Whether we have an awful December or food December results wise I think we will see some new faces arriving in the window.

If fit I can see Coates leaving, and there's a slight possibility Skrtle could still leave. If both did leave we could see roughly 15-20 million arrive for Skrtle. Would have seemed unlikely 10 months ago but with his current form, and teams like Napoli and Russian league clubs still interested, we could still command a good offer to part with him.

If Coates left I'd roughly expect 6-8 million. Combined this is a sizeable sum. Plus we are aware that if the right player is available we have the funds to bid (I.e Costa, Mkhitaryan Willan).

There's no reason we won't see two "high calibre" players arrive in this window. If so there's a host of them out there and I'm sure the club already has been speaking with clubs, agents etc for sometime. I hadn't seen either of Mkhitaryan or Costa play before the club had shown an interest, but since I've been impressed with both.

Yarmalenko looks a good prospect and if available for a reasonable fee could be a good coup. Same with Konoplyanka although I haven't really seen that much of him.

Shaqiri would be a good signing in my opinion. Has bags of potential and we sadly lack width at present.

Banega also if available for a reasonable fee would be a wise buy. Wanted us to sign this player a few years back would be a class addition to the squad for a low fee (6-8 million).

Roberto of Barca don't know anything about in all honesty.

Hate to say it guys but Shaqiri is beyond us. He is a top player playing at one of the top 4 teams in europe which currently include Real, Barca, Dortmund and Munich.
If he was out of favour maybe, and possibly if we get champs league next season, but currently be is out of reach. Granit Xhaka would be the alternative, a player from a smaller club who we could offer an 'upgrade' to.

Or Tonny Vilhenna. Someone more established such as Witsel could possibly still be attainable though.

Why hasn't Sturridge got a song? Try this

Oh Danny Boy!
We love the goals you're scoring!
From end to end you batter every side.
He shoots again, no team can stop him scoring.
Oh Danny boy, oh super Danny boy!

Cheers lads.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree and I think we need a song that we can do his dance too

Agree0 Disagree0

You must have been watching the documentary of Oh Danny Boy the song last night on RTE or BBC. But there should be a song for Sturridge by now. Those anyone know why there is not one. I will give it a go sorry in advance. Oh danny boy the kop the kop is calling from goal to goal you'll have us cheering. Tis u Tis u that keeps on scoring Oh danny boy Oh danny boy loves to score . I'am pretty sure I will not be making living out of been a song writer.

Agree0 Disagree0

"Let's all get some courage
And do the Daniel Sturridge
Na na na na
Na na na na"

This is the most catchy one I have come accross. It would be great to see the whole of Anfield doing the Sturridge dance when he scores!

"Carrolls gone and Dannys here,
At last a striker you can fear,
Put you feet up, grab a beer, and cheer!

So come on Dannyyyyyy, Danny Sturridge (dun dun dun)
Dannyyyyyy, Danny Sturridge! (dun dun dun)"

Robbie Williams, Let me Entertain you. It's okay, I'll get my coat.

He could've took Nando's song but for some reason Aspas is number 9 and not Danny.

I like that one Adam!

Ed002. What's going to happen with Assiadi? Can you see him being a Liverpool player next season?

I also asked about the future if Bakkali? He's got less than 12 months in his contract and just wandering if Liverpool would be looking for his signature? I know you're busy and understand you can't answer every question {Ed002's Note - I answered about Bakkali - he is under 18 and cannot sign a pro contract yet. I cannot answer what will happen with transfer next season.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Assiadi has a lot of improving to be doing before he is even considered by Liverpool he needs to stand out for them first

Agree0 Disagree0

I disagree dezzy. I believe he could do a job at LW for us currently.

We would have to loan out all three of Sterling, Ibe and Suso to actually need Assaidi next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Do a job for us? Would that job be losing possession and/or crossing aimlessly into the box? He has a turn of pace and can beat a man but his passing is woefully short of the crisp standard our system demands and his game intelligence is just low - head down, get to byline, don't even look up, cross the ball - he's like Babel but half as skilful, can't seem him ever being anything other than on the periphery.

Gerrard responds to Fergie:"Listen, he's entitled to his opinion. I'm a fan of his, he is one of the best managers in the world. I won't lose any sleep over it."Throughout my career I have had praise from all types of people, including him, and I am notvain enough to take it all. I have had some unbelievable praise from him and he tried to buy me, certainly on one occasion. Maybe even twice."For me, the most important thing is what Brendan Rodgers and Roy Hodgson are thinking. I think they are really pleased with me and that is all I will worry about. 107 caps isn't bad for someone who isn't "a top, top player", is it?"

What a hit son. what a hit.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Haha, pure quality!

Game set and match Sir Stevie.

When and where was this interview? Classic

For someone who claims not to care about lfc, fergie sure likes to talk about us. I bet he`s still mad at how we always taunted him when he got beat everytime in his early days. He did achieve a lot of success BUT he still sees us as an itch that always needs to be scratched. Lovin it.

