Fantastic. at least we are not bored like other teams playing for nothing!

Game on!

Believable4 Unbelievable1

14 May 2017 00:37:58
I'd rather be in the champions league and bored.

14 May 2017 05:02:38
If we don't finish top4, all our quality players will leave and we will have nothing to play for anyways. So you will not only be bored but the club will have nothing left to play for. Two birds killed with one stone.

{Ed001's Note - nonsense. Simply not true.}

14 May 2017 09:29:41
"If we don't finish top4, all our quality players will leave"

Good riddance. IF that were true (it isn't) then they're obviously not good enough anyway.

13 May 2017 20:47:43
Hoping for a confident performance as well as a good result tomorrow. If it does go down to the last game, then having a blinder will put a bit of a Spring in our step for last game.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i think any win with even a scrappy own goal would suffice at this time MCM..

13 May 2017 21:36:36
Totally agree Ed25.

13 May 2017 21:57:17
We're shabite and have been since January.

West Ham love games like this.

Roy Keane was right saying that we're pathetic by celebrating a top four finish.

We have too many tarts in the team whondont like a fight.

A pathetic club at the moment we are.

13 May 2017 22:02:55
I'd take just 3 points too, but with our last game being at home where we can tend to get the "Jitters", it would be a comfort to have an upbeat victory behind us for confidence as opposed to another nervy and scruffy performance .

13 May 2017 22:48:39
Well we have been awful pretty much since the turn of the year and Keane maybe has a small point about celebrating a top 4 spot but we have to start somewhere. We certainly are not going to go from 8th to winning the League. We need a foothold in the top 4 Davey to atrract better players. Players who want to play in the CL. So i won't go overboard with top 4 but it is certainly an improvement on last year and that is all i could have expected this year. Anyway, who listens to Roy Keane? Have you seen the state of that knob with that beard? He's a prat, always was and always will be.

13 May 2017 23:36:24
Crikey DaveyB! Henderson is not a tart. and that's it I guess! Lol. Milner is proper.

I think you're a bit harsh but we do lack the Gerrard, Souness, McMahon, Carra, types in the team for sure.

14 May 2017 00:35:03
Let's beat the hammers tomorrow. As long as we do our bit other results don't mean anything.

14 May 2017 07:24:46
Wonder will ex united players be so quick to condemn when man u haven't seen a title in years or regular CL football,

14 May 2017 12:02:53
Hmmm so davey your opinion is influenced by a man who clearly has no liking for our club. Considering this is the second time in about 7 years we may qualify for the champs league i sure as hell will celebrate. Celebrate being able to watch us playing elite teams at the top table again. Celebrate european nights on the kop, celebrate the challenge of knocking out fancied teams while playing cintilating football.

13 May 2017 19:42:47
Never seen or heard of Luan before he cropped up on here. After todays stories I thought I'd hit the old compilation videos! Wow. He must be the only player ever to look bad on a highlight reel! Anybody seen him play and care to ease my fears on this one?

If you cannot judge a player is good based on clips, I suppose it is only fair not to write them off using the same form of evidence.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

13 May 2017 20:02:57
I feel the same mate looks more like Ron than Ronaldinho.

13 May 2017 20:30:37
He was brilliant at the olympics but that's the olympics - can't really judge a player there.

13 May 2017 21:09:22
According to the liverpool echo article the other week with the Brazilian journalist about cout and bobby he's the next best thing to come out of brazil.

13 May 2017 21:31:38
He looks nothing like me Fatwallet. 😡.

13 May 2017 22:25:49
He seems to be talented but likewise only going off YouTube footage, doesn't seem to like to pass to players in a better position than him.

