I read a lot of posts saying that we will miss out on 4th. Is that the height of our ambitions - I don't think so! On 11th January last season FOUR of today's team took part: Reina, Johnson,Skrtel and Kuyt. Five of the others starters have been sold and another (Lucas) is out injured. I don't think (or expect) a team to gel straight away. I get as frustrated (and to be honest, angry) when things don't go as we would like but we have to be patient. Remember that in the squad that day were Konchesky, Poulsen, N'gog,Jovanovic,Babel, Torres. Getting rid of that lot (except the last one) must be considered a great success. The only real problems that I have a the poor use of substitutes (brought on too late!) and the lack of youth on the bench. I really do believe that it is time for some of the younger players to be introduced. Carragher (?),Kuyt,Aurelio, and Maxi have served Liverpool well but it is time for them to step down - we have to go forward and the use of Kuyt and Carragher today was for me a step backwards. We were so bad today that we couldn't even hit the post! My wife always says to me "Why do you watch if they're so bad?" I always say I saw them through the good times so I'll see them through the bad because I believe that the bad times won't last for much longer. We are playing rubbish but we are not all that far behind the teams that are being brilliant - think about it.

If Newcastle pip us to 6th this season would you then agree that it has been a carp season?

I know this is controversial but wtf has happened to the SPIRIT of the team. I keep seeing the horrors of other team fans coming on here and baiting us, but we can't say for a minute that we have not desereved being where we are, really the league cup! Yes we're in the FA cup but we cannot remain like this, too too many years of hope and to have it thrust down our throats like this pains me.

I honestly wonder about the motivation around the club, it's not there on the field. FSG, what is the KD exit strategy (retaining at least some dignity) there needs to be a line in the sand. Spiralling springs to mind, unless that is we have the nuts to legally challenge the validity and questionability of the independent panel (yes eds I've read it all too and it is very much mootable) but would cause a sh1t storm that would make the initial process look like a primary school tea party.

My point it that 'we' demanded KD, we need to know that there is a route beyond now.

Not a rumour but I said on LFC TV the other night that we needed a striker or two. I think I speak on behalf of all the fans when I say that we must either buy or loan in goalscorers or our season will be over! This is so incredibly frustrating. 10 dropped points at home againts teams of that standard is not acceptable. Great site and keep up the good work

Dont speak on behalf of me, I have faith in KK and LFC

wow, 12 months ago Liverpool were on 25 points after 21 games.Today they sit on 35 points! 12 months ago Torres had just left, Carroll had just arrived-neither has benefited from their club change but just remember that Torres was not setting the premiership on fire towards the end of his time at Liverpool.New owners,a new manager ,a new coach and lots of new, young players, a new team needing time to gell.Throw in the odd injury to key players,Gerrard, Leiva et al. and then the loss of Suarez to an 8 match ban, then all of a sudden it looks like a minor miracle that liverpool are sitting in the position they are.Spearing injured has not helped either.Honestly, control your expectations.Look at how much money City have spent, it just does not guarantee anything. One minute you love Kenny after a win at city, the next minute you want his blood.Scitzophrenic is the only way to discribe sports fans but realistic expectation should be the drug of choice right now!!

And plenty of patience... The #1 requirement for a LFC fan nowadays it seems. This together with 'we building' or 'next season we will be there' which are the std catch phrases we live by.

Bad match, but I am still behind KK.

A few weeks back last year (hodgson in December) I was looking up championship clubs and working out where would make a good weekend trip...

Keep the faith, we're not creating because we have no one to create for. There are individuals playing with visibly low confidence and we're crying out for a spark of energy - one we nearly had with Suarez and Gerrard back... Have some patience and hope that we get someone capable in the transfer window, or that a couple of individuals lift us.

I dont doubt LFC staff can see how great servants Carra and Kuyt are now past it, I think their consideration to play is in kindness/respect and to get a run out before moving on or stopping. equally I feel that we're having to use two players to cover when one great one sits out - Agger for example today and I am sure we're doubling up Adam and Gerrard for Lucas (neither player quite fits the role like he did, albeit he only got there with time, patience and perserverance.)

Get behind the club, not just the team you see on the pitch. Suarez has half a month left to sit out, I forsee him coming back with a debt to be paid and a point to prove. KK is one piece away from a jigsaw and as soon as individual players pick up a bit of confidence things should help to fall into place.

I was a big fan of Torres - as documented on here - I suspect if we still had him, things would be very different now... but he put us in this position, and its still on his shoulders. He wont come back, and I dont think LFC would want him quite rightly. If KK could go back and keep him though, im sure he would - but I am also sure Carroll would have continued to work well for newcastle, or be elsewhere - theres no point talking about what could have been/ wasting money.

Its the first full season for rebuilding, get behind them, how long did it take Lucas to come good? Took Downing more than one season at Villa too... Give them (all of LFC/the owners/the manager/the coaches/the players) time, support and be proud of the club. Things will come good...

5 points off fourth, Gerrard fit, Suarez back soon, still possible to win cups and financially stable.

YNWA

I think that just about covers all of what I've wanted to say to people on here for a while.

So, I am told today, "King Kenny" brought off Downing, a winger, and replaced him with Carroll, who needs service from a winger!

You cannot make this up!

I love "King Kenny" with every passing day.

A complete fiasco when dealing with the Suarez issue, he spends 35m on a striker who does not suit Liverpool's style of play, and 48m on Downing, Henderson, and Adam who are clearly not good enough to elevate Liverpool to a top 4 team.

Do yourselves a favour, do a straight swap Carroll for Ba, it could make the difference...simples!

Please keep "King Kenny", but if someone notices his incompetence and he has to go, please, please bring back Rafa!!!

Sir Alex x

Tbh i havttbhave not seen downing put in one decent ball all season. Hendo and adam are great signings! They work hard for our team! Everyone can have a tough game!

You do tickle me slur Alex. You manage to stop the rot of 3 league defeats on the spin against bottom of the league and your back on here.
Remind me where you've been the last few weeks, on a winter break?
Come back after the next round of the cup or have you booked another holiday just in case?....saddo check that your stone is still available to crawl back under before your next league defeat.
ALB.

As much as you love LFC you have already been outed as an Everton fan, Sir Alex x. I don't blame you for loving Liverpool but you know you would get teased by your friends (both of them) if you switched allegiences now.

Is it fair to call his mum and dad his friends ? maybe they don't want to be associated with him.

Poor Kenny!
When you came back you knew that you could lose everything! But you came back to help YOUR club! this clib is you and needs you!
I'm so ashamed to read some of the comments here! Can you imagine Kenny, some a*s*o*e* here want to sack you!
For GOds sake guys, this man loves this club more then all of us together!
f*** off guys, go and support what ever club you want, you don't deserve to call yourselves Liverpool supporters.

We have really got to calm down about this season, who in their right minds thought we would achieve anything higher than 5th, 4th if were lucky ! The teams above us have had the same core team of players for years. Unfortunately we are going through the transition like we did when Houllier took and like we did when Rafa took over ! Talk fo Kenny going is ridiculous, we need to be patient d hope the team clicks sooner rather than later. I do believe we need to strangthen in this window but as we know you over pay for players ( i.e Andy Carroll/Fernando Torres ) but remember you can also underpay ( i.e. Luis Suarez ) lets see what January brings and you never know we could finish the season like we did last year.

I've been saying this for a while now but I'll say it yet again & hope it gets posted...
We don't need to sign a goal scoring striker, we need to sign two goal scoring strikers who are in form right now & probably who are either not European or their country hasn't qualified for The Euros this summer.
This HAS to happen NOW!
I'd say bye bye to Aurelio & Kuyt - thanks for your years of service but time to move on.
Finally, I'd try to go get in a pacy right winger who can give a DECENT cross.
Surely this is not too much to expect.
It needs to happen now in the next 14 days or I'm telling ya now we can kiss goodbye to 4th.
Cheers,
Anonymous Red.

Let's be realistic, 4th is prob gone already. We need to keep improving, not play again like yest (team, tactics, formation etc) and end up comfortable in 6th just behind the London clubs. If we tail off and end up 10 to 15 points off 5th or even worse 7th/8th then the season will be a disgrace.

Good result today boys top four further away than it has ever been!

Good job "king kenny" as you call him is in charge otherwise you would be all calling for his head with buys like caroll downing and hendo what three bad buys they were.

Sixth place you are now and sixth place is were you will be at the end of the season. Enjoy boys! Get used to it you wont be a top four team for a long time ha ha ha

Bitter Bolton supporter ^^^

He is 100% correct though. I'm actually worried about 6th. Will be embarrasing if we get 7th or 8th.

Hi ed's just want to get someting of my chest why oh why would any true Liverpool fan want torre$ back don't get me wrong I worshiped the ground he walked on my children had his name on there backs but any players who jumps ship when we needed them most just turns his back on us the fans Didnt even give kk a chance said all the things he said about lfc not 2 mention he hasn't found the net in 3 months why on earth would u want him anywhere near the place. Phew

Worst display and tactical selection of the season. Why did we need 3 centre halfs to mark crouch? As for Carroll, well if that's not hiding I don't know what is.

Ozone

This is getting depressing reading all this negativity......you guys remember what a state we were in last season? These things take time and if last season i was told we would be in a semi with a re al chance of making the final and still in with a shout for forth place i for would take that.come on guys lets be realistic!

Great game - thoroughly enjoyed it. All it needed was a goal to top a completely dominant performance by Liverpool. Skrtl was man of the match for me but it was a great effort by all the team against the Stoke bus. I'd hate to be a Stoke fan if that is all they can do for 90 mins. Well done lads.

Forget all this talk about new strikers. How many chances did we create today? Barely any. Why? Because our midfield is as sharp as a football. A right winger and centre mid are desperately needed to create chances for Carroll instead of wasting them by shooting when they have no chance of scoring (Adam, Henderson, Downing).

So any chance of a loan move for Krasic?

Kuyt missed a sitter man!
And we had NO striker in the first half!
Get real man!
Actually watch the match next time maybe!

It's because Carroll and Kuyt made no runs for our midfield to create chances for them

14 Jan 2012 21:48:02
ThAt was shocking today. Brings up the question what was he doing 5 at the back a joke. Henderson and downing made with making the chances and kuyt kuyt who is showing signs of his age hopeless. Dalglish needs to start forgetting about rests and play bellamy his signings have been a shocker, the time we get money we knacker it, dalglish just always says want more attacking edge well go snd buy it we havent got it we need a creative attacking mid and a striker thinks this forget 2 def mid play reina kelly enrique agger skrtel gerrard henderson a johnson suarez bellamy soldado world betting potential or lucas the young brazzilian lavezzi. Its an essential we are not good enough to break down teams this after spendimg 45m on our midfield whatr? We spent £57m
On strikeforce we cant score goals our best position is defence were we spent £6m on our first team enrique(except coates whos not first team) so our best position is least spent on statistacly he has got it wrong and the problem is amybody else wed be calling for the head but we cant see past the fact it is kenny dalglish. Im
A through and through liverpool fan i would like to make it clear i am not calling for him to be sacked i dont think its that bad though he needs to be told about who to spend on and whatever because 7 draws at home tells its own stories one of bottom fove goalscorers in the league it is becoming frustrauting to watch. I mean i was at the game today And watever is said about this very few people did t say i was wrong they agreed we are good against big teams because we dont need to break them down we counterattack were as breaking down teams has been a problem from rafa benitez we lost to smaller clubs and new manager kenny dalgish is also strugglin statistacly this would have been benitez second wirst points collection at this point.... He ended up with the sack. Dalglish stop saying we need to be more clinical and BE more clinical stop talking and covering and critisise the players they desrrve it there not earning there wages there not winning liverpool football club games thats the be all and end all of the fact. Do you think there keeping the money from january to summer to have a bigger kitty in summer. We dont need squad players buy 2 30m players to add quality and star quality. Mvila hazard soldado johnson gaitain all within wage budget why not? Splash out man

14 Jan 2012 21:47:21
How will people feel when we miss out on 4th ??

Still back kenny with more money??

I sure dont

Why dont you let the Liverpool supporters worry about that one

cozinoz

14 Jan 2012 21:43:02
Seems like kenny is more interested in not losing games and winning a trophy ( League cup) rather than going for 4th...

If this was Hodgson's team and Hodgson's results he would have been hung out to dry!

Marc

Well it's not!
So whats your point?
Sack Kenny Dalglish?
Seriously?!

Good performance - dont know what youre worrying about Marc. Pick up your toys and get back in your pram.

If that was a good performance why are we last on match of the day yet again

14 Jan 2012 21:40:03
Ed I think we are too predictable and laboured in our build up and we also seem to be suffering from a lack of pace in mid field and up front,cannot see us making top four as we just dont create anything {Ed019's Note - I think that if we can regain the form we had in the second half of last season, a champion's league place is possible}

Most teams know how to play us at anfield , and all these draws just show it , and to make it worse , there are more to come , we all know were we need to make changes , who needs to go , maybe who to come in , I think KK knows that we are not ready for champions league , and that winning a cup this season is our best bet , and yes I would just love it if we do win a cup , oh , forget about top four this season , next one , yes def , when we have moved on two or three players , and bring in three with PACE , redforever

You make good sense.

14 Jan 2012 21:37:45
On the brightside. We get a lot of draws at home and next time we play man city I think everyone will be happy to take one this time

14 Jan 2012 21:37:30
what's all this sack kenny jargon? having watched the highlights of the game its seems to me the win was there for the taking only for the usual problem of not taking our chances and two clear penalty shouts not given,we also had webb reffing the game and we all know the story there, whats wrong with you lot?we're heading into 2nd leg of a semi final with a good chance of getting to the final and improving on all fronts we all know a goalscorer is needed so whats changed?get behind the team and we'll have some chance, dont get me wrong i liked rafa meself but jaysus dont be so disrespectful kenny is doing a great job the players are very happy under him and its clear to see wouldn't make sense to oust him, upset players and introduce someone else then wait another season or two for team to adjust to new managers style of play etc just stop it with the negativity and be a proud red regardless.top four is in no way too distant for us we're well able to get there and i believe we will we're getting there and im looking forward to the future with LFC..JG..

I've not seen the highlights yet but from where I was standing in the Kop it just looked like Carroll tripped over his feet again and was out muscled. I actually witnessed Carroll start in front of Huth during an attack and then put himself behind him before the ball was delivered and make feeble attempts to win the ball from behind. At that level I would certainly expect a 6 foot centre forward to retain the advantage of being in front of the defender in order to gain a run on the ball when it's put in the box. Hiding!

Ozone

Agree Ozone sickve"ive seen the highlights"merchants. And when we point out we go,were accussed of thinking were better and other sad comments.Fact we go,means we know better-thats all

14 Jan 2012 21:36:39
kenny has got it wrong guys on a massive scale,to the tune of 75million , and tactics on the pitch are terrible.at least hodgsons outlay wasnt that big n he did buy meireles who is a far better player than adam n henderson n he didnt reward him, with what in frank he deserved, forget the torres money he still spent on rubbish , you got to agree , what defines a work in progress? ferguson wenger have rebuilt teams over again n always top 4 as would reknapp if he stays at spurs,
5gold stars

You have to be the worst poster on the LFC site (and there are a few). First full season with KK in charge and you want instant success. Money spent doesnt guarantee anything (see Man City's first affluent seasons). Whatever you might think, 5 Goldstars, you are NOT a LFC supporter - you're a wind-up merchant from another team or you are an impatient idiot. Luckily, real supporters and the likes of John Henry can see the progress that has been made despite us not being unbeaten at the top of the league. You come across like a spoilt kid who didnt like his christmas present. P*ss off back to where you come from.

Personally, I'd love for Rafa Benitez to come back, in any role, particularly managerial. I think Kenny loves the club and would do anything for us, but I don't think he's the man to take us foward. I believe he can get the best out of players, as a motivater, but as a tactician and in the transfer market I think he is lacking. The fact that it is the King as manager makes the situation we are currently in even harder. Some fans, like myself really want him to be successful, and to some extent he has. But has the players he's brought in really made us a better team?In the second half of last season I really believed he was the manager to bring us back success. But the progress we've made since then has been very limited when in respect of how much money has been spent. I'm not calling for his head, as I believe our performances have been more than acceptable, but I certainly believe we will need to go in another direction to really become a top side once again. I know I'm going to get slaughtered by some posters who have been labeled 'the blind faith brigade', and don't get me wrong its incredibly important to stick by the team and the manager, but because of the intense support that Kenny has by the fans I feel despite results and performances, he will be impossible to replace or sack. If Kenny was sacked in a few weeks, even if we had some awful results, fans would call for the heads of the board. I think the owners were reluctant to give him the job permenently for this very reason. It puts in an impossible situation, were we have to decide between our loyalty to such an incredible man, who has done everything for our club and our desire to progress. Once again I'm not calling for his head, but I truely believe he is not the man to take us forward. He should have had the job rather than Hodgson last summer, as a manager to 'steady the ship' but to bring the club foward, to compete against the likes of Manchester City and United for titles, I don't think he's the man. I would appreciate any input back, as I know many will disagree with my views, but I believe some will agree with me. Thanks for reading.
Daniel. (YNWA)

Eds, Would it be likely to replace the entire squad + management staff this january? seems we need some kind of shake up after these piss poor performances {Ed019's Note - No.}

Yeah,install O'Neill as a manager...you Know it makes sence^^ wasteful comment!!

Its always the anonymous who are the most negative. Grow a pair.

14 Jan 2012 21:30:26
So callejon just had the game of his life for madrid and scored probably the most vital goal of the season so can we put those rumours to bed please??

He really meant it when he hit that ball, pity Downing and Henderson and Kuyt can't hit a ball like that.

I know its amazing it actually went in loads of players would blast it well over. Hopefully it puts an end to the stupid rumours!

14 Jan 2012 21:29:24
in this january transfer window in order to get champions league football next season we should sign player prephebly from the premier league that can come into the team and be better than what we have already got unless the players are going to be battling for first team football with gerrard, adam, enrique, suarez, agger and johnson but still be able to make a difference even if they are to be squad players. the amount we need if players leave these are maxi, kuyt, aurelio and cole and aquilani who are out on loan to leave for permanent deals is seven who could they be ed and why.

Ozone was correct armchair numpties. And it was easy to predict.K.Ks warped team selection just added to it being nailed on.Why cant youse see,if a team defends we just cannot break them down.Aint got craft,or striker to do so.How many times-average teams? And your mate Andy was decidedly average again!Worryingly IF K k is genuine about no one needs adding, well forget Champs Leauge. No pleasure at all in saying. And hard though was, vocally backed team at game all day before you-"support another team"armchair sados start!

