Should kenny stay or go. 14 wins 14 losses 8th place but won carling cup & fa cup final.

I think he should step down we luv him and remember him for what he's done lets not damage that.

Who should replace him ?

Would you have rafa back ? {Ed022's Note - Hell no.}

I agree ed! Hell no. Couldn't have put it any better myself. Rafa.....HA!!

14 May 2012 23:21:04
With dalglish flying or not at the usa
when is it likely we hear something regarding his future. seeing as they are 5 or more hours behind us would it be likely we be hearing about things in the morning uk time {Ed022's Note - It wont be for a few days I suspect.}

He is due to go on holiday on Wednesday so you will here either way soon.

14 May 2012 23:02:53
Not a rumour just wondering eds why do people complain about aqua coming back he started constantly for juve and 22 times for Milan. I couldn't see Adam spearing shelvey or Henderson doing that. Plus I remember seeing an interview with him while he was at juve stating he was suprised to b loaned out as he was looking forward to a season with Liverpool {Ed022's Note - You may want to find out how many games Henderson started this season mate... and then on top of that get to grips with the fact Aquilani is a lazy fool with extreme attitude problems and the temperament of that of a 6 year old girl wishing for a new doll-house but being stuck with action men instead.}

14 May 2012 22:58:32
Why does everyone want Rafa back?

only ever had one good striker and never gave him a partner...

Very defensive playing style...

Never incorporated youth players...

Sold our best players and failed to replace them...

Voronin, Babel, Kyrgiakos, Degen, Aquilani, Morientes, Biscan, Zenden, Gonzalez, Pennant, Itandje, Leto... These are just some of his failures.

We would be taking a major step backwards.

No to Rafa. Fully agree, would be a major step back if he was manager again.

I can guarantee that FSG would also not be interseted. Rafa has had a bad relationship with owners of all the last three clubs he has been with, Valencia, Liverpool and Inter. FSG will be too much for Rafa and there is no way they will give him full control which is what Rafa wants.

Forget about Benitez, he is history.

Logan

Rafa lost the plot when he grew his goatee beard.
if he shaves it off, and if kenny decides to leave, then, AND ONLY THEN, can he return.
UNCLE ZAINY BEAR

Biscan wasnt a Benitez signing.Yes the rest are rubbish but Rafas mid to high end signings were top notch

Biscan was a houllier signing and proved his versatility and reliability on many occasions, it's a shame he never got the praise he deserved

When we pushed United all the way to the end during Rafa's second-last season, didn't we score the most goals in the EPL that season? I wouldn't say that's defensive... {Ed016's Note - We also had the best defence in the world. Everything was perfect}

Everything was perfect and yet we still threw away a large lead at the top due to Rafa's unnessassery need to play stupid mind games with Fergie. No Rafa had his chance and blew it with a very talented squad. He doesn't deserve another chance in my opinion.
KiwiRed

Biscan was versatile enough to play anywhere and relaible enough to be poor everytime.

AK {Ed016's Note - Don't knock Igor)

Rafa blew it in the away game against stoke , we needed a good forward as a sub think about what he did to kean (like him or not he did score goals) , when man u played stoke next they were drawing they had berba' as sub he came on and scored the winner , man u moved on from there , rafa had good points but he was very much his own man and did not always see the wood for the trees.

No disrespect to Rafa but I would never want him back. He did well as manager of this club, let's get that straight and there is no doubting his passion and love of the club. But he is an inherently divisive character who falls foul of the board at every club he has been at. There will only ever be one result in that kind of situation. I prefer a manager who shares the vision of the board and who unites the club and it's supporters.
Also, let's not re-write the past. Rafa signed Aquillani and Keane, two of his highest of high end signings who I would not describe as "top notch".

Xabi alonsi is wanted by juventus but has admitted a move to liverpool woukd be a dream again he misses his time. Come bsck xabi! And why the hell are real not extending his contract hes been pivotal for them

Can't defend

Cp

But he creates and thats kind of the point...

No need to defend in Spain {Ed016's Note - Yeah I mean no one seems to defend against Barca}

14 May 2012 22:58:16
I think luuk de jong is a perfect is a must buy.. im sick of players slipping through our fingers and ending up at teams pushing us down! hes a great talent and a eye for goal!

We are favourites to get him like

14 May 2012 22:56:06
Not posted for a while but wonder if the great and good among us could tell me more about Comolli's departure - heard that there was clearly some smoke about him leaving, question is what was the fire, any hints...

Cheers all let's hope for a better season next time out - and please if we do need a new manager, not Rafa, I'd rather have Paul Gascoigne!!

All the best,

Suffolk'n Red {Ed022's Note - There's not much we can really say mate.}

14 May 2012 22:44:13
firstly i want to say well done to man city for winning the premier league.
this is the end of man united i think.
but man city better watch out next season, as liverpool will dominate. i strongly believe this.
UNCLE ZAINY BEAR.

Bit deluded i think mate {Ed022's Note - Optimistic I'd prefer to say.}

Not deluded at all. the first season has been difficult for both team and kenny. but we have seen flashes of what this team can achieve. with a few key signings, and lucas returning, the squad will be very strong.
so, when we do well next season, u can all say that UNCLE ZAINY BEAR was right.
UNCLE ZAINY BEAR.

UNCLE ZAINY BEAR...thanks for making me smile...love the positivity hehe

No problem...hehee.

Eds whats the situation with Phillipe Coutinho? Type of player we need to link up with Suarez {Ed022's Note - Non-existant.}

Classic,funniest post of the season Ed's.... {Ed022's Note - Really? There have been a lot funnier.}

14 May 2012 22:12:28
Ive heard from an inside source we are in the driving seat for Emile Heskeys signature. what do u think hes big and strong, can hold the ball up and knows were the back of the net is. Would love to see the big man back at Anfeild tbh {Ed022's Note - This post cannot be serious.}

Please be joking

Why do u let such posts through ed? They could well end up giving me a heart attack.

What i would do if i was kenny;
say £50million +player sales.

IN
Gaston Ramirez (£16million)
Luuk De Jong (£14million)
Iker Muniain (£16million)
Gabriel Silva (£5million)

Total Spent - £51 million

OUT
Kuyt (£2million)
Spearing (£2million)
Maxi (£2million)
Cole (£3million)
Poulsen (£1million)
Aurelio (Free)
Sterling (LOAN)
Suso (LOAN)

Total In - £10million
Net Spend - £41million

Team Next Season to get top4;

--------------Reina-------------
Johnson--Skrtel--Agger--Enrique
-------------Lucas-------------
Muniain------Gerrard-----Ramirez
---------Suarez--De Jong-------

Subs; Doni, Kelly, Coates, Hendo, Aquilani, Downing, Carroll

Likes of Shelvey, and the subs to play majority of europa league games.

What do you think?

Jav.

I like it except Muniain will cost a hell of a lot more than 16m

I think you've got that spot on, Jav mate. Your post is probably the best realistic one i've seen so far.

Munain might cost more and i'd try to get rid of Aquilani and keep Spearing. And i'd be amazed if anyone paid 1 mill for Poulson. Apart from that mate, would love to see that line-up/squad, at the start of the season.

Fantastic post.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96 {Ed022's Note - Poulsen was sold last summer.}

I think you should stop playing championship manager.

Thanks for that Ed mate. I thought Poulson was on loan at Evian, with us paying most of his wages.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

You're about 30m short on the combined valuation of Ramirez and Muniain...great players though...

I'd go...

De Jong
Rhodes
Ramirez

no Muniain because he may be too expensive for us

Enrique has been awfull for the last half of the season. Costed us the fa cup.

Couple of questions to throw out there for Macca, Eds or whoever wants to answer.

There's been a lot of talk today about Diame coming (not sure where it came from) but how about Flamini from AC Milan instead? If I'm right he's available on a free. Or, if the cash is available, James Milner? He will play in a holding role or on the right, will run all day and can pick a pass. I'm willing to bet he wants to play more to get back into the England fold as well.

Next, on to strikers. We need at least 1 more just for rotation and my choice would be Muller from Bayern Munich, with the emergence of Kroos he isn't playing as much, and he's one of the best instinctive finishers I've seen.

YNWA, JFT 96

J {Ed022's Note - Very unlikely on all of them mate. Muller I'll look into.}

Muller would be great in the EPL...or any league for that matter...

i really hope the future of lfc can be mainly developed from youth development and a formation/system that is played from first team down. transfers will of course be vital but a nucleus of home grown or at least home schooled players would im sure benefit the club as it has for many years. kk has the best interests of the club in his heart and as supporters i hope we and the owners show patience. top of the pile in the epl or the champions league is a tough nut and at the moment lfc are a distance off. lets see who arrives and leaves this summer and in what direction the club as a whole move in.

Possible candidates, mentioned constantly on this page for the job. if Kenny gets the chop (which I hope he won't);
AVB - No chance. He's going to Roma and they'll sack him once they realise he's ginger (and crap).
Mourinho - No chance. He wouldn't come here and we shouldn't have any cause to welcome the Liz Taylor of football managers. Ok, so he does seem to win leagues. Gotta give him that. But not coming.
Rafa - Please no, we've been through the Rafa years once already, that's enough. Things did look good for a little while but he let us all down by succumbing to Ferguson's mind games, lost the plot and cost us the title. Plus the style of play became eventually very tedious if you remember.
Martinez - Very impressive escape act with Wigan, brought upon by the inability to win a point for months. Again. Hmmmm.
Rogers - No, you're alright thanks. Probably going to Spurs after Redknap gets knicked for selling counterfeit olympic tickets outside Hackney Central.
Klopp/Low/Biesla etc - Can't see the FSG bringing in a manager who'll no doubt want to spend money on bringing in players from their own league and start all over again with lots of new faces.

All of which is why I think, and hope, Kenny will be given the chance to get it right next season.

Square Red

We can find cons for every possible manager. Too inexperienced, too this, too that.

If we took that approach, we would never have hired Shankly, or anyone one else.

Unfortunately, "same again" is not an option.

14 May 2012 21:43:39
Too Ed; Witch posiston doo you think is most likeliy we buy inn players with out sell some one player before. {Ed022's Note - What?}

Let me rephrase ed, without having to sell first what position is most Likely to be filled in the forthcoming transfer window? I think that's what the poster is asking.

Square tomato {Ed022's Note - Have you ever considered being a translator mate? I can pay good dollar? Haha! Well if this is what the poster is asking, then I'd say Right Wing is most likely to be filled, but I suppose you could argue that's due to Kuyts departure.}

Fantastic. Lmao. Best post I have ever read and I have no idea what it means. Thats great. Thanks for making my day

Eric the red

Haha to de-cypher puzzles into sentences is a specialty ed.

All of you who want Benitez back must think twice. He has had his time, never has and never will win us the league. He had his chance in 08/09 and blew it. The season after that we got knocked out of the group stage of the CL, had a terrible run in the Cup's and finished 7th in the league. No thank you. He dug his grave when he got rid of Alonso and signed a injured Italian - Aquilani who never even wanted to play in Engalnd or for Liverpool. With the new Financial Fair Play rules kicking in we might just see more of the many flops he purchased in his six year spell at the club. Let go, Benitez is history.

If Kenny does go then we need to find someone new. Jose Mourinho would be the man to deliver the Holy Grail. Everywhere he goes he delivers trophies. He has the word winner written all over his face, even if he is a bad loser and blows Benitez's record and many of the other managers out there out of the water.

I still want Kenny to stay though.

Logan

Same could be said about daglish when he left liverpool then came back 20years later.

Yes but Dalglish is the last man to deliver the League and what is more, we could have had many more European Cups/CL if it wasn't for Heysel. We were the Kings of football in that era.

Kenny is our most succesfull manager since Shankly, Paisley and Fagan. Kenny knows what it takes to win the league not only as a player but also as a manager. No other manager since Kenny has won it so bringing Kenny back was a risk but a measured one and I will be backing Kenny to the hilt if FSG give him another season to get things back on track!

Mourinho only manages teams with great squads or have a lot of money...he doesn't have the guts to manage a team that's rebuilding or hasn't got the money to compete in the transfer market...

Kenny is not gonna win us the league either. Im praying he gets the sack, so we can have a competent manager.

14 May 2012 21:26:39
Surely on any level KD cannot remain manager
Poorest league position in years
Closer to the bottom than top
So few goals scored
Terrible terrible home form
LS affair
Poor signings
Not media savvy
The list goes on...but will he survive as there is no money available!?

Who said there was no money available?

Dirks Engine Room

Sounds like you're willing him to go...

How did you work out "closer to the bottom than the top?"

We finished 8th. That's 8th from top. 12 from bottom.
Not brilliant and I'm not defending it, but why post rubbish in order to emphasise a poor season?

Joe

I believe he means it by taking into account our points tally...i.e 37 points away from the top and only 27 points off the bottom.

RedSMITHY

LFC finished with 27 pts more than Wolves .... 37 less than Man City / Man U ... So on that basis, sorry to say, closer to the bottom mate.

14 May 2012 21:22:58
ed 022 just wondering but who would you like/ expect to join the club and what do you think the chances are? realistic targets obv thnx {Ed022's Note - I don't expect anyone to join the club. I know who I would like, but that's only as a fan and not from information.}

To ed022, who would you like to see as manager?

Joshlfc {Ed022's Note - If not Kenny, then I would personally like AVB, but that looks certain to be impossible. Perhaps a more realistic individual would be Bielsa.}

Ed, why do you avb so highly? {Ed022's Note - I've answered this so many times mate. It's because he is a tactical genius and actually has balls.}

14 May 2012 21:22:37
The two types of players we have been crying out for this season is a creative midfielder and a natural goalscorer. In my opinion two very realistic targets for us in the summer to fill these roles are Clint Dempsey and Klaas Jan Huntelaar. Huntelaar should have been bought earlier by us but after the season he has just had for Schalke, 29 league goals in 32 league games, he should be a definite buy. As for Dempsey he has proved himself this season and deserves a shot at a bigger club. He is a great dribbler and has excellent vision and provides chances for team mates in the final third in and around the area. With 17 goals and 6 assists this season he would be a great addition to the Liverpool attack.

I think Dempsey would cost around £13m and Huntelaar would be around £17m, both of which are very good prices for the quality of player that we would get.

Do you agree?

Any feedback is appreciated.