13 May 2017 22:57:50
Surely if the great ronaldhino recommends him I think must say something.

14 May 2017 01:01:05
Pretty sure all the Brazilians said Robinho was the next Ronaldo. How did that work out? ;)

13 May 2017 19:35:34
Ok time to digress. Its by no means a given but the whole 1-11 have to play their hearts out tomorrow to do everything and win the game. We have to keep it tight also as we don't wanna leave ourselves open to the counter. KLOPP needs to stand up and be counted and pick the right team to win the game and change things quickly if its not going to plan. No slow lethargic starts please, no taking 6 and 7 touches and slow passing. Play lallana and studge ahead of Lucas and origi and give TAA the chance please beacuse clyne is too predictable and easy to play against we need width to draw them out to open pockets for couts lall to pick out studge and Firmino. Get the job done lads and get us to champs league cos of we don't get their its ultimately your fault for crumbling from such a great 1st half of the season. Come Summer bye bye clyne milner lucas klaven and any others who are too weak for prem and hopefully champs lge challenge. YNWA come on lads get behind the team and cheers us over the line esp any fan at the match. Out time is NOW.

13 May 2017 20:02:02
The stage is set for Sturridge to rescue his Liverpool career. Keep the faith.

13 May 2017 20:17:41
Or seal a move to west ham by scoring 2 to show them he is the man for them 😁.

13 May 2017 20:32:48
Least we know a draw is no good now!

13 May 2017 21:54:24
I somehow think that Sturridge lost his Liverpool career many many months ago.

14 May 2017 00:34:34
I agree Davie and it's sad because he's the best we have.

13 May 2017 19:12:25
Regardless of today's results, Liverpool are in with an excellent chance of top 4. If we don't win the last 2 games we don't deserve it. I'd rather 'win' 4th spot then have it handed to us by the failings of others.
Hoping to see Lallanna and Sturridge in the line up at the expense of Lucas and Origi (hopefully Firminho will be fit) .

Believable5 Unbelievable1

13 May 2017 19:19:42
Jist beat west ham end of. Its 1 game to get us top 4.

14 May 2017 00:27:52
Spot on, Spud and CK. Nothing changes for us really. It is Arsenal who still owe their fate to others. We don't. This is our biggest game since Seville and we have a chance to show that we have the bottle, steel and mental strength to go out there and take what is ours. WH will not just let us walk in their house and take it cos as we know, Spurs failed miserably there. Klopp should have no probs motivating the players. It is in our hands and it is time we go out there and finish the job.

13 May 2017 19:12:10
Well that's a wrap, it's on us tomorrow. We drop points and we wouldn't deserve top 4. This is where the players and manager earn their respect.

Believable6 Unbelievable1

14 May 2017 00:28:42
Spot on, Kman. All that happened in the last 36 games (thrills, frills, disappointments and frustrations) no longer matter. All that matters is that by the end of 95 mins, our 4 point advantage over Arsenal remains. That's it. No more, no less. YNWA!

13 May 2017 19:07:03
Goal difference now back in play too. 4 1. Ten to go.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

13 May 2017 20:09:38
Goal difference is irrelavent, win our two games and we are in the champions league, I hope the players don't try and score more goals for goal difference coz I remember a certain Crystal Palace game that cost us big time trying score more.

13 May 2017 19:04:34
I'm all for getting into the top 4 on our own merit and all but if this arsenal side manage it we need three points otherwise it's over. Moyes couldn't manage a full English without dropping it all over him nevermind taking points at the Emirates and we all know what happened when we needed Everton to help us out last time don't we.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

13 May 2017 18:54:31
Come on Stoke!
Good one Crouchy!

Believable1 Unbelievable2

13 May 2017 18:52:07
So arsenal are on course to win.

If we fail to turn up tomorrow there is a big problem.

It's simple they have to win so anything other than 100% from each player and questions will need to be asked.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

13 May 2017 18:43:23
Stating the obvious but we were 10 points ahead of Arsenal post the Saints game. Arsenal played three and won three since then. 1 point ahead. Pressure is on - can we deal with it?

Believable1 Unbelievable2

13 May 2017 18:46:26
Top 4 gone get over it.

13 May 2017 19:21:58
What kind of supporter are you louigi.

13 May 2017 19:47:59
An Everton supporter?

{Ed025's Note - hey..your not palming him off on us ron..

13 May 2017 21:33:20
Sorry 25, he's more of a Barnsley supporter 😉.

{Ed025's Note - thats more like it ron.. :)

14 May 2017 00:30:07
Never seen him before in my 5 yrs on this forum, Super. He's not an LFC fan except one who has been hiding in his closet since the season began and only came over here to troll us when Arsenal (prolly his team) won a game. We are still in the top 4 till we no longer are, Louigi (your name is not even spelt right, Italian style) so pipe down cos I will love to see your face when (yes, when) we beat WH tmrw. We have ours and your fate in our own hands as of right now and if we do the job, you will be having Thursday night footie next season.

