Use our rumours form to send us liverpool transfer rumours.

11 Mar 2016 21:54:39
I honestly can't believe fans that still think Sakho is a weak defender. He is our best defender, ungainly yes, but a class act. He very rarely misplaces passes, just need to keep him fit.

Lovren looking solid too, pleased for him seems to have turned a corner. Honestly didn't think he had it in him.

Not sure Moreno is the answer. I personally like the guy, he's lightning quick, but gets caught out of position a lot.

Clyne blows hot and cold, will do better next season.

Just a keeper, left back and a winger needed.

11 Mar 2016 22:51:02
Moreno needs to be at a team like Real Madrid where you can focus 85% on Attacking and 15% on defending. Because he is a massive liability for us defensively, however much of an attacking outlet he is.

11 Mar 2016 23:25:37
Yes he's made a couple of mistakes but no more than the rest of the defence and keeper.

11 Mar 2016 23:39:46
A humble request to Real Madrid, please come and get Moreno :D.

11 Mar 2016 23:39:46
Met sakho today. As happy as ever lol.

12 Mar 2016 00:14:47
Sakho's only problems are his heading, and his tendency to try his luck too much and play himself or the team into trouble. He's otherwise pretty great.

12 Mar 2016 01:57:45
Problem I have with Moreno is even when attacking his end product needs to improve. Crosses are a bit random whether they reach a defender or a Liverpool player and he's way too one-footed, lacking the ability to cut inside effectively.

One can perhaps forgive The defensive lapses if he's creating a significant no. of goals for us, but that isn't true yet, he's just creating dangerous situations that aren't quite finished off.

He has talent and potential but needs to improve.

12 Mar 2016 06:33:26
Sell moreno. Replace with Smith. Period.

12 Mar 2016 07:22:53
I really have to disagree with the Sakho bit. I can see he has improved and his passing is looking better but as another post suggests his heading is not great and for centre half it's probably the 1 position where it needs to be good, he also has a tendency to throw himself at things in dangerous areas. He lacks the ability to remain composed and I appreciate this is because of his desire to win the ball but he just needs to stand up. His communication is also suspect considering he's clashed heads with Can on 3 occasions recently when he is comming on to the ball.
I don't think he is terrible and I'm not saying I want him out but I don't think he should be first choice.

{Ed001's Note - is that terrible communication or a case of two players committing? How do you know Can did not hear but decided to risk the clash of heads anyway? Just like when a centre back heads it clear just as it is about to fall into the keeper's grasp, it is not always because the keeper has poor communication, sometimes it is a player has made up their mind to make sure they deal with it.}

12 Mar 2016 07:32:32
Once maybe but 3 times. Plus I was at the Augsburg game and you could see that Sakho did not give a big coommanding shout when stepping on to the ball that you would expect from a centre back.

12 Mar 2016 06:42:43
Sakho has its flaws. He is poor in the air and once you nutmeg him, He doesn't track back to cover up. He is completely one footed.
His passing from the back is his best and biggest quality. He infact is a better passer than any of our midfield players except Lucas.

12 Mar 2016 11:07:41
Hers me thinking great result all should be happy still slagging players off.

12 Mar 2016 12:26:42
What was interesting on Thursday was how much responsibility he had with possession, it very much seems that the plan was for all attacks to start with him.

I have to admit I still can't work him out, he's an integral part of an improving defence but his style scares me. There were a few dodgy moments on Thursday, the air ball, the trip on Mata and when he misjudged a ball and it bounced over him. He doesn't inspire confidence in the way that someone like Hyppia did.

12 Mar 2016 13:01:49
I do feel sorry for young Moreno at times . He gets some stick from fans.
Yes, he makes some defensive mistakes. but his speed in getting back has saved us on numerous occasions this season.
His marauding forward is great to watch. and I for one would be sad to see him leave.

{Ed001's Note - he only saves himself from his woeful positioning, his marauding forward is not good to watch when it is costing us repeatedly due to his stupidity. He needs to learn when to go forward and what to do with the ball when he does get forward. Oh and to not just stand right on the opposition full back.}

12 Mar 2016 13:07:41
Sakho is a monumental beast.

"he's crap in the air"

What planet are you from? Do you not see the countless clearing headers he's made from long balls? Not only that, the headers are usually strong ones and go quite a distance.

Additionally, he's not a covering defender. He's an aggressive defender who likes to put pressure on the attacker. This naturally comes with the occasional mistake or the occasional embarrassing nutmeg.

Sakho is our best defender bar none and in my honest opinion, he'll become one of the best in the league.

12 Mar 2016 14:14:04
Moreno should not be playing for LFC. I rarely slate players but for me he is exactly what we do not need. Flannagan on left is so much more sound.

12 Mar 2016 14:21:24
Her, some people don't like Sahko, end of. Even when he has a solid game overall, they will go watch the game again to nit pick the one time he slipped, missed a header or was caught out and then point to that as a concern, as if footballers are perfect and will never make mistakes. Kompany in all his glory, makes mistakes in games but because it doesn't cost them, they are overlooked because well, people love him come rain or shine. Funny that and error prone defender like Skrtel is allowed to make mistakes yet Sahko isn't allowed such courtesy. Sahko is a very good CB and for long periods, been our best CB but he has his detractors and they will never be pleased until he has perfect games.

12 Mar 2016 19:27:38
Most lefties are completely one footed. Very rarely will you see a left footer cut inside. I remember Robben beating a keeper three times just so he could hit an empty net from ten yards out with his left. Hasn't hurt him has it? and think in another year or two Moreno will be seen as a vital part of Klopps set up.

He gets a right b#@#@#king from Klopp every game but I have the feeling that's because Klopps knows he can and should be doing better so is on his back more.

13 Mar 2016 08:10:20
Redohio do you not think a truly great centre half should go pretty much unnoticed. For me the best centre backs read the game well and do the basics very well 99% of the time. Which cannot be said of Sakho, as I've said before he does have qualities that I appreciate but he is no way a great centre back.
The reason his faults become highlighted are because of his unorthodox way in which he does things which look awkward and unnerving. The best example I can think of would be Alan Hansen not a monster in the tackle and not blessed with blistering pace but just went about his business largely unnoticed but without putting a foot wrong the majority of the time.

12 Mar 2016 21:44:31
should klopp keep having to give him a rollocking every match, when will the penny drop with this guy? i'm not bothered that he is all left foot, it's his positional sense and lack of tracking back plus his tackling that let's him down, he can count himself lucky he is still starting at left back, klopp does not seem like the kind of guy who likes repeating himself, if Moreno wants to stay long term he had better buck his ideas up imo.

11 Mar 2016 20:40:29
hey Ed's and fellow posters, i was just wondering what everyone thought about the new stand.
i am glad we stopped at anfield even if it cost us on capacity being lower than a new stadium could of had and limitations on expanding anfield.
The new stand looks amazing, really big and intimidating. Also with the naming rights it will more or less pay for it self.
plus after the way the crowd was last night we don't want to lose that like arsenal have since they have moved stadium.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - I thought they were photographs of Guantanamo Bay - looks like a detention center.}

11 Mar 2016 20:50:21
you don't like it then Ed, what would you have done then.

{Ed002's Note - It is a joke - it looks dreadful inside.}

11 Mar 2016 21:02:03
We're going to stick all the away fans in there ed 😉.

11 Mar 2016 21:22:19
What stadium is nice though? You only need to walk around inside the Nu Camp and Anfield doesn't seem so bad.

{Ed002's Note - Nomnsense to deflect away from Liverpool DBol.}

11 Mar 2016 21:28:03
It looks just like any other football stand ed002 is just joking to make you everyone panic as usual.

{Ed002's Note - It is truly pitiful that after someone asks a qudstion you have to make a complete embarrassment of yourself by trying to make it about someone else.}

11 Mar 2016 21:30:35
I don't really care what the stadium looks like, I want a good view and a good atmosphere, I don't go to watch football and admire the architecture 😄.

11 Mar 2016 22:07:18
Kloppo why would you panic if Eds 002 doesent like the main stand? If Eds 002 didn't like roast beef would you be in a panic and contemplate life without Roast dinners? I suggest you get a thought process of your own Kloppo because there's some horrible people out there waiting for easy prey like you.

12 Mar 2016 00:15:49
I don't really like it inside either. It looks like a hipster warehouse. But it's what it looks like from the pitch that really matters.

11 Mar 2016 22:56:23
Sometimes ed it really does seem like you're trying to get a rise out of Liverpool fans! I understand that this site must be extremely tedious at times and your patience tried, but I feel there was little need for that comment! You do treat Liverpool fans slightly differently to other fans and you're dislike is becoming increasingly more apparent! I very rarely post, and I hope you don't see this as a personal attack as it isn't, but you must understand that most supporters don't have the knowledge of the game you possess and it appears you use that knowledge to make people look foolish and it's not fair! This isn't a go, merely an observation! Good day to you all

Ian the red.

{Ed002's Note - I answered the question honestly. The club released some photographs of the inside of the new stand and it looks awful - which is what I said. Then there is the usual embarrassing nonsense bringing other clubs in to it. If the Liverpool fans are happy being in what looks like a detention centre (perhaps it makes them feel like home), then I really don't care. If people are not interested in an honest opinion, do dot ask questions. I have given more information about players on this page than I have on any other and you suggest that I "dislike" the Liverpool fans. There are other pages I give no information at all so perhaps it will be weasier if I went back to providing information to those pages and stoipped bothering here? You decide Ian.}.

