Gordon West, goalkeeper at Everton Football Club died today aged 69 years. Great keeper and Evertonian. Was playful with, and highly respected by the Kop at Anfield.
MikeinUSA

Was that the goalie that someone jumped out of the Kop and gave a handbag to !?
The Real KB

R.I.P, Gordon West YNWA.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

RIP Gordon West...part of the Reds versus Blues derby folklore....

Nothing to do with football, but that mature contacts advert company who advertise on this site really need to get a better model. I can't believe they get any hits of it. {Ed002's Note - It is Ed007 - I will have a word.}

I thought it was a man in drag, shes well ugly

phil

It's not Ed007, Ed002 mate. I've seen his/her profile and he/she looks like Susan Boyle. Or 'Subo' as he/she likes to be called. Especially on the weekends.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

She does it for me

Must be something to do with your own browsing history top poster ;0)
Piddy.

Here here..... that picture has actually made me think twice about coming on this site. Especially at work and in front of the Missus!! Shocking!

Red G

That one with the milk bottle glasses? I thought that ad was a joke. Is someone here gonna own up to clicking on it, she must float someones boat, own up chaps..

Liverpool should of signed Huntelaar for last season. He would have teamed up well Suarez and would have fitted well with the style of football Dalglish tried to introduce.

Do you have a time machine?

11 Jun 2012 23:24:57
Liverpool are apparently after Sturridge dependant on his Summer GB Olympic perfromances.....

11 Jun 2012 23:17:29
I believe Liverpool will sign
Milner 15.5m
Tello 8.1m
Sturridge 15m
Siggerson 7m
Diame free

And will sign some more

What do u think edds
Ps. Great job on the site

11 Jun 2012 23:12:03
Jonjo Shelvey being sold to Villa, Practically a done deal. Just dotting i's and crossing t's

His name has neither i's nor t's, and i doubt it'd take him more than a second or two to sign his own name...

Voronin looks leaner and more mobile than he ever did with us... What do they serve at Melwood canteen!

Scouse.

Redjinal

Lets re-sign him!

11 Jun 2012 22:55:29
HI Eds,

I would like to know your opinion on the areas we need to strengthen on as we look to offload some players and also loan out {Ed002's Note - Right wing, striker are the two critical positions for me. Then replacements for those leaving where there is no upcoming cover.}

Diame as back up for lucus plus sell spearing

11 Jun 2012 22:52:14
Nick Powell will agree a deal with United later this week, so one less player to harass the eds about.

Also another player we miss out on... I was actually hope for a 250-300 player squad this coming season. Will the let-downs never let up?

Red7.

11 Jun 2012 22:47:53
Just seen that according to Mirror we are being linked with Solomon Kalou: Please tell me this is not true as I do not rate the player. In fact if this is the type of player we are looking at I have serious worries for next season.

Yea - why on earth would we want a 26 year old International who in the last 6 years has won 4 FA Cup, 1 CL, 1 League Cup and 1 Premier League medals. Lets go for untried and unproven players instead, ones that have never won anything and have not played at this level.

Get real - the lad still has a lot to offer, and would probably love to prove Chelsea are wrong, and being released by Chelsea is no disgrace with the cash they are spending at the moment.

John B

Why do you need the Ed's (or anybodyelse for that matter) to tell you that something you've read in a Red top isn't true!?

dd

And it's because of people like you that Anfield had no atmosphere last season and why we dropped so many points at home.

Elm looked good at times tonight? How serious is our interest? Who else interested? And how much would he cost?
John h

Regardless of what people say on here! your right he did show some good touches and made some great runs in a very ordinary Swedish side.

11 Jun 2012 22:24:50
no question really, just saying that i'd be more than happy to come out of this summer with:
Jovetic or Sturridge
Matty Phillips or A Johnson or Elm
Ramirez or Affelay
(any chance of ramires of Chelsea? - a question in the end.) {Ed002's Note - None.}

Testament to the lad you have there, Ed002. Ramires was a steal at whatever price you paid for him.

McSnuggles

I think he's referring to gaston ramires but spelt his surname wrong.... {Ed002's Note - "of Chelsea".}

11 Jun 2012 22:23:59
Just watched the game between Ukraine and Sweden. Our old friend Voronin had a decent first half and of course scored with two brilliant srikes.Looking at the younger players, Yarmolenko had quite a good game, but the young player who impressed me the most was Yevhen Konoplyanka playing in the left midfield area, very sililar in style to Eden Hazard, in my opinion. I was so annoyed when Hazard signed for Chelsea, but this guy would seem to be as good, brilliant close control, can use both feet. Would fit into Brendan's plan perfectly. What do you think ?
Northern Git

Are you sure you watched the game, cos voronin didn't score

11 Jun 2012 22:23:44
I really think liverpool should sign that ukrainian player with the full arm tattoo. MRed

11 Jun 2012 22:20:44
Even if we do sign Tello we'll get him for about 2 years and he'll go back to Barca on the cheap since he'll have something in the contract that allows him to go back for a minimal amount.

BthekingB

Then lets get 2 good years, your pint must always be half empty

Sell him back for 30 million like fabregas

11 Jun 2012 22:19:37
Not a rumour, just my humble opinion - I really, really hope we're not seriously interested in Elm after his display tonight. He was absolutely woeful. Wonder what our scouts ever saw in him. I've seen him in a few games previously. He'd be a complete waste of money!!!

You know he was played out of position right

11 Jun 2012 22:15:55
I don't have a Gardner friend that works for one the players or the manager, an educated guess and realistic wishes leads me to these departures and arrivals
Kuyt £1mil
Maxi free
Cole £4mil
Aquillani £4mil
Spearing £4mil
Shelvy loan

arrivals

Elm - £6mil
Luuk Dejong - £12mil
Gatson Ramirez £15mil
Affellay £6mil

That is the quality a £25mil spending will bring to the club

Miccmak

Forget elm and take Diame on a free and sell spearing and that's a good summer

11 Jun 2012 22:04:46
I was really impressed by Elm today. I thought he was just another YouTube star. But his long passes are inch perfect and he had some good intelligent runs to the box. I think he is better many of the midfielders we have at liverpool. Adam, Spearing, Hendrson.
if we buy for the reported £6M, am telling you, it will be the bargain of the season.
Young Xabi alonso with more pace

Miccmak

Trust me he is not up to much one decent season in holland

Your right Elm looks a real good player, take no notice of all the disagrees? on here that's probably a real good pointer to him being a good player.

11 Jun 2012 22:01:24
Fresh news from Croatia, Mario Mandzukic not bound for Lokomotiv Moscow, manager Ivan Cvjetkovic says. Also says: "Mario is born for premiership"..."we have interest from two great premiership clubs"

Could one of these be Liverpool?

Could be scottish premiership.

11 Jun 2012 21:38:15
Hi ed's great site. Any news on more staff to come in to work on BR's "technical board" or might he just use what was already there plus his guys from Swansea? Talk seems to have gone quiet on this since the press conference. Cheers. {Ed002's Note - Nothing.}

11 Jun 2012 21:45:09
who are liverpool most likely to sign Sturridge or Johnson ? :P

thanks

11 Jun 2012 21:43:06
Elm looked good at times tonight? How serious is our interest? Who else interested? And how much would he cost?
John h

So did schevchenko but cant see us making a bid for him lol no idea how chelsea wasted them talents while he was there

I thought Elm looked good tonight too, a midfield triangle of Elm-Gerrard-Lucas could be very good.

