I've been amongst the negative posters in recent weeks but I can't wait for tomorrow. This is the kind of game Klopp's shines in, we're the underdog going against the establishment, expectations are lotws but Klopp's going to pull it out of the bag. Bring on 1230.

Believable6 Unbelievable1

13 Oct 2017 23:12:56
It can't come quick enough mate, I'm bored of waiting now. I just want the game to be here and done with, I would absolutely love it if we won. I do hope Klopp has something up his sleeve mate.

13 Oct 2017 23:27:31
Careful what you wish for. We can’t defend, we’re weak in midfield and Mane is out long term. United are flying and easily capable of doing to us what City did. I’m struggling to see where the goals will come from but can see where the goals will be conceded.

13 Oct 2017 23:52:26
We’ve got goals all over this team Dennis. I agree with you defensively but to say you can’t see where goals will come from is ludicrous. I really fancy us to come out of the traps hard and be 2-0 up by half time. Jose will slow everything down for the first 20 minutes but I think we’ll have too much for them. On the flip side if we don’t get a goal then the longer it goes the more chance we will lose 1-0. We can’t let them score first that would be a disaster. I really do think it will be one of those Anfield days where we come out so fast we smash them in the first half an hour. Whatever happens I can’t wait for the game to start!

14 Oct 2017 08:05:25
Dennis, if that is the mindset every manager and player or fan has, why bother even showing up to play and why should the fans even watch? Might as well give up, crawl into a corner and cry till the end of the season and pack it in. You say you can't see where the goals will come from. We have scored near 25 goals in all comps. this season and could have been way more had we taken our chances so your negativity is clouding reality. Get behind the team and cheer them till you can't cheer them anymore for 90 mins. The only thing to fear is fear itself.

13 Oct 2017 23:11:10

N all my years of watching liverpool, there has not been one time where I didn't think we could/ should beat them. They are overrated, play negative tactics and long balls. That is till now. With our defense, sputtering attack and their form. I fear it will be 6-2 tomorrow. Not a good feeling.

Fear's what ends up killing you my friend. It's better to be living in fantasy dreamworld like me with fairies, friendly goblins and woodland critters running around if you ask me (which I'm sure you didn't, in fact, having re-read your post, you certainly didn't but I'll have my say you mark my words) . I want to talk to you all about hope today. Hope is a wonderous thing, got me through my darker times it did (oh by Jove it did, if it weren't for that little bit of hope I could be hanging from a ceiling around about now) so I'll fight for the little guy (hope) in this battle of fear vs hope and stick my neck on the line (figuratively not literally I'm not a fool after all) and say a 3-1 win for the Redmen (Liverpool, not Mancs)

13 Oct 2017 22:34:49
Believe! We ain't that bad and they ain't that good.
Just as long as the officials do their job, I think we may shade it 2-1. I always feel there may be a pivotal ref decision in these big games. At the end of the day it's only 3 pts.

13 Oct 2017 22:49:02
lfcohio - 6-2? you are joking right? We're not that bad mate my god.

Zoom, your hilarious mate.

13 Oct 2017 23:34:17
Bean counter it’s not just 3 points. It’s that mob down the road, and we’re simply not good enough.

13 Oct 2017 23:42:48
My god mr dennis give it a rest mate, the game hasn't even started yet and your already writing us off.

13 Oct 2017 23:58:29
Neither are they Dennis. They haven’t played anyone anywhere near our quality yet and our form isn’t as bad as the results suggest. We’ve had a spell where everything that can go wrong has gone wrong but let’s not forget we’ve only lost 1 game in that time when we were down to 10 men against the title favourites. We are creating bags of chances but just not finishing them off. That will come, hopefully tomorrow. I think we will surprise them, the difference between the sides isn’t as much as is being made out. Let’s hope they underestimate us.

14 Oct 2017 00:44:35
The irony that the OP has predicted that we will get beaten 6-2 at Anfield and his up/ down votes currently stand at 2-6.

Long may it continue. I predict 3-1 to us.

14 Oct 2017 08:11:58
Dennis, if you are so negative then please, don't watch. You are aware that LFC won the CL in 2005 with arguably the worst squad in the past 20 years, right? If everyone and the fans then were as negative and fearful as you, you think we would have even gotten out of the group? If you allow fear to kill you then that is your problem but pleas, stop spreading that around as it is not helpful.