12 Mar 2016 07:47:36
You have to remember ed002 was born like a thousand years ago. I guess he thinks its missing a bit of roman architecture.

12 Mar 2016 09:49:47
I don't think it would be weasier, Ed, please don't stoip.

12 Mar 2016 10:45:58
I would be gutted if you stopped coming on this site ed002, I value your input and love reading your thoughts, you was asked a question, you answered it, please continue to do so.

12 Mar 2016 11:57:39
Ed002 before you play the 'don't ask if you don't like the reply' card consider that if the Lfc fans didn't ask questions then there wouldn't be need for this website. No need for a sarcastic reply to this. Just stating my honest opinion as you put it!

{Ed002's Note - The website is not here for you to ask me questions - which is handy for you going forward.}

12 Mar 2016 12:13:04
Haha wish you all the best then edwina002.

{Ed001's Note - The site is not about asking us questions and 'persons' like you are what ruins it by making it feel like we are wasting our time bothering. I think it is just a waste of time any of us bothering if all we are going to get is some idiot abusing the fact we make the extra effort on here.}

12 Mar 2016 13:35:56
Best site I read. Better than all the main stream nonsense. Better than all the fan site nonsense. Only site that is more right than wrong and is insightful about players and has credibility through results when it comes to transfer speculation and besides the Ed's has some informative posters about how loaned players etc. Don't mind the morons, at least they are honest in how they nakedly show off their density. I can only feel for those who have to listen to their rubbish in the real world. And did I mention, "Best Site Ever! " PS Would be interesting if Ed's comments could be voted on. Would be good to see the smart/ moron data.

12 Mar 2016 14:58:49
god i only asked if people liked the new stand and people are attacking the Ed for voicing his opinion.
if he doesn't like, he doesn't like it. that's it nothing more to it.
Personally i think it looks ok nothing amazing, does the job.
The only thing i care about is that we stopped at anfield and we kept the atmosphere we create, not move in to a lifeless bowl like arsenal.

12 Mar 2016 14:32:53
Ed002, do you reckon the new main stand interior also looks a bit like Chelsea Markets in NY (assuming you've been)? Very rustic, unrendered brick walls, hanging lamp lights. so bloody hipster!

{Ed002's Note - I haven't been to the markets in NYC (I try to avoid the East Coast as much as I can) but understand what you mean. There are plenty of warehouses that have been converted in to apartments, hotels and shopping areas. I have a number of friends who have spent good amounts of money on such places in London, there is a Marriott I stayed in in Manchester once that had 15 inch square wooden pillars in a couple of the rooms. I was in the spice market in Sarona last week - all very cool. If the Liverpool fans consider Guantanamo Bay "rustic" then the new stands will be great. To me, communist era office buildings in Chisinau are way funkier.}

13 Mar 2016 03:04:39
I think it's rustic just not done the right way. I can imagine them serving burgers and fries on stupid wooden boards.

I agree with you about the East Coast. I love NY, but it seems like the whole East Coast needs a bit of a makeover.

11 Mar 2016 19:58:52
Few players have been picking up form under klopp recently. Although I do think Milner and lallana have improved and played well, and do try hard, I do think we need to sell one. Milner is more adaptable, better defensively and probably a better delivery, lallana is more creative and younger, personally I'd keep lallana if one.
I know it's unrealistic, but I'd love Willian on the right of the firmino and coutinho, pacey prem proven, creative, works hard, that Brazilian link AND can take a bloody set piece!

Believable4 Unbelievable17

12 Mar 2016 10:23:49
Please don't stop ed002. I have seen the other sites you don't post on and i couldn't think of anything worse.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion and if you look at the pics barcelona released that looks amazing in comparison

Crooky.

{Ed002's Note - The problem is Crooky that I start to think I am wasting my time in a lot of cases. Today a couple of pages are particularly bad - not abuse of the editors, but abuse of other posts and posters. Again it is heading down hill. I don't have the inclination to constantly deal with the morons. I am awaiting Ian to reply and if he would be happier that I stopped posting anything on this page then so be it. Nobody really has any interest in transfer information - and certainly few care for truthful opinion.}

12 Mar 2016 10:42:23
Ed 02 you get shirty with most people.

{Ed002's Note - Looks like it won't be bothering you much longer.}

12 Mar 2016 11:51:31
Please do stop posting on this site you pathetic joke go **** yourself you person.

12 Mar 2016 13:17:24
I'd just like to say - Words are only half the conversation. Body language, context and tone of voice also need to be taken into account. Words can be put into any context you want, so take this into account when reading what people are saying.

This isn't directed at you Ed002, it's to the posters who have jumped on the hate wagon over your comments.

12 Mar 2016 13:25:34
sigh all this over a comment about the look of the stadium?

ive been on this site for years, and if ed002 stop posting on this site, i'm sure a handful will stop visiting as well.

12 Mar 2016 14:35:30
I've had plenty of disagreements and bust ups with ed002 - which I hold no grudge over- and if ed002 were to leave the Liverpool page like he left the United page then you'd be losing something very valuable.

12 Mar 2016 14:50:34
You only need to visit the Man U page now and then to see what a dark and lonely place it is without ED002

Those toxic plant pots abused him that much he has refused to comment on there any more, and they have all lost ED002's input

This is not only a free site, but it where you will also get the most honest and reliable information, which is simply not available anywhere else, and a breath of fresh air above all the bison rubbish that gets wrote in the red tops, web sites and sly sports

If ED002 thinks it looks like a detention centre then so be it, that's his prerogative and he is entitled to it. move on, don't be so wet and ruin for everyone else.

12 Mar 2016 21:49:27
If eds 02 stops posting on our page I'll be cutting down my visits, the insights on the politics, transfers and day to day business dealings of clubs has been enlightening. If it wasn't for the eds I'd have thought Firmino was a bargain. (he still might be! )
I must admit I'm a follower of the eds 02 appreciation facebook page.
Gilfnard anyone.

11 Mar 2016 19:54:42
edo1 wat do you think of joe allen under klopp? every game he has played under klopp he has looked great just like the first few months of his Liverpool career before he got injured. I think we should keep him and replace milner wats your thoughts cheers. also agree on your run down of studge looks way off the pace looks slow as if he daren't sprint.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

{Ed001's Note - Allen is playing well, but he has only come on against tired legs, in the main. That makes it difficult to judge, as his main issue has always been that he struggles with the physicality of the league. He does look to be up for it and offers something different. For me he will only ever be a back up and it would come down to how much he is earning and if we have any youth players that could provide cover. Milner is on too much to be kept unless he is going to play really well each and every game.}

11 Mar 2016 20:58:28
would keep allen if he is happy to be a squad player and sell milner but don't know who is going to buy him on his wages.
only sell allen if we are going to sign another senior midfielder.
can henderson lucas allen has senior midfielders with youngsters able to fill in.

11 Mar 2016 21:47:01
i have to agree about allen, he has played better since he has come back in, but i would sell lallana for the simple fact we would get more money for him than we would if we sold milner or allen, if allen is happy being a sub then i would keep him because he has something that the others don't have and that to me his the awareness he has, he gets into the box late so hard to pick up and he could have scored a few more goals than he already has, all this is just my opinion but what i do know is that Klopp has a very big job on his hands with getting rid of the players he does not want or need and then getting the players he wants in then fitting them all in to his starting line up,

11 Mar 2016 23:35:21
He looks to have got Stronger on the ball, but he always did have good spells. Also he's been playing as a more attacking midfielder, positionally anyway, and we know he can pass so this helps him. He is a good sub in those situations because he tackles well and keeps possession but would he be happy with that and is he worth keeping to be a sub most weeks?

12 Mar 2016 00:57:59
With milner on over 120kpw don't see us shifting him at all. Even if we accepted a minimal fee whos going to pay his wages. Newcastle perhaps?

12 Mar 2016 00:58:27
mbrock99, I'd personally keep Lallana who really has come on recently and probably in Klopp's thoughts for next season, but sell both Milner and Allen, unless Allen is OK with being a squad player, like Kolo has been! Milner is a hard one, as he does seem to want to give his all, but is his all what we really need? I really hope we can get to see the best from Hendo again, he's not been the same since his injury and we need our captain to be firing on all cylinders! Will Grujic be classed as one of the youngsters?

12 Mar 2016 02:14:54
Hendo and Can are building themselves into first choice deep midfielders, with Grujic, Lucas, Milner, Stewart, Rossiter, Chirivella all able to cover if required.

As good a player as he is, he doesn't score enough to be in the attacking mids for me where we have Coutinho, Firmino, Llalana, Milner ahead of him, hopefully Markovic to return and Ibe, Ojo, Brannagan and Kent coming through.

Allen is a pass master and deserves to be a first team player, just don't see it happening at Liverpool. If we were to sell Milner and Lucas however, would perhaps be a different story as his experience would become much more valuable.

12 Mar 2016 09:19:01
Isn't there some rule about not being able to sell players you got on a free transfer ( Milner) genuinely interested, does anyone know?

12 Mar 2016 10:53:26
I agree with some one above. We will struggle to offload Milner due his insane wages. Selling Allen wouldn't bother me given we buy a top class CM in his place. I like his professionalism. No noise from the back and happy to by his time and whenever called up on. He has delivered. The goal against Arsenal at home and ye coolest penalty will always be special.

11 Mar 2016 19:41:38
Sheyi Ojo is so much better than Jordan Ibe he's probably at the same level possibly higher than when sterling was playing for the 21s although it must be said sterling was 16 and ojo is 18 ibe for comparisons sake is exactly 1 year younger than sterling and has achieved nothing in comparison. Ojo is the real deal.

