Madrid don't want to sell.

11 May 2017 20:52:11
Ideally maybe we should look to 1 either hire Southamptons or Celtics scouting department or 2 look to see who southampton are buying to replace VVD and anyone else they are rumoured to sell and buy them, instead of wasting £50 million on a player bought by Celtic for 3/ 4 million less than 3 yrs ago.

Believable6 Unbelievable4

11 May 2017 21:25:08
To be fair though if Liverpool started buying players for 3/ 4 million pounds all the fans would be up in arms. There's people all over these pages saying exactly what you're saying and than there's the other half moaning that the players we're targeting now aren't good enough and just potential. The club can't do right for doing wrong when it comes to transfers sadly, no matter what they do half the fans will be moaning and bringing down anyone we sign.

11 May 2017 22:14:28
Posted the same thing a few weeks ago in jest. The thing we don't do though is after buying players of that ilk develop and allow them the opportunity to progress. Worse than that we waste £20 million on players doing this not just 3/ 4!

11 May 2017 22:43:03
A friend of mine who is a Leeds fan said that Southampton are looking at there centre back jannson I think his name is.

{Ed007's Note - The guy that was in charge of Celtic's scouting, John Park who 'found' VVD, Wanyama etc is currently unemployed........

11 May 2017 23:33:36
The transfer market is not a level playing field. It is rigged.
If a premier league team comes in for a player, double the price and add 10 million.
If a top 6 premier league club comes in, add 20 million.

We can't buy the same player as Leicester or Southampton for the same price. We're underperforming as a club so other clubs know we're cash rich and desperate for success.

We should use the transfer market as an adjunct rather than being dependant on it.
We should be developing young players and giving them an opportunity. We should be maximising our current players, at present they are underperforming.
Do the right things well initially and then use the transfer market to supplement development.

{Ed002's Note - It is not "rigged" - absolute nonsense. Some clubs get charge more than others, some clubs are extremely naive in the transfer market - but it is not rigged.}

11 May 2017 23:58:22
Clubs with money get charged more cos they know they can afford it on paper. That is business, not rigging.

12 May 2017 02:24:06
How is the transfer market rigged Ron? Absolutely nonsensical comment that is.
If the seller knows the buyer is desperate and has money to throw around, he will use it to his advantage. That's exactly what clubs like Lyon do to get the best price for their players from clubs like LFC.
Its LFC's fault that they are showcasing how desperate they are for success by throwing money around on average players. If the scouting department and the transfer committee actually did their jobs properly and identified quality players before they get marketed to the whole world, we would not be in this predicament. LFC have been far from smart, and being a fan will obviously garner such strong feelings but its no one's fault but the club for being incompetent in the market. And nothing seems to have changed under Klopp's regime so far. Same mistakes being repeated.

12 May 2017 06:25:50
1 incorrect word and you get jumped on. Good post Ron except the 'rigged' comment, I understand what you meant.

12 May 2017 06:47:10
It's a fair point we would struggle to get the same price for sure Ron.

12 May 2017 08:43:46
How many did he buy flop tho?

You only ever hear about th3 good ones.

We sold sterling for 50 mil
Potentiallt cou for 50 mil
Suarez for 60 mil
Torres for 50 mil

We had agger, reina, auerlio, alonso, sissoko, sturridge, matip all brought in for cheap.

But you all know about the not so good ones.

12 May 2017 16:05:52
Indian Buzzer, great post and completely true, people blame everyone but the culpable ones, the club pick these players and pay these inflated prices.

11 May 2017 18:28:41
I have a YNWA under my kit for when I score the winning goal with an overhead kick 5 minutes into extra time tonight.

11 May 2017 19:54:23
Iago mate, don't you even know what shirt you wear? You're No.10 you muppet.

11 May 2017 19:59:32
I was 9 at Liverpool.

11 May 2017 20:04:24
Apologies in order MK :-)

11 May 2017 22:21:09
But Iago, you don't play for Liverpool anymore lad! You are Celta's No.10 and you need to move on. Liverpool doesn't have a No.9 anymore.