"We're not good enough". Say who? You? Utd? The biased media? Had we taken our chances in earlier games, would you bee saying that? NO! You do know that Klopp has the best record vs top 6 teams and has the best record vs Mou in head to head right? Again, if you are scared then pls, don't watch the game and bring in your negativity. The rest of us will watch in hope that we will win.

13 Oct 2017 20:35:12
Lads I just came over to wish you luck tomorrow.
Although you might not need it as you seem to raise your game when you play a big team.

13 Oct 2017 23:59:29
I think you’ve got the wrong week mate, we’ve got United tomorrow ;-)

14 Oct 2017 00:45:33
Thanks for the words Leahy, but which big team are you talking about?

I thought it was only your mob coming to visit 😜.

13 Oct 2017 20:04:39
Massive game tomorrow my fellow REDS.

What I want to see is total football. Not giving UTD any chance to breathe.

If we get one goal and win it we will hear Mourinho murmuring something to the effect that they were unlucky.

Rise to the occasion everyone. This is Anfield, not the theater of dreams.

Believable8 Unbelievable0

13 Oct 2017 21:06:03
Total football? We are quite far from that these days.

13 Oct 2017 22:30:57
The way we’ve been playing it’s going to be a massacre. I might stay at home and do the DIY the wife has been asking me to do as I don’t think I can put myself through seeing that smug git Mourinho managing a united team that batter is the way City did.

13 Oct 2017 23:13:53
Ah Mr Dennis, always a ray of sunshine.

13 Oct 2017 23:28:51
Andy can you see us getting a result with our problems against a team that are flying? Be realistic.

13 Oct 2017 23:45:54
Can't say I'm overly confident but your pessimism defies belief! Have u actually watched our games?!

14 Oct 2017 00:02:18
Dennis they are not flying at all. Swansea were better than them for large parts, as where Everton and Southampton. I really do think your ingrained negativity towards Liverpool is causing you to overestimate United. We will do them tomorrow just watch.

14 Oct 2017 00:16:40
I am certainly not overly confident right now Mr Dennie but i also won't write us off before a whistle is blown. Mane is a big loss, without question, but we are capable of excellence, so let's see how we go and the reflect on the game.

14 Oct 2017 00:33:33
Mr Dennis. That was a typo.

14 Oct 2017 00:46:38
Ron, I have to disagree on the total football bit.

I honestly can't remember the last time we started playing cricket or rugby during a match, at least not since Skrtel left.

14 Oct 2017 06:56:59
Zed our keepers play volleyball and our defenders play hide and seek or kabaddi.

14 Oct 2017 09:11:18
It’s a sad day when even Ron is being negative 😞.

13 Oct 2017 18:56:59
Tension is almost too much now. I can't remember a utd game that was so important for us to win for ages. A draw, however, wouldn't be too bad I guess.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

13 Oct 2017 19:50:48
Relax and believe. We'll win.

{Ed025's Note - i think so too aoe..

13 Oct 2017 23:35:42
They’ll batter us. We don’t have the ability to control the game in midfield and our defenders are a joke.

14 Oct 2017 00:43:48
Dennis do you need a hug? You are the biggest miserable sod I have ever seen.

14 Oct 2017 08:13:58
Dennis, do you need an intervention cos you are starting to worry me with your perennial negativity.

13 Oct 2017 16:23:36
Watching the king kenny stand unveiling YNWA played on bagpipes was fantastic goosebumps! Nice to see fergie and sir bobby there too rivalry on the pitch but respect off it.

13 Oct 2017 16:25:57
Yes I thought that as well mate, respect for them for going and showing respect to him.

13 Oct 2017 17:41:54
Congratulations to Kenny, a nice honour for one of your legends. Respect transcends football.

13 Oct 2017 18:14:21
Did owners turn up?

13 Oct 2017 18:52:44
Didnt notice mate. Footage was filmed on a phone and on facebook. Saw stevie carra and roy evans fergie sir bobby and his wife.

13 Oct 2017 19:27:51
Congratulations to Kenny, humble, genuine, integrity and great servant to LFC on and off the pitch. So glad people like him get honoured while alive, I think he made a joke about that. Seemed nicely done by club. No owners but it's Kenny's day, they probably didn't want ownership questions distracting from Event.

13 Oct 2017 21:51:55
Jayden23, No Henry, Werner and Gordian had a prior engagement.

14 Oct 2017 00:39:37
Jayden, when you eat an ice cream, do you focus on the negative sides of sugar and fat or can you enjoy the sweet and creamy experience? Both are true but you can just enjoy the experience.

