The ONLY exception is when 2 teams NOT in the top 4 win the 2 European tournaments.

My biggest worry is what Ed002 says about PSG's interest in Firmino. Would hate to lose this fella. Cannot try and think what names our fans would come up with to replace Firmino. Run to the hills, run for your lives.

Question after yesterday, is winning without playing well is rare.
Big teams the team plays well, the three in midfield and the three up front.
'Lesser' teams, do we need three in the middle? I'd like to see firmino play ten behind a striker. Do we need wijnaldum and lallana when the high press doesn't work as the opposition sits deep and plays long? Shouldn't we be confident enough to play a striker with firmino? When hendos fit, he holds the middle on his own anyway, if one of can lallana and gini plays, that should be enough right?

Maybe if the players just decided to turn up against the 'lesser' teams then we would not be talking about tactics, formations etc etc etc.

I think because both are playing well it's hard to drop them . At the start of the season I thought Lallana would be a sub player and we would play 4--2-3-1.

We don't press as frenetically against lesser teams. Part of it is as you say, seems there is less need. But the other part and i think is the most part, is that we haven't been turning up.

We don't press coz there is no need to press and win the ball back as the opposition has no intentions to keep the ball. They want us to have the ball and commit all our men into their territory so they break us and hit on counter.

In such condition you need more than just mere run and move. You need vision and intelligence to split the defense or use the given oppprtunities such as corners, set pieces etc to their maximum.

We are limited coz we know only way of playing and scoring.

A Point home or away against the bigger clubs or better yet a win is a huge boost to any of the teams that are looking over their shoulders at relegation.
At the start of each season they set out their must win games, might win games and not a chance win games.

A win or a draw against us leaves a little less pressure to win the so called 6 pointers against their rivals for relegation

I look at our fixtures and do the same but always expect 3 points from the lower teams. That's why it's so frustrating when we lose.

Possibly they look at LFC defence and fancy their chances. Just like teams always fancied roughing up Arsenal.