He's signing for Schalke.
I'd prefer to have Sigurdsson anyway.

I must have been watching a different game, as I thought he was distinctly average. A few nice long range passes apart, I know its only one game but didn't really impress me.

RedSG

Were you watching the same game , a dutch elm would have been more effective , he was rubbish

He was played out of position I believe ... so tricky to tell what he has to offer on tonight's performance.

Sigurdsson is proven in the EPL so rather we bought him instead

11 Jun 2012 21:38:54
Hope to god we don't sign elm! He is so lazy, never wants the ball and walks round the pitch like the world owes him something. Eds, any updates on potential signings? Boudebouz? Soldado? Sigurdsson? I know you will say "search function" but we haven't had an update for a while. No sarcastic answers please.

Lee the red {Ed016's Note - not going to make something up out of thin air to please you mate. Nothing new since yesterday.}

11 Jun 2012 21:33:29
I said in. December / January luuk de jong would not sign but watch for the midfielder and ed016 start to go into maths about it ed16 luuk did not sign but the young midfielder did texeira . Luuk will not sign for Liverpool nor will sturridge or kalou and glen johno will stay

So, just to clarify, do you think Luuk De Jong will sign for us?

Redjinal

This is ridiculous! Well I'm gonna go out on a limb and predict that messi won't sign but watch out for a striker of some sort that we will sign.
Jason

11 Jun 2012 21:25:35
Ed hearing a lot of talk about llorente coming from these parts 38 million euros. Apparently villa was / is first choice but llorente seems to be picking up pace now. B.R will be given funds as longs he cuts wage bill and offloads some deadwood. Id expect spearing, cole, aqua man and doni to go. Kuyt and maxi already gone....

I didn't read it right at first lol i thought you meant he was going to villa couldn't stop laughing till i realised it was me been numb lol

11 Jun 2012 21:25:35
hey eds, PLEASE can you answer this. how much money do liverpool have to spend. dont they get extra for winning the carling cup. {Ed016's Note - Not very much from the Carling Cup. No one knows. It's not smart to walk in when buying a car and saying "I have this much to spend" if you get what I mean.}

I think the Carling Cup brought in around £1m in prize money, added to the revenue generated on match days.

I'm sure FSG will support Rodgers in the transfer market, with sensible spending. I'm expecting more people to leave than to come in

RedSG

11 Jun 2012 21:17:23
Hi ed is there a good chance of tello coming to us

{Ed016's Note - Alright here is what I have heard so far and seen. We were linked slightly in January I believe, perhaps before that though in some sort of a loan move. Obviously Tello gained more game time at Barca since then. Then the rumours died down. Since he played those games I haven't heard anything. Today one "news" outlet released a story claiming that Barca are offering Tello to Liverpool at around the 10 million euro mark. HOWEVER, this was reported by Caugh Offside. Personally I don't believe a word they print, as do many other people. They have based this story off of the fact we had previously had "interest" even though that wasn't even concrete in the first place.}

The fact that caughtoffside reported the story, has entirely convinced me this isn't happening, they are so wrong, and everything is always SO obviously fabricated that when i hear a rumour of theirs, i know not to expect anything.

Uh-huh..that wont do Ed.. you gotta break it down for these guys.. "HE'S NOT COMING"

11 Jun 2012 21:16:34
Eds, who do you think will win the Euros? {Ed016's Note - Hey, there is a Euro page. But I'm immersed in the Euros currently, got a fair amount of time off work this week, been enjoying two games a day. Really enjoying the current Ukraine Sweden game. The atmosphere sounds incredible. I think we could have a surprise this year. It seems to be anyone's tournament. All the teams look pretty average, a little luck, a little motivation could do all these teams some good. I think it will be Germany most likely. But just watching the end of the game, Ukraine have a massive momentum going forward.}

11 Jun 2012 20:58:26
Heard we are after the blonde bloke think his name is voronin, would be a good signing, would look better woth long hair though.....

11 Jun 2012 20:39:04
Really hope we get gylfi,oh and tello would be a tremendous signing also,as for adam johnson i think he would fit right in but 12m would be all we should pay for him, affelay also looked a class act for the dutch the weekend,am i dreaming thinking we can attract these players eds??great site by the way it takes over my life once the transfer window opens..

RED4EVER

You are dreaming sadly!

This is how I figure it out, imagine the players who would be superb and ask yourself "would they sign for Fulham" if the answer is no then substitute Fulham for LFC and you will get the same answer.

Top top established talent we are not a big draw. SAD BUT TRUE .Our scouts are gonna have to work alot harder.

We dont have the money or the current pedigree to go for top market players.

The Fulham/Liverpool remark is absolutely way off the mark!
Even the most critical and negative at the moment would still admit that we as a club have more pulling power than fulham!
non-sense!

The only thing that is SAD BUT TRUE is we have fans like you who are so down hearted and pessimistic its unbelievable comparing us to fulham seriously mate have a word apert from the fact we can pay almost treble the wage fulham can i cant believe any reds fan would compare us to fulham your having a laugh mate

This reply is the most negative post i have ever seen on here,if you are liverpool fan which i doubt you should hang yer head in shame.

11 Jun 2012 20:38:14
Rasmus Elm?

No thanks, absolute horse caca. Making Voronin look like Messi out there.

Not good enough. Set pieces woeful too.

So from one half of a single game where he is playing slightly out of position in CDM, you've decided, in your expert opinion, that he is terrible. Have you considered that the very nature of the position that he is playing tonight means he doesn't see much of the ball? Especially in attack.

Having said that, that very same half a game has made me impressed with Toivonen.

Way to contradict yourself.

Your really quite stupid. How can you judge a player from one game? Not to mention he wasn't even played in the correct position. It's fans like you who need to support Chelsea...
AnfieldUSA

11 Jun 2012 19:59:47
could suso be as big as iniesta and sterling as big as messi?

Height wise?

Height wise I would say they are about the same

Unlikely. The two have the potential to be word class but the Barca players are something very special.

No... no one will be as big as Messi for a long time. - McMenemy

And Iniesta is an incredible player in his own right...

11 jun 2012 19:57:33
from my source liverpool will sign fernando llorente for 40m along with a shock move for frank lampard and ashley cole for 30m....fact

Leave the mushrooms alone fella, they are obviously messing your mind......

Great source

Evening eds,
This ones for 002. I'm sorry to bring it up again but have read on a few occasions that you've been getting abuse from posters because you have mentioned some targets? Does this mean that some people are not happy with you because you don't tell them pathetic lies and say we are after Cavani etc? If this is the case then you should make this site subscription only, I'm only too happy to subscribe if it stops the morons and Trolls dishing out their muck.
Please don't stop telling the truth as you guys & gals are much more enjoyable to read than the Uk media.