11 May 2017 22:55:27
Is that where the shirt is?

11 May 2017 23:10:12
Yes they are keeping the 9 open for my 60 million transfer return in the summer.

11 May 2017 23:37:46
I hear Brendan Rodgers is looking to sign you again.
He needs someone to cut his grass while he's away conquering Europe next year .
2 weeks should do it.

11 May 2017 23:44:38
Will you be taking the corners?

11 May 2017 23:59:03
Is that Harry?

11 May 2017 17:34:31
New topic for the eds and all.

Were realistically do you see Liverpool developing and competing over the next few years in relation to the rest of the top 6?

Several teams look to be in a strong position, spurs have developed well as a team under th guidance of pochettino Chelsea have returned to a strong unit under conte, city will spend funds to refresh the older legs within there squad and Manchester Utd will no doubt break the bank to secure some global stars. The only team with big question marks for me is arsenal who seem to have some big decisions to make.

I'm really relishing how competitive the EPL is becoming in terms of top 6.

But were/ how do people see Liverpool faring? .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i think under klopp you will make progress triangle but will not be a league championship contender in the near future, you will be a force and be in the mix though and will always be feared, but i just dont see liverpool spending the huge amount of money required to go that extra mile, maybe if FSG are bought out by a multi billionaire then that will change..welcome to mediocrity mate.. :)

11 May 2017 18:01:43
I think we will win the league within 3 years personally. We have a young squad and if we can keep the first team together and add quality each year we will certainly be up there.

{Ed025's Note - i like your optimism daredman, kudos mate..

11 May 2017 18:49:00
We'll storm the league next season and win it by March.

11 May 2017 19:10:49
No chance of winning the league under Fsg. Klopp would need to work a minor miracle, unearth a few hidden gems. Not going to happen.

11 May 2017 19:42:45
I think we will win the league under Klopp but we won't have sustained success as before.
We will struggle year on year to keep our top players as grass is greener and sun shines brighter elsewhere.

Like the Suarez situation.

I think that's why the academy and u23s will be more and more relevant trying to bring through a clutch of players who have an affinity with the club and will crave success here above all else.

Like the Stevie G situation.

That's why we should concentrate on developing young British and Irish talent and maybe sign the odd marquee foreigner if needed.

11 May 2017 19:57:39
Although it helps a lot, money is not everything. Leicester proved it very clearly last year. And I don't subscribe to the view that FSG have done nothing. I think they're a very ambitious bunch, but after the Comolli debacle they suddenly woke up and realized it wasn't just about throwing money at the team, and maybe they should learn the business too. And since then, they've come close to winning it in 2013/ 2014. A multi-billionaire owner does not guarantee a championship or more. Go and ask Paris St. Germain this question, this year.

I don't like some of his methods, but Klopp is the man to take this team forward and indeed to win many titles. No, I'm not taken in by his "persona". I see clearly that he is galvanized LFC to much higher levels than under the two previous managers. Not everything is about win-loss records. Some people on here have consistently tried to convince us that we are mediocre and we should get comfy with it. Others have gleefully repeated how we as supporters, are used to failure. Sorry, I'm not buying it. In the words of Pat Benatar, "why don't you hit me with your best shot? "

11 May 2017 20:36:36
Ed025 I would not trust us to spend 200 million in a transfer window. It's definitely not to do with spending big. More so we constantly wasting money. I'll never forget when king Kenny took charge and I was over the moon then I read a BBC headline. Liverpool offering 37 Million for Andy Carroll.

{Ed025's Note - every team buys the odd lemon AL, whats more defining is the players you dont buy like the extra £500,000 that would have got deli alli, but i suppose some players just dont fit at a certain club like lovren who looked very good at saints but not at liverpool and schneiderlin who looked good for saints and us but not for utd, sometimes it just down to luck i suppose mate..

11 May 2017 21:06:48
reckon that only three maybe four teams have a chance of winning the prem, not sure that we are ready yet for that leap, just the top four is were we are at now, and we are still struggling with that, but when it comes our way, we will party big time .