14 Oct 2017 09:13:48
Surely Fergie Just turned up for the free booze and vol au vents?

13 Oct 2017 16:08:05
Just a little update regarding my extra ticket for tomorrow's match if you can comment on this then we can wrk something out. Unfortunately you will be sitting next to me and I'm sure people can appreciate I don't want to put personal mobile number on here and things so will ask one of the eds to pass on my details if anyone interested.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - sitting next to you? Ah that just killed off the interest stone dead then! ;-)

13 Oct 2017 16:21:24
Haha, yeah must explain the distinct lack of interest. I've been visiting this site for years and think it far better to give a proper red a ticket rather than selling on to highest bidder. I've been had like that many of times in the past and jus think makes more sense. I've got to get some one asap tho as I'm going to change the name through the club for the ticket aswel so they don't think I'm jus selling on to highest bidder.

{Ed001's Note - I would have thought you would have people queueing round the block for a ticket to see us against Man Utd!}

13 Oct 2017 16:35:19
Most of my friends are blues my lad (who usually goes with me is up in Newcastle to see family) the other person who I would go with my brother is out for his daughter's b-day. As I said I've seen people selling em on fb for over £100 a ticket and I'm not willing to do that unfortunately would rather give it to someone who wants to get to a game but due to prices or near impossible to get a tickets then they get to go.

{Ed001's Note - someone has just asked so there you go.}

13 Oct 2017 16:36:36
I will have it if still available mate.

13 Oct 2017 16:58:13
I will send my details in a bit or if you can send me yours I can get I touch when I'm in. I've got a family friend askin aswel so let you know asap. Are you from lpool area and know area btw?

13 Oct 2017 17:03:42
No worries mate. I am from Liverpool, just let me know👍.

13 Oct 2017 17:05:21
No worries mate. I am from Liverpool. Just send me your contact details if ticket is available.

13 Oct 2017 19:52:05

13 Oct 2017 12:58:36
Hi Ed001 - can you enlighten me with your views as to why King Kenny is not Sir Kenny. For the life of me I can't believe he never received a Knighthood for his sporting and post Hillsborough contributions? Thanks.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - I have no idea. He certainly deserves it as much as most.}

13 Oct 2017 15:08:33
He will get one when he stops dying his hair! No madness, he deserves it. Maybe he wouldn't accept it? A lot of Scots dont.

13 Oct 2017 18:14:14
Why would he want one?

13 Oct 2017 21:35:17
He is already a king, can’t get much better than that.

{Ed025's Note - pity you all forced him to abdicate then really..

13 Oct 2017 11:39:23
Hi All, I am taking my nephew to the Spurs game. His first trip to wembley. Any of you guys know where the away fans will go for a pint before the game?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - "There are a number of pubs near Wembley, though we are yet to see which of them become the traditional ‘away pub’ during the forthcoming season. Please note, however, that some bars require club colours to be covered and some do not allow children." http://www.awaygames.co.uk/away-day-guides/tottenham-hotspur-away/#1467742940380-6d587291-9217

13 Oct 2017 12:18:38
I live near wembley - and i suggest going to 'the Torch' that's usually where the england fans go for a pint. No idea if Spurs have made it their own pub though.

13 Oct 2017 11:21:05
What time will the players be arriving at anfield on the coach and will it be busy with people singing n chanting them in as I went to see the coach arrive against Villarreal and it was something else would it be like that tomorrow cheers? YNWA!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

13 Oct 2017 16:24:33
Any1 know the time they arrive would be much appreciated thanks?

13 Oct 2017 09:55:35
Not sure if the the eds would allow this but I'll post anyways. Me and my lad are regular goers to lfc home games and he has gone to Newcastle to visit family so isn't around this weekend so have a extra ticket in the 'local sale' in the new main stand if interested I can provide eds with my details and go from there.

13 Oct 2017 09:32:38
Hi Eds. question for Ed001 if you have the time mate.

i would love to get your opinion on King Kenny's second stint as manager of the club. IMO he should have never been sacked and should have been able to stay in the position for as long as he liked. if anyone should be unsackable its him.

im not sure if its a subject that you want to get into. i rememver eveeryone wearing the suarez T-Shirts, how did that impact his position? i understand it shouldn't have happended but he remained in charge for the remainder of the season, why did the owners feel it necessary to sack him?

im so happy the club are honouring Kenny tomorrow, not that i imagine he enjoys all the attention on himself! he deserves all the club can give him. personally i was gutted when he got sacked, we won our last trophy under him, despite having to work alongside Damien Comoli! we not have had the highest league finish but didn't we hit the post 145678 times that year. i really hope the lads get the result for him tomorrow! plus the site is a lot rosier ofter a good result so would helop with your sanity.

aprreciate the time and effort put in by the eds. loving the articles by the way.

