Got a little excited today when i heard were talking with
Mata
Hulk
And adam johnson over moves to lfc apparently they are pushing these three and negotiating . . {Ed002's Note - So Hulk signing a new contract will be a smokescreen.}
no its Porto making sure that they get most of the money from the sale of HULK, he is looking to move on as he has said he is interested in the EPL, Serie A and Bundesliga. so no not a smoke screen but a reasurance for both porto getting alot of money and hulk for getting more money.

Gr8 to hear but aguero had better get some sleep on the plane as he plays tomorrow and i never knew teams gave players medicals before they have played the final game for their club! still you know best m8 :) besides how will they fit into our formation?? kenny has plenty of selection trouble anyway with messi, ronaldo, sanchez, rooney, pele, george best, maradonna, and peter kay all looking to sign :)

- - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I said I meant their reps and who said Aguero was having a medical ?
- - - - - - - - - - - - - -
"Marveaux in for medical" not aguero marveaux he is still a rennes player and therefore can still play for rennes if in the unlikely event we have signed a pre-contract with him the transfer would be subject to a medical on the date (or very close) of the transfer not weeks before the transfer during which time he may pick up an injury whilst playing for his current club! as for aguero i would love to see him signed but i just don't see it happening as unless he is willing to take a wage cut we would have to pay him 300k per week just to be on par with what he receives at athletico this not only damages our wage bill but also (man city is a good example of this) players jealous of each others wage packets- there is alos the small matter of us already having 2-3 decent strikers and plenty waiting to come up from our youth system and the fact that if we did have a bid of 40m accepted then man city or chelski would put a bid of 50m+ in and we would be told to match it or discontinue talks with the player. .
whoever started this aguero rumour is probably laughing his f++++ing pants off at all the hysteria he has caused

Roy Hodgson is set to raid Liverpool in the summer by signing David Ngog and Paul Konchesky for a combined £7mil, as he tries to build a stronger squad to keep their premiership status next season. He will also look to sign Sotirios Kyrgiakos on a free transfer in the summer. My brother works for ITV as a camera man, he is quite good friends with Adrian Chiles and they talk football quite a bit.

Ed's any comment to make on augero rumour? Lfc r in advanced stages with aguero's agent, he has instructed his agent he wants to come to anfield, that's why his agent is a guest at tomz game.

Jimbob {Ed001's Note - his agent is Maxi's agent, he was coming to the game to talk over Maxi's future.}

Ed, do you know if we are going to sell Maxi??

{Ed002's Note - I am pretty sure that no one knows if Maxi is to be sold just yet. Nobody appears to be hawking him around which is a good sign.}

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Contract negotiation(Maxis and nothing to do with Ken), agents conduct those as well.I am not saying he wont/ will be sold ?pretty much explains his sudden good form:)

ED what do you think of Lavezzi, lukaku, navas, sakho.

And do you think we can put in a bid for krasic aqualani pluss cash.

{Ed002's Note - The players are to varying degrees decent players. Lukaku is young and completely unproven of course. Sakho would make a real nifty buy. I can't see why Krasic would be leaving.}

Tottenham could qualify for next season's Europa League regardless of whether they pip Liverpool to fifth place after the latest Fair Play table was announced by the Premier League today.

Chelsea top the list but have already secured Champions League football next season. Fulham are tied for second place with Spurs, who would take the additional European spot - expected to be awarded to an English club by UEFA - if they finished level courtesy of their higher League position.

The latest figures are up to April 30, since when, Fulham had five players booked in Monday's defeat to Liverpool while Spurs had three yellow carded against Blackpool on Saturday and only Steven Pienaar disciplined in last night's 1-0 loss against Manchester City at Eastlands.

Although Harry Redknapp insists Tottenham remain committed to finishing as high as they can in the League, there is a feeling at White Hart Lane that no European football would be a blessing in disguise as they look to regroup next season and qualify for the Champions League again.

But Redknapp's pre-season plans would be thrown into disarray should they secure a Europa League spot through the Fair Play table as the first qualifying match would take place on June 30, six weeks before the start of the League campaign.

sorry for the copy paste

How can you lose a cup final, and get a place in Europe, it just devalues the Europa league even more. The format is carp, and should be changed. Ross

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

This is nothing to do with Europa, its our FA that decided to grant a Europa spot to an FA runner up if the winner have a champions league spot, the idea to encourage clubs to play stronger squads in the competation, if you remember a couple of years back FA cup was heading the same way as the league cup, ie clubs playing their reserves.
With regard to the original question , spurs may get in through the fair play league, (they overtook fulham, why I am not surprised?).