I agree with your sentiment yet your reference to armchair supporters show that you are of simple mind and I'm starting to doubt myself

Because people can afford to go the games and some cannot like me were armchair numpties for having a opinion the only numpties here are you as football is about opinions and it doesn't matter if you go home and away it doesn't make you a better fan or supporter or to have able to have an opinion or a true supporter it just makes you luckyier because you can afford To go that's all Pk

Carp beg borrow the lot, going gives you overall perception of off the ball runs and movement, tactics.the ones sat higher than me see that better again.Never said was better, thats your hang ups.So i think better vision higher=their better than me-nope.But they do see games evolve better.Childish idiots,Reason i name call aint to you two posters specifically, its armshairs always regular spouting on here.

And which game-changing creative genius would you have put on, numpty?

14 Jan 2012 21:08:26
I'm not here to moan or complain but there's a couple of things I wouldn't mind understanding a bit. Forgetting team performance for the minute I'm just wondering why we have taken a step away from giving younger players a run out. I'm not saying regular football but for players that could benefit from an appearance why not throw them on in a game like Stoke where we really arnt doing a lot? When Dalglish first came in he gave Flannigan a go. Also Robinson has had a couple of games. But I don't even see the odd name on the bench especially at home where we have drawn 7? I don't see where the future of the team with Gerrard and now Carragher (started today) is. Fantastic as they are if we are going back to building a team around Gerrard then I start to wonder why we've been buying all these young lads for the youth teams? I know there's a point in saying they arnt ready but what possible harm does a run out for a few minutes do?

Another one I can't totally understand is Shelvey. Was having a great time at Blackpool. We pull him back for cover through injuries but if there's any change to a midfielder its Adam who comes on or Gerrard. The lad did ok at Villa then gets left to sit through the next row of fixtures? To see what the lad really has can't we give him a run? If he's not the required standard then at least we will know I don't see him improving on a bench he needs football. The way we are at the moment I'd rather see what we actually have than trying the same things week in week out what we've been seeing time and again.

I feel a bit sorry for Dirk Kuyt. If I'm not mistaken he was our top scorer last season but he's been very much a bit part player and if anyones confidence is shot its his. He missed a penalty against Everton and hasn't seemed to recover. An absolute workhorse for us and I'm thankful for the lads efforts regardless.

Craig Bellamy probably our best summer signing alongside Enrique. Shame he can't stay fit. A real goal threat generally. Maxi also has quality when he plays which isn't often enough unfortunately.

Its been a difficult season but not really for football reasons and if I'm honest I didn't like the idea of those t shirts. It just didn't sit well with me. We could have just got on with it.

Obviously this is a team in transition and we should wait to see the end result of the season but its looking increasingly like Downing won't really do much more than he's currently showiong and Andy Carroll well I don't know if the lad will ever wake up. I wanted that lad a couple of years ago and I was really hopefuly we would get a beast of a player but my hope is waining.

Wouldnt be shocked if Rafa didn't return in the summer in some kind of role?

So many Fans wanted to See Rafa out it this Club and now he is the solution?!No,he is not the answer...the Team should get back to hard work, support the Team and let's hope we sign some much needed Talent under our terms.

I wouldnt be shocked either if Rafa didnt return.

I'm not normally one to get despondent about results but today's game annoyed me. 3 centre-backs at home? Really? When teams like Stoke come to Anfield we shouldn't be changing our tactics to match them. We should have our own gameplan, stick to it and make opposing teams rethink their tactics when they come and play us. Anfield should be a place where we play the Liverpool way and torment opposing teams, not somewhere we play different tactics depending on the opposition.
I think what we are lacking more than anything is a clear vision of how the team should be playing. We play some of the best pass and move football around when Suarez, Maxi and Kuyt lead the line, but Bellamy looks dangerous whenever he plays and it's tempting to play a winger system with Carroll as the focal point. We are in a transition phase certainly, but we've been saying that for months now. The time is coming when Dalglish will need to decide how to take the team forward. Will we have faith in Carroll and play a wing system? Will we have a fluid midfield and lots of movement in the final third? I don't know, and as long as we're winning I don't really care, but this constant chopping and changing of approaches can't be benficial to the team. It's all very well playing the tactical battle away at City, but at home to Stoke we should have our own gameplan and stick to it, tell them to deal with us and not the other way around. Well that's my twopence, I have faith in the manager to build a great team but he needs to decide on our best approach pretty quickly in my opinion. We can't still be doing this next season.

Red Ollie

You can't blame the players for the performance, Kenny sets out the game plan the players follow it. It's far to negative, look at the goals for, and it's no good blaming the post or the oppositions gk. United has the worst squad for years, look at their goal tally!!Kenny needs to change his tactics, it seems to me he is entrenched in if you don't concede you don't lose syndrome. This is a better squad than last season, If we're not buying in January bring in some younger players, I think KK has his eye on the two cups, at the expence of the league position....Bobbinred

We had 3 centre-backs on and attacked non-stop all game - whats your problem? What game were you watching? It might of looked defensive on the team sheet but I dont remember a defensive display.

What game were u watching coz? Playing 1 upfront and most of the time no-one in the box! Millions of sideways passes in our own half is not attacking, its sad.

I'm sure many people say if we won 5 out of 7 home games drawn we would have had 45pts and maybe 4th on table, but we didn't win because we are simply poor,we can't unlock the defence and I'm sure if stoke would have taken lead today we would have lost the game,I'm sure every team knows what are liverpool weakness is,I said earlier today I'll say it now we will not finish on top 4,and by summer kd will be replaced...I'm sure ppl will say kd is best, but he's past from his glory days we need a tactical manager, not some1 who has been out of football managment for almost a decade or more,we need a tactical manager like Rafa and all those who are slatting rafa for spoiling on his last season,I'm sure boeardroom unsettlement did demorolise the unit, coz from 2nd in 08/09 season to 5th or 6th in 09/10,he was right man but not under previous owners,I'm sure with all the fund support kenny had with new owner if rafa has he will show results, and last point if fair play rule wasn't going to exist on home grown players does anyone think we would have bought these players for inflated price tags? Never coz we can always get better player outside uk for less money but better quality then adam, henderson, carroll, downing, and just incase if carroll was worth £35million,how come suarez was £22million?we all know which player is better don't we? Good nite {Ed002's Note -

Well said sack KD and get Rafa back
We will not improve under a coach who never gets it right tactically

Honeymoon period is well & truely over for Kenny now. We overpaid for British talent & bought Hendo, Downing & Adam as they were all in the top 5 players for creating chances last season. To give Dalglish credit we are creating a lot but with no end product. Suarez & Gerrard will make a bit of difference when they play together but Suarez isn't scoring many goals to go along with his decent performances. If we don't buy a striker & quickly, we might as well concede that a top 4 finish isn't going to happen. Half the month gone, more points dropped & Mr Henry probably unhappy with return on his layout so far!!

So, shall we buy a striker?

If we are unable to score next season as we have been this season, then I will have a moan. But, we are work in progress, that was a poor game and there will be more. Personally I think we will be close to 4th this season, Suarez & lucas Playing would have got us 4th. If we miss out then so be it, next season though we must learn from our mistakes and players must perform or the axe will fall.

Ultra red

Go away with that worek in progress thing , last year we had gerard n torres as quality, now we have gerard n suarez, enrique is v good also, back four solid fair enuf but they were there last year, scant progress, bloody awful, toothless

Listen to yourself man. The team is work
In progress, look at what shambles we had last year. You are pathetic and clueless & obviously don't listen to any of KK's press conferences. The whole of the board & management have said it's work in progress so why can't you accept it? I've read some of your posts after slating mine and laughed at the tripe you spout. Get off your high horse, get over yourself and your lack of knowledge and take some happy pills.

U r talking garbage man(ultra red) , are you happy with our displays !!!!5 men in defence to mark crouch!! midfielders that would get a fcking nose bleed if they got into the box , i was at the game n let me tell you something, men who were there in dalglishs 1st reign were "spoutng " about henderson carrol adam downing !! terrible football no creativity n to quote a fan" f*** sake kenny hard work only gets you so far!!he spent 75 million on bloody toothless players who shouldnt be near that jersey, just cos they wear it doestn command my support, get over yourself lad, they arent been booed at the games so they arent lacking support .just not capable in delivering, clueless is a term to recent performances and you!!

Negative sh!t again from you. You must be of those guys who enjoys watching Steve Keane getting roasted by his own fans every week. God help Kenny with you around!
Were you gutted last season when we nearly went under? What did you think would happen a year later? Champions league position? Cups?
Like the rest of us you didn't have a clue which direction our club was going in, look at the progression in the board, staff, team & morale compared to last season.
Did man city become top of the league after the first season the sheik ce in spending millions?
It's disappointing when we get it wrong but we are getting so much right. Calm down a bit and see the bigger picture and maybe you may start to enjoy football again.

5 goldstars, why are you trying to tell KK how to do his job? He doesn't come to your workplace and tell you how to clean toilets

We definitely need a push. And, what better way than to sign somebody to encourage and instil the belief that seems to be dwindling away rapidly from our players and more importantly us fans.

I remember a few seasons back when Man Utd signed Henrik Larsson on loan for 6 months. It paid off for them, in short it gave them a push. With Arsenal and now Man Utd again going in the same direction again, with short term deals for EXPERIENCED players in the form of Henry and Scholes, should we not give it a try. It can't hurt to bring in a seasoned pro, though finding one and persuading him to come could be difficult. This is where in my opinion, Comolli could earn his money. If I had to choose, I would say Diego Milito.

If the info Macca gave prove to be true, Luc Castaignos would be yet another 'one for the future'. We seem to be doing a lot of that these days. But from an internal point of view, would Castaignos insipre and instil a belief in our current players NOW?

Perhaps Suarez's return would give us them boost. My 2 cents on the transfer front, but hey I'm no Kenny Dalglish!

I think this negative result will have a positive impact on the club. After today's lack of creativity KK and DC will have realised that we need to buy - preferably a creative flair player ( a wide player who is better than that poor excuse of a winger we have now) and a proven goalscorer. If we do not buy we will go backwards this year and finish lower than we did last year. Food for thought!!

Whats worrying is we needed to buy before today, and KK said we didnt!

I already expressed my disappointment towards the Liverpool team and manager for their rubbish and boring performances. But i just want to talk about the stupid sky sport pundit in matt le tissier. He always seems to talk rubbish about us for no reason. I hate him so much. He is still crying because Southampton are not in the premier league and never will be. what do u guys think?. About our last summer transfers.Mata (23years old) to Chelsea for 26m vs Downing (27) to our greatest Lfc for 22m;Nuri Sahin (22) to Madrid for 10m vs Adam (25) for 8m ;Carrol (22) for 40m vs Aguero (23) to City for 45m;Ozil (22years old) to Madrid for 18m vs Henderson (21years old) for 18m.Who would you choose?Marius

At the start of the season I came on the forum and said how I would prefer Mat over Downing any day- but it seems the owners preferred stats over quality. I hope Kenny has learnt from his mistakes in the transfer market.

Marius, I take it you are dealing in euros, otherwise your figures are way out!

Come on, all the Players you mentioned are terrific but they had no interest in joining Liverpool!Think about it.They joined clubs with a huge history(For example Real Madrid) for huge wages with CL Football to offer.Get real about it,Liverpool don't have the possibilty to choose between World Class Players!!They get these kind of Players who aren't wanted by the Clubs who can offer things like that!!If you can't accept it, go on and Support an other Team.I'm getting fed up with persons like you who just compare the fees!!Have a nice Game with FIFA Manager and stay AWAY with such unreslistic comments!

Spencer

Great post spencer

People need to understand that their is also hefty wages involved in buying these players and lets face it liverpool would not be able to handle it right now

Andy Carroll was £35m mate, but we get the idea, once again, without Champions League football its hard to get these players, and our wage structure isn't exactly built for paying players £150k upwards... Its not about choosing, if a club doesn't bid they wont have any chance of getting any players

I am currently revelling in great satisfaction right now. Rewind 3-4months and I was on here daily telling every man and his dog that Dalglish was tactically inept and we would rue the day we appointed him. I was completely annhialated for my views and subsequently banned from the site due to my "abusive", negative and overtly critical style of commentary.

Well I hate to say I told you so but cannot help but feel a great sense of irony.

I appreciate we should get behind LFC and support our great team but fans should introduce some realism too.

Kenny is not the man to take us forward...he has only been successful as a manager where he has had unlimited funds to purchase players...I just dont understand how the man has castastrophically failed in most of his managerial roles yet you guys seem so blind to this? His record as a manager is second rate at best.

Todays lineup didnt make any sense in this reality or any other alternate reality and anyone who believes otherwise is needs to be mentally examined.

* Carroll is not ready.
* KD is not tactically aware
* Adam, Downing and Henderson have struggled
* Carragher is finished
* Kuyt is finished.
* Maxi and Bellamy cannot play 2 games in a row
* Suarez has had major disciplinary issues
* Lucas out for the season
* Spearing is not ready

THIS IS NOT ME BEING NEGATIVE OR NOT SUPPORTING MY TEAM...IT IS REAL HARDCORE FACTS.

Yes we have made great strides since hodgson but lets be honest the only way was up...we could have had Neil Warnock as manager and still improved after Hodgson.

We are currently 6th so what has really changed so much from the last days of Benitez? Let me tell you something, if Benitez had the cash available that we do now then we would be a formidable force.

Benitez is a world class manager and his problems were that he didnt have any money and had to make do with cheap second rate players i.e riera, josemi, voronin. Also he had to deal with a lot of politics at the club at both boardroom level and in the dressing room.

Benitez would achieve so much under our current regime, he is world class and has demonstrated his managerial ability consistently. Dalglish is
not in the same league im afraid and actually we have made the improvements we have this year not due to KD but due to the appointment of Steve Clarke and Steve Clarke only.

I hope you allow this to get posted as I feel i have made some fair points without having to be overtly aggressive or inflammatory.

Leo

Great post Raffa...!

Rubbish, this time last yr we were in a bad state, he changed it around, alot was mental attitude of players. during the summer alot of these players were moved on. Sales an buys let to abt 40 mill net since. If we had of put away half of the 18 shots that hit posts we may of had 8 points or more, we would be closer to third, i dont think Leo you would have posted your comment then . He may have got some buys wrong but hes the right man for the job. Suarez and Gerrard will get goals but a goal poacher is what we need or a decent linkup player.

I hope kenny brings in a striker. He says he is happy with the squad but no disrespect to KK at the end of the day the fans need to be happy because we are what makes the club what it is, and a striker is what will make the fans happy... and cut your losses with carroll dalglish, ok you paid 35 mil for him that was a mistake lets move on instead of continuously playing him in the hope that he will magically get better.. just saying what everyone is thinking.

14 Jan 2012 20:01:36
To compare Kenny and Rafa biggest buys.Rafa bought a world class striker Torres(sold for 60m) for less than Kenny paid for a player who played only half premier league season.Other transfers:Xabi 15m(sold for 35) vs Henderson 18m;Mascherano was bought for around 20m and sold for the same by Hodgson(Benitez said when Xabi left that Mascherano will not be sold for anything less than 50m);Downing 22m?!I know you are going to tell me about Aquilani but isn't rafa's fault that Aqua was sent on loan.I'm not a fan of Benitez but King Kenny overpaid for these british players.I know that Kenny buy what he want and knows but last summer Pirlo,Reto Ziegler,Taiwo,Mexes were free agents. And for those who claim that i'm not a true fan but its sad to see that we are 6th and maybe 7th after newcastle game.Sorry for my english.Marius.YNWA

Agree with you mate dont care what anyone on here says, dalglish has not been doing the greatest in transfer windows, altho im a big fan of suarez and enrique.. and henderson will get there he is just young.

Where in the world have you been this last year?Torres £60 million?£50 million for a has been striker plagued by injury is good salesmanship bonehead.start supporting LFC when times are bad and the good times will feel so much better or go support chavski, citeh or utd and keep wanting instant success

King luis

I kind of agree till I thought about it, when Rafael was buying we had champions league less compition from money rich clubs in Spain Russia and here to buy the best. Also some of those players he bought developed who is to say henderson cotes want develop to be as good, and remember he got Suarez who is world class.

14 Jan 2012 20:01:02
Ed, please post:

I am baffled as to why KK adopted the 'buy expensive british' policy last summer and last season? This has cost us this 4th place when goals have been at a premium.

The only real half decent players bought cost a combined £15m. Coates, Enrique, Doni & Bellamy. Good business.

Henderson at £16m is one for the future, fair play to that. £8m for Adam, you would say ok, at least he's a squad player.

However spending £55m on the likes of Carroll & Downing is what makes my blood boil. Carroll will never cut it at our club, even if he cost £10m, I would still be having major doubts about him. Downing has done nothing, keeps cutting inside, when he should get to the byline and whip crosses in. He is average at best.

Honestly, my heart sank when we signed those two players, I was not elated or excited at all, and was absolutely gobsmacked at the money wasted, yes wasted! Comolli & FSG are to blame here as well as KK, because according to their 'stats', they were supposedly best players at their respective clubs last season.

Time to cut losses and get rid of both and bring in proven continental striker and winger with PACE. I would happily take a £30m loss on them, sell them for £10-15m each.

mungo fish

You might get 10-15M for Carroll but downing would be lucky to fetch 8M

Very crude analysis looking just at estimated transfer fees when millions are allocated to wages. In oder words take wages into account when comparing players who have been transfered.

Note king louis,King of Kb,kt,mikey etc the support your team when average-if you criticise your not a fan mentality-pretty quite. Its criticism cos it aint good enough. You tell realists to go away.Well we want better, and criticism tells powers that be-aint good enough-must strive to improve. You obviously embrace mediocrity-youse go awayb and support mediocre EFC then!(not nice is it?

Another person poster - its not May yet, fool - how has it cost us 4th place? We win the next 10 games and you look like the tool you are

cozinoz

Nice one cozinoz, we wont win 10 games in a row. Simply arent good enough

Steve

That's the attitude Steve. How do you exist with such a miserable negative outlook on life? You belong in Coronation St.

14 Jan 2012 19:57:45
Why cant anyone bloody realise we are building a team to win the premier league in the next three years. I dont give a f*** about 4th place. What drives me is progression in the league ( which we are doing ) and maybe win some wembley pots. SILVERWARE ! not money grabbing champion league spots.

The thing you need to realise is to attract the players needed to win the league you need to have champions league football

Dalglish actually said our aim for the season is a good run in the cups and a top 4 place... If we're building a team capable of winning the league in 3 years then shouldn't we be buying a striker and right winger in this window to give us the best chance of European football and a chance to get higher calibre players to come to our club if we get into Champions League!! Right now we are going back down the table, by the time Suarez gets back we could be in 8th place. 24 goals in 21 games is a disgrace, Bolton and Blackburn have scored more goals and Man-City have scored 56, more than double we have, thats just shocking. I dont just blame the players, Dalglish has got our formations wrong on several occasions aswell.