{Ed025's Note - i will have a bevvy with you when that happens RF..in the pub on the mars space station.. :)

11 May 2017 21:42:24
ha Ed25, if your buying .

{Ed025's Note - beer will be £1,600 a pint when liverpool win the league next RF but if im still around then i will gladly pay mate.. :)

11 May 2017 21:48:48
Haha ed25 great banter, i think we are not far off tbh and its not about money its about targeting the right people ala mane. We don't need superstars we need a mix of fighters and skilled players and a slice of luck to have them gel well. Klopp has his faults but is far from the worse on the prem and has as good a chance of any top manager in the prem of winning it. I remain hopeful we will lift the title again before i die. Lol.

{Ed025's Note - i think klopp is the key to you winning it IAC if anyone can get you there its him, i just think that its not likely any time soon...well hope more than think mate.. :)

11 May 2017 23:34:10
When Kenny was made manager the club had sold Torres to Chelsea virtually doubling the money they paid Athletico.
Commolli was appointed by F. S. G. at the same time as Kenny. Torres had been the fastest ever player to see ore 50 goals for the club and the only one since fowler to get 20 in a season.
Kenny used the 50 mill Torres money to try and replace them goals.
He bought Andy Carroll for 37 mill and Suarez for 22 mill 59 mill for the pair approx.

Carroll at zhe time was scoring goals for fun at Newcastle and Suarez was playing for Ayax. Suarez was sensational though flawed.

Although winning the League cup and getting to the Fa cup final Dalglish was sacked. Liverpool sold Carroll for 17.5 mill and Suarez for 70 mill.
That's a profit of nearly 30 million on the pair.

Rodgers came in and blew way more on players who the club evebtually took a loss on and walked away with 17mill pay off. After winning nothing.

Klopp has come in a a supposedly miracle worker but had won nothing either.

So please when your talking about Kenny and his record please don't mention him in the same sentence as Rodgers.

Who did Kenny take over from. Roy.
Remember the mess.

12 May 2017 00:10:49
Kenny didn't buy Suarez tho.

12 May 2017 02:27:39
All depends on how this transfer window goes. Buy more average players and we will be stuck in mediocrity and celebrating top4 finishes for the foreseeable future. Sign quality and we could actually make a run for the BPL next season. It could be the impetus to keeping the likes of Coutinho and Firmino at the club for many years to come. Anything less than that, and we will be 'rebuilding' again from the 2018/ 19 season onward, giving the manager more excuses to pull put of his hat.

12 May 2017 16:00:35
Dermot, I like your post but I will add a few more things. Kenny may have won a trophy but we were dire in the league (ended up in 8th with a measly 52 points) and he did not get us CL neither.

BR was nothing but a self-promoting, dishonorable imposter who managed to catch lightning in a bottle and we almost won the PL, a PL he himself bottled due to his inability to take responsibility and his abject arrogance. I will never compare his dire record to that of Kenny's nor Klopp's.

Klopp has only been here for 18 months and unlike BR, he got us in position to win trophies and tho it did not happen, we know we can get there again and win one. We are far better than we were when BR was rightfully shown the door (with a disgraceful 6-1 loss at Stoke, to boot) and hopefully, Klopp can finish the job and get us CL footie this season.

13 May 2017 02:39:58
I agree 100% with you NRed

But have to say that I still feel that Kenny was hard done by and a few things should be put into context that will hopefully explain what I didn't do very well before in the earlier post that you replied to.

Kenny took over a squad with the level of player such as paul Konchessay, Christian Poulson, David Ngog. Aquilani, Voronin and Joe Cole. There's many more as well but you see what I mean.

Hodgson had the team at probably it's lowest ebb that I remember in 50 years from a purely football point of view (96 RIP) we had been put out of cups by Northampton and utd and at the last 16 of Europa league.

Torres was leaving after too many broken promises.

Now I don't claim to be an expert but I reckon if you took all the best managers ever in the world and put them into manage that team it would have take them longer than a season and a bit to sort out.

Yes the league was disappointing but sometimes you have to take a step back to move forward. Look at last season where we finished under Klopp
Who it seems will be given time to grow his squad.

Kenny got us silverware with great trips to Anfield south but in my opinion was not afforded the same time as the tool that followed him . and Klopp as well for that matter

But I feel I have to speak up when I read posts comparing Kenny with Rodgers.

Kenny Dalglish is for me the greatest ever red.

Sorry for the long reply. YNWA.