Ed, just a quick note. . a while ago in an interview with 'Four Four Two' Comolli said that Andy Carroll was going to be our main target in summer until Torres left. Does this mean we will definitely be going in for another striker and play three up top ? Thanks a lot bud {Ed001's Note - no, it means that we had to have a change of plan with Torres forcing himself out.}

Financial Fair Play rules kick in this summer. Not sure why everyone thinks the clubs with sugar daddies are exempt because they are not. Yes - they can publish loses for the next 3 seasons but this is staggered downwards to break even in 2015. Any idiot can see whether they are within the rules or not so I'll be surprised and confused if things stay the same. This is why Torres left when he did - he knew Chelsea could not pay £50m for him in the summer and blow their entire budget on him then.

There are ways around these rules mate! different ways clubs can uprise profits, I.e chelsea by getting rid of high earners and replace them with hungry young players

There are ways wrong these rules one of my cousins was on about them i didn't take much notice though i thing that stuck in my head was raising corporate prices

mikelfc

- - - - - - - - - - - -

Sorry mate, I meant their reps. My apologies for any confusion. However Marveaux himself is here.

Mata and Aguero are interested in moves here, however Aguero's wage demands mean that he will have to take a pay cut if he was going to join us. Thats what makes City or Chelsea more likely at the moment, although he might be prepared to take a wage cut as he is supposedly a fan of LFC.

Gomez and Benzema are also targets, we are looking for a poacher to compliment Suarez and Carroll, so we have the option to play 3 up top. Carroll = Target Man, Suarez = Creator, Benzema/ Gomez = Finisher.

As many pundits denounced Manchester United s pedestrian march to their 19th title, Kopites of a certain age knew better, writes Brian Reade in the Daily Mirror.

"They're just doing enough. .getting the rub of the green. .jammy late goals. .not a patch on some of the previous teams. .going to get found out before the end. ."
Liverpudlians had heard those same words many times in the 1970s and 1980s, before seeing their side put on a sprint at the end which left their rivals dead and left them to focus on another European Cup Final.

The truth is, even though seeing United poised to take their record of English league titles hurts Liverpool fans like hell, they've anticipated it for some time, and were tiring of praying for miracles from Chelsea or Arsenal to help them maintain their historical supremacy.

Many veterans of those Seventies and Eighties campaigns even have a begrudging respect for their detested rivals' achievement.

Because they know what it takes to prove yourself the best in the land year after year: an extraordinary manager in charge of exceptional players who possess an insatiable appetite to win.

That was Liverpool when they took 11 titles in 17 years, and that has been United since Alex Ferguson won the first of his 11 titles (surely about to be 12), 18 years ago.

Yet although Kopites are resigned to United going ahead of them in title wins for the first time in history (they caught up on two, five, six, seven and 18 but have never won more) there is no mass depression suffocating Anfield.

There is no need, as you might have expected, for Samaritans to set up extra helplines on Merseyside.

In fact, it's doubtful there could have been a better time for Liverpool to be knocked off their perch.

Because there is a genuine belief that with decent owners, new players, a blossoming youth set-up, a new or revamped ground and Kenny Dalglish back in charge of playing football the right way, the good times are about to return.

The mauling of Fulham on Monday, or rather the manner of it, and the smiles in evidence all over the pitch, in the dugout and in the away end, suggest a togetherness and confidence not seen at Anfield for years.

The transformation since Dalglish's return has been nothing short of staggering.

No-one is getting carried away. There have been too many false dawns for that. The club is still a way behind United and only the wildest optimist believes it will be 19-19 in a year's time.

The shift is more subtle than that. It's in the psyche.

Suddenly, Liverpool aren't looking back to the old glory days but forward to new ones. Having the weight of history removed from the players' shoulders may just bring those days closer.

United are on the perch now. Time will tell if Liverpool get to knock them off it, but the motivation is now there.

They're not relying on outsiders to do them favours to stop United going past them domestically, because they've gone past.

All that matters now is focusing on lifting themselves up to their rivals' marker, the way Ferguson has done for two decades.

The past belonged to Liverpool, the present to United.

But the future is up for grabs.

Various People Around Kenny, Damien & Co. have revealed to me that Sir King Kenny Daglish The 1st will be given 100M + to spend on 5 additions to the squad.

It Has also been said Kenny knows which area's he wants to strengthen and has an idea on who he wants to sign.

I have also been told that all the signings will be to improve the 1st team, and no where else, Kenny is more than happy to rely on the likes of Flanagan and Robinson and the rest of the youth to back up our 11

Stay Tuned For More,

Danny

Ed can you pls answer this question?

If liverpool finish 5th do we get europa league spot?

How can tottenham get a place? And stoke?