Cheers

Two very good shouts

No , dempsey is more a player coming from midfield who ends up on the end of things , good player none the less, id rather dembele , diego or ericksen or kagawa would be the creative spark needed and huntelaar would be a very good option in my opinion, hes a top finisher
5gold stars

Add a couple of wingers and maybe we might be getting somewhere

Dempsey for £13m wouldn't be a good deal, we need some pace in the midfield and while I'd like to see Dempsey at the club I wouldn't want it to be at the expense of signing a creative, pacey winger

Red Ollie

Dempsey.
Never was, never is, and never will be Liverpool quality.
The Real KB

Agree mate I mentioned Klass Jan Huntelaar too. He's exactly the type of player we needed last transfer window.
Skurks

Red Ollie,
100% correct mate. Dempsey adds nothing in particular to what we have already. Too old and too expensive, for what he is.
He's an Everton player. Scrapper, get's on the end of stuff.
I'm looking for spark players this Summer at Liverpool, pace, energy, that will provide that something different. I will be gutted if we get Dempsey.
The Real KB

If Dempsey is not a Liverpool player then what the hell is Downing then and Adam too Dempsey is far better than both those players.

If dempseys a scrapper, someone who gets on the end of stuff, that sounds like exactly tha type of player we need! Dennis 89

Dempsey is better than downing, Henderson, maxi, Kuyt, Bellamy, shelvey, Adam, spearing, and Carroll right now. Had a much better year than gerrard and is honestly a better option now in their careers. The only players not on defense he is of obvious llesser quality than is Suarez and Lucas , that's it rant over. YNWA

Ed, what is your view on Hazard? A money grabber or what? Looks like it'll be City {Ed022's Note - www.player-profiles.co.uk - It's all there for you.}

If Dalglish goes would LUCIEN FAVRE be a realistic choice for new manager? {Ed022's Note - No idea.}

Hi eds ! Great site as usual ! Anyway someone posted a pic of kenny in Boston , as u know I'm not a kenny fan as a manager . But he looks tired and fed up ! But still posed for a pic with a fan !! Manger .. No .. Best ambassador for our great club !! Yes ! Forget his record second time around but a true lfc great !!!

He always looks like that mate.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

Where's this pic

A trip from Liverpool to Boston would make you feel tired and fed up mate.
Imagine getting called into the bosses office and having to travel that far.

MIKEY

Just one more thing. I think it would be very harsh to make kenny travel all that way to sack him. If he was to be sacked I imagine John Henry would come over to do it and show a little bit of respect to his clubs greatest ever player.

Just a thought

MIKEY

Wheres this picture

Kenny looked like that in his 30's. I wouldn't read into it.

This is to all. We all adore kenny dalglish for what he has done for the club in his previous reign both as a manager and especially as a player. He picked us up last year when we were down an even this year he gave us a cup to enjoy too however I feel he is not the right man for the job as although he may get another year he will never get or have enough time due to his age etc to turn us into a force. Mayb been sentimental makes me wanna have him for another year but what will this truly achieve. I believe we should hand the reigns over to a well knowledged tactician to kick us in the right direction and to be more shrewd in the market. Kennys signings and line up has baffled and even frustrated the most die hard and loyal of supporters of him and the club. I believe he has got us on the right path and he should know himself that now is the time to hand the reigns over to a young manager eager to succeed and achieve and wants to make us world beaters once again. Like to know your thoughts all. Please post eds! Thank you for your hard work

My opinion anyone who disagrees to this knows nothing about football at all. Argue the point how in the hell is our worst league position in 16 years progress. We just about broke every bad record this season with dalglish in charge and his manners are a disgrace to the club. And as was said even if he is only a short term fix not the future of the club at his age.

14 May 2012 20:53:09
Hi all

I just want to say how clues some of our fan really are!

All you people giving all this stick to Rafa make me sick, he was the only one to stand up for us when those yanks destroyed our beloved club. I seem to remember King Kenny (who loves our club so much) never came out to say s**t about how the owners were killing our great club, Kenny was a great player/manager but football has moved on so much it's crazy. I feel we need to cut our losses & move on, we need a top manager to get us back to the top of the league.

Sorry for the rant!

Lfc_1

So you would forgive Rafa for one poor season, but not Kenny? Why?

Yes I would because that poor season wasn't totally rafa's fault, I just can't bring myself to forgive kenny for wasting £80m on very poor players.

Lfc_1

Rafa hadn't won a thing for 4 years! And Kenny did have a few things to say at the time about Hicks and Gillet but he didn't have a role at the club at the time to 'do' anything about it.

14 May 2012 20:52:45
does anyone rate kightly from wolves? im not really sure what to make of him tbh ? cheers. {Ed022's Note - Ed001 really likes him, but I myself prefer Jarvis.}

Watched them both a fair bit, and I wouldn't want either of them. Rome 77

I'm a Wolverhampton red. And neither are good enough for us. Both got talent, but that talent doesn't show consistently enough. What we need at the moment is consistency in our attacking areas. Goals and chance creation.

Tom in wolves

Both are Liverpool standard

14 May 2012 20:49:25
Ed if daglish were to leave would we still be look at de Jong or any other transfers we've been linked with {Ed022's Note - Yes. Kenny isn't the only person who looks at players for the club.}

14 May 2012 20:44:39
will everyone give it a rest with kennys leaving bull.
why would fsg sack him we're playin some oustanding football look at the arsenal game at home played "the english barca" completley off the park kk is staying put.
3 players needed only {Ed022's Note - Look at the league table.}

But we lost u clown

Hi ed, just been reading a scouting report about Gaston ramierez on bleacher report web site. Have to say 1 I didn't realise he was from Uruguay and 2 how good he sounds. Just wondered if you thought Coates and Suarez might have some influence on him joining and if you think he would improve the team? {Ed022's Note - I have player profiled Ramirez over on www.player-profiles.co.uk - have a look at that and then your questions will be answered.}

14 May 2012 20:32:43
Ed do we have any interest in J. Moutinho? classy player but unsure if they would want silly money for him.

Is his contract running down?

Also are we genuinely interested in kovec ( I think his name is). The young kid who other people are chasing.

Jonesred {Ed022's Note - Moutinho's contract is running down yes, rumour has it he will join Chelsea. Kovec? I have no idea.}

Would you say Moutinho would cost roughly 15 million?

If so I think we should try at least?

Jonesred {Ed022's Note - More.}

Porto want 30 million euros for him. So roughly 22-25 million pounds. Hope this helps.

Have it on good authority that Citeh are looking to bolster their central defence with the signing of Martin Skrtel, apparently Skrtel has some beef with a couple of the senior players and the management

You are a liar, stop it now

You do not have it on good authority whatsoever you plum!

I have heard the same thing too

I have it on good authority that you are a City fan...what are you doing here? shouldn't you be celebrating?

14 May 2012 20:31:31
just a thought...i think that FSG would promote kk to DOF with either benitez/pep(less likely)/AVB to management...they would want a young manager to take the club back to the top...pep and AVB are likely choices followed by martinez...

luuk de jong ramirez and a defender would be bought...along with some youngsters getting the chance to play...

Pep?? Do me a favour..Do you honestly think he'd be interested in taking us on?! There are challenges and there are challenges..!

14 May 2012 20:24:36
"IF" KD gets the bullet, would the transfer budget be different for a new manager?
Also, are we likely to get any news about stadium before start of next season?

Gav the Red {Ed022's Note - The stadium announcement could be at any time. And it would have no effect on the budget.}

14 May 2012 20:08:03
hey ed022 , do you think this is a realistic team for next year and could happen?

Reina
Johnson agger skrtel enrique

lucas

m. philips suarez susueata

de jong soldado

thanks, and if it isnt , what players do you think are un realistic

keep up the good work {Ed022's Note - I'd say this is a tad unrealistic, as getting Soldado, Susaeta, Phillips and De Jong because each player is dependent upon several things. It's a possible line up, but unlikely to get all 4.}

14 May 2012 20:07:41
hi eds just wondering on your opinion about ciaran clark surely would be a good signing for now and he will improve into a top quality player in my opinion whats yours? {Ed022's Note - None at all.}

Who would everyone buy as kuyts replacement?
I would choose KEVIN STROOTMAN.

ACHILLES.

Kuyt's a striker who can play wide, Strootman is a centre mid mate.

AG

Yeah because they play the same poistion rite?
AnfieldUSA

Pablo - Valencia

Luuk De Jong would be a good replacement for Kuyt, ACHILLES mate. He can play RW and Strikers just like Kuyt.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96 {Ed022's Note - I've profiled him if it helps.}

To replace Dirk Kuyt I think we need someone like Merkel Susaeta. Kevin Strootman is a good player but he's more of a Central Midfielder wheras Kuyt plays as a wideman. So I think Susaeta would be more suited. But both good players in my opinion.

No kuyt was a striker and liverpool developed him to play on the right whats saying liverpool wont develop him to another position and i picked him soely on his work rate not his position MATE!

ACHILLES.

HAHA Im getting slated by a yank, someone who thinks football is a game where u handle the ball and run to a giant tuning fork either end of the pitch lol no disrespect to are owners or youth player(s)

ACHILLES.

I use my mobile version of the site, Ed mate. And was meaning to ask you,:will the mobile version be updatedso we can read the player profiles? I know it could be too much work. That's why I didn't want to ask.

Thanks

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96 {Ed022's Note - I will see what I can do for you mate. If you have a question for me then honestly don't be scared to ask it. Also, feel free to post on the player profiles, it'll be good to have such a regular as yourself over there. Cheers.}

Haha I love how you plug your site ed022 mate! Its brilliant, but fair play to you for it. If you have the means then why not?
Keep up the good work mate.

I would like to ask the eds with the former d o f of barca txiki begiristain gets the Liverpool d o f job.And with Jose segura and rodolfo borrell already at the club.Do the eds think there's a chance if kenny doesn't do anything next season will pep guardiola come in as manager as there's a lot of old friends already at the club.MATTYLFC {Ed002's Note - Sorry but this whole "buddies at the club" thing is unlikely.}

hi again. i keep reading so called sayin bring bak rafa as he won cl in 1st season but if u r a lfc fan u wil remember that most of that squad was gerard houlliers(spelling) team with a few others so bring bak gh! oh and if we go that route then bring bak evens and souness, keegan etc and we wil eventually find our way bak 2 kk and u can all give urselves a kick up ur own baksides 4 even finkin of losing the king! fink about it!

Pal Rafa Benitez is ten times better manager than Kenny will ever be!

If you had a braincell you would be dangerous lol

If you wrote that in standard English, it would've been a very good post

Oh yeah and 2 years when we in the final again against Milan ! Whose team was it ? Your grandma

HI EDs great job like always, i am just wondering can you confirm when this meeting kenny is ment to have with the onwers? If you were to say right now do you think Kenny will be manager this time next week {Ed002's Note - I have no idea when the meeting is.}

Sky sports text page 240 the lfc site has that kenny has flew to america early today to meet the owners

And do you think Kenny will be our manager at the start of next season

The fact kenny flew there rather than the owners coming here, suggests he will stay.

Unless they are mean yanks asking Kenny to go there to be fired...that would be cold

14 May 2012 19:49:46
Hi eds and reds!
AC Milan has signed three CM: Riccardo Montolivo, Sulley Muntari and Bakaye Traore.They have released Gattuso and Van Bommel.Do you think they will sign Aquilani?
Esna

No way...they don't need him

14 May 2012 19:44:51
eds, weve seen people saying for ages now dalglish should be sacked etc but whatever happens do you think we should recruit within the team regarding the management and players (obv we also have to buy players to improve) just like the liverpool of old and barcelona both use the method and both successful {Ed002's Note - Are you saying you think one of the players should become manager? Spearing maybe?}

No but i am sayin that maybe we should start thinking about putting the likes of carra and stevie g through their coaching qualifications for the future and if kk was sacked (hopefully not) but what bout steve clarke as manager he is 1 of the best coaches around after all

ED it's could be shelvy too :) {Ed022's Note - Could be.}

From what I here they already are doing the coaching qualifications.

just been told that king kenny will defo get another season in charge but there will be another assistant coming in to work with Steve Clarke. this person will then take over from kenny at the end of the season . not sure who this will be but there was a inkling it will be André Villas-Boas ? kenny and André Villas-Boas are to research players together plus decide on targets for the summer 2012 and winter 2013. At the end of the season 2013 kenny will move in to DOF .

Great idea. That makes perfect sence to as the new manager and dof would work closely for a year and develop an understanding for each other before the new manager takes over but I have no idea of how a team really works as I am just a fan and pretend to know. Would be interesting to hear one of the eds opinions.

Eric the red {Ed022's Note - You don't want to know my opinion if you think this is a great idea mate.}

Sounds like a complete load of utter nonsense...At best...

Ed 0022 I would still like your opinion even if you disagree. I have no idea how a club works I just watch the football but I am a bit dim so if you could dumb it down for I would appreciate it

Eric the red {Ed022's Note - Well in my opinion, having a manager work under another manager creates nothing but rifts within the dressing room and almost a divide on 'who is better'. It's almost like point scoring between them, and does more damage than good in my view. I understand your point about understanding what players are needed etc, but that isn't covered by just the manager, the club has a delegation of people who cover transfers also.}

Thank you ed0022 I appreciate you taking the time to reply and I must say you've changed my view on the matter. I didn't think about the problems I was just thinking of the possible benefits. Once again thank you for your time.

Eric the red {Ed022's Note - No worries at all mate.}

@Ed022,

From what you know, and from what you think (being a L'pool fan), who will come in for these positions: striker, right winger & left winger?

Don't worry, I wont take your word as gospel, so no pressure.. haha.

Cheers,
Stone YNWA. {Ed022's Note - I will give my opinion as a fan as you say, but I'm not saying these will certainly happen at all. I personally think that Luuk De Jong is most likely for the Striker position, Matt Phillips most likely for the RW position and perhaps Susaeta for LW. But it depends on so many things. Phillips depends upon Blackpools promotion in my opinion and Susaeta depends on Angel Di Maria departing Madrid, so it's all very hypothetical.}

Hi Ed022, doesn't Susaeta play right wing, not left wing? Or is he capable of playing well on both wings?

Lee Wickham JFT96 YNWA {Ed022's Note - Both wings, but predominantly right, I do apologise mate.}

Sorry ed why does the susaeta deal have anything to do with di maria leaving real madrid? {Ed022's Note - Because Real Madrid would be very interested in Susaeta if Di Maria leaves.}

West ham's going up...Blackpool Don't stand a chance!

I really struggle to see why so many people seem to hate Kenny. He loves the club and will do whatever is right for the club, even if that does mean stepping down.

He has done so much for the club, I know that many users are either children or thick a pig s##t, but take the time to learn of Liverpool's history and the values we used to stand by. So disapointing to see that the new generation of supporters are so plastic. I'm not a preacher, but I really wish that the people that give Dalglish abuse either went on to support Man City, or tried to learn some bloody respect. Sitting in your armchair, like a vegetable without a job earns pretty much zero respect from anyone, and spouting abuse to compensate for your own sh#t life doesn't help anyone.

Good luck to Kenny in the States. If he gets the sack, then so be it. But he deserves respect from anyone who says they truly support liverpool.