13 May 2017 18:41:55
Going to have to win our last two games. Stoke have been hopeless today.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

14 May 2017 00:32:44
I mentioned it repeatedly all through the week. Like Saints, Stoke, Sunderland and the Bitters, will not do a thing vs Arsenal. Thank Heavens, we have our fate in our own hands cos relying on these is like relying on a toddler, to drive you safely to the airport.

13 May 2017 18:32:43
West Ham have both Noble and Kouyate out
That was their midfield that played against spurs
Were not going to get a better chance than this to get 3 points.

Believable3 Unbelievable4

13 May 2017 18:45:52
Won't matter really. What matters is whether our players can handle the pressure or whether they bottle it. Perfect way to judge if the squad is filled with winners or bottlers.

13 May 2017 19:08:21
I think the result really depends on whether the players turn up or not and if the preparation was correct. We should be able to scrape a result against West Ham but this team buckles under pressure. We drop points tomorrow and it's over in my opinion.

13 May 2017 19:26:08
Klopp needs to not play Lucas and can in the same midfield that would be a start.

Got a horrible feeling it will be an unchanged team against.

14 May 2017 00:33:13
You can always make in game changes, 12 12 so not too bothered there. Now will Klopp make these in game changes when necessary? That is the question.

13 May 2017 18:18:41
FFS does anything go our way.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

13 May 2017 18:22:23
It shouldn't matter what other teams do, I'd rather we managed to get to where we want to be on our own merits than because the other teams threw it away. If we do the job we deserve it, if not we didn't.

13 May 2017 18:26:06
Glen Johnson doing his best to help Arsenal win.

13 May 2017 18:45:08
Well all the other teams who are "gone on holidays" haven't shown up vs arsenal or city in the past few weeks but they bloody well have vs us typical.

14 May 2017 07:32:51
They've shown up against us all season. Because they fancy their chances.

13 May 2017 17:27:11
Here's hoping we see a Joe Allen stormer with him scoring a 30 yard winner in the 88th minute!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

13 May 2017 17:48:29
Glen Johnson is defending like he did at Liverpool at moment. 15 gone 0 0 but arsenal looking decent at moment.

13 May 2017 17:58:59
Was just reading sky sports coverage and the last post was "Stoke seem to lack any kind of intensity" I guess they are on their holidays being safe and all, the upshot is we don't need any favours if we win our last 2.

13 May 2017 23:56:55
I said repeatedly that Stoke will provide little to no resistance and Glen Johnson is proving me right with his brainfarts already. Arsenal is up 1-0 and I expect Stoke to crumble after this now cos Arsenal will just play counter attack and they are lethal at taking advantage of open spaces.

13 May 2017 16:54:20
Hi Eds .
Indirectly Liverpool related .

What are your opinions on Craig Shakespeare?

I didn't know a lot about him before he took over from Ranieri; but each time I hear him summarise his teams and the refs etc. performance, He comes across very well, and has done a great job turning Leicesters season around.

Our rivals for top 4 got away with 3 points when they should have drawn or lost!

Cities goal was offside and Mahrez double touched the ball on the penalty' so the goal was disallowed by the ref and his assistants; who For some reason failed to see 2 city players encroaching on the penalty.

The encroachment came before the double tap so at least the Penalty should have been re taken.

Unlucky Leicester but a great comeback performance that deserved at least a point.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - he is a friend of the players, not a manager.}

13 May 2017 17:10:26
Short term fix i think.

{Ed001's Note - he is an excellent coach, but he is too close to the players to keep discipline, in fact he was a part of the problem in the first place due to his closeness to them.}

13 May 2017 17:18:26
Thanks for the reply Ed.

I definitely see your point about being too close to the players a assistant manager; but, the team has reacted well to him and surely that's the aim of any manager who ultimately are judged on the results.

Going forward it would be nice to see another home grown manager in the premier league.