Rocky

Ur not progressing tho - did u mean regressing perhaps ? Lol

14 Jan 2012 19:53:54
We need to either admit we will come 6th or 7th this season and concentrate on winning cups OR actually go for 4th buy spending big money on a decent striker and a pacey winger. I'd rather be in the Champions league next season and win nothing. If we get there we will get extra revenue and top players wanting to come to us again, just my thoughts. Disappointing result today sure, no need to panic it just highlights our shortcomings which are effectively two playing positions - everything else is great.

In a bad mood after the stoke game, danglish formations and "summer signings" making me wonder, if we will ever reach top 4.
Eds any update to Sow, Luuk De Loog or any strikers, (we need one desperately),

Cheers

We will never get top 4 under kenny, tactically rubbish, team are too negative and defensive, we need to play 4 3 3 and go for teams. alot of money wasted on players who could not unlock their own front doors, very very sad to watch

14 Jan 2012 19:44:24
i ,like all of you guys over here, am really dissapointed with the result tonight. strange tactics- well probably but i can bet my a** that rafa wont be able to better than kenny is doing right now. we are such a big club and the wait has been so long now that every draw and defeats feel bitterly disappointing.
i think the main focus should be on winning the carling cup so that we can have europe next season. we may not finish in the top 4 but these players will get only better with time. love or hate carrol, we are stuck with him. all this bulls*** about his fees etc is going to take us nowhere. we have to make the best use of our resources and fight it out. a good team always has a solid foundation at the back we just need our final third play to be better. dont count the season out just yet you just never know. it may seem a bit early but i feel we have a good foundation for the next season. all the impatient guys just chill and listen to some music. i just watched warrior after the game it made me relax.

Every team knows we havnt gt a clue once we reach the final third! Yet ag its hitting a brick wall! Not good enough !

Hi there hows the weather in Manchester?

14 Jan 2012 19:39:18
fed up to be honest. Liverpool are simply a boring team who are still a two man team going forward (Torres changed to Suarez). We had an amazing chance to turn us into title contenders in the summer, but we completely blew it with our terrible dealings. For the amount of money we spent, we could have easily bought some real QUALITY players, the ones chased by the big teams not competeing with mid table prem teams all the time! If we dont sign at least one 15m plus striker and winger we will come 6th (and im not talking any more big fish in little premier league ponds, because it will get us no where). No more english men because there mostly boring, have no flair or trickery.

14 Jan 2012 19:30:41
Well! That was a bad performance. As bad as there has been all season. I was really struggling to work out the system from the start. The 3 CBs I got & allowing Johnson & Enrique to operate as wing backs. Then I assumed that Downing must be playing up front with Kuyt. I mean there's no way we are going to play 5 at the back & 4 in midfield against Stoke, but Downing was just nowhere up front & he got even worse after the break. Kuyt only really came alive when he had someone up with him, up until then he was a passenger. I would have to be honest & say we got the tactics wrong today. The 3 CBs was a reasonable idea but I don't really think Johnson & Enrique pushed on enough. Adams deliveries were excellent but Gerrard didn't really do much to be honest. He wasn't driving at Stokes defence. It also took to the 60th minute before the crowd found their voice. A real bad one today & there's no hiding from it.

The Irish Rover

Rubbish - we had everything except goals. Non-stop attcking for 90 mins but came up short in the final 3rd. Were missing Luis and it doesnt make sense to replace him.

I see that all the doom mongers are out again. Ok today not a great performance or result but another clean shee and another point on the board. KK is doing a fine job considering this time last year we was around 8th from bottom. KK has had to pick up the pieces from rafa and hodgson and we are one game from wembley and only five points off top four.

We just need a big push these next few weeks and we will be fine. As i said most great sides are built from the back and then add all the other pieces into your jigsaw.

Some fans need to have more patience and things will come good. There is still some deadwood in the squad. Kenny as made some great signings suarez, enrique, adam and henderson and i am sure carroll and downing will come good.

Maybe if we get behind our side the our home results will come. Our next two league games bolton and wolves away hopefully we can get six points and maybe we are playing better away as our players are relaxed more. So lets behind our boys and as i said our home results will come.

Mighty reds

Blinkers on again

Change the Record plz

Are you for real! How long are we going to keep saying "we're better than we we were last year". We would be in the bottom three if we were any worst.
We need to move on from last year and look at the performances now, not good enough.
Why are we changing our team around to deal with Stoke for gods sake
Dalglish needs to be questioned about today.
I'm fed up with all the stupid comments ie another clean sheet and only five points off 4th place, we should be doing better

Hi Guys,
Can someone please reassure me that we are gonna buy some talent that can actually score. Dont get me wrong i love the club and what KK is trying to achieve with the players that he has brought in to the club. We do seem to be playing some really nice football and i have watched many a game this season whereby we have played teams of the park however the teams one pretty major flaw is that no one player seems capable of scoring on a consistant basis, and as for Carrol well to be blunt he is s**te with a capital C. He seems slow, laboured and totally ineffective. I love our club but i get evermore frustrated when we draw against mediocre teams. Id love to see KK bring in a world class striker to play alongside Suarez to give us a far more effectice strike force. Guys is there any chance that my dreams could come true ?

Ed001 is making some pretty poor comments. Is there a forum to ban him as he is acting like a f1n. {Ed002's Note - If you don't like the comments from the Eds then feel free just to ignore them. As the world's most fickle fans complaints about the players after every game are predictable, and now so are the Kenny Out calls after every draw. On the plus side all you have found to grizzle about is the Editors - so post of the day.}

Please Ed002 don't label us the most fickle fans! I really can't believe that! If that's true it can only be the new fans, the young ones who know no better, I hope!

Chris in Tamworth {Ed002's Note - Chris, there is no doubt about how fickle the fans are. Just look at the hours following any game (win, lose or draw). During the week the fans will defend Dalglish to the hilt - now significant numbers want him out.}

Every club has fickle fans Ed002! I've seen it on Man Utd & Chelsea sites after defeats. There's more on here obviously because this site gets more traffic than the rest put together. Although I would agree that it's a pain in the ass. Morons, the lot of them.

The Irish Rover

It's one word 'expectations'!

Ed002, can I ask if Newcastle and Stoke fans are as 'fickle'? With respect, could it be because they are not expected to be challenging for a top 4 and trophies as much as Liverpool. Maybe fans need to lower their expectations a little? I for one find it difficult when I've seen Liverpool win leagues year after year... and I've told the stories to my children.

p.s. the comments about Ed001 were not necessary, and I like the fact you were protective of Ed001. {Ed002's Note - The only fans that excel on the fickleness scale are the Liverpool fans.}

There are some fickle fans out there, granted. But there are also some fans who have been predicting this for a long time now. I can imagine it is hard to know who is changing there opinion all the time and who is sticking to there guns (be it positive or negative.)

Ash

The Man Utd Fans are not bad on the fickle scale infact they run the fans here a close second!

Right everyone is entitled to their opionion but please lets have them put with thought, For all of you asking for king kenny to be sacked who do you have in mind becuase i dont see to many high profile british managers out there who are availabe and theres no way i want the club to go european again unless its pep guardiola and that aint gonna happen. Yes he got tactics wrong today but you same fans are on here singing his praise when we pull off great victorys.

Go on then you who disagreed have the balls to say who youd have being as thou your so clever. No manager stands a chance with fans like you.

Hi all,

People are right we do need a new forward and a top class one, but for me the lack of creativity is alarming and it doesn't matter who we put up front unless we sort out the supply to the forwards.

On Andy Carol I dont want to cast desperation the chap but he doesn't look healthy if you look at him when he was at Newcastle he wasnt as gaunt looking what I mean by that his jaws weren't all sucked in like they are now he looks like a man who is not looking after himself and partying to much I looked like that when I was 17/18 and raving every weekend

Fair comment.

Hi Eds and readers,
Not a moan or complate about the team today just a few opinions, feel kenny and maybe steve clarke going with a back five was slightly playing into stokes hands a little and also possibly picking a team with the opposition in mind is a touch worrying especially at home.

I Also think in the 2nd half in midweek and in todays game we isolated the lone striker fair to much and didnt have any runners from midfield or players playing close enough to kuyt for long periods. We have seen plenty of chances at anfield this season but not today their keeper was untroubled but days like this will happen in a period of transition i guess.

Hopeful of a striker with movement and touch in the box in the window maybe. Finally every team pulls and pushes from corners and free kicks but for mr webb not too give a penalty when andy carroll was bear hugged 2nd half was beyond belief and he was looking straight at the incident as seconds earlier he had warned the players about holding! Thanks for your time.

Enjoy the service all the eds provide and your patience, you should get paid for this outstanding site. Thanks

PS How bad was the fella who took three penos at half time today!

Jimmy Carter Was Pants

Ha ha ha, that finnish fella who took the pens was the worst pen taker i have ever seen! my lad is 5 and takes a better pen than him! bar and 2 over!

Todays game was a perfect example of why we need one or two creative attackers.....have a rethink Kenny.

14 Jan 2012 19:05:22
We have only lost 1 more game than g*chester un*ted in the league, this proves all we are lacking is a goal scorer so can we all just give it a rest an leave all the vocal support for match days encouraging the lads in the pitch? Kmt!
Shottski.

14 Jan 2012 19:03:49
Any chance that Suso or Adorjan will go out on loan? Any interest? They're old enough too.

14 Jan 2012 19:02:27
I posted over a week ago what is more important the winning the league cup or coming 4th. The point I made 4th is far more important than the cup and today proved the point. The league cup has cost us Lucas, Spearing and Agger. It also meant Bellamy could not start today. Kenny's focus is purely winning a cup and the league seems to be playing second fiddle. The line up today was mind boggling 5 defenders and 5 midfielders at home v stoke...wtf.
Get a striker and focus on the league not no mickey mouse cup.

King Vin

14 Jan 2012 18:57:30
Does kenny get feed back of how the fans feel or does he just choose to ignor it

14 Jan 2012 18:43:15
That was a formation for the away game a stoke, maybe we forgot we were at home. Or maybe it was practice for the next time we play at Stoke!

In defence to the team selection we set up with five at the back when we played them at home last year and it worked well. It's these games we miss Suarez to twist and turn there defence, on top that they had a game plan and skoke played well.

From original poster - fair point made. But I'd have thought that without Suarez, they would do something different.

14 Jan 2012 18:42:33
After this game, I'm fed up with Carroll to be honest. I've supported him since the day we've signed him and I will continue to support as long as Dalglish and the club do. But Kenny seriously needs to buy him either a partner, or a person who can find him with those crosses.

That and Carroll needs to work harder. You didn't see that hard work he did in his other matches today, all you saw was frustration. He was also being lazy, hence the 2 blocks which might have even gone in if Andy was in the way.

Regardless, the team drew, not Andy. We all should continue to back him regardless until Kenny decides otherwise.

RenegadeRed

Have we a better or any
choice?

14 Jan 2012 18:42:23
Crikey - we gave Stoke way too much respect today. Statistically, we have one of the best defences in the league but felt we need to change the whole thing for Peter Crouch!! You're having a laugh!!!

We have the talent on that pitch to batter Stoke 4-0, well, that's if we had a proper striker...

14 Jan 2012 18:41:24
OK so it was a mediocre day for KK, Steve Clarke and the players of which Kuyt has been a liability for a long while. But for all of those that are asking for Kenny to go please ask yourself who on earth would replace him and how would his dismissal affect the whole club and the vast majority of supporters? We have improved immeasurably over the past year and our style of play (arguably apart from today) now is so much more attractive than during Rafa's reign or Hodgson's debacle. We have a manager who will stand up for the club, has the utmost respect from the players and knows the club inside out. Personally, I find the comments about Kenny going as completely disrespectful for what he has achieved but I guess a sad state of the supporters in this day and age who demand that we must win every game with a scintillating performance. Get real. DM

am afraid fellow lfc fans, i see no light at the end of the tunnel if we continue like this; nobody is telling kk the truth. it seems like everybody around him is a yes-man, the legends were quick to point out rafa's mistakes and shortcomings but nobody is saying the truth now; somebody needs to tell kk the naked truth. something big is obviously wrong with the team and we all know it but we can say it because there are some fans out there who can not come to term with constructive criticism of kk's handling of the team( tactics, team selection and transfers).
pls, nobody should try to remind me of where we were last season because we all know there was no huge money involved, roy didnt not have that kind of money to play with; this is not an excuse for roy who failed miserably. kk does not need a yes-man around him, what he needs is somebody to him the truth.

Kenny not doing good job im sick of this we need pace were a slow team

Robin van Persie = 17 league goals.
Liverpool FC = 24 league goals.

Food for thought?

Without Lucas and Suarez out for a few more games, I'm resigned to 6th place this year.

I have no pleasure in saying that, but 8 draws at home, and playing like that, I can't see anything different.

As much as I thought Kenny got our tactics spot on, against City. I equally think that he got them wrong today. We play 5 at the back against Stoke (i can understand). But playing 5 at the back to free up Enrique and Johnson to bomb forward and put crosses into the box for Kurt, I can't understand. If we are going to play this formation, then why not play Carroll? We had Enrique, Gerrard, Adam, Downing and Johnson who can all deliver a ball into the box. But instead of Carroll being on the end of them, it was Kuyt for most of the game?

For me, this game was perfect for Andy. But for some reason, Kenny went for Kuyt. No matter what anyone thinks of Carrol, he's better than Kuyt atm.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

Ps. Strange formation/tactics today????

Totally agree. Then downing, the main source of crosses into the box, came off for big Andy. If rafa had done that there would have been murder. Nevertheless, long live the king!

Parking the bus against Stoke eh?

Disney!

I agree that it was bizarre to use two wing-backs and leave Carroll on the bench for most of the match. When he did come on he had an immediate impact and the Stoke defenders were terrified of hom. He should have been on from the start in that formation.

14 Jan 2012 18:46:54
can we swap the real andy carrol with the one in FIFA 12?

Ino yeah hes quality in the game lol

Mines crap there too

14 Jan 2012 18:39:43
Would you trust Dalglish with more money in the transfer market? I wouldn't, and before you all start jumping down my throat ask yourselves this question.

If Carroll,Downing,Henderson and Adam were sold this January would we miss them.

I think we all know the answer to this.

The answer is yes cause there is no one better in the squad so dalglish did exactly what he said and improved the whole squad

14 Jan 2012 18:38:51
What happens 2 kenny when we .don't finish in the top 4

He gets a bonus for coming in seventh and winning the mickey mouse cup

Nothing i would think. But do remember the owners saying at the start of the session that not finishing in the top for would be a great disappointment.
For me KK was a great safe hands for the end of last season. But a new manager should have been installed in the summer.
I guess i am to young to remember KK at Liverpool 1st time round. But all i could think of when he was appointed was his time at Newcastle, which he didnt do much there

I hope he proves me wrong

Gettin sick of these fans , if use can't see progression on and off the pitch ur blind mate, things dnt happen over nite grow up or go support another team

I agree kenny thinks that cup is the saviour its mickey mouse cup for mickey mouse team

Kk two seasons at newcastle resulted in an fa cup final and runners up in the league some supporters are so impatient ,redello

Yaaawwwwnnnn go and support another team-constructive!!noooottttt

14 Jan 2012 18:36:13
Hi Ed, i read your round up and it seemed that no-one was really expected to join in January. So i take it that we're not really expecting anyone? We definitely need someone though, especially a striker! today's game shows anyone that. Thanks for all your hard work

Remy, Doumbia or Sow, either one would give us what we need up front.

We need a striker for the last year mr kenny

14 Jan 2012 18:31:45
Why is it that any LFC fan who even remotely dares to question KDs abilities as a manager gets slated by the KD worshipers because todays team selection tactics and performance give further proof that while as a player he is a legend as a manager he is rubbish and when not if we again miss out on a top 4 finish and the owners sack him then even his fiercest worshipers will finally realize that it was a mistake to reappoint him as manager. With KD as manager we are taking 1 step forward then 2 steps back its getting depressing.B.J 05 YNWA

14 Jan 2012 18:30:04
Think it was painfully clear that once again today where are not good enough. To many draws, I seems that every game we play the Champs league gets further away. The longer that we stay out of that the less money we will get, and it will be harder to get top players to get back into it. At the start of the season people where talking about the title, i feel we are light years away from that.

At this time i can only think of one thing, in RAFFA we trust.

Maybe am to young to remember the gorly days of KK, but or me he is not the man to take us forward.

rushdentillidie

Can't wait for the next AWAY game!! :-)

14 Jan 2012 18:27:22
Where are you Rafa?We need you more than ever.Marius

That the same rafa who didn't get into the cpl.get a grip idiot

Ste Liverpool

The Rafa brigade are out in force tonight obviously forgetting what damage he did to our club or simply blind to it

Yes that would be the same raffa that won us the Champions leauge and got us to the final 2 years later! But hey if we win the Carling cup we have the Europa league to look forward to

Rushdentillidie

It wasnt entirely rafa's fault to be fair he had some shocking owners backing him and still made us a force in England and Europe. Then again we cant sack a living legend for a few disappointing draws although i assume the owners will consider whether or not he has met the brief they set out for him when offering the contract.

14 Jan 2012 18:27:03
surely we have to sign a striker now and comoli KK and the owners should see that its as clear as day dont know why we are waiting for the summer before the players we want sign for someone else why cant we just get them now. I feel sorry for the fans that pay 40 pound every week to see us perform like that and kenny needs to stop defending carrol he needs to tell him straight that he needs to buck his ideas up. We need to improve now before its to late its not like were in the middle of april we are in jan an the transfer window is open so buy now we need to improve 7 draws at home isnt good enough for at least 4th

14 Jan 2012 18:26:52
Am I the only who thinks it strange how often we only use two subs these days?

Maybe it's because we don't have anybody else who could make an impact on the bench?

AG

14 Jan 2012 18:25:53
i back players who give a 100%, lucas for example even when he was not developed as a defensive/holding midfielder i supported him because he used to give his 100%. i dont see this in carrol. he is big but is out jumped by every defender. he has no pace but doesn't try to even run. he is the target man yet falls down on the slightest touch. my patience is running out so is a lot of others. so kenny put all the fans out of this difficult situation and sell carrol. if we can get 20m take it.

If we can get 20m, would you pay 20m for him?

14 Jan 2012 18:22:36
Come on Macca. We're all depressed today with the result, cheer us up please by giving us the player who'll sign from inter.

It's Luc Castaignos mate. He agreed to one of the posters that he is the player yesterday I think. It's an interesting choice I think. Will he be able to solve our problems, I think not, which is why it baffles me that we are possibly loaning him in.

AG

Thanks man, didn't see it. I've never seen him play so it'll be interesting..

