just want to say lazar markovic looked lively today. has good pace which would suit us. I know it's early and he didn't set the world alight when here the first time but let's hope he stays fit and gets a good run of games and let's see how he progresses with hull.

12 Feb 2017 04:40:04
I never thought I'd say it but he's looking quality at Hull so far, his final ball looks to have improved hugely.

12 Feb 2017 08:18:33
He might not want to come back for the way he was tret? Hopefully klopp will speak with him and reassure him. I thought he looked decent when he was playing for us until Rodgers ruined him at right wing back. Even if he's not immediate first team, he would be handy to have on the bench, and much better option than some should we need a tactical change coz some are on there to simply make numbers up and not going to get played unless we're 4-0 up with 10 mins left.

12 Feb 2017 08:37:52
What are you saying guys. That he has got better with time?

And maybe he could start achieving his potential?

Wow. A young player getting hounded out for not being good ebough in his first prem season in a pretty poor team and now potentially becoming a good useful player.

12 Feb 2017 12:26:50
He was deployed as a WB under Brendan when that is not his game at all. He is not even a direct winger. His pace helps him to skip past people. He is more like Sterling. Play through the middle and has decent brain for picking up players ahead of him.

12 Feb 2017 13:11:12
I was not impressed, globally. I watched the whole game and tho he showed flashes, he was too inconsistent, no drive nor determination nor hardwork. If anyone thinks he can play in a Klopp system that was on full show last night vs Spurs after his perf vs Arsenal, is kidding themselves. A lot will have to change in his game and attitude and I don't see that happening.

11 Feb 2017 21:42:55
Listened to todays game on the radio. Sounded like Mane had a 10 minute spell of causing absolute chaos that won us the game.

However I lost count of how many times the commentators said
"Spurs break, oh Wijnaldum nicks it back"
Sounded like he was absolutely everywhere! Apparently a beautiful pass for Mane too. I can finally watch Match of the Day again!

11 Feb 2017 22:02:37
Gini was a solid 9/ 10, he absoutly must have been injured for klopp to keep picking can over him. Hendo and lallana play better when Gini plays too.

11 Feb 2017 22:12:39
It was more like 80 mins, just teared them apart time after time.

11 Feb 2017 22:13:03
Wijnaldum was immense today. mane will get the plaudits and rightly so after his 2 goals but Wijnaldum was my motm. that was his best game in a lfc shirt today. hopefully many more to come.

11 Feb 2017 22:21:51
Wini was superb MK.

11 Feb 2017 23:42:08
Look at he's stats it says it all in the fiture he will be an integral part of the team.

12 Feb 2017 06:45:25
I hope big al didn't read this lol, somehow I still think he'd find a way to say wijnaldum is a ghost and somehow in an alternate universe Can is better than him.

12 Feb 2017 09:53:41
Kman, lol.

12 Feb 2017 13:15:24
There were several MOTM perfs last night. From Mane, Hendo, Wiji to Lucas, Firmino and Lallana. A complete performance. Every player should look at that perf individually and collectively as the standard going forward. A s for Wiji, he was colossal in both attacking and defensive midfield muscling beasts like Dembele and Wanyama off the ball. he even had time for a scorpion flick to Couts. Great perf from him!

11 Feb 2017 20:33:03
Hopefully the massive panic brigade will stay quite for a couple of weeks now.

I've been saying for most of the season now that 2 or 3 bad results will see a team in the top 3 drop out of top 4. 2 or 3 big wins will also see a team in 4th, 5th or 6th get closer or into the top 4!

We got one today and it shouldn't be underestimated on how big this win COULD be for rest of the season.

Yes, we've been awful since the turn of the year. I'm pretty sure the players and the manager has noticed this and I'm also pretty sure they've been doing everything possible to turn it around, so I salute the performance today and urge everyone associated with the club to build on this, starting at Leicester in 2 weeks!