Fowler99

It's mostly younger fans mate, Kenny is just some dude from the past... hence the abuse, they're not sensitive about who he is like older fans. I welcome a wide range of opinions as to how Kenny is doing 2nd time around but out & out rudeness is a slap in the the face of all connected with the club. My message to all those who post things like ' FFS, just go now, you haven't a clue!' ...it's worth remembering that when your time is up & you arrive at the heavenly Shankly Gates above, dear old Bill probably won't let you in.

dd

I genuinely cant believe that ANY supporter of this wonderful club could ever hate Kenny Dalglish, the man is an icon of decency and class. He has devoted most of his adult life to helping our club and is without doubt one of our greatest servants. He is also far and away the greatest footballer this club has ever seen.

The morons who come on here and slag Kenny off are generally NON SUPPORTERS and just try to wind us all up.

Hatred is an extremely strong word and doesnt belong in our club, no matter who the target is....and that also includes our very own Hicks and Gillette !!

'How can you tell it's mostly younger fans judging from anonymous comments on a rumour website?'

Text speak / Spelling / lack of knowledge regards footballing matters / Tantrums / Inability to control instant kneejerk comments after a loss / Pupil to pupil wind ups / Foreign players abilities based on Fifa12 rankings / ...need I go on? {Ed022's Note - And how is you don't know that I am not a younger fan? If this is the case, I am actually editing sites likes these, having a broader understanding of the ins and outs of clubs across Europe as well as answering people like you with their endless waves of questions. Just a hypothetical thought, of course.}

Of course Ed022 I don't know if you're a younger fan. I don't consider to myself to be old either... My reply was meant as a light hearted(ish) response ... Of course the question still remains as to what type of fan is spewing the hate toward KD? Furthermore (just for the record) I've never asked a question of the Ed's, not that I don't appreciate the valuable insights you all have which Is why we all return here day after day. Apologies to young fans (& editors) everywhere for any offence caused.

I'll be happy enough for Dalglish to stay as long as we sign some decent players. Personally I really don't think anything will happen on the managerial front.

Hi eds. Have you ever thought about just posting your rumours or snippets of info when you get it rather than replying to the majority of posts with the same answer?

I would bring pacheco back i thought he was a really intelligent footballer him and suarez might be able forge some kind of partnership n creativity cause after a while if no-one is brought in whos on the same wave length as suarez he will be off!

Agree i think he would be a like for like replacement for maxi, in style of play and physically

Something definitely happened behind the scenes regarding Pacheco...considering players like Konchesky, Poulsen played and young players like Spearing have been given chances and yet he didn't get a fair run speaks volumes... {Ed016's Note - yeah his attitude was poor so he didn't progress, mystery solved)

14 May 2012 19:02:14
Until this season we hadn't won a trophy for 6 years and 4 of those years was when Rafa was still there.

Col

@Col, Rafa is just as big of a legend as Kenny!

I don't believe ive just read that, obviously your about 15, Rafa isn't fit enough to lace Kenny's boot, so he won a champions league with a team he inherited. With the team Kenny built he would have won it too if we were allowed in it at the time. Remember with kenny as manager we could have done the double 3 times in 4 years if we had a bit of luck, i.e. Losing a cup final we totally dominated to Wimbledon, and losing the league in the last second to a Michael Thomas goal. We dominated more than any other team had ever done, and that was down to Mr Dalglish.

Sooty

Are you serious? Are you actually trying to say that kenny didn't inherit not only a fantastic team but also a fantastic set-up? Also don't forget that when Kenny was manager the first time he had Bob Paisley in the back ground giving him advice. Things started to go wrong for Kenny when Bob's health started to fail, left on his own he started to struggle.

Well said Sooty.

I have a few non LFC question out of interest....just how many eds are there? The last number I saw was 33! Do you all deal with all the sites? If so i take my hat off to you all....you have enough to do with this one alone. Keep up the good work. I am sure the summer will be busy with all the transfer speculation.

With Kenny caught between a rock and a hard place at the moment, the club suffering from it's worst league campaign in recent memory. i can see only one person that can get us out of this Mire we've dug ourselves into. Step forward David Platt LFC needs you.

This post must be a joke

Someone said the same earlier, and I had the same reply. The lad is quality. Carroll would love him on the wing. Very underrated player. Nick.

Hi Eds & Reds,

From my reliable source, inside info, i can confirm that we do not know if Kenny Daglish will stay or go, can also confirm we dont know who is gonna be next DOF and we can absolutely, nail on confirm that we do know who we are going to sign.

However, they can confirm soon as there is any info, my source assures me, that cleaning ladies dog's will be the first to know.

It has been confirmed that our new scout is a man by the name of Mr. Yuu Tube, he will monitor players all over the world.

Dalglish is out of his depth! Fair enough he was a good manager in the 80's and 90's but he's spent too much time out of the game (as seen with his pathetic tactics and signings). Get a fresh face into the club or bring back Benitez. He was never given the proper financial backing at the club so lets see what he can do now!

His teams play horrendous football dalglish plays good football and won us 1 cup more than benitez did in his last how many seasons ? you just look for quickfire success so mancity will welcome you warmly

Ok benitez's first season in charge he won us champions league.

kenny first season in charge 70mill spent round about and we hav a carling cup show for it.
dont diss benitez lol

achilles.

Dalglish is ok...but the gap from the top 4 is worrying!!

Yer that game against real madrid were we wiped the floor with them an then played man u off the park was horrendous!
against swansea wigan bolton ect this year was like watching brazil???
deano mcc

More keyboard warriors with no names ....doh !

But benitez did inherit a champions league side.
and its not like benitez never signed a bad player for us.
For his first season in charge kenny's shown us plenty of reason to be optimistic

x

When Benitez was in charge we were always ultra defensive against the smaller teams and we lost hopelessly against teams we should have beaten.

This season under Kenny, we just about gave every team a run for there money. Our attacking play is very much that of what it was when Roy Evans was our manager. PASS AND MOVE!! We have just have not had luck on our side,

I do not think we have ever seen a season like this where hitting the woodwork and dominating matches have either ended up in a draw or a loss. If we had converted half of the shots that hit the woodwork this season to go with the many penalties we have missed which has been more than any other team in the league then we would have easily made the top 4.

Kenny to stay, he is after all the only manager that knows how to win the league since Souness.

You make your own luck in football!city got lucky yesarday cause they were the best team in the league with the best players who never gave up cause they believed they were better than Man Utd!after the arsenal game are heads went down an we started feeling sorry for are selfs.its the managers job to lift them players an not let thier heads go down which is what happerned after the arsanel game.
deano mcc

14 May 2012 18:19:08
Dalglish was given his chance this year to challenge for a top 4 spot but failed to deliver. We just about managed to beat Cardiff to win the mickey mouse cup. Owners will try to move him upstairs or some other method of removal in order to not upset the fans. I do love Kenny and would not mind if he was given one more season, however this may be a risk the owners will not want to take. I would like to see Benitez come back, he loves the club and only left because of the previous owners. DCR

Be careful what you wish for. Everything happens for a reason and the reason for Benitez not being manager anymore of Liverpool Football Club is because he was not the answer. If Kenny does go then I am hoping for anyone but Benitez please!!

14 May 2012 18:18:49
The fact that FSG have not come to Anfield might tell us that Kenny is not in danger of being sacked. FSG would have come to Anfield if they were going to give Kenny his marching orders?

14 May 2012 17:59:29
Dagliesh won't be sacked, the owners wouldn't fly him to Boston to sack him, they would either come themselves or send someone to do it.

Maybe they're asking him to be D.o.F or take up another role

Hans

Or maybe be its just to discuss what is expected of him next season.also other things like transfers and such.
mrbrown

They just getting kenny away from his comfort zone

14 May 2012 17:52:12
Hi Ed's.

I know you also are unsure on whether Dalglish will go or not, but do you know if the Telegraph reports that he has flown to the US tonight are true.

Thanks
Burnsy {Ed002's Note - I don't. Sorry.}

Ok thanks. After I had asked, I had noticed you had just answered the same question, Sorry

Burnsy {Ed002's Note - No problem Burnsy.}

14 May 2012 17:50:29
we need to spend big in the summer. my hopeful signings are:
luuk de jong
rasmus elm
Isla and benadita from udinese
a good midfielder such as gourcuff, eriksen, danny, sigurdson or martinez

If it came to crazy money like in 30-40 millions id only go for MARTINEZ i think hes a class act or ander herrera.

ACHILLES.

14 May 2012 17:44:59
My dream targets :

1.N'Zonzi(4 million + Spearing)
2.Rasmus Elm (10 million)
3.A.Johnson(10 million)
4.Luuk De jong (13 million)

My dream sales :

1.Aurelio
2.Maxi
3.Aquilani
4.Cole
5.Adam
6.Kuyt

If we signed n'zonzi that would be a dream come true

14 May 2012 17:41:40
so edds lets get some business done

14 May 2012 17:40:00
I would like to ask some ridiculous questions that have already been asked, and answered;

1) Who do you think we will sign this season?

2) Will our good friends Mata, Aguero and Honda finally sign?

3) Is Suarez eligible to play in the Europa League?

4) Will the press conference that no-one else knows about apart from people on this site reveal some life changing news?

5) What are your opinions on a player that scored a half decent goal in the weekend?

I look forward to the Ed's (is Ed short for Edward btw?) replies, which will all be out of 10, naturally.

Rafa's Purple Goatie

1. I've got a feeling we're going for David Speedie and Jimmy Carter

2. I fully expect John, Ken and Keith to join our esteemed ranks. I saw them at Melwood earlier in a massive LFC hat

3. Suarez is not eligible. His teeth are deemed non-regulation size and therefore he is only eligible to play in the Intertoto Cup

4. All I know of the press conference is that it will be held in a hollow volcano in northern America. Although my inside-man has dropped hints that we are building 2 new stadiums to make up for all the lost revenue

5. I think he's amazing and worth at least £40m. Probably £50m. Someone tell Kenny

14 May 2012 17:36:45
Hi Ed's do you expect Gerrard to be used a lot next season, or do you expect him to be used only in big games to let Henderson/Shelvey flourish {Ed002's Note - Too early to say.}

I am not an ed

But do you really think Gerrard is going to polish the bench

And if Shelvey and Henderson are our main midfield players we won't even make 8th place next May.

So lets hope not!

Sommerset

We can't have our highest paid player warming the bench so a big decision needs to be made

What big Decision needs to made?

Gerrard will be the main midfield man as usual, there are none better, he just can't be exepected to carry all the dross around him like he used too, simples!

Sommerset

Here's some food for thought, if it were someone else other than Gerrard who had performed exactly like he had this season, would we still be talking bout him being a starting 11 player?

14 May 2012 17:33:29
hi eds with us needing to strengthen our team i think we should try to sign larsson from
sunderland a very much under rated player who would be a brilliant signing in creating chances and also scoring could proberly offer adam in the deal somewhere

I agree. I think he is totally underrated. I wish we had got him instead of Downing last summer to be honest. No great flair, but gets the job done. Nick.

14 May 2012 17:31:42
i dont no y we r ppl are wanting adam johnson hes like downing only got a left foot an defenders know that find it easy 2 defend against i wudnt mind bt an 80k plus on wages i personaly xpect a player that can at least pass with there weaker foot. unless there stronger foot is amazin like rvp.

14 May 2012 17:26:37
Hello Ed002,
when will we know if KK stays or leaves and if he goes who will replace him? {Ed002's Note - We really don't know.}

14 May 2012 17:18:01
Hi Eds, do you think the youngsters in the reserves may be brought into the first team more next season? If so, which ones do you think it is likely to be? I don't expect Suso and Sterling as much due to their age, maybe Adorjan or Eccelston? Or is it likely that they'll be loaned out? {Ed002's Note - I would expect the likes of Flanagan and Robinson to see more chances. Eccleston may have already burned his bridges with the club.}

Is ecclestone going over saying something on twitter about the illminati causing 911? or is it down to an attitude problem or that he hasnt developed enough at his time at anfield ?

I think you guys are forgetting that ngoo is a better carroll. on the ball at least

14 May 2012 17:17:34
this hole business with sacking kk or not is ridculous it was only 18months ago we were proberly looking at a relegation battle so like him or not he has done a brilliant job gettin us to just 8th what with stevie g bein absent most the campaign, carroll misfiring til recently, the suarez saga etc so to win a cup and finish 8th werent bad not brilliant as we all hoped but atleast give him another year as liverpools fans we owe him that much for everything he has done for us

Dalglish cares 100% about the club. i dont think he should go for his loyalty and devotion to the club. when he knew he was under pressure he still played younger players like hendo and shelvey. he even gave coates and sterling some appearences plus introducing martin kelly and giving flanno and robinson a go. trust me iin a few years time we will be thankin dalglish for his selflessness and devotion to our club. if some of the people on this site managed spurs then we will never have seen the emergence of gareth bale. sorry about the rant
derryred

I agree with you DerryRed, but I wish you hadn't used the example of that Gareth Bale girly diving cheat. Just sayin' Nick.

Nick, that was derryred, not Derry Red !
I need to change my sign off as some fella from Derry beat me to it.
Derry Red. (hard at thought now ???) {Ed022's Note - How about... Red Derry?}

Ed022, you are a genius, I wouldn't have been able to sleep tonight !
Red Derry ( formerly known as Derry Red but some fella called derryred beat me to it, or is that too long ?) {Ed022's Note - Stick with Red Derry on it's own mate haha!}

14 May 2012 17:15:47
what is gone is part of history now ..we cant change it n better we look ahead .
try to prepare for next seasons , so here we go

1st of all we need to get the team n tactics right , as i think our team may not be a world beater but good enough to be in top 5.

it was down to KD and co. with all wrong selections , and inconsistent starting 11, wrong tactics that has let us down

1. DEFENSE =

over the history if u look back , a winning team may or may not be a great attacker , but they all have had a strong solid back 5. the 1st step to built a good team is to built a solid defense . we leaked goals through out the season. even in rafa's time , we have had same problems in front no wingers, no forwards alone striker BUT WE WERE A HELL OF A TEAM TO SCORE AGAINST.

2. MIDFIELD =

A team wins or not a lot depends on only goal sheets these days, but still overall performance of teams depends on the middle core of your team . a team playing spearing-henderson-jonjo-adam in the middle should never ever dream to be in top 4 or anywhere near . from having the best midfield trio (SG-alonso-mashchranho) to the one of worst ..is the reason we r falling .

3. ATTACK =

through out the season , CARROLL-SUAREZ-GERRARD( coz gerrard is till our one of main goal threat ) never came into the rhythm, thanks TO KENNY. yup there were suspensions,injures but still its that for ur there as a manager to work it out, instead all he did was change chop, our forwards never formed a attacking unit. there was no understanding, kenny not sure whether to play andy or not, he still isnt, SG playing too deep, all this and that...its been a year and half n still hasn't been sorted .