Hi

A lot of people have expressed an interest on my progress in my Liverpool FIFA 11 team and my brave decision to hang on to that dedicated athlete Aquilana. I have now been offered a test copy of FIFA 13 by EA and am five games in to season. In a new feature you now have to address the players at half time . I fear however I have lost the dressing room the digital SG keeps looking at me in that slit eyed addressing the nation look and keeps saying " Your the boss" and then smirking. Johnson keeps talking to digital Pepe in Spanish ( which I SPEAK thank you ) and saying not long now Amigo and laughing. I think big Andy is on my side but I have my doubts if he is entirely the full shilling , "the big number on the shirt goes on the back Andy". I also have spoken to Luis about "the incident" and It appears he was sent a box set of Love thy neighbour the 70's sit com by a well wisher to learn english , the package had a Manchester post mark HA!

Agger keeps trying to draw on wall s other players arms with a felt tip so dedicated is he to compulsive tatting and Downing keeps trying to put on his Harry Potter cloak of invisibility during my team talks

The burden of leadership awaits

Very good mate keep it coming

Ed's any chance of us signing voronin, this fella looks world class!
martynlfc

The same voronin that liverpool got rid of cos he was rubbish

He could be our Ronald! The famous words of Rafa Benitez, and to think loads of you wanted him back!

Scarface

11 Jun 2012 20:14:20
Hello EDs,
how is it possible to build a good team when with every passing day I read that the chances of getting the transfer targets are slimmer (eg.De Jong). It's early days but is Liverpool trying hard enough but the players refuse, or are we just after players who are not wanted at other clubs? cheers.

De Jong is rubbish. No point in making signings for the hell of it. Only sign a player if he's better than what you've already got.

To second poster, have you seen De Jong play throughout the season? Because he is a very good striker who has a very high workrate and can score goals from both close and long range.

11 Jun 2012 20:08:07
Typical Hodgson tactics, worry more about stopping the opposition rather than what his team can do against them.
It was proved against Belgium that Young and Wellbeck are too similar and it was proved again today against France. The game was screaming out for Carroll, England needed someone strong up front who could hold up the ball to allow the midfield to push up and support play, Wellbeck and Young didn't do this once all game.
Carroll on to play against Mexes would have proved a great out for the midfield as Carroll would have been far too much for him.

Scarface

I dont know what you England fans are moaning about. England are nota great team and they dont have the players to pass the ball well like most Euroean teams. So Hodgson is making them hard to beat! 2 holding players in front of the back 4 is hard to break down. With the plsyers Hodgson has he has got it spot on. Chelsea won a Champions League playing the same way and im sure most fans wont complain if the come home with the trophy.

But the thing is Hodgson won't bring home the trophy. He will deploy exactly the same tactics against Ukraine and Sweden instead of realising that against lesser teams you can be more expressive in terms of creative freedom and attacking prowess. It was something he never quite grasped at Liverpool and it looks just the same so far for England.
Ok England don't have the best players in the world but then neither did Swansea but that didn't stop them playing free flowing, attacking football. Just because you don't have Barca's squad doesn't mean you have to put 10 men behind the ball. England have better players than to just park the bus and hope to sneak a goal and hold onto it.
By the way I'm not an England fan, I'm Welsh, this is just an opinion.

Scarface

Hi eds I doubt this will get posted but I will try no disrespect to any of the eds but I have not seen any concrete information from any of u surly by now we have some definate interest in sum1 and if you are have so many contacts Wers the info like I said no disrespect meant but cum on cheers inpatient red {Ed016's Note - LOL we don't say we have any contacts mate.}

Looking forward to watching Rasmus Elm. Seen very little of him.

Stone YNWA. {Ed016's Note - Might be good to keep an eye on him ;-) }

Thought he was signig for Schalke?

He's going to schalke

Upon reflection of the first half, it's the same old story. He wouldn't be an improvement on what we've got.

Ozone

Plus, I spoke with some of the Scandinavian lads in the pub before one of the games towards the end of last season, they weren't very complimentary about Elm.

Ozone

Deal already agreed with Schalke

^ Thank god!

11 Jun 2012 19:26:01
why dont we jus swap aqualini to sum italian club n get a good player for 2 0r 3 million
ac milan
milos krasic swap aqualini +3 mill
fiorentina
08 mill +stevan jovetic or
4 million + juan mauel vargas
as roma
fabio borini
udinese
4mill+mauricio isla or
4 million+mehdi benatia or
swap with pablo armero
bologna
11 mill + gaston ramirez
naopli
3 mill+ gokhan inler

It's as easy as that! We are talking top trumps here aren't we?

Nick

Sounds a bit desperate mate

You think we could get jovetic for 8 million plus aqua?? are you off your rocker? jovetic will cost 20-30 million easy to anyone who gets him and i would very much doubt it would be us (as much as i would like to get him)

It's not even that easy of Football Manager now, let alone real world. Player swaps don't happen these days.

11 Jun 2012 19:25:40
my friend and i was talking about the future and the fact that we are rebuilding our team atm, and we came across the tought off possibly of loading reina, to gain some more funds, seeing how there seems to be alot of good young keepers out there atm, wich surely would be close to the same level and alot cheaper.

Its were talking, not 'was' talking. Its thought of, not 'tought off'. Try off loading rather than 'of loading'. Other than that, you make an interesting point.

Bigbadben

Also, you mean 'a lot' rather than 'alot'....

If you think finding a goalkeeper as good as Reina is simple, you are deluded.

Keeper is the most difficult position to master in football.

If you feel the need to preach to others about spelling then you also need to know that it is ''it's'' and not its. Or you could realize that this is a Liverpool banter site and not an English exam and shut the f**k up!
MR EM

Big bad Ben.

If your going to be a grammar Nazi, you need a better name mate. Leave it out with the spelling corrections.

YNWA! (Adam)

Spelling lessons now is it? Sort your head out helmet.

DaveyBootle

Once again goin on about spelling an not there point hate that just read the text! Spelling isn't everything, people who point it out usually havnt got a clue about football!
Kp(don't care about my grammar !!!)

Bad day at the office. Didnt mean to be a grammar nazi. Love you all too.

BigBadBen

Just following this thread - I have been known, only once or twice and usually to someone who has abused me,to correct a spelling or grammatical mistake but I make a determined effort to overlook this stuff normally. However I note that KP says that people who do correct spelling mistakes usually don't know anything about football?? Trying to follow the logic - is he saying you have to be thick to know anything about football?

Puzzled

Everyday I wake up I go on a LFC rumour-room,I see a lot of Liverpool fans clamouring for 'Big Names'. I thought by now we would have learnt our lesson with the Torres-Chelsea scenario. There you have a £50m player underperforming. It seems a lot of us just want names and not ability. To them any player who doesn't cost £20m and above is average or crap. I was shocked to see a lot of people in an LFC forum criticising the possiblity of LFC signing Sigurdsson stating that Chelsea are buying stars and we are buying the likes of Sigurdsson. They were clamouring for Gaston Ramirez and Christian Erikssen. Here you have a player scoring 7goals in the EPL showing that he can adapt and at a very small fee of 7m,we'd want someone who is yet to come into the EPL,who we don't know would adapt, who in the full season could not score even up to the goals Sigurdsson scored in 4months. Am really disappointed. Some section of fans now seek to criticise the owners by saying they dont back the manager for big money moves. Moves like-£35m for Caroll,20m for Henderson,23.8m for Suarez and 20m for Downing. What would you call such an outlay? Small money? You can say the moves were mostly funded by sales but the in the previous era,you dnt even get to spend what you bring in. You guys are just after some sugar daddy to spend lavishly and that is not the LFC way. We dnt buy stars,we make them. For me Mattias Suarez,Sigurdsson,Affelay,A.Johnson/Boudebouz would be ok for me.