Yeah we may still miss out on top 4 but from 2nd to 6th is so tight at the minute it could go either way for any of us. Best thing to do is support the team and we'll evaluate how we done at the END of the season.

Even this afternoon, I was reading on social media people's comments to the starting line up and it was a huge majority writing us off before the game started.
"lucas in defence, we've had it. "
"Lucas staring when we have just sent sent a beast in sakho to palace"
It's laughable. Lucas is slow and clumsy at times, but he done everything he needed to today. Sakho can be a good player at times, but mostly makes shocking decisions with the ball and panics massively when one on one so get over it, he's gone!

Come on reds, finish the season strongly.

11 Feb 2017 21:48:02
lucas not only played well in defence, he should have also scored with a free header, a great display from him, social media sadly can get hysterical BEFORE a game is played, a sign of the times sadly.

12 Feb 2017 03:07:47
Would rather the patience being shown to Lucas (who has been consistently awful in defence) was shown to a youngster not a player on his way out. one half decent game doesn't make up for the endless list of nightmares he has had. one of the kids couldn't do much worse.

{Ed001's Note - endless list of nightmares? Some of you people dream up utter bull! Lying to make a point just makes you seem like an arse.}

11 Feb 2017 20:18:28
Good god talk about ungrateful glass half empty fans we have.

This time last year after 25 games we were on 35 points in 9th and apart from leicester noone was on 49.

Were 14 points better off. that's improvment

Were 1 off second. Right in the shampions league mix. Top of the top 6 league, haven't lost to any of them. Jist smashed title challengers tottenham all over the park. Got our fingers crossed that chelsea will lose and we can stay within 9 pf them ready for the season to start a fresh in two weeks.

Get a grip of yoselfs. Where fine and still better than last year which is the minimum of klipps job to improve us each year.

Ynwa. i know my faith never wavered this year. All my posts saod we would mash the spuds today. vindicated.

Believable7 Unbelievable6

11 Feb 2017 21:57:45
we have been on a bad run that not only cost us in the league but also the cups as well, of course the fans weren't happy, I feel personally this season could have been so much better we had a great chance, I would however take a top 4 finish right now but becoming champions has to be our ultimate aim, we need to stop losing to teams title contenders should be beating first to make that happen.

11 Feb 2017 23:53:43
But fans expected the league after finishing 8th. What stupidity! that's why people are dissapointed.

Listen the following couldn't piss me off more.

Fans who don't expect the league are not bad fans. Every comment is alwayd we shouldn't be aiming for top 4 were liverpool we should be winning the league. and of course our history and prestige dictates that but our squad and circumstances DO F NOT.

Where building toward that but again even after 1 league title we might not win it again for another 5/ 6 years. So if were not winning it do people refuse to use the words where having a good season.

Its only chelsea who are doing really great.

United WORLD RECORD PLAYER, mourinho, 150 mil spent are behind us.

City 120 million front 3, guadiola are potentially just 3 above us.

Where all having solid seasons but expectations are telling you all where not and that's why you probably don't enjoy football and are constantly renouncing your faith in it after each and every loss.

Just take a step back and see where we end up and enjoy the wins like today along the way!

12 Feb 2017 01:01:36
I can see what you are saying mane, but we have to change our mentality, the owners want the title we have gone far too long without one, how many more years can we be in transition, plus we have spent plenty of cash ourselves as I said I would take top 4 now but I cannot help but feel we could have had so much more this season, we put ourselves in a great position only for this wretched run to put the mockers on that, as for being patient I personally have been patient since 1990 waiting for Liverpool fc to deliver title number 19.

