Anyone seen Daniel Agger's new tattoos?

Man obviously still loves the club.

Believable17 Unbelievable1

12 Oct 2016 23:26:20
Top player, and a top man.

13 Oct 2016 00:08:58
He's a true legend isn't he, I'd love to see him back at the club in some sort of coaching role or something.

13 Oct 2016 03:22:36
He could be the club's official tattooist.

13 Oct 2016 05:50:52
Tattoos!

13 Oct 2016 08:59:08
I don't really see him as a legend to be honest, sort of takes away from the true legendary players we've had. Agger was nothing more than a decent defender for me. No doubt injuries stopped him fulfilling his potential and no doubting his obvious commitment, but I wouldn't call him a legend.

13 Oct 2016 09:44:39
Injuries and a certain Martin Skrtel stopped him fulfilling his potential. When he was fully fit and playing beside Carragher, he was the best defender in the league but it just wasnt often enough.

13 Oct 2016 10:58:50
Fair points hjikle and Ron.

13 Oct 2016 11:27:46
Rejected ". Name your price fella. " out of hand from some of the biggest clubs in Europe to stick with Liverpool who literally were in a mess. Anger and Kuyt two players who would play football for free with us.
He should be where Owen currently is at.

13 Oct 2016 12:09:06
I think the term 'legend' should be reserved for players with unmatched achievements and a certain mystique around them.

Agger was a decent defender and i think the words you are looking for is that he was an excellent servant and a player we were proud to have, but was stopped short of fulfilling his potential.

13 Oct 2016 14:46:19
he may not be a legend in terms of achievements at the club, bt ill remember him even more than some of the better players simply because of his commitment and loyalty to lfc.

13 Oct 2016 15:19:36
Dan Agger could have moved and earned a lot more money than he was getting paid for us. I think the lad would play for LFC for free. He deserves a lot of respect as he stayed at the club during periods of terrible times and terrible managers. So for that reason he is a LFC legend.

13 Oct 2016 22:21:54
I think you're being unusually harsh Ron. Agger was an excellent centre back who would have been up there with Hansen had he not been injury prone. Legend. no. one of the best centre backs I've seen at the club in my lifetime. most definitely.

14 Oct 2016 11:46:15
No, definitely nowhere near Hansen's level.
Sorry but I watched a lot of Agger. Can't help but admire his love for the club. Great on the ball for a defender, but frequently out of position in general and usually out-competed in the air on crosses.

If you're talking about 'defending', which I am, Agger was 'decent' and Hansen was very very good. If you're talking about ability on the ball then I'd say they were 'similar'.

I can't believe anyone would regard Agger as a better defender than Carragher or Hyypia? It's not even a close comparison IMO.

{Ed001's Note - to be fair, most of Agger's positional issues came from playing alongside Skrtel and having to cover for him constantly. His positioning was excellent when he was alongside Carragher. He was not the best in the air but his quality on the ball made up for that, mostly.}

14 Oct 2016 13:02:19
Guess I''m out on a limb on this one which is fair enough, I just think Hyypia and Carra were far better defenders.
Like Agger as a lad though, just thought we've had much better defenders.

12 Oct 2016 20:42:53
Ed001 mate, what went wrong with young Jack Robinson, he looked like he could have been our left full for years to come.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - there were a few attitude issues.}

12 Oct 2016 21:46:19
He never really developed defensively either in my opinion. Although that may well have been due to him not training hard enough.

12 Oct 2016 22:00:23
Didnt he once mouth off to suarez in a cup game and was never seen again?

13 Oct 2016 00:09:45
Where is he now? forgot he existed until I saw this.

13 Oct 2016 20:02:00
It never looked like that to me whenever I saw him play. Could he have been? Maybe but his attitude problems may have ruined his chances.

12 Oct 2016 19:47:25
Hi Eds,

In an interview with Rob Jones he said "What I will say is that in the U16s we've got a really big talent. In fact, I'd say there are two with potential to be a star. " Any idea who these players are Eds?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - I am not up on the current crop of U16s, I will have to ask. It is difficult to be sure, as there are players that are eligible to play with the U16s that are in the U18 set up that he could have meant as well. So he could have meant someone like Woodburn or the lad we got from Citeh (Camacho?).}

12 Oct 2016 20:16:36
Cheers for the insight Ed001. Woodburn did look great and full of confidence during pre season. Our youth looks a lot brighter compared to 10 years ago when we were hoping Craig Linfield and Paul Anderson would make the grade!

{Ed001's Note - it has moved on a long way.}

12 Oct 2016 20:24:44
Would you say things started to change when Rafa came in?

12 Oct 2016 21:01:36
Camacho was the stand out player for the u18s the only time I've managed to watch them this season in the 4-1 loss to Everton he was a very very good right wing/ wing back/ right back on the day.