14 Jan 2012 18:20:03
We need to buy at least 1 striker poss 2 we've been light up front for the last 4 too 5 years so same problem year in year out come on you red men

Yeap and i got shouted down saying same a month ago-by the-were brilliant merchants

I play like Pavel Nedvěd

Am willing to put the boots back on and play I can't be worse than Kuyt or Carroll even though I am 44

My nephew (16) has scored in 18 consecutive matches for his club with a total of 26 goals in those 18 games. If anyone at the club wants to have a look at him just let me know

Chris in Tamworth

I manage liverpool in fifa 12. can i scout him. will you be his agent. we can even give commission to the eds for introducing us

Chris when you chase cows in a paddock and pretend that you are scoring goals, any one would be able to score that many goals. If your neice was any good I'm sure scots would of known him by now. Living in jam worth with cows as players I very much doubt you would score a tit let alone him score any goals

Well thank you mr nameless poster for your incredible footballing analogy. Are you Eric Cantona?
Just to let you know my nephew plays in the midland combination league which is a pretty good level for his age but of course you are right it's not possible that someone could have been missed by a scout is it, I mean, no footballer from non league has ever made it to the prem have they! Oh hang on a minute.......

Its really hard to be patient sometimes...4 down 4 to go

Square tomato

Agree mate. That performance shows our obvious lack of creativity without Suarez. Heres hoping we can up our collective performance for the next 4 games!

AG

Ye that's just a countdown to when Luis is back! We took him for granted its really frustrating watching the game and you can tell we just won't score! A striker and some creativity is really needed kuyt has lost it although i love him YNWA

Square tomato

Yep, a lot of folks insisted that we would still be creative enough without Suarez, especially since Gerrard is back, but nope, we clearly lack creativity in the forward positions. Agree about Kuyt too, I think its better if we gave one of the youngsters a chance instead of Kuyt.

AG

Ye really think Adorjen behind the striker can't do any halm.

A bit like your effort of a joke

14 Jan 2012 18:11:57
Yeah we need some firepower but please Kenny sacked etc, behave. let's just hope they bring in a couple of player that can actually put the ball in the net.

14 Jan 2012 18:10:13
I appreciate your loyalty to the club eds, I do agree with getting behind all Liverpool players but deep down you must view Carroll with the same regards to the likes of Meijer, Dundee, Morientes etc... He isn't and never will cut it. £35 million may b irrelevant as I keep hearing £15m on top of Torres. To b honest if we bought him flat out for £15m I'd still think their are q's to b asked, the sooner everyone admits they've made a mistake and cut their losses the sooner we can all move on, the poor guys career will b in tatters if this carried on.

14 Jan 2012 18:09:26
No knee jerk reaction, but we cannot hide the fact that teams keep coming to Anfield and taking points off us. As soon as I so the starting line up today I knew a draw was to follow, 3 C/B at home against Stoke is simply not good enough. Tony Pulis has just said that once he looked at the Liverpool team sheet today he changed his set up from 442 to cope with our over defensive line up, embarrassing.

Seven home draws says it all (FACT), as much as I would love to see us finish in the top 4 unfortunately we can forget that it ain't happening this season. KD has made some strange decisions this season at home and for whatever reason his stubbornness to go all out attack is bemusing. One shot on target all game today is just not good enough, we can have as much possession as we like but if we don't put the ball in the net then it's our own fault.

We defiantly need a natural striker or even two, and a quality right winger is a must. FSG have a big decision to make in the next two weeks, they either invest in the squad and try to finish the remainder of the season as strong as they can or they don't invest and settle for 6th or 7th in the league and hope we manage to win a cup competition.

Whatever the decision they make they will know that come the summer the transfer merry go round will begin again and players like Kuyt, Maxi, Pacheo etc etc will leave and players of a far better standard will be brought to th club. To get into the top 4 FSG will need to spend big either way.

The Grand wizard...

Would you trust the current management team with a large transfer budget?

it kills me to say this but kenny got it wrong today, Dirk kuyt is not a forward cant beleive he was put up front on his own he cant trap a bag of cement. Craig bellamy has got the work rate but the more than that he's got the ability and the pace to it a whole lot better than dirk, surely it's time for him to get off now.
another thing some of the crosses we got into the box before andy came on were decent and then when he comes on the service just stops and people have a go at andy, dont get me wrong im not his biggest fan but i think he's too easy a scapegoat for far too many fans.
We need a goal scorer this window or we can wave champs league or even europa goodbye for another year.

And stevie was too deep. But he needed someone needs to have ability to pass through to him,if he does go more advanced. And no one good enough to do so

14 Jan 2012 18:07:51
i hope we realise sooner rather than later we are no where near good enough to get in the top 4, when a poor team show up to anfield and defend its like we run out of ideas in the first 10 minutes
we buy so many 'good' players in poor teams, henderson, adam, carroll, johnson, downing, to name a few and these are not liverpool standard players
albeit henderson and adam are performing well and i beleive they will be good assets but as for Liverpool as a football club we are destined for 7th-6th place for a good few seasons yet, maybe 5th if were lucky only to get knocked out by braga in the europa league which again is a stupid excuse of a competition

jordan

I think that's Adam, Henderson, Downing etc. level mate. They have put in performance staggeringly similar to that on the majority of the games they have played in. I think Adam will improve next season and Henderson I think is one for the future, while I think Downing is just not going to reach the level we expect I think. There were not lot of positives to take from that performance expect perhaps game time to Carragher and Coates.

14 Jan 2012 18:04:27
Im sorry but all these fans talking about the team needs time is bulls**t. We have spent around 100 million on overpriced, overated players with excpetions to Enrique & Suarez. We have no creativity, no pace and no one to put the ball in the back of the net. We need to buy this month or I see us falling way behind the top 4. 5-4-1 at home to stoke? WTF {Ed001's Note - clearly you have no clue about teamwork, it takes time to develop. The only bull is your talk of how it doesn't take time.}

Hey Ed cut the crap will ya. How long does it take £100M worth of talent to gel.....and BTW they're on a combined salary of £300-£400k per week as well?? These are so called pros, men at the top of the tree and yet you're still making lame excuses for that garbage. I would have lost my job performing like that week in week out. Still waiting to be truly entertained at home this season by a very mediocre team and we're paying good money to watch it!! If you're defending that maybe ED001 is KK himself?

I do agree with the above poster and with the ed to some degree. We basically aren't good enough and it does take time for a team to gel. However other than Suarez and possibly Henderson, none of the players we bought last summer are good enough.

Unfortunately the harsh reality is that we if we want to compete with the top teams, we need to be able to beat the smaller teams - our Achilles heel.

I think it's safe to say that Carroll is not going to get any better. As soon as he is on, teams will ensure that we can't provide him with the service, although to be honest, even if he got the service, he wouldnt do much anyway.

Basically, we need a striker and a right winger, otherwise we will become another mid table team for the next couple of seasons.

I don't class us as a top 4 team anymore especially wen u see teams like spurs playing excellent football, thus effectively taking our spot in the top 4.

Liverpool can't keep relying on history, we need to take action now to be ready for the future!!

Very Concerned Red

The formation was not 5-4-1. It was 3-4-2-1.

14 Jan 2012 18:03:29
All this whinging and calling for Kennys head is doing my head in. Fair enough we did not win and we lacked a cutting edge but we have improved under Kenny especially defensively. Andy should have had a penalty and Dirk missed a sitter. We need a clever player like Kagawa a clinical striker and a top winger at least. See the bigger picture we are going in the right direction end of.

14 Jan 2012 18:02:04
This is my theory why we always draw at home, why we always play better against the big teams and why Carroll cannot score:
I think it is due to our style which relies on a team playing a high defensive line because our midfield (e.g.Gerrard, Henderson) like to play eye-through-the-needle through balls behind the defense which a player can run onto which is like how we used to play in the 08-09 Gerrard-Torres team however there are 2 very big flaws in this:
1. We have no Torres to run onto these balls we have a slow Carroll
2. When a team comes to Anfield they like to play a deep line so there is no room to play balls behind the defence so our midfield have no idea what to do and just sit outside the box passing the ball pointlessly around this also would explain why we have more success away and against big teams because they will play a higher defensive line.

14 Jan 2012 18:01:27
Sometimes it just doesnt work. The problem is it never works. I mean a player may be out of form fir a few weeks' maybe a month or two tops. But a whole damn year Carroll?!?!?!

14 Jan 2012 18:01:08
5 defenders against stoke at home.. really shows how poor you've become!

It was three central defenders and two wing backs. That is an attacking formation not a defensive one and attack we di for most of the match RED LENIN

Ed question for you..
Have Liverpool improved since Benitez left?

What I mean is that under Rafa we had Reina, Mascherano, Alonso, Gerrard and Torres. That's 6 world class players compared to what we have now.

I love Daglish and I do think he will come good and win trophies. We are attacking now better than that since Evans and he seems to not only dramatically reduce the wage bill but also bring a unity within a squad that's similar to uniteds spirit.
We are in a good position in the league and FA cup and not yet out of the champions league race.
But looking at our points and our squad, have we really improved?
Your thoughts Ed {Ed001's Note - you seem to have conveniently forgotten that Rafa also managed to alienate half the squad. Also that after he left a shambles of a team, we had Roy come in and make things worse. Have we improved over that? Massively.}

Ed001, are you sure you are not king kenny? improved massively? you must be joking ed. lol

Also hazard as said he wants to come to England now.

Lads I've just heard Carroll is on his way out from the club to Lyon on loan.

14 Jan 2012 17:54:33
I think we need to be realistic here, We do need a striker and its so obvious . Be it a permanemt or loan deal i hope liverpool bring someone in as quick as possible.I have no idea what money is available but surely there's enough for players like Defoe or Jelavic who wouldn't cost a fortune and yet are proven scorers. While there's reports on loan deals for lads from inter etc are they really the answer even for a short period, They would have to adapt to our weather and speed of our game and i really dont see the point in that move for them reasons.
Its proving costly to our club and were being left behind in 6/7th positon when there is still a great chance of 4th.

Not sure how much longer i can keep positive after another poor performance poor result at home. All the money spent in the summer and still no one that can open up a stubborn defence.Something just not clicking not enough pace and guile out wide need someone to turn the defence to open space in the middle.Teams that come to anfield know there is no danger of our players getting in behind all played in front of them.seriously lacking pace and flair,i know its easy to critisize after a poor result but come on give us something too shout about.

14 Jan 2012 17:50:11
Pretty disappointed with the result this afternoon, but to those saying the performance was bad, we dominated the game just lacked the incisive ball/finish. As a team i thought we played well.

That said i think the team could clearly do with some sort of attacking outlet, to add that ''cutting edge in the final third'' whether that be a finisher or a creative player.

It is frustrating to see some players not playing their 'A' game, especially, like today, when we dominate a game then do not take our chances. But the fact of the matter is we are tough to beat, Stoke had barely a sniff today. Some tighter finishing and that game would've been ours.

Forget the glory days, LFC are coming out of a dark time in our history we need to earn back our place in the champions league it is not a given anymore. Kenny is making us look like a real team again, has us playing nice football and is restoring an identity to the club. Yes we probably should have taken the points today, but hopefully this is a wake up call to the fans who, before the game, were saying the final score would be 3/4/5-0. Rebuilding is hard work and does not happen over night.

Look at citeh, it took them 4 years to eventually be challenging for anything. Growth takes time.

Ur net spend is way beyond that of ur closest competitors over recent seasons, going back to Benitez tenure - how much time do u want ? KK not the magician u all thought - being found out now

Dave you obviously werent there!

14 Jan 2012 17:47:48
I just can't see it working out with KK. One of the Eds said in the summer he thought he was a good stop gap but Liverpool should look forward and not back for a new manager. And John W said he would not have chosen Kenny if it weren't for the fans. He should have listened to the Ed.

14 Jan 2012 17:47:35
boah, I really enjoyed the posts on this site a few month ago. But it's getting worse and worse..

yeah, it's great from some posters. It's really easy to moan every time we didn't win. Come on, that's pathetic...

Everyone knows that we don't have a TOP4 squad THIS year. But again and again you are just playing Fifa Manager and start to tell the whole world who Liverpool should sign and who isn't good enough to wear the red shirt...

But think about your own attitude. If we win erverything is fine but as soon as we don't win you blame everyone..including KK. And what would we do if he resigns?! ...moan about the new manager...

GET BEHIND THE TEAM! That's what's all about being a SUPPORTER. Surley, erveryone can have a different opinion about the formation, who should play...

But be honest, who would join Liverpool at the moment?! Forget all the world class players. They are just not INTERESTED yet. Simple because we are not the big spending team everyone thinks we are and we arent't as succesful as many many other teams. We spend much money last summer but no one was a player in this category. We have spend on young expensive talent in order to refresh the squad. To bulid a new core of players with the desire to wear the read shirt. And until the day we win the league nothing will change. Forget to dream all the day because until this moment Liverpool will always just get the second rated targets at most...

And don't ask the ed's the same question all day...Hazard? He could join Real Madrid!Lucas? He could play in so may teams across Europe! And I could go on. We were just linked with players ManU, Barcelona, Real Madrid etc. wouldn't even have a look at youtube... That's sad but the truth. We have to produce our own world class players in the youth. But these players are not ready yet. Give them one or two years and if they are good enough they will play. kenny knows the way how to introduce youth players in the first team squad and he has done it before... If he thinks they are ready, then they will get some playing time!!

Just one example. Everyone had high hopes of Pacheco! But he doesnt even get a game from the start and is just a sub for a midtable team. He hasn't set the world on fire with his coming ons. But so many posters were just moaning that he wasn't given a few games. He is just not good enough!

Just some facts reagarding the used formation:
- Carroll played the full 90 minutes against City and to be honest, he looked tired an the end. Why start him? Is he the new fitness wonder?
- we haven't played 5 at the back, we had two great wing backs and our game had some great width
- Kuyt was playing, because he is still a full international and we had no other choice
- Bellamy isn't able to play two games in the row and we have to be careful with him
- other attacking option? Maxi? maybe he will leave the Reds. Others? Besides some youth players I don't see one. And to be honest, we have good youth players but a powerful striker? No!

Hope everyone thinks just a little bit more realistic. I'm as frustrated as you that we haven't won but I think we tried the best to do it. With a little bit more luck one or two chance would have gone in and everything would be fine. But as long as we don't improve the squad with some gems, players who were not linked with all the top teams in Europe, we will always just fight to be in the TOP 4...

realty check for everyone

Spencer

Is that you Frank?

14 Jan 2012 17:47:07
Very poor today, Need a striker who will get us goals, Or we will be lucky to finish in the top 6.

John Aldo on City Sport was hilarious - they basically implied that the first half is the most boring game they'd ever seen.

Akmazed kb,kt,mikey, king louis,bob-dont tell him to support another team/support/back the club.He was there,in more ways than one.Knows what hes on about. And speaks for most who go.Suppose he should f off for wanting better aswell eh!

14 Jan 2012 17:45:41
Surely NESV must realize a change needs to happen in the near future. If its not a player then perhaps part of the coaching staff.
I think top 4 is out of the picture for this year, which is fine. If we can get into the Europa I think that will help curb some of our cup appetite.
It's just that these matches are so hard to watch. Normally LFC pick up their play in the second half of the season but obviously we're not seeing that in our prem league matches yet.
If not now, I think NESV will make a big signing in the summer to make sure we grab some better results next year. That's what they've done with their Boston Red Sox.
Eds what would you like to see changed before next season?

Thanks, great site.
AmRed {Ed001's Note - we need a striker, that is the main, really the only, priority.}

14 Jan 2012 17:44:37
I think its completely inconceivable to say Liverpool won't sign a striker this January, too many home draws.
We have looked short up front all season, not just now Suarez is gone.
Slim pickings in January yes but we must be looking to bring somebody in.

MIKEY

I hope your right mikey and we get a striker I am really really pi$$ed off after today. Its clear we need a striker and a bloody winger NOW... NOT THE SUMMER are you listening FSG...

B dy h ll Mikey welcome to the realistic side,Better late than never

14 Jan 2012 17:42:51
Damian Comolli needs to pull his finger out and show his worth instead of taking his bloody trips to Amsterdam coffee bars.... DK we need a striker please!

14 Jan 2012 17:42:11
The moaning oul goats are out in force again today.

Its this simple

1. We do not have a striker especially an in-form striker

2. It looks like we are not buying a striker for whatever reason
a. Its the wrong time of the year and players that are sought after are not available
b. We don't have the money at this time to secure them
c. Kenny thinks we don't need one (this one could hardly bee true!)

We still have some dead wood to get rid of and until they are gone and the squad is strengthened we'll continue to stutter along in fits and starts of good and bad games

As Kenny says "its a work in progress - WIP"

Patience is required and 4th place is probably not on this season, the best we can hope for is a cup and squad development.

How can you say we don't have the money at this time when kenny himself said the funds are available if the right person crops up

I did not say anything merely speculated as to why we are possibly not getting a striker?

Maybe even if we have the funds the board won't sanction a striker at this time?

14 Jan 2012 17:41:37
everyone on here last year was prasing kenny for the 3 5 2 he played against stoke saying 3 at the back to combat there height at set peices was a masterstroke then now cause we didnt win its all wrong.
were all disapointed with the result but the game did show we need more flair players. i for one would love to see Krisztian Adorjan giving a chance hes in the modric mould with more goal threat.

belfast red adam

14 Jan 2012 17:40:58
It is becoming embarrassing. (No disrespect to stoke or other teams) but to play teams like that at Anfield and not to be able to score at least one goal. How many draws at home now? We are Liverpool football club in the premier league not a club from the second division. We cant even score one goal it is embarrassing

Maybe ya team isnt as good as ya think,ya always on about, liverpool great history, massive club, but lets be honest in the prem what have you really achieved a couple of runners up at best, you will hate this but at the mo ya europa team at best, and am not being funny just honest.(by the way not knocking what you achieved in 70s and 80s and champs lge wins) football realist

14 Jan 2012 17:39:53
Is this not Liverpool Football club?
Are we not one of the biggest clubs in the world champions league football or not?.......And have we not been reported as having a fair war chest?...then ffs sake lets get spending it!.........we need quality and we should be able to attract it as we are LFC!!.....come on its not rocket science to see what we need!

Its all about the money

We need a sheik with a cheque book!

Sadly nowadays a lot is about cash

14 Jan 2012 17:39:35
hey eds is there any chance on rafa coming back to us? kenny is to old fasioned and his tactics are just terrible!

Are you mental...

Ed you should ban people under the age of 18 from this site, some of the posts after the game are a joke.

gee man

14 Jan 2012 17:38:46
Ahoy - I imagine (and with just cause) there will be much anger and frustration vented on this site in the next few hours.

So I will try and refrain from individual criticism and draw your attention to the facts, and will state the very obvious.

The Top 4 clubs have all scored 39, 40, 52, and 56 goals resepctively. We have managed a pitiful 24.

Maybe todays performance is a reminder to those who hold the cheque book - we need to either promote from within or buy goal scoring talent - NOW.

It is impossible to compete for the Top 4 positions if you average 1 goal per game - as statistically you cannot win a game in which you concede.

It is hard to defend or justify that we are unbeaten at home this season - we could have lost 5 games at home and only been 1 point worse off.