Lfcjohnynwa {Ed001's Note - if we finish 5th we are definitely in the Europa League. There is confusion over whether the runners up in the FA Cup will get the usual FA Cup winners place or whether it will go to 6th place in the league. Everywhere I look is giving a different answer, so I personally am going to wait and see, but usually it would go to Stoke, though every other country in Europe would award the place to 6th in the league.}

14 May 2011 20:26:22
I guess the reason people are so worried about who we will sign is based on the mistakes of our previous owners & management. Stop worrying. Just look at FSG's track record. Look what they did with The Red Sox & how they cleared our debt. Fergie & Wenger are sure we will be challenging for the title next season & so is Pepe Reina. That is because they are sure about our management team & believe we will sign the right players

ED where is everyone getting these aguero rumours from? {Ed001's Note - I have no idea, I don't know why they have started up again.}
ED is it true his agent is at Melwood?

BenYNWA {Ed001's Note - like I said earlier his agent is the same as Maxi's, he is regularly in town.}

Can anyone tell me what aguero's agent looks like so i can spot him?? Also i hope the commentators make a deal out of him being there, then i will start to have a tiny bit of belief that it might be true! Until then i think it is pure rubbish!

Why the hell r sky showing the meaningless game between arsenal an Aston villa tommorrow instead of the 5th place decider at anfield, surely they would have realised the liverpool match would have had a bit more riding on it at this stage of the season!

Sort it out sky {Ed002's Note - Perhaps not - it looks like Spurs are going to get in to the Europa League in any case.}

How come, do Stoke not the other place {Ed001's Note - according to Sky the place goes to Stoke, but UEFA's website suggests the place goes to 6th place in the league.}

14 May 2011 19:45:45
Not really a rumour as such but does the Man City FA cup win mean that 6th place is good enough to qualify for Europe.
Also Ed do you feel that splashing 25 million plus on players like Mata or Aguero will be beneficial in the long term or like me do you feel that we would better off spending 60 million or 5 or 6 quality young players who will help the Club sustain success over a number of years. {Ed001's Note - no Stoke have the place and no, I don't think we need that many players.}

Ashley Young deal has been brokered by Mr Henry himself, he had a couple of face to face meetings with Randy Lerner 1 in January and once in April, We had a gentlemens agreement in January & we have continued talks since, We've always maintained that Young prefers us over the Spam, Werner did not just come over to rubberstamp kenny's contract but to have a final meeting with Lerner. Young was easy to negotiate with and we had an unofficial deal struck earlier this year.

Aguero deal is currently as we left it in Jan where we know how much Atletico want and how much Aguero would require in wages. .as we left it all parties were happy a deal can be done and talks are planned for the 1st week in june.

A word of caution: we do expect City, Chelsea, AC Milan&Valencia will jump in but we remain confident.

Lennon is moving and the talks of a swap involving Joe Cole are credible. .

Enrique deal is ready to go if we choose to take it.

Cahill deal has stalled slightly but we feel its his agent waiting to see if a bigger payday is in the offing. .we'll be patient but won't wait too long.

Marin rumour IMHO is rubbish and i've maintained we went to Bremen to discuss a defensive player. Marin would prefer Spurs apparently.

Phil Jones talks won't go away however this is a fall back option not a primary target.

Gervinho is a confirmed target and talks took place this week they were said to be positive. .he asked his fellow ivorian Didier Dogbreath who told him to jump at the chance to join us. .this transfer has legs.

Word i have is that Jay Spearing has saved us £15m in the transfer market with his performances alongside Lucas so take that however you like but its a great boost for Jay.

Honda rumour is just that IMHO although heavily linked last summer&in Jan it seems this has gone cold.

Izaguirre, Kayal Celtic have told us to do one in no uncertain terms. . now that Jay has proved himself Kayal deal is dead. .Izaguirre still has some way to go.

McCarthy/ Adam that seems to be the choice, both players would like to join and Adam deal is ready to go, however King Kenny loves McCarthy as a player so its all about the managers decision.

Shane Long: Confirmed we made an enquiry and were quoted £5-6m, as it stands we've not gone back to this.

Mata: I have personally not seen enough recently to suggest we're chasing as hard as the press are stating. .certainly there is interest but its tepid as it stands today. Obviously other credible sources are running with this but as far as i know its tepid interest.

Hazard: Has no interest in us and there has been a slight falling out with DC over this as KD only wants players commited to LFC&feels DC is wasting time. .This has now been called off.

Coentrao: There was/ is genuine interest however his agent is looking for a massive payday & City are expected to step in.

Diego Perotti: This is utter rubbish. Agent talk rehashed from last summer. we've moved on since then.

