ok cheers mate.

12 Oct 2017 20:44:41
ok cheers mate.

12 Oct 2017 13:32:25
A question for Ed001 if you're around mate.

We all know that you are a big admirer of Firmino, most of us are as well.

So I was wondering if there was any player in the world, that Liverpool could feasibly get (ie not Messi, Neymar, Ronaldo etc etc) that you would swap for Firmino at the moment?

If so, who, and if not, why?

Cheers in advance.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - I can't think of anyone I would swap him for that we could get.}

12 Oct 2017 14:05:32
Good question actually mate. For his position (s) who would be willing to join us, who is as good as Firmino. That's a difficult one.

12 Oct 2017 15:16:22
I know this would be controversial but Suarez is the one player whose natural style would suit us 100%.

Whether he would be available?
We wouldn't know till we tried,
Maybe he'd be willing to work with Klopp,

Firminio is Suarez minus the goal tally, IMO.

12 Oct 2017 16:11:54
That's such a tough question! Any answer is going to seem like I'm dis honouring Bobby who it is impossible not to love if you're a lfc fan. There must be someone out there who would improve us at CF. Who we could sign. It's not only goals that firmino brings and I think we looked awful against Newcastle without him. (Sorry sturridge, love ya bro) suarez is a good shout. Sanchez maybe.

12 Oct 2017 16:23:31
Mot interested in Suarez return thanks. 🤝.

12 Oct 2017 16:24:25
What about Alexis Sanchez?

12 Oct 2017 16:29:58
Agree with the above comment that Bobby is Suarez without the goals, such a great player and so underrated, if only he could hit the back of the net more often! Maybe he can improve this area of his game though I’d suggest it’s much easier to get better at finishing/ shooting than it is to get better at all the things Bobby is already great at. Have to say I’d swap him for Sanchez though because that is what Bobby would be if he scored more regularly.

12 Oct 2017 17:40:30
Hazard?

12 Oct 2017 17:42:05
Carassco would pawnz Firmino when played in false 9.

12 Oct 2017 18:10:19
Timo Werner or Alexis Sanchez for me. Firmino to play as a number 10.

12 Oct 2017 18:44:24
Lewandowski isn't happy in Bayern he knows klopp system and I'm pretty sure he will do very well with us.

12 Oct 2017 18:54:48
Probably Dres Mertens.

12 Oct 2017 19:12:37
It's amazing how fans insist an out an out striker would not fit into Klopps system if one was to replace Firminho up top. Aren't Lewandowski and Aubemyang out and out strikers who have had exceptional success under Klopps system in the past.

{Ed025's Note - very much so jayden, its these apologists who bury their head in the sand and pretend nothings wrong mate..

12 Oct 2017 19:13:26
Dries Mertens. Having a hell of a time at Napoli. Unlikely to be available though. He's great with Insigne, like Coutinho and Firmino but quicker.

12 Oct 2017 19:34:51
Jayden, it is a matter of opinion and no one is an apologist just cos they disagree with you. That is a myopic way of thinking. I love Lewa (have done so for ages) and I would love him too while Aubameyang clearly has issues as NOBODY bid for him in the summer which means he ain't worth it. Klopp knows him very well so if he did not sbid for him, there must be a reason why.

Back on topic, I would take Sanchez in a heartbeat to replace Firmino as he is both Suarez and Firmino rolled up in one. I do love Firmino tho as many strikers cannot do what he is good at which like it or not, is essential in Klopp's system, a system that has produced near 200 goals (190 to be exact) in the last two season, in all comps.

12 Oct 2017 20:07:01
Bingo have you been drinking. Ed 25 commented about apologist thinking and I never mentioned anyone disagreeing with me 🤦🏻‍♂.

12 Oct 2017 20:13:20
Really BR "Suarez and Firminio rolled up in one? " What have you been smoking? Only Messi and Ronaldo are above Suarez and I include Bale and Neymar in that. Suarez can carry a team on his back, can Sanchez?

12 Oct 2017 21:23:18
a fit younger tevez.

12 Oct 2017 21:48:38
Bingo. You love to keep throwing out stats of how much we score ect. Yes we score plenty of goals but having a lewandowski or whoever up front would help us even more that's not even a debate. If you wanna throw out stats klopp has a win percentage that is less than a manager we sacked 2 years ago to replace him? Is it time to replace him as stats don't lie obviously? I don't want klopp sacked by the way. Forget about stats!

12 Oct 2017 23:25:48
Vardy?

12 Oct 2017 23:32:02
always thought if firmino had Sturridge's 2012 pace and finishing, and coutinho had suarez' mongrel then we'd be unstoppable.