Believable3 Unbelievable16

11 Mar 2016 20:08:17
I realise this might seem like a rant at ibe which it isn't but he's clearly very low on confidence right now which I will say in his defence. Positives are Ojo though he has the physicality sterling will never have but he has all of his pace final ball like the other two is inconsistent at best buy for me Ojo could end up the best of the three by quite a way.

11 Mar 2016 20:46:25
I felt like I time-warped to a year ago. just that this time Sterling is Ibe and now Ibe is Ojo.

11 Mar 2016 21:02:44
Ojo has always been a top prospect.

11 Mar 2016 23:11:43
I don't think you can compare the two.

Ibe looked a bit burnt out and low on confidence. It happens. He still has a huge potential and seems to be a good lad. So hopefully he's training hard. But Ibe has been great at times also in addition to poor. Goal against Soton. On his day Ibe can do the job. Ojo hasn't really played proper senior football yet. You can't say Ojo will be better than Ibe they are both still pretty young.

That said Ojo looks like a very good player and it will be interesting to see how they both develop!

11 Mar 2016 23:33:22
They are different players. Ibe is a better passer and has a shot like a howitzer on him. Ojo is quicker and a better dribbler. Why can't both succeed? Isn't a one or the other type conundrum.

12 Mar 2016 00:39:47
I disagree; Ibe is the faster player among the two IMO, and Ojo the better passer.

12 Mar 2016 02:19:41
Both are very good prospects.

Everyone got way too excited over Ibe and probably will over Ojo too sometime soon. Difference right now is probably only that Ibe is down on confidence and Ojo up.

I do think over time Ojo could become the better player though as he's a better crosser and finisher, but he yet to be proven at senior level.

{Ed001's Note - people need to calm down and look at Albrighton. At Villa he was hyped up after bursting through young, then he spent a few years struggling so they let him go. It is only now he is finally playing well and he is what 26? People expect too much too soon, not every player can be great straight away, patience is needed.}

12 Mar 2016 00:17:42
Wasn't Ojo given a mention by Ed002? Not saying Ed002 gave a direct opinion, but was told by someone that Ojo and someone else were the outstanding youth prospects at the moment (in Europe was it? ), or words to that effect. Sorry if I'm wrong Ed002.

{Ed002's Note - That was in 2013. He was one of four young players picked out as having exceptional talent and the opportunity for a very good career ahead.}

12 Mar 2016 10:21:40
Ibe is fast but Ojo is the quickest thing you'll see on a football pitch. Michael Owen at 17 type pace.

12 Mar 2016 15:00:19
Was Ilori one of the others Ed002? 😉.

11 Mar 2016 18:44:06

Lol benny u couldn't resist could you.

Got the line up unfortunately spot on though didn't I.

11 Mar 2016 18:02:51
Quick question for all,

Flanno or the newly reformed Clyne at RB?
Best pairing at CB when Matip arrives?
Would Bernd Leno from Leverkusen be a good and possible option for GK?
Should we keep Llanna and Markovic or sell both and buy?
Who would best and most viable option for LB to replace Moreno, thinking current squad (Gomez and Smith) or buy?
What the heck should we do about strikers? We have quite a few, but should we stick or twist?
Just some thoughts I wanted to get opinions on as I just don't know myself.
Thank you.

Believable3 Unbelievable6

11 Mar 2016 18:37:41
Flanno left, Clyne right.
Matip and Sakho/ Lovren
Don't know about keeper
Keep Lallana unless a better option is available
Keep Lazar if he's happy to stay
Sell Benteke, keep Ings, Sturridge, Origi and Firmino.

11 Mar 2016 18:43:07
what dilema bazz think biggest room for improvement would be in defance but were last night united were so poor but still worried when they got near the penalty area, attack wise coutinho firmino and llalna look our most exciting but where does that leave what we have left. midfield looks solid but not spectacular think Henderson will beenefit from summer break but will he be included in euros Can looked effective last night but they where poor in that area GLAD I AM NOT THE MANAGER.

11 Mar 2016 20:14:10
Both Flanno and Clyne start for me - left or right, both seem comfortable either side so reckon klopp will come to sensible decision as to which one plays 'out of position'

Assuming Matip will start, Sakho currently but Lovren is starting to look more the player we thought we were getting after a shockingly shaky start. Sakho is a monster in the air but needs to be alongside a decent ball playing defender imo, - mama 's passing is woeful at times.

If we can land a top CB then could let Skrtel go but would be happy to keep him as competition for that spot - he's a long serving player and think gets harsh criticism from some, he puts his body on the line and fights for the team

kolo to go - gomez is extra cover for CB - illori if we/ he decide to remain

1st choice Keeper would be Butland for me, think we'd be sorted for a good decade - but if we can do shrewed business in germany then may be one of the highly rated keepers may do the job at fraction of cost, not that familiar with their work if I'm honest tho - we MUST get decent keeper as will help whole defence

We may well bring in a LB (if moreno left) but wouldn't be disappointed if didn't with moreno, gomez and smith as options - saying that if clyne or flanno start ahead of them on the left

Would like to keep markovic and hope he would get more game time in rotation when resting cou, firm&lall- didn't get a fair crack before and for me, easily shows more promise than Ibe, i know Ibe is young but don't think he's good enough for us, although not sure I'm in the majority in thinking that, watched games where he's raved over because he runs at players but don't see him doing much more than that, no end product, has had game time and chipped in with no league goals and 2 assists from the wing, skrtel has been generally more prolific! would be interested to hear from Ibe fans

Finally, 100% Lallana to stay, hope he now gets support from the fans rather than the bashing he seems to have been taking, been unlikely with injuries and not getting a run in the team and you can tell his confidence been low which is a huge factor - but he's a player who can on his day run a game, he did for southampton and provided many goals and assists and work rate is exactly what kloppp demands - he's another match winner along side cou and firmino and think those 3 capable of terrorising any defence

keep studge, think klopp likes origi and based on that will like ings - its what to do with big ben, just not sure he can physically adapt to play like one of those 3 - not a bad unit to bring on if chasing a game and want to revert to whipping in a few crosses but a very expensive one, if we can re-coup a good chunk of cash then be great to add a Top top striker - but not sure who best most realistic target is - reckon klopp may have an idea and let's hope he may be able to tempt previously unattainable big fish. Reus would be very welcome, someone of that ilk!

11 Mar 2016 20:54:10
Depending how we bring in in the off, playing a natural right footer in clyne, flanno or gomsz really limits our width down that side. We'd be a bit predictable. Having said that I'd prefer flanno with no legs to moreno.

11 Mar 2016 20:55:51
Thanks for responses all, I agree with so much - but mostly with Tc77 about glad I am not the manager! Klopp must have a headache wondering what to do.
If we sell Big Ben it will be at a big loss. Gamble and try him again next season, he may still not produce and his value drops further - maybe flash sale in Jan! Not the best idea.
We certainly have a plethora of LB and RB options, makes a change.
What will Markovic decide too?
This summer will be madness for sure.

11 Mar 2016 19:05:14
Klopp rates Moreno. His incredible pace and what he offers up front couldn't be discounted. He has a cracking left foot. His links up play with Coutinho is just brilliant.

11 Mar 2016 23:15:11
So 4 people disagree with a question? I disagree with your disagree. Plain wierd. sorry Eds.

11 Mar 2016 23:15:38
I think Sahko and Lovren have been doing a good job. if it carries on i don't see a reason why Matip should start ahead of one of them.

Though that said Matip might come in and be a cut above what we have. I think you have to wait and see how he performs for us. It's a tough call to make now as we have looked better defensively!

Personally think Sahko is the better defender than Lovren. But i cannot knock Lovren, He has stuck at it. Looks at lot more confident and playing better :)

11 Mar 2016 23:16:25
Kloppo tears a strip off Moreno every game 😄.

11 Mar 2016 23:52:22
And did it again on Thursday.

12 Mar 2016 00:43:49
Moreno offers nothing tangible upfront. His pace gets him out of jail plenty of time, but he remains rather naive defensively and offensively.

Bogdan, Toure, Enrique, Allen, Benteke, Luis Alberto, Ilori, Tex, Yesil, and perhaps Lloyd Jones, Rossiter, Dunn, and one of Lallana or Milner to leave.

12 Mar 2016 02:25:50
My picks
I'd play Flanno left, Clyne right.
Matip and one of either Sakho/ Lovren
Leno would make a great option for us in place of Bogdan and let him and Amiga compete
Keep Lallana and Lazar, both offer something different, if we had to lighten up I'd sell Allen or maybe Milner (if we bring a wide attacking player as I suspect we will)
Sell Benteke and keep Ings, Sturridge, Origi and Firmino can play backup if required.

11 Mar 2016 17:29:48
ed001 belated thanks for your match review, how would you set us up for the 2nd game mate?, as whoever gets the next goal makes it interesting, if it's us they have to score 4, what a shame the tie is not already over, but boy does it feel good to get one over them again! if this is what we have to look forward to under klopp on a regular basis, we have plenty to look forward to.

Believable6 Unbelievable3

{Ed001's Note - I would treat it exactly like the first one and go at them, they are a poor side in poor form, they are there for the taking. Pretend it is 0-0 and play like we have to win to go through and get it done in style.}

11 Mar 2016 17:38:00
I was thinking the same ed, its only half time so to speak so yes the same again should see us right, only our own complacency can stop us, and given the opponent I cannot see that happening.