Struggling to find any humour or joy in todays result or performance.

Hopefully it was Kuyt's last run out in red - the time has come for him to move on.

As a dutchman I heard that Kuyt wears inflatable shoes - BUT HE POPPED HIS CLOGS.

For all you skeptics, Bent scored for Villa.

14 Jan 2012 17:36:15
Hi eds, any further developments on players we might looking to bring in this transfer window?

Another goalless draw today, which proves that we need to bring in forward who can score goals. I still have my doubts on carroll, in fact i have not seen him play well in any game - his touch, hold up play is shocking, showing no technical ability nor is he fast.

I hope we do buy some quality players but to be honest, we are not going to make top 4. Top 3 are already settled with spurs, man city and Man Utd. Fourth place will be between arsenal and Chelsea. Potentially we may get Europa league football but to be honest, that's not the same as champions league football and will not attract the top players.

Sorry rant over.

Concerned Red

If we win the carling cup we will be in the europa cup whatever happens if we dont get champions league i couldnt care less where we finish in the league .

If you dont care where we finish in leauge you dont care about our future, think about it

14 Jan 2012 16:57:11
The Eds keep saying that Sterling etc are too young and they are right - but too many of today's squad are too OLD - Kuyt,Carragher,Aurelio in the selection is utterly ridiculous. Let's get this Carling Cup won, a place in Europe and bring on the lads. They will at least show a bit of enthusiasm.

What a pathetic formation, tactics n genral play from our manager.
He is a legend but as a manager I don't like his buys, did not like his poor handelling of suarez situation and his approach.I love my LFC but don't like him as manager.

Hey mate he's absolutely spot on....the truth hurts and genuine fans are hurt by that shambles on an off the pitch.....I'm one of them and you need to get the rose coloured specks off!

Why? because he has an opinion?

Mucho you are the fool just another person who thinks kenny can do no wrong , hes not upta the job and has wasted a lot of money, time to cut all ties with the past and start by sacking kenny .hes king no more .

pd

A fool , why , because he disagrees with you? As a fan he stated an opinion which he has a right to. The fool is in your bathroom hanging on the wall. Have a LOOK.

Rose coloured specs? We wear red mate, a true fan would know this. How can anyone "not like" Kenny Dalglish as liverpool manager, he is a legend of the game and that is truly fact. As a liverpool fan I am upset that such a legend of this club could be given such little time to RE-PROVE himself. So suarez was a bad buy, bellamy, henderson, coates, enrique were all bad buys also? Wonder if Gerrard and Carragher would agree?
Perhaps you should follow Torres to Chelsea...

14 Jan 2012 16:57:02
Say what you want I'm all for supporting the team and the manager. But to play kuyt as a lone striker and have five defenders on against a physical defensive side is just unbelievable. Really showed that he had got it wrong when he brought on Carroll, gave that extra dimension upfront and physical presence.. We are crying out for a new striker. Surely a man who spent years freely scoring can understand this and saw this a long time ago so surely one would expect that they would want to get any transfers done as quickly as possible.. I know people are going to slate me and say that I'm not a real fan but we are never going to get 4th at this rate both arsenal and Chelsea have had really bad spells where they have earned minimal amount of points yet we find ourselves behind them.. Quick question what is the ratio of our goals of penalties and non penalties?

14 Jan 2012 16:56:41
Time to be honest ,Dalglish Has lost the plot that team selection had 0-0 all over it, we never looked like we whould score with that team , as someone said before if hodgson whould have picked that team there would be murder

He has spaint a Fair bit of cash , and team arnt as good as the team with Raul and Maxi how he finished end of last season now chelsea are 5 points ahead

Garbage , as much as Kuyt works hard he really is finished , Downing is at present offering nothing , Henderson works hard but him and Drirk in same team offer nothing

Resting players for the calling cup is a Joke , Just play your best team

K.O.B

14 Jan 2012 16:56:32
how can kenny be happy with this squad.no creativity and no imagination.kennys buys have been dreadful REDMICK

14 Jan 2012 16:56:11
An absolute disgrace of tactics nouse from Kenny - I'm worried he is not up it when it counts - looks like 6th place at best and no champions league - worry about Carroll ? have you seen downing no bottle at all he is mentally not fit

14 Jan 2012 16:56:09
once again, just like blackburn, we are trying to outmuscle the most phisical sides in the league by playing carroll etc.

We have no chance in the air against stoke and blackburn but kenny doesn't learn his lesson.

Bellamy should have started... again!!

Bellamy can't start every match due to a knee problem, so Kenny went with Kuyt! Trouble with that was, he didn't get much support and we were left with shooting from range mainly, although even as a Kuyt supporter, thought he should have put that header away, even with the cross being deflected!
Maybe it's time for the reserves to step up, I don't know, but something needs to happen!

Keith

14 Jan 2012 17:35:38
Just on another slant - Carroll v Crouch. Carroll has the appearance that he could/should put himself about and bully defenders, whereas Crouch looks like he could be blown away in a stiff breeze. So why does Crouch win so many more in the air than Carroll? And Crouch's touch is much better...

May be Carroll has the "Bad Touch" and needs the bloodhound gang.

14 Jan 2012 17:27:45
Hey Ed001 what do you make of the game today.I think we should offload kuyt and maxi this window to buy or loan a striker and winger or just give chances to morgan and sterling.I know they are young but it will only help them instead of the players who we know arent going to be here after the summer(arent playing well either).Rest of the team is great. {Ed001's Note - Kuyt was poor today, worked hard but his touch was poor and his work was always going away from goal leaving us with no one up front. I would let him go, I would rather see Adorjan or Morgan given a chance than persevere with Kuyt, who is only going to get older.}

Couldnt agree more Ed.I would also offload maxi. He isnt a Bad player but kenny doesnt play him that often and he doesnt give us the width and crosses which we are craving for.

Also are we getting any closer to the Inter milan kid ? I think even he could do job for us.I was watching the match and gerrard was looking for 1-2 and through balls but didnt have any one to give it to as neither kuyt nor carroll have the pace.A pacy striker would flourish in our setup.

14 Jan 2012 17:33:50
Them lot will no doubt be on our pages after they won giving it loads but where were they after blackburn etc thats right hiding afterall they only sing and gob off when they're winning and thats a fact !

We don't sing a lot then!!

Everyone does that princess.

If you do that princess it shows how fickle you are eh girls blouse

14 Jan 2012 17:33:20
yet another draw at home and all because we dont have a striker, its shocking that after all the money spent we have nobody able to score on a regular basis, surly the management should realise that not addressing this problem now will cost us a top 4 finish and maybe kenny his job.we need a striker now because carroll is hopeless and suarez when he returns is not clinical enough and i know that people on here will start makeing excuses for them but its time we accept that if kk dont do what needs to be done now then we will never get the players that we all want . what star player wants to join a team that cnt even get into europe.time to stop living in the past and start worrying about the future of this once great club that we love so much.

pd

And why play 5 centre backs at home against a team not noted for their attacking ideas(kenny too negative hence 7 home draws).
red mick tag

3 centre backs , sorry typing error.

14 Jan 2012 17:32:08
What I do not understand is why Maxi is out of the team. Every time he plays he scores. Why is he left out. There are romours that he may leave. OK until then make the best out of him. Henderson gets a pass and he does not even try to go forward he passes the ball to someone else. He is not confidence to go forward. Take him out and out shelve y there. In my opinion he is five times the player that Henderson is.

Every time we get a draw some people say is better than a loss. OK but look at the table, every time we draw the gap wets wider. Tomorrow we will be 7th.

14 Jan 2012 17:30:30
Cannot disagree enough with peeps saying this result is a building block and a step in the right direction, incorrect tactics, poor buys in the summer, these are professional players how long do they need to gel! Kuyt god love him but he has got to go, losing Lucas is costing us points he was our most consistent player. I am gutted by another poor performance with no glimpses of progress, spend the funds on a poacher now! Defoe? Hoilett? Ba? Anyone who knows how to hit the onion bag! Depressed Devon red !

14 Jan 2012 17:35:20
Can't believe people on here saying we need to buy a striker,we don't we need to sign 2 QUALITY strikers,2 QUALITY wingers, and a DM player and a ANOTHER PLAYMAKER

ALso people saying we are only getting 1-2 players in the box,why has it took them all this time to notice this, I have been saying this all season WE ARE FAR TOO NEGATIVE

Get rid of ADAM,DOWNING,KUYT,JOHNSON,CARROLL,MAXI and most of all DALGLISH

Alan50

Your on the wrong site , Won one have you..?

Dalgliesh is the best man for liverpool you should be disgusted with the crap your talking get a life.

14 Jan 2012 17:29:28
Hope liverpool fans who wanted Rafa Benitez to be sacked are happy now!

Rafa was worse then Kenny

We need 'arry

I am hoping that he will be back. He always said that he would love to return after KK steps down.
people can say what they like but when Rafa was here we made the Champs league most seasons, i always felt that we could get things from games.
Now i just have no confidence at all when playing games, and feel we are going backwards. But hey we are in the semis of the legaue cup! people are acting like it means anything,
People will slate me for saying this but our squad is mid table, no disrespect to stoke but most of our players would not be out of place in a team like there's. At least under Rafa we had world class stars, who are now playing for the best teams in europe. If Rafa have had the money KK has been given i would bet my mortgage things would have been different.
But we all know that for some people nothing bad can be said about KK they players just need time. But how long, Woy needed time also but he wasnt given it.

rushdentillidie

Iam a rangers fan and i watched your team play under benitez yous,e were awful total negetive football considering the way liverpool were used to playing previousely, kenny will get it right for use be patient.

Roy lacked the personna, aura and belief of KK he will be given time, the americanos cannot sack the manager every few months its not Chelsea

14 Jan 2012 17:29:24
Will everyone stop bloody moaning?! If Kuyt had put that header away or Andy got that penalty and we won 1-0 you'd all be saying "Good solid performance, professional, winning like that is what champions do. . ."

I admit that if it was Roy and not Kenny in charge everyone would be calling for his head on a silver platter but that's a good thing, stability will prove the way forward. Maybe not right now but be patient.

By the way, I'm only 22 so I'm not blindly in love with Kenny because I remember the good old days, I'm just sick of all this impatience.

Anyway, I think we all assume the target is the top four this season but I was wondering if anyone actually remembers Kenny saying that? It strikes me that top four is becoming unlikely, it's hard to see us finishing ahead of Chelsea or Arsenal this season (not saying it won't happen, just wouldn't bet on it).

I personally think the club are putting a squad together to get in the top four next season, bed in some reliable prem players this year and add some flair and talent over the summer when the prices aren't ridiculous. What do the Eds think about this?

Sorry about the long post, just want to encourage everyone to think of the bigger picture before they furrow their brows and whine at something they probably don't fully understand.

Kop Chris

If, if, if
It's all people say we were carp and we deserved to draw, which funnily enough is obviously what we played for
Kuyt is not good enough and the only positive for Carroll is that he can't get worse

It's always if, if we had put the penaltys away if we had not hit the posts so many times yes things could of been different but they are not.

Everything possible with big IF im so sorry if dobt bring results manager and his signings are poor apart from bellamy, enrique, suarez, coates

'Our main goal is to qualify for the Champions League. If we don't it would be a major disappointment.' John Henry (DM Aug 2011)

Kenny may not have said top 4 is the target, but our esteemed owner has certainly made his thoughts very clear...

SingRed

I didn't realise "if" was a swear word here. . . Anyway, disgruntled keyboard bashers I think you missed my point (I know it's hard when you're eyes are that close together). My point was that you can't just call for a regime change every time we don't win at home, yes it was a poor display and yes the tactics seemed negative but it's just one game. Look how long the likes of City and Chelsea took to become successful with all that investment that you're calling for.

Also, remember Fregie was criticised early on in his reign but he was given time and look how that worked out.

Thanks for the reply SingRed, I don't remember that statement. Surely that plan has been changed now though, looks like NESV are in for a "major disappointment"

Also to the guy who says the signings are poor and then goes on to name four good ones: thanks, I needed a giggle to cheer me up

Kop Chris

14 Jan 2012 17:29:12
Once again it's the same old story. Of course we won't score goals, DK is a rusted machine (no disrespect to him he works hard but his days are over.. a good servant of the club), we have an immature striker for whom we paid an astonishing 35M against all odds (to sit on the bench and to learn how to play.. he should join the academy learn from the likes of Morgan & Sterling) & a dumb overrated winger for whom we paid 20M to service him.

Then the game plan..no way DK all alone upfront 'll be able to get something against a physical Stoke side & Carragher at Midfield is a lame idea to consider. Should have been 3-5-2..

With almost no major signings to be made in January, bye bye top4. Would be glad if we win some cup with a bit of luck. Kenny blew the chance to return to the top by one massive mistake ..to buy Andy Carroll instead of some matured striker who knows how to score.

14 Jan 2012 17:28:15
Wish everybody would stop posting s**te about who is joining as this club is finish never b same club as years ago stop living in past and be happy with 6th every season . Also wat player would want to play for overrated team anyway only likes of Adam and the Blackpool donkey Carroll wat a sack of s**t

Stupid Boy!! Oh! A tad more work needed on the Grammar! Surely they have night schools in Manchester. Book a course.

14 Jan 2012 17:27:17
Well just like every game at home this season my only thought without going mental is that we didnt lose it feels like we did though
Tik-Tok kenny sign decent players or I feel you could be out regardless of the league cup, fa cup or transitional period
This is not good enough

14 Jan 2012 17:26:57
We need new signings asap! Everyone can see it exept Dalglish! The game against Stoke was absolutely horrible! 5 defenders at home against Stoke!? Of the top 7, we're the most likely team to not qualify for the CL! Not proud to be a red today... So sad :(

14 Jan 2012 17:26:07
i think that todays performance showed we need more fire power and creativity up front. we had all the possesion and still couldnt manage to carve a clear cut chance. please kenny go out and get a goal scorer i have never seen liverpool so shy in front of goal and its costing us a place in the cl next season

14 Jan 2012 17:26:04
Hi Ed, with Kenny saying that we'll be quiet this month, do you not think today's performance kinda says we need to do something. All the fans are crying out for a proven striker but why can't Kenny see it? Do you expect a goalscorer to be bought? thanks

14 Jan 2012 17:25:42
Why play no recognised forward today KK? So negative. Another two points dropped at home.

14 Jan 2012 17:25:03
5-4-1 at Anfield?

What a joke!

14 Jan 2012 17:25:01
When will KK ever learn, never by the looks fo it, KUYT, KUYT, KUYT, the man is just terrible. I know many fans love him because he works hard haha. It doesn't matter that he can't head, tackle, shoot, pass or cross, plus can't control a ball and passes to the other team more than his own players. Any Liverpool fan who thinks Dirk Kuyt should be playing for Liverpool needs help. He is just one BIG joke of a player.

14 Jan 2012 17:23:12
cant help but be negative when we play like that we are so predictable from midfield nothing up front to even threaten goal if funds are available best use them now and bring in more creativity to even think of a top 4 finish which is starting to become a step too far

14 Jan 2012 17:22:15
Todays match is another sign that we lack a quality finisher, the next few months are very important for LFC and a goal scorer seems to be vital, a bit of creativity in midfield wouldn't go a miss either, it was a solid performance against city but we still failed to score a goal in play

14 Jan 2012 17:21:14
Hi Edds

Am I the only Liverpool fan who wants kenny out before he really hurts the club?

This guy is wasting our money on s**t players, Bellemy has been our best player how much did he cost? £0000, yet players like Downing, Adam, Carroll cost £55m what have they brought to the table.......... nothing.

He Let Torres, Raul, Aqua, Bable go because they didn't want to play the way this person KK plays. {Ed001's Note - I would rather let you go personally.}

Not quite a nice way to respond, ed. As for me I fully agree with the previous post (and I believe the case is not peculiar to myself). Tonite's disgrace is nothing but a Kenny's fiasco. He just hasn't got what it takes to get us any further

14 Jan 2012 17:20:19
life long liverpool fan and i am disgusted with the sheer lack off guts to win. Over the last couple of years all i see is a team and management that is scared to lose rather then go for the win today's game was lets face it a disgrace playing a game where you have 60 odd per cent possession and 1 player in the box to get on the end of crosses it is a joke i am not one for blaming who was brought in to the club lately (ie carrol, hendo, downing) they need some support from the fans that's our job as fans but would love to see the liverpool i know and love and just go for it all guns blazing at least i would feel happy knowing we give it our best shot and wasn't plain scared of the thought of losing. Another 2 points lost today lets hope next week we take off them shackles and go for the win (KK NO GUTS NO GLORY)

14 Jan 2012 17:20:14
poor poor poor..forget 4th place just cant see now.we just cant score.we need a class forward big time

14 Jan 2012 17:19:47
Have held back from airing his for some time but need to get it off my chest. We all support our team irrespective of the players on the pitch and the manager in charge but sometimes you just have to face facts.
I had said to my lfc mates after a few games that we would flatter to deceive.
When KK bought Carroll it seemed like a panic buy to me, something to placate the fans after Torres went. Why didn't he just wait until the summer to reinvest. Its not like Carroll was fit when he joined.
I was also told by Villa fans that Downing was their best player last year, not sure what that really tells us but I was never convinced and still am not. I'm also not sure what Henderson brings to the team but he looks like one for the future so long as he's played in the right position.
As for Kuyt, its all been said by all of us for long enough.
Creativity is seriously lacking as is goalscoring but I now thats stating the obvious.
There's bait of an old boys network in football in England whereby certain players/managers are beyond any criticism and if they are there's a ganging up by the old boys network.
Lets see what the likes of Lawrenson, Hansen, Winter etc make of KK's return. My bet it will focus on how the club is more stable now than before (granted) as opposed to how poor some of his purchases and certain team selections have been. Lets see.

Bang on supporting your team DOES not mean you should be blind

14 Jan 2012 17:18:20
What a crap game .why 5 at the back against stoke and at home .top 4 no way .
If hodgson managed today with that defensive line up we be slating him
Need attacking options
Paul ynwa77

We did last time and won, so can understand the 3 centre backs, but Kuyt was too isolated for most of the match!

Keith

14 Jan 2012 17:17:50
goodbye 4th place

I am sure if newcastle win tomorrow then we will be 7th

14 Jan 2012 17:17:29
Ok people need to calm down!! We didnt lose we got a point. Yes i know its just a point but jeez it all counts in the end! We still have the carling cup and fa cup and champions league/ europa league is still obtainable. I dont get why people undermise Kenny i think we need to realise he knows what he is doing if he left bellamy and caroll on the bench there was a reason. If he played 5 defenders theres a reason ...he knows what he is doing people just leave him alone stop crticising him and caroll and kuyt and downing and lfc in general keep the faith guys give it time it doesnt help you guys jumping down there throats every game... You cat call yourself a liverpool fan if you act that way lfc family through thick and thin.. Kenny knows what needs to be done he knows what type of players need to be bought he knows where he wants to bring liverpool so just eff off if ye are going to keep acting like this cause its nt helping anyone its just pissing people off

If kk knows what he is doing then he will spend some serious cash this week! We cannot wait for luis to return! So angry with tactics, and team selection lets bring in sterling what is the worst that can happen? He scores a goal !