Phil Jones: We are at Blackburn today so the interest is genuine, no approach has been made as yet.

On a side note Daniel Agger is available for transfer if we get a bid of over £10m he's gone. It's a crying shame but we need a squad that can be relied on to perform over a season not just 4 or 5 games.

If i have missed anyone please let me know and i'll do what i can to respond.

Please remember i do not profess to being 100% correct. .although i'm doing ok so far this year.

YNWA.

Report from YDaphus which I read and thought I'd share.

Hi eds great website. Ed do you believe that we are in for Sergio Aguero. Because to me it does not make sense. We paid 30million for Andy Carrol just to be a benchwarmer. That does sound like liverpool.

Cheers
Omar1997

{Ed002's Note - There has been interest from Liverpool over the years. Chelsea and Manchester United have been unable to put a package together and it strikes me that if he leaves Atletico Madrid it will be to Real Madrid or to Juventus. The price will be around £38M-£40M plus fees and obviously the "package". Juventus are trying to put together something now - maybe they will get their number one target. We should get someone who will be at the game tomorrow to ask him to confirm his move to Liverpool. I fear this may be the work of KopTalk or some equally valid source.}

Hey today has really hurt you boys. The United site is full of your pathetic rants about us. It is now obvious that Manchester is the centre of the football as well as music world. And to see one of your own in owen celebrating so much must make you sick. Convince yourself that dogleash will make a difference when it is Steve Clarke that is making any difference at all. Eds is this rumour of aguero being in the game with spurs tommorow true?

{Ed002's Note - I guess we all need to wait and see. I guess a fee has been agreed and they are going to let him off attending Atletico's match tomorrow - which is really nice of them.}

Ed002, Remember DC put a bid of 12.9m of Suarez as the opening offer. And you didn't know about that. Also we have put a paltry bid in for Matuidi which has also been laughed off. {Ed002's Note - That's right, I know nothing. What time will Neymar be arriving tomorrow?}

The 3rd striker we will sign to provide cover and options for us is gabby agbonlahor. He is young, will represent value for money and premier league proven. Fee in the region of £11m.

Willster

I would argue that he is hardly "proven" as you say at Premier League level. I believe he is an example of too much too young. Also £11m would be ridiculous.

Ed- we have already got rid of El Sulk (who was one of the top earners on $100K) if we can sell Cole ($90K) + couple of others like Jova and Aquilani, maybe even Maxi, won't that pay for Aguero's supposed $200K a week salary? (please tell us it's plausible!) SingRed

{Ed002's Note - So none of the money went to pay the wages of Suarez or Carroll? I don't think it is anything like as simple as you think - but knock yourself out.}

Who in your opinion/ inside info will be our marquee signing in the summer?
I hope it is not Young! I think Adam Johnson is a better player and better value given his age.
Wot do you guys think?
NiRed {Ed002's Note - I am not sure what you mean by a "marquee" signing per se or why you are expecting one. It would be guesswork to figure out who the most expensive signing would be and, therefore, a pointless exercise. I am sure there will be some good players coming in.}

Ed, do you know if Liverpool has raised their total wage budgt? I have only just realised that by selling Aqua, Cole, Degen, Poulsen, Jovanovic, Konchesky, Kyrgiakos and N gog we will save around £400,000 a week on wages. That would become £525,000/ 550,000 if we decide to sell Agger and Maxi. Having this sort of money available (which may be more know the new ownership) will really help bring in the right players. {Ed002's Note - Any players coming in will suck that money up pretty quickly. I think you may have found a red herring here.}

West Brom are preparing a renewed approach for Liverpool striker David Ngog.

The Frenchman was the subject of a season-long loan approach from the Baggies at the beginning of this season, then under Roberto Di Matteo, but a move failed to materialise.

With Ngog expected to become one of several players deemed surplus to requirements at Anfield this summer, Roy Hodgson is keen on a reunion with the 22-year-old at the Hawthorns, having used him regularly during his short-lived tenure as Kop boss.

Following the arrival of Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll in the previous transfer window, Ngog has been limited to just two starts under Kenny Dalglish, both of which came in the Europa League ties against Sparta Prague, and a handful of substitute cameos.

His last start in the Premier League came during a 3-1 defeat at Blackburn at the beginning of January - a game which ultimately sealed Hodgson's fate as Reds boss.

ha ha! hodgson is a bloody idiot isn't he! why on earth would anyone want ngog, let alone us having to have him! accrington stanley is the place for him. .

Lots of talk about how much we'll spend in the summer. Remember 1 thing, (net) we spent zero in January! And as part of John Henry's business plan they had to put aside a transfer budget to address the "poor squad". KK has worked his magis on the poor squad, and that budget is still available so don't be surprised to see 50-60 million net spend on new (the right) players. So can we afford the likes of Hulk, Mata and Benzema. . . ofcourse we can.