{Ed001's Note - fingers crossed. I have already told the family we will be repeating exactly what we did last night before the second leg. Yes I really am that superstitious.}

11 Mar 2016 18:20:46
We score one, this poor side has to score 4. Not going to happen, so I agree, we should go for the kill.

11 Mar 2016 18:22:39
U are a different kind mate lol.

11 Mar 2016 18:35:32
Agree completley with you ED001, go at em, a poor side they are.

a fantatic performance BUT where has this jekyll n hyde team of ours been in many games this season when even half of this performance and bit more consistency would have us in better league position.

11 Mar 2016 19:30:53
Maybe our inconsistencies have came from so many injuries and not having the same back four time and again.

11 Mar 2016 20:00:28
Completely agree! Press high again! Can't see them picking the same team, might bring in Allen/ Milner for Sturridge and put firmino up top, but try and put them under pressure!

11 Mar 2016 23:17:59
I think if we get one early at trafford we can put another 2 past them if we are playing right.

Get and early one, they have to go for it then to try and get 4.

If couts. Firmino and lallana play like they did the other day we will just cut through them like butter i think.

The one serious factor you have to think about is Degea if he plays another blinder it will be more difficult for us.

11 Mar 2016 23:56:17
Play the same team and the exact same way. The first goal in that game will be crucial. Klopp doesn't park buses and doesn't play conservative football as that's not his style. He has only one speed which is of course, BOOM. Go at them, catch them off guard and finish them off and send LVG into retirement after the game.

12 Mar 2016 02:31:31
That'll certainly have more possession at home but we should continue to press high and go for the away goal. If they score one and its 2-1 with 30mins to play, could be very uncomfortable with the crowd at their backs and tails high. any goal we get will bury them.

I'd pick same side except Flanno at LB to minimise chance of conceding any daft goals.

{Ed001's Note - Flanno can't play, he wasn't included in the European squad as they were not sure he would be ready.}

12 Mar 2016 11:12:15
we don't want to send lvg into retirement redohio, the longer he stays as man utd boss, the better it is for all of us who don't support man utd, give him a new deal and let him completely destroy them from within. £300m he has spent on players, can anybody name 1 player that could be deemed a sucsess?

12 Mar 2016 15:04:28
Right you are Ed, completely forgot. In that case, I'd go for Smith.

{Ed001's Note - I would like to see that too, his pace is up there with Moreno's, but his delivery is better. Having said that, I won't be too bothered who we pick so long as the team is up for it again.}

11 Mar 2016 17:29:17
One of United's biggest mistakes was giving so much time to Sakho. He's got this reputation for for being uncomfortable on the ball but he's anything but.
Yes he looks ungainly but he's a great passer and very direct.
Most of our attacks last night started from him.

Believable6 Unbelievable6

11 Mar 2016 18:25:14
That's not what lost us the game mate.
I don't understand this mentality of trying to find the players that affected the game the least and trying to find a way of giving them credit.

Fact is your midfielders smashed ours to high heaven and your forwards gave us a lesson. Is that not enough?

Your defence had a very easy night which is the sad thing.

{Ed001's Note - Sakho was excellent, if he had not passed the ball out well, then we would not have dominated as we did. It is about giving credit where it is due.}

11 Mar 2016 18:40:02
i don't think he was anything special mate. but the sad truth is he didn't have to be. your CM out fought ours.

11 Mar 2016 20:05:14
I know stats are completely subjective but sakho made more passes than any United player, if that's not affecting the game, what is?

11 Mar 2016 21:53:37
Sakho's passing ability really does split opinion. It's either calamitous or he's seen as a great passer, seems to be no in between.

I work with a couple of arsenal fans who are very much in the calamitous camp and often bring up his frailties in possession and generally don't rate him at all. I can recall many times he has misplaced passes and given cause for concern. Then some days he is incredible in the air and he's an absolute rock, most fans seem to really like him. But he does try to ping hollywood balls to often for me and don't really come off.

So, is he brilliant or a donkey? Be interested to try and gauge opinion further! Thoughts?

11 Mar 2016 22:25:14
Sakho looks ungainly but is actually good on the ball for a centre back and an excellent passer.

11 Mar 2016 19:07:13
Their biggest blunder was to partner Fellaini with Schnider which opened up their midfield and let Liverpool to dominate. Herrera should have started alongside Schnider. They lost the battle there. The first meaningful cross came in the 85th min inspire of having the Belgium.
Poor.

11 Mar 2016 23:17:37
Sakho looks to get the ball moving forwards 9 times out of 10, that's why he's so effective.

11 Mar 2016 23:20:24
I think Sahko needs a bit more credit where it is due. He defended well and passed well.

he runs and moves gangly which makes him look more shaky than not! yes he misplaces a pass here or there. But it happens in football. I think he's more assured than people think in general. Every defender gives you those moment where you think don't mess it up!

11 Mar 2016 23:44:40
That's my point harry, we lost key battles but the sakho one was not one because we put him under no pressure.

The attacking players smashed us give them the credit.

A good defense is an under worked one like Thursday.

11 Mar 2016 23:46:00
Lol do people even read my post or just click disagree because I support utd?

So come on them who disagrees with my notion your CM beat ours?

12 Mar 2016 00:01:01
Those who beat up on Sahko have no idea about football. He is a beast at winning the ball cleanly and switching defence to attack in one pass. He is one of the best ball playing CB's in the PL, hands down and an able replacement in that dept. for Agger. If you allow Sahko to bring the ball out into midfield with no pressure, he will destroy you as we saw Thursday.

12 Mar 2016 00:10:52
Disagree ohio.

12 Mar 2016 01:36:50
ctr i would suggest ignoring the agrees and disagrees number on this site, people just seem to disagree on everything lately.

while we had won the midfield battle, we still needed to carve and create chances in order to score, which often times when we are in control, we don't do that and subsequently concede from a set piece.

and sakho played a part in that as he has done on multiple occasions to be fair. it wasnt him alone yes, but he definitely played a part in it.

12 Mar 2016 02:40:03
I agree Redman, Fellaini was a massive mistake, he won the game for you a few games back where he dominated in the air, but with Hendo/ Can playing deeper midfield he didn't dominate physically and we managed to keep the ball on the ground more and give him the runaround.

Once that possession was achieved though, the effectiveness of our CBs at dictating play shouldn't be underestimated and Sakho did a great job finding the weak spots in Uniteds defensive setup.

11 Mar 2016 16:33:48
Afternoon eds

Whats your take on last nights game and performance please mate? Do you think its a case of the players warming to Klopps methods? Emre, Lallana, Clyne and even Milner last few games been loads better and we look solid at the back. 3/ 4weeks ago every cross that came into our box looked dangeress were as now if you take the city and utd games hardly any crosses actually come in at all? Credit has to go to the players imo.

Believable4 Unbelievable3

{Ed001's Note - coaching is where the credit must go, the players are getting the hang of what they are being asked to do.}

11 Mar 2016 17:22:52
Ed, with the. Process players are making under the coaching and players looking a lot better. Do you think the mass exodus may be reduced in the summer?
The regular posts of Llalanna, Milner, Sakho and so forth leaving. Do you think some maybe all have played there way back into Klopp's plans for next season?

{Ed001's Note - I still expect the squad to be reduced in size, which will mean a number of players leaving.}

12 Mar 2016 00:01:46
Sahko is going nowhere.

12 Mar 2016 01:18:10
Neither is Lallana redohio, but not sure on Milner and whether he has done enough to stay!

12 Mar 2016 00:00:54
Can I ask who you think will go Ed?

{Ed001's Note - I have answered this question loads of times recently mate, it is pointless me just repeating it over and over.}

12 Mar 2016 07:28:37
Every player is potentially up for sale as it all depends on whether there is a buyer and how much they will pay.

11 Mar 2016 15:26:22
Newcastle have pulled off a massive coup. The Newcastle fans are probably rubbing their eyes in disbelief. Fair play to the Geordies because getting Rafa is like getting their very own Klopp. No rational manager with any gravitas would go and work for Cashley and I can't believe Rafa has signed on the dotted line. Surely he doesent need the money? But they are a super club with legendary fans, maybe he thinks he can awake a sleeping giant? Maybe it was Montse's decision? Anyway welcome back to the Premiership Mr Benitez can't wait to see you back at Anfield and hearing the Kop chant your name. You deserve our affection. Good luck on your new Geordie adventure.

Believable14 Unbelievable2

11 Mar 2016 17:28:33
He is a workaholic and he has a house in the northeast, practically a no brainer for him i would have thought. Not sure if it is too late to save newcastle but if anyone can bring some dicipline to that lot rafa can.

Despite his shinanigans towards the end of his tenure i have a lot of time and respect for him. I wish him all the best tbh.

11 Mar 2016 16:16:03
Super club? Really?

11 Mar 2016 17:42:46
its a no lose situation for the guy, plus he will have the chance to relegate fat sam, once again though a manager doing a poor job has been allowed to stay on, after the transfer window has closed and the guy taking his place has to make do, with what's been left behind, that's the madness part.

11 Mar 2016 17:46:15
He may well stop the goals leaking, but the attack is another big problem for them. Wishing Rafa the best of luck as he will always be a legends for us.

11 Mar 2016 18:02:47
With their heritage, pedigree, fan base and footballing culture I'd call them 'super' redsince85.

11 Mar 2016 18:19:31
Welcome to the world of watching boring football Newcastle fans, you'll be difficult to beat, but for 90% of the time absolutely dire to watch.