{Ed001's Note - I don't care where a manager or player comes from, Shakespeare will struggle when he needs to maintain discipline. Where was he when discipline broke down at the beginning of the season? He was a big part of the problem, he is not a solution.}

13 May 2017 18:15:54
isn't he the snake that got Claudio fired.

14 May 2017 00:26:10
Ed is right. You don't replace a failing manager with his assistant. It is just nonsense. It is the job of the assistant to know the players as he serves as a liason btw the manager and the players. Once the assistant becomes the head man, he is in trouble cos the players cos they have always seen him as their BFF, he will have issues maintaining discipline because that notion of being the players' BFF will not go away overnight and when results start going south, they will turn on him too. Again, you don't replace failure with it's assistant no if you want to improve as a club.

13 May 2017 19:44:39
Thanks for the reply Ed.

Final questionstage.

Do you think that he will be there next year?

Or if a new coach comes in will he drop down to assistant again.

{Ed001's Note - I expect him to get the job in the summer, as that will help them keep the players. It will all end in tears I am sure.}

13 May 2017 16:26:49
So how do people think Arsenal will get on tonight . stoke being a tough place to go is a bit dated their not as physical a team as they were . if Arsenal win it puts us under pressure tomorrow just hope we play with braver tactics tomorrow and play to our strengths.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

13 May 2017 16:40:11
I can't see them scoring a late winner.
We shouldn't be relying on results going our way though as top 4 really is in our hands.

13 May 2017 17:01:36
Yeah it really is simple, if we don't win our last 2 games then we don't deserve top 4.

13 May 2017 17:11:04
I think they will beat Stoke quite easily.

13 May 2017 23:44:56
Stoke will provide very little resistance just like Saints did in midweek even tho, I am open to being proven wrong. I do agree that regardless of the result today, if we get it done vs WH tmrw and Boro next Sun, Aresnal would have won today's game and their other games for absolutely nothing. It's in our hands, lads. Now go out there and get it done.

13 May 2017 15:59:44
Only just realised arsenal play today before our match tomorrow. Normally klopp will say we should focus on just our games and ignore other teams around us but based on the arsenal result today it should determine how we play tomorrow.

If arsenal draw or lose, we should carry on with the same tactics, but if arsenal win, we can't rely on what we've been doing for the past weeks and we have to setup more positive.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

13 May 2017 16:14:13
Regardless of th result, we have to win.

13 May 2017 16:22:29
I agree this negative approach is not only hard to watch it isn't getting us anywhere.

13 May 2017 23:46:32
The OP is right. I fArsenal don't win then we should go into the game aiming for the win of course but knowing that if we can't win, we should definitely not lose.

13 May 2017 15:59:18
Hey Ed001! Would like to know your view on Luan from Gremio with whom we are being linked? What kind of player he is and whether he is a good fit for our team? Thanx in advance.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - never seen him play, been a while since I watched any Brazilian league football.}

13 May 2017 13:14:56
Are we likely to be in for Barkley or Vadry? Or will we take the usual route and get Redmond from Southampton?

Believable1 Unbelievable9

13 May 2017 13:23:57
Vardy? I'd take him so all the players can take it in turns slapping him.

13 May 2017 15:31:20
My God barkley or vardy. I'm sure there are better targets available for us then those two.

13 May 2017 23:48:07
How about we take neither of them (esp. Barkley who is a poor excuse for a footballer) and move on to other targets.

13 May 2017 13:05:03
How nice would it be to see one of the swaggering, assertive performances of early season against West ham tomorrow. Where we put the game to bed comfortably and not have to rely on a penalty or coutinho wonder goal. Can't see anything changing though. Don't buy that it's teams sitting back against us either, did the likes of Watford really come to outplay us when we destroyed them?

Believable5 Unbelievable0

13 May 2017 13:25:25
They didn't
We got a break through and then the game opened up.

13 May 2017 13:30:42
It's not unlike us to just turn it on and produce a stunning performance so who knows?

What I do know is we will likely need 2 wins so it's all or bust.

13 May 2017 14:14:46
I'd take a boring, listless 0-1 victory tbh. Anything, as long we get three points.

13 May 2017 14:14:48
I just hope we get given the same amount of decisions that Man City have got today from Bobby Madley.
I've never seen such blatant bias in a long time.
And how Fernandinho stayed on the pitch for the elbow on Albrighton is totally beyond me!