{Ed001's Note - well said Dermot.}

11 May 2017 15:27:26
Hi ed001

A question about Origi. I know you like the lad a lot, and he does IMO have great physical attributes to succeed, however his instincts as a striker have been poor, especially his movement around the defensive line.

Is clever movement something that can be taught, or do you either have it or you don't? Whenever Sturridge has been subbed on, he's looked lightyears better than Origi. I think he needs to start against West Ham for sure.

Cheers.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - it can be taught, it is the instinct to anticipate, rather than react to chances that seems to be either there or not. Origi has got that, he just seems to be trying to be too clever, rather than just going back to basics with his game.

Physically and technically he has the qualities we need. The mental side comes down to a mixture of experience and coaching. To be fair to the lad, no one is offering any movement right now, so it is not just him, the team look like rabbits caught in the headlights.}

11 May 2017 16:49:15
Eds1 i remember GH saying the only thing that stopped Heskey from being a top striker was that he reacted instead of anticipated.

{Ed025's Note - i thought i was because he was a useless lump who had the mobility of madge from benidorm acered.. :)

11 May 2017 16:56:25
Think I read something once saying that he sees himself as a left sided forward/ winger rather than a striker. I tend to agree with him to be honest. I think he is far better running at defenders rather than with his back to goal waiting for service. I'm not saying that he can't do a job as a striker, but would like to see him get his mojo back in a position he feels most comfortable with for now.

11 May 2017 17:52:48
What stopped Heskey from being a top striker is that he was required to be Michael Owen's butler rather than a footballer in his own right.

"Would Master Michael like a knock down to run onto? Certainly, sir. One will keep attempting to draw out defenders to offer you one. Get in a position score? Oh no, I can't possibly do that. Master Michael needs his knock downs. "

Okay, it's a big exaggeration to say he'd have been a top striker, but he would've been better.

As for Origi, he's just inexperienced. I strongly suspect that with his physique and pace he was so easily to knock defenders out of the way or run past them at youth levels growing up that he was never forced to be clever with his movement and it's only become an area of his game needing work in the past couple of years. He had no problem getting into scoring positions back end of last season before he got injured, though.

11 May 2017 17:53:45
Ed25 I don't agree with GH but he did actually say that. Everton supporter and you watch Benidorm you need help mate 🙈.

{Ed025's Note - hey!..there is nothing wrong with liking benidoirm acered.. :)

11 May 2017 21:09:31
just ask yourself, would Origi get in any of the top six teams, I don't think so, he is a bit green yet, think he will come good, but can we afford to wait a couple more seasons .

{Ed025's Note - i will have a bevvy with you on the mars space station RF.. :)

11 May 2017 21:46:27
Haha Ed25 take care mate and take 3 points of the gunners.

{Ed025's Note - im sure we will try acered..

11 May 2017 22:48:26
Spot on, Ed. The kid is legit and needs to just play his game cos he has all the tools we need to be our Lewandowski. Last season, Origi showed us he could be the real deal and has also showed glimpses of that this season. He just needs to put it all together. I see that many fans all over the web are slaughtering him and want him sold cos he's not been playing well (as if anyone in the team has) . They'd better be careful of what they wish for cos we have a rough diamond on our hands and if we get impatient with him cos he's not Didier Drogba yet, we w will regret it.

11 May 2017 23:50:06
Spot on N Red, at some stage he will put it all together, and we will have a beast of a forward, my only concern is when will this happen, soon I hope .

12 May 2017 16:01:48
It's up to him to make the progress in good time and up to Klopp to work his magic on him, Redforever.

11 May 2017 14:44:48
I'm hoping Sturridge starts on Sunday.

Believable19 Unbelievable0

11 May 2017 14:59:49
Most of the LFC fanbase feels the same way. Origi needs to be dropped after a string of poor performances. West Ham will park the bus and we need moments of brilliance to put the ball in the back of the net. Sturridge is capable of that.

11 May 2017 21:13:38
Klopp won't start with Sturridge our only hope is that he comes on a bit earlier than normal, just heard that West Ham have just lost Noble, hernia op, also another midfielder is out too, Man City just got a boost, both Huth and Morgan are out .