12 Feb 2017 07:02:04
I have to agree with kingkenny here, 1 win in 10 and out of all three competitions in the space of a couple of weeks is disappointing for any set of fans not just us. Of course people are going to be disappointed, but I agree some people have been over the top. I think you make some good points but you start your post in the most passive aggressive way as if people shouldn't have been disappointed or that we should be happy to have just been in a position to challenge but then lose that to the teams we lost it too. That's a very beta way of thinking, and we won't be winners with that mentality. Did I expect the title even when we where 5 points behind, no I didn't, I knew that even if Chelsea where to drop points we would drop just as many if not more. But the disappointing part wasn't that we dropped off or didn't compete until the end of the season, it was who we lost to and the manner of our performances. We flicked a switch and received relegation form all of the sudden lol. Having said that, it was important not to overreact and know that we had the players and the manager to bounce back. Does this result mean we are going to be all find and dandy again though? It didn't after Chelsea. We will just have to wait and see. It's very easy for people like you to say 'see I told you so' or 'this should quieten up the haters' lol do you not see you are just as toxic and unbalanced as the fans calling for klopps head. Just say we needed this result, it was a brilliant performance and that this should be the result we build on, not use it as a stick to beat other rightfully disappointed fans.

12 Feb 2017 08:42:41
What are you not getting?

The owners mentality is to win the league
Klopps to win the league
Players to win the league
Fans to win the league

Each and every year

Are we good enough to win the league yet? NO

Should we not count finishing 8th and then say 3rd as an achievment, bexause going of that improvment. we qill win the league next year!

Realism is different from mentality.

Where a huge club. League winners!

But do you think were good enough trully. right now?

Last question is do you think klopp looks in yhe mirror at the start of the season and says i am aiming for 4th this year. No more n9 less? Come on now.

12 Feb 2017 12:04:16
Where did Chelsea finish last year?

12 Feb 2017 13:25:17
Supermane is posting some common sense and just see the world as it is, NOT as he would like it to be. We all want to win the PL BUT this squad still has holes in it that need filling. That is a fact. You can't win the PL with one great CB in Matip, nor a make shift LB in Milner, no replacement for Mane and the list goes on and on. If our great start to the season suckered you into thinking we could challenge for the PL vs teams further along in their squad development than we are, then that's your fault for not dreaming with your eyes open. The title was never on for me for the reasons above so we're good. Did the bad run affect me? Of course and hopefully lessons have been learned. But to the fans throwing your toys out of the pram cos we couldn't match a Chelsea team 2 season removed from winning the PL with the same squad and a great addition in Kante, then I can't helpyou there. Dream with your eyes open, fellow reds!

11 Feb 2017 19:57:37
Supporters right now be like: "we can still win the league" 😂

Anyway. I though our midfield played a nasty delicious high press game. Also, I love matip. I was sitting next to a couple of Spurs fans at the pub. they were complaining on all the individual mistakes. But our high press made them do the mistakes.

Believable7 Unbelievable0

11 Feb 2017 22:52:52
We CAN still win the league 🏆.

12 Feb 2017 12:07:33
Chelsea haven't had their dip in form yet.
Hopefully it's coming soon.

12 Feb 2017 13:44:01
But not today by the looks of it 😡.

13 Feb 2017 04:49:17
2points dropped today for the blues against Burnley

It probably should have been 3.

It's not over yet.

11 Feb 2017 20:29:11
The defense looked a lot better today without lovren getting caught out of posistion, hopefully klopp realises as many fans on here have he isn't good enough and needs replacing in the summer. On a positive note we were brilliant today we just need a bit of fine tuning as klopp says the vision is long term. Keep the faith the team needs its twelfth man.

Believable6 Unbelievable0

11 Feb 2017 21:35:00
Lovren never played in the last game either and we got beat by Hull.

11 Feb 2017 23:55:28
Peoplw have good and bad games. Lucas wasnt a world beater last week but was brilliant today.

Gotta go off a whole player not just bad moment.

Lovrens been solid for us gor the most part. Infact the first couple of months with him and matip where terrific. Then they got split uo throuvh injury and afcon problems. Let rhem get a good run together after he's back and rhey qill be fine again 😊.

12 Feb 2017 12:12:05
Important save today by Migs.
Stopped any momentum building for Spurstow.
He still needs work on clearing the ball with his feet. He seems always to finds an opponent.