4. SIGNINGS =

IN last 3 yrs we lost torres+alonso+masherahno+meireles+bebal etc these were the starting 11 players , first team regulars , and who we bought to replace them WITH DUE RESPECT TO OUR FUTURISTIC POLICY, shelvy,henderson,carroll and bunch of kidds . i mean how can u plan for future without doing the present right.

all three eg. i showed have been labeled as failures. but aren't they treated badly . i mean i know they are not messi or ronaldo but how can u ask henderson to fill in shoes of SG , carroll to replace torres at this stage of their carriers? we should have gone for other options , last season falcao,turan many big talents were up for grabs but we didn't . this time we need to break the bank , a top striker,n play-maker are must.

mayurr.

Stop talking nonsense

LiverBird

Agree with you mayurr

Leaked goals? What utter nonsense. We have had one of the meanest defences in the Premier League for years. It's gettibng forward players into the biox is where the problem lies. RED LENIN

Yeah you already lable hendo and shelvey as failures when they are both still u-21's. carroll is a target man and players of that position dont hit their prime until 25-26. you listed babel as a first team player and you listed the players who werent available/ left the club yet slag off the teams position i can go on all night

Did you mean defence? I know we're owned by Yanks but really...
ND

"Yeah you already lable hendo and shelvey as failures when they are both still u-21's."

i didn't its all over there that hendo or carroll didnt had a good season, if u read correctly im against it, that is what im saying at this time of there carriers its impossible for them to fill or replace likes of torres or SG.

AND you can go all night mate , coz thats what u want to do,

did you understood the meaning of what i was wanted to say? i said , the players which left our club be it what ever reasons like for torres ,mash wanted to leave, rafa's stupidity led to alonsos departure, meireles sold, aqualani loned let it be anyway. DID WE REPLACED THESE PLAYERS WITH PROPER OPTIONS? no we didn't instead we bought few very talented youngsters and threw them in the battle lines . which we said we were buying for future. wow great

"" Leaked goals? What utter nonsense. We have had one of the meanest defences in the Premier League for years. It's gettibng forward players into the biox is where the problem lies."

the last 10 matches we played we conceded 14 goals...to the relegation fighting teams . 6 games out of which we lost.

Telegraph are reporting KK has flown to Boston to meet Henry and Werner regarding his future...
However, loads of posts on here reckon Kenny is playing a memorial match?
Just wondering if the ed's could shed some light?

Not worried about the team really at the moment I am more worried about how far behind we are with our stadium plans ! It seems that not much is going to happen in the near future. Apart from the two top teams we aren't really that far away from 3rd and 4th if we can start scoring goals... Arsenal without V-P would never have got third... I am sure that Henry has a plan up his sleeve like every savvy businessmen I just hope that he can step up the world domination plan before teams like Man Sxitty start poaching all the new global fanbase, after yesterday the EPL is definitely the best sporting product in the world and we need to be in it to win it...T-wan

My opinion based on all the rumours:

1. Kenny will meet with owners and deliberate his plan to get us back to top 4. If they agree, he will be kept on til December, knowing that his performance will be reviewed again. The owners realize that Kenny has long history with the club, including his involvement in tragedies, etc and therefore know it is a more delicate matter than simply sacking him for a bad season.
2. New players to sign: Luuk De Jong (too much consistency in rumours to ignore this one), Hoilett (if he doesn't go to Spurs), Ramirez.
3. Players to leave: Maxi, Aquilani, Cole.
4. Kuyt will stay for another year, as will Carragher.
5. Spearing will be loaned out with Shelvey.
6. Downing will be for sale, but only sold if good offer comes in. Hoilett is not his replacement, and another winger will be signed if this takes place.
7. Adam and Carroll will stay.

These are simply my opinion, based on existing rumours and my interpretation of how real they are. Perhaps I will be wrong on all accounts. Time will tell.

Mate kenny is a joke who cares what he did in the past look what he has done this season F all.

You absolute beaut shocking!yeh Kenny mightn't be the right man for us but show some respect,this is what I am dreading people who really dont know what Kenny Dalglish is to this club,Player,Manager and Person Foff with ya statements we don't want supporters like you

Inside info******

KK has spoken with the owners and asked to explain his purchases from last summer.
The owners are going to give KK more time, however if things do not improve before Jan 13 then he will be replaced.
The owners have said if the newest players do not improve then they will be shipped out next summer. The owners have told KK they want a young squad, which could mean the end for Maxi, Kuyt, Aurelio. Any new players bought in will be young and cheap(ish) - must have a resale value.

Im sure I'll get criticised a bit for this, but here goes...

We've been unlucky this season. A few poor performances against sides we should beat comfortably, but for the most part we've played attractive, attacking football whilst maintaining a tight defence.

Scoring goals has been our problem. Hit the woodwork over 30 times, missed 6 penalties and squandered good chances all season.

Carroll is just finding form and the partnership with Suarez is looking exciting.
Suarez was suspended for 9 games, and Lucas and Gerrard injured for long spells.

Taking these facts into account, it hasn't been the desperately dismal season many "fans" seem to suggest (and yes, I've been to most games this season).

And it won't need an overhaul of the squad during the summer, simply one or two additions.

But one thing's for sure, I hope we keep THE KING!

Joe

I am glad some people watch the game. Everyone acts like kenny is the worst manager of all time and we have dominated maybe all but 8 or so games this year we just could not get the result.

Well said Joe
KJS

Just another stat to throw in there, we've also had around 60 more corners than the next team.

It's just been a weird season and it feels like we've been jinxed. I think things could so easily have been very different this season and hopefully next season they will be.

WITH Kenny in charge!

Agree all we need is a striker and some much needed luck...

I agree mostly with what you said but players (both old and new) need to take some collective responsibility for their own performances. You can go through all the players and ask "did they perform to their full potential?" ...in most cases the answer is "no" so in my eyes everyone needs to up their game...

Richards

Can someone show me where the columns are in the Premiership table that award points for hitting the post/bar - winning corners, superb passing or compensation for bad luck - seems a lot or people are missing the point(s)

How come everyone be-littles players like Jarvis, Fletcher and co. Because they got relegated from the EPL, then screams for us to raid Villerael.. im sure whoever we sign will be great in the lobg run, and trust whoever FSG trust with their money, to spend it properly. Just think hypocricy is annoying. I'd take players like Jarvis, Rhodes, Diame, Moses and M.G.Pederson any day. They are better than what we have now..
Can i just ask, who was a better signing?
Downing - Aston Villa - £20m
Larrson - Birmingham - free

Without Doubt Downing

Signing jarvis, fletcher, rhodes, gamst and moses will strike fear into the hearts of everyone else won't they. teams will dread coming to anfield now

14 May 2012 16:42:57
Everyone knows it's nigh on impossible to get accurate rumours out of LFC these days (which is a good thing in my mind). Therefore these are what i have been told by someone claiming to be in the know - feel free to agree or slaughter, but they seem to make some sense to me!

KD to remain and see out his contract
Downing is the signing that FSG are most disappointed with, since he should be in his prime, but is clearly not of the mental strength to play for LFC - he will be sold as he is still valued by many EPL clubs.
There is a willingness to put in a serious bid for Lewandowski as he seems like the poacher that is needed. Looked superb in the German cup final against Bayern Munich.
If Lewandowski is a no go, then Luuk De Jong is definitely top target.
Initial discussions with Valencia meant that any desire to bid for Soldado are now dead in the water.
With Downing on his way, then both Left and Right wingers will be looked at - no idea who these might be..!
A creative midfielder is also on the radar. Gerrard will play in the anchor role alongside Lucas away from home, but will be released to a more free role when playing at home. No other defensive midfielder will therefore be brought in.

If lucas gets injured a disteinct possibility wouldn't you say after such a long layoff then we have no DM cover again and no doubt we'll be punished by teams for this folly. {Ed002's Note - Looking on the bright side then?}

14 May 2012 15:56:33
all this talk about how much cash we have i dont care as long as we sign 4 players b4 we sell or lone anyone Newcastle didnt spend lots and they do well same with Everton at the very least we need a new striker,winger,cm,and cover for left back when we sell kuyt and maxi we should look at another player as well one player i really like is Sebastian Larsson do the eds no if anyone is looking at him thanks

14 May 2012 15:54:37
Right, here goes.

Sell/shed these players:

Spearing
Maxi
Kuyt
Aurelio
Cole
Aquilani
Adam

Buy these:

Striker
Right winger
Defensive midfielder
Attacking midfielder

Ciao ciao.

King Tubby

Alot of this depends on whether or not kenny is at the helm. He loves Adam, and Spearing too. Neither going anywhere if Kenny is deciding.

And unfortunatley there both not good enough for Lfc :(

14 May 2012 16:19:53
hey eds,

Alex McLeish, sacked by villa for not achieving the goals they had set in place at the begining of the season, ultimately they have had a poor season (only a few wins behind us) - the owners looked at it, could see they weren't going to achieve their long term goals with him, im guessing top ten, then pushing for europe - I just hope our owners take note, our objectives havent been met, and we wont be pushing for the top 4 then onto the championship with Kenny...if people say we have won the Carling Cup and finished 8th, thats acceptable, then you're deluded, that is far from acceptable, we are Liverpool, not fulham or West Brom, or Everton - Please bring the right manager in! have any of the eds or macca heard anymore, since maccas last post?

You are right ye not everton because everton are better and the best team on merseyside ha ha ha [fact].

That's not what your trophy cabinet suggests, even for this season.

SideShowBob

Well if you think your the best team on merseyside ha ha how many times this season did you beat LIVERPOOL FC ?
Zero times ha ha how many cups did you win ? Zero none zilch so much for your best team on merseyside maybe the most improved side on merseyside

Just got home from school and the recurring theme of comebacks from my United fan friends when I take the mickey out of them is 'well we've got 19 leagues', this to me is hilarious because when we quote our 5 Champions Leagues apparently we're living in the past? Oh the irony

14 May 2012 16:00:26
Look..........Love Kenny or Hate him we got 14 wins this season.....14!!.......That under any management is terrible form, I love the man, hes a true LFC icon and if he stays i hope he finds the right way to sort us out but for me those 14 wins and an awful attitude towards the media who have in response slated us all season all add up to the situation just not being good enough,
Im all for continuity and Im all for stabilising but when some of us say we need a change we dont just mean management,
Ive supported this club for over 30 years and it needs a complete top to bottom change, to be fair the tv station is nothing short of embarrassing they constantly bleat on about the past and get reference for day to day issues from people with blinkers on who are far too close to be objective, It hardly ever allows people to get on the phone in who have relevant arguements, the whole thing is just a joke, the only thing of interest on there is the reserve league games so we get a chance to see some of the young lads play on a regular basis.
I for one loved Rafa, but we dont need him either, hes had his go so why are we always looking backwards?, if we are as we suppose, fans one of the biggest clubs in the world then why are we constantly being linked with second rate signings?, granted Champions league football would be a start but we were the same fans taking the michael out of Arsenals wage structure and lack of big name signings because of the way they went about their business,
We need to step away from the past and become a new modern Liverpool with fresh ideas and football to excite us, yes we have expectations because we have been spoilt so many times in the past but the league is our bread and butter and weve gone from being the year in year out league championship team to beat to someone who tommorrow never comes for, it would be a novelty for us to be in a winning league position now,
We need to cherish our past and heritage and remember it with our hearts but we should never rely on it and expect that we are un-removable from the elite...........Nottingham Forest anyone?..........It can happen to any club in this day and age,
Whether it be with Kenny or without Id like a big change and a good start would be something concrete about this stadium we were promised or the redevelopment of Anfield........I for one feel like weve sat waiting far too long already for this new lot to get their fingers out on that score, they seem to run away back to the states when it suits them from where im sitting..........I hope that turns out to be wrong.............sorry for the doom and gloom post boys but im not so confident in these owners as i was when they took over.
The Guv 81-9 YNWA JFT96

Excellent post with a lot of truth...
i think this summer will tell us a lot about the owners and the direction the club is going in.. hopefully its the right one!

While I agree that 14 league wins is not good enough I would never criticise Kenny's attitude to the media. Most of the media are beneath contempt, I like Kenny's sometimes cheeky attitude with them. I'd much rather have Kenny than the continual whinges and attempts to manipulate the officials that you get from the likes of Wenger, Redknapp an old Red Nose.

I too am disappointed with the season but Carroll is starting to look loke a decent player. Downing has shown glimpses of what he can provide and I genuinely think that in a few seasons time Henderson will be one of the top midfielders in the country. Losing Lucas early in the season was devastating for us and combined with the Suarez-Evra affair seriously disrupted our season. By the time Suarez returned we had already lost touch with the top four and clearly concentrated on the cups. In those competitions we concentrated on we won one and got to the final of the other knocking out the likes of Chelsea and both Manchester clubs on the way.

I think that Kenny has has a season to really get up to speed with modern Premiership management. His signings are starting to gel. Hopefully we will strengthen in the key areas of striker and right wing. We should also expect to see more of Kelly, Sterling, Robinson, Flanagan and possibly the likes of Suso and Coady especially in the cups.

I hope we don't start touting the likes of Adam around and look like we need to sell to buy as if we do we'll get bargain basement prices for our players.

All in all with Kenny in charge I expect to see a major improvement and a realistic chalenge for the top four at least next season.

Bob

Nice one Bob. Nick.

Wasn't the announcement that ticket prices will be frozen for next season? {Ed002's Note - I don't know, it may have been.}

FOR ALL THE KENNY HATERS THAT WANT HIM SACKED. I have just been informed that this season is a joint worst for 50 years. The other season was Bill Shankly's first year at LFC now just imagine where we'd be if we sacked him back then after that season. Keep the faith and support the club regardless of how bad they've been
red rrab

In his first 18 months Shankly won the Second Division Championship in his next 18 months he won the First Division Championship - KD is not on the same planet.

I'm afraid you've got either your history or your maths horribly wrong there mate! Shankly was appointed in 1959 and won the championship in 1964. Five years. 18 months plus 18 months is 3 years. You'd have probably sacked him after he didn't win the league in '63 from the sounds of your attitude to Kenny.

Kieran

And even if you'd kept faith in Shanks in 1962/63 you'd have no doubt sacked him in 1972 when Derby beat us to the championship and we hadn't won anything since 1966. The knowledgeable among us know that Kenny is moving us in the right direction, albeit slowly, and patience is crucial to long term success.

Kieran

P.S. KD has been in charge for 18 months

Seriously people, get out of your history books and look at the present day!

We as fans are rightly proud of our history, but constant references to it make it seems we are yesterdays club. Our current players are weighed down by our history and we can't move forward as a club because of our history.

50 years ago we had a worse season than we had now and didn't sack our manager then doesn't mean if we do the same now the same level of success will occur.