11 May 2017 22:51:41
Studge may not fit enough to start as in, he may not have even 60 mins in him at top gear. I would play Firmino up top and have Couts and Lallana either side of him witgh Studge to come in at the 60th minute or later if we are winning to keep them honest. As for Origi, your slating of him is a bit harsh, Buzzer. The kid is left to do an impossible job on his own with no movement nor service around him and by the way, he's not the only one having a rough time. The whole team is so pipe down with the slating cos it is unfair if you don't doing to everyone else.

12 May 2017 02:31:12
Where did I slate Origi N Red? Just saying he needs to be taken out of the firing line considering all the fans are on his back. Its a bit like the Karius situation.
And we have 2 major finals coming up so best to throw on your most experienced players for these games. If Origi has a bad game again, then he will get absolutely slaughtered. The last thing we need is a promising young striker being hounded by both fans and the press just before what will be an extremely vital 2017/ 18 season for both palyer and club.

11 May 2017 14:29:27
May I be the first to say that the 2017/ 18 Premiership title, and an historic quadruple including League, FA and European cup, is entirely in our own hands!

😀😉😂.

11 May 2017 14:55:25

11 May 2017 15:57:02

11 May 2017 18:50:03
It's a formaioty.

11 May 2017 23:01:19
Let's take them and run now whilst stil we can, here's to hoping nobody of importance notices these additional four cups in our trophy room 😎.

11 May 2017 13:02:00
Hey Eds,
Do you think Ben Gibson may be an option as a replacement for sakho no boro have been relegated?

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - Klavan replaced Sakho.}

11 May 2017 13:18:47
The smarter question is 'do you think Liverpool will replace any of our 4 CBs this summer and, if so, which players may come in'.

P. s. I know the answer (it's no), I was just trying to do a public service.

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any plans to sell any of the four first team centre backs at this time.}

11 May 2017 13:33:17
There is a chance that the CB situation will change over the coming weeks. And I am hoping Klopp sees sense and signs a decent partner for Matip. Gomez is not quite ready yet and Lovren is too unreliable. Klavan needs to be sold, never should have signed in the first place. Or simply give Sakho another go. Klopp's stubborn nature needs to be brought back down to earth a bit. Some of his decisions are just peculiar and detrimental to the team's cause.

11 May 2017 14:53:08
What a clown MR Pearce is as he truly beleives were in for VVD. don't no why I even bother reading the Echo. Infact lots think were after him, yet we are not.

11 May 2017 15:25:27
Pearce thinks VVD and Keita may actually happen. VVD no chance imo, too expensive and over rated. Keita on the other hand will be a brilliant addition.

11 May 2017 20:48:22
I can see VVD going to Chelsea, and Keita staying put for one more season . neither will be coming to Liverpool .

11 May 2017 22:53:19
VVD ain't going to happen as he's not even worth have of what they are touting for cos he's overrated, lazy and lacks concentration. We already have some of those in our team already so don't need someone else.

11 May 2017 12:40:09
Thoughts are with the families on the anniversary of the Bradford stadium fire YNWA.

Believable19 Unbelievable0

11 May 2017 10:44:43
Eds do you think we gave up too quickly on Iago Aspas? There is no question he is a talented player and is showing it in La Liga this season and for Spain. He didn't get much chances to be fair to him because Suarez and Sturridge were so good. I think with patience he could of went onto to be a great player for us. Although that's not what I said to the telly watching his corner haha.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - He was better than Rodgers realised.}

11 May 2017 11:01:33
He was severely lacking in physicality. He is a fighter in la liga, but that attribute was never going to work for him in the BPL where the intensity and pace is much more brutal. Not to mention he was signed the very season the SAS ran riot. If he had the signed the following season, he would have gotten more opportunities after Suarez left.

11 May 2017 11:17:07
Some players certainly suit certain leagues better than others as well, it might just be that the Spanish league is an excellent fit for Aspas' skill set. Even if he was to come back tomorrow I'm not sure he'd have the goal-scoring record he enjoys for Celta.

{Ed001's Note - he never settled well in England either. He had never wanted to play for anyone but Celta.}

11 May 2017 11:35:53
If he scores a hat trick tonight, I may begin to think about forgiving him for THAT corner.
I felt sorry for the lad though at Liverpool as he just couldn't seem to adapt to the English game. He certainly has the ability but the physicality just wasn't there at all.