But overall well played.

11 Feb 2017 19:52:05
that performance has been a long time coming, now we need to use that as a bench mark for the rest of the season.

Now I said earlyer that I was worried with lucas tonight not cause I don't like him just though he would really struggle in defence but he was imense won every header great performance from him. Also really pleased we went back to that mid 3 of lal hen and gini all great performace from them especally gini ferminho looking back to it but let's not get carried away its only as good as your next performance hopefully weeks training in betweeen matches will help cheers.

11 Feb 2017 20:30:15
It's lovren mate, always lunging out the box into tackles we look much more confident without him.

11 Feb 2017 21:34:33
That would be the same Lovren who partnered Klavan to a clean sheet against Manchester City about 1 month ago, lerchy?

I agree whole heartedly that we need a better long term partner for Matip, but it is a bit knee jerk to basically blame all our poor defensive displays on Lovren after 1 clean sheet without him.

We have just won 2-0 against the hardest team to beat in the league (lost just twice in 24 before today) . Can we not enjoy the victory for a few hours before we descend into moaning again lol?

11 Feb 2017 23:57:07
Always someone to blame. Never someone to praise.

Noone going to just say wiji came back and partnered hendo and we were back?

Instead of it being lovren out maybe its wiji in.

11 Feb 2017 17:52:58
Question. You think mane returning will jist fix everything.

Answer. Bt sports right about now haha ;)

Believable4 Unbelievable1

11 Feb 2017 19:32:02
If Mane can rescue our season, what can't he rescue? I reckon he could probably rescue Joe Harts Manchester City career!

11 Feb 2017 19:33:29
Normal Service Resumed!
Fantastic performance tonight. Totally dominated Spurs from start to finish.
Mane on fire with two great goals. Everyone played well.
Really enjoyable to watch again.

Well done lads. YNWA.

11 Feb 2017 20:21:04
Not just Mane, tho. The desire, drive and intensity we played with, ia what has been missing from our game sine the City game. Mane played vs Hull and we were crap. Why? We were missing all the above.

11 Feb 2017 21:23:53
Spurs played a high line and that's criminal against Mane. He was running riot on that right hand side. We weee average on the left. Tells you what Pace brings to the team. Can we have another Mane on the left.

11 Feb 2017 22:23:37
Harry ❤'s pace. pace on the left actually. But I do agree with you Harry.

11 Feb 2017 23:58:24
Yeah noah. Wiji aswel coming back in made a huge difference, but as a whole the team where brilliant today.

All that though didn't give my comment the same smarmy effect haha.

Klopp will be hoping that Tottenham don't park the bus today. I know that's not their style. But imagine if they did. They would win by a 3-goal margin. It has been effective for our opponents, hasn't it. Defend in numbers and hit our shaky defence with counter attacks. Klopp can play only one way.

Believable1 Unbelievable6

{Ed025's Note - thats called counter attacking LH9, parking the bus means not attacking at all mate and is used by liverpool fans to excuse their forwards for being inept..

11 Feb 2017 16:32:27
Sick of this excuse the reason why it seems like teams are parking the bus when we are in possession is because of how slow we are playing. Before Christmas we could be in the penalty area inside 10 passes. Yet now we are playing anything up to 40 passes and then resorting to a 30 yard shot.

What do you expect the opposition to do when we are passing it side to side? Sit half their players ahead of the ball making it easy for us?

Teams don't sit back against us because they want to. We are allowing them to get numbers back by playing so slowly. It's just a poor excuse. Our players are not up for it. Coutinho, Can and Lallana in particular (a few of the key players in terms of our transition into attack) are just not up for it right now. Until they start moving it faster then we are just going to continue to allow teams to get organised and then fail to break them down.

11 Feb 2017 16:38:51
Poor recently. inept seems extreme. still second top scorers in the league. Everton hit a bit of form have they? You a one man team mate.