Completely agree.

We spent 100 million, and we were played off the park by Swansea, who spent about one tenth of that.

I suspect most of the "we want Cavani or FSG out!" types know little or nothing about the game.

Thats because the team v swansea did not try

Long ball football is dead and buried, but we still see England flogging that dead horse.
Boring, predicable and wasteful tonight.
Bring on tiki taka.
But I did have a fiver on 1-1 so I'm £30 richer :)

MIKEY {Ed016's Note - They did it and didn't even have Carrol to aim at. Everytime they booted it up field it was wasted possesion and had to start chasing the ball again as opposed to controlling the game, the speed and the play rather than parking the bus and relying on a bit of luck or a set piece. I am with you, bring on the pass and move.}

Even my girlfriend who never watches football was asking why we keep kicking it out of defence up the field to someone to chase, and for it to either go out or go back to France.
"The England players are going to be knackered legging it after all these passes"
If she can see how bad it is then we really are in trouble.
Pass and move needs to be taught to all our youngsters in england, hopefully Liverpool get a bit of success out of it and it catches on.
Roy hodgson is a terrible coach, miles behind the times.
MIKEY

Roy was never going to turn them into Brazil! HR would have got the job if not for his tax case.
Lee73

Quality Mikey!

Still laughin now as I type.. Mad innit..

Alfie

"hopefully Liverpool get some success out of it and it catches on" yeah Mikey cos no ones ever played pass and move football before

I think Sturridge and lukaka from Chelsea for me would be a good combined fee if 30 mil as well as Powell under the noses of man utd for 8 mil and give sterling a chance aswell

Sell Adam, downing, auqa and spearing for 25mil and loan out Shelvey, coady and Wilson for experience.

Nick Powell is 100% signing for Man United

hey eds, just heard a rumour that lfc representatives have held talks with christian tello's agent, is there any truth to this.
Ive also heard that the gaston ramirez deal is back because he plays that style of football that Bredan Rogers plays "is it just b.s ?"
On another note keisuke honda scored a hatrick against jordan couple days ago; since manchester united brought kagawa whats our chances of signing honda.
{Ed002's Note - I don't know of talks but there may be interest. Honda has been a target on and off for 18 months - it seems the boat may have sailed without him.}

11 Jun 2012 15:36:56
Don't know about "Tiki-taka"

We need to spread more and use the wings and our wingers need to be aggressive.

When Downing ran at the opposition and took the game on then defenders came out and space was made. He didn't do it often enough despite the fact he did put a lot of good balls in.

So he needs a little more aggression/confidence and our right winger has to be able to do the same.

It's quite rare for an English team to play with 2 outside wingers

Hi Eds, I'd like to join the many in thanking you for all the fantastic work you do in keeping this site going. You certainly don't deserve any grief.

However, having said all that I am going to give you grief for the 'mature dating uk' advert linked to this site, and the hideous hideous picture of the lass in black sitting on the end of her bed that we're all having to endure! Really is making me feel quite unwell :-)

I really do apologise if that is a pic of one of the Eds though, looking for a new social life! You deserve a nice evening out somewhere.........

SCF27 {Ed002's Note - The ads are placed by Google. If your browsing history shows searches on Liverpool, football and holidays then they are the ads you will see. If you are placing ads such as "purple nippled exhaust queen seeks similar" then don't be upset by the mature dating ads.}

I was laughing at that earlier if you had a dating site you wouldn't put her on lol she wouldn't make any 1 want to join she looks like my wife,s sister probably is lol

Looking forward to seing the france team tonight. I know people slate hodgson but one thing he does bring to a set up is defensive unity, i believe we will be extremely hard to beat but may struggle in the goals department.

Some section of fans now seek to criticise the owners by saying they back the manager for big money moves-£35m for Caroll,20m for Henderson,23.8m for Suarez and 20m for Downing.

Bryan Francis

A team full of expensive superstars doesn't always win you leagues,it took city about 3-4 seasons, real Madrid it took countless seasons, you need quality players and 7 workers to make a proper team

11 Jun 2012 15:09:22
No doubt we will be linked with yet another reject after Eljero Elia has had his transfer request accepted by Juventus. None of the big teams will want him so i guarantee we'll be interested, Its not looking good for us in the transfer window so far, We are been linked with some awful players, well not awful, But these sort of players will not improve our first 11 and thats what we need to improve. Diame, De Jong, Sigurdsson, Moses etc will not improve us while Chelsea have snapped up Hazard and Marin and its looking like they will get Hulk, Its looking like United will get Kagawa, Powell, Willems, Lewandowski. Raging we missed out on Powell. Arsenal have Podolski who i know isnt great but id rather him over Carroll and De Jong.

I also hope its not true about Reina, Skrtel, Agger and Suarez wanting to move on. Hope we keep Reina, Skrtel and Agger but Suarez can move on for all i care, Trouble just follows him wherever he goes. James

Spanish source Sport has reported that Barcelona are willing to sell Liverpool target Cristian Tello for a fee of 10m (£8.1m).

11 Jun 2012 16:10:40
The links with sturridge concern me. Is one of the reasons he unsettled because he wants to play as the main striker? surely we cant offer him that role and he is not the clinical forward we need. He wont be happy playing wide so where does Rodgers want to stick him. £15 million squid wasted on him when we have a slim budget? no thanks,as decent a player he is would prefer money spent elsewhere.

A poster lower down (replying to the conversation of Ed abuse is that a capital crime by the way?) says he doesn't sign a name - more or less because he hasn't got one to use?
Just make ANYTHING up.
My first post was on conspiracy (I think) and I asked
if the site was just for nutters (which didn't endear me to Ed001 ) and signed 'Puzzled' to demonstrate my feelings about the question.
I kept the name and am glad as it gives abusers of my posts a starting point - as not too many of them are very bright

Hey eds great site! any idea on how much BR is allowed to splash out this transfer window? {Ed002's Note - The owners will provide financial support but I would not expect vast spending.}

11 Jun 2012 15:17:31
Ed's how about a large faq section at the top of the site that covers recurring and annoying questions. Basically an unordered list of questions and when clicked on the user can basically get the canned response that you no doubt have ready to paste from a notepad file on your desktop. I feel your pain in constantly having to answer questions for numpties who are to lazy to do a simple search.

Questions like...
"Will we sign Cavanni?" > Link to canned answer
"do we have any interest in Sigurdsson" > Link to canned answer
"has Carroll cut off his ponytail?" > Link to canned answer
"yada yada yada?" > Link to canned answer

This will no doubt save your a shed load of time.

XO21 {Ed002's Note - We have tried it before. Sadly, it does not help.}

I was briefly an Ed. The coninued asking of the same question over and over and over again totally did my head in. If you think it's bad on the site you should see the sheer quantity that gets rejected. I stopped purely because of that. RED LENIN

Just seen on sly fellaini saying he wants to play champions league football or europa league, he also says if an offer comes in from an ambitious club he would take it. Do you think he is dropping hints to Liverpool that he would be happy to cross the park if we made an approach? Carlos {Ed002's Note - No.}

Why would u want him?