Believable7 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - they sacked him for his backing of Suarez, so it had a major negative impact. They felt it necessary because backing the player had been felt to have a major negative effect on the way the club was seen around the globe. To be fair, they were right. Dalglish did make a mistake with that one, but the club as a whole should not have let him make that mistake. What happened to the Chief Exec etc at that time? They should have been the ones making the call.

I fully agree that Dalglish should be unsackable, or at least as close to unsackable as it gets. If he had led us to relegation, I could still not have brought myself to call for him to go. He is one man that deserves the support of every fan over anyone else.}

13 Oct 2017 09:55:59
I have not much more to add because you fellas have covered it.

The only thing what gets me is, I know he stood by Suarez too much, which was indeed a huge mistake, having said that, how the hell can you sack a man like Dalglish it just makes no sense to me. I have no idea what goes on behind closed doors at the club but I don't know it just baffles me it really does, I just think there could've been a way around it.

When he got called into Klopps office to have a conference with JH, he said he thought he was getting the sack again but it was all about this stand lol I admire the man he's a true gent, fantastic ex player, a great man and more, he deserves this attention.

I wonder if the owners regret sacking him, I'd like to know that. But anyway, now he has his name on the stand so I'm delighted for him, nobody is more deserving of it.

{Ed001's Note - I am sure they must do.}

13 Oct 2017 10:30:55
IMO, I would have liked it if KK was sacked due to poor results cos at least, that is a professional decision based on on-pitch issues BUT since it was due to the Suarez thing, then it was just unfortunate. Someone should have been there to stop him from supporting Suarez to the hilt but sadly, that did not happen.

Now having said that, these off-field errors should never taint the man, his love for LFC, his love for people in general and of course, his achievements as a player and manager. Not in the least bit. A true legend and gentleman and even a greater man. The fact that he was there to present Suarez the Golden Boot after all that Suarez put him through, is a testament to his wonderful heart and his ability to forgive Suarez for his mistakes.

Hopefully, our boys can reward him with a win tmrw cos the naming of the new stand in his name will guarantee a huge beast to the fans and players to do well.

13 Oct 2017 10:52:53
Thanks for the response ed. Kenny made a mistake and should not have said anything publically about the suarez situation, however surely when this happended the club, should have give a breifing or advised all figures in the public eye on how to manage the media regarding such a sensitive subject. despite the mistake Kennt made, i would argue that the club let him down not the other way around.

no one could doubt he has went into it with the best intentions. because that is all he has had since he came to the club.

it amazes me that some fans would still have suarez back. the man is one of, if not the best player i have seen in a reds shirt (im in my 20's) but the way he behaved at the club was shocking. and IMO hegot snacky during the internationals to force a move away from the club. absolute snake.

{Ed001's Note - you are spot on. He defo did it to get away as legal action had not worked. Little snake.}

13 Oct 2017 12:11:41
I don't want Suarez back. His ship has sailed (with all the baggage that went with it) and it should remain that way.

13 Oct 2017 13:00:07
Luckily he will never be back, I'm of the same opinion, he was fantastic as a player but I'd never want somebody like him in our shirt ever again.

13 Oct 2017 16:06:21
He'll snap again at some point for Barca. It's just in him.

{Ed025's Note - great talent...but as nutty as a squirrels fart..

13 Oct 2017 18:56:29
KK was made a bit of a scapegoat then really if they were so appalled at Suarez's actions why didn't they also sell him at the first opportunity . some will say we had a great season and Suarez was amazing but we still won f all.

13 Oct 2017 20:38:18
Kenny Dalglish should never have been sacked. Our last manager to win a trophy. Case closed.

13 Oct 2017 08:32:45
What's everyone's thoughts on DS he been fit for while had some game time but doesn't look any where near the player he was.
Surly it's time to move him on and give someone else a chance or a new player in.
Good to have around the place but on lots of money.