13 Oct 2017 01:58:31
I wish if I knew what all Firminio fans are smoking. Yes he looks good but we are elevating him over the top.

Yes there is no harm in dreaming.

13 Oct 2017 05:35:12
what about danny ings? a fit ings with firmino can give defenders nightmares during the game.

{Ed001's Note - I doubt he will be back to anything like his best for a season or even two or more.}

13 Oct 2017 08:08:24
IR, your post makes very little sense. I am not a stats guy either cos any stat can be used to make a point while another can be used to debunk it. I used that statistic cos it is relevant to the discussion as to whether Klopp's system will benefit more with a natural striker. The proof is that a striker like Lewa or Suarez could well work as one has played in a high press system while the other is Klopp's creation and knows his system inside out. Apart from those two, I don't know anyone who can do the job and play the way Firmino plays. The stat I put out about goals scored is a fact that cannot be disproven by any other stat or metric. This is where stats matter.

As for your stat comparison with BR having a better win pct than Klopp, that is a red herring as there are many factors to consider there. Klopp found a worse team (w/ o Suarez, SG and Suarez with an injured Studge) than the one BR had in 2014. Most of BR's wins game in that 11 game win streak in 2014. His last 18 months on the job were dire hence, he got the sack.

To conclude, BR is not a patch on Klopp in any shape or form and the facts bear that out. Klopp is a winner and has proven his worth in Germany, not Scotland (with leagues and cups to prove it) and in Europe (he has played in a CL and EL final) and has improved us since the shambles left behind by. BR. These are facts that cannot be disputed by any other stat or metric. Apart from all that, I agree, Forget about stats.

13 Oct 2017 08:23:55
N'gog?

{Ed001's Note - obviously top of the list is Nogoals mate.}

13 Oct 2017 09:37:29
I would love to see more of Ings, unfortunately the poor fella has had too much bad luck since signing, I think there's a hidden gem in him. Question is will we ever see it? it looks doubtful but we can only hope, stand by him and wish his fitness all the best.

Personally I think a loan to somewhere like Newcastle would suit him down to the ground, gets him some games, gets his fitness back up, then hopefully he can return fresh for us. Well that'd be the ideal situation, let's see how it pans out. On the other hand, though I'd be gutted to see it happen, it wouldn't surprise me if we got rid.

13 Oct 2017 10:24:58
NGOg the hero scoring that goal at end of Man U game.

13 Oct 2017 11:03:20
There was a time city signed to robinho by just chucking money at him.

Sanchez might not want the move bu5 I'd back the lot on him. 300k per week 4 year deal and like a 30 mil signing on fee which in itself would be half or a quarter of his transfer fee. Just see if he bites.

If we signed him, it would he easier signing other tip players as city proved after by signing theblikes of toure, Silva and aguero.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool has zero interest in Sanchez.}

12 Oct 2017 12:31:42
Huge game Coming up. Interested to get everyone's thoughts on rye striker situation. I posted on numerous occasions in the summer that Liverpool should not only be strengthening in goal and centre back but also up top. The lack of a proven goalscorer has so far been our downfall this season. The amount of chances we create is unreal. Wingers will weigh in with 10-15 goals but it's the go to striker who can be relied upon to bag one or 2 that is sadly lacking. Sturridge just will not recover his form from 4 years ago, solanke is learning his trade and firmino, although I'm a fan is a number 10. This needs to be addressed in the next couple of windows.

Aside from that it's been obvious that Robertson is not a Klopp signing. Moreno has done ok but continues to be a liability. Robertson is equally as good going forward but with a much better final ball. Prob is their is no striker to get on the end of them. look at our competition! Kane, aguero, morata, lukaku.

Believable3 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool added a striker in the summer in Solanke and have enough on the books that Origi went out on loan and Danny Ings is being looked at because he cannot get a game at Liverpool. So adding another striker is not a priority for the club immediately unless they are going to move players on.}

12 Oct 2017 15:23:38
It shouldn't only be down to the striker/ s to get in the box to be on the end of the crosses,

The box to box men have to get in as well rather than waiting for a knock down for a shot from outside the box,

Ox put a header over the bar the last time out, he missed but at least he had made the run to be in the posistion to make the header,

12 Oct 2017 15:54:25
We have been missing what are effectively open goals. That's down to form and a mental block. Natural strikers have that too. We'll get past it and be back to scoring five a game without the needs to buy.

12 Oct 2017 16:20:19
Robertson is the one who's final ball is not quite good enough yet, not moreno. Of course Robertson is a klopp signing. He sat dodn with moreno and told the lad he was buying a lb in the summer. Robertson first thought is to cross the ball whereas moreno tries to look for a pass. It is next to pointless whipping in cross after cross as we are hardly an Ariel threat. I think this is why robbo hasn't played much yet. Klopp is still training him. And moreno has been pretty good.