Because hes better than adam, henderson, spearing and shelvey and this will more than likely be gerrards last season

Because he is a very good player. He is a good CDM and a good CM

Man I love this site!! what i don't love is the same questions posted over and over and over again!

Can I please make a couple of suggestions!

1) Make the search bar at least 20 times larger and surround it with flashing lights and arrows!

and

2) Put a statement on the rumour/banter form that states to read previous posts to see if their question has already been answered.

Cheers

Danski

I dont know about the flashing lights and arrows, but i agree with number 2. or maybe put a search bar right above the form? just put like a note, to search if your question has been answered.

Kaizer

Sorry dude, being a bit sarcastic with the flashing lights and arrows comment! not sure how anyone can dislike the comment unless
- They dont even know there is a search bar!
- They do it to wind up the Eds/everyone else.
- They're to lazy to look.
- They like reading the same questions and answers everyday.
- They don't get acknowledgement in their everyday life and need a simple response such as "use search function" to validate their existance.

I really hope its not the last one because.... we'll it would just upset me.

Danski

Great Ideas , I'm on board big time .

The mad thing is, it's actually quicker to open up a tab and do a little research than it is to ask the eds a question then wait for the response. The internet is wasted on some people.

I have been reading this site for some time and I love it, absolutely love it - what a wonderful job the Editors do in keeping us all updated and entertained and Macca for supplying nuggets of pure gold !

Now, onto football matters, namely Liverpool Football Club.

I love the club, genuinely as much as I think possible to love a football club.

And now, with more than a little excitement in my typing, there are changes happening at the club - which I feel are for the good, for one this "Tiki-Taka" (which is a re-branded "pass and move") is what Liverpool are known for. Or, should I say, WERE known for because of late, because until Dalglish came we played the most turgid, boring, stagnant, controlling football I've ever watched under Houllier, Benitez and more briefly Hodgson.

Hand on heart, have you watched a Liverpool win under any of the prior named and genuinely been entertained, barring the great Euro nights or games when we have gone behind and therefore have no choice but to attack ?

I haven't. And it hurt. It hurt bad, because football, creating chances and outplaying the other side by keeping them off the ball became second to tactics, tactics and more tactics, whilst watching those bloody Gooners be entertained with some outstanding, fluent football - even in defeat.

But even though we recently had the cavalier passing football under Dalglish, our tactics were obvious in our setup and therefore easy to read by any manager with even a modicum of tactical awareness, hence Martinez.

Which is where Rodgers comes in, because he is genuinely different. He has his tactical nouse but it all evolves from his footballing morals and learning the sciences of the game. How the game should be played and how Liverpool used to play, but with modern depth.

The guy will get my full 100% support as did Mssrs Souness, Houllier, Bentiez, Hodgson but like Dalglish (x2) and Evans in between him, I shall enjoy watching the game again with more than a little optimisim that we can outplay, create and win in style once more.

It's not just the kit that's going back to our roots !!

Peace all

Phukkit

Eds have you heard anything on Dave Fallows from Manchester City bieng appointed head of Recruitment and is serving his notice period before he takes up his position at LFC. Also heard that a young finish striker (under 18) is likley to join apparently was on trial in March. {Ed002's Note - Sorry, nothing.}

11 Jun 2012 14:15:24
I don't expect much transfer activity until after the Euro Competition.

Then it will hot up.

Don't get too excited about Liverpool.

Rodgers was chosen because he can work on a small budget.

If a famous name is sold for mega bucks. Then expect a few signings.

To quote from the film 'Right Stuff' :-

"No bucks, no Buck Rogers!"

I actually think that Rodgers will have financial backing, certainly this season and that a few signings will be made.

ED002 - have not been on much for the last 24 hours or more so not too sure what has taken place but can see you have been getting verbals off some poster/s. We talked on this briefly on the Chelsea page recently and I go back to what I said then. No name-no post. I see someone has said give email addresses too - that certainly would stop abusers merely putting their stuff on under a different name each time. Surely this would solve the problem.
I would also like to raise the 'cost' matter. I for one would not be averse to being charged for using the site. Maybe a separate charge for each different club site (then the likes of myself would have to decide whether to pay the extra charges or stop pestering Chelsea and United fans). No idea how computers work let alone all the ramifications of charging but you could either have a set weekly or monthly figure OR maybe a small charge for each and every post. Some on here will say 'No we don't want to pay' - but it would do two things (a) get some recompense to the eds for the time they devote to the site..and (b) get rid of the casual poster, who is very often a visiting abuser

what say you?

Puzzled

{Ed002's Note - I cut it Puzzled, but now the vegetables are after you with abuse.}

ED002 - I care not

Puzzled {Ed002's Note - Manned up, eh?}

I never sign off any of my posts, mainly because I don't really have an online handle or identity, but if it helps weed out the retards who attack the eds, macca and the posters on here who actually have something meaningful to say then I'd be happy to think something up. The amount of ignorance and idiocy coming from a select group of people does need attention. Great post, Puzzled. And great work Eds.

Maybe free membership to the site and your name or tag is automatically placed on the bottom of each post?
Just a quick online form for your own username, I don't think the site has enough problems to be worth the change, the site works well as it is.
Besides the drivel that sometimes comes in is sometimes quite funny, and the site would become quite dead during quiet months.

MIKEY

How bout this- your ip address is given a "anonymous1+" name. Untill you sign up for a free online account you can't post over 50 words. When you sign up you have unlimited everything expect visits to other teams sites. You will be limited to like 1-2 posts on other sites?

Man oh man, how good are Douglas Costa and Georginio Wijnaldum... If we signed these two players I would be over the moon! Costa is only 21 and Wijnaldum is only 22! Eds would there be any chance at all in getting one of or both these players? These players alongside the crop we have now plus the likely chance well get Sigurdsson would e spectacular and would come fairly cheap am I right there Ed's? I'm not sure what it would be like with work permits etc if needed but very good players. I believe these players suit FSG's aim of going for younger talent rather than breaking the bank to get players like Falcao, cavani, Hulk etc. both can play right wing and behind the striker which is what we need! My fingers are crossed YNWA!

Hi Eds sorry for being boring and not throwing any transfer rumours down but cant be bothered regurgitating paper nonesense. Its been quiet on that front for a little while. {Ed002's Note - There is nothing I am aware of. I am sure that it will become clearer over the next few weeks.}

11 Jun 2012 13:10:57
I'm hoping these Eds are wrong about Johnson not joining us as I feel he's 10 times the player Downing is and would give us another attacking option. I'm glad that Barton came out and said what he did about Hendo, I too can't see how he made the Euro squad over a player like Johnson. BR will be good for the club in my opinion, I'm just hoping he has the buying savvy that Pardew possesses.

What has Johnson done to make you think he's better than Downing or Henderson - apart from getting splinters in his backside

Comparing Hendo and Johnson is apples and oranges, but to the 2nd poster, you think if Downing played for City he'd get any game time?

Red Ollie

Whether he would get more game time than Johnson will never be known, but Downings stats have always been better than Johnson's, Downing is currently an England International, Johnson isn't - there is nothing to suggest that Johnson's value has increased from his £7m move from Middlesborough. I again ask the question - what has Johnson actually done to make you think he's better than Downing? I mean, and please answer this one as well, how the hell is Milner in the England squad ahead of Johnson?