11 Mar 2016 19:33:11
Geordie dilemna. watch boring football in the mega mega bucks Premiership or get relegated to the championship? Mmmm tough choice John B.

11 Mar 2016 23:22:24
Good luck to Rafa, will be good to have him back at Anfield as most of us who watched the night in Instanbul won't forget it!

12 Mar 2016 07:29:32
Rafa is a legend, I look forward to giving him a massive welcome back to Anfield and then smashing his team to high heaven.

YNWA Rafa.

11 Mar 2016 15:03:57
No idea why Rafa would take the Newcastle job, looks like a poison chalice at the moment.

But I wish him all the best, still holds some very fond memories for me.

Will be great to see him back at Anfield again, sure he will get a rousing reception.

YNWA.

Believable9 Unbelievable2

11 Mar 2016 16:59:03
Personally I think it's a great move for Rafa. A massive sleeping giant that everybody thinks is going to get relegated so it's a no lose situation for him. If they go down the players get the blame, if they stay up it will be down to Rafa's brilliance.

11 Mar 2016 17:42:29
It is a potentially big club with a huge loyal fan base and excellent facilities. Expectation is rock bottom. The chance to be the first manager for 2-3 generations to win something.
Personally I think it's a good job for Rafa, the only negative is Ashley.

11 Mar 2016 17:47:17
If they stay up, there could be no other reason than Rafa.

11 Mar 2016 20:53:02
I agree. I don't know what he has to prove going to such a shambles as Newcastle, taking away the playing squad, how on earth is he going to deal with Ashley?

12 Mar 2016 00:03:08
If he can't keep them up, all the potential to win things as a sleeping giant ain't going to matter.

11 Mar 2016 14:37:14
Actially do we really need wholesale changes to the team in the summer?

This team has put in some great performances as it is.

I personally only think Moreno and Mignolet need replacing. And Flanno and Smith could well make up for More no's inadequacies so that leaves Mignolet.

Otherwise, if we can add some consistency and keep key players fit, we may not actually need to spend much - which can only benefit the club.

At least I'm sure Klopp won't overpay or buy for buying sake.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

11 Mar 2016 14:57:08
Its alright the team putting in decent performances, that's great. they're gelling as a team, they look a lot tidier and cohesive than they used to be.

However we still need that extra spark of quality, someone like payet who has balls and makes a difference in every game he plays.

Its alright all the players putting in a shift when we play well because that's all we need. However, when they don't play well, we don't have anybody who steps up to the plate. that's what we need.

11 Mar 2016 15:44:41
totally agree we should move from wholesale average players to getting few high quality buys and imo right now will still not be the right time to get in a new keeper if it means we still maintaining both ward and mignolet bide our time like arsenal and snap up an ozil and sanchez then we can find a cech.

11 Mar 2016 16:14:16
I think we should buy shaqiri, he is auch a tricky winger. Hope mark hughes willing to sell.

11 Mar 2016 17:19:20
Shaquiri? Really? No thanks.

11 Mar 2016 17:44:54
we still need a clearout our league position says so, I am thrilled with recent form but let's not lose sight of the bigger picture.

11 Mar 2016 23:26:51
We need to clear out a fair few players and buy 1-3 quality players and look to build on what Klopp and the other coaching/ management team have instilled in the squad as you can see it's starting to click.

Not sure if the funds would be there. But we can't spend millions more again on players to sit on the bench or under perform. It would also upset things a little for loads of new faces as the players are only just now getting to grip i think properly with what is being asked of them on the pitch!

I think we have a decent squad with a lot of potential. We have Ings to come back who i think a lot of us fans want to see under JK, gomez also was very promising!

But i think areas such as GK need strengthening.

Exciting times ahead redmen!

11 Mar 2016 14:02:48
What an atmosphere last night. Was at the game and was buzzing! Feeling drained today after a 7 hour journey there and a 5.30 hour journey back. Got home at 4.00am and was up at 6.45 am for work! Well worth it though! Well done lads. Sahko was immense.

Believable10 Unbelievable0

11 Mar 2016 17:46:23
I was working besides a utd fan last night, the poor guy was in bits, it was great!

11 Mar 2016 13:48:42
I wonder if Lallana might still turn out to be the player we were hopping when we bought him. He seems to be changing the way he plays as time goes on and I hope it continues. I would still be moving on Milner, Skrtal, Sahko (sorry but he is calamitous at times), Moreno, Migs, Benteke and Kolo. Maybe Markovic could provide the pace and penetration to counter defensive teams and maybe Ibe can come back stronger next season to do the same.

I see the shopping list as:

a CB to play with Lovren, Matip and Ilori.

a LB to replace Moreno.

a GK to replace Migs.

a striker to replace Benteke although Ings might just provide enough cover if we persist in just playing 1 out and out striker.

A winger IF Markovic isn't kept.

So 4 to 5 more players.

Believable1 Unbelievable16

11 Mar 2016 14:41:55
Let's change the manager as well eh, you seem well capable of doing his job. And the CEO job may also suit with your obvious financial know how. Sahko is twice the player of Loren. Striker wise we have Sturridge, Ings, Origi, Benteke, Ojo, you seem to be forgetting about Gomez as well as Flanagan for full back.

11 Mar 2016 17:21:31
North, I thought the CB to play with Lovren already played with him last night in the name of mama Sahko so don`t know what other CB you want us to buy? We don`t need 5 more players as we already have two coming in. we need a GK, an LB and a wide forward with pace and goals. Nothing more.

11 Mar 2016 17:29:30
We have a CB coming in already in Matip so that's sorted already. A keeper, left back and winger if Markovic leaves, as you say north, must be the priority.

11 Mar 2016 17:32:12
We only need 4 players. A top class gk a lb and playmaker and a player like reus. Who can play out wide who score goals .

11 Mar 2016 14:24:34
Sakho is more than good enough to keep. Don't forget Gomez. Agree LB and GK are a must. The striker situation is fine with or without Benteke. Ings, Origi, Sturridge and Firmino are quality and as we play one up front plenty. Also I'm not 100% what Ojo is, a winger or a forward?

Aside from a LB we are bloated everywhere else, not including up and coming. A GK is an obvious must buy.

Bogdan, Mignolet (highly doubtful), Skrtel, Toure, Milner, Benteke and Balotelli should go. Moreno if we have a decent LB lined up. Any youth who isn't going to make it should be sold and let them have a career. We'd still have a fat squad without replacements.

11 Mar 2016 17:43:52
Flanno as left back, smith as back up.

11 Mar 2016 20:08:51
Only need to buy for 3 positions. A new GK, but who? A new lb but again, who? For the only attacking addition, I would do everything possible to sign reus if it were down to me. Reus Coutinho and Firmino behind Sturridge. how brutal does that sound.

11 Mar 2016 20:38:18
I think what is clear is A gk and wide forward are priorities. As the ed has said the squad needs to be trimmed so there will be more leaving than entering.
The transfer market will be busy as Chelsea, Man City, probably Man U will all have new managers and new managers all generally get a transfer budget that is inflated, so we can't mess about this summer like we normally do.

11 Mar 2016 21:00:41
Does pace counter defensive teams? I think it's more to do wih angles, 1-touch, creativity etc. But ye anyways it will be interesting to see what Klopp does. I feel that too many changes in one window would be no good.

11 Mar 2016 12:32:34
That was a great game, boys, you were brilliant.

It's state of the nation time, anyone who pay's attention to my posts (come on, there must be at least one) knows that I've been cautious about Klopp, I've been worried (and still am a bit) that our expectations for him are too high and he couldn't possibly live up to them. I think he's made mistakes and he's misjudged a number of things but, and it's a big but, I think he's turned the corner.

We're now 7 games unbeaten (in open play admittedly) having scored 15 and conceded just 2 which is a great run, the team look settled and morale is high. There's still a small chance of 4th but 5th (and finishing above Utd) definitely look's on. I wrote a little while ago about the importance of finishing the season strongly, we have to enter the summer looking like a team on an upward trajectory, not only is it helpful in attracting targets but it sets the tone for next season. Our current form, if we maintain it, certainly does that.

I've spent a lot of time defending our squad and I'm feeling a little bit vindicated, we have some very good players and none of them have peaked yet. Right now I feel our first 11 could be our first 11 next season and we'd do just fine. Having said that if you're not moving forward you're going backwards so I'd love a couple of targeted purchases. Maybe a forward and someone at the back but I think it will be an evolution, not a revolution.

The most important thing is this, we are in a better place now than we were at the beginning of October. That doesn't mean I've changed my opinions on Rodgers, I'll always defend him to the hilt and I maintain that his treatment by certain fans is despicable. Nor will I ever say that Rodgers couldn't have turned things round again. But the bottom line is we've improved and Klopp gets the credit for that and I'm delighted.

Next year will not be easy, I expect Chelsea, City and Utd all to better than they have been this year and who knows what Leicester, Spurs and Arsenal will achieve. But we can only control what we do and I think we'll be right in the mixer. If this season has taught us anything it's that the old rules are out the window and it's anyone's to win so why not us.

Believable7 Unbelievable9

11 Mar 2016 13:07:12
How magnanimous of you 😒.

11 Mar 2016 13:33:14
Sensible post but have to disagree that Rodgers would have been able to turn things around. I would also be happy with the same squad in the main also. However the squad needs to be severely reduced in numbers and we desperately need a new number one.

11 Mar 2016 13:35:03
Good job at hedging you bets, Muscat.

11 Mar 2016 12:08:18
Is Rafa seriously considering Newcastle and a relegation scrap? If shearer thinks it is a sinking ship, steer clear!