12 Oct 2016 22:44:40
Could be rhian brewster. played with woodburn in behind closed doors freindly!

12 Oct 2016 23:39:42
Hi all.

I just wantef to add about Rob Jones and what a great full back he was.
Sadly injury shortened what could have been a. stellar career with LFC.

I don't think We have had a better full since.

He's one ex player you like to hear is involved in the youth set up.
It can only be positive.

13 Oct 2016 00:11:27
absolutely dermot.

13 Oct 2016 07:48:29
Liam Millar.

Just signed a pro contract so don't know if he counts as u17. But he could be special.

12 Oct 2016 18:53:57
Maybe a poll, I don't know but my question is this.

Moreno, is he having a premature midlife crisis?

Believable0 Unbelievable7

12 Oct 2016 20:50:10
A mid-mid-life crisis!

12 Oct 2016 23:23:13
I think he's just having a crisis.

12 Oct 2016 23:48:34
Hi.

Moreno should spend some time watching Rob Jones replays. better yet spend time at the academy with him

He would find out that a good full back justs needs to make his opponent play a backward pass and not continue into thebox. Where you have to dive In with
A wrash tackle.

13 Oct 2016 09:00:30
I just want the lad to knuckle down and improve. Not bothered about his hair style. Feel a bit sorry for him at the moment because he is the latest whipping boy.

13 Oct 2016 10:53:30
I agree with that Ron.

Klopp said he's been doing well in training, I'd like to think he could come on one game and really surprise people. Having said this, it worries me to think of him been on against utd.

13 Oct 2016 12:42:24
I agree and disagree with you there Ron.

I think we all just want to see him knuckle down and do well. No real supporter ever wants to see a player struggle. You want them to improve and be as good as they can be.

But that is precisely the problem with Moreno and why is to some extend the "whipping boy". He hasn't improved defensively one bit since he has been with us and when he plays he continually makes the same idiotic mistakes. That is the frustration, its twofold. No real signs of improvement and a propensity to make the same mistakes all of the time.

I would love him to turn into the worlds best left back but I think the fact Milner has taken his place and kept him well out of the starting eleven speaks volumes (about both of them to be fair) .

13 Oct 2016 15:43:29
Spot on, Wassa!

12 Oct 2016 12:49:29
Hi eds,

I tried searching but never saw the answer to my question.

What's the situation with Danny ings?

I know we rejected all sorts of offers in the summer, but are we looking to keep him or get rid. As he hasn't featured much this season.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - he is just looking to get back to full match sharpness right now, there is no definite decision on him made as things stand.}

12 Oct 2016 13:43:53
He's been scoring regularly for the U23's. Hopefully he can't be too far away from being ready.

12 Oct 2016 14:23:22
I'd love to see him in. It's just not looking likely, the lad in my opinion deserves first team football, it'd be best for him to move on. See, I think for us he could really prove who he is, but what do I know. he deserves better then been in the u23 squad.

12 Oct 2016 14:54:35
5 in 2 games for Ings. He looks ready to get back in the first team now.

12 Oct 2016 16:23:23
agree with fc16 about ings, he lost key momentum with that injury, he is far to good for the u23's but is stuck at the back of the line in regards to the 1st team, where he is come January could be key as regards to his future at lfc.

12 Oct 2016 16:46:01
Pretty sure he is going in either Jan or summer. No playing time.

12 Oct 2016 16:54:58
I think I'd rather him on the bench than Origi right now, he may not have the pace or power of Origi but I get the feeling his all round game would be better.

12 Oct 2016 17:39:48
Ings is just as good as the other two strikers we have; I really do wish we could get him some game time.

12 Oct 2016 18:06:18
Guys, he's playing for u23's because after such a long time out he needs game time to get match sharpness. I'm confident if he keeps banging the goals in he'll get his chance.

12 Oct 2016 20:06:34
Hope your right there 87red, think it may be me just been a little impatient. fingers crossed anyway.

12 Oct 2016 22:59:41
leave? c'mon will yas this is what happens when you get competition for places. why would we want to sell him? he's at Liverpool! he may be 3rd choice at the moment but its Liverpool! someone has to be 3rd choice and there is no one better suited. his ambition is to play for Liverpool his dad was a red he's working way up and i'm greatful he's prepared to show faith in waiting for the chance to play. For that I will show faith in him with my support! I'm glad he's a better supporter than some of you.

12 Oct 2016 23:54:01
Ings is a fighter at probably the top club of his career.
He's doing everything right and it shows our strength in depth.
He's really only one Sturridge injury away from the bench and that could happen anytime.