John B

Johnson can jink left or right and has an eye for goal. Downing runs in straight lines and couldn't hit a cows ass with a banjo.

Schalke boos has stated that they are after Kalou with their main rivals being..... LIVERPOOL. (Reported in the Daily Mail) Ed's/Macca, any truth in this ? I would love Kalou, good attacking player and only 26.

Must be true if its in the daily mail...

Not good enough

11 Jun 2012 13:04:31
Just noted on this site that since we have a new manager many of our players are now great players - how come? Carroll, Henderson, Downing and Adam are and will always be rubbish expensive signings. Get real.

Certain players are good depending on the formation and tactics of the manager. If a player is good offensively and is asked to play defensively that will obviously impact on his game. So yes the coach can be a factor in shaping how the player performs. Was Agger a bad player in Woy's time? No, Woy wanted him to play in a certain way that he will never be good at? You may be pleasantly surprised how good some of our current players can turn out to be, unless you are saying no other coach can better KK.

Mos

Well said, I have noticed this too. These players cannot become great players overnight. In fact I cant understand how we have so many of these so called great players in the England squad, baffling.

11 Jun 2012 12:57:06
United fan here, and no this is not a joke before you complain...

I think Gary Hooper (Celtic) would suit Liverpool down to the ground. Anybody agree?

MPez

Ive been saying this on this site since the jan transfer window

I disagree MPez mate. It's obvious you're a United fan, you clearly know nothing about football or 'soccer' as you boys like to call it. If you think Hooper is good enough for LFC.

What about Kyle Lafferty as back-up to Shrek? See you're not the only one who can tell jokes mate.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

Appreciate your comments mate but I want Soldado personally. And United are in talks with Crewe about Nick Powell, if you do get him well done. What a talent he is, but I hope you loan him straight back to Crewe or a decent Championship club.
KiwiRed

Who ever takes a chance on him is goimg to get the deal of the century

Blair, as always you're the tw*t...there is miles in difference between Lafferty and Hooper...I bet a few months ago you would have said that about Jelavic, but i'm sure you'd want him for your lot now, eh?

Gary Hooper, although I don't like to admit (Rangers follower) is one smashing player and - as no name said - who ever takes a chance on him could reap the rewards from kingdom come.

For Liverpool, I think he could be a smashing player tbh..

Ps. You only brought up Kyle Lafferty because you'e from NI ;)

Hi (ED02) I've not been on for a few days and the first post I read ,you mention being subjected to vile abuse.
I find this very disappointing but not surprising judging by some of the post I've read. Too many people wanting the EDs to tell things they want to hear.

I am surmising the posters who abused you (ED02) did not like what you were telling them about us looking at the young Brazilian kid. Am I right ? If not I apologise, I must have misinterpreted what I've just read.

I am amongst the majority of users of this site who appreciate all the efforts made by EDS and Macca.
I just hope you realise it's a tiny minority who are classless and realise most of the users on this site are at worse a pain in the arse for repetitive questions, which can be pretty annoying, but these people mean no harm.
The the way the club has waned over the years the fans are worried of further decline and are desperate for the club to sign a couple of special players. The desperation leads to frustration and when we are linked to players who are regarded as average signings by certain fans and these fans blame everybody else. I can understand their frustration, But can not excuse pig ignorant abusive individuals.
Who don't care who they offend when things don't go their way.
Anyway (ED02) I would like to say thanks and enjoy
the rest of the day.

Red Robin.

11 Jun 2012 10:53:01
@Ed002....kind of defeats the object of the site if you choose to restrict the information you glean from your contacts as a result of abuse from your comments.

The answer is simple: insist people put their name and email, if they abuse then ban them from the site,or don't publish their comments.

Why should the majority suffer because a select few are intellectually retarded. There's no excuse for abuse...difference of opinion yes, but not abuse

Marshy {Ed002's Note - The object of the site does not include mass abuse of me or the other Editors. I gave the name of one South American player that Liverpool had looked at and their was abuse - yesterday the flood gates opened with abuse again.}

11 Jun 2012 12:21:23
Eds, if we sign Sturidge, do you thinks it will be as a winger or as a striker? {Ed022's Note - I am not Brendan Rodgers.}

He will be the waterboy for 3 months. BR thinks he can learn something from 'passing' the drinks to other players.

Kaizer

Sturridge?? LOL...have you ever seen him pass? I don't want him or Kalou or any chelsea rejects!!

Killerpool

11 Jun 2012 11:59:28
Think Sigurdsson will be a great signing if we get him, 22 years old he could be great. Hendo and Carrol both young and i think they will grow into fantastic signings given time, the big man shown his class towards end of the season. We do need cover and options in the striker department, Soldado would be excellent but have we any interest in Rondon? Malaga striker been terrific this season and only 22 fits the FSG player profile. Cover for Lucas would love see Wanyama...Newcastle keeping eye on him we need swoop in. Think at the back we got a great set of players and depth in the team. Gonna be a very different season coming up and if BR can get the talent at liverpool focused, cut the deadwood and add some class and if jimmy woodwork would give us a break, maybe champs league next season....just maybe

11 Jun 2012 11:59:03
it baffles me how some of you think by selling a player all the money goes to buying more players, Liverpool is a business and if we gave all our money to buying players we wouldn't be able to pay the players and the rest of the staff so therefore would go into administration, which ironically FSG saved us from so get of their backs

Probably there is no point of talking abt this atm but people giving FSG stick abt not giving endless amount of money to spend on players, should put the blame on Kenny Dalglsih & Damien Commoli.

What a wast some of money so called Kenny Dalglsih has wasted on average players.

I can't see any f##king reason we can call his policy of buying players the Money Ball policy admired by FSG.

And the how on earth he opted not to buy Nikica Jelavic when we were clearly in need of a striker in January. For 5M that would have been a real steal. Even if needed to sell a 5million loss would never be a loss than a 35m loss. In fact Jelavic value now is no doubt trippled. Now if we sell the guy for 15M and makes 10M profit isn't it called money ball policy.

Not buying a 27 year old for 20M or a unproven young striker for 35M. May be with Andy Carroll he might be a top quality striker but I just cant see Liverpool getting 30/35M for Andy Carroll, MAy be at his peak if he becomes a decent striker he could fetch 20/25M. Even than its 10/15M loss.

And for that mediocre Downing, the worst signing we have ever made at least as far as I remember. TELL ME WHICH CLUB WOULD PAY US 25/30M for him. We would be making a huge loss in him with the fact he will be in his 30's soon.

Henderson might come good and we might get 20m for him in the future if so called potential Dalglish saw in him comes to fruition.

I wouldn't blame FSG even if they fail to give a suitable budget (40/50M excluding money from player sales) to Brendan. I would blame it on Kenny Dalglish and a certain Damien Commoli. They simply wasted our money...

DON'T BLAME FSG, BLAME KENNY DALGLISH

Bosco

Kenny wasted it not commoli. Commoli told kenny about decent players around europe including making early moves for mata and other decent young players. There was an interview he done a few months after he left where he said if he alone picked players there is no way liverpool would have bought carroll or henderson fory silly fees but kenny insisted. Also commoli said kenny wanted to sign mainly english players look for the interview its quite a while ago but you may find it. l'equippe i think but not certain as it was on newsnow {Ed002's Note -

And just what will people achieve from throwing the blame at somebody?