Believable9 Unbelievable3

11 Mar 2016 12:27:21
I'm sure Rafa will do a good job there.

11 Mar 2016 14:06:53
There are three outcomes for Rafa at Newcastle.

1) He can't save them. I expect he won't continue as manager after the end of the season.

2) He does save them. Just. But can't get them away from the bottom next season and they sack him.

3) He does save them. Manages to get them into some sort of mid-table stability. Becomes unpopular with the fans over the next year or two for not playing attractive football. Mike Ashley sees a shiny bauble on the ground one day and decides it'll make a better manager, and sacks Rafa.

I think he might be a masochist.

11 Mar 2016 16:44:50
Shelvy now has tha chance to work under a top manager and become the best holding midfielder in europe.
I hope he takes his chance.

11 Mar 2016 17:30:15
Shelvey is shocking! One of the best in Europe? He's not even one of the best in Newcastle!

{Ed001's Note - and he is not a defensive midfielder.}

11 Mar 2016 17:52:08
what's alan shearer got to do with it, the guy thinks he is the be all and end all of all things Newcastle, he is not, brilliant for them as a player, utterly useless for them as a manager, shelvey like Townshend is running out of chances and excuses, where are all these clowns who told us Newcastle did the best business in the January transfer window?

11 Mar 2016 12:07:34
What a game what an atmosphere well worth the 20 hr round trip, I haven't seen anfield rock like that for yrs it was a privilege to be part of last nights crowd possibly the best European night since chavski 05, well done to the players an fans an especially Jurgen for the introduction of Joe Allen he was brilliant as soon as he came on, watching him boss then out jump the plank was a joy, shame on the utd fans who let themselves and their club down was just glad we didn't retaliate with the vile Munich songs, YNWA jft96.

11 Mar 2016 13:35:49
A small minority of idiots. Agreed, full credit to joe Allen he was excellent.

11 Mar 2016 15:02:05
We were right by the united away end and we just booed them. However there were some people who let us down and did make some gestures, you could count them all on both hands though.

But you just think why retaliate? You don't give them attention and they'll either stop or be criticised. It was disgusting though because the entire united away end was at it, not just a few.

11 Mar 2016 11:21:44
Was at the game last night thought i'd share my insight-Incredible atmosphere at times. United fans really let themselves down though with all of their chants. Honestly every single song was either directed towards 'murderers' or 'nearly winning the league'.

Moving on to the actual game you could see from the get go united were not going to cause us any problems-

Mignolet- Not a great deal to do, came and collected everything he needed to.

Moreno- couldn't believe how high up he was so early on- Klopp at one stage even pushed him on further. reasonable game overall. The only things to point out would be the tackle he bottled in the first half and also that mad two footed lunge he loves to do.

Sakho- Takes the ball down under pressure so well, won a lot of headers. Good solid game from him.

Lovren- Really starting to put a good string of consistent performances together. Love to see this partnership remain until the end of the season with no injuries.

Clyne- I watched him closely last night as i have always thought he has been solid but know he gets a lot of stick. Thought he was immense. Won everything, stayed on his feet when needed to and went to ground well when needed to. Did well for the penalty and mostly kept it moving further up the field. One of his better performances.

Can- Unbelievably strong and composed. I do think he is improving. if you look back 6 months he has come on an awful lot mainly in consistency. Also at one point he was screaming for the whole team to get out- love that for such a young player.

Hendo- Ran all night. Went about his job very well. was very clever to stay under the radar with that yellow so early.

Lallana- Turns and runs and turns some more! One of the funniest things i read about Lallana was when people were tracking the plane Klopp arrived on when he signed it had circled John Lennon airport a few times and some one said Lallana must be the pilot! But i do think he has been more direct recently. Very solid last night great composure for the assist and some very neat touches further up the field. looks like one of Klopps favorites.

Coutinho- Thought that save by De Gea was an absolute worldie at the time. looking at the highlights i think he should put it away. Over all not one of his best games but does keep us ticking over and was fine.

Firmino- One of those enigmas. Can come across as being terribly quiet in games but he does so much off the ball. the space he created last night for runners was very clever. Always seems to be in the right place at the moment in front of goal. really really think he can push on and be a main stay in klopps plans for years to come.

Sturridge- Loved how he took the ball of Can for the penalty, decent finish. Last night again wasn't one of his best games for us. He does drop deep at times and takes away Firminos work space. Do think we will see the real Daniel Sturridge back over the next few games. On his day up there with the best strikers in the league.

Allen- Very impressive, imposes himself very well. Can always come on and control a game. Won a big header against Fellani as well. Would love to see him stay as an option from the bench to exactly as he did last night.

Origi- Nice for him to get a song. Looked a very willing runner. Pace for days. Unlucky not to start. Options up front are looking a lot better.

Thanks traff good post.

11 Mar 2016 10:34:40
Curious as to whether ed001 is changing his opinion slowly about lallana. Are you coming around to my way of thinking?
I feel it's like I said all along, he suffered with benteke lack of movement, with origi and sturridge he plays a lot better, no?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - it is nothing to do with those two, it is his game that has changed, I believe that is down to coaching, not those two. The style of game we are playing has changed and he is adapting to it. He has had a couple of good games but he needs to keep it up for the long term, not just a game or two.}

11 Mar 2016 12:00:19
I still think he does too much of controlling the ball with little taps and turns and somehow looking for clear wide space, and then trying to shoot when it is already too late. Klopp needs to take him aside and give him specialized practices where he is simply asked to shoot for goal from a fast ball coming at him, without any control first. But yes, he has improved massively and that's clear for everyone to see.

11 Mar 2016 13:59:26
He`s still doesn`t release the ball quick enuff and in rhythm. He has done a better job of creating and getting on the end of things in the box but for a player of his talent, he should be doing WAY more than he`s doing now but slow and steady, he is improving.

11 Mar 2016 10:02:18
Well I did get the DDG single handed part of my prediction right ha. Seriously guys well done. Fully deserved your win. For me it's tie over, I don't see United winning by enough of a margin. I'll wave at you guys as you leap frog using the league aswell 😢.

Believable20 Unbelievable0

11 Mar 2016 10:25:35
Fair play to you for coming on here after last nights performance. Pity some of your fans resorted to singing a couple of songs that don't belong at a football match. whoever you get as the next manager (Mourinho) has a bit to do to make you competitive but you have got a couple of good players to start with. Will Degea stay? you need him to stay. I won't wish you good luck but again I say fair play for coming on here and being honest.

11 Mar 2016 10:32:07
Liverpool rarely do things easy so I don't think it's over just yet 🙈 having said that I fancy us for an away goal which would kill it off.

11 Mar 2016 10:53:53
Fair play for coming on here, don't think anyone's counting chickens just yet though - who scores first will make a massive difference next game.

Swap you for De Gea anytime. what a game he had (again)

11 Mar 2016 11:34:12
Well credit where it's due, you guys swamped us and if not DDG I dunno what the score would have been. Will he stay? Hmmm maybe if it is Jose next but the lure of Real and the transfer fee for him might see him leave. Your right tho we need a rebuild again, we've some good players playing in tactics that obvs don't suit.
From your perspective tho Klopp and your team seem to be getting better and better, a few signings yourself in the summer and you could be back up there too, here's hoping we see you in the top few next season.

11 Mar 2016 13:06:38
I think one takeaway from Klopp is a good coach with a vision beats constant rebuilding anyway. Utd have the bones of a good squad, nothing wrong with this side in a 4-3-3

DDG
Rojo, Smalling, Jones, Blind
Schneiderlin, Carrick, Mata
Valencia, Martial, Depay

Subs Herrera, Schweinsteiger, Darmian. Shaw and Janusaz will be back next season.

You definitely need another class striker as Rooney is past it IMO and Fellaini shouldn't be anywhere near a Man Utd side

Personally though I hope you keep Van Gaal another couple of years.

11 Mar 2016 12:51:35
Fair play Welsh Red devil your a credit to the club. Can I ask you a question. Would you like Jose in or someone else?

11 Mar 2016 13:48:50
I think DDG is gone in the Summer. Madrid will come calling again.

11 Mar 2016 14:01:42
Fair play Welsh, as well. The game tie is DEFO NOT over as the first goal at OT will be crucial as someone already mentioned. We have won the battle. It now time to win the war.

11 Mar 2016 10:27:14
That was a shambolic approach to the game from UTD. West ham on Sunday followed by Liverpool on Thursday and then derby away.
That could possibly end all three of FA, EL and Top 4 for you. You should have done a lot more than yesterday.

12 Mar 2016 07:52:47
Barry, personally yeah be any Jose, think he's a top manager, will galvanise the players and attract the top players we need. I think he plays better football than some United fans give him credit for, he is abrasive but then so was Fergie, more of a case we need Jose tbh and we have to get the next appointment right.
Well hopefully not Ohio but I just don't see us winnigby such a margin, something we've barely done all season.
DX your right that week will define our season.

11 Mar 2016 09:58:24
Really pleased with our game last night, and really saddened that some stupid Man utd supporters chanted what they did, but we drowned the losers out.

Ed01 if you are free what's your opinion on Flanagan currently as a player and (if he should stay fit) do you see him being possibly one of the best defenders the club has had for many years?

I think if he can stay fit he has the mental strength, attitude, deseire, ability and passion to be an amazing player. If ha should have a healthy career i think in 3-5 years he will be one of the best we ever had.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - he is the best full back at the club, when he is at his best. I want to see him given the chance to get back to his best over the next season or two. We have missed him badly while he was out injured.}

11 Mar 2016 10:55:48
Agreed, although it's a close call with Clyne who's been very solid last few weeks. Clyne and Flanno should be our first choice pairing IMO.