12 Oct 2017 16:26:06
Superred- neither is good enough
Even the player Roberteno combining the best of both would not be good enough for lfc.

12 Oct 2017 16:35:21
If you look at robertsons crosses, they rarely require someone with an ariel presence. They are more often than not low whipped balls. Perfect for players crashing the goal. Part of the problem is the 2 different styles of delivery. Moreno looks to the top of the box. Robertson delivers to the six yard box. If we stick with one of the 2. Players in the box will know where to make the run. I like both btw. Consistency is key when confidence is not as high as it should be.

12 Oct 2017 17:01:48
I agree it should not be down to the striker to get on the end of things. Problem is we don't have one! Wingers will weigh in with goals but it is a clinical finisher we need. Ed, we brought in Solanke for the future surely a club our size cannot be content with a false 9, injury ruined liability, a youngster just starting out and a guy who hasn't played a competitive game in 2 years!

In relation to Robertson the majority of his deliveries are excellent and whipped right in where it hurts. Moreno's is average at best.

{Ed002's Note - Plus Origi who the club sent out on loan because Klopp's preference is for Firmino and Sturridge. If they were to see a couple - Ings and Firmino say, then there would be an argument to add another, but it is impractical to keep adding players in a position where there are plenty already. The efforts should be made to add a centre back in January and that should be the focus. If anyone were to leave in January then they might also need replacing, but I rather doubt Coutinho will go before the summer, but perhaps the club will look to get a return on Emre Can - we will see.}

12 Oct 2017 21:08:45
I disagree with Ed002 about adding a centre half in January. I think we need two. Or even three.

12 Oct 2017 22:44:46
Yeah Rigsby but what are the chances of that.

{Ed002's Note - the chance of one is reasonable.}

12 Oct 2017 23:01:10
I think we'll get one Ed002 mate, but not 2-3, I'd expect us to get one in January and maybe another in the summer. Well, we can only hope anyway. The only thing is, I really can't see us getting VVD (not in January anyway) so who the hell do we go for. Who's available and who would want to come. It's one of them, there's not many top quality center backs out there, not available ones anyway. That is concerning.

{Ed002's Note - Stefan de Vrij.}

12 Oct 2017 23:51:39
Has the tapping started ed?

{Ed002's Note - Sorry, do you want me to delete this thread. No one asks about transfers anymore because people like you just want it all deleted. great job.}

13 Oct 2017 11:00:34
hi ed, do you know if liverpool have interest in Stafan De Vrij? as you have mentioned a centre back should be the priority. i am not mistaken his contract is almost up and his club might be will to get a return in Jan?

{Ed002's Note - Lazio's Stefan de Vrij has been the subject of interest from a number of sides. Chelsea considered him in the summer of 2017 but were concerned by his injury history. Inter Milan and Juventus also looked to de Vrij but Lazio were not open to a sale to an Italian side. Manchester United opted for Victor Lindelof over a number of players they considered including de Vrij. Arsenal considered the player but thought the price to be an issue. The player continues to stall over a new contract at Lazio and unless they give in to his demand for a low termination clause, then his contract will run down. Liverpool could be tempted by a January move to avoid any sort of summer frenzy but Klopp needs to overcome his banality in recruiting defenders - else he might opt to hang on for Benedikt Howedes and hope Juventus don't take up their option, even potentially letting him go in January.}

13 Oct 2017 11:16:54
Thanks for the update Ed002.

13 Oct 2017 11:39:47
thanks ed002. much appreciated. don't know much about him. but it does seem that its top teams who have looked at him so fingers crossed he would be a good addtiotion of we persued the option.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

13 Oct 2017 12:16:32
Ed02, did we not bid for De Vrij this past summer or did I get that wrong?

{Ed002's Note - discussed only - no offer.}

13 Oct 2017 13:50:30
Thanks, Ed. On another note, is he still being discussed as an option for say, Jan or and is the club looking to bring in a CB in Jan if possible? Thanks in advance.

{Ed002's Note - RTP.}

14 Oct 2017 01:38:25
Sorry Ed, have I missed something regarding your comment, No offence intended,
It was meant as banter,

Luis Suarez

12 Oct 2017 10:23:36
{Ed's Note - we have posted a new player profile about, Luis Suarez

Believable7 Unbelievable0

12 Oct 2017 10:44:35
He truly is world class indeed. If it wasnt for him been a nutter he'd of been even more, he shot himself in his own foot whilst at Liverpool what with him munching on players and all but still a fantastic player that's something we can't be took away from him. Another good one Ed001, thanks mate.