Believable7 Unbelievable0

13 Oct 2017 08:40:05
I think he needs more games before we judge him further, now he's fit. My head is telling me he's coming to the end at Liverpool, my heart is telling me he will get back to how he was, but how long do we wait? I want him to keep with us of course but I think if nothing improves it'd be best for the club and for his career if he moved on.

13 Oct 2017 09:00:37
Every player needs games to get the sharpness back, he gets 10-15 mins here and there and a rare start, then gets the brunt of the abuse for not being better, I also don't think the system we play suits him, or his game, but instead of changing or tweaking to suit him klopp continues with his 1 trick pony tactics that most teams have sussed by now,

13 Oct 2017 11:05:09
I don't mind and agree with the fact he needs games to get fit etc. Sturridge is very talented no question. But he is at times very lacklustre, and even in warm ups before game he looks like he's going at 60% and at times carries that on to the park. I as a fan of Sturridge would just like to see him do the hard work and ugly side of the game and stop getting bullied and going to ground so easily like Newcastle goal he takes a bad touch and then is just so easily pushed off it when still had body between ball and defender then we were wide open to the counter attack (not all his fault I may add) Hope we can be more clinical tomorrow and stop this media frenzy on sky with Utd!

13 Oct 2017 12:43:56
The guy is clinical and still has his fancy foot work but he just doesn’t seem to have that yard of pace that made him lethal in his hey day and he looks just too static for me. As much as a love the guy I’d like to see Solanke given starts against the so-called weaker sides where his physical presence in the box could make the difference, then Firmino against the top sides and Sturridge as impact sub.

13 Oct 2017 14:40:54
Not a bad shout, SG. Solanke came on vs Newcastle and did more in 16 mins than Studge did in 70 mins. Go figure.

13 Oct 2017 16:09:50
I think he's good enough to adapt his game. If he's lost his pace, he should work on his runs. He'll always be a great finisher. He only needs a few games to get that part of his game sharp again.

{Ed025's Note - its hard to control the ball when it gets stuck under your zimmer frame aoe....ditch him asap for me mate..

13 Oct 2017 16:57:12
He works that Zimmer frame real well in fairness. I'm not convinced he'll ever be as prolific as before but it wouldn't surprise me if he had a run of games and started scoring. I just think a great player like that has it in him to adapt. Not to mention how much solanke could learn from him.

13 Oct 2017 08:08:07
Ed, any chance of adding one of my favourite players of all time to your ever growing list - Paolo Maldini?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - defo mate, I can't believe I hadn't put him in the list already now you have mentioned him! Also your namesake and Franco Baresi I have added while I thought of them.}

13 Oct 2017 08:32:24
Brilliant choice. I know it's a sin but I forgot the fella existed for a while.

13 Oct 2017 08:41:43
What's the chances of a piece on Paul Konchesky?

{Ed001's Note - he is not yet retired, so it would have to be a player profile mate. Sorry to disappoint you.}

Would love to see your views on the '05 UCL winning squad ED001, pretty please?

Doesn't have to be ginormous obviously, but would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - have added that to my to do list mate.}

What, Konchesky Is still playing? I thought he'd retired on his few months worth of Liverpool wages? Struth!

Another one I thought of Ed001 mate, Roberto Baggio, I'm not sure if he's been recommended yet.

{Ed001's Note - I can't believe I never had him on the list already! One of the most fascinating characters in football.}

He was just unreal wasn't he mate. I look forward to that one as I do the many others, he had quiet a career. Cheers mate.

{Ed001's Note - his off field life is pretty interesting too.}

hi ed, what about Andrea Pirlo? i have never understood why he is so admired, when to me he is one of the most frustrating footballers i have ever watched! not sure if he still playing in the states, but with the amount of requests you are getting by the time you get round to it he his kids will be retired.

{Ed001's Note - I will add him to the lost when I get back. Have to admit I am not a fan of his at all.}

Cheers Ed.

You'll have a whole encyclopedia after all these requests!

{Ed001's Note - maybe I should turn it into a book then.}

Maybe an article on Italian football would cover most of those Ed001, could include some of the great players they have had and the differences in style compared to other leagues. I remember as a young kid it was the top league to play in and how it has fallen from that position. Just a thought/ suggestion.

{Ed001's Note - good idea mate.}

Now that would be something special if you did a book Ed001.

{Ed001's Note - special isn't the word most people would use!}

Socrates on the list?

Van Basten is one of my all time favourites despite his shortened career.

{Ed025's Note - great player andy..