13 Oct 2016 00:06:57
scouse john L8 it's nothing to do with who's the better supporter is it lol. yes I do agree he's been patient. how long will that last? I really like him nothing would make me happier to see him on more, but if he's not getting game time he's going to end up looking at other options, who wouldn't? I don't want to see the lad leave, he's got so much talent, but I can see it happening, end of the day this kid is a professional and he's keeping his mouth shut and been patient, should he not be ggetting game time in the future he's off. and let's be honest it'd be the best thing for him. I agree it's a great choice to have him as a 3rd option, but when he's scoring like he is for the u23's he must be thinking, ok why aren't I getting game time? like any normal human being would be. like it or not, he doesn't get game time he'll be looking for a way out. Who could blame him. I never said I wanted him to leave, but if the current situation carries on, it'd be best for him to do so.

13 Oct 2016 00:42:20
Nah 16 your logic is all wrong. On a more personal note I'd rather be 3rd choice for Liverpool than 1st choice at Burnley.

13 Oct 2016 02:14:20
As would I. But who are we, we'll see if the lad would rather do it, that's what it comes down to. He's not going to be happy been 3rd choice, getting no first team football forever, what footballer would be.

13 Oct 2016 03:13:45
If any attacker can displace firmino, it is Ings. He is terrier like when chasing down opposing defenders.

12 Oct 2016 09:11:19
I was wondering if the eds could provide some insight into the actual role of the captain in modern day football. So much is made of it, but exactly how necessary are they? Of course they can be an example to younger kids/ players and a leader on the pitch, but surely any senior can be, and often is that. Is there more behind the scenes aspects to it, or is the role more these days a focal point for the media?

Believable4 Unbelievable0

12 Oct 2016 12:12:43
Mainly the renting of hotel rooms, buying of prostitutes, supplying champagne and laughing gas, and setting up the camera.

12 Oct 2016 13:38:22
Roland he was asking the role of a captain not donald trumps campaign manager.

12 Oct 2016 14:27:37
Lol waqas.

12 Oct 2016 08:53:06
Now that internationals are done with, I just thought that I would throw a question out there. Take these two scenarios.

1) A home loss to Man United or,
2) A home loss to Everton.

Gun to your head fellaz, which of the two scenarios would be less painful to bear?

Good Luck!

Believable1 Unbelievable11

12 Oct 2016 10:04:44
to be fair i think we'll beat both of them mate but should we lose one, i'd rather lose to everton, i know too many utd fans, if we lose that game it's game over for me lol I've rattled on a bit too much about it to them and now it's getting close, i'm getting more nervous about it.

12 Oct 2016 10:16:00
Oh that's nasty. Emmm I'd have to go for a home loss to the bitters mate.

12 Oct 2016 10:20:28
None. Just pull the trigger and get it over with.

12 Oct 2016 11:02:45
Gotta agree with twinkletoes, i'd sacrifice myself before my team. Allthough if i'm doing that I demand a f'ing clean sheet in one of those games lol.

12 Oct 2016 11:15:52
id imagine itll be a loss to united for the local fans and everton for the rest?

ive only ever met 1 everton fan where i'm from, bt countless united fans.

12 Oct 2016 12:01:44
Would rather lose to United.
They are a better team than Everton at the end of the day.

12 Oct 2016 12:10:05
Everton because you can always say the players where just so bored of smashing use all the times they let use have his one, and aslong as thy don't beat us by a score similar to what we won them by, you can always say well come back when use smash us 4/ 5-0.

Whereas united just have to be beat, there's no way around it. Win, nothing lse matters.

12 Oct 2016 12:42:15
Came here to say exactly what mikey said.

12 Oct 2016 13:12:00
From Liverpool with loads of Everton mates but I'll take the loss to Everton over United. At the end of the season we'll be competing against the Mancs for top 4 not Everton. That 6 point swing v them could be the difference between Champ league footy and Europa.

12 Oct 2016 13:18:30
Everton for me too many glory Manics around me.

12 Oct 2016 14:20:22
Everton for me. I cannot stomach another Utd loss at Anfield especially, when it feels like we either let them win without a fight or we give a good display and they do a smash and grab in recent home games. Hopefully with the way we swept them aside in the EL last season without breaking a sweat and with Klopp owning Mou in head to head battles, Klopp has changed that mentality.

12 Oct 2016 16:29:22
I personally don't care how we play as long as we win, I would love us to carry out a smash and grab just so they know what it feels like, if we play like we did in the EL we will have a great chance of winning the game.

12 Oct 2016 19:44:40
Everton, no threat to top 4.

13 Oct 2016 00:01:02
Everton are on the up.

New investment.

Top Manager.

Ross Barkley. What a prospect.

They ll give a tough time to a lot of top clubs this year.

13 Oct 2016 03:15:44
I take home loss to Everton as we been beating them enuf times. Losing them once awhile keep the competition interesting.
