say this is realistic? And do you think with the addition of those four players into that starting XI, we could compete for a top four place? Cheers.

"I didn't mention anything about "names" and neither did SingRed mate - we are referring to "class" of player. I honestly believe there are higher quality targets out there who play the same positions as the forementioned players who aren't "big name" signings. I have never wanted silly "big name" spending at LFC. If Kenny and Comolli believe these are the best players we can get and are best for the team, of course I will support them. We were just giving our opinion on the quality of players we are linked with mate. We may be "wrong", time will tell, but I wouldn't call it "naive".

Sorry I just re-read my post and it was a bit harsh lol i only meant to give my opinion so calling yours wrong and naive was stupid i apologize :) in some ways I do agree with you that perhaps the players mentioned before are perhaps over-rated and they are definitely over-priced. However I do think they would be great additions to our squad as long as we didn't sign them for silly money.

I understand what your saying about another class of players, its just my point was that the class up from the players you mentioned would cost a significant amount more, hence why i referred to them as 'big' name signings.

I do see your point and think the discussions on these things are great and so apologise for my negative message earlier.

Morning Eds and all,

I watched PSV vs Benfica last night and must say Dzsudzsak had an excellent game, hope we do sign him as he is only 22.

Also apparently Kranc of spurs would prefer a move to us in the summer, over other interested clubs. I would have him as 26 Years old and prem experience. Always thought of him as a good player on the left and has a cracking shot on him.

Eds what did you think of Dzsudzsak last night?

I would like to add something to the best striker debate. i loved rush, i loved owen, i loved aldo. but for me it has to be mr robbie fowler. the man is a legend scored some of the best goals ive seen, when he had his blonde hair he was awesome the best striker ive seen, his finishing was amazin, left, right heads, even when they went off his backside he made it look good.

when he left for leeds i needed a helpline to get over it. torres, owen, is nothing compared to robbie.

I remember when i was about 12 i met him and ray houghton (think robbie was about 17-18), i could hardly speak, my dad did the talkin and i just stared at robbie. ill always remember that.

Why is everyone insistent on playing Johnson at right back in their dream teams ahead of kelly??! As Ed said, Johnson is a good utility player to have but Kelly has to be first choice after the season he has had.

= = = = = = = = = = = =
I can give you 17 million reasons. Johnson has played well under KK and also out of position but I agree Kelly has been very impressive at RB. Depends on where they see Kelly in the future. If they see him ultimately in the CB role then you have to keep Johnson and hope Flanagan keep improving and can cover that spot.

Just compare Chelsea's archive history of rumors and banters to ours, we are miles ahead on this category too. Chelsea thinks they are "making" history, eh?

Whoever suggested that we should try and put a bid of combined 43 mil for both James Milner and Adam Johnson. I think it's a pretty good idea. Adam Johnson is not happy for lack of first team opportunities. He'd likely to move on if things don't go to well. And as for Milner, I had the same idea of putting a bid for him when I saw him upset at Anfield after being subbed. He is young, was one of the best players of last season, can cover both CM, wings as well as full back positions. He is quite versatile. Though I don't think a combined bid would work. We should try to get only one of them. A cheeky bid of 15-18 mil for Milner would be nice.

"Knockturnal"

Probable my favourite word I've seen ever posted on this website. Ed, whats your favourite?

Chi-Paul {Ed001's Note - no idea mate, so many spellings have left me amazed over the years.}

What I love most is the capital K at the beginning.

The concept of Owen returning is surely just a wind-up? The greedy little mercenary has not only proven his contempt for LFC several times over but is simply a no-no on the grounds of being past it, injury-prone and a turncoat.
Enough said.

On more important matters, I know each transfer-window is exciting and sites like this allow the computer-manager generation to quote their own fantasy teams as models of what we should be buying. . . .but, seriously??
The likes of Hazard, Aguero, Lukaku etc. are purely fantasy because they probably want Champions League footy and the rewards that they and their agents can cream out of rich Clubs.
Personally, if we do try to enter into bidding-wars for these types of players we won't stand a chance (thankfully). . . .let's just stick to trying to build a long-term squad of loyal and quality servants who can compete with the best and beat the West Broms and Stokes without breaking into a sweat.
The performance against Citeh the other night was refreshing and bodes well for the future. . . I've changed my mind about Lucas and the Suarez/ Carroll partnership could be Keegan/ Toshack.
Flannagan was sublime and even Skirtel looked good.
In the background we have Coady, Suso, Thomas, Morgan, Wisdom and Sterling. Robinson will be ready to step up to LB sooner rather than later and Silva, Pacheco and a few others will be pushing for places.
The future's bright. .the future's red! . . .but what we need is to strengthen in the areas we know about. . . CB, LB, RB (?), RW, LW, DM and back-up Striker. If Reina goes we'll need to get a keeper who can organize the defence (not Given).
With the money we get from offloading the deadwood we shouldn't have to spend excessively.
Cahill, Adam, Wickham, A.Johnson, S.Downing and Micah Richards for £1.75m and sell Cole, Jovanovic, Maxi, Konchesky, Poulsen, N'Gog and Spearing for £250m. . .build a stadium. . .job done!
What the hick. . .let's just leave it to KK and Commoli and see what happens!

In 10 years time i want to hear Kenny say:

"I've been here for some bad times too, one year we only won 2 trophies"

And i want to hear Gerrard and Carragher say:

"All those years of waiting for a PL title were worth it. Its just more special to win it with liverpool than to win it a thousand times with anyone else"

And Henry to say:

"All the time, money and hard work was worth it; we have put Liverpool back where they belong, In a firm position above every other football team in England, Europe and the World"

Liverpool FC, Built by Shanks, broke by the Texas yanks, revived by Kenny Henry!

Ed, do you think we could/ should cash in on Glen Johnson this summer? Looks like we have 2 quality young right backs, and he probably won't play on the wing because that would cost him his England place possibly {Ed001's Note - he was happy to play left back, which could just as easily have cost him his England place. I would keep him, he can play left back, right back and (probably) right wing, a player like that is very valuable with a limited squad size.}

I've kept away from here for a bit due to the stupidity of many of the other supporters and the constant love/ hate of a minority of fans who don't seem to know how to get behind the club.

Two points, KK is King, long live the King. No other managers need apply, the job is his. Also, we will sign whoever we need to sign. . there has been a bit of talk about big name signings. This is Liverpool, we don't do many big name signings, we just make them big names.

I look forward to a ridiculously successful future, from the bleak start, we've come a long way baby!