13 May 2017 15:49:37
Referring in this country has defiantly gone south, each game of football is worth millions you'd think they would try to up their game but it's just got worse.

Some great refs in other so called lesser league so I don't see why we have such poor ones.

Not that I know the names of these refs but I've watched loads of games where the refereeing has been brilliant.

13 May 2017 15:55:26
Man City def got the rub of the green today, first goal should have been disallowed, sterling was offside when he made a real attempt to connect with goal bound shot, the less that I say about the penalty the better .

13 May 2017 23:52:49
The City game was a shambles. first goal should have been disallowed. Fernandinho should have been red carded for his blatant assault on Albrighton. I could not believe the amount of breaks City got today. Bobby Madley was poor in our game vs Saints and he actually succeeded in doing far worse than the last game. Refereeing in this country is bang awful cos it seems referees are confused and indecisive when they need to make decisions. It's only going to get worse as the stakes become higher in games. Hopefully vs WH, we don't get done my the ref's momentary incompetence.

13 May 2017 12:26:07
Hmm love it how BBC are comparing Chelsea changing there starting side little compared to Man City. They both have the same amount of games to play right? Anyway if things go to plan we will be playing more games. That concerns me as we don't have a starting 11 that really suits our current tactics. I think it's clear Klopp has a good plan a but we have a few weak links to play that system namely the full backs. Without Mane there is no creativity out wide. If we can address this then I think we are going places. Teams don't need to concern themselves to heavily when the ball goes out to Clyne. Add a more creative player who can take the opposing full back on and it will create more options out wide and more space in the middle too.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

13 May 2017 12:52:02
Two attacking full backs with good crossing ability will make a world of difference to our attacking play. Gives the likes of Sturridge and Origi something to get on the end of, and the likes of Firmino, Lallana and Couts get more space to operate.

13 May 2017 23:55:04
Absolutely, Buzzer. Our system requires quality from the FB's and the fact that we are where we are with a hapless Clyne and make shift Milner, is a small miracle in itself. These two positions need to be upgraded massively in the offseason otherwise, Origi, Firmino Studge or whoever, will struggle and it will not be their fault. It will be Klopp's.

13 May 2017 08:51:31
I hope Grujic starts tomorrow. He is a bit of an unknown quantity to teams in this league and I feel we need something different to surprise teams who these days seem to see our style of play coming a mile off. He's big, strong, direct and has a goal in him. Fait heart never won fair maiden Norbert lad.
time to give the big Serb his chance to shine.

Believable15 Unbelievable0

13 May 2017 10:33:18
Really hope Grujic gets his chance against West Ham. Gini looks knackered so a midfield of Lallana, Grujic and Can should have what it takes to dominate a severely weakened West Ham midfield.

13 May 2017 10:53:05
grujic is not going to start in a game like this. klopp would put milner in midfield before grujic.

13 May 2017 11:47:21
Wiseryan I agree, klopp won't change a thing for west ham.

He will against Boro if results go our way.

13 May 2017 11:55:37
wiseryan, so who plays at LB? Moreno?
Klopp has zero faith in Moreno. And Milner will never play in midfield for the club again imo. Will be 2nd choice Lb or leave. Too many better midfielders already at the club.

13 May 2017 07:07:25
Congratulations to Chelsea. Hopefully one day it will be us although I do not know when.

{Ed025's Note - 2068 im thinking the one.. :)

13 May 2017 07:28:47
Next season if we buy some defenders that can defend.

13 May 2017 08:43:37
Agreed, Reaper. Hope the club sees the obvious too.

13 May 2017 09:01:33
Ed25 - just thinking 2068 is making me feel depressed! If that's our wait, I Can't imagine how the blue half of Merseyside are feeling about theirs.

{Ed025's Note - i have worked it all out on the computer faith, we win it in 2018 mate.. :)

13 May 2017 10:17:28
Even then, it will be sooner than you Ed 25 😉.

{Ed025's Note - no welsh, according to my calculations we win it net year mate and as you well know im never wrong mate.. :)

13 May 2017 17:16:13
Whenever it is it will still be before Everton.