People who want KK sacked and people who don't have made valid arguments putting forward their views.

I'm of the view that had any other manager had the same record, they would be gone! Whether they're Kenny Dalglish or not should not influence and affect the decision makers opinions. Football is now a cut throat business and emotion should not affect decisions. The fact that Kenny has not found a solution to arrest the horrible 2012 form, and his very noticeable change in demeanour in recent months shows that managing the club has taken it's toll on him.

14 May 2012 14:21:48
Went to the game yesterday, and I think its fair to say the better team won. We could learn alot from Swanseas movement. Their man on the ball always had options, when we've got the ball Suarez is the only player to move into space to recieve it. For me, the biggest thing KK can do pre-season is get them all back on the training ground pronto and drum movement, movement, movement into them. Carroll won every header he challenged for, but the reason the balls had to be pumped upto him from back to front was that their was zero movement from our midfield in front of our defence, something that needs to be addressed.
Hes not a 'marquee' or a stella player, but once again Nathan Dyer impressed. Personally would be more than happy for us to sign him.

To be fair he's not actually a a bad pundit

As much as I hate Man U and despised him as a player he is actually a very good pundit.

Much better than Redknapp

Well to be honest - if you can get past the United link - he is probably the best of the pundits on the box

Think you'll find it's Phil Neville that has taken a coaching role for England.

It's funny because your opinion is far more bias than any of his.

14 May 2012 14:05:56
To be honest, I think that Kenny should get an extra year, but with a review in Dec to decide if we are doing as best as we can. if this is not the case then we can bring in a new manager and give them the jan transfer market for them to make changes. this means that as much as i would hate it, kenny would not have as much funds as some of us would like as some would be saved for either kenny or another manager to, if needs be make changes in Jan

I dont see why people keep mentioning the likes of cavani and lavezzi or players that are probably good in fifa 12 or something crazy. The simple fact is liverpool do not have the money to buY these players and with no champions league itw will be tougher, i know we had a poor season but our away form has been decent and i dont think we will ever drop as many points at anfield as we did this yeari think the confidence was justsucked right out of the team so i know this might be a stupid way to look at it but if we didn hit the post in them few games or miss silly chances we could have won a few more games which would have pushed us towards 4th place. i think with the addittion of 2 or 3 more quality players to add to the already good squad we have we could really challenege next season for top 4. another midfielder striker and winger and promote one or two young lads and there would be a decent balance to the squad. i would not worry liverpool will bounce back

i think its time for KK to step aside. Apart from his tactics etc which are questionable at times he continually tries to justify terrible performances and put them down to bad luck. We need a pacy right winger and a proven goal scorer. KK loves the club as we all do and he should do the right thing for the LFC

There are lots of rumours about Luuk De Jong joining liverpool, so I have decided to compile a video of some of his goals and skills, which is on the 'liverpool videos' page. I hope you enjoy!

YoungRed

Good video pal, I've not seen much of him so was a good video to watch. Just from those clips, he looks like a Van Nistelrooy type player, with very clever movement all with the intention of getting a shot off at goal.

I've read the price on his head is £12.65m which seems a fair price, and I hope Liverpool make a move based on YouTube, Player-Profiles page and a cameo vs England.

Employing the bloke that said the reason England failed so much was due to the rivalry between Man Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea players... Doesnt make any sense to me.. Surely the England squad, should be made up of ppl that WANT to play for England as much if not more than their clubs. .. from Goalkeeper to coaching staff.

Looks like stevie wont be captain then !!!

Looks like the Skrtel nonsense can be put to bed, given his quotes on the official site. Also, where's this alleged press conference with Ian Ayre?! Could it be that many people have been talking out of their posteriors? Sh*t stirrers.

Deluded fans have to start getting more realistic, we won't sign the likes of Cavani, lavezzi etc, we'll probably be signing very good players from teams that are lower from us

I expect

1) Diame from Wigan
2)Elm IF he agree's terms as quoted " I won't certainly leave AZ"
3)De Jong (Luuk)

MAYBE one of these

Suasetta (sorry for spelling)
Hoilett
Moses
Gaston Ramirez

Think hoilett would prefer to sit on the spurs bench than join lfc?

If you were Suarez - would you want to stay?

Diame Ramirez Munian de Jong

A few out goings to help fund these deals

The signings of
- Luuk De Jong
- Gaston Ramirez
- Rasmus Elm
will help us improve next season, no doubt!!

Why? Because Spurs have achieved SO much this season...
All they will do is get weaker because they are over rated. 'Arry sucks up the media and the suck him too.

I just want to pay a tribute to that man Dirk Kuyt. Not sure if this is the right page but here goes.
The man has given his all to this club since the moment he arrived.
I remember him being slated for not being much of a striker and doubts about the £10 million he cost early on. He had to adapt to a different role which he did with energy and 100% effort.
His ability on the right wing both going forward and defending was achieved with skill, hard work and great courage - he set an example to the whole team.
He inspired his teamates and the fans maybe even more than SG at times. He was a rock for the manager to turn to when he needed to bolster the back 4 or to launch us forward.
I will never forget Dirk who gave his all to this great club. He was more than worthy of his red shirt and I hope he feels that we fans repaid him with the respect and love that he deserves
He may be on his way - and we wish him & his family the very best - but he'll always belong to us at LFC and I hope he can come back one day in some form. You'll never walk alone, sir.

Hi Ed's
How many clubs are after Luuk De Jong?, do you think we can get him? He looks quality.
Cheers {Ed019's Note - We are favourites}

hi eds do you know if there is any interest in Jesus navas? He has fantastic pace and would certainly be an improvement from downing

Won't be leaving Spain, gets homesick just going to away games.

Kenny will step into the background in rge coming weeks... The big shock appointment would be jose mourinho as manager.
Liverpool is the only english club that he yearns to manage. He's previously mentioned how he respects the fans and loves anfield. Mourinho is all about his CV. He conquered portugal, spain, italy and england. Either he goes to germany, or comes to liverpool to try and put his name amongst our rich history. Once he achueves that he will take on international coaching and try and win a world cup.... Watch this space. Anti-football or not.. He's coming....

"Liverpool is the only English club he yearns to manage"

I'd be embarrassed by that post if I was you.

Mourinho would prefer to manage Liverpool over Chelsea

Over the last few weeks I have seen so many fans call for kenny's head it's unreal, I can understand why, but here's my view.
They say the league table never lies and maybe that's true, but I have been at so many games this year where I have been watching and saying "we're playing great, the goal will come soon' and it never did. The main turning point for me was arsenal, I was also at that game and watched a Liverpool side wipe the floor with a top side, I mean we destroyed them, but once again didn't get the goals we needed, that for me was where the premier league season finished for us, we had no incentive to go out and beat teams, but we still progressed In the games that mattered, like f.a cup.
Kenny came through for us when we needed him 18months ago, I now think we need to return the favour.
If we do a bit of better business in the market this year I'm sure we will be a force next year, not title winners but top 4 again along with another nice cup run.
I honestly believe we are not too far behind!
In King Kenny I trust.

G BOX

GOOD Good post

This is so true, up until that point top 4 was possible, and beating Arsenal would of put us almost in it. I think next season, a bit more clinical finishing and who knows how well we can do. Carroll is getting back into form and Suarez is scoring. 1 more first team player and 2 back ups and we're sorted.

14 May 2012 13:49:35
My friend, the people on here do not represent 98% of supporters. Genuine supporters are fully behind both kenny and the team. Some people just happen to think they know more than a true football legend, and they feel the need to tell everyone.

It happens in all walks of life, just ignore them...we are behind our manager totally

Tel 1949

-----------------------------
So if I don't like kenny as manager then I am not a genuine supporter?
Different opinions don't count?
Are you from north korea or you a dictator..

Red indian
Ps-dont need certificate from you to be a true red.

Some people don't respect others opinions and feel the need to tell them that they are a better supporter than them.

Some people support LFC and not KK.

Ash

Agreed liverpool supporter first end of. at the moment if you disagree regarding kenny your not a true red yes its like north korea be free and let our opinion be know.walk on a true red.

A true red is one who knows our history inside out. A true red will learn from our history that having patience with a proven winner is the way to bring long term success (think 1966-1973). Therefore a true red should support Kenny 100%.

Kieran

Some people expect everything and they want it now. They are like spoiled brats demanding everything without being willing to wait. This is not the liverpool way, we back everyone and try to give them a chance. If we sack Kenny we might aswell not be LFC anymore.

Apologies for the Cut & Paste but this should go some way to showing the people who think Skrtel is wanting to leave that he isn't:

Our No.37 made a total of 45 appearances and helped himself to four goals, including a crucial equaliser in the Carling Cup final triumph over Cardiff City at Wembley in February.

Upon being presented with the award at Melwood, Skrtel told Liverpoolfc.tv: "It's a great feeling. It's my first big award at Liverpool and I'm very happy about it.

"I think it was my best season since I came to Liverpool and I'm happy with my performances. I hope I will carry on in this way.

"I scored more goals than in past seasons, and I also think the way I played was better than in past years.

"Thank you very much to everybody who voted for me. I will try to do my best next season as well and we'll see how I go on."

This is what he said when given the LFC Player of the Season award today.

KD to fly to Big o' U S of A by wednesday afternoon!
I have heard it concerns the ever rising prices of the pies and pasties at anfield.
FSG are incensed at the vat hike and see the government ruling as nothing short of a personal attack on their profit margins.
A spokesman for club has re-iterated the hike as "an attack on Liverpool football club and it's supporters " claiming it undermines the crowd and their half-time rituals.
Given that it already takes too long to get served and most of the time the staff get your order wrong, at which point your too embarrassed to upset the already baying crowd behind you, I say we move the food staff downstairs to the merchandise counter and let some premiership proven catering staff try out for next years role or promote done of the youngsters and give them a chance?
Frank Lampard has reportedly offered his services at Angirld as he has a restraining order placed on him by no other than Roman Abramovich at Stamford bridge . The staff recognise Franks expertise in this fied but as yet, have not responded up his rallying cry.
Fergy had ruled himself out of the running claiming that" the lack of shorts" has put him off and he could never sell a pie to the scousers.
Don't shoot the messenger!

Hope he lost the job

Hi Ed(s) this is just a random post,and i know he isnt linked with liverpool but one of my favorite ever players is set to leave Juventus,Del Piero,I know he's old now,but have you any info on any clubs who are interested in him? do you think he will go USA/China?middle east etc or do you think he will stay in europe,possible swansong in the prem etc? Also do you expect Neymar to finally make the move to Europe or is he still happy to stay at Santos? cheers JB {Ed019's Note - Nothing on Del Piero. Neymar will probably stay at Santos}

good afternoon eds was just wandering does anyone else think it would be worth a chance giving a 1year contract to gennaro gattuso or maybe even a pay as you play deal to add a bit of steel to our midfield. cheers. CRAIG {Ed019's Note - No no no, too old and expensive}

14 May 2012 12:35:11
hi eds what do you think the chances are of liverpool getting moses from wigan? iv heard he wants to leave and try his luck at a bigger team and i think would be a great signing young and got the hunger and desire to improve. possible signing? {Ed019's Note - No idea}

14 May 2012 12:23:16
Ed's could one of you be so kind and say what signings you hope Liverpool do this summer out of possible targets? And if thoose signings actually happend would we actually ahve a chanse on topp 4 next season?

Also wanna say that you are doing a very good job, and my question is just so i know a bit more about what signings you think would strengthen Liverpool squad most this summer (ofc possible targets and not Messi or Ronaldo). Keep up the good work :) {Ed019's Note - I would sign De Jong, Ramirez, Munain and Susaeta}

Agree 100% ed with those prob 2 of other three and de Jong

Agree with other signings but Munain seems a bit too expensive and can move anywhere he wants I'd doubt it.

Good Day Ed's , i have been seeing reports linking us with berbatov , i would like to ask do use think there is any truth in that or its all made up from the media ? personally putting his links with man u aside i think he is a pretty good goal scorer and if he was given more starts he would be scoring on a regular basis ,

thanks {Ed019's Note - No berbatov}

14 May 2012 12:12:39
Hi EDS,

Great site!

Just a quick note - There are some really disillusioned fans on here claiming we are going to get Aguero, bla bla bla. People need to realise that isn't going to happen. Some reading everywhere, it appears FSG's policy is recruit young talent and put them on sustainable wages for the club. I personally think FSG do not mind splashing out on transfer fees - I think they are more concerned with the wage bill at the club.

However I do feel buying young takes time to produce results - so you could say we are around 4-5 years away from competing with the likes of Man City and scum. We need a season where we are not in the spot light - Every year we are always getting negative publicity - just isn't good for our club. We need our manager whoever may that be in August, players and staff to keep their noses clean and just become a force...Build our fortress which at the moment is a joke - teams like west brom are coming to Anfield thinking they can get a result and playing with no fear is simply a disgrace for us!

I know you will have your own opinions about this - would love to hear them :-)

P.S: Any news on the stadium front?
Sanj YNWA JFT96 {Ed019's Note - No news}

Sanj,
we are LFC, huge expectations mean we will always be in the spotlight, regardless of any goings on.
Patience is a funny understanding to try and preach in a results, media hyped industry. no-body can hide.

i too think a good clear out is well in need, didnt really happen last season, wage bill was trimmed, but this summer i think the squad will be trimmed and replaced with younger,hungrier guys.
Kenny deserves to have a proper shot at turning things aroun, FSG i dont think would have expected things to be turned around in 1 season.
Ok they put their necks out and mentioned a top 4 finish, but do you genuinely think they will be unhappy with 2 finals,1 cup and a europa spot?
KD to me has a 3 yr contract for a reason, and 1 reason only. to build a strong platform, bring back our style throughout the whole club not just on the pitch, then hand over to a more modern manager.
did KD choose DC ? no
does KD want a DOF ? who knows
do FSG want a DOF ? i think they will bring in a new one soon, to assist KD build.

i just dont see FSG spending so much to purchase the club, drag through the courts publicly to buy us,clear debt knowing no profit can be made, fight off a counter sue claim from the yonks who got us in this mess,then lose patience after what in all fairness is a bad half of season.

just saddens me that i know you will get the twonks on here constantly puring negativity on us.
keep that faith you have, and lets see what happens in the coming months.
Piddy.

14 May 2012 13:17:32
With the talent we have in the squad we probably finished in and around the right place in the league. Our squad is similar in strength to Newcastle's and them blue noses. The money spent is ridiculous but clubs can raise their prices when a top team comes a calling for their players.

We need to improve in ceartin areas Striker, right wing, backup for Lucas etc. and then we should hopefully get back into contention with Spurs and Arsenal.

It is like City when they bought Lescott, Bridge, Wright-Philips etc. Those type of players got them far enough up the table so that they could then attract champions league standard players.