11 May 2017 11:50:58
Too lightweight
Let's hope h can do the business today.

11 May 2017 12:24:43
If he scores a hat trick tonigh he will instantly become an lfc legend regardless of his playin time at the club.

11 May 2017 13:02:08
I didn't know that but it's also a great point Ed - some players, when playing for their boyhood clubs, find something extra they just can't deliver for another side - Aspas certainly wouldn't be the only player to have this trait.

{Ed001's Note - he is a very good player though, he was just very unlucky really or he would have become a cult hero at the club, I think. He had the workrate and technique to be loved.}

11 May 2017 18:04:36
"too lightweight", lol.

11 May 2017 20:51:51
too lightweight, and doubt very much he will score even one goal V United, never mind three .

11 May 2017 22:55:54
Aspas is a beast of a player with great work ethic, attitude and is very talented (25 goals in all comps this season) . He is now in the Spain set up with Morata and Costa and should be on the bus to Russia next year. Him not making it at LFC changes nothing on that front.

11 May 2017 09:48:03
It seems so long ago that an annual trip to Anfield South was the norm.
Does anybody think we will ever get back to the top of that perch again?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

11 May 2017 10:18:04
We need to start getting regular CL due to the money etc. if not we will get left further behind the competition, the leagues harder now than its ever been.

Lets start with CL this season and build on that! need a leader/ winner in the team for sure and 1 or 2 ready made players in the team this summer also.

Times will tell!

11 May 2017 11:17:25
No team will dominate like us and utd did.

With the tv revenue and the influx of foreign players chasing that money, winning the prem is an aspiration that is beyond most clubs, but now the main target is top 4 finish to stand a chance of winning goal big and raising the status of your brand

Times have changed, our game is now big business where clubs are nowbrands with the arse marketed out of them.

I think we have lost something that was special about English football but I'm 50 years of age and can compare the past to now.

11 May 2017 20:58:02
really need Champions League to kick on, the revenue and best players that it brings are vital, if, if we miss out, we are back in the top six bracket, and next season, the top four clubs will have brought in the better players,
so we better get all three points on sunday .

11 May 2017 09:23:19
It's a pity NAtasha Harding can't start on the left wing.

11 May 2017 08:43:53
So much gloom!
I thought we were the team in the top four with 2 games left?
Why are we so down? Arsenal have 3 games to negotiate yet and we have it all in our own hands, maybe City won't win anymore games how do we know?
Cheer up fellas and get behind them for this weekend, don't forget us winning heaps pressure on the other teams too, we won't be the only ones feeling it

Unfortunately I think were going to get pipped by arsenal. Our bad start to the year is going to come back and bite us in the buttocks.

11 May 2017 09:11:06
I bet you are a joy at parties Walter?

11 May 2017 09:22:34
Christmas party this year is at Walters, looking forward to it.

🙄🙄🙄.

11 May 2017 09:23:34
So pleased we're playing away at West Ham. Big pitch, plenty of space - no nervy Anfield. The boys have to be up for it, our biggest game since the Europa league final. Play without fear and we'll win.

11 May 2017 09:26:30
Problem is recent history of them bottling at the crunch moment, but i think they will do what needs to be done. i hope. I think a lot of posters are also thinking it really did not have to be this way. Hay hum no point stressing over it, just a game after all.

11 May 2017 09:28:05
His name is negative red Walter. If anything you should be more surprised if he said we'll win the next 2 easily.

11 May 2017 10:13:42
The negativity is because our players don't look arsed when they take the field, which makes it hard to believe we will do what we need to.

11 May 2017 13:47:24
Surely our Manager and his staff will fire the players up in the dressing room before the game.
We need to see that fire, passion and determination on the pitch.
The skill is there. now let's see the pride and passion!
If we do. I'm confident we can get 3pts at West Ham.

11 May 2017 14:14:17
The fact that Arsenal play a day before us will dictate how much pressure we are under on Sunday. They have certainly been dealt the upper hand this weekend, let's hope they slip up 🙏🏻 I know it's in our hands etc etc but a draw or defeat at Stoke would take the pressure off!