11 Feb 2017 16:38:26
Haha owned, ed25's got banter for days.

11 Feb 2017 17:06:32
I share your sentiments there, ed025.

11 Feb 2017 20:26:00
Ed25 is on the money. Teams were parking the bus against us in the first half of the seson and we were still battering them, bar the Burnley game as B'mouth game was us taking the last 15 mins of the game off after leading 3-1 without conceding a shot on goal. We simply were not playing with the same drive, passion and precision as we did vs Spurs today.

We blew them away in the first half and they were lucky it wasn't 4 with a Mane hatrick. In the second half, we simply turned to the dark arts (time wasting, slowing the game down and not pushing players and fullbacks forward mindlessly) to snuff them out and rendered their vaunted attack pathetically worthless. The lineup was spot on and that lineup should start every game (bar Lovren for Lucas) barring injuries.

11 Feb 2017 13:29:49
Nothing but 3pts and a convincing win today, will do.

Believable13 Unbelievable0

11 Feb 2017 13:38:13
3pts from a dodgy pen in the 91st will do me.

11 Feb 2017 15:38:18
Lfc have too Man Utd have caught up after their terrible first half of the season this league is crazy.

11 Feb 2017 15:56:10
I want a better performance. I'm not going to go bonkers if we fail to smash Spurs who are a really well organised team.
If we win - great, if we don't - we need to see improvements.

11 Feb 2017 16:28:36
If we don't win Ron we'll be 6pts off top4. How it's changed. If you ask me, if Klopp fails to get top4 then that's a big problem trying to get players in.

11 Feb 2017 21:49:59
United are very comfortable at HT. You can only see a home win there. With Arsenal winning I agree a win is essential. Convincing would be nice but a win will do however it comes.

11 Feb 2017 21:16:37
Ron, if we don't then we are temporary to permenantly out from Top 4 which is not an improvement at all mate. It's all points now. I don't care how it comes nor any liverpool supporter atm.

11 Feb 2017 13:11:57
Watching Ars-Hull. Hull playing some kind of run-and-gun tactic, no parked bus in sight. Doing quite well actually. Think they fear being picked apart by runs defending low.

We soo need to find a way past low defending. If they had set up like this last week Bobby, Couts and Sadio would have had so much fun.

Doesn't help that Sanchez is bloody lucky with a blind linesman, somehow missing him volleyballing in 1-0. We've ben crap since 2016, but absolutely no luck with refereeing either.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

{Ed025's Note - luck has nothing to do with it andy, you have been bloody awful mate, just hold your hands up and admit it..

11 Feb 2017 13:32:28
Got to agree with Ed025 on this. Weve been a shambles this year. All of which will change after we hammer the spuds of course.

{Ed025's Note - good luck with that annie, a draw would do me mate because the blue boys are a comin.. :)

11 Feb 2017 13:37:19
Markovic looked decent in first half . he should be in our squad if yo ask me. we were crying out for a bit of pace when mane was away. I think him and mane in our team would be a good combo on either side.

11 Feb 2017 13:38:00
Hull attacked us at every opportunity. We just pin teams back with slow laboured possession, then fail to break them down.

{Ed025's Note - that has been the case recently MK..

11 Feb 2017 13:52:48
Markovic doing himself no harm at all looks stronger too. If we aren't going to keep him I think there will be a few more takers than 12 months ago.

12 Feb 2017 10:16:44
We've been bloody awful, but with a spot of luck Clattenburg sees through Hazards obvious dive and doesn't give the freekick for Luiz to score. Great shot btw, no keeper would have had a chance.
My point is that when a team goes through a rough time every little thing counts. A call is made, a call isn't, a deflection goes your way and so on. Get one or two your way and things might turn around.

11 Feb 2017 10:25:20

{Ed001's Note - I think the internet is on mate, and yes, since I left Spain to visit my best mate and my daughter we haven't won a game!}

11 Feb 2017 14:59:15