PS. . . Canny wait till next season.

I would like to say Congratulations to Man Utd for winning their 19th league title.
For 20 yrs we have not won it and yet they are only ONE ahead. 20yrs it has taken for them to catch up and go ONE ahead!.
Now is not the time to be concerned with Man Utd taking our record, now is the time for us, LFC, to stand firm behind our King. to stand together as he leads us back to the glory days that we have been missing all these years. Now it is time for us, the LFC family to take back our perch and re write the history books. it won't take us 20yrs to overtake Man Utd.
So let them waffle their arrogant tripe, let them gloat, let them behave like the imbeciles we know they are. . for we, LFC supporters will have the last laugh!

I see us being linked with all and sundry, players for £50 mil down to £2 mil and to be honest all i have to interject is this.

Yes we may have the funds for the odd £50 superstar, but I would prefer with KK in charge we go back to how we did things in the past.

I mean, who had heard of people like John Aldridge, Ray Houghton, Ronnie Whelan etc before they was bought / came through. Not superstar names but can we doubt their quality after all these type of players did for us. May not set the world alight when they signed, but certainly became legends during their time, and have we always prided ourselves on finding the talent rather than buying it like citeh or chavski?

We all want results fast but I think we need to err on the side of caution and not do a Leeds UTD, buying everything in site then going down qithin 2 seasons never to be seen again.

In regards to "Money Ball". I run a large business (£240 M Turnover) and the poster is absolutely correct.

My only comment would be that for the true principle of money ball to work there has to be significant success in the field (In this case Prem & CL).

The best way to make money ball work is to kickstart with a big investment which gives quick success and means you attract better young players earlier giving better returns and you win more prize money.

I would expect an extra investment of around £40 M plus that stated before leaving us between £75 and £95 M to spend in the Summer depending on sales.

Cheers

Liverpool are expected to perform a squad clearout this summer.

The Daily Mail says Reds chiefs Kenny Dalglish and Damien Comolli will oversee a clear out that will include Paul Konchesky, Christian Poulsen, Milan Jovanovic and possibly even Joe Cole and Daniel Agger.

One man who will not be leaving, though, is goalkeeper Pepe Reina, who has ended talk about his future by revealing the lift Dalglish's appointment has given him.

"I am looking forward to next season, " said Reina, who was wanted by Arsenal. "There was a bit of doubt back in December and January but we are heading in the right direction now."

sorry mate but firstly kuyt is a far better striker than he is a winger and you must be blind or daft if you think otherwise look at our recent results. always played as more of a right forward for feyenoord and was prolific for them then rafa had the bright idea to dump him on the wing, torres' first season here most his goals was down to kuyts hard work then next season he's on the wing with gerrard playing off torres which worked to be fair but we never got the best out of kuyt, now we've got a proper manager kuyt is on fire, maybe not getting as many goals as others but his workrate for the team is only equalled by suarez.

secondly carroll has had a great first half to the season and looked good for us when played considering he's been coming back from injury so i've no doubts he'll come good he's only a kid in footballing terms for a striker at 22.

and thirdly use a spell check mate or atleast get your mum to proof read it for you!, my spelling and punctuation leaves a lot to be desired but you spelt 6 words wrong including the two players names you was commenting/ criticising.

people need to forget players like hulk, we won't have the sort of funds needs to strengthen all the positions we need to with that calibre of player. and your saying carrolls untested at this level hulks never played in the prem fullstop (not that doubt he'd be able to adjust).

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp reveals his scouts urged him to ignore Luis Suarez when he was available from Ajax.

Suarez has been a revelation since his January arrival at Liverpool.

"We kept looking at [Su rez] but people thought he couldn't play up as a striker, " said Redknapp.

"They said he's like Rafa [van der Vaart] and you can't have him and Rafa or you'd have two players who want to drop deep, so that was the problem. We were looking for someone to play up front with Rafa. People said he couldn't do that, he drifts and comes deep. But he played up front on his own the other night [against Fulham on Monday] and he was fantastic."