I see Adam and Downing not staying more than two-three seasons, they are probably at their right level where we are now.

Hopefully the cheque book will be used wisely and we can come bouncing back in August. Come on Kenny.

Long live the king

While watching the game (Swansea) with my 15year old daughter, she turns to me and says, "Dad, Liverpool aren't very good are they, they can't even beat a small team from Wales', I tried to think of something meaningful to say, something profound and insightful, but couldn't, I actually had no answer.
Suppose being a LFC fan in like having 'faith', you either have it or not.

14 May 2012 13:07:40
A recent post states that Carroll has shown glimpses of what he can do. He has only been decent in one and a half games recently. For 35m we should be getting more. Get rid of him and Downing and Adam - and take Kenny with them.

The lad didn't ask to be valued at 35mn. It's the desperation of our management to get him at an inflated price. It is no wonder that Commolli got the axe. Kenny should shoulder the responsibility as well. Kenny and Clarke must be the worst parnership to bring out the best from the players. Their tactics and strategies simply failed which explained why we are 37 points behind the top two!! Even Gerrard is not performing to his level. Cara keeps letting opponents get the better of him. Spearing shouldn't be playing in the first 11 and Henderson seem lost each time he plays while Downing couldn't provide the asists that we are longing for the strikers. Reina is letting in soft goals. All these point to the fact that we need a good manager and coach as well as a credible scout who can spot good talents like the one they have in Arsenal,Newcastle and MU.

You're an idiot. Look at the official site and the season man of the match award tallies. Carroll is second only to Suarez. What was Drogba doing at the age of 23? Just moving to Marseille from Guingamp that's what. Carroll will come good in his mid twenties just like Drogba did.

Kieran

Did Carroll informed Mike Ashley that I won't go unless he gets 35 Million? .......I'm sick of people trying to assess his game based on dealing between 2 clubs which were done under different circumstance where Torres had put down transfer request and not performing well :(

Indian Red

Carroll is a young target man, it's very rare for them to reach their peak at 18-23 like pacey strikers. I'd say at 27 he'll be at his best and the fact that he's only going to get better gives me hope we'll get out 35million out of him.

The season is over, ratings out of 10 for our season, based on our Cup runs, league, and style of play please lads.

For me, it's 5/10

AG

4/10 for me.

YoungRed

You can't mark them all as one.
Cup 9/10. Has to be, we only lost 1 game
League 4/10
Style 8/10 overall

That's 21/30 for me (= 7/10) Not that bad!

KJS

A dnt really think you can judge all you stated in the same catorgory, can you?.
for me!
cup runs 8/10 we won 1 and got to final on the other cup, we where only in 2 cup.
style of play has to be atleast 7/10 we played good football most of seaon.
league form am going to say 5/10 others might say lower,if certain things had gone our way we would of been higher without doubt.we are heading in the right direction agen.lets not forget our situation could of been alot worse.
mrbrown

9/10 for the cup runs
3/10 for the league

I would prob say a 6/10 overall for the season. I am not too concerned about the league anyway, second is no better than 8th in my opinion, all or nothing for me.

MIKEY

I'm going to give 6.5/10 , I enjoyed watching most of the football played by our new team and the cups runs were superb .

End of the season time, so let's get this place ticking along properly. I'll start things off:

Suarez to join Everton in a straight swap for Phil Neville.
Reina back to Spain to appear in a Spanish stage version of Othello.
Carroll to Newcastle... Jets of the Australian A-League.
Kenny and Steve Clarke are to roll back the years and register as players for next season. John Henry feels the club needs to add some experience to aid the youth in their development.

and finally.....

Messi is to walk out on Barcelona in a sensational move that will see him join the consortium buying Glasgow Rangers where a newco will be formed called Glasgow Messi. They'll start in the Scottish third division where Messi hopes to test his skills against the likes of Big Davie Niven of Elgin City.

Remember where you heard it first!

Guys, ive said this before and ill say it again - Expect Kenny to see out his final year of his contract.

Next season could be worse than this season or it could be better. Lets see what additions FSG bring to the club in the form of management to help Kenny and lets see when there probably isn't the money available as last summer how shrewd Kenny can be in finding some good players in an over inflated market, if Newcastle can then LFC can.

Lets have a bit of LFC togetherness and faith!

I personally would support Liverpool even if they where relegated because im a true supporter - not to say I wouldn't be massively disappointed and broken man - but this wont happen!

Remember YNWA - it means something lets not forget that.

YNWA jns

100 million spent and a mickey mouse cup. Everton spend 6 million and end up above you.
Great management by KK-

KK has 2 years left on his contract

I agree that Liverpool shouldn't have finished below Everton but a Mickey Mouse cup when teams like Chelsea and Man City have been beaten along the way. If Everton had won that cup we'd never hear the end of it. Oh and it's still 17 years and waiting I believe!!

Apologies - Ive read Kenny has a 3 year deal in some parts of the media and a 2 year deal in other parts.

I still believe he will stay another season. A third I guess depends totally on next seasons developments.

YNWA jns

Did Everton reach the Carling Cup final? No. Did Everton reach the FA Cup final? No. Did Everton get Europa League? No.
Fair enough they beat us in the League, and to be fair yes we bad a poor league run, but I 99.9% believe we'll do a lot better next Season. KK needs to strengthen, which I think he will, and then we can begin to look at top 4 but that will be a very hard aim.

I also believe we'll have a good run in the Europa League, which will be fun!

Thanks, Ell.

So, what did Everton win with their 6 million spent, then?

At least we have a trophy to show for all our troubles.

To hear from Kenny and some of the senior players who said that we are making progress is a big laugh. If we can't get into the big league in Europe we are not going to attract good players to our club. We cannot live on past laurels and history. if we do not wake up and address the problems we have now, we are going to be in the mid table for a long time.

14 May 2012 11:39:36
On a side not, I've been quite impressed with Doni in the last couple of games he's played. Other than a couple of decisions he's made that made my heart skip a beat, I think he's done well, and certainly hasn't been any worse than Reina. I do think we should be looking at signing a young keeper that will surely be world class. All the academy lads can be a little bit dodgy, and I'm not convinced by Gulacsi. If you look at all the top teams in our league, minus Spurs they all have top, young goalkeepers. Be it Hart, de Gea, Szczesny, Krul, or Courtois. I wouldn't complain if we signed one and then loaned him out to get first team experience, like Chelsea have done with Courtois. I wouldn't say it was a priority, as other areas clearly need strengthening first, but Marc-André ter Stegen looks like a prospect I wouldn't want to miss out on.

My personal favourites would be like this:
Sells: Reina (15m), Carra (retire), Aurelio (1m), Adam (6m), Downing (10m), Maxi (4m) and Carroll (10m)
Out funds: 46m

Ins:
GK - Ter Stegen (8m)
RB/RW - Isla (8m)
CDM - M'vila (15m)
COM/LW/RW - Kagawa (10-15m)
RW/LW - Belhanda (12-17m)
FOR - Giroud (15-20m)
In around:74-46= (28m spent)

Aurelio is free

Why we getting 1m for Aurelio his contacts has or will shortly expire

Classic ..you want to sell Carroll now when he is getting confidence and reaching the form he had in his Newcastle days....Amazing !

Good morning to all on this forum...

I just popped in for a quick chat...about ...errrm your open top bus PARADE with the FA Cup...I distinctly remember someone inviting me...

But on closer inspection maybe CFC...would object to the losing finalists swanning around Merseyside with THEIR trophy LOL:)))))

Plus the little matter of our PL positions...
I can also recall someone telling me that the MIGHTY BLUES would be in your SHADOW...

au contraire my friends...

Please post your replies to MR. BLUE 2/47 Esq...

maybe we can enjoy the fact we beat you three times this season.
Heres to next season.

You're on here gloating because you actually won nothing and you have finsihed 7th, one place above LFC! Oh, how proud you must be with such a great season, still, it's the best you could have hoped for really, wasn't it....I think that says it all........and it doesn't position you well.

We've had a nightmare season losing key players for significant lengths of time through suspension and injuries, and we still win a trophy, get into another final and qualify for European competition. We also know (not hope unlike the bitter blues) that the future is bright because of the financial soundness and global size of this club.

You can't say the same can you! I'll tell you what, you enjoy your success, because it is the best you can achieve. Oh, what a wonderful future you have.....NOT...

LOL

ConnorsLFC

So did you qualify for any european competion i dont think so im normally liverpools biggest critic but wether you finished 7th or 8th doesnt really matter they have had a better year than you getting to two finals i suggest going on your bike mate unless you can say something sensible ......on the plus side youve got no money to spend next year good day to you sir

1 in 8 is seen as a consalation Blue.
which, i (we) accept you have deserved it this season, after yet again another mediocre mid table finish.
you along with everyone on here will admit you will always be in our shadow.

"two good teams in liverpool, liverpool 1st team & the reserves"
But i congratulate the fact you feel a sense of acheivement for finishing higher in a league where there is such a divide between top 5-6 to 7-8 this season.
lets see who you have to sell this year to keep alfoat for next season?

Says it all when your idea of an achievement is just to finish above liverpool, well congratulations are in order I suppose, well done hears to winning.. well nothing again next year.

Obviously Blue 247 you must consider it to be an iconic achievement finishing above us..

There my friend is the differance, we believe our season to be a failure even with a trophy in the cabinet and a spot in the europa league..

We have had one of our worst seasons ever but we still made two finals and tried to win things...why is your club even participating if it's not trying to win anything? you're celebrating 7th!

Hey...That went well didn't it ?

It seems the Swansea match took it's toll on you guys... eh ?

Lets face it fellas ...you are now in the shadow of a club with ...should we say...financial issues (i.e. haven't got 2 pennies to rub together )

And here you are still posturing like a

As an end of season piece of damn good advice...

GET REAL COP ON TO YOURSELVES YOU ARE ALL DELUSIONAL ...

One day you will thank me for this ;)

It's ok, fellow reds, let the little ones come here and wind-up. They only a small club after all. Singred

Blue 247 the diffrence between your club and our club is your club have finnished in or around that position in the EPL for many years were as our club are not used to their position in the EPL so you have not really achieved anything that any one did not expect but to put it in perspective you played our club three times and lost but you finnished were you blues expected to so in short have you improved or just stayed were you have always been ?

Just my 2 pence on the manager situation. I want what's best for my club, and someone else who wants that is Kenny Dalglish. When Kenny was given the job he asked for 3 years to turn us around. At the time, everyone was behind him and was willing to give him those three years. This season may not have gone the way we all wanted, but we are still only one third of the way through the period Kenny asked for. I truly believe that Kenny will do what's best for the club. If he feels he can be the one to get us back at the top, then I'm willing to give him the opportunity, support and respect he deserves. If he feels he's taken us as far as he can, and decides to take an alternative role, then I'll support his decision likewise.

If he does decide to step down, I'd look to either Juergen Klopp or Marcelo Bielsa. What they've done with Dortmund and Ath. Bilbao is admirable. They play a similar style to what we're trying to instill, and they seem to be able to get the most out of their players. Plus I wouldn't complain if they wanted to take a few of their players with them.

As I say, just my opinions, but if Kenny feels he can do it, then he should be given at least next season to see if he can.

Totally agree mate

Kenny has failed , people who fail get sacked .

People who fail while spending £130m get sacked quickly , certainly by Friday . Be patient .

Kenny has one big idea for next year and will put this before FSG to convince them to contine to back his overhaul of the club which has broken LFCs premier league points tally. We know its an expensive business to go backwards yet Kenny no longer wants over £100m to invest in ineffectual "talent". No, for our next campaign kenny just wants more LUCK!

what a grade1 failure

14 May 2012 11:19:40
And so it begins the transfer window opens (i think) so good luck to all of the eds and no matter how much abuse you get from some of the trolls your work is greatly appreciated.

By the way what are the chances of Aguero and Cavani ...... JOKE

Downing has had all season to show us what he can do. Henderson Carrol and Adam have shown glimpses but Downing, zilch. Some say he will get better next season and give him time, WHAT! this guy is not 19 or 20 he is nearer 30, he has played in premiership for ages and if he cant do it now then get rid, he shows no desire or aggression and thats what quality wingers have. Totally dissapointed in the season after all that money spent. We need to buy players who want to play for us and will show us a fighting spirit on the pitch, if some of our players had the same commitment and spirit as Suarez and Skrtl have then maybe we would be in the top 4 now. MrT

Valid point MrT.
other wingers have outshone Downing this season, Sinclair, Dyer, Young etall.

we have bought a consistent Prem player, expected to step up surrounded with quality.
has he stepped up... NO
surrounded with quality..arguably YES..
Seems a little lost in the limelight to me, thing is Kenny plays him every game as there is no out & out competion for him. (sterling should have been used in last quarter of season to me to provide a little impetus to do better?)
personally, cut our losses and sell 10-14m? bring in younger, hungrier direct winger for sterling to learn from.
Piddy.

Downing needs to go, as do several others.

14 May 2012 11:06:57
I think this season has been a watershed for us - all change starts at the bottom - and in our terms this IS the bottom - I can't, I can I can't I can I can't believe things won't, will, won't improve next season -

Freezing ticket prices because of up and down form = poor attendances,money worries,uncertain future = panic,panic panic panic panic,hope this helps you mate

14 May 2012 11:02:28
Well that's finally the end of a hugely disappointing season. The owners now face a huge decision, stick with Kenny or get a new man in? If the do stick with the King then the may have to stand by him all of next season or risk backlash from fans still loyal to him. On the other hand this might be the only time for them to get a manager of their choosing in, the owners want success and i'm sure they will make the right decision no matter how tough it is.
But should they get it wrong and the club goes longer without Champions League money and the television exposure that brings the greater the risk of the once proud Liverbird fading to the pages of history.

For me i hope the King gets another season to right a lot of wrongs.

always a red

Morning Ed's can you tell me the chances of of babel returning? the likelyhood of KD being in charge next season?

the brown man {Ed019's Note - Babel is available but he won't be returning. I have no idea about Kenny, One day he's definitely staying, and one day he's definitely going according to the media}

Lol! Someone still want Babel back! To come and do what exactly? Run LFC's twitter pages?

I'd rather have Babel than Downing!

Is there a Liverpool press conference scheduled for today?

14 May 2012 10:47:44
quick question, who is currently the vice captain/s of Liverpool, as well as captain in the absence of Steven Gerrard? {Ed019's Note - Carragher is the vice. If there is no Carra, then it is either Lucas, Reina or even Strtel}

Reina appears to have seniority after Gerrard and Carra. Skrtel was captain when Reina was missing as well.

Don't think Lucas captained this season, but he did in pre-season last year.

Gerrard, Carra, Reina, Kuyt, Skrtel in that order.

AG

Lucas captained the side in Some europa game I believe.