If you are happy with home draws against lower opposition then maybe you should support a team with no ambition.

Sorry but on what planet are you on? Kenny was great for LFC and I hold him in high regard. However, if you think that after 12 months carroll will come good, and that kenny knows what he is doing then you must be smoking something pretty good.

regardless of whether stoke parked the bus or not, we were negative - i mean reall6 5/4/1 at home and bellamy on the bench. This is not exceptable SIMPLE! stop spouting this rubbish too about the lfc family and lfc way. I have been a red for 35 years now and I can tell you that it is not good enough and we deserve better.

I used to agree with you about kenny but I'm under the impression now he's lost the plot,at home you don't play that team that he picked today and I'm sorry to say the owners now will be thinking that's not good enough as well, carra's been a legend to us but I'm sorry his playing days are over for me because you need to get the ball from defenders and distribute it quickly and he can't do that we are worrying about the other teams tomuch what's the point drawing all the time I would take losing a few more but winning more games,we are starting to look like roys our manager again. Pk

Look it's lost points against a crap side, that is why we are not 4th and never will be until things start to change. Forget titles, forget Champions League, where has Liverpool FC gone. I'm sick of seeing Man Utd win time and time again!

Maybe he got confused and thought we were playing against Inter Milan?

SingRed

If it was Utd , Chelsea in town today. Would we have gone for the draw , Be Cautious, with five at the back. Wrong Selection, But the players in the red shirt should take a good luck in the mirror tonight.

14 Jan 2012 17:16:05
If the king believes that this team does'nt need any new players than he has to go.How can he not see that we need a right winger and a striker, even with suares there we still struggle to score.Just pay the 8m for Hoilett or splash out on Remy who has great pace an eye for goal and can play on the wing or striker. If we don't buy we have no chance of a top 4.

No chance anyway so.....

Agree we need pacey players and someone who can score othawise we aint getting european football.

Why do people still support KENNY don't get me wrong the man is a legend but he makes to many mistakes we spent 100 million and can't get into the top 4 people have to understand that Liverpool is so much bigger,

Why have we bought. Downing he can't cross never beats first defender Carroll don't stand a chance if he don't get the ball

14 Jan 2012 17:16:04
Quite simply not good enough! We need pace and someone who knows where the net is! Why are we paying these teams so much respect? Buy an out and out goal-getter now!!

No pace I agree and you take of the one player that has pace Downing, just don't get the formation Kenny put in today and why is kuyt still playing for LFC no control no pace nothing really frustated...

14 Jan 2012 17:15:32
nice hearing didi hamman and mcateer on lfc.tv.true what they say about result.mcateer saying we need a clinical finisher someone who just stays in the box.very true.didi saying we need another wide player as cant rely on bellamy and downing not performing.very true again.so where are these players.if we cant afford them then give silva/sterling and morgan a chance.kuyt needs togo.we need players in now kenny we wont get fourth drawing all the time.DORSET RED

14 Jan 2012 17:15:26
very disappointed with what i saw today. we need a striker defo. don't want to slag our own players of but that was not good enough.

Great performance

14 Jan 2012 17:15:08
Raheem Sterling! Wilshere began playing bpl football at 17!

We need to start giving the youngsters a chance othawise its pointless having a reserve team.

Think he needs to bulk himself up, as strength wise he'll get hammered in the PL. Good player though, just needs time.

Keith

Thanks for bigging up Arsenal!

14 Jan 2012 17:14:58
So who are all you Carroll basher's gonna blame today? Their's 11 men in a team, they win as one, lose as one and today drew as one. We've battered most teams without much luck, today would have been nice for a bit of luck were we didn't play well but sneak a win. Let's all get behind the team instead of keep blaming individuals after each game.

Culligan

How can you get behind a team of lazy, can't be ar*sed individuals that can't play football consistently.

14 Jan 2012 17:14:51
We need a midfield player who can dart in to the space with the ball and not just keep passing it sideways.
We go from one side of the pitch to the other and then back again, yes we keep possession but with no penetration. Oh! and Carroll lumbering around upfront is not helping.
Suarez, Eriksson and Higuain are the sort of players that's missing from our set up. We've got one of the 3 please go and get the other 2.
kidmillions

14 Jan 2012 17:14:50
Europa league..... Here we come.....

Lfc fan (from Cardiff)

Don't worry, we don't even have a chance of that.....6th is the absolute best we will achieve while we play that kind of football at home.

Get a grip Kenny or move aside.

14 Jan 2012 17:14:25
I'm not gonna slate the team or manager coz I SUPPORT lfc but I'm really disappointed. We need players but it's a bad time to get them with euros coming up so I'd say go for broke and throw some kids in there with some pace to try and change the game if plan a fails coz we have no one who can change a game apart from Bellamy.

Look i'm a big Liverpool fan, but somethings got to give. Either bring in players who want to play and win or give the youth side a chance. Liverpool seem in all the years of watching them to promote decent youth players. Sterling, Ibe, Suso they all play well and them leave due to lack of 1st team action, due to an inability by staff to give them a shot.

Stevie G and Carragher are the exceptions, listen to them.

14 Jan 2012 17:13:22
Luc Castaignos

What about Zarate or Coutinho?

That is who they are trying to sign, yes..

Cheers

Which of the 3 is it, Castaignos?
{Ed005's Note - Please don't try and post claiming to be Macca again or you will be BANNED.}

14 Jan 2012 17:13:16
Absolutely annoyed today kuyt needs to go...adam offered nothing if I'm being honest not hating on him just offers nothing for us, no creative players I think someone needs to beg kenny to bring in a player like kagawa who instead of passing will try something.we need a solid striker I like carroll but we can't score and have been outscored by 2 of the bottom 3 teams that's just embarrassing, and if I'm being honest I think even castaignos would be 10x more effective than our strikers. The biggest problem is we're missing lucas soo much without him gerrard has to stay back we need gerrard in attacking mid.
On a lighter note coates and skrtle were solid enrique was solid aswell.

KingMiz

14 Jan 2012 17:13:03
Atleast before we were playing exciting football. Such a boring and lifeless performance today. I will be livid if we dont bring a striker in. 24 goals in 21 matches is relegation status. Bring in Sow and Hoillet for some spark.

14 Jan 2012 17:12:16
I'm assuming you all still wouldn't take Bent?

14 Jan 2012 17:11:07
If we are going to put out such a defensive formation at home then what are we trying to achieve. Please Kenny if you have no faith in Carroll just get rid, would rather the likes of Adam Morgan and Raheem Sterling be given a chance if you,as it appears, have already given up hope of Champions League for next season.I know I have after watching another 90 minutes of sheer crap at Anfield.

Derek

14 Jan 2012 17:10:58
Kenny needs to replace Downing, Carroll and Adam as soon as possible and pray to God that the owners will finance another splurge as they are not and will never, be good enough to play for Liverpool. And to anyone who points to how far we have come; we are 1 point better off than at this stage in 2010 which was an awful season and Benitez's last. Will it be Kenny's? I hope not but if I were him, I would sell those three and stop buying British. We can already fill our quota.

Ash

14 Jan 2012 17:10:52
Hope that performance wakes kenny up into realising we do need signings at least some pace and creativity I no he tried to get people playing who haven't played much carra and kuyt but no need for 3 centre backs Today at all

14 Jan 2012 17:10:12
i highly dissapointed in kd,same formation throughout.
dnt blame carrol or kuyt blame kd,if kd cant take us 2top 4 sack him

Andy carrol is letting your club down ive watched him recently hes never a 35 million player he looks unfit looks more of a party boy than anything look up to scotland for your penalty box strikers jelivic and hooper at celtic far better than carrol and cheaper.

14 Jan 2012 17:09:57
Any idea anybody what was wrong with Agger today?

Sooty

14 Jan 2012 17:08:52
When Suarez will be back to play? Which game?

14 Jan 2012 17:08:26
Has the fact the Maxi was left out of today's game got something to do with him being sold?

14 Jan 2012 17:08:08
Only 1 positive from that performance, it might make Kenny and Commoli sign an attacking player, a striker and a winger are desperately needed. Podolski and Hoilett please!
YNWA

Goal scorer = not hoilett

14 Jan 2012 17:07:55
edd i told ya he was setting himself up for a fall even when stoke are offering nothing up front he still leaves 5 defenders on and takes of downing and henderson players with pace and attacking about them just stupid he really needs to buy now for gods sake wake up now stoke at home with that side and tactics just gobsmacked

Do you not thnk hes tryng to sign someone? do you not realise it actually takes time to get players in?

14 Jan 2012 17:07:44
You kinda expect tis result every game now, sick of slagg'n players off, if funds are available as KK keeps saying, now is the time to purchase a striker wit experience, or at least give Adam Morgan a run instead of the likes of Kuyt, the worst Morgan can do is to score a goal.
JayB

14 Jan 2012 17:07:25
OMG another draw at home, this is just not good enough. We have ideas of getting into the top four. No chance ! We need a top quality striker here and now not one for the future. Its ok saying we got Carroll, kuyt, bellamy none of them are going to get us is the 25 goals a season we crave. Suarez frightens defenders. Im so frustrated at the moment watching Liverpool, liverpool fans are the most supportive fans around. The teams around us are not very good this year and I beleave we are missing out on over taking these teams. Please please please Kenny go out and buy a proven goal scorer some 1 whos in the right place at the right time. Kuyt headed sitter proves its time for him to move on, he brings nothing other than hardwork rate to the team anymore. Sorry to rant its just frustraiting

14 Jan 2012 17:07:02
its starting to become a joke adam is just not good anuf for liverpool we need start giveing young players a chance to see if they can get a few goals

dom lovelock

Laughable!

I agree i'm sorry to mention names but charlie adam is just not good enough his passing ,crossing and wastefull long shots are getting worse every time i watch him.

14 Jan 2012 17:06:49
Not a great result but we are building just nicely we are building from the back which is so important and hopefully everything else will fall into place in time just need a little patience.

Mighty reds

Mighty Reds, you need to go and buy a house on the MOON

We've had about 6 months of patience!!
Mine has ran out

Carroll did well when he came on should have had a pen or two.
k-h

My patience with LFC and KK will never run out - and I am sure I speak for all TRUE fans when I say this.

Should have had the right boots on to start with! Like Didi said, he only had the one pair!

Keith

14 Jan 2012 17:06:25
We need to sign more creative players! We've struggled so much in front of goal this season. Surely KK and DC know something needs to be done. 4th place is beginning to slip away. We need goals!

Defoe
Hoillett
Ba??

These are players that are obtainable and proven in the premiership. Please Kenny!

14 Jan 2012 17:06:06
Cant find a positive to take today! Did we play 3-6-1? Its like Dalglish doesnt trust his strikers,I dont think Kuyt offered enough! Sorry to say it but this just isnt good enough! Thought Coates did well! There we are, managed to find one!
Changes needed Mr Dalglish and Mr Commoli!
Please,New Strikers!
WelshboyDave

14 Jan 2012 17:04:30
People need to realise that we won't sign anyone as kenny is happy with this "team"
The excuse of us being in transition cannot be used for much longer as something already needs to be seriously changed

14 Jan 2012 17:04:29
How much is Andy Carroll really worth? I really do wish we had never had bought him. Absolutely can't stand watching his lumbering style of play. " Not just saying this now; when the news broke we had bought him for 35m, remember thinking your messing, what the fook!
Great pity you can't buy on a sale or return in football cos I think he would have been well returned.
kidmillions

Carroll did nothing wrong today, was constantly pulled down. he is not our fall guy let it go the tactics were wrong today. please stop the carroll bashing its sad and boring now. tactics wrong, kenny got it wrong the end. j canada

Behave. He is f**king horse s**t, £35m, £3 mil, 3p, a striker at any level in any team in any league that can't score goals (or offer the team anything) is not doing his job, it's embarrassing to see, would he get in utds, Chelsea's, arsenals or city's teams, these are the teams we are battling with, ever heard the expression that love is blind? Be realistic, we won't get top 4 with this shower of s**te!!

14 Jan 2012 17:04:05
SSN are reporting that Liverpool are monitering the Defoe situation.
Oh god after another rubbish 0-0 draw we need something and fast.

14 Jan 2012 17:02:37
Well played Enrique motm. special mention to Stevie and Johnson. The team was set up not to lose, and that's what we've got, Stoke parked the bus, just as we parked the bus against Citeh. No complains.

14 Jan 2012 17:01:54
I know I'll ve slated dor this but as a true lfc fan u am allowed to rant our formation was overly defensive why leave Carroll in the bench why five defenders are we becoming stoke?kk is a legend but even he gets in wrong buy a striker for gods sake why not play maxi?I'm starting to get fed up and so are other fans.we beat city one week the next we're limp.I hate to say this but maybe Kenny's not the one to guide us to top four.

14 Jan 2012 17:01:18
Great Result Kenny,ANOTHER S---E PERFORMANCE,it took 70mins to have our 1st shot on target,we started with 3 cb's at HOME to the MIGHTY STOKE and our prolific scorer kuyt up front.

MOST IMPORTANTLY OF ALL IS WE KEPT A CLEAN SHEET

KING KENNY FOR MANAGER OF THE YEAR FOR BEING CONSISTENTLY AND UTTERLY NEGATIVE

Alan50 {Ed001's Note - did you not watch the game then? Only Henderson had the first shot on target in the first half. Obviously escaped you, along with any other knowledge of football.}

I agree with ED

Agree with most of this post, thought we were lame, skrtel did have a decent match, but was that because everyone else looked so poor, oh and ed maybe he did miss the Hendo attempt in the first half, but since when did you become the football oracle?, no need for snide remarks, this was his interpretation of a very poor performance.

Hey Ed the writer might have got his facts wrong about whenthe fiirst shot was on target after 70 mins but everything else are valid comments. If you're somehow happy with that formation, tactics and creativitiy, you ain't no Liverpool fan. Shocker of a performance and KK thinks he's untouchable I'm afraid!

14 Jan 2012 17:01:09
Huge KK fan but this summer I can honestly see a new manager coming in. Our target was Top 4 I cant see us making 4th or even 5th/6th. All those saying how badly we played will get slaughtered later on like always saying how were not supporting the team, etc, etc but this is now beyond a joke. I said a few weeks ago not to expect signings and I stand by what I said. I usually post on here after poor games and I've been criticized for it before but I think more people are seeing things for how they are .

Hans {Ed001's Note - there's a surprise, you only post after poor results! Bit difficult to post your whines after a win I guess.....}

14 Jan 2012 17:00:47
worst Liverpool team i have ever seen. These players should all go as they are a disgrace in football. kuyt, carroll, aurelio, skirtel, get lost and never come back. sell the others as well. sack Kenny now. top 4 is gone now. Carling cup and fa cup means nothing to me. another season without champions league. what a joke. {Ed001's Note - Skrtel? He had a good game today and was our only attacking threat down the right as Johnson had wandered off somewhere at some point during the game. Not sure where he went, possibly the bar to get the bevvies in for the post match drinks.}

Bit harsh no name poster, sounds like u need to buy a toffee shirt.

aussiepool tristan

Wow brave comments eh, obviously a Badmington player. oh dear you left your name off by mistake......or did you.

Sooty

I've been right behind all of your comments today Ed001 until this unnecessary statement about Johnson. Your dislike of him is clouding your judgement

Chris in Tamworth {Ed001's Note - no, he was stood in the centre of midfield for the entire second half when we were crying out for some width down the right. He was poor today, again, Downing and Skrtel offered all the balance on the right because he was missing. The few times he was out there look at how much better we looked! He needs to learn to stay out wide until the ball is about to be crossed in from the opposite flank when playing as a wing back. With a wing back system, the width has to be provided by the wing backs and he failed to provide enough of it. The lad has so much ability it frustrates me that he is not applying himself and performing at the level he should every game. As I have said before I don't dislike him, he seems a nice lad, but his play is frustrating. Nothing worse than wasted talent.}

You need to grow up or take a pill or something.

Edd1 get a grip gj was are biggest fret going forward you keep saying did you watch the game properly well did you cause are best 3 players were coates adam glen why not blast kenny for his team choice and dam right negative tactics remember liverpool is nothing with out its fans and we are aloud to be dissapointed! {Ed001's Note - I agree, Johnson made me fret when he was going forward in the centre, instead of providing threat out wide like he should have been.}

Ed, genius comment above, lol. Pure gold.

Carb

To be honest Ed001, at 27, I don't think he is going to learn that kind of things now. I have always thought he was a bit in the tactical department of defending. But, you can't just blame him, it was collectively a very poor performance. Not a lot of passion except from Gerrard, Kuyt and Skrtel I think.

14 Jan 2012 17:05:27
kenny said hes happy with the squad hes of his rocker we need a pacy winger desperately we luk lost in the final third we cant break teams down the hawk

14 Jan 2012 17:05:05
Very very poor. Stoke still remain the most boring team in the prem. Raheem Sterling? Why oh why is he not on the bench. He would have been great to bring on at the end with his pace. Andy Carroll? Where has his strength gone, he is always on the floor, it's like having Heskey back. And those of you calling for KK's head, shame on you!

14 Jan 2012 17:03:21
Lets face it as much as i hate to say it, Liverpool will sign nobody due to the fact nobody will want to come to a side that has an inability to score goals.

Sign a a bloody striker KK!!

14 Jan 2012 17:03:20
John Henry, give Kenny 30 million for a striker please. We are in desperate need for someone who can score! If we just slot an actual striker into that team today we would be winning these games 3 or 4 nil

No good having a striker if you can't get the ball to him

Sooty

14 Jan 2012 17:03:12
terrible performance dont no why people are questioning the formartion that was grand but it seemed as tho jose didnt no that he could bomb forward till the last 15 mins an glen looked lost in the first half couldnt tell wat postion he was suppose to be playing. an between gerrard an adam nt one made any late runs into the box.
skrtle was are best player today hes really came on this season used the ball well an got forward into the postions that glen shouldve been going into instead of cuting inside all the time.
also anyone who thinks we play better football with steve in the middle is deluded we just keep playing the ball to him an expecting him to do it all. he needs to play wide right or off the front man.

belfast red adam

Agree about stevie

14 Jan 2012 16:58:55
I have a feeling that owners will not spend in january as maybe they want to see where liverpool finish at the end of seoson, maybe end of seoson if liverpool are not in chmp lge then maybe they will replace kd,coz if they give him money now he'll blow them like he did in summer with rubbish signings and offcourse carroll,I'm sure anyone who spends their hard earn money wouldn't like to blown away, watch this space if we don't qualify chmp lge KD will go...again I keep on saying negative football just had to stop watching game, adam thinks he's alonso?