Letter of optimism

Letter to King Kenny. . . from my wife

Dear Mr./ Sir/ King Kenny Dalglish

I am writing to you to "fix it for me" to have my husband's heart & undivided attention back please. It's been missing since 8th January 2011, the date you were appointed caretaker manager at LFC. Granted, despite the dodgy tracksuits, you're not Jimmy Saville but I thought I'd give it a shot cause since this date the following changes have taken place;

My husband has regressed back to childhood and no longer talks, he now shouts excitedly punctuating every 2nd sentence with 'Dalglish'.
He has taken up five-a-side footy (at the age of 34) in the desperate belief his life long dream of training with you at Anfield will now come true (seriously! )
He no longer sits down to watch LFC matches - he stands two inches away from the telly talking animatedly to the players and to you. . you can hear him right? Well the neighbours 5 doors down can.
He religiously follows all levels of LFC football so every morning I awake to a story about you & LFC, the team, fixtures, injuries, statistics, antidotes, quotes, photos, trivia, the youth players etc. . . and again each evening without fail. Without fail.
He mentions your name more than mine. . (that's a tough one to swallow I have to admit)
Since your return his dream of scoring the winning goal to lift the Premiership title for LFC has returned, so at night I endure the dreaming, the tossing & turning and the kicking - I have the bruises to prove it.
He joined Twitter to follow you & all things LFC related. This wouldn't have been a big deal only I work in Social Media and spent the previous year trying to get him on Twitter with no success. One word got him on @kennethdalglish (he's @cookiedub1 in case you want to tell him to put on the 1986 kit he still has & join the team!)
And lastly when asked what his happiest memory was, he smiled broadly with emotion welling up in his eyes and proudly announced . . . .your appointment as caretaker manager of LFC . . . eh we were only recently married at the time!

So Kenny I'm a realist there's probably no chance he's going to change, he's LFC to the core. It appears that at the altar he failed to mention there's another bird I'll be sharing him with for life - the Liver Bird. The only thing I ask is that you don't break his heart, you sign a permanent contract, get knighted and keep doing what you're doing because despite all of the above you've taken 20 years off him already & given me endless weekends away shopping in Liverpool!

wat about gaston ramirez to us? {Ed002's Note - Inter have offered to loan Coutinho to Bologna as part of the Gaston Ramirez deal.}

Surely inter could get their man then just call coutinho back from loan?

{Ed002's Note - I don't understand your point. You are suggesting Inter just start screwing other clubs around?}

A question to the Ed, s re. DC and his working/ business relationships with agents, due to his role needing to engage these people are you aware of any agents he has closer working relations with than others? If so the players with a particular agent/ agency may.be easier to acquire? {Ed002's Note - I am afraid it does not work like that. If Liverpool are going to target players based on who their agent is as opposed to what they can bring to the squad then they will be in real trouble very quickly.}

Where does Marko Marin play??? All I know he is left footed and very small and skillful. Is he a out and out winger or his he a Messi type player just floats about.

Hi Ed, a bit out of left field here but what do you think of Santi Cazorla? Can play on either flank. Could he be good enough?

Chris in Tamworth {Ed002's Note - He is a decent enough player, but there is no interest I am aware of.}
**********************
Corzola is very skillful, but not got a lot of pace and is quite a little fella. Not sure he is what we need.

If I was DC - A. Johnson, Coentrao & Sissoko and we will challenge for EPL next year. Nomatter what it costs.

But in the real world I think Young/ Mata/ Marin, Enrique (who I don't rate at all) and Sissoko/ McCarthy is more likely.

How true are these rumours on Hulk wants to come to prem?

Apparently stating he wants to challenge for titles.

spurs, liverpool, newcastle interested.

Source - BBC

well out of those 3 we are the only team with any chance of winning the title. (My opinion)

Would be a great signing.

What u reckon eds?

Big G {Ed002's Note - I doubt he would want to start on the bench - which means a front three, which means no wingers in midfield. It just does not seem to work for me.}

Liverpool have not agreed any deals for summer transfers at present (with the possible exception of marvauex) however, have begun talking to agents and 'sounding out' potential targets. Obviously the full-time appointment of King Kenny will allow negotiations to proceed with his final approval (there's no point in signing players a manager doesn't want). Interestingly, although Daglish's appointment was decided a number of weeks ago, the announcement and official signing were delayed to coincide with the last home fixture and the launch of the new away kit.

A number of players are on Damien Comolli's radar after an extensive spring of scouting and deliberations with the owners over the funds available and type of player (age, resale value, marketing potential and nationality). Areas of the squad that have been identified for improvement are the wings and left back, with potential interest in a young centre back with a view to replacing Carragher and possible interest in a versatile back up striker, although if the right player is available, for a different position, a deal could be struck.

As has been documented, contact has been made with Juan Manuel Mata's through his father (who is also his agent) over a possible move to Anfield however there are complications due to interest from several other parties, not just from the premier league, and the player s willingness to leave Spain and La Liga. The Ashley Young situation is well documented and the emergence of Marko Marin as a target indicates clearly where the priority lies in strengthening the squad. It remains to been seen who is the preferred choice of DC and KD and also which deal is viable. Reports of a deal for Newcastle full back Enrique are also premature, although there is considerable interest from the Anfield management. Recruitment of young players/youth players will also be an important goal in the summers transfer window.