Time to look forwards, surely...

Red7.

Comolli negotiated the prices.

"What a wast some of money so called Kenny Dalglsih has wasted on average players."

"so called Kenny Dalglish". - what you think that's a fake name or something?

Some of that wasted money got us to
wembley 3 times.....2 finals to boot
did you enjoy your day's out then,
remember we hadn't won anything for
6 YEARS but we did with that waste
of space signings, so they must of done
some good.......get real we may not be
there for another 6YEARS the way were
going on.

Getting really impatient! We need to sign some players! As soon as!
"My wife says she is going to leave me: because I am so impatient!" "Cant Wait!" :):)
kidmillions

Yip, its taking too damn long. We are wasting time, it really grates me.
I mean, does BR have any idea what he wants.
Its a bit like the whole stadium thing, waiting for some news.
If its not players in the Euros, then what is the delay.

My wife says she is going to leave me because I'm so arrogant, I said "close the door on your way back in."

I see a lot of folks still posting that Kenny was backed to the tune of over £100m. Let's not believe this media driven agenda.

His net spend was around £35m. For those hard of understanding that means he sold players for around £70m.

It's like when you buy a new car for £10k. If you trade one in for £3k, you have only spent £7k.

On top of this, with the players ins and outs, the wage bill was cut by around £30m per year too, so in effect, FSG have yet to seriously invest in the squad.

I am not being negative about FSG, they are clearly very shrewd. However, after a finish of 8th, now is the time for them to invest heavily.

Let's keep this in kind when talking about our squad and Kenny's reign.

1970Red

I dont understand whenever people try to say FSG have spent only 35 mil, why dont they ever mention the 100 mil loss over the last two seasons that has been paid by them. So overall, they have invested at least 135 mil. There is a definite reason why they are not happy with the achievments.

Can't believe people giving the eds grief, all do a great job and if people don't like/appreciate what you are trying to do then they shouldn't come on the site.
I read the site all the time and every name under the sun is linked but at the minute we have no real idea because BR is new to the club and he will have to review all the targets from previous regime and scouts.
Keep the faith, I think the next few years could see us returning to the top four regularly, patience is required.
Thanks to Macca, all the eds and FSG.

I posted yesterday about a very good article in The Tomkins Times entitled "Liverpool FC - An Alternative View From History".
It never got posted, so I think it may have got jumbled up in all the flak flying. Or it may have got taken wrongly as the post was about the criticism that FSG have received on here (by me included it has to be said).

But the article puts the change at the club in a different context, and it's worth reading and considering.
It's one of the freebies as well, so you don't have to subscribe to be able to read it.
So, lads like Irish Rover, Ozone etc, it is a decent read.

Finally, lay off the Eds please. This has to be one of the best sites on the web. All gratis, some gems and right laughs.
And the Ed info & input is excellent, so give it a rest.

I have been away out the country for a bit so i dont know whats going on with people giving eds grief so can some one inform me why ?? Ashy

Someone should drop the talk about Falcao. If Atletico gave 40 m to get him, they would not sell for less. Would love to see him, but it is an unrealistic target. Danieldenmark

Would be good though!

Everybody is harking on about 'big money signings'... Its starting to actually piss me off to be honest. Do you think Leo Messi came out his mums womb with a Ballon D'or? Do you think Cavani has always been a £50m+ player. Along with all these other 'marquee' players being mentioned!?

Somebody firstly had to scout these players, and without question, the world is a big enough place to find a new Cavani or 'Ken' Aguero. Give our manager a chance to bring the players he wishes to the club. End of the day, some of you will think you know better than Brendan but lets face it, thats why your sat by a computer winging like a girl and hes the manager of LFC.

Arsenal signed Fabregas at 16 but did you see him being paraded round the stadium? Did you see the Arsenal fans jumping up and down about his arrival at the begining? No, but look at what kind of player he has turned out to be.. Instead of buying Iniesta back then for a meresley £40 odd million pounds, they went out and found the next best thing. Oh and made him love the club, the fans love him and made some unbelievable proffit. Now hes gone, again Wenger wont be pushed into spending massive quantities but will again find the next Cesc Fabregas with the same commitment and mentallity as he had.

Hate to say it but United.. They buy so called 'mediocre players' from mid table teams.. Let me think, Valencia, Young, Jones and thats only to name a couple. Its about buying the right players instead of the best sometimes.

Now, I absolutely hate reffering to United.. But infact look at what they have won over the last 10 years and the amount they spent... Yeah a healthy portion, but nothing out of the ordinary in this day and age for a top club.

Now.. Look at what Real Madrid have spent, and look at what they have won in the last 10 years...With all the hundreds and hundreds of millions ploughed into it and all the 'marque signings' made they still havent won a Champiosn league in the least decade.

Its incredible, it really is. I personally think with the 'right' additions and tweaking with our tactics we will be a much stronger team next year. The foundation has been set, we under achieved last year in the league and i honestly would say our squad is very very close to being as good as United's.

Ill get knocked by a load of you fickle supporters for reffering to the scum, but our aspirations are eventually to win the league, and they my freinds are our bench mark.

City and Chelsea? Look at how many times they are in the papers fro all the wrong reasons. The ego's are massive, their wages are sickly.. We dont need to resort to un-stabalising our football club with operpaid twits. We will do it the old fashioned way, the way our club has been brought up and the ethos Mr Shankley injected into us.

What im trying to say is... Spending big money on 'BIG' players isnt always the way forward. Now and again, sure its good to see a recognised name come in and set the world a light but i know for sure that Liverpool wont be mugs and resort themselves to Yaya wages. For that reason alone ladies and gents, im proud to be a Liverpool fan.

lets just get behind everybody, PLEASE! Were going in the right direction. You either jump on the bus and support us or you catch a bus to teh Etihad. Up to you

Sam Adzii JFT96

99% agree with you Sam. People talk about Chelsea and the like, but Barca brought those fantastic players through from a young age, and became the best club side i've ever seen. We're trying to do exactly the same thing here and it takes time.
The one point i disagree on is the origin of Lionel Messi. Born of a human womans womb he is not! we may never know just how this little genius' presence on this earth came about, but t'was surely not as a result of human procreation.

Red7.

(I don't believe in giving the Ed's a hard time that is not what this post is about).

In reply to the original post:

How do you know were going in the right direction?

We have not seen LFC under BR?

FSG seem to going in the wrong direction and taking the club with them on their ill fated Brand Excursion.

Mojo

Mojo.

How can you say were going in the wrong direction? You havent yet seen lfc under BR you contradicting dimwit.

Sam Adzii JFT96

Mojo wants us to move in the wrong direction, otherwise he/she will have to find something new at which to throw negative comments...

Sam Adzii JFT96

I said FSG are going in the wrong direction never mentioned BR going in the wrong direction

Some folk here badly need comprehension lessons.

What u have to remember SAM ADZII JFT96 is when MESSI was a youngster
barca still had a top team who were
playing in the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE regularly with players like RONALDINHO,
DECO,VAN BRONCKHURST KLUIVERT,
to name but a few,LFCcan't wait for 2,3, or 4 promising come through because as you know time waits for no man,the other top teams have left us by,that's why we need an influx of QUALITY signings which a sheikh or oligarch
could provide because FSG are certainly
not gonna compete.......