14 Jan 2012 16:58:31
No one can defend that toothless display, going with one up front at home is saying "we dont want to get beat". Shocking display, need a severe injextion of new blood. Adam, Kuyt, Downing and even Henderson were not good enough, even Stevie was lacking. What does Carroll have to do to get a full game, he will never get match fitness coming off the bench. Definitely missing Luis, and even more we are missing Lucas.

14 Jan 2012 16:58:26
Hi eds. After watching that shower of s#@t we have got to sign somebody with creative flair! Someone who can sit behind the striker and creat something out of nothing. I hope we do get that coutinho he would be ideal. Pray to the lprd jesus christ himself we get another striker. Absolutely stinking that today n im sure im not the only liverpool fan raging. I know stoke parked the bus but they do it against other teams and get broke down. We need to act in the transfer market asap.

14 Jan 2012 16:58:24
Where was Maxi?!

Awful result again today i know macca has told us about the young lad from inter but personally i feel we need someone who will instantly make a difference

I would like to see next season's manager who is willing to take risks and play attacking football.SERBIAN RED

14 Jan 2012 16:58:12
PATHETIC PERFORMANCE, this had nil all written all over it from the second the team was announced, lack of pace and delivery in our team is frightening more ground lost on the teams above us, Dirk Kuyt and Jamie Carragher are no where near good enough for us, despite being great servants they have no place in that team anymore, but most of all I fell we were let down by our management team, we should have been set out to blitz Stoke from the start yet we hardly had a shot the whole 1st half......not good enough, when you have these days where you out play teams at home and draw it can be accounted to bad luck but it seems like every time we play at home we have 1 of these days its time JH to get the check book out and buy a proven goal scorer and a winger with pace and delivery.

any news eds on that inter signing mentioned by macca. just hopes he knows where the goal is. we were terrible against stoke! {Ed005's Note - Use the search function or scroll down the pages. This has been answered and discussed on several pages.}

Shocking guys
I could see that result from the start
We need some speed and some creativity

Always try to see the best in Kenny and the team but that was dreadful, awful team selection, no chances, starting with Kuyt who hasnt scored all season, WORST performance of the season so far, we desperatly need a striker, whenever we had a chance there was nobody in the box, never mind a draw if we playwell, today we were desperatly BAD

Jim

14 Jan 2012 17:00:08
Guys, we now have Bolton and Wolves away and then we go into a very difficult series of games against Tottenham, Man Utd, Everton and Arsenal.

If we continue to play like this we don't have a prayer of 4th spot and may even be lucky to finish 6th.

This is hard to stomach, especially with Kenny in charge.

FT

14 Jan 2012 17:00:05
and another $h!t game! kenny needs to sign someone that can score some goals cause this is just a joke now.....65% possession and 14 chances and its still 0-0?? great we have signed 100+ million on players that "are gonna be great" we need to get some qulity in the team! cant just keep hoping stevie g will save us again and again.........rant over (till next weeks 0-0)

14 Jan 2012 16:59:38
Just saw the Game and we need, NEED, a forward in my oppinion

14 Jan 2012 16:59:23
Not gd. Don't understand why kenny played with 3 CB and 2 fullbacks BUT I AM NOT GONNA SAY SOMETHING DUMB LIKE KENNY MUST GO.

Spare me the kenny,hate please.

Would u rather go back to mid table with roy?

Criticise the performance or question the tactics, by all means.

But do it without senseless vitriol or logic.

Thank you.:-)

Futile request, I know, but somebody's gotta try right? Haha

Bad result today. I'm not gonna slag off anyone. We did have most of possession and everything, but I really hope this shows Kenny how important a striker/winger is. What would we do if Suarez were injured?

We cannot blame the goalie either for today. I hope that we can do some soul-searching and realize where we are going wrong.

PITSILFC

It is the managers fault he is clueless

Mate, I see your point completely, but to be fair, were not scoring with Suarez in the side at home. big Andy needed to play the full game, he needs game time badly.

Sooty

We need a flair player like silva in the squad. Adam n downing just dont cut it. N a goal poacher too. Sell kuyt.
Indian Buzzer

Why aren't you gonna slag anyone off

Play 5-4-1 at home?
what a stupid tactic!

14 Jan 2012 16:55:17
our defense is good our midfield is good we just have a shocking strike force

kuyt and carroll need to be shifted...
bring in eriksen and podolski
and when suarez returns we'll be bangin them in...

but its getting too frustrating with kuyts poor touch and waiting for carroll to "come good" what if he doesnt?
and we waste all this time and money on his wages in the process... shift him now and be done with it and bring in a decent goalscorer podolski id prefer but sow would also be a good acquisition

mersey red

So what happens when we buy Eriksen and Podolski and they don't bang them in, do we ship them out in the summer. I agree with the gettin rid of Kuyt, but not big Andy. If he were in any other job and was sacked. He would have a great case for unfair dismissal. He never gets a run of games.

Sooty

If we had someone who could put the ball in the net we would be right up the, we have dropped 10 points at home now in matches we have dominated, we need a striker now

Our midfield is awful, we have no wingers and defensive midfielders. how many times was the ball put into a decent area today and no one took a chance? adam, a few hollywood balls...henderson..side passes all day long.zzzzz..Downing..SHOCKING 10th game in a row,,looks like as we normally do we are counting on captain fantastic to do it all cos he is surrounded by average players. he must be used to it after 14 years of it.....

14 Jan 2012 16:54:54
im sorry to say this but if dalglish is happy with this another draw at anfield then long reign dalglish. as a lfc supporter again another draw and no goals scored. get in the market and buy somebody capable of scoring and quickly. we were cr=p no idea going forward whatsoever. why kuyt stayed on the pitch who knows.(maybe dalglish wants him to score his 50th goal before selling him). billy.

SACK HIM NOW

True supporter hey!

Wonder if you'll post on here should we win the league and FA cups?
4ths still there too

14 Jan 2012 16:54:44
starting with 3 centre backs and no striker is begging for a 0-0 - Kenny is picking a team based on the opposition we are Liverpool we should let others worry about us

He is the RUBBISH we need a manager who knows what he is doing

14 Jan 2012 16:54:42
how do u score against 9 defenders...

this is a tuff one, but this screams to me for more creativity and with suarez on the field.. its a bit like pullin teeth..

hmmm ... kutys miss... hmmm

14 Jan 2012 16:54:37
This is just not good enough!! How many draws now at home against lesser teams. I am all for gettign behind Liverpool, but at this rate we are going to fall further behind the likes of spurs and arsenal etc. Other than Bellamy and Gerrard, no of our other players could score even if they were ina brothel!

We need to sign players this month to keep us going and freshen things up, We need a striker like Defo who I think would be perfect and could play with suares once fit. We also need some attacking flair going forward and people who can unlock coaches that seem to get parked in front of goals when they come to anfield.

Oh and why the hell are we playing 5 at the back against stoke at home. Are we trying to win or not?

Red form the Wood

Agree mate, defoe is world class when compared with our strikeforce bar suarez.

Glen Johnson and Enrique played as wing backs. Not exactly 5 defenders at the back, but I quite agree. We should have won.

14 Jan 2012 16:50:21
Let's be honest here, we all knew it would end 0 - 0 as soon as the sheet was named. Kenny will take alot of heat again, but in reality, who out there can score? I don't think it would have mattered if we had started with Carroll and Bellamy.

Well he bought he should take the rap

14 Jan 2012 16:50:07
Is a corner some stupid ritual where our CBs have to waste their energy running up for then a Stoke player heads away a ball

14 Jan 2012 16:48:40
What can you do when stoke have 9 men in defence?!

Create something and take the chances you get

Break them down like every top team in the world does

Wasnt anything to do with stoke defending we were poor today worst game of our season so far yes we had possesion but no incision.

belfast red adam

14 Jan 2012 16:46:36
Really dissapointed with Dalglishes tactics today, at home against Stoke, a must win to push for fourth and yet were not playing an attacking formation, to be honest im livid that hes started with Kuyt up top, hes not been an out and out goal scorer for two years now, should have been Carroll and Bellamy upfront.
Carroll is the only forward we have that would give the stoke back four a run for their money in terms of strength, and Bellamys movement and pace would have had them grasping at thin air. So instead we start with Kuyt a man with less strength than Carrroll and less pace, creativity and goal scoring ability than Bellamy?
I believe in KK but you cannot play defensively against the likes of Stoke at home, its like telling them your happy to accept a draw before they go on the pitch, and im sure the Kop would agree with me in saying that the notion of playing for a draw at home is pathetic at best.

14 Jan 2012 16:46:23
As usual kenny Is getting what he wants
The starting 11 played for a draw and even against a decent stoke team, we should be attacking them and not lying back waiting for them to attack
Carroll has done nothing and Webb has had a shocker
Once again at anfield I'm really disappointed with my team and it hurts
Ith this performance it feels like the dark days are back
Not good enough

14 Jan 2012 16:45:19
What a pathetic formation, tactics n genral play from our manager.
He is a legend but as a manager I don't like his buys, did not like his poor handelling of suarez situation and his approach.I love my LFC but don't like him as manager.

Red indian

Sorry to say this, but part of me agrees with you. Not sure what we're doing wrong, but something just isn't clicking at all. Why oh why do we need five passes before anyone has a test of the keeper - please please please bring in a goalscorer or we can kiss the season goodbye.

Suffolk'n Red

7th home draw of season.champions league my ass.we need creativity and a natural goal scorer now and not the summer.does kuyt make anybody else cringe he simply is not good enough.i dont think he would score if he was playing on his own.redmick

14 Jan 2012 16:40:34
No creativity. Poor! End of!

14 Jan 2012 16:38:36
I actually agree with our tactic in second half: fire a cross into the box and have every player fall to the ground and hope for a penalty. Let's face it, its our only chance of scoring a goal

We would more than likely miss it or hit the bar though

14 Jan 2012 16:38:24
Kuyt needs to go. Money or not. He actually hinders the team opposed to providing any sort of positive contribution.

I realised Johnson and Enrique are wing backs today but they are still ultimately defenders. 5 defenders and Kuyt up front alone at home to Stoke who are playing one up top simply isn't good enough. I love Kenny but they got it wrong today.

14 Jan 2012 16:36:55
Oh come on Kuyt, I couldve buried that header!

14 Jan 2012 16:36:12
Hey lfc fans

For me today is the last straw....the formation and certain peple not playing and players who are the starting line up who should not be there has turned me off lfc for the rest of the season..

I can't take the 1 step forward and 2 step backwards decision making

And the thing that made me laugh...was carollon for dowing on 58mins....where is the logiv??

So I'm just going to see what happens in the summer cos we won't be playing champions league and gerrad getting older. The liverpool brand will diminish cos we r NOT a top team anymore...its a fact

See you later then

x

Have to agree with you.
Gutted about today. Who knows, maybe this will spur the team and transfer activity into action!

PITSILFC

What kind of fan stops supporting a team halfway through a season? Game was pretty bad, few questionable choices by the management team, but we'll move on and try something else.

Come back in August and tell us if you're back to being a fan or not.

Oh, glory hunter. Not suprised.

And suppose you'll go become a cty fan now eh? grow up!

14 Jan 2012 16:35:57
Am i the only one who doesnt enjoy watching us play?

Cannot agree more, long balls, falling over, Carroll quite simply a panic buy, he is not one for the future, we are a laughing stock. We need pace and guile not kuyt, not Carroll, Bellamy should have started wot was kenny's thinking today. Mental!

14 Jan 2012 16:35:38
Stoke are doing to us what we did to Man City in the 2nd half.
Defend deep with the whole team behind the ball and not giving any room.
They are entitled to do it and it's how they play.
We need better movement to break them down.

14 Jan 2012 16:32:14
Andy Carroll cant win a header? Huth is shorter than him! Would rather have seen kuyt off than henderson

Will you fck off having a go at Andy Carroll, your starting to bore the s**t out of me. A team of internationals like Liverpool who can't score against Stoke needs to have a word with themselves, Not good enough. Its the first thing any of you do when were not good enough, Lets blame CARROLL, Grow up.

Sooty

Yeah don't criticise Carroll mate whatever you do! Nothing is ever his fault it's always everybody else didn't you know?

Chris in Tamworth

Carroll was getting fouled every time he tried to win a header. getting wrestled to the floor half the time

Thank you sooty some sense cause he was never gonna have an easy game against some tough defenders specially not when hes being manhandled left right and centre

Back off yeah what did you see Carroll do in this match??
That's right, he does nothing I could do better

Carrolls only been here 12 months and his confidence is shot, the Liverpool pressure is for all to see. The lad is only young and yet some Liverpool fans get on his back rather the support the lad through these dark times.
Remember You'll Never Walk Alone and support the lad. Build up his confidence again.
Shankly would be turning knowing some of his beloved supporters don't actually do the foundations this club prides itself on. That is to support through the good and the bad. This WAS why we was the best supporters ever and the envy for most yet the few are negative against their own :( bad times

14 Jan 2012 16:32:14
Today's game shows we are not creative enough to trouble teams that come to anfield and sit deep. If we don't spend money to solve this we won't be playing champions league next year. Come on Kenny surly u can c this. Kuyt is just not good enough.

Dream on about Champions league mate.

14 Jan 2012 16:08:21
very poor in the final third theres nothing there we need pace and creativity.

14 Jan 2012 16:08:11
Kuyt offers nothing to the team now, i'm afraid.

14 Jan 2012 15:58:10
Poor team selection today maybe. But when you look at the bench we have nobody to bring on anyway. Apart from carol but we all know he is not getting the goals. I really fear that we are becoming a mid table team over the last few seassons.

14 Jan 2012 15:56:38
I think when/if we play Stevie and Adam in the middle we should play a smaller quick player off the striker. Maxi/Bellamy.
I think Henderson has done okay, but he seems to be playing off Kuyt and it's not really working.

The right hand side has been poor. Downing needs to do something, yet to be convinced by him.

Come on lads! We need the 3 points.

D-Day (1892)

14 Jan 2012 15:55:57
I'm hoping Bellers will get a run out sooner or later, we need the pace. We're obviously on top but we're not creating the chances. With Bellamy running beyond the Stoke defence, that's our best bet. Can't see it working today with Carroll due to Stoke's aerial ability.
Dale B

14 Jan 2012 15:55:45
I personal think we should give Eccleston ago in games like this he has pace to burn, Kuyt seems really out of form at the moment.

What an absurd line-up by KK. I wonder where goals are supposed to come from. P.S. What does Carragher do on the pitch?

14 Jan 2012 15:54:21
think we should take a punt on steven fletcher. Didnt rate him at all when people mentioned his name but the guy cant stop scoring and would be relatively cheap. cheaper than soldado and in a similar mold.

john1892

He has had a good half a season and is on a good goal scoring streak. where was he the last few seasons ? remember we spend 35m on carroll after he had a good half a season with newcastle

14 Jan 2012 15:54:11
what a boring game. another match where we have to score against stoke in the second half to win. what on earth is going on as well? kuyt can not score. put bellamy and carroll and take kuyt and carragher off. Another draw or loss at home, what a joke. This team is not improving at all. What is kenny doing with the formation?

I am trying not to be negative but somethings amaze me. We buy players who suit a certain style then play another style, we always changing formation so much so half the players looked lost, team selection baffles, bench use baffles bring Carroll on then take his crossing supply off, ffs we've had no-one in the box all
game!! Do we wanna draw? Play pretty little 1-2's all season but never score goals!

Chuck Norris,

Even if Kenny brings on Bellamy at the end and he scores a winner, this game has been so boring, I will still feel let down

14 Jan 2012 15:46:51
We desperately need speed in our team we must be one of the slowest teams in the prem, this game again today is another example of how we are playing at home this season,I'm sorry but I would play some of the kids with speed,we are 2 or 3 players away from a good side what happend to pass and move and high tempo when playing at home. Cheers pk

Kuyt needs to actually stay up front todayy he needs to realise that. Hope KK brings on carroll.

Formation doesn't seem to be working. Carroll to come on at half time for Kuyt?

14 Jan 2012 15:44:59
Just wanted to mention,if Rafa would have selected this team all over the world people would including majority of lfc fan would have questioned,I'm sure people had problem with rafa rotation?I'm so just surprised because its KD,people think he is right I did post here after city win that we were to defensive like houllier time people think I may have lost the plot, but with this negative thinking I'm sure even if we win today this won't last long and we will be lucky to improve on last year position and all those marquee signing people here want will never come to play in carling cup or europa lge...

The team's playing as a unit now mate. If you have good players and coaches and they unite as a team then success can happen. Just ask united. United havnt gout a world class team, they have 1 or 2 world class players ( so have we ) but they play as a unit and pride. That's the secret of their success and were following suit now.
I think we are better than Arsenal and Chelsea and a top 4 is a possibility.
Even champions win ugly!

Rock solid with lots of possession & pretty passing ... but all in front of Stoke. No threat in the final third out there at all. Really missing Bellamy to run behind and Spearing to set the tempo.

Getting nothing from Downing, little from Henderson but Enrique is an absolute beast. Surely top contender for player of the year?

-Shane.

Cant believe that we are playing with 1 player upfront. Who for most of his time has played as a winger.
I think the team says it all really about the current squad 5 at the back at home, when we are playing stoke.
And people used to say Rafa was to negitive :0

14 Jan 2012 15:47:52
I will never be able to get that 45 minutes back again.

Please give the squad a red bull at half time Kenny.

14 Jan 2012 15:44:44
This is what I fear Kuyt does what he does chasing the ball but when push come to shove there's no one in the box. Which begs the question do we need a defensive midfielder against stoke at home there not that attacking, I would bring off Carra and stick on Carroll and go on an all out attack -McMenemy

Id expect exactly that if its still 0-0 with 20 to go

Oh yeah, you are all so right! This formation is sooo defensive!!
Bunch of clowns, know bugger all

Chris in Tamworth

Yeah ur right Chris- we seem to creating loads a chances- moran!!

I wondered how long it would take before a person piped up! I didn't at any point suggest that we were any good only that the formation that was slated by many for being defensive certainly hasn't been. Or aren't you bright enough to understand that?

Chris in Tamworth

U'll probably not see this but how was it in anyway attacking? 3 centre backs, Johnson n Enrique didn't get into the final 3rd much in the 1st half, 1 up front and gerrard and Adam sitting deep. NO players in the box at all in the first half, granted we got desperate in the second half and changed formation, but when u posted u were wrong. Think cos u regularly post garbage u kno better than any other fan? The rest of us could see from within 10 mins that we were gonna struggle to create chances cos it was too defensive. But ur right...we're the clowns!

3.35pm Paul Merson- quote NO SHOTS ON TARGET by the reds, that makes 81mins WITHOUT A SINGLE EFORT ON GOAL,if you include the 2nd half at city.