11 Mar 2016 11:41:48
I absolutely love Flanno but do you all think he is a player Klopp sees for the long term? I worry he doesn't. I think Ed001 is right currently he is our best full back at the club but i do see Klopp using him only in certain games- 'Horses for courses'

10 Mar 2016 22:33:29
Ed, what's the story with Allen? Is he gone in the summer? I just think he's grown in the last few months, done very well since jk come in.

11 Mar 2016 08:50:28
Last night’s excellent performance got me thinking about possible reasons behind Lallana’s improved form.

I feel a lot of it is down to Can and Henderson developing an understanding together and covering for Moreno and him.
It’s allowed Lallana to have more of an impact further up the pitch. In defence it’s allowed him focus on pressing up the pitch as he no longer has to ensure he covers for Moreno’s poor positioning or when he bombs forward.
While in attack he can now play with more freedom. He no longer has to take plenty of touches ensuring me make the perfect pass or retains possession. Can and Hendo are there to cover so he is free to express himself and play a riskier/ earlier ball.

Btw, does anyone know what’s happened to Bobatron? I enjoyed his reviews and thoughts on our play….

Believable1 Unbelievable2

11 Mar 2016 17:46:14
Enforced absence by bob himself, can't remember why he said he would not be posting, maybe the ticket price thing but don't quote me on that.

11 Mar 2016 08:17:48
That was one of the best performances this season.

Thanks to the fans for creating that special atmosphere, thanks to the players and thanks to Klopp.

Now we need to be even better at OT.

11 Mar 2016 08:12:18
Ed if you don't mind me asking. what's the differance between a manager and a head coach?
Cheers.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - varies from club to club, but the main difference is the input into signings. A manager will be in charge of the scouting and signings, as well as the coaching side of the club. A head coach normally has little to no input into the signings, certainly never the final say over them.}

11 Mar 2016 10:28:50
So basically, the Head coach just coaches?

{Ed001's Note - sets tactics, informs those responsible for the signings what kind of players he wants. Some will develop coaching strategies for the whole club, down to youth level.}

11 Mar 2016 11:33:34
Cheers ed. I only ask because if rumours are true, benitez will be manager of Newcastle. So basically he wants full control.

{Ed001's Note - Rafa likes to have control. That was the main issue he had at Liverpool the constant power battle.}

11 Mar 2016 11:45:45
Cheers ed. Appreciate ya time.

{Ed001's Note - it should not be an issue at Newcastle anyway, they allowed McClaren to pick the January signings.}

11 Mar 2016 12:00:50
Last question honest.
I feel for some reason benitez could do well at newcastle. I feel he can maybe prove a point there, by taking a relegation threatened team to at least mid table if not higher.
How do you think he will fair there?
Cheers again.

{Ed001's Note - without Pako Ayesteran he is half the manager he was with him. I think he is on a hiding to nothing, Newcastle are an embarrassment and it will take a miracle, not a manager. He will need luck more than skill to get the Toon out of the mess they are in.}

11 Mar 2016 12:24:42
Yeah good ppint ed. I always forget about pako. Cheers man.

{Ed001's Note - you are very welcome mm.}

11 Mar 2016 08:04:59
I rememebered a day ago 1 of the guys commented on how David de gea brings his best when playing against us, oh my God what a talent the boy is. Was the difference between 2-0 and what could have been 5- 0. i'd love the Eds opinion if possible on these following points I have noticed in the last few games.

1: Emre Can and Hendo seem to be developing such an understanding, on several occasions I noticed that 1 attacks the other will hold, am I running ahead of myself by suggesting that on current form this best CM combinition in the EPL?

2:Can the same be said about Sakho and Lov, its great to see the comminincation and organisation displayed by both, a number of times 1 would cover for the other when attacking the ball.

3: Could the return of Flanno been the reason of both our full backs improving ( if they have improved)

4: Do you think we neeed to add 1 besides a goalie to current squad ( 1st 11) or would you prefer Klopp to stick with what he has and save the club some cash. Personally if we could trim the squad down a bit, give fringe players runs in the team and let Klop work with what we have i'd be pleased.

kind regards.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - 1. On current form, then the best CM pairing has to be Drinkwater and Kante, basically though it could be Kante and A. N. Other really, as he is worth 3 players on his own at times.

2. Too early to judge them as a partnership. They need to stay fit first.

3. Yes.

4. We still need a left back as well as a keeper. Personally I think we need a centre back as well, as Sakho and Lovren can not be relied upon to stay fit.}

11 Mar 2016 14:17:31
I think that`s why we have Matip coming in, right?

11 Mar 2016 07:36:06
I thought Allen was fantastic last night, what a revival under Klopp. I'd love to see him start a few games and see what he's like for a full match but who do you drop, thoughts lads?

Believable12 Unbelievable0

11 Mar 2016 07:46:10
I think one of the reasons he's been so good is that he is a sub. Keep him there for now.

11 Mar 2016 08:05:50
Yeah i thought he was good last night also. United looked to be getting back into it a little, so Klopp changed it and brought on the welsh Xavi and we battered them again after that it seemed.

Also for the first time having both Lallana and Allen on the pitch looked productive. Allen was doing well defensively and Lallana had a really good game. He seems to have found a nice bit of form the last few games. I've been fairly critical of him this season but i have to give him credit. You can definitely see him playing more positively atm. That said the whole team does in fairness!

Great game last night! Shame Degea had such a good game we might of had a couple more! I was gutted for Phil on that chance should have buried it on his left peg! But we got the win never the less!
YNWA.

11 Mar 2016 08:07:34
He does well as a sub, I don't see him replacing Hendo or Can any time soon though.

11 Mar 2016 10:40:46
He's no longer the Welsh Xavi. He has transformed into Joe Pirlo 😉.

11 Mar 2016 07:12:20
Few thoughts from last night

1) The side is looking fairly settled now Klopp knows his players, with consistent selections from week to week and it's starting to pay. particularly pleasing is the growing Can/ Hendo partnership (and Can starting to really direct the game from deep midfield) and Coutinto/ Firmino/ Llalana link up play.

2) Firmino is on his way to becoming a beast! lots of credit to Klopp for playing him at striker when he first came in, it did his confidence a world of good, and his runs into the box are those of a true finisher now. Add in his creativity in open play and I'd pick him over anyone else in the PL right now.

3) Back 4 also solid, Clynes ability to shut down pacy wingers is under appreciated, just needs to improve his crossing and could be a real mr dependable for years to come.

4) Who else in the world would have taken off Sturridge for Allen. seriously. the mind boggles. What a master stroke and completely settled the game at a point we were starting to risk giving them too much possession and a way back in.

5) Nice to see Ojo rewarded with a spot in the bench for his hat rock in the u21's, hope we score another 2 at old Trafford and we give the lad a run.

Fantastic game - up the Reds!

Sakho still a liability in my opinion.

11 Mar 2016 07:34:27
Sahko was great last night.

11 Mar 2016 07:47:15
The only thing about sakho that is a liability is his fitness record.

11 Mar 2016 08:04:38
The kop don't chang your nane for no reason!

11 Mar 2016 08:06:23
Thought that was one of Clynes best performances to be honest.

11 Mar 2016 08:06:37
I still do not fancy moreno. He is totally unaware of any offensive threat by opp team as a defender.

11 Mar 2016 08:10:30
Totally agree Zimbo, by the best partnership. They seem to have grown an understanding that compliments them both. Can potential is scary.

11 Mar 2016 09:02:45
Sakho scares the life out of me but he is so confident in his own ability I am learning to trust him to be fair I think he's more scared what klopp would do if he did make a mistake haha.

11 Mar 2016 15:48:19
Sakho had only one mistake in that game yesterday when he fluffed his clearance and almost lounged into Mata. Otherwise, he brought the ball out of the defense gracefully, supported the attack very much, had a good range of passing, and overall dominant. I think he's getting more confident by the day. I can't believe some of the criticisms here to be honest!

11 Mar 2016 06:56:37
I would just like to say Lallana was quality again last night and is now showing he can be part of future plans. Great team performance. Same again next week. Y. N. W. A.

11 Mar 2016 07:45:25
I wonder if its due to his extended run in the side, his own confidence or the confidence in those around him (or all three) - but he's come on leaps and bounds lately.

11 Mar 2016 11:06:57
I've always liked him but he occasionally looked lost when the team wasn't playing well as he tended to put his head down and run into dead ends. with movement around him and him getting used to Firmino an co. he's head up, releasing the ball earlier and creating havoc.

The man is everywhere at once sometimes.

I also think his finishing is underrated, he scored some smartly taken goals and had some cracking shots saved. I get the sense he could well go on a run at some point like Firmino has.

11 Mar 2016 04:54:14
Big thanks to all the Lads for having given us the joy of beating the Mancs. It all sums up when David De Gea was awarded the Man of The Match. We outplayed them everywhere on the pitch and should have scored 2 or 3 more goals. However I think if we replicate this performance on Thursday we will surely beat them again.

DeGea is the only reason Utd are as good as they are this season. No way would they be close to 4th as they are without him.

The points he saves.

Really on the face of it should have probably been 4-0 last night but Degea kept it to 2-0. Was really frustrating for us pool fans but he is a class keeper.