Departures will obviously depend on the value of any offer with the most likely departures to be Janovic and Poulsen. Alberto Aquilani is also likely to remain in Italy however Juventus have yet to agree a fee with the club. KD is and admirer of the Italian playmaker but he player s reluctance to return to Anfield will probably prevent a reunion. Joe Cole will likely be another high profile exit due to his significant salary and lack of impact this season.

Can we make Harry "Slippery Eel" Redknapp have the biggest nightmare ever and ensure Spurs receive the most hostile atmosphere known to man ! ! ! ! ! !

My post has been posted on rumour page. . y Ed. . post was bout initial bid for Marko Marin. .

Red for life {Ed002's Note - Your post was potentially misleading and contained at least one statement that was simply not true. Werder Bremen answered questions about Marin at a news conference stating that they were aware that that Liverpool had enquired about the players availability with Damjanac but there had been no direct contact with the club. It was stated that the player has to focus on the tasks in hand until the season is complete. Your post effectively amounts to suggesting that Liverpool have been tapping a player up and that an illegal offer has been made. You will appreciate that we do not want to go in that direction. Liverpool may well make a formal approach for the player of course.}

Morning reds, eds, red eds
More transfer rumours today. Looks like the English teams are gonna spend big, or are being asked to by their continental counterparts.
Eds, what's the tv revenue of clubs in Italy, Germany etc compared to EPL ?
Are we getting mugged here, or are we loaded in relative terms?
Ta. KB

{Ed002's Note - It is difficult to compare - in Spain two clubs have their own deals which give them a significant return (about £125M each); in Italy TV revenue is higher but matchday revenue lower (Inter Milan get about £80M per year from television); in Germany and England it is the other way around (Bayern get around £45M per year, Chelsea top the EPL with £57M last year and the minimum in the EPL was about £38M). Ticket prices are higher in England and that compensates of course. All in all it evens itself out pretty much. The big difference comes with Champions League football of course. Looking at overall turnover Liverpool are 8th world-wide and turning over 50% more than Manchester City in 11th. I hope this helps.}

Letter of optimism

Letter to King Kenny. . . from my wife

Dear Mr./ Sir/ King Kenny Dalglish

I am writing to you to "fix it for me" to have my husband's heart & undivided attention back please. It's been missing since 8th January 2011, the date you were appointed caretaker manager at LFC. Granted, despite the dodgy tracksuits, you're not Jimmy Saville but I thought I'd give it a shot cause since this date the following changes have taken place;

Your sincerely

Not a rumour but quick question. Say Man City were to win the FA CUp today. What happend to the Europa League place for that? I though the runner up of the cup no longer got into Europe in England and it went to next position in the League, i.e Spurs at present. Does this mean that if Citty do win we are in Europa regardless?

{Ed002's Note - No, Stoke go in as runners up. Liverpool will likely get in in 5th - they must be favourites now and Spurs may well get in as the highest placed team in the Fair Play league. If Spurs do beat Liverpool to fith it will likely give the FP place to Fulham.}

14 May 2011 08:16:50
Who is marco marin ed? is he any good? {Ed002's Note - It is Marko Marin and he is tipped to be pretty nifty in the future.}

14 May 2011 07:17:41
These are the players I would sign this summer.

Marko Marin (LW)
Eden Hazard (RW)
Fabio Coentrao (LB)
Sakho (CB)
Phillippe Coutinho (Wing/ Attacking Midfield)
Sergio Aguero (FWD)
Alexis Sanchez (RW)

All young talented players who work work well at Liverpool.

Also keep Aquilani at Liverpool.

Believable if you like.

MONEY BALL.

Very well though out sound argument. However you must remember new owners usually spend more first time round, in January FSG wanted to buy Suarez as a gift to the club, then Torres was sold and we pretty much broke even.

I would concur with the costings and likely mould of players, but I expect a signing of around £20m in addition, maybe Benzema, Mata or Marin.

Remember rich men are very vain and Dalglish has got most of the credit for the turnaround, hence the reason why FSG will try and endear themselves to the fans by bringing a marquee player along with the unproven / internation fringe players we are currently being linked with.

Just a point of info required . . . . .What does Sammy Lee actually do ? We know what Steve Clarke has done and what Sir Kenny has done but what is Sammy'y role ( yes, his title is Assistant Manager and I am not doubting his undoubted committment to LFC but it is KK and SC who have turned things around or am I being harsh here ??)