14 May 2012 10:39:26
we all have wishes but we are just not good enough.
spearing downing(scared) maxi((to old) adam(blackpool player) are not good enough to compete at the top.
keep in mind that carra(great but its over) bellamy(cant play every game) kuyt(cant carry a team) are at the end we need 5/6 players.
i believe henderson caroll will come good,once we really dominate games caroll will be unstopeble,others around him will have time and space.
reina
doni
johnson
kelly
skrtl
coates
agger
enrique
lucas
gerrard
henderson
shelvey
suarez
caroll
sterling
add 3 youth players.( coady wisdom(better than we all think)robinson.
sell adam downing kuyt aqua cole kuyt spearing.
buy 2 wingers 1 striker 2 midfielders and 1 defender.
get in de jong(striker)(kluivert last week said that he will be the future forward for the dutch)10mil
erikson(midfielder with eyes in his back) great player only 19 and fisher(class winger) only 18 from ajax combined 25mil.
left winger needed i dont know who but we need 1.
And 1 central defender.
we will need to spend around 80mil but we could sell 30 mil.
and all this nonsense that we spend 120mil needs to stop.
we sold torres and babel and bought suarez carrol same money.
we spend on downing 20mil adam 6mil enrique 7mil henderson 16mil quates 7mil thats 56 mil.we sold meirelles 13mil and small sales around 5mil.
so we spend in total 40mil.
what do these americans expext we lost alonso march benayoun arbeloa torres ect ect.?
i am not saying money is the only way forward but i believe that if we get 4 quality players in suarez and caroll will be unplayeble for any defence.
the back 4 is solid lucas and gerrard are class.
we are not that far behind we only need to buy quality.
i believe sterling will be a special player in years to come.
sry for my english i am from malta.
lets wait for next season and support KENNY.

Don't put (blackpool player) like that meaning eveything that comes from us is crap because he played for a lower league team. adam did ok ish when you look at downing and the money spent on the others.JJ blackpool

I'm so damn eager to see LUCAS command the midfield again ...just when reached his peak form he was injured ...such a shame :(

So torres,babel and the rest didnt cost anything when they first came to lfc,they where a free gift? i wish i lived in your world mate,i would by a house for 70k sell it 4 years later for 140k and f--k the mortgage company,brilliant, another thing that you have missed and is very important is that the team value/assets have dropped considerably.2 years ago gerrard,torres,alonso,mascherano value was prob eqaul to or more than the value of liverpools starting eleven now,do the sums.in other words you have just sold your prized family jewels for top money and with that money you visited gerrald ratners shop and he done you up like a kipper with his shiney gold coloured crap.but in your world you got it for free cause your prized family jewels didnt cost you anything.just think about it!

They were all bought when were making CL money.
We always come 2/3 players short under rafa reign,otherwise we would have won the league.remember voronin?
FSG bought liverpool knowing that we had at least 15 deadwood players.
nobody can tell me that spearing adam maxi are LFC class.
and i did not want to be nasty towards blackpool but adam is not LFC standard.
march alonso lucas gerrard are the players that can wear the shirt.
downing dribbles and stops,cant score and rather not have the ball ( no LFC winger)

14 May 2012 10:57:45
The players most likely to join us as it stands seem to be de Jong and Diamè

14 May 2012 10:56:33

David Ngog to be top scorer in the Championship :)

14 May 2012 10:52:51
Ed if kenny went do you think any of these managers would be interested
Pep guardiola
Bielsa
Emery
Juergen kloop

Plus could you rate the likelihood of these players out of 10 Munian susaeta Lukk de Jong Ramirez lewandowski

Thanks ed

You can forget the following;

Emery:- Is already Spartak Moscow manager.

Guardiola:- Not available till after one year sabbatical

Jurgen Klopp:- He is Mr. Dortmund personified. He is not going to leave the team he constructed himself, especially since the team is in CL next season.

Bielsa? I hear he is too outspoken and a bit of a troublemaker.

Lewandowski has refused a new contract.
" new contract offer is insufficient"
current runs till 2014.
slur Alex has scouted, but not sure if its Kagawa they were looking at.

Lewandowski's agent has confirmed interest, or could be just talking the guy up?

Dortmund's owner has stated he nor Hummels will be leaving in the near future, having just secured the domestic double.But Kagawa is expected to leave.

23 year old, 22 goals this season, surely like to think this is the kind of player we should be attempting to buy?

I'm not going to leave my name to this rumour due to the insults I'm going to receive due to the players name! I'm not sure if it will be a buy or loan? but there are rumblings that dalglish is keen to take jenas from tottenham! I dont think we will be buying superstars? but the jenas one HAS been mentioned a couple of times now....sorry

Mate, at this stage of his career Jenas spends 99% of his time on the treatment table. No competing club will offer any kind of deal for him anymore. Given that Aurelio is a better player & is being released due to inconsistency, this Jenas thing isn't gonna happen is it?

Just seen the post match interview , Kenny revealed his recovery plan for next season ,

'' Keep Believing ''

So it's a relegation scrap for us then , and , having displayed relegation form for six months , I am not that confident .

I do not criticise him for putting on a brave face for the media but , privately , is he not as ashamed as the rest of us ?

'Ashamed'? You clearly are as you forgot to post your name. I however am not 'ashamed'... dissapointed maybe but not ashamed!. When people I meet find out I'm a Liverpool supporter, I'm still proud mate... try it!

Hey eds, in regards to the statement which is meant to be put out by Ayre sometime after the season had finished, is it possible it was just yesterday's announcement of the ticket price freeze?

Thankyou in advance and have a lovely day.

Hi Eds, Great site, I am on it everyday. Now that the season is over, I believe that we are not too far away from a top 4 team. All we need are a few tweaks. I think with the following players, we could be there next season :
1. Seydou Kieta ( Proper back up for Lucas )
2. Luuk de Jong ( Poacher for our lack of goals )
3. Iker Muniain ( To add some creativity )
4. Elm ( To do what Adam was meant to do )

And off course replace whoever wants to leave LFC

What do you think EDs

South African RED. {Ed019's Note - All are possible bar Keita, but if we want Munain, we will have to pay tons, which I doubt}

Gaston Ramirez instead of keita I know price difference but he would double his value within a few years plus if we go I think we have a fair chance of landing him

Few people out there saying they would be glad to see martinez at anfield lets put that to bed yes he has had some good results and yes he has saved wigan from relegation but lets no forget he is the one responsable for getting them in that situation we dont need a manager who can save a club we need one that can win trophys the only time i want to see martinez at anfield is in charge of a mediocre team getting trounced by the mighty reds

14 May 2012 10:06:20
It's obvious there needs to be a few more outgoings than kenny has suggested, and for certain there needs to be the addition of some reasonable talent.
Of course everyone feels it's time for Maxi, Kuyt, Spearing and Adam, moreover, we don't need them if we want to be a decent club ever again...but will it happen?

If there is any sense in this world approaches for the following will be made (and I think would be great signings)

Mohamed Diame (free)
Junior Hoilett (very cheap)
Gaston Ramirez or Muniain (15-20m)
Luuk De Jong (15-20m)

Cheers

Guys calm down and give KK a break. It was ok to give Houllier and Benitez 5-6 years each yet when our icon who has a proven track record for us comes out of retirement to steady the ship you want to consign him to the scrapheap after 18 months. He deserves better. It took whisky face 7 years to get his team into shape. Man City have taken 4 years at incredible expense to get where they are now. It tool Chelsea a similar amount of time too yet some of you guys want to get rid of KK after 18 months. Rest assured KK and the owners have a 3 year plan to get us challenging. We are work in progress, our squad is not yet balanced. Most of KK's signings were bought for the long term, they need our patience and will deliver like Lucas has done. Despite the overhaul and the disappointing results, KK has still managed to deliver us a cup win and an FA cup final in his first full season. We have also returned to the pass and move philosophy which once again now permeates throughout all levels of the. Give the man a chance, more than anyone he deserves it. Reality Red

At last a reality check from the Reality Red. Great post mate and 100% agree
The Goatherder
JFT96

Yeah give him more time. It took him only a season to have the worst home record since 1954 and drop behind the top teams by some 35 points!! The rot sets in when Kenny left us 20 years ago or have some people forgotten? We have fallen behind some 7 teams What have the management done for the past 20 years?

Isn't Kenny just Great!

He spent 100 and some odd million and made the team worse than it was, well that's what out league position suggests anyway!

Looking forward to next season with excitement or trepidation?

Depends if you see the glass half full or half empty?

Kenny does not seem to see any probelms with his defiant mood, is that good or bad?

I have to say well done to Citeh, I think they showed character and determination yesterday something LFC used to have in abundance and to see Slur Alex's face when he heard the news was worth the 1.5 Billion Citeh have spent on the club, the players, the wages and the infrastructure.

I'm hope next season LFC are competitive in the league, I think it will be harder than ever.

I can see United strengthening, now 'Arry staying at Spurs I can see them been competitive again, can see Chelski spending big again, and as long as Arsenal hang onto Van-Pissed-His-Pants I can see them doing well and Citeh will strengthen and add to their massive wage bill.

So over to you FSG.

Im already looking forward to next season - im must be a masochist!

YNWA jns

Well seeing as fsg have frozen ticket prices for the fans because of "the up and down league performances and the economic climate"in other words lfc are a sh-te mid table team,the fans arnt turning out,says a lot about fsg,s thoughts for next season.if the delusional ones think this is a sign lfc will be better next season,think again.on the plus side,when you finish in the bottom 3 next season they might reduce ticket prices in line with other lesser clubs.at this rate they can redevelope anfeild as an 28.000 all seater stadium with plenty of room to spare,there will land left over they could turn into vegetable alottments.get your names down early for one,turnips seem to be the latest craze in anfield this year and they are paying big money for them LOL

whats happened to Gerrard its like as if he,s acting like a player/coach , i know he,s an ambassordor of the club that doesnt mean you dont play, bet he,ll be ok for England though!!
It seems his heart isnt in it and it shows in his performances this year.
Our midfield is where we have been let down not up front the midfielders are the supply line to the strikers not exsistent with players like Henderson and Shelvey and that one dimensional midget Spearing

Gerrard always favours lfc over England to be fair and you can never say that he doesn't give 100%

Liverpool end the season with their lowest ever Premier League points total, their fewest wins (14) in a top flight season since 1953-54 and their fewest top flight goals in a season (47) since 1991-92.

Still, they won the Carling Cup eh?

Assuming that Kenny is still manager next season assuming he has a limited budget and assuming he sticks to his preferred 442 system. What changes do you see to what is probably our strongest lineup up

Reina
Johnson Agger Srktel Enrique

?? Gerrard Lucas Downing/Bellamy

Suarez Carroll

Personally I believe we need a right sided midfielder, creative midfielder and a striker to complement the above and then it look lie a decent squad

thanks

RedDan

Lukk de Jong Munian Ramirez

What you think?

Honestly, I will be surprised if suarez remains here next season. I dont want it to happen, but I expect the owners will cash in suarez, i Just see it happening this way. Will be a massive, massive mistake if they do.

Sterling? scousedel

All of this speculation is pointless , Kenny will be lucky to see out the end of the week , let's see who the new manager is first .

I will be honest! I hate Liverpool but I admired the way you backed your managers through good times and s***e times but you fans on here have changed that for me now! All the stuff about getting rid of Kenny Dalglish.... You have won the carling cup, final of FA Cup and basically hammered teams in the league without winning games you should of! (like hitting the woodwork a zillion times)its his first full year in charge..... Man City spent millions more than you lot and it took a couple of years to win something. Just chill :)

Tree Blue

My friend, the people on here do not represent 98% of supporters. Genuine supporters are fully behind both kenny and the team. Some people just happen to think they know more than a true football legend, and they feel the need to tell everyone.

It happens in all walks of life, just ignore them...we are behind our manager totally

Tel 1949

Tree Blue, your absolutely right.We've played some of our best football under Kenny this season and with a goalscorer we would have been 3rd. Sadly some fans tend to jump on the latest bandwagon going around and at the minute its 'Dalglish out'. Congrats on a good season from you lot though.
KiwiRed

@Tel 1949 talk for yourself, i think your maths are way off the mark.
I'm not KK's biggest fan but appreciate what he has done for the club. If you are happy with the clubs current position and the direction (down) Kenny appears to be taking us, you are clearly deluded.
Roy finished the season 6th and everyone was calling for his head.
I think it's about time the old guard removed those kenny tinted glasess, having said that, i will continue to support
the team, the players and the manager whoever it might me.
StoneCold

It's difficult just to blame a whole season on bad luck, but it has been just that. When we dominate all of the top teams (even if we don't win) we have a reason to be disappointed. I'd rather win against the bottom 14 teams and get 84 points than beat the top 5 and get 30.

Tel 1949, you and your so called 2% of the real supporters need to take your heads out of your arses, realise that the so called almighty King Kenny, has led liverpool to our worst season for many years. Kenny has guided us through relegation form since the start of 2012. The only team worse than us since the start of the year is wolves.

He has failed and cant wait for FSG to give him the arse.

Steve

Kiwired, we sure have played some of the best football under kenny, and its realised, oh wait for it, a mid table 8th position. Absolutely fantastic season was it?

Steve

If your happy with 14 loses this season,kennys out of date deluded tactics and poor performances from downing,spearing,adam and henderson then i hope your happy with npower laegue football for years to come

This isn't band wagon jumping , it's a deep sense of shame . Most people in the crowd could have spent £130m better than Kenny .

Do you really expect an improvement next year ? We are in for a relegation scrap , open your eyes , you are in dangerous denialist mode .

True blue is right we had a world class manager in rafa won the champs league came runners up two years later ,we were in europe every year finished 2nd in the league with our higest ever points total in the league had quality players in the team ,yet stupid fans wanted rid of him and still now wouldnt take him back ,mabye we dont want to be ranked the number 1 team in europe

jeff:)

@Stone Cold Roy didn't finish the season 6th you stupid bellend. We were 12th when he was sacked.

And as I said last night, if we don't give Kenny more than one full season in control, what chance has Martinez? Suppose he finishes 7th. Will people say "well let's give him more time to rebuild", or will there be a clamour for another flavour of the season whizzkid young manager?

We talk about rebuilding, yet some don't seem to want to give the manager any time to do it. Mind boggling.

- Something Red -

Steve i think Tel1980's was actually putting the likes of me and you in the 2%
He thinks 98% agree with him?
StoneCold

I agree with Tel, unfortunatly the internet provides a forum for the less fair minded to scream and shout, whilst hiding behind the anonymity their computer screens provide, they would never make these comments in public because they know they would be ridiculed. if you go to the pubs and bars around Liverpool and 98% of people are behind Kenny and the players.