4th place looking good,it is a pity agger is not available otherwise he could use him and kelly and bring on Carroll at CH and we could have a formation of 1-7-2-1

Alan50 {Ed001's Note - try watching the game instead of whining because you clearly have no idea what is happening.}

We had 1 shot on target actually :O bet that burst your bubble

The day you start listening to Paul Merson about anything is the day you need help.

always a red

No Ed, were watching. That first half was tripe! Were all over the place, rubbish defensive formation, misplaced passes, no-one in the box etc etc. Kuyt's ball control hit an all time low...

Chuck Norris {Ed001's Note - 65% possession suggests there weren't that many misplaced passes. Hardly defensive formation either. So clearly not watching all that closely are you?}

14 Jan 2012 15:28:25
Someone needs to mutt how a striker plays

Need to go 442 this is poor. we can pass the ball around all day but when we attack one player in the box. going to struggle to score if we stay this way. j.canada

*needs to tell kuyt (predictive text)

14 Jan 2012 15:24:47
Can anyone remember a free kick where Adam actually beat the first man- terrible. And kuyts at it again I see. Scoreless draw all day.

14 Jan 2012 15:21:39
Ed's

Why does Dani Pacheco have no future at LFC?

BillzWheelz {Ed002's Note - It never worked out for him at Liverpool and certainly he has no intention of returning. There were concerns over his attitude to training and it will be best for all to see him move on.}

14 Jan 2012 15:18:35
Lool after that little dribble think we found the next gerrard in coates ...this is a joke if any of you take it seriously. Hopefully Coates builds some confidence and plays like he did last time vs stoke

14 Jan 2012 15:17:16
If hodgson had picked this team and we end up not winning, we would be asking for his head. I hope kk knows what he is doing or the knives will be out, even the board would think poorly of his selection.
Red first & last.

I'm afraid to say I thought this too. So far, it looks like the management team has got this one wrong. Why play an attacking lineup away to man city and play so conservatively at home to stoke? Hopefully the plan becomes more apparent in the second half. Man, it feels bad to post a negative comment on here, if this is some sort of negative-thought zombie apocalypse, and i'm on the turn, sever the head quickly!

Rugby Parker

I very much doubt it - who would you play?

Hi eds just wondering how much longer in the suarez ban? Counting the carling cup and fa cup surely not too long left? {Ed002's Note - He will be available from February 6 (Spurs).}

14 Jan 2012 15:07:41
I'm concerned for todays game. Very defensive line-up at Anfield and no real ST up top. I know we have Kuyt but he does like to drift out wide. Carroll needs game time!

Hans

14 Jan 2012 14:56:30
Why are we playing 5 at the back at home? We should be going for their throats. Bemused by this selection unless it is very flexible in its operation.
Iggypop

14 Jan 2012 14:57:45
Before people start bashing KDs decision to leave carrol on the bench and playing a 5 man defence, remember that Stoke are very dangerous aerially. They can easily cope with Carroll as his only strength is his aerial ability, as his ball control can be shocking. Coates is what? 6 ft 6 inches? He can cope with Stoke's biggest threats. Carragher is put in to organize the defence to cope with set pieces , and Kuyt up front as we have to play the ball on the ground, as that is Stokes weakness as they have a very slow backline. Hoping for a win today. YNWA

14 Jan 2012 14:57:26
Puzzling team selection, I'm sure KK has his reasons but it is almost as baffling as the tactics in the second half against City.

14 Jan 2012 14:56:07
Desperately thin up top and we still put a £35 million striker on the bench. Something tells me even Kenny is starting to lose some faith in Andy. 0-0 written all over it unless Gerrard can turn back the clock. Just cannot see where a goal will come from other than him.

Ash

Still moaning, Ash - you cant stand Carroll so why would you want him on?

Who said I want him on?

Ash

This isn't fantasy league guys let's save the opinions until after the game...Tactical genius or passed it ?? Only time will tell. Come on the reds Gerrard hat trick... Tobiwan

14 Jan 2012 14:48:59
Don't understand the negative comment about the line up. 3 cb to allow the two fastest players in team (enriqe n Johnson) to bomb down the wings and all exePt Adam have pace to do some damage on the counter. We did great with this formation last year when kk came back. I'm expecting goals today come on you reds.

14 jan 2012 14:48:43
todays line up is an indication of what i have been saying all season

too defensive,5 defenders at home to stoke and kuyt i haven't scored a premier league goal this season up front

obviously kenny does not want to finish 4th, i can see a draw at best today

alan50

Your rIght yeah, Kenny obviously doesn't want to finish in the top four, in fact I think he probably is playing to get deliberatly relegated.

Seriously though, do you ever think before you open your mouth?

davethebutcher

Defensive! Hillarious!
We've been the most attacking team in the prem all season.
Unfortunatly with no end product but attack minded is there.
Compare our shots on target ratio compared to that of under Houlier, Benitez and Hodgson.
I'm sure Suerez will get 15/20 goals next season (if he's still here), we just need a strike partner of equal goals quality and a winger who can pitch in.
Top 4 this season is still a possibility and with that confidence and this young team gelling as a team, who knows we're we can become

14 Jan 2012 14:47:16
Not sure why everyone is bitching about playing 3-5-2 (could even be 3-4-3) this is not necessarily defensive in fact it can be very attacking as I think we'll see. Thing that surprises me the most is no Coady on the bench?? I thought he was a definite considering the amount of "experts" on here who "knew" he was going to be included!

14 Jan 2012 14:59:55
A lot of people worried about the line up. Look at this way, the formation at home that we have been using has brought us countless draws. About time for a change. It's a good attacking 3-5-2. We won plenty of games with this formation at the end of last season. Don't worry, we'll win it.

-Shane.

14 Jan 2012 14:22:13
Carroll not starting today seriously makes me believe we are selling him. I would rather have him up front than dirk Kuyt who can do nothing
Kenny does my head in sometimes

I don't understand all the fuss over the youtube videos of emerging prospects...such 'luxuries' were not available decade back but we still got good talented players, didn't we? ........Scouts don't travel to games and burn club's finances ..they are paid for a purpose ..their briefing on a player to manager/ sport director is far more superior than what we see on those fantasy clips of players.......just enjoy those youtube videos ..don't draw conclusions there

14 Jan 2012 14:39:25
edds wat you think of no maxi again surly a good player to pick the locks of stokes defence to games running now not involved is he moving on now and wont be risked incase of injury and edds wats with this team selection were are the goals coming from surely big andy needs a run not stop start like this kuyt up front were not winnig this one hope he proves me wrong but kk setting him self up for a fall here. {Ed002's Note - I have no doubt the fans will again be screaming for Dalglish to go if Liverpool do not win.}

Thats not wat i want edds but the team looks poor today i no bellamy needs a rest but maxi and carrol would make it alot better and kk said he happy with his squad but this team shows we need new players!

K.O.B

Is it 5-3-2 or is it 3-5-2? all depends on your outlook I guess.

Roy Evans used to play 3-5-2 all the time and that was some of the most attacking and exciting football we have played.

We have tried 4-4-2 and 4-3-3 without huge success so why not give it a go?

JRG

14 Jan 2012 14:31:16
Andy Carroll back on the bench where he belongs, what a waste of money, 3 nil win today, Gerrard to get 2 and kuyt

omg we are playing at home and playing 5 at the back

Or 3 at the back

3 at the back with 2 wing backs theres a difference

Hoping to nick a draw?

Playing with wing backs, omg!
WTF Kuyt!?!?!

3 CD's to mark Crouch... Lmao

Chuck Norris

14 Jan 2012 14:28:00
Be interesting to see how we line up. I can understand Coates playing as he was very good against Stoke in the cup but are we playing 3 centre backs with Wing backs or is it 4-4-2 with Carragher playing the DM position?

JRG

I imagine Carra will be dm. I'm annoyed about Carroll and Bellamy being left out. And where's the Dane?

Red Ollie

I'm assuming that Agger is injured as he is not even on the bench.

Bellamy cannot play two successive games as he has chronic knee problems.

I agree about Carroll - he is a big lad and needs to play regularly to keep his fitness and regain form. Big lads like him are not suited to rotation. Sol Campbell and Drogba are similar.

JRG

Quite simply no he doesn't

Chris in Tamworth

14 Jan 2012 14:25:47
Why is Carroll not scoring?? Because he doesn't get two games in a row thats why!!

Kuyt is not a lone striker, he's a poacher he taps them in, just look a his hat trick against United that what he does I don't see him win ariel challenges, skipping through defenders or chasing down defenders like he used to do.

I hope he grabs a goal he needs that courage but surely Carroll must be not know if he's coming or going -McMenemy

Going i hope

What's the issue with Agger? Has he been dropped or is he injured?

I assume it is a back 5 today with Carra, Coates and Skyrtl playing?

Thoughts anyone?

Kenny probably givin everyone a run of games, maybe restin a few, it is a strange selection but Kenny knows better than us, maybe its jus the people in the team deserve a place for trainin so hard, we dont see what goes on behind the scenes

14 Jan 2012 14:23:15
Just looked at the team news and coates, carragher and kuyt start. why?. kuyt is not going to score and bellamy, carroll and maxi not playing. How are we going to win today if we put the fringe players out. we need to go out there and win, not lose or draw. Im not here to say negative stuff but the Liverpool team for this match does not look threatening. But who knows what will happen lol. what do u guys think. Thanks and YNWA

I think we're defending against the Delap - Crouch combination. Agger has had a lot of games and might need a rest. Disappointed that Carroll isn't getting a start, but he and Bellers could be the impact players for later in the game. Great to see Carra and Coates getting some game time.

ed, will Sterling or Coady be on the bench today? if not, when do you expect them to be on the bench? will they be there this year you think? {Ed002's Note - Coady may well be on the bench at some point. Sterling has just turned 17 and is not yet ready - perhaps a cameo at some point.}

Sorry ed but if downing is ready, henderson is ready, kuyt is ready, sterling is definately ready to outshine all these players. Kenny atleast give him 10-15mins each game, aswell as suso and silva, these players are class.RedTurk {Ed002's Note - You mean put the little kid on today and watch Robert Huth kick him in to the stands? Great plan.}

Hmm sorry but there are quite a few little players in the world ed, and 10 minutes at the end of a game wont hurt. most fans are getting fed up of the summer buys underperforming and fans like me who watch the reserves play, can see we got better players there, atleast give silva a chance dont we need a right winger?RedTurk {Ed002's Note - You need to feally get the Kenny Out campaign goining in full swing - the Facebook page, the Twitter messages, the flags at the games. Eventually you can force him out and then push for a manager who will get rid of all his summer signings and give the youth a chance. Or perhaps Dalglish also thinks he is not ready yet?}

I see Wayne Rooney has burnt his bridges with Everton.

Despite kissing the Everton badge when he scored a goal, and getting a tatoo that claimed 'once a blue, always a blue' he angered the Everton fans by refusing to sign a new contract and forcing through a move to United.

Now 8 years later he has put the final nail in the coffin of any hopes of the Everton fans forgiving him by convincing ex United team mate Darron Gibson to sign for them.

Oh what have you done Wayne.

Oh I don't know JRG.
I think he's waiting for the day the Arabs takeover at Everton. Then he'll be back like a shot.

I see Estaban Granero is likely to leave Real Madrid and his agent says LFC are a possibility. One story says the club,RM, would prefer a loan deal but his agent suggests he wants away.I do not know what sort of money he would be but he certainly looks a talented player who is prepared to compete for the ball and is a good crosser who also gets a fair share of goals. Just what we need if the price is right.

Not so much a rumour, but what's everyone's opinion on Sebb Larsson? 2 or 3 seasons back, he impressed me and I thought he'd be at a title challenging side before long. Since then I don't think he has donetsk good up until this season, looking good again! I'm not so sure but he could be a decent squad player for the reds, I wouldn't want us to spend money on a squad player though, as opposed to someone who would instantly make the starting 11 better.

Today's team...

Reina, Johnson, Agger, Skrtel, Enrique, Henderson, Gerrard, Adam, Downing, Bellamy, Carroll.

Big news on the bench...
Doni, Carragher, Kelly, Shelvey, Coady, Sterling, Kuyt

Lucas and Spearing out, hence Coady's involvement. Maxi is searching for a new club so he won't be risked.

Liverpool will open negotiations with Tottenham in regards to Jermain Defoe on Monday. Comolli is a big admirer and he is quick and a clinical finisher on his day. He's recently switched agents to Struan Marshall who represents Gerrard, Downing and Henderson so has string links to the club. Redknapp will refuse to sell him so Defoe may have to force through a move himself. Defoe wants more regular 1st team action to try and secure a place in the England Euro 2012 squad.

Hey eds, great site, was just wondering if any1 had any links to watch the stoke game? Since it's not be shown on tv! Also would you say it's right to think that our number 1 target to strengthen the squad is a striker, or a winger? {Ed002's Note - If you have Google Chrome, you can download an app for it called Live Football. When installed you have a little football icon next to the address bar, click on that and choose live stream or myp2p.pe may work.}

I use a site called tvdez.com, its foreign but simple to understand and you can get the commentary in english. Google tvdez.com and it should be the top one 'Sic noitcas em directo no tvdez' Then go right to the bottom of the page and you'll see a box and all the sports are at the top, click what sport u want and it will show u all events happenin on the day, and then when u find the game u want, click it and it will give you 5 different links, usually the first link is the english commentary

Hey there fellow reds. I would just like to know, who would u rather have... Stewart downing or Albert Riera

Albert Downing all day for me.

DaveyBootle

Ahoy - Downing obviously - Reira is nearly 40

BOILED ONIONS

Riera any day of the week

Have to say Albert Riera.. At least he showed some bottle and try to past defenders. Downing just runs then stops and lays it off. Enrique seems like the winger downing should have been. If downing just went for it a bit more i am sure he would grow in confidence and also needs to shoot more as he has a sweet left foot.

Neither

Downing

Riera was technically a very gifted player, while downing is a headless chicken. Riera all day long.
Indian Buzzer

Riera would never have been any better than he was. A lot of Downing's work is to no end result. His problem is he doesn't hurt the opposition. RED LENIN

From what Downing has done so far, I must say Riera was ver better than him. Hope, Downing gets the things right, soon. YNWA

Albert reira never had the pace Downing has but he had more technical ability. He was very effective. Downing is suffering at the minute, but I think we need to look at the left side of the team ( Downing & Enrique) together. They work well together, but maybe because Enrique is bombing on it looks like Downing is having to sit more than he wants. A couple of goals in 2 matches & you might see a different player.

The Irish Rover

It's not downing fault our strikers are not converting his crosses, if few goals was scored what chancs he has created so far everyone would of said what a great signing.

Riera all day.

Ash

To compare the two shows how far we've come since Barnes and Mcmanaman lol.

Just think we paid 18m for this guy and he so far has providing very few assists and no premier league goals...we seem to have a thing for massivley overspending on average British players so far. Lets please not make the same mistakes in this or coming windows, WE NEED TO MOVE ABROAD where the players are worth their price tags!

Just my thought on things. Liverpool are ultimately looking long term, but need to get in to the CL asap. I believe that we could easily achieve that this season, whether we sign anybody or not (obviously Id love us to sign a player who would make an immediate impact), but we have got a good squad who can beat any team in the premier league. I, personally, do not mind if we do not get CL qualification this season because I see our future is bright, and within 3-5 years LFC will be winning trophies every year. If we do sign a player from Inter(LAZIO?), my wish would be Zarate, most chance of an immediate impact IMO. Be patient fellow Reds, we are on the verge of something big. The Robster.

If you think that liverpool have average players then go and support an average team then. sick of the same old abuse of certain players at our club. when liverpool were a great team they still had some average players that gave 100 percent. so you dont need a team of superstars to win anythink, just look at the worldcup winning team of 66, who left some amazing players on the side lines. keep the faith rome wasn't built in a day

When Liverpool were a great team they had one or two stars and the rest of the team worked it's socks off.

Times have changed, you need more than one or two good quality players in your team now-a-days...

Hi guys, a bit of news:

Blackburn's asking price for Hoilett is 8m, and we're very interested in him. Commoli, however, does not want to pay the 8m as Hoilett's contract is almost up. LFC will therefore pursue Hoilett in the summer IF BB don't reduce their asking price.

My opinion on all this? Commoli is annoying because 8m for a player of Hoilett's potential is an EXTREMELY good price, so I don't get why we're messing about trying to lower a fee that's already so low. Plus, the longer this goes on the greater the chances of other clubs (like Spurs) bidding for him.

I guess this is just Commoli's way of trying to make up for grossly over-spending on Carroll, Downing etc. But to be honest, nobody's going to criticise Comolli if we pay 8m for Hoilett because EVERYONE can see that he's a player of very good potential.

Don't know what Commoli's doing to be honest. He appears to be over-paying for the average ones (you all know who they are) and underpaying for the good ones (Enrique and Suarez).

There are obviously good reasons why Mr. Comolli has the job and not you.

Jesus, no wonder you didn't sign your post as it was one of the dumbest posts i have ever read.

Red7.

That was not a dumb post at all so don't criticise other lfc fans

The reason he is not willing to pay 8 mill is because his contract is expiring in the summer. Why pay 8 mill when we can snap him up for free in six months?

Also, it's early on in the transfer window - a lot happens towards the end!

Got to agree with the reply's to this post! Your criticising a man for saving £8m for the sake of 6 months... What planet do you live on? It's not like Hoilett would be the answer to all our problems.

Eds you said we haven't got the funds in this window but if tevez moves to ac than pato will want to leave. Can't we loan him till the summer with an option to buy. And maybe throw in aquaman in the deal. Any chance? {Ed016's Note - Pato's pay would be excessive. The rule at Liverpool has been for a while no one makes more than Stevie G. He just signed a new contract probably with higher pay. which does make me think we will be getting a slightly well known player this month but this is just me and my conspiracy brain}

I thought it was only a contract extension ed?

Kaizer {Ed005's Note - More than a contract extension - unless he had an ambassador role after playing in his old contract?}

kd im so sorry you had to hear what ppl were saying on the liverpool main website on transfer activities, we have got some impatiant fans who dont understand the january transfer window, and what seems to be football aswell!
i beleive you know what your doing and, and i have complete faith, if everyone was behind us, we would deffinately be making a challenge for the title in the next two seasons!
that is very reasonable and realistic, we need to make a decent spine of our team and with everyone new here that aint gonna take half a season, i can promise you that!
edds goos job as allways

Hi guys

Just wanted to share some knowledge and ask for eds/maccas updates?

Luc Caistagnos - Negotiations still ongoing, wages and buy option sticking points

David Junior Hoilett - Interest in this player, however Spurs are also very interested. Negotiations have happened, however Blackburn selling price is quite high for a player out of contract in the summer at about 8m and we are only prepared to pay 5 or wait until summer

Also Kenny apparently sighted at NUFC training ground, not a truly reliable source but just wondering if you'd heard this eds and your thoughts on Luc and David?

Thanks

Mac