I would be grateful for people's comments ( I am not anti-Sammy By the way ! )

"Liverpool will be galvanised next season I am sure of that.

"Kenny has signed a three-year contract that settles the club down and there will be plans.

"It just makes it more interesting next year. It has become tighter and tighter.

"We have spoken for years about the big four but teams like Tottenham have not got back into the Champions League this year and they have had a fantastic season.

"It is going to be really difficult next year."

I think I may prefer Hulk to Falcao simply because Falcao as far as I can tell always plays centrally whereas Hulk often players on the right. Considering that Carroll is an out and out central striker, I think getting someone who has played out tothe right and in the middle makes more sense.

14 May 2011 01:59:32
WAR HAS JUST BEEN DECLARED ON THE LIVERPOOL NATION!

Definition of War: A state of open, usually armed, and prolonged conflict between two parties, nations or states over a controlling interest. This Saturday, Manchester United take on Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park. With a win or a draw, United will claim their 12th Premier League title and their 19th overall English First Division title. That same result would leap frog Liverpool's long held record, surpassing our mark of 18 First Division titles. Make no mistake my friends, WAR has been declared.

When two parties engage in War, they fight for a controlling interest. In this case, that interest is the Premier League title and the record overall lead in First Division football. In the military structure there are levels of command and responsibility. Each role has duties to carry out and someone above them to answer to. Thankfully we were able to remove the old regime and bring in the new Commander in Chief FSG, headed by Mr. John Henry. Below him is his advisory cabinet members Damien Comolli and Ian Ayre respectively. Now with our recently signed "General" Kenny Dalglish, I believe we have the correct command to wage this war successfully.

Whether a war is won or lost I believe its because of its leadership and tactics, not because of the troops on the ground. It is my belief we are now properly equipped with the staff and finance needed to finally fight back against United's machine of dominance. They laid their claim over the last twenty years but with our new leadership, the winds of change are blowing. The greatest thing about our recent upgrades in my opinion is FSG. With Mr. Henry being the passionate man he is, he answered to us. . listening to our calls, educating himself to our club's history and standards of excellence. What's more, instead of waiting until the proverbial "Next Year", Mr. Henry and his team went to work almost immediately bringing in major changes during January. A loud and powerful signal to the LFC faithful that good things were on the way. Signing Steve Clarke for three years was brilliant as well. Full credit for his tireless work with the first team. His work is on display each time we take the field. Each time I think about the upcoming summer, I want to stand up and shout with aggression. The pride and strength has been restored in all facets of LFC, including its supporters. Prior to January, I'd watch the games with caution and fear. Today I find myself clenching every muscle in my body with powerful pride as I expect my team to destroy who's in front of them. I stand in front of my television in full kit, ferocious and ready for battle. I have FSG, Dalglish, and Luis Suarez to thank for restoring that for me.

We must remember that as fans we have our role as well. It is our job to support the team no matter the result. It is our job to sing, cheer, and shout as loud as we can to show the world: We are together in this journey. We are LFC. And GOD DAMN IT, we're coming to take back what is ours! !

To the next twenty years!

Blair Mayne YNWA

Ps. Just put this on the Manc site. Hope you enjoyed it as much as me.

Ed do you think we may try to get Hulk. strong guy will fit in EPL and price also good {Ed001's Note - I am not entirely sure, we are certainly interested in at least one player from Porto, I am just not sure who. Though I would personally say Falcao would be a better buy in my opinion.}

14 May 2011 00:24:16
Ok we are looking to strengthen our central midfield places 1st and there are two talents would join LFC:

*Ryan Shawcross: whats an amazin leader (young and British) hes so great defenser, strong and that what we need.

*Phil Jones :Strong , would certainly be likely to cost in the double figures of millions but at just 19 years of age, could potentially marshal a defence for the next dozen years.
Still has plenty to learn of course, but the talent and mentality is certainly there.
We are also try to sign:1 RB and 1 LB (some names):
Baines
Enrique
Clitchy
Adriano
Then we will try to make our midfield so great with Stevie Gerrard with the help of Meireles, lucas, Spearing, but we will buy 2 midfields:
Lassana Diarra
M, villa
Adams
Parker
Marin
Barry

Moreover, we will sign at least 2 wingers and 1 CF
Afellay
Young
Lennon
Elia
Elmander
Bojan

I for one am delighted at the fact so many Manchester UTD fans are visiting these pages. .
They are 1 point away from winning the best league in the world (IMO) and they are more interested in whats going on at Anfield. .
This surely a very good sign that they are looking nervously over their shoulders. At least that's how I see it. .I'm pretty sure none of us bother going over there and wasting time posting garbage (well maybe the odd 12yo but they don't count :))