Hi Eds, what is the deal with Aquilani,.he is obviously a good player so why won't LFC try and keep him? {Ed002's Note - He has not been happy in England.}

The Eds thanks for your patience. They have repeatedly said that Aquilani is not happy to play in England preferring to be in his own country Italy which is why deals have been or has been attempted with Juventus, AC Milan and possibly Fiorenttina but it seems like the Italian clubs are taking LFC for granted or rather taking advantage of the situation

Come on Stevie G show the world who the best player in the world is!

Its not patriotic but I don't care if England come home after 3 games The only thing I care about is that he comes back fit. He missed too much of last season with injuries and we don't need that again

Since I'am not English I don't really care where England finish in this turnament however I don't want to hear the negatives about Gerrard and for that reason I hope Gerrard lifts this championship and most Importantly comes back fit and Hungry to play for LFC like only he can.

Am i the only one that thinks we need to splash out on one quality striker that gurantees goals?

I.e - Soldado, Cavani, Huntelaar, Hulk, Damiao, Pato, Falcao, Higuain, Cardozo

Being realistic i would take Huntelaar

We don't have the money for
Soldado,
Cavani,
Hulk,
Pato,
Falcao,
Higuain,
Cardozo

So not much choice left from your wish list

To the second poster, we have enough money to fund a move for Soldado and Cardozo.

What makes you Think we have Money for even any even middle ranked striker

Brendan Rodgers wants to buy the following players:
- Fernando Llorente
- Aly Cissokho
- Momo Diame
- Gylfi Sigurdsson
- Adam Johnson

Brendan here I never said that!

I can't stop dreaming of when liverpool will sign ben affelay..He is a great player and will surely be success at liverpool.. As i'm a die hard liverpool fans i really know players which we need in right wing it is affelay which we really needed to score goals and assist. cristian.

Ben Affelay? who the bloody hell is that?

He is Ken Aguero's half brother. Reality Red

hahahhaha! I cant believe how many people are quoting the Tika Taka system like they know exactly how it works and how it can be broken down.....I forgot every man on the street is capable of being a professional coach.............Give it a rest just because Chelsea got lucky in two games due to bad finishing, missed penalties and good goalkeeping dosnt mean its going to work for everyone, Italy might have sat back against Spain but theyve always sat back forever and a day, thats nothing new...........
Everyones a part time expert.....get off that fifa football and look at the real world.......
The Guv 81-9 YNWA JFT96

You seem to want to pose as someone with superior knowledge of football. Yet it seems to have escaped your notice that neither Cassano nor DiNatale was "sitting back". Italy has Spain's number, and could have won - just as they did the last time they played.

Italy sat back? italy had two strikers on the pitch the whole game and spain didn't have a striker on the pitch until the 78th minute and even he can't hit a barn door. why they didn't start with llorente amazes me.

Hey eds just heard that brendan rodgers is trying to bring celtic's victor wanyama to lfc any truth in this?he is a good and combative dm in my opinion. {Ed002's Note - I really don't know of any truth in it.}

Sevilla would have a different opinion on his value i'm sure. He's a good footballer and would not be cheap!

BEAUTIFUL site eds. Thanks for all the hard work. Just wanted to share some thoughts. I think our players right now, are good enough. Imo, we just need a world class defensive midfielder who can actually retain possession to let our front men and wingers do the work. Spearing isn't good enough. Lucas is coming back, but with an injury he won't be good enough from the start.
Henderson is class, anyone who watches or plays football can tell you that. Carrol is coming good. Suarez is world class. Downing isn't a bad player. We need some flair on the wings, though. So we need a sexy winger and a solid dm.
One question I wanted to ask you eds is about Kuyt.
There was uncertainty surrounding his future, but all of a sudden he just left for fenerbache? No rumours, no nothing. So can I say its safe to assume that some of our signings will be players we were never linked with before? Are we in for a surprise?
Thanks a lot eds.
PakiRed. {Ed016's Note - It was well known that Kuyt was going to leave this summer. He made it clear he wasn't getting enough game time. Someone told me that was tosh, well he personally said it in an interview. You're right though, the actual transfer was very sudden and we knew nothing about the specifics. I do think we will be in for a surprise in the sense that I don't think anyone has a clue as to who we are signing. All the names being thrown around right now to me don't make sense. I'm pretty sure we are waiting till after the Euros before we do anything.}

Yeah that's what I meant. I'm really nnot expecting a signing worth more than 18m. Cheers.
PakiRed.

Ed 16: that to me makes perfect sense. wish every transfer window were like this. THE RIGHT WAY!

getting really sick of all the moaners on here, whinging about who we are LINKED with. its quite obvious that these people are nothing more than gossip column readers. the only player we have been remotely linked with is sigurdsson.. simply because of what rodgers said about him and even that isnt a cert.. we are not going to sign nicklas bentner, clint dempsey etc etc.. they arent good enough... stop reading the papers and just wait and see. whatever happened to having a bit of patience fs? also.. players like kalou, who are available on a free.. we will not sign. there is no such thing as a free transfer.. signing fee, agent fee, wages... and because they are free agents, they can ask for whatever wage they want.. we are trying to cut our wage budget, not add to it with more mediocre players on high wages, eg, cole.. so before you start cracking up at who you THINK we are going to sign, wise up, take the story with a pinch of salt and say nothing until its confirmed..

ryan belfast ynwa

But, then we wouldn't have this website.. If you're not interested in rumours why come here?

Where does all the hate for Dempsey come from? I can't agree that he isn't good enough for Liverpool, 100 times better than that mess that we called a midfield last season

Very good post.

Because last summer people were loving Juan mata and saying how amazing he will be for Liverpool, where are they now ?

What happened ? We must be patient FSG kniow what they are doing.

Still here mate, i would LOVE to see Mata at Liverpool, but it didn't happen as we know. Still an amazingly talented player though...

FSG know what they are doing?

Really?

Dempsey would be a good replacement for Kuyt/Maxi.I would not be dissapointed if that were to come to fruition.

Reading around the net and have stumbled onto a few rumours that caught the eye. The likes of Sturridge, A. Johnson, Sessengon, Falcao, Defoe, Tiote, Sigurdson etc. Personally would love to see Falcao, Sessengon, Tiote and Sigurdson arrive with maybe Sturridge if Carroll is shown the door :L any of this likely ?

FALCAO! Yep, would love that too, but not in a million years

gareth

You have about 80M in players in your list?

Do you think that's likely?

This is why it grates when people demand marquee signings. None of them start as big money signings, Falcao for instance cost about £3million when porto bought him and he proved his worth and that sky rocketed. This is what Liverpool need to do, let the cousts do the work and pick up some gems and turn them into world beaters.

11 Jun 2012 00:12:24
Im not them guys who are unrealistic and think we can sign guys like hazard, cavani etc. cuz we carnt.
But with United, Chelsea, Arsenal and obv City making big moves i think we should try for one ambitous signing.
But i would love if we signed
Guys like Sigurdsson and Luuk De Jong.
I think we have a solid foundation of players but need a couple of players. Wingers and flair type players.
I say we need
Striker - De Jong
AM - Sigurdsson
2 Wing Forwards
DM - Diame
RB - Clyne

The 1 BIG signing should be maybe a winger like Belhanda
Or a ST like Higuin. Not saying we can sign them thoe.