11 Mar 2016 11:07:35
Imagine if we had him and they had Migs this season.

11 Mar 2016 03:12:36
ed001 can you give us one of your great match reports mate for those of us that missed tonights brilliant win of man utd, cheers pal.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - the best win under Klopp, not just because it was so one sided, but also because it was against United and in Europe in front of worldwide TV audiences!

Mignolet, while he had little to do still made a few errors with kicking. Luckily he never had a save to make, and had little to do in general. He could have gone and sat in the Kop last night, for all the difference it would have made.

Clyne, good game, not outstanding overall, his passing is still lacking when he goes forward, but his positioning was good, only getting caught forward once that I can think of and lost the ball. Other than that he was very good, put their forwards under pressure and was a very large part of the pressure that allowed us to control the game so completely. He plays as a full back, the old fashioned full back game, where he gets forward, but not so early that it just congests the space, he gets forward to support an attack and it is becoming very important to us that we are able to let the attackers attack without tripping over the right back. Then, of course, there was his excellent one two which led to the pen, which really was a great piece of football. So that takes his game above good.

Lovren will probably never have an easier night against a Premier League side. He was able to break forward a few times to pick up the ball deep into their half when it came loose. What he had to do was excellent, but he had so little to do it is impossible to judge him. If he had not made a few forward runs, I doubt he would have broken sweat in the first half!

Sakho was excellent, shut their forwards out of the game, tried to be positive with his passing out from the back. They left him alone when he had possession and he made it count.

Moreno had a decent game, stayed a bit deeper, though he was covered very well by Can when he did charge forward, so we were not caught out.

Can was excellent, completely dominated United's midfield.

Henderson likewise with Can. Broke forward, played some key passes, and was almost the Hendo of the last few seasons that has become pivotal to our team.

Lallana showed some fantastic touches and skills at times. Most of all, he was incisive and quick. None of this turning, turning, then another turn, only to flop to the floor as an opponent runs away with the ball. Last night he got on the ball got into space and got his head up to look to play a pass quickly.

Coutinho was also very good, he did not get as much of the ball as Lallana, but he was just as incisive and they couldn't cope with him and Firmino's link up play.

Firmino was superb, constantly on the move and getting involved. They will be having nightmares about him.

Sturridge was the disappointment. But he still converted the pen. Overall poor though, he looked really sluggish and off the pace.

Overall we battered them. God it felt good!}

11 Mar 2016 04:33:10
No where near a complaint. I wish Hendo would've scored that goal from Lallana. It would have done him a world of good. And easily Lallanas best game. He has improved immensely and deserves his place. Great game.

{Ed001's Note - I forgot to mention the subs, Allen was excellent and at the centre of everything after his arrival and Origi was impressive too, though he didn't have long enough to really do much.}

11 Mar 2016 05:55:44
Allen was quality again tonight.

11 Mar 2016 06:04:55
After klopp 's arrival Allan has been very impressive when called on and for somebody who doesn't get much game time doesn't look rusty, if the player is happy to be, I would love him to stay as a squad player now. Firmino last night though just wow seems to be getting better and better every game.

11 Mar 2016 06:34:55
Agree about Clyne Ed001. Only the 3rd or 4th time i have been really impressed with him. He just needs to make performances like this more frequent. Lovren and Sakho should continue as our first choice pairing next season for more stability and a better GK at the back. LIke u said, Sturridge was the only disappointment in the game. Held on to the ball for too long at times and should have done better in the final third. Overall brilliant performance by the team but there are still areas that need attention, which will guarantee us a top4 finish next season.

11 Mar 2016 07:00:46
I thought Samson err I mean Allen was bloody fantastic when he came on chaps.

11 Mar 2016 07:22:42
Sakho played well but I don't think he was excellent. He totally missed the ball with a clearance then fell over and if Mata had gone down they would have had a penalty shout and possibly the whole outcome of the game could have been different. Sometimes in moments like that Sakho just seems to panick and he makes himself look clumsy. Yes he was better in possession but he wasn't ever really put under any pressure when he had the ball.
Personally and it's just my opinion but I think he's a weak link and will cost us goals.

11 Mar 2016 08:12:13
I want Allen to stay this summer. He had a few moments under rogers where you thought he looks decent this lad. But then never really clicked for him and was fairly poor.

In comes Klopp and he's been top notch. Like Mick said, not getting properly regular game time as a starter but never looks rusty and gets on and does the job well i think!

11 Mar 2016 08:15:59
Sakho dictated the play from deep, if you noticed anything besides the slip you would see that most of our attack started wwith him and his forward thinking.

11 Mar 2016 09:03:33
Joey Barton's analogy of Sakho was brilliant. 'Like a clown spinning plates- you think he's surely going to drop them, but somehow breaks the law of physics and never does'.

11 Mar 2016 17:16:12
Sahko was solid and his ability to pass the ball forward is amazing. If the slip is what you wanna focus on because that is the only thing he did wrong, then you know nothing about the game.

i don't think we need to buy in the summer at all if we can continue to play consistently like this. we can destroy teams with our attacking quartet. and joe allen has transformed into jesus. its a very very good squad - with depth if it keeps playing like this.

I like your optimism but we do need to strengthen this summer. If we want to challenge on all fronts, certain positions like GK and a winger need immediate attention. While i am delighted with how Klopp has us playing, the great man himself knows that we need more quality to dine with the likes of Barcelona and Bayern.

11 Mar 2016 07:32:02
true i meant to say we don't need wholesome changes like few fellow fans have said on these pages. probably the only place we have to invest heavily is in a goal keeper. i personally think wingers department can be solved within the squad from ojo ibe markovic canos kent. So it can be seen. we can certainly add one for the first team, but it doesn't have to be luxury. i think we have a good base, a good spine too. the defenders are capable individuals and good coaching will iron out their flaws. as we are continually seeing under klopp players are slowly but surely improving and team is performing. we just need consistency and we are on that path too.

11 Mar 2016 08:14:30
We need to trim down the squad a fair amount I think. Then buy a new GK and a winger.

Couldn't really say about any other areas.

With Ings to come back strikers looks fine, We have loads of CM and CB.

I guess depending on Moreno if he improves defensively or not maybe a LB if he does get sold.

He looked good against UTD, he does make stupid challenges and gets caught out of position, but you have to love his pace, Easily caught up to Depay last night when he was on that fast break!

As usual. The previous game I miss was on valentine day the 6-0 defeat of aston villa? And today I was too tired and couldn't wake up for this match. Mind you it was 4am from where I live. I'm 99% sure I'm a bad luck charm now. Should limit myself to not watch game from now on.

I know how you feel mate, the games I've missed this season has been last night, 3-0 over Man City and 6-1 over Soton!

11 Mar 2016 08:32:33
@ RageReds and hijikle : No no. you guys have to definitely watch the next one.

Maybe if you had watched last night we would have won 4 nil :)

We need all the support we can get.

PS : Cup final vs city. I watched the entire match but didn't watch the penalty shoot out, . look what happened. So now I watch everything without fear.

11 Mar 2016 14:27:41
Thanks pankaj as much as I don't want to jinx it, I can't brought myself not to watch them. Everytime I miss a match, I hate myself a little. Even if it's a boring draw.

I know you're not the biggest fan ed1,
But Christ, what a difference having a proper right back makes! Clyne best in the league right now? Incredible tonight.
Emre and Lallana also brilliant and everyone bar Mignolet really (and even he didn't have anything to do) .
So proud. YNWA.

I'm really glad we got clyne because we have not got a decent right back for a few years now. Although he's not a world class right back but he's decent enough and usually get the job done.

11 Mar 2016 05:07:03
I thought clyne did really well last night, made some cracking runs which weren't always noticed by other players.

Shame we couldn't get another but the 2 goals should be enough to see us through.

11 Mar 2016 07:18:34
Competition from Flanno has helped him. When he's up to full speed I expect Flanno to take the left back starting place.

11 Mar 2016 00:29:31
I was at Anfield tonight wow what a night great noise from the croud! Firmino is on fire, love him! It's a shame united fans had to stoop so low, will Fellaini get retrospective? Bring on old Trafford!

If hendos challenge earnt him a yellow card surely screech should of picked up 3/ 4 for some of his sunday league challenges let alone the elbow to Can.

11 Mar 2016 07:58:49
Haven't watched the game. what did the man utd fans do?

11 Mar 2016 08:06:33
Sang "the sun was right you're murderers"

11 Mar 2016 08:17:27
I can't believe Fellani didn't get sent off, He's always been a dirty player and should have been booked sooner and then off for that challenge at the byline. can't remember who it was on.

Ref was good throughout the game except a few of Fellanis challenges i thought should have been booked a lot sooner and then off.

Hey eds, just wondering, will there be another draw made after this round in the Europa league? Or was that draw made already in the last round? I can't remember seeing if there was or not. Thanks.

Must say I've been impressed with lallana lately. Other than his tireless work and passion he seems to have got rid of the habit of taking too many touches! It was all 2 touch and getting rid of it, both tonight and the game against palace. Another massive improvement that has benefited the club. Long may it continue! Great win tonight btw.

looks a lot more dangerous now with the ball.

signs of good coaching no?

11 Mar 2016 07:20:25
It is a sign of good coaching because instead of trying to beat 3 men he looks for the early ball.
You only need to beat 3 men if there is no early ball on.

11 Mar 2016 00:38:00
Great match with so many great moments but one of my favorites was Allen bossing Fellani in the center of the pitch to win a header. That dodgy muppet tried to roll lil Joe over and he was having none of it. Pure class.

Joey had Fellani in his pocket. But lads you can't expect anything less from the welsh Xavi/ Pirlo ;)