11 May 2017 23:01:27
I have no hope that Stoke will provide any stiff opposition to Arsenal, just like Saints just lay down for them last night. It is still in our hands and the boys know what needs to be done. As an athlete, you can ask for no better thing that controlling your own fate.

Arsenal can we all their games by a thousand goals and it won't mean squat provided we get 6 points from the last 2 games. This is now a two game season for us where 6 points is imperative. That should be the mindset going into the WH game, regardless of City's and Arsenal's results the previous day.

As someone once said, "If you want something done right, do it yourself". We are in pole position to do that. Arsenal is not as they can not affect our results if we do the job. We on the other hand, can render their results pointless if we get it done. Time to go out there and finish the job, lads.

Hello eds, as we are interested in a left winger. Do Liverpool have any interest in ...............

{Ed002's Note - You need to avoid asking questions about random players - the page would just get cluttered up immediately.}

Just want to check my maths as not my best subject. If we win this weekend with arsenal and united losing then we are guaranteed top 4? If so I wish pulis was still managing stoke!

11 May 2017 07:53:15
Yes correct however Arsenal won't loose at Stoke. Were up against it mate.

11 May 2017 08:59:55
Just win our Last 2 games, and we are there. Simple.

11 May 2017 11:29:11
Like Arsenal have never bottled it against Stoke before?

11 May 2017 12:08:12
A Tony Pulis Stoke mainly Ron. I think they'll win that game to be honest.

11 May 2017 12:17:07
how about we just focus on what we can do instead of needlessly debating what arsenal or utd will do?

our fate is in our own hands.

11 May 2017 15:17:52
If we cannot beat West Ham at Anfield, what makes anyone think we can beat them away?

11 May 2017 15:57:39
Well if we can't, then maybe we don't deserve top 4.

11 May 2017 18:43:55
If I was wenger I'd be optimistic, I'm not slating us with that comment, I have faith in the team it's just I'm not sure how much faith the lads have in themselves regarding attacking mentality the worry of conceding seems very high at the moment west ham aren't great but recent form suggests there handy and beating spurs is no easy feat, I'm afraid we are up against it.

11 May 2017 23:12:54
Brilliant, 87red and More no. People need to grow a backbone and stop being afraid of their own shadows. I believe that Stoke will not offer that much resistance to the Gunners but we are the ones in the driver's seat, not them. They can win all their games and still not get CL provided we win ours. That should be a source of motivation to us to get over the line.

When this team was up against it vs Stoke, Watford and WBA on the road, who on here thought we would come out with 9 point and conceding only one goal? I definitely did not thinks we would even tho, I'm an eternal optimist. The fact that we could not beat WH at home means nothing cos a game is 90 mins and circumstances are different now. If that was the case, football would not be exciting as the reason it is is cos it is not logical and LC would never have won the PL. Let's stop being afraid of our own shadows and cheer our team and manager over the line and make CL footie happen.

13 May 2017 11:00:12
Leek, do you not think your point about the game at anfield holds any relevance to the game at West ham other than its the same 2 sides, we were beat at home by Swansea yet beat them away, no 2 games are exactly the same.

11 May 2017 00:26:48
Just a quick question as i have got tickets to watch LFC in Sydney.
Do you think there will be many of the 1st team travelling or will they be on holidays by then?
I will enjoy watching Gerrard and Agger.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

11 May 2017 05:58:17
Ummm. Dude you should google LFC.

11 May 2017 08:51:19
Europeanisaid is correct in what he is saying about Sidney.

At the end of this season KLOPP'S LFC will take his best available 1st team squad for a match against Sidney.

Also making up the squad will be Stevie, Carra, Macca and Ägger.

I think I heard Michael Owen is included but he will probably fist Ustinov again and play for Sidney for more money and a free Koala

Should be a top day,

YNWA.

When I went up to brissie to see them it was mostly 1st team squad mixed with a bit of young prospects (Gomez and Ibe) . I'd imagine it will be similar barring injured/ returning from injury players. Regardless, it was a great experience, I might never get to see them live in England, but at least I've been able to see them albeit in a friendly.