I fully agree with Tel. Most supporters would.

cozinoz

Can Rafa take us to the top 4 if he's given the job? I'll bet even he will tell u the task of taking us to top 4 in one season too big to achieve given the investment put in by other clubs.

That is how far we have fallen behind. There isn't a miracle solution here. Kenny has laid the foundation, he wants to see it through. We owe him that. Singred

What a daft comment to say it does not matter that we finished 8th in the league table.

That is the only competition that you can measure genuine progress.

Dalglish has to go and be replaced, dalglish should have never been appointed in the first place and I believe was promoted on emotion only due to the fans singing dalglish from the terraces.

Why don't we all take off our rose tinted glasses and accept that the points tally is simply not good enough.

MJ

What happened to having patience and letting the manager build the team?

If a new manager is appointed, how much time will you give him? Or are you going to call for his head again at the end of next season if there's no improvement, then pary for a new manager to take over, then hope for the best the season after that, and on and on? Singred

MJ the points tally doesn't lie, we've had a bad season. However KD must have this season to put it right. We he has already proved he can do it when he took over so let's back him and see where we are next season.

Why all these martinez links all of a sudden? I mean hes a good manager and deserves a bigger club than wigan but is he ready for Liverpool Unlikely.
If KK does leave which i think is unlikely I think what we need a manager with champions league experience

Why if we're not in the champions league?

No need for a manager with champions league experience as we arent in it and wont be for the foreseeable future

Steve

Why? Because you're not going to need to call upon champions league experience for the forseeable future

When asked if he expected to be in the Anfield hot seat next season, he replied: "I expect the owners to have more dignity and integrity than to believe a story in a newspaper."

And I suppose you know a lot more than a true football legend. Get a life, we support our club and our manager because we just happen to love both.

If you dont, then go and support someone else for a few months, Im sure you will be back

"deluded"have you been watching liverpool games??we are so poor its past a joke we was outclassed buy swansea yesterday"yes Swansea",yes kenny is a true football legend but as a manager he has not got a clue,you dont buy players like downing ,henderson and Adam and expect to be top 4 team,i dread to think who he will buy this summer more dead wood to add to the dead wood we already have.
wake up Tel 1949 we are not in the 70s and 80s anymore

Has KD been removed as the liverpool head coach?
Ratan {Ed002's Note - No.}

WHY??

I don't care what happens with our managers. All i know is that I will go out and support my team no matter what. I love kenny but honestly i don't care if he manages Liverpool or if its Roy Hodgson or Enrique. All that matters to me as a fan is that the manager loves the club and wants to be the manager of one of the most historical clubs in history.
Bring on next season, i can't wait already!

I am just curious. A lot of fans are going on about how this season was really really bad for Liverpool. I beg to differ. We won silverware AND got European football. I mean, you gotta start somewhere, right? Remember guys, we are a team in progress. Now, I know an 8th position finish is unacceptable at Liverpool. But at the end, it doesn't matter. We have a shot at a European title next season, and we have also won something after 5 years or so. Another season ended, there is no need to mourn about the performance now. Hopefully we will improve our squad in the summer and try again next year. Be patient. Y.N.W.A.

I think most of us appreciate what your saying, but our league form dropped off quite rapidly in 2012 and we never regained it. I personally think in the early season we witnessed some of the best football from LFC that we fans have seen in a decade, but we have also witnessed our worst form since the 50's. Swings and roundabouts. Im not saying this and that player needs to go, but we do need a significant boost somehow, weather that is a change in the coaching staff, medical staff, playing staff who knows. I just pray we are knocking on the door of 4th spot next season.

Glad the seasons over, close that chapter of disappointment.
Hopefully the next chapter (season) is a lot better!.

There are many different things that could potentially happen this summer as far as players and managers etc...

The only thing I know is that come August I will still love this club and there is nothing that will change that.

I am starting to wonder if FSG really have what it takes (financially) to build LFC into a major football powerhouse again, or are they just 'adding as much value/equity' as possible before they sell on.
Suppose time will tell, but I must confess it does seem unlikely.

14 May 2012 02:31:18
I hope FSG have taken note, at just how much Man City spent on players to secure the EPL.
By cutting KK's transfer kitty, will not help at all.
Yes we have spent, but also recouped through sales, so its not quite as dramatic as it seems.

Welcome to the big league MR Henry and the FSG crew, if you want success you have to pay for it, oh yes and don't forget you still want to build a new stadium or redevelop.
Nobody said this was going to be easy.

Do you really want to turn into Man City/Chelsea etc and just buy your way to success. It's just a reflection of how greedy our society has become. When success is deemed to equate to cash then the heart and soul goes out of the game. It really disheartens me to hear the opinions of some fans on here.Granted they are entitled to think what they like, but I don't want a team of players who are comng to Anfield for the cash. I want players who love the club as much as I do.
I am as desperate to win the league as anyone, but am still willing to wait and have patience to build a new dynasty.I know we have waited and waited and gone through several rebuilding processes and should have won the league really with Roy Evans or Rafa's teams but we didn't This season has been frustrating at times but loads of fans seem to forget our three trips to Wembley...three times more than most other teams!
Maybe its because I am 50 odd and have been fortunate enough to live through some great times with this club, maybe I will be called niave but I really don't want to buy success.

KJS

Well done, well said KJS!

dd

Good points KJS, I think that because you are 50 and have experienced the glory days, that you have the patience to wait for it.
Sadly many 'younger fans' do not, in a age of 'instant this, and instant that', expectations are that much greatter.
Its all about immediate gratification, and brand statements,recognition, immediate media, immediate response, its all 'IMMEDIATE', this is the reality of a younger fan, those that will carry the club years from now.
Sadly for us older guys, all we have are memories of a glorious past and decade and a half that is forever etched in our memories.
The younger fan does not.
Should we not make significant strides as a club quickly, we will not retain our younger fans who will move on, and we will become a club supported only by 'middle aged' fans, caught in a perpetual cycle of 'REMEMBER WHEN WE!".

For me our #1 target should be Moussa Sissoko. we need a beast in the middle something we currently lack. Stevie used to do the job and on his day still can but thats its. City won the league with yaya Toure... Slim

The last time lucas came up against yaya he kept yaya under raps

Another disappointing season, although we did win more trophies than Man United and on the bright side we are still only one title behind and hopefully we will beat them to number 20. Although both clubs will probably have to wait for a few years to achieve it !

The season may be over, but this is when this site is most exciting ! I'm genuinely exited about the prospects of new signings and the removal of the last of the deadwood (aquilani, etc).

There are plenty of positives for next season, Carroll has shown great form in the last month and hopefully he will carry that through the Euros and into next season. With a quality finisher and a tiny bit of look we could have finished in the top 4 this season, had we not put all our efforts into the cups, plus Lucas was a major loss.

The immediate future may be blue (city), but the long term future is Red !

Post season reflection from a loyal red.
Downing, and Adam are sadly not of the calibre of players deserving to wear the liver bird on their chest.
I would include Carroll and Henderson in that list if I didn't see some morsel of talent in them, I honestly believe in time both will be valuable and important members of the squad or will command a respectable fee if moved on.

Our overall problem this season was our loss of Lucas and not having a quality passer in the middle to distribute and direct the team. Evra-gate had a huge psychological impact on the whole squad and so the "nothing goes right for us" excuses began and our most enigmatic player missed a crucial portion of our campaign, Carroll obviously has a problem with motivation, I wouldn't say he doesn't care but I believe there is some mental health issues with him and he could turn it around with a clean slate and good preseason. Gerrard and Aggers constant injury problems ruined the consistency of our "core". I believe Gerrards injury problems will plague his final few years at anfield, he will stay but his importance will dwindle, same can be said of Carragher. Kuyt, Maxi and possibly Johnson will more than likely move on.
As for next season, who really knows what will happen. Lucas will be like a new signing, and if only Aquilani would settle he could be an excellent addition to the team, some dynamic passing players are urgently needed along with a poacher. Huge money most certainly does not need to be spent to get us back into champions league positions but a mountain is there to climb for kenny next season if he decides he wants to lead the demoralised squad on. The next few days will be interesting in the future of our club.

14 May 2012 00:33:49
call me crazy but i think we should sign Giuseppi rossi.

I know he will be out injured till like next april but he would be worth waiting for, especially at only 10M

If we were to sign him, he would be a good squad option to have and players like him dont usually become available for such a price. If we bought him, we could ease him in towards the end of next season after his injury, then for the 2013/2014 he would be like a new signing.

Knee injuries are tricky and risky. He has already reinjured his knee once, therefore the chance of recurrence is high (soft tissue injuries are strange...look at what happened to Ole Gunnar and Mellor). Plus he won't want to be playing with an iffy ACL in the EPL...not with rugby teams such as Stoke City there!

McAlien

You are crazy!

Yeah..you are crazy.

I've been away for a little while. I haven't missed a game though. As far as the season has gone for us, I'm going to try not to sound all doom and gloom. Many comments have been made and some silly comparison are being made with our past managers. It while I have been watching this season there have been only a few games that we have deserved to lose. Spurs away, city away, bolton away. We were not at the races in those games. On the main though we played some of the most attractive football since Rafa's 2008 team. I'm disappointed abou the results as much as anyone, but at least I never had to question whether our manager had our best interests at heart. I can also say that "the powers that be" also saw us as an up and coming power house before Christmas. But I'll say no more about that.

As far as transfer targets that we should be going for, I'll maintain the same stance as when I was last hear. I championed Junior Hoilett first on this site, he is a definite. I also scouted Moussa Dembele, still think this lad has a serious technical ability and has learned a lot from the premier league this season. I'd buy those two from premier league.

Outside I'd push everything to try and pull at the heart strings of Xabi. Failing that, I'd go for a slightly different type player but with equal abilities. They would be Ever Banega or Javi Martinez.

Upfront, a little more difficult as I'm not overly impressed with front men these days. Always loved Aguero. I still think we shouldn't stop the partnership developing between Andy and Luis. I would add Mauro Zarate as a squad player and impact off the bench and look to try to throw every spare penny at Gonzalo Higuian. I know it would be difficult. The variety, would get us Champions League and you would be surprised how far this squad of players could go with the belief they were going to actually be successful. As soon as they felt the title wasnt and option, and top four wasn't straight forward they lost belief in themselves.

So, Junior Hoilett, Moussa Dembele, Ever Banega/Javi Martinez, Mauro Zarate and Gonzalo Higuian. With the bonus signing of Xabi meaning one of the midfielders drop out.

Manager, I'm happy with the King having another go. But if he feels it's time to move upstairs, then for me. One man, Rafa Benitez.

Regards,
D-Day (1892)

Re-employing Rafa means slipping back to the days of long ball and negative tactics. No, thank you.

This nonsense about long ball football under Rafa has to stop. It's simply not true. Why continue to spout this rubbish.
Rafa played a tactical game and don't forget got us 84 points. This was done in spite of our pathetic owners at the time.
I used to be so proud of our fans being the most intelligent in the game. These new school fans are as clueless as their Manc counterparts.

Hi all another dissappointing season won't go into details but I think kennys time is up and I'd love martinez in. Don't understand kd, too defensive and why not give the young lads a go seeing as we're playing for nothing!?
On another note this isn't made up rubbish but I live on the next road to Diame (in Warrington!) And younger brother sometimes asks him to get match attacks so I'll send him round with one and ask while I'm there; see if I can find anything out! Will post if I do!

I agree fans need to get behind KK instead of behaving like fickle chelsea fans, In KK we trust.

Last time i checked they got rid of their manager and it worked

'Last time i checked they got rid of their manager and it worked'

------------------------------------------
No it hasn't! Chelsea old boys fearing the boot have just decided to play out their skins... The problem AVB was brought in to remedy is still there thanks to player power.

Worked for us last year too, but the same manager is apparently not good enough now?

But nah, it's impossible that something like that could happen to Di Matteo at Chelsea next season. Or Martinez with us next season if we go down that route.

If Kenny Daglish still retains the courage and integrity he once had then I think he can only follow one course of action. He should with immediate effect pack his bags clear his office and leave.

Kenny has proved to be yet another grave mistake on LFCs 20yr slide to obscurity.

Aguero roughly same cost as Carroll, wages higher but at least he has had a meaningfull impact. Kenny has emptied our coffers on players who are at best average.

No tactics no plan WHY DOES HE WANT TO BE MANAGER?

Just because Aguero cost the same as Carroll, doesn't mean we could have gotten him... Maybe Aguero didn't want to come, nor were we willing to give him 200k+ a week.

Aquero wanted to come and play with maxi and his father in law was in favour , aquero spends a lot of time in liverpool i once bumped into him when he was outside the sir thomas with maxi {Ed002's Note - There was no chance of Aguero joining Liverpool last year and no approach from Liverpool. Aside from the transfer fee, the wages being requested were beyond what any English club would or could pay.}

'20yr slide to obscurity'?? Where were you in 2005??

Is it just me or has Carroll improved immensely since February? his confidence seems to be key with his performances. I don't think he's quite £35 Million's worth yet but he's got a lot of football to play so he might well be.

If I was Hodgeson though I would consider him and I would take him ahead of Defoe or Crouch.

Unfortunately I would take Rooney, Welbeck, Holt and Bent. But Carroll should be in with a shout.

The Moon.

Nowhere near £35m, at best 10-15m, compared to what Newcastle got to replace him.

Carroll has improved he is now at a better level but that new level is not good enough. red mick tag

Did anyone see his over head kick yesterday? That just shows that his confidence is back if he's willing to try that.

I have been impressed with carrol's performances over the last couple of weeks, but he will never be a 35 million pound striker.

All footballers are replaceable. If a player wants to leave and we can re-coup our dosh or make a profit....so be it.
Fans idolise certain players and take it to heart when these mercenaries choose money over loyalty........Torres, Mascherano, Owen, Meireles, MacManaman etc., etc.
Let's not take it to heart if Suarez,Agger, Skirtel or Reina move on.
I'll be crucified for saying that none of these are irreplacable:
Suarez....scares the crap out of other teams but the Evra/Ferguson debacle and his lack of goals have made him sellable (£30-35m).
Agger.....Cultured,classy and reliable but made of fine bone-china. If he wasn't the injury-risk he is he'd be at the top of the tree in Global terms.
Skirtel......Very, very good last two years or so but without the superior Agger alongside him tends to lose direction. If he thinks he's outgrown Liverpool he's very welcome to give away penalties elsewhere.
Reina....I'm not convinced he wants to move back to Madrid given his kids and wife seem settled. However, if I had the chance, I'd move to Madrid (Just me?). If he does go he'll be remembered and fondly and missed. But his form of late has suggested he's not irreplacable either. I think a big hole would be left in the dressing-room though.
ANFIELDPETE

Agreed.

NO-ONE is irreplaceable - no player, no manager. And no one is bigger than the club.

But there replacement is near impossible to find and would cost tons.