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate, it was difficult to do that one as I can't forgive him for the way he acted and his actions leading to our greatest ever getting the sack. No player is good enough to end Dalglish's career like that and get away with it imo. It was not easy trying not to just rant about him!}

12 Oct 2017 11:55:10
Great pic Ed 😂.

{Ed001's Note - thanks mate.}

12 Oct 2017 12:24:59
Good article ed and spot on about king Kenny especially after the backing he gave Suarez
Up the pool.

{Ed001's Note - thank you Redan.}

12 Oct 2017 13:33:20
Thanks Ed definitely enjoy reading these articles you put up and as you mentioned the legend that is Dalglish will you be doing a bit on him too hint hint.

{Ed001's Note - the King is most defo on the list mate don't worry. I am really looking for non-Liverpool legends now, as I don't want it to just end up being only Liverpool!}

12 Oct 2017 14:01:50
I couldn't agree more Ed001 mate.

{Ed001's Note - I sickens me to see Liverpool fans fawn over him after what he did to someone who has done so much for the fans. They would rather support a little verminous rat who dragged the club through the gutter and tried his very best to force his way out over a legend who would crawl over broken glass just to represent the club and did so much after Hillsborough.}

12 Oct 2017 15:45:11
To me they don't get much better than the King mate and your totally correct. He did drag us through the dirt and he's the reason behind the kings end of career. After he stood by him time and time again the rodent never learnt and cared about only one person, himself. Instead of thinking about a legends career or the club. I must admit it really does infuriate me. I'm on the bus and i think veins are popping out my head.

12 Oct 2017 16:48:48
not only was he Liverpool's greatest ever player he is a true gentleman, totally deserving of his legendary status, long live the king!

{Ed025's Note - he was ok i suppose..

12 Oct 2017 17:19:07
How about Torres ed? An article on him would be great!

{Ed001's Note - he is already on the list for player profiles mate, so I will be doing him as soon as I get round to it. Just another 14 or 15 to do before him, plus any legends I do inbetween....}

12 Oct 2017 19:42:59
Ed01 on the Suarez tip, I know he did KK wrong and eventually cost him his job and I cannot fault you or anyone for the way you feel about him. However, I will say that from the outside looking in, Suarez may have realized the errors of his ways and maybe, he is trying to rebuild the bridges he burnt with KK. I say this bc when Suarez was to be awarded the European Golden Boot award a couple of years ago, he asked that it be presented to him by Kenny. I thought that was a nice touch from Suarez to do that.

IMO, this could be a way for Suarez to mend fences with Kenny for what he had done. It is my belief that people can change and become better individuals and their sins should not always be held over them as no man is irredeemable PROVIDED he/ she has realized their mistakes and try to make amends. Suarez may be trying to do that now. Just a thought.

{Ed001's Note - he would have to do a lot more than that to make amends.}

12 Oct 2017 22:42:54
Thanks ed! Only 14 or 15!? I'll be requesting a few more I think to keep you busy.

{Ed001's Note - good man, I would hate to run out! However that is 14 or 15 until Torres and another 14 or 15 or so after Torres....}

13 Oct 2017 07:07:46
Any chance of a couple of Italians getting on tour list? No, I don't mean Aquilani and Dossena, I'm talking Del Piero and Totti?

Any chance Ed?

{Ed001's Note - should I scratch off Aquaman and Dossena then? nd yes of course, I have added the pair to the list.}

13 Oct 2017 07:50:42
As impressive as I think reading about the Italian Darren Anderton (Aquilani) and Dossena (who I suppose will always be involved in the folklore of our 4-1 Old Trafford victory) would be I think they can exit the list Ed, lol.

{Ed001's Note - Andrea did score in the 4-0 win over Real Madrid as well though.....

As for Aquaman, anyone who can fool the scouts into thinking he is a real football player, while actually being an extra on Casualty, does deserve an entry surely?}

13 Oct 2017 08:08:59
Ha, I forgot about Dossena's goal scoring finesse. Not a bad way to score your only goals for Liverpool.

The problem with Aquilani is that there were so many better options than him that it made no sense. Maybe instead of doing a profile on him you could get him for a video interview on the art of trickery?

{Ed001's Note - Rafa made a huge mistake with Aquilani - he trusted the scouts. Our scouting has been crap for many years, still is. Too much based on stats and not enough research done into player backgrounds and watching them. Stats should be the way to identify players to look at, not how to choose them! Even the stats companies would never claim it to be the be all and end all, but we have relied too heavily on them in recent years, which is why we signed players like Clyne.}

12 Oct 2017 08:07:27
Good morning eds/ reds hope you all have a great day! :)