Agree0 Disagree0

So I can take from this u never read his autobiography then Harry, I suggest u read it and not what the media put in there papers to sell them.
However Henderson is a funny runner!

Has there been an Improvement under Brendan Rodgers?

So far this calendar year we have lost only 5 of our 29 Premier League games.
Once away to the current Champions, once away at the Emirates, twice to Southampton (home and away) who currently stand 3rd in the league, and once at home to West Brom.

As you can see from the stats below, there has been a drastic improvement on the previous season. We have already won more games this year than the previous year having played 10 games less.

- 2012: 39 Games Played / 12 Wins / 10 Draws / 17 Losses
- 2013: 29 Games Played / 16 Wins / 8 Draws / 5 Losses

After 11 games last season we were sat all the way down in 13th position, whereas this season we are currently flying high up in 2nd position. The stats below show just how big an improvement has taken place at the start of the current campaign. This is the best start to a season Liverpool have had since the 2008/2009 season when we finished 2nd in the league.

- 2012/2013: 11 Games Played / 2 Wins / 6 Draws / 3 Losses / 12 Points
- 2013/2014: 11 Games Played / 7 Wins / 2 Draws / 2 Losses / 23 Points

Rodgers has also shown he is not afraid to make changes and has replaced the "over payed" average players with exciting young prospects and below are two great examples of how successful this has been.

-> Carroll: 58 Appearances / 11 Goals
J.Cole: 42 Appearances / 5 Goals / 2 Assists

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Here is the rest of my post.

- Sturridge: 28 Appearances / 21 Goals
- Coutinho: 20 Appearances / 3 Goals / 8 Assists

Our fine form is the result of the way Rodgers and FSG are transforming this club into a challenging club once again. There has been a lot of hard work and planning put into this transformation and they are currently assembling a group of world class players capable of achieving success.

In Suarez and Sturridge we have 2 world class strikers who have got excellent goal scoring records and in Coutinho we have a young creative midfielder possessing all the signs of becoming a world class playmaker. In Gerrard and Lucas we have a partnership that has only got stronger over the years of playing together and our defence is one of the strongest in the league in terms of strength in depth and quality.

Therefore, we have a team capable of achieving success and the answer to my question is yes! Of course there has been an improvement under Rodgers and I am sure there is much more to come and with a few more gradual additions we will be well on our way to competing for major trophies once again.

Thanks for reading.

Red Rum

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm sure there are some people still out there questioning fsg's commitment and Rodgers capabilities. waiting for a chance to start their fsg out Rodgers out slogan

Agree0 Disagree0

Just to bring you down to earth. Rodgers has won us nothing yet, finished 7th in the league and spent a fair bit of money. So let's not get ahead of ourselves. You win nothing in November.

Agree0 Disagree0

Irish Rover the question was merely has there been an improvement under rodgers and the answer is yes. I do see your point but, KK was 2 points off 4th with us in december before a poor second half of the season resulted in his sacking.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Nov 2013 22:01:06
I'd take a top four finish over any trophy (except if we win the league).

Agree0 Disagree0

Those stats are very impressive and Sturridge was a fantastic buy 7m? I think that's what you paid.
I'm torn on my opinion of him, as an outsider he does seem to talk some total rubbish at times and does some strange things but his record is good and the stats are impressive

Agree0 Disagree0

Irish rover,

this is a classic example of negativity rather than a "dose of reality" i'm sorry to say.

we are all well aware that ordgers hasn't won anything yet, is that what he has to do to win people over? top 4 wouldn't be enough would it not for now?

finally we have a reason for optimism after a fantastic start to the season which no-one would have predicted. try not to crush that optimism going forward?

great piece of journalism by adrian durham in the mail, explaining why he thinks Liverpool fans deserve a bit of success.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I would rather not read that paper thanks mate. But yeah a bit of success in the league would be nice, nothing's deserved in football though until the last day of the season.

what a great chance we have to finish in our highest position for years, no european games, no cup involvement until january. our best squad in a long time, a starting 11 to match any other in the premier, with lady luck on our side this supurb group of players who are showing excellent promise. and with an improving manager training different styles and formations the team are shaping up just great and with no shortage of panache shown for many minutes in a lot of the games already. some of our football has been a joy to watch luis saurez in particular is so good he just makes me laugh. the owners seem to be an ideal fit for such a glorious club. keeping perspective is paramount, one game at a time. I have been a supporter of Liverpool f.c since I was a young boy dreaming of pulling on the red shirt like many others and in those 50 years since, we have had many great sides that have never finished below 8th! NEVER. ( what an achievement ) p.s the youth system is producing some players with excellent potential. if as a club we can just find a way to get daniel sturridge to smile other than when he scores then we may well just crack it and if we do there is going to be 1 helluva party!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Couldnt agree more!

Agree0 Disagree0

Awh he is okay just hungry to score is all would you be happy with a striker who doesn't want to score haha we'll be fine if we achieve top 4 by then this season is a success 8th 7th to minimum of 4th is amazing so let's be realistic it'll be tough but possible
